I am sure I have seen some info about this hotel http://www.lapazaparthotel.com/ in this thread but now I cannot find them.

Has anyone recent news about this place ?
Is it girls friendly ?

I am thinking to stay there soon as they are offering reasonable rate: US$ 85 all included, for a suite.

Thanks in advance

Some forum members have stayed here and found it GF: http://www.suitesaparthotel.com/

I called yesterday for a price quote and they gave me $60 a night. Might be an interesting option. I still think that for our hobby a short term apt. rental is the way to go if one is staying more than a few days. However a lot of guys prefer a hotel and this one, I have been told, is OK.

I fully agree with you.
However, I am only staying a few days and coming for business .... other than for some mongering if I get some free time.

So, I believe hotel is better option in front of business partners and in front of my company ;-)

I will contact this place and then report.

Last time I was here, I stayed at Conquistadores Hotel & Suites, Calle Lizardo Alzamora, San Isidro, which was OK and girl friendly (they only asked for ID).
However, now they are quoting over US$ 140 and I would like to spend less.

I had to, due to family problems, postpone my trip from Sept. to Nov. I'll be in Lima Nov. 17-22, that is, if I can find a place to stay! Apparently, unbeknownst to me, the APEC conference is in town that week and most hotels are already booked.

The only ones I could find w/ availability are the Las Palmas and Mariu Luisa. Both have suites. But some tell me they're both dumps, some tell me the suite at Las Palmas is good, and so I don't know what to believe. I'm open to opinions/suggestions.

Perhaps there are other apartment options as well?

Thanks guys,

Doc Bill

Well, they are both dumps, but they are both good mongering hotels.

Maria Luisa Problems:

1) Street noise
2) No safe
3) No heat in room and cold as fuck

Maria Luisa Good points:

1) Security
2) Proximity to action
3) Clean nice small rooms
4) Totally monger friendly
5) Cheap

Las Palmas Problems:

1) Rooms variable in quality
2) Street noise
3) Thiefs work there, men clean your room and rummage thru your shit
4) Must request safe, and USE IT

Las Palmas good points:

1) good location
2) Clean and friendly
3) Nice girls work desk
4) Easy internet access in lobby
5) Bigger nicer rooms
6) Monger friendly

In a nutshell...

Elberto

I wouldn't say these hotels are 'dumps' but they are budget lodging in Miraflores. To do better you either have to fork out the cash, stay outside of Miraflores, or know some of the locals who have short-term apartments in their homes with private entries for guests.

The Las Palmas is so loud that it is impossible to sleep, even with heavy-duty earplugs. Everything else is ok plus top notch showers, but I would only suggest it as the last option before an all-nighter at Tequila's or sleeping on the benches in Parque Kennedy.

I would recommend the Maria Luisa without hesitation. It is much quieter than LP, the suites have mini-fridges, and you can snag wifi from the sofas in the hallways. There are safes available at the front desk at the Maria Luisa if you ask. I have stayed there in total for the equivalent of months and only had one situation where someone had gone through my stuff, but fortunately nothing was missing.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I appreciate it. I also looked into some apartments, a few that looked real nice and cheap, on a website that LimaBusy gave me.

I ended up finding the Las Suites Apart-Hotel on Grau - It has 4 stars, and I booked a "suite" for $70 per night. I also hear on good word that it is guest-friendly.

I will for a little while keep my reservation at ML in case one of you tells me horrible things about Las Suites.

Thanks again, and I'll be in town 11/17-22, from Arequipa and Colombia.

BTW, very funny Polvo!

Just got what appears to be a mass mailing e-mail from Las Suites. They are offering 50% off their normal prices this month. Have to call them and ask for it. Their numbers are on the website.

Good list and certainly necessary. The prices are the rack prices but when called on the phone you can generally obtain a discount. The Suites Aparthotel is a case in point.

I still recommend that forum members if visiting for a week or more, consider a short term apt. rental. Each day there are more and more available.

With the exception of Dec 19-Jan 17 the "Bachelor pad" is full for the year. Due to the success of the "Bachelor Pad" and the demand here for "special needs" apartments, I am starting a (Development company) to construct Lima's first "monger owned"and managed apartment building.

We are currently searching locations in Miraflores (I welcome input from Lima regulars on your wish lists) and anticipate construction to start this summer and completion by late fall 2009-summer 2010.

I have to thank LimaBusy for believing in me and arranging the private equity to complete this million dollar project. With the recent doubling and trebling of land prices in Miraflores and the credit crisis in Europe, Asia and the USA, his Mid East contacts are greatly appreciated.

I also want to thank all you ISG members who have expressed interest in buying units as our success will make the Lima forum a better and stronger community.

Some of the highlights we plan to incorporate:

Double Master bedrooms (en suite jacuzzis). Two bedroom units
Loft style 1 bedroom units
Heated and A/C
Equipped for Natural gas
Ocean View
Marble baths
Open kitchens granite counters
Monger friendly common areas with self service bar. Bottle locker for owners.
On- site laundry service for owners or guests.
Roof top bar pool/jacuzzi.
High end equipped/furnished
Long term and short term leases

Lastly I would like to thank all the members who have stayed at the Bachelor pad in the past and I hope to see you again when the new project is complete.

Rumour has it that Marriott is running a special for the rest of the year. You can trade in your 401k for a week stay (depending on market conditions, this may require double or triple occupancy)!

I stayed for 9 nites at the Suites ApartHotel in Miraflores. 466 Av Grau.

I dont have anything to compare to here, but I was quite happy with my stay. In a very quiet area, but only a 4 to 5 minute walk to Pizza Alley. My room had a king size bed and 2 bathrooms. A large TV with cable ... 85 channels. A funcional kitchen, but with few useful items . . . no knives, ice, or many utensils . . . nor salt, pepper, oil, soap etc, so if you plan any cooking you need an initial run to a store for maybe $20 of basic stuff.

The place has a heater-AC that works. No bath tubs, only 2 showers, if that
matters. It is very secure with both a doorman a desk clerk. No one goes in or out without them. Best of all they are chica friendly. I had at least 7 or 8 women during both the day and night with no problems. They dont always require her documents to be left at the desk, which is actually not a good thing for you, so I always made her do it.

I paid $55 a night. Includes breakfast, but I dint see any breakfast room. I did not ask, as I dont really want breakfast. Check their website for info. But call or send them an Email to negociate the lowest rate. They give big discounts off the Web rates.

They even have a driver, that works most of the tiem for them, I hire him for a full day and I think it was like $25 or $30 including waiting time at restaurants and everything. It might be expensive but I know I was safe with the guy.

I think that it is perfect if you are want a 5 star hotel I paid $60 per night, also with breakfast, which I never took.

It is served on top floor.
You take elevator to 8th floor and then you walk one more floor.

However, you didn't miss anything as breakfast is very poor.

Only remark, waitress looked hot to my eyes.
I would have done her ;-)

ThanksTequila Rocks is the closest for late night action. Lots of girls on PT (side bar) have apartments in Miraflores and it is a great deal for daytime on premise action.

I am currently staying in this Hotel (Phone 447-9000). To tell you frankly, when I first walked into my Executive Suite, I almost wanted to leave. This is barely a two star motel. Everything is old and cheap. They never change a cracked pot, broken window, overused towels, etc. etc. Somebody wrote about a musty smell in the room. This is so obvious. These rocket scientists have designed a jacuzzi in the middle of the bedroom in an open space! No exhaust to take away anything. Anyway, then I started looking into the Senior Suites. Prokofiev described it very well in his Report No. 272, below. After looking 3 different Suites, I settled into one on the 7th Floor, which is quite decent. I knocked down the price to $50 a night. They started to cater to my needs with brand new towels, microwave, and other things. I am beginning to like it now (chicas love it) and hope to finish my stay here. As has been stated many times, there is no problem in bringing chicas. The staffs are very friendly and the location is really great. Most importantly, the quality of the playing field (the bed) is very nice.

The Maria Luisa Hotel is located only 1 block from Kennedy Park in Miraflores. Rooms start at 60 soles for simple up to 140 soles for the jacuzzi room with balcony & refrigerator. Breakfast is served in the room for only 10 soles more.

