I just came back from a trip to Phnom Penh after going to AC twice in the last 15 months. I already wrote a detailed trip report in the PP thread which you can find by searching through my articles. But I think it's also interesting to reflect on the pros and cons of AC vs PP. I know a lot of you guys here have been to PP but a summary of the differences between the two cities would help infrequent travelers who spend most of their time in the western world. Many people are like me, we don't have a lot of time to spend on vacations so choosing where to spend vacation time is important. That was a big decision I had to make last month: given only 2 weeks in between jobs, where should I go? This isn't a comparison meant for those who stay for long periods of time in SE Asia or come repeatedly. I'm not qualified to give those kinds of opinions.
AC Pros:
- Girls in general are prettier although there are definitely exceptions. For sure this is dependent on personal tastes. See notes below regarding how I made that judgment.
- Girl fees are more predictable. Just comparing ST prices, in AC it's 2000-3000 p for BF, 300 for LD. Or 1500-2000 for a HiSo / Walking St freelancer without drinks. This comes out to $66 maximum but often lower depending on where you find the girl. In PP you may end up buying multiple drinks for multiple ladies in the same bar $40+$10 BF + potentially lots of drinks + tuk tuk rides (since the bar area isn't concentrated). Of course you have the power to limit those costs by refusing to buy more drinks for her friends.
- Red light area is concentrated and easy to navigate. All your major choices are along Fields and Perimeter Rd, including FL options.
- Good freelancer options in terms of price, service and looks.
- Girls speak relatively good English.
- You can watch dances in a bar even without being accompanied by a girl. In PP, there's relatively little to do in a bar unless you're buying drinks for many girls at the same time. If you're being accompanied by 1 girl, she often doesn't speak English so she needs others to help her, which means drinks for the other girl too.
- In the bars, you can see the girls' bodies before calling them over.
AC Cons:
- Very very limited non-girl daytime activities. There are some like visiting Clark or the SM Mall, maybe flying if you want to spend more money, but that's really it. That's AC's biggest drawback and it's a pretty big negative for infrequent travelers on a vacation.
- Food is pretty bad. Too many Korean restaurants and not enough other flavors. Filipino food is way too sweet and oily.
- Have be sneaky about going there. You may have to tell nosey friends, coworkers or family members you're going to Manila or somewhere else.
- Cigarette smoke everywhere.
PP Pros:
- Lots of daytime activities, especially for short trips. I'm doing a separate report just on the daytime activities.
- No stigma going there since most people come for normal tourism.
- A little more developed than AC, but some places are equally run down.
- No need to change currency if you're from America, which means saving time and not having a lot extra local currency at the end of your trip.
- Pretty decent food choices. Khmer food resembles southern Chinese or Thai cuisine, so if you like that it's not a huge change. Plus you have other Asian and Western choices as well.
- While most girls are business-like, a few girls treat you like a real boyfriend, which means they can get clingy. For some people that might be a bad thing though.
- No smoking in the bars and only a little in restaurants.
PP Cons:
- Bar area is not concentrated, leading potentially to more transportation costs.
- Can't see the girls' bodies right away. They're more open to showing you their bodies after a drink.
- Girls are not as good looking on average (personal tastes). See notes.
- Difficult to communicate with many of the girls. You're interested in a lady but can't even ask her basic questions. This leads to her "mama" helping to translate, which means tips / drink for her.
- Costs are somewhat unpredictable because the bar doesn't set the total cost unlike in AC. There are some basic ranges though so you won't ever have to fork over 100+ dollars unless you always accept the girl's asking price or you go around buying ladydrinks everywhere.
- Air condition is not always found at the restaurants here, which often makes for a very warm lunch time. The bars do though.
- Not all hotels call you up before the girl leaves to make sure she hasn't stolen stuff / ran from a LT session.
- More scams than in AC, for example, from tuk tuk drivers. Although AC has its share of scammy freelancers, if you follow some simple protocols, it's easy to make sure you get what you want from AC bargirls or freelancers.
- Shittier freelancer choices: they're either old / ugly, more expensive than the bars, or scams. The motorcycle guys can bring you girls but you have to be very careful (see my PP trip report).
Notes: I attached a photo of a promo model in Aeon Mall in Phnom Penh just to use as an example. She's good looking but not a 9 or 10. From my perspective she's still better looking than 90% of the girls in the PP bars. In AC she probably beats out maybe just 75% of the bargirls. Those numbers are not really precise but it gives you some idea.

Just returned from my AC visit, and I have to say each trip is a different experience. Smoke in bars etc. Is my #1 bugbear with AC and Ph in general, many Koreans I find are smokers with no regard to neighboring people. As cheap as cigarettes are in Ph, it is a non-essential item which makes it a luxury item for many Ph people. When I enter a bar, I first scope who is smoking and sit far away as possible.
I am always weary of the non-girl daytime activities and stock up on movies, tv, etc on my portable HDD to catch up with. Somehow, I never get to watch any of them because I am too busy sipping margaritas by the pool, sleeping all day, watching hotel movies (usually reruns I have not seen in a long time and fun to watch again), movies at SM Clark (movies are very cheap in Ph) etc. Etc.

I wrapped up my 4 nights in AC on Friday. I had a couple of drinks with the GROs at The Living Room lounge on the 7th floor of my hotel, The Queens. Bars that need urgent updating and some decent girls that are not over 30 and fat.
Touch of class bar, probably the worst bar I visited in terms of girls.
Gentlemans bar, probably 2nd worst bar I visited, old old ladies.
Ice bar, although this bar has a very good foreign manager he has lost control and the girls have taken over doing as they please, no lookers.
Babydolls bar, needs urgent revamp, new girls.
Candy bar, very quiet indeed, 2 customers and a handful of mainly older past their sell by date dancers.

