Thanks for the report. I am sure we have all forgotten the rules of Bubbaboy's pre-cabine checklist as the blood has drained from our brains in the presence of "sex on legs". I know I have. Discipline boys, Discipline! Remember the rules. Performance in the boite is normally an indication of what is to come.
At the top level Termas you definitely need to screen them before dragging them to the room. If you pay top level prices you need to get top level service everytime. 1 red flag is passable. 2 red flags you really need to look for someone else. 3 red flags and you still take her to the cabine? Well. Kind of get what you deserve, but we live and learn (hopefully).
The cheaper places are a bit different, at R$80-R$120 you can take a chance. At the cheaper places you can actually work on them by seeing them a couple of times if necessary. Sorry to do this guys, as my response to similar requests in the Spanish Forum, where I am well aquainted, would be RTFF, but there is so much info here that I am battling to work out my best options, so some help would be gratefully received. I am in Rio for the first time for 4 days from 22nd April (over Easter) and hope that someone can recommend the best two clubs to me (similar, if possible, to the Estarks in Spain?). Not the most expensive please, hoping for about R$250 per hour or so?. Or streets that I should not miss and also if there is any SW action near Copacabana.
Finally, while I have a hotel reservation, it does not seem to be a great option and so I was hoping that someone could recommend an apartment or similar, again near Copacabana.
Any other advice or tips would be really great.

Part of the hesitancy on my part was the lack of linguistic skills in selecting rather then being selected. The message I think I have received is that it is better to choose than be chosen as in the later, probability of a mechanical session is quite high since the chooser is probably a pro about to take advantage of the situation. This seems to be the case in the class 1 category places. Pity really as it sure did make it easier to have a session. But then there in lies the paradox, no work no play. Work must be done to interview as the price for not doing so is quite high. Given the limited space I did wonder how one can spend hours in the bar as there really is very limited things to do here. I think I might have felt a bit more rushed then I usually am. I hope to re-read your marvelous guide before hitting the circuit today and maybe have a Rio experience. Thank you for confirming that the flags were indeed real and not just my imagination. Part of the problem I have is that I am coming from areas where bar has been set a little above the mechanical stuff. Thus my expectations are accordingly and even more so here.

I have been to the Luoma Club several times and usually find a nice selection of ladies and enjoy my time there. Hopefully you will get more current price info, but on my last visit in 2008 I paid R$320 for 1 hour. This fee included the R$50 entrance plus the R$270 room with shower and lady fee. They do offer a lower cost 45 minute room without a shower option for about R$260. Beers to drink were an additional R$7 (I think). Enjoy Rio!

The trouble is the girls are sort of average right now. No real stunners. I wouldn't say they're better than some hits at lower-end places in Centro. Then again, for a quick trip, you'll do fine there. Definitely more skinny chicks there than at MC these days.

Well it turns out to be a Sunday and there was absolutely very little open. The weather outside sucked with rain coming off and on. Whats up with that?
According to Mr. Bubba this should have been a red flag right at the onset. But this hot 8. 5 was all over me with promises to CIM and CIA etc. Such langauge! Phew! Resistance was futile. CIA is a 98% a big bunch of BS. I've only actually gotten that opportunity about 2-5% of the time and never took it then. Now that I am conversational in Porto and use it, I realize the for mongering purposes the 'dumb gringo' act actually gets better services. I don't mind paying Zona Sul like prices as long as there is value there. MV30 definitely had better looking girls since the price increase. There was relatively less Brazilian guys there as well. I marked a few maybes that were already being groped and will return another night.
ON the subject of value. If the Zona Sul T's had stunning girls all the time it would be worth it. However the quality of girls is not that much better than Centro places, if at all. Hence for me there is little value there.

If you want to get a T girl to come over for free you must make her think she is special and she has a chance of a relationship with a person of better economic statue than her (this is not hard she is probably from a really poor area). Headed down to Centro tonight around 6. 45pm from Copa. Metro to Uruguaina (sp?) then a walk to the "dark side" of Pres. Vargas. Hit MV 30 first on reports of some new talent. Only maybe 1 really doable black chick who spent the 30 mins I was there talking to some brazilian dude. Lots of not good talent. Lots of dudes too, bad ratio. R$30 entrada down the tubes.

