Got to BKK from Pattaya yesterday afternoon, mini van dropped me off at the Nana Hotel which unfortunately was booked full and a reservation I did not have. They advised me that the Nana Thai Mansion down the road had rooms available for 1200 BHT/night so I took one of their hotel cars down there for 50 BHT. I wouldn't recommend this place, the rooms are not that nice plus it's all the way at the end of Soi 4 so it's kind of far from everything. I checked out the next day and checked into a smaller hotel much closer to NEP for 700 BHT/night.

Took a stroll around NEP around 8pm. This was my first time there, as I usually stay at the Pennyblack hotel and hang out on Soi Cowboy. Now, it might just be my imagination but once I got to the second floor it seemed like there were ton's of Ladyboys there. Which is fine but that's not my thing so I was kind of hesitant to go in any of the bars on the second floor. Third floor didn't look much better and I didn't see anything I liked on the first floor either... although I only strolled around outside and didn't go into any of the bars. I know it was still pretty early and maybe it gets better later on but I was horny then so I decided to head over to Aviva, off of Soi 8.

As soon as I opened the sliding door at the bottom of the stairs I heard the girls getting up from their little lounge area and heading to the bullpen so I hustled up the stairs trying to see them while they were still on their feet. Take the bus right to Pattaya from the airport and stay at a hotel right by the water. You don't even need reservations. Many moons ago i seem to remember reading several articles about taking a boat to some islands that were relatively secluded. Essentially you would get dropped off with your lady (or ladies) for a day or several days and run naked like nature intended. Unsure about having to take camping equipment, I think if there were accommodations they were spars. Any way the local fishermen would stop by with fresh fruit and the catch of the day or you could request (X) for your meals and of course beer Etc.

Its almost in front of Grace hotel in soi 3 . its an after hours bar with great band and dancing and the drinks are reasonable specially the tequila . There is a new bus terminal at the new airport. You can catch a free shuttle there. Not sure where to catch the shuttle, I assume out in front from where you exit arrivals. There are help/information desks around just ask and they will point you in the right direction. I took the Sukhumvit bus to Soi Cowboy once (well the soi across the street from Jasmine Plaza) and the same bus runs all the way down to Nana. They will stop anywhere you want basically along the route. Just make sure you are watching because they may pass your requested stop.

You can see the bus terminal from the BTS station at Ekkamai. An efficent service if you don't fancy using the taxi.

Nana area--take the skytrain to Ekamai station --this will be the bus station also by the same name.
Depending on the time of day, bus leaves for Pattaya every 30min or 1hr.
Trip will take about 2hr 30min on average-with some traffic.
Price much cheaper than taking a taxi.
Only disadvantage is once you get to Patts, will need to take either tuk-tuk or baht bus to your hotel.

Fellas, thanks for all the help and responses on my question on how to catch the bus from the Nana area. I certainly will try all the recommendation at some point this year including taking the bus from the airport, and sharing a ride with another monger. But right now I'm so burned out from all the work I had to do for my family while coming back to the states I want to just relax and spend sometime alone. I have a heavy load when I get to Pattaya so I plan to spend 24 hours in Bangkok, visiting the US Embassy, Tulip, Sanzaka, haircut, foot massage, Angel Disco.. etc.. I'm doing more work now that I have retired and plan to relax on the bus and take in the local experience. Going standby to the LOS, so wish me luck...... hopefully I'll be in town by the 21st of this month. A pimp is a pimp is a pimp. And as someone who has spent a lot of time in the "expensive" hotels, I can tell you that the hotel management would spot you in about a minute. While they don't mind the girls coming in (good for the bar business), a pimp working inside is not something they would tolerate. In most high end hotel bars, they know all of the regular working girls. A couple of strange filipinos would stick out like a sore thumb.

You are right that some of the Soi 33 bars do give off a cold standoffish feel. Not sure why they do that. There are some attractive woman there, but a fair number do not speak english at all. Lookie Lookie is one of the better bars in Soi 33, and they have the same rule like Livingstone's, that the girls are NOT ALLOWED to approach customers first. You must ask them to come, establish eye contact, smile etc. etc., and they will come.

On the other hand Lookie Lookie has a complete different customer group (from many other bars in Soi 33). Their customers are mostly Australians and friends of the owner, who was managing some major companies before, and then retired running this bar. It is not a typical Soi 33 bar.

I don't really know what went wrong, but I know that this bar is basically ok, no rip-off, and there are some nice ladies working there who take good care of customers. May be you try again, or you come here to Livingstone's and pick me up, and then we go there together.

This is an introductory report, as I have just become a member, though by no means am I new to Thailand. I first came here to sample the bars and massage parlors on R&R from Viet-Nam in 1966, and lived in Bangkok from 1973-1977, after which made many return trips, and now have retired and have lived in Korat for nine months.

I find some of the reports herin very useful, and as a result of reading them, have tried Sazanka (fair) and Akane (very nice). Not very familiar with Bangkok now, but manage to get down there every 4-6 weeks, and always enjoy it. I am fluent in Thai, so I don't need English-speaking girls.

Soi Cowboy is a lot of fun, particularly Shark's, Dollhouse, and Long Gun. Have taken 4 girls for LT at 2500 per, and was very pleased with all of them as they all wound up staying until after lunch....great GFE. They try to give an upmarket impression but lack a warm feel. Part of the idea is you can go there without being molested and that the girls are 'better, not same' and big barfines are meant to reflect this. Ex-pat punters, sometimes not the most endearing people, contribute to the frosty atmosphere and the girls can be aloof, often not approaching unless required. Even refusing if they choose to.

In almost 20 years of enjoying LOS I've only once had aggravation & that was with a Scottish guy in one of those bars. An executive type whom I wasn't even talking to, he turned on me and became hostile. He didn't like that a girl who was with his blazer-clad drinking buddy quietly let me know she'd be available another day. Okay, but this is Thailand.

Although a long while ago the experience left a bad taste. Soi 33 bars are clearly popular but, for me, I give them a wide berth.

That old joke gets brought up over and over, and having several friends who are Japanese nationals, I will say that they are aware of the joke and obviously are not as amused by it. Yes, they do read these boards, and that's why I jumped in. For some reason, it's one of those jokes that at it's core is racist in nature, yet always seems to get a free pass. I do see the humor in it, just be aware that not everyone may feel the same way.

I like the Soi 33 bars as a change of pace, so I do go to the bars on every visit to BKK. While I understand that they want to remove the bar girl hassle aspect, it would be nice if the girls or bartenders would acknowledge the customer in a warmer fashion. I can't recall the name of the bar that has the small stage and pool room in the back right corner, but I usually break the ice there by playing pool with a couple of the girls. It seems that once the ice is broken, you can go back to the bar and they will bring other friends over.

I always dress accordingly, on the nights that I go the Soi 33 bars.