High Society club, as most know this is a late night disco type club, does not have bargirls but has a few mediocre freelancers, the better looking girls are sat in the private seating area and are strictly hands off, most of these girls are sponsored by Angeles big business owners on a night out with their friends, any attempt to approach will have the doormen blocking access, in truth some nights ok, some nights very poor pickings, the clientele is almost 90% younger koreans and malays and what is available definitely prefers these punters to the older westerners that sometimes can be seen in small numbers here.

Here in Davao, and also in Manila, traffic is heavy as folks flee the cities for other destinations, and lots of commercial establishments are fairly calm. I don't know the extent to which this applies to the bars, but I imagine that lots of girls left to spend time with their families, given that Holy Week is a major religious holiday here.

Day One: Southern Cross "shuttle" from Manila to Angeles (it was actually a van this time instead of their bus). Stayed at Central Park for the first time. Other than only having two elevators (long waits), it was a very nice hotel. Bar hopped to get a feel for Angeles, which bar had the hottest girls (my preference is close to 20 years of age, petite, no babies, and pale). Dollhouse had the most girls, as usual, with lots of cuties. Crystal Palace and Atlantis also had some cuties. Didn't recognize very many girls, which was a good thing. I've had drama with girls from Centauro and Club Asia claiming me as "their customer" and causing a scene if I pick another girl. Took a girl from Club XS (3000 plus 500 tip for 2 hours, one pop).
Day Two: Went to the daytime bars (Para Para, Hollywood, Color, and Color 2) Took a girl from Color 2 (2000 + 500 tip for short time = 2 pm to 6 pm, one pop) After she left I went to dinner at the rooftop pool / restaurant in the hotel. Food was okay then went back to the street. Picked up a girl from Bad Boy (3000 + 500 for long time = 2 am to 7 am, two pops).

Conclusion: The magic of Angeles might be wearing off or I went during a slow time. Plenty of cute girls and lots of new girls. But the real hotties and sweet girls weren't there. Also, ran into a couple of girls from my first trip 5 years ago, which was a little depressing. Also saw some videos on YouTube about Angeles and recognized some of the girls, again depressing. I also didn't see some of the girls I was hoping to see, who were amazing (not in looks, but GFE), and the girls that were there didn't match their GFE'ness, so that may also be a factor in why I wasn't too thrilled with my visit. Angeles is still better than other places I've visited (Singapore, Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, US, Hawaii and Mexico) in terms of price and GFE, but I may need to take a break to get that zest back. Also, the door girls at Club XS some of the hottest girls. Doll House and Crystal Palace also had some really hot girls, but you had to get there super early to get them (6 pm to 8 pm).
Day Eight: Southern Cross back to Manila (this time it was the shuttle, and it was packed, good for them, normally it's half empty). Took an Uber to Airforce One (first time), really liked it. 10 girls on a Sunday afternoon, 8 were cute and all were in their 20's (2000 special daytime rate plus 2000 tip, more than Angeles, but cheaper than P. Burgos). The girl said I had up to 2 hours in the room, but I left in about an hour to catch my flight. She also told me she needed graduation money, 8000 pesos, so she wanted me to pop 4 times with her (2000 per pop). Luckily, Angeles and P. Burgos tired me out so getting one pop was all I had to give.
Next stop Thailand.
I usually hire a car and driver from AC to Manila before leaving for home from NAIA. This usually cost me around P3000. I am exploring if I want to fly from Clark to Boracay and a few days later fly from Boracay to Manila. This would cost around P5000 for both flights and I would see Boracay for the first time and avoid the traffic from AC to Manila.
Has anyone ever done this? Is Boracay OK for a few days.

So do to airlines being delayed I got to manila three hours later then what I was suppose to. So I got to Angeles City Around 5 am. Got to my hotel called the Hidden Pearl. A complete piece of shit. Our preference is either Bantayan, Malapascua, or Camiguin (which has an airport for quicker access).I find Boarcay expensive DG and prefer Suragao, Palawan etc. Would not go there again but that is me not many others. If you have a couple of extra days to be taking planes, taxis, buses then boats sure it may be paradise. But from my research Boracay was literally less of a headache trying to figure out the logistics. Also in a lot of other places a halfway decent place to stay cost a lot more.

Camiguin has a flight from Cebu. Or from Cebu, its a taxi ride hour-and-half to Hagnaya pier for a ferry to Bantayan. For Malapascua, charter a bangka if you're short on time. There's no shortage of excellent hostelry in any of these places, many European-owned. And there's half decent things for a budget tourist like yourself. Siargao (with an airport) is also nice for a few days. El Nido on Palawan strictly for the scenery, but its infested with Isrealis.

For me AC can be described as disneyland for men. There are lots of filipinas to ride. If you go on the same ride too often it gets boring.
So for my most recent visit I was met at Clark by a repeat performer from a previous visit. When I say performer she knows to dress well for the return of her beau and to look like she hasn't seen her lover for years. In AC you can have whatever fantasy you want.
She takes me back to the hotel and it really is game on from 40 minutes after Clark touchdown.
Other highlights: Lollipop bar seemed to have some good stock of girls and the head dancer seems very tight. Took one girl from here.
Tropix I am starting to also like as a regular. Over two night took one dancer and one waitress from here. Barfine 2 k and 3 K (white / green badges).
Platinum (Perimeter, old Firepit) I needed to take some company on a trip to Manila. BF'd two girls so that my preferred girl would not feel the need to entertain me while I am working. In the end I kept these girls too long and I sent them on their way when I returned. I think barfine was P2 k each.
Also caught up with some callbacks from earlier visits.