All of the info and ratings in the list are based on my experiences, in March 2011. Your experience of these casas might be totally different. In these casas the number of girls and the standard can change very quickly. Some casas might also close or move within a short period of time.
This list is meant to be a guide to help you to explore the Centro casas. It’s far from complete. I have only listed the casas that I have personally visited. I have rated using A, B and C. A being over average, B being average and C under average.
Cabin:
A= Clean cabin, big bed, new sheets, A/C and shower possibility.

Service:

My personal choices:
# When I want a quick and very cheap session:
Metro to Carioca. First I pass by Rua Carioca 59, then I continue to Rua Uruguaiana 24 and finally to Rua Buenos Aires 85. This casa-tour takes about 20 minutes. Then I make my choice where to session. Usually I end up in BA 85.
# When I want to have a bit more costly quality-sex with GFE in a nice room:
Metro to Carioca. I check out the casas in Av Rio Branco 156, 181 and 185.
Alternatively I head to Tijuca.
# When I want to dig for gems in the trash:
I go to VM. VM is the place where you can hit the jackpot. Some of the most beautiful GPs I’ve ever met have been working at VM. The percentage of beautiful girls in VM is very low. It’s a sport finding a gem at VM. It takes experience, patience, skill and a portion of good luck.
Go there around 5-6 PM. Do a search in all of the alleys. Stick your head inside ALL of the casas. I've been mongering SP for the past six years and am considering a trip back to Rio. I was never a fan of Help (now named Balcony Bar?) and preferred meeting a new friend at Cafe Atlantico or Mia Pataca outside of Help. Pricing for ST around midnight is R100 after a brief negotiation, or hold out for fractional-TLN past 2 am for as low as R150. If you go for 9's and the occasional 10, they will push you much higher. Some greenhorns have been paying R400 TLN, even R400 ST. Those jerks exist in FL scenes of every city though, coming in like hormonal sugar daddies and fucking up the market pricing. May I digress? I did see some Chinese guys in Copa at the Arena hotel in February. And Japanese walking down Siqueria Campos last June. And Chinese at Balcony. Sent a chill down my each time. I'm not against the races. I just dislike the males, ....and the crazed condition of the women's bushes. There is room to negotiate in the FL scene and you maybe be surprised how low it can go late at night. I've never tried that hard below R100, but see the potential.
Just came back from 10 days in Brazil. Most in Rio, but also 2 nights in Sao Paulo and 2 nights in Buzios. Like others have wrote, if you go to Buzios, take a girl with you. It is much easier.
The day we left Buzios was also the day I was to leave back to Lax but later in the night. So from Buzios, we took the bus to the airport which cost are$60. 00, then rented a locker to store our luggage. My locker cost are$12. 00 because I had to rent a large locker. The lockers are in both terminals located on the outside part of the terminals. We then took the bus to centro for are$8. 00 to have our last flings.

I met up with my buddy, did the usual walk upstairs to catch a cab. I did ask the pre-paid fares and they were asking for are$90. 00 which is quite high.
Our apt. Was located on the south end of Coppacabana and the fare was are$40. 00, less than half of the pre-paid cabs.
We had lunch, got settled into the apt. And waited until 15:30 to walk to m / see. The reports are correct, m / see is now closed on Sundays. We then headed for Luomo's.
Luomo's was okay, but didn't see any stunners like in the past but it didn't matter, I was so horny. Jordana was the pick. She isn't the prettiest girl there, but she has a great ass.
After making out for about a half an hour, time to go up. Plenty of kissing, BBBJ, and an overall good time.
Damage. Entrada are$35. 00 with discount for early arrival. Are$320. 00 for the girl, and are$18. 00 for three cokes. As you can see, it is getting pretty expensive.

Unlike years past, where the card was good for so many rides, this card is only good for the amount purchased. Basically you have to guess how much money you have left on the card before recharging.
With a special thanks to Voyajer1, who gave me direction to massagem tijuca, we got there with no problems. This place is located on the other side of Macarana stadium from the metro stop.
Out of the lineup, I picked Amanda. Boy, talk about alot of fun. I only took the are$50 half hour option but it was great. Everything was on the menu. We had so much fun together, she asked me to have drinks with her after work sometime. Unfortunately, not enough time with everything I wanted to do. In the first photo what you are seeing is an area on the second floor (where sex is permitted) with a small window overlooking the first floor (where sex is not permitted). The lighting is a lot more than you will find should you decide to go.
The second photo is one of maybe three small rooms in the middle of the second floor. There is a narrow hallway with two larger areas on each end and some semi-open areas throughout. the last reports i read by the world cup body were rep001hing on rio's progress for the upcoming world cup. they are way behind on everything. yes progress has been made by rio as far as safety etc, but they are still way behind on where they should be to becoming a world class city capable of holding 2 of the biggest international events.

