Okay, those places are now 20% cheaper than DH, but still far away from Philippine prices and thats true for the western food as well as for the Philippine dishes. If you want Philippine prices, try it at least 3km away from Fields. You might get Chicken/Rice for 30ps, but I don't go for it.
And with all respect, I think neither you nor anyone else in these forums is in the right position to tell me, what I have to do with my money. Understood? ;)

Any suggestions for a newbie?I was there for 1 day - December 4th. I drove into town at 3:30 pm and stayed at the Wild Orchid.
Met up with Mattrick and hit the streets at 7pm. I was like a deer caught in headlights. I gawked from 7pm until midnight. Went to Nero's; Blue Nile; Camelot and finally La Pasha.
At La Pasha I made my 1st choice and got rolling. I did manage 4 girls in all that night. Went to the Dollhouse at 5 am and took a waitress and a hostess until 7 am.

If the price level for any service is too high for you, simply do not purchase the good (e.g. food, transportation, barfine etc). But if other mates are prepared to pay more, let them do so and feel free to go to a cheaper place of your choice instead. We are living in an open society and the economical interaction between supply and demand will do the rest for you/us!
However, brother, be assured that neither Ekspat nor 1,000 Koreans have the power to spoil the overall price level in AC - at least not as long as 20,000 mongers like you (I suppose?!) act more cost-conscious. All in all it's pure economics, isn't it?! IMHO, of course!

Would you want the other guy to first ask you permission if it was ok?
What if it was a regular girl you seen every time you are in AC. Would it matter if she gave her number to another guy so she could meet with him after you are gone.

I would Never do that to another guy in a Bar cause shes with him at that moment. ITS RUDE even if their only with you cause your paying them. If she gets up to go to the bathroom then Its fine to hit up on her then. This is a good test on what the girl really thinks of you anyways cause If she really likes you And you bought her a drink or 2 and even her EWR She will quickly render herself unavailable to this guy and blow him off. If shes gone a while and you see her flurting back with him she might just be a runner on you.

Germano, you simply do NOT get the local rates in a place like Fields Ave or whole Balibago area.
It doesn't matter whether you pay 280 or 240ps for a Chicken Cordon Bleu with mashed potatoes and veggies. It has nothing to do with local rates.
Also Philippino dishes like tapsilog or losilog (?) somewhat around 120-150ps, rice with corned beef and fried egg for 110ps. This is also far away from local rates.
Do you have any idea about the local rates?

If you want a spacious place away from the action with a geriatric type crowd, check out the bar at Swagman Narra Hotel. For something on Fields, try Kokonutz Sports Bar part of the Kokomos complex. This is one sporting event you should have no trouble catching wherever you are, including Thailand. Many places use this game as an excuse to throw a party. To make things more interesting, I like to go to a party that has some betting action or at the very least some sqaures.

I am not sure if it was the Rich Sugar Daddy syndrome that caused the problem, but more that the girls got smarter.
I agree with Thailand. In recent years the girls can use cell phones and the internet to make more money. I have to say also with the new technology it made it easy for me to find what I am looking for.
I just try to continue to increase my income so I can continue to have money to spend on my hobby!

The woman might see friends or family of hers and get you to buy drinks for them, and they become instant spies for her as you prance around with her. Another woman you might have been with thinks negatively of you for coming to her bar with another woman. I know it really ain't crap but if you want to play the game it doesn't hurt to respect her in some ways. Of course, running into guys that do what this original issue of someone trying to get your barfine's number. Personally, I don't really care, as I know the game. Just because you barfined her, doesn't mean you own her for whenever. Get real. Sure it spoils it for you a little bit, but it also grounds you in reminding you where you are. I just returned home from my last trip to the Philippines and need now to recover a little bit! :) During my recent stay in AC I had the greatest pleasure to meet again with brother Ekspat, who made certain that not one single minute in the “promised city” was wasted. :)
Wow, guys, believe you me, this incredible chap - who is best known all over the place - did not fail to amaze me over and over again! Already while going out for having breakfast at let’s say 1 pm, dozens of girls on the streets greeted him with a lovely smile “hello Ekspat, my dear!” And when both of us hit the bars in Perimeter Road at 2 pm or so, virtually all dancers and waitresses knew Mr Ekspat - apparently for ages. It goes without saying that the very same story continued at nighttime in Fields!
So, I was wondering more than once if there is any cuty in AC who was not f***ed by Mr Ekspat, or, if there might be a place in town he does not know? Well, honestly spoken, I would rather doubt it! However, I look forward to seeing Mr Ekspat again in a couple of months!

Actually, I think it just makes you look pathetic. From the girls' standpoint it is not really a compliment. And if you take it from the guys perspective, you don't know what could happen. Why would you risk him going off on you? There are 1000 girls in AC.

There are many hotels at 20-60 U.S. dollars per night here and you get all you need.You can stay at ck\larkton great pool quiet great staff and food.New large room for 60 per night.Oasis is great also and thats 70 per night.Premier hotel is 27 per night nice place good pool.Horizonhill hotel 23 per night good staff clean quiet travel agent inhouse all you need under 1 roof.
You get out of the shit on fields ave and get a good room at a good price.Tell the driver to go past the petron station and you are 1 km from all the shit.Also high season is na so you will pay all the jack now for a room on or close to fields.

