BeachRoad is a 24 hour operation. All sorts from 11AM-6PM, all sorts + some that wouldn't come out into the daylight for reasons we can all understand from 6PM-2AM, then it's the same + bargirls on their way 'home', there could be a reason why they weren't picked up from the bar. From 4AM till dawn BeachRoad is not a pretty sight when druggies and drunks take over. Then it's all a bit slow until 11AM and things start all over again.
It is a place for quick decisions, blink once and your girl is gone.

Last night was the most exhilarating experience in my entire life. Wondering around the beer bars solo, I eventually found my way to my favourite haunt, Tony's disco. Eventually the bouncers intervened, and they proceeded to eject the cocky bastards out of the club. The two girls were a little shaken by the incident. I then offered to buy them a drink to help them calm down. They told me that they did not want to go with those men because, not only were they drunk, they were also violent. I can't say I blame them. At this stage I wasn't thinking about anything sexual. I invited them back to my hotel for some supper. Happily they accepted and off we went. Seeing it was very quiet in the coffee lounge, the girls asked if it was ok for them to just order room service from my room. Ah, that's when it hit me. I might be in for some serious action tonight. It's not that I'm rich. It's that I'm young, single and got nothing really to spend my money on. And Plugger, I can't tell you precisely what I do for a living. All I can say is that I'm in the tertiary education system and, part of my job requires me to travel to Malaysia, Singapore, Holland, Indonesia and the UK to discuss partnerships with other colleges.
Regarding Tony's disco, it is overpriced as hell. Heineken 190 baht, wisky 210 baht, coke 150 baht, genuine rip off. I try to have a few drinks before going in there. The club doesn't pick up until around midnight anyway.

Sainter - I don't know why you'd be afraid to ask for more in the morning. You paid them full boat fees, plus fed them. Nothings more fun than a morning bj to get the blood flowing.
I dislike Tony's because of the deluge of advertisting they have on everything in the town. From posters on private residence doors, to many baht buses and then the rip off prices on drinks.
Meatman - I'd say 80% of the beach girls are from Isaan. About the same average as all other working girls.

Just took a short 3 day reprise to Ko Chang. Had a great time and it was a beautiful break from the hustle of Pattaya. Not too much going on there in the way of ladies though. There are about 6 or 7 beer bars spread out on the main run a White Sands Beach road, which is the main area on the island for beach huts and hotels. There is a disco that doesn't get cooking until midnight and has some freelancers. Took a kayak trip to some small neighboring islands to snorkel and spearfish. That nigh I took a cute bargirl I picked up at KC's reggae bar on the beach, walked about 200 feet to my hut to get down. 500 bt st and 300 bt for the hut. I wanted to make a comment to a post on June 21st. It was about two British guys who have formed the biggest SE Asian group of websites in the world. Nailer this begs the question of why you are directing members to these sites? They are bad news and yet you neglect to inform anyone of this. You seem to praise these sites. Why?

Never seen anyone have a problem getting into Classroom A Go Go (Soi Pattayaland II) but I have seen Arab looking people turned away at mant clubs or charged 200 baht for first drink. This is Thailand and if they want to charge you double because of your race they can and will.
Try walking in with a group of expats and you may not have a problem.

Regarding my post about the two guys who run the SE Asia sites. You are totally right about virus's and spyware that comes with viewing their sites. I had to clear my entire computer and re-install all my programs several months ago, very costly, after checking them out. I didn't have an anti-virus program at the time, but installed Norton and I don't think I've had a problem since.
I just wanted to comment that pornographers don't take the risk of aids. This is well organized and there are people besides those 2 who are making money from those sites. It's not amature. I will be visiting Pattaya for 3 nights next month, I did visit last year but I spent my time with a TG from Jomtien so I didn't really check out Pattaya to it's full extent.
We did go to tiffany show and a couple of beer bars before we had a nice sea food meal on Walking street. This time I am staying in Central Pattaya and intend to check out the town better.
Are there any 'Must visit' places or should I just 'Go with the Flow'.

Regarding discrimination, I suspect the Thais do that mostly because they assume different races dislike each other and might either not go into a bar containing other races, or get into a fight if they did. True, Thais dislike South Asians and Middle Easterns more than they dislike whites, but I wouldn't take it too hard. They don't really like any of us much. I'm just awfully grateful they keep Thai men out of the venues - or perhaps the Thai men just choose not to attend. Nothing more uncomfortable than having the local men around when you're trying to 'exploit' the local women.

