Two of my regulars showed me their apartment located at a 15 minute trike ride from Walking Street in an area that can best be described as a slum (although I'm aware there are even worse areas in the PI or elsewhere in the world).

Aircon is no use, your body will get used to the temperature after several month. (depends on individuals, age, nutrition, body weight.).

That was reportedly because some of those patrons did NOT have "I_D".
So. . . . it is always a good idea to make a copy of your passport page and carry that with you. I presume that would be adequate as a means of establishing your identification while explaining to the officer that the real passport is safely tucked away in the hotel safe.
I was NOT present for the Nemesis raid (just got the text messages from my friend) so I can't say whether the CIDG just cleared the bar of the patrons or if they tried to establish who they were.
Remember that there are still pickpockets working Fields / Walking Street and don't carry anything that you can't afford to lose including "I_D".

The raid was about the usual. Getting payment from the bar. No customers were taken. Although customers are not allowed to leave until the entire process completed.
The customer had to pay their bill and sit until they finished clearing the bar. That took 3 1/2 hrs.

While the APEC conference was going on, they had lots of extra police from other areas of the Philippines here (probably quite a few from Manila region) and things operated pretty smoothly.
With increased traffic enforcement and re-routing of the Perimeter Road traffic, traffic was light. Perhaps after the first few days, all the Filipinos that like to drive cars / motorcycles without current registrations and motorcyclists without helmets etc. All stayed home rather than risk fines.
The Department of Social Welfare had rounded up all the street children and parked them somewhere. They were absent for almost the whole conference.
The gypsy ladies with the babies were absent.
There was not really any noticeable reduction in Vitamin salesmen (LOL).
There were police everywhere and at least for a short while, things seemed almost like the real world. I would imagine that petty crime was down.
Now. . . Things are right back to where they were before the conference.
With little (mostly NO) enforcement, we are back to every Filipino ignoring ALL the rules.
It would be a good guess that there will be more raids, the city must have tallied quite a bill supporting the APEC conference and trying to put their best show on.

You should be able to recognize the ACETMO officers as usually they are the only ones that ARE allowed to ride their motor scooters up and down the Walking Street and wear orange shirts with the logo on the back.
I have never seen the Station 4 police actually do anything or interfere with anyone but then I am never down there between midnight and 5 am when all hell could be breaking loose for all I know.
I feel safer (LOL) now that they are there.

Well, I can imagine that guys are disappointed if they only look for girls in the bars because the quality there is often horrible. Although I admit I have only been in about ten bars or so in the past three weeks, so it's very well possible that I paid the wrong ones a visit. But the only bars where I've seen quite a lot of good looking girls were Insomnia, Calypso (the Bunker) and Atlantis. In the other bars it was 99% ugly girls and a lot of Jollibee Bellies and Butts (fatties).
However if you look outside the bars then I agree with you there are many, many good looking girls. Go sit at Kokomo's in the evening, any time between approximately 8 and 12 PM, and you will see many nice girls walking by or standing / sitting in front of the restaurant (yes also a lot of lady boys, I know). Not all of these girls are P4 P but most of them are.
It can be a little bit hit or miss. Sometimes you hardly see any girls and half an hour later you see a dozen. A lot of these girls go to High Society after about 12 PM.
The quality can be a little bit hit or miss too but with a little patience you can score a cutie every evening. Some of them you see almost every day, others only occasionally or even only once. Some of them are making clear by eye contact or smiling that they are looking for a customer, others are too shy and / or inexperienced to do that so you'll have to take the first step.
Furthermore cute girls can be found among the sales ladies in SM mall for example and of course through social media sites on the internet and chat applications like WeChat.
In the past three weeks I have picked up two bar girls. For the rest I have only shagged regulars, street walkers and WeChat contacts. And I'm having a ball!

