Am preparing for a trip to Brasil but I am unable to access the gpguia.net site which has been very useful in the past
Is it just me or are others also unable to accesss gpguia.net? I get a "Forbidden" page!
Are there good alternatives to gpguia.net for reviews?

I've searched the boards for a review of this club. The pictures on their website [http://www.bomboa.com.br] makes the club look nice, on par with Cafe Foto. Can anyone provide a first-person account?
And since I mentioned Cafe Foto -- I read they might relocate. Are they still open at the "old" spot at Av. Helio Pellegrino, 480? Their website says they are [http://www.cafephoto.com.br/english/index_br.asp] but my experience in Brazil is websites are sometimes not kept up-to-the-minute with current information.
I know I'm asking a lot but any advice from someone on Monday night hot spots in Sampa would be appreciated as well. I promise to report back and return the favor with a comprehensive report.

Lc, Bomboa is where I would go. You pay 190 as door fee but can use for drinks or food and they have a large menu selection. The girls are more gfe but they will try to get you to go to hotel next door where it's R100 and hour and whatever you negotiate with the girl. Usually 200-300. So your gonna be out of R600 to hang out and bang a girl for an hour.
Cafe Photo I don't know if they relocated but I was just there last week at the original location. You pay 190 as door fee and get 4 drink vouchers. I was disappointed with the selection of girls and didn't take anyone back. Most start out asking $R500. You will find alot of english speaking girls since they are there to cater to the gringos since photo is a "tourist trap. "

There is some sort of lock on it that blocks view from IP addresses that originate from outside of Brazil. I have heard of ways around it but so far I don't know what they are. Perhaps our Brasileiro brothers don't want us gringos muscling in on their action.

I have found wikigp but its not nearly as good as gpguia.

I'll be back in Sao Paulo this coming week after a one year "absence". I'd appreciate any recent feedback on the status of some of the clubs we frequent when in town including:
--- Bon Vivant (same place as the old Donna Caffe --- I have heard mixed reports. Has anyone been there recently)?
--- Romanza (After several forced closings and one move across town, I understand it is open again in the original location on Nove de Julho. Again, has anyone been there recently)?

All things considered, it's always better to speak (or understand at least) a little bit of Portuguese. However, you're not the only one on this board with this kind of limitation. As you can read here, even with no knowledge of Portuguese it's possible to have fun in that city.
Since it will be your first time in Brazil, I think that the best location for you is either Jardins or Pinheiros.
There's a nice hotel - combining both the facilities of an hotel and a flat - in Pinheiros.

This hotel is well located : your only a couple of feet away from Bomboa (so, you don't need a taxi to go there) and you're close to the Clinicas metro (subway) station.
The other choice is an hotel in Jardim

But as I don't hang out in Jardim while I am in Sampa (I prefer Moema) I'm sure that the colleagues on this board will gladly help you and come up with better suggestions.

I have been to SP a few times and always liked the Jardins area because many of the acompanhantes (escorts in ingles) live in the area so usually not too much time between when you call them and they show up. These are usually the more upscale garota de programas, usually BR 250.
The Mercure Jardins (as suggested in the past post) is a great hotel, and so is the St. Germain by the same chain in the area. You should also look at Transamerica flats in the area, and Othon flats. They are all GP friendly, and most of them are around US$100 a night. Some come with balconies which can be so very nice and almost all with internet, which usually costs more but is essential for me.
I have heard great things about other areas in SP (Moema, Itaim Bibi, Olimpa) but have not yet checked them out, so no comment.
It can be difficult to get around without basic Portuguese or Spanish in Brasil, I have seen too many "English only" folks being taken for a ride all the time. It can be particularly difficult to negotiate prices if you have no language skills.
It is a game, after all, and if you can't play, you will lose.

However in case you come here for business, your hotel location may depend on area where you have to make business or where your business partners reside.
Don't forget this is a huge metropolis with huge traffic problems.

Years ago I went a few times to Kilt, good compromise quality/price but I don't even know if place is still open.

I don't recommend you rent a car. Traffic here is very heavy and, as you don't know directions, you may spend hours in the car going from one side to the other of the city.
Go by taxi, much easy and reliable. Also, all taxi run meter so no risk to be ripped off.

