Phones purchased in Thailand, sim card free or not, cannot be used outside of Thailand without a Thai sim card. That isn't true. I buy most of my handsets in BKK, and use them in UK and EU without any complications. I also use phones bought in UK in TH without any problems.

I always just throw in a new SIM and made my calls.

The phone I bought in Thailand I used in Vietnam. Just bought a sim (prepaid minutes of course for about 12usd including some minutes) and abba cadabra it worked perfectly in Vietnam.

Will it work all over? I have no clue because it uses different freq than in USA.

Not sure why we have different experiences, TIT ! I brought a second hand Nokia in the UK 6 mths ago and it wouldn't work with a Thai SIM till i had it unblocked, likewise a mate brought over a Siemens from germany (crap little phone) and same problem with that, i'm using the 1 2 call system if that is affecting my results ? Never tried the other networks.

MY Nokia from Vodaphone D2 in Germany had to be unlocked to use a Thai Sim,

I think most phones in Europe are supplied locked if they are for prepaid service. The phone company wants them locked so you cannot easily change phone companys, they probably lose money selling the cheap phones but plan on making it up on airtime fees.

Phones purchased in Thailand, sim card free or not, cannot be used outside of Thailand without a Thai sim card. Rhat's totally inaccurate. All cellphones bought in BKK can be used in anywhere.

My Thai GF uses her cellphone without any problem when we travel to Vietnam, HK, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia etc., etc.

Even my local cellphone can be used in these countries without any problem at all.

They 'block' the phone to stop people buying them here and then going home and popping a local sim card in. I have only heard about some cellphones bought in UK have to be unlocked or unblocked in order to be used in other countries.

Probably the phones that are purchased direct from DTAC, AIS, etc. But the phones I have gotten from vendors in MBK and places like that are already unlocked.

Ahhhh!!! Perhaps that is the difference. Mine is a Sony Ericsson 710. Previous phone was a Panasonic X-60. Both were pretty expensive full featured phones. I got them there before they came out here in the States(actually, I don't think the X-60 was ever released in the USA).

has anyone tried using a gprs or edge wireless card in thier laptop to connect to the internet using their dtac or ais sim cards? it seems like a waste of money if you can connect by dial up or find a wi-fi hotspot, but i've been thinking about working up north in a kind of remote area. dtac has an unlimited monthly data (gprs) deal for about 1200 bht.
if anyone has tried this i'd like to hear about it; i just got a sierra wireless 750 gprs triband card on ebay for about $40.00; i saw the same cards at pantip a couple of months ago for no less than 9500 bht.
my goal here is to be able to use the internet at a somewhat acceptable speed from anywhere in thailand without having to look for a hotspot or plug in somewhere. ideally i'd like to be able to use my laptop as a telephone by using skype and be able to make free international calls.
maybe i'm missing something, but it seems like it should work. here's what got me sort of thinking about it.

"edge thailand gprs cards connect you to the net and offer an average speed of 40-60kbs, allowing you to download files as fast as today's dial up modems."

sean, i'm a vonage.com softphone user and i know in speaking with vonage tech support i need at least 115 kbs's to handle the voice packets - your edge thailand is dial up speed - wouldn't work on vonage's voip. double check skype's speed requirements.

Here you go. There many others. The book was available on the author's website in .PDF for a long time, since he couldn't get a publisher. You might want to try and do an Internet search for it. I've got a copy, but it is too large to upload on this server and I've got questions about the current status of the copyright. The author made it freely available, but I would bet the publisher isn't thrilled about all of the copies bouncing around. It's a great read, though.

does anyone know if it is possible, and if yes, how to do this?

I want my Indonesian SIM card to work in LOS. In other words, I would like someone to be able to call my indo number, and it will ring my LOS number while I am in Thailand.

Can it be done ?

Coma Boy
10-20-05, 18:20
It can be done the other way round (Thai SIM abroad), so it makes sense that it can be done your way too.

I assume all you need to do is contact your service provider in Indonesia and they can make it happen.

It may also make a difference if you are on pre-pay rather than a contract.

But why do you need to do something so sneaky 1ball?

Can it be done ?If I understand you correctly, you want to enable 'call forwarding' on your Indo number, right?

All you have to do is determine if Indo service will let you set call forwarding to your Thai number, keeping in mind YOU are then paying for roaming on YOUR Indo number! I.E., I call your Indo number, you set it to forward to your Thai number, latter will ring but it will count as call from your Indo number to your Thai number.

Another way is to set voicemail on your Indo number, saying, 'Hi, I'm in LOS, call me at XXX-XXX'

it's not sneaky CB, it makes good sense sometime, for people to think you are in 1 place, while u r in fact..........in another.

I am on a prepay, go in and charge up the card.

BTW, I am going to try to beat you to the dare. Will be in SE Asia next week end, armed with my phone and remote control. (or banana, I don't know yet)

For some reason, the full copy isn't there any more (might be download size issues of bandwidth)

Just buy the book you cheap bastards! It is only 300 Baht or so.

Is it actually any good? I mean I'm sure it is nicely informative for newbies, but is it a good read for the rest of us? Most books of that genre I've seen have been dull as shit.

Tango-One by the same author was very fucking cool.

I read the book abt 3 years ago, and found it interesting. I had already been to BKK many times, but was not as jaded as I am now.

Give it a read CB, after all it is only 300 B. It is written in an interesting form, 1 chapter is in the words of the man, the next in the words of the woman, discussing the same incident. Then it moves on the another part of the story, again, in 2 chapters for each topic. So it is kind of a "he said, she said".

It certainly brought to light the cold calculated mind of the TG, until the guy pretty much goes off the deep end.

(if I remember correctly. It was 3 years ago, as stated above)

It gives the first 43 pages because it is now published and would take sales away from the paperpcak. It is intended to be like a trailer, make one interested enough, to go buy the book.

It is an interesting book, I found. Especially, if you have been to LOS for a few times, because one can relate tho things and places.

Appreciate if you can e-mail me your copy as I lost mine. Will send you a PM.

CB - well... define "good for the rest of us". The book presents a fictionalized account of how to lose your big head by thinking with the little head. It's what _I_ would consider a "must read" for every naive farang making an initial trip to LOS. (Assuming, of course, they haven't got a CLUE - and I've seen enough of THAT TYPE) For the expereinced, here, it amounts to "light reading" and perhaps a "confirmation" of what we might merely "suspect" the way the ladies "operate".

ASSUMING one doesn't wear blinders, it's "amusing" if somewhat tragic. As to value - nothing there that I didn't know before. I'm surprised it took this long for it to be "published". Personally, I like the electronic form better - takes up far less SPACE. I would have considered paying for it, but it does get a "bit" gothic in spots - merely reinforcement of what I knew (or at the very least suspected) before.

1ball - JADED? Maybe "I have other things to occupy part of my time" - but JADED? You don't believe anything the poo-ying say... (hello...welcome...hansum man...)

And as to LP - unless one is an absolute idiot, it makes a good geography guide. I tend to have "some"interest in the "seamier" side of life and LP is worthless as tits on a katoey for that kind of info. Hmmm maybe tits are more valuable on a katoey after all... <smirk>

RTFF first but couldn't find applicable FR or info.

I will be arriving in LOS circa 11/12 and I am planning on a 2-3 day trip to Pattaya first thing. As I am coming for about three weeks, I will have some luggage I would like to store rather than schlepp 2 big bags on the busses to Ekamai and Pattaya. I have used the Don Muang storage previously during long layovers/waits for flights but wonder if the new airport will have storage for multiple days or if there is another option.

New Airport,

There was little twist in that tale recently:
A couple of months ago they said that the airport was going to open on schedule AFTER they rescheduled the opening to July 2006.
Just a few weeks ago the BKK-Post reported that the airport would open on schedule in October 2006.
This is after all 'Amazing Thailand'
:)

Cwaynec,

Just read your post, hence the late edit...
By now you would have found out that the new airport isn't open yet.
I've left luggage at railwaystations at B10 a bag or at my hotel - often they store your luggage for free.

Maybe you have some special gear that you need to bring, but if not and you're just bringing clothes and stuff you might want to rethink your packing list. A lot of us come to Thailand for a month or so with just carry on just to avoid the schlepping.
The laundries at hotels and elsewhere are some of the best, fastest, and cheapest in the world.

I have been checking different escort agencies and pretty much every body is asking about 6000 bahts for ST.
I think this is way too much for BKK standards.

Nana and Cowboy Soi - barfines 500-700, ST 1000-1200, LT 1500-2000 (the top end of each is the MAX you should pay, don't mess up the market prices!)

Want a little more 'class', try Soi 33 but prices are higher, barfines 1000-1200, ST-LT anywhere from 2000-3000, depending on your looks, your moves, time of night, etc.

Can never go wrong (well, most of the time) with the MP, stay away from Cupidity, don't ask a taxi to introduce you to one

Soi 33 , any better lookings than Nana and cowboy????They 'dress' better (i.e. gowns, cowboy outfits), everyone has their own tastes. I've seen my share of 9/10's there, maybe slightly more than elsewhere, but what the fxxx, looks aren't entirely everything, right?

Soi 33 bars are quiet, everyone does their own thing and if you just want a quiet drink and not be bothered, girls will bugger off. I'm a regular only cuz been staying at Novotel Lotus on business for many years. If I have guests or business associates, take them to Nana and Cowboy Soi. Hey, if you've never been to LOS, gotta see and try them both, right? If I'm by myself and want quiet time, just as happy to wander over to Monet or some of the other bars, look for a cutie around 9 or 10 and take her right back.

any better lookings than Nana and Cowboy?Girls at escort agencies are a lot better looking than Nana girls.

Remember most Thai guys consider Nana girls ugly, and escort agencies mostly cater to the Thai market and so the quality of the girls is much higher.

But, if you're happy with an NEP girl then there is no point in paying extra for someone else's idea of what is beautiful.

Barfine first (unless it's a freelancer), then payment after. If you pay before, the service will most probably be no good. She got paid already, why should she perform? When you are negotiating the price beforehand, never offer her what she asks. Haggle it down. The best advice would be to tell her something like this: "I'll pay you more money if you service good, I'll pay you less money if you service bad." That way you can tip her according to her performance. She will try (in most cases) to please you to get a better tip.

What about money, before or after the deed in BKK.I think the first reply assumed freelancer or BG. If it is an escort the expectation is that you pay fee (to include taxi fare) up front upon escorts arrival to your hotel/apartment.

Just got back from Bangkok where I spent 8 nights at the Davis Bangkok Hotel, Sukumvit Soi 24. Great place, especially when they upgraded me to a Junior Suite with kitchen for the 3,000 baht per night rate I got from Asiarooms.com. Brought girls in three times and they just looked the other way. Only complaint is that you really need to hitch a ride on a motorcycle or the hotel's Tuk Tuk (every half hour) to get to the top of the Soi where the BTS is. Otherwise, there are plenty of cabs to get you where you are going.