Well, folks I finally made it to Rio, which is a good part. The bad part is that I have booked a nice suite in a sex hotel in Tijuca for 3 nights during some sort of no sex twilight zone. Scortshow / Karlamodels wouldn't take my calls over skype, while f*ing TIM wants CPF number, which I can't register be / see all TIM offices are closed. StarCris did send one chic from Copacabana but it cost almost same money in inflated taxi fees (feriada) as the deed! Centro looks totally abandoned during Thu / Fri so all the famed places (4x4) are close but closed (pun intended). Even Uomo is closed. I might as well go to church. Being stuck in a nice love hotel with a bunch of reais and no action in the sexual ground zero is the ultimate irony. I guess I'll actually go see the standard touristy stuff and than hope for better luck next week.

Same for the touts on Ho beach, most of them are gone but I told them why should I sit here and drink a beer at 7 reais when I can go next door for 3 reais. My guess: I think there will be some overgrown stadiums in Rio a couple of years after the Olympics (just like those after the PanAm). I think that the estate prices will fall or at least stop rising after 2016. I highly doubt that the favelas will be retaken. The gangs would be killed or chased of to another favela, in Zona Norte.

Let me try a prediction: in 4 years the stadiums are overgrown, the real-estate market has collapsed and Rio is back to normal.
The favelas are NOT run anymore by gangs as people found out how good life is without this scum and are cooperating with the law. The law will get again more lenient towards the girls and the girls will return to some places in Copa. (not nessesary to Balcony). Corruption will go on on a small scale. As usual. Tourists will come back after the value of the Real has dropped considerably. Not the Olympic tourist but the "normal" monger. Mongering will all the time continue in Centro an VM. Or Cidade de Meninas.
Let us see if I was right in 4 years.
For the meantime I will continue to monger here in Europe, Portugal, Spain, Ukraine and Germany.

I can just say this though. I walk to work and walk home on Nossa Senhora, every day. Except the days I take a taxi back from my gym up by the Othon Palace. And honestly, even at 9pm at night or 9. 30pm at night, that damn faixa azul lane has massively slowed down traffic. Probably 5 more minutes onto a 10 min cab ride. It drives me nuts. Any time I take a cab now in Copa, that lane seems to cause problems. I'm not sure why we have such a different impression of it, but that's mine.

I can just say this though. I walk to work and walk home on Nossa Senhora, every day. Except the days I take a taxi back from my gym up by the Othon Palace. And honestly, even at 9pm at night or 9. 30pm at night, that damn faixa azul lane has massively slowed down traffic. Probably 5 more minutes onto a 10 min cab ride. It drives me nuts. Another note one the buses: There are 20% less buses passing Copa now after the changes. Less buses means less traffic. One problem with the new category system of buses (BRS1 etc...) is that there are longer between the bus stops.
My waiter was a veteran of the place so I asked him how he likes the current situation. He told me that since Help closed and the dollar is so weak there are no more Gringos / tourists in Rio. As a result of that there are no more girls. The reason why there are no girls here at Meia Pataca is because there are no mongers buying their product.
He told me he misses the old days when the place was packed with mongers and putas and 30 or 40 putas were circling meia pataca looking for business.

The taxi driver I was just with in Copa said he likes it. It is only Monday. Friday from 6:00 AM. 9:00 PM. He said traffic seems to flow smoother especially with fewer buses. I think it will be like most things, it will take some time to get used to. Recently I witnessed the deliver of a fleet of open tourist buses like they have in Barcelona. Some time ago I told the powers that be in Rio that they should visit Barcelona where they do tourism better than almost anywhere else in the world. Of course Barcelona has dedicated bus lanes, consistent routes and you cannot even stop a taxi on the street only get on and off at taxi stops. My bet is that will be next. Not always, but sometimes Brazilians actually listen. I have a little more confidence than most that they will be ready for both the World Cup and the Olympics. However, I do agree that it will be as a result of some outside assistance. There definitely is a need here for Americans with business acumen who speak Portuguese. They have more than enough corrupt bureaucrats living off the government teat, so none of those need apply.