I don't know if Clinica Kin is still open but I guess it is.
Clinica Kin is located near Avenida Santo Amaro that -if my memory helps- is close to the Congonhas airport but 20 km far from GRU.
I think it doesn't worth to stay in a hotel close to GRU: it isn't a nice area at all and about safety I wouldn't put my bet on it.
Best choice is to stay in central Sao Paulo which is a 20 km trip from GRU.
By taxi you may need from 20 minutes to more than 1 hour depending on which time of the day and traffic jams.
My suggestion: for the night Club Bomboa (not so far from the Avenida Paulista); for the afternoon I suggest you Clinica Shangri-La that is located in Avenida Pompeia (Perdizes) not so far as well from Avenida Paulista. I've been there now and then and I've always found nice girls providing good service.

Guarulhos is not nice. There's a couple of favela (such as Itapejica) near that bairro. The worst site is, when your on the Dutra, to see all those cheap motels.
There was a time when Guarulhos was worst in terms of safety. For example there were 804 murders in 2002 and only(!) 487 in 2006.

The reason is simple. They have a fixed-rate airport depending on the district you want to go. It's almost the same rate as a taxi with a meter. Funk, I drove all over the city..even to both airports..
But I was is Sp many times before.. So i was some familiar with the city..
But one think you have to take in consideration whem making your daily schedule is the prime time for traffic..
8AM to 10:00 is crazy but nobody wakes up that early on vacations.
At lunch time is bad but not to bad to be a metropolis 5PM to 8:00Pm you better have some rest and getting ready for the night If yoy want to see somebody at your place at that time better call her at least 2 hours before so she can make it on time..
During the day are good prives and clinicas in Brooklyn, Moema, Bella Visa Pinheiros, Consolasao etc ,, So you don't need to go too far.
GPs are most of the time base on Jardins and Moema,, very easy to get there during day time..
At night is Ok to drive but try to go with at least one more friend and DO NOT go to the favelas or near by for any reason..
the "casas" are in safe places .. you can go to Connection, Bamboa, Cafe Photo, and even Bacos that is located in Sao Bernardo out side of SP but you take the highway and is OK, no need to go trough the colonias, Sao Bernardo is a safe city comparing to SP.
You can drive by the Augusta before 2 AM no problem.. if you miss the route the program will make a new one for you right away to take you to your destination.. good luck..
One more thing: DO NOT stop at the red lights when is dark and looks empty the streets, especially if you are in an unknown area of the city..

I am not sure hiring a car is cheaper than going by taxi, obviously that depends on how long you have to go during each day, but in my opinion is more tiring and stressful, due to traffic congestion, lack of knowledge of city and of alternative routes when blocked in a traffic jam.
Also, when travelling at night, probably safer would be to sit in a taxi with a driver who knows where to go and at which red light he can stop and at which he can't (don't forget that not stopping at red light may bring other extremely dangerous consequences).
Otherwise, I agree with you that taxi are expensive here compared to other Latin America countries. This is richest and here is the reason.
Fortunately, Real recent drop makes costs, not only for taxis, more reasonable.

And last tip.. If you guys are brave enough to drive I definitely recommend it.. I saved a lot of money in taxis,, they run with the meter.. but the rate is a total rip off in my opinion.. If you do not know the city they take always the longest way also... Get a GPS and you can go almost to any clinica or prive during the day.. BUt first google the map to know how far is from your hotel and what part of the city is.. DO NOT intent to go to the perimeters when is dark and you will be fine..

i flew in to sao paulo from belo at 2pm and had a planned lay over until my flight left for the states at 10:30pm. i built in the extra time to gauge this for the future.

You forgot "rodizio" that is a traffic ban in certain hours of the day (if I am not wrong 7-10 and 18-20?) depending on the last digiti of the plate of the car. There are lots of traffic police officers checking out at traffic lights.
They wil not stop you bu the fine is sent to the car owner.
I do not know the details as wehen I am there I ignore the ban since the car owner (a very large corporate) will sort it out.
I am even wondering how it works if one rents a car..I mean, I rent a car and can't drive it?? Anyone knows about exceptions?

System has been established about 10 years years ago in order to solve problem of ultra-congested traffic during peak hours.
It is in force monday to friday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the so called Mini Anel Viario area (see attached map).
In theory in peak hours traffic should reduce by 20% as monday plates ending with 1 and 2 are not allowed to circulate, tuesday plates ending with 3 and 4 are not allowed to circulate and so on.
Fine is about R 85,00.
p.s doesn't stress you that guy on helicopter giving infos on radio channel about traffic jams and this or that street blocked ...

