I have finally gotten JACKSON to add a section on the Ecuador board called salinas, that is for all you beach goers that were always PM me about all the hot non pro action going on in salinas so don't sit back and admire it post up, let us see how many people respond.

So where is Salinas geographically, for those of us who haven't yet been to Ecuador?
Salinas isn't too far from Guayaquil, about two hours or so by bus. I'm not really sure why there is a Salinas thread on here, but not a Manta thread, which is a much bigger city than Salinas. Anyways I've never been to Salinas, but if you go, post a report and let us know if there's any reason to visit. But I think Manta or Esmeraldas might be better cities for women, especially darker girls.
Season is just ending now, but last April I found a couple freebies just cruising along the beach by Hotel El Carruaje (where I stayed). Get a room with balcon and you can chat them up as they walk by or go in the small store next door.

Salinas, on the other hand, is HAPPENING. EASY to pick up non pros, even for a middle aged guy with average looks IF you look American. Season "temporada" is over but still fair bit of action on weekends (weekdays VERY deserted now) along the Malecon.
If no luck with amatuers, go to Las Cabanas del Amor (near the race track JUST as you enter Salinas by passing under the arch). If you hit Supermax you went too far. Ok just got back a few hours ago from Salinas. I had a pretty good time down there even though I'm not much of a beach person. Fair skin and south american beaches dont mix and i'm red as a lobster right now heh.
The first point I'll make about all the chongos I found and went to in Salinas is that there are none anywhere near the beach, they seem to be lumped into either the industrial district out by the Coca Cola plant (Amadeus boat 2, Via Lactea, Jupiter and 2 motels which i didnt check out but were told they were chongos) , or near the race track which is kind of in the middle of the lower class neighborhoods(La Cabana [opens 8pm], and 2 very low end chongos). From Malecon street, which is the main drag for the beach, its $5.00 one way to the first set and $2.00-$2.50 to La Cabana one way.
Arrived last wednesday and checked in at the hotel, which was right on the water. Took a walk and ran into a one-eyed guy who gave me a chongo card. The club was called Amadeus boat 2, which is out by Via Lactena. Its in the industrial district and you'll need to go by taxi to get there. Its under new ownership also now as advertised on the card. The club was very surprising to me. It reminds me of strip clubs back in the states with a main stage and poles, half circle plush lounge chairs and booths large enough to seat several people, red interior and multi-colored lights with latin music playing for the most part.
It was dead since when I got there it was about 8:30pm and they had just opened. They stay open from 8-2 or 3 in the morning from what I was told. I was there a few weeks ago for 1 night. The hotels and food are expensive compared to the rest of Ecuador. I stayed in a place on the main street along the beach for $24. The room had A/C, refridgerator, cable, etc.
Taxi drivers told me that Las Cabañas del Amor is the cheapest option in the area. After reading Mraughh's post, I wish I'd made it there.
Via Lactea (commonly referred to as Via Lac) is indeed out in an industrial district in between Salinas and La Libertad. It's much closer to La Libertad than Salinas, and all the chicas working here live in La Libertad. To get there from Salinas you'd take the main highway towards La Libertad and then take a left onto a rough gravel road a little ways before the huge cemetery on your left. Via Lactea is about a half a mile off the highway. A taxi ride from Salinas takes about 15 minutes and costs around $3.
There were 5 girls working the night I was there. Big Pilseners are $1. There is occasionally a girl that strips. As usual, there are small rooms around the main hall where you can impale a chica for $10-12. I spent most of my time there talking to Monica from Ibarra. Salinas is described as a beach resort town, however, only the area along the Malecon can be deemed as a beach resort area (the beach is constructed from the erosion of rocks and is gravely and hard) and this area is marginal. The rest of Salinas is third world undeveloped with mostly dirt roads, dilapidated houses and limited infrastructure and civil developments.
Due to time limitations, I found two options for transportation to Salinas from Guayaquil. One can take a bus for $10 or hire a taxi (through the hotel) which cost $80 one way. The bus terminal is located near the airport. The hotel clerk said the buses leave from the terminal regularly with the destination clearly marked on the bus. The bus ride takes two hours and stops in Libertad first then continues onto Salinas. I do not know where the bus drops off passengers in Salinas.
The taxi ride to Salinas takes about an hour and a half depending upon the driver. The travel time is impeded by traffic congestion in Guayaquil-getting out of the city took almost ½ hr. Once outside of the city it is open, paved highway. The scenery along the way reminded me of Arizona-open and barren. Interestingly there are no gas stations, convenient stores, restaurants and ,of course, no public restroom facilities along the highway.
My driver was fatigued and pulled over at one of the numerous little shacks along the road which turned out to be a convenient store/restaurant/bar/rest stop. He poured some water over his head to wake up and I offered to buy him a coffee or soda which he gladly accepted. I had a beer and my bill came to a dollar. The restroom was a three sided outhouse with some gravel on the ground. While we finished our drinks, a couple of locals stopped, sat down and ordered lunch. Back on the road again, we passed several buses and each one was clearly marked Salinas and they looked packed.
In Salinas I can highly recommend the Barcelo Colon Miramar and it is (P4P) female guest friendly. It is a modern high-rise located on the less busy end of the Malecon. During the off season I picked up a ocean view suite with a all inclusive package (free meals and drinks) including tax and service for $89.
Do not stay at the Calypso located just up the Malecon from the Barcelo. The rooms cost $78 and are dated. No key cards, no safe and no minibar or rather after four knocks and intrusions, the minbar arrived. The mattress, pillows and towels are about ten years old. I pulled the covers back to take a power nap and my skin started to crawl so I immediately checked out of the Calypso and into the Barcelo.
Some other hotels along the Malecon include, El Carruaje which has a restaurant with the same name (excellent food), The San Francisco and the Yulee. I don’t know if any of these are P4P female guest friendly.