It is rude for someone to do that, but you know what? We aren't dealing with angels. We ourselves could be nice people, but you are always going to have some rude people who don't give a lick about other people's feelings or whatever. Is it worth getting in a fight over? I add a good map, covering bars and hotels along 300 meter of Fields Av. which is the most important areas I think. Hope someone find it useful. Perimeter road is at the left of Fields Av. Up to the left, outside the map, is Clark freezone where the airport is.

yea that was the sob party. funny, i was at the perimeter party in may that got busted. the person that is going to be in the worst situation is the mamasan, if she has anyone **** in her stable.
basically, it moves in a rotation of different bars. the host bar will have food brought in and serve free drinks for about 2 hours during the party. you pay about 550 pesos. at sob they have front row seats for another 500. these are the best seats, because when the girls do their show well...some guys just gotta eat.
they usually have a contest where girls representing the rotating bars each do a show and the winning team gets some pesos. they get paid to be on the team too.

On the 3rd day head to AC and spend the night there - check out Fields Ave. Depart from Clark the following day.
Can anyone update me on the following fair 'market' rates as I understand them:
P. Burgos = BF PHP 2000-3000 (may be offset by LDs), add 2000-3000 to the girl for LT
LA Cafe = No BF, PHP 500 - 1000 for LT

If you have the energy and money, I guess what you are planning is doable. Personally, I think you are probably just better off staying in Angeles for that short amount of time. For 4 days, sticking just to angeles might be the best bet if you're only interested in mongering. While I think there are more 8-10 range girls in the Burgos bars, there are certainly some in angeles also - you just have to look a bit more. The only real disadvantage to angeles is that there isn't much else to do there, but for a relatively short trip, that probably doesn't matter.

I've only been to the Phils twice so i am pretty much a rookie. I spent Dec 4th in Angeles and had Filipina Heart dates the rest of my stay.
I agree that you might best be served by just staying in Angeles for the duration. When I was there in December the ratio of guys to girls in any given bar is 30:1. So many to chose from. if you can't find a few goodlooking ones in the crowd you have extremely high standards.
I had a total of 5 girls in the one evening I was there. It was a blast. I am looking forward to a return visit and this time I am staying put in Angeles.
A word of caution on Angeles. There is nothing to do but drinking and fucking. For me though that is quite enough.

Just back in manila after 2 night at angeles city stay at the new pacific breeze hotel just open 2400 peso a night very nice room and a nice deep pool nice design own by same owner of central park and is just around the corner ,most bar barfine is 1200 peso blue niles still have the most girl the one taht I pick up have a little attiude stay all night only allow cbj 3 shots .

Japanese management=clean and correct.
-Big rooms, big beds, good watter preassure ( important)
-Excellent service, in room service ( breackfast, lunch)
-Great pool and pool area-gives you a bit of a tropical relaxed hiliday atmosphere
-you can pay by credit card
-daily cleaning
-no inroom safe box but at the reception
Bad points:
-The corridors are rooms are neon lighted, very basic= look like a sanatorium, nothing glizzy but much better than other cheap hotels.
Bottom line: good value especially if you stay for 7-12 days.
If you stay shorter better spoil yourself with something closer to the action and more luxurious.
-distance from the action, 10-15 min, trike at the door , or jeepeney around the corner
-Very close to the Perimeter bars-some people prefer perimeter area only.
-I might stay there again but lately I was targeting modells and stunners and they sometimes turn their noses when they hear about Hana although it can be only my impression

If you're worried that another guy will get the girl that you like, just dress a little better than a drunken bum and avoid being arrogant or semi-abusive towards the girls and you are already a few steps above many of the guys who will be in AC at the same time as you.
You also need to consider that even though the popular hotels will be booked solid, many of the tourists already have girls waiting for them, so they won't even be competing with you for barfines. They will be tucked away in their rooms, playing by the pool or wining and dining the love of their life to bother thinking about who else they could be fucking.
If you want to be there during a 'ghost town' quiet period, then June-July is your best bet. Problem is, you may never see the sun, it could rain everyday and the atmosphere in some of your favourite bars will lack energy as they are too empty to give many of the girls hope that they will barfine that night. Sure you can get all the attention, but too much can be a bad thing. Its good to have some other punters in a bar to balance things out a bit.

This was the case of a long time friend and guest at my hotel.The cook was hanging around after work talking to us many nights.He first wanted a free drink or two and then more.He would bring his wife and kids and relathieves in and wanted us to foot the bill.WOW WHAT A DEAL HA.tHE BEST PART IS WHEN MY FRIEND WAS ON HIS LAST NIGHT HERE THE COOK WAS GOING TO BRING IN SOME FOOD AND THROUGH A PARTY.Please let me say that we did have a party but the cook was nowhere to be found.He knew that he would have to reach in his pocket for once and that shit will never happen here!!HE never showed and we had a good time after all.

Im back home since a week from my stay in PI and just give my 2 cents to AC and scenery there.
I visited some expat friends and we talked bout AC scene today, means those guys who actually live the dream to be constant in AC or elsewhere in PI.
AC has a very limited freelance scene, so for those guys who like to barfine a gurl and invite her to go to Boracay or just let her her stay with you for a while and give her 500 p a day its quite difficult to do so. All the gurls or lets say allmost all the gurls are obliged t folow the rules of the bar scene.
In other words, if you barfine a gurl and u like her, u have to be barfine her the nxt day also, otherwise she will go with another guy the next day.
I only speak about the experience from those guys who actually LIVE in AC.
Ac is ok for guys who just want a quick f..k , you just go to a bar, have a drinkwith the mama san and point to the gurl that you like to get barfine.
Conversation is limited, cause gurls arent that smart. My expatfriend told me he can do that also when he is 70, just point with his stick to one of the gurls dancing on the stage, buy her a drink and off we go...So, he will just live in AC but maybe only 4 month a year , in the other time he will go to Mindoro, Thailand and Manila, cause of the freelance scene, In AC its all dictated by the bars, tht was different some years ago...I rember 1996 the gurl f..k ur brains out all nyt, stay with you as long as you want and no problem with bars etc.....
During my stay in AC I went to Agassya, this place has changed and is now more western friendly. All you have to do is to chat with the mama san , buy her a drink and she will recomand gurls who wana go with you.
I will allways go back to AC when Im in PI, but the place has changed and this is my impression from my recent trip.
Blue Nile group will soon open a casino next to their club. They also installed one armed bandits las vegas style in Blue nile and Neros, I heard they invest 1 million dollar for this. I hope they have some extra savings to give some extra cash to the police for back up, cause Im pretty sure if they get customers from Casino Filipino those mafia mobs want to get a piece of the cake. Always remember that filipinos dont like competition, so lets see how they do in the future....gud luck...

