HAs anyone ever tried those small brothels which are in the alleyways around the Patpong area? I only ask as on my last trip to BKK, I got a tuk tuk to take me to Patpong, (I was staying up the top end of SIlom RD), and when u come to the huge intersection, he turned left then went up a side road where there was 2 small brothels with about 6 girls sitting outside. The women werent bad looking but I said no and moved on, a nd he dropped me at the montein side of Patpong.

Just wondering if anyone had tried these joints, and if so what are they like?

The younger generation Japanese upper middle class seems to have the morals of alley cats. Actually, some of the professionals I mentioned are my colleagues in Tokyo. As far as I understand, they are after youngish bodybuilding Asian toy boys for rent that they have rightly concluded could be found aplenty in Pattaya's Boyztown.

I had two chances to pass through the Spice Club at the Ambassador. Wednesday evening at around 10:00pm was busy, but not a great selection. Many "couples" already paired up. Some freelancers. Nothing to write home about. As other posters mentioned, it's very dark and very loud. Possibly a bad night, but can't recommend it based on that visit.

I also was on my way to Sabai Sabai massage (open 24/7) on Soi 11, early Friday morning just past 4:00am. I heard some music, and sure enough, the Spice Club was still open. I went in through the lobby stairwell. It was roped off as in "closed", but they let me through. Very empty at that hour. About a dozen guys and gals. Again, mostly already paired up and what was left was not that appealing. Decided to give it a pass and went on to Sabai Sabai.

Ended up with a great massage with a happy ending, and some interesting neighbors in the "rooms" next to me. I use the word "rooms" loosely, since if you have been upstairs there, each cubicle is separated by curtains forming a room. Anyway, about my neighbors. It was a group of guys who had a bit to drink. The guy next to me was obviously a Frenchman, based on his accent. He had a great time with his gal and the banter was hilarious! Of course his girl shouted out "I want to see your dick!". So which one of you was it? LOL!

Seems strange that you ask about the spice bar when there are so many places to try. Why not spend some time reading other reports in the forum telling where mongers went, what they did and saw, and how much they spent. Everyone has their own taste so you might want to try several different places and things.

Came to BKK for a couple days.

Went to Patong 1 first. Quite an interesting place, went inside a go go bar and sat down to watch the girls. I guess there is no naked go go bar around here, as I walk down the street trying to find one and can not find any.

The go go girls are all in bikini type outfits, No real stunners, but once in a while you can find a cutie or two. One came by and sat next to me. I decided to buy her a drink and chat with her. After a few minutes, she wanted me to barfine her. 500bht for barfine, but she did not quote me a price for ST or LT, even though I asked a few times. She keep saying she will keep me company and be my tour guide for the evening and show me around. Since she did not quote me a price, i decided not to barfine her.
What if I pay 500baht for the bar fine and she later said 3000bht for ST. I would be stupid to make that initial investment and not know the cost later.

Went to Nana next, and this place is a bit more rowdy, with the go go girls being a bit more aggressive. I went inside a few and sat down to watch the scenes, paid a few drinks for the girls and do bar hopping for a while to check things out. The go go girls would sit next to you and before long, they would start rubbing your little didi, which felt good. I would also switch girls after a while, just to find another good looking girl to rub me. I think I did this for about 3 or 4 bars.

Figure you would spend 130bht + 130bht for drinks for both you and the girl at each bar, + some didi rubbing. Of course, they all want you to barfine them and promise to treat you well, make you happy all nite...blah blah blah..

Beware of lady boys. There were a few stunner and I suspected they are ladyboys. I may have invited one or two to sit next to me, and sensed something was not quite kosher. I keep looking for their Adams apple and that got me worried. I bailed out once I felt things are not right.

i had just left thermae (alone) at about midnight after a long day (four pops with two different practitioners). i was walking back to my hotel alone. walking down sukhimvit on the left side of the road, toward soi cowboy. i made eye contact & small talk with two or three sw including a super cutie who said ‘money up to you’. but i was just too tired and ready to sleep.

as i neared the westin, a tiny girl – no more than 145cm, grabbed my arm and began walking with me. not a normal sw proposition – she was so small and looked very different than the others. very dark. page-boy haircut. her body looked like a hot 15 year old, but face was weathered and ugly, looked at least 30. she was wearing a short skirt with no knickers, and a tight abercrombie and fitch (knockoff) t-shirt with no bra. she pulled up her skirt and shirt for me under a streetlamp. she offered to blow me in a parking lot for 100thb. i asked her if she would do greek. she said yes, you can put it in backside for 200thb. no fat anywhere, no stretch marks, and by any standards a great, tight body with perfect breasts.

she spoke reasonable english. she claimed to be from burma, and said she was homeless and had been robbed earlier. but her clothes were freshly laundered, legs & pits shaved, feet clean. so she didn’t seem homeless. she was carrying no id, and claimed it was stolen. she suggested going to st hotel further down sukhimvit.

red flags all over the place, but somehow i wanted to see where this was going. several possibilities enter my mind. was it a set-up or was she a really tragic case who would blow me for 100thb or do greek for 200thb? or would she lure me to a hotel of her choice, let me do her and then claim to be **** and blackmail me? did she have a friend at the hotel to rob me? or was she telling the truth, and really a sad, pathetic case? her body seemed too good to charge way below market price. the whole thing doesn't add up, but it's not an obvious scam either.

by now i was wide awake, she keeps rubbing my johnson and putting my hand up her skirt, and really considering going with her. after years of picking up girls at nana, thermae and go-go’s at cowboy, enjoying soapies, etc, this certainly would be something new, at least a chance to do some cheap greek. but the whole thing was just too freaky and pathetic, maybe dangerous, so at the end, i just paid her thb100 to leave. she walked into 7-11 to buy some food and i went home.

There are 101 places better than Spice Bar, it is a night club/disco, very loud and very dark with aggressive serving staff who do not let you drink your beer in peace.
My advice, go to CM2 on Siam Square, basement of the Novotel.

When arriving to BKK from the US, all the airline flights get in close to midnight. By the time I get to my hotel of choie, the Majestic Suites and freshen up, it is closer to 1:30am. I normally just go to Nana Plaza and hope for the best. Only once have I pulled a girl that I liked out of there at that time of the night. I generally prefer to see as much "skin" as possible so as to weed out the bad bodies (generally not as bad as in South America), lady boys and rock hard breast implants. Can any of you veteran mongers suggest some good places to check out - around that time of the night for hot GFE style girls?

I had the same issue -- I wound up arriving at Soi Cowboy just before 2:00AM. At first I thought I would have to act fast. But the food stalls along Sukhimvit were swarming with girls, so I figured I had that in my back pocket.

I initially walked into Raw Hide to enjoy the end of the show. As expected, they quit serving beer a little after 2. But the show continued on, albeit in a different format. All the remaining girls were completely naked on stage (their required 'clothing' was a clear plastic bag) for the final push of the evening. At first there were three smoking hot girls and about ten good ones. After about 30 minutes, the three hottest ones were gone. When I left at 3:00, several girls were still on stage and others prowling the floor.

The girl who attached herself to me was not cute, so even though everything was officially closed, I took a chance and left Raw Hide at around 3AM. I went into at least three other go go's -- I was allowed in every place I tried. If the door was shut, I would poke my head in and a girl would literally pull me in. The girls are working hard at that hour, but they play by the rules, an you can walk away with no problem.

