Then your best bet will be to try some of the higher end MPs as they often employ lighter skin northern gals catering to the asian crowds. You can get more info on the BKK massage parlor thread.

I arrived wednesday at 1300 on day six at the new BKK airport. I had feared long walks, long lines at immigration and a long wait at the luggage belt. But I experienced pleasant walk on moving sidewalks in a nice new airport, no line at immigration, a ten minuttes wait for my suitcase and the old "get a taxi at the departures level". The only long wait I had was at the suk/asoke interchange, where the taxi was stuck for 20 minuttes. I hope that the level of service stays this way as I'm going through BKK four times in the next two weeks.

As my arrival time at Livingstone Lodge was earlier than expected, the room was not ready for another 20 minuttes - and I was politely invited for a beer at the bar while the check-in took place. This is my first visit to Livingstone Lodge and after two nights this place has my best recommendations. I usually stay at international five star hotels as my business takes me around the world, and the five stars garanties that the hotel is clean, efficient, decent run and the staff is polite. My experience in "going down in stars" are that you are not always garantied what you get. LL is not a five star hotel, but does actually have the quality and friendliness that more than compensated the missing gym or business lounge/fax machine for the guests and other more or less useless items. Moreover, I fell at home, the service is personal, both Giotto and Guido looks you straigh in the eye and feeds you the bare facts, no bullshit, no excuses, no vague promises that you would exprience elsewhere.

I have allready booked my next stay for the french maid weekend mid october. I will report after that

A MP might open at 2PM officially but be much better at 4 or 5 PM.

Poseidon is best after 4 PM in my opinion but official starting time may be earlier..

There are other places including MPs that are open in the morning.

So good advice needs to be tailored to what time you are starting and your objectives, i.e. how many different experiences you want in the 12 hour period - travel time to and from airport.

Best to hang out in a district where there are many options at all times.

Giotto's previous MP summaries for Sukhumwit area probably give opening times and style info but doubt if skin preferences would be included.

Diverging a little:

Many mongers like me are more focused more on face and body shape and don't care how dark or light. Northern girls have a tendancy to a squarish face shape with wide jaw (but not all) that doesn't particularly attract me. I like a more narrow face. I therefore find myself going with central, and Isaan girls more and rarely northern. Has been the odd girl from Chiang Rai but Phitsanalok girls (officially central but close to the north) seem to attract me often. Department stores in Phuket are full of beautiful Thai girls, so I must like southern as well but so far only played up with 1 or 2. Not many southern girls on the P4P scene in Bangkok I suspect.

Finally Bangkok is not the best place in the world to go looking for light skinned girls but there are still plenty of lightish skinned Thais and of course many Russian girls of a lower standard than would find in Germany for example (so I never tried one in Thailand).

Finding a tailor that you are satisfied with is not easy. On my last visit to BKK I went with one of the Pakistani/Nepalise tailors. He made me two business suits and a several dress shirts. Off course he tried to make me buy more and more and threw in ties ect.

One of the suits he made I like and wear often - the rest I could live without. The ties I hate.

After som research I read several reports on a song. No - A. Song, tailor. He's thai and is located near The Oriental Hotel and very skilled. You have to have patient with him - it took me two full hours to get material picked out and measured. Then three fitting session more - a minimum of five days are required. But the result is excelent. The adress is Charoes Krung (New Road) soi 38. No hassle, no throwing in extras that you will never use anyway, just polite and sharp service. As he told me "Mr. ValeVincent, you have a large bumm...but we make the suit so it doesn't show...", shows the level of honest service.

So after tailoring I needed some mongering. I'm staying at the Livingstone Lodge (see Giotto's seperate sub-forum further down the Thailand forum). Last night I had the pleasure of meeting 1Ball and Piper1 who politely invited me along for a stroll down mongering lane. As I usually hobby alone the company was great. Good looking girls, fun guys, great music (Five Star Bar / Cowboy), and 1Ball introducing me to Nana Parkinglot. Later on my own I picked up stunning Nii at the Disco...we discoed down to Lovingstone Lodge, which it should accordingly be named and I was literally fucked by Nii. Furtunataly I got her number and will call on her next time in BKK. Hmm City og Angels.

Is that correct? I am thinking of stopping-over in BKK on my way to India. Would appreciate any input from other Mongers on whether BKK continues to be a safe place to travel. As others have noted, there has been virtually no impact to daily life (or night life, for that matter) in Bangkok.

My routine hasn't changed a bit, and I have traveled out of country and back twice with no dramas whatsoever.

I've posted several times about this already on various threads in LOS concerning this same question. Only place the coup affected seems to be BKK and that was really a "non-event" as others had call this coup. For several days after the coup, BKK closed down some stores and offices and traffic was light but thats about it. Everything back to normal now so enjoy.

1)AirAsia dont fly directly from BKK to Manila. You will need to actually book 2 flights from BKK on airasia to get to Manila.

There is plenty of info in these and the massage parlour pages about Eden. Have a scout around for those reports, some are very recent.

As for opeing hours it is 7 days but I think you will find it opens around 1pm and closes around midnight. The best time, many say mid afternoon.

Eden is definitely open seven days a week. The "best time" to visit can be a bit tricky. A lot of girls arrive between 12.30 p.m. and 12.45 p.m., but some will come in right up to 1.00 p.m.

This does present something of a dilemma to the first-time visitor. If you wait until 1.00 p.m. in hopes of seeing every single girl so you have the broadest possible choice, the one you want may be choosen by someone else before the first full line-up of the day. I'm not exaggerating - I've seen 14 ladies disappear from the line-up with 60 seconds around opening time. Some VIP members will come by as soon as Eden opens and ask for a lady by name, whether or not she's physically there at that moment.

My advice is to get there at 12.40 p.m. and if you see a lady you like, pick her right away and let her pick her partner. Don't worry about seeing the entire line-up. If things are happening too fast and furious around opening time, speak to the manager about coming back later when the lady you want will be available. Remember, you are under absolutely no pressure to select a lady. Anybody who claims otherwise is giving deliberate misinformation. Just say, "No thank you, I'll be back later," or "No thank you, not today." Edenpapa (Marc) has stated on many occasions that first-time visitors are welcome just to drop by for a drink and get an understaning of what the club is all about. What you can't do is sit for hours dawdling over a beer.

It's difficult - and may even be pointless - to try to recommend specific Eden ladies. The service is uniformly good from any Eden lady. There aren't any starfish or unenthusiastic performers at Eden. Which one you choose becomes a matter of personal preference. Trust your intuition or ask the manager's advice if you have special wishes. You can't go wrong in either case.

Hi Evil - I'm not knocking Eden or its girls (I've never been there), but the "procedure" is not my cup of Tom Yum. The idea of having to turn up at a certain window of opportunity (as you say, 12:40pm), and choosing within 60 seconds or missing out on your choice to several other frantic guys just doesn't appeal to me. Just a bit too rushed. To each his own, I guess.

My own preference is to chat and have a drink (or two) in a club with a girl (or two) ;), and see how the chemsitry is. If all is well, then I take them back to the suite to create my own Eden experience (and not limited to 90 minutes). Still, next chance I get, I'll try Eden and hopefully disconfirm my beliefs. (I doubt it, as I rarely go for a midday nookie unless it's a continuation of the night before).

There is an alternative. You can also take one or several ladies overnight, usually 10.p.m. to 6.00 a.m. the following morning. Nowadays I either take Eden ladies 24 hours or overnight rather than have sessions in the club. The OP was specifically asking about visiting Eden around opening time for an inhouse session.