As I've said before here, I'm not a great fan of AC, as for me it's basically a slum surrounding some bars, and thoroughly mediocre restaurants. However, I do like hanging out with a friend there, and so returned--as always to ABC Hotel--after an absence of about 6 months. Aside from the Aqua Club at the top of tower 4 at ABC, nothing much has changed from what. I saw. Same bars--though some with different names--same mix of punters (perhaps a few more Koreans on Walking St. and at the hotel than last time--and same hit or miss bar scene.
The Aqua Club, on the 9th floor of ABC Tower 4 has, I think become the "in" place in Angeles. The ladies love it; it's pretty crowded all day long, with guys spending huge sums of money to party with their ladies in the cabanas, the public hot tub and the infinity pool. Even during the week days, and the week nights, it attracts a fair number of FLs, typically better dressed and slightly classier than those found elsewhere. I'm told on the weekends the situation improves dramatically regarding FLs, but decided not to stay to test the theory as 2 nights is my ideal stay. The Aqua Club is however, the nicest night spot / bar I've seen in Angeles, and clearly puts every other venue to shame. On the other hand, it's more expensive than the other venues, and if you're up for the "point and click" ambience of a gogo bar, then probably no need to go. Last night, despite a heavy rain and a strong wind, the jacuzzi that forms part of the bar was full with 2 Korean dudes and 5 ladies that they had acquired. They were drinking a lot, and I didn't see anyone hit the rest rooms, so I leave it to the collective imagination of this board to conjecture where the urinary output from all those drinks ended up.
I did hit WS for two nights running, and found the mix of available options about as I had remembered it. A few skinny / no baby girls mixed in among those whose best days were long behind them. Patience pays however, and I was not disappointed on either night, finding one at Atlantis and one at Insomnia who met my search criteria.
Yesterday, for the first time in years, I went on an afternoon crawl on Perimeter with a couple of friends. It was good fun and there were in fact a couple of ladies in Garfield, Candy Bar and another the name of which I can't remember that were take-away possibilities. I had fun just goofing around and it was a relatively low cost, enjoyable afternoon, with a morning beginning with a first-ever breakfast at the VFW, which was pretty good.
I arrived at ABC on Wednesday afternoon, and the hotel was fully booked; not a rare occurrence acccording to some of the staff I know there. Tower 4, the newest addition, usually fills up first apparently, and there are evidently lots of guys willing to fork over Php7,500 a night for the suite rooms. The dominant demographic still appears to be North American and European white guys in their mid forties to late fifties, but there are increasing numbers of Korean guests and some Japanese as well. I'm fairly fussy about hotels so I doubt I would ever stay anywhere else in that city.
My overall impression of the city hasn't changed much. I enjoy two to three nights there, but three is my upper limit of tolerance.

The selection hasn't changed in years, the wine list is pathetic, and the overall food quality is mediocre. I was actually discussing this with one of the foreign managers of the hotel, who is well-aware of the complaints. The restaurant is operated by a concessionaire, and for reasons no one quite understands, the hotel owner is reluctant to replace that company with another. The reason, I think for the virtually empty restaurant is that better quality at cheaper prices can be found elsewhere.

It is the law of supply and demand working at its best. The trikes have gotten the prices high enough for Grab cars to enter the business. I would short the stock in trikes as I think this will be the end of the high trike prices. Grab cars or similar ones are here to stay.

BD.Someone does have control over CRK transportation. Over the years going to CRK with hotel cars or hired cars I have been asked to sit in the front seat to look like they are dropping off a friend. I hope DU30 can get a full understanding of the overall corruption that is choking off his airports and kill it.
Personally I have found tipping adds a level of reliability for me.
I don't have the overall history of the trikes prices going up. Probably like which came first, the chicken or the egg? Either way the 100 pesos fares were getting good. Like anywhere else, everyone decided to jump in on the action. Even the city with high permit fees. Now you have an over supply of trikes sharing the same demand or even less demand fighting for survival. Little do they know they have paved the way for Grab.
The high trike prices have made the entry of Grab a lot easier just by comparison shopping. Also Grab adds an element of security with a documented driver and record of the transaction. Grab is still in its infancy stage. Surprisingly the drivers have told me most of their customers were Filipinos as oppose to foreigners!

The smoke was so dense that it was hard to see exactly what buildings were burning. From the black smoke I deduced it had to have been rubber or tires burning. From some news articles the fire was limited to the tire storage area.

I made my first trip to the PI 30 years ago. I started in Cebu and spent about 3 weeks making my way to Puerto Galera.
And then to AC by Rabbit bus. I was dropped in town at the station and caught a trike to a hotel about 500 meters short.
Of where the McDs is at the bottom of Fields. When asked to pay he wanted around 4 times what I expected. I called.
Him a thieving prick and tried to enlist the aid of the hotel guard in getting a fair price. The guard just shrugged.
And said that is a fair price here so I reluctantly paid.
A few days later I finally figured it out. The base was still open then and while beer and pussy were cheap the yanks.
Had gotten into the habit of paying these guys a dollar for any trip, no matter how short. To this day the price is.
Disproportionately high compared to the rest of the country.
And ever since then I have never taken the pricks unless I have no other choice! Now you know.

