I have been receiving a lot of PMs on directions to Presidential Spa. It looks like Bella will be receiving a lot ISG forum bros very soon. I think the hotel used to be known as Erato Hotel or something. The Spa is on Level 3A. As you enter the hotel, turn left and there should be a lift there. Spa is tastefully done with nice decor. Jakarta (a good place to start)
Travel:
You have a wealth of choice of airlines (MAS, Garuda, Air Asia, KLM, Emirates, Gulf and more) but I can only comment on the ones I've tried. MAS is the most expensive unless there's a special promotion and frankly the food is terrible - I try to ask for a special meal. Air Asia of course sells limited meals but as long as you have a cheap ticket so what. The first flight out in the morning is Air Asia Indonesia and they have some sweet stewardesses too (yes Acerboy including Nasi Pulut - who has been neutralized now) you can always try and start early by chatting them up. KLM advertises and provides cheap flights but they only have one flight daily. I've seen a KL - JKT business class return by economy for RM632 with tax when MAS was selling economy return for about RM900 with tax. Book early as the tickets sell like crazy. Emirates also have one flight daily, so so service but a late night return (could be good or bad depending on your schedule). It's a flight of less than 2 hours and and Waktu Indonesia Barat is one hour behind Malaysian time.
Food:
Plenty of food to choose from so I'll only highlight the Sup Buntut at Hotel Borubudor for the grilled sup buntut and the empal goreng at Payon restaurant in Kemang which goes well with the various sambals there. My good friend Panya also recommends the Kobe beef available in the Japanese outlets here.
Hotels:
Check www.goindotel.com for rates as well as the hotels themselves. You can even book when you arrive at the airport. Both Indotel and Kaha (booking agencies) have booths at the airport arrival area. Some hotels are easier to book direct (happened to me with the Grand Kemang Hotel) and if you have a local GF and can use her name, they give cheaper rates to locals at some of the hotels. I can recommend Grand Kemang, Park Lane and Manhattan Hotels for their reasonable rate with a decent room and convenience - as long as you want to go central to South Jakarta. Manhattan is 560k rupiah with internet and breakfast Kemang 640k. Plus side of Kemang is you can walk to a lot of restaurants from your hotel - saving of time and taxi fare.
Bars:
Last trip we went to 30Bar (Le Meridien), CJs (Mulia), BATs (Shangri-La) and the D's Place, MyBar and Top Gun (Blok M area) all of which had several possibilities (but more limited for those of us who insist on C cup;)). Please follow the general rule of is your dick twitches, go for it! One of my companions kept procrastinating his choice until all his options ran out as more decisive hunters took all of the prey. The President Spa hotel at Damansara Perdana does provide short time usage and can check in anytime but only set back is that the short period is only 2 hours. Used to be 4.
Anyway if you do go there then ask for the rooms facing the main road as they are much bigger.

Hi Von Dutch and Guys; Yeah, Day use hotel normally starts after 12noon onwards, to give housekeeping a chance to make-up room after guest early check-out. What's the difference 10am or 12noon? it's only 2 hours wait, which you can creatively spent somewhere first with your "date', hotel coffee house for late breakfast or mamak restaurant for teh-tarik. What I mean is, if you can't change the system, adapt to it, instead of letting it bog you down. Life is like that, need to be flexible.
After that long lecture on Life, here's a tip. I like Hotel Armada PJ day use, good hotel but recommend you book in early, say in early morning for noon check-in. I am sure you date will be impressed!! cheers BB
