Talk about timely! I just arrived in Pattaya and turned to this forum for some answers to my questions. Alexander's observations were just what I needed.

It's true that there are a great number of ugly girls. Over the years, as I've mongered more, I guess I have developed higher expectations for the quality of the face. Hot bodies are a dime a dozen here, but the faces can often make me feel sick.

Feeling that quality was something that was going to be an issue in the Go-Go's and bars around my hotel, I headed up to North Pattaya to check out the massage shops. Having been quoted insane 2500 Bahts in Bangkok, I was relieved to have 1600 Baht soapy massage options here. The first place I went to was lacking in the babe department, although probably a dozen or so that members of this board would cream themselves over. As I said, I'm getting fussy. So I headed to the next one along, opposite KFC called Sawadee Inn or some such thing. I walked along the glass and immediately saw a girl with curly hair and a pretty face, who posessed the dark skin that really does it for me. Her name was One and we went up and had a hot session together. I got two pictures out of her by promising a tip, however I really wanted some more. She said "you put on internet". I gasped in mock horror "oh of course not" but she wasn't stupid. She was great as she slid up and down me, she was about a 7 in the sack and towards the end declined to a 6 when she started on about finishing quickly. Actually, I think it was painful for her, maybe my size, but definitely the lubrication she was using. I reached over to grab it and found that it was Johnson's Baby Oil, a definite no-no for me. It was either choose the ugly girls from the bars or another massage. I tried Walking Street and right up the end was a series of bars overlooking the water. I made the newbie mistake of first posting this to the Photo Gallery thread. Got distracted by the photos. Luckily I got away without getting flamed. Now making the post in the proper place.

I'm probably heading to Pattaya later this year. I had a question about how the discos/nightclubs are these days. I had a good time and some pretty good luck in meeting good freelancers and even a couple of non-pros at Xzyte, Tony's and Palladium a couple of years ago. One very hot girl who worked at a convenience store fucked me after a couple of dinners.

How are things at these or other clubs these days? Anyone had any good experiences recently at the places above, or Lucifers, Hollywood, Marine?

A word of warning: There are many- many ugly women in the bars. Mostly they are mamas with single or multiple childbirths, overflowing bellyfat, saggy tits, etc. It might surprise you at first. What happens in a bar (beer-bar or gogo):

You sit down. A waiter/ess comes around and asks what you drink. Often they have specials or happy hours so it's worth to ask. Your drink comes. Your bill is put into a little cup in front of you. When you leave, all your bills will be added up and you pay last. While all this you will be carefully examined and evaluated by the available bargirls. How you look, what you wear? How much money likely you have? How good company you will be? And how good a fashion accessory you will look on their side? Based on all this they will select one who will approach you first.

Depending on the results of the initial evaluation they could be killing each other to talk with you or they will push out the ugliest, most unpopular girl. Even if that happens despair not. Best is if you do not show your distaste for her but get into some sort of communication. If they see that you are social and possible to get along with you can request that the girls change and your choice comes to sit with you. IMO I think Alexander's descriptions of Pattaya are pretty accurate. His "voice" is a refreshing accurate portrayal of the way things are, for some of us less genetically fortunate anyway.

Unfortunately, what he has to say gets lost in the sea of fantasy posts in this forum.

Other posts portray Pattaya as a utopia where ANY man can come regardless of age and looks and screw an endless supply of beautiful young women. A place where ALL men will be treated like kings!

Of course there was also that one lonely voice of Alexander who protested how the bulk of Pattaya women were ugly as sin and how the pretty ones had sour stuck up western attitudes. But surely I thought, how can this guy be right when every other post was telling such a different tale?!

Well I went to Pattaya and what did I find?

A sea of UGLY bar-girls and pretty ones completely ignoring anyone over 40 or not handsome! My smiles were met with nothing but frowns! Same same in the Go-Go's. Prettier girls; but they wanted nothing to do with this unattractive farang! WTF!!!

ALL my bar-fines turned out to be Starfishes to boot!

Oh sure the girls out numbered men 100 to 1, the UGLY girls! The guys out number the pretty ones 1000 to 1.

Marine has probably seen it's best days.

Hollywood is pretty much for Thais. Some farang may feel uncomfortable with this. Locals were fine with me in there.

Can't go wrong with Lucifer's. Decent DJs (mainstream), decent live band and lots of girls - many of whom have paid bar for themselves to look for a customer. Last time I was in there it was still pumpin' at 2.30AM when I left. Management are obviously keeping the police pension fund well topped-up. I wasn't too impressed the last time that I stopped by Marine's about 2 years ago, but it still seems to come up in posts so I was wondering if had got any better--apparently not.

Also, glad to hear that some places are still open past 1am. Last time that I was in Pattaya, it seemed that there were quite a few places to beat the 1am shut down time. Soi 8 just turned off the lights and everyone kept drinking.

Some locals also took me to an out of the way dinner/bar type of place called Beer Hima. They had the lights out but served beer until morning. I believe that the police stopped by at one point, but received some money and left.

I'm not quite sure what to expect this time on finding a late night place or a late night place, but information is appreciated.

I dont understand the posters who complain about ugly girls in Pattaya. Not every girl there is a stunner, most were average looking. How could it be otherwise? You cant have everyone being above average. When I was there the girls I spent time with were friendly and attractive enough though.

I am over 40 and of average looks and I had a fine time in Pattaya. It is ridiculous to think that you will be treated like a king with a woman you just met and are spending 1000 baht on. If you want to be treated like a king, spend like a king. If you want to be treated like a movie star, have movie star looks and spend like a movie star. If you have neither money nor looks you will be treated well enough and have a lot of fun for the money you do spend.

Sorry to hear you had a bad time in Pattaya. Sure there are the good, the ugly and bad. I have to put myself in a similar category (oh, close to anyway). I am older than 40, overweight and not even a farang. There are two things you must have to get the average and the pretty ones. You must have a positive attitude and money. Not to overpay, but buying a round drinks for all the girls, for example.

Sure, movie star looks will get you a flock around you, but then all of us are not blessed that way. So you play witha positive attitude. Make the ugly ones also feel good. Who said that you have to barfine them.

But the pretty ones usually end up as starfish anyway. And the ugly ones gives the best P4P. You want have a good fuck, so why not get the ones who will service you the best. It's not as if you are going to marry them, are you?

So go again and have a good time. A good attitude will get you far.

I just get back from Pattaya last month from my 1st trip there. I actually got lots of great sex from more plain looking girls. I have around 5 girls from beer bars, 2 from massage places, and 1 from gogo. I was attracted to the look in the first 3 days. Had a girl in the Sabaidee Land massage parlor and met her again after she finished work at 2 am. Young and pretty, but just lacked some flare. Had her LT and paid 1500B. I agree with the other posters, but I think the thing that everyone of forgeting is that spending all the money in the world, smiling like a lunatic will not make a girl interested in you.

I am 22 and rather unattractive and I found that chosing the hot girl never worked, I always found it better to be "chosen". Some still starfished on me but 70% of the time it worked and most were pretty attractive (I think so at least)

Am a rather short, stout person. Someone who will be called "Pumbui" by the chicks. And I don't care. I know it's my wallet they want.

Pattaya felt rather trashy. I went there with no real high expectations and was rewarded with "dude, when I am right I am right" ;) The entire beach-walk was full of ladies trolling for customers. Some were real foxes, some were skanks.

The bars on soi5/6 was crowded with ladies: Not that many customers. Felt like a great ratio (5-10 chick on each randy mongrel). The entire Pattaya felt like a brothel but that's why I was there. Tried to expand my horizon there and
* Oil Massage (hotel near bech soi8); 40 yo+, nice massage, great fuck. Some skills there. Really worked her "butt off" to make me feel special.
* Some bargirls on soi7. 28yo and a 25yo were starfishes.
* Bargirl on Soi7. 20 yo.. Tried but wasn't in to it.
* Soapy. Several and they worked for their money. 20-30 yo's.

Next time, I'll only be on the lookout for the young and greedy and the oldier and skillful. No more 25-35 yo age spann in Pattaya. In BKK that's ok.

I’ve noted a lot of the “ugly girls” discussion here of late. Since this is a forum, which is mostly frequented by western men, I’ll make a statement. Asian women are an acquired taste.

I’ve been going to Pattaya for quite sometime and in my opinion the women are pretty nice looking, and that’s just what it is “my opinion”. What’s a babe to one is an ugly duckling to another.

For those who continue to state that the women in Thailand (Pattaya in particular) are ugly, I make the following suggestions:

1. Stay home, whine at home!

2. Get yourself a good online porn site with women you do think are nice and masturbate to your hearts content.

attitude is the key. OTH mentioned other circumstances that play a role but attitude is the most important of all. Be entertaining, funny and polite - not necessarily acting as an ever smiling fool - and you won't have probs to score nice girls.

Also keep in mind that girls who do not respond should be avoided. They won't be fun back home and act as your described starfish.