Plenty of single people go to the Philippines without any issues at all. Keep your wits about you, don't get drunk, make sure she's of legal age, don't get arrested (see previous two points), and read these forums to learn about some of the tricks and scams. I made my first two visits to Angeles in 2006 and 2007 and I had a ball. Plenty of cuties everywhere (although maybe I have filtered old memories through pink glasses a little bit).
My third and fourth visit were last year, so 7 years later. The scene had deteriorated significantly but nevertheless I could still find enough cuties to play with, albeit with a little more effort.
When I came back about 3 weeks ago for my fifth visit I was shocked when I saw the 'quality' in the bars. I had to look elsewhere (street, WeChat) to find good looking girls. See my post #16337 below.
So in summary: if you come here for the bar girls only, stay home. If you're willing to look elsewhere (street, chat apps, social media, disco's, malls) then you can still have a great time.
As far tall beauties: there might be some spread around in the bars but not that many. I suggest you setup some chat app accounts and make clear that you are looking for tall girls.

Some of the ex-pats are on a budget and will point you to places that are budget priced.
I have one place that I eat breakfast that 2 eggs / 2 slices of toast / home fries are 75 php, add a bottomless cup of coffee for another 55 php and you are 130 php / 150 php with a 20 php tip.
Another place I go has a ham and cheese omelet and a slice of toast for 120 php. 2 eggs and a slice of toast there is maybe 70 php.
These places are NOT directly in the tourist area defined by MacArthur Hwy (McDo) on one end and Margarita Station at the other end. The second place is however very close to ABC hotel.
So I am with you. . . . reasonably priced food is OK with me. After all. For the most part, food is food.
Places like Margarita / Kokomos / Phillies are tourist hangouts and charge western prices. I think some of their prices probably exceeed what I pay back in America. When a dozen eggs at the grocery store costs 72 php (6 php each) a 30 php egg at those places seems a bit high.
Why 3 egg omelets at Kokomos / Margarita are in the range of 300 php is beyond me other than they enjoy some healthy profits at those prices.
I had a couple of ex-pats telling me about a place that has a breakfast buffet on Satudays that is priced at 250 php. I might have to see if I can find that, Sounds like a good deal.
Scorebirds hotel has been running a dinner all-you-can-eat buffet for less than 300 php on Friday's and Saturdays. We will have to see how long that lasts at that price.

Located in the Diamond Subdivision just down the street from Swagman's, the Marble Inn may have the best restaurant in AC. It is an open kitchen and you see the food prepared in front of you. I challenged the manager: "All those cups fell on the dirty floor and you are going to have your customers drink from them?" The manager was baffled. What to do? What to do?