This was my first trip to Bangkok. Due to the 17 hour flight to get there, it took me 5 nights to get over the jet lag. That being said, I still managed to enjoy myself. I'll skip the touristy stuff I did and get straight to what you want to hear. First day, went to Nana. First bar on the left heading down Soi 4. Don't know the name, but I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and great music during the day. I was supporting the drinking habits of 3 young birds and chatting up some Brits before taking one of the birds back to my hotel at about 4:00. She was a 23 year old farm girl named On. She was quite attractive and knew how to satisfy. Later that evening my buddy ST'd On's friend Mod, who was quite young looking and attractive. My friend really liked her. I thought she was a bit too much on the hustle for my taste. Anyway, both girls each charged 1,500 Baht ST and the bar fine was 500 each. Maybe we overpaid, but I was a newbie.

The next day I went back to the same bar on Soi 4 and reluctantly took the same girl back. I was hoping to find someone a little older and maybe a little thicker, but to no avail. This time On and I agreed on 2 hours for 1,500 baht, but as soon as I got out of the shower, my buddy called from the lobby of the hotel, so I quickly banged one out and sent her on her way.

Friday night I hit Soi Cowboy and was really blown away. The Soi is lit up in neon like a mini Las Vegas with young chics everywhere. My buddies and I went to a few places. One place had girls dancing upstairs which you could see through the Plexiglas floor, and girls dancing downstairs. One buddy grabbed a girl from there for ST who agreed to take it in the ass if he uses lotion. Sorry, I don't recall her name or number. I was not impressed with the place so my other buddy and I went to Raw Hide. I saw the best stage show at Raw Hide. Two extremely hot and slutty looking Thai chics doing some kind of S & M show. Really was entertaining and turned me on. Unfortunately, the girl that was sitting with me didn't smell right, so I split. Went to Nana again, this time to the 2nd floor where I saw another great stage show. Don't remember the name of the bar. It was hot and I was tired so we called it a night at about midnight and I went back to my hotel alone. I had already had plenty of sex that week as I picked up a freebie from Bali in between trips to Nana and Soi Cowboy. Or I should say she picked me up - on the Chao Praya exiting the commuter boat at Tha Tien.

My last day in Bangkok my buddy and I went to Poseidon. I was reluctant to go as I had already had plenty of sex that week and I knew that Poseidon was going to be expensive and disappointing. I was right. Girls on the left - 2,500 baht, girls on the right 3,000 baht, and in the middle 2,700 baht. I took Belle #102. A really cute spinner with a really tight body and a pretty face. The guy working the floor recommended someone else, but I just wasn't into her looks as I was Belle. So I knew Belle was going to be all show and no blow. She gave a good bath, and I am sure she thought she was providing good service, but the problem with her is she just doesn't seem to get off on sex (with me anyway). Her pussy is really tight, on the plus side, but it is angled towards behind her, so penetrating from missionary is tuff. I did get some moans out of her when I had her ankles over my shoulders and when I had her from behind, but the bottom line is she is just taking it like a trooper.

That’s it for the sexcapades. Here are a few tips for those who have never been to Bangkok: (1) avoid the Tuk Tuk drivers - they are on the Hustle; (2) wear loose fitting clothes and sandals - it is hot as hell there - expect to need to shower morning, noon and night; (3) feel free to eat on the street - it is the best food for the best price no matter that they don't seem to understand the concept of refrigerating meat. I never got so much as a stomach ache; (4) pay attention to where you are - cab drivers don't always know their way around town and sometimes get lost - but refuse to fess up to it; (5) you will need 500 baht for an airport tax after you pay the taxi to the airport and before you get on the plane.

So in conclusion, 8 nights and 7 days of having as much fun as I wanted and staying in a Jr. Suite at a 4 or 5 star hotel depending where you look cost me $1,700 US, including souvenirs but not including airfare. I definitely could have spent half that much by staying in a less expensive hotel and being a little less free with my money. Hope this has been helpful.

I was recently upgraded, thank you firedick for your letter of recommendation.

Actually I was hoping to obtain the "Senior Member Plastic". It is apparently even better than silver, gold or platinum status. For one, plastic never goes away....so I guess I am here for good.

Second, the new plastic membership is not only usefgul for my lifetime but you have two options for use in the afterlife. One, you can, if you are Buddhist, use the membership upon rebirth. The second option is to bequeath it to your offspring.

There is a hand's free dining establishment on Rama IV Road. This is where your hand's are free to to "feel away" as the ladies feed you. Similar to the "Bia om" in Vietnam but with food instead of beer.

Not sure if you eat off of a naked lady, although I have heard of "Japanese only" places like this.

The one I am thinking of lies between Robinson's on Silom and Wat Hua Lampong near the Payathai intersection.

I would rather be manhandled by a gaggle of LBs than to meet you. 300 questions in 20 minutes is not my idea of fun, coupled with the fact if I agreed to meet you, you would ask 50 questions in the forum about where this or that bar is, where you are to meet 1ball.

Gee, folks, maybe we should ask khon Jackson to put a lead message on the Thailand board that says "If you are "new" - go READ the FAQ section first and learn how to look up (search for) previous responses"

PERSONALLY, I don't get so upset with newbie questions except when they IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW the same question by a DIFFERENT newbie or are so ABSURDLY SIMPLE that the answer is either obvious or the asker is totally OBLIVIOUS. (Then - well...DUH!)

I know that even I have occassionally (not too often, for sure) asked the innocently stupid question somewhere on the forum (I remember asking what "RCA" meant, for instance) - not because I didn't WANT to look for it, but because I didn't REMEMBER ever seeing the answer (and I DO read most of this).

Either that or we seem to need a pissing contest every now and then...

Run Mann

Dinghy,

Excellent observations! The best way to handle stupid (relative phrase) questions is to not answer them. Answering these type of questions as they invariable all seem to get callously and un-couthly answered here highlights the questions even more.

I have this theory that some of these questions, especially from the posters with one or two posts are from seasoned/past/banned/current members, who may just being yanking the chains of the “proverbial guard-dogs,” then sitting back and enjoying the commotion they caused.

There are some threads where poster's questions are ignored and the posters gets the message and move on. Excoriating people on this board with RTFF has been done for years but it doesn't seem to be an effective deterrent. Protectors of the board, if you are interesting in eliminating the “dumb question syndrome” try the ignoring approach because what you’re doing obviously isn’t working.

Hard to give an accurate answer, it depends how often you are going to punt and where you are going to find your girls, go-go's will set you back more money because of bar fines and ladydrinks. Don't know about US dollars but in real money I would say 50 pounds a day will get you into plenty of mischief.

If he paid the hotel for a month, then he wasted his money. And lady drinks cost more than your regular drinks. Even if you pay $100 per day for hotel, and $100 for the extracirricular activities you would have a great time for less than him.

The one I am thinking of lies between Robinson's on Silom and Wat Hua Lampong near the Payathai intersection. The name is "No Hand Restaurant" and it is on Rama IV, between Surawong and Si Phraya. It is part of the Galaxy Entertainment Complex and you can see it from the Rama IV flyover (look for the "Galaxy" neon sign).

I was there once with a friend, four years ago. You are taken, with your party, to your private japanese-style room (you can see the rooms on their web site – address below) and each is assigned an hostess who will feed you while you fondle her through her long silk dress - that's it! As we were trying to be somewhat adventurous we were quoted absurd prices for extras. This, and the proximity to Thanon Kaniya rather suggested that this is a place for East-Asians. At least the food was OK, but that's not what's on your mind, or is it? Our total bill was around 4.000 B if I remember correctly.

Never got a chance to visit the old Thermae. Just read (much) about it. It seemed like a sort of "magical" place. Kind of like a unique place in the entire world. A sort of "hole in the wall where everybody goes". Now, Thermae is almost like everyplace else. It's still a bit unique, but it doesn't seem so special, at least to me. Changed cash at the airport and set off for a taxi. Hardly any queue and our man was so eager to save juice he pushed his taxi to the start line. He whipped open the boot to reveal a LPG tank that took up half the boot (trunk). He must have been a removal man in a former life as he managed to fit 2 cases 2 hand luggage two sets of golf bats and 2 falangs in the taxi. Off we sped to the Nana Hotel.

Our first beer was in the Nana Coffee Shop after we had checked in. Again they were expecting us and our rooms were fine for the one night stop. The Coffee shop had a collection of older ladies keen to hook newcomers before the real talent turned up. A largish lady asked if she could join us and rapidly went into her sales pitch. So if you fancy an older fat lady who says she deep throats and despite being fat has a tight pussy you know where to find one. I cannot vouch for her skills but she was correct about being fat.

We moved to the Nana Beer Bar had a meal at the Food Court on Soi 7 and onto the Beer Garden before trying Angelwitch and Rainbow 4. What surprised me that since my last trip all the girls Beer bar or GoGo had got into the price fixing business. I assume it’s the BHU Bangkok Hookers Union. Every one quoted me 3000 LT. I did eventually get a discount down to 1500 but it pissed me off and I declined.

I took one from the car park and got serviced twice before I signed her release form and slept up to 8am.

Friday

Had a cracking breakfast and did the deal for a large taxi to Pattaya. This time all our luggage went in the boot!

We arrived at the Flipper Lodge at noon and we went to Walking St to the Covent Garden Complex to see how Rolling Stone Two was progressing. Utter chaos as furniture was being delivered cleaning up everywhere. Noi confirmed ‘open tonight’. So my mission was to be the first to ring the bell, which incidentally had not been hung yet.

We went to Welkom Inn for lunch and then inside to the bar. The ladies have a wonderful technique of coming up to you fondling your bits and making a sales pitch. I got several interesting offers but declined and after taking a couple of breaths a new lady moved in. My mate was hooked by the sales pitch of the first lady and shot off to the room. He told me later she delivered in full.

I decided to save myself for the evening and caught a baht bus to Soi 8 and settled in to the Cherry Bar as the skies darkened. Hammer duly turned up and we had a couple of beers together. At the end of the bar and Aussie Customer was sitting under a brolly sheltering from the rain.

That night we started off at Love Joys Bar then down to Walking Street to ring that bloody bell. As we approached Gary was looking the other way and the bell was duly rung. Girls raced back to the bar for the drink interrupting their meals etc. Gary was a bit narked as his plan was to wait until I got a couple of yards from the counter and he was going to ring it first to thwart me.

We had a meal at Nang Nual and hit FLB and Rolling Stone One. Before I new where we were it was midnight and I was knackered and a little bit pissed. I made my excuses and left. I popped into a Gogo to try and track down a friend but she had retired. So I decided to do the same. A couple of yards from the Flipper I heard the plaintive cry of Jaime and I was lured by an old friend to her bar. She arrived after I had left but was told a falang asked for you and gave out candies. Jaime is back and I was hooked.