But it is true you don't have the opportunity to "chat up" the ladies before you select one. You either go with intuition or trust a recommendation. The setup and concept at Eden are different from most venues in LOS. I understand and appreciate that some punters favor an entirely different approach that allows for more interaction with the lady before making a choice.

I was trying to offer tips to maximize the OP's chances of an enjoyable, rather than frustrating, first-time visit. In a sense, Eden is a bit of a victim of its own success. It has a strong and very loyal "return customer" base - guys who understand the Club and how it works - and they tend to snap up the most desirable ladies quickly. I'm visiting BKK at the end of October and I booked an Eden lady at the end of July to be sure I got my first choice.

But of course a lot of luck is involved. I've seen line-ups of 25 to 30 ladies not only at 1.00 p.m., but also at 8.00 p.m. and all hours in between. And the choice a first-time visitor gets can vary from day to day. One day I saw a full line-up at 1.00 p.m., the very next day less than 10 ladies at 1.00 p.m. Much also depends on how highly the individual punter values a two-lady session or wants to indulge in some of more exotic activities available at Eden.

For me, what's important is the skill some of the ladies have in English, plus the "surefire" service, as I often don't have a lot of time to hunt for freelancers/bar girls who may turn out to be starfish. Everyone has his own priority and it's great that BKK offers something for everyone.

I mean all those little sweethearts I see in my office, or swarming the streets at lunch hour, dressed in their cute office uniforms, short skirted with oh that white skin.

Over the years I had quite a number of interesting encounters. The sweet thing was and still is to turn a casual encounter – i.e. run into female in elevators, BTS etc.. – into a temp. second wife routine (or at least great afternoon sex).

Not saying that I am not visiting MP’s. It’s just that all those ‘innocent good girls’ are certainly willing and able.

Having been involved with "good girls" over the years, I can say that while they would kill you if you ever called them hookers, they do a better job of extracting money from you then most hookers. My experience is that P4P is much cheaper. A real Thai girlfriend can be very expensive very quickly. Just ask anyone that has ever walked through a shopping mall with a "good" thai girl. While they would not be caught dead asking money for sex, they expect you will cater to their every whim.

Truth be told, Marc and I should never have developed a friendship, but the total opposite happened. Marc and I grew to be friends. I went back to the club many times to chat with him and then we started to dine out and about around town, always a treat, for Marc is a Frenchman who knows and loves good food.

This week we got together and had a good chat about life, Eden, and of course, fine French food.

Can you remember that first time we met?!

The club was becoming so famous 5 - 6 years ago, that we had to make a choice. No way to have 50 guys in a so small place, so we just cut off the drinking part. Some guys don't even order one drink. Who cares? The beer is the same everywhere, not the ladies.

There still is a little misunderstanding about this rule. Everybody is welcome the first time to buy one drink and understand the concept, if the guy comes back then he knows why. A guy coming to enjoy ladies can have drinks before, during and after. If someone wants just to get drunk then he is for sure not in the right place.

Do you have any idea of how many shy guys come to Thailand? In the club it is easy for them to choose a girl when they are alone. If they see people watching them, they will go into themselves and never choose ladies. It is even worst when a couple is coming. You can not mix sex and a public place. If you do that, you will always have one side of your customers feeling bad. You cannot please everyone. You are either a brothel or a bar. You cannot be both. Our concept is to always have an empty bar area.

Can you run us by a small history of the Eden Club, when you first opened, whose vision it was, and any highlights or milestones along the way?

Very quickly, when I took it over it was already open since 2 years by two friends (French). It was just a regular bar, when they hired me 7 years ago as a manager, before making me partner a few months later by offering me some free shares. Then I used 8 years of experience as a customer in Bangkok's nightlife to make something a little bit different. A common dream, for many guys is to enjoy 2 ladies at the same time. Most of the time it will finish by one lady in the bed, the second one in the bathroom (or 2 meters away in the bed), then we change. To find the real ménage a 3 isn't so easy. Trust me, I know what I am talking about.

A lot of changes happened over time. I spent my time learning and changing and improving, up to the point where it has become to my idea difficult to improve much more.

Surely this is the most boring job in the world, sitting in a small, dark bar lobby, dealing with people of different nationality coming through your door every day?

You have no idea how many guys have told me that I have the best job in the world. Wrong! If I was drinking and playing the ladies for 12 hours a day, then it would be true. But I am not. On the other hand people coming worldwide you meet a lot of interesting guys, a (very) few stupids too.

Mister everybody, but we have been visited by : soccer stars, Formula 1 people, movie makers and so on... I cannot say names. You know that. We have some big boys from big business too! Many guys use the club for business too. "Marc, this is my boss or my customer - take care of him!" The same way when you send friends for food to Le Beaulieu, when a guy sends another guy to the club for fun he will not lose face either. Everyone is happy!

So in general, what is it like to run this club?

It is difficult, very difficult. If it was so easy you would have 20 or 30 other similar clubs in Bangkok but we still the only one. Everyone who tried to copy us went down. I don't have any problem with them. Some of them are even enjoying the club or sending close friends. Firstly, people never see me outside (except in restaurants). I am no longer a bar guy. Secondly, we are no competition for anyone. We are in a niche market.

What is the record number of girls a guy has taken upstairs, or out?

Inside the club, 20. An Irish guy! We still have the picture to be seen in the club. At this time we used the room with the 13 square metre bed!
Outside the club, 11. We used to call this guy The Doctor. He was spending 50 to 100,000 baht at least a day throughout Bangkok making everybody believe that he was very rich. That day 3 Mercedes Benzes from a famous Bangkok hotel came to pick up the ladies in front of the club. It came out later that this guy was just spending his life savings.

I am not feeling guilty at all. 5 - 6 years ago an American guy who came quite a few times told me that he loved the club, comparing it to a very famous American fast food joint. You know exactly what you pay and you know exactly what you get. You come, you choose, you enjoy.

There must have been some funny stories of comings and goings over the years. Without naming anyone or giving too much away, what stories spring to mind.

Like better to talk about an outside story. One of our regular talking with his friend who was in his car was explaining his situation in the club with most details, not knowing that he was listened by everybody (wife and kids) in the car (Bluetooth system).

At one time the club had a website but that got taken down. Why was that?

I shut it down myself. It was at the time of the APEC meeting. Someone close to me in an influential position advised me that it would be a good idea to shut it down.

Umm, in Bangkok, no more. In Pattaya, there will be a website run by John, Eden Club Bangkok's former webmaster who will become Eden Club Pattaya's manager too

I have heard the term Pattaya disease mentioned in the UK for guys who are addicted to Pattaya, who sit in the UK dreaming of their next trip to Fun City. Do you think there are guys with Eden Club disease? I mean there are a number of readers who have told me that they cannot get enough of the place, and that they book in advance before even arriving in the country.

We have lot of regulars and lot of people booking in advance. Even some guys buying the VIP membership before coming.

What does a VIP card get a customer?

Basically it is a bit more expensive than for regular customer, which is opposite to most places, but the member is sure to get the ladies he wants. A VIP's booking supersedes the booking of someone who is not a VIP. Instead of 1,800 for a lady the guy will pay 2,000 for the lady. 15% discount off drinks too but since we are not a bar it is not really a big thing. The main thing is that it gives first choice on the ladies. Now we have a lot of regulars who also have their own regular ladies so VIP cards work well for them.