I wound up staying for a while at Long Gun, which was still serving drinks. When I left Long Gun well past 4:00AM, there were still plenty of people sitting around the bar, and still plenty of girls. I chose a girl who was somewhat plain looking but very sweet and friendly. Barfine was regular price. She asked me to choose her service tip. I told her 1500, she smiled and off we went. She spent the night and the service was outstanding, went through a 6-pack of condoms. I think she was #180, she had a very round face. More on that later.

Where shall I start. This is my first trip to LOS and I am learning from my mistaking and glad I am staying at Livingstone Lodge, with their good advice this will be a memorable trip.

When I asked the driver the name of this street he did not understand my english. I do remember a hospital being near. Called the Bangkok & Pattaya hospital (I believe). I was nowhere at the Burmeguard.

The area you are talking about is the street behind Petchaburi Rd. There can be upwards of 50-60 girls on any given night. They used to be on Petchaburi Rd. around Siam Hotel but the boys in brown kicked them to the street on the backside of the hotel. There are some very nice looking girls but service is hit or miss. It is more of a local scene and usually the locals drive around that long rectangular block checking out the girls. My friends and I took a taxi there and just walked around until we found some girls. Most girls don't speak english and will do ST only for 1500. Also they are hesitant to go to any hotel except Siam Hotel which will cost you 500 baht. I was able to convince a few to go to my hotel when I was stayed in the Ratchada area and paid 200 baht extra for taxi. There are also a bunch of girls waiting to be picked up in the Siam Hotel coffee shop. The girls are there until the wee hours of the morning. Hope this clears things up a bit.

If you arrive Bangkok a little bit late the taxi driver may not take the toll-way to Nana area and you may pass through Petchburi Road around old Siam Hotel area (NOT Siam City hotel). This area is well known by local residents as a pick-up point for SWs who are not entirely pros so they inform me. The best bet will be to cruise around the area with an English speaking taxi/tuk-tuk driver. The SWs start to appear near mid-night onwards if police patrols are absent.

My friend who has been a resident in Bangkok for the past 8 years swear the girls are more beautiful (Asian perspective) than those in NEP, Cowboy etc but they don't speak English and he warned mongers to be very careful because the girls are independent and may walk out with your suit case.

In early May my friend and I cruise around said area and I picked up one girl - tall, slim, rather fair, rather beautiful, very little English. We brought her to my hotel (I stayed at Maxx that time). I remembered service was good inc BBBJ and damage was TB1500 with no expectation of taxi fare. At 01:30 Maxx hotel did not have any security and my friend waited at the lift lobby of the floor of my room as a precaution.

No barfine, no nonsense talk, just negotiate the price, take the sweet thing back to the hotel, BUT be careful of your wallets/bags/etc. I shall be pleased to hear of fellow mongers' experience re the girls from around Siam hotel area.

Sounds like the area right next to the Mona Lisa massage parlor. If it is, then it's girls mostly looking for Thai gentlemen. English ability is very limited and selection is similar to the Nana area girls. Prices are usually 1,500 baht ST and 2,500 baht LT, but of course it depends on the girl.

ST rooms are available in the Siam hotel, the last time I checked. Add another 500 baht. Most of the girls don't like leaving the area and prefer hotels close by like the Siam. Don't get this mixed up with the Siam City hotel.

There are 2 highways from the new airport to say, soi 4. A north and southern road through Bangna (also the elevated road to Pattaya from Bangkok. It seems to me the northern road is shorter, but I could be mistaken. Can anyone clarify this?

Also, what can we tell the taxi driver to ensure they take the shorter route. Last time a woman driver took me to the southern route and it seemed like we went through 100 Baht before we even got out of the airport.

If you agree to a fixed price in advance, and YOU pay the tolls, you can be 100% sure that the taxi driver will take the shortest route possible.

If one was to negotiate a fixed price with the taxi at the airport to go to Sukhumvit, what should it be? Are most taxi drivers prone to rip you off if you ask for them to use the meter?

I find that fixed prices are often in the favor of the taxi driver. People should choose meter over fixed in most cases. I am more interested in shortest distance and least traffic. I hate to spend the few minutes left of the evening after the plane arrives, standing in traffic or taking the long way into town.

Actually, I found I could get from the plane to a room in almost 1 hour exactly from the old airport. The new one takes just a few minutes more, if you can get the right taxi going in the right direction.

Typically, the taxi meter from Suvarnabhumi to Sukhumvit will be in the 220 to 250 baht range. Plus they get a 50 baht surcharge for using the airport cab line, plus tip. plus tolls (which I think are now 65 baht).

They have been trying to get 400 fixed plus tolls, I generally can negotiate them down to 350 plus tolls, which IMHO, comes out to be around the same as using the meter plus a very reasonable tip. Worst case, I'm overpaying them by a dollar. I can live with that.

You take a taxi to Petchaburi Road, Siam Hotel. The action is late, after midnight.

If the girls are not at the road in front of Siam Hotel you walk to the right (if you look at Siam Hotel), 100 m, there is a junction. Turn left there, another 50 m, turn left again, you reached the road behind Siam Hotel then.

I don't know anything about action behind Mona Lisa. The distance between Mona Lisa and Siam Hotel is (estimated) not more than 500 m. And - this is a Thai scene, it will be difficult without speaking basic Thai.

I think we are talking Apples and Oranges here. I suspect that you stayed at the Siam City Hotel on Phayathai near Siam Square. The Siam Hotel is a well known short time hotel and is a neighbor to the Mona Lisa massage parlor on New Petchaburi road.

If you stayed at the Siam Hotel, you would not miss the Mona Lisa massage parlor. Have the taxi take you to the Mona Lisa massage parlor and check out the Siam Hotel coffee shop. There are two coffee shops, only one of them has the majority of the girls. The reason I suggest having the taxi take you to the Mona Lisa, is there's less confusion. If you tell them Siam Hotel, you may most likely end up at the Siam City Hotel.

The girls previously hung out in front of the Siam Hotel, but I believe most are now either in the coffee shop or in the back of the hotel. I'm not sure if Law enforcement had anything to do with it, or just the visibility on that back road. The back road of the hotel, is where Tom II saw all of the girls. Anywhere from 30-100 girls on any given night. Lot's of cars cruising by checking them out. Prime time is around 1:00am - 3:00am in the morning.

You see almost 100% Asian customers, Thai, Japanese, Korean, etc. I'm not sure how accepting they are of Non-Asian customers. Like Giotto just mentioned, most of the girls speak primarily Thai. This area has been called the Thai's Thermae, although the quality is more like the Nana area. Sometimes better.

I don't know if I qualify as a "known man", but the Champagne Room is a very nice upscale bar. It has been mentioned before, but you are right, there have not been many if any reviews. It's billed as an upscale Gentlemen's club, and is pricey for BKK. That means less traffic, which to me is a good thing, but also less feedback on the threads. It's new, so that may also be a reason why so little pub. Finally, it's a "members" club, although I was not required to join. Spent over 5,000 baht easy though, for drinks, take out and the girls tip. The membership starts at around 20,000 baht, just to put it in perspective.