Saturday

It appears I got to bed at 5am rat arsed. So much for an early night. The cleaners had to wake me at 3.30 pm to clean the room. I made breakfast just 8 hours after my mate.

Had a drink and a few games at the Cherry Bar even won twice at 3D Connect 4 until she got the hang of it. At 6 that night booze was off the menu because of an election. They hadn’t heard about it at the Green Bottle and we were able to booze and watch the Premiership on the big screen. Back in Soi 8 it was like a Gogo when the police are coming all the naked ones vanish and the bikini ones appear as if by magic. Only this time it was the booze that disappeared from the bar tops. Other bars stuffed glasses in the beer coolers and kept topping you up from the bottles under the counter.

Sunday

Up at 10am and breakfasted at the Pig and Whistle then back to the room for a mans breakfast. We then went to Jomtiem fishing Park where we caught three between us and of course N took the money with the biggest fish.

At the next peg were 2 Jocks who were going home that night and had the theory that fishing was good preparation for the flights as they wouldn’t get pissed fishing. Not sure how the theory failed because they were back fishing on Thursday.

That night we ate at Vientianne on Walking Street which was excellent. Visits to Rolling Stone 1 and 2 and Love Joys where I rang the bell.

Phuquer,
The old Thermae was sort of a "magical place," and its one of my fondest memories of a misspent youth in Bangkok. In truth though it was really sort of a dump, down the alley, down the stairs, into a time warp.

I wonder if they hadn't moved it would still be what it was like? I doubt
it, Bangkok's changed a lot. There are tons more expats and tourists and the new closing hours have made it just another sort of spot for certain types of freelancers rather than the de facto 3:00 or 4:00am smoke filled haunt where anything could happen.

I think Christopher Moore sort of over romanticized the old Thermae in books like "A Killing Smile," but it was a really unique place. It was the kind of place where some nights spent there were amazing and other nights you just wanted to leave as soon as you could. Maybe this says more about me than the old Thermae, but I get somewhat of the same feeling at the Biergarten at times.

One thing that hasn't changed since the Thermae moved is the waiters,
they're mostly the same guys who worked there 15 or more years ago. Same with that fat mamasan or whatever she is whose face is now as big as a watermelon.

Cheers,
Sean

For freelancers, the only alternative was the coffee shop of the Grace Hotel. In the late seventies / early eighties, this was still a nice place. No pool tables at the time, but they provided chess boards (I recently found a picture of myself and my best mate engaged in queen's gambit with thai cuties kibbitzing on our laps). And the Grace Hotel disco was considered by many as the best place in town for freebies. Then the Arabs moved in, and falangs retreated to the Old Thermae.

I frequent Soi 33 but not familiar with the Office.

Go to http://bangkokbob.net/soi33.html for more information on all the bars on Soi 33. Typical barfine is B$1300, ST B$2000, LT B$3000 but you can use your charms to negotiate down.

My buddy got great gal at Monet for LT, but had to wait till 12 midnight to close the deal and get a 'discount'. And believe it or not, not every girl will go to your room....he liked another babe but she refused to go out except 'dancing, etc.'

Most of the bars will let you order out for food from pizza and other restaurants on Soi 33. Nice bars for quiet drink - girls aren't pushy.....very different from Nana and Cowboy Soi!

Good luck

Walking down the stairs of memory lane and flooded floors in the old Thermae. It was a dark, mouldy, and full of friggin character kind of place....not to mention sticky germ laden booths with cheesy pleather seats and a juke box. It was as if shady deals were ongoing and one could feel the atmoshphere of the kind of sketchiness that when on during the Second Indonchina War and the GI's in the LOS.

The new Thermae had a little bit of that penache for the first few years of existence. I'll admit to disagreeing with the bright lights and the interior decoration of the new place but it still had a juke box and pretty much the same bird pool and the occasional fight or broken bottle altercation started by English pub crawlers being competitive and possessive about the talent. All that remains now is but a name as the charm has since faded away in the AT (after PM Toxin) period.

You pay 2,760 baht for a new SIM card, it comes loaded with only 600 baht of talk time, so your purchase costs you $2.56 per minute for calls to the U.S., and $0.46 per minute for calls inside Thailand.

The Refill costs 960 baht and gives you only 500 baht of talk time, so your refill costs you $1.06 per minute for calls to the U.S., and $0.19 per minute for calls inside Thailand.

The SIM Card expires if inactive for 90 days, so you have to pony-up for a new SIM Card each time you go back to Thailand.

Program is better than my current T-Mobile terms, $1.49 per minute, but only after the first half-hour of talk time back to the U.S.

Can anyone confirm or correct my numbers?

Plus, they don't expire after 90 days.

Cowboy,

I don't know about your numbers but email is a hell of a lot cheaper.
Also calling abroad from cellphones rented per minute out on the street can be as cheap as B10/min ($0.25), highest B30/min ($0.75). Domestic calls are just B2 or B3.
Imagine the number of minutes you can be on the phone before the bill gets up to B2,500!

Cowboy,

I don't know about 1-2 Call so maybe your numbers are correct,

whatever, its not a good deal.

If you already have a Thai cell phone just buy a 200 baht DTAC SIM

card and top it up whenever you want with 200 baht scratch cards that you

can buy at 7/11 or wherever. Unless its changed in the last month you can

call within Thailand for 1 baht per minute.

As for calling the US go to 7/11 again and buy a Phonenet card in

200 baht or higher denominations. The Phonenet cards give you a local

number and a PIN number. Dial the local mumber, follow with your PIN, and

then dial the US number. The rate is about 6 baht per minute plus the 1

baht on the DTAC SIM. Its really very easy.

The DTAC SIM will not expire after 90 days if you top it up enough. MY

experience with DTAC has been good in Bangkok, but its kind of spotty in

remote areas.

Sean

Tony,

Yes you can rent a phone in BKK for a few days, but why bother.

Just go to MBK and buy a cheap one and a cheap SIM card. You can

set yourself up for $35.00.

Are you going to ask me what MBK is?

sean_double, freeler and coma boy - thank you for all of your great and very helpful input - myself and a few friends land bkk nov 18th - dec 18th

my math came directly from 1-2's web site and i agree with all of you that this is not the way to go - the 200 baht dtac sim looks like the best option!

another great new product for eveyone, jsut came out, order on amazon.com for $29.00 - voicestick.com - great new thumb drive with voip.

for those of you that don't need a computer while traveling, pop this thumb dirve into any usb port at any high speed interent cafe, don your dhs 400 plantronic headset with noise canceling and make calls back to the us/canada for free - voip.

personally i need my computer and will be traveing with vonage.com -

I just bought one of these Voice Sticks this week to use in my travels. I have not had good results with this. Maybe yours will turn out better. I actually plan on returning my to the store because it would not work. Also you need to look close at the fine print. There are cost if calling to cities not listed in the main cities. Not to mention some internet cafes in the LOS will not have a USB port or a PC that will even allow you to connect something to it. Even with that said think about the bandwith problems you have when in a internet cafe. I think this type of phone will be best used with your own PC and in an upscale Hotel in LOS.

Just my 2 cents worth on this.
Happy Mongering,
Rob

I use 1-2 call, pay as you go, you can use the 007 or 009 prefix instead of the 001 prefix for international calls, It normally charges me about 8 baht a minute to the UK, just 11pence a minute or 20 cents, a lot cheaper than most other stuff and no messing around dialing a million and one numbers and pin codes using the Int'l calling cards. Don't know US rates but can't see it being a big difference.

Meaty,

My experience with the cheap call prefixes hasn't been very good with

DTAC and my girlfriend's 1-2 Call line always rings busy when she dials 007 or

009.

Its no big deal to program the phonenet number into your phone

bacause its always the same number so you really only need to type in a few

extra digits.

Meaty's right though, its another good alternative. The phonenet cards

wind up saving about 1 baht a minute over the cheap call prefixes on calls to

the US.

Hopefully we're not in Thailand to be on the phone to the US or UK all the

time. I'd like to throw my phone in a klong if it didn't make mongering so much

easier.

walking down the stairs of memory lane and flooded floors in the old thermae. it was a dark, mouldy, and full of friggin character kind of place....not to mention sticky germ laden booths with cheesy pleather seats and a juke box. it was as if shady deals were ongoing and one could feel the atmoshphere of the kind of sketchiness that when on during the second indonchina war and the gi's in the los.

the new thermae had a little bit of that penache for the first few years of existence. i'll admit to disagreeing with the bright lights and the interior decoration of the new place but it still had a juke box and pretty much the same bird pool and the occasional fight or broken bottle altercation started by english pub crawlers being competitive and possessive about the talent. all that remains now is but a name as the charm has since faded away in the at (after pm toxin) period.i took a wonderful freelancer from the old thermae, she cried when i left. we had some sanuk, fellas! she was noisy as hell. thought we'd get kicked out.

i was walking through thermae and she ran up to me, as she had recognized me from going with her friend l/t.

thermae was dark and my head was turning like a dog crossing sukhumvit in rush hour. so many cuties.

why does someone always have to [CodeWord134] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord134) in the pool? where is the new thermae and when does it close? will they let me in the back, by the wc?

I've been to BKK 6 times, but this was my first time during the 'high' season (early November is at least 'nearly' high season). I usually go in the low, quiet, season of July & August. It is amazing what difference a couple of months makes !

BKK was much busier, many more farangs around, both hobbyists and non-hobbyists. Sukhumvit & her venerable Sois were much more packed, there were more providers and the go-go bars were much busier. I've got to say I didn't like it half as much as I do in the low season. Reasons:

1) Providers.

There were more girls in bars and on the street. So a greater range to choose from, but there's loads in the low season, so no real advantage there. If anything, the increase was not at the top end of the market anyway, there seemed to be more grumpy plain Janes around than in the summer. As there were many more guys around the girls just didn't have to work as hard. I didn't get the attention that I usually get and had to 'wait in line' at Biergarten etc to get the best lookers.
The increase in girls seemed to be not such good quality ones. I got really sick and bored of BG's with v.limited English. After the usual "where you from?", "how old are you ?" they all seem to go into this veneration of Thailand -"Thailand No.1 Country in world", "Thailand best, no?" etc etc. NO Thailand is NOT the best country in the world ! Have these girls ever been anywhere else, experienced anything else ? No, on all accounts. How come some woman who has to leave her village, come to BKK, lives in a hovel and resort to selling her body for very little money think that she lives in the best country in the world ?

I know, they're just making the best small talk they can in English and if I want better conversation I should learn Thai !