O k lets just say that I have gone through another long time stay here and it was not a good time.The reason is because of the staff and there games.They never stole (outright) anything like at the marquis but the money and games are going on here every minute.

If you stay at Patio, try breakfast at VFW.

This bar is Korean owned, and any western guy has got no chance of barfining anything decent there, and this is why anytime you go in there the place is deserted of customers, as all the ac regulars know this.
Yes of course they will let you buy then ladies drinks, but after that the bola bola sets in, they are on their mens, ect, just avoid, go to stingers instead round the corner.

First time was last night and the quality yes i fact is low.I got a new gal yes 6 hrs offthe bus to go and after she got to the room she only wanted to stay 1 hr.I guess all the words from the friend or cousin were make him stupid.

Yes, always think very carefully about advice you get. Take notes and keep records if possible. And then compare notes with other expats, and other people you meet. If you are a newbie, ask about restaurants, fares and tips and etc...BUT not from the people you expect to pay. Ask many questions....
For example, if you are in AC, ask the hote staff how much the tricycle ride is to abc bar.
So, find out what the costs are. Be prepared. Then, when you find the bikini-clad woman of your dreams....do you talk money? My advice is NO. You already know what the minimum payment is...
Before buying a drink...yes, you should ask the RIGHT questions. Of course the right questions are different for every lady and for every guy. My fav is where in Phil are you from...then talk about that place. Then I'll buy a drink. For a few bucks, I've scored a lot higher than the guy who asks, "do you lick scotum..."

The bars were sold yesterday; Lollipop, Ziggy's and Treasure Island. It was not an easy decision as those, along with Voodoo, were great bars and great places to hang out and in EVERY poll on the boards rate in the top 5 bars in Angeles. Still, with my involvement in Subic and 65 years approaching rapidly, it was time to scale back a bit.
The new owner is a great guy. He's a commerical pilot who will be retiring in 6 months and will spend lots of time in AC. Running the bar operation will be another pilot (we now have 3 working pilots in town) who has lived here since October but was a regular visitor for years. Ron, the new owner, has been a minor shareholder in this operation for quite awhile and all of us have been friends for ages. They are not making any changes in operational style or personnel. It will be the same great staff who many of you have known such a long time. Plus, of course, the regular gang who hang out there will still be around. We will continue to handle their administration and maintainence.
It seems strange that for the first time in 11 years there is not a gogo bar with Mo's name on it. Kokomo's is alive and kicking. We've made some operational changes (hours and a new menu which will be implemented next week) and, of course 'Nutz is still there.
In the end, though, all this fun would not have been possible without YOU. Over the years, I've come to know thousands of visitors; many found us via the Internet. My sincere thanks to all of you for your patronage, support and, most of all, your friendship.

I was there for the first time last Dec 4th and I was solo too. I only had 1 night so I stayed at the Wild Orchid Resort. I was never more than 2 or 3 blocks from the center of Fields Ave so I'm not sure of the outer areas.
I was out from 7pm until 6 am having met and played with 5 girls over the course of the night. My last trip out was at 5:30 am to the Dollhouse and I was walking alone and no one bothered me. I am 51 yrs old and about 230lbs. I felt safe.
You will probably have ONE problem. Deciding which one - of the thousands of girls - you will want to have while you're there each evening. I couldn't decide. So I ended up with a 1 night total of 5.
Not a bad problem to have at all.

Central bar district (Fields, Real st etc) is pretty safe. Further up on Perimeter where the props (aka tourist) police don't drive around in their van with flashing lights some extra caution is advisable at night, especially say past America/Europhil...
Fly the Bus out of Swagman Hotel in Ermita for php 500. Stop in at LA Cafe while your waiting because it's very close to the hotel.

Even in my heyday, I never did more the three different ladies in different sessions over the course of one 24 hour period.

Ended up splitting a taxi with a guy I met at the airport. Stayed last night at America Hotel, semi decent room for 2400 pesos. Went bar hopping with my taxi friend and hit every bar/club from America Hotel up to Camelot. Camelot was IMO the best out of the places we went with lot's of good looking girls and a friendly atmosphere. My friend pulled a cutie and I went a couple of bars back to get a waitress I liked from earlier. Cute girl, kind of petite but when I got her back to the room I found out she had a big c-section scar which kind of turned me off. No problem just turned her over doggie and the scar disappeared! My fault for not sticking with the half naked girls where you can pretty much see what you are getting first. Good attitude and performance although I asked her to leave around 3:30am so I could sleep by myself. 1300 BF and gave her 250 tip on the way out.
Moved to ABC hotel today and this is a very nice hotel, although at 5700 something pesos for the jaccuzi room it is waaaaaay more than I ever pay for a room, but I wanted to treat myself for one night. If you don't mind spending about $120 USD per night and want a really nice room I would definitely recommend this place.
Had a burger at Mo's and made a room reservation for tomorrow there. 1600 pesos per night at Mo's which is more up my ally. Stopped in at La Pasha during the day and four girls were up on stage rehearsing their dance moves, with 6-7 more girls watching. They were really getting after it, looks worth investigating later.

