ThanksTypical rate at one of the Sabai Massage is Bht1500 - 1700 for 90 minutes. The Sabai Dee, last time I visited, charged Bht600 and then you had to negotiate with the lady for the 'extras'. Ends up round about the same price so long as you are prepared to bargain. I prefer the 'all in' price then if the lady is really obliging you can reward her with a tip.
Avoid Dau, lady number 154 (not sure) at Sabai or Sabai dee massage. Her phot was put on the forum one year or two ago. I took her and she really looks like a stunner but she is a *****. She has her way to get you horny by just doing nearly nothing, and when she has finnished the massage (very profesionnally, you could not complain), she would for more money for a simple BJ and for fucking. "Not 700 B", said she. As a general rule, avoid the girls who look too perfetct, too profesionnal. I know, it is difficult to judge, from behind a window.
Just returned from a 2 week long trip in Pattaya. Spent several nights at Misty's GO GO bar. I have to say that for being low season the place was still full of beautiful ladies.
When I went in I was met by the new Mamason very nice lady and a funny. Spent about half an hour talking to her and getting the low down on all the new ladies working there since my last visit. I have to say there were allot of 9 and 10's in there.
As it was / is low season in Pattaya now, there was only a few other guys in there so I soon had a nice little group of ladies around me. We started drinking Tequila and having allot of fun. There was one lady who really caught my eye and I found out from the Mamason that she was new, in the bar for less than a month and spoke very little english. I didn't care to me this girl was hot.

I agreed to pay the BF (bar fine) 600 baht and we agreed on 1500 baht for her. This girl had a body hmmm. Well we spent another 2 of hours at the bar drinking before heading back to the hotel.
When in Pattaya I always stay at the Residence Garden. A great hotel, girl friendly and just far enough away from the action that you can relax by the pool when you want to relax.
Anyway back in the room, we shower together which was a nice surprise as most Thai girls seem alittle shy at first. Seeing her body a wet and soapy was well lets just say that little jr. was ready for action than and there. We hit the bedroom and she was as amazing as she was beautiful.

MPs: There is a cluster of them on Soi2/ Second Road, from your hotel exit direction beach, at beach turn right, walk passings sois 6,5,4,3 and then 2. Walk up Soi2. Your destination is at the end, near and on SecondRoad.
Why walk? The route is one way, the wrong way.
PS: MPs are not traditional Thai massage places.

I arrived in Pattaya yesterday around 3:00pm - and Pattaya is just amazing. I'll sketch my experiences during my stay. Here is my report on my first day:
I took the airport taxi from BKK (2,000B) because I didn't find anything cheaper. On this side I've noted several taxi services offering 800B taxis for the return trip. And my hotel offers a minishuttle for guests at 300B.
I'm staying at the Apex. The place is relatively close to the action on Walking street - and cheap at 500B. The air conditioner is barely adequate though, and I may move on.
I started hitting the go-gos at 7:00pm, and while the shows had not started I was very excited upon seeing the huge collection of girls at each. I ended up splurging at bit on the one I picked buying her two ladies drinks, and paying here 1500B to accompany me to a rented room, then play pool and drink with me, then go back to my hotel for one more round. It was only 11:00pm at that point and I was tired from my long travels. (We had originally agreed to 2000B for the night, but she later balked and going to sleep at that hour. Ha!)
I awoke at 7:00am... guys, even the 24-hr internet cafes are shuttered at that hour... I must work on sleeping longer.
Pastorlist - go to the next soi away from the beach soi buakhaeo between 2nd and 3rd roads. turn left (head toward central) there are a couple of 24/7 i-net cafes there that stay opne - what might happen tho is that the operator might take a nap
I found that sawasdee hotels generally have good AC (couple ofblocks away)
2000B from Donmuang? must have gone up - in march it was 1500 tops. The 300B ride back is a minibus with 8 seats
IF you arrive that early again (noonish I'd guess) Take the airportbus to Ekkamai bus staion for 100B and the direct bus to P'ya for another 100 or so.
I usually get in around midnite so I'm stuck with a cab like it or not. (and then I try to hook up with someone in Tokyo to share the ride.
Sleep later by staying up longer. (poor pun)

If you try one of the travel agents in Soi Post offfice you should be able to get a private car for bht 1200 which includes the toll fares and is more comfortable than a taxi. If you are really on the cheap there is an aircon bus that does the trip from pattaya to Airport for approx Bht100.
You will soon adjust to the timings, stay up later with some TG and spend longer in bed with her in the morning.

Thanks Sxer and Dinghy for managing my expectations for the return trip! Of course, that is the furthest thing from my mind at the moment! On Day Two, I tried exploring some of the Pattaya elements I had been longing for: Soapies and BJ bars!
At 15:00 I dropped by that two Sabai establishments recommended by this forum and giving Sabai Dee a wide berth. Inside the Sabai's you could view 30+ women through a window, but they could view you too! (I was under the impression it was one way glass in MPs.) It proved difficult to look the ladies over when your glance uniformly caused them to start waving at you and gesturing to pick their number. I did not find a girl suited for me at either, and vowed to return at a later time when the girls might be better. Does anyone have a favorite time of the day to go?
At 21:00 (after a movie, Baht bus, and an experience detailed below) I found myself lured into The Pumping Station in Soi Post office by a very attractive young lady. Will be in Pattaya sometime in July and was wondering what was the best hotel to stay in for about $50 US Dollars per night (Also Girl Friendly) that is close to all of the gogo bars and all of the action in pattaya. Any Suggestions? Also is it best to book the hotel while in Pattaya or is it best to prebook the hotel in advance? Any help would be great.

But if you refer to their language skills, then I have bad news, never heard any girl talking Greek even though I met one who had her marriage with a guy from Greece registered at Naklua.
Pastorlist - you just make it clear that "I butterfly". They get the message. If you frequent Beach Road, you can get take out for even less than the take out pizza (oh, and IF you want pizza, there are some of them there, too) . One thing, though - the ones who ask about butterfly MIGHT be available for limited engagement with lower costs. IF you do the "blood check at the clinic" thing, they might even be BB material. Just don't get too involved
Massages - You can actually do better with "real" as in "non-sexual" massage if you look around. They aren't too easy to find, but they are out there. One of the best is a Wat Po (BKK, though) - they almost break every bone/muscle in your body - you go back to the room and take a long hot shower to limber up. Never found comparable in Pattaya yet

For a Thai Tradition massage. There is a local place that I have visited for a number of years. No longer have their card but when I did It stated it as a Massage and Coffee shop.
From the corner of Tops on Second Rd. Start heading up Central Pattaya Rd. on the left side toward Carrafour/Food land. Once you get up Pattaya Sai 3 Rd. which has a major signal lights. Continue across the street toward Foodland, you will then see a motorcycle shop then a small alley and on the other side of the alley is small white building with pillars in the front. The doors all have dark smoke glass. Walk-in and you will see tables and a fishbowl. Most girls come in after 1pm. 240 Baht for a two hour massage and air conditional rooms.