This was Phase Two of my trip. Phase One was Bangkok, where I left a trail of bodily fluids, admittedly primarily sweat, throughout the Sukhumvit strip. Phase Three will be Pattaya. I am basking in the cultural high spots of Southeast Asia. Or at least a part of me is.
On arrival in MNL there was a death March from the gate that passed three non-operating moving walkways. Nice to have that sort of consistency in a developing country. For reasons known only to the Gods of Travel I breezed through immigrations. There were actually two booths with no lines whatsoever. It wasn't a tough choice: One had an old guy. The other had the hottest immigrations chick I've ever seen. I found myself wondering what the Immigrations Service bar fine policy was. Probably better that I didn't ask. I could have had a LOT more sex than I was looking for, but not exactly of the type desired.
I'm really fed up with the Manila taxi BS so I opted to splurge for a car direct from NAIA to AC: 2800 pesos through Margarita Station. Highly recommended. Very good meeting instructions. They suggested I send a photo and the driver must have gotten it as he seemed to recognize me. Pretty amazing that he even showed up after seeing my mug.
I stayed at the Orchid Inn the crappy old one a block off of Fields. For reasons I cannot really fathom this is my usual home. I've only tried two other places. One, Valentino's, didn't have a restaurant; the other, the Apartelle Royale, was roomy as hell but a little far from the Fields action for numerous walking cycles. Besides, the Orchid rooms smell like urinal cakes and there is nothing quite like waking to the scent of a newly cleaned urinal.
You know you're in AC when the bellmen ask if you need Viagra or a girl.
I will definitely be looking for different accommodations should I return. When the hell did the Orchid become a family destination? The sound of screaming kids rounded out the wonderful urinal-themed waking. We'll get to more kid screaming issues in a bit because nothing says "Punter Forum" better than an in-depth treatise on volume and pitch issues in juveniles.
The whipped cream on the dessert that was my first morning's dawning was the pounding in my head. I know that a lot of you have this regularly and consider it collateral damage for gallantly attacking thirty bottles of San Miguel, but it is a rare experience for me as I am way too manly to drink alcohol. Hangovers, waking with dicks drawn on faces, exorbitant puke removal dry cleaning bills, and painful surgeries to set limbs broken while dancing naked on a Zamboni during the Stanley Cup finals pale in comparison to the deep and lasting damage done by gallons of Coca Cola and its peers on an average mongering night. Antacids scream in terror as I chug them by the handful.
I know AC is a party town but a contact hangover? Really? Probably not: My guess is it was the construction in a room a couple door down.
Also in evidence at the Orchid were at least a dozen South Asians (I think but detecting race or national origin is not one of my stronger suits). I only mention it because of the weirdness of how I found this out: I was delayed in the hall as they all filed into one room. WTF? That was going to be a serious sausage fest.
AC seemed delightfully uncrowded for what is supposed to be a busy time. I could walk, not creep, on Walking Street. I didn't always return to my room with homicidal thoughts about idiots there. I think some of this is because I just came from BKK and my very unscientific survey determined that far more people there were having their brains sucked out by mobile devices as they walked, so AC was a refreshing change. Mobile devices: Taking the "Mobile" out of mobility since the early 2000's. The crowding exception was when a tour bus would disgorge a few dozen guys who most likely had rice and fish for breakfast.
I visited about half a dozen bars. Generally the girl quality was pretty poor, but this is not that uncommon. Most places have the Elite bars, the Average Bars, and the God This Is Awful. And yes, Thai bars have those f*cking ping pong balls for them to scramble after. But most multi-story Thai bars have dance floors on each floor. In Angeles the multi-story bars have just the main dance area with maybe a few satellites, but balconies overlooking the main. Balconies which, ahem, SCREAM for balls, bills, or Bieber* (* not yet, but I hope someone is working on it) to be tossed. The resultant screaming can best be described as sitting one row ahead of a family with two year old sextuplets in economy on a transpacific flight. For extra realism the parents should be poking the little bastards with cattle prods.
To carry the air travel analogy farther, I try to find a seat against the wall, much as one might seek a seat in front of a bulkhead in a plane to avoid the sextuplets' kicking. In the bar case it is to try to thwart the massage girls. There are now dedicated (not in the "hard working" connotation) massage girls roaming some bars. Not to insult the intelligence of the bar owners, but did they just do a cursory reading of the Thailand ISG forum, spot three different massage parlor threads and assume, "Punters really, really dig neck and shoulder massages"?
As you've probably guessed, I like massages about as much as I like tattoos, maybe less because one can always just close one's eyes with the latter. And the girls are persistent: At least half the time it takes two "No's", maybe even a twist to get away from them.
If this narrative sounds a little angry, blame it on Cathay Pacific. I'm now in a car heading for Pattaya after filing the appropriate paperwork at Suvarnabhumi so that maybe they can find my luggage before I head home in a week. Also, they had two menu choices in business class: Something with mushrooms and some noodles. No fungi for me, thank you! Oh, they only loaded the fungus breakfast! But I have to say that they aim to please: They hunted down an omelet from somewhere. Maybe the pilot went hungry. So did I: It was a mushroom omelet.
But on to more specifics. I visited LaBamba, Angelwitch and Grand Pharaoh and was far from impressed. LaBamba was a total loss while Angelwitch itself was bad, as well, but I kept waiting for the next shift to get on stage because there were some cuties roaming around. After a while I determined that they must actually work at the attached bar (maybe Roadhouse?) but I didn't want to risk more ugliness so I fled to Atlantis for a recharge. The Pharaoh had a couple doable ones (with that many girls the odds are that at least one is above average) and as a bonus featured a pushy waitress who later disappeared completely so I headed to the bar to settle to tab. The manager was not amused.
The Dollhouse was above average, but not as good as I remembered. Also, it is a multi story bar. Atlantis is, too, but they can make up for it with looks.
Insomnia may have been pretty good. I would know more if I had not been immediately seized by two girls who I think were waitresses. There were several offers of a massage. I did not tarry.
I spent a lot of time at Pony Tails. My first two visits were in search of a lovely I BF's last time, but she has moved on. Too bad, as I sort of wanted to screw her since I didn't last time.