You probably had very high expectations, but there is no way to "buy" a good time. Sure, the girls will fuck you for money but the rest is sympathy.

If you had probs with each and every "good looking" girl then the reason might be you and I am not talking about looks and money. I have seen many unattractive guys with good looking girls (and I have high standards) but they seemed to treat the girls nice and were rewarded for doing so.

BTW, what is your "standard approach" ? Are you desperate to get a stunner ? If so the girls might sense it and act accordingly.

speaking Thai is of great help with regulars and non P4P.. Also P4P new to the biz appreciate if they can communicate but some gogo girls and bar girls don't like you to be able to speak Thai.

Speaking Thai means that you know the prices and the scams and I have met a few girls who refused to come with me when I approached them in Thai, which is fine for me because I don't want to take a girl who wants to cheat me. I prefer those who like that I can speak Thai and respond. Always had a great time with them.

If I really want a specific girl I just don't let her know that I can speak Thai. Very interesting and funny too, because they will talk about you with their friends.

Pattaya or Phuket, or maybe even Bangkok? I want to do both mongering and other things.

Hi all. Been reading the forum for a long time now and it's provided a lot of useful info. Just wondering what your opinion is. Is it best to head to Phuket or Pattaya at this time (next week)? I've been to Phuket in the past but that was before the events of last December. It was great then but now I'm reading mixed reports. Never been to Pattaya. Either way I'd like to avoid an area if the military's in town.

Last time I was in Bkk (Jan/Feb of 2005) I saw a guy walking down Soi Nana with a great looking bar girl.

This guy was in his 50s I would guess, he was obviously a stroke victim, had the drooping facial features on one side and semi-paralysis that made walking down the street a big time effort.

The girl was hanging on the guy's arm like she had something special and she probably did. This guy wasn't turning any heads in the states for sure (I am reasonably sure he was an American) but he had a fine looking bar-girl in BKK.
Obviously he was spending money for her companionship, but she was fine and she was with him.

My own experience also doesn't correspond to your statements about Thai women.
Your statement that if you aren't attractive to women in your home country you won't be attractive to Thai women isn't true.

Pure and simple, many men find that this is not true, hence Thailand's popularity with western men.

You imply you don't do well with women in your home country, but you find most of the women in Thailand unattractive?

Consider yourself, beauty is skin deep, but sometimes ugliness comes from deep inside.

The official minibus fares story - as I know it:

There seems to be so much confusion about official minibus fares in Pattaya that it is maybe time to clear it up.

The difference in money is really negligible, however what may matter to some is that the drivers are at present legally scam the public and this is not a good precedent. It amounts to a kind of anarchy and lawlesness. Where will it all lead to? If it is tolerated on the small scale soon you may be paying 20B a trip or more just for being a foreigner!

If you rely on tourist brochures, most of them will inform you that the normal fare within town is 10 B/person. However not all say so! There is at least one tourist oriented publication that states the fare to be 5 B (it is the large format one, can't remember the name).

If you ask any Thai person they will honestly state it that the fare is 5B for Thai and 10B for foreigner within the Central/South Pattaya area. However this is NOT official, but rather a matter of custom. In fact very seldom I do find a (unpatriotic) Thai or two who tell me not to pay 10 B but only 5 as they do.

As you may have observed there is a printed notice in most cars that looks like a fare schedule. It's sort of a set of three little stairs. One for Naklua, one for Pattaya and one for Jomtien. However it's all in Thai language.

During the short two minute rides in the shaking cab I have trouble exactly deciphering the text, especially because it refers to some landmarks such as "this intersection to that Wat, etc..." some of which are unknown to me.

However one thing is clear (very simple text): the ride between North Pattaya and South Pattaya is 5B/person. That means at least from Big C to Walking Street for 5B fare. Full stop.

To get the complete story with all the stops and fares I would need a copy of the Thai fare schedule that I would translate into English at my leisure. If someone could take at least a close photo and post it here or PM it to me would be helpful. Then we could start affixing the English versions to all cars as we travel.

If you have ever visited other Thai cities you would have noticed the printed, stamped documents signed by the mayor of the town in each cab. It sets out the fares without any misunderstanding. For example:

Udon Thani 6B/ride (any distance)
Ubon Rachatani 7B/ride
Chiang May 10B/ride
Lampang 13B/ride
Phitsanulok 5B/ride
Rayong 8B/ride

This document does not seem to exist in Pattaya. I suspect that purposefully so.

To further clarify the issue I got the number from the tourist info office and telephoned the Pattaya Minibus Cooperative who operate all the local public buses (songthaews). For my first question about the fares the routine answer was:10B. However I pointed out that I read the fare schedule and it seems to say the fare is 5B/person between North and South Pattaya (irrespective of nationality of passenger) so what is the REAL fare? Is it 5B for everyone?

The answer was a hesitant "chai kruhp, ha baht" (yes, 5baht). I do not speak well on the phone however am pretty sure that got this conversation right. If you want to give it a go, their number is: 038-423-554.

So, usually during daytime I pay 5 B (between Big C and Walking Street) without major troubles. At night more drivers seem to groan and argue. If I go home with a **** then inevitably they will want to charge me 10B but the **** usually goes for 5B. Sometimes I just pay 10B for the both of us and quikly walk away.

However I noticed that when I try to wave down a car and the driver recognises me sometimes he just drives past, refusing to stop. You may get that if you keep paying the local price.

The real solution would be to officially clarify the issue and get a proper signed, stamped document in every car in Thai AND English language. You could try to lobbying at the TAT or similar office.

For as long as I can remember it has often been the subject of readers letters in the Pattaya Mail and other publications. True some tourist booklets publish the fare as five baht whilst others publish it as ten baht.

From the information I can find out I agree that the price is Five Baht and this is the price regardless of colour, creed, nationality or religion (buddhist monks travel free).
But this is Thailand, the land of scams and where bribery and corruption start at the highest level so the poor songtauew driver is just following his leaders when he demands ten baht from us farangs.

For myself, I am still reasonably fit and so if I am just going along Beach road I normally walk.

For a long time I insisted in only paying 5 baht and endured the bad language and attitude of the drivers, now I have mellowed more and for a quieter life, if I have to resort to songtauews to travel in, I cough up ten baht.

Your point is well taken. And in principle you are absolutely right. But what difference does it makes for us farangs to pay an extra 5 bahts. We don't mind paying an extra 100 baht tip to the BGs, yet some of us are up in arms over a measly 5 baht. How many times during your stay do you use the baht bus, anyway. For them the extra 5 means a little bit more to take home to their families and may be make a difference in their measly life.

Go easy, big guy. 5 baht isn't going to make a difference to you. And if it does, what are you hunting for poon in Pattaya anyway.

To those who find the Pattaya 5-baht scam outrageous, I would advise never to go to Samui. Over there, there is no baht bus, only songthaews that charge variable amounts of money, and so called "Taxi-Meter" that have no meter and charge minimum 100 baht per ride!

Thanks for the explanation. I kinda figured it was just a girl who lays there and does nothing. As for the baht buses, I have been to Pattaya 3 times and have never minded paying 10 for a ride. I mean, the extra 5 baht means so little to me. A home, I may [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) away $50-$100 a night for oridinary entertainment. How many 5 bahts is that? I think it is about 400-800 five baht coins. So I don't let it get to me. Anyway, just my 2 cents, can't wait to get back to LOS. I was there this Feb, any changes since then?

As I understand it all baht Busses are supposed to display a notice that states the fares chargeable, this is a red sign printed in English on adhesive vinyl about A5 size with a matrix detailing the charter fares.

It clearly states the maximum fare to be 10Baht unless the bus is chartered then the driver can charge based on the matrix, if the bus is chartered ie you ask him to take you direct to your hotel which may not be on any bus route, always agree a price first if the driver asks for to much try haggling else wave him on and try the next bus.

When chartering a bus check it is empty first, the driver should take you direct to your destination without even attempting to pick up any fares.

As I read it any baht bus driver is entitled to 10 Baht regardless of distance (100yards or Jomtien to Nacula), the problem is that many Thai people can not afford 10 Baht so the 5 Baht is discretionary and I have seen Baht Bus drivers ask Thais for the full fare.

As I see it the problem is there are far too many baht busses running around empty, many of them ignore the indigenous populous in favour of premium fares, thus causing a nuisance and major hazard, for example, try crossing 2nd road, find a zebra crossing, no parked cars and wait for a break in the traffic, then you get a number of busses stopping, reversing back to you, honking on there horns etc, causing the traffic to slowdown and then you get no breaks in the traffic, or just walking you get this constant harassment from nearly every bus that passes.

Many years ago it was planed to put up official bus stops, what happened to them? IMHO the problem could be elevated by restricting the number baht busses by restricting drivers hours and taking of the roads any bus that dose not meet up to basic safety standards, ie jagged/sharp metal, loose seats, corroded frame work, loose steps, poor breaks, non functioning bells, faulty exhausts, emitting excess fumes etc.