Around 16:00 I discovered Soi 6... Guys, there were several hundred girls lining the street outside the beer bars! All types. It took me almost three hours to travel the length of that street, and during the walk I - on THREE occasions - took a girl up to a rented room. This is no small feat because I'm not on drugs.
How this invariably works:
1) You walk while forty girls are calling out to you.
2) One of them catches your eye because she is _____ (fill in: flawless, the smallest, the most graceful, etc.)
3) You approach, take her hand, and let her lead you into the air-conditioned bar.
4) You buy the two of you drinks (140B) while sizing up her potential.
5) You either think better of it, or rent the bar's upstairs room (300B).
6) You smile big and pay the girl (500B).
After this experience I was very displeased with the go-gos I visited later that night. I don't know why go-go girls deserve anything more than bar girls - the girls are no more beautiful and several of the go-gos I've visited were bad - with old girls and very little dancing. The one *very* notable exception was Living Dolls, where every girl was attractive and the show girls gorgeous. They also did real dance/stripteases including one wet number that is replaying in my mind as I type this... I don't know how approachable the show girls are - most weren't wearing numbers and what was left of my daily budget wouldn't allow for a serious inquiry after those gems... Maybe tonight!!!

I also frequently use the traditional massage LittleBigMan was talking about. It is directly at the intersection Central Pattaya Rd / Pattaya 3rd Rd. or in Thai "Si Yek Pattaya Klang Sai Saam". It's the white building left hand side if you are facing north towards Sukhumvit Highway. The name of the massage is Bopaya. The price is 120 baht per hour for farang, 80 for Thai and 250 - 500 for Japanese :)
Tip the girls an additional 100 baht, massage is a hard work and they get only 40 baht per hour as far as I remember.

Sxer is right, the easiest way is to pick a girl at Soi 6 and ask her if she is willing to do anal. Eden in Bangkok is another place where "greek" is guaranteed.

This place is on the other side of Sukhumwit Rd. on Soi Nern Plub Wan. This area is consider to be an Muslim area. If you go down Soi Nern Plub Wan a few miles until you get to the snake show, pass that and you will see a sign on you right (above) neon sign that says Nern Plub Massage. Has a foot massage picture on the neon sign. There are some outside resturant under the sign and the massage place is behind them and there is also a secure housing complex next to it. Massage is 200 baht for two hours and 300 baht for 3 hours. Although I usually tip 100 at other places I can only tip 50 baht when the misses is there.
I do miss Bopaya massage. The girls there for a little extra would rub that Bengay on my lower back and part of my buns for a good half hour. Those are the good old days!

I have never heard of a no-hands bar before. I have heard of no-hands restaurants, but only in Bangkok. There were 2 a few years back (I think one was called the Galaxy Restaurant). I don't think they are there anymore.

I made it back to Sabai Room for that soapie I was looking forward to. The details of my experience follow: I arrive at 21:30, and see almost fifty girls on the other side of the window. None of them immediately click with me, so I turn to my attendant. I was under the impression that this man was on my side, and I was free to tell him exactly what I wanted so he could ensure my expectations are met. FWIW, I've almost never had the impression that the attendant is on my side -- every once in a while that will be the case, but a lot of times it's clear that he's there to push me to ladies who haven't had much business, to try to jack the price up on me, to hurry me along, and then to press me for a tip for all these services. I even had one guy come up, double the price I'd just been given by someone else, and then start laughing when I started to walk out (the guy who gave me the quote was furious, chewed him out, and got me back by giving me an even lower price.) Sounds like this guy was being an asshole because you didn't follow his recommendation, transferring that minor loss of face onto you and the woman you chose.
The percentage of times an attendant has directed me to a woman who performs specific services I'm after is pretty much the same percentage as I get from picking on my own, so by and large I'm polite to those guys but basically ignore them.

Just got back from LOS. I spent 7 days in Pattaya and 5 in BKK. I got really bored in Pattaya this time. I guess one can take only so many "What your name, where you come from"s... Unlike my prior trips, I couldn't find a girl worth keeping longer than a night...
I'm into Russian girls, so I investigated the Russian scene in Pattaya a bit. As it is was the low season, there weren't many Russian tourists. The Las Vegas go-go bar which reportedly had some Russian girls was closed for renovations and the Russians girls in the Walking Street - who are actually not Russian but Uzbek, Khazak etc- were all horrible looking. The only Russian girl I had in the entire trip was a tourist girl I picked up in the Marine Disco.

There were volunteer tourist police patrolling Walking Street last night, and I saw them round up a few shady looking characters - good for them. The police certainly didn't interfere with people going into and out of clubs and go-gos; I visited quite a few between 22:00 and 23:30. Lessons learned: 1) The card-check system really does protect me - without it I'd have discovered she vanished only in the morning and not had any recourse to address the broken contract or any stolen property. 2) Never pay in advance for services - there is no guarantee about what you'll actually get.

Hotel? You could try (yuk in my opinion, but what do I know) Penthouse - right in the middle of things (Pattayaland). Don't be put off by the "boy bars" in the area - they are up front about bar contents (guys) You COULD go up to one on Soi 8 (beer bars all over) like Eastiny, Flipper, others (about your price range). For a bit more comfort than the "cheap seats" try a Sawassdee (maybe 500B or so) - clustered off 2nd road soi 10 (left - closer to beach - or right) or Soi Diana toward Soi Buakhaow (beyond 2nd - away from Beach) or Buakhao at Honey Inn (but still farther from walking street/beach) - be advised, several DO NOT HAVE LIFTS and climbing steps in the heat is "interesting". There are some lower priced hotels in the soi 13, 13/1, and 13/2 streets - a few years ago I stayed in "Surreena" on 13/2 (soi post office) for 500B - basic with continental breakfast if you care. AC. Most of the area quiets down after 2am
Bus station is on North road between THIRD road and Sukhumwit - Take a songthaew for 10 or 15B - just walk out to the road, cross the road and wait for 1 to go by, wave,they will stop. The numbers on the road signs are the "soi number". between Beach and 2nd the sois are the same both ends (and, I never tried to find one that changed in the middle, so I don't know if they do)
One thing - make sure you get the BLUE/WHITE bus from the bus station (Ekkamai I would guess, but Morchit actually has faster service) YOU DO NOT WANT THE BLUE/WHITE/ORANGE STRIPE bus - takes an extra HOUR over the approx 2 to get to Pattaya. You go INSIDE the bus terminal to get the ticket - the outside busses are all milk runs - they stop at every wide spot in the road