Was partying for a week in Angeles over Songkran period, staying at ABC hotel. The new Aqua Beach Club on the roof of Tower 4 is a great place to take girls and hangout in the daytime or evening. My last day I hired one the VIP Cabana's in the corner for 8,000 peso consumables. Downstairs in the Cabana was private lockers, showers, towels etc, and what we termed the BJ alcove with a bit of privacy. You can get 14 people of more comfortably in the Cabana. I don't like paying higher trike prices myself in comparison to other cities. But who says they are comparable? Also we are talking about pesos. It always comes out in the wash. Overall AC is a bargain with lower cost hotel rooms and BF.
As I posted earlier I think Grab cars are the future in AC and it would not have happened if not for the high trike prices.
Btw, you can book Grab trikes for less than street prices.

Long and late post. So the current country I work in celebrates Easter, but I wanted to go somewhere cheap and warm for it. Unfortunately, it wasn't until a few days prior to my trip that I remembered what a massive holiday it was in PH, I assumed everything was closed and everyone went home for semana santa just like in Latin america. I asked about how the scene was in AC to gauge if it was worth going to. But it didn't matter, I would make the trip regardless and just relax and have fun. It turns out from my experience that it was much better than when I went during high season a year ago. I just spent one night in Manila (you can see my report there in the Makati forum), and headed out to AC early. It was a quick and easy trip. I took a nap to have energy for the night. I went out to Phillies for dinner. The service and food was actually pretty good, I highly recommend it. I wanted to check out some places that I haven't been before this time around, but first, I had to stop by Qbar first to see if any of the girls from there are still working there (I knew they won't be, the turnover is huge, but a guy can hope right? Qbar is much more lively and happening than when I was here a year ago. The girls are much better quality than before, and the place is packed with customers. I talk to one of the girls, who seems to be a big deal there. Another long post following up from my last one.
I was staying at the Devera hotel, unfortunately there were no windows in the room, so when I finally woke up from my previous night, it was already well late into the afternoon. I arrived in Manila last night at 9 pm. I went outside to get a yellow taxi to Victory Liner bus station. What happened to the yellow taxi stand? It was gone. But there was something strange going on. The meter said 268 pesos. I asked him how much the ride was and he said 268. I said man this ride was to Pasay, not Quezon City. This is not my first time here. I am here every month and the ride is around 100 pesos. I handed him 150 pesos and told him that he was lucky I did not have change or he would be getting less than that. Then I got out.
I walked inside the bus station. I waited in the Olongapo line behind one lady that took at least 10 minutes. It looked like she was buying 10 tickets. This fucking place needs to get automated. The lady behind the counter had to write out 10 tickets. In 2017 this type of thing should be done with a couple of strokes on a keyboard. I got to the front of the line and told the lady I was going to Dau. She said the Dau line is the next one over. Son of a. It happens to me everytime. They only have 3 lines that you can buy tickets to go anywhere, but the 3 lines only have the name of one city on the window. So while I was in the Olongapo line, I should have been in the Baguio line.
Well lucky that there was nobody else in that line so I just moved over. Told the lady I was going to Dau and she started writing out the ticket. I asked her what time the bus left. She said 11:30. Fuck that noise. It was only 10 pm and it was hot as all get out in that bus station. I got money. I would be damn if I waited out there an hour and a half. That would mean I would not arrive in Angeles until about 3 am. I told her to cancel the ticket and I would just take a taxi. In classic Filipino fashion she kept writing the ticket out. I said ma'am I will just take a taxi. I do not need the ticket.
Having read Dg's report on Grab, I downloaded the app before I came. I walked outside and tried to get one to AC. 5700 pesos? Hell nawl man! I switched to the Uber app and it did not give me a fee, but said surge pricing 1.8X. Let me just find a taxi dropping someone off and get them to take me. One tout asked where I was going and when I told him he said 3500 pesos. I said man no way. I am aware of guys paying 2500 back and forth to AC so I knew better.
There were plenty of white taxis around, but no yellow ones. I finally saw a yellow taxi dropping someone off and asked him how much to go to Angeles. He said 3000. I said no way man. 2500. As he declined in an attempt for further negotiations, another driver that was in earshot jumped all over the offer of 2500. Just then I changed it to 2000. He said okay but you pay tolls. Tolls are 200 (ended up being 20 for the first and 153 for the second). I said okay. We got into his car and he tried to change the deal to me paying tolls for both ways. I said dude I am only going one way. Get someone else to come back with you to pay the return tolls. So this was to be my second time taking a taxi to AC. Years ago on my first trip me and two wingmen took one going, but I met up with a Filipino friend of mine while there who taught me how to take the bus for 1/12th of the price and that is how I have been doing it ever since.
While on the highway in the taxi I had the bright idea to swap the sim cards in my two phones. I have one US phone that I get free international internet with and one other phone that I use for local SIMs. My worst nightmare came to pass. As I was changing cards the driver hit a bump and everything fell out of my lap. I lost my US SIM. I looked and looked and looked. I took the back seat up while the driver was driving and could not find it anywhere. They make the damn things so small these days. Oh well. I will not be back in the States until the middle of next month so I will get a new one then. (A few minutes ago I called my US carrier to turn off the SIM in case someone else found it and guess what. The girl that answered was in a Manila call center.).
I arrived at my hotel at midnight thinking I would still be on EDSA had I waited for that 11:30 bus. When I checked in they asked for my ID. I said shit. I am here every month and you guys are still asking me for ID? I went up to the room and relaxed for about an hour then decided to head out to High Society. Oh. Almost forgot. The taxi driver could not make a left to get to Fields/Perimeter so I got out and walked across. I saw many freelancers in the place between JJs and Europa. It kind of looks like a park but it is not a park. It is more of a courtyard with kiosks around it. It is directly across from the jeepney station.