Well, it has happen again, it seems every year the greed of the Walking Street Go Go Bar owners comes out. But it is a little early this year, went into Living Dolls last night and the bar fine is now 1000 baht until midnight and 600 baht from midnight until the 2:00am close. These higher fees will stay in effect until just after the first of the year.
Dollhouse is going to the higher bar fines on Monday and the others will soon follow. This is nothing but the greed of the owners trying to keep the girls in the clubs all night so we will stay and buy drinks.
I vote with my feet and stay away from the clubs who raise their fees and go to those who keep things resonable.

SR - Yet another reason to stick to beer bar girls. 1000 baht fine is silly. I don't think they realize the damage they do to themselves when they pull this crap. Unless there is so much extra demand, they're going to cut their revenue in half.
And even if they broke even (1/2 as many bar fines, twice the normal amount per barfine), the girls are going to be pissed, 'cause they're only working half as much.
1000 baut bar fine is just pure greed. I would never pay that when there are too many cheaper options. I know most men think with their dicks and would pay this if they really liked the girl. As mentioned yesterday, I hooked up with some ex-GF and first went to BIG-C to see "Lord of the rings- return of the king". Per my newbie trip back in Feb/March:
Took the free Transport from Dynasty in Bangkok with my rented TGF. Hot mini bus ride to there Inn in Pattaya. BTW, if you stay there try to get 1st floor infront of the pool. I'm not sure what other rooms are like, but this one was huge and about 15ft from the pool. Think it cost a little over 1k bht. Also, if you stay there I'd you might think about renting a bike. I'ts uphill and aways from everything. They offer a free driver at certain times durring the day, however.
First day my TG had a friend come do our laundry. Kind of odd experience. She came back later with the clothes, on her scooter. I drove us into town in search for a motorcycle rental. BTW, me at 190 lbs and 2 100lbs TGs isn't that fun to navigate on a moped in Pattaya traffic. Although I have to say it was a fond memory, driving on the wrong side of traffic to catch the other 500 mopeds up front at the lights. Her friend took us to a place that had a Honda 450 I think, nice big fat tank. 400 BHT daily, no insurance as is the norm. Newb side note, as far as I can tell, you cannot get insurance on motorcycles in Thailand. And if they offer it I, from what I've read, it's bogus. Even the Harley rental they don't offer. But if you've the balls (or ignorance?), I'd say it's worth it to rent a bike as I had a blast and memorable experience. Nothing real exciting that night, went to some bars close to walking street and drove back.
Second day more of the same. Visited Hard Rock for lunch. Priced same as in the US. Though the staff was much more fun, and the menu is a little different. Fun stuff though.
I did enjoy my trip to Pattaya, much more that Patong in Bangkok. Although when I was there, alot of the bars were empty. Went to a couple nice Go-Gos, they seemed a little nicer and outgoing than the few I went to in Nana (not to knock NEP).
Third day, woke up late, went to Hard Rock to replace my first cap from there, then left for BKK. Applecoc out.
Well guys, looks like day time Go Go Dancing maybe is becoming a thing of the past. Two weeks ago it started with Pattayaland II, both Misty’s and Classroom were told by the police to stop dancing before 6:00pm and then the other clubs like TQ1 who has had daytime dancing for 25 years were told no more.
The dust has settled a little bit over the last couple of weeks, the clubs can open in the afternoon, but they can’t dance or be on the stage. Misty’s no longer opening at 2:00pm, the new time is three with dancing at 4:00pm, Classroom still opens at 2:00pm but again no dancing until 4:00pm, TQ1 still is open at noon but again no dancing.
Hopefully this is not a permanent thing but you never know. And with the Thai Government talking about rolling the closing times back to midnight or 10:00pm thing could get even worst.

Dynasty Hotels opened a new hotel in Pattaya over the summer and the location is much better. The new Dynasty Pattaya is located on the corner of Second Road and Soi 13, rates are still about the same.
Thanks for the info on a new Dynasty. I plan to stay there in June for a few days and will check it out. I just noticed on their website it quotes 1200 bht for double occupancy. I paid 990 for a double in Bangkok last Feb. If anyone has been there recently, is this new?

Some years ago I was a Senior Engineer for an Australian company and went to Thailand often for sales support and fix it. First fix it job was near Rayong and I had to go to another project near Pattaya.
They screwed up and put me on the local bus instead of the air-conditioned express bus. 5 hours to Pattaya instead of one and a half.

During the day we do some tourist things etc.
Next night she indicates that I should stay in the hotel while she goes to work. At 2am she comes back.
The next night I leave for Bangkok airport at 4am by "limo" (actually receptionist's neighbor's brother) and she checks out with me and we go our seperate ways.
Next time I am in Pattaya I go to the bar. I am not sure if I will find her, but there she is! I pay bar fine and we go to my hotel.
Next night she goes to work without me. I always wondered what would happen if someone else wanted to bar fine her.
In about 15 visits to Pattaya, sometimes I went to her bar and sit until it closed, or other times do my own thing and she comes to my hotel after work, except my last visit to Pattaya.
Someone had taken her away for 3 days. I never saw her again (this was before the days of everyone having cell phones)
She never cost me one cent apart from food and the bar fine each time I arrive in Pattaya. It seemed to be some sort of ritual that I pay the bar fine once each trip.