2. Farangs in the Suk Ghetto.

There were many many more guys around. I popped down to NEP & Soi 4 early Sat eve. Day-Night, Golden & Hillary's I, II & III were all heavng. However, I just didn't meet the fascinating characters that I've met here in the summer. I met lots of very drunk guys acting like oafs. Now, I can also fall into this category at times, so please forgive any impression of superiority. It's just that soi 4 felt like a British provincial town on a Fri / Sat night. In the summer I've met some great characters kicking their heels in BKK.
Anyway, I know I should avoid Soi 4, I've always loved the late street beer scene around Soi 11 - 13, about 2-4am. This time however, this scene seemed to be dominated by the alcoholic, the mad, those with a tendency to violence, and fewer providers. It didn't have the chilled out, 'lets talk crap & drink till the sun rises' feel that I've experienced in the past.

3. Go-go Bars.

I still find the go-go bars entertaining for early evening fun (I'm a tourist), I prefer Cowboy to NEP. I found most of the bars full 8pm-midnight on Sat. So, nowhere near as much attention as in the Summer. Baccara was rammed full of Japanese / Koreans, so as a Westerner, I was ignored. Spice Girls was less full & I got a lot more attention, however it's the mamasam I like most in there, and she wasn't available ! The DollsHouse, was the best fun, by far. Fewer guy's in there (or just bigger venue) - great atmosphere - the English manager is a very funny guy & makes sure that everyone is enjoying themselves.
The best thing about the DH is the layout. Choose yourself a cutey & pick a seat at the back, furthest away from the stage. Buy her a drink and now you can really start having fun. The secluded seating means that wandering hands are hidden from view. The girls always get straight down to it, rubbing the old man etc. The one I was with last night put her hand right inside my pants and as she had no pants on it was not too difficult to reciprocate the digital manipulation !

Small note - it's v.good to see the 'improvement in the quality' of shows on Cowboy.

I know I sound bitter, and it wasn't like I had a bad trip (see field report in BKK Reports 2005 section). One 'not so good' trip out of seven shouldn't surprise, but the trip just didn't live up to expectations.

Reading your FR (2005 Reports) it seems you had a good time after all. Not having it 'live up to expectations' is probably because you have been in BKK many times. I am not sure but what did you really expect, now that you are used to the scene.

For me it is the same experience. Been there, done that. Expectations are to have a good and decent fucks and massages. What is there after that except for other extracirricular activities anyway.

I find that traveling alone is not fun anymore. Having some good company (thanks to Poster and his GF on my last trip) always makes it for better experience. I am sure if you go with a friend next time you would have a much better time.

Going there in a month and raring to live up to expectations.

I reckon we'll still be together when you arrive next month. We'll definitely have to drink a scotch or three, have a chat, and oh yes, it's my turn to buy you a clam. Just remember, you can have any clam but my clam, unless of course she decides she isn't my clam. :)

Fly, I think your best bet is for every TG you go with who is worth seeing again, keep her phone number. then when things like the king's bday or other fun stopping dates occur, pick up the phone, and order take out.

Sorry, don't know if places close down during Magha Bucha, but the above should work for you if they do.

When living in Thailand (the beloved land of smiles, the land of infinite wisdom, the land most admired and envied, it is the land all men with a penis desire to live, because these men all share the distinct and singular desire to keep their powder dry and their sanity intact while at the same time immersing their gluttonous cocks in the never ending supply of the sweet-soft-and-always-open-warm-fleshy phenomenon known as Thai pussy) it is a good idea to keep a call list of service providers that never fail to satisfy for the reason 1ball suggests.

Another good reason for keeping a call list (at least for me) is a matter of convenience. For each of the Poor Saps (like myself) that move to the Land of Smiles, there is a given period of time (different for each individual) such that once this given period of time has elapsed, scouting for a new skank each and every night becomes a rather dull affair.

There are many reasons for this but for me the number one reason is the hit-and-miss nature of provider selection. I simply don't like the discovery of a new provider that will not and/or can not provide me with the pay-4-play experience I desire. I think even the most infrequent of mongerers can empathize with me concerning the inevitability of contracting for services which once rendered are at best unsatisfactory and at worst a nightmaric experience.

The bottom line concerning us Poor Saps, and every person on this planet for that matter is that one can look for heaven in every nook and cranny of the globe and never find it until at last, after much pain and agony, and a hell of a lot of luck, the Poor Sap chances a glimpse of the heavenly lights thus realizing the futility of his outward journey he reverses his course and follows the path that leads within.

Perhaps my last thought was a bit too reflective, but the concept of a service provider phone list is a valid one whether ye be a Poor Sap or a Holiday Hole Shooter.

Poster,

Yes, as Duniawala says, an excellent post. As it happens, I find myself in exactly that funk you describe: I've been out twice this week with a couple of guys in from Iraq, and while I've had a reasonably good time wandering from place to place window shopping and drinking, I just haven't seen anything that interesting - certainly nothing I was willing to roll the dice on.

Well, there was this one FL from ChiangMai I met at one of those street-side after hours bars on Sumkumvit near Asoke station, but at 2K for ST... heh, she wasn't that interesting.

I've come to know a manager at one of the clubs in Soi Cowboy, and while she's nice, undemanding and convenient, I'd have to admit she is definitely a Plan B strategy at best.

Maybe I need to find some different places to hang out. I seem to prefer FLs and have my favorite hangouts in Beijing and Taipei (in fact, have had excellent luck with freebies in Taipei). But where to go in BKK?

I'm off to SIN for a few days - a very odd place for me: I meet a Thai there and think I could have the same in LOS for much less; I meet a PRC, and think I could have the same in Beijing (or especially Wuhan or Chengdu) for less; after a whle I wonder why I even bother in SIN?

OK, sorry for the tangent.... back to the regularly scheduled programming.

seems this given period of time has elapsed for me. so i use my list for when i visit singapore, thailand and vietnam. even to the point of flying one or another from bangkok or vietnam to singapore to spend a few days or a week with me.

the girls start to know that they've made the list, and life gets easier and even more enjoyable at times. i don't save any money this way, even though the odd freebie happens, but i know exactly what i am getting. and the girls know exactly my speed, and what i like.

i recall the first trips to vn, singapore and thailand, just about out of control (ok, completly out of control), not able to say no to the first young thing to put her hand on my dick. progressed to becoming quite choosy now, and taking the trouble to note the good ones.

now i just have to keep my head straight and not get any more hooked up, beyond service providing...

Economy Thailand
Economy - overview: Thailand has a well developed infrastructure, a free-enterprise economy, and welcomes foreign investment. Thailand has fully recovered from the 1997-98 Asian Financial Crisis and was one of East Asia's best performers in 2002-04. Increased consumption and investment spending and strong export growth pushed GDP growth up to 6.9% in 2003 and 6.1% in 2004 despite a sluggish global economy. The highly popular government's expansionist policy, including major support of village economic development, has raised concerns about fiscal discipline and the health of financial institutions. Bangkok has pursued preferential trade agreements with a variety of partners in an effort to boost exports and maintain high growth, and in 2004 began negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement with the US. In late December 2004, a major tsunami took 8,500 lives in Thailand and caused massive destruction of property in the southern provinces of Krabi, Phangnga, and Phuket.

Transvestites Hoodwink Tourists With Kiss

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - Thai transvestites are often pretty enough to fool tourists and expatriates into taking them home for the night, but the unwary foreign visitor risks losing his wallet as well as his pride, Thai police warned Monday.

Members of a transvestite gang have confessed to concealing strong sedative pills under their tongues and spitting them down the throats of their victims while kissing, causing them to pass out so they can be easily robbed, police said.

The confession came from three attractive transvestites arrested last week in Bangkok for stealing more than $7,300 in cash and valuables from a Bangladeshi businessman, said police Lt. Col. Akachai Chaicharoen.

The transvestites, fashionably dressed for a night out on the town, approached their victim in a downtown Bangkok nightclub on Nov. 7 and he invited them all back to his apartment.

The victim told police that after they arrived there he kissed one of them, then felt dizzy and passed out, and woke up ten hours later to find that his cash, watch, mobile phone and notebook computer had disappeared.

``One of the suspects confessed to investigators that she concealed a tranquilizer tablet under her tongue and spat it into the mouth of her victim while they were kissing deeply. The victim quickly passed out,'' Akachai said.

He said the three had confessed to employing such methods on several victims.

Because tourists have sometimes been drugged and robbed by friendly strangers, police have long warned tourists against accepting food or drink from people they don't know.

``But now we are adding one more warning for tourists: don't rush to kiss a stranger on the mouth or you will end up in a deep sleep,'' Akachai said.

Several years ago, members of another transvestite gang in the eastern seaside resort city of Pattaya admitted they applied strong tranquilizers to their nipples in order to drug and then steal from unsuspecting men.

The latest suspects are being held pending formal charges, and could face up to six years in jail each for conspiracy to rob, police said.

That is so funny, and quite a good scam, although I wonder how many ladyboys fell asleep by mistake.

That is exactly what happened to 1ball on his last trip, although instead of waking up to find his money stolen, he woke with a stomach full of semen.

Dear I Jag,

I did not bother to reply to your post because I couldn't figure out its relevency. Probably because it was such a general question. After thinking about this fact, I recall my feelings about going abroad for the first time and I was also full of timid general questions.

If this is your first time (as it appears) to travel outside your mother country then you'd be wise to warn your audience of this so that the jaded old-timers like myself have reason to take pity on you. Now that I am aware of your newbie status I can give you some advice.

WHERE TO STAY

1) Stay at the Majestic Hotel and Book through their website. After you have booked your ticket print the small map and instructions for the Taxi driver (written in Thai). http://www.majesticsuites.com/location.html The other good reason to stay here is because you can't miss the action, even if you are deaf, blind, and dumb.

2) If you chose to stay elsewhere, I advise you to find similiar instructions that are also written in Thai

3) If you can't find instructions written in Thai then book at a ridiculously expensive hotel that every taxi driver is sure to know.

MONEY

1) Take some cash in case you lose your ATM cards and your credit cards

2) Take two ATM cards from different banks. Keep one in your wallet and the other in your toiletries. Transfer the ATM in your toiletries to the safe in your room upon arrival.

3) Take two credit cards and handle them just as your ATMS

RTFF

Read the forum and as many other sources of information as possible

QUESTIONS

1) Ask as many questions as you want on ISG, but I advise that you explain your newbie status and why you are asking the question as well.

ATTITUDE

Take Traveler's advice and stay calm. If you lose your cool in Thailand and speak to the Thai people in a hot headed manner (as you spoke to Duni), you will find that it may take days (or even weeks) before someone will help you. Instead, stay cool and smile a lot! Smile until it hurts my friend. Thai people like to help those that know how to smile.

Now go enjoy yourself and stop whining! Nobody likes a whiner.

Between the skytrain, subway and water busses. you can get almost anywhere using public transportation. Even if you're not interested in Buddhism it is worth it to visit the Buddhist temples. There is much more to Bangkok than sex and alcohol.