Last year when I put in Angeles city as my destination at Manila airport it said something like out of range. I had a hunch it might work if I walked a little bit away from the airport, but with the all the chaos around and having my baggage, it didn't seem like a wise thing to do. I made the mistake of counting on uber and not arranging a ride with the hotel, Wild orchid rates are around 2700 I think, its the way to go. I had to take a taxi and the taxi mafia at arrivals had flyers showing 4000 - 4500. I went upstairs to departures to try the age old trick. One guy told me 3000 and I hopped in and as we were on our way he got on his cell phone a couple of times and told me he misquoted and its now 4000. At that point, it was whatever. It was during the day on a Friday and the ride took me over 4 hrs in the atrocious Manila traffic and construction along the highway. The traffic was so bad he took a few diversions after some inquiries along the way. And we got stopped by a motorbike cop for really no reason at the roundabout closer to Angeles. He made a wrong turn or something, I couldn't tell. It took another 20 to 30 minutes for him to sort it out with the cop. He had to pay around 400 pesos as bribe. It was little unnerving sitting in the taxi while this was going on. I did have an enjoyable week after that, so all ends well.

I was at ABC for a couple of nights this week, and I found that the Aqua Lounge is growing on me. It's a great place to relax and people watch. On Friday afternoon, for example, I watched as 3 youngish Korean guys, who had rented a cabana, partied with (yes I counted) 27 bar girls, likely drawn from Korean bars. The girls had a great time frolicking in the pool, and those of us sitting around the pool and chilling out had fun watching them. It costs about Php16,000 to rent a cabana for half a day, and the entire amount is consumable. I'm guess that with 27 girls plus three guys consuming an endless parade of drinks, the Php16,000 didn't last long, and the final bill must have been huge.
The food at Aqua--as well as in the rest of the hotel--leaves a lot to be desired, but aside from that, I enjoy the dedication to hedonism that the hotel represents.

For AC generally I use white bus loop line departs from NAIA-III. It is hassle free 20 php ride enters in Genesis Bus line station beside taft AVE MRT. In the end of the Airport White Loop line, there a Genesis bus always standing for Baguio. Just ride on and drop over at Dau for AC.

From Sampaloc to Subic via Dau and the SCTexpressway cost 243 p and the trip took approx. 2. 5 hrs to Dau, including 1 HR getting on to the NLEX. Can you tell us who flies presumably from MNL to CRK at all, let alone for this fare?
Certainly your hotel in AC will arrange a car, but I doubt it will cost much, if any, less than the 2200 p that Mr E paid. At Terminal 1,the white 'coupon' taxis quoted 860 p to Ermita, and the yellow 'airport metered' taxi hit 480p on the meter for the same trip. To give people a comparison, the opening offer from a bog-standard taxi from my hotel back to the airport was 400 p!
Possibly some cold hard figures might explainp!OK, my turn to explain: departing from metro NY and arriving at night -- either 8:55 pm if thru HKG, or 11:00 pm if connection made at Narita -- I'm more than glad to see the hotel driver waiting at arrivals for the princely sum of. 2600 pesos! Actually, no matter what time I arrive, cannot conceive of getting to AC any other way.

Yesterday I decided to head up to the perimeter bars. I actually wanted to go to the bar where the girls suck dick under the table, but after searching the thread for a while I could not find that report about it. (I need to start writing these things in my phone as I come across them.) I did, however, find a report by Java Man that speaks of the perimeter BJ bars. So I took notes on that and headed out. I jumped in a trike and told him to take me to Candy Bar.
When I got out of the trike chicks from other bars were calling me trying to get me to come over. I pretty much ignored them. I went in and had a rum and coke for 70 pesos. I left out of there to find the BJ bars.

Being the buildin club of ABC hotel. I assume their girls quality are high? How much is the lady drink and overnight bar fine?The girls who come to Aqua are freelancers, so there's no bar fine and there are no ladies drinks, as this is just a bar / club and not designed specifically as a pick-up joint. There appear to be lots of ladies coming there to score, but not all of the women coming there solo or in small groups of friends are in the P4 P business. Some come just to hang out and have zero interest in a business transaction, so it's wise to observe for a while before you go all out to pick someone up. Those who are trolling for customers tough are fairly obvious. On the weekends, the freelancer parade can start in the late afternoon and continue pretty much throughout the evening.
Aqua is open to everyone, both hotel guests and non-residents. Entry is free for hotel guests, and for men not staying in the hotel, the entrance fee is Php250 all of which is consumable. Non hotel guests (including the ladies) are given plastic bracelets, and all drinks are charged to a bracelet, with the expectation that the tab will be settled prior to exiting the 7th floor. In fact the tab must be settled at the exit, prior to release of the electronic lock at the gate, permitting access to the elevators.
For those who haven't been, the club is accessed by an elevator in tower 4, to the 7th floor, where the bracelets are doled out at a cashier's kiosk. Visitors are then admitted through a locked gate, and must walk up two flights of stairs to the club itself. The entrance fee also includes access to the huge infinity pool, to the changing rooms and amenities including lockers and towels. There's also a whirlpool tub at the very end of the bar that seems to get lots of use by men and their dates. The booze is top shelf, for the most part and drinks are not inexpensive, though the food prices are pretty reasonable. The bar gets packed on weekend nights though crowds are sparser during the week days.
The access to the cabanas, which a large and can accommodate probably 15-20 people is fee-based, and I believe the cost is Php16,000 (all consumable) for half a day. So there's a choice between a morning-afternoon rental and an afternoon-closing rental. There are six cabanas, and they're very popular with small groups of guys who split the rental costs and the invite as many girls as they like (usually arranged beforehand at some of the Angeles bars) to join them. I believe that at least 4 of the cabanas have private roof decks (there's another bar at the roof level), and at least two of them have private showers and toilets.