Well, for any of you who are planning on hitting Pattaya soon and stay at the High 5 hotel corner of Soi 8 and second Road change your plans. It seems the hotel started Christmas early today with a nice little fire which killed the power to Soi 8 for most of the day.
The hotel has lots of smoke and water damage but tonight, Christmas Eve, the party goes on along Soi 8.

all motorbikes in thailand have an insurance, you have to prove that for your yearly prolongation of your license. I myself own a chopper in thailand (750cc) and always have to show them the insurance contract when I pay the tax for my motorbike. Every car and motorbike has to have two stickers somewhere, the round one is for tax, the square one for insurance. Different colours every year, so police could check if they are interested (never had them asking for it ever since even when I was overdue). Problem is, coverage is just 50.000 baht, there are premium rates but I doubt that any thai is willing to pay more than necessary for an insurance.

You might have your opinion, I have mine, that's what makes the forum interesting. But at least I kindly ask you to read properly before issuing stupid questions. I have been at places you never even have heard of or would hardly been allowed to enter. I believe to have seen and heard most if not all stories and tricks a thai girl might tell a foreigner. So please accept that I am not new to the business and totally knew what I am up to.
Bottom line is, a girl might tell me a story to keep up the price but 1000 bt LT with 4 pops should prove that I did not fall for them. I know that I could have gone away with far less, between 500 - 800 would have been sufficient, but I never will be cheap. Anyway, I pay 1000 ST or even more if I am satisfied, why not. It's my money, I can easily afford it only from the interest I got from my investments in thailand. I am wealthy and being fair gives me also a very good reputation. Most girls at bars or gogos talk to each other, especially about the payment. You would hardly find any girl that would refuse to go with me again and again. I have taken many girls from the same place without ever being in trouble by doing that. I often use former GFs to get phone numbers from cute girls who currently stay with other customers or are into long term relationships. They also advertise for me at the same time and try to convince the girls to stay with me rather than with some tourist or just the looser who is with them right now. Does any thai girl do that for you without being payed for it ?

Anyone interested in a cheap flight to Bangkok? Myself and three friends are travelling from Heathrow on Thursday the 29th of January, returning back at Heathrow on Sunday the 15th February.
The flight is available due to a late withdrawal of a virgin who is now loved up with an old slapper, what a pity. Since it's christmas and Pattaya is packed right now, I went out around 7pm for an early pick up. Relief and peace of mind for the evening/night to come.
Was walking through soi 7 and soi 8 but didn't see anything that really attracted me. Some above average girls but no real stunners or cuties around. Maybe others had been faster than me. Diver - you fell into the trap of getting on the first bus leaving Ekkamai with the tout yelling "PATTAYA". IF you don't go INSIDE the terminal and get a ticket (different bus line, actually), you get the "local but gets you there" bus that takes _4_ hours to get there - _2_ hours on the non-stop. Did that my first trip, too, so you're not alone. When you return, go to the bus station on North Pattaya road and get a direct non-stop ticket (oh, yeah, it costs about 10B more. 55555 (laughing in Thai - "ha" is 5) saves a LOT of time, runs last bus north at about 8, I sort of remember)
No rooms in Pattaya...
After several unsuccessful atempts at finding a hotel in Pattaya (both before arriving in BKK and from BKK), decided to just get to Pattaya and look for a hotel there.
Taxi cost= Bht 1500, including tolls. May be a bit much, but the driver drove me around Pattya to different hotels, so it's OK>
No rooms at both Flipers and both Eastinys, and a couple of others.
Then stored my bad at the Flipper Lodge and took of down Soi 8 on foot.
The Sunshine Hotel & Residence had a Superior room in the new wing for Bht 1600.
Was in no position to negotiate or try any other hotel so booked 2 nights.
The hotel room was actually disappointing. Nothing more than a cheap Motels that we see in the USA.
Room was big but had a stale smell and was the only room available. No alarm clocks in any of the rooms.
You can blame the room shortage on holidays and the Europeans. Didn't hear/see a single American!
First night in Pattaya and no sex?
Yes. That's exactly what hapened. Didn't see anything enticing at the beer bars on Soi8, but didnt stop long enough too get a good look.

Hotels here run at close to 100% during this time. About the Americans, were you in the same Pattaya that I have been for the last month? Lots of Americans can be found everywhere here. Just walk down Soi 8 and you can't help but run into several fellow Americans.
The girls have been uncovered here for a while now, the covers went on just before the Queens Birthday and came off around the time APEC hit Thailand. So only about seven weeks of no showing here which is not really that bad.