No never mind, they've probably remodeled those rooms by now. The rooms in front are noisy.
Napalm doesn't say where he was, but I suspect he had a nice back room which has a balcony which overlooks the 24-hour-pool.
Last time I was there, they had a really cheap windowless first floor room under the stairs. I don't know if it's still available, and I would never stay there, but some of you might be interested.

Judging from the carpet and the furniture I don't think they have remodeled since your last visit. It's not a complete dive but for 2400 PHP I think better deals are out there, and much closer to the action. I was in a room upstairs and in the very back, away from the pool. No balcony and I was woken up several times between 3am and 7am by the roosters and other assorted noise from the local folks just behind the hotel. By light of day I noticed that the screen covering the window has a trap door you can reach through and close the window which would have cut down somewhat on the noise.
The bathroom light was out and in it's place they had another light bulb and socket hanging hanging down from the lamp and plugged into the wall. Kind of ghetto but it worked. Hot and cold water and AC worked well, didn't bother with the TV. They did have a nice big mirror on the wall angled for your viewing pleasure. The rooms are big, with several armchairs arranged in a little sitting area by the fridge, which has an assortment of items in it. The bellboy will check the items from a list of what should be in there and cross off anything that isn't, then ask you to sign the list.
All in all I wouldn't really recommend it, unless everything else is booked up and then only as a stop gap measure until you can get something better.
For my second night in AC I had a few places I had read about here on the forum which I wanted to check out. Specifically Blue Nile, Dollhouse, La Pasha and Nero's. Started off at Lancelot, had a bottle of coke and left since nothing looked that good to me.
Next stop was La Pasha. Didn't see the four girls from earlier in the day but the stage was packed with about 30-40 girls. I immediately saw a really good looking waitress and sat down on the couch next to her. She was about an 8 on my scale with a very pretty face, long hair and incredibly silky smooth legs. If she would have had a bigger ass I might have BF'd her right then and there. Luckily I remembered my experience with the waitress from the other night and decided to wait.
Went across the street and down to Blue Nile and the quality of girls went up a few notches. Kind of a unique set up (well the first time I've seen it at least) with the girls up on an elevated stage which rises and lowers to let girls on and off. Ordered a beer and went upstairs to get a better view. Saw a pretty cute girl on stage with curly long hair who was my type but again not quite as much ass as I like. The bunch on stage soon got off en mass and I pulled the cute one over as she walked by. She had been standing next to me for about 30 seconds when a waitress came up and wanted me to buy a LD. As I was looking at the waitress and considering if I wanted to do that or not she gave the girl her little pad of paper and the girl wrote something down. So then I'm thinking... I hope she didn't just write down a drink order because I didn't say yes. Now, I know a LD isn't that expensive. 150 pesos isn't going to kill me but I was kind of annoyed that they just presumed I would buy one without even waiting for me to say yes so I thought to myself screw that I'm out and went back downstairs.
So I'm standing at the bottom of the stairs checking out the stage and I see the waitress go by with a drink headed upstairs. And I'm thinking, hey I didn't order that shit so it's not my problem. Waitress comes back down and hands me the check and I say hey I didn't order this, I never said yes to buying a LD. Well she gets a stunned look on her face and rushes back upstairs. So then I felt a little bit bad for the dancer, not so much the waitress but I was torn between feeling like a cheap bastard, feeling bad for the girl because either the waitress would take the drink back (or maybe she would have to pay for it herself?) and feeling like that's what they get for automatically assuming I'm going to buy a LD and not even waiting for me to say yes. Now, in hind sight I can definitely say that it's partly my fault for not immediately making clear that I did or did not want to buy the girl a LD. I will not make that mistake again.
Anyways, I sit down and start checking out the girls on stage. There are several that are my type and I see one that has the look I like and a nice ass too. I tell the waitress I want that one and she hits her with a little laser pointer and the stage lowers to let her off. Order another Heiniken for me and a LD for her and try to judge if there is any chemistry. It doesn't seem like it at first and I start thinking I may have to throw this one back in the pond. Our drinks arrive and hers is a glowing green concoction, which she offers for me to taste. Vodka and redbull. Not bad, wonder how they get it to glow though. So I'm trying to judge whether or not to BF this one. I had several girls grabbing my junk earlier when I walked by but this one is just kind of sitting there, and doesn't seem to be too into me. Finally I decide fuck it, she hot and I'm gonna BF her. If she's not into me oh well I'll just rail her, send her on her way and get some sleep.
1200 BF and 300 for the drinks and we're out. I'm pretty hungry though so we stop at Margarita Station for some food. I try to get her to order something but she doesn't want to eat. I order some mini chimichangas and a coke for me and three tequila shots for her since she said earlier that after three shots she's drunk. Now, it may have partly been that I was so hungry but those chimichangas were damn good. I imagine that the rest of the food there is pretty good too. We finish and head back to the hotel. I had also asked her if she wanted anything from the food vendors on the side of the street but she said no, and we stopped at 7-11 before we hit MS and the only thing she wanted was a bottle of mineral water.
Long story short once we got back to the room she turned out to be a decent GFE after all. It may have helped that I was going out of my way trying to be nice to her and make her feel comfortable... or maybe not. Who knows what goes on inside the mind of a bargirl. I briefly considered kicking this one out too around 3am but she was pretty sweet, rubbing my head and back until I fell asleep. Woke up around 8am and had a little morning session with her then gave her 400 PHP and told her goodbye. Her stage name is Jen and she's part Filipino part Spanish. Nice girl. Nice ass.