Arrived in Rio on Wednesday morning around 8:30. This was my first trip to Rio, and despite the persuasion by many to stay for a long time, I only booked for 4 days. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated! Rio is a surfers paradise! If you want to travel and surf you can do, but imo the best surf is in Rio, on the beaches of Barra and Recreio. There are several, very good surf schools as well, if you are looking for one ask around the kiosks at Praia de Pepe (Posto 2) and in Recreio at Praia de Pontal (just after Posto 11). I understand there is a leg of the world surf championships in Recreio, later this year.
I have been surfing for years at on this beach.
Just behind Pontal is a nice liittle bordello where you can shower and have an hour to relax! (esteticmen. Com. Br). You have a nice selection of girls and it is open during the day.

Actually they're looking quite good from the UK. Better and cheaper than they have been the last few years remarkably. Especially remarkable as the pound has sunk so much.
The fastest flight is still under12hrs non-stop from London. But there's remarkably little in it, and with more airlines doing a non-stop trip rather than abysmal changes in Paris or Portugal.
Glancing at June, BMI (British Midland International) have begun flights with TAM, starting at £676 return. Non-stop on the way out, and only a quick stop at Sao Paulo on the way back.
I had a look at the British Airways site as well. For long the most luxurious economy class way to travel from London to Rio non-stop. But now, although their prices seem to start at a fabulous £610 all inclusive return, it's a codeshare with Iberia and includes a stop at Madrid. Which adds about three hours and the extra hassle to the overall journey time. I think I saw some non-stop options that weren't codeshare for other dates - always worth scouting about.
As always, prices fluctuate wildly depending on time of year and day of the week, so scout around on a good flexible-dates comparison site (eg Kayak seems ok).

When I check the weekly loads sometimes I go straight to O Dia or Globo to see if something is going on in Brazil that is causing the mass movement. I think they are just taking advantage of the early low coach fares and buy them months in advance.
Now as for the mergers hurting competition, that's a regional issue, and I can only speak for United and Continental. United has absolutely NO PLANS to give up its Chicago or Washington Dulles routes to Brazil and Continental from Houston and Newark. Matter of fact we started using each others planes to better optimize the routes. Code sharing is an airline method to gain more routes and passengers in another country. United years ago applied for and got the LAX to GRU route which they used along with the MIA and JFK routes to get Varig to join the Star Alliance. Now those routes were given to TAM who is an alliance member also. When we are dealing with different countries and national carriers its easier to gain access by aligning together. UA or CO just cannot jump up tomorrow and fly to Brasilia or Bahia because they are US carriers. If the Brazilian Goverment approves the flights, then they will want the same number of US cities approved for TAM also. So with CO and UA keeping their routes, all other US carriers still will keep theirs also because they serve different communities and regions. US and Brazilian carriers will now have greater access and streamlined approval due to the Open Skies Agreement that Obama and Dilma just signed. So by World Cup and Olympics, US carriers will have more flights to different cities in Brazil, same thing for TAM in the US.

that was probably 1 month ago. and since then i've seen a lot of change in the "team" at other t's, both zona sul (mcs) and centro (502, 65). so i figured maybe i was due for a re-visit to l. if nothing, the cartman is an optimist. plus it was 8. 15pm and after working from 8. 30am-8pm i was not looking forward to a ride to centro, and mc seemed so, well, predictable.
it's kind of like when you really used to like a band, but lately, say the last 10 years, they keep putting out albums that just aren't that good. and you keep buying them because you remember how good they used to be, and you hope that maybe, just maybe, they'll nail it again. i'm looking at you, rush and the blow monkeys (and def leppard, honestly). that's how i feel lately about l'uomo. i met two awesome chicks there in oct / nov but since then it's been a bit dry.
anyway, rock up around 8. 30, shower, head to bar. really dead. like 4 guys and maybe 25 girls. girls are all sitting on the couches, half sleeping. no energy. see a w-h-o-are-e i know from there, smile, say hi, decide to be nice and buy her a drink. what do you want? she says "i don't know." i say, well, i'm having a water. so she orders an amaretto for r$18. dang. teach me to be nice. moving on. not much to look at, but i decide to wait it out and let the 1. 5 pills of v kick in. about 15 mins later a taller, white, short-haired blond girl comes in and looks me over a few times. then a shorter brunette, fit body also comes in and sits down. blondey "lana" comes over for a chat. we do the usual and she claims to be surprised by my portuguese skills. have a pleasant enough chat for a while. but i excuse myself to go talk to brunette. walk over a plop on the couch next to her. say "ola!" which gets a laugh from her friends. not sure why. try to make convo with her but she's just not interested, giving me nothing back. i'm like, ok, the cartman doesn't stay where he's not wanted.