To take half the baht busses off the road does make scenes because there will still be as many fares so:

• Drivers will still make the same by working half the hours.
• Drivers could share the serviceable (safe) busses.
• Fewer empty busses so less traffic, less pollution, less burden on the states petroleum reserves.
• Ban/lock-up the crock/scammers so there will be even more for the honest drivers.

But there again who dose run the busses, City Hall or the Baht Buss Mafia?

If y'all would read the news every now and then, you would know that a new all aircon busservice for Pattaya is about to start. B30 for the entire distance of each route. Just have a look at the length of the routes and think:
Hmm, aircon, many miles - B30.

I've been going to Pattaya for over 8 yr/ I always paid 10 baht and 20 baht from
bus station to Beach rd. We are only talking about a 25 cents in USA money. This
is a not a big deal and have seen local paid only 5 baht. Gas has gone up so much the last 8 yr, I am suprise they have not rise the price.

It is also noticeable during the busier season that these busses do not stop for the locals. On more than one occasion I have seen ladies trying to stop a Baht bus with no avail. I have gone to stand close to them and as they wave at the next baht bus it stops, as they get on the bus I just walk away. Upsets the drive3rs but the lasses are pleased.

Hey all..

Just back from Thailand and happy to report the girls are as hot as ever.

First time to Pattaya and it's a fucking crazy place - unbelievable amount of sex to be had. I normally hang in BKK and pick up a chick there but this time I went south to play a little golf.

Driver took me to a place called Sabai? Something or other. 'massage-parlor' that charges a bit more than other local places but from what I could tell, had a much better selection of hot chicks.

Asking price was 2,000bht for a 1.5 hours but finally settled on 1,400. Seemed a bit steep but the girl was hot and my dick was hard. Crazy ass body-on-body bath then popped her twice. Best part is we got along and her English was decent... gave her my number and after her shift she called my cell. A few mins later she was on taking some throat yogurt in my hotel room. Fucked her again then we fell asleep. Showered together in the morning where again she gave me head. Down to breakfast then back to my room for a final fuck before she had to go to work. Couldn't force her to take any more money no matter how I tried. I'd say that was the best 1,400bht I've ever spent. =)

Wanted to take her back to BKK the following day but realized that was stupid considering how much great pussy is to be had in Bangkok! More on that later.

Please excuse me posting this in two forums but it's a bit urgent I find an answer.

Gentlemen - I am mid travel in Asia already and am only now realizing I may have a problem but I can not get a definitive answer from anyone. I expect to arrive in Thailand next week but have discovered in one country already that due to my passport expiring in Jan 06 (which makes it valid less than six months) I was almost refused entry.

In searching various web sites including official Thai gov site, the closest answer I can locate is that it is "recommended that it be valid for not less than 6 months". But it does not say required. I'm worried about ending up not being allowed entry on a technicality.

It's a US passport so normally I am allowed up to 30 days no VISA required. But when I read the info on VISA requirments for non exempt countries, it clearly states that for a VISA a passport must be valid more than 6 months.

I'm confused and worried. The Thai Embassy where I am hasn't been able to give me a definitive answer either... Can anyone out there help me with this question? And if they require 6 month valid passport even for exempt country passports then would there be a way around it?

One additional question - I notice below that Mimonger says he's heard of instability in the South. Hopefully he doesn't mean Pattaya or the land between from Don Muan. Is there anything for a whitebread American to be worried about in Thailand at this moment?

It has been said that regarding Pattaya you either love it or hate it, at the moment for me it is the latter, which is pretty unfortunate as I am scheduled to spend three months here. The reason is because of the massive number of road works along Beach road, what used to be a lovely stroll along the beach from North Pattaya to Walking St is now an obstacle course. The reason for all this work is that they are transferring all the overhead cables that hang like knitting along the street to underground. I just hope that I am not in country when the big switch over comes, guess then for a few days, weeks even months the cable TVs, telephones and lights will be even more unreliable than they are now.

Pattaya has also been extremely busy with tourist, I am amazed at the number of Eastern Europeans who are here, I expected a greater number due to the Tsunami in the Phuket area but it has been wall to wall people, admittedly over the last few days it has thinned out a bit. Mind you now is the time for all the Chinese to visit for their New Year celebrations which are in full swing. They do not make much impact on the bar scene a they just follow their tour leader who escorts them to one Go Go bar, one bar for a drink and then off to the local beauty shops and spas for massage and finally the Souvenir shopping. Sometimes groups go into the Sabai Dee Massage parlour.

I don't intend to bore you all with my everyday encounters here in Pattaya, I think most of you would have an idea of how that goes I will just relate some of the stories.

Being a regular visitor it is amazing how these girls seem to remember your name as soon as you arrive. One such lady with whom I had visited several times over the past three years caught me almost on my first day here. I was disappointed when on paying her she asked for more money, well I paid it, and then informed her that this was not the usual amount I paid, to which she replied that she could not remember, anyway I then pointed out that this was the beginning of my extended stay and as I liked her I had intended to visit her many times during the next 3 months, because of her greed she had now kissed a lot of baht goodbye. She then tried to give me some money back, which of course I refused, I see this lady regularly in the bar and whenever she comes on to me I tell her she is too expensive, quietly of course so she does not lose face. However she is very good and I am sure that very shortly I will relent and visit her again, but of course it will be at the old price.

Apart from that I have had my fair share of good, mediocre and starfish experiences. My last one was yesterday with a very pretty girl that I picked up Mid dayish from Beach Road, she assured me she was 25 but certainly looked younger about 20 I would have thought, anyway she was very attractive and so we went for a short time, once in the room and after the obligatory shower she adopted the 'starfish' position and that was it. A lovely girl shame about the action maybe she was new to the game although her English was fair and when I asked shere she learnt it she said by talking to farangs.

I thought that in addition to my normal activities I would spend some of my time improving my Thai language skills. Although reasonably adept at speaking and understanding spoken Thai I have never been able to read a word, so signed on for a month’s course, just one hour a day, to study the language in more depth. I did find it very interesting and will in all probability continue further during my next visit. The more interesting part of this episode is the meeting up of very nice Thai lady teachers. My teacher Miss M was a very attractive 30 year old and we got on smashingly, her best friend Miss P was a bit younger and seemed to always be pleased to see me and always had a winning smile and warm greeting. To cut a long story short I did end up taking both of these teachers out to dinner one evening (to further my Thai language education obviously) and one thing leading to another I had further dates to both cinema and dinner with Miss P. This does prove that you can find nice non bar girl ladies who are willing to date farangs and at the time I was not looking. We keep in touch my e-mail so maybe during my next visit things may get even better.

Just for a break from the hurdy gurdy atmosphere of Pattaya I decided to spend a few days on the quieter resort of Hua Hin. Decided to go via bus and train, it was two hours on the bus from Pattaya to Ekami, sky train and MRT to Hua Lampong railway station and then 4 hours on the train to Hua Hin. An interesting journey so long as you are in no hurry and on the train met lots of local Thais who were more than willing to chat away and share their food with you. I stayed in a very comfortable hotel in the centre of Hua Hin Bht 1500 per night. My impression of Hua Hin is that it is very quiet, being used to the more open spaces of Pattaya the narrow streets of Hua Hin were more claustrophobic and seemed to be much hotter. The restaurants on the whole were very international with European cuisine being predominant, the night market was like all markets in Thailand and one could enjoy some very good Thai food form the local stalls. Of course the main attraction of Hua Hin is its’ beach, which is superb, long and wide with lovely sands and rolling surf, if you are a beach playboy then it will suit you to the ground. For the sort of entertainment that most people on this board seek there are a couple of streets that house the typical farang bar and the ‘Hello Handsum man’ ladies. One of these is I think aptly named Soi Bintaban.

Returning to Pattaya I thought that as I hadn’t indulged for a year or so that I would treat myself to an oil massage. The one I chose was Beach Road end of Soi 6 (I think it is called Mission). It was very nice, the welcome was very friendly, the parlour cool and well lit, the mattresses nice and comfortable and the towels very clean. My masseuse had very nimble fingers and soon had me in a state of arousal, which I am sure was her intention, anyway once turned over my predicament was obvious and made even worse by her accidental contact with he arms, hand, fingers etc. In the end, smiling sweetly she asked if I would like her to relieve the tension and massage my throbbing member. By this time I didn’t give a damn, and sure enough with nimble fingers and soft touches the hard kinks were softened. The total cost Baht 300, plus I gave a tip to the lady. The down side to this was that the showers were not working so I could not take a shower afterwards, she did however remove most of the surplus oil with towels.

