Thanks Artisttyp and Phordphan for the quick responses.

Are these the red passenger vans with the placard in the windshield? I saw several of them stop in front of the Wal Mart up the hill from the hotel and drop people off. It did seem more economical as they were all packed full of people but knowing where you were going would need to be a necessity. Thanks again, BurmaYes. Collectivos are vans, or, sometimes, station wagons. They're painted green, red, brown and maybe other colors. The color signifies the route, *I think*. They will have placards showing the route. A good example is the one that waits in front of Plaza Rio. The route shows various stops, with the route terminating in Centro. So, this one is a good one to take from Plaza Rio back to near Ticuan, for instance. I think they stop running at night. You absolutely need to know where the route takes you. These are a bit more convenient than the public bus, but far less so than taxis.

The yellow taxis, and the white with green stripe taxis, are "Taxis Economicos," aka yellow taxis. They run flat rates from zone to zone. So, when you cross the border you'll see the big yellow taxi stand with a large sign stating prices to various destinations. If you want a flat-fee to Bumfucko, Mexico, this may be a good choice. Nabbing one around town will cost you more for short trips.

White with orange stripe are the "Taxis Libres." That means that they are "Free" to go anywhere they want, as opposed to a collectivo which has a fixed itinerary. They used to have meters, but I've not seen (an operable) one for a long time. Generally, local trips run between 40 and 70 pesos. That's like between Centro, Zona Rio, Zona Urbana, etc.

White and gold stripe taxis are stationed at the Otay border and the Tijuana airport. They are far more expensive than even the yellow taxis, and best avoided.

The dark colored ones that wait at the street corners along Revu are independents, AFAIK. They're the ones where the guy stands around and asks everyone within earshot if they want a taxi. I've only used them a couple of times to get to the border. Price was the same as a yellow, I. E. $5. I've never been with a local girl who even considered using one. They all used Libres or collectivos.

Stereotypes often exist for a reason.

http://www.targetmap.com/viewer.aspx?reportId=3073

That's why they are stereotypes. Is there any scientific proof of the data in this map? Or is it just some shit out of some crazy mind? Like the quote said above, the size of your wallet matters the most when it comes to buying pussies. You can buy the prettiest pussies in the world if you got the dinero. If not, your dick can be as big as that of a donkey, you still have jack it off yourself.

Just to help everybody put the $60/$70/$80 thing into perspective. One of my CL faves has a fairly decent regular job. It's with a major internationally known company and requires you to be bilingual, so not just any yo-yo can step in and do it. It pays about 200 pesos per DAY, with a six day work week. On that pay one can live modestly, rent an apartment, own an older car, etc.

Now $80, at Sunday's exchange rate of 12. 5:1 is 1, 000 pesos. That is almost ONE WEEK'S SALARY for a regular person. Put another way, paying five days' salary for 30 minutes of work is insanity. That's like paying a US provider $1, 600 for the same service. That girl also doesn't have to have sex with strange men in a high risk job. I'm not saying you should pay 80 but 50 to 60 seems about right. Let's roll reverse here. Let's say you were a male prostitute and you had to have sex with a bunch of girls who are butt ugly. It's not like you will be having sex with 21 yo swimsuit models. You are going to have to have sex with old fat women. Would doing that for say 200 a hour in the US get to you after awhile. I think it would and you would want to get paid more than a regular job in the US. Free market people. This business is short term for these women. They all get old.

I posted new thread for those that are curious about Otay Mesa crossing. Hope it helps. Feel free to add to this.As I was leaving HK one Thursday morning around 9:30AM I got into one lone taxi libre waiting right outside. If my recollection from an earlier encounter was correct then the driver was a former Tijuana police officer. He spoke decent English and loved to practice speaking English with gringos riding in his taxi.

As we were leaving HK he informed me that the line at San Ysidro border was very long and offered to take me to Otay Mesa instead. I was a bit surprised because from my experience the crowd should almost be clear by this time on a weekday morning like this. Because of his insistence I gave him the benefit of the doubt and agreed to head to Otay Mesa.

He then quoted me an outrageous amount of money (in US dollars) in order to take me there. Sitting in a moving taxi I started to realize the predicament I was in. I calmly confessed to him that I had very little money left and it was all in pesos. I insisted that he took me back to San Ysidro. He thought about it for a moment then agreed to turn around.

We arrived at San Ysidro border more or less about the same time had we drove straight there in the first place. To my delight the line was not as long as he had made me believe earlier. Feeling such a relief I gave him 70 pesos and tried to get out of the taxi. He took the money but refused to unlock the door to let me out. He drove me a short distance away from the crowd and demanded 400 pesos total for the cab fare. I gave him another 50 pesos then raised my voice and told him that I didn't have anymore money left. With a disgusted look on his face he unlocked the door and let me out.

I get a feeling that the yellow taxis are more organized and may cost more but they would scam you less than these libre ones.

My ultimate nightmare is to deal with these evil taxi drivers late at night in some dark and desolate alleys in Tijuana.

Is there any scientific proof of the data in this map?Couldn't tell you. Because you're surely set to not believe anything I say, but did you study up on the data sources presented in it?

Got to be at least 80-90 sources over many decades that make it up.

You're welcome to ignore it, not believe it. Etc.

They get you as soon as you get in. So if you agree with the price first then I would get in. I got caught on this coming from SY to the zone and the guy hit me up for $10. After that lesson, I ALWAYS ask no matter what taxi company. Second, if they deviate from the path, you point that out to them before it gets any worse. I've rode taxi's by myself in Tijuana from different parts of the city and I have been lucky not to come across that. So the lesson here is NEGOTIATE the price first. If he tells you another route, don't deviate or renegotiate. I'm curious, if you crossed from SY, why would you want to cross at Otay? Your car would still be at SY unless you rode the trolley. The red flag right there was that he was a police officer once, why would he be driving a cab? That right there should tell you he was a very dishonest person. Do you remember the cab number? You might want to let the rest of the fellow mongers know.