I don't know where you will be located in Jardins area, but it is not too far. In case of no traffic at night, maybe 5-10 minutes.
Anyhow, in the hotel website there is a link to g-maps to give you right directions and distance.
As many of the GDP's reside in the Jardins area this is probably one of the reason they use Lido. Also, area is central and is easily, so to speak for such a traffic congested metropolis, accessible from all areas.
In case the girls you want to spend time with live in that area you may also go to their place. You will save motel money and some taxi money.
Maybe they live just around the corner where you live.

Guerrero, As Albert told you; Lido is a motel that many GPs use as "in call" I haven't used it ever because as you, most of the time I stay in Jardins, and 70% of the independents have a place there. The Lido girls I cal them to come over my place.. Lido is used for newbies who don't have a apt or flat yet (Something similar to "La Roustique" in Baires).. most of them charge less that the other garotas .. is cheaper but not, you have to pay your taxi and the room too, most of the time...

Okay I am working out my final budget for my trip.

So with my flight(s) coming in well under $1000US, that would leave roughly $700US for "Fun". Is this enough money to have "fun" in both locations? I have a connection in Curitiba so that's covered mostly.

Love Story is a very interesting place. I agree with the previous poster. This is where the GDP's go to hang out for fun after working. If they can make an extra buck, fine. If not, they will drink and dance and relax.
One night my girl and I went to a GLS club (primarily lesbians and travestis) on Consolacao. We ended up hooking up with 2 other girls, and as things were winding down in the club, we all decided to go to LS. So, in I go, with three gorgeous girls in tow. Another popular after-hours is Lov.e Club & Lounge, in Itaim Bibi neighborhood.
It's actually the trendiest late-night club in Sao Paulo. Quite a crazy place, jam-packed on weekends till 9am or so, to experience at least once.
Nonetheless I personally much prefer Love Story, which is quite simply the greatest after-hours on the planet in the history of mankind, bar none.

I went to Bomboa a couple of Friday's ago. The pricing is 180R entrance fee which can be used as consumption for yourself and garotas. 100R is still the charge for a room in the hotel next to the club. They had a free dinner buffet, so all consumption can be used for drinks. The club was quiet at 6 PM when I arrived, but pretty much full when exited around 9 PM.
As I settled into my seat at the bar, a garota approached me and said that she recognized me from Rio. It turns out that I took her out of La Cicciolina on my second trip to Rio almost 5 years ago. She was just starting out in the business at the time. I also did a follow up trip to the racetrack in Rio with her on the same trip that she reminded me of. If you want some "privacy" there's always a way to bypass the front desk.
One of my guest (Elektra) had her car. She parked it in the inside garage and took the elevator up to my room without registering at the front desk. As I know personally Leticia Lima (at that time she was sharing her flat with another girl) I greeted her in the hall of the hotel. I didn't registered her at the front desk.

Two (or even three) sections of the city are safe: Jardins, Pinheiros, Moema.
For personal reason, I prefer Moema. In my book, it's like a replica of Greenwich Village in New York. Very safe district. Safe and quiet all nightHotels and flats in the price rabge you're looking for. A lot of girls lives there. Restaurants, clinicas, privês abound.
Jardins is the popular section among our fellow hobbyists. Very urban, still noisy at night. A lot of girls live there.
Pinheiros would be my middle choice, between Moema and Jardins. Pinheiros is the Soho of São Paulo.
For a first visit, Jardins is all right.

As a matter of fact, I have always stayed in Jardins or Moema.
All flats or hotels I stayed accepted visitors.
In some cases they register them, in some they don't.
In no cases I have been charged with an extra.
As far as I know, that policy applies to all flats/hotels in SP.

GKI was at Palms last month, the quality looks very good from the book of photos but they don't come greet you like other clnicas. 190R for clinic for 1 hour, which 1/2 hour is shower/massage, 200R for girl. Total 390R which I thought was expensive for 1/2 hour of action. Very nice facility though. Never been to Fracebel.

I think Francebel went out of business. I couldn't find it last August when I was in Sao Paulo. Went to a place near Conghonas a few hours before a flight, and was impressed at the ease of the massage business in Sao Paulo.