Of course it never rains unless in pours and Pattaya is no exception so a few days later as the heavens were about to open I found myself outside another massage parlour, called Honey on soi 11 off Second road. Purely to get out of the rain I ventured in, this parlour was not nearly as nice, the place was lit very dimly, mattress was hard and uncomfortable, I had to ask for the aircon to be put on and the towels felt damp. The procedure was much the as previously describe apart from the offer to relieve my masculine urge for which I was requested to pay the extra sum of Baht 500. That statement alone caused my eagerness to subside and as a result I declined, the price did come down but by then I wasn’t really bothered. This parlour did however have a nice shower to conclude the massage and as the rain had now stopped I paid the bill of Baht 250, No tip and left.

On the Friday, as I was leaving on the Sunday, I decided to go and have my last short time, and took a walk down Beach Road, I wasn’t really bothered too much as unlike some of you younger studs who managed 2 to 3 time per day I struggle with 2 to 3 times a week and had already achieved my quota but as it was my last time why not? My experiences with the young girls off the street (I only go there during the daytime so I can see what I am getting) were not all that good but I picked up N and away we went, Wow!!!!! Jackpot time, it was tremendous, why is it that you find a doll just as you a leaving. Anyway the following day Saturday I went looking again, could not find her, then as I entered Royal Garden Plaza heard my name being called and there was N on her motorbike. Asking where I was going I replied that I was looking for her. Climbing behind her on the bike she took me to her own flat, a very nice place just off Second Road and that is where I spent my last day in Pattaya, in fact I left her in the early hours of the morning (very unusual for me to go long time) and left myself barely time to pack and catch the taxi to the airport. Needless to say the journey home passed very quickly as I was so knackered I slept most of the time. N’s story was also different from the average, firstly she was a Bangkokian not Issan, had a Bachelor degree in finance and used to have her own condo and car and worked in the stock exchange. She gambled on the stock exchange, lost not only her money but her employers’ also and was now working to pay it all back and to save money for a new start in a different career. Don’t know whether to believe that story, but she definitely was educated and the apartment she had in Pattaya was equivalent to any 4 star hotel.

So it ends, now back in UK with my memories and just envious of all you other guys about to visit, I will have to console myself with the fact that Winter is not really that far away and once again I will be enjoying the pleasures of LOS.

I returned from Pattaya last Sunday after a short break of 18 nights.

Although the main purpose of my visit was to play a few rounds of golf, you have to take part of the other things on offer.

I met up with a girl I originally met on my last trip in January, she was still as nice as I remembered her and it was nice to see her.

She assured me she had not been with another farang since I had left, although she had been working as a maid and as a service girl in a few different bars and go-go's. I did actually believe her.

She understood my carnal needs, so when she wasn't up for a bit of 'boom boom' she let me monger about and have a ST at the hotel. She had one exception to the rule if I had a LT, while she stayed in her room, I was not allowed to take the lady to breakfast in the morning in the hotel. I think this was a small price to pay ?

A very unusaul occurence at the hotel, after taking my beauty back to the hotel for 2-3 days/nights I wasn't their one early evening, as I was returning from golf, I caled her to ask how she was and the hotel had actually given her the key to my room. We didn't have an understanding about this.

I had to explain to her I actually had no problem with her being in the room without me being their, but in future cases she should call first in case I fancied an 'afternoon delight' or a 'morning glory' on none golf days. She understood the potential for embarassment and said she would do so in the future. Problem solved.

On one of my free evenings, as my regular had gone back to her village, I visited the 'Buffalo Bar' on 3rd Road. I have visited this venue on each of my last three visits, each time with no luck, ranging from one hostess who was looking for a fight with another to, a lovely young lady who could not speak a word of english.

I fell on my feet this time a lovely lady came up asked if she could sit down and started the normal, 'what your name...', where you from...' scenario. After the opening gambit I thought I would strike while the iron was hot and obviously luck was shining upon me on this visit. I payed the reasonable BF and ventured back to the hotel in Naklua.

She was gorgeous and did everthing very well. I explained the 'other' lady in her village but she understood. She left her number and asked if she could see me again. 1.bus from Ekamai bus station (you can go there by sky train; get off at Ekamai staion). Bus leave every 20 minutes; ticket is 99 baht.
2.taxi from everywhere: fare start from 1000/1200 baht up to 1500. It depends from the driver and from the area where you are.

I am not too sure about prices skyrocketing in the places I go. Bar fines in AC have gone up about $3-5 in the past year and the asking price in a couple of Pattaya go-go bars has increased. There is more change in prices due to currency fluctuations in the places I frequent.

North American prices are insane and the quality is so low compared to what is on offer in Asia - just about anywhere you go in the region should seem like a great deal compared to the frozen tundra.

Mr Chans was about half that. It is in the same building but at the end. It is an art gallery also. The mattress there was terrible. I enjoyed my stay there though and would go back again if money was tight. Let me know if you want contact details.

Xmas in Thailand is pretty much like any other day. It is a predominantly Buddhist country so they really don't care about Uncle Santa. Sure there are some places where there are lighted xmas trees, but on the whole it is pretty much a subdued affair.

It is the same pretty much in all non-christian countries.

So if you are travelling to Pattaya to celebrate, just take the girls out.

What you should realise it that it is a big holiday season in Thailand. Usualy the week around Christmas and then a week around New Year all the Thais are on the move. It's as bad as France in August, if that means anything to you.
Many, many, many Thais travel to Pattaya - they think it's a shopping destination!
But they do fill up hotel rooms. From the bottom up, but eventually the kind of room where the majority of tourists like to stay in, are full too.
That's why you should try to book a room during the Christmas - New Year period and do it well in advance.
If you need to fly domestic get on-line and buy a ticket.
Better yet, try to plan your trip in such a way that you don't have to travel during that time.

basically in Thailand ucking the ass is not so easy but not impossible.
In my experience I'd say that about 20% of the girls are available to be fucked up the ass.
In Pattaya I suggest you to go to the infamous soi 5 where many girls will be happy to give you what you want.
About the price: in soi 5 short time in rooms upstairs is 500 baht plus 250 for the room/bar. I think that 1000 baht is more than ok for an anal adventure.

Although I do not venture to this place any longer. When I did a few years back I did my ass pounding at the King Kong Bar, I believe it is on Soi 6, in Central Pattaya. Took car service from Bangkok with my friend costing 1400 baht total. Nice pleasant trip. Checked into Sunshine beach hotel. Hotel needs lot of fixing. They charge 500 baht to bring companion.
Took a walk along 2nd road. Lots of bars. Had few beers in many bars. As for the girls they seem much older and not at all good looking. My friend found a haf way decent girl for 1500 long time. Afterwards we all hit many bars on Soi 8. Same situation. Hardly anybody good looking. After getting drunk looking for a girl settled on I would say 5 on her best day. Back to the hotel,girl says she has upset stomach and diahorea . Lost all interest and so so job and slept.

Well ,me and my friend took a car from BKK to Pattaya. Cost 1400 baht. Stayed at Sunshine beach hotel on Pattaya 2 road. Not a good hotel. The rooms sucked big time.

My introduction to Pattaya was terrific. I shared a ride with The Traveler from Bangkok and I think it took us about an hour and forty minutes to get there. I've been to Pattaya about 7 or 8 times and I've witnessed 3 assaults but I don't think the motive was ever robbery. All 3 times the assaultor was a Thai man in his 20's or 30's. One of those times it was against a (very drunk) farang man and he was beating him on the head with a wooden club. this happened in the middle of beach road around midnite. Another time a guy was slapping a sw on beach road. The 3rd guy was beating another Thai man with a folding metal chair in front of one of the bars on a side soi. The word Mamansan always used to connote a vision of an older grubby woman with a grizzly voice who always want to get men to spend lots of money on her girls, that was until this past weekend after visiting Beach Club, Shark Club (#2) and Naughty Girls. The most dangerous zone in Pattaya is Jomtien at night expecially the street going to Big Buddah/Royal Cliff, DO NOT TAKE THAT STREET ALONE OR WITH A GIRL AFTER 01.00 am.expecially if you're driving a bike.Anyway this is my personal list concerning the most dangerous area in Pattaya in terms of bag/gold snatchers :

Years before only small petty crimes against foriegners but recent years violent attacks in Pattaya and Bangkok are so often now, and many times deadly. If you off guard somewhat, you are very likely to get victimized. Watch behind your back when at ATM machines at night.

Walking in the dark soi of Pattaya is quite dangerous now. They are probably lots of unreported robbing or purse snatching, since reporting to Thai police is absolute waste of time. But Soi 6 is quite crowded even late at night. These robbers are getting more daring as well.

Also be careful all kinds of scam on the street. Now many deaf people in front of the Royal Garden Shopping will make you sign some donation book and pin your shirt without consent, then demand 500 to 2000 from you. They will surround you until you pay. Ignore them, don't even pay attention to them. I was there a few days ago and witnessed they surrounded a poor German couple because the old couple were nice and looked vulnerable. The deafs pin something on their shirts and demanded 2000 for donation. The couple was surrounded by many deafs and got scared and paid them in a hurry.