OK the directions and information about time of night to go help a lot. I did go to the right place, just at the wrong time, about 10-11pm if I remember right. There was no confusion between names for whichever hotel, I was in the right place on Petchaburi Road, for sure. I made my way over there on my own, and at the time I was actually staying at a hotel down in the Siam Square area and not any with Siam in the name.

Last question: is Mona Lisa west or east of Siam Hotel? I got that it's 500m away from it, but in which direction. Or if you face Siam Hotel, is Mona Lisa to the right of it or the left of it on Petchaburi Road? Thanks again.

it's still raining in bangkok -- not a real rain exactly, more of a slow drizzle. there are so many street vendors that you can walk down sukhumvit and avoid becoming soaked by ducking under their tarps and umbrellas. that's what i did friday.

after an early-afternoon visit to [CodeWord901] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord901)'s, the notorious bj bar, i tired of dodging raindrops so i headed back to livingstone's on soi 33, where i'm staying.

soi33 has a slower, quieter and more upscale feel than nana entertainment plaza -- once you get past the messy row of food vendors and general chaos at the intersection with sukhumvit. it's the street of the bars named for artists, mostly but not all french impressionists -- monet, degas, renoir, gauguin, goya, van gogh and dali. in the evening when the girls come out, they're dressed in finery, lots of long black dresses to go with their long black hair.

but it was still early -- around 4:30 -- so i wandered farther down soi 33. i ducked into pheeran spa, a legit-looking, upscale-appearing place that had none of the tackiness of the neighboring places with names like teen massage and love teeny.

two hours later i had a new understanding of the different ways the human body can be twisted by a deceptively strong 40-year-old thai lady, and a nice warm glow. there is nothing quite like a real thai massage. she urged me to come back tomorrow and try the third-floor upstairs service for an oil massage, which i assume is something that can end happily.

back to livingstone's for dinner. there are street vendors everywhere but i'd hate to spend tomorrow on the can, so i took the safe option. livingstone's was out of curry, which i favor, so i had a very mild, very sweet and sour fried chicken with vegetables and rice. the menu seems to cover a whole range from spicy thai to wimpy farang food, including burgers.

after dinner things were picking up at livingstone's bar but i needed cash, so i headed out to sukhumvit in search of an atm.

on a whim i kept walking west and when i saw little italy i knew i was at soi 23, which is the gateway to the infamous soi cowboy. (google bangkok bob's excellent soi cowboy map.)

soi cowboy is a delight -- much more gaudy than soi 33 while less cluttered than nana plaza. it's lined with bright signs and costumed girls. the schoolgirl motif seems to be highly favored. the street is closed to traffic, so it's like a shopping mall, and for some reason it seems a lot cleaner than nana.

i ignored the stand selling fried bugs and, since it was still happy hour, ducked into the doll house for a 50-baht beer. the stage was jammed with exposed nipples attached to variously sized titties attached to swaying girls, and the place had a fairly decent crowd of mostly white, mostly older men, but there didn't seem to be any interaction happening. i sipped my beer, then paid and left.

next stop was baccara, which has dealt with the widely publicized crackdown on nude dancing differently. its girls wear little wisps of fabric top and bottom, and if you're seated at the dance bar you can look up at occasional glimpses of heaven. the dancers will then smile as if embarrassed and tug their tiny dresses down, but of course they ride right back up.

Good report dude, just one or two things, not everything these girls say is a way of getting money out of you, some will tell you things about themselves and family that a western hooker wouldn't dream of mentioning. And not all girls want to nick off (especially at 11pm) to get another customer. If anything she might have been wording you up for an all nighter, especially if she had had a good time with you.

Well, don't be shy. Any lady of suitable age in a bar on Soi 33 is available for the right amount of money. Just ask. However, you do not need to be boorish about it and ask bluntly if her pussy is for rent. Why not strike a conversation and suggest that you and her head up for a drink back at your hotel. She will let you know what she can do for you.

This being said, in my view, the lasses in the painters bars of Soi 33 are mostly just the same farm girls that you can find in Soi CowBoy, but with nicer dresses. They might look a bit classier, but the marginally better looks do not necessarily translate into a better performance, and do not justify the significantly more expensive bar fine and fee.

By experience, I mean not just the sexual attention, but also and foremost the pleasantness of being with a lady. I have only limited experience of those bars, but I found that many girls there have a chip on their shoulder. They believe they are part of an elite, end they behave accordingly.

I would love if there was a place in Bangkok where paying more would mean having systematically access to more beautiful, educated and pleasant ladies. The Gentleman's clubs like Pegasus seem to be in that segment of the market, but I doubt that they truly ensure a better experience. The only thing guaranteed is a stratospheric bill. Too shy? They are working girls! LOL! The bar fines are 1,200 to 1,500 baht. I don't pay too much attention to price, hence the price range. Get over the shyness. It will limit your experiences and I don't think that will play well with the rest of the guys on the board. If you hesitate at a Go-Go bar, the girl you want may be pulled off stage by a more aggressive hobbyist! We are all different, but just a bit of advice.

While the prices are higher, I don't think the girls are any better looking than you will find elsewhere. Just better dressed. I will say, they do seem to be more GFE than say Nana girls. In general, they are not trying to get back to the bar to score a 2nd "date". While some of the girls do exhibit some aloofness, it's not an across the board thing and the girls I have spent time with were very down to earth.

The most stunning girl I ever saw in BKK was in one of the Soi 33 bars, but alas she did not go out with anyone but Thai guys and spoke no english. That's what I was told, but maybe it was just me? No need to explain the concept of "Mamasan". It's actually "Mama-san", with it's roots I believe based in Japan and it's definitely an Asian based term. The bars in Hawaii all have their Mama-san's and we have more hostess bars and Asian Massage parlors (AMP's) than any other U.S. city. All the girls report and answer to the Mama-san's.

"Good choice" - that depends. We have 45 girls working here at the moment, usually 25 - 30 are there every day. And then it depends on your taste. If you find somebody here - fine, otherwise you look somewhere else.

Granted, I've been out of the game for a little while, but my rule of thumb for the last few years has been to aim for no more 1200 LT, and say good tip if service is good - tipping enough to take it up to 2000 if they are really good (normally I'll go to 1600 if they are reasonably good).

I don't do much ST. Do note that 1000 seems to be enough for LT for girls off the street - once more, a tip of 500 or so if they are good.

If I payed 3000 I'd feel like I was getting really ripped off and wouldn't enjoy myself.

Just stick to your guns and 9 times out of 10 you'll get agreement for these prices.

Do note that once you've gone to a place and set 'your price' it seems to be a lot less hassle on subsequent visits.

I think it is important that you do not contribute to the upward pricing spiral. I know this has been debated endlessly and others have different points of view, but I view overpaying as akin to littering in an eyewateringly pristine national park. It provides a short term benefit to you, but it damages the environment for all that follow you. People can claim it is none of my business how they spend their money, but they could also claim that it is none of my business when rhinos in Africa are shot - on one level they are right, but overypaying is an egregious violation of the social contract between all of us farangs. It is selfish and in the long run hurts not only yourself, but all hobbyists.