How many girls do you have?

We did open with 6 ladies and right now around 40, meaning around 30 and over present a day.

You have a new Pattaya operation about to open shortly. Will it be different to the Bangkok operation or will it simply be a new version of your club transplanted down there?

Exactly the same thing in Pattaya. Same concept, same prices. Everyone is asking me about when it will open (around beginning of December) and they get disappointed when I tell them that it is after they have been in town. Many guys want to be in the first 50 customers!

The club has a money back guarantee where any guy who is not satisfied can request his money back. Does that happen often?

It is not even money back because people don't pay until after so if you find a good reason then you do not have to pay. It did happen but not often. Maybe one time every few months, not often at all. The last time it happened was when the guy took two ladies, the ladies did the lesbian thing and one of them tried to get the guy (still with his clothes on) involved and he got nervous and they asked him jokingly if he was gay and then the guy went a bit crazy and came downstairs. I cancelled the session and he left without paying.

What about sexually transmitted diseases?

Each week there is a test for STDs. Each month there is a blood test for HIV and syphilis. This is a proper check, made by a ISO 9001 laboratory, nominative and computerized check, not a hand written piece of paper. This is the real thing.

Each 4 or 5 months we test for drugs. We've got proper kits for the girls to be checked for drugs. I have had some ladies who wanted to be hired but were HIV+ already. Quite a few. Any lady doing anything (except oral) without a condom is fired on the spot. No pity. They even put condoms on the dildos. When you change lady you change of condom too.
There is no way to do it safer.

I have just been hospitalized and got a heart bypass. I need to take it more easy. That's why I put a manager in the club and I have taught him everything. Let's say that now I am more a kind of supervisor, and it will be the same for Pattaya.

Do you think the club can succeed without you? You are an integral part of the business.

I tried to let it go but it didn't work. Now I oblige myself with 2 days in Bangkok a week. In Pattaya, I will be there for 2 - 3 months a lot and then 2 days a week. I have other businesses to run too.

You love your food. What are your favourite places for food in Thailand?

Very good food too at Serge in Le Bouchon in Patpong. Marriot Hotel's buffet and for sure here (Le Beaulieu) and before Charlie's, which has sadly gone.
So the future you? What do you do these days with less time in the bars?
I take care of my other businesses and I take care of my family. I run an import / export business. We will have a car and motorbike website coming, and a latex (clothes) business starting soon, both being done with 2 different partners. I also have a wife and two adopted kids to take care of. That is enough to fill a life. Trust me!

To finish I would like to add: We are the only place in Asia where people can complain when they have finished, and not pay. If something was really wrong just let us know.

Having been involved with "good girls" over the years, I can say that while they would kill you if you ever called them hookers, they do a better job of extracting money from you then most hookers. My experience is that P4P is much cheaper. A real Thai girlfriend can be very expensive very quickly. Just ask anyone that has ever walked through a shopping mall with a "good" thai girl. While they would not be caught dead asking money for sex, they expect you will cater to their every whim.

This is a gross generalization and quite wrong in my experience.

I think the very term hooker is probably too broad. I met 'good girl's who do it for money alone, still enjoying it and I met others, who just like the adventure.

In fact a common misconception is that Thailand visitors think that they only can go with 'hookers', where for most 'good girls', to engage in a sexual adventure, the idea is best served by meeting a tourist in a decent hotel.

I found that 'good girls' love a good sexual adventure. I would even go so far to state that most ‘good girls’ are quite curious about foreigners and in their own playful way like to explore their sexuality. I just did a quick in and out from the new airport. The meter reading from the new airport to the Grand Hyatt Erawan was about 200 baht both times. Add to that 65 baht for tolls. From the airport I think they add on an extra 50 baht or so. All in all figure 300-400 baht depending on exactly where you go.

No problems with the new airport coming or going. The trip in was midnight and the trip out was a 1pm on Saturday. Both times it was only about 35 minutes.

As for the airport itself, it is a big mother. The only problem was baggage. For some reason my flight wasn't on either the big board or even on the sign at the conveyor. It was about a 20 minute wait for the bags to show up.

The major design flaw appears to be the area outside of customs is just too small. You pop out into a sea of people. Not a good place to find someone. Basically if you are being met, tell her to call you with the exit door she is standing by. And pick one away from the crowd.

I know that you are just addressing the issue as it relates to this specific question (re: Nana etc.) and I know, Mr. D., you've had lots of success with P4P girls because of the points you outline here. But, the issue is far more complex, deep-rooted, long-standing and yes, ultimately racist (don't shoot the messenger). Thais, I mean the society in general do not like Indians. I've heard this long and loud from Thais since I got here. In fact to be blunt, I've had students declare (almost viciously) that they hate "Kaek". So, I would assume that this general feeling is pervasive throughout the culture right down to the girls from Isaan in P4P. It doesn't seem to extend to Thai-Indians quite as much. But, it's still there. I have noticed that my Thai-Indian students tend to stick to their own and are rarely included in the group with Thai students. This dislike goes back a long way. I'd rather not go into more details as to what I've been told by Thais because it's somewhat distasteful. Anyway, it's ironic given that a good portion of their religion is based in Hinduism. Having said that, the point of them being racist has very little to do with the history but more to do with the attitudes of current day Indian visitors/tourists. If that were the case, the Indian names in the Thai society would have long disappeared. Even the King has a Hindu name, even though the Thai society is Buddhist. The new airport name is an Indian, Hindi name. Suvarna - Golden, Bhumi - Land.

The rejection of the Indians is based primarily on the attitudes of the low class Indians visiting LOS. The airfare going from north India to the South is more than the airfare between India and Thailand. So you have a bunch of uneducated, illiterate Indians going over to a Land where sex is available plenty. Having come from a sexually oppressive place, they are in Disneyland. Having little or no money to spend, they represent the worst of all.

I have had only one experience of being rejected blatantly and that was in a go-go bar in Pattaya. My experience has been that if you show your good class, generosity and respect you get the back.

How could an Indian overcome discrimination and yet get what he wants?

The Indian could bring along a non-Indian friend to the club, point out to his non-Indian friend which girl/s he fancies. Having ascertained that, he hastens back to his Hotel room, draws the curtains, shuts off all the lights and lies naked and still under the bed or stands inside the wardrobe.

Waits till his non-Indian friend arrives with the chosen girl. After having performed some preliminaries on the girl in bed, the non-Indian friend then excuses himself and pretends that he needs to go to the toilet but actually leaves the room.

Yes. This isn't the forum for it. But, just to re-iterate briefly as you've mentioned yourself, there are lots of indian influences in Thai culture that come both from India and Cambodia, as well, because the Khmer were initially Hindu and had a considerable influence on Thai culture and religion. The Thais actually copied considerable amounts of their current cultural traditions from the Khmer. The form of Buddhism here, Theravada is a hybrid of Zen Buddhism and Hinduism containing many Hindu dieties.

The bottom line is the Thais are incredibly ignorant of their own history and origins and have bought into the myth of never being colonized and being one of the few homogeneous cultures in Asia. Both of these concepts are rubbish. The Thais have been culturally and economically colonized since the 9th century and their bloodline is as mixed as anywhere else, with Indian, Malay, Chinese, Khmer, Lao, Burmese etc. blood flowing throughout most of the population, which accounts for the incredible beauty of the women, IMHO.