There are plenty taxis that will take you for your price. I thought libre had meters anyway. I think it sucks that all cabs don't have meters anyway.

When thing go sideways in Tijuana, it can be pretty scary.

I've never left HK, or anywhere in the zona, that early in the morning. But I have taken cabs in many different parts of the world. Rule #1 is NEVER get into a cab that's waiting in front of a hotel, restaurant or bar. If they can afford to sit around and wait for a sucker, err, customer, then you want no part of that. Exception. The non-Libre cabs that wait in front of Adelita and Chicago Club are usually OK if you confirm it's $5 to the border.

But, in the case of a Libre, I always get one that's moving on the street. In the zona I go into the alley and wait for one to come along, or nab one going up Ninos Heroes. If you're going to the border you don't have to negotiate a price. Get into the FRONT seat, act like you own the damn thing, and give the driver 50 pesos at the end. It's more than the normal fare to the border, so they're happy, you're happy, etc.

I've had more "scams" attempted by the drivers of they yellow cabs than by Libres, although that's just my experience. Nothing serious, just the usual "what do you need," "do you want a lady," "Hong Kong is closed, let me take you elsewhere." Or "jokingly" try to get me to pay $10 for a trip from the border to the zona.

Howdy folks,

I'm going to SoCal primarily to see the RedSox-Dodgers game in LA and the cheapest travel option was to fly to San Diego. I've also in my Texas homeland mongered both Nuevo Laredo and Reynosa Boystowns which are enclosed complexes with girls at doorways, minimal to zero street walkers within the zona (been advised to avoid if this scenario arises) , and few clubs / bars though I don't go that route. I had some ZNorte questions that may take forever to scroll through every message posting to find.

1.) On the SD / San Isidro side, is there parking / overnight parking. What are my options to park a rent car on the SD side?

2.) Been studying Googlemaps for a little over an hour. The pedestrian brdige that gets you from the border to the arch. Is that the same walkway to get you back to the border the next morning?

3.) Is it truly reasonably safe for a caucasian male walking solo in the dusk night hours? With a backpack prior to the hotel room?

4.) Is it better to go with a club girl or paradita?

5.) When I approach a paradita I want to try with, what kind of questions should I ask? Does it make a difference which hotel / brothel they're tied with? Should I tip the hotel counter guy?

6.) Should I watch my back?

Your feedback is greatly appreciated

Your feedback is greatly appreciated1) UETA lot, Camino de la Plaza exit off the 5, west side of the freeway. Behind Jack in the Box, east side of freeway. Both are suitable for overnight.

2) Yes. Note that the bridge just gets you over the river. It's still another 10 minute walk, give or take, to the arch.

3) Yes.

4) Nobody can answer this. Do you prefer 30 minute sessions or 15 to 20 minute quickies. What's better, chocolate or vanilla?

5) How much. How much for sin ropa. How much for BJ. They will take you to the hotel they work from. They're all shitty except for Cascadas. Don't tip the hotel guy. Leave $1 for the cleaning boy.

6) Yes

Came back from La Linea at San Ysidro on Saturday at about 5:00PM. The wait was about 45 minutes vs 3 hours at the same time two weeks ago. With the newly installed machines and the ready lane access for people with green cards and passport cards, the lines moved a lot faster. They are also constructing some new lanes at the entrance into US customs building, which could be the new ready lane.

My ultimate nightmare is to deal with these evil taxi drivers late at night in some dark and desolate alleys in Tijuana.Phord Phan, SBeach and One Wing Low had some great advices. In my years of visiting south of the border, I have mostly used the yellow cabs for the convenience. However recently I have been using the libre and paying $4.00 instead of $5.00. The libres used to accept $3.00. IMHO, if you are a frequent visitor, you can always develop some "friendship" with a couple of cab drivers like you do with the meseros. I know 2 brothers with one libre cab always parked across from Chicago Club for the last couple of years. They are very friendly and very reliable. The elder brother is named Miguel who works his shift from 4:00pm to 4:am, then the younger brother Coco takes over from 4:00am to 4. M. They do not speak a lot of English, but quite easy to deal with. $4.00 to San Ysidro and $12 to Otay Mesa. I know I could negotiate lower, but I feel like that they are my friends already.

Was in Tijuana yesterday with my buddy. I am happy to report that the taco stand on the corner next to Chicago club is back selling Tacos Al Pastor. They are just as good as the stand that was there previously imo. I'm glad I will no longer have to go to the one on Niños Heroes, since that would is just crowded with locals and beggars.

Now on to the pink tacos: we stepped into AB and then HK just to check out the goods as we usually do (walking the alley in between). It was around 2:30 Pm. Both places were total sausage fests. We were running low on time, so we settled on AB. My buddy and I picked the ones we thought were the hottest there and sat for a ficha. His was a hot 19 year old. Mine was a 23 year old, named Brenda, from Tijuana. They went up and we soon followed. Standard 60 wham bam thank you ma'm. Brenda had no reservations of what I could do (at least given what I tried) , which was nice. However, she seemed to be there physically, but not mentally. Oh well. I'd repeat with a couple more fichas and more time, to get her to loosen up.