This question , depending on where you are, might work in your advantage:
In rio's termas where the fees are predetermined, the girls always ask you where you are staying , as a conversation starter.

Not really, I had managed to arrange a meeting with an old friend of mine, now out of business, at Lido to spend part of the afternoon.
I think room cost is acceptable, I took a Premium suite with jacuzzi at R 92 per 3 hours, considering a small lunch is also included.
This was my first experience at Lido, which is clean and convenient as located in a central area.
I was surprised how busy it was. I thought saturday (and sunday) was dead, but it wasn't, and people at reception confirmed is like this every weekend.
Apparently, motel is a good business here in Brazil.

I'm first time in Sao Paulo and of course very interested in the Paulista scene (in despite of the limited time).
With gratitude to the fellows who wrote informative reports I did choose to go to Cafe Photo after cruising around a little bit near Augusta street. In this Augusta some SW's but not really my piece of cake. Moema is an enjoyable neighborhood (I fully agree with SG on this point), but there's few nightlife options compared to other bairros. Also the point to consider is that Moema is quite far from everything and that taxis are f*****g expensive in Sao Paulo.
Anyhow if you arrive on a Sunday evening, your only P4P options will be N.Pestana or Augusta strip bars and then Love Story. So better stay in Centro IMO, something like at Comfort Hotel Downtown (former Mercure), which is located rua Araujo in Consolaçao. Same street than LS by the way.

Sonesta Ibirapuera is a good place to stay. The hotel is all right and well located. You're near of several attractions (restaurants, bars, privês, Ibirapbuera park and the Ibirapuera shopping center). Moreover, a lot of garotas live there (Amanda Cruz, among others).
It's more difficult to find a girl on Sunday in SP. When you'll be in Brazil you will have access to the GP Guia. There's a heading: MURAL DE RECADOS where the GP that are working on holydays post their schedule (There's even posts where they have promotion, psecial rates, etc.)

Thanks to Ryjerrob and everyone else who answered my questions, I have now had my first Brazilian experience. The map was awesome, and helped me determine which locations were closest to my hotel.
Well, after doing a little research I decided on the American Center Massage Clinic for some well deserved (if I say so myself) relaxation. I figured that it is unlikely that anyone speaks English so I decided to email them first to see if there was anyone on staff that spoke English, and the answer is no. (I used one of the online translation programs to send my questions in both English and Portuguese) They responded quickly with some good information and I have copied the email into this posting.
They are located about a 5 minute walk from the Paraiso metro station and it was easy to find. Basically, one block over and then down the hill a few blocks.
I arrived late (about 9:15 and they close at 10:00 and tomorrow is a holiday so I was not expecting a huge selection.
They had three ladies working, Bia, Fernanda and Kelly. Kelly seemed to be in charge and met me in the office to show me the ladies and negotiate things.
From the pictures on their website, I thought that I would prefer Fernanda or Mel and fortunately Fernanda was available. She is about 5’3" and slender with small breasts and is probably around 20 years old with a beautiful face. Perfect for me, just the way I like them.

I arrived at Love Story at 3AM Sunday morning. There was no line. The doorman probably recognized me as gringo immediately. He asked me to pay 50R. I got 2 free drinks for it. Not sure what locals pay to get in. The place was packed and pumping. It is not a big club as Help in Rio. The energy level of club is way better than Help.
Girls: Vast majority of girls are ugly. Many of them are fat. I have never seen so many fat Brazilian girls in one place. About 80% of them are under 5 on scale of 10. Many of them were even old. I would not do them even if I get paid. Rio’s Help has better looking girls and I don’t like Help girls. There are no high caliber working girls here.
Maybe many of these ugly girls are regular girls. They look like from a low social class. But, man, they are fat and ugly. Remind me so much about many of American girls.