There is free computer w/ internet in the lobby. Wi-fi is available in the lobby & some rooms on the second floor. You must pay daily by cash only. There is a free porn channel on TV, maybe channel 110. They will also hold your suitcase if you only take a small bag to Cusco at no charge.

I stayed in Room 401, the Jacuzzi Suite. It has a huge comfortable bed.

You can see pictures here: http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showpost.php?p=798626&postcount=445

The hotel allows 1 guest at a time with an ID. So if you're planning a 3some, stay elsewhere.

Hello Client 9...try apartment club Peru, they have some openings. The manager is a very helpful guy also. I am staying in one of their property in December.

I'm thinking of bringing my laptop to Lima for my trip later this week (if all goes well). Is there a wifi in the hotel, or can you use other signals nearby, from your room?

You have to get a room very close to (or facing) the front desk or else you will be using your computer in the lobby. I don't remember what number those rooms are but you can explain your situation to them.

actually they have a pretty good pipe at the ml. much better speeds than i remember on the computer downstairs from 2005.

i'm on the second floor, all the way in the back. i can get a faint (2-5mbps) signal depending where in my room i'm at. if you're any closer to the front of the building, at least on the second floor, you should be okay. the signal is actually stronger about 5 feet the other side of the elevator, and 24-35mbps on the little couch by the stairs on the second floor.

the beds are still too hard, but i'm surviving so far. it's amazing that the prices for the rooms, and even some of the staff is still the same over 3-4 years.

This Plaza Hotel in the center looks like the kinda place I would like but it bothers me that it may not be chica friendly at night.

Can anyone else recommend a cheap place in the center that is chica friendly? I plan on having a steady stream of peruanas coming in and out of my room.

I don't care if it is in a seedy neighborhood. I only want something less than $18 a night and 100% chica friendly.

I stayed at a few places in Lima and this one was by far the best deal I’ve come across. Maybe because I didn’t find it in a guidebook.

It’s on Av. Nicolas de Pierola just a half block from plaza San Martin. For 50 soles a night you get a comfortable room with a bathtub, refrigerator and TV (probably only Spanish. I didn’t turn it on.)

I looked around a bit, and I don’t think you’ll find a better deal than this, although actually there’s a place a couple doors down towards the Plaza that has similar rooms for the same price. I think the only difference seemed to be the entrance. Plaza hotel has a large typical hotel entrance with a bar and restaurant and the other one you go up some stairs to get to the lobby. But the rooms seemed to be about the same and were the same price.

I think at one time this was one of the premier hotels in Lima when the center was more of the main tourist area. This hotel is a bit run down, but it’s clean (rooms are cleaned daily).

As far as bringing guests, I think it kind of depends who’s at the door. I think that goes for the price as well. When I first checked in I asked if I could get a discount for multiple days and the guy said no. I was too tired to bargain, so I just checked in. A few days later I hadn’t paid yet and the woman at the desk asked if I could pay. I said sure, but could I get a discount? I was hoping she’d knock like 5 soles off the total or something like that, since I figured I didn’t have much bargaining power after already staying there a few days. She said 40 soles a day. I said that sounded perfect. So a week there cost me less than $100.

If you want to bring someone back, I don’t think it’s a problem in the day, but there’s a fat lady working the desk at night who’s kind of a ballbuster.

You could catch a taxi to Hollywood Suites for less than 10 soles and Hollywood Suites is 50 soles, so you’ll still come out better than most places you’d stay in Miraflores. A taxi to Miraflores is about 10 soles. Getting around at night is pretty quick.

Drawbacks: I doubt anyone there speaks much English at all. Also the area is a bit sketchy. The block with the hotel seems alright, but the next block over away from the plaza is pretty seedy. There are ‘clubs’ here if you would call them that. I really wouldn’t recommend them. I went into a couple and I really felt like the white boy walking into the ghetto. These places make the Trocadero look like an upscale club. It’s kind of a trip watching everyone gather around the stage and gawk. It’s like a bunch of teenagers see a naked woman for the first time. They’re just in awe. Come to think of it, it was more fun to watch the spectators than the women.

I didn’t try the restaurant there.

Only one person has ever posted about staying in Lima Center. Might this suggest that maybe it isn´t a good idea. Also, if one was to read a little of the forum, one would discover that there are not hundreds but THOUSANDS of cheap hostales throughout the districts which make up Lima. Some charge $5. However, not having read any of the forum one would think that this refers to backpacker hostales like in Europe, and I´m too lazy to explain this once again. Maybe L.B. has more patience than I do.

I don't care if it is in a seedy neighborhood. I only want something less than $18 a night and 100% chica friendly.I'd say book a hotel for a 2 or 3 nights then go wander around on foot. The centro does have a few tourist hotels but you would need to verify the guest policy.

Be aware that after around 9pm the centro is pretty much dead minus the bars. You won't get good food available until 1am like in miraflores.

IMHO if you can find decent lodging in miraflores that would be the place to be. Miraflores is a nice place to arrive to after a day of slumming it in the centro or callao.

If you want a little more grit but would like to be close enough to miraflores "lince" would be the next best option but again going around on foot checking out rooms would be the better way to go about it.

Hey guys,

I will be making my first trip to Peru this feb. , have previously been to brazil and Argentina. I will be arriving very early, about 5 AM, and would like to fing a gf hotel in MF that I could get into the room early, say 6:30 AM or so, and would gladly pay extra for that so that I could rest for a few hours. I've noticed a few hotels recommended on the board, ML for example, is there any that are known for making this kind of arrangement? On another note, I see the r& v is open about 10AM on Sunday. How much of there staff is present then?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

I think the ML is pretty flexible. I've arrived early morning one time, and I think they charged me for half a day. Or, you could just pay for the cheapest room for one night, and then get whatever room you normally want.

The ML is chica friendly, but just make sure they have their ID. Or you could get a half day rate at a number of other Hostals in the area.

The ML is not bad considering it's your first visit to Lima and you want to get your bearings on where everything is located, as it is in the center of everything, right near Park Kennedy and Pizza Alley. But I was unable to sleep good on their lousy beds and there is no air condition, so the heat got to me. The ML is barely passable and after two days decided to try Las Suites hotel on Av Grau 466.

The place is so much better and offers much more value although I paid $50 dollars per night compared to the $33 dollars at ML. Try getting Room 801 or 701, they are both just as good with a view of the city. The breakfast is not bad, its more of a continental than a full blown meal, but they have fresh juices, coffee, and some croissants.

Yvonne the front clerk was nice and she initially quoted me $60 dollars but I told her my 'friend' stayed here for $50 and she agreed to match the price. Orlando the door/bellboy guy was very helpful in showing me where the local mart and laundry place were located.

The location is still within walking distance to Pizza Alley and I felt very safe in the area. For those familiar with BsAs, it feels like an up and coming Palermo district with many restaurants and stores catering to the local crowd but also some hip looking places as well. I had a menu, where you get a full meal with an appetizer for 8/S at a local place and it was decent. I also tried a nicer place where many business people ate at with a menu for 10/S. This place was very good. I had the Cebiche and Lomo Saltado and it was just as good as a more expensive place that costs about 100/S for two in another district.

The place is called El Fogon located at Berlin 421, Miraflores. Telephone: 242-6701, within walking distance of Las Suites hotel. Highly Recommended.

There's nothing like welcoming in the new year with a price increase.

Though it isn't in a tourist area, I loved this hotel. It's 60 to 70 soles per night. I think I was the only gringo there.- it's entirely local couples staying on an hourly basis, and therefore by nature, very chica-friendly. My room was a little run down, but large, light, clean, quiet, had a spacious hot shower, and featured a large mirror over the bed! The neighborhood in La Victoria is entirely residential, but cabs are easy to get (and priced for locals). Safe to walk except after midnight.

Much sought hotel in Miraflores. A stonethrow away from Parque Kennedy and the turistic ammenities. Due to reservations I moved from Junior suite to Senior suite to Double room. All were ok and I didn´t find the matresses to be hard. Only in the Double room I noticed noise (from the next room).

But BEWARE: this week they will replace the tiles on the floors. This means a helluva noise during the day. So if you plan to sleep till late due to a hangover or have a siesta in the afternoon with your babe, forget it! Oh, yes, don´t suffer from a migraine attack either during the day :(

I am a mid range budget traveler so I am always looking for affordable lodgings when I travel. The other day I was next door to the maria angola hotel and noticed a little hostel called "tinkus hostel". I was curious to see what the rooms looked like since it is located on a rather quiet street.