Coco works day shifts from 4:00am to 4:00pm and Miguel works from 4:00pm to 4:00am. Their libre taxi parks right across the street from Chicago Club. You do not have to give them any tips. And you can try to negotiate down to $10.00 to Otay Mesa where crossing is like a breeze.

the one mistake i made was to tell the guy that i had never been at otay mesa. that gave him the idea to scam me. next time if someone insists to take me to otay mesa i will simply ask him to drop me off near the bridge so i can cross it on foot. that is also the reason why i choose to leave the zona in broad daylight.

when i leave hk i don't usually take a taxi waiting right outside. i always walk down the street to adelitas. i would briefly get in adelitas, then get out and take a yellow cab right outside. that way i can avoid the situation when someone from hk whom i might inadvertently attract his / her attention for whatever reason and they decided to monitor my every move.

the incident from my earlier story is one of a few times i let my guard down.

riding in a taxi in the zona is the most critical part of the trip. that is the time when you are most vulnerable especially during the evening hours. for that reason i'm always polite to the drivers and never try to haggle the fare as long as it is reasonable.

when you get a taxi you simply take the one that is available and convenient. you often don't pick and choose who the driver is. you only learn more about him (or her) after you get in and on the move. many taxi drivers at the zona often have a dark complexion, are out of shape and with a rather sloppy and sometimes dirty look. the guy in my story was in good shape, and had a clean-cut and dapper appearance. compared to an average taxi driver he actually appeared to be good looking, educated, and well spoken.

so how would you know?

so how would you know?riding in the front is a strictly local mexican thing. my guess is that it may have originated in df, where so many of the taxis, for so long, were vw beetles. in any case, i've never seen a single female hop in the front of a cab, and certainly couples ride in the back. but you make a good point.

you can't tell if the driver is a snake, or a nice guy. although, i used to have a fave who would take it upon herself to flag me a taxi. she'd look at the driver and sometimes refuse and send him on his way. i have no idea what she was looking for. but, in general, i've always had good luck by selecting a cab that was moving on the street, not waiting for a fare.

i got into that habit back in the bad old days. the cabs in front of hk and ab have to travel east on coahuila, and then south on madero. at the time, madero was pitch black and the cops had a penchant for pulling the cabs over and searching for drugs. it's a bit unnerving to have to assume the position on the hood of a cop car in the wee hours. so, i started nabbing on-the-move ones in the alley, where they had to proceed south on ninos heroes, avoiding the cop trap. it's probably moot now, as the incidence of cops shaking down tourists is way down from the days of hank rhon.

Can someone explain what Otay Mesa is and why I would want to pay 12 to get there.Google Maps is your friend.

For many years there has been an alternate crossing point in the suburb of Otay Mesa. It's a few miles east of downtown Tijuana. Basically, it's used for all the heavy truck traffic. There is also a fair sized automobile facility, as well as a pedestrian crossing point. Many locals cross at this point due to the insane lines at San Ysidro.

OM is much smaller than the SY crossing, so on busy days it can be as long a wait as SY. However, generally speaking, it's a much shorter wait. This is great for folks who only have a regular passport. If you have an RFID-type document it may be a bit shorter than SY because the Ready lane starts at the beginning of the line, as opposed to SY, which starts inside the turnstile (at least last time I was at SY).

Of course, the down side is parking. If you park in SY you have to cab it from OM back to SY. If you park in OM you have to cab back and forth to Centro. It may not be worth the hassle, depending on what time you cross.

I only use OM when I'm seeing a girl who lives in the area.

The last cab I took, we got to a round about, the driver shot for the far right lane, didn't stop, laid on the horn, and shot around the outside edge past three of the exits until we made ours. The other drivers just got out of his way and no way seemed dazed. Normally, I wouldn't have cared as much in the smaller, more nimble Taxi Libre's but this was a blue and white Crown Vic with 330, 000 miles on the odometer. Sure, if we got hit, it would've been safer in the bigger vehicle but the days of two wheeled, Blues Brother cop car scenario were way behind for this creaking hunk.

didn't have any appointments scheduled for monday. coincidentally, rocky the flying squirrel had been texting me, wondering when i was going to return. well, why not?

i rolled into otay about 12:30, changed some money and was at her doorstep by about 1:00, 100 pesos lighter due to the confirep001ory rates charged by the gold cabs.

we took the collective over to 7-11 and bought some cervezas and some skyy vodka drinks. then it was off to the no-tel. 200p for 4 hours.

after examining the menu we ordered some room service. even in a small love motel, in an industrial part of tijuana, the food that shows up is still damn good. the guacamole with my quesadilla was fresh and delicious.

so, for the next 4 hours, or so, we proceeded to have lunch, get pleasantly buzzed, listen to some music and have some very good sex. my poor spanish is strained to the max, but i guess it's good for me. the nietzschean method for learning a foreign language, i suppose.

it was getting late and i had a long drive or i would have had some delicious tacos as tacos poblanos de otay, or a name to that effect. so, we walked across the street and caught a cab. i got dropped at the border. it was approaching 6pm and the line wasn't short, it wasn't there. 0 people ahead of me. of course, the asshole cbp guy asked if i was bringing anything back. i said no. he then asked the same thing they've all been asking lately; where are you going? where does it look like, asshole? white guy, coming from mexico? i always say "home." that used to make them happy, now they ask where that it. so, i told him the city. then dickwad says "what are you doing here?" like i beamed in from mars, i suppose, and just happened to land in mexico. i looked him straight in the eye and said "visiting friends." i was mentally daring him to dig deeper, but he just handed my sentri card back to me. what a putz.

i guess it was my lucky day, because traffic from and to was light.

damages, excluding gas. 100p for initial cab. 30p for collectivo. 100p for beers. 200p for room. 150p for food, extra drinks and tip. 1000p for her. 70p for cab. about $130 for a very pleasant afternoon.

This happened to me many times. One time the CBP guy asked me: "Where are you going to?" I answered: "Back home." He then raised his fucking voice: "Where is your home?" Now to save some breath I just say the city. They also asked me: "What did you do in Tijuana?" Is this their fucking business? I normally just say: "Talking a walk". Well, you got to understand these guys are doing some of the most boring jobs in the world, so show them some respect and appreciation and they also make your life a little easier.

They are full of arrogance and ignorance. Well maybe it is justified for them to behave like that since everyone in the world is still doing whatever it takes to seek El Sueno Americana. They would say: "If you can't put up with this shit, then stay where you are". This shit does not improve the US image, and it does not help either when Snowden exposed the hypocrisy on the part of the US government spying on its own people while accusing others of violating human rights by doing exactly the same. And now in the news, the random thrill killing of an Australian athlete by some bratty stupid and ignorant American teenagers will further tarnish the glory of the almighty nation on earth.