It was rather bizarre: We got some room service then discussed Corregidor for something like an hour and a half. I was not completely clear on the terms of the BF. Like the time limit, so she had to rather belatedly ask if anything else was on the menu for that afternoon. The time was short enough by then that I just blew it off. I don't think it was a scam: She was more than willing to go for the quickie. On the brighter side she did have a tattoo that I was going to have to overlook if we got intimate, so I dodged that. She was, though, one of the thong girls so I was sure I wasn't going to find any unwanted faces lurking.
But back to the recent past. Their day crew may actually be better than the night one. Numerous cuties, not really stunners, but definitely good enough. It also gets major points for dancers dancing to the William Tell Overture. True, it was a choreographed group, not just a standard song, but that still goes in to my top three in weirdness from over 1300 bars, along with the theme from the Jeffersons and Glen Miller's "In The Mood". Dishonorable Mention goes to an Oklahoma bar with a song whose chorus included, "Well she ran off with a {synonym for "black gentlemen" that rhymes with "trigger"} six foot four, named Buck. " Yes, Oklahoma: If it isn't their college fraternities' videos that are racist, it's their topless bars' playlists.
I talked with one of the girls from the choreographed group. They come in at 10 AM to practice for two hours before the club opens. I assume there is decent monetary compensation for this. They may be bar fine-able, but I'd be a little surprised since it is choreographed as a group. If they are not their income would just be LD's, tips, and a salary.
I had a fleeting hope that things would elevate above talking, though: It turned out that the next day, my last day for this trip, was her day off, so I was much distressed that I would not be seeing her again. I would have cried in my beer except the non-drinking thing. She volunteered to come in to see me. We set a time, 6 PM, but I wasn't expecting much. Sure enough, the time came and went. I figured I'd give her half an hour.
At six thirty she walked in. Good thing I didn't go with twenty five minutes. I bought her a drink which she drank very slowly. I asked if she was hungry. Yes. Hey things were looking up. When her drink was finally finished it was time to make our exit. Or really our exits. It turned out that she would get in trouble if she went to eat with me, so I wasn't going to get my chance to elevate to the next (horizontal) step. I suspect this is legit because after going to the trouble of meeting me there, why would she lie her way out of it? That begs the question, why the hell did she come in, anyway? I've never seen myself as the irresistible Casanova type.
Other bits and pieces from Pony Tails: I guess they have a kitchen, at any rate there was some guy walking around with a hot dog. Time to get back on my soapbox. NO MAN SHOULD EVER WALK AROUND A STRIP CLUB WITH A HOT DOG. I can only pray that he was bringing it to a girl for a certain demonstration. I pray this because the other, horrific possibility is that he ate it. A hot dog. In a strip club. I cannot imagine that. Yes, I guess I can, and he should go fall on his sword somewhere. The one he probably swallows along with hot dogs.

Then I took a two or maybe even three year AC hiatus. On my return I went in search of oral release and got recognized and dragged in for seconds. Two or three years! But besides the fear of an ever more mature provider, the business about no on-site service is a real downer for me for two reasons. In hindsight I fear that Angeles is not really for me, but not for a lack of attractive women, even in the bars. All the better if you drink, as long as it is ST so you never see her when you sober up.
I summed up my issues some posts ago: Convenience and PSE. Maybe I'm misunderstanding some of Mogwai's suggestions, but I want it to be quite clear at the outset that this is sex. Period. Some places like Watson's may ask for a script, but I usually avoid getting meds from them as they tend to have the highest prices. At "The Generic's Rx", where I purchase most of my meds, the cost for generic Cipro at the one I use in Cebu City is p14 per 500 MG tab. Branded, available at other Rx's, tends to run about p40-50 per tab.