I stay at the pacific breeze last month just open 2 month ago very nice pool very good to swim in deep end is over 10ft with a roman design 2400 peso a night , the pool in american is surrounded by the hotel so you don't get any sun at all , pacific breeze is own by central park is around the corner very good location and close to the actions and one of the nicest place in ac.

Firstly, the moral of the story happens to be just that; if you "have a few dollars" you can purchase justice on a pay-as-you-go basis, like it or not. This quick settlement scheme has its pros and cons, obviously.
Secondly, the whole incident could have been avoided at at least two times. The filipina who used the motorbike for a photographic session without permission could simply have asked the owner beforehand. In fact I'd venture to say that it's common wisdom in many parts of the world (excluding the Philippines) not to touch other peoples belongings without permission. This goes especially for HD bikes, I'd say ;) Moreover, if the guard hadn't commented the (for a HD owner) pretty mild correction, the case would probably have closed right there. So he asked for it, got it and the 10K LOL.
Thirdly, the general idea of the benevolence of having different sets of rules for foreigners and locals, which you seem to propagate, is not very appealing IMO.

It is closer to Perimeter action but you can easily walk to Fields. I think it is more suitable for people who need higher security, as their doormen are armed under their slick suits. I think you might see them getting realistic though. They have a chalkboard sign out now advertising the restaurant fare. Prices are not far out of line from competing restaurants.
But the security issue might not be realistic either. Once you are outside the confines, you are back in real world with the rest of us.

You can take 5 Star from Pasay to Dau for less than 200 pesos. At Dau take tryke to your hotel for 50-70. Very comfortable on bus. Be friendly with bus driver. Return same way they run every 30 minutes. Pasay terminal is near airport and it is about 150 pesos by meter.
subic is kinda boring unless you want to swim with whales. Make reservation ahead of time. Watch out in bars. Make sure you strike deal in front of mamasan. They will run on you after one pop, no matter what you agree on. Some good looking girls though, esp at Hollywood's. 1500 peso barfine. Do not tip until you walk her out to street.Do not tip in hotel room, I suspect that some girls pull tampo to extract more money.
Also there are airline deals on Cebu Pacific right now. I took 4 day trip to Cebu for two at around 95 USD and that was out of Clark in AC. Go to Website.

I can't say this too much. Spend more time in the Perimeter Bars, guys. I think alot of people hear how they are "Dive" bars or that the girls aren't as hot or whatever.
Here's how I describe the difference:
Fields is glitz, abundance, lots of makeup.
Perimeter is your neighborhood bar with a dance floor.
Remember when you moved into a new neighborhood and you tried the local haunts till you found "your spot"? That is Perimeter. Fields wants your money NOW. They can't stay in business any other way. Perimeter wants your money by repeat business. A little today. A little tomorrow. Etc.
Here's how I was trained and it works well for me. 3pm head to Perimeter Bars. Stampede, Gentlemans Club. Doctor Holm's, Thigh Hi's. Nasty Duck. Honeyko's Lost in Asia. Try them in different combos during the late afternoon. 35-50 for a beer. 100 or so for lady drinks. Be tight with your money, not because you are cheap. Make them work for you. If you make mistakes with choice of girl, let it be here.

If you don't find your liking for barfine, so what? Have a good time. You can always head to Field later. An interesting thing happens too. You find your self not putting up with Fields bullshit. You will play YOUR game not the bars game. And your picks on Fieds will improve.

Central bar district (Fields, Real st etc) is pretty safe. Further up on Perimeter where the props (aka tourist) police don't drive around in their van with flashing lights some extra caution is advisable at night, especially say past America/Europhil...
It is fine up there, just don't walk in America/ Europhil area at night. Take jeepney to far end of Permeter. Nasty Duck, Fire and Ice, Honeyko's, Lost in Asia, etc. I've never had a problem up there.

As someone who walks this area practically every night my humble point is; since this area is not patrolled by tourist police and is partly poorly lit and/or desolate it's a favorite spot for some lowlifes. Please be aware that many of these guys and "girls" do carry weapons and if it's your lucky day..who knows?

For any hoteliers in spe out there the lot next to ABC hotel was fenced with a very nice industry-strength barbed wire the day before yesterday..and a Lot For Lease sign was also posted.
AC needs more hotels! Why not build a hip-hop themed hotel there? The DEF Hotel, of course!
I have found that in AC the best bet is to ALWAYS go for the waitresses or door girls. They are usually the best looking and most personable girls at any bar. You can also chat them up extensively while just hanging out and having a drink. It is amazing how many guys don't know that they are available. One of my favorite things is to just walk down the street and briefly flirt with the door girls at every bar I pass. It is great fun and you can find a honey in no time like that.

An excellent report you wrote! However, I would not generalize "never barfine a waitress". It depends a little on the place, I suppose. Ironically I had never barfined a dancer at "La Pasha", but several times one of the cute waitresses there - and had always a great time with them!
In terms of "health check" you are right, some girls might be a little hesitant to get barfined the night before. But like always in life there are exemptions. Yesterday night for instance I barfined a cute dancer from "Heartbreakers", today at 6am I f***ed her the third time before she finally left - directly to the health center! :)

Dollar is declining simply because too many of them of been created out of thin air by the government and fractional reserve banking. They are literally "worth less". There hasn't been price inflation in manufactured items because of the competition from other countries. There has been TREMENDOUS inflation in housing and financial assets. That is where all the excess dollars have gone. People outside the US know the dollars are worth less but they can't sell all at once or they will crash the dollar and then their dollars really will be worthless. If you are an American you should definiitely invest in foreign currencies. It is all more complicated than this, but this is he basic answer.