L'Uomo needs to do a clean-out and replace the girls with more upbeat, hotter, better chicks. The girls are all very average, white / mulatta. I have been to 2A2 several times with both GDP's and non GDP's and the swing club in Barra Henry Club. I have always engaged with other couples in these clubs even though not every couple has wanted to engage with me.
I do a reach over to grab some tit and he slaps my hand away, this is common. Comparing cachaça is like comparing whisky. 51 and Pitú are the witch brew's. Ypióca's are quite good and drinkable, like Jack Daniels. You have several options of Ypióca, in the range cheap to very costly.

Went to Centro yesterday. Hit 502 and then 4x4.
As BubbaBoy texted me. 502 put their prices up: R$150 for 40 mins and R$190 for 1 hour. After purchasing an hour and handing over 3 50R$ notes and 2 20R$ notes, the receptionist asked me for R$10. I'm like, um, I know I gave you R$190. She's like, no no,"para mim. Caixinha." I laughed and said "After R$190, I'm a little broke."
Which only prompted her to lower her ask to R$5. 00. Really? I'm supposed to tip you for performing the classy service of accepting my money?

Had a solid session at 4x4 with a tall, lean, black older (well, she said 25) girl named "Fanny." She used to work at MCs she said and Balcony (think I've seen her there).4x4 pricing is still pretty reasaonable. Think it was R$50 entrada and maybe R$220 for an hour? Funniest part: I'm telling her about where I live in Copa, and she's like "I think I know that apartment." And she proceeds to describe it in some detail. The owner (whom I'm renting from while he's overseas) is something of a notorious safado. LOL. FYI bottles of Heineken at 4x4 are now R$9. 00, which I know will annoy some people. By the way, the general body type at 4x4 remains big-butt, slightly chub-chub. It's not ideal for the Cartman's tastes. And several of these types have moved over lately to 65.

General comment on the thread geography discussion: You only need to know geography if you want to go somewhere, right? Most Brasilians and for that matter, most Americans, don't have the spare cash to fund an overseas trip. Europeans seem better off in that respect, with money to travel. Anywhere I monger, except Costa Rica and Mexico, guys from Germany and the UK are there in force. A Carioca colleague told me that some sex tourist group from Germany actually rents commercial airliners and flies them to Rio. Nothing but mongers on the plane. So I take it that people in DE have a lot of money to travel, if it is possible to recruit planeloads of mongers, and knowledge of geography in DE would be pretty good. Rio is here, Angeles City is there, Pattaya is up here....haha :) Personally, I think anyone with local access to FKK and Partytreff is crazy to come to Rio given rising prices and the exchange rate of Reais to Euros, but to each their own...

Regarding the travelling and geography, I've had many times the impression that Americans tend to look at the world out there like one big scary place where strange people is hiding in bushes waiting to have a chance to do evil on them as they venture out of their "safe" country (which I think is just about one of the most unsafe places on earth BTW, due to "cultural" reasons, to the amount of firearms available, the amount of nutjobs around and so on).
It is true that Brits get around a lot, and if you lived in a place with similar climate I bet you'd want to get around too. Is also true tho, that most of all they do wherever they are is sitting in the local Irish pub getting smashed, LOL. Germans get around a lot. They have a good economy that allows them to do so and just like Brits have all the climatic motivation to hop on a plane looking for sunshine, they also seem to have a more genuine interest toward travelling and discovering the world.