When I return to AC, I want to save some money on my food, SNIP Went to Philly's one day, it was over $300 (I presume you meant p 300 / 300 pesos and not dollars?; suggest you leave off the dollar sign in the future posts unless you're talking about prices in USD). Then I noticed, Philly's had a $110 peso breakfast. 2 pieces of white toast, one egg and potatoes. Not bad for a breakfast. I paid like 30 peso for another egg. Unless they are in a big enough group, I don't see what the girls / waitress / hostess attraction is to these K guys. I don't eat salads in the Philippines either: ever! The problem is the water used to irrigate the fields; it's often polluted. Never will I do that again, I got the runs and didn't end until I came home 2 weeks later and my Dr prescribed Cirpro, fixed it almost with the 1st pill. No more salads for me. I dlike Jollibees, but not too much fried food for me... I will be there for a week the next visit, so I want to eat some decent meals. I will eat some qucik noodles some days for lunch and then decent dinner. Then you have 500 P left for dinner. You want a decent dinner so I suggest you go to Swiss Chalet. You can have a good meal there for about 400 to 500 P, including one drink.
Another option is the restaurant of the Pacific Breeze hotel. Also quite decent food for reasonable prices.
If you want to have a decent lunch AND dinner then I'm afraid 20 USD a day is not enough. Unless you wander to more remote locations maybe but I have no experience with that.
Getting veggies in the Phils is indeed a problem. Swiss Chalet has a salad bar (so far I never got sick from it) and they have a Thai fried rice dish with lots of veggies for example.
Most of the time if you order a dish with vegetables you get canned vegetables and not that much. I try to compensate by eating fruit and drinking fruit juices.
By the way, a few nights ago I had two of my regulars visiting me. After our session they were hungry and they asked for 100 P to get some food. They said they only had some coins left in their pockets, yeah right LOL!
They went out and came back about half an hour later with 2 rice meals for them (rice, some kind of sausages, maybe a little bit vegetables) and 2 pieces of bread plus 2 pieces of rice cake for me that they picked up at a bakery. I didn't ask for it but that doesn't matter.
They said they bought the rice meals somewhere near Margarita Station, a 10 minute walk from my hotel.
I haven't asked it but I presume they didn't spend more than those 100 P I gave them.
So it can be dirt cheap but I wouldn't recommend it. I doubt that it was good quality food.

To be economical, I will some times by one of the rotisserie chickens they cook on fields.
A whole chicken is 170 p, I have eaten them on every trip and never have been sick.
Some complain, if you get one from the side of the road on MacArthur Hwy some times they have dust / debris that is kicked up.
The one on fields (walking street) has a plastic shield to protect against the dust / debris so I tend to go there.
You can then stop at any local's canteen and buy an order of cooked rice - 10 p. This is one thing they know how to cook well.
Often I order a veggie dish from certain canteens. Those which I know have a high local turnover and the food is basically cook to order.
The little local canteen around the corner from Sky Traxx cooks chop suey for 50 p. And some on fields that have high BG traffic.
The chicken serves two meals (lunch + dinner) or feeding you and guest.
So chicken 170 p + (2 rice at 10 p) 20 p + (2 veggie dishes at 50 p) 100 p. Total under 300 p for 2 meals.
This is especially great when hosting pinay's. Its like comfort food for them.
The other option I find for reasonable prices is Korean resto's. Oppa on Fields gives a lot of food for the price.
In Korean style they bring several small dishes of various veggies / potatoes before the main entree making for a filling meal.
I see many BG's eating there (paying, not on date), so that can give you an idea of the price level.

There is one on the right hand side just passed the massage shop. The other is on the same side as the Amsterdam, and has a wood facade, just before you get to the alley street that has a few Korean bars (with Banana something, which was a fan bar a year ago, FYI).
There is also a 24 hour spot on about two blocks passed J. Js on the same side of the street, which is very solid. That is perhaps a 8 minute walk down walking street.

Not that much of a walk, maybe a mile in total. I do know where Oppa is and I will look it up. I recommend Newbies to use this map if traveling to AC for the 1st time. Many of the bars on Perimeter Rd, start to open between 10 and 2. And open until about 10 pm - 12 am. The closer you get to Fields, the later they open, usually around 4 - 6 pm and stay open til the AM, some as later til 5am. I'm in my hotel pretty early with my girls... didn't travel to sit in a bar with a girl, traveling to be in the room with girl(s)Again great map, thanks