I will also say that Thai-Indian women are for the most part quite stunning looking. Too bad that they are inexcessible to all but others in their own community.

Perhaps I was thinking of HiSo Thai-Indian girls. I've had several as students and know you couldn't get near them with a barge pole. The ones I know who have Farang BFs have Young Farang BFs in their own age-group, not old geezers like me.

Whatever the reason, they are and I can tell you this from experience.
In fact I am writing an article and the title is 'Bangkok - Land of smiles, only if you are cauasian'.
I am not from India and I am curently a lecturer at a university in the USA. I am sometimes mistaken for Indian and Middle Eastern.
But from the 5 years that I spent in BKK I faced racism more so than I did living in Canada or the USA.
Not only are they racists but edcuation level or lack of it is stunning. Many and I do mean many don't even know that Buddihsm was started in India 500 years before Christ by an Indian prince.
Ask them and they tell you that it came from China. Yes I know that there are several sects but the origin was from India.
Yet they are devout Buddists that have a hatred for Indians, go figure.
Anyway, if you want to debate it, I can give you the stories.
While I won't debate your assertion, I will say from my experience of traveling pretty much all of SE Asia, Japan, Korea, China, Australia, UK, Northern and Eastern Europe, the same can be said of many people in any of those countries.

Cerainly amusing, and with a thread of truth in it. However, I'd hasten to add this is generally considered applicable to Thai *Bar*Girls, and even then, (IMHO) a minority of them.

Most of the TGs I see more than once, don't even have email. And very few of the "nice" Thais I know have access to the Internet at all - they work long hours 6 days a week, and have no time for such tom-foolery. Hell, I know a few very nice ladies that can't even afford mobile phones....

Asians (including Thais) are just as "racist" as any other Country and more so than some Country's typical citizens.
Racism exists everywhere in varying degrees. I don't want to get into definitions, however some styles of people get categorized in some way, e.g. middle eastern people have reputation for strong body odour unacceptable to Thais, certain countries have reputation for being stingy including India, Australians (I am one) had a reputation of being dirty, sloppy, cheats, drunks etc. Germans were considered black-hearted, Vietnamese were considered very rude and disrespectful, Chinese foul spitters etc.
I don't have a problem with any race although bad body odour makes me feel queezy and want to feint.

Look any time someones has a different culture, behaviour, appearance, or smell to the norm, there will people who generalise and say they don't like that type of people. Its unfortunate because there is always considerable variation from the stereotypes.
Us mongers can be biased too.
I only like girls with a gap between their legs, waist to hip ratio of 0.7 or better, apple shaped bums, narrow face, and georgeous cute nose,that smell nice and are very clean, and quitely spoken.
A fantastic girl with ordinary looks might never get a chance with me.

If a monger, finds discrimination against himself, then I can only suggest to do your best not to look like or fit the stereo-type.

After working in asia for the last 10+ years i can say that almost all of asia suffers from this - assuming you mean that different races or skin colours are stereotyped. The Thai (and for that matter Japanese) tend to be a bit more superior – basically because they were never colonised by a european country – but on the other hand they tend to be much more polite that any white guys and folks from most other parts of Asia – so its all a package.
Being a Brit i sometimes tend to get grouped into the lager lout classification in Thailand, much to my annoyance – so i suppose i get discriminated if i dress down and drink a few too many lager's – but this is based on the fact my fellow country men have been causing trouble in this country for quiet a while – so the Thai's have learnt to be cautious.
And finally – if you think its bad in Thailand – come up to Tokyo some time. 99% of the best sex bars are totally closed off to any foreigner (white, brown or black) because they consider us all barbarians. (and in my case they may be right)

When it comes to sex destinations, I think it is best to somewhat categorize the destination first, to draw conclusion about it's visitors.

Fact is that Thailand is one of the cheapest places to go to/live while having a lot of fun, being generally surrounded by nice people.

So it just happens that a lot of cheap charlies are attracted to Thailand, where Thailand maybe just about affordable from their point of view.

So many of the Indians we see are in fact on a min-budget. Most of them are quite industrious though and do take every opportunity to bargain, negotiate whatever value proposition comes their way.

Nothing wrong with that. It's just that even in Thailand, sex has a min. price attached to it.

I love Beer Laos & the people walking by are always amusing. Report on my recent trip to BKK Soi 33.
I arrived on the 3rd September and got dropped of by the bus at bottom of soi33.
I was too tight to pay the 650 bt they wanted at Airport, but I now know that get meter taxi outside and cost is about 200 bt.
On arrival At Livingstone’s went to check in, and guess what? They have no record of me. It turns out, that on conformation email they had asked for CC details. I don’t know why, but when I read email, I did not relate CC to Credit Card and just skipped over that part of email. Anyway they had room available and I was checked in.
Before arriving I had asked if I could have the offer of 5 nights for the price of 4 even though it would be a split stay. I would be returning on the 25th Sept for the 5th night.

Went out immediately and went for walk up and down Soi33. Did not appear very lively to me and ended up at bar on corner of “suck and spit” and Soi22.
Played pool and had a few beers.
Later on walked up Soi22 and had a massage, as no sex for a little while the girl had no problem getting me vertical. i started my first trip to bkk from washington dc dulles airport at 12:20 p.m. on monday, 10/16/06. my first newbie mistake was to exchange $100 usd for thai baht at the us airport. the rate was less than 32 baht/$, while i was later able to get over 37/$ in bkk. i arrived at the new airport in bkk at about 11:00 pm on tuesday 10/17/06 after a grueling 24 hour transit via tokyo. cost: $1,008 with taxes and fees – a bargain. passage through the new bkk airport was very quick, efficient and easy. no horror stories to tell. immigration took less than a minute; baggage claim about 15 minutes; and customs no time at all since i had nothing to declare. i politely with good cheer and smiles all around avoided the dozens of taxi touts just outside customs who wanted 900 baht (and would not bargain) to sukhumvit 33, and quickly found a metered taxi outside departures one floor down. a pleasant girl at the table took my hotel address and wrote in on a slip in thai for the driver. total cost, including toll and 50 baht tip came to 450 baht for less than a ½ hr. drive. there was very little traffic on the expressway.

i checked in to livingstone’s lodge just after midnight, extremely tired. nothing much going on at that hour, though there were about a dozen or so pretty girls sitting around at tables near the lodge entrance. i got a pleasant greeting by guido at the front desk along with a free drink from the bar. by the time i showered and shaved, it was after 1 a.m., nothing was happening at the hotel and all the bars were closed. i decided to take a walk down to sukhumvit and look for some action, but it started to rain heavily, so i went to bed instead and slept for about 11 hours. the sleep was very much needed.

went down for breakfast the next day at about 1 p.m. and again, nothing was happening at the hotel, as it seemed that perhaps i was the only guest. i had a great breakfast outside by the pool of bacon and eggs included in the room charge. i have one of the cheaper rooms at 1800++ baht/night with a view out the window of a drab grey concrete wall. guess i’ll be keeping the shade closed as there is nothing to see outside. the room is very small, but also very clean with all of the proper amenities, including a mini-bar, good air conditioning, a room safe, small desk, cable tv with programs in english, and refrigerator. i’ll get one night free after staying four nights with giotto’s promotion policy – a good deal all things considered – and then it’s on to pattaya for another week or more of mongering. i might come back to the lodge for a few more nights before heading back home.

it was very hot and humid outside during breakfast, and then it started raining again. quite a dismal holiday so far. in a light rain, i walked down the soi toward the emporium; entered a tiny pharmacy asking for some generic cialis, and purchased 4 10mg apcalis tablets for 1000 baht (about 200b more than i thought they would be) for my expected afternoon and evenings activities. the soi is narrow, crowded with food stalls, traffic, people, and many dangerous holes and other treacherous defects in the pavement. i had to consciously watch my step in order to avoid all the deep mud puddles and the possibility stumbling hard to the concrete. the air is slightly rancid with pollution, and there is a palpable stink about the place that i’ll just have to get used to. just the sort of exotic atmosphere for the kind of vacation i came for.