I saw a single and a matrimonial room. Although I was not overly impressed with the room sizes compared to the maria luisa. I thought it looked like an "ok" option if the ML was full or someone ran into problems elsewhere. Also you can reserve by email which *I have found difficult to come across in lima.

I asked about bringing visitors back and the front desk said it was ok. I would verify this a few times before making a reservation. You *will be on display. The hotel lobby is tiny. I am only posting this info to add to the list of possible options. I by no means regard this as a mongering hotel. It is just a decent looking place in miraflores for an ok price.

The rooms at the ML are a better deal hands down. This is just in case! I was told I could have access to the fridge in the lobby 24 hrs a day.

Not a bad area, but not an area for gringo's who don't speak spanish.
I have been by there, but never inside.

Read mixed reviews on it on other sites - and it's been around a while, but it is cheap - and close to a clubs, baños turcos, and Lince w/ unlimited putas - if you speak spanish!

(Also close to Av - El Rosa del Torro - if you like cheap ceviche !)

This discussion really shouldn't be on the hotel thread, although there is a hostal next door which is part of the spa.:

A guy was found dead and roasted in the dry sauna, as I remember, a couple of years ago. It is a block or two from J. Prado, I wouldn't consider the area very dangerous unless one is there walking around very late at night.

I had a nice threesome lined up the other night but I could not get by the front desk I have stayed there many times and I knew their rules about only one Chica but since I have been giving the desk girls fruit and always talking to them I thought I could beat the policy. OK I found a way but you must have a auto to use it. From the garage you can go right up the steps and aviod the lobby.
This hotel is starting to get on my nerves. They upped the Matrimonal rooms to 80 soles and another time I had a Chica who forgot her ID and the front desk girl would not let her up. The funny thing about this was I had taken this girl to lunch many times and always bought her fruit. I had to wait till the next girl came on and she let us thru. Since TR has went bad I see no real reason to stay here anymore. Of course if you like seeing all the Eco Turistas from France in the lobby, then you will still like the ML.
I should of taken David 33 advice and gotten an Apt. for the 30 days on this trip.

Member #4351

If the trip is focussed on chica activities, by all means RENT AN APARTMENT!! IMHO the best ones are the ones with an intercom and button to buzz the girls in, thereby avoiding the minimum wage doormen trying to impress the girls by asking who they are visiting, etc. However, even an Apt. with a nosy door guy beats all hotels except maybe the:

http://www.suitesaparthotel.com/

which has had mixed reviews, depending on which room the forum member ended up staying in. Its the only place I know of, (accepting a very few cheap ST hostals), where you can bring in more than one person at a time and there is no chica hassle.

I took David's recommendation and rented an apartment for one week from http://www.apartmentclubperu.com/. I strongly recommend their service. They make everything hassle free and the apartment I rent was just awesome. No trouble at all from the doormen. I did tip them once a while. David came to the front of the building but never came in.

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone has tried any options in San Miguel preferbly on or just off La Marina.

I recently went to Lima and stayed in ML in Miraflores (see my Lima report), but going again in a couple of months.

Basically anywhere from the Hospital - just before the nightclubs - from Tequila Rock/San Miguel all the way up to Elmer Faucett.

Why?

Its closer to Callao/Trocodero - it took around 2 hours to go from Callao to Miraflores in evening peak - slightly better going there cause I went at 3 or 4. I was going there nearly every day so might as well move nearer. Basically being at the bottom of Faucett should make it a 15 minute trip.

I want to explore the Cono Norte, Los Olivos, etc and I believe it's generally cheaper (food, entertainment etc).

Only a couple of S/ (not USD) Casinos with no craps tables... my biggest expense in my month there... Even USD 200 rolling bones on $5 tables every couple of nights added up to my largest cost in Lima, accomodation 2nd (S/ 70 per night) and chicas a distant 3rd. (S/ 120 every couple of days)

Not looking for much, just something similar to the single room at ML, with safety deposit box at reception or in room at the same or lower price (S/ 70 or lower).

Thanks

Staying in los olivos would be a bad choice IMHO. People live in los olivos because they have too..not because they want to. I think lince would be the best option besides miraflores although the only hotel that looked decent was hotel La Princessa next to the risso shopping plaza. Even still their rooms are $50-75.

Otherwise I think you will have many options all over lima but finding budget accomodations with in room safe and mini bar are hard to find in my experience.

As much as I hate seeing goofy eco tourists when I travel I still believe miraflores is where you want to be. Good food served until 1am and SW's around calle de pizzas when you get the urge. Also if you want to meet up with other mongers more than likely they will be in miraflores. I rented an apartment in san isidro for a month and I was all by myself. I didn't have enough options available to me...including internet cafes.

I ran into similar problems returning from callao for evening dates. Traffic is in any big city. You might want to consider taking a taxi from the troc to avenida tacna/arequipa for 7 soles then hop on a micro from there. You are still saving a good amount of money and some time...or plan your troc adventures on days you dont need to be back in miraflores at a specific time.

There are a few places on ave. colmena that you could stop by and have a drink until traffic dies down.

I think you would get tired of san miguel very quickly. La marina is cool but places are spread out ( like walking the vegas strip). I think you would be exhausted after a few days..maybe not.

ArtisttypNah money wasn't the problem... It was costing me less than 4 soles each way - 1 bus from Arequipa/Petit Thouars to Faucett/Argentina, then one up Argentina past Minka. Just the 2 hour journey annoyed me.

I never saw any SW in my time there and not planning on it (its too much effort, and considering I only do BBFS and everyone knows how SW's agree to anything on the street and then change their minds in the the rooms I find the chongos easier - if they change their mind in a chongo I'm only down 5 minutes and S/20 (or not even that), not an hour and S/100 or more for a SW).

I'm thinking San Miguel ground zero... like that one intersection where Plaza San Miguel is, theres like 3 shopping centres, half a dozen casinos, and the zoo within a block. Theres even an IPENA there where I can learn more spanish in the mornings.

$50-$70 is way out of my budget (S/160-220, no way) - especially when I was looking for alternatives to ML at S/70 - which I found. If I returned to Miraflores I have a few options at the S/40-S/50 mark. If it wasn't for the craps table, I would have spent under S/3000 total for just over 3 weeks there for everything.

Food isn't a problem as I will eat anything, from any chifa to people cooking antichochos in the street. Fine dining just isn't in my nature.

Plus I wouldn't mind going back to that row of nightclubs near there. A taxi driver took me there one night when I got to Trocodero too late and it was closed. I know its near there cause I remember just going past a San Miguel sign and the letters of 'Bellavista'. It was basically nightclub after nightclub mixed in with Hostals. If anyone knows the exact address of this place, could some one tell me?

Also want to try going to Anaconda/Station this time too. Like I earlier, I prefer 'Eat In' not 'Take Away' :)

I'm not big night owl either, I found a few 'bowls' after dinner gets you to bed around 9 or 10 :) Although I found the local natural stuff a bit weak to what I'm used to.

I've had a bit of a think about it since coming back - and really wouldn't mind trying a Lima without Miraflores/San Isidro.

I think you are refering to the clubs around the tequila rocks san miguel area. Polvo I believe has reported on them and I wandered into a few of them. I went early in the week so I didn't see much. From what I saw nothing really inspired me just a few girls asking for $10 beers then you work out a deal to go to the hostal. I guess if you are in the area and have the urge it could work.

I would love to hear abut your BBFS negotiations at the chongos. Can you elaborate a little? I only get BBBJ's but I'd love to hear what kind of responses you get from the troc girls. I get dirty looks just asking for bbbj's.

It sounds like you have the lima bug. I totally understand wanting to be in the ghetto far from the western world. I love the streets of lima...the action the music the hustle and bustle etc. It reminds me of old school bronx/harlem nyc which is almost all gone.

Have Fun

I stayed there long ago when I first came to Peru. At that time I brought in girls, but I imagine that things might have changed. Was pretty family and tourist oriented, not like most hostals which are basically ST places for Peruvians. Not cheap either. Probably a lot better options around. Once again, if you are staying for a week or more an apartment is your best bet.