I know people who don't travel overseas simply because they don't like being treated like a traitor by the TSA and scanned / searched like a criminal. So things like this will perpetuate the disinterest in travelling. I think when you wrote TSA (Transportation Security Administration) you actually mean ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement). I have never had any problems with immigration. Sure I have had to go put my bag through agriculture a couple of times, but nothing like I read from some people on the forum. I have never seen them interested in pornography as some people state. They might ask you power up your computer just to see the screen light up, but they don't go through files or anything. What they are actually looking for is drugs. The other two I can not remember but I always answer no to all 4. And the computer already knows what flight you came from so you just confirm it and it prints out your card to hand to the guy on the customs end as you are passing through. Only $100 for 5 years and you will save a lot of time and not have to worry about being questioned/harassed.

I have googled two places of this kind in Brasil: one is called Santa-Katarina or something, and another one is located very close to Rio. Could you provide me with some information about destinations of this kind: which place to choose, what about nightlife there, what about hotel prices, and of course what about garotas there?

With the real riding high and inflation making things even worse, I went to Buenos Aires with high hopes. The peso was 4 to 1, and prices weren't so bad, but the working girls were, on average, older and less attractive and the service was, on average, far less than what you find in Rio. I wanted Buenos Aires to be a good alternative to Rio so badly, I went twice within the past 3 years, but I ended up regretting going both times. There are a lot more options and available women in Rio than in Buenos Aires. But Rio is much more expensive, right now, but you get what you pay for. If money is not a problem, Rio is a no brainer. If money is a concern, you can calculate price versus quality, and what you value most.
You can also weigh different options in Rio. You can go to the "high-end termas", middle--range places or much cheaper low-end places in Rio, as has been documented in this forum. Service can be great at the high and low-end, and gems are to be found at the low-end, as well.
Given my calculations of value, I still prefer Rio. Brazilians are also much more friendly than the Argentines.

BCeoAfter more than a decade mongering in Rio, I replaced Rio with BA as my mongering destination of first choice. This is not a permanent decision and I may reverse it sometime in the future. But for right now, Rio has priced itself out of this monger's market.
If costs were the same, Rio would win hands down. It's much more of a fun city than BA. Cariocas are naturally friendly, whereas Argentinians seem to be a much more dour and reserved people. BA is much more of a cultural city, if you are into high culture. As far as mongering, sex is just as easy to get in either city, although the means of getting it is different. Termas don't exist in BA; the primary venue for finding chicas are privados, or private apartments. Like the termas, they vary in quality, some being very high end, others grungy and disgusting. But even the high end privados are dirt cheap compared to high end Rio termas. An hour with a quality chica in a high end privado will cost, at the most, AP250, or US$62. 50. The same in a high end Rio termas will cost you several times that. BA has several high end chica bars, similar to Rio's boites or boates. They are all ripoffs; stay away. And the poster who said that BA chicas are far below Rio's in quality doesn't know what he's talking about. Both cities have fine, beautiful chicas who provide excellent service. You may or may not be aware that Argentina is not one of the countries for which information is available on ISG. Argentine has its own forum, Argentina Private: http://www.argentinaprivate.com/. Check it out. It is much less well-organized than ISG. In fact, it's somewhat chaotic. But you should find a plethora of information there, including chica photos. BCeoI have always enjoyed my trips to both cities. Both have plenty of things to do see when not mongering. BA is definitely cheaper as far as value of US Dollar, food, taxis, and SEX. Rio has its beaches which are nice. July is winter in both cities, but it will be chillier in BA, especially in the evenings.
Overall, I have always found the girls in Rio to be more sexy and attractive, but I have met with hot girls in BA. If picking up street walkers interests you, I would say BA would be safer. As far as girl friendly hotels, I would give the edge to BA. Rio has its Termas which I really enjoy. BA has its privados or private apartments.