Dinghy already answered most of your questions.
At the Penthouse you will never be alone even if you don't take a girl back home. Lots of cockroaches will share the room with you. It's a dirty place so if cleanliness is an issue for you avoid it.
But rooms are nicely decorated, the girls like it. Too much stuff provided by the hotel (which will charge you for it if you or your girls decide to actually use any of it) and lots of ads laying around. I found it even dangerous when I had been there last time, so much paper everywhere, very slippery.
To answer one of your questions, the "main action" is in South Pattaya. Just walk along Beach Rd. to see the different bar areas close to it and the extension of it is Walking Street, where most Gogos and discos are.
There are several other areas like soi 2 (at 2nd Rd), soi 7 and 8, Soi Yamato and Soi Post Office and Pattayaland, which mostly have bars except the latter who has mostly Gogos.
If you don't like to walk just stop any taxi driving by and ring the bell as soon as you see reach any of these areas, give the driver 5 baht and walk off.
Beach Rd is a oneway and connects North Pattaya and South Pattaya. Second Rd. is also a oneway paralell to Beach Rd just allowing to drive the other direction.
Pattaya doesn't really have a center, even though there is a Central Pattaya Rd, mongering wise Beach Rd and it's extension Walking Street are the center.
Best action ?
If you like ST Soi 6 is the place to be, if bars Soi 2, 7 and 8, if Gogos Pattaland and Walking Street. There are many other places like Third Road and beyond but for a beginner stay close to Beach Rd, it will keep you busy for a while.
Jomtien is a couple of kilometers away. Take a cab for about 50 baht. There are some bars and Gogos at Jomtien, definitely worth a look.

when i was in pattaya i went swimmming a few times at jomtien and i got an eye infection. i dont know for sure it was from the water, but that's what i suspect. i will follow phuquer's advice next time i am there.

There hasn't been a post for some time, but that's no surprise since this is low season. Whenever I go to a restaurant or bar in Pattaya, I'm generally the only patron. The city is still teaming with girls - and every one of them desperate to attract my attention. Being a charitable man, I try to spread my business around as much as possible. Here is my typical day:
11:00 Wake up and have breakfast
12:00 Internet
13:00 Begin two hour oil massage (400B plus 200B tip)

The Siam Bayview is not GF (and neither is its sister htl the Siam Bayshore), they will charge you a joiner fee for each single girl you take in, it was a 600 baht charge when I stayed there a few years ago, not sure if it has gone up – I managed to avoid the joiner fees but after a lot of hassle each day so I left the hotel in the middle of my stay and went somewhere else.
The night security monkeys were, all of them, complete assholes who always followed me nazi-style all the way to reception to ensure I didn’t sneak in with my hired pussy.
Stay away from these 2 hotels unless you like hassle.
Regarding closing hours, the time when you could party in Pattaya till sunrise is gone, in fact that era came to an end in the middle of 2001 when the first severe clampdown came into effect. If you, like me, enjoy partying till sunrise consider other destinations such as Brazil or the Caribbean and leave Pattaya for when you feel like just having sex, without expecting much in terms of nightlife.
In the pre-clampdown era Marine (in WS), for instance, used to close at around 4-5 am, now it closes usually at 2 am, sometimes a bit later, depending on uniformed monkeys activity – it’s true that you can still find a handful of places going on till later but they can close at any moment if the uniformed monkeys turn up so the (non-sexual) fun in Pattaya isn’t really guaranteed beyond 2 am.
Well I arrive yesterday afterrnoon in South Pattaya, Staying at the Flipper Lodge. Did the 3 's and went out strolling Beach Rd. So far I nailed 3 3-holers 2 from Northeast and one from Ko Samet...all in total of 1700BHT.......but the thing is I FORGOT MY FUCKING CAMERA!! I am such a dick!
Overall Pattaya is a-ok having a goodtime here so many things to do keep you guys posted

you can actually find a stunner at any beer bar if you are patient and lucky.

'Atlantic Bar' is the outmost left one of the elevated bars at Soi 3.
They claim that the "service only" girls can't be taken, which isn't true. Some will go, some won't. Just give it another try and offer her to meet her later somewhere else. Maybe she has a reason for not letting her friends know that she will go with you. Maybe she has a farang sponsor and worries that someone will tell him when he's back next time. Be discreet.
Regarding traditional massage :
There is a small Soi directly at the Dolphin at North Pattaya Rd / Naklua Rd. In this Soi is a massage where only blind people do work. Give it a shot. Massage was OK and due to their blindness these people are much more sensitive and can find muscle tensions others won't find. It's quite cheap too and you help them to make a living.