I think where respect is shown then respect is given. Majority of the times I've not had any issues with CBP at the crossing, some have even been humorous. Once in a while there will be an a-hole (men and women CBP) , you can tell by a judgmental look and snide comments, I don't say anything disrespectful back, only give brief responses.

You're right to have a sense of humor about it.

Hello guys, I like to walk down Avenida Revolucion just to look at the people and eat some authentic Mexican food. I have done this over the span of last 20 years, not frequently, but once in a while, sometimes years. I remember that 20 years ago, the minute you crossed the border, you could see horse pulled carts and smelled the horse shit. However, the streets in the tourist area at that time were filled with people, mostly tourists from USA. About 10 or more years back, the walk way down Revolucion was rebuilt with nice pedestrian amenities decorated with ancient Mayan and Aztec sculptures, chairs and fountains. Again the place was bustling with vendors and tourists. A few years back during the drug wars, police corruption and economic recession, the whole place became a ghost town. However as of now, it seems to me the economy is slowly reviving. I could see some tourists, some vendors, some life coming back. And to my surprise, the good old Tijuana zebra was still standing there munching on some corn leaves.

I remember the good old days when good old Chicago was the jewel of the crown. So much fun was had by so many at this club. Now it is Hong Kong, Hong Kong and Hong Kong. The taxi drivers would always ask me: "Hong Kong?" Well Hong Kong is not my cup of tea, too business like, too commercial and too phony. I would like to hear some analysis, experiences and perspectives from you guys out there regarding the overall economic picture of Tijuana and Mexico today and the bars etc. Thanks.

A few years back during the drug wars, police corruption and economic recession, the whole place became a ghost town.I think that one significant factor you didn't mention was the increased hassle of crossing the border back to the US after 9/11. Many people didn't have passports and the long waits deterred many. Now, people are getting used to the security state and have passports or passport cards (and soon enhanced driver's licenses) and they are trying to improve the border crossing with new lines, etc.

The economy is motoring along, fueled in no small part by manufacturing.

Between the recession and idiotic US Gov't policies after 9/11, Tijuana was in a world of hurt for a couple of years. But Tijuana has reinvented itself. The old days of a bazillion gringos partying until 4am along Revu are over and I don't think they're coming back any time soon. But in their place are loads of locals partying hearty on the weekends. The young Mexicanos have much more spending money than before, thanks to a better economy, and they don't mind spending it.

I think you'll see more of that. More local bars along Revu and other party areas. Tijuana has already become something of a foodie destination and I think that trend will continue. It seems that Tijuana doesn't need the tourist dollars as badly as in the past and I don't see loads of tourists coming back for several years.

As far as the bars in the zona go, Hong Kong will remain on top for a while. Americans tend to like everything spoon fed to them and "in your face." HK hit upon a winning formula so the bullshit there will continue for some time. IMHO, feminism has so emasculated the average American male that they are willing to put up with just about anything for pussy.

Recently I am reading a book by Shannon O' Neil named "Two nations, indivisible". It is simply fantastic. Mexico is the emerging and upcoming economy that will replace China in the next 5 to 10 years. With its ever growing young population, it holds tremendous potential and strength economically and politically that no super powers in the world would dare to ignore. Recently China's president visited Mexico before he visited USA. It never happened like this before. You got to see the "King of the USA" before you see anyone else in USA's backyard. But it just happened, like it or not.

Appreciate your input, very insightful.

Gracias, Tony

You're conflating many different kinds of girls. Let me help.

1. Alley Girls, aka Street Girls, aka Paraditas. These girls stand along Constitucion and the alley (Callejon Coahuila) and try to attract customers. The standard is roughly $20. This gets you 20 minutes in a shitty hotel (or Cascadas if you pick one on that side of the alley). Usually, it's just pull off the panties and you go at it for 20 minutes. Full nude, CBJ, etc, will cost more. If you like wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am style quickies, this is the best value.

2. Club Girls. These work in a club like HK, or Adelita, etc. The standard rate is $60 for a 1/2 hour session in the attached hotel. The girls may NOT go to other hotels. Lately, the complaint about HK is that the girls are insisting on anywhere from $80 to $120 for a half-hour session...As an older man, I'm picky about the providers I see. If she's not cute and hot, forget it. That's why I prefer the agency girls. Consistent quality and performance. But I don't like paying their normal hourly rates, so I typically go for the overnight special. 8 hours for between $300 and $400. As many pops as I want and since it not just a slam-bam, the girls typically give more of a GFE.

Arrived at delta parking in Otay mesa $7. I was driven to the otay border crossing. Walked through. Pushed the button. Green means go. So I went. Exchanged $80 to pesos. Walked across to other side of the border crossing and got a cab to the zona for $10. The wait by car and by foot was nothing compared to San ysidro.

Went to eat next to the place from adelitas. Food was ok. Saw a pretty girl with glasses sit down to eat. Later I saw her at Hk. Glasses with a tatoo on her side. Actually she was more appealing with close on. She had that naughty secreatary look because of the glasses. Went to HK and fucked a Couple of SG's.

It's 4:30 and I leave the zona. I catch a blue and white cab across from Chicago club. $12 to otay mesa after I rejected the initial $14. Miguel is the driver. Nice guy. It's about a 10 min longer drive than san ysidro but I waited a total of 8 min in line. 8 min on a Saturday at 4:45. Called the delta parking guy to pick me up in front of the bank where they tell you to be and 15 min later he arrives and I'm of to the airport. I might never go through the San ysidro border again unless I have a ready card. I probably paid an extra $10 in total for parking on the otay mesa side with cab fair but I saved so much time.

Thanks for the helpful post's and recommendations guys.