Ok guys I am not sure this is a mongering hotel, I am sure that this is the place to stay with your Peruvian nice cute girlfriend. I didn't know it even though have been in Lima many times. It's called Duo Boutique, San Isidro, Valle Riestra 576. A 110 USD got me a gigantic suite with a roman hot tub, and direct entrance through the garden and the pool. Everything is well designed, chic and friendly. Don't even think in bringing a not nice girl here, I think that you may be ashamed. On the other hand if you bring your date, she will be willing to stay and enjoy this place with you. Best value for the price in upscale romantic stays.

Guys,

It will be my first visit to Lima and I've decided the Miraflores area is definitely the place to stay.

I found this Doubletree El Pardo hotel, which is quite convenient because I have Hilton points and miles which I can redeem there. Is it chica friendly? Has anyone of you stayed there before?

As the longest staying resident ever of this hotel (1 1/2 years).

I think I am qualified to comment.

Price the hotel is not cheap but if you call them ask for the sales department I am sure they will do a deal on price.

After staying this they are about 15% cheaper than the marriot and close to both Tequila and Calle de Pizza where the action is for most of you.

The hotel is girl friendly although they need to show there documentation when they arrive. The hotel photocopies their DNI in case of robbery.

I stayed in a Jr suite on the 3rd floor.

These rooms have both a 4 person jacuzzi and a sauna in the room.

A good excuse to get the girls naked.

Want to have a jucuzzi with me?

Guys, thanks for the great info and insights.

I would also be considering the JW Marriott as an option. If you had to pick either the Doubletree or the Marriott, which one would you choose? I'm not only talking about plain luxury or amenities, but chica friendliness, food, staff, rooms and, of course, a better value?

Marriott is nicer, more chica friendly, never tried the food(why would you). The location can be a positive or negative depending on time of year and style of mongering! If it is winter it sucks big time, but if you are into the casino/club scene it is great as it is all right there.

Carlos783,

If you have the money to blow paying the Marriott´s inflated prices (a member of the forum was spending around $90 a night a few years ago and now they want $280,) why don´t you send Jackson his $19.95 so that you can send and receive PMs? I was going to suggest that you stay in an apartment. Much better for mongering activities.

Carlos783
05-27-09, 16:42
David,

Of course I plan to buy a subscription. Now, concerning the mongering perspective, I don't think an apartment would be an option since I am going to stay there just for three days and my company will pay most of my expenses, which includes the hotel. So the price tag doesn't really matter when the corporate world pays. Maybe that's why America is where it is right now.

Peace.

Hello all,

I'll be in Lima next month and I'm considering a couple of nights on a wkend at ML for some hearty fun. I already have a place but I wanted something separate from home where I'll be staying. With the the grimm economic outlook I wanted to go out with a bang since I prob won't be back for a long while. I think I read before in this forum that ML is chica friendly so just wanted to confirm that. I'm also considering the room with the jacuzzi (150 soles). They also have matrimonial, Jr, Medium, Sr, suites ranging from 80-130 soles respectively. Would anyone know if the jacuzzi suite is worth it? Since I'm gonna be there for the intended purposes I wanted to get it just right.

Cheers,

If "going out with a bang" involves having more than one girl at a time in your room, forget about the M.L. Otherwise they are GF, but if the girl doesn´t have an I.D., forget about it..won´t get in.

The Suites hotel David33 suggested as girl friendly was exactly as described in all respects and there were no questions asked about visitors. Other than the jealous looks by some of the desk clerks the hotel has a clear look the other way policy which is the draw. For $60 usd per day you get a good size suite with decent bedding, a living area, kitchen and two bathrooms. A one way airport transfer is included (return option suggested). Please note that if you choose not to pay in cash the cc exchange rate used is 3.15 no matter the market rate. The included breakfast is a joke and the hotel has seen its better days but is pretty clean and on a quiet side steet.

I am a frequent guest of Las Suites Apart Hotel and I can confirm that is absolutely GF.
They will let your girl in, no questions, no extra charges.
At least if your girl does't look as a cheap hooker I assume there will be no problem.
The hotel facilities are not the 5 stars type, and rooms 301 and 302 are the best as they have jacuzi.
There is a fridge at the rooms, always empty and never works.
You have room servece available, but very few options, best idea is to order meals through delivery services. At the reception they will provide you with many delivery services phone numbers.
Breakfast is another bad issue, some coffe and juice (very few options) some bread slices with butter and no more that that. Somedays they have a horrible jam, better not to take it. Have your breakfast on another place!!
The hotel is walking distance from Parque Kenedy.
The good things are huge rooms and huge beds

Be CAREFUL with this hotel: One traveller (I know him) has been robbed the last week (Tuesday night of the other week): When he was not in his room, someone has forced his door and robbed all his valuables!

There is no security in this hotel. The rober take the caja fuerte, unbelievable story but true!

It is the reason of the cheapness of this hotel.

And ask to this hotel about this story it is fucking true.

It could be Belen Hotel or Plaza hotel, both are close to Plaza San Martin.
The first has very small rooms, it has lots of hot water, it costs 46 soles.
The second one costs 60 soles, hot water some times fails. The carpeting
is slightly run down.

I've just read a review on a hotel booking site that they are now charging "adicionales" for guests. Indeed 50 dollars for a TNL. This reminds me of Brasil. This used to be a GF hotel. Can someone confirm this? This hotel offered a good breakfast and the Club 21 restaurant was first-rate. It would be a pity to have to write it out.

Tes las americas is now charging for vistors.

Why new owner and...

Because tourist numbers are generally down in the world. The hotels have to drop their rates to compete. A way to make a little extra money is charge for vistors in cash. This then will not appear on the main bill and will not be a problem to most business visitors.

Best thing is to find a hotel that is girl friendly or even better an apartment if your are stay longer than a week.

I do not know of anyone who has stayed at the "Pardo location" but this has been going on for years at the others. Doc Bill used to complain about Las Americas Larco (until he got friendly with the manager) and Haco and others used to complain about the $25 fee at "bellevista". I would imagine like "Slyone" said that business is down and the "Dollar" has dropped 8% this year, so it is normal to look for other ways to increase revenue!

Right now I am staying in San Juan De Lurigancho with friends. On another note I have found no P4P in this section, and believe me I have tried. Ho whisperer, if that is your real name. No problem bringing back two chicks back at suites apart hotel, in fact I brought back 3 non-pros there this year (tho' I wouldn't push it); if you're coming in late, the door will be locked and I like to tip the night guy for waking him up even tho' that is his job. Also, a good idea to make sure your guests aren't rowdy/loud so this policy isn't changed!

I liked the hotel as the rooms were big and it was away from the main drag of pizza street in a quiet residetial street.

Cons: the room smell mildewy and the furniture looks like it came from your grandparents house which I think is the case for most three star joints in Lima; also I only whipped out my credit card once in Lima and that was at the hotel. When I came back home my cc company told me someone charged plane tickets to Ecaudor. Now it's not a sure thing it was one of the staff to blame; someone else could have gotten my info before or after my trip.

Who knows? Anyhoo, I would handle everything in cash when/if I go back to Lima.

The day staff at the hotel was very courteous and spoke good English. I would stay there again if I didn't have an apt locked up.

I stayed at the suites apart hotel *and did bring in two girls (non-pros). No problem. *Sadly we didn't have relations. We came in at 4am, the sleeping nite worker opened the door and let us in, I gave him a decent tip for waking him up, even tho the night shift is his job. Make sure the girls arent rowdy or loud so the policy doesn't change.

Even tho you didn't ask I'll give a longer review of the hotel for the benefit of others. *The hotel is in a quiet residential street away from the main drag of calle pizza/Kennedy park (10 mn walk). *There are many expensive private homes nearby, in addition to a wine bar, sports bars, nail/hair salon, chifa rests, and a supermarket 3 or 4 blocks away. Totally safe and upscale hood.

I stayed in a senior suite, w/ 2 bathrooms, sep liv room, bedroom and kitchen. The kitchen is pretty useless. I think there was a portable burner but no microwave as promised when I stayed. It's very spacious but the rooms smell a bit mildewy and the furniture looks like it's from your grandparents basement. But then that's why it's a 3 star. And not the Marriott/sofitel.