Well, gentlemen, after being back in reality for little bit more than a month, I am able to arrange my impressions and give myself a feedback about all the amazing things that happened in Pattaya.
First of all let me say a big thank you to all the guys who described the scene, the locations, the streets, the girls .. Everything that is worth to know. So it was not hard for me to look around in the scene, because a lot of things seemed to be very well known.
Flight with Thai-Airways was comfortable, after nearly 11 hours I landed in Bangkok. As I booked my first trip in a travel agency, the transfer to Pattaya was without any problems. So I arrived in my hotel after 3 hours in the late forenoon.
The hotel was a little bit outside of Pattaya in the direction to Rayong, but they had an excellent shuttle service to town and back again. After 4 days I rent a big chopper at the corner of Beach Road and Soi Post office for about 350 Baht a day for two weeks. Nice experience for a NON –UK European to ride the bike on the “ wrong “ side of the streets. But as I drive bikes since about more than 20 years, it was only the first day stressful. For other people with less experience in driving bikes I can only say: Be careful, because the people there and some farangs too drive sometimes “exceptional “
About the night life I can report, that in the first nights I hunted around and did not really know where to start first. For me it was impossible to visit all these unbelievable places and check out the girls. So in the first days I tested the ladies around Soi 7 and Soi 8, took in the early evening always a girl for short time, paid 200 Baht bar fine and gave the girls 500 Baht plus tip, if they did a good job. After that I took a time out and looked out for a real stunner to take her with me for supper and dancing and after that for over night. Paid for that the same 200 bar fine and for long time service 1000 Baht plus tip after a good job.
I found many good restaurants with excellent Thai food, because I decided for myself to try to eat most Thai food during my time of vacation.
The best restaurant for me was the PIC kitchen in Soi 5. Excellent food and a brilliant ambience. On North Pattaya Road I can prefer the Thai House Restaurant. Good food and a good show on stage. And don’t forget after supper to order the excellent “Special Irish Coffee“ prepared with a big show and very tasty. Same show with the coffee ceremony you can find in the Lobster Pott on Walking Street. There they serve delicious food too.
After 3 days of hunting around I was tired and decided to do that, what I asked you before in March or April – looking for a steady lady, little bit older and able to make a good conversation and entertainment. For me it was really clear, that the chance to find such a woman in the bar scene was 1:1000. But I had only less than 3 weeks time. So what to do.
I checked the massage parlours, beginning with VIP massage in Soi Diamond. Contacted the manager – his name is Tony – little bit older gay, but very friendly. I looked at the ladies, made my choice and asked him, whether she spoke English. Found one, paid my drinks and 700 Baht bar fine and went upstairs with the girl. After the body massage we negotiated the price for the sex (about 1000 Baht plus tip, if excellent service)
Same I did in Sabai Dee (but I did not liked the managers, because there service was bad and they were not interested to give informations), the girls had no charisma, so I went away without testing anyone.
In Sabai Land the service was better, I checked different girls. Service was from normal too great. I was very impressed by a little stunner (1, 45 cm); I think it was number 100 and her name was ICE. Did a great job. Could not believe that this little lady was able to suck such a dick and make great sex as a normal sized girl.
Finally I went to Sabai Room. Had good contacts to the manager ( He is a diabetic and drinks over the day and in the early night always tea – later on sometimes he was really plastered.) But a good guy and always helpful. He helped me to find the girl I was looking for. Not to young and not to old, speaking English in a way that a conversation was possible, looks good – for me – and fucked like a devil – with me .
Buy the way. In Sabai Land and in Sabai Room I always had to pay before going with the girls upstairs – 1600 Baht for everything.
And when I decided to take the girl with me over night, I had to bar fine her again. The later the night was, the cheaper was the prize. This prize was already “all inclusive “means, the next morning I had nothing to pay for the girl – except tip, if the job was excellent.
The girl I met there I asked after the first night, whether she wanted to stay together with me the last two weeks. We negotiated about the prize and then I bar fined her next afternoon in Sabai Room. Paid 6000 Baht over all for buying her out. She got 10000 Baht a week –and she was worth every Baht.
Finally I can say, I had a very very good time for this first time. Got what I wanted to have. Had a beautiful tour guide who set behind me on the bike and showed me the surrounding of Pattaya ( Nong Nooch, Tiger Zoo, Rayong, the excellent restaurants all over there on the country side, big ones, small ones, showed me how to eat in Thai Style, taught me the different foods and fruits and vegetables) went with me to the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital when I had an ear infection – and always at night moved like a hurricane in bed.
For me this was one of the best vacations, I ever had in my life. And – as you can suppose, I have already booked my next flight for another 3 weeks in winter time.
I love this country, I love the food, and I like the culture and most of all – these beautiful human beings – called Thai ladies.
You can call them hooker or skunks or prostitutes or whatever you want. My experience was all over positive. Give them a square deal and show them that you respect them. And they will respect you too and take care of you and treat you in a way you will never more find in Europe.

Frankfurter, Phuquer was right about stunners existing in probably any big bar area. They can be yours if you start early and don't bite too soon. I agree the key is patience. Early in my trip I'd jump once a girl "attractive enough" was found, but now I hold out for much better.
If you start at eight or nine o'clock, then I'll guarantee you'll find one. Start your search at Soi 2 - there are really fifty bars in that complex so it contains several hundred girls for you to browse through. Take a stroll and look. And if you're just looking for ST, then you cannot do better than Soi 6 with its hundreds of girls. (I go there every day!)
I've been out of touch because a beautiful Russian tourist fell into my hands and stayed these last three days. Pattaya really is paradise! no need for negotiating. I never fix the price beforehand and I almost never have been asked by a girl how much I will pay for her.
But the very few cases a girl asked me or told me how much she wants, just say that she will get paid by performance. If she isn't sure about her own performance just skip her. If she accepts, it's a guarantee for a lot of fun as she gets more money the more fun you have. But don't be cheap if you are really satisfied, always be fair and stand by your word, a deal is a deal.

Well, you never now. Paying 2.5k in Pattaya, for any girl, is unrealistic, but I think you should have tried to negotiate that down, after all many go-go hookers tend to ask for whatever they think they can get away with, though I agree that some of these Superbaby (or Super-rip-off) girls seem to be really spoilt for some unknown reason – I’ve never actually found any diamond in there, there are mostly overpriced hardcores.
Negotiating prices down won’t usually spoil the fun, I’ve done it with loads of Thai hookers (mainly in BKK as it isn’t really necessary to do it in Pattaya, except for go-go girls, which I tend to avoid) and it didn’t ever affect the fun at all. It won’t affect the fun because in fact they are just hookers, i.e. it’s all business for them regardless of what they say, so negotiating a price is just part of the game.
You also mentioned that she demanded upfront payment, which is a definite sign of bad attitude, so you did well by paying your drinks and leaving. As you know, there are plenty of fish in the sea.

What you did wrong (I think) is offered the 1000baht up front. With the other girl, you gave her 500baht at the end. What you should have done with this one was when she asks how much, you say if she does good, you will pay good. And leave it at that. If she performs good in bed, feel free to tip up to 2000baht if you want. Up to you. But if she is lousy, 500baht is more than enough. Think of it as her salary being based on productivity. The better she is, the more she gets.
Raul - some of the travel agents on Soi Buakhaow toward south road from Soi Diana have signs listing mini-bus service to U-tapao. Otherwise you would need to either taxi it or ride the "bus". Figuring out where the terminal is isn't that easy - I haven't figured it out YET ("yet", of course, having an entirely different meaning in Thai) Ask around - you might find a good taxi deal - but getting back to Pattaya from U-tapao might be more of an adventure. And many of us, who are after quality, will sometimes go home alone rather than taking someone below their standards.

I've just returned to BKK after 4 days in Pattaya. After many happy hours reading Pastoralist, Frankfurter and others I felt fairly well armed. So here goes:
I stayed at The Apex (Pattaya 2nd Rd, opp Soi 12). 500 Baht/night for back wing (marble floor) room - I'll post more details in the Pattaya Hotels Section. Suffice to say it's well located for the action.
First day I have a look around Walking Street, a few beer bars down there. I went to Amazon A go-go and Super Baby A go-go. Both places were pretty empty and the interaction with the girls was all fairly run of the mill. I wasn't particularly excited by any of it (maybe jet-lagged) so I wandered back to Apex.
On the way there I was amazed at the number of freelancing SW's on the seafront - some in the 6-8 range (Singha Specs?!). Mental note was made to return at later point.
As I got near to Apex I went to a small beer bar in the block next to Kiss restaurant (just South of Kiss) on Pattaya 2nd rd. Now I've just about had enough for the day, so after a wash up and dinner at Kiss I head off to walking street 'just to look'. so i met freeler yesterday and we took the air along beach road. the tide seems to be permanently high right now; the boats have been moved away and the jet skis are a pain in the butt. the best leisurely stroll is from soi 14 to soi 1. roadworksm ugly skanks and pathetic ladyboys/freaks dominate from soi 14 to walking street. the skanks are, as gladiator attests, generally uglier and older than of yore. as they are more experienced and meatier, this suits freeler who has honed his skills in the rural arenas where 200 baht guarantees an orgy. to play along with freeler, i have fucked a few of his favorite grizzlys and they do like a good hammering. freeler has all kinds of interesting theories on this: he reckons they want sex as much as the princely 300 baht or so he pays them. they certainly give more bang for the buck.