Is anyone familiar with the Pent Exclusive or Executive Club? I was taken there by some business associates, and we had some drinks. There's a big stage, a pool area which no one was using, and a lot of attractive woman. The one thing that I did not see, was any of those woman leaving with the customers. It was my first meeting with the guys, so I did not feel comfortable asking.

From a recent Google search, the basic info on this place is that the establishment fee is based on number of drinks. On regular days, it is 10 drinks at 350 Baht per drink. On the weekends (Fridays and Saturdays) it is 15 drinks. Sounds pricey, but always looking for something different.

Anyone with actual experience?

Had to make an urgent trip to SE Asia and will be stopping in BKK for 2 nites, 1 full day. Arriving on 14th Midnite and leaving on early 16th. Since it was an urgent trip, I don't think I will have enough time to do my research that I hopes somebody could help me (If you got some info on hand)

I've been to Lookie before (maybe less than 2 years ago) and agree its not a rip off place. Didnt add anything to my bill other than what I ordered and no harrassments from any girls for drinks etc so made for a relaxing evening. I am never sure of all the gal policy at any one bar but in general:
It occurs in 2 ways,
1) when you enter a bar, gals will surround and harrass you for everything you have in your pocket
2) gals will leave you alone and thats when you should single out who will keep you company.

Apartently over the last few months police rounds ups have had an effect on

yes, freelancers are nearly eliminated globotto, which is incredibly detrimental to service and price overall. as to what happens to the girls, i have always wondered how many of them are raped by the police. certainly thai police would have no interest in the older or less attractive women, but they no doubt force themselves en masse upon the younger, prettier, and foreign ones.

if you think about it the fines - even 1,000 baht - are insufficient to eliminate the trade, since this is far and away the most profitable job available to a lower class person in the kingdom. there must be some other factor such as unseen brutality at work.

You have no idea of the existence of the local mafia's and how little it would cost to kill you if you infringed on their business.

Also how little your 'girls' would sell you out once they get caught when the local girls complain to police about the loss of business.

If you were a local thai mafia then maybe your plan would work. If you did it yourself I wouldn't be suprised about reading that you either ended up in the Bangkok Hilton or in one of its garbage dumps.

in bangkok, i guess it depends on your tastes, but here are some suggestions:

soapies: definitely recommend poseidon and/or copacabana. top of the line, nice selection and sideline girls. with the sideline girls you can drink and get to know them and maybe find some chemistry. take the subway and save some aggravation from the traffic. others in the area include emmanuel and cesaers. catherine and colonze on rama ix, cp2 on sri ayudhya road. plaza entertainment on petchaburi road is ok, but cupidy next door is considered a ripoff. taxi drivers get a kickback. most places are 1,700 - 2,700 baht, and higher for the sideline girls and high end girls. price range depends on the size and quality of the establishment. tips range from 200-500 baht norm, although i have seen higher numbers mentioned.

massage: 24 hour: sabai sabai across from the ambassador hotel, for 24 hour massage with extra's. incall or outcall. all the girls i met offer extras. in house hj only and takeout many offer fs. it's on the lane behind the 7-11, so you can't see it from the main drag. i believe that's soi 11. the prices are 600-900 baht depending on time. the girls ask about 500 baht for the hj and 1,000-1,500 for fs. pricey, but it is a 24/7 option. mixed reviews, but i have never had a problem there.

oily massage: there's tulip near the thonglor bts. there are several options on their menu, including fs. angel massage on soi 22 & 26 is also very good. nice selection of girls and lotion, oil or thai massage options. as with most all bkk massage places, extra's are available.

nep & soi cowboy bars: nep angel witch and rainbow bars, soi cowboy hit long gun, baccara, etc. i also spent an afternoon once at one of the smaller bars at the end. it was raining and i ran in to stay dry. i bought the girls drinks and ended up buying rounds for several girls. very similar to what happens in ac/phils. as with all bkk bars, you pay the bar fine and work the tip out with the girl.

beer garden and pool bars: the famous bier garten or beer garden is found on soi 7. easy place to pickup free lancers in the afternoon. there's gullivers on soi 5 and the hillary bars i and ii on soi 4. too many others to mention.

soi 33 artists bars, livinstones & massage parlors: soi 33 has both the artists bars and some very good massage places. the artists bars are named after famous artists and are more upscale. there are some great looking woman. livingstones has parties in the evenings around the pool bar & pool area. the owner (giotto) contributes a lot of posts, so info is easy to find. giotto is friendly and helpful.

soi 33 teen massage has some fans. small rooms are the downside, but a nice selection of girls. i hear there are larger rooms available on the 1st floor. massage is around 900-1,200 baht. fs is on the menu, but for around 1,500 baht extra. akane is another soi 33 mp. they use the gel from japan as a lubricant for the massage in the groin area and for the hj. fs is probably not available. this place is hard to find the first time. if you spot a "peep inn" sign, look under the garage area and you will see it about 50 feet in. of the two, i would recommend akane. they also have a chitlom branch. you will see a lot of japanese nationals at akane. there are other massage places in addition to the two mentioned.

down time: during the day, hit the emporium shopping mall. nice place, excellent eating spots, and you can catch a movie. the movies are usually in english with thai subtitles, it's cheap and best of all it's cool and you can recharge. the seats are very comfortable as well. siam square has another good shopping center. non shopping includes some of the bars with pool tables or sports bars. there's always golf if you are into it. of course there's temples galore, grand palace, and other touristy things.

in the evening, if you like singing, you can hit one of the karaoke places and have some girls join you. after there's always the take out option.

barbershops & foot massage places: friends massage near nana for a nice pampering session. options are haircut, shampoo, pedicure, foot massage, oil massage. extra's are on the table. they open early and it's a good way to start the day. get creative and suggest something off the menu and they may oblige! lot's of other similar places, so don't limit yourself to friends. most options range from 250-600 baht.

j-bars: there are quite a few bars catering to japanese only. they can almost be as selective as some of the real japan bars! lol! got turned away at a couple. in most, though, i was able to get in. don't recall the names off hand, but they are all over the place. very easy to spot.

soi 22: sazanka massage has been well reviewed in the massage thread and comes highly recommended. it is a unique experience.

thermae: the place is a long time bkk institution that has changed over time. it now seems to be frequented mostly by asians. it's been years since i have gone there, but it seems there's a full range of 2's-9's and ages 20's-40's. all free lancers.

night clubs: spasso at the grand hyatt. nice selection of freelancers and non-working girls. riva's at sheraton grande and cm2 in the basement of the novotel at siam square are also very good.

let me explain. there are crackdowns going on here now with a decidely anti-farang slant to them, starting with the new visa restrictions, to hassles in getting imm-b visas and work permits. there are new foreign ownership laws in place which the powers that be have said are to protect against "undesirables" and criminals...that would constitute, for example someone planning to do what you are suggesting, which is illegal here. this all came about because of 2 cases: the german who ran a web-cam studio with under-age girls in pattaya and the john karr, **** case last summer.

if i don't like your idea it's completely selfish because i want to minimize an already tough situation that those of us who are legit are trying to weather.

there are enough stories of shady characters running illegal businesses and doing nefarious things, including some farang bar owners in bkk and pattaya, who are under observation and investigation by the police.