Good point WebConnexxion. I don't really understand the thinking of barhopping with the bar girls. I really don't think there is anything good coming out of it in the end. The woman might see friends or family of hers and get you to buy drinks for them, and they become instant spies for her as you prance around with her. Another woman you might have been with thinks negatively of you for coming to her bar with another woman. I know it really ain't crap but if you want to play the game it doesn't hurt to respect her in some ways. Of course, running into guys that do what this original issue of someone trying to get your barfine's number. Personally, I don't really care, as I know the game. Just because you barfined her, doesn't mean you own her for whenever. Get real. Sure it spoils it for you a little bit, but it also grounds you in reminding you where you are. Actually you will probably find more lowlife's in the Field area where there are more targets. Sure you need to use normal caution everywhere(esp. travel in pairs, don't get too drunk), but no need for paranioa. The police carry weapons too, and they are the ones I worry about the most.

Judging from the carpet and the furniture I don't think they have remodeled since your last visit. It's not a complete dive but for 2400 PHP I think better deals are out there, and much closer to the action. I was in a room upstairs and in the very back, away from the pool. No balcony and I was woken up several times between 3am and 7am by the roosters and other assorted noise from the local folks just behind the hotel. By light of day I noticed that the screen covering the window has a trap door you can reach through and close the window which would have cut down somewhat on the noise.
The bathroom light was out and in it's place they had another light bulb and socket hanging hanging down from the lamp and plugged into the wall. Kind of ghetto but it worked. Hot and cold water and AC worked well, didn't bother with the TV. They did have a nice big mirror on the wall angled for your viewing pleasure. The rooms are big, with several armchairs arranged in a little sitting area by the fridge, which has an assortment of items in it. The bellboy will check the items from a list of what should be in there and cross off anything that isn't, then ask you to sign the list.
All in all I wouldn't really recommend it, unless everything else is booked up and then only as a stop gap measure until you can get something better.
Just to let you know, the America Hotel and guests were robbed at gunpoint in September by masked men. This was a week before my September visit to AC. Pretty bold, just something to consider.

I will be in AC March 11 to the 18. I will be with some business friends but they will pretty much be occupied with their gf's as they have done the bar scene already. I've decided to take a few days for myself and take in the city before I connect with my own gfs. Want to see if anybody will be around so we can hit some bars. It's a bit of a walk to the Fields bars. Probably took me about 10-15 minutes on foot. I like walking but if you pull a girl from Fields you may want to take a trike back to the hotel. Probably safer too at night to take a trike.
Stayed at Kokonuts for one night and will not repeat. 1600 PHP room, not a bad price, basic no frills room but the noise from downstairs made it almost impossible to sleep. The staff were all very friendly and courteous though. Nice place to hang out, eat and drink. They have a private van going to Subic for 400PHP or you can catch fly the bus there for the same price.

Everybody is going to have their own opinion. You think it's backwards and someone might think your opinion is backwards thinking. That's new to me that going bar hopping gains you more respect and that the sex is better after bar hopping with your bar fine.. I've done the bar hopping a couple different times but didn't notice a difference vs. not. I prefer to take them to get something to eat than to bar hop. There's not a lot to do in AC at night except hit bars. I prefer to hit them without a woman in tow, but that's me. You can do all the stuff mentioned shots, getting crazy, dance and stuff without a bar fine in tow. Maybe some people don't know that. And in regards to falling for the crap from the women there, I don't 99% of the time, but at the same time I don't like to put myself in position to be tested either, but that's me.

In all my trips, I cannot say that the way to go is to bar fine dancers or non dancers. My best bet is to find someone I'm attracted to both physically and personality and hopefully she treats me well. In my experiences there are no absolutes here. When taking waitresses and door girls you see less of them physically. If you are not into taking women with stretch marks from previous pregnancies or someone who might be a little chunky, you might want to do some inspection when they sit with you or you might have a surprise when you get back to your room. The waitress outfits are very sexy most of the time there, but can be deceiving to the eyes in reality. But then again the lighting in a lot of the bars can be deceiving period. My advice is to find someone you like whether they are door girl, waitress, or dancer and hopefully it turns out well. Sometimes the personality might change when outside the bar.

I always suggest DM Residente, as it is close to Fields. It is 3 blocks off so you don't have tryke noise in the morning. They have a small pool. but it is not a "hang out" pool. 950 pesos standard room, no water problems. They have website.

DM is filipino-owned nickel-and-dime you operation that has some really moldy rooms. If you fancy paying an extra 10 pesos for your extra TP this is the place for you. [OTOH they're quite generous sponsors w/in the local filipino community, go figure...] Also, the security guard is often sleeping at night, making it possible for anyone to reach your room...for good or bad lol
For P 950 you can get a clean aircon room at Anchorage Inn on Real St, right in the middle of bar district. If you up that a little to about 30 US you can stay at Central Park, good value and tightly run by expats.

It is for the lurkers, newbies, and other people who haven't beeen to AC yet or the infrequent visitor who wants to up his game next time around.