10/19: I enjoyed another great dinner at Basilico Italian restaurant right across the street from the hotel, after which, I decided to visit the Malibu massage parlor recommended by Mick Licker on this board last July. The place is located directly behind the Poseidon entertainment complex. I took the SkyTrain to the Asoke station, then the MRT subway to the Sutthison station, (cost = 48b round trip), and then walked the short distance to the Poseidon building. Unfortunately, I found the place to be not nearly as great as Mick described it. The lobby and rooms were large, clean, and well appointed. There were six old grandmothers on the left side of the fish bowl who appeared to come straight out from a hospital geriatric ward. I just arrived at the newAirport in Bangkok. I must say, I never made it so fast to town. The flight touched down at 4 pm and I was in Soi 18 at 4:55.

But, I am on ISG because of the reasons I stated and as evidenced by your response and the other comments, my remarks fostered an interesting discussion. So, my job is done here.

However, to clarify, I NEVER came to Thailand for girls or sex. Believe it or not, I knew very little if anything about any of that before I arrived. 10/21/06: (Last full day in BKK) Slept late and rested all day working on my laptop in the room. I agree with you about 99.9% of the girls at Ram, as I once taught there, lived beside it, and had some of my first expierences with non-P4P girls from the students there. Yes, I am coming in late to the discussion. I don't want to waste much time on this. My feeling is that nothing is gained when Senior members post condescending comments regarding newbie posts. It only inhibits other contributions. Your post was just the latest, so you are right in stating that you are not the first Senior member "bored" by the posts. I saw nothing wrong with Daddy07's posts, so I'm not sure why you decided to jump all over him.

When you say you find the posts boring, I have to wonder. What exactly are you expecting from these threads? They are threads for exchanging information. The last thing I am looking for is "entertainment" value when browsing through the posts. If I want entertaining conversation, there are other boards, friends, PM's, etc. for that purpose.

The reports of distinction may be weighted toward newbies, but if that helps to spur contributions, then there is a benefit. Why is it such a big deal who get's ROD recognition?

i agreed that his type of post has more relevance to many of the readers than perhaps something i might write.

i also admit that that a certain smugness often creeps into my posts, written as they are from the perspective of someone who actually can live the dream of a lot of posters here. i get pms from guys asking me how they can move here, get a job and live here with a decent enough lifestyle. the truth is, that most can't. i am very lucky, (and know it) that i am in a position to command a good salary as a professor, when many other teachers make a fraction of what i make. there just isn't the variety of good jobs available here for farang, that there obviously are in their home countries. so, most guys end up as visitors, perhaps longing for more, but at least wanting to live a fantasy that puts the dreary reality of their life back home on the back burner for awhile. posters like daddy live this fantasy and their stories serve a purpose of feeding the fantasies of others. i said as much to him in my last post. yes, they're boring to me. but, they aren't aimed at guys like me.

For outsiders or first time Thailand visitors, OTH or Retired Army’s posts are equally valid as first time Thailand impressions.

What their comments simply do, is to bring a sober tone to the P4P affair. As with all things Thailand nothing it quite straight forward. Things are never really what their seem. In a society where prostitution is officially illegal, where kissing in public is frowned upon, I can get laid within 5 minutes stepping out of my condo. The layers of contradiction are endless.

Yet, in all it’s weirdness this country produces some of the finest women. Proud, incredible sexy and sexually naturally gifted. But for most first time punters bar girls are the first contact. I would just point out (as a resident of less than a year), it doesn't really take a lot to interact with "real" Thais. The main thing is take an interest; learn about Thai language and culture. Even more than most in Asia, Thais seem to react positively to an earnest effort to learn about their culture.

I know some farangs that have "lived" here for much longer than I, and are virtually Thai-illiterate, not only in language, but culture. Shameful, IMHO.

I too, am very lucky in that my compensation is quite good by Thai standards, and I've been very forutnate to meet a very nice Thai lady, who is undemanding, sexy and an incredible sweetheart - "jai dii", as they say.

He explained to me that most Thai girls are sort of racists and they do not prefer South Asians or rather non-whites (except SE Asians). BTW I am Indian. But thereafter they allowed me without any hassles for the next few days that I went to the bar. But it definitely seems that most bars have an indifferent attitude to non-whites.

Is there any solution to this problem? Is it limited to BBK only or does it exist in the whole of LOS? Any suggestions will be good.

You may have a problem in NEP go go bars ("members only"). But freelancers generally don't care. You may want to try Gullivers on Soi 5 and Beer Garden on Soi 7 and Angels (Nana) Disco on Soi... Nana. One more thing - don't act like a typical low class Indian - bargaining the girls down to bare minimum or not wearing anti-perspirant. Be generous (without overpaying) and you will be rewarded. I realize that writing a statement like, "Thais hate Indians" may sound like a gross generalization and extremely harsh. But, I truly believe that this is absolutely the case. Anytime the subject has come up, I've seen normally placid Thais get into an apoplectic rage on the subject.

The increase in Thai Airways' cheap flights from India has only exacerbated the problem as those coming over tend to be the stereotype; extremely cheap, aggressive, pushy, badly dressed and rather 'odiferous', to say the least. These guys need a good wash.

Example:
I was waiting for a taxi at the foot of soi 7 on Friday last week and one pulled up and out jumped 5 of these type of Indians. An altercation ensued, that I gathered came from the fact that they wouldn't pay the driver, accusing him of rigging his meter. They all stormed off towards the Beer Garden, with the driver still yelling at them to give him money. Firstly, when I got in the taxi, it absolutely reeked. I almost gagged. The driver went on about 'Kaek men' (Indians smell bad) and that they were 'Ni sai mai dee' (bad characters) and 'khi neaow' (cheap)....all the cliches. But, unfortunately, there behaviour bore this out.

I've seen these type of Indians haggling in a loud and pushy manner with vendors on Sukhumvit over a measely 10 baht. They put the Isaraelis to shame and that's saying something given Israelis are the world champions at beating someone down over the price of something to the point that they've been banned in many places in contries like Nepal and even in Thailand.
To be fair, I've seen obviously rich Emiratiis haggling loudly, as well. But, that's not much of a defence as Thais lump Arabs and Indians together. They're all 'Kaek' as far as Thais are concerned.

I'm just relaying what I know, what I've been told and what I've seen first hand. The dislike for Indians, as I stated in the previous discussion is a long-standing one. But, these new visitors from the sub-continent are only making it worse, with their bad hygeine and bad behaviour.

Dancing course set up by Empower, because it's 'most useful to their work'

After 10 years of providing girls in Patpong with non-formal education and vocational programmes, Empower Foundation has decided to teach go-go dancing.

Empower founder Chantawipa Apisuk said several types of dancing courses such as ballroom dancing have been provided in other non-formal education centres.