The anti-foreign sentiment has worsened since the junta took over. It does not only target the undesirable as the junta tried to defend itself, but it targets all legitimate foreigners who have poured in billion and billions of dollars, and help to employ million and million of Thais.

Not only the visa law, the 30% foreign currency reserve law, but the one that really scared away all potential investors and also tries to drive out as much foreign influences as possible is the foriegn owership law. Because of the protective feudal structure of this corrupted nation, that a foreign entity who bring lots and lots of money to this third world nation can only legally own 49% of the shares of the company under this Thai feudal law. That means they need to find a legal Thai partner who has the money and skill to invest the other 51% of the shares to make the company, or to give the shares away to a legal Thai partner. Yes, this is how ignorant and stupid the Thai investment laws are.

So this law is so backward and ignorant, that up to this point that all previuos governments did not enforce it and actually encouraged a nominee system to roundabout the ignorant law. Simply they knew its not logical. Under the nominee system, the foreigners will find thier trustworthy people and nominate them as partners on the paper. So after taking all the billions of dollars the foreigners can still be control of their investments. Of couse this is basic concept.

But things have changed after the coup. They have a very clear hidden agendas to really clean away foreign influences by enforcing this law. They required the foregn companies that used the nominee systems to restructure in one year. To either find or to give away the 51% shares in a year. This basically involved all major foreign investments. So when foreigners bring billion and billion to this country, these feudal lords look at it as donation, not investments. True, even Thai economists have sarcastically said that.

Now Thailand is voted the most least attractive investment destinations in Asia by Japanese and Europeans only few months after the junta tookover. The new foreign investments have dropped nearly nil, and the ones already established are trying to get out desperately.

I have quite many friends who have major enterprises in Thailand from service to production, all are warned to restructure their owership in a year. Letter from this junta. Realistically some investments involved billions of dollars, it is fairy tale to find a Thai partner with this strength and with honesty to take over the 51%, and it would be even more ignorant as Thai government also encourages to give away your hard earned billions dollars investment to your Thai "stratigic partner" as they called it.

China and Vietnam are opening up so quickly, and allowing foreign full ownership in practically all fields of industries. The junta is going the opposit way very fast. So many established enterprises here in Thailand are looking relocation to these 2 countries. The foriegn enterprises exodus have actually begun now.

The hidden agenda is so obvious, anti-foreign, anti-foriegn influences, close-nation policy, enforce the Thai king's naive self-sufficency policy. Yes thats what they try to proclaim, self sufficency for 65 millions people with majority poverty stricken and landless, to self sustain themselves, not to depend on the billions and billions of foreign investments, and foriegn helps. This country is really going backward intentionally just to benifit these feudal lords that control the whole country.

As one Princeton Asian studies professor called this self sufficency economy is an agenda to keep the majority of poors "in place", to keep them poor and ignorant, in a political and social term, we can call it" chicken in the cage" policy. Keep the chicken in the boundry of the cage, keep them alive but keep them ignorant. The manipulation of this mega extend is so rare in the 20 century world.

I now feel really sympathetic for many of my foriegn friends who invested everything they have in the country, help the poor Thais with jobs, and helps the economy to grow, help the poor masses to achieve higher standard of living. Then came the junta and ordered them to give away their enterprises that they have built up. This third world nation is turning to fourth world, its becoming Myanmar or Congo in so many aspects. It's making a hidden cleasing of all foreign influences good or bad. It's making the chicken cage smaller and smaller, and trying harder and harder to keep the chickens more and more ignorant and tamed inside the little cage. The manipulation of masses by these feudal lords has reached unprecedented epidemic. Just look, time will tell, in a few years, the Thai masses will be more and more poor, the living standard will be lower and lower. On the other hand, these feudal lords will have stronger and stronger grips of the power, national wealth and national resources. Not very bright future at all.

Seems like members don't read my major points. Maybe my post is too long or too difficult for this forum. I think I better number some major points.

3. Just a quick reminder, that all foriegn enterprises in Thailand will have to somehow sell down or give away 51% of their assests to their Thai "strategic partners" as the feudal lords call them, in 1-2 years, set by the feudal junta.

4. This basically involves the entire foriegn assests in the country, stretching from all field of enterprises. This involves emplyment of millions of Thai workers.

5. unfortunately, selling down shares at garbage price to some untrustworthy Thais or giving away your assets probably won't make any difference. So whats the only choice of thousands of foriegn enterprises, to withdraw and leave.

6. Some foriegn enterprises are in wait and see atitude because they will not want to lose so much if they dump their enterprises now, hoping things to change, but a big portion of foreign enterprises are intend to dump and sell their assests before the feudal lords get to them in 1-2 years time.

7. this is the biggest foriegn killer, it can wipe out an entire whole foriegn economy and influences in several years time. Thats why i said this country is moving backward for the sake of these few feudal gods.

8. Thailand after the coup ranks with Indonesia, Myanmar, and Filippines as the least attractive investment destinations in Asia and highest in political and social risks for foreign investments.

The 49 % limitation is not new. Only the enforcement of that law is new, the proof that local shareholders must really invest money into a company, the removal of proxies etc. etc. .

I'm not sure about exactly what you mean by Thai hipocracy precisely (I thought it was worldwide) but I guess you mean morals on show and the other type of morals behind closed doors. However this girl would surely know that in Thai society only extreme hookers and lady boys are expected to be dress to this level of 'bow' (slightly nude) in public.
Therefore she would expect the level of publicity that is coming.
While I personally am not offended if she wore nothing, we know prim and proper Thai ladies are not supposed to be this provocative. Even the extremely game Tata Young would not be this 'wayward' I think.

I agree she is not that beautiful so the massive fake tits try to make up for it I guess.
I also don't go for Loork Kreung (50% Thai) in general, but there are some exceptions.

Have been reading this forum for many years and first time I made good use of it. I was going to be in BKK for two nights so read up on the forum and did my homework. I had already made up my mind to have a 3 some which I had always wanted but never got around to doing. Quickly chose 2 girls. The first - I belive Nit was her name was giving me the brightest smile and I just had to take her. after a great thai airways flight from sydney settled into the 14th floor of the indra regent hotel in downtown pratunam. (right next to one of the bomb sites.) brought a 30 year old first timer with me. the rest of my party were scared off by the nye bombs

Walking along Sukhumvit almost every night and never had a problem.