If you have Passport card, you can walk straight to the building. Inside building they have separate line for general public, ready lane and sentri. It took me only 10 min this morning (Sunday) around 5am to cross with my passport card. It used to be take 1hour.

They said new system started 2 weeks ago.

I found a way to rearrange my schedule today and made the trek to the border. I arrived on time, but then a bunch of phone calls came in at the last minute, so I was about 15 minutes late for my rendezvous.

I'd made an appointment with my ex-AB fave. We caught up over some coffee for about an hour, then she drove us off to La Premier. This seems to have rooms a bit smaller than La Mansion, but just as nice and a bit cheaper. All good except the gawdawful stench. Somebody went hog-ass wild with air freshener, or some heavily perfumed shit. It was hard to take.

Necking and petting evolved into mutual massage sessions. Mmmm. Munching on a clean and fresh-shaven pussy is never a bad thing. We both enjoyed that immensely, and she showed her appreciation with a BBBJ and some very creative uses of baby oil.

After we rested, discussed upcoming plans, showered and ordered some room service. The food here is pretty good, too. Some loafing, TV, cuddling, etc, ensued. Basically, a very nice time was had by all.

After about 3 hours it was time to split. She drove me to the border. At 6pm there was 0 line. Nobody. I note that the ready lane now extends all the way back to the end of the sidewalk where it curves up the hill to the taxi stand. About time.

Traffic was light going home. Got home tired and about 2, 000 pesos lighter. All in all, a great afternoon. Bad news was that I got a message from another fave telling me she misses me and when am I coming back. OMG. Too many women, too little time and too little money.

Appreciate all the info on the Tijuana forum.

Has any tried using hotel staff to pimp girls? Usually the concierge (if they have one) or porters know how to find girls and the price. Most take a cut and it will cost a bit more then finding your own.

Thanks,

I just wanted to add to the border crossing. It is amazing in the last 3 weeks, how much the CBP has shortened the line and the wait time. Now it seems to me that the sentri and global entry privileges are diminished or reduced to zero. Last Friday, at about 6 pm, no line, yesterday I came back around 5, like Phord said, zero line. What is going on? I can't believe it. Just a few weeks back, I waited 3 hours to cross around this time. It almost seems too good to be true.

When I got my sentri card a couple years ago, I was given the benifit of global entry by simply ticking a box on GOES. No "Global Entry" Card was required, I just used my passport at the airport.

A friend of mine just went for the Global Entry option and was told they could use it to get through SENTRI and even Nexus? Can anyone confirm this? They are now issuing a card that looks just like SEntri but says,"global Entry". The advantage I see over this is that the interview process is at your local airport instead of having to go to the border. If so, I might have to change my options when it comes time for renewal. Also, could I use my sentri card for nexus?

Thanks in advance.

ThanksUsually ATM is best rate. (today13. 3 peso for $1) If you have Bank of america account, you can use scotia ATM or Santander ATM for free. No transaction fee. No international convert fee. No fee at all. If you want to use the cambio place, there are couple combio before you cross the border. Next of Mcdonald is ok. Their rate is better than tijuana.

parked behind jack in box. walked across. i never push their customs green light button, no ever asked.

easier walk to taxi down the right sidewalk, instead of the guy waving you to the left path which is way long. it's the same path you come back on.

chicago club quiet but with some nice bodies on older faces. one ugly but incredible dancer was making real athletic moves on the pole and the ring. still a bit dark and hard to see the ladies sometimes unless you walk around.

adelita bar quality was so-so. honestly when you walk around the street you will see some better looking girls. they still don't speak much english, so use your spanish if any. anyone who pays more than 60, or 100 for an hour in this place, is getting ripped off. the girls i talked to fortunately did not rush their little drink and walk away. i am curious where is the old white guy who used to sit back with the girls in a gilligan hat.

hong kong, wild. some old chinese guy was covered with foam and getting a hand job on stage by two girls and about 10 guys watching. several girls got hands on or near my junk. a lot of nice bodies, with a mix of faces of course. the clients seem drunker and more aggressive than other bars, so don't be surprised if it's a bit hard to walk around without getting bumped.

las chavelas not busy, mix of women, very few slim, the rest plump to fat. all mexican music and quite a few drunk mexicans of different types. not many tourists but some. good place sometimes if you feel like dancing mex music. some of it is "corridos" music, which means stories of drug dealers killing people etc. i would not be showing off in this place. nice hotel they go up to, but costs a little more than others.

bar tropical, more mex music, similar to chavelas but smaller. girls seem a bit less chunky than at chavelas. atmosphere fairly friendly, girls available of course. both chavelas and tropical girls may not be so "pro" as the other clubs, so your experience may be more spontaneous.

bar gloria, a regular dance bar with girls. 100% mexican dance, but some of the ladies will still approach you. 2 beers for $3. 50 what a deal. you cannot give the second beer to a girl.

walking around the block, a mix of beautiful, ugly, scary and interesting. these girls are often thinner than club girls for whatever reasons. they will grab your shirt if you get near them. they appear to be self-employed rather than being any kind of slaves. the rooms are not as bad as you might fear. however, their 20-minute deal is shorter than a club girl's 30 minutes, so you either move faster or agree on more time. i understand some may have scars on their stomachs, etc.

crossed back again at 2:30 am, no wait. the drug dogs are at the counter and when they got aggressive toward a man, he was handcuffed on the spot before being taken away for a search.

heavy chp presence this week from the border all the way to los angeles. do not speed.

ThanksThe best places to exchange dollars are the cambios at the San Ysidro crossing. They tend to be much better than the ones in Tijuana. The one next to the American Parking entrance, the one in McDonalds and the little Mercado immediately on your right as U-turn left past McDonalds on your way to the turnstiles all have rates within a couple of centavos of each other.

Do you save money? If you pay $100 you paid $100. If you pay 1, 000 pesos you've paid $80 or less. $20 will buy a lot of drinks.