But for the Bang Rak centre, the only dancing that was suitable and useful for students was the go-go style, which is what they do for work.

"We have provided development programmes for go-go dancers and sex workers for a long time and thought 'why not open such a dancing course' - if it is actually useful for those wanting to learn and who could put it to practical use in their careers," Chantawipa said.

The non-profit organisation has been linked with a non-formal education centre in Patpong since 1993. The education provided includes English and Japanese language lessons, plus computer courses.

The new go-go dancing course was launched at a bar on Patpong road last Sunday and was joined by more than 100 go-go dancers and sex workers from the local area, plus Empower members from across the country.

The syllabus for the go-go dancing course is in the process of being developed.

Chantawipa said that besides teaching young women to dance nicely, the course would aim at techniques for dancing safely and styles that are socially acceptable.

While there may be fears the new course would promote go-go dancing as a career, Chantawipa said the non-formal education centre opened only for workers in Patpong and they were mostly go-go dancers.

"We only want to make them be more professional, and also it is a matter of the state accepting them as workers," she said.

Empower has asked the non-formal education centre to provide certificates to those who pass the course.

Meanwhile, Chantawipa said Empower proposed that the interim government should consider boosting welfare protection and rights of sex workers and go-go dancers.

Politicians and state officials have claimed that night entertainment spots were places of crime and immorality.

Workers in these venues had become victims when politicians needed to "show off" or promote themselves.

But few politicians had sincerely considered the rights of the women workers.

Head of the Bang Rak non-formal education centre, Plernphit Shunnawan, said Empower should propose a syllabus for the go-go dancing course for the centre to approve first.

"If the course teaches the art of dance, dressing suitably and dancing safety that would be useful for the dancers. Then, we would have no problem approving the new course," she said.

Thechas Khonman, a freelance dancer who is the course instructor, said more than 20 go-go dancers had applied for the course.

He said the dancers could go through their careers without knowing any proper dance steps.

"Learning with us, they will learn how to dance beautifully with outstanding acting and movement, as well as how to dress suitably.

"The ways are different for each person," he said.

Go-go dancer Lek, 36, said she had danced for years without any technique, so she was keen to take the go-go course. She wished the centre could teach her proper dancing styles.

What upsetted me wasn't the fact that they cut in line. What surprised me was that one of the them started taunting and make fun of me after I spoke up against this. I have seen people who cut in line in other cultures and places and they have either "backed off" or "ignored me" when they understood what they did. I never had them taunt me as thought I was the one at fault, I am sure this does happen, it just hasn't happened to me yet in any other place or from any other ethnic group. I know some people might think keeping quiet is the way to go. However, I will speak up when I see injustice, whatever the consequences.

I have to say that I do not have any prejudices at all against anyone. However on my way back from Singapore at the new Suvarnabhumi airport in BKK I encountered some Indians that behaved very badly. We were waiting for the elevator when 4 Indians came and jumped right to the front of the line. When I said to them that we were waiting too one of the Indian started to taunt me. I have never seen this type of behavior anywhere in the world from anyother people so I guess I have to agree with you.These types can be from any part of the world. They have to be put in their place. These guys shut up and put up the minute law enforcement authorities show up. From what I hear there are several Indians with ill gotten money and connected to scoundrel politicians. They tend to believe that they can buy their way out of any trouble they get into.
They deserve to be taught a lesson.

Well Fellas,
LittleBigMan finally made his retirement date and arrived after midnight in the Nana area. After arriving in the new airport, boy it is a long walk from the gate to the immigration booths. The luggage area is right on the other side of the booths. Had no problem getting my luggage but there were no luggage carts around had to wait 10 minutes to find one. Other problem was LBM had two big boxes that I knew I was going to be stopped and searched. Why because I was pissed at myself for bringing so much. Everyone was already looking at me so why wouldn't custom. Sure enough by the time I found a cart started out I got stop! I sugguested to the guy lets open it up but I had strapped it so tight that we all was having problems. After a small conversation I pulled out a picture of my wife and son and said everything for family. The guy looked at me and pretty much said get the fuck out of here! I slowly gather my items and left. If they saw the shit I was bringing in I surely would had to pay! Who the hell would bring shit like this and not sell it!

Will, exchange some money and took the lift downstairs to the taxi line. No line was given a 50 Baht slip and off we went. The driver turn the meter on and said no need for toll and in 20 minutes we were at the Nana. Whatever way he came we came down Sukhumvit and make a right into Nana Soi 4.

Check in and threw the down the boxes and off downstair to eat and watch the girls come out from the Disco. Nothing worth taking so after eating decide to walk outside. Across from the parking lot near the food stall, the lady that has the wagon roasting beef and chicken. I was noticing 2 girls maybe in their 30's waiting for their food, I struck up a conversation about the food and offer to pay if I can have a taste. Yes. Perhaps I should provide some context. This included a quite nice dinner for the 3 of us (I wanted a nice dinner out). Breakfast. Lunch. Drinks at the Qbar after dinner. So. The 10k figure might seem high if you think this was just for regular services.

To balance things off. Today I went to Oriental MP Suk 24. 2 hour oily 900 baht with FS at established 1500 baht rate (even though it wasn't worth it). So. Just to let you all know it isn't throw money in the face of the local ladies. I just had one terrific night with a couple of very nice ladies and spoiled myself and them a bit. My rule though. Thats a pretty funny way of putting it PPC (it cracked me up). heh heh. Truth is, personally I really dislike Indians, but only in general (not sure if writing that made it any better, ha ha). My company has a branch in Bangladesh (yes I know, Bangladesh is not India), but I believe what Thais dislike is not Indian Indian, but the behaviour, attitude and "habits" of the darker skin race.

Even though I have only been to Bangladesh a couple times... the attitude is very similar with most Indians I have met across my life. Back in school, work, and leisure. Indians do not seem to have the best "habits".

Though that said, one of my best friends is an Indian (Thai Indian). And yes, he practice the culture of not exacting washing up. But he does whatever he can to mask any odor (and mind you, he does it quite well, it seems). I have never seen the fella shout and haggle over the small change, and he seem to understand the basics of courtesy.

Point is, fellow indian mongers, in general Indians really do give a bad impression to Tthais, but that does not mean ya gonna have a trashy time. Just take it easy, go into "holiday mode" and not be so "excited". Give everyone the respect you will give to, well your parents and you'll be fine.

1. There are louts, uncivilized, illiterate in every country which give a bad name to their fellow contrymen in foreign lands.

2. Resentment of Indians in Thai society is very limited according to my Indian friends living in Thailand. In fact, the resentment has eased much more in recent years according them.

3. Thais are being hypocritical because on one hand they have giveaway airfares to bring Indian tourists in and on the other hand turn up their noses once they are here.

4. It is a small amount of Indians who give the bad name.

5. Body odor has nothing to do with races. Try sitting next to an unwashed white person on a plane or bus and see if they are any different. It is only recently (in historical perspective) that the white folks started taking baths.

Indians by-and-large are great people and very gentle. Most white people would be surprised to know that they originally descended from northern Indian tribes.

However, body odor *is* related to race. White people are not sensitized to the "salty" odor of black people, so they can smell the difference. Similarly, black people can smell the "musky" odor of white people. The difference is, black people don't make a big deal about it.