A few years back I inquired on this thread about going to Love Story. I thought I would arrive in Sao Paulo on a Friday and hit Love Story both Friday night and Saturday night then continue on to Rio on Sunday.
All the experts at the time told me that this would be a mistake as Love Story really only is happenning during the week not on the weekend. They told me the best nights would be Tuesday thru Thursday because since Sao Palulo is a business center that everybody goes out of the city on the weekend.
As a result of this I never made it there yet, when I go to Brazil/Rio I usually arrive on Thursday or Friday and always thought I would make it to LOve Story by going there during the week while I was in Rio and that has not happened yet.
Maybe some of the Sao Paulo experts can chime in verify this or not.
Love Story really only is happenning during the week not on the weekend.
Love Story is also excessively crowdy both during the week and on weekends, but is without doubt at its best Monay/Thursday, when maybe 90% of the girls are GdP. As everyone knows, contrarily to Rio, most of the working girls in SP are 7+ euro-ethnic meninas.
On the contrary, on Friday and Saturday, most of the girls are regulars (with some freelancers though). And as in Brasil the ratio or density of really hot non-pros girls is admitedly not that high, I'm not surprised that Captain Nemo found the place rather uninspiring.

Sonesta Ibirapuera is nice hotel and not expensive in case you book through their website in advance. Otherwise, you may want to try Intercity Premium which is right in front on other side of Avenida.
I don't think they are far from action.
The Palms or Cafe Photo are not far away, for example, you can virtually walk to the second. And a taxi drive to the Jardins area where lots of GDP reside is a mere R 25-30.

that webiste is one of the most famous but you can also rely on many others (just scroll this thered and you will find them mentioned).
It is not an agency as numbers you see posted are those of the girls. So when you call you speak to them direct.
Some girls speak english and you can manage to invite them to their place or to visit them at their place.

Hi.
I would like some advice from one of you guys living in sampa, or have lived there in the past and know it well.
I am a rio man, Ive been living here for 3 years, and I have only visited sampa on few occasions for short visits, I dont know it well at all.
Me and my carioca GF are seriously considering buying a nice little Chacara (house+land) in greater sampa, 60-100k ish real, somewhere in the neighbouring municipios sourrounding sampa, because we want a better quality of life in a house with some land, higher then what is available inside the city of sampa for this same amount of money.
The question is, any advice on normal non-favela like municipios that are really close to sampa, close to enough to be able to drive to work from the outside of sampa towards central sampa every morning and still arrive in less then an hour from that location to the center of sampa ?
Also, from what ive been able to gather online its the south of sampa that is especially poorer and more problematic. so in which direction should I buy a house, so I wont have to pass through lots of favelas every day on my way to work from outside of sampa going inwards to the center of sampa ?
Would really appreciate a good advice from someone who knows.

It depends of what you mean by «upscale». I am aware of the prices for apartment in Moema. Expect to pay, monthly, around R$1,400 (that's an average price). One of my friend have an apt. in Moema (3 bedrooms) and he pays a little bit less than that. I am also aware that you need a "fiador" if you want to rent an apt.
I have a girlfriend, still in Moema, on Rouxinol between Pintasilgo and Santo Amaro, and she pays R$1,600 for one bedroom apt. She has two balconies (one giving in the front (Rouxinol) the other on the side of the building. In the building there,s a laundry room, a pool, a training center and a garage. It,s a nice building but the apartment is very small.

Yeah, Sao Paulo Zona Sul is essentially favelas and poor bairros like Jardim Angela (once considered by UN as one of most violent urban area in the world), Capao Redondo (which slowly becomes better though) or Grajau, which is the worst district of SP and probably the worst urban sector in Brasil when it comes to crime. Nonetheless there's also in Zona Sul some nice neighborhood such as Interlagos, Saude and some others.
Cool bairros out of Sao Paulo central cosmopolitan bowels? Well, there's literally hundreds of them within city limits. If I'd searched a quite cheap house in a nice, non-sophisticated and relatively low-rise neighborhood, I'd personally go West, somewhere like Butanta, which is close from Marginal Pinheiros, Sao Miguel Paulista, a very nice lower-middle class bairro, or Jaragua, one of the greenest and more "rural" district of Zona Oeste.
That's just a few suggestions. In Zona Norte, bairros like Freguesia, Paredo Inglesa or Jardim Sao Paulo are nice and real estate is undoubtedly quite cheap there. In Zona Leste, districts like Tatuape, Belem, Penha or Sao Miguel Paulista are also nice. Once more, there's plenty of enjoyable lower-middle class/middle class neighborhoods in SP.
Just avoid Zona Sul.

Moema, Itaim, ect are adminitratively part of Zona Centro-Sul or Zona Centro-Oeste and geographically of Centro Expandido. They're not part of Zona Sul by any means.