The free breakfast is just juices and rolls but the room service is pretty cheap where I ordered omelettes. The sTaff is very courteous and helpful.

One caveat: it was the ONLY place in Lima where I used my credit card, and when I came back home there were some unauthorized charges (someone charged plane tickets to another south American city). *I am not blaming the hotel staff. It could have been someone who got hold of my info before or after the trip. I'll never know. But I will always pay in cash, next time *as I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again *

What about the voltage in Lima? I was told they operate on 220v. Do most places have a converter that will step it down to 110v, or will I have to supply my own converter? It shouldn't be an issue with computer or cell phone as those power supplies usually have a built in converter rated from 100-240v, 50-60 Hz, but for things like my electric razor.

Sorry to hear you had problems with your credit card. I use my visa card all the time in lima and I've never had problems. Everyone should use caution when using one but they do come in handy.

More than likely people will want to shop in lima...silver,alpaca,cotton clothing etc. Using cash can get expensive when using an atm or unsafe if you carry alot while traveling.

Chase mobile offers me account info via SMS which keeps me up to date on recent transactions. If I notice anything wrong I can immediately call my CC company. I think if you call within a certain time frame you are only liable for $50.

Good luck, ho_whisperer. You are right, Artisttyp. In my case I don't do a lot of shopping, only thing I take back are memories and pics. Also, I think my cc charges a fee for int. Purchases so I don't know if it comes out cheaper in the end. You are certainly right about the safety factor. I might be a little more paranoid as usual as I recently noticed I misplaced one of my cards and found out some hood charged two grand on it over the holidays. In our paperless age we must vigilantly check our statements online.

Sorry for the double posting, thought the initial posting crashed and proceeded to rewrite the whole thing. Feel free to delete the first one.

Yes. You are correct. Credit cards charge what I believe is called a rate adjustment fee. It's more or less what the CC company charges you to convert dollars to whatever currency you are purchasing.

The fees are ALOT less when using CC's since you are cutting out the middle man (the local bank and/or your bank's double fee...debit transaction+ rate adjustment fee).

You have to go with a little of all three: cash credit and debit.

I personally feel safer with my credit card. My limit is nothing to brag about.

I also stayed at Suites Appartment on Av. Grau.

Pluses:

- easy walk to Malecon

- there is NO PROBLEM whatsoever in bringing guests in: they just don't care

- the appartment (mine was 801) was large: 2 bathrooms, kitchenette, 2 rooms

- concur with Lucles comments

Cons:

- hotel is small; difficult to get a cab to take you to the airport (cabs need a special permit which few have)

- pervasive mildew smell

- kitchen had a couple of pans and one glass; but no plates, cups or utensils

- even though I had emailed 3 times and called to confirm, they had no record of my reservation. No problem as they had space, but could have presented problems. They also never requested a credit card as guarantee.

- the bed spread on the second bed was a color that "hides dirt": I have no idea when it was last washed and whose DNA was on it. I avoided it as far as possible

- the curtains did not keep light out. I tried hanging the bedspread over the window but didn't work. Bring airplane eye-shades with you.

I paid a reduced special of U$50/night (so they said). You can pay in soles or dollars when leaving.

I would not stay there again.

Hi all!

I would like to ask the well informed if this hotel www.Marialuisa-hotel.com is girls friendly and/or there is a fee to pay for a guest. Is the suite a good value for money?

On the site it say that all the suite have a kichenette and microwave is it true? Or is better to just rent the matrimonial room and then eat out?

Is there a similar priced hotel that is more recomended and still girls friendly?

Sorry for all this questions but I hope some of you will answer them for me.

Thank you!

I've stayed in the suites many times. You better hurry because they get filled rather quickly. ML is about at GF as it gets as long as she has ID you have no problems at all.

Yes all suites have a microwave and minibar. Like any hotel it has some faults but the price and location are right on.

Friends, I took an apartment on rent in Miraflores. It is on main Jose Pardo avenue. Building number 537, very close to Vivanda, cafe 21 and lot of restaurants. The apartment has 1 bedroom, small kitchen, living area and 1 bathroom. Good security at the entrance. No problem in getting in the girls. Rent is USD 40 per day. Daily maid service included. Free cable internet.

Anyone wants to have a look at the apartment, please call me (997762613). If you want to rent it, please call Mr Elias Loo, cell 997430225.

Cheers!

Good day everyone -

I will be in Lima during the 1st week of May. I have checked for 1bdr apts on ACP and I noticed that none of the 1bdr's on ACP has Air-Condition. Is it a necessity to have air-con?

I have checked the weather and noticed that it does get chilly @ night. How about during the day? Do I need to have an air-con to survive the day?

Sorry to hear you had problems with your credit card. I use my visa card all the time in lima and I've never had problems. Everyone should use caution when using one but they do come in handy.

More than likely people will want to shop in lima...silver,alpaca,cotton clothing etc. Using cash can get expensive when using an atm or unsafe if you carry alot while traveling.

Chase mobile offers me account info via SMS which keeps me up to date on recent transactions. If I notice anything wrong I can immediately call my CC company. I think if you call within a certain time frame you are only liable for $50.Same thing happend to me earlier this year. I stayed at the Hotel Continental in el centro and it was the only place other than a couple of ATM withdraws that I used my debit card and had about 3k in unauthorized charges. My bank did not make me responsible for the charges, but either the hotel or the ATMs are not secure.

I am back from Lima and must now withdraw my report from two years ago recommending the Maria Luisa. At s/70 for the single and s/80 for the matrimonial, is now overpriced for the quality.

They no longer have the in-room safe. My matrimonial room was cheap and dirty. They have spiffed up the lobby but the rooms, at least mine, have deteriorated without improvement.

There are much better options for the budget traveler in Lince and the bus/taxi fares are cheap. I wish I had checked out the Hotel Tac before my last day, better quality at s/50 and just a 5 minute combi ride down Benavides.

Hi fellow mongers!

I'm new at this site and I am also a new member here. I will post as I finallies some scoores. For now I am making my plans for my trip to Lima in December.

I'm planning to stay and rent privat ensuits in hostels because of two reasons: nice prices and a lot of backpackers and singles just out for fun, as me.

I have never been in Lima or Peru before.

I would be very pleased if you could tell me if:

- this is chicafriendly places?

-It makes it okay to bring a girl, whatever whom, if I pay for two persons/night?

*hollywood

*kusillushostel

*Stop & Drop Lima Backpacker

*One Hostel

*The Point hostel

Maybe you have another ideas; I'm very thankful for that inf. Too.

I'm a man close to 40, very easygoing, and young kind of living, thinking and fit's in most arenas. If anyone is in Lima in December and like to have some company, just pm me. (maybe I will have a friend and his _wife! _ with me, but his cool and a pure monger too)

Thank you in advance for your help and I hope to meet some faces to all this names here.

On my first night in Peru I stayed in the Radisson Miraflores, having arrived late I called one of the escort services and had them send a girl. Got stuck with a USD 20 extra person charge, despite having booked for two people and the girl only staying for one hour. Not recommended.

I know of only one other ISG member who has ever stayed in a backpacker hostal. He had to go to a normal hostal (ST hotel) to meet any girls. IMHO its a lousy idea. But if you don´t have the budget, then you don´t have an alternative. I strongly doubt you will meet any others with this hobby at any of the places you mentioned.

I see, but I have problem to understand de logical and the argument in stopping you from bringing your woman to your room if you´re paying for her: It´s your woman and you are a person with serious problem keeping a longer relationship, but god, you are lucky in meeting new ones.

My budget doesn´t stop there, but I don´t like to pay 50$ and even more for a room in a country where familys can live for that oneday-rate for a month, and is a sum that I easily can find a hotelroom for, in my country!

The prices are, because peoples just pays without a second thought, it´s the same with the mongering-prices; where americans use to camp you can expect whatever prices. You need to bargain where you should only need to drop a nickle (no offence, only my 2 cents).

If I pay 25-30$ for 2 persons in a room with okay standard and private bath, I don´t think It´s a barging, but it´s a fair price and I can spend my money on more important things like; paying up my luckyness in love.

Is there a chicafriendly place I can pay the same amount of money, it´s taken. I´m greatful for advice.