Look to be fair. I am of Chinese background. And I can tell you, that the chinese (typical sterotyped mainland chinese) are pretty disliked in a lot of countries too. i think its more a case of which cultures are either used to, or more accepting, or even liking strong body odours.

the cultures with people who are oblivious to body odours of course are likely to have more people with body odours that are too strong for the extremely sensitive thai nose. and yet the thais seem to be able ignore the stench of rotting food in the street, foul drains or stinky canals presumably because they are used to it. size of glands under armpits is a very important factor also which may vary accross races (i am not expert here).

i know i must be super vigilant and shower several times per day with extreme attention to under arms and genitals, arse, mouth etc. as i know any feint odour will be ugly to a thai.
in my home country, less is adequate. i have special equipment for mouth including a tongue scraper.
also recommend lactacid for washing privates as the very weak lactic acid helps prevent fungal infection in sticky climate.

Only if you eat a Farang diet, especially dairy products. If you have been here awhile and eat Thai food all the time, and presumably have good hygeine, then you smell the same as Thais.

The point that needs to be stressed is that smell is particularly important to Thais. More an exception than the norm. It happens from time to time but not often (Thank God). Most WL in thailand are fairly honest about theft but unless you been with her before or know her from someone else then best be safe and lock everything up. Remember one of the rules of mongering is never leave anything that you cant afford to lose. Probably everybody has its own method and much is based on personal experience.

With my 1 week visit in Thailand I don’t qualify for a market research like assessment, but I have my opinion on that.

It is again about risk assessment and as I know that this can easily cause several discussions, I in advance say, that by all risk assessment there are always these exceptions where it does not fit – That’s why it is called risk assessment which deals with probability. And probability is never exactly 100% or 0%.

So how do I handle this:
My basic is that I would consider Thai Girls as a default honest.
So I am not in Paranoia to let everything disappear in front of them.
I just avoid proving them unnecessarily. So I will not staple huge amounts of cash or other easy to take valuables in front of them.
I will have most of my cash, credit cards, papers etc in the safe. Carry on will be the amount between lets say 2000 and 10000 baht + one credit card in case I need cash advance and an ID or copy ID. That should be enough and the maximum somebody could steal would be 10000 baht, most probably lets say only 5000, as it may not happen when I just filled the cash up.

In the room with a girl when it comes to remove clothes I will use the default trust and will not lock the money in the safe in front of the girl. But I will put my pants with the money in on the chair in a way that I can identify any disorder lets say after I returned from a shower alone (which is already bad if you have to shower alone). Other carried valuables like Mobile phone or watch I put openly on the desk any time visible. Larger valuables not fitting in the safe, I keep in the suitcase, which has 2 key locks and a number-lock, where I only use the number lock in the room.
In Livingstone’s where I staid, I kept my private computer visible and cable wired on the desk, things were stored on it as well. Somebody might not easy take it without appropriate noise.
The business computer was in the Suitcase (I was on vacation, so only sometimes downloading company E-mail). Depending on the hotel I may not do that (I don’t stay in 500 baht hotels).

I have one rule, that only I operate my purse. I would never ask a girl to take money out of my purse, however convenient the situation is. So I can’t understand why some of you guys put that risk/ uncertainty to let the girl handle your purse.
I would not expect that a girl would really clean your room from all valuables, that is too much paranoia for Thailand and I have a light sleep anyhow where I would expect to get awake from such noise.

So that are the basic precautions I do with my valuables, but there is another one important: Risk assessment. It can be expected that the rock bottom cheep charley mongers are in higher danger in a cheep hotel then the ‘normal’ mongers who look more for quality.

All depends on the girl, which you should judge. I consider Go-Go Girls more save then freelancers, as they have a job easy to spot again. A girl with whom you exchanged your Phone number before will also be less risky then others. The freelancers you (at least I) usually talk a long time to get to know her (I didn’t pick from Nana parking lot yet). I would be on a higher alert in Patpong then Nana, Sukhumvit area based on RTFF.

I don't have a vendetta against Brits, per se, as it is my heritage, if not my birthplace, as well (so, Terry Terrier don't flame me). But, increasingly, there are more and more of these types coming here for a [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140)-up and a bash-up. There was some altercation involving some Brits on Friday night at the soi 23 end of Cowboy as I was walking home around midnight. As I mentioned in another thread, I've witnessed at least one fight if not more involving yobs from England every time I've been to Pattaya in the last couple of years.

Even sober, these guys have violent tendencies. I was having a leg massage at one of those hair salons near soi 4 and a load of them came in for haircuts and what-have-you and were really upsetting the girls by their loud, rude behaviour, not to mention that they were grabbing the girls. The boss of the salon yelled at them "sao wow, sao wow" which is Isaan dialect for 'shut up'. They shouted, "what the fuck does that mean?" And me being me, said, "She told you to shut up!" So, needless-to-say, he stood up and came over to me in a rather threatening manner. He probably would have bashed me one except that at that moment a load of Thai motorcycle drivers appeared out of nowhere (I guess one of the girls fetched them), and one them shouted at these guys, "You leave, now!" If drunk, I'm sure these guys would have tried it on with the Thai guys. But, they were at least smart enough to realize that they would get the shit kicked out of them, if they didn't leave.

Sadly, this is becoming all to common these days.

Only input on this is that cheap charlies are not at all bigger or less risk because gals can determine right off how much a guys carrying just by their surrounding. So entering a cheap hotel vs an expensive hotel-- the FL (quality or not have nothing to do with it as never tell a book just by the cover) may not roll on cheap charlie cause not worth it but may do so if shes suddenly at the Marriott.
Yes, common sense goes a long way anywhere and not just in LOS.
Remember, hide and lock up everything regardless shes from go-go, bar or FL and only leave out what you could afford to lose.

Okay guys, this was my sixth trip to BKK but first field report. My arrival was half hour early at 11pm on UAL. They gave me a couple of other numbers to call and actually the operator was able to track my taxi down because no other taxi went to Soi 19 regardless of company. The taxi driver was very honest and turned in the wallet with six hundred dollars in it. It took two hours but the driver finally came back with everything intact. I gave him two hundred baht to give to the operator and a four thousand baht tip for returning my wallet. I joked he could have kept it but he said that is not in his nature and he said I gave him a two hundred baht tip on my initial ride. It actually wasn't a two hundred baht tip because he paid for the tolls while I was on the phone and didn't ask for it when he dropped me off. I like to reward good service and I guess I got lucky and karma with it this time.

Thanked the driver again profusely and me and my buddy were on our way. He already had a foursome from some girls at thermae earlier in the evening but was anxious to go. Yes, he had a four way! Great story HT. Very classy move to give the driver such a nice reward. I also found the Thai's to be a very honest lot. Many times I would over pay for very small things (ie. give them 10 baht for a 5 baht snack and walk away not realizing that I had change) and the vendor would come after me to get me my change. It would be so easy for them to pocket it...

I also remember seeing a vendor chasing a young farang lady through the market with her passport/money belt that she had left at his stall when buying some item. I also remember seeing her snatch it back without so much as a thank you. Good to give a gift in such cases so that the next guy gets the same treatment.

I hate to post without a lot of details, but this may be as much as I can provide given my other time constraints. First I'd like to comment on Horntoad's taxi experience. In Manila I also accidentally dropped/left my cell phone in a taxi. A hotel staff member translated my reward text message and we sent the message to the phone over the internet. 3 hours later, a very young couple from Quezon City showed up at my hotel, an hour's drive away from them, in the rain. After having been away for a while I explored out the scenery around Nana and I was happy to see that all was in order. Except Zoi Zero which just a pile of ruble now. (It always was actually). Anyway, they have opened up a very similar venue with pool tables and girlie bars on the opposite side of the road.