Around soi 19 is the hunting ground of the LBs, but if they sense you are not a fool they will not bother you.

VeteranoAs a businessman I can see why you. S. Customs would be protecting the trademark. It all boils down to money. If it is a you. S.company then the government's duty is to protect the company. After paying 40% in taxes the companies at least deserve that. If it is a company from overseas then primarily the Paris Convention of 1883 comes into play. That was the first International Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property, which guarantees that foreign trademark and patent applications from signatory countries receive the same treatment and priority as domestic applicants. Also, customs charges duties on imported items. So, theoretically you are cutting in on their action. They see it as that is one less "whatever" that they will be paid duty for allowing to be imported.

Now the consumer side of me is always looking for a deal. So my first stop in BKK is usually to my favorite "supercopy" dealer. I usually buy two watches for myself and one for my mom, dad, and sibblings. But I am smart enough to keep them in my carry-on bag then put them in my pockets before I come face-to-face with the customs officer. Just got back from Bangkok/Pattaya.

One word to summarize my trip, "fabulous"

I arrived @ about 11:45 PM, cleared immigration & customs in a matter of minutes. I walk out of the terminal and Iam greeted by dozens of Taxi drivers asking for BHT 600 to Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok.

I said NO! and walked away. Since I read reports here to look for metered taxis, I couldnt find them anywhere on that floor, so I walk back inside the terminal, and took the escalators downstairs to the lower level, where there were tonnes of metered taxis. I approached the Taxi booth, paid BHT 50, got a reciept, and was lead to my taxi. Since it was past midnight, the roads were clear, and we zoomed off to Sukhumvit road, and get stuck in traffic for a few minutes. I reach the Hotel Manhattan on Soi 15. From the exterior/lobby, it looked like a pretty decent hotel. Was greeted by the hotel staff, and did the paper formalities, and was lead to my room on the 8th floor.

Since it was a deluxe room, it was very spacious. The washrooms were clean.
They should improve on the hotels lighting though. The passageway from the elevator to the room is pretty dark at times. Anyhow, had a shower & freshened up. After a 25 hour flight, I was dead tired, and needed a hot shower. The bellboy that brought my luggage to my room was very helpful. I asked him a to call me a taxi to go to Soi Cowboy, since I had no idea where it was (my first trip to thailand). He said Soi Cowboy & Nana Plaza close @ 2:00 AM, and it was almost 2:00AM.

So I was like, this is not possible. There has to be somewhere I could go and drink & party my first night out. After a minute or so, he says he knows a place that is open till 5:00 AM, and is an underground club. And that brought a big smile on my face. I told him to usher a taxi for me, and explain the directions to the taxi driver. Paid him BHT 50 for his brilliant idea and paid the cabbie BHT 50 to get me there.

The taxi zooms in the bylanes of Soi 15, and I end up at a building with very dim lights. The sign outside says "Stardust International Club"

I walk in, and mamasaam greets me. I see over 30 girls sitting on chairs in front of me. Most of them gorgeous, and many stunners. I order a drink or two, and am approached by a Dutch man. Had a good talk with him. He told me all about Bangkok & Pattaya, and told me the "do's and dont's" & places to avoid.

After an hour or so @ about 3 AM, about 6 drunk swedish guys walk in and make the place more lively.

The mamasaam comes and sits with us, and chats with us. She is a really nice person. After a few minutes, the police raid the place. She tells us that this happens once every 2 weeks, and all they do is tell us to turn off the music. The girls are ushered into a different room, and the police leave in 5 minutes. The cops come for their weekley bribes every 2 weeks, and sometimes every week. The mamasaam says not to worry, and tells us there is another place that she will take us to. She explains the directions to a taxi driver, and we end up at another unknown place on some Soi with a lot of traffic. We walk inside, and pay BHT 300 cover charge. The 300 BHT cover charge covers 1 drink inside the nightclub. The place is called Spicy Disco (its obviously an underground disco open till 5:00-6:00 AM.)

We walk inside and it is filled with tonnes and tonnes of guys & girls dancing away to loud lively music (*most of the girls are bar girls waiting to be picked up by customers like me and others*)

I am approached by several girls on the dance floor. Bekki being a stunner amongst them, has my eyes set on her. The Dutch man from Stardust club picked another stunner from the crowd. The Dutch, his GF, Bekki & I share a few drinks, and are off to the dance floor. I leave the place around 4:30 with Bekki, and off to my hotel for 2 amazing sessions with her. We wake up @ about 11:30 AM, and have another amazing session, and I pay her BHT 2000, and off she goes.

I will list the address of the above 2 places that I mentioned.

I am actually in BKK right now, my first time too. Went out last night to Nana Plaza and hit every bar. Ended up bar fining a girl from one of the Rainbow bars, but wasn't overly impressed with the talent level.

I'm here for a couple more nights, probably hitting Soi Cowboy tonight, then heading off to Pattaya. Just wanted to see what other must see spots you recommended, or any other general insights to maximize my holiday.

Looks like you did well on your first visit. There's always a chance of getting ripped off by the cabbies, but I also find they are sometimes a good source of new finds as well.

The Spicy Disco is a sister club to the Boss Club, which is on Rongmueang Soi 5. The original club also has a lot of late night action, but it's been a while since I have been there. Spicy Disco is newer and nicer.

There will be lots of places to watch the rugby. Me being an aussie, I would normally go to one of the aussie bars. Downunder in soi 7/1 near Nana BTS or the other Downunder near soi cowboy will have it on for sure in soi 23. Numerous other bars in that little soi will have the rugby on.

In Soi 4 there are a couple of english and irish pubs that will have it on. Just walk away from sukhumvit past Nana Plaza and keep your eyes open for signs. That will tell you when etc the games are on.

Glad to see you guys are posting on my Happy Place. See, the lesbian show at Suzie Wong's will be that place I go to in my mind when all goes to hell. Every day I am in Bangkok you will find me walking in to SW at 10:15. This way I can be assured a seat at the bar for the show starting at 10:30. It is one time per evening and that's it. I dont think they could have the same quality of show if it was sevveral times per night. It also helps me plan my evenings at least I have some type of schedule.

There is just something absolutely brilliant about having a girl going down on another just 30cm away from where you put your beer down.