Thanks for the info, though I don't quite follow what you're saying. While trying to rent a bike, I haven't found a place that offers insurance on it. Rather, if I had an accident I would be paying out of my own pocket, to repair the bike,in leu of an "insurance" company, like I am accustomed to back in the States. Although, the Harley rental requires a decent deposit, I assumed you would still be required to pay for any damages or for a stolen bike. Anywho, from asking around, I found no places that offered insurance on the rentals. To clarify, I asked specifically I could purchase insurance to cover the bike. They generally smile and give a resounding No. If you have additional information on this, I'd be interested in it.

went out as usual for an early pickup at around 7pm. checked out the naklua bar scene, soi 2, soi 6 - soi 9. no cute girls at all, guess i am too picky. spent the night as usual with meeting friends, party till the morning and always on the hunt. all good looking girls - there seem to be only a few around - are already taken, mostly for more than just a day. so nothing to my taste.

In general, most rental do not carry the insurance, from what I understand about accidents, please someone correct me if I'm wrong, is that if you are not a local, whether the accident was cause by you or not, most likely you will be blame for it! It helps if you have a Internation driver license. Good for 1 year and it can be used for an I.D.
Concerning insurance, I saw a rental place, advertising insurance, behind the Big C. Central Pattaya!
Take second road and head north, just before the Big C, there a soupie massage ( Sabai ) make a right, go down to the end and make another right, just before your next right there are signs up on polls indicating bike rentals and insurance. Now whether they rent anything other than 100cc, 110cc, or 125 cc, is beyond me.
In Pattaya, I see no reason to need anything bigger than the above mention size! Accept for ones ego! IMHO! Get the buzz
off with the women! Although, Traveler seem to have done well with his chopper and the girls from Singapore.

I remeber that, and tried a bunch of hotels before leaving for LOS, but none of the hotels were willing to book for only 2 nights between christmas and New year.
I could have gotten a room at Marriott or Hard Rock, but they are apparently not friendly.
Rolling my large pieceof luggage down Soi 8, in front of hundereds of Bargirls, and their offers to take me in, was an adventure in itself!
And as I posted earlier, although the sole reason for my goign to Pattya was find some of the chicks you guys always mention, but I had a very enjoyable night, without even barfinig any of the dancers.
Conclusion: Should have concentrated on staying longer in Pattaya and shorten the stay in BKK. Well, you live and learn.

I used Maipang in April 2003. Had a good experience with them. I dealt with a Thai guy named Jong. He had an English friend named Steve who owned (owns?) a small place called the Alloy Bar. Gave me lots of good info, helpful for my first time there.
Check the attachment for numbers & map. I knew hoarding dozens of business cards would come in handy one day.

i am with you, a 100 - 125cc is more than sufficient to go around in pattaya. i also believe it is more convienient as well. you don't get stucked in the traffic jam like i do sometimes. a chopper needs more space and is harder to handle, especially for an unexperienced driver. a few nights before i saw a guy who tried to drive a small (400-500cc) chopper. it looked funny as hell, like a frog sitting on it, but it is also extremely dangerous if you can not drive it.
furthermore, the girls don't know what kind of bike you are driving since you don't bring it inside the disco, gogo or whatever and they don't care at all. payment is their first aim, also your looks and attitude. you will get laid even when you only use taxis, so hiring a big bike is only for the sole ego rather than for the girls. anyway, most guys like to show off, but many of them you will see a few days later coming from the hospital with bandages around their arms and legs. driving slow and calm imho is much cooler and harder than speeding up.
my advice regarding insurance : try to pay with your credit card. many credit cards include an insurance without any additional costs. if there was no accident till the end of the rental, request the credit card slip back and pay cash. you can't do that after an accident had occured, since the credit card company knows when the transfer number was requested.
at least, i hope it wasn't my chopper than made it work with the singaporean girls. i guess that my polite approach and my appearance did it instead of jumping on them like the french guys.
tourist girls who are out for fun want to be pleased and therefore looking for a mature guy rather than a few youngster who will use them for a few minutes.

hey, i actually couldn't agree more with you on this point! the girls really do get spoiled by their speedier customers. if you take a long time (anything over 15-20 minutes!) to come they tend not to like it. i'm often getting complaints of that type. and you're right, if they say anything during sex to hurry things along it totally spoils the mood. they also tend to be very unhappy to discover the customer is above average in endowment. but what can you expect, they're always just looking for the easiest money, so the smaller and quicker the customer the better.
this problem can be avoided if you look for girls who are more service oriented. those will never be the best looking girls, however, and the worst of all are go-go girls. performance and attitude are in inverse proportion to appearance!