Thais call themselve 18 after their 17th birthday, not after their 18th birthday like we do. Therefore you got to be careful. Instead of asking about her age you should ask about her birthday an do the math yourself.
I have a pretty nice idea what had happened and what the guy at the reception had been talking to the girl.
Down at the reception he looked at the pic - hard to judge because IDs are usually made at the age of 16 and many people still got their school haircut, don't wear makeup and so on - had some doubts and asked for her name and maybe her birthday to compare it with the ID. She could obviously remember both facts and therefore the receptionist told you that everything is OK.
Maybe he wasn't totally convinced or wanted to check back because you were concerned. So he phoned to your room and also asked for her adress in Udon. She obviously couldn't remember what was printed on the ID. Therefore he know that the ID didn't belong to her.
If she would have been just a bit smarter, had used this ID more often or if the ID would belong to relative, she could have remembered the home address printed on the ID and the receptionist would have accepted her.
Only a few in here who blindly believe in IDs deny that it works like that and suddenly turn into kiddy fuckers.
That was just another example that the "NO ID NO GO" rule isn't fool proof and doesn't work out all the time. If the guy at the reception wouldn't have cared that much you wouldn't even know about it.
I know a TG (20yo) who has a younger sister (19yo) who does just that every day to enter discos. The older sister enters a disco with a friend. At the entrance she has to provide her ID. After entering she hands out the ID to her friend who leaves the disco immediately to pick up the younger sister who will then again provide the very same ID to the bouncers. Laws in LOS are quite contradicting, age of consent is 15, you can work in a place for prostitution at the age of 18 but aren't allowed to enter a disco until you turn 20.
Anyway, even if a girl can provide an ID immediately it doesn't neccesarily belongs to her. They usually store their purses behind the bar or if in a gogo in their lockers. So it's easy to take it from a close friend or a relative without you knowing.
Especially if the guys can't talk Thai - like in your case - and therefore don't understand what the girls talk to each other, in case you could hear it anyway (loud music), she could tell another girl to borrow her ID or whatever.

and point 3) checking id cards is very fallible. you were lucky that her id was obviously fake (ie not her's). if she'd had an older sister or cousin in town (many do), and not been so amateurish, there's a possibility you could've found yourself in serious shit.
best to simply not target the teenagers because sooner or later you will run into an ****d one, as proven by your experience.

i don't think her id was faked, but if you just meant it didn't belong to her i agree.
it's also very hard to tell if a girl is a 17yo teenager or 20yo just by looking at her. some grow old fast due to smoking, alcohol, life style and sometimes extensive sunbaths (some still do) or working at the rice fields.

Some of the comments I got were unwarranted. I'm in my mid-twenties, so when I take girls 18-22 years old to my hotel, we're talking about girls a few years younger than me. Most of the girls I take home in Pattaya are my own age. I tend not to be attracted to women older than I am.

I will not discuss this subject further. Today, I noticed Las Vegas's street sign was finally lit up (only twenty-three days later than scheduled) and I stopped by from 22:00-22:30. Here is my report:

the date of birth is indeed in an obvious position, but you can only read the day and year, they are printed as numbers. The month is printed as a word in Thai characters.
The year of birth refers to the buddhist calender and will read something like 25xx.
The current year is 2548, therefore the year of birth must be 2529 or less if you want to be on the safe side. If it reads 2530 you have to take the month of birth in count as well.
You might ask someone to read it for you. If it sounds like
ganja(yon) = september
tula(com) = october
puedsatchika(yon) = november
tanwa(com) = december
you should keep your hands off that girl.
The ending (com) and (yon) are often not used in a normal conversation.
I usually talk to the girls and try to gather some information before I finally decide to take them and check IDs. That way you will be able to verify her story or to detect scams.
For example : If a girl tells you that her birthday is at May 5th but the later provided ID reads something else then the ID doesn't belong to her.

The reason why most of us don't respond to the discussions (I am being polite) is that it is not worth the time to get embroiled in a senseless arguments. This week, I came back to the office after being in another division for some time. This division spends its time out on the road, working away from the office. My normal division sits in the office.
Road warrior division is hell busy. Sit at office division is not.
I come in, and at drinks after work, all I hear is ***** ***** ***** about this person, how someone else isn't pulling their weight, complain about HR, complain about the firm etc etc etc. You get the idea. Office politics in capital letters stuff.
The road warrior division when they do come in, party, laugh, get pissed, and have a generally wild time. I haven't heard much bitching or office politics going on.
So, going back to the sit in office division ***** session, I commented after hearing this for maybe half an hour - "You all have WAY too much time on your hands. The other division are too busy to worry about this crap or carry it on."
Now have a think about this. Can you think of anywhere that we all know, were the above comments are applicable?
And for those slow on the uptake - some people here really need to get a life, or a girl, instead of just talking about it. Notching the number of posts into three figures or more isn't a badge of honour.

On another note can you steer me in the direction of a decent hotel. I'm not necassarily a cheap charlie but I'm not rich either. I have tried the 2 & 3 star variety. I have found that 2 star tends to be on the dirty side of what I prefer, almost a "by the hour" kind of place if you get my drift.
The 3 star I have tried was the SIAM Bayview but it's not guest friendly as they require check in of your guest as well as additional fee's. Of course the added advantage is they also help me with checking ID - but I'd prefer to skip this step at the hotel as typically the face of my guests usually gives away that they aren't young enough to have to worry about. But I also feel that the SIAM Bayview should look a bit better for the amount they charge.
I'm not sure abuot the Marriott as they are about a C-note on the cheaper end of what I can get. I'd also be really worried about the Marriott considering all the hostility in the world against Western establishments. Is that something one should worry about in Pattaya / Thailand do you think?
I'll also read the Pattaya Hotels thread but I was looking for a more personal recomendation if possible.

sadly gogos and bar beers aren't safe regarding the age of the girls. even gogos hire ****d and beer bars are one of the first stops besides beach rd. for those fresh from the fields. therefore don't believe that it is safe, but the chance of picking an ****d is much smaller in a gogo than at beach rd. gogos are often checked by police and have to pay fines or might even loose their license if police will find an ****d there.
a cheap and clean hotel is sabai inn at soi 2. nothing special, no pool, but you can use the pool of the sister hotel sabai lodge just opposite the street. they even have an in room safe. good location, 900-1000 baht per day and of course absolutely girl-friendly.