Tried to BF one of the members of the show (the curly haired darker complexion girl) and she looked game but afer a drink one of her other customers beat me to the punch. Doh! I hate that but good on him, I can only accuse him of having similar tastes as me.

stardust & spicy disco have the same owners.i would highly recommend going to pattaya. get out of bangkok and run to pattaya. i had the best time of my life in pattaya. it is way cheaper than bangkok & has much better talent. bangkok according to me was overrated.

club lucifer on walking street in pattaya, is one of the finest pick up joints i came across. it has fabulous live music & the girls are top notch.

i was planning on staying in pattaya for 2 nights, but i ended up staying for 8 nights with the same girl in pattaya. it has really fine restaurants along the beachfront, amazing [CodeWord118] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord118), fabulous go go bars.

i went to a go go bar named classroom on soi 13/4 very close to the royal garden plaza mall. i found the bar girls very friendly, and the atmosphere very good. there are tonnes of go go bars, it just depends on where your luck takes you.

on walking street, there are tonnes of live bands. a rock & roll band @ a pub (cannot recall the name), has some really fine music. i believe its few steps across from the don joe's italian restaurant (one of the finest restaurants i have visited in pattaya, very authentic)

if you live hip hop & r&b music, then you must visit lucifer (visit it even if you dont like the music, as the atmosphere is just fabulous, pumping live music with pumping women). also give 50 cent a try if you have the time. they are on walking street.
there is an elvis pub, if want to listen to elvis presley's live cover bands (again, on walking street).

now since you are in bangkok, make sure you visit bier garten (beer garden).
i believe its on soi 9 or soi 11, right by the amari boulevard hotel. it is amazing pick up joint, anytime of the day, be it afternoon/night. drinks are cheap, and you can find many stunners there sometimes.

also, make sure you pay a visit to long gun, on soi cowboy. it has some sex shows that one cannot imagine.

thermae in ramachit plaza hotel on soi 15, according to me is overrated. i didnt like the atmosphere there, but you could give it a shot.

bacarra on soi cowboy, also has some good girls, it has 2 floors, and if you are one the ground floor, and look up, it has a glass flooring on top, so you can pretty much see everything if you look up to the second floor.

try spending some more time in pattaya if you can. you will fall in love with that place. iam going back again in april, to see the girl i met on my trip, and to party it up before it gets too hot in thailand.

i found bangkok too overcrowded & polluted, but still loved my time there.

i paid a visit to soi 33, where livingstones lodge is located. didnt really venture there for long, so nothing to report from there.

i also went to patpong, and found it really nasty with ladyboys & pushy people all over. patpong should be the last place you should visit on your list.

if you plan on doing any shopping, visit emporium, siam paragon, central plaza, mbk. they are loacated on the bts sukhumvit line.

also if you have the time, pay a visit to the hard rock cafe. i believe its right @ the national stadium. take the bts, get off @ siam station, and change trains for the national stadium. only 2 stops away from siam station.

the hard rock cafe had really good music, but its not a pick up joint. visit it if you have the time.

i also paid a visit to aviva massage on soi 8. took annie for a 2 hour pop lotion massage. overall she did a really great job with full service. but i found it a bit too expesnive. i ended up paying 2500 @ the end, plus some tip.

if all you are looking for is a massage, then dont go here. if you want to pay a lot for full service & massage, then this place is for you.

i shall report back soon about other places that i paid a visit too.

for the time being, enjoy the land of smiles.

p.s: make sure you guys visit pattaya & visit the classroom gogo on soi 13/4. i found the people to be really friendly, even the servers & mamasaams, and ofcourse the girls.

Hoe Hunter and jkidd69: Nice information from both of you. I wanted to point out that the Hard Rock Cafe is actually near the Siam Square BTS station. There's a Novotel Hotel there with an active bar in the basement.

No matter how many times I've been to LOS, I always hear about new places on this board. Thanks to both of you for some good info.

If you are a US citizen then it is not really illegal to seek P4P outside the country. Unfortunately, most people (including Customs) associate Thailand and Cambodia P4P (if you had notes on you then you are even under more suspicion) that you are somehow getting something there that you cant get here --namely children. Its a false image that they get--
Remember that to forbid P4P rule is not even valid in the US itself as Nevada has legal P4P.

Bottome line is never act nervous or upset and never have on you anything that they can turn against you (if searched).

BTW: I'm in Canada and the customs agents here sometimes make the US counterparts look like saints.

One thing I love about Thailand is the Live bands that the bars cater to. It makes the 25 hour trip all worth it.

MY first trip to Thailand last week was fabulous despite of it being only 10 days.
I have booked tickets for 28 March. Should be gone for about 20 days.

For any of you newbies going to Thailand, I would highly recommend to go to Pattaya first, and then go to Bangkok after.

Bangkok has Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza & the infamous Patpong. Pattaya has Walking Street, and tonnes of other Soi's which tops all the other places in Bangkok.

Also make sure you watch Thai Boxing if you guys end up in Pattaya. It happens @ The Pier, just before the main entrance to Walking Street.

It starts @ 8:00 PM, if Iam not mistaken. The place has really good music, great bar-tenders & a lively atmosphere.

If you guys want really good facial treatment, you could try the Tanishko Tokyo studios (cannot recall the exact name). I got fabulous facial treatment there. It is located in the Royal Garden Plaza lower level.

Despite of me being 23 years of age, I actually felt a lot younger after that.

So once again, if its your first time to Thailand, go to Pattaya first, and then go to Bangkok.

phantom is correct regarding canada custom agents-they are fucking brutal, total jerks when i use 2 go 2 cuba-the ugly looks when i returned & the questions, they think every single guy getting away from winter is a **** or a smuggler they think i had 10 boxes of cigars up my ass when i came back from thailand-the disgust on their face told the whols story you mention the word thailand even friends & family raise an eyebrow, everyone this side of the world equates thailand with children sex, i guess me doing 2 women over 40 was a shock.

same thing happen each time i return to lax from bkk. do not admit to buying or doing anything illegal there. if your from the us. its illegal to seek p4p so you have broken a federal law. this time i spread my undewear thru out and she seemed not in too much a hurry to go thru my luggage. did go thru my camera in carry on. but i learned to down load to my email address prior to leaving los. lap top was cleaned out (not even a operating system)

so just a dirty look and finished. did show a little additude about allways when i return being ran thru the extra screening. seemed to speed things along. (i was'nt holding any contraband) and am allways visiting a girlfriend when in los seems to get the old white hags off my back.

try going through other points of entry even though it may be longet getting home. not all points of entry are the same. i have been to thailand about a dozen times and have brought home tons of stuff and have been stoped only once and questioned, and that was because of a wood carving in my carry on, not the $300 worth of medications or the 150 copy cd's in my checked on bags. anyone want a rolex? i have brought at least 30 in each time i come back. i think it's just lax. sorry dude.

I've visited BKK from a Thursday to Sunday mid January. Checked in at Majestic Suites around 5pm and headed off for dinner with friends at Vientiane Kitchen around 8pm. It was the perfect location to start the evening off - this restaurant is very popular with locals, provides a highly entertaining band & show and serves excellent original Northeastern & Lao staple in a palm & bamboo furnitured casual atmosphere. Pursuing my plans for the evening I suggested to pay AngelWitch at NEP a visit. Having a non-WG lady with us it took me some persuasive work to get all of us there.