Like I said, the prices are negotiable and yes, those are asking prices. The prices I quoted are more applicable to the better looking Nana girls. Soi Cowboy is generally cheaper and you can find girls in Nana who will take less. Each girl has a good idea of what they are worth on the market. You can figure that out pretty quickly. And by all means bargain. That's BKK. I have had those that don't talk about money at all, not even in the morning and they happily accept what I gave them.

Keep in mind, many of the hotter looking girls will not accept less. They know what they can get and what their market value is. It's your choice if you want to walk away or not. You will pay a premium for looks in general. You will probably not get a looker for 1, 000 baht, unless you are Brad Pitt or are a longtime friend with some history. What happens in reality, is that millions of people determine what the going rate is and nothing will stop that.

I know you were only taking time out to get on your soapbox. Understood. I do feel for those, who feel that prices in BKK are getting away from them. Unfortunately, stopping people from paying what they want to pay, is like trying to stop the flow of information on the internet. Can't be done. At least not without some catastrophic event.

Last time I was in Thailand I booked my flight from BKK to Chiang Mai in advance. However, a lot of people say to wait until you arrive for booking intra country flights. This time I want to fly from BKK to Chiang Mai. Stay a few days and then book a flight to Udon or Ubon for a few days. Then back to BKK. Then from BKK to Phuket for a few days round trip. All in November.

Do you think it's necessary to book these intra-country flights in advance or can I wait until I get to Thailand to book them? I saw a post where one guy said he got stranded in Chiang Mai for 8 days because he couldn't get a flight out! I certainly could wait a few hours or maybe a day, but I certainly wouldn't want to get stranded for a few days. My time is precious. What do you think?

I visit BKK often due to my work. I've posted my experience with Eden club a few weeks ago, but still have one more experience from April07. I was not a member here then.

Here is a little report about what I experienced the first time I travelled to Bangkok. My goal was clear. I am single on a vacation to Bangkok. You can figure out the goal of this vacation. Food, shopping, and. Eh. These special activities so thoroughly described in this forum. :.the!

Finding a hotel is not that easy as one would think, especially when the prices are 50 % lower than I am used to. (yes. Western Europe! ). And there are SO many to choose from! :.) So for starters I promised myself to live at some place special. I decided on 3 hotels. The first one being Banyan Tree, Livingstones and last the Baiyoke tower. The first and last because I am sucker for tall buildings. :.) At the time of writing this, I am at day 3. (Livingstone's).

Well. I hope this doesn’t get toooo boring. .

Day 1.

The Hotel:

Arrived In BKK via Singapore Sunday morning. Was picked up by a hotel limo (which I later found out was not debited my account! ) I checked in at my first destination. Why Banyan Tree? . Well because I was looking for a special restaurant and woops. There was Vertigo. On the 59 th floor, below the open sky with a great view over the city. And a luxury spa hotel underneath. It is pure luxury. And should be tried once. But that said. It pisses me of, that during my very short stay, they managed to conduct a questionnaire interview over the phone, send me a spam email about investing in Banyan Tree guest houses and last when I was settling the bill, they wanted me to pay 1, 5 Euro (sorry I am from Euro country! :.the) pr. Been in LOS for three days, so in return for the info given to me by members of this forum, here is a brief TR.

Am staying at Livingstone's Lodge and will post a separate review in Giotto's forum, but it is clean, close to action (including some inhouse talent at the sports bar) and good value for money.

I took a basic room with all mod cons at 1600 Bht per day

A meal (lunch or dinner) with a couple of beers will set you back between 450Bth and 700Bht. The cheaper end of the scale is Thai food (which is good but hot) and the more expensive is western food. This is either within the hotel or within a short walk. There are also plenty of food stalls by the side of the road with some good looking options. I have not tried them though as I figure that since there are no hygenic washing facilities nearby, there is a good chance of ingesting faecal coliforms with the food. Up to you of course.

There is good variety of mongering action within two to fifteen minutes walk of Livingstone's Lodge. Almost next door are Massage Parlours such as Love Teen and the 'Artist' bars that have names of famous painters as their themes. I tried Love Teen. There was a line up of about fifteen ladies (but I had to ask them to come out of their room, otherwise I would have been given no choice). I picked one, and got a satisfying hour of pleasure. Covered, for 2100 Bht in total.

Next night I walked to Soi Cowboy about fifteen mins away by foot. Drinks were about 100 for a beer/Diet Coke, and 120 for Lady Drink. Rawhide and Long Gun had nekkid ladies and good dancers. Shark had shufflers in bikinis but nice lookers. Toy bar had not many lookers, but allowed customers who bought lady drinks to suck face and unzip the pant python for a play at the bar. Took a lady from Shark Bar, cost 500Bht Bar fine, 2000ST for her, 300 for a ST hotel room at the end of the Soi. Total 2800 Bht.

Next night, got on the Skytrain to Annies. Mostly not my type, but you only need one, and I found her. 2000Bht (1500 for the house and 500 for her). Bath, massage, BBBJ cfs 1. 5 hrs. Skytrain ticket 120Bht all day.

So, all up for a day, my budget for hotel, food, booze lady and a Skytrain ticket is about 5500-6000Bht per day. Of course, you can spend more or less if you want.

I have used Raja's Fashions on Sio 4, right accross from the Nana hotel and next to the entrance to NEP, many times over the years and can recommend them without reservation. I got a recommendation to go to Raja's from a very good friend of mine who has lived in BKK for almost 10 years.

They are not the cheapest n BKK, but their quality and workmanship are among the best in BKK (if not the best). I have gotten many compliments on the suits I bought, and they have held up well. Price depends upon fabric (there are a few more expensive fabrics) but I was paying about $250 or $300 for a suit last year, before the dollar dropped. I would recommend getting custom shirts, which are a bargain. It works out to $25 per shirt (also before the dollar dropped), which is much cheaper than what I can by good shirts for in the US, and the fit and comfort is far superior. Usually they have a package, which includes suits, shirts, and ties. I skip the ties, as I already have many and did not think their tie selection was very good. usually they will throw in another shirt in place of the ties. I'll be in BKK in a few weeks and plan to make another puchase.

If you do need to get good ties, the malls in BKK have many good designer stores that have quality silk ties for much less than the US. Often, the keep the ties in the back of the shop, and may not be in the window.

One reason for posting on this forum is so that we can get a feel for prices.

The prices for food were at restaurants close to the action with published menus. So not sure how I can reduce those prices, or how that pushes up the prices for "the rest of us". Like I said in my post, no doubt food would be cheaper if you want to buy it from people who obviously have nowhere to wash their hands after cratpping. However, please list me some hygenic alternatives and some typical prices, and I will be glad to patronise them. I emphasise hygenic, because if I have to spend a day on the crapper because of some local bug, that adds a day's worth of holiday and pain and suffering to the cost, I am not interested, and it is not cheap.

Similarly for the hotel. Perhaps you can get cheaper, but does your alternative have new bathroom, tv, cable, pool, aircon, clean, restaurant, aircon bar with on-site ladies, central, friendly? Livingstone's Lodge has all that, but since I am in no way connected with that establishment, if you can come up with a better alternative that also has all of the above, let us know. I really truly promise not to pay any more than the required price. You do have an alternative, right?