And watch out for these street girls as well. They may steal things from your room. Don't shower alone, or keep your valuable in the safes.

As to Thais putting things on me - there is a limit to my patience - I could (and have) take off or hand back what they hand me and walk away - what i don't like is the tailors bugging me all the time - I just SNARL "Mai ow, krap" and keep going - after a couple of times thru the "krap" even disappears and they get the message.

IF someone gets in a bind, ALWAYS ask for the tourist police (not the "regular" police - ever). They tend to sort things out quickly -and believe it or not actually have little patience for scams. DON'T sign anything - ever. And don't bother with the "where are you from?" accosters - they want to sell condos I think - never bothered with them anyway.

And the advice about ATMs at night is correct - just do it during the day - is immensely safer. Wear a neck wallet or a STRONG belly bag - I use a "pack safe" myself - kevlar and steel cables - try to cut that, "khon".

I admit to actively trying to avoid being the "ugly American" - but have found less "issues" upcountry - Pattaya being a "resort area" is a particular "location" with associated problems. Oh - and if you can speak even a little Thai, it minimizes many of those "issues".

Last night walked down Beach Rd. and strolled through different parts of Pattaya like Second Rd, Third Rd, Soi Buakoaw, Soi 17 and more from 1am to 3:30am. I never felt unsafe or have been approached by anybody besides a few Katoeys at Beach Rd. and Soi Pattayaland which were easy to get rid off.

Lots of police in Walking Street last night. They closed Lucifers at 1am straight. Maybe there was a fight inside, don't know.

As long as you don't act like a moron and show off you should be safe.
Most streets like Beach Rd. are still pretty busy till 3am, so no need to worry.

Violent crimes happen on random basis not on the night you are conscious and aware of it. Usually when you are be aware of it, it won't happen. When you have absolute no conscous of it, it may strike. Thailand is getting more dangerous past few years is a very fact. Be aware is better.

A quick report. Just a couple of years ago, I did quite well at scoring non-pros at Pattaya discos, Tony's (I don't know how I found a non-pro there, but did), Xzyte, and Palladium. Met some Palladium house dancers on a weeknight since it wasn't busy and I had a few bottles open--actually it was the staff that was kind enough to make the introductions.

This time during my two nights in Pattaya I went to Xzyte and Palace (which used to be the Palladium), which are mixed farang and Thai places. I also checked out the Thai places on 3rd Street, Blue Chili, Bitchy Pub, and the Cottage. The Thai places are all close together so they are easy to visit one after another.

I'm sad to report that this time I did not score this time. Most of the girls were in groups with men. The Thai places on 3rd St. were already totally packed on Saturday night when I stopped by. You could barely make your way through the crowd and it just didn't seem to be the place for a lone farang guy to score.

Unfortunately, there weren't too many single women groups when I stopped by Xzyte either. The Palace had really gone downhill from my point of view. More Korean group tourists than Thai women.

Oh well, after striking out with the non-pros, I didn't have any problems finding a group of three very attractive girls at Tony's to spend the late night with. Fortunately, Tony's is open until 4am these days despite reports of a crackdown on closing times. I still had a good time checking out the local nightclub scene, having some drinks, and dancing, but if you're looking to score, Tony's and Lucifers are still the sure thing.

Kyodo News, Oct. 07:

A 70-year-old Japanese man was found murdered Thursday at a hotel in Thailand's eastern resort of Pattaya, police said Friday. Pattaya police said a hotel staffer found the victim dead Thursday morning in a bathtub of his room, his wrists and feet bound.

They said they found evidence of a possible struggle in the bedroom, including several shattered beer bottles. The victim was apparently dragged to the bathroom and then dumped in the tub. Police suspect the motive was robbery.

Pattaya Mail, XIII.40:

Police officers went to the Nit Guest House on September 27 following a report that a man had died in a room there.

At the scene officers found the body of Andrew Ratcliffe, a 57-year-old British citizen. They estimate he had been dead for two days. Beside the body there was an open bottle of whisky. There were no signs of a struggle or fighting.

Police assumed that he had died from natural causes and that nobody was aware of his death. As a result of their investigations however they concluded that the dead man probably had around 70,000 baht in cash, two mobile phones and a 5 baht gold bracelet, but there were no signs of any of these items in the room. Police stated that in such cases once a body is found, entry to the area should be prevented to stop people from taking the deceased person’s valuables.

I'm in Pattaya right now, it's the first time I've been here close to high-season. The past two times I was here I realized that if I wasn't with any of my white friends, I had to carry my U.S. passport. I'm Mexican with dark brown skin and I guess some clubs don't allow Arabic looking folk in for some reason. At that time, they looked at me in disbelief when I told them I was from America. On this visit they seem more polite and just asked me where I was from and let me in.

I got here on Friday night. After I checked into Royal Twins Palace, my first stop was Kitten Club to visit a girl I liked. Got to the door and the security man asked for 300 baht cover charge. I told him Kitten has no cover charge, he repeated and added that it includes a free drink. I asked him why they have cover now, he seemed not to understand english so good. It is a legal requirement for foreigners to be in possession of there passport at all times, likewise all Thais should have there ID card.

In practice it would be rather stupid if you were bathing in the sea to leave it on the beach or keep it on your person and even when you out on the town you are at risk of loosing it. getting lost passport replaced can ruin your vacation so can being locked up in the cells so you are kind of trapped between the devil and the deep blue sea.

I carry a copy of my passport in my wallet and leave my passport in room or hotel safe, in twenty or so visits to LOS I have nether been stopped by the boys in brown so do not know if it will work, though again I have never lost my passport though a few years ago my wallet was lifted and had I had my passport with me I could have lost that as well.

The problem arising now is the local police along with immigration police are raiding certain establishments for drugs and immigration offences, the immigration police are looking for overstayers so keeping a copy of your latest entry stamp and departure card may be a wise thing to do also.

Heard that Lucifer’s has been raided several times in the last few weeks and closing time strictly enforced by the boys in brown so either there is a lot of suspect goings on or it’s political.

This issue of carrying your passport or leaving it in your room safe has been running for many years now and I would have thought by now a common sense compromise would have been implemented, i.e. get a photocopy of your passport stamped by immigration valid for 30 days as an ID card

1)If you dont like to drink and dont like bars I would still go to one of the many beer bars, they are casual and a lot like an open air coffee house. It is still a bar but not like an american bar at all. You can play board games with one of the girls there. Just drink cokes if you are not a drinker.

3)It is easy to find a girl for a whole week, I never did that, but I would think you would just treat the girl you like well and ask her to stay on for the week. When I was there the 2nd woman I took to the motel gave me her cell #. I wish I had of spent more time with her. She was sweet and fun.

4) There are many hotels for less than $25 a night. RTFF and you will get more than enough information.

Most of your questions have been answered many times in the forum. You just need to read back a little. You can find women on beach road most anytime. Some of the beer bars are open early in the day. I would think a woman from beach road, short time would be as little as 500 baht or less and 1000 baht or less for all night. One other place you might want to try is the massage places.

If you are going to Pattaya for the first time you should read a lot of the past posts. Not only would people here be more inclined to help you if you had specific questions that had not been answered countless times in the past, but you would be a much more informed monger. Learn as much as you can before you go, and you will probably have a better time.

I dont think that Jackson allows talk about ladyboys on this forum, so you might want to look elsewhere for that info.

Anyhow, I went into Beaver's on walking Street last night. I think I saw some construction in there a few days ago. So I think it's new or renovated. It's a table dance club like Beach Club, it's just a bit smaller. They had some decent looking snatches and I had a good time with the two hostesses who sat with me.

Next stop, was Coyotee's Club, it's a 2 story club off walking St. Near the Marine disco and the Blues Factory. The Las Vegas City bar has reopened. The women there are not the top-notch quality I would get in a German FKK club, but they are not the gulag survivors and Chernobyl residents I was led to believe from the prior negative reports. The shower stage is nice, and the S&M show where they pulled a guy out of the audience was good for a laugh.

The quality of the girls at the Galaxy Club is much higher, and they know how to work the poles, but the prices (for beers and girls) are just too high.

Short time bars here....and there....

In my opinion Soi Yoksad is one of the most useful part of Pattaya. Here everybody can feel a 'sexy man', there are very little hassles and sex is as easy as it gets. If just most of the girls weren't so ugly......

However there is an interesting place in nearby Indonesia, called Dolly. A short comparison:

About 30 ST bars on Soi Yoksad, approx.100 at Dolly. 80 percent of girls are below standard at Soi 6 while 80 percent are doable at Dolly. Average price of ST/1hour is $20 USD at Yoksad and $8 at Dolly.

There are drawbacks too. While Pattaya at large can be great fun, there is nothing else much to do near Dolly than fucking (okay, there is some sightseeing nearby). In fact foreigners are rarely seen here at all. There is a comprehensive report just posted at the Indonesia/Surabaya link that tells much more.

It really is not worth a visit for it's own sake but only in combination with a complete holiday.