So, should you use pesos with the chicas? You tell me.

Thanks for the report a lot of good info. As far as the stoplight goes when you are entering Mexican customs, if you are not bringing luggage or carrying anything you will never be asked to push the button. I come in carrying a backpack about every couple weeks and I have never been asked to push the button. I like to time it so I'm coming through when there are a bunch of people going through carrying crap.

These girls are often thinner than club girls for whatever reasons.I have witnessed it first hand a bar girl sitting around averaging 20 of those fichia beers a night will tend to expand. And a street girl making CHI CHI sounds and grabbing your arm all night tend to stay the same size.

And Keg and Tom J as far as football goes ahhh my favorite time of year nothing like hitting Caliente and then finding a place to watch some football surronded by all the pleasures the Zona Norte has to offer. I should be down Saturday afternoon for the first full day of College football. If anyone else enjoys the same things and you are around hit me up.

So, should you use pesos with the chicas? You tell me.That's all I needed to hear. I've never used pesos for the girls, but lets make sure I understand the pricing. I usually get the street girls for $20 + $5 room +$1 for the clean up dude. Not bad for $26 bucks. When I pay in Pesos its going to be $200 girl + $80 for the room and clean up? Total $280? Sounds good to me!

Usually ATM is best rate. (today13. 3 peso for $1) If you have Bank of america account, you can use scotia ATM or Santander ATM for free. No transaction fee. No international convert fee. No fee at all. If you want to use the cambio place, there are couple combio before you cross the border. Next of Mcdonald is ok. Their rate is better than tijuana.I am spending 4 nights over in about 3 weeks and wondered if anyone knows of any bank's ATM's that offer dollar and / or peso withdrawal? Seems like a pain to cross back over (even with the shorter lines) just to go to an ATM and cross right back over. Especially considering it will require a taxi to and from the border back to the hotel. If I withdraw pesos, then I lose on the transaction fee, international fee, and peso / dollar exchange rate. Unfortunately my timing means that I will have a deposit hit my account on a Friday and would like to access those funds for play but will be in country on the Wednesday before.

Thanks for any help.

Tengo pesos. Dos ciento pesos? Or words to that effect. If she asks for dollars you can't just hand over pesos. You have to negotiate in pesos from the get.

Hotels like Cascadas and Coahuila will want dollars or the peso equivalent, so you may not save much. The smaller $5 hotels will usually take 50 pesos.

10 peso tip for the cleanup boy is fine

I'd made an appointment with my ex-AB fave. We caught up over some coffee for about an hour, then she drove us off to La Premier. This seems to have rooms a bit smaller than La Mansion, but just as nice.Motel Premier is good. They have some special rooms, that are worth for long stays, or multiple parties.

Those special rooms can go up to 200 300 dls, but are totally worth it. Several areas, inmense jacuzzi, and some even have it's own indoor swimming pool.

Ask next time for "Marrakesh","Tutankamon","Rincon de Pancho", and the simpliest."Bali".

Indoor pools are awesome!

Thanks in advance.Received my Global Entry Card 30 days ago and have used it three times already coming back across the border in the SENTRI line. If you do any air travel, Global Entry also qualifies you for using the upcoming TSA Precheck. No need to remove your shoes or laptop in 40+ airports (including San Diego).

I am looking to take some video. I have never been to Tijuana before but have been many other places. I am wondering if the price was right how willing are the girls to be filmed? Is this illegal to do in Mexico? Are there laws against doing this? Any information is appreciated.

Assuming you've arrived via some other mode of transport (burro, perhaps? :D ) , you can just walk up to any of these hotels and get a room. They will hold an ID unless you're driving a car. Payment will be in advance.

BTW, there is a similar one within walking distance of the zona. I can't remember the name but somebody here will. It's about 3 blocks west of Ninos Heroes on Calle Primero, south side of the street. It's not as nice as Premier or Mansion. But it's clean and the guard is friendly.

Hey Phordphan I saw a couple in Las Pulgas on Saturday night. Seemed to fit your M O. Gringo with a better than girl next door type (not slutty) wearing striped pants. Drinks, dancing, flowers and that wonderful 1 block walk back to Ticuan at around 3 a. M. You know the walk where your mind is focused on what lies ahead. That hotel looks good on their website. Just wondering how much they charge. I will check on that hotel next weekend. Thank you for the info.$30 for a single I believe and maybe up to $40 for a double. They showed me an upstairs suite for $50 that had a couch. What I like about this place is they have HEAT AND AC. Something hotel owners don't consider as being a selling point!

Not all is rosey though. I've read reviews that security measures are a little laxed. Ie." Hi I am here to visit mike" " Sure here is his key". Make sure your stuff is locked up and give specific instructions to the desk to only let YOU in and nobody else.

HOLD ON TO YOUR RECEIPT. That was another issue that comes up with this place. Always have proof of your dates and payment. Maybe pay as you go to avoid a problem.

I was with Rocky the Flying Squirrel (short TR to follow when I have a few minutes). But at 3am we were in the club down Revu, something like Downtown, or Your Town, or something like that. They advertise "Top 40" and 150 peso cubetas (bullshit, BTW). When the joint closed they told everybody we were invited to go upstairs for the after-hours club that would be going until 7 or 8am. I hit the wall about 5.

In my case, what lay ahead was some "drunk food," and hoping we'd get back to the room before one of us passed out or puked.

The post from Hugotheman about possible Phorphan sighting got me thinking about an experience I once had. Just curious if anyone else has seen someone they know in the zona, when neither of you care to be seen by the other.

I once walked into a bar and thought I recognized an associate from work, and I froze, I thought for a moment that "it's over, I'm busted". Fortunately for me, it was only someone who bore a very similar resemblance, and wasn't the person I thought it was. Upon this relief I quickly ordered a shot of tequila to celebrate dodging a bullet.