Just did four nights in AC. Got in late evening on the first and sampled Atlantis and Pony Tails. Wasn't impressed with the former: just one potential cutie who never left the second floor bench until I was almost out the door after an hour. Wasn't impressed with the latter, period, except that, based on the somewhat lower BF's and the sagging of the stage, I think I found the best cost-to-weight ratio in town.

I can see that they are bringing management disciplines to the place in the way they are checking the numbers and results of the business. They are usually to the right on the way to the CR. I think that should be in the backroom.

As a first timer and well experienced with Pattaya I cannot help but make the comparisons and my apologies as I'm sure you've heard it all before. Thanks.Location wise its at the middle of the Perimeter road strip so its good for the day time punting. Its a bit far from Fields Av. Ten minutes walk or a usd $2 tri ride can fix that for you though.
If you see my discussion with brothers you can see that it has the advantage of the hotel that host AQUA. So if you are the type of people who like to pick up from party club then its convenient. Having said that anyone can get into AQUA and the next best hotels in AC are 50-70 dollars cheaper of ABC, namely Queens, Central Park and Penthouse and they are all at Fields Ave.

Well, the amusing part is that even though Brazil has a high crime rate and is on top of every stats published most crime are related to drug gangs and as well family violence. So as for a tourist it is not that dangerous, and I say not that dangerous because it is not without risk to go to certain areas. But I have been more than 20 times in Brazil and have never been in a situation where I have been even near to be mugged. As to "very old," it's newest tower was opened in January of this year, so it's one of the newest accommodations in the city, ergo your "very old" contention is also inaccurate. Tower 3 was completed 5-6 years ago so it hardly qualifies as "very old. " Also, the place is perfectly maintained, so its tough to see how the age of the hotel would even be a factor. Finally, the occupancy rate is quite high, and on typical weekends it's often full, so it obviously appeals to a lot of folks, many of whom have stayed there intermittently for years.
The hotel is about a 2 minute drive from Fields and ABC provides free car service back and fourth, so once again the "very far" contention is fairly inaccurate. Walking to Fields takes about 10 minutes.
Obviously folks are free to spend their money however they like, but at least their choices should be based on accurate information.

Which hotel has the best pool for swimming laps?The Wookland Park has the best lap pool. It is maybe 25 meters long. The hotel is on an expansive campus that feels like you are on a golf course or a southern plantation. The girls love the place. I have had a couple of pool parties there. Korean barbecue restaurant is poolside which is another great crowd pleaser. It used to be my favorite place to stay. It is still a classy place.

Appreciate your help.Knowing what I know I would spend 2 nights in Makati close to Burgos St (I use St Regis Hotel). Burgos has a concentrated bar scene w / a few stand out bars like Bottoms and Kojax. Bottoms has happy hour pricing till 7 pm so BF is 2100 P and 3000 P for the dancer. After that it gets more expensive where the bars want 3500 P and the BG 3000 P, you can negotiate to 2700 P maybe. Kojax is my favorite and most nights they have talent you won't find in AC. Burgos is elementary mongering like AC and there are fewer women but better looking city girls.
AC is funky and dirty but a lot of fun and much less expensive. On Fields Ave the BF is 2500/3000 P all inclusive, tip the BG if she treats you good 300 P. In the day time the Perimeter bars start at noonish and cost 1500 to 2000 P all inclusive. I like the Perimeter BGs for 3 somes in the pool and room, bikinis cost $4.
Book a hotel (maybe 3 *Pacific Breeze) in AC and have them arrange a car from Makati to AC, the going rate is 2700 P. Taxis will do it for the same or less. So my advice is 2 nights in Makati (w / in walking distance to Burgos) and 6 nights in funky AC.

Andy, I'd fly into Manila for the night and stay on / near Burgos (Makati). Then up to Angeles for three or four stay at Orchid Inn. Then bus 1.5 hours over to Subic Bay for beach stay at Treasure Island for two nights. Then back to Angeles for a night or three hours back to Manila for a night. Apologies as I don't think I am going to be able to do a day by day report as I had initially planned for this trip. Sitting here in the lounge for my layover home, I would like to share some of the more memorable experiences that I didn't get to experience on my first trip instead.

There have been a lot of recommendations on the Phills forums to use technology (WeChat, Facebook, DIA, etc) to line up dates. While I am sure they are effective, I just can't be bothered to put in the time for that when you can get the same thing within 5 minutes of walking into a bar.
I am a little old fashioned that way as I carry my hotel cards with my name and room number (phone is always left in the room safe). If I want to meet up with a girl later on or if I want to try to repeat with a girl, I will give them the card and encourage them to call. The idea being they put in the effort instead of me and I am not inundated with texts and messages. They never call. A thank you to everyone who has contributed previously on this forum. This second time to Angeles was a lot easier and more comfortable.

The reason most girls don't bar fine the day before their day off if they have certain plans is most bars require them to work the day after a bar fine, whether they have a scheduled day off or not. This policy is to prevent a girl from "sneaking" out on her day off with the bar finer and not paying the bar. Most girls will bar fine and postpone their day off if they don't have anything scheduled.