There is a place on soi 4 (soi nana) few doors down the Nana Hotel in BKK, Sukhumvit area, where there is an "Internet Cafe" open, I think, 24 hours, it is $5 an hour. Hell! the most I have paid in So East Asia was from $0.50 to $0.75.

There is another place on the 6th floor of the building that used to be called "Trade Certer". It has a different name now, I think it is called "Certer World" or something similar. There must around one hundred latest model computers por anyone to surf the web.

I am told this service is provided by the local goverment. It is 30bht an hour,$0.75. I was asked by the attendant, ..."are you over 60?" I said yes! then it is free, the attendant said. Every time I visit this place I get to surf the web for two hours for free.

They never checked my ID, I suppose you just have to look you are over 60!

There is a place on soi 4 (soi nana) few doors down the Nana Hotel in BKK, Sukhumvit area, where there is an "Internet Cafe" open, I think, 24 hours, it is $5 an hour. This place is across the street from the Dynasty Hotel and is a rip-off based on location. Walk down the street a little bit to a place across from the 7-11 called "Ticket & Tour". It's open until 4 a.m. and is 1-baht per minute. I'm there sometimes in the later hours if I'm near Sukumvit and know some of the staff.

This is probably the best place in Sukumvit area after midnight. There are also some really cheap places in the Ekamai area (if you ever happen to be out there).

Free Internet

There are some bars, pubs, and hotels that offer free internet, but usually have a sign asking you to be considerate with the time duration.

Gulliver's on Soi 5 and Khaw Sarn Road have some free internet terminals. If you use the net here, it should be for quick-checking only. Please be considerate and observe the 15-minute time limit.

Internet Cafe's

The places I use internet (during normal business hours) are MBK, 7th floor. There's a place called WARP that's 30-Baht per hour (30-baht for 2 hours after 9 or 10 p.m., I forget which) and it's open until 1:00 a.m. The good thing about WARP is you buy a ticket and you can log in and out. WARP offers the option to purchase a 120-Baht coupon for 100 Baht, which sometimes lasts me about a week, depending upon usage. This place also has Microsoft Office is you need to update spreadsheets and word docs. On weekends during the afternoon, this place tends to be jammed with kids playing games.

There are two other internet places nearby on the 7th floor, but I forget the names. Another place nearby is 15 baht for 1/2 hour, there after, pro-rated at the same rate (1 baht for every two minutes)
I think it is called "Certer World" or something similar ... I am told this service is provided by the local goverment. It is 30bht an hour,$0.75.This is actually a community education center. A student at the university informed me about this place as it's also a library to study at on weekends.
I was asked by the attendant, ..."are you over 60?" I said yes! then it is free ... Every time I visit this place I get to surf the web for two hours for free.

I suppose you just have to look you are over 60!As mentioned above, this is a educational community center here to benefit children and the community. If for some reason they offer a discount for seniors, I'm suprised they extend that to foreigners. In fact, when I was there and used the internet once, there as a higher rate for non-Thai. Regardless, in my opinion it's best to pay the 30-baht, or whatever it is, to support the center.

Finnish man jailed for molesting hundreds of Thai boys

Helsinki (dpa) - A Finnish court sentenced a 43-year-old man on Friday to 11 years' imprisonment for sexually molesting scores of young boys in Thailand in the largest case of its kind.

The Kouvola district court in southeastern Finland found the man guilty of more than 160 sexual crimes, most of victims were 12 to 13 years old. One case of sexual assault occurred in Finland.

During the investigation, police found a journal and videotapes where he documented his assaults of boys aged 10-13.

The 43-year-old was arrested at Helsinki airport in mid-January after his latest visit to Thailand. Police said he had made 25 trips to Thailand between 1989 and 2004.

Finnish police were alerted about him by police in Belgium after he downloaded child pornography from a Belgian man, and then distributed the material in Finland.

The man was alleged to have molested hundreds of boys, but not all cases were tried owing to the statute of limitations.

There is an Internet Cafe on Ratchadamri that has indoor and outdoor connections for 30 Baht per hour. Take the SkyTrain (BTS) to Chitlom and then walk to the Big C (on Ratchadamri) across the street from Central World Plaza (previously named World Trade Center for those with older Lonely Planet Guides).

After you've located the Big C then continue to the 7-11 next to (just past or just to the left of) Big C. The internet cafe is next to this 7-11 and you can order Coffee or beer and I'm pretty sure they have food as well. I go there because of the coffee and beer and the outdoor workstations as I like to smoke when I'm surfing.

Her name was Pat and she was short, cute, no baby.
After completing my interview i thought i had all bases covered.
The only red flag i had was that she was silent and complained a bit about walking. Other than that everything went on as usual.
She showered then i showered. Then my towel clad girl was sitting on the sofa lifeless and requesting to turn off the lights to which an ensueing debate took
place. She continued to be lifeless and then started to say hurry up.
Hurry up hell we haven't even started. That was enough for me to realise
this was not going to be enjoyable but rather an ongoing battle.
It was obvious that the interview failed due to a lier and manipulater to
which my responce is to send her out immediatly and when she realised i
was serious she went out. Out of courtesy i gave her 100THB.

I do tour services mainly for Newbies and I have also helped guys

Happy birthday to HM the King of Thailand!

This is what HM the King told PM Shina:

<<"His Majesty the King told Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra yesterday to be open to criticism and not to overreact when countering his critics. In a traditionally light-hearted, informal address to the cabinet, politicians and senior government officials marking his 78th birthday today, the King said the prime minister should stop responding to his critics on a daily basis.

The King did not go into detail, but said the distribution of DVDs and frequent television broadcasts to defend the prime minister had bored viewers, who preferred watching soap operas.

``The prime minister is taught by the law to counter criticism with criticism. It may not be nice for me to talk about this because it is a personal matter.

``I don't want to say what is right or wrong. Legal experts should know what is right or wrong. But there's no need to speak it every day,'' the King said.>>

Well, that should [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) Shina off in a BIG way..:)

It is well known that Their Majesties positively hate the Prime Minister. HM the King has already given Thaksin several public and countless private rebukes. This must be very hard for him to endure, as the King is the only Thai person who can tell Thaksin how boorish and rude he is without fearing instant retribution.

That alone should be enough to justify the way the Thai people revere HM the King. And there are also the countless good deeds he accumulated in more than a half century.

Long Live the King ! The next one might not be as out of reach of Thaksin.

happy kings birthday to all,

i hope sir pm thaksin busts a nut and stubs his left toe while climbing upon his bully pulpit (his one-way-communication device) to forbid his royal majesty the king from future public addresses that contain any critical and/or contradictory remarks toward sir thaksin: prime minister almighty.

a public demonstration is being planned for dec. 9th at lumpini park designed to air the issues and concerns held by the commonfolk of thailand regarding thaksin's policies and agenda.

maybe the almighty one will save thailand once again by recreating yet another victory over the war-on-drugs. on the day of the demonstration he will deliver a public address at 10am. during this meeting he will reveal certain top-secret documents condemning any and all anti-thaksin
demonstrators to be executed on sight. it will not be noticed until much later that the military arrived at lumpini park at 6am the same day, a full four hours before thaksin's speech.

this fact will be waved off after it has been noticed and brought forth by the feeble (nearly conquered) press. thaksin will declare that the military was informed before the press release due to national security and that the previously restricted documents had been withheld from public view for the same reason.

it will never be noticed that the once top-secret documents were never before revealed because they were forged and printed a mere two hours before thaksin's fatal address. thaksin will state that the condemned never had the (need) for a hearing because the evidence against them was (in his opinion) overwhelming and unquestionable.

a special edition of the bangkok post will be available at 4pm explaining why the "lumpini park massacre" was necessary and legitimate. please read the following excerpts.

"the conspirators were apprehended and executed by the military on december 9th, 2548 at lumpini park shortly after prime minister thaksin declared marshall law."

"the co-conspirators formed a terrorist organization known as mairakthai shortly after thaksin was elected for his second term. the organization was first identified by the thai secret police (tsp) in december of 2547. the tsp successfully infiltrated mairakthai with undercover operatives in february 2548. the information that led to the apprehension and execution of the war criminals was in no small part due to the heroic efforts of the tsp task force. the tsp commissioner commented shortly after the executions were concluded, "i can't have any pride for myself because i am nothing as one person, but i am proud of my team. they became a perfect example of our parties' motto, of the people for the people.""

colonel sayransunisit was overheard talking to two of his officers after the event, "they are better off dead and we have done well to have helped them because we have spared their present incarnation from additional wrongs against karma."

a young high school boy was heard talking to himself in thoughtful reflection while watching the military load dead bodies into a pickup, "mairakthai's crimes are nothing short of traitoress. i mean... they were selling yaba to fund terrorism in the south."

the best thing was watching taksin's face as the king made each point.

if my thai was correct then the king also spoke a lot about how he himself should be more open to criticism and how the public shouldn't see criticising thai royalty as taboo.

lexus got some excellent free advertising at the end of the speech when the king drove off in one. their bangkok reps must've popped a few corks that night.

... when we can find all we need on Thailand's current affairs in the Thailand section of WSG. If Jackson is not careful media mogul Takshin will soon be eyeing a hostile take over of the Forum in an attempt to silence his most hostile critics.

Keep up the good work. Thailand's current affairs have never sounded so simple

Greetings to all in the Thai forums, and my apologies for being so long silent these last months -- family issues (which have involved and still involve lots of mostly pointless time hanging around hospitals) and absurd work pressures have unfortunately kept me from this forum and, worse, from LOS.

I wish to all of you the best the rest of the year can bring, and look forward to catching up here to lots of pertinent info in anticipation of my next as-yet-unscheduled trip!

(Oh, yes, and me disappearing once I got 2000 posts was truly entirely coincidence, since I've actually reached that number several times, each time having the number reduced as Jackson eliminated posts involved in flame wars or off-topic posts, despite the fact I generally try not to engage in such behaviors...)

Hi Guys - I'll be staying in Fortuna Hotel on a one night, one day lay-over in a few weeks. It's my first visit to BKK, so any info re where to go and how to get around in such a limited time would be much appreciated - will arrive 9:30PM, leave next day 530PM - want to get at least two sessions in.

I like to take pics (and I don't mean of shrines), so clubs like Eden are out. I prefer freelancers or maybe take-out from a club (two at a time, LT for the first night, then a short-time next day around midday - such a tight schedule!).

I don't want to spend all my time in traffic, so places walking distance from Fortuna would be great.

Here's an extract from their website. (And how about their "Thai Traditional massage rooms"????)

Cheers

Piper
_________

Fortuna Hotel 19 Soi 5, Sukhumvit Road, Klongtoey... in the center of Bangkok city; close to sky train station,... Thai traditional massage rooms.

Nearby Foodland supermarket, Nana night plaza,... Nana sky train station is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The expressway entry-exist point is only 2 blocks away.