I am one of many who never post on this forum but uses its great knowledge for my upcoming adventures. I felt it was time to deliver my one and only FR (haha field report. I know the lingo).
Before I begin I just want to say that out of all the threads I've read and taken advice from, the Philippines is the best. I especially love how its regulated. This is my story.
I only spent two days in AC (yes I know, a very short time), and I must say I had an amazing time! If only all the world were as marvelous as this one city, things might not be so bad. I was supposed to have 3 days but a flight delay changed that. Things out of my control I do not get upset about.
OK. So I arrived in Manila around 1:30 am. Walked out of the airport to a guy hailing taxis for people. Thanks to this site I was aware of appropriate pricing to get to AC. I didn't want to take a bus or anything like that. I wanted the straight and direct route. Anyway, the man hails a big van and tells me its 7500 php. I laughed in his face and attempted to walk off. He begged me to stay. Lowering the price. And lowering the price. And lowering the price. Until he went to 3000 php. Which, I think, is pretty standard. (ABC charges 3600 php).
There was no traffic at this time of night. I mean none. No construction. No nothing.
Arrived at my hotel. Apollonia Royale. Took about 115 min. Dead tired from a 26 hour travel. I so badly wanted to walk around but instead fell asleep on my bed. I suppose this is a good time to talk about Apollonia. Nothing fancy. I got the deluxe room off a hotel search engine website (LOL) for I believe about $38 usd. Not bad right. Two free bottles of water. Restaurant on site that I did not visit. Seemed decent though. No pool. And hotel is located near everything. 10 min standard walk to the walking street area of fields. I walk fast, as I love to walk so it took me about 7 min.
Woke up around 7:30 am. Told myself I will get my day started at 8 am. And so I did. Took a shower. Got dressed. Walked to the McDonalds at the end of walking street. Got a #2 for 108 php. Say What I liked this place already LOL. By the time I finished eating it was about 9:30 am. The walk to McDonalds gave me an opportunity to see walking street and the countless bars. On the way back from McDonalds I walked down Raymond st and Burgos to see what was what.
Walking back down Teodoro St to my hotel I was approached by a woman offering massages out of Body Bliss Spa. Price was 300 php so I said "why not". Girl was cute. About a 7. Massage was good. I'd give it an 8. At the end she offered a he for 1000 php total. I said no thanks. Brought it down to 800 php and I relented. He was standard. (Not in a "I'm in love" kinda way, but a "you're a really cool person" kinda way. I told her I'd be back for her tomorrow. If you can stay there just do it. You won't regret it. After getting settled in the new digs I walked down to the perimeter bars. Walked in about 3 and left. Wasn't feeling the vibe. Then I walked into The Drillshack. Told the mamason (or however the hell you spell it) I wanted 2 girls. She immediately grabbed two to sit with me. One was freaking hot! A solid 9. The other, about a 7. 5. I got drunk as sh* Had like 6 beers in an hour time frame. A big part of Filipino personality and culture, is they are "shy. " This is the English word they use for it, it doesn't really mean the same thing as a native English speaker would refer to by that word; it can mean a number of things, including self-conscious or embarrassed, or not wanting to look bad.
The way that this manifests in older Pinoys, is if they don't speak English well, (often the older folks don't) they are "shy" to speak to foreigners. For the guys, this means basically ignoring you and pretending you don't exist, to cover, with kind of a macho attitude. They aren't actually bad guys, that's just the way they deal with it. They are NOT allowed to operate inside of the Clark Development Corporation zone (CDC) They only go as far as SM Mall before the entrance to the Clark zone.
There are nice air conditioned Jeepneys that operate from the Astro Park Jeepney stand behind Checkpoint.
These are White modern jeepneys that are pretty long and new (LOL) as opposed to the rest of the JUNK jeepneys that are allowed on the road all over Angeles spouting clouds of diesel exhaust.

It is next to the Brass knob I beleive, I just saw the sign and I canceled my $2700 ride to Manila. When I was at the bus station in Dau there were taxis offering me 1000 pesos to Manila.
I don't know where Dau is, but if you read under one of my posts less than a month ago, there is a full size bus that takes you to Manila from Angeles for $600 or 650, leaves at 1 pm. Good comfortable ride and they make one stop at a rest area with lots of food places, MCdonalds being one of them.For many, p1000 for a taxi is a better deal than 600 for a bus.