I can accept your point of view. In a few of your posts, your tone and absolutes made it feel like there was only one way to do things. You never know when you are there what might happen and where you might find fun or meet people. I never thought I would go to Trax but I did with a couple of women and had fun. I also think everyone has their own opinion on what's fun or not. I may not take my bar fine barhopping but I think taking them to eat sometimes with a friend is a pleasure to them and other things. I also think how you treat them overall is important. For me, when I take a bar fine back it's not usually just straight sex. There's usually a lot of talking, listen to music, watch tv or play on the computer.

I'll be in AC for a couple of weeks from 05 March on. Will be staying at the Orchid Inn. Have been to AC 3 time before just for a few days at a time, so I'm looking forward to my "extended" stay. Have had lots of fun at the Classroom with "Officer Naughty" serving Tequila shots, nice little bar! Have enjoyed many others as well, and am going to try to spend more time down Perimeter way as well. Peso 500 BJ's are easy to find in Angeles. Just look for the small hole-in-the-wall type clubs that line fields Ave. These bars are non-descript little joints that sometimes offer such service. Just walk into them and buy a beer to feel the place out. A lot of times the girls will ask you if you want the service. The key is you gotta feel the girls out by being friendly and playful, not sit there like a bump on a log. Hats off to ya if you can last two hours during a blow job session. Most of the girls their you won't want to BF and take back to the room. Buy a cheap one here in AC, (make sure it's "openline") for max 2000 pesos you will get a nice new Nokia including SIM, charger and warranty. 2nd hand is even cheaper, of course, but the warranty is short or non-existant and the phone is probably more or less pinoyed (ie extra colored backlights, hello kitty covers, keys worn by excessive texting, "fixed" a gazillion times etc)
2. Yes, but usually one incuded with the phone, else get a Smart SIM, 100 pesos.
3. Most providers have various schemes to make your load go away, even Smart, but less so than Globe IMO. You can top up in various ways, electronic load (30 / 60 / 115 Pesos) in any roadside cellphone shop etc, or top up cards for bigger loads (300 + 500 Pesos) info leaflet included with SIM usually.
If you're still clueless when you get here - hit me up with a PM and I'll take you shopping and even help you load your phone. Heck, if there are more newbies out there who want to cut to the chase and not spend time loading phones I can even arrange to have new Nokias with SIM + load delivered to your hotel at the night of arrival. This way you will also know your PI cellphone # prior to arrival...just PM if interested..

The safety issue is always a concern. I would say the general rules apply. The more people traffic and lighting there is, the safer it will probably be. You are in a third world country and the money in your pocket is probably the equivalent of $10,000 or more in relative buying power for the locals. Think accordingly. I have never experienced or talked to someone, who has run into problems in the lighted areas of Fields. Any issues tend to pop up outside the main active drag.
The waitresses in the bars and girls out front are available. They are not, in my experience, any better or worse. The waitresses are doing that job, because that is their preference. When I have asked, they prefer not to be on stage due to modesty issues. True or not, it seems like a reasonable explanation. The girls out front are there because they are either attractive, outgoing or both. That has nothing to do with how they will click with you and absolutely nothing to do with how good they are in bed. Often times, the quiet ones have more to say that will interest you, instead of just talking your ears off with nonsense.
The wall flower customer vs. the lamp shade on head customer is again, just a reflection of how those people decide to have fun. Also keep in mind that guys that dance on stage or are the center of attention end up in photos on the internet. Not everyone can afford for that to happen. In those cases, low key is the way to go.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum I had a trip of a life time to angeles. I got back yesterday to the states and the depression has set in. I went to ac on the 7th and got there at 2am and the place was jumping! On advice from a aussie I ran into I hit champayne and ran back to hotel with 2 ladies. Was not disapointed for they spent nights with me the whole time there and day time hit the short time places, including a short time with some ladies at dollhouse and illusions. Man, I have been wanting to say this for a couple months now, so thank you for putting it so well. Generalization and assumption is human nature, but it can be a bit irritating when you read someone who 'has all the answers' nitpick the style of others. I have always had slightly different tastes and needs than most, and through this board have always acquired enough background and information to seek out what *I* am seeking. In return I post my experiences as an information resource merely to be considered by the brothers on the board, not for formal critique.
I have been very successful by my tastes in my travels, but I know what I like is not for everybody. I tend to go a bit slower in my quest for better hotels and better ladies to create the relaxing fantasy encounters I do not get back in the states. Others meanwhile are looking for quantity or budgetary success, while more still are on a photo hunt. Very well put. The problem is that the whole scene is so unprofessional and poorly managed in AC that the "wall flower customers" needs are very often overlooked. Unfortunately very few mamasans run a tight ship and tamad jollibees are, unfortunately, very common in AC. Case in point..I couldn't help laughing last night passing one of the perimeter bars - the door girls were checking out the latest Avon catalog so naturally all potential customers passing by were duly ignored :D
On a positive note, I checked out the Hotel Tiger last night and was pleasantly surprised. This hotel on 126 Narciso St is w/in walking distance from Fields and looks like a good deal for the budget-minded traveller.
Rooms are available @ 1000 P per night and up with weekly/monthly discounts of 10 and 15% respectively. If you need a good, clean hotel with all the basics and then some more thrown in for good measure, this is it. The hotel is really wired (and -less): inhotel and inroom wifi..PLUS...LAN connections...PLUS..a complete Internet connected PC set on each floor..all of this at no extra cost for guests. Book early, they have been more or less sold out since opening. No surprise.