Similarly for the massage parlours, the prices seem to be standard there from other reports published (I did RTFF. Giotto did an extensive report elsewhere, and I paid no more than those prices). Of course, if you publish a similar extensive report showing how one can get good quality at a cheaper price. I promise not to pay any more than that price.

However, I am quite happy to be proven wrong, so how about you publish a Trip Report that tells us what one should be able to pay for the stunner of your choice in any of these places? Or for a hotel that has all the above at a better price. Or a hygenic restaurant with a great range of food and dirt cheap prices. That is the challenge for you sir. I have used Raja's Fashions on Sio 4, right accross from the Nana hotel and next to the entrance to NEP, many times over the years and can recommend them without reservation. I got a recommendation to go to Raja's from a very good friend of mine who has lived in BKK for almost 10 years.

They are not the cheapest n BKK, but their quality and workmanship are among the best in BKK (if not the best). I have gotten many compliments on the suits I bought, and they have held up well. Price depends upon fabric (there are a few more expensive fabrics) but I was paying about $250 or $300 for a suit last year, before the dollar dropped. I would recommend getting custom shirts, which are a bargain. It works out to $25 per shirt (also before the dollar dropped), which is much cheaper than what I can by good shirts for in the US, and the fit and comfort is far superior. Usually they have a package, which includes suits, shirts, and ties. I skip the ties, as I already have many and did not think their tie selection was very good. usually they will throw in another shirt in place of the ties. I'll be in BKK in a few weeks and plan to make another puchase.

If you do need to get good ties, the malls in BKK have many good designer stores that have quality silk ties for much less than the US. Often, the keep the ties in the back of the shop, and may not be in the window.

The guys that own it are Indian born Seiks that were raised in BKK. They don't advertise and Thai cabbies since then always try to steer me to some Thai Tailor clip joint. I got 6 pairs of custom made trousers ranging about $25-30 each where they used Italian tropical wool that I could machine wash and they wore like a pair of levis. The Federal Hotel on Suk, Soi 11 is where I always stay. It's a great place. Not a big lobby hotel, but it's got a grat little pool, perfect restaurant. and is vey nice. Check it out on the internet. About 1500, cheaper for 1st floor rooms.

Just returned from 10 days in Bangkok and would like to give my offering. My buddy and I stayed at the Livingstone Lodge the entire time and I was very pleased. The room was very quit, clean and comfortable. Soi 33 is a great launching pad. I enjoyed The Office lounge directly across the street, live band that took requests. Can't really agree that 30 mins is good enough.
There are a lot of bars in the Soi and many are still a complete mystery to me. I will probably never get to look in to most of them. Research first is a good idea.

Some bars are very variable in the quality of girls dancing at any point in time and the types of shows they are putting on.
Other bars are very much the same throughout (the boring ones).

Suzi Wong can be quite dull until you get a front row during the lesbian or oil shows, then its dynamite.

Long Gun has the very ugly shows (that others love) like pussy smoking, pussy firing darts, razor blades, etc.
Then they have some quite nice dance numbers that others might say were very tame. But in the end they have a variety.
The quality of the girls varies a lot from season to season.

But golden rule, try some bars recommended by others on this Forum. Do a search. Get there early before all the pretty girls are taken.
Determine if you are looking for the most beautiful girls, or the sleeziest bar possible, or what.

I don't find that looking in the door for a few moments works for all bars as the bar may be just in a brief pause moment before something happens.

Leave your money in the bank ATM's are everywhere (cirrus, star, etc)
Best rates are thru ATM as long as your bank is part of above system.
Take a little cash 200-300 in cash in case you loose your card (or its stolen)
Whatever you feel comfortable with! Use the safes in most room and don't trust anybody (lock it or loose it)

if you dont need your cash bring it home with you!

I have had very good success with Sabai Sabai. Probably better than an escort service in value, when you use the take out rates and the tip to the girl. Of course, they don't have any stunners, but I have had several cuties that combined a great massage with extra's. Some HJ finishes and some FS.

The 24/7 aspect of Sabai Sabai, makes them a great choice. Most of the girls will quote you 1,000 for HJ and 1,500/2,000 for FS. You can get most of them down to a more reasonable 500 for HJ and 1,000 for FS. Of course, alot depends on the girl and of course your negotiating skills.

AT2Maybe you werre lucky. I have never seen good exchange rates at an airport (One exception may be Manila). I can just tell you that both the places I mentioned have very good rates. You can see that when looking at the spreads. Vasu normally has a spread of 10-15 Satang on the US Dollar, Superrich sometimes as low as 3-7 Satang, but that is not always worth the longer way. (For those who would want to ask, the spread is the difference between buying and selling at the same time). Superrich is the place where many of Bangkok's money changers change their daily turnover. I was referred to the place by a supplier.

I dont' know anyone who goes to Xe.com or Oanda.com to change money, so not sure how they'd be ripping anyone off by reporting higher exchange rates. Currently there are 2 fx markets for THB. Onshore and Offshore. This came about a few months ago when the military govt instituted regulations to stop Bahy appreciating (which it failed at doing).

The offshore THB is trading below 30 these days. This is NOT the rate you will get if you are in Thailand. That rate will be around 33.5.

You ask why would anyone exchnage at 30? Its institutional investors who want to buy Thai assets but not be subject to the 30% 1 yr witholding by the Thai govt.

They do, in fact, point out that the rates published are the international rates and that local rates may vary. It's common to see places like the PI and Thailand to have more favorable exchange rates than is published on sites like Xe.com. While places like Japan, would have local exchange rates very close to the published rates.

I did say, I thought the rates were fair. I do account for the difference in the international rates and thought that the airport rate on that day was fair. Even if the banks were offering a .4 or .5 rate difference, that amounts to a grand total of US$15 on a $1,000. I didn't see that kind of spread, so I figure I lost about $7 and saved some time. I hit the road running.

If you are a newbie or if your time is important, just know what the rate should be and keep in mind, how little .5 exchange rate points is on $1,000 to $2,000, and make an educated decision. Time vs. Money, with time = pussy in this case. Currently there are 2 fx markets for THB. Onshore and Offshore. This came about a few months ago when the military govt instituted regulations to stop Bahy appreciating (which it failed at doing).

The offshore THB is trading below 30 these days. This is NOT the rate you will get if you are in Thailand. That rate will be around 33.5.

You ask why would anyone exchnage at 30? Its institutional investors who want to buy Thai assets but not be subject to the 30% 1 yr witholding by the Thai govt.
This offshore rate thing is strange. I managed to change my Thai Baht at HSBC in Hong Kong into USD at the offshore rate, but they refuse to accept cash into the account for the time being.

Of course sites like xe.com is wrong. Back when the dollar was strong, they quoted exchange rates above what you could actually get via ATM's or exchanges. Now that the dollar is weaker, they under-estimate the exchange rate.

That's why travelers shouldn't use sites like XE.com - it's not useful for their purposes.

Yes, I learned this valuable lesson the hard way the first time I came to Thailand last October. I exchanged $100 USD at the Washington DC airport at the rate of about 31 Thai Baht to the dollar. When I arrived in Thailand, the common rate on the streets in BKK was over 37 baht to the dollar, so I got screwed out of 6 baht for every dollar -- more than enough for a BBBJ from a bar girl in Pattaya.