Member #4351

OK, I won´t try to convince you. After your first night deception in a backpacker place, I suggest you go to any ST hostal...you will be able to get a room for around $20-$25 and bring in girls. Hotel Grimalni´s on Ave. Arequipa is probably best for you. There are alternatives further from Miraflores which are cheaper.

Unless he was refering to "Hollywood Suites" .. which does have cheap rooms...

As you suggested though - he's probably better off looking for something around Lince - either ST or using one there for his stay. But beware leaving anything remotely valuable in the rooms there.

But as a benefit - most of the hotels in Lince are chock full of working girls !

The list is bullshit and obviously copied from elsewhere (as is anything posted by Slyone without grammatical errors). Two members recently had girls refused entry at the Doubletree. The chicas had expired IDs. Since they weren´t going to the hotel to vote, the fact that the DNIs hadn´t been renewed was moot. The IDs proved they were over 18 and gave their personal information.

Sly One

The list is bullshit. All I can say to that. It is 1000% more helpful than than the list you didn't post.

But I have to admit the list is by no means perfect or complete.

And Yes.

Girls will need an up to date DNI card to enter just about any 5 Star Hotel in Lima.

Why?. You ask.

Because you can buy fake DNI cards in Av. Wilson for S/. 50.

The hotels in reality are just trying to protect their clients from being robbed.

As far as the Doubletree goes I think can speak with some authority about hotel being girl friendly. As I lived in this particular hotel for 1 1/2 years.

You think a girl is going to buy a fake ID with an expired date? You stayed at the Doubletree LONG BEFORE it became a Doubletree. So tell whoever wrote your list to update his information.

I don´t have to copy someone´s list (which you have a habit of doing), because when anyone asks I just tell them the truth; the only truly GF hotel where you can bring in more than one girl at a time and they don´t bust your balls with I.D. B.S. is: http://www.suitesaparthotel.com/ . Maybe your friends have a habit of robbing forum members...mine don´t.

I also tell everyone that first choice should always be an apt., (you only have to stay a week, NOT two), and to make sure they aren´t getting gouged on price. The fact that an apt. owner posts on ISG is no guarantee. The apartmentsclub guy however, can be trusted.

Thanks for the information. I think I will have a hotel the first night/nights and then rent an apartment for the rest of the time.

I was looking at the area Miraflores and Barranco and tried to figure out where is best to stay.

-Miraflores because it is safer and a gringoarea with lots of party-places, as I understand,

-Barranco has more beaches in walking-distances and lots of party going on too.

So, am I doing right if I rent something in the area of " parque de los heroes"?

That was not my intention.

I'm was only trying to help fellow mongers who do don't know Lima as well as we do.

I would also suggest your Suggested Hotel List contains more than one hotel?

People buy fake Ids for alot of reasons. Hide their Age, Bogus address just to name two. Yes. These fake IDs expire as well.

I never suggested your girl friends were going to rob anybody.

Although obviously their IDs were not in order.

Or

Not to the liking of the person inspecting them.

Again not my fault?

If so someone choices to stay in an hotel for one week or two is not my problem.

Many guys have reward points which they use on vacations.

Also some guys don't want to make their bed every day while on vacations.

And want room service etc.

It's their choice. Not mine or yours.

Enough said. Move on.

Unfortunately the only truly GF Hotel with reasonable prices in Miraflores; the SuitesApartHotel (http://www.suitesaparthotel.com/) has been sold and is shutting down Dec. 28. It was the only hotel which allowed more than one girl in at a time and never hassled female guests in any way. Given the lack of available properties and land in Miraflores, I imagine that the hotel has been purchased by a multinational group. Now, more than ever any members traveling to Lima should try to come for a minimum of 7 nights in order to stay in a short term apartment rental.

The maria luisa has raised their prices enough to make it NOT worth the money. You could take that same money and rent an apartment. However if you aren't able to be on the ground looking you will soon realize that self service apartments are more expensive than their hotel counter parts.

The more time you spend in Lima the better your options become. I just hate arriving without knowing where I am staying. Its getting too complicated for me.

I have been in Lima for a few weeks and I don't understand all the problems you seem to have to find cheap hotel rooms to fuck. I don't do pay for play, but hooked up with many normal girls, and each time, just asked a taxi to bring us to a cheap hotel and they do it. 50 soles a night seems to be the price. The rooms are horrible, but just to fuck it doesn't really matter. (at the reception they just ask my I'd that I take back when I leave). I did this both in miraflores and in barranco. (one hotel was even sellign condoms at reception. And each time I could hear other couples fucking through the walls.) I would never stay in these places though of course, just for the time of the fucking and then you want to get the hell out of there cause it is really horrible (what works well for me is : Sleeping in a good backpackers place, and going to these shitty cheap hostels to fuck when I hook up.)

) has been sold and is shutting down Dec. Thanks for the info, David_33. Sad news indeed. My issue with renting an apartment as many have suggested is that in my future trip to Lima, I will probably spent 4-5 days in the middle of the vacation traveling to Cusco, Iquitos etc. And will be in Miraflores on only two book-ended weekends. Not sure then if an apartment will be cost-effective.

Almost impossible to get an apartment for just a couple of nights. If you want to be with more than one girl at a time (two bi-girls, or a mother / daughter duo) , and aren't in an apt. you can forget about the so-called "Girl Friendly Hotel lists", they won't get in. The only alternative is to stay in a normal place and then get a couple of rooms at a ST hostal, or just stay in a more or less hotel which has 12 hour cheap rates. Then you have your room and just get another cheapo room for the second girl. If you stay for example, at Hotel Grimalni's on Ave. Arequipa in Miraflores, you are fairly close to all the action, can get a room for around $20 - $25 a night and they have 12 hour quickie rates for your second chica.

Another forum member is staying at the Suites Larco 656 and says no problem with visitors. He just asked about temporary visitors when he made the reservation. So "GF hotel lists" with less than 10% of hotels listed are of not much help. Just give the place you are thinking of staying a call. Now if you are part of a tour group, things can get sticky. Some of the places these groups stay aren't GF. In this case, the best alternative is to find a cheap place like the one I mentioned above, and have your fun there.

If you have bucks and want a truly great apt. rented by a guy who doesn't rip off ISG forum members (even gives them a discount) , (apartmentsclubperu is OK as well) , check out the sticky on my forum ( http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showthread.php?3131-Super-Apartment ). There is a member staying there now and he is more than happy with the place. The girls are thrilled when they see the views from either of the two balconies of this NEW apartment with jacuzzi.

I have used this trick in the past. If you have a good Wingman and he is not going to be in action for a while then I would have him bring up the other half of my threesome. Of course this is a little bit of a pain in the ass for him as he has to also walk her back down to the lobby when everyone is ready to leave the hotel. Like I said you need a good Wingman for that kind of favor. Much better to rent a apartment and then you are free to do as you please, but in the case of guys staying only a few nights then this is a way around the problem.

GF situation:

2 for 2 so far but I went down both times whereas at Suites Apart they simply called me and sent the girls up. They require I'd after 7pm and today I'll hopefully get to see if they don't require I'd in the afternoon.

Other:

Location is near perfect (on Larco between Benavides and Schell)

Room quailty is good / up to date (I didn't get a suite so not as large as Suites Apart)

Bathroom / shower is good (no bathtub) /hot water great / extra towel (for guest)

Price s / 135 matrimonial bed double incl good breakfast.

I'll update after I find out how the afternoon access goes.

Suites Apart was a great place for the first part of my trip-safe / convenient location, allowed multi-girl visits, included 6pm late checkout, inexpensive. However, when I checked out, the front desk worker said they were cancelling my reservation for the back half of my trip as the building had just been sold and was closing within a week. She was also a travel agent so she gave me her card and helped me find Suites Larco 656 (see separate post) , including verifying for me that it was GF.

The Suites Apart booking agent wrote to me a day before I returned to Lima to officially notify me that they had were closing for renovations and provided me an alternative (Colonial) at a higher price. If you have stayed at the Suites Apart it shouldn't surprise you that someone would want to upgrade the place given its dated interior and location. Assuming it stays a hotel (vs. Condos) , the room rates undoubtedly will go up significantly when it reopens and I can't imagine it will be quite the same for GF as before. Definitely a loss.