Crossing the threshold of AngelWitch at 10.30pm. This is basicaly a table-dance nightspot with mainly plain Jane type of girlies. It is definitely a pick-up venue. But a pleasant and refined one catering mainly for farangs (white skined foreigners) and kheks (Middle Easterners & dark skined foreigners). The female Thai crowd seemed to be somehow sophisticated and more upper-class. I'm wondering if due to the darkness punters can make the right choice. But the big attraction and house speciality here is the post-Soviet talent. At the rear end of the club you can recognize the CIS-crowd. After roaming around for a while I approached their sector. The few Russian or let's say at least Russian speaking chicks gave me a worn out impression. They've been older and I've noticed their excessively big asses and tits. May be due to direct comparison with TGs. They exposed themselves as they were commodities and stared at every dude passing by. Lights on at 2am. Taxi drivers in front of the hotel were keen to overcharge. No way. Kept patient, walked to the main road (Rama I) and grabbed a cabbie to Grace Hotel. The famous Coffee Shop doesn't exist any more. Passed along some fat & ugly Central Asian CIS witches as I walked towards Thermae (Sukhumvit Rd., Soi 13). As I arrived they've just finished. After sunset an old plan should become true. It has been tempting me since years to pay No Hands Restaurant at Galaxy Ententainment Complex a visit. Around 8pm I found myself knocking at their door. It wasn't the case. The dishes were reasonably priced, pretty standard, well cooked but nothing to write home about. I've been carefully fed by the babe with whom I could rather train my Thai language skills then carry on a cultured English conversation. The lady's service was charged with 720 Bht with no time limit. I asked her to serve herself but she preferred just to drink beer. An interesting nice experience full of fun. After several bottles of beer we got slightly tipsy. We cuddled and kissed. She started rubbing my swollen bump between my legs. At this point I suggested her to sink into the pit under the table in order to give me a BJ (thinking rather of a BBBJ). I guess obviously the key is to not carry any "notes", condoms, etc...just be squeaky clean so they can't give you any crap at all. If they ask where you been. Have a friend's address handy in Thailand or say "been dating a girl in Thailand...". Etc.

Any advice is appreciated.

Once you have been flagged for a search, you should assume that your name has been associated with the 'axis of evil.' Assume that you will be searched every time you return. Get rid of any incriminating evidence, including any pics in your camera. You'll be OK.

If you are a US citizen then it is not really illegal to seek P4P outside the country. Unfortunately, most people (including Customs) associate Thailand and Cambodia P4P (if you had notes on you
BTW: I'm in Canada and the customs agents here sometimes make the US counterparts look like saints.

Yeah, they are all over the place, Muf. Teacher's pay for farangs is only about 30,000-35,000/month in Thailand, so they have a huge shortage of English teachers. The ones from the Philippines make maybe 1/2 of the farang salary, so many schools resort to them, though the parents don't like it, obviously. White face is what they want.

I don't know what information is contained in the INS computers but I've been traveling to Thailand since 2003 and have only been searched once. I make 5-6 trips each year for 2-3 weeks. I fly in and out of SFO and always alone. I have been sent to the search line 1-2 times but then told to go without any search taking place. I'm usually asked what the purpose of my trip was and I say holiday. They ask if I know people in Thailand and I usually respond that I know many people there, have a home and girlfreind there and plan to retire in LOS. I'm a lawyer bt trade and they usually ask what type of law I practice. Never had my cameras or computer examined. These days being what they are you really have to have lots of patience and learn to relax.

Just back from three weeks in LOS and what a time I had. Started in Bangkok at the Davis hotel and met my first shorttimer at a pool bar one street to the west of Nana Entertainment. Having been able to sleep copiously on the journey, wasn't going to miss a night in BKK. Thanks to all the reports in ISG I felt completely informed and selected my hotels carefully. After my "first" experience went for a foot massage then back to the Davis. Long walk back from the BTS a very dissapointing journey. They will bring you to the end of the soi initially by tuk-tuk but then you must get on a motorcycle taxi or walk it back.

Next night ended up in soi Cowboy. Met a fellow american at the bar on the corner and we explored soi cowboy together ending up at cowboy2. Had a blast with the girls and went our seperate ways with ladies from C2. Was able to procure medicinal enhancement medication at the pharmacy directly adjacent to the open air bar on the corner of soi Cowboy. Left the next day for paradise. Pattaya. Will continue my report there.

Minor offenses won't mean squat to the US customs, but as you indicated Canada customs is a whole different story.

Are you sure she took it or you didn't spend it? Until I got use to Thai money I was mistaking 500s for 100s and 1,000s for 20s, especially after seven or eight beers. Couldn't understand why the taxi driver took off like a bat out of hell after I gave him what I thought was two twenties only later to wonder what happened to all my 1,000 baht notes. Started keeping 1,000 and 500 notes in a separate pocket from the 20, 50 and 100 notes.

This is my report about my first trip to Bangkok in the second half of February 2007. I have been in Bangkok for 8 days. My hotel was Livingstone Lounge in Sukhumvit Soi 33. I can really recommend to stay there. Details you can read in my post at the Giotto’s Lodge thread.

Although some advices had been written before I want to write again about avoiding paying too high prizes, if you take a Taxi from Airport to the City. After passing the customs you have to turn right. Ignore the persons who announce transportation by Taxis or private cars. They want crazy prizes like 700 till 900 Baht or more. Go ahead and take the first escalator downstairs. After leaving the escalator you see 2 or 3 persons setting behind a desk. Go there and tell them your destination. They write it on a piece of paper and also the number of the Taxi. Then they will show you the Taxi you should use. All these Taxis have a Taximeter. A transport to your destination in the City shouldn’t cost more than 250 to 300 Baht. I used them 4 times and never paid more than 300 Bath to Sukhumvit Soi 33.

I read many posts in this forum and got also many information about Bangkok by internet, general and nightlife, so I think I was very good informed what I have to do and where I should go.

First I am writing about my experiences with the Ladies I met. I spent 2 nights with Ladies from the Sportsbar in Livingstones. The first was a Lady, age near 30, but looked very younger. She wasn’t a stunner, but had a good attitude an amazing smile, that I couldn’t resist to invite her for a drink. Later I barfined her and we spend the night together. She was very affectionate and lovely, but also passionate, a real GFE. The second Lady was younger, I think about 23, in my opinion very beautiful with a very slim figure; she had a tattoo and long curly hairs. The night with this young Lady was really hot, even more as with the first Lady, she always wanted more and more from me that I could give her. In the morning I felt really exhausted. Unfortunately I haven’t the names of these Ladies. Generally I can say you will find in Livingstone’s Sportsbar a true girlfriend for the night. Her English was acceptable, so we could communicate well. After some drinks I barfined her and we had dinner together in an Italian Restaurant nearby. After dinner we went to Livingstone and spent the night together. I had luck again, also a real hot night with a very affectionate and passionate Lady. The next day Fon has been my guide for visiting the Emperor’s Palace and Wat Phro in the City. I was lucky to have such a nice guide. I think both of us had enjoyed this day.