Piper, you are going to be landing in the middle of the "pink zone".Within spitting distance is Gulliver's on soi 5, a beer bar with pool tables. FLs are a bit more aloof than other places.
head toward Sukhumvit, you will see an alleyway on the left before you hit the main road. Hang a left, pop out on the next street, called soi 7, hang a left, and within 5 yards, is the famous beergarden, FLs start arriving at 11.00 AM or so. if you don't have what you want by 10.00 PM, it won't happen there.

Also 3 minutes from you is NEP, head down your soi toward Sukhumvit, make a right, cross the street at the light going left, and walk 50 metres. Lots of beer bars, and gogo bars. Some have good shows, some not. Watch out for the LB bars.

Accross the street, if you are stilll in search, or searching again :), is the hotel Nana. inside there, is Angel's disco, plenty of choice there, and if you are still looking, walk outside of the hotel, and look in the parking lot.

Since you are arriving at 9.30 PM, i would head straight to NEP, and have a couple of cold ones there. From there i would head into Angels.

I would go to beergarden the next day for another "pre flight" pop.

if you want a thai traditional maasage, I can suggest a very good place on soi 8, which is directly accross the street from soi 5, where beergarden is located. it is on the right, 10 yards into the soi, and it also doubles as a travel agent. 2 hour massage is best, as they rush to do all of you in 1. No happy ending with traditional thai massage, but a buddy got an oil massage with a nice HJ afterwards :D They don't make much, so a tip is always nice.

Have fun, and let's see how you do.

I have been to BKK a few times but never tried this place and was thinking of giving it a try this time, but all the reports suggest it is a daytime place only, I would be interested to know what it is like later on!

just to follow up on hm the king's address:

>>>>>thai pm to drop media lawsuits

thai prime minister thaksin shinawatra is to withdraw lawsuits against a media mogul who has become one of his fiercest critics, his lawyers say.
the surprise move by mr thaksin follows a gentle public reprimand by the country's king during his birthday speech on sunday.

mr thaksin had filed six lawsuits against sondhi limthongkul, who has held weekly rallies denouncing him.

thailand's media has accused mr thaksin of trying to muzzle all criticism.

"the prime minister is forgiving everyone in order to create conciliation by withdrawing all the lawsuits against sondhi," thana benjathikul, chief of mr thaksin's legal team, told reporters on tuesday.

"i will go to court and withdraw the suits this afternoon," mr thana said.

thailand's king bhumibol adulyadej, who is widely revered in the country, appeared to press mr thaksin in his birthday speech to be less sensitive to criticism.

"the pm is not wrong. the pm can do anything. there is no need to go on air on the tv [to complain]... it has been 10 times going on air. so the people are getting fed up. they want to see soap dramas instead," he said.

government spokesman suraphong suebwonglee said mr thaksin respected the king's opinion.

"the government will fully listen to the king's advice, and from now on this government will accept both praise and criticism from the public and the opposition," he said.

mr sondhi's lawyer said his client was pleased with the outcome but would still go ahead with this week's rally on friday.<<<<

It is a day time / early evening time place. There are a few diamonds in the rough there, you have to look and be patient. It is also a fun place to meet up with a bunch of guys, and shoot the shit.

At 10.00 PM, you will have the dregs. Drunk guys sitting at the bar, with their face in their beer, having their leg massaged by a TG, who is actually so desperate for some business that she is willing to go with this smelly drunk old fart. All the worthwhile TGs are long gone, having been chosen, or having moved on to CM2, or Angel's.

eden club is a bar (coctkail lounge) in bangkok, located in sukhumvit soi 7/1 near the new skytrain stop "nana" after the soi with beergarden. is a different from the normal bar (go-go o "pattaya style") in bkk because is a "hardcore" bar, more close a brothel then a bkk bar, with a specialization in threesome. normal there is some girl outside the bar, you go inside and quickly you are approached with a lady, after the owner (a french man from alsace) tell me that is a "master", the master quickly invite a another girl and french kissing her in front of your nose and take some dildo and playing soft (only joking) with the second girl. after ask if you want "shopping", if you agree go up with the girls choose a pornomovie from about 40 tape (i think the girls, from your tape choose, know what the customer like), in the room after the shower, put the tape in the recorder and go in the big bed, the master ask you if you like the lesbo show, if yes the master take a underware with dildo and start to fuck the second girl you can join, all girl swallows only few do anal you must ask beforehand. price for shopping 1600 thb (40 usd) each girl before 8p. m, 1900 thb after, beer 100 thb (2. 50 usd). bussiness hours 3p. m - 2 a. m. the shopping time is 90 minutes in this time you can do how many times you want or can if you are tired you can watch the movie but your time is 90 minutes. some girl speek very little english (like me), the age are between 25-35y. o with some exception i meet a girl 22y. o in her first day (and last the eden very hard experience for a common thai girl) in eden, after when close go in a thai disco near bangla down on the sukhumvit (not a place for farang, me are the only one) with another girl (the boss don't like this, is not like the normal bar after close is normal the girl go with customer in disco, i tell before eden is more like a brothel than a bar) and she tell me that before work in annie massage (in sukhumvit soi 4 near the rajah hotel or raimbow 2000 disco) and this is the first day in the eden but the face look like a shocked girl, the eden is not a place for sky girl. the sex is little be too meccanical different from the common "girlfriend" experience that you can found in bkk, but one time (or two) is a nice experience, for one time you are a protagonist in a porno-movie.

Bats and balls
Dec 8th 2005
From The Economist print edition

Bigger testes mean smaller brains

MEN are often accused by women of, to put it bluntly, having their brains in their balls. A joke, of course. But perhaps not as much of one as people might like to think. For a study of bats carried out by Scott Pitnick, of Syracuse University in New York State, and his colleagues, suggests that there really is a trade-off between the two organs.

With about 1,000 species, bats are the second-largest group of mammals (rodents are top), so there is plenty of material for interspecies studies. Dr Pitnick's project, published in this week's Proceedings of the Royal Society, looked at brain size and testis size in 334 of those species. Sadly, the team's research budget did not allow it to jet around the world and gather data directly. Instead of visiting bat caves, the scientists visited their universities' libraries. But bats are a well-studied group, and so the team was able to gather pertinent data on the anatomy and behaviour of a third of them.

The hypothesis they were testing came in two parts. The first was that in any given species, the average male's testis size as a fraction of body weight will depend on the behaviour of that species' females—in particular, how promiscuous those females are. The second was that, given that brain tissue and testis tissue are among the most expensive to maintain physiologically, and that bats have a very tight energy budget, bigger balls would result in smaller brains.

The team knew, from work done some time ago, that the first part of their hypothesis is true in primates. Greater promiscuity in females does, indeed, lead to bigger testes, presumably because a male needs to make more sperm to have a fighting chance of fathering offspring, if those sperm are competing with sperm from a lot of other males. Gorillas, which discourage dalliances between other males and the females of their harem, have small testes. Chimpanzees, among whom females mate widely, have large ones. Human testes lie between these two extremes.

And so it proved in bats. Bat testes range from 0.11% of body weight in the African yellow-winged bat, to a whacking 8.4% in the generously endowed Rafinesque's big-eared [sic] bat. (The largest primate testes by contrast, those of the crab-eating macaque, are a mere 0.75% of body mass.) And the small balls were indeed found in species where females were monogamous (though they might be members of harems), while the large ones were found in species where females mated widely.

Brain size, by contrast, and just as predicted, varied in the opposite direction. Nor was it dependent on the level of male promiscuity. In the bat world, it seems that you do not have to be cleverer to be a libertine than to be a faithful husband. But if the girls are putting it about, it is better to be virile and dim, than impotent and smart.<<<

Try reading the thaiticketmaster newsletter. http://www.thaiticketmaster.com/newsletter/index_eng.htm

You can sign up for it at thaiticketmaster http://www.thaiticketmaster.com

It's not the most intuitive website in the world, that's for sure. Here is the English version of the sitemap. http://www.thaiticketmaster.com/sitemap_eng.php

I've successfully booked tickets before, but it took me awhile. I reckon you'll figure it out after some practice. :)

If your looking for live concerts then keep your eye on the Concert Channel http://www.thaiticketmaster.com/concert/index.php

Oh yeah, one more thing. After booking tickets you'll need to pick them up somewhere, and the question is of course where?

I always pick up my tickets at Central Department Store, which is connected to the Chitlom BTS Station.

Be sure and bring the credit card that you purchased the tickets with and I'd bring your passport too, just in case.

Good luck

MONDAY is now a very boring night in Bangkok because the street vendors are required to shut down at 1:00AM or 01:00. The scene has picked up a little because Angel (Nana) Disco now stays open until 3:00AM, but that could change at any time and it does.

Bottom Line: MONDAY night is the worst night in BKK because of the lack of street scene after 01:00.

I think it is because Jackson dated his message as 1 Jan 2006. The cookie stored in pc, records the last time you login. And messages dated later than the day and time of your last login will be deemed as new reports. So, whenever we login, his post will be considered as a new report and thus the thread highlighted.

Hi guys,

This is a repeat request because I cannot find the original request posted anyplace. I will be at the BKK airport for a six hour layover. Is that enough time to get fs someplace decent? If so, where -- (I remember a post about a massage place in the airport but it didn't say anything about fs) or near the airport, or do I have to go into the city. If I go into the city How long will it take - I would probably catch a taxi around noon and have to be back at the airport by 3:45 PM - so do even have enough time to go into the city. If I do what will be open at around 12:30 - 1:00 PM.

There are a lot of questions and I do read the forum but I haven't found any info that addresses these specific questions.

I would really appreciate any help any of you might be able to offer.

Thanks.

Hi,

A typical rtff question would be:
"What's the best time to visit LOS?"
Here's when not to. NOW!

From today's BKK Post:
"Cold snap blamed for death of man in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai (TNA) - Cold weather is sweeping across Thailand's Northern and Northeastern regions, and in Chiang Mai, one man who apparently couldn't cope with the cold has died.

Security guard Shinawatra Srihome, 47, was found dead at his post in a computer store on Huaikaew Road this morning. Police said it appeared night-long winds and temperatures in the teens triggered an attack of asthma, his long-term illness. Authorities at Maharaj Nakhon Chiang Mai Hospital will conduct an autopsy.

Low temperatures affected residents in other areas, particularly in the higher regions, where temperatures have plunged below 10C overnight. In Mae Jam district, over 1,000 ethnic minority families are suffering from the unusually cold weather and a lack of enough blankets and warm clothing.

According to the weather forecast, temperatures in the north will drop by 3 degrees Celsius until Dec 19. Temperatures are now relatively constant at 13.2 degrees, but the lowest temperature was 5 degrees at Doi Inthanon, the country's highest peak.