I regularly monger in Angeles and Pattaya and go to both places twice a year. The area in Angeles called on Fields Avenue is only about 300 meters long and this is where the best gogo bars are located in addition to the infamous High Society Disco. It also is called Walking Street, and Pattaya has its own Walking Street also. You then have many bars and smaller gogos sporadically spread out from Atlantis go go bar (end of Walking Street) continuing on Fields Ave a bit more, and Fields becomes 21st street, then Don Juico Ave. For about 1. 5 km. There are also some side streets off of 21st Street and Fields Ave. (outside of Walking Street), which have small bars, a few massage places, etc. but, it is best not to wander into these side streets on your own at night just for safety precaution.
Pattaya has a huge Walking Street filled with many gogos, bars, discos etc. and you have many Sois, Alleys (small streets), Roads, going from North Pattaya continuing into Central Pattaya (largest or prime area of establishments) , then into South Pattaya. There are many long streets that go East to West such as Beach Road, Pattayasaisong Rd, Soi Buakhao, Pattaya 3rd road. All in all Pattaya City is about 4-5 km North to South and 2. 5 km east to west from Beach Road to the filled with massage places, bars, gogos, etc. So there are literally thousands of venues whereas AC is the short Walking Street area of a few hundred meters and then the outer area of Angeles which is primarily an extension of Fields Ave. I would say that in terms of geographic size, yes Pattaya is probably more like 25 times larger than Angeles.
As far as working girls, Pattaya is estimated to have close to 30 k-40 k working girls, massage girls, etc. Whereas AC probably will have 3-5 k working at any given idea (this is my best estimate as there are no real numbers documented).
The majority of women in the gogos, bars, establishments, street freelancers in Angeles City that we meet are mainly between early 20's to later 20's. In Pattaya, there are actually more older women working in the massage places, discos, and smaller type bars than you see in AC, but the majority are still in their 20s. In other words, age is not a concern in either cities are there are plenty of younger women to choose from in both places.
As far as my favorite out of the two, no comparison that the girls in AC give better service, are more GFE, and have better attitudes. The Thai women are just more business like, colder, and there are far more mongers in Pattaya for me to compete with there. In AC the ratio of girls to mongers in always heavily lopsided in my favor also. Lastly, prices for AC are usually almost half of what I pay in Pattaya unless you do Beach Road girls in Pattaya which I won't even consider as you don't know if you are getting a ladyboy or real girl. Pattaya does have better looking girls in the GoGo Bars and has the advantage in the looks category but you will have to pay way more than in AC for these girls. But, Pattaya is just monger Disneyland on steroids due to the sheer mass of venues, working girls, action, etc. So that is why I continue to enjoy both. Do yourself a favor, and do not miss out on either destination, try AC for half your trip and Pattaya for the other half and then decide which destination has the better girls as numbers really don't matter (having plenty of girls in both destinations ). As far as my favorite out of the two, no comparison that the girls in AC give better service, are more GFE, and have better attitudes. The Thai women are just more business like, colder, and there are far more mongers in Pattaya for me to compete with there. In AC the ratio of girls to mongers in always heavily lopsided in my favor also. A few questions to the forum though: Isn't part of the GFE the result of so many Filipinos being able to converse in English? The Thai girls who understand English the best were the ones who came off as well-experienced Pros, as I had been warned. Also, what is the scene like for AC street girls and are the girls discounted as is the case on Beach Road? In Thailand, I soon found I liked getting things off the street: food, supplies, girls, Kamagra, everything. Someone on the Thailand forum said that same thing once, and I thought that was risky, but soon found that is how I liked to do things as well. Gogos didn't appeal to me much, though I did like Soi 6 and the Windmill was a hoot! Something I experienced in the Land of Smiles and I noticed again recently, in the Dominican Republic is that the best service was always at the lower end of the price range for me. Maybe its been dumb luck on my part, or maybe I am good at connecting with the motivated provider. I'd like to hear some other mongers take on the stray pussy cats on the street in AC.

I regularly monger in Angeles and Pattaya and go to both places twice a year. The area in Angeles called on Fields Avenue is only about 300 meters long and this is where the best gogo bars are located in addition to the infamous High Society Disco. It also is called Walking Street, and Pattaya has its own Walking Street also. You then have many bars and smaller gogos sporadically spread out from Atlantis go go bar (end of Walking Street) continuing on Fields Ave a bit more, and Fields becomes 21st street, then Don Juico Ave. For about 1. 5 km. There are also some side streets off of 21st Street and Fields Ave. (outside of Walking Street), which have small bars, a few massage places, etc. but, it is best not to wander into these side streets on your own at night just for safety precaution.
Pattaya has a huge Walking Street filled with many gogos, bars, discos etc. and you have many Sois, Alleys (small streets), Roads, going from North Pattaya continuing into Central Pattaya (largest or prime area of establishments) , then into South Pattaya. There are many long streets that go East to West such as Beach Road, Pattayasaisong Rd, Soi Buakhao, Pattaya 3rd road. All in all Pattaya City is about 4-5 km North to South and 2. 5 km east to west from Beach Road to the filled with massage places, bars, gogos, etc. So there are literally thousands of venues whereas AC is the short Walking Street area of a few hundred meters and then the outer area of Angeles which is primarily an extension of Fields Ave. I would say that in terms of geographic size, yes Pattaya is probably more like 25 times larger than Angeles.

The majority of women in the gogos, bars, establishments, street freelancers in Angeles City that we meet are mainly between early 20's to later 20's. In Pattaya, there are actually more older women working in the massage places, discos, and smaller type bars than you see in AC, but the majority are still in their 20s. In other words, age is not a concern in either cities are there are plenty of younger women to choose from in both places.