I just tried out two massage parlors in Pattaya (Sabaidee and Sabailand).
Price at both place is 1600B for 90 min. But the girl always finishs you up in one hour. The room at Saibailand is much better than Saibaidee. But the girl at Saibailand ordered a drink (150B!) even before I agreed. Both girls I did were ok but kind professional. You can certainly find some realy nice looking girls with great bidies. But I think for the money it is better to have 2 ST at Soi 6 than massage parlors unless you have never experience it before.

I heard there was a direct bus going BKK airport to Pattaya but not much info on this service.(how often do they run and how much do they charge). Note: saw that some bro posted Ekamai bus to Pattaya have 2 different services, one takes 2.5hrs and another takes over 4hrs? How would I know which bus to avoid?

As far as your first question, 99.9% would use the Baht bus. Besides you want to find a taxi Pattaya? 10 baht each will see you just about anyware in town.

Anyway there are stacks of bars at that end of town as well as several large massage places. Current walkin price seems to be 1600 baht at the moment. I was working on a frequent user discount but could only get it down to 1300

From the airport. there aren't that many busses - 4/day I think and I'm not sure how to find where they pick up at the airport

Ekkami is a 100B airport bus shuttle ride and then to Pattaya - cost is now 110B

Busses run from 6am to 11 pm and are all reserved seats. whan you get in to Pattaya there will be a bunch of bahtbus drivers trying to get you to take their bus - and USUALLY they are rather inflated in prices - personally I just cross the road and pick up the next baht bus going toward town.

you MIGHT have to change at where beach/north and naklua roads come together (and pay 10B) - (and then pay 10B more for the beach road leg) otherwise its 20B from bus station

Oh- and you might be better time wise going from Morchit- easier tollroad access - gets there faster. as to which bus to avoid - GO INSIDE and buy ticket - it will be a BLUE-WHITE bus. IF it has an orange stripe, you are on the "milk run" - avoid it. if they dont require a ticket to board, its not the right bus

the other option is to find another one or 2 persons and get a cab - much faster and a lot more comfortable as well but more expensive - what is your time worth?

And watch out for motorcycles on sidewalks - you make a good target (voice of experience)

--> WS and Soi1 are hardly on opposite sides of town. You either walk along BeachRoad or take a songthaew (bahtbus) along Second Road to get to Soi 1.

Went to Pattaya this weekend and wanted to share about a relatively easy way to return to BKK on a Sunday night (or probably any night for that mater).

Taking the bus from Ekamai anytime during the day is 110 Baht. It takes about 2 to 2-1/2 hours depending upon traffic and time of day. Thereafter, about 20 baht for the taxi to the hotel from the bus station.

On the way back this weekend, I took the bus that left Pattaya at 8:00 p.m. I noticed on this trip that they allow you to stop and get off at the On Nut BTS (Sky Train) station. On Sunday evening, without traffic, this took about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

If you plan to use the BTS from Ekamai, it's probably more convenient to exit at On Nut. However, you'll have to have your carry-on baggage with you as they can't open the baggage compartment on that part of Sukumvit, so pack light.

Sometimes the stretch between Ekamai and On Nut can take quite some time depending upon traffic, so best to use the BTS at On Nut if you can.

The cost is 250B and the trip takes maybe 2.5 hours to 3 - they make a stop to XFR pax from the bus to minbusses that deliver them to hotels, too. goes from the back of the bus station in P'ya to the right as you walk in (says "airport" on the sign at the back of the bus station - otherwise just ask "yahk bai sa-nam-bin tee nai, krup" and someone will "point" - to the same place - go inside office to purchase) They drop at Term 1, 2 and domestic as well.

There are also numerous scheduled departures by minibus to BKK available from most hotels/guest houses for 400B - just ask at desk - need 1 day in advance reservation, though250b=$6.10 dollars--cant beat that price with no hassles (like trying to get to other bus stations for ride to Pattaya)+ 2.5hours of nap time so could save energy for the evening mongering, cant wait.

One question , any idea where this transfer point is located for bus to minibus to hotels?

After a disappointing week in Koh Samui, due mostly to the uncontrolled development on the island, I headed up to Pattaya. I arrived Friday night, checked into the Amari (don't recommend it) and then went straight to Walking Street to meet up with a friend. He wasn't having much luck, which is amazing on its own. He wanted to head over to Soi 6 to meet up with a girl he had met before and I decided to tag along. A brief yet harrowing motorbike-ride later, we pull up to King Kong. It is on the top-end of the street and notable for its red curtain for a door. Inside, there were woman ranging from about a 4 to a 7. My friend was after one of the girls who on a good day would be a 7, is half-Japanese, pretty wild and has a tongue piercing she knows how to use. That left me with a rather plump 5 to talk to. Interestingly, the more I told her to keep her hands off, the more attention I got.

What makes King Kong interesting is the fact that the girls give both BJs and FS out in the open. Kind of funny seeing someone sitting at the bar with a beer in one hand, cigarette in the other and a girl between his legs. Unfortuntely, I didn't find out the prices, since I was playing hard to get. I would defnitely consider using the BTS from Ekami or better yet On Nut. I didn't know the BTS went to Ekami bus station. Is the name of the BTS stop called Ekami?Ekamai:

Ekamai is both the name of a BTS station as well as the name of a Bus Station in BKK.

It's about a 2-minute walk from the Ekamai BTS station to the Ekamai Bus station and vice-versa. So, many people take the BTS (generally faster than taxis) to get to the bus station.

Since my plan was to change from the Ekamai bus station to the Ekamai BTS station, when they announced the BTS station stop at On Nut, I figured this it would be faster than pulling into the bus station and then walking to the other BTS station. Just saved about 10-15 minutes of time.

It's important to note two things:

1) This only works on the return to BKK part of the trip.

2) The announcement is spoken in Thai, so if you can't speak Thai well, best to ask to be dropped of at the On Nut BTS station in advance.

just ask the bus driver "yoot satanee rot fai fa on nut dai mai krup" - "stop at skytrain ont nut can please?"

BUT the issue is you have to have CARRY only - not checked (in the bus belly) bags. You WILL save a lot of time - maybe 20 minutes because the skytrain is a LOT faster than the bus to Ekkamai (just 20B extra)

as was noted to go TO Pattaya, you MUST go to the bus station for the Express bus or sit an extra hour or so on the s..l..o..w local bus because the express bus doesn't pick up beyond the bus terminal

Nutso - most of the bars in Soi 6 are about 500B service fees

PT - XFR point was somewhere out south (I think - not sure- but was about 45 min away from the airport once we got back on the road after the 5 minute or so stop) before on nut station for sure - I don't know the city that well. It was at a maintenance facility for the busses and I didnt ask what the fees were for hotel transfer - just heard that it "occured" - but probably the same as for BKK. If you are going to the airport, you just stay on the bus

I was just recently in Pattaya, the stuff about pollution, traffic issues, rip-offs and such are true, but I would submit that most of these situations are waiting for you in other many other cities/countries as well. Yeah, I think that you are absolutly right. I've been to Pattaya a couple of times in the last few months and have really enjoyed myself too. Probably the key to enjoying Pattaya is not to stay there too long. Its an amusing place and a nice getaway from Bangkok, but if I stayed there for four months I'd be looking for greener pastures too.

A lot of foreigners have built houses there and seem to be happy with their choice, they tend to take a long term view of the place and are more invested in it than a casual visitor whose main concerns revolve around motorcycle helmets.

Four months is a wierd amount of time to stay in any one place; you sort of live there, but really don't. To me Pattaya just is what it is; you don't want to go there with the expectation of some sort of seaside resort run with Swiss effeciency, you go for the funky atmosphere and general craziness of the place.

My mama always said-“if you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen”, I never drive in Thailand, just so much easier and cheaper to hire a car and driver as needed. I stayed in Pattaya for two weeks this go around; I’ll be headed back in May (after Cobra Gold), this time for a month. I stay at a hotel that is more apartment like rather than hotel like.

Some of the guys on this board need to realize that they are in Thailand, it’s laid back, so quit getting laid three-four times a day, find a gal who will spend some time with them, enjoy a “normal” relationship, even if it is pay for play. Have sex once a day, quit getting “dick in pussy” shots and enjoy the ride, take time at sex, relax, give the girl a massage…be different, see what happens.

As far as the other stuff, stay away from the beach road at 3-4 AM, stay off of Pattaya 3rd late at night and so on, that will improve the entire Pattaya experience. Far too much mongering on the cheap…always a good recipe for disappointment.

The Sunbeam Hotel has a wifi service 500bath for 6 hours card. Which you can also use when you stay at the opposite hotel Sunshine. I booked a room at the end of the building at the 11. Floor and the wifi connection from the sunbeam hotel works super. I suppose all the rooms closest to the street from 4th floor and up in the new building would be able to use the wifi from sunbeam.