You know that I've always felt and said that the attacks on you were ridiculous and disruptive to the board (even as I understood the concerns) but I ask you to just read backwards here over the past week or so and simply count the number of posts from you about this whole issue in comparison to the number of on-topic ones in this thread. (I wonder how many posts there have been, in the forum overall, discussing aspects of these attacks as opposed to the issue itself. A staggering number, no doubt.)
I had a great deal of sympathy for what you were facing while you were being patient in the face of the attacks, but as you've now decided to label your antagonists in the same way they labeled you, and rehash at all opportunities the same arguments again and again you lose all aspect of being different from them, and you thereby lose all sympathy. Calling another poster a liar, threatening others, and then proclaiming you don't engage in personal attacks is simply absurd. It truly is you, at this point, who is being most disruptive to the board. There are very few times previously (and most of them brief) when I'd have said that was the case.
Juice is correct -- you need to step away from the keyboard for a while, relax, go spend time with a favorite tilac, and regain some perspective. We might have similar opinions on hotel quality. Try the Inn House on Soi 13 for 800 per night. Still fairly new, clean, everthing works. The "pool" is a joke. Or upscale by a bit right across the street at Sandy Spring. I especially like the location and it can actually be quiet when you want to sleep.

It is an open front restaurant but would be one of the best value for money places I have found.
It is open 24/7 the waitresses are friendly & speak good english.
A good choice of western & Thai dishes & icy cold drinks.

VeteranoThe Beach area covers a big distance ie from soi 1 up to Walking street, also you do not say what type of eating place you prefer.
If you are looking for good wholesome English type food the best bet is the Pig & Whistle - soi 7.
The main places I frequent in addition to Pig & Whistle are:
Breakfast - Jimmy Macs - soi 6
Lunch - Thai - Maesiruen (not sure on spelling) - Big C complex
Dinner - A1 Garden Restaurant - BBQ fish prawns etc - soi 3
Green Tree Thai/european -beach road soi 1 area
BJ Restaurant -Thai/european beach road Soi 1 area
Somsak - soi 1 Thai/european
Alternatively I have always eaten well from the stall holders actually on the beach, BBQ prawns, squid, padthai, noodles etc etc.
There is certainly no shortage of eating houses along Beach Road from Macdonalds to traditional Thai.

The Pink Lady on Beach Rd, close to soi 7, is OK. It's one of my favourite restaurants in that area and the prices are reasonable.
If you're walking northbound along Beach Rd you'll find the Pink Lady soon after you go past soi 7.

The closest you might come to this in Pattaya would be a high end hotel with a restaurant, maybe. I have been to Pattaya before 2 or 3 times before and it was not for the food or the atmosphere...:D

the PIC Kitchen in Soi 5 is a very nice Thai style restaurant.
It's a calm and decent place with great food and a seperated cocktail bar. Not a noisy place like those other restaurants with "classical" Thai dance for tourists
They serve Thai and European food and you can choose to sit at standard tables in an aircon room or outside. Upstairs they have those small japanese tables with triangle pillows to lean on, very convienient.
The whole place is made of teak wood with traditional Thai style roofs which gives it a nice atmosphere, besides the calm traditional Thai music in the background. Very nice indeed, my favourite.
The Somsak at Soi 1 - Sxer mentioned that already - is nice as well but I prefer the PIC. If you like to see "celebrities" you might want to visit the Somsak at weekends.
Anyway, which beach are you asking for, Pattaya Beach or Jomtien ?
If Jomtien, at the eastern end there is a seafood restaurant well known by Thais. It doesn't look special but food is great. You will need to rent a bike or car to get there or better to get back. I have never seen any taxis that you might pick to get back to Pattaya.

in my opinion he long ago ceased to hear or listen to anyone who disagrees with him in the least on this. he certainly doesn't hear you, he's not going to listen to me, so what's the point of me saying anything about him? you can't possibly still be stuck on who is right and or wrong on this as that's completely irrelevant at this point...

First, click on UserCP on the upper left of your screen. Then click on Buddy / Ignore Lists on the bottom left of your screen. In the screen that opens, enter the name of a person you would like to ignore (for example: Phuquer), then press the Update Ignore List button. Enter as many names as you want to ignore, and click Update Ignore List. That is all.

I see some others have already replied to your post. Please consider the following in addition:
1. Beach Road and its tributaries (Sois 6,7,8) etc are generally for picking up women. That being so, the emphasis is on pussy, not on good cuisine. Although it is true Dickhead, Domino and a few more guys are experts in the kitchen (Domino is also an expert in the bed and some other places as well), most guys here are looking for cheap legal age pussy, not expensive meals. This will be reflected in establishments which will concentrate on man things, not femAle things. Therefore, you should:
1. Check out Big C, where the Big Titted one, libeled here by Pedant, brought me for a nice meal at my expense.
2. Walking Street area.
3. Around good and expensive hotels in Sois 1 and 2 and Naklua where there are good Russian eateries.
4. 2nd Road between Soi 13 and South Road.
5. Check out the Pattaya guide which your hotel will have.
In other words, go to where farang women go shopping and you will find your food troughs.

I personally prefer Bangkok over Manila and Cebu over Pattaya.

This place just opened next to the Polo Entertainment Center on Walking Street... but there is no need to give directions because nobody'd miss the sexy blonde dancing in a glass room over the street. I have had a drink at one of he 'Russian' go gos off walking street (jaucuzzi go go or something like that) and the show was awful and only one of the five girls in the go go was above a 6! I went to all that places,
- Cebu is too much pimp controlled (stayed 1 week around Colon) , can be cheap, but I prefer to reserve my money for the girls
Every taxi driver proposed me to take me to higher class spots, but more expensive than Thailand, so I declined
- In Manilla there is a big freelancer bar called LA Cafe in Ermita, very crowdy, received lot of proposals starting 1000 Pisos, and some bargirls around
- In Bangkok the easiest spot is around Sukhumvit with Nana complex and Sow Cowboy, and freelancers spots as Termae and Biergarden (my favorite), but fare s for shortime 2 times more than Pattaya and stressing noisy surrounding for hollidays
- In Pattaya where I am now for the 5th time you have everything you want from 500 baths ST in bars, lot of freelancers on beach and discos, just have to pick up, its the mongers paradise.
However Philippines can be a good mix of adventure and ladies adventure as most speak better english and dream to marry a foreigner for life!

I can relate to a lot of the views regarding Russian girls in South East Asia. Bus and trainfares did go up. Aircon buses by some 20%. Korat and Pilok buses where up B2 from B5 per ride, that's 40%! For some trains you now pay a higher surcharge (ie B80 not B40).
The Bahtbuses in Pattaya still had the same signs up that they had for years (July 2005).
Until that changes it's B5 short ride, B 10 long ride.

i stayed in pattaya for sixty days and enjoyed many thai women during that time. feel free to read my posts on this thread to review my experiences. the purpose of this post is to provide statistical information about the population of p4p girls i encountered. this information should answer several questions about the girls readily available in pattaya.
descriptive statistics:
size of sample population: 30 (i was temped to reach thirty my last night by picking up an unknown girl from a bar for lt, but decided instead to spend my last night with one of my known gems. number 30 was a girl from a bj bar i took while waiting for my mini-bus to the airport.)