After more than a decade mongering in Rio, I replaced Rio with BA as my mongering destination of first choice. This is not a permanent decision and I may reverse it sometime in the future. But for right now, Rio has priced itself out of this monger's market.
If costs were the same, Rio would win hands down. It's much more of a fun city than BA. Cariocas are naturally friendly, whereas Argentinians seem to be a much more dour and reserved people. BA is much more of a cultural city, if you are into high culture. As far as mongering, sex is just as easy to get in either city, although the means of getting it is different. Termas don't exist in BA; the primary venue for finding chicas are privados, or private apartments. Like the termas, they vary in quality, some being very high end, others grungy and disgusting. But even the high end privados are dirt cheap compared to high end Rio termas. An hour with a quality chica in a high end privado will cost, at the most, AP250, or US$62. 50.
I was considering a diversion from Rio to BA several times. The pricing and availability of sex seemed great like you say. But what kind of sex? After RTFF at Argentina Private I got the perception that even WG's are more conservative there, and things like anal and CIM are not as easy to find, unless you have experience from previous trips, or a good local advisor. Same goes for Paraguay, I've considered it on the basis of recommendations from Ken Apples' posts here on ISG, but seems generally more conservative WGs than in Rio or SP. I hope that I am wrong.
Brasilian termas and casa girls seem to be there 50% for fun and 50% for the money. Sometimes they do stuff that I never even asked them to do. A well-interviewed girl from T502. The list goes on. Lodging charges are the real killer. Ibis Centro, just about the most boring out-of-the way GF hotel in town, isn't even cheap anymore. Just looking to get some advice from anyone that has been to both. A buddy and I are planning a trip for early July and are trying to get some advice one way or the other. BCeoAll of this might be a generalization, but appearance-wise you'll get more diversity in Rio. I had to struggle to find a BA working girl not of European descent although I wasn't looking all that hard.
Others have pointed out that Rio girls seem more passionate and eager. What I've found is that with proper technique (know the language, talk to the girl extensively to gauge chemistry, verify that she'll do what you want) , I got just as good a GFE from Argentinian girls as from Brazilian ones. I did have to work harder with the Argentinian ones, though.
I would like to thank everyone for their input on the question I asked regarding BA vs Rio. We are still on the fence but now leading towards Rio. Cost is not an issues and it seems as though that is the only thing BA has going for it over Rio. So in short I think we will follow the old saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Perhaps if you only had a weekend and you were a newbie, where, what would you recommend?
Also how to get around, is it safe walking, need a taxi from a to be, late at night places to avoid.
Anyone want a cool wing (good with normal chicks but only English and Spanish speaking)? Or could suggest a guide too, that would be great. Probably safer then going around alone.

In a nutshell, the deciding factor is money. If money is no object, choose Rio, if you don't mind going home with an empty wallet. Otherwise, take a more frugal trip to BA. Lorenzo I was even looking at going to BA for a visit couple years ago, but never did it. I even joined the Argentina forum here and did some research. I know "the Dollar" goes further in BA because we currently have an exchange rate of $1USD to $4. 1AP compared to the $1. 64BR. Some of my friends have even been venturing into Colombia and loving the quality down there.
Rio will always be my first choice, but definitely will explore more this year. I am finally planning my overdue trip to Asia this year, just trying to decide between Bangkok and Manila, but Manila got the edge due to the number of my co-workers who will be down there if I go. If the dollar stabilizes and at least get back to an exchange rate of $2+, it will be good again.

also how to get around, is it safe walking, need a taxi from a to be, late at night places to avoid. for a newbie who only has a weekend, hmmmm. i think money shouldn't be an object for a 2 day maiden voyage to rio. it would be hard to overspend in such a short time. so in that case, i'd recommend just hanging out at luomo, do a session or two early in the evening, try to arrange a hookup for after closing time, then go to balcony and find one of the local pushers (look for a brasilian guy that looks out of place, he'll interview girls for you with the expectation of getting a little tip like r5-10) to help hook you up with a girl that is not too-piranha, screw her at hotel lido or your place, then circle back to luomo for your girl. t502, 4x4, etc are in centro. i don't recommend them for a first timer on a short stay.
if you're worried about safety, take a taxi everywhere. i wander about all over the city in the middle of the night on foot and have never felt at all threatened except twice. first due to a small pack of feral dogs attacking at largo de são francisco de paula. since i couldn't out-run them, i turned and ran toward them, and they decided to turn and ran away. second time was at praça da bandeira outside vm at about 3 in the morning when i was being bothered by some really aggressive street beggars at the bus stop. then i woke a taxista and off i went in the cab, the favelados didn't feeling like pursuing me to the taxi stand. dress down and walk like you know where you are going, even if you're lost. i feel the real risk in rio is getting hit by a car, cause the drivers almost aim for the pedestrian. i was almost hit once in copa (muito obrigado to isg's acenva for grabbing my arm and keeping me from walking in front of some crazy ass brasileioro turning off ave atlantica at hi speed. 6/2010, pp almost rip) and another time at the blind curve of ave passos intersecting with rua da carioca where i came within less than a half-meter from death. woosh! that said, i felt my mortality and was very base the rest of that day. doing things i wouldn't normally do, and very appreciative of the opportunities there in rio for good food and good sex vs the alternatives, and of course celebrated by doing unwise things. enjoyed a dinner at marius leme, barebacked a puta, then got drunk and passed out in the hotel. made me think my chances of my being a withered old man, drooling in my oatmeal and thinking of these soft, slim, scented, painted, willing putas in my younger days is not very likely, unless i make damn sure that there is no possibility of any driver being in the vicinity of me when i'm crossing the street in rio. brasil drivers license = license to kill. ;)