Further I would like to know if anybody knows the best places for poolbiljart in Pattaya. In most the bars the girl look a lot more professional then the tables. And the tables have too smal snooker like balls and are not competion size. Any poollover has tips for me?

I was in Pattaya more than 20 times and I have never felt the necessity to write a report... Sex is so easily available in Pattaya... Yes but a friend told me recently that the quality is not ever easy to get.

Let me summarize for him and for all my brothers in mongering some of my modest observations.

Gogos

Clearly the nicest girls of the scene... 1000 to 1500 bahts for ST, 2000 bahts for the night... more for some superstars... but I was often disappointed by the quality of the service. Often cold... a pure commercial relationship.... I like good sex and the GFE. Some exceptions like Bed of the Happy a gogo... A bomb in the bed... 3 pops in the nights.

Best places Peppermint, Happy a gogo.

Open Bier bars

Most are in clusters. Many average looking ladies.... some are really ugly... Not the top of the basket... Where ? Soi 7 and 8 ... soi 2 and 3... Best Friend Plaza or Siren Plaza (entry of Walking street) are the most classical places. Many bars are using very sexy girls to catch customers ... but these girls are not on the menu... Atlantic Cafe (soi 3) has invented the concept of "Service girls" ... You can look but not touch. I am not interested by the Singha or by stupid games... I think that mongers have to avoid these type of traps.

Even when I found a nice looking girl in an open bar, she was often not interested by Poupard... Poupard is not Tom Cruise. So... find a nice looking girl who likes Poupard (or at least is not disgusted by Poupard) needs a lot of time. A motobike can help to save time in bar cruising... Find Mrs Right is not so easy... 500 bahts for ST and 1000 bahts for LT.

Beach road

Dead since the Mayor of Pattaya had a dream... to transform his city in another Nice, Cannes or Miami... Policemen have chased the girls out of the Beach road. I should say that I was not a fan of the Beach road... Many dogs, many customers are disgusting (dirty, old, fat men...).

Free lancers

Can be found in Tony's, Marine Disco, Lucifer... sometimes in malls. Many good looking girls but ... some are just here to have fun. Sometimes, Poupard has spent a lot of money for nothing. I prefer to go dance with my lady of the night... I am more relax like that.

.... So where to find the GOOD GIRL ?

My favourite place is soi 6 (Short time bars)... Many bars have opened in the last two years... many girls available ... Most of these girls are good in bed... because the girls who are not loving to fuck cannot bear the rythm of soi 6.... Of course, many average looking girls ... but when you will find a good one... you are almost sure that she will be good in the bed.

I should say that 70 % of my best ladies in the last 5 years have been found in soi 6. I would need some advise from someone who has done the following experience. I plan to take my Chinese girlfriend to Pattaya and make her the surprise of a massage parlor session. That would be in the same room and if possible the same bath : me, my girl friend, my masseuse and her masseuse. Preferaby, her masseuse (or both masseuses) would be a lesbian. I have heard there are also women customers in these places sometime. And I saw pictures of extra size bath tubs. When I stayed in May this year in Pattaya in the Sabai Massage Parlours on Second Road, I saw two times a couple coming in and taking place on one of the tables to have a look at the ladies in the fish bowl. Dutch 'gangster' gunned down at Pattaya

Bangkok (dpa) - A Dutch man said by authorities to be a top gangster in the Netherlands, was shot dead Wednesday by two unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle, police said.

Johannes Mieremet, 45, was shot in the right ear and stomach by two unidentified men Wednesday morning outside his home in Chon Buri province, according to a Pattaya Tourist Police report.

Mieremet was identified by the Dutch news agency ANP as a "top gangster". He was married to a Thai, Sukunya Kanin, 29.

He claimed to be a contractor in Pattaya, involved in the construction of the Lion Park housing development.

Santi’s reports on hotels providing sex services led to transfers of senior police. Chon Buri police are investigating the gangland-style murder of a journalist and local newspaper owner found shot dead in his BMW yesterday morning in Pattaya.

Santi Lammaneenil, 38, was shot three times – in the forehead, under the chin and in the right temple. His hands were tied with a power cord from a mobile-phone battery charger. He had been dead about 10 hours before his body was found at 7am in Bang Lamung district, according to the initial autopsy report.

Lt-General Jongrak Juthanond, commander of Provincial Police Region 2, said someone might have wanted Santi killed because of his gambling debts, extramarital affair or his exposure of night entertainment venues in the beach resort town that operated beyond legal hours.

Up to three men might have abducted Santi, or tricked him into meeting them at the crime scene, Jongrak said.

The editor of the Pattaya Post newspaper for more than 10 years, Santi also freelanced for TV Channel 7, and Khao Sod and Khom Chad Luek newspapers. He was deputy chairman of the local press association and set to become its chairman.

A local veteran reporter, who identified himself as Dej, said Santi’s coverage over the past few months of certain hotels in Pattaya providing prostitutes had led to the immediate transfers of five senior police.

Santi’s car was parked with the engine still running when it was found near brush on Naklua Soi 16. The car’s interior had been ransacked and the rear windscreen had a bullet hole. His pistol was found in the car with two bullets fired.

Police quoted his widow, Sumalee Seedaeng, as saying Santi told her about specific information stored on his personal computer before he went missing on Monday. Police have not found any information leading to a possible motive.

Sumalee said a man with a large build had twice come to look for Santi at her house – the first time on the day Santi went missing and the second time the day after. Santi had frequently stayed overnight with his relatives over the past few months. Recently he asked her: “How could our family go on if I’m abducted and killed?”

A Swiss tourist apparently lost his mind outside the 7-Eleven on Beach Road, at Soi 11, where police officers found him loudly bewailing the cruelty of Thai women and begging for food from passers-by.

Philippe Hugli was allegedly left destitute by his Thai girlfriend, which apparently pushed him over the edge.

The man was identified as Philippe Hugli, age 42. Officers escorted him to Pattaya police station where they took care of him until he calmed down. They also contacted the Swiss Embassy, as Hugli’s visa had expired, and suggested he be sent home. Police watched over him until the arrival of the officials, saying they had no intention to detain him as his mental condition could prove dangerous to himself or others.

Hugli was reportedly suffering from dementia due to disappointment that a Thai woman had broken off a relationship with him and left him broke.

Heartbroken woman exposes herself on Pattaya Beach.

Late on Monday night Pattaya Police were alerted by Pattaya City Security Officers that a naked woman was causing a commotion on Pattaya Beach opposite Soi 9. As you can see the semi-naked woman was certainly not shy and was prepared to show passers-by parts of her body not normally seen in a public place here in Pattaya.

Police arrived and decided that a female officer was required and eventually a female city hall volunteer officer arrived and escorted the woman off the beach and provided her with a T-Shirt. So why did she do this?

We managed to speak with the clearly disturbed woman who mentioned to us that she had recently broken up with her foreign boyfriend and simply could not cope with the separation and began to drink heavily. Although many will find this story amusing there is a serious side to this which highlights the lack of psychiatric care available to people such as this. We have reported on cases of self-mutilation and even suicide in the past which could have been prevented if the support for these emotionally unstable people was there.

Tooch - most of the taxi sellers (the stands with the signs) on 2nd road are reliable to show up when they say.

Plan on a 3:30 departure from Pattaya to avoid the traffic and get there by about 6am the traffic starts backing up at maybe 5am or so - take the toll road for the last half of the journey - it is well worth the extra 100B or so. Price seems to be about 900B or so plus whatever you decide to tip - don't expect much conversation unless you speak Thai. Just arrange it at least 1 day in advance.

I have done the trip several ways -

bus to Ekkamai early in the afternoon, stay somewhere, taxi to airport (350B plus whatever the room costs);

bus to airport and do an "all nighter" (250B plus utter boredom - glad I had my laptop for entertainment - lowest cost but a TOTAL waste of the last night - there was an option, though, to put bags in theairport lock up at 90B/bag and go downtown or whatever on the "airport bus" 100B to Suk then taxi back - but IF you do that why not just take the express bus to Ekkamai and then get a room at Nana or similar environs - remember, if you DO stay in BKK, the time to the airport needs to be factored in - and it CAN BE SUBSTANTIAL);

bus to the airport, find out that the (less expensive) airport hotels are "full" - take a cab to go somewhere else to find a room (not exactly recommended unless you know the area a "bit" - besides, it turns out to be the most costly of the options - 250B bus, taxi 200+200, room 800 - the only advantage was being able to sleep until 430 (I was leaving at 645)- room was out by Skytrain station Sampon Kwai);

taxi up from Pattaya (costs, say, 1100B with a 100B tip - you can revel the last night and be ready to go when the cab shows up and catch a few winks in the cab - pack in advance)

So personally, I will arrange transport with a cab driver whose card I got a trip or so ago but didn't find until I got back home (bummer - would have been a LOT less money in the long run - the last trip was the "run all over to find a room" trip)

BKK to Pattaya - Private car 1500B. Book at any travel agent on the streets.
Mini Van - 400 B but it is a torture. The van will go all around BKK picking up with people from different hotels and you would be extremely lucky to be the last one to be picked up. Then you are packed like sardines.