Thanks for the post. Couple of questions for you:

Do they clean the room and change the sheets every day?

How is the force or flow of water in the shower? Is it limp or pretty strong?

Do you get street noise at night?

Thanks!

... The girls I took back there didn't want to leave, and if he puts a jacuzzi on the roof terrace as he said he might, I would move right in. I can just imagine a rooftop terrace with jacuzzi and view of the ocean...I have the same thoughts exactly every time I find myself looking at the pics of that condo. Although in all fairness, a nicely-sized jacuzzi got to cost an arm and a leg in Peru, so whether it would be a solid investment is questionable. And then, of course, there is hot water which will be used in a higher volume with a jacuzzi on site. Yikes!

You are correct! Not to mention weight considerations, sanitation issues, permits, hauling it up 16 flights of stairs to find out it won't fit through the doorway and you need to bring in a Helicopter!

Here is a photo of the "newly designed" terrace. We normally charge $150. 00 per night, but ISG members only pay $120. 00 per night.

I also have a few nights open next week and if anyone is in town you can have them for $99. 00 per night!

An update now that my stay is complete:

I definitely had the sense that I was pushing their limits with my regular visitors (6 over 72 hours). The front desk guy apparently made an off comment to my last guest that upset her a bit, which was very disappointing and totally inappropriate. So if you are going to have a lot of traffic, I would NOT recommend this place as it's pretty small (probably 80 rooms) and they pay too much attention at the front desk. They were strict on checking IDs but were a little flexible a couple of times as long as the girl could provide them sufficient contact information to satisfy them. I cancelled one youngish looking visitor who was 18 but without I'd as it didn't seem practical under the circumstances. I would not try 2 girls at once here. I think this place is good. But only for very short stays or if you only plan on bringing someone in occasionally.

- Room cleaning / new sheets every day. Given I was doing two a days, I sometimes found the cleaning cart and exchanged towels with them directly.

- Hot water was fine and water flow was pretty good. Bathroom overall was a big plus vs. Suites Apart.

- My room was top floor interior so no street noise. If you have a room facing Larco, there could be a little noise.

- One other major miss is no in-room safe. They have a central safe with interior boxes that I used for my documents. I didn't have a laptop with me, which would not have fit. They do have 3 internet computers available for free.

- Breakfast was included in my rate and pretty good.

- I paid for a double room but their general set up seems to be a combo room with a double in front, then the bathroom / closet, and a twin room behind. I used the twin room for my clothes. They seem to control # of guests up front.

- My room did not have a fridge and had to go around the corner to metro to buy ice. They do offer larger suites that I believe have a small fridge.

Hope this helps.

So I would assume they I'd check 24x7 here.

I have decided to rent 1 bedroom with 2 double beds available in my 11th floor 3 bedroom apartment located on the Malecon (overlooking the Ocean) in one of the safest parts of Miraflores. Apartment has spectacular 180 * view of the ocean. Apartment is 5 min from Kennedyt Park, Larcomar and walking distance to 5 of the best restaurants in Lima. You can bike, run or walk on the Malecon from here for miles. Also, skating platform located in park right in front of my building.

No problem inviting guests (from 1:00PM and after) as long as I am aware they are coming. Also, I have several wonderful contacts I can put you in touch with for some fun. I have a roommate who has the 2nd bedroom but he is cool (he is not a member of ISG so a certain amount of discretion will be greatly appreciated). Breakfast only is included, but you are welcome to cook your own food for lunch or dinner. Please remember that I live in a luxury family residential building with a 24 hr doorman, so no outlandish public behavior outside my apartment will be tolerated (I respect my neighbors).

This is the 1st time I am offering this room, thought I would give it a try since so many of the members are worried about a nice safe place to stay at the last minute.

Availabilty starts Jan 11th. When you pm me please also provide a regular email so I can send you photos wihout sizing issues.

This is for Senior ISG Members only, room rate is USD$100 / night (CASH ONLY, MINIMUM 1 WEEK STAY PAYABLE UP FRONT) with breakfast included. PM me for additional details & Photos. Therefore, you will need to pay Jackson his membership fee in order to be able to PM me.

Sly. P. S. I make no commissions from this list or recomendationsSly or David_33 what about the Hotel Maria Angola as GFH?

I used to stay there regularly and never had problems bringing 2 girls in at anytime and its a good location. The key was just to tip the concierges and the deskstaff never said a word. Only the rare occasion when we were very late did they even ask for I'd. I was last there in Dec 2009 and the prices were a bit higher than some of the other monger hotels discussed but you used to be able to negotiate the price. And sometimes you get lucky, I got the Presdential suite for 4 days at $120, it has a proper sauna. 4 or 6 person jacuzzi and a separate large bathroom.

Sure it's reviews aren't the best but most of them were written by Marriott Hotels types, for a monger I think its pretty decent.

As for apartmentsclubperu I strongly recommend them, I've had some very nice apartments from them. The service was good & friendly. And the owner comes down and meets you himself at the apartment and introduces you to the apartment owners a very nice touch especially if your spanish isn't the best.

A couple of guys from ISG have stayed at the María Angola and not had any issues. I'm not sure about being able to bring in two girls, once again an apt. Is better than any hotel IMHO. María Angola has been around for a long time, and the guy in charge is certainly not a saint, so you're not going to run into any "written in stone" problematic situations, like at other places. A 10 or 20 sol tip, goes a long way.

I tend to agree with David_33 about getting an apartment vs a hotel. Since I've been to Lima twice (and about to get there for a third time) , and every time has been less than a week, there are limited apartment options. However, I had very good luck with the InnPeru website (innperu dot com) and the folks running the business are very nice as well. Their minimum booking is 4 days rather than a week, and you pay up front via paypal. The apartments range from $35 per day to $75 per day. I booked the cheaper places (about $40 per day) , and they are not high end, but they are functional and located fairly well within Miraflores (many of them are in a building on Alcanfores. 2 blocks from Alfredo Benevides). My walk to Park Kennedy from Alcanfores was about 5 minutes. I also stayed on Larco across from Bembos. Similar walking time. This time, their apartments seemed to all be booked, but I emailed them and they were able to rustle up a place for me from the 15th to the 20th for $37. 50 per night. Recommend.

I guess I had a little too much Pisco Sour that night, JAJAJAJA.

The view today from here was so awesome I invited one of my regulars over for some nude sunbathing on my terrace, it's great because no one can see anything going on including a BBBJ, CIM and a wicked sunburn were the sun don't usually shine!

I would love to check out your Penthouse sometime when it is not rented. Sounds like a fantastic place.

As for Allpa hotel at $60 per night for the basic room it has a few things going for it. Great location 4 minutes walk to Kennedy Park. Simple rooms are quite nice and fairly spacious with comfortable queen bed, safe, minibar, flatscreen TV, AC. Decent buffet breakfast.

But the $20 guest fee that I foolishly didn't inquire about makes it a no-go if I ever do return to a hotel again in this city.

Given the above information I will plan ahead and try to book with Innperu next time for any under 1 week stays.

If I was going to pay $45 for a place like Las Palmas I might as well had've paid an extra $5 for a top of the line place like that. You can say you have lived once you have bent a chick over his balcony overlooking the ocean. And he cooks well too! Go there.

Hello, is the Thunderbird Hotel. The one with the Fiesta Casino attatched Chica / pro friendly. Thanks allThe problem with this place is as you have already mentioned is that it has a casino attached.

You think Thunderbirds are going to put their multmillion dollar casino operaton and license at risk because a one off guest wants to get lucky with a girl.

I don't think so.

But if you are super discrete you may get away with it?

I published a list of Girl friendly hotels some time ago but here it is again.

Sure there are other G / F hotel and apartments and as I said before I am prepared to update the list when and if other people find other hotels / apartments good value and girl friendly.

Hello, mates.

I heard that there are some noise issues with Maria Luisa recently. They have some construction works near hotel during the whole day. Has anyone been there recently? How noisy is it?

Is there any other chica friendly hotel in the same area, for same prices?

Thanks IN ADVANCE!

Thanks IN ADVANCE! If it's noisy at the luisa it could be pretty bad. I've been there several times when something was going on noise wise.