1. introduction
pattaya has been famous in sex-tourism circles for many decades. the town itself lies in chonburi province, approx. 120 km south of bangkok the capital city of thailand. it's a beach town and with it's all year round warm tropical climate attracts all kinds of travellers apart from the noble sex-hobbyist. there is plentiful accomodation, cheap food, all modern conveniences are available and is very safe to live in, which all makes for a reasonably comfortable stay.
2. the worst of pattaya
apart from the positives mentioned before, there are some unpleasant aspects of pattaya which are worth to know. the crowds can be intimidating at times on walking street or beach road, the innumerable huge tourist buses plying the main roads seem to increase in number every year. the noise: there is continuous construction of new buildings going on all around the year. once one is finished another is torn down and it starts again with the pneumatic tools and grinders working nonstop during all daylight hours and often even beyond. especially beach road is one contionuous construction zone. although the beach chairs and umbrellas are set up on the sand it's not that much fun relaxing next to a pneumatic hammer. swimming is very inadvisable as well since the water is downright filthy especially in south pattaya but even in jomtien. the traffic on the roads is never ending and it can be a major hassle just trying to cross it to get down to the beach.
there are also always scams and ripoffs going on, inflating prices for tourists which one must be aware of. considering the women of town: one needs to sift through such an amazing quantity of uglies -especially at the lower/medium price level- (bellyfat, old, diseased or all of above) just to find a gem that often the effort seems out of proportion for the reward. considering the very few real gems available under the pile of truly ugly women it comes no surprise that often these very few beauties display some unpleasant character attitudes. possibly the best bet would be those young girls who are still fresh from the countryside, not having spent more than a month in pattaya. however they will be unlikely to speak english.
3. getting there and away
although bangkok seems to be the most popular gateway, there are other options as well. first of all there is the regular bus from bangkok's eastern bus station (ekamai) that runs every 20-30 minutes 6am-8pm. there is also a regular bus from and to bangkok's northern bus station (mo chit) and now a new service to bangkok's southern bus station (sai tai) about four times a day. this latter can be useful if you want to continue to travel on to hua hin, phuket, kanchanaburi, the floating markets or anywhere south. the bus trip between bangkok and pattaya takes aprox. 2 hours in good traffic conditions. ticket price b110. there is also a train leaving bangkok around 6am to pattaya, 4 hours trip.
chartered taxis from pattaya to bangkok charge around 800 o/w, from sukhumvit road in bangkok to pattaya the price seems to be 1000 baht. at present there are no regular flights to pattaya airport although occasional offers between phuket/pattaya do turn up. there are also regular bus services between pattaya and cities of north-east province (isaan) such as khorat, udon thani, etc. if you happen to come from vietnam through cambodia, you will have to catch a bus in trat going to pattaya.
4. around pattaya
if you have a bit of time on your hand you might care to discover the surrounding region. it can be interesting because not many foreigners go there. first of all there is the little beach town of sattahip, south of pattaya. not much to see but a couple of nice ocean front seafood restaurants with cheap local prices. take the regular white songthaews from the east side of sukhumvit road, near the central road footbridge. the half an hour trip costs 20b/person. you might want to take your hired **** for a cheap outing for the day. the large town of rayong about an hours ride down south is more interesting. there are many markets, shops, colorful fishing fleet on the river and a nice, quiet beach (can't swim though). there are hotels where you can even sleep for less than 400b. rayong is also the jum-off point when going to ko samet. catch the large aircon buses from the same spot that have 'rayong' sign in the window. ticket price 50b o/w.
towards the north, on the way back to bangkok there is the large provincial capital of chonburi. going this way you catch the aircon buses from the west side of sukhumvit road, just under the footbridge. more interesting is the lovely si racha with a very colorful fishing harbour and very nice beachfront with foodshops. also very few foreigners. just half an hours trip, costs 25 b o/w. you can also stay overnight for under 300b. the bus will have 'bangkok' sign in the window. you can also take a daytrip to koh larn a smallish island near pattaya. regular boat fare is only 20b/person. you can swim there, the water is clean. many boats daily from bali hai pier, end of walking street.
5. miscellaneous information
local transport: at present there are no tuk-tuks in pattaya. public minibuses on the main roads in town charge a flat 5b for locals (see separate posting about minibus scams), theoretically this is the official price. there are also motorcycle taxis on most streetcorners, prices starting at 20b for short trip. always negotiate the fare first. some songthaews can also be chartered by the hour or by the day. small and large motorcycles and cars can be rented all around town.
changing money: the local currency is the thai baht. exchange rate pretty stable around 40baht/$1 us for the past few years. there are innumerable moneychangers in the main tourist areas, 7 days a week. usually no commision for cash but for travellers cheques there is a 33b/cheque fee. many atms also. if you have a six digit code, you would normally use only the first 4 digits here.
information: the tat office on the road to jomtien is quite unhelpful and the location is unconvenient. better are the tourist boots such at the start of walking street, near the beach. there is also a police booth nearby. some phone numbers:

public security: really good. if you stick to the main roads there is nothing to worry about day or night (except for the traffic!) one tip: always carry a photocopy of your passport and immigration card on you. the original and stash of cash etc. belongs to the hotel safe. when you sleep with a girl lock your valuables away. katoeys used to be a problem years ago on the beach but nowadays this seems to have been fixed.
health: mostly it's in your mind. if you have a healthy mind you will have a healthy body (sabai jai, sabai kai - as the thais say). this advice might be better than a list of doctors contacts. food hygiene and sanitation is usually quite good in pattaya and anywhere in thailand. however food can be unbearably spicy for some. you can ask the cook to reduce heat. also the weather is very hot year around. if you are used to a cold climate the first few days can be difficult.
6. language and some definitions
official language is thai. english is also very widely spoken in pattaya. however there still seem to be lots of people who don't speak a word of english. some common terms that you will encounter:
st (short time, 'chua krao') = usually one pop, one or two hours or until you cum
lt (long time, 'tang keun') = overnight stay, usually at least 2 pops
boom-boom = fuck, copulate

7. customs, festivals
there are too many to mention. really, as an occasional tourist you will be forgiven just about anything. however, any subject considering the nation, religion or leaders thererof should be handled with utmost respect and caution. such subjects are best avoided altogether in conversation with thais.
there are two major festivals. one in april the "new year, songkran" and one in october "thanksgiving, loy krathong". both can be especially fun to be present at these times. business is as usual with the girls but travel and accomodation can be difficult.
8. accomodation. ($1=40b approx) catering for all budgets but usually much better value than bangkok. most rooms are in the 600-1200b range but can be as low as 200b/night for a fan room or $200 for a resort. sex tourists are usually welcome in the lower to middle class hotels. not always so in resorts. largest selection of suitable accomodation you will find on beach road soi 7, soi8, lots of rooms on sois of walking street, also many cheap/middle class rooms on soi diana (off 2nd road). in a bar area the noise can be a problem though. the brothels of soi 6 also rent out rooms overnight. then you can say that you lived in a brothel. sounds good but you will see that there are drawbacks and it's not so good after all.
9.food: generally very good value apart from the expensive restaurants on walking street. single dishes start from 40b. even cheaper from hawker stalls on the street. apart from thai cuisine lots of international choices such as italian, german, british, norvegian, etc. these are more expensive than local fare.