Just now, I checked the rates on OANDA.com -- 30.29937 bhat to the $. Then I checked at bangkokbank.com -- 33.26 to the $ -- almost 3b to the $ better. That amounts to a huge difference if you want to exchange $1000.
From now on I will check the exchange rate at bangkokbank.com, and never exchange any currency until I arrive in the LOS.

In the beginning I would walk around looking at the exchange rate trying to get the best rates so did my friend. Today I only use the ATM for my cash, but my friend is still walking around in the 100 degree heat trying to get the best rate. Maybe .01,.02 better. This reminds me of my first time in BKK, It must have been over a 100 degrees and I was near the US Embassy, and wanted to go back to the Nana Hotel, I was told that the Tuk Tuk was 40 Baht to the hotel so when I ask the Tuk Tuk take me to Nana and how much? he said 50 baht, I said no fucking way to my brother and he agreed as we walked away. We ended up walking all the way back in that heat from the US Embassy. When we got back as olded as he was he wanted to kick my ass for making him walk back because I didn't want to pay the 10 baht. I told him don't waste your time for I wanted to kick my own ass for being so stupid and cheap!

I have a friend that always goes to the bank (here in the USA) and exchanges Dollars for "destination currency" befare he leaves the country. I have tried to politely explain to him how stupid this is but he does it anyway. I suppose it gives him peace-of-mind hitting foreign soil with local currency in-pocket. I have found that, wherever I go, the worst exchange rate is in the USA. The next worst exchange rate is at the airport in the country I visit; the best rate is usually the farthest away from the airport.

In Mexico I was trading Dollars for Pesos with the local grain and bean dealer in the open market place. He gave me a terrific rate! I just bite the bullet and exchange enough cash at the airport to make it until I find a reasonable deal. Now, if I can only learn to deal with the Thai women!

I will largely disagree with this report. I have been numerous times in Grace and the surrounding areas. It is one of pick-up locations if you prefer "russian" girls. Finally made it back to LoS after a 15 year break. After reading the forum for ages, just had to try out Livingstones. Lovely place, with great ambience (not sterile like the international hotels), almost like staying at a friend’s place.

Unfortunately was only in BKK 1 night, and a colleague who is a long time resident had arranged a full night, so was not able buy Giotto a beer (next time, I promise!), nor check out the late night action in the Sports bar.

Anyway, arrived mid afternoon from a week in Phuket (check that forum for that report), and had a couple of hours to kill before meeting up with my colleague. Walked to the end of Soi33, but couldn’t be arsed walking any further, so turned around to check out the Office right across the road from Livingstones. At 4pm on a Friday I was one of only 3 people inside, but was surrounded by a bevy (ie over a dozen) of lovely ladies wearing hot pink see-thru nighties! Had a few beers there, & nearly didn’t leave, but had to meet up with my mate.

After a shower, he called & arranged to meet… at the Office! Had another couple of beers there before dinner…. Decided to come back later in the night if nothing else happened. Very pleasant dinner in Italian restaurant up the road, then across the road to Christies. I am no oil painting, but had I grown that old & disgusting?

However, another girl had already caught my fancy (#57), so had forgotten about Strike 3. It was getting a little late for me (1am) and I didn’t want to waste too much of my time, so got buddy to chat up girl #4. All settled at 2500 + BF. Taxi back to Livingstone’s while my mate (“pimp”) moves onto another bar.

The same reasons they ask about American, French, Indian, Lebanese, or Italian restaurants. Despite the great Thai food, they may have a favorite that they want while away from home or may just want to mix it up a bit. They may live in BKK and want to sample something new or they may go to BKK every other month and want to broaden the menu.

Many of us may not need anything but Thai, but I can certainly understand why someone else may ask that question. I'm sure if you really think about it, you can come up with a dozen different reasons.

You are also probably wrong to assume that he went to BKK in search of non-Thai girls. He's probably there to see Thai girls and may want to add to the mix. He could be there on business and Thai girls may not be his first choice. He could be there on vacation with wife/girlfriend and is looking for some action on the side and may like Thai girls but may have other first choices. The danger in assuming is that you have no idea why he's there, what his reasons are, etc.

Just keep in mind, people have their reasons. Most of the time, it's a good one, at least for them and for those with similar tastes. If J-Girls were available, I would definitely be in line, especially at BKK prices.

My suggestion would be Sukhumvit, as close to the airport toll way. Places open at around 11:00 AM.

I was in town after a long absence and stayed for 3 days. I had this happened to me and I want to warn people who have bank accounts in Thailand.

When I was here last week and went to get some money out from my Bangkok Bank account from ATM. Tried to get 10000 out, but the ATM said I do not have enoght funds. It was strange because I always have about 400000 to 500000 in this account. I called customer service and they told me there were total 12 ATM withdraws and bank transfers recently, my balance down to 67 bahts, and I wasn't even here in BBK during all these activities. So I demand my money back, they said they will investigate.

After countless calls and spoke to countless people in the customer service, finally they called me back the first time. They told me there were bank transfers and ATM withdrws, and I asked them to what account, amazingly they said the person somehow transfered my money to unknown accounts and deleted the records. I pushed them for answer if this is an inside job, but they refused to answer.

After 2 days of grueling wait and countless telefone calls, they reluctanlty start to give my money back but at 6 different interval as they told me. I have no understanding of why they won't give me back my stolen money at once, and have to break it into 6 times on 6 different days.

I still have to check if all money came back. But I am worried about keeping money in Thailand, because if someone inside the bank knows you are not living here or rarely make trip here, they will try to clear your accounts. I am sure this is an inside bank job. How can some regular thief transfer money to unknown accounts without use of ATM or passport, just by cliking the bank's internal computer.

When the money all come back, I am ready to take all out and keep it in my other accounts in Singapore or HK. This is scary because its no ordinary ATM fraud. I am 100% sure someone in the bank stole all my money through the bank internal computer. The customer service refused to tell me its inside job or not, even the supervisor lied to me that they cannot pass out this information. By the way they try to avoid my question, the truth is clear enough, our entrusted bankers stole our entrusted funds.

I was a victims of ATM fraud quite a few times in Thailand, but this one is different because its done by the people you entrust the most-the bank itself. I believe these inside guys target me because I am foriegner and I am rarely here and rarely make any transections all these times. This can happen to me and it can happen to any one. Just like to warn all of you with Thai bank accounts.

around 2.30 a.m. i'd gotten as far as soi 11. still tons of girls and punters were about, a real street carnival sort of atmosphere. it was hard to move forward because of the spillover from the fold-up eateries crowding the sidewalk. i was beginning to suffer from sensory overload - the sights, smells, sounds and above all, the humidity, were beginning to get to me. i needed to sit down and regroup my thought processes.

i grabbed a vacant seat at one of the sidewalk eateries and ordered a chang. i don't think the waiter (owner?) was happy to be giving up valuable seating space for only the price of a beer, but he didn't argue with me. the beer was ice cold and i pressed the bottle against the inside of my forearms to help cool me me off. i don't know if it has any basis in fact, but i've heard that cooling down the forearms is one of the quickest way to lower body temperature in hot, sticky weather. seemed to work for me, and the beer did taste good. i knocked it back in a few swallows to replenish bodily fluids, then ordered another to drink at leisure while i pondered my next move. the sidewalk eatery's waiter/owner nodded in approval of the speed at which i had knocked back the first bottle.