Another day I visited Biergarten at Soi 7 about 2 p.m. I wasn’t impressed of the most girls there, mostly average and below and many older that I like. But for my surprise I didn’t hassled by anyone. I saw only 3 or 4 cute girls, but unfortunately sitting with older men. I wanted already to leave as I saw an alone sitting Lady in a corner. Our looks met each other and I knew in this moment, this is the Lady I have dreamt. Her name was Bop, age 28, younger looking, well shaped, great smile and well dressed like a real Lady. We talked any time there and I got a very good impression of her. Her English was more than reasonable, so we could talk very good about many things. Finally I asked her how much she wants for LT. In the evening we left the hotel and Bop took me to an origin Thai-Restaurant, where only Thai people have dinner. It was fare away and outside the City, driving more than 50 minutes by Taxi. In this restaurant I saw more than 200 Thais, I was the only foreigner. Bop said to me that I should take so much fish, chicken, meat and vegetable on the plates as I wanted. The prize was incredible low, 79 Bath – really only 79 Bath! We sat down at a table. On the table stood a special kind of grill, inside charcoal. Bop put some pieces of fish, chicken and meat on the top of the grill and the vegetable in an outer ring filled with water to boil it. This kind of dinner I never had and it was a total new experience for me. And it was so delicious. I hope to meet Bop next year again and to go there again. Later we left the restaurant and returned to Livingstones, where we spend an unforgettable night together – maybe the best night with a Lady I ever had. Unfortunately I had to get up early at 5.45 a.m. next morning, because I had booked a trip to Ayutthaya, the former capital in Thailand. But we arranged to meet again on the following day, when we spend again time from the afternoon till the next day. It was as great as the other night. I will hold contact with this lovely Lady and I hope to meet her again next year.

I also visited 2 Massage Parlours in Bangkok. First I went to Angel Massage in Sukhumvit Soi 24 and booked an oil-massage for 2 hours, cost 800 Baht. I took a nice looking girl from the fishbowl; the massage was o.k, but nothing special – also the BBBJ and the covered sex for 1.500 Baht. I was a little disappointed, especially if I compare it with my experience one year before in Shanghai. There I got a real great Oil- and Bodymassage with fire and ice and the famous red rope. About this kind of massage I am dreaming till today.

A few days later I visited Tulip Massage, directly at the Thong-Lo BTS-Station. I asked the Mamasan, which Lady she would recommend. I wanted an oil-massage, combined with an origin Thai-massage. The Mamasan called for a Lady named Ploi, average body and looking, age around 30, but also great smile. Ploi gave me first an oil-massage for 40 minutes, after the harder part of the massage began. Ploi pounded with her hands all parts of my body from the head to my feet. Sometimes this kind of massage was at the limit and I felt some pain, but so she was able to relax all my muscles. Finally she stood with her full body on my back and massaged my back with her heels and toes. What a great massage! At the end I felt totally relaxed and like newborn. The following BBBJ and covered FS have been o.k., but again only average, compared with the Ladies at Livingstones or Monet or especially Bop. But if you want a really great massage in the kind I have got, go there and ask for Ploi.

I also went to Soi Cowboy and the Bars at Nana, but this is not the kind of entertainment I like. Too much hassle, too loud music, hardly a chance to communicate with a girl. I prefer more the fine atmosphere at the Sportsbar in Livingstone’s or in the Bars at Soi 33. Naturally it’s more expensive than to barfine a girl from Nana or Soi Cowboy, but it have been worth for me.

I have also made 2 excursions, one to the former capital Ayutthaya and one to the River Kwai. If anyone is interested in old culture, ruins and old temples, then I would recommend to visit Ayutthaya. Book a trip to this city, driving with a bus to this city, returning by ship on the river to Bangkok, included a dinner. Also the tour to the River Kwai is very interesting, especially for those people with interest in the history of the second world war in this region. I visited the military cemetery, the war museum and naturally I went on the famous River Kwai Bridge. Later I took an old train, driving along the beautiful landscape of the River Kwai. A little disadvantage in this tour is the long sitting in the bus, more than 2 hours before reaching the River Kwai, and more than 4 hours to come back to Bangkok.

Finally an advice: If you can use the Skytrain to reach your destination, especially in the morning and in the afternoon. Compared with using a Taxi I always have been much faster.

These are my experiences of my first trip to Bangkok. I have enjoyed all the days and nights much. Maybe I had great luck to get known such nice Ladies. I hope to come back next near.

Just back from three weeks in LOS and what a time I had. Started in Bangkok at the Davis hotel and met my first shorttimer at a pool bar one street to the west of Nana Entertainment. Having been able to sleep copiously on the journey, wasn't going to miss a night in BKK. Thanks to all the reports in ISG I felt completely informed and selected my hotels carefully. After my "first" experience went for a foot massage then back to the Davis. Long walk back from the BTS a very dissapointing journey. They will bring you to the end of the soi initially by tuk-tuk but then you must get on a motorcycle taxi or walk it back.Plenty of normal taxis running along the soi in both directions. Should cost about 40 baht. To /from the Nana area you might as well get a taxi all the way, will only cost a few baht more.

As I also sampled the Pesky One I wouldn't nesesserily call her a nympho, however it's also not so far off. You can be ensured to have a enjoyable night.

In my special case she also qualified as a perfect nurse when I had a short feaver (see my old reports fom August). She would be able to provide a 24h service, nothing excluded.

Optically not in the stunner category (but also not bad), she overall qualifies as a good performer having fun combined with a very caring heart.

I could recommend her for guys who would look for somebody to take care of them in age (instead of the home countrys nurse service) as a reliable partner, probably different from the STARLET.

not my style, however I have yet to make a bad experience, so can't really tell how to feel once robbed.

I am lucky to have a light sleep. A girl next to me who is waking up I will notice. Also I am not drinking me out of control.

Take my individual usual precautions based on a 'basic trust, but no provoke' attitude.

- The money available in my purse outside the safe is not much more then I would spend with her anyhow. Also not more then 1 credit card inside and no documents I don't need.
- Easy to take things are either in the safe or somehow out of sight and could not be found without active searching and making noise.
- Phone: For mongering I use an older Nokia phone out of my collection (who doesn't have that after so many years with GSM phones?) which I wouldn't use either at home anymore. If this would be gone its a loss yes, but bearable.
- Notebook: I may bring the Notebook either out of sight, or it is fully cabled at the desk with something on it to be removed first. I don't think a Notebook is so easy to take away and 'uncable' without any noise and efforts which wouldn't let wake me up.
- Camera: Difficult. You want to either take nice pictures, then I would avoid taking out and back to the safe in front of her- this destroys the atmosphere, or you don't take pictures then you hide.
I usually put the camera below some other things after the photo session, or better put something above it which again makes some noise if searched for.