10. sex
a word of warning: there are many- many ugly women in the bars. mostly they are mamas with single or multiple childbirths, overflowing bellyfat, saggy tits, etc. it might surprise you at first. if you are into beautiful bargirls then maybe go to the philippines. yes, there are beauties in pattaya but it takes work and luck to find them in the cheaper bars. alternatively if you have a lot of money you can head straight for the premier gogo bars such as superbaby where just about anybody is beautiful.
what happens in a bar (beer-bar or gogo):
you sit down. a waiter/ess comes around and asks what you drink. often they have specials or happy hours so it's worth to ask. your drink comes. your bill is put into a little cup in front of you. when you leave, all your bills will be added up and you pay last. while all this you will be carefully examined and evaluated by the available bargirls. how you look, what you wear? how much money likely you have? how good company you will be? and how good a fashion accessory you will look on their side? based on all this they will select one who will approach you first.
depending on the results of the initial evaluation they could be killing each other to talk with you or they will push out the ugliest, most unpopular girl. even if that happens despair not. best is if you do not show your distaste for her but get into some sort of communication. if they see that you are social and possible to get along with you can request that the girls change and your choice comes to sit with you. nearly invariably the first questions you will hear:

there are many other individual beer bars all over town.
most of the gogo bars are on soi pattayaland and on walking street. a few more rep001tered around town, such as soi2, 7, 8, soi diana and more. the 3 large massage parlours are all near each other in north pattaya.
types of sex venues:
1. beer bar: a central drink wending outfit, usually open-air, with barstools around. low budget operations, usually cheaper girls, wearing normal streetclothes or sometimes uniforms. drinks are cheaper, 40-80b for a beer.
2. gogo bar: always enclosed, featuring schrome poles to assist in wriggling the ass. very basic,sexy outfits worn by dancers. some girls can be very ugly, others totally gorgeous. usually good gogo bars employ beautiful girls, save for a few ugly ones who keep the show going after all the gorgeous ones are barfined. high cost operations, higher drink prices 100-130 a beer.

11. how to save money in pattaya?
most likely you will spend a lot. there is so much to buy. however if tight on budget a few tips might help:
1. cheap food stalls can be found all around the streets. plate of fried rice just 20b. shopping centres of lotus, carrefour and outlet mall have cheap foodcourts with dishes starting 30b. there many shops selling noodle soup for 10-20/bowl, especially on central road. if there is no price displayed, always fix the price first when buying from a street stall.
2. accomodation: it's always worth to shop around. many hotels offer specials in low season. usually the further away from the centre the cheaper the room becomes. long stays get discounts. ask if the room is available without breakfast. might be b100 cheaper.
3. transport: local minibus is b5 for everyone! some drivers demand more but the official price is 5 baht. also if you give 20 baht you might not get any change back. (this is not so much a price issue just annoying).
4. markets: again, the further away from the tourist gettoes, the cheaper the prices for the same product. also, often the department stores such as bigc or carrefour will have the same or better and cheaper too.
5. the girls: sorry to wake you up but no matter how it seems they are not your friends. they are the friends of themselves and their fellow countrymen. they will squeeze every cent out of you and will hand out tips very generously (from your pocket). don't believe it? never mind. it's up to you.
so, have a good stay!

not really. as sooner or later you will realize pattaya is just a catch, a drug to get you hooked to buy more. what you need is a good life. hope, good health, happiness. not just good sex. so, maybe better start looking for that somewhere else. but there maybe one good thing. while women have their own use, eg. cleaning the house, cooking the food, raising the kids, the present general worldwide hysteria about sex and women's power, etc. is getting ridiculous.

I disagree with Alexander about the number of ugly women in Pattaya. I have only been there once, but my experience was there were no more ugly women as a percentage then anywhere else. Please allow me to make a few additions :
On the way to Sattahip you will find Wat Yan, Phoenix Golf Club and Nong Nooch Village.
In the other direction towards Chonburi there is the Khao Kiau Zoo, Tiger Zoo and an aquarium close to Bang Saen.
In Pattaya you will find Mini Siam, Elephant village and a Golf Course, just to name a few.
All make good day trip destinations in case you want to kill some time.
A boat trip to Koh Larn is also a very good choice.
Pattaya offers a large variety of sports like jetski, waterski, para-sailing, golf, badminton, tennis, go-cart and so on. It also has two cinemas (good for rainy days), one at Big C and the other one at Royal Garden Plaza, entrance fee is around 100 baht.
Rayong, Chonbur and Bang Saeni have good massage parlours - Manola and Happy World are my favourite there - besides other venues. Great places to monger but not as obvious as in Pattaya.
Naklua - that's the village directly connected to Pattaya in the north - has some bars, MP's and discos too. Just head to the circle traffic in North Pattaya and move up Naklua Road.
Lady drinks :They are usually more expensive than a normal drink, because the girl gets her share. At bars her share is often only about 10 baht or nothing at all, at gogos around 20-30 per drink.
Barfines : The girls get a share too. At bars between 0-100 baht and at gogos between 150-250. Some gogos also request that the girls must have a certain amount of barfines and/or drinks per month to get full payment.
There are of course many more topics that should be mentioned in context to an overview about Pattaya and it's surrounding but I currently can't think of any that were missed out by you.

I guess Alexander's reference to ugly girls has to be seen in context with the amount of time he had spend in LOS. I assume he had been there quite a few times.
When I came to Thailand the first time about 5-10% of the girls looked good to me, mainly because they were exotic or just different from Europeans.
But nowadays, after over 20yrs, their looks are quite common to me, nothing special anymore. Only one out of a thousand might catch my eye and more than once I picked a girl just for her attitude instead of her looks, which isn't the worst anybody can do, but my priority are still beautiful faces besides a nice body of course.
In short : You got picky after some time.
It's also a matter of fact that the nutrtion had changed over the past decades. About 15-20yrs ago you couldn't hardly find any chubby gogo girl or bargirl, but McDonalds, Burger King, Dunkin Donuts and the like have taken their toll.