located at av. Gral Enriquez Gallo y Ruminahui. about 1 block from the beach front. Yes girl friendly with no extra charge. Security guard out front at night. They have a pool, bar and restraunt on site. I dont know why they call it a hostal, its more like a motel than what i think of a hostal.
I was down in Salinas and Montanita for some surfing and business. I didnt have a chance to go back to Amadeus and the chongos located out by it but I did see they took the signs down off the main road there. Might be closed for good. I did hit up la cabana again. 2 chongos on the outskirts of Salinas I do not remember the road to get on so you are going to have to ask one is called "Estrella del Mar" and another one right next to it that does not have a name the one next "Estrella del Mar" the one with the green pain has some nice quality "Estrlla del Mar" has ugly girls but a nice view to the beach enjoy.

I'm headed to Salinas in about 2 weeks when a friend arrives from the states. There isn't much info posted here so I will post an update once I get back. I'm not sure how far it is to Salinas from Quito by bus as I've gotten varied reports. I will be traveling by way of Mindo/Los Bancos and then onto the beach side.
For people traveling to the coast from Quito, Mindo makes for a reasonable stop over. Mindo is an out-of-the-way (BAD dirt road for much of the way to Mindo once you're off the main highway) little town about 2 hours outside of Quito. It's best known for river rapids and ecological sites. Lots of backpackers, gringas and eco-tourists. There are only hostals in town there and they appear to be real hit and miss. I stayed in one there a few weeks ago and it was probably the best in the town. No A/C or t.v. though. I won't post the name as I'm returning there and I got to know the owners pretty well and I'm sure they probably wouldn't want their hostal's name posted here.

Don't stay at the Colon, it's a rip off at $100 a night.