Meanwhile, temperatures in the Northeast are predicted to fall 2-6 degrees to average 15-20 degrees overnight,.

Authorities in Yasothon province report that some 50,000 villagers in several districts have inadequate clothing or blankets. Provincial authoritries and agencies concerned provided assistance for needy people.

Meanwhile, many local residents in Ubon Ratchathani are suffering cold-weather related illnesses. The provincial public health office reported that nearly 1,000 patients per day, mainly children and the elderly, are visiingt hospitals for treatment of weather-related respiratory complaints."

Has anyone read the book 'Bangkok Inside Out.' ?

A few weeks ago the co-author left Thailand after receiving death threats apparently because of a photo of a half naked bar girl in the book - her face was not blocked out. A high ranking Thai official demaded that any remaining copies be removed from bookshelves in stores.

Its a little strange to say the least, as the book was released a year ago, and they only noticed it now ? I am assuming that offence was taken due to the photo of the half-naked bar girl. And the death threats ???

I guess that the writer will not be going back to LOS anytime soon. Not so friendly in LOS.

Cheers.

Totally disagree. Bkk is now excellent for the shorts crowd (no sweating). And up north you just need a little bit clothing.

Get the fuck down here now, spend your savings, and be shure not to come here in the hot/rainy season (your stupid BBQ's are far more sanuk).

You arrive at 11am, you will probably be looking for a taxi by 11:30, dump your bags in the airport storage place, go to the 2nd floor of the airport (departures) and get a nice shiny new taxi, with metre to take you to Sukhumvit area. You will be there by 12:30 at the very latest, your flight leaves at 6pm, its a shit time to be travelling in Bangkok, i would reccomend leaving Sukhumvit at 3:30, you'll probably be at the airport within an hour, leave after 4pm and it could be a lot longer.
So 3 hours, where should you go, if you have the budget, go to Eden, soi 7/1 you'll get exactly what you need, guaranteed, no hassles or goto soi 7 beergarden and roll the dice. Another option for me would be Aviva massage on a small soi off soi 8, 800 baht for 2 hour oil massage, plus tip (HJ 500, BJ 1000, FS 1500) but i reckon Eden would be best.

Freeler > Sorry, but for me this is the best time of year in LOS, the temperature in Bangkok is lovely, the humidty is gone, the skys are clear and the nights are cool and pleasant, theres also a nice fresh breeze, beats dripping in sweat or being soaked in rain any day. Up country gets bloody cold at night though, i remember last year sitting round a huge bonfire near Khon Khaen, went to bed freezing, woke up the next morning and there was frost on my car !

Hi,

I just found this in my pm-box and it might concern more of you:

"<Freeler wrote>
I don't want to spoil anything, but next time, ask for a generic Viagra, about B500 for four.

Hi Freeler,

I will be making my first trip to Pattaya in January. I have read every 2005 Pattaya post and feel fairly well equipped for the trip. But this is one of the few questions I was curious about. I take it from your message that you can buy generic ED stuff at a regular pharmacy?? Is there generic Cialis as well?? Guess I though the generic stuff would be 'black market' on the street."

Right, Viagra is only available on a doctors prescription. Officially that is.
Fortunately, there are two kinds of pharmacies in Thailand. The real official pharmacy and the, what you would probably call, drugstore kind.
These little drugstores are all over the place. The folks behind the counters won't be wearing white coats like the real pharmacy people do. But they will often have generic viagra for sale. They will pull it from under the counter or fetch it from a back room.
And if they don't sell it, they will probably point out that you have to see a doctor for a prescription, so there's no danger is asking:)!
It's not 'black market on the street', it's more like 'grey market in the drugstore':).

Freeler

I was hanging around Nana when this girl appeared looking anxious to meet a client. I noticed her large knockers. She did not speak English and she said she a newbie. She had reservations about going with anyone but after she walked me to meet her friend we decided it was a go. The first thing she did on the way to the room is request that I buy her cigarettes a spy wine cooler and tic tacs and I did. Then I discovered that her knockers were silicon. In any respect I thought I had a good pull.
She was a good kisser but she kept insisting on turning the lights off so a volley of switch throwing was the result. She resisted the unveiling of her towel. Then she started insisting that I wear a condom during foreplay a debate that ensued in my favor.
I put on the condom for intercourse but I had to wrestle her into positions and her stomach bore some nasty stretch marks.
Her constant complaining almost ruined the session.
It is sessions like this that sway me to a go with a repeat sure thing over a uncertain first time pull.
I definetly will NOT go with her again.
This photo was taken before she left she looked alot better earlier.

Hi,

I am a 28yr old male, currently in USA. I am thinking of going to Bangkok during the upcoming Christmas break.

I am planning on spending about 10 days out there.

Is it possible to find a nice young (of legal age of course) working girl in Bangkok who will be willing to stay with me 24/7 during my visit.

I am not looking for an upscale escort, but one of the regular working girls. if so, can anyone provide any guidance, advice on rates, hotels etc. I am a member of this site, so you can PM me or email me at [Email Address deleted by Admin]

1. Emails are out. Read the rules. PMs only.
2. Yes, it is possible for a 24/7
3. Hotels - RTFF
4. Rates - Unbelievable. Again RTFF. LT+ rates.
5. RTFF = Read the F*****g Forums. Specially BKK Reports.

Desimonger,

of course there will be thousands of nice girls who will stay with you 24/7, but I doubt it will be a regular. You better drop the idea of finding a regular that isn't at least a part timer. Ask yourself what you have to offer for a regular Thai girl ?

You want to shag her for 10 days and then you are heading home. What's in for the girl besides a few extra baht ? And if she is a regular she wouldn't just go for money, if she does I bet that she a professional.

Don't waste your time with it, better try to find a nice P4P who will spend the time with you. A regular can't be with you 24/7 as she has a job and got to work during day time.

Desimonger,

As other very senior members have chimed-in, you might want to consider RTFF for most of the info you seek.

As a semi-regular resident of Bangkok (based in BKK, but travel extensively and often throughout Asia and even Europe for work), I would concur with most of what's already been said. Most regular women will not see the value to them in hanging 24/7 with a farang just for 10 days - hell, it'd probably take you half that time atleast to find a regular willing to spend the night with you!

Contrary to popular belief, the general Thai populace is pretty conservative: most regular Thai women are not waiting for you to show up to bring them a new perspective on life. (Unlike many places in the Philippines, where I am this week.)

RTFF, check out the well-known places and take your pick. If you find a good one, keep her for a night and a day see how it goes. Personally, it's an extremely rare woman (regardless of culture or country) that keeps me captivated for more than a night and the following day.

I suggest you pay particular attention to Traveler's posts: I've begun following his methodology, in all the countries I visit, and am a happier monger for it.

Good luck!

Regular Member Reports: 1

This is not a quote, but it would be if the quote function included member posting stats. So why am I quoting something that is not inherently quotable?

Simple!

Here is a guy with one measly post (meaning his 1st post), and what does he do?

Simple and Obvious!

He asks a question that is beyond basic. No! It is before basic. It is before basic ever dreamt of being basic. An example of a question that is before basic is the gurgling sounds an infant makes before knowing basic words such as: Mama, Papa, and hungry.

Jesus H. Christ! I'm trying awfully hard to understand God's infinite wisdom and mercy. It seems to me that a wise and merciful God would prevent the conception of dimwits such as Desimonger. But then there is the ancient axiom: God works in mysterious ways.

Where the fuck did Desimonger learn about posting on Internet forums? Is the internet so old that the basic rules of online etiquette have been forgotten, or has the original Internet generation failed (because of chat room addiction) to pass on the sacred traditions of etiquette to the next generation? I don't know the answer to that question. All I know is that the youngsters of today seem to be fucked-up beyond repair.

Dear Lord, why have you forsaken me?

Instead of waiting for an answer that may never come I will pick up my staff and intentionally march forth into the desert of unbelievable ignorance with the singular purpose of delivering the internet-dimwits from the jaws of unacceptable social behavior. Pick up your nets and follow me if ye wish to be more than a fisherman. Pick up your nets and follow me so that you might become fishers of men!

On the other hand, if you desire to be respected as a good-internet-forum-poster, then you really need to study the word a little more carefully. I'd start with forum article 1, chapter 1, verse 1:

What? You don't know about the word?

The word is something that you have to accept in faith. It's not so difficult once you understand the benefits of the word, but even if you can't understand them now, let me tell you something. It's better to accept the word strictly as an act of faith. Those that can do this are rewarded with a higher place in monger heaven than those that need an explanation.

Accepting the word out of faith is easier than jumping off a hotel balcony in Pattaya or giving all your hard earned quid to a Thai skanker that doesn't love you.

Accepting the word out of faith will make you more popular in school and the best looking cheerleaders will want to fuck you.

Accepting the word out of faith will bring you rewards far far beyond the hottest and wettest throbbing pussy you can possibly imagine.

All you have to do is say the following words with a sincere heart:

I am truly sorry for the sins that I blatantly committed against the wise and all knowing senior members of the board (MOB). I am sorry from the bottom of my heart because I have committed the ultimate sin. I failed to (R)ead (T)he (F)ucking (F)orum and in doing so I have belittled all those that came before me and I have also belittled myself. I ask the senior MOB to forgive me and come into my heart to lead me and direct me on this day and forevermore and above all else: I promise that I'll never pray for something from the senior MOB before I've taken the time to reconcile my unworthy heart by (R)eading (T)he (F)ucking (F)orum.

You are now absolved of you Sins,

Desimonger - best bet is to try the dating sites - avoid AFF. PM me if you want one that worked for me. But if you have 10 days to monger, why not play around a bit instead? I didn't know about that. Hey DesiM, Don't take me too seriously (as in I'm not very friggin' angry), but there's been an awful lot of guys popping up lately with one post only that have been asking silly and easily answered question if they'd just RTFF.

I'm beginning to suspect that these guys are actually senior members under a different name. I've seen this sort of thing in chat rooms and on instant messengers and well... all over the Internet.

Duni!

I'm sorry man. I've been awfully busy managing risk lately. I'm in the middle of some very large trades involving Pfizer and Oracle. I've been buying and selling options all around these stocks (as well as the stock itself), and today I'm planning on unwinding all this stuff.

I've made some money and that is good. But I've neglected to check on the things that I told you I would and that is bad. I apologize again man. It's just that the Pfizer stock started moving big last week and I could not resist getting involved in the trade.

I'll write you later about it. The market opens in three minutes.

1. It is COLD (10oC in the morning in Chiang Rai) in the north.

2. It is only chilly in the morning in BKK.

3. BKK is full of tourists who think the day time temperature in BKK is summer temperature (which it is on good days in Europe and Canada).

4. Please all tourists - come now - the weather is temperate in BKK - about 20oC daytime in the north - and closer to 30oC in Phuket.