Pattaya to BKK - Private car 1000B. You can book at any travel agent or ask the hotel desk to find you one.

For 8 am flight leave at 3:30 pm. Go direct to Airport. Should have plenty of time to catch your flight.

Unless you are on a very tight budget taking a bus or mini-van is not worth it.

There really isn't an average price because the green fees vary a lot
between courses. Just in general its a lot cheaper to play on weekdays than on weekends.
The courses are really a great value compared to just about anywhere else in the world. A sort of mid range green fee is probably about 700 baht
on weekdays plus about 200 baht for a caddy and another 400 baht or so if you need to rent clubs.

I was in Pattaya in late October and stayed at the Areca Lodge for $30 USD per nite, including breakfast for 2. (My 1st visit to Pattaya and I was very pleased w/ my selection.)

My only complaint was that the shower curtain was too narrow, hence when the girl and/or I showered, water always ended up on the bathroom floor, thus making it a little soggy for night time bathroom visits.

The lobby internet room was convenient. They had 2 PC's and a cable for your own laptop. The fee was 1 THB per min for a minimum charge of 20 THB. (Sometimes they did not charge me.)

In room safe was fine.

No guest fees, but they did ask the girls I brought back in the evening to sign in and leave their ID. Afternoon guests just walked right in.

BTW, I booked a taxi for to travel back to BKK for a mere 800 THB + tolls. I secured this from one of the nearby sidewalk booths.

Also, as much as I told myself to sample the ample talent available, I found myself gravitating to the C-4 Beer Bar on Soi Dianna (200 yds from the Acrea Lodge.) Hooked up w/ a 25 yo named Lat. As I am 50 yo, I found her to be an oustanding GFE for the 48 hrs I spent w/ her. She even accompanied me to the Walking Street Go-Go's, which I enjoyed. Bar fine was 200 THB. If you see her, tell her 'King Kong' said hi. (her nickname for me due to my chest hair and not my tool size!)

Sean gave you some good information. I would also add that if you are going to be in Pattaya and plan to play some golf perhaps you should consider joining the Pattaya Sports Club. You can do a google search on them to find their website. I am not sure what it costs to join but I think it's around 700 baht per year. I think just about all the courses in the Pattaya area offer PSC greens fee discounts. It only takes a couple of rounds before it pays for itself.

In addition, the PSC is also a good source for people to play with if you are by yourself. You can also share transportation costs with other PSC members to and from the golf courses which can be significant if you take a taxi by yourself to the course.

Finally, there are a number of bars in Pattaya that are golfer hangouts where you can meet with other golfers, have a few drinks with them, and arrange some matches. Lewinski's Bar is one of them... they also have a website. Off the top of my head I can't remember any of the other golfer bars or hangouts...there are a number of them. Perhaps somebody else here can list some of them.

Even before my departure, I knew this may very well be my last trip to the Sin and Fun City. It’s just like a hobby. I have been there, done that.

First stop New Star. It used to be my favorite bar in the good old days. The girls used to be cute and fun to talk to. They’d hang around like your girl friends. I remember once I took a girl to the balcony of my room over looking the Pattaya Bay. “How romantic!” She exclaimed! And that night we had a wonderful time. Now the fun girls have long gone. The new girls are lethargic. The place is just another beer bar.

Next stop Diamond a Go Go. IMHO it’s over rated. The girls are petite and average looking. Drink prices are on the high end.

Super Model a Go Go is very similar to Diamond a Go Go. Some girls are pretty and friendly.

Super Baby a Go Go still has the best looking and refined girls in town. The club seems to have strict rules on the girls so the atmosphere is somewhat uninspiring. They dance, they sit, and that’s it. The same old music everyday. I saw the girl I met last year. What are difference a year makes! She used to be the prettiest girl in the bar. Now she is 22 but looks 28 and weary. Of course she doesn’t remember me. I am just another 1,000 baht bill in her wallet. Bought her a lady drink and sent her away.

Heaven Above a Go Go: It turns out to be a Hell experience there. First I was asked to buy money balls. I declined and got a dirty look. The girls were sweet (Aren’t they all sweet in the bar?) I barfined girl #12 LT. Back to the hotel she wanted to ST. So I sent her back to the bar. She started screaming, cursing, yelling racial slurs. It was an eye opener to see just how nasty a Thai bar girl can be. The “manager” appeared to be an aged ugly bar girl herself, so of course they won’t give me the barfime back. Actually, this is a quite common scam by the girls (not just in this bar), especially in the early evening, since they can return to the bar, hook another customer, and max out their income. Some girls are honest and would tell you upfront that they do ST only, other girls would say anything to get you pay the barfine, then try to renegotiate once they get to your room. So be prepared for an unpleasant surprise.

Carousel: The place looked exactly the way when I left last year.

Doll House: Same old same old. Expensive drinks. Girls and mamasans took turns requesting drinks, even before my drink was served.

Electric Blue has nude dancers upstairs. I was led to sit just inches in front of them, and that’s too close for comfort. After all, this is Thailand. Who wants pussies dancing just above his head? The girls were not impressed. They gave me dirty looks, saying I blocked the views to their fat asses. WTF? I picked up my drink and went downstairs. Before long a pretty thing came over to chat. I was mildly surprised because usually only ugly girls do that. She didn’t ask drinks and I didn’t offer. But I was impressed with her bubbling personality, and I was not disappointed. Thai venues are the Karaokes where you can take the girls out. Prices are 1,500 to 2,500 baht LT, pay before you play. The girls are light skinned but not better looking than BGs. Picked one. Only missionary allowed. Only one shot allowed. Then she emerged from the bathroom with a mystic smile, “accident, we have accident.” I got scared but I was confident my raincoat was intact. What game was she playing? In the future I’ve got to safeguard my property.

Oh, BTW, I met two BGs who both are getting money from their Farang boy friends. Both are still going out with customers, and both are willing to boom boom me for money (I got put off after learning this). So guys, if you are reading this, wake up!

Pattaya certainly has changed a lot. New hotels and shops are being built. English signs, Chinese signs, Russian signs are everywhere. Prices have gone up. Thais are getting rude, service quality is going down, and the girls are getting shrewd and harsh. Most of the girls have an attitude as if we owe them money and as if we should pay their way. They don’t understand that they have to earn it. I don’t think the pleasure (if you are lucky to get any at all) can justify the costs any longer. There’re better beaches and better places to find better looking and fresh women. So I say so long, Pattaya.

I totally agree with you - it was a year before I went back - the difference can be felt. Price increases across the board, still its possible to find half decent chics, but one has to look really hard.

I saw one walking in the street with her friends on the way to work at a bar on Soi 8. Even though the bar fine was only 200 baht and I wanted to keep her a few days she insisted that I bar fine her each day i.e. come to the bar
every time. In the end I just said to her bugger it, what for when there are so many around.

The bad attitude is definitely on the up but this Soi 8 chic I snagged was quite sweet. The soapies are on the way down I think and I never got to try in BKK.

Heaven Above a Go Go: It turns out to be a Hell experience there. First I was asked to buy money balls. I declined and got a dirty look. The girls were sweet (Aren’t they all sweet in the bar?) I barfined girl #12 LT. Back to the hotel she wanted to ST. So I sent her back to the bar. She started screaming, cursing, yelling racial slurs. It was an eye opener to see just how nasty a Thai bar girl can be. The “manager” appeared to be an aged ugly bar girl herself, so of course they won’t give me the barfime back. Actually, this is a quite common scam by the girls (not just in this bar), especially in the early evening, since they can return to the bar, hook another customer, and max out their income. Some girls are honest and would tell you upfront that they do ST only, other girls would say anything to get you pay the barfine, then try to renegotiate once they get to your room. So be prepared for an unpleasant surprise.

It’s an upstairs bar with many hawkers, what did you expect? What warnings did we all have about upstairs bars in Bangkok.

Yes, and with cheap Internet and cell phone service this is getting a bit out of hand. Yes, it has, but I’ve going there since 86’ and I really think that there are some positive improvements along with some of the negatives. The problem with finding other venues is in 10 years they will have matured and head the same way as you say Pattaya has. You refused ID check at Coyotes, good for you, but the next guy showed his, time to just refuse the BS and take only the good and hope the economic aspect will take care of the rest.

It isn’t prevalent, in fact finding girls that are into each other is difficult in Pattaya. The safest bet is doing your search in go-go’s, comb several ones and you’ll probably come across some takers eventually, though at a price.

ThanksI just got back from Pattaya and had the time of my life. If your in a gogo, find one girl you like first, then quietly tell her that you want "two" lady for tonight. Ask her which girl you should BF. Remember, they're not all friends with each other, and if you let her pick choose her friend, you'll have a way better time than if you were to pick someone she hardly knows.