As stated trikes are not allowed in to Clark. You can catch a taxi car directed opposite of the FRONT door to the new Chowking located in the plaza strip center. Be careful, you have to cross 3 lanes of traffic near Jolibees to the island of taxi Corolla cars lined up. You can get their cell for later pick up at your hotel or take them then. I think the cost is P350. This is one island over from the jeepneys to and from Dau.
From the airport back there many cars available as you step out of the terminal. P350-400.The point is that I will have business meetings near by airport but I'd like to stay in a place where the action is. Taking taxi to airport and back 4 days in a row doesn't seem to be a good deal so I'm looking for a cheaper option. Where I'm different is that I'm US educated so I don't share that mentally. So the whole time here I just play off as being a Korean since they are more generally accepted here in AC.
Here are my observations and opinions.
1. The plane ride into Clark from Hong Kong was pretty standard. But as soon as I get off the plane, I realized this is very much a 3rd world country. You can read all about it through research but nothing is like seeing it for yourself. My last trip to a third world country was in Jamaica. The moment walked out the airport, I was in caution / alert mode. Getting bombarded by solicitors for ride. I feel like nothing is standard and everything is based on bartering and negotiating. Ended up paying a lot more than I should for a short ride to my hotel.
2. I'm staying at the Apollonia Royale hotel and realized how far off Fields ave it is. Mind you I'm staying by myself and the hotel is located down a dark street at night full of solicitors, massage places and beggars. The hotel is fine but walking back at night means you have to be alert. At this point I am still not comfortable getting into a trike. Also my room is just right behind the front desk off the lobby so it is not quiet or secluded. Didn't feel very private while having guest in the room. More on that below.
3. The place outside of the walking street area is shady at best but I never felt unsafe. Being a lone wolf who is Chinese, you kinda have to be cautious. I can fit in when mongering in China but here I stand out like a sore thumb.
4. Some parts of AC is nice. The SM Clark is incredible and is better than Mall of America. People in there are civilized and makes me feel right at home. Lots of familiar shops and restaurants is a big plus. Especially during day time when its hot as hell, it was my go to place rather than wondering the streets.
5. Checked out a couple of a gogo places on walking street. Feels like you can't just go sit down to have a beer and observe the scenery. You have to get bombarded by girls wanting drinks from you. I said fine, even in a strip club in the US you are expected to throw some dollar bills out so I was OK with that.

Final thoughts: As mentioned this is probably my final tour before closing down the mongering days and really focus on being a great husband and father to my 2 yo daughter. I was really excited about my trip to AC but what I came out of this was eye opening. I think with all of the turn offs from this place and seeing the livelihood of AC, it makes me feel sad but at the same time feeling how incredibly lucky that I am. Not trying to take a stab at the people in this place as everyone has been friendly. My previous Mongering trips always left me wanting more but AC really make me feel the opposite. I think this trip will really help me move on.
AC was only the first leg of my trip, I still have Bangkok and Pattaya booked (lone wolf) in about a week. Sort of dreading it now since people there doesn't quite have the same English skills and it is even more of a wild wild west there compared to AC.

Based on your new information you can take the local 14 person passenger bus service to Clark. I am not sure if it is 1 route or 2. 8 pesos from Checkpoint to Friendship, not sure how much for the other bus. There may be one bus from Checkpoint to Clark. Be sure to ask for receipts to maintain business expense account.
AC certainly has a grit and grime to it. I can remember my first time here. All the "deferred maintenance", poverty, beggars, vitamin V salesmens, non-stop smoking drunk ex-pats and on and on was quite a bit shocking and overwhelming experience. The best thing about AC IMHO is that you can be by yourself if you wish. Many times I have sat at Kokomo's, Phillie's or Lanie's hang out bar watching the world go by. I sit there and people walk by like I.

I visited AC back in April 2013 and had a blast. This was back when I was in the military. Different mindset. Nowadays I'm a civilian, make great money and love my life. The desire to return to the Philippines isn't as strong. However I can't deny that it was an amazing experience.

However most guys do not appreciate the art of doing nothing and must be entertained at all times. I have the ability to waste many days doing nothing but sleeping and sitting by the pool at the hotel It takes years to master this art.And let us not forget how many empty hours can be productively frittered away while engaging in inane conversations with equally indolent expats staying at the hotel, many of whom are also engaged in honing their whiling away time skills. My problem is not the fact that here's jothing to do; like many of you I too have served our government in a consulting capacity and have well developed lethargy skills. My problem is fearing that after 3-4 days of total emptiness my brain will turn permanently into pudding.