- Girl: Your selection and your judgement before deciding for the girl is probably the best precaution you can do. I would consider the risk of a Nana Parking Lot girl rather higher then for a Soi Cowboy GoGo girl or a Livingstone girl, which I would consider close to zero. Generally I prefer some talking before deciding, then a quick 2 minutes decision. With that I didn't have a bad experience yet at all.

As stated by another poster, "Try Pantip", because it is closer to central BKK and it is accessable via the BTS SkyTrain system.

Also, I'm not sure if you are referencing a computer chain store by the name of IT City or if you are referencing the computer supercenter "IT Mall."

IT Mall is located near the old Don Muang airport. I've never been there, but a friend of mine that has been there told me it is much larger than pantip. See the following URLs for more info:

It's your fault. I know it was my fault the one time it happened to me. The girl got my 2000 baht mobile phone. I considered it a small price for a big lesson and so should you.

You should study the advice given by each of the guys who replied to your post and develop your own style of theft prevention. I don't disagree with any of the advice given so far. All of the guys gave good advice, but you are still left with the problem of how to incorporate their advice into a methodology that fits your style and provides a certain degree of flexibility. The issue of flexibility is important because the circumstances are always a little different when you bring a girl to your domicile.

For instance, I live in an modest apartment that has no room safe. This makes it impossible for me to follow the "put your valuables in a room safe" technique. However, I do have a seven foot tall armoire which effectively serves the same function for me. When (if) the girl takes a shower I toss my wallet and key and mobile phone on top of the armoire. I think they are safe enough there because there aren't many Thai Girls that can elevate their hand to a seven foot height.

But what if the girl doesn't take a shower or wants to take the shower together? Many times when a girl is reluctant to get in the shower, it is because she is facing the same dilemma with her purse that you are facing with your wallet. Many times it is the girl that is the one that gets her money stolen, because there are more than a few dishonest and not so rich farangs living in Thailand. I can vouchsafe they exist in Bangkok after living here for three years.

So there you are alone with your girl and both of you are waiting for the other one to be the first one to the shower. What do you do? My technique in this instance is to toss my wallet on the TV stand and go take a shower. What did I just say? How the hell am I protecting my valuables if I simply toss them on the TV stand?

Answer: I'm not. Because what I toss on the TV stand is just a wallet with no more than three thousand baht inside along with a photocopy of my passport. I usually know the exact amount of money in my wallet because I do a quick count of it while paying for the taxi after arriving at my apartment.

All my credit cards and ATM cards are locked away in the top drawer of my armoire because I put them there before I went out hunting. My digital camera and my passport and all my other important essentials permanently reside there as well.

But posterlion! Didn't you just lie to us when you said you didn't have a room safe?

I suppose I did, but it was a small and righteous lie. Remember folks, this is Thailand, the land of many small and righteous lies. It is also the land where it is important not to cause someone to lose face and where it is equally important to consider the other persons feelings at all times (gren jai).

That is why I am happy to lose no more than three thousand baht if necessary. I did everything possible to care for the girls face and feelings and three thousand bath is a small price to pay for information concerning a girls honesty. Information you say? Yes! Exactly! I consider her theft as valuable information. Afterwards, when/if I ever see the girl again, I observe who she associates with because birds of a feather usually flock together. I know which birds fly with theft in their feathers when I know where they fly to when flocking together.

These techniques work well based on my experience. They work well because I limit my losses and credit them on my income statement to Supplier Demographics Expense. The techniques also create a debit on my balance sheet in the Goodwill From Gren Jai Account.

Actually, because I am in Thailand and the concept of gren jai is a very important concept for the Thai people, I've found that all the little gren jai's I attempt to provide are almost always noticed and are very much appreciated. In fact, after three years, I have noticed many times that my little gren jai's end up coming back to me. Many times they come back in a completely unexpected way, but every time, expected or not, I always appreciate it. It's starting to make me a true believer in the old axiom: what goes around comes around.

It is very common in latin america, where I am now, that the girl may put something in your drink to get you to sleep very deep. Then she can easily walk out even with your bags full if you are staying in an apartment.
She can even call someone, her pimp maybe, to help her out.

Those things have happened and are still happening. It happened to a newbie friend of mine two months ago in Fortaleza/Brasil although I and another monger gave him a big lecture on the subject the previous night.
He was with three girls in a bar, went to the toilet leaving his beer behind and then all together went to his apartment.The next day woke up with almost nothing of his belongings.

Never leave your drink unattented. Even when you go to the toilet. Take it with you or have a new one.

So when I say I will hide the key, or even better lock it in a combination safe, that is after I enter the room with her of course. With that I am certain that she will not be able to leave unless I open the door for her.

Thai law says that foreigners are supposed to carry their passports around with them at all times. I never do (unless I travel out of Bkk).

I always have a paper copy of my passport on me + My Embassy Stamped Picture ID Card.

This is enough, really. I got arrested a few times by the Thai Police (just routine Checks, especially when I ride my motorbike), they never asked me about my passport, but I told them that if they wanted the Original, it was available for them to check at my home.

Worse come to worse, they will tell you that you must have your original passport with you and give you a fine (tell them you want to pay the fine now, and they will take cash from you, discreetely).

The biggest fine I had was 200thb because I did not wear my helmet.

On the subject of theft prevention, if you don't have a safe in the room then (and this is obviously if you are in your hotel room) take a clear plasstic zip-loc Jiffy bag. Put your valuables in it and take it into the shower with you. I also offer it to the girls when they go and shower too.

I doubt that police can and will hold it against you if you only carry a copy of your passport. Those who got in trouble may have had violated some laws (maybe drug abuse) and police may have wanted to make sure that it is a true copy and not a faked one. Maybe they also wanted to place a stamp in the passport to mark it for further visits.

Or maybe those guys simply misbehaved and police used it as a pretense to "punish" them. I myself have witnessed countless numbers of bigmouthed idiots at embassies and other places who did a lot of harm to their concern by acting like lager louts instead of staying calm and factual.

in the evening we sat and ate a burger and some chicken wings at big mango in nana entertainment plaza. afterwards, we went around to happy house because i wanted to show my friend the layout. when we got there he said that a tout had already taken him and another friend there earlier in the day. he showed me the girl that he had. she was the best looking one in the joint. he said that he had paid 2000 baht for 2 hours. he said that the girl wanted a tip afterwards but the service was not that good and he had already bought her a lady drink. so that was her tip.

About 1:30am I received a phone call. My other friends had made it in and had just checked into their rooms. I got up and got dressed and met them in the lobby.