My (may be it drowned in Gin Tonics) point was that I would like all tourists to come in the high season - that way I can have BKK for myself after songkhran when the cosy (Fahrenheit 100+) temperatures come along. The shorts crowd will then be sweating and dehydrating and die with a parking lot girl (sic ...) in a room in Nana Hotel.

I - on the other hand - will emerge from my hibernation, and start to feel alive again...

The 'heat' from posts is not 'same same' the relative coldness of Thai cold season temperatures - which really are higher than summer temperatures in many (most?) farang countries. (This paragraph - on second reading - I don't understand myself).

One mans coldness is another mans heat. And the first mans temperated temperatures is the second mans heatwave. (This one I like).

Whatever - I don't give a shit. Ask me again when I wake up after songkhran ...

Just wanted to say a quick "Merry Christmas" to all the bro's out there, its been one of those years in Thailand, let's see what next year brings, Festive greetings to all.

For late night partiers, Sin bar on soi 4 was alive and kicking when i left at 3am on Friday night, plenty of tasty looking FL's, unfortunately several groups of pig ugly western woman too, the roof top garden is nice in the cooler weather !

A friend and i were also in Toy bar on cowboy on Friday night, this place can usually get out of hand if you've had a few too many and the bar tab stacks up quick, well we were surrounded by girls, there was a lot of tequilla flying everywhere, i was getting a lovely HJ from 3 topless and pantyless BG's, after being satisfied and seeing my mate had too i called for the tab, i noticed a hell of a lot of tickets in the tub and thought "shit, wasn't watching" The bill came back and was just under 900 baht for both of us. Don;t know if they added it up wrong or what, but considering our states, and the easiness to obtain a LD from us, i was very pleasantly shocked ! Gave 100B to each of the HJ girls for their services.

DesimongerI got a different impression from reading Desimonger's message than many of the rest of you. I'm not sure where he's from, but here in the States a "working girl" is sometimes slang for a p4p girl, especially a p4p girl who is not as he puts it an "upscale escort."

My read is that he was a bit ignorant about how things work in BKK and really just needs to go to Cowboy or NEP (Nana Entertainment Plaza) and take home a girl who strikes his fancy. If he likes her, he can negotiate a few more days in the morning after a good test drive. Though franky If I were you Desi, I would dedicate a couple days to "sampling" before I settled on one if it's you first time. The diifference between a Thai P4P and most Westerners is so big you should adjust your frame of reference. Also, if you are talking about taking a girl over a week, your per day rate should down unless she is one of those beauties who gets picked every night.

Philo - humidity plays a big part in perception of temperature. 95F (35C) in the desert is a lot different from 87F (28C) in the tropics (been to both). I actually like 95F desert heat better (no humidity - stay dry)

April is the "warm month" in muang Thai (averaging 92F or so with 100F not all that uncommon)

Myself, I go in April (or May) and September (or October) - great weather - might be a bit "wet" though. Never tried songkran - didn't want to endure constant baths

Hey Desi,

If this was the case then put your apology up front and personal la. If I'd have known that you were lazy on purpose and that you really were desperate, I'd never have ranted on you so harshly. Now I'll say I'm sorry ok na?

Here are two of my newbie reports. I think just about everything a first-timer needs to know is included, give or take a paragraph or two.

But the bottom line is this: read these two reports and then go to Bangkok. After you come back you'll be a wild-eyed-green-horn-toddler just like I was.

It makes me blush to re-read these reports and remember how much I thought I knew back then when I thought I new it all. :)

I don’t think I will get many arguments on this point about what make good sex.

Good sex is when you have a partner that wants to get off with you.
Good sex is when you have a partner that is willing to engage in foreplay.
That is a partner that doesn’t complain during sex.
That is a partner that doesn’t watch the clock.
It really helps if the partner is attractive.

The problem often encountered with prostitution is a partner with ulterior motives that which is money which results in bad sex i.e. a scam. That is not to say we haven’t ever been scammed by women who were not prostitutes.

Cheers for a Happy New Year and happy hunting.

RTFF - Seems to be said over and over of late, i too have enjoyed the slap down of some lazy newbie who just didn't bother, but where does it take us ?

T1234 got me thinking (not easy to do !)....
Unfortunately in todays busy lifestyle, people have less and less time, is entering a forum you have just found and throwing a question out there really so bad ? Yes its annoying to us, over and over again, the same lame questions, but we are probably scaring away /pi**ing off would be forum brothers, who may go on to add valuable posts and contributions and even subscribe to this wonderful haven giving Jacskon more financial resource to make even more enhancements to this fantastic site.

Jackson > What if all of us (if everyone agrees ?) do not respond to "stupid newbie questions" and instead they get one of your standard blue messages under there post, politely directing them to the FAQ, Reports of Distinction, and how to access the Search facility, and encouraging them to post again after reading all of the above.

There will come a time when all that is left are us hardcore nowitalls who blast away the newbies with their stupid questions and the forum will slowly whittle, after another year or so, most of the forum will contain posts with RTFF, but on doing so, all you can find is RTFF and no info !

Meaty: thought the only ones that got you 'thinking' are at Catherine :D

I agree with your idea - except that puts a lot of work for jackson, unless one of the senior guys reports the post to admin with polite request to blue tag it. I'm game if jackson is.

I still think a 'gentle' or less gentle PM (depending on how outrageous) the query is is a good way to tell the newbies to do their homework without pissing or scaring them off. And personally i find reading past posts not only informative but also see a lot of humor!

I have actually done this recently for a couple of reasons: 1) to try to induce them to do their homework without 'humiliating' them in public; 2) i didn't want my last 20 posts showing just 'rtff' since my next trip to asia won't be till after lunar new year...

You should have read the stink in the Singapore forum, dumb newbie post that Peter EastWest replied with what I considered a 'classic' that should be put into the RoD thread. I put in my part with suggesting to bring chewing gum and a fellow senior blasted me for trying to get the poor newbie fined at customs. LOL :D

So, even though I've been now labeled as being soft on newbies, going to go back to my new year's resolution. No more public blasts, just gentle (or less gentle) PM. POV

NOooo!!!! I'm shattered! And I just found out Santa isn't real. What a day. ;)

Fear not Brother Piper, Globotto knows not what he talks, i know for a fact that all Thai girls genuinely lust after us farrangs because of our white skin, good looks, huge penises, romantic tendancies, and the will to GDATY :D its got nothing to do with money - i am sad to say that Santa is in fact not real, but thats okay, theres plenty of other fat men wearing coats whose laps you can sit on !

T1234, you hit my only concern, the additional workload for Jackson, i visit other forums (yes, there are others !) where extremely senior members are given a little admin power, called 'moderators' would this work ? We could ask Jackson to set up a vote for the moderator ?

Just sent suggestion via pm to Jackson to see what he thinks. If others think moderator might want, pm him directly.

Happy New Year to all and see you in 2006!

On the way back from Bahrain - and yes Freeler the throat was still killing me - however not enough to prevent a glance in the right directions.

Had three to four hours to kill and so decided to sleep it off in the Amari - now in the past have had no joy in the massage parlour and out of routine boredom decided to see what was on show. The first was a disaster and so went back to my room to sleep - half an hour later and the phone riings would I care to come up and have a look.

Well lo and behold she was worth a look !! A nice 25 year old slim but a very tasty rack and ready to be eaten alive !

Back down to the room and when she revealed the rack it was a sight for sore eyes. After the night before in Bahrain where the performance was perfunctory it was worth being back in LOS for the attendant smile.

She gave a very tasty bbbj and allowed me to roam my tongue all over her body - sore throat included on this one - but it is amazing how a little juice can go in the right direction to calm the raging pain !! She was well into that act and with a lot of movement and lubrication to follow until she decided the next course of events. She was not having any bare-backing but enjoying teasing for at least ten minutes by tempting the old fella to enter and then lifting just high enough to make it impossible at the same time.

Finally condom in hand and now on the floor - the beds are pushed together and not real double beds so tend to move apart in the middle of the action !! - we proceeded to pound the carpet - mind you she had a few carpet burns on the knees by the time the performance was rounded off.

The damage was very high in relative terms being 3850 baht - of which she said she only got 900 to whit my reply was go freelance my dear and find your way down to Sukumhvit asap as you will do a roaring trade with my fellow mongers !!

The only sad part of the story was she was adamant about no photos so will have to wait for the next trip as she gave the handphone number and all i can say is that the discount on the next trip will - as a true accountant reduce the average costs !!

Happy Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year to one and all

Coma,

Germans: "Handy"
Finns: "Kasipuhelin" ("handtelephone"!), they invented the damned thing, they should know!

So, handphone is not that silly.

Being in Bangkok for now more than two months, I would like to give a short overview of my experience of expat.

- NEP is more and more trendy... more and more Asian in the gogos... good money for girls.... " I like japanese customers, small cock, fuck only one time and good money" ...

best gogos are the Rainbows... especially the number 2 and number 4 . Very nice girls. The boss is a sinothai... But i should say that I was two times disappointed by the quality of the service of Rainbow 4 dancers. Very professional... no GFE. 2000 bahts for a shorttime. I had a better experience with Angel Witch... 1500 bahts for a ST but she stays for LT... Her name is Fon... don't miss the show.

- Soi Cow Boy.. I was a little bit disappointed by the average quality of girls... some stunners ... but far from what you can get in Rainbow. The atmosphere is more quiet, friendly place... May be more GFE, but I have not yet taken girls there.

- Soi 33... I have tried the Office... a stunner Oy... but very lazzy in the bed... 1 200 bahts for the bar fine... She asks 3 000 bahts in the morning but get 1 500 bahts... given the poor performance provided.

- Thermae... I have tried a very sexy girl... half muslim half thai... very professional... no GFE... 2500 bahts for a long time ... but she asks the money before ... and leaves in the night... Smoke with condoms... no kisses. One of my worst experience in Thailand... A farang face and a Farang poor service.

- BierGarden... soi 7 . it depends on the days... sometimes one or two very nice girls... but more frequently average girls... too many men... I was with Nii, a girl from Surin... 2000 bahts for LT... very good in the bed... barebacking

- Patpong.. a big (and good) surprise for me... I have always considered the place as a tourist trap... but with a girl from King's Corner... It was a unique experience... very GFE... barebacking... she asks 2000 bahts for ST but accepts 1500 bahts ... and stays LT. In the bed one of the best girl of my life... three holes... More and more friends told me that Patpong is a place to rediscover... NEP is NOW the tourist trap full of Asians.. Chinese entrepreneurs... Japanese expat... Patpong is worth a visit... Tourists are doing shopping while gogos are quiet.

- Thai Massages.. i have invited a Thai masseuse of the soi Eden for a lunch ... in my hotel. Very good sex... 1000 bahts for a LT... Not barfine... and very GFE

Places to try... Eden Club... CM2... Q bar... I will post a new report next month.