For me, it's about getting away from my work and home to be in a place I can relax if I wanted to or go all out and be a non stop party animal. I've stayed in AC for weeks at a time and never felt truly bored. I'm there to get away from the stress of my job and just relax by the pool or go and watch the girls. It's the only reason why I'm in AC.
Have not been back to AC in the last year.
Have the Santos or Raymond bars improved? Or they still dying a slow death?
Last time I was there yr ago only one bar open on Santos with 3 fruglies working.
Raymond St was mainly closed except for 1-2 bars with 2 fruglies in each bar and none under 30 yrs old.
Not sure if things have improved but I figured it couldn't be any worst than what I saw last time.

And it might be they do nothing on the premises since raids, too. Concept has been destroyed by raids.

Not sure if things have improved but I figured it couldn't be any worst than what I saw last time.Currently 2 bars open on Raymond and at least 3 on Santos. All run day / night shifts but girls will drift in and out and some may not show up every day. So depending upon when you visit you may or may not find something to your liking but IMHO one can usually find someone fuckable. YMMV of course.

Irrespective of new rules and regulations, bar raids, arresting of girls, mama sans and managers and owners Angeles city as a monger in destination will stay. Only way it will die is if they close all the bars and venues.

Too many people are entirely dependent one way or another the way it is. Whole economy runs on visiting tourists be it be bars, girls, massages, hotels, restaurants, shopping etc.
As far girls there is a continuous supply from myriad of places in Philippines. When I go to provinces almost everybody has heard of Angeles city. So much so many of the normal girls I have met want me to take them to Angeles city to see what it is. I have taken couple of girls but they hated it.
As for your query nobody can really give you a right answer about which bars are open, which bars has good looking girls, which BJ bars are open etc. You need to hit the road yourself and see.

It all depends on the reason why we visit places like AC.

Some people need to complain to feel good. True, there is not much to do in AC, but I only go there for one thing. To meet and spend nice times with nice women. The food isn't the best, not enough veggies available, but I wil only be there for a week. I will be eating organic (DATY).

BUT. . . . A blanket statement of the whole economy (of Angeles City) being dependent on the tourist dollars. . . (? ? ? ?).
Sure. . . The girls / the overpriced TRIKEs / the Vitamin salesmen / the beggars / some hotels & restaurants etc. Would NOT do well if the Entertainment district were to shut down BUT most mongers don't see much of Angeles past the McDo at the end of Fields and Margarita Station or Ponytails at the other end.
A large amount of business takes place outside of that area with regular everyday Filipinos going about their business in an everyday mode.
Just as an example. . . . How much of the business at Nepo or Jenra Malls in downtown Angeles comes from the Entertainment district?
Or. . . How many of the students at Holy Angel University / Angeles University Foundation are there studying so that they can find work in Fields?
If so. . . How do any of the other places in the Philippines exist with the "BIG" tourist dollars?

So, for me, the free time and lack of structure post no problem. For those that do, its the same problem anywhere, and makes retirement a *****, for those that are there. A massive hurricane called "Maysak" just past Micronesia and will most likely hit Northern Philippines on Sunday. Current forecast has "Maysak" strengthening tomorrow but then weakening before hitting the Philippines on Sunday April 5th.

The heart of Santos Street ST bars seems to have been ripped out. I only spotted 2 down there now. A lame looking Black Pearl, and Perfect Life. Better looking choices. Excluding the 1-girl bar on the corner of Pac Brz.
So I wonder if anyone knows of any others down Fields (except for Raymonde St ones)? Also, anyone know anything about Ahleah Massage (opp Pac Brz Hotel) - would be handy if the do STs. Or Honky Tonk Bar?

Both are reasonably priced and recommended.

I met up with Dashing Don last night and squired him around town. Once again, I tried to tell him about tipping, or lack thereof. What does he do? He starts by tipping twenty percent in the restaurants. If that were not bad enough I took him to Pony Tails and pointed out the white tagged girls are every bit as nice as the green tags. For once he listened to me and bar fined a white tagged girl for 2 k. This morning I meet up with him for breakfast at Margarita Station. Even though I told him the customary tip is 100 pesos he actually bragged to me he tipped her 1000 pesos. There's an okay Indian restaurant next to Phillies Sport Bar, down the side road. Also a cheap Middle Eastern Restaurant (The Red Sea) down by where Blue Nile once was (McD end of Fields).
