3. Honey Pot Restaurant on Litchfield was an excellent place for breakfast.

4. The Loaded Hog was an excellent saloon and drew a young crowd after 9 in the evening. Sammies is a jazz cafe, very comfortable.

5. Winebagos serves weird pizzas (in terms of ingredients) with ear splitting music.

6. MyThai is crowded and not worth the effort IMHO.

7. The Copenhagen Bakery on Armagh Street is excellent for breakfast or lunch.

8. Two first rate Internet Cafe's on Armagh street not far from the Colombo intersection.

While out playing up the other week went and had a bite to eat (soak some of the Sav Blanc0

Ended up a new bar in a little lane called Poplar Lane. Bar was called Red Jacks.

Food was awesome, service great and cool atmosphere.

For those of you that dont know Christchurch to well. Poplar Lane is an upcoming area just off Tuam St near the Atami.

There are 3 really nice bars there that have great food and good service. The under 20s haven't discovered them yet and so you can have a relaxing but fun evening and wander between the bars,

Then of course being situated where it is there are plenty of brothels within 5 minutes walking distance to take the edge off you as well.

Try Pedros Spanish Restaurant down on Worscester St as well. Thats my favourite place in Christchurch. Book early tables are hard to come buy.
Its still close to lots of brothels as well.

I wonder if its the restaurants or the brothels that I use as landmarks

a) It shows you get out a lot; and

b) It makes for more interesting conversation; and

c) You can make a throwaway remark about a nearby brothel, and then neatly segue back into more about the restaurant

I haven't been here for ages but decided it was bout time I tried it again.

Cafe Valentino on Colombo St, north of the square.

Its still brilliant, lots of yummy pasta and great lamb. Wine list is good,
staff are nice looking and give great service with a smile and a sense of humour.

I also went to Palazzo recently, its seafood and is a Christchurch institution if you're into seafood. Service is always good here and the food is great, they have a awesome wine list. Its not overly expensive but not cheap either. The Italian waitor is hilarious and he still remembers my name even though I haven't been there for a year and he's spent 6 months home in Italy between then. Thats good service!