I actually expected that with the prevalence of do-it-yourself blood tests now that there was some type of more complete testing in such a popular destination as AC, especially given the focus on ASEAN business exchange and tourism. My point was basically that while Tiger sure is a very good deal @ P900 daily (weekly prepaid rate) their monthly rate just drops an additional 5 % and 25 k Pesos monthly still gives you quite a lot of purchasing power in the rental market in AC. A decent unfurnished apt can be rented for 3-4000 P/month and up (sans utilities) on a yearly basis, so the various long term serviced/furnished apts cannot deviate too much from that...
There are so many options available, including the hotels in Diamond Subd (requires a little legwork or a jeepney/trike ride), where you will probably be able to get good long term discounts.
Just let me know your ballpark budget and any specific requests such as walking distance, kitchenette etc and I'll try to suggest the best AC LT rental bang for your bucks.

Very good advice Spamhog, although sometimes it can really impress filipinos if you can quote certain Republic Acts (in a cool, calm and collected way). Actually if you ARE right, did NOTHING wrong and look like you are determined to prove it, they will often start to feel a little uneasy. And when you feel like they are ready to drop whatever scam they were trying to pull...make sure to provide a nice way out that preserves face of all parties involved.

I think this advice extends to anywhere outside your 'own back yard'. Why be stupid and challenge the machismo of an authority that has an advantage over you? If you comply, the worst that can happen (unless you are patently guilty) is you have to go back to the station and pay the 'fine' there unless you want to wait for the consul to come whenever they can. I do not see it going that far for such a farce unless you are guilty or did something else to draw the ire of the cops.
However in most cases I would have to say that you will put them off game and remove yourself from the 'fast and convenient' target category. If you force them to take you back to the station there is paperwork and explanations, all while they are not on the street hustling some other poor slob. Or if they are just con artists, what more can they do?
Of course, if you are in a dark alley outside the public view: I would do the smart thing and give them whatever they want. But you are inviting such trouble by being in said alley, of course!

No it's not safe to assume that all girls who work in jobs other than the bars are bar-girls. Last Saturday night, a friend and I were coming back to the US border in Tijuana when we were accosted by Mexican police. Ostensibly, they were looking for Viagra, which, is sold without prescription everywhere in TJ so I don't know whats illegal with that. Anyway, we were spreadeagled by two cops with nasty attitudes. I had about $500 in my right pocket and tried to keep my right hand on the pocket to prevent the cop from stealing my money. He roughly pulled my hand off, at which point, I turned around to face him. Very slowly, he put his hand in my pocket, pulled out the cash and handed it to me. He then continued with his search, which revealed nothing anyway. I've also had this happen in Bangkok, but as I don't use drugs I don't worry about it.
My feeling about these encounters with the police is that it is a battle of wills. If they wanted to rob you, then they would simply put a gun to your head and take your money. But I haven't heard of that happening. Maybe they're afraid of a scene and perhaps losing their jobs or some other unpleasantness, so usually, they use a pretext to get you to cough up something, like the 'indecent exposure' scam. They are on shaky ground and they know it.
Because I'm never carrying anything illegal, right from the start, I've got a stern, uncompromising attitude. Sure, I comply with their orders, but its obvious to them from the getgo that this isn't going to be an easy extortion. I've always been let go. Never once have they taken it to the next level and asked me for money. It doesn't matter what the language is, they understand by the body language that its going to be a problem. If they did ask for money, then I'd insist on a receipt, with their name on it......at the police station. With the American consul present.
Spam Hog is right that they have the upper hand, but not totally. If they did, they'd dispense with scams and force the money from you. But they fear the hue and cry that would inevitably ensue, so they aren't all powerful.

Last Saturday night, a friend and I were coming back to the US border in Tijuana when we were accosted by Mexican police. Ostensibly, they were looking for Viagra, which, is sold without prescription everywhere in TJ so I don't know whats illegal with that. Anyway, we were spreadeagled by two cops with nasty attitudes. I had about $500 in my right pocket and tried to keep my right hand on the pocket to prevent the cop from stealing my money. He roughly pulled my hand off, at which point, I turned around to face him. Very slowly, he put his hand in my pocket, pulled out the cash and handed it to me. He then continued with his search, which revealed nothing anyway. I've also had this happen in Bangkok, but as I don't use drugs I don't worry about it.
My feeling about these encounters with the police is that it is a battle of wills. If they wanted to rob you, then they would simply put a gun to your head and take your money. But I haven't heard of that happening. Maybe they're afraid of a scene and perhaps losing their jobs or some other unpleasantness, so usually, they use a pretext to get you to cough up something, like the 'indecent exposure' scam. They are on shaky ground and they know it.
Because I'm never carrying anything illegal, right from the start, I've got a stern, uncompromising attitude. Sure, I comply with their orders, but its obvious to them from the getgo that this isn't going to be an easy extortion. I've always been let go. Never once have they taken it to the next level and asked me for money. It doesn't matter what the language is, they understand by the body language that its going to be a problem. If they did ask for money, then I'd insist on a receipt, with their name on it......at the police station. With the American consul present.
Spam Hog is right that they have the upper hand, but not totally. If they did, they'd dispense with scams and force the money from you. But they fear the hue and cry that would inevitably ensue, so they aren't all powerful.
Of course, all this depends on you, the gringo, being innocent. If you're not, then I guess that you have to start smiling and negotiating :)

Actually, chlamydia has no symptoms in 80% of the people affected. The test they would have to run weekly on all the girls would cost quite a bit of money, so I'm assuming the clinics do a visual and maybe a smar that doesn't go anywhere but the trash (cost effective). Remember, it's a requirement to be tested in order for the girls to hold their entertainment license. So they go weekly and get the once over. Who says the clinics are actually doing their jobs? In the States it takes 3 to 7 days for results to come back. Imagine how many mongers a girl can infect in that amount of time? It's really simple...cover that rascal up or pay the consequences.