Running into fellow mongers is always fun, but being seen by someone you'd rather not see you is a bummer, anyone else have it happen to you?

I was looking at my old posts and realized that I didn't post anything significant for my last 2 trips to the zona. I just finished a 7 day trip and thought I'd post too many of my random thoughts.

Once again, I found the overall quality of the bar girls to be best at the same places as in past visits. Hong Kong was my favorite followed by AB, then LC, and then Chicago. I went arriba with 4 girls from HK and 1 from each of the other places. I didn't see anything I liked at the other bars.

I didn't see anything visually different with the street girls during this trip. I only sampled two street girls this trip and I selected them partly based on member comments about Constitution girls performing better than alley girls. Based on my experience this trip and memory of past trips, I think I agree with that assessment.

I had 2 escorts. One was an independent that was recommended by a friend, she proved disappointing. The other was a spinner from cumintj, she turned out to be exceptional and I will repeat. I'll not post her name, but feel free to send me a PM if you are interested in who she is.

I bought my first Hong Kong VIP card and it seems to be a good value. At a minimum it is worth $8 per visit, which includes the first drink plus a ride to the border (or to Ticuan). When you show your card at Cascadas you need to push the extended stay perk. I apparently didn't do that properly my first visit and the knock came after only a short time. After that I made it clear that I didn't want to hear a knock for 45 minutes. That extended stay is important to me because the normal time isn't enough for a first shower, sex, and a second shower. I didn't take advantage of the other perks, such as border pick up or the personal waiter (like they don't have enough waiters already).

One problem with the VIP card is they check your ID, which forces you to register with your real name. That wasn't a problem until about the 5th visit when I got my free beer and the customer service agent wrote my real name on my card and put a piece of clear tape over it. Still not a problem until I checked into Cascadas and the girl looked at my card and realized that I was using a fake name every time I've seen her over the last 1. 5 years. She gave me some shit over that but I really don't care.

The Cascadas towel issue appears to be real. Sometimes there was one towel, sometimes two. When extra towels were needed the naked girl would crack the door open and scream for another towel (or soap or whatever) and within a minute another towel would be passed throught door.

I had read about increased girl prices at Hong Kong. Personally, I didn't experience higher prices than during my February through May visits. Most girls asked for $80 and took $60 or $70 without problem. My personal favorite asked for $60 and I happily agreed, perhaps that is why I took her upstairs twice.

One time I asked a HK waiter for my favorite girl, just then I spotted her sitting with a local man. The waiter said he would get her and I told him not to disturb her. He did it anyway and within 20 seconds she left the other man and came to me for a trip arriba. Three things were interesting about this. First, the waiter disregarded what I said. Second, the girl actually tipped the waiter as we went out the door. Third, the girl told me that this particular man bought her one drink the prior day and he only had a single dollar in his pocket this day. I'm wondering why in the world a man would go to Hong Kong with only $1 in his pocket?

I made 4 crossings and the border was empty 3 times, my new Global Entry card saved me no time at all on those crossings. Twice the agent scanned my GE card and said absolutely nothing at all. But for one crossing the line looked to be about 1. 5 hours long, I walked by everbody and right up to the agent with no delay at all. That was the only time I had any significant questions including what I'm bringing back (nothing) and why I went to Tijuana. I answered night life, food, dog track, and shopping. After I said shopping I added that I didn't buy anything. He then seemed a little concerned and asked me how I got the global entry card, perhaps trying to verify that I got it legally. No more questions.

If you have Global Entry you will have a choice of either the Ready Lane or the Senti Lane and you won't be able to see which line is shorter. As it turns out, the Sentri lane was much shorter than the Ready Lane.

I spent my nights at Ticuan, which has always been good. I still haven't figured out how to effectively use those air conditioning units. I even called the front desk and had someone come to my room and set the thermostat to 23C (74F) ; the darn thing kept blowing out cold air until about 4 am when I finally hit the reset button to turn it off completely. The next morning my room was too warm and I couldn't get the AC turned back on. My next rooms seemed to be set at a comfortable temperature so I didn't have to mess with it.

Until this trip I always had good food at the Ticuan restaurant. This time the food was about the same as I would expect at a Denny's. There are too many other good places to eat and I doubt I'll be eating at Ticuan again.

I did a personal survey of 4 taco carts and 2 taco restaurants. My personal favorite is Los Tacos at the corner of Calle Coahuila and Ninos Heroes. They charge a little more money than the carts but they make their own tortillas and they fill them a little fuller with better stuff. IMHO.

One questions for those more experienced. What is the deal with the zebra painted donkeys? They seem to be about 2 per block along Revolution.

I tried to meet with two forum members, that didn't work. Next visit I need to do a better job of coordinating times and places.

Sorry for the length of this report. I just started writing and this is where it finished.

Then, last Saturday afternoon I spotted one of those traveling businessmen in Hong Kong. Since neither of us are married and we are not in a boss-subordinate relationship, I walked right up to him and said "hello" as if we met in an Outback Steakhouse. It didn't bother me, but he seemed to be up tight about it and he made an excuse and left within a few minutes of meeting. It will be interesting what happens the next time we are in a business meeting together.

KegSeveral years ago I was drunk and watching a football game inside Bar Tropical. And a familiar face walked by, he then stopped and came over to me, and said hey what are you doing here. Due to my drunkin state I couldn't place who it was other than it was definitely someone I knew. After him saying a what are you doing here and me saying a what are you doing here he was on his way. It wasn't until a few months later I realized it was one of my customers. The next time I saw him he brought up our encounter when no one was around to listen in. We compared notes and bonded over the fact we shared the same interests.

So I don't see where running into someone in the zona would be a problem, because you are both in the same boat. Now take a scenario where you are out on Revolution taking your favorite for a bite to eat and you run into a family you may know who is out for a day in Tijuana shopping and getting photographed on a striped burro. That could present a problem.