For a weekend in Copa, you are a bit SOL. Monte Carlo is open on Saturday not Sunday this time of year, and I'd recommend it over L'Uomo for a first time visitor these days. If you have success with a girl at MC, you might get her to agree to meet you on Sunday (or go home with you Sat night after she gets off work). You can try L'Uomo on Sat as well as Sunday I believe. I think Solarium. R$20 taxi ride away in Jardim Botanico. Also is still open both Sat / Sun. I don't suggest Centaurus if you are put off by higher prices (R$400+ for 40 mins).

You should be perfectly safe walking around Copa during the day. At night, just feel safer and take a cab. Yes, Luomo for Sundays. Or Balcony. Or Barbarella if you are a rich guy. Not sure how comfortable you are with navigating public transit and the low-end side of things. If you are so inclined, or just want to earn your Rio stripes, take the Metro to São Cristóvão station and follow Sperto's map to VM. Cheap banging, down and dirty mongering. Almost always covered BJ and definitely CFS. Safest sex in Rio, despite the unsanitary conditions of the facilities. I think the only things taking CIM there are the cockroaches who clean the floors.
It's also possible to find Sunday action at Praça Mauá at the tables outside Bar Florida but 90% of it is totally undoable. If you see a tall blond. 30something probably chatting with her local friends at a table, yell 'Bella' and see if she turns around. I've screwed her 3 or 4 times and can say the girl is a real pervert and tries hard to be nasty. Which is why I've screwed her 3 or 4 times! Then Balcony. Then, retrieve your prearrnaged Luomo girl or whatever.
The only guidelines are is 'if a puta's mouth is moving, she is lying.' , never pay up front, if they are not providing what you want cut the session short and ask for an alternate, or kick the girl out the the room with R35 cab fare, and remember that the Brasil minimum wage is about R600 per MONTH so do sanity checks on what freelancers are asking for. So don't pay over half that for all night with a freelancer, no matter how good it seems. Or Oxum will curse you forever. :) Have fun!

After some months I came back to Rio. I visit Brasil 3 or 4 times per year but last time it was not possible to visit "a cidade maravilhosa", the wonderful city. I found it safer and more expensive. Police is present in Copacabana and Ipanema all the time but prices of everything have gone up sharply, also because Brazilian Real is stronger.
I decided to visit Monte Carlo in Copacabana, close to the beach. Time was 5:00 PM but no discount this time arriving before 7:00 PM. That practice is over, the recepcionist told me this time. I was directly to the second floor to see the girls and the team was very good. Just a few men and about 20 nice girls (from 5 to 9). After 15 minutes of watching the situation, saying kindly no to some approaching girls, I chose Heloa, a 19 years blond and tall girl. Perfect body, incredible "bumbum", small but beautiful tits. If you thinking of conquering Rio in one trip its not going to happen. The first trip with all the pretty young ladies is going to throw you off any plans either well intentioned or not. My best advice is DO NOT GO ADVENTURING YOUR FIRST TRIP. Pick a nice safe brand name hotel and selectively pick places from Bubbas and Spertos Guide that they themselves say are not that shady.
Until you get a feel of the culture its not safe for you to bring a GDP back to your room. Get you legs under you and the rest will flow. The more locals and Mongers you meet the more you will find the ebs and flows of rio. You will still have a great time and meet some chicks you may think you want to marry (don't Do it) Let the city come to you. You cant plan out a Picaso and you damn sure cant plan out Rio. 4x4 and Monte Carlo are going to throw you for a loop all by themselves as the sheer volume of sexy big bundas. That video does not even begin to illustrate the number of sexy Mulattas you will find.