To answer, the 250R was to the girl. If my memory serves me well. There was a small "token" payment out the door to the house. But again, due to the crackdowns, Guaguin seems to be taking a more "what happens outside is not my problem" approach.
Regarding Sunday. Hmm. My experience is that many girls take Sunday's off. And I think many of the termas are limited/closed or not many girls on. That being said, Sunday evening is a great day for bar hopping in Sao Paulo. Many "in" bars in Pinheiros, Itaim, V.Olimpia, Jardins, Bela Vista, ect (that makes hundreds of them) have a Sunday party with musica ao vivo (usually MPB or samba) which begins quite early, around 6pm, and is INEVITABLY packed to the walls. Drinks are usually cheaper on that day, and there's always promotions such as "mulheres VIP" or things like that.
Paulistas LOVE going out on Sunday evenings. It's a great day for "paquerar" (chasing) non-pros. Also it's the day where the GDP on their day off go out for fun and party.
One of my Brazilian colleagues gave me the skinny on why Bahamas closed....long story short: A plane crashed in SP. An investigation was launched. Investigation uncovers that there is a tall building near the airport that makes it tricky to land. Building is investigated. Turns out that the owners of the building are related to the guy who owns Bahamas. Bahamas is investigated and they find that it is a bar that also has rooms for sex on premises. Police close Bahamas and any other club in SP with rooms. So the story Paulistas abbreviate: "Bahamas closed because of a plane crash"...and that's why all of the clubs in SP require the girls to be taken off premises (to a nearby motel or hotel room).

Tatuape, the bairro where Connection is located, is only five stations from Praça da Republica. I think it's even direct from Bras station with the East Express (Expresso Leste).

I thought a hotel near Connection might be perfect. It's almost equi-distant between these two facilities. Does anyone have any recommendations for a high end, chica friendly hotel near Connection, or a better alternative? Hotel cost is not a problem since it's all going to be expensed back to clients.

I stayed at the TransAmerica Opera (Jardins) on my first trip to Sampa in 2004. There was no problem and no charge for having "guest". They do however have to "register". For your protection as well as the hotels. They also serve the best "canja de sopa" that I have ever had. :)

It's mandatory to speak Portuguese when you call agencies garotas because you have to «combinar um encontro» (set up in details the services you want to receive: DFK, DATY, anal, taxi fare, etc.). Howerver, there an easy way to get round this: ask a bellboy working in your hotel to serve as a translator.
Certain agencies, such as McClass, give a complete description of the garota and under the rubric «idiomas» you can see if she speaks English or not.

It's not down. I tried several proxy sites to access gpguia and keep getting 403 error, access forbidden. Looks like they've been more successful at blocking access to it from outside Brazil.

An option I just stumbled upon: configure your web browser to connect to the internet via a proxy. (Will require more research for me.)
You have to change your web browser connection settings and manually set them. If you don't know how, Google search for detailed instructions on how to do that.
I got it to work on Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox using Mexican proxy: 201.147.20.245

I recently went to Connection on a Friday night. I took the metro to the Carrao stop and then a 12R taxi fare to the club. I arrived around 7:30. The entrance fee was 80R that can be used in consumption. If you are a light drinker (I am)it can last a while. A beer runs 12R and water/soft drinks around 10R. I had an individual pizza for dinner and I think that was around 20R. An onsite room here runs 70R for an hour and is very nice as is the club.
When I arrived there were around 12 to 15 garotas available. As the night went on more and more arrived. Around midnight there were at least 35 or 40.
I talked to a few garotas and settled on a 23 year old that said she used to work at Bahamas before it closed. She was a cute spinner that obviously spent time in the gym. She passed my interview without any problems until we reached the part about money. The local boards indicate that a number of the locals are paying 150R - 200R for an hour. She wanted a gringo/sucker price of 300R. I told her that I would pay the fair/local price of 200R. After a little discussion, she had no problem with 200R.

Once I got her focused on why we were there, she did everything she agreed to in the interview. However, she was well short of superstar quality. She gave me her phone number and wanted to come out to my hotel for a session. I never called her since I had no interest in repeating.
I left the club after I finished my session which was a little after midnight. I took a taxi back to my hotel in Jardins and it ran 67R on the meter. Since many of the garotas arrive later in the evening, it really isn't possible to take the metro back to centro. The Metro closes at midnight. It's best to go with someone to share the transportation costs.