TTM.Thanks for the compliment on the post, Tall Man. I am glad to see that you had a good time in AC and that Makati (Burgos St. Which I have been to many times) has also done you well. I really do also enjoy mongering in Latin America, but my favorite destinations are Panama City and Jaco Beach. I tried Medellin once before, and although a nice city, I did not find one great place comparable to Habano's in Panama City that had the sheer volume of hot Colombian girls in 1 locale. I just visited Panama and Jaco Beach, Costa Rica not too long ago and if you like hot Latin Women these 2 places rock. Jaco Beach has the bar at the Hotel Cocal which is really ground zero for mongering there but Habanos in Panama City is really a shit show. I cannot think of any single venue in any city I have mongered with the quality level of women, bar none. I am certainly going to give Medellin another shot soon. Don't give up on Asia yet and go again, it does grow on you, like it did for me. Happy Hunting.

Angeles City Trip report June 19th to 21st.
Preface Having returned last evening to Makati I now compose this report sitting here at Cafe Cubana on Burgos Street since the details of my trip to AC are fresh in my mind. I want to thank you members who answered my questions and sent me private messages so I express my gratitude to you. After hearing stories and experiences for literally many decades about AC I was glad to finally experience it albeit a shadow of its former infamous glory, so I have been told.
Transportation, A friend of mine set up his taxi driver guy and I paid 3,000 pesos each way and he slept in his taxi cab and I gifted him some beer and bar hoping in addition to this cost. Took 2. 5 hours getting there and 3 plus hour on the return just because of traffic. In the end I gained a trusted friend and would travel and use him again. He gave me many stories about all kinds of experiences during his 30 plus years driving a taxi driver in and around Manila and Angeles City.
Hotel, I stayed at Score Birds for 2 nights 3 days with no reservation. I paid as I recall 2,900 pesos night. The BAD (as other have reported) is the early morning 3 AM pounding music noise coming from next door is bothersome so if you're the type of person that needs silence to sleep this may not be the place for you. The ONLY other bad is the lack of hot water and water pressure in the shower.
Aside from these two negatives everything else is GREAT including the easy in and out for your girl guest, the pool and pool side bar, the exceptional friendly attitudes of all the hotel staff, room air conditioning, strong wifi, the food served 24/7, the beautiful rooms with great furnishings and lighting and the location is superb as your in the heart of the place to be. All is nothing short of perfect. Yes I will stay here again should I ever return to AC.
Just a general comment about the Filipinos is for the most part they speak English so it is refreshing to have conversations with the girls unlike my many mongering travels through all of Central and South America where my rudimentary Spanish leaves much to the liking. I appreciate this ability to be able to communicate with the girls as this makes it much more enjoyable as a trip in itself.
Bars, I visited about 15 of them in total including Atlantis, Viking, Crystal, Doll House, Lolipops to name just a few. Even if I saw nothing interesting upon my entry I still ordered a beer and sat for 20 minutes and observed. I did notice that in about half of the bars there was almost ZERO interest in the girls interacting with the customers in any meaningful way, boredom perhaps, maybe I am used to the bars in Tijuana Mexico where they actively want to connect with you by way of a nice smile and twinkling of the eyes or such but here nothing but plain bored faces.
As I am a one and done type of guy I bar fined a girl each of the two nights and the both of them from Atlantis. My experience was Atlantis had the prettiest and sweetest girls. I enjoyed sitting at the second floor balcony and looking at the pretty girls dancing and parading around, really the atmosphere is a lot of fun. Both nights I ended up, after checking other bars for a few hours, back at Atlantis and sat with my girls for hours on the balcony seat and danced and drank and truly enjoyed myself.
As I recall the bar fine in AC is about 3,000 pesos and I ended giving the girls about 2,500 pesos. None of them ask for any money but I assured them that I will tip according to their service and was not let down. Both were very sweet and fresh and the one was inexperienced as she was 20 with little experience (arrived one month before) and shown it throughout the night and extending into our hotel room. What a true sweet heart who BTW on her first day at the club a month ago, after going with a cheap ass Korean guy who after boom-boom left her without paying her a dime. Other bar girls both in AC and Makati have only shit to say about Korean guys and will not go with them. I hate mother-fuc**rs whatever the race treating these women like dirt. They are for the most part working to put food on the table and care for their kids and eking out an existence. Please treat them nice. I will never understand this but for you cheap ass Koreans I see your getting a well-deserved stigma in the PI.
On another topic, one of my concerns when I was planning this trip was the size of my package relative to the petite girls. Yes it is a real issue. As some of you members suggested I was sure to tell the girls while in the bar that I am larger than normal and a few out right but politely told me sorry but my pussy is very small, much respect for these girls being forthright.
In Makati, even despite my best efforts with foreplay and finger stretching with ample amounts of lubrication, with two girls that I bar-fined insertion was impossible, I would have literally torn them up, no shit and I treat every woman with respect and dignity so we found other methods. One of these girls that was too small I pulled out of Plan B and she is so sweet and such a delight to be with that I may bar fine her again. Go figure.
Had a great visit to AC and so glad I took the extra effort to visit and experience it. Again thanks to all you members who answered my questions and provided direction and suggestions which made my trip a good one. I recommend that anyone visiting the PI to visit AC and experience it yourself.
As I now conclude this post sitting here at Cafe Cubana, with the sun setting and the street walkers coming out parading back and forth Cafe Cubana, with many of the seats taken and girls negotiating with guys at the 3 tables directly around me, well I wonder where I will end up tonight as last night I bar fined a real sweet heart out of Kojax.

So it was different from the system in Thailand. Has this system now changed since you paid both barfine and cash to the girl? This might explain the behavior of the Koreans. Back then a tip for the girls was expected to be 2-300 peso maybe. Anyway, systems change over time so maybe some of the experienced members of this forum can update us?