the car dealers at that point vacated their table and were replaced by a group of middle eastern men, one of whom was wearing traditional dress. it brought back memories - almost none of them fond - of the time i'd spent in the gulf states. i recalled when the sheikhs used to board commercial airliners with hooded falcons on their arms. the flight attendants would spread out newspapers on the first-class seat beside the sheikh so both the falconer and his bird could fly in comfort. once a sheikh tried to bring along two dead rabbits in case his falcon got hungry en route, but the stewardess reminded him the rule was one carrion per passenger.

i ordered a third beer and tried to marshal my random thoughts into a plan of action, but kept getting distracted. a few tables away, a tg is arguing furiously with several men. i imagined the argument centered on services rendered but not paid for, at least not at the level the girl had wanted. by the looks of them, the men were east europeans and quite literally tough customers. they were both battle-scarred and tattooed, clearly the veterans of some hellish prison system.

i'm firmly convinced that it's usually better to negotiate in detail what's expected. politely but directly, i'll talk to the lady about how long she's willing to stay, what services she'll provide and the compensation she expects. with fler's off the street or out of bars, it's almost always best to establish very clear parameters. that way both she and i know what to expect, thereby minimizing the chance that either of us will be surprised or disappointed.

of course, not everyone will agree with this approach. plenty of experienced mongers believe too much explicity destroys the mood and the illusion of a girl-friend experience. these punters say they never mention price or terms and should the lady do so, they'll reject her without further ado.

maybe it's a consequence of getting older or maybe i'd just gotten used to the surety and transparency of the eden experience, but i felt a bit uneasy about going back to my hotel without having any idea about what would happen. would she stay two hours or 12? would she expect 1,500 baht or 4,000 baht? maybe some guys enjoy the vagaries of the hunt, but i much prefer the certainty of an eden session. however, self-doubt wasn't going to win me anything in the current situation, so i put away the negative speculation and decided just to go with the flow.

Thanks for the info RCA. I seldom use my ATM card while in LOS. I use traveler checks. They are easy to cash and safe. If I recall correctly the exchange rate is slightly higher. I realize nobody use traveler checks any more, but I still like them.

I only use credit cards at well known establishments. Credit card fraud in Asia is also rampant.

I was in town after a long absence and stayed for 3 days. I had this happened to me and I want to warn people who have bank accounts in Thailand.

When I was here last week and went to get some money out from my Bangkok Bank account from ATM. Tried to get 10000 out, but the ATM said I do not have enoght funds. It was strange because I always have about 400000 to 500000 in this account. I called customer service and they told me there were total 12 ATM withdraws and bank transfers recently, my balance down to 67 bahts, and I wasn't even here in BBK during all these activities. So I demand my money back, ...

Is this a coincidence, or bad timing, or what? On Friday, I just requested my US brokerage account to wire transfer a rather large sum of money to my Bangkok Bank Pattaya Branch account in order to comply with the rules necessary for acquiring a Thai long stay retirement visa in the future. (The money must come from outside the country and be in the account for at least 3 months before the visa application is made)

The transfer has not been completed yet. Now I'm wondering WTF I should do. I've not heard of this happening before, so it must not be commonplace. There are thousands of expats in LOS who have bank accounts and none of them has complained about this kind of fraud to my knowledge.

Did you get all your money back? Has anyone else been a victim of this?

MBK is the Mah Boon Krong shopping center. It's one of the larger shopping complexes, but there are others. It's located near the Siam Station. Just get off at that station and get a short cab ride from there.

Do yourself a favor and pickup the Groovy Map, when you arrive in BKK. You can probably find it at the airport and in convenience stores. It's great for first timers and it gives you a good visual of the city. You can buy it online too, but not sure what the shipping would be. Link included below.

I pushed them for answer if this is an inside job, but they refused to answer.

After 2 days of grueling wait and countless telefone calls, they reluctanlty start to give my money back but at 6 different interval as they told me. I have no understanding of why they won't give me back my stolen money at once, and have to break it into 6 times on 6 different days.

I still have to check if all money came back. But I am worried about keeping money in Thailand, because if someone inside the bank knows you are not living here or rarely make trip here, they will try to clear your accounts. I am sure this is an inside bank job. How can some regular thief transfer money to unknown accounts without use of ATM or passport, just by cliking the bank's internal computer.

When the money all come back, I am ready to take all out and keep it in my other accounts in Singapore or HK. This is scary because its no ordinary ATM fraud. I am 100% sure someone in the bank stole all my money through the bank internal computer. The customer service refused to tell me its inside job or not, even the supervisor lied to me that they cannot pass out this information. By the way they try to avoid my question, the truth is clear enough, our entrusted bankers stole our entrusted funds.

I was a victims of ATM fraud quite a few times in Thailand, but this one is different because its done by the people you entrust the most-the bank itself. I believe these inside guys target me because I am foriegner and I am rarely here and rarely make any transections all these times. This can happen to me and it can happen to any one. Just like to warn all of you with Thai bank accounts.


This is also known to happen in HK so not just specific to LOS. As long as fraud is evident, banks will give you your money bank . The reputation risk for them is worth alot more than your funds. You did get the money back? If you really want to make some noise threaten to go to the Bank of Thailand for a complaint. You local bank may pay you off not to do that so you may come out ahead.

I hope I can add some light on your situation based on my own limited situation and experience in Thailand. I believe you mentioned that your account is with the Bank of Bangkok. Based on your post it would not be unlikely that your ATM card number might have been compromised even though you were not in Thailand. I'm home now in the states because I had to come home to fill out fraud reports for someone using my credit card in the states while I was in Thailand and had the card in my possession. The crooks were able to charge nearly 10,000 on my credit card without ever having to show a I.D. topping it off they went to Carl Jr. and charged nearly a 100.00 in fast food without showing a I.D. I myself can't even do that!

But the reason the Bank gave you certainly don't sound right because everytime I take out large amount I always had to show my passport, which they make a copy and have me sign it prior to giving me the money. If it was me and the Bank official was so evasive I certainly would have demanded to talk to the Bank branch manager and thereafter I would have taken his name to the Headquarter Bank in Bangkok and demanded some answers. From what I understand the Bank of Bangkok is the now the official bank in New York that our Social Security office is using to make direct deposits for expats in Thailand. I would indicate to the Headquarter Bank in Bangkok that I will be writing to my Congressman, the US Embassy in Thailand and Social Security Administration Director of my situation. I don't believe that the Bank of Bangkok could afford to lose this account.

I certainly will be keeping a eye on my money since I myself hold money in this same bank and when I return I certainly will be making a visit to the bank that is in question to give my view of your situation to the bank manager.

A few months ago in Thailand my brother and I instructed our bank to wire some money into each of our accounts in Thailand (The Bank of Bangkok) his sum was much larger than mines. A day later I checked my account and the money was in the bank but his larger sum was not! He contacted the Bank manager at home and was told that the amount was being held up because there was a new law in place now that after 25,000 Uncle Sam wants to know why the money is being sent overseas? My brother was put in contact with the Bank of Bangkok in New York and had to fill out some forms as to the reason for the large transfer. After the forms were Fax back the money was transfered to his Thailand Bank.