Police questioned Mrs Samniang Maneechan, 35, the head room maid of the hotel, and she stated that the two Indians had been paying for the room since October 19. They normally went out at noon, but on the date of the theft they didn’t. She thought it unusual and she therefore opened the room with the service key and found the two men. She then alerted the police.
After treatment Muthappa and Suresh said they had hired two Thai women approximately 25-30 years of age from Walking Street for 500 baht each for sex. In the room they drank beer but then couldn’t remember anything else until they had been transferred to the hospital. Later they said that the property inside their luggage was gone, including one gold necklace, three gold rings, one mobile phone, a digital camera, 8,000 baht, and 5,200 US dollars.
The officers followed up with the hotel and discovered that the hotel employees had made copies of the two women’s ID cards before allowing them to go with the Indians into the room. On my first visit to BKK, in 1997, I spent one week in BKK. I visited nana *****-joint and few bars. Not knowing my way around, I hired a tuk tuk
to take me to ¨lady house¨. I was taken to few places where I could not see
anything appealing! It was past mid-night, I had to take a plane back to my
country the following morning, I needed to find a ***** for the last time. The tuk tuk driver took me to a place I had no idea where it was. There were about five *****s, I picked one, paid the pimp for the whole night. When I got to the hotel I poured myself a shot of whiskey and went to take a shower. All I remember is getting on top of the *****. I woke up 3:00 am, the ***** was gone. My still camera and video camera were still there! The ***** did not take anything. I suppose she just did not want to keep her part of the deal!

I did not say anything the following morning, I felt embarrased!

Though not a rookie to Thai women, I am a rookie to the Thai adventure. I can say I am here now. It is party time. After reading so many of your post (good idea for all the new folks before asking dumb questions), i think I am mostly prepared. Luckily I also have friends here. I already have had one conquest, I will provide details later.

First visit to Bangkok, and I must begin with a huge thank you to everybody on this Forum. The information here is priceless. You just can’t find it anywhere else.

Example 1: arriving at the new Suvarnabhumi airport late at night knackered after 23 hours travel, I knew where to get a metered taxi into the city, and how much it should cost. (You avoid the touts, go downstairs from the arrivals hall, find the metered taxi lineup, get a chit from the taxi dispatchers sitting at marked tables, tell them your destination, they write it in Thai for the driver, give you a paper with the taxi number and driver’s name and a phone # to call should you not be satisfied with the service – you don’t get this in the US!)

Example 2: the Majestic Grande Hotel – ‘it rocks’ someone here reported – and after a long journey, it’s the place you hope to find. Upscale hotel, girl friendly, excellent facilities, comfortable rooms at about half the North American prices. A new place – even the Lonely Planet guide to Bangkok doesn’t list it yet – but courtesy of this Forum I’m situated right next to Annie’s and 300 meters from Nana Entertainment Plaza.

There’s a spa and massage service in the Majestic on the 7th floor (with a ‘happy ending’ someone here said), but it was closed by the time I checked in (midnight). So was Annies. I needed some relaxation, wanting to make full use of the time, so – example 3 – I called Sabai Sabai at 0-2253-4523, they spoke good English, quoted 600bt for 1 hour Thai massage, and sent the girl over within 15 minutes.

She was young and cute, called Pear, and indeed she was well named, perky breasts, tight body, very friendly and polite, gorgeous smile, and got down to work on me (clothed) doing a good massage. She actually got the kinks out of my muscles and crunched my back a few times, which was worth the price alone.

When she flipped me over, she did a nice ‘oooh!’ at my Western size, well practised no doubt, and then we talked about extras. And here – example 4 – I could negotiate the right price, thanks to you guys. She wanted 3000bt, at which I laughed quite genuinely, and within 5 minutes we were on our way for 1500 including the massage.

When it came time for the condom, she tried to put one of these tiny Thai things on me that barely covered the head, and so I produced my own brought from home (example 5), which was much more comfortable, and we finished in a few minutes with her on top doing a nice cowgirl.

A great way to arrive in Bangkok, and all thanks to Jackson, you guys, and the Forum.

i have done a lot of traveling to europe and latin america and recently had an opportunity to be in singapore. i found a cheap flight from singapore to bangkok on air asia ($29 sing one-way) and decided to go to what has been described as monger heaven. i did a lot of browsing on the forum before hand and sort of had an idea what i wanted to do. i decided to try livingstone’s since it seemed to be a good place for someone new to the bangkok scene. the reservation process was easy, just a couple of e-mails and i was set for a few days in bkk.

day one – the day started out pretty bad but finished strong. i missed a connection in la which was going to make me miss the flight i had scheduled to bkk. when i finally arrived in singapore i went over to air asia and the next flight was delayed by 3 hours. finally i got to the gate for the flight and noticed a pretty girl in the waiting area. i smiled and she smiled back. i didn’t think too much about it until she sat next to me on the plane (air asia is open seating so it was her choice). we started some small talk and i asked her what she did for a living. she replied that she was a working girl from thailand and had to return home for a few weeks. she said she worked at orchard towers at some bar that i never heard of. i remember reading some of the singapore forum about how the girls sort of rotated in from southeast asia and that it was good to catch one just entering the country. well, here i was sitting next to one that has just rotated out of the country. she was petite, nice body and nice face. her teeth needed some straightening but overall she wasn’t bad. her name was praew from buri-ram thailand. she was 27 (i saw her passport) and going to spend the night in bangkok with her sister before she took a bus home the next day. to make a long story short, i asked her if she wanted to stay with me for the night and she agreed. we got to the hotel, i met “the boss” giotto and he said that he would give me the rundown on bangkok the next day. praew and i went to the room to freshen up and to “relax”, we then went to dinner at livingstone’s. nice dinner around the pool great atmosphere. i took a quick peek in to the sports bar and it was jumping and made a note to hit that on the next night. i am not going to go into the details about my night but suffice it to say that she was a very nice girl with no restrictions. we had breakfast the next morning around the poor. the total damage was 1500 baht plus dinner. not a bad introduction to thailand.

day 2 – after my introduction with praew, things looked pretty good. on the agenda today was massage, touring around, soi cowboy and then the sports bar at livingstone’s. i got a pretty good introduction to bangkok frm a friend that took me around. he recommended a massage place and i had a great oil massage. the place was a therapeutic place, although a “happy finish” was offered and accepted. this was my first time for a massage like that and it was really incredible. i went to soi cowboy about 10:30 and it wasn’t too interesting to me. i went into one bar and the ladies were so aggressive that i walked out after 5 minutes. it is a nice walk back to livingstone’s from there. soi 33, was pretty active when i came back. i asked giotto about what was the story on these other bars and he gave me a pretty objective run down. he bought me a drink in the sports bar and i asked him for a rundown on some of the girls in the bar. i met a very nice girl named muk and we hit it off pretty well. i bought her a lady drink and bar fined her and we went back to my room. she started a massage and said that she would give me a shave. what a great idea, massage, shave and sex, it was the total package. great massage, great shave and all of the rest. what was really incredible is after we cleaned up, she started another soft massage, saying for me to go to sleep. if you have not had a great girl massaging you to sleep, do it, it was a fantastic experience and in my mind what is truly incredible about the women here. total damage was 2000 baht, plus bf plus ladies drink. well worth it.