I made a trip the Salinas this past week. Travel time from Quito was long. It took approx. 10 hours to travel from Los Bancos (1 1/2 hours outside of Quito, but on the route) to Salinas.
Traffic was very heavy and dangerous with people passing any chance they got (mountain passes, around curves, etc.). I can honestly say I won't drive that again. Will fly if I go back there. We were delayed 30 minutes while a fatal head-on traffic accident (car vs. bus) was cleared. Looked like the bus won.
As people have mentioned, road signs are hit and miss. You can go quite a ways sometimes with nothing. We get lost in the way back a few times. The way over we managed to get there ok.
Salinas (Malecon) offers a number of restaurant options. Most of them are smaller places with plastic chairs. Some are nicer.
We didn't get a chance to check out the nightclubs. We were there during the week and they were closed.
We did use jet skis and had a blast. We did it two different days. Jet skies are $20 per 30 minutes for up to 2 people (you're renting the machine, not paying for the # of people). A pair of sunglasses is a must as the salt water will otherwise take all the fun out of the riding.
I did get a quick glimpse at two chongos. One was called el raton and I didn't get the name of the other. Both are nothing more than girls standing in doorways while all the local guys drool and stare at them. Pricing was supposed to be $8 at the el raton. Both of them were about 5 minutes from the malecon.
For those interested, the bus station is off some side streets on the way into salinas near the mall. It was very hard to find and we had to ask for directions a few times. Had to drop a friend off there.
The mall offers a number of food options in the food court including KFC. It also has a movie theatre.
We stayed at the Sun Beach Hotel. It offers only rooms with one double and on single bed. All rooms are the same. Pricing for our stay was $29 per night including taxes. No issues with noise. Room was clean (my friend said his was a little dirty but nothing too major I don't believe). Hotel staff was friendly. Sun Beach is on the main highway on the way into Salinas (will be on the right side if headed toward the malecon). The hotel is girl friendly. Nothing overly special but gets the job done.

I didnt see any pros when I was there. Its a dirt road hippy town for surfing. Literally dirt roads. If you like hippies you might get lucky with one of the tourists. Salinas is close enough to Montanita to just go there for paid lovin.

In my opinion, there were the whole range of 6-8's. They only have 6-7 girls working (at least that I saw) in el raton. A few were pretty hot. They didn't seem overly friendly, however, I could understand that If I had 25 guys staring and drooling over me for hours on end.
I didn't get a good look at the girls in the second place. My friend went in for a quick look. I stayed outside.

The Taxi guys, said that it was just one Chongo open, and it was 10km outside Salinas the name was Barrio Veijo .

I have been to Salinas a lot. Best chance is drunk freebies during Carnival. They flirt and groped me on the street.
P4P action I cannot find anywhere. I looked for SW's, bars, or anything. Either it is a hidden or not around at all.

Traveled to Salinas four years ago to fish a couple of days and going back next month. Didn't partake in any of the girls because I didn't know where they were at. The last evening I was there a local offered to bring over 10 chicas for a looksy but I was tired from fishing and was leaving in the morning so no go. Thereis really only 2 establishments in Salinas a place called Via Lactea by a Coca-cola plant and another place called "La Capilla" which is very dirty and cheap. Hope this helps you guys find entretainment in the beach.

I was in Salinas not too long ago.
I had heard of a place called Techo Rojo on another site. It even showed up on google earth as Techo Rojo Nigh Club. I think they meant Night Club. Supposedly $8 chicas. It was not there anymore when I tried to find it.

The story is that there is only one Chongo in Salinas. Hard to figure as there seems to be a decent population in the area. I can't even give the address as there's no name on the 'street' its on.
If you search for dulce and deliciosa on google maps. It's on that street (in the same area as the fish market). About 6 girls. It's scruffy. As is the nature of these places.
I did do the deed with one. For 10 dollars.
The taxi driver wanted to take me to one 15 minutes away - but I said that was too far...in which case, he came up with this place. I'd imagine he wanted to maximise the fare. He said there were a lot of chongos in Santa Elena - just not in Salinas.

Thanks.The beach is open it has been open for months it has even been open during COVID, however, entertainment options are limited they were limited before COVID a lot of the clubs that exist now are done unless you go to playas and what not and then you have to deal with sketch neighborhoods there are no "casas" either.
This report is a bit late but good information. After spending some time in Guayaquil I decided to venture off to different venues Salinas being one of them. The bus ride was pleasant and I got a nice Airnb by Playa Molinas between Salinas and La Libertad. Took a cab to Zona Rosa for 3 bucks and the selection there is pleasant. The few days there I banged 6 putas at 15 bucks a shot. There are several attractions there two which I won't get into here but nice over all relaxing time there. I did get a haircut at a Dominican barber shop in La Libertad and when the cab dropped me off there were streetwalkers all over the place. If your at the corner of Calle 19 and 9 de Octubre opposite of the Malecon look up the hill and they are there. I found this by chance. This place I would visit again.