I've done pretty well in the jr suites because there is a separate bedroom that engulfs you in a little nest. It has a door between you and the living room area. However if the noise is coming from the left side of the building (providing you are in front of the building facing parque kennedy) then you will be right in harms way. If work is being down within the hotel the situation might be different.

One way to travel (but it sucks to carry!) is to have a white noise loop on an MP3 player that repeats all night. You will also need decent portable speakers and an MP3 player that has a repeat cycle. I use that and 33db ear plugs by HERO (drugstore. Com or amazon. Com). Don't forget to bring hair clips to keep the shades closed. Another sleep wrecker.

Don't let the bedbugs bite! Or the stains on the sheets bother you in any way. Snuggies. Com

Thanks for a great tips and information. I loved the hair clips! . I always miss it somehow and forget to bring. This time I won't!

It is a hassle to make white noise in order to get some sleep. This should be my vacation and not some boyscout field trip. However, my cell phone has a built in speaker. That should do the job.

Let's say I want to skip ML, what are the other options? I have only 3 nights in a role and can't take apartment. Are there other decent hotels in that area similar to ML?

I have seen "Sly Ones Hotel List. Doc" but it looks outdated to me. I've sent email to 2 hotels from the list and no reply yet.

Thanks again to everyone that helps!

It sounds like PMing other members might be of a benefit to you. Why not sign up as a senior member?

Trust me central at night is no place for newby gringo.

Highly sugguest you unbook it and book into Doubletree or Marriot both in Miraflores.

Miraflores is a safe area at night where central Lima in unsafe in the day and at night is nearly a no go zone to a newby gringo.

Never was stopped or asked any questions. YMMV. We came in together at all times (she didn't come asking for me at the front desk or anything) and by this time in the week I was a familiar face with the security staff. Of course she wasn't a "working girl" and did not "appear" as one.

Not sure if this was a matter of the hotel policy, or just my good fortune.

I only had one night in Lima and stayed the in the Crowne Plazza, the hotel was nice enough, David33 organised a Chica who arrived pretty much on time escorted up by a hotel staff member, it became clear pretty soon that neither of us had condoms, so the Chica rang reception and they delivered a packet.

The Crowne Plazza is defiantly girl friendly and when I scanned the bill I could not figure out if they had charged me for the condoms, if they did it was such a small amount and discreetly billed that I could not find it.

I have to add to the chorus of thanks to David33 for his efforts and ability to organise, many thanks.

I think next time I get to that part of the world I will take longer, maybe a week and get an apartment to really enjoy the Chica action.

Best regards

I stayed in the Hotel Melodia in San Miguel for several days last year. Great hotel, good breakfast, WiFi, hot water and comfy beds. The WiFi is not great in the rooms, but was able to make decent VOIP calls. Had no issue with bringing my chica to the room, however not sure about bringing more than one to a room. The location of the hotel is on Av La Marina in San Miguel. Within walking distance there are two or three massage spa's that offer full service. Also, within walking distance is the Plaza San Miguel Mall. Great place for meeting locals and most likely you will be the only gringo there. I sat outside of Starbucks at the mall having a smoke and coffee and within 30 minutes spoke to several cuties asking for a light. Additionally, there are several banks and Chili's restaurant next door to the hotel. Last year the price was 130 soles per night. Good bargain. The decor is comparable to hotel Bolivar with an vintage antique vibe. Anyways, on my next visit I will stay here just to escape the tourist traps of miraflores. Just my two cents.

Ciao,

Alpha

I've been staying at Peruapartments and have had no problems bringing chicas back. I paid about $450 / wk for a 1 br apartment with big LCD tv in both the lounge and br. The biggest problem is the noise from av 28 de Julio right outside. If you stay here ask for a room not facing the street.

I was only going to be in Lima for 4 days and with a midnight arrival and 4am departure an apartment wouldn't have been the best fit. I had plenty of Hilton points so stayed at the El Pardo Doubletree in Miraflores. They were girl friendly with no extra charge. The lobby is usually busy and I wasn't sure if the girl David33 was kind enough to arrange for me would just come right up the elevator. She went to the front desk first and gave or showed them her I'd and they called me to make sure it was ok to send my friend up to my room. The minibar is a ripoff of course, but the hotel is located close to a couple grocery stores. Pretty nice buffet and made to order omelets for breakfast.

That is really up to the administration of the building complex. Over the past year it has been noticed that security has tightened up in most of the apartment buildings and names of guests have been requested by the porters. I am sorry that I cannot be more helpful on the matter but it is out of our control." Anyone have any specific apartments that have been successful lately? Or other places to stay? Would love anyones experience to speak up.

That is pretty normal in Peru.

The person at the front desk, the porter wants to know who is entering and leaving the building so if any thing goes missing they know where to start looking.

Also Peru is an earth quake zone and there is a Defence de Civil requirement to know how many people are in the building at any given time in case of fire / building collapse.

So I would worry about it.

A building porter has not got the authority to refuse one of your guests unless they do not have identification.

Sly

ThanksI used ApartmentClubperu in Aug / Sep last year and did not have any issues with guests coming to the apartment (in Miraflores). I only had one visitor at a time but it was almost daily. They do have to be buzzed in and usually the porter would ring (intercom) the room to let me know someone was there to see me. They would then send them up.

Hello all,

I'm one of the partners at ACP and have been a member here for years. My partner is aware that we get inquiries from ISG but is not a member and is not as "open minded" (he he he) as I may be. I'm single (actually divorced) and he has been happily married to a Peruvian for many years.

What he states is correct, recently the doormen, porters in some cases have been a little more strict when it comes to allowing unidentified guests. This is more for YOUR protection than "official" building rules. They may require an I'd to provide a little more security from some un-savory women that have been known to leave with items either from the apartment or the client.

You should also realize that the apartments listed are privately owned by individuals, not ACP, and the owners are concerned about appearances. As long as you are respectful and your "guests" are respectful you shouldn't have any problem. You must realize these are "residential" apartments and not the same as a hotel. Would you act differently at a hotel or your own home?

I can't state this for each and every property, and this is not an endorsement from ACP, but we haven't received many complaints in the years we've been operating ACP. There have been one or two complaints of noise or un-professional behavior and we take these seriously and notate client records for future booking requests.

Once again, please do not take this as an endorsement or a condemnation of ACP. Act professionally, respectfully when having guests and you shouldn't have any problems. Think of apartments rented through ACP as your "Home away from home" Act accordingly.

Flyingace.

A few of the nice ones have been known to actually let a guy have two girls in at the same time. However these have been high status members in the hotel's rewards program.

I own an apartment and due to rising crime, the portero is checking I.D.s and writing down names. So this is no big deal. That said, I have recommended ACP to more fifty ISG members. Recently a guy complained to me that he was told by the person he contacted at ACP he couldnt have any guests in the apartment after 11:00 p.m. Of course this is not only ridiculous, but completely illegal in Peru. Once you rent a place you have practically the same rights as the apartment owner. I told the guy to check and he would find the same apartment on some other site, he did and he rented from the other place. So ACP lost a commision. Whoever is telling guys who want to rent an apt. that they cant have guests after 11:00 should be controlled. FlyingAce, I suggest you buy this guy out or tell him to stop being an idiot.

Two apartments that I am looking at are on 895 Avenida 28 de Julio, Miraflores, Lima, which is a 3 year old building and beautiful apartments with pool, sauna, gym, pool room, home theatre etc and only $50.00 / night. The others are on Alcanflores close to major hotels, older building and just the apartment for $45.00 / night. I am liking the Parque Miraflores apartments on 895 avenida 28 de Julio. Would that be too far from entertainment? Thanks.

I have been reading your advices about hotels and appartements. I have booked a double room in Radisson Decapolis Miraflores which is very expensive. Usually bigger hotels give you less problems with girls. Is this hotel ok? I can still cancel the booking. How is it with the appartements do they clean this appartements also every day. I like it clean with new girls. I see that you help to get some girls. How does it work?
Thanks for you help.

Another ISG member just stayed there and got socked $60 extra each time he had a visitor. I'm not sure if he booked for two, or what the situation was. However two other GF hotels which are in the same price range would be the Sonesta on Alcanfores or the Doubletree on Independencia. If you have deeper pockets the J. W. Marriott is 100% GF as well.

In order to be in touch with me, you will have to pay the ISG membership fee. That way you can send and receive PMs.