There was also a problem with one of my transfers in the past for I took it for granted and didn't read the transfer transaction filled out by my branch manager. He has done them before but this time he added a extra number to my account number. The Bank of Bangkok contacted my Bank and informed that they got the money but the account number didn't exist. My Bank contacted me and I realized that a extra number was added to my account. Because the banking system is different than ours in the States it took nearly a week before the money was placed into my account. I had to go down to the Bank on 2nd Rd. in Pattaya to address the problem. It took me several hours and believe me I was fustrated and worry!

Concerning your Visa, the rules are so inconsistent. When you go online to try to obtain your Visa in Los Angeles. They want everything in the world! Particularly they want a background check on you but if you apply in Thailand ( Pattaya ) they don't ask for any background check. I certainly wouldn't have been able to obtain a Visa if I had to submit a background check verification. They say you need to have the money in the bank for 3 months before and after but when I submitted my application my brother transfer the amount to my account and after I got my Visa we transfer it back to his account and he went back a few weeks later and requested his and got it. There was a year that he submitted verification of the his bank account and he only had 110,000 baht in his account. So from my experience it depends on the day and the person. Living in Thailand with their rules you definitely have to have patience. If not you better learn fast!

I have one question though, did you go to the police and if not, why not?

I have used BKK bank for many years transferred money from the us, or deposited cash, I have the atm card and so forth. I got worried when my new atm card turned out to be a debit card as well. Also having been warned by friends I worried about the money that had slowly accumulated without paying any interest. I have to say however that to this day I have had only good experinces with BKK bank and all was straightforward. I moved the bulk of the money to another bank though where I do not have atm cards, and it is in government bonds and mutual funds and actually creates some interest. And just like in the us where the irs is notified when accounts go past 10 grand or bigger transactions are made I believe that people take notice when the 1 million baht line gets crossed. One is easily vulnerable to extortion here one way or the other. I therefore will keep deposits at one bank well below that mark.

My suggestion would be Sukhumvit, as close to the airport toll way. Places open at around 11:00 AM. Thanks for the advice. I was able to get in a 90 minute session at Angel Massage and still check in 2hrs 15min before my departure. As another poster said, traffic was light on the expressway on Sunday, and the airport wasn't busy either. I could easily have gotten in a 2 hr session.

I believe the Rama IX/Ratchadapisek MPs (La Defense, Catherines) can be reached faster from the airport than Angel Massage. Angel Massage opens at 11AM though, and had a large selection of girls available at 2PM. Eden Club was another possibility at that time of day too.

I have been banking in HK with Hang Seng and HSBC for 20 years, I never had any type of fraud this scale happened to me, only one time a small credit card fraud. This is what worry me, if these bank crooks get better and leave no traces of evidents, does it mean we the customers lose the funds forever out of the blues??!!

This time is enough for me to withdrw all my funds and deposit in Singapore.

Bangkok Bank for some strange reason returned me my lost funds of almost 450000 bahts on six different days. They said its company procedures, whatever that is. But i have lost trust in Thai banks, simply too much risk to sit our money there.

I don't know if you lived in HK and read the papers but it has happenned many times with even the major banks here in HK. Its usually a middle or branch manager who comes up with some scheme to siphon funds out to pay for debts in the hope that they will eventually put the money back.

The people are caught pretty quickly and the ones doing it are usually deep in debt.

With the FL's around BKK, like Nana car park, the agreed upon price covers it. I have never "tipped", except for extraordinary performances. Even the gifts, etc. are really not necessary. I have long experience so I know that all these categories exist and some others.

So how to get to these girls ???(the top class ones - anyone can get the ordinary ones any time).
1. Get to the bar real early before the other customers show up. e.g. 8.00 PM is good. You have just eliminated a lot of competition so now you have a chance.
2. Be polite and respectful, especially when you aren't getting what you want. Thai girls don't go for the arsehole approach. Be prepared to fight another day if you don't get you want today.
3. Be generous. Top class bar girls have a single motivation for being there. They need money and not just trivial amounts. Lets not debate why they need the money and all have different requirements for how much per month. Buying the girl drinks helps her earn commission , be seen to be achieving, and nice tips are much appreciated. Remember that top class girls have self respect will not tolerate bad behaviour just for small tips.
4. Make the girl feel comfortable. Don't do something unexpected. don't grope her unless she gropes you first and even then all movements should be slow so she can easily escape if she wants to. Grabbing the girl by the arm so she can't get away may work with some girls but have negative effects with others.
5. To make a girl unavailable for others to steal her away, you need to be prepared to bar-fine her. Don't leave this too long or some aggressive customer will walk in and attempt to bar-fine her immediately. Its polite of course to ask her permission to bar-fine her. She may have several reasons to refuse to go with you. She has an appointment at bar closing time. or she only does short time with a new customer, or its her period, or she is waiting for her regular, etc. Always be very polite in this case as you may get a chance another time. Some times a girls will change her mind later on and cancel her appointment if she likes you and the money is right. I have occasionally bar-fined a girl who is not available for ST or LT just to prevent her being stolen away.
6. Be interested in her rather than talking about yourself too much. Also reassure the girl that she doesn't need to make continual small talk by asking lots of questions. Silence is OK too at times when watching the show.
7. Let her know why you like her so much. Some girls know how good they are and others (usually shy ones don't). Some girls are lacking confidence thinking themselves too skinny, too fat, tits too small, too tall, too short, nose to small, arse too big etc. She may be very pleased to hear that someone really liked her tiny nose or long legs and that she looked tall like a model rather than a ladyboy.

I got to "Long Gun" about 8PM. The bar is not busy yet but gets very busy after midnight and stays open later than 2AM due to many customers.

About the first, the most experienced here seem to think there's no expectation, but I'm not totally convinced. See, there are so many fresh green tourists, I'm sure they expect to be able to squeeze a tip out of a good portion of them (the kinds of guys who post often here represent a small minority of the total customer base, I suspect). I'm not sure anyone knows what % of customers tip, or how much. Most people just know what they themselves do and what their friends do, and imagine that's how it is. Myself, I sometimes tip but not usually. How much, maybe up to 300 baht.

About the second, it sounds to me like you were just unlucky and were with some women who'd been working long enough that they just weren't tight anymore, or else had had a baby already. The only position I know that can solve that problem is to be in the same position as you were but with a different girl, one who's tighter.

About the last, it sounds from the way you worded your question that this part of spending time with the girl is something you're not totally comfortable with and maybe not enjoying. Central and South America are great, but if you have never been to BKK, then go to BKK. Any month of the year, is probably better than anywhere else in the world, when it comes to the hobby. It's a no brainer for me, but that's a personal choice. You need to experience it first hand, so you can make the best decision for yourself.

There are three types of weather in BKK. Warm, Hot and Very Hot! Between December and February, it would be considered the warm period. Pack some thermal underware just in case! Just kidding. I have been to Cartagena once, Xmas period, and I was not impressed at all.
Very few selection of working girls, restaurants etc. Rather small place. The only nice thing was the side trips to the small islands around and the old part of the city.

I have been to BKK almost a hundred times and I am planning of going back again early September.

So, although I prefer Colombianas to Thais and I speak some Spanish and nothing of Thai, I choose BKK with a side trip to Pattaya or preferably Phuket Island for its beaches.
