I went to Brazil early August for 2 weeks for the first time. First stop was Recife (for business). First night, I ate on Av. I walked over there (it's a self service deli type place with chairs and tables on the sidewallk) and asked for a beer and sat down. After a few minutes I noticed that there were some girls across the street iin groups of 2 or 3 - perhaps a total of 7 or 8. Also, a couple of girls came over to the cafe I was in. As I later found out, some girls come to the cafe to change clothes, put some make up on before heading out to Sampa. Also, as I found out later, many of the street girls end up in Sampla after 11 PM or so.

Once we got the hotel (around 11:30 PM or so), there was a problem at the front desk. The guy told me that I was in a single room (which my hosts had booked) and there was a $R75 charge for guests! I asked how much the upgrade to a double was and he said R$45. So, I asked him to upgrade me to a double for that one night (I'd be paying the extra). She signed in and got in the room. Funnily enough, a few days later (when I was paying for the room), the double room was only R$14 more. I could not figure that one out.
Patricia is 24 and really sweet with a very nice body. No kids. You might be able to get her for less if she comes during the day or on a night when she isn't scheduled to work and thus wouldn't have to pay a fine, or if she stays for less time. However, I was on a tight schedule and this was the only time I could fit her in. I also gave her US$20 for taxi fare back to Ilha de Governador--I think that's the right name, out near the airport--where she said she lives. Believe me, she was worth every penny, and to me she was a real bargain.

IMHO it sounds like you did ok, if you wanted to spend 4 hours with her in a cabine in the termas it might cost you double that at least, so you did good. If you are talking about a commodity, then you can pay too much. For me, when I meet a girl with whom I click, there is no such thing as paying too much. A lot of it depends on her economics.