SENTRI line is always shorter, but ever since the put in the Ready Lane at SY, and extended the two lines all the way around the corner, both have been extremely short. In fact, the last few times, including this last Sunday at 3:00pm, there were 0 people in either line. Maybe they finally got their shit together concerning crossing.

The A / C units in Ticuan used to work fine, when the place was new. But, an with many things in Mexico, continuing maintenance is not a high priority. I can't think of any that work, at least in any of the rooms I've been in for the last several months. The temperature setting gizmo doesn't work and often the on / off button doesn't work, either. I usually have to turn it on and off via the reset button. PITA. I'm considering Pueblo Amigo for my next tryst.

The donkeys have been a Tijuana fixture for decades. I know a guy who is my age. He has a black and white pic of himself as a little kid, with his parents, on those crazy striped burros. A few years ago, while walking down the street with an old fave, she got me in a headlock and insisted we take a photo together on that stupid donkey. No idea how it started, but they're so much a part of Tijuana now I'd almost hate to see them go.

I seem to remember once reading that we should not wear shorts because you will stand out as looking different from others in the zona. Though I can't find that post now, I assumed it to be good guidance and I always wore long pants.

Well, last week was so hot that I finally wore shorts for the first time in Hong Kong and the other bars. I had so many girls' toes and fingers up my shorts that it was a great experience, especially when I wore very baggy shorts. You will recognize me as the guy who is wearing baggy shorts even on the coldest days of January.

As far as the AC at the Ticuan in the begining I always needed help from the bellman. But now I have it figured out I can get that room ice cold. Just watch out for the AC in room 601 a couple times in the middle of the night it started spitting out water and little pieces of ice.

I enjoyed your detailed report. It is always helpful to learn from the many experiences here on the forum. With regard to the fellow with a dollar, there are many possible explanations: (a) he already used up his party money; (be) he keeps his funds available in the ATM; (see) he is truly poor or at least saying as much to the girl; (the) or possibly he is just stopping by for a visit and not intending to party at the moment.

I think I've been in most of those categories one time or another. Since I live in San Diego, I have had to go to Tijuana for business not related to the zona. Even if partying is not on my agenda for that day, I may stop by a club on the way home for a couple of drinks and conversation. There are many chicas in the zona and many opportunities that may follow upon a return visit.

But I think the point is that certain clothing isn't worn by certain people in certain parts of the world. In the case of Mexico, adult men don't wear shorts. Those are reserved for kids. Obviously the beach is an exception. The object isn't to look like a local but to not look like a dork or uncouth rube. :D

I set up a date with Rocky the Flying Squirrel on Saturday last. As usual, between delays and traffic I was late. It was hot. I parked in the UETA, walked across that fucking bridge, got to the other side and realized I'd forgotten some stuff in the car. Damn! Walked back across the fucking bridge, got my stuff, back again. I hate that bridge. I was wringing wet by the time I go to the hotel. :(

I noticed that the chiselers at the cambios in SY had dropped their exchange rates about 10 centavos, to 12. 4x. I'm sure this was due to the holiday. Conversely, the cambios in Tijuana had raised their rates about 20 centavos, bringing them up to 12. 4x. So, there was no need to wait in the lines at McDonalds. Too bad I didn't know then what I know now.

Ms. R showed up and we retired to the room for some mutual oil massage and some bedroom antics. Nothing kinky to report, so I won't bore everybody even more with the details. After she dressed for the evening and we hit the streets.

First stop was Chiki Jai. It's diagonally (no, not Diagon Alley) opposite the Ticuan / Las Pulgas corner for those of you who've never been. Small joint serving Spanish tapas. It's been there since 1947. I suspect Caesar's tapas bar has nabbed a lot of their business, but they are still very good. The tortilla espanola is a bit better than Caesar's, the wine pours are a bit heavier and the mushrooms in garlic are superb. Their sangria isn't too bad, either. I highly recommend the place and the service is top notch.

After horking down cheese, mushrooms, sausage, wine, bread it was time to hit the dog races. I've not been there in years. It's still worth a look and it's an amusing evening's entertainment. 10 races last about 3 hours, so it's not an all day thing like horses. I'm just as adept at picking winners as ever. :) I'm really good at picking 2 of the top 3. Unfortunately, that third one is always in the win or place slot. So, as usual, I walked away with a net deficit. Ms. R had never been. Her favorite activity there was slamming down cervezas and posting pix to Facebook.

Next stop, Sinatra's Bar, at the left hand of Abe Lincoln. Still a nice joint and the waiter even remembered me and my name. They make a relatively good mojito so we had a few. The music tends to be heavy on vocals, accompanied by piano. This time it was a man, and he alternated between Spanish sets and English sets. I wonder if there was a board member there that night? There was a guy, probably nearing 60, with a super hot flaquita about 1/3 of his age. They were toasting with champagne glasses and looking into each other's eyes. She walked past on the way to the ladies room and Ms. R commented on the girl's state of sobriety. :D In any case, if this was a board member, congrats and where did you find her? It takes balls to go around in public with a girls who looks like your granddaughter. I'm envious. :)

We'd had enough tranquility, so it was time for something more exciting. Off to Calle sexta. Ms. R likes La Ferreteria for their Rock en Espanol band. However, they had a power failure so everybody (staff and patrons) had vacated to Shots Factory across the street. Man, what a crowd. The joint was jumpin'. After a couple of drinks there we pushed on.

Next stop was around the corner, at the place that advertises "Top 40." Can't remember the name, but it has "City" or "Town" in it. It's hotter than blazes and crowded. Cool. So, grabbed a table, ordered up a cubeta and hit the dance floor. One cubeta and one more beer later and it was closing time, which I think was around 3? Memory is fuzzy. On the way out a waiter nabbed us and told us we could go upstairs to the after-hours joint and hang out until 7 or 8. We were both in no condition to so do, therefore we did just that. :D

It was fairly busy upstairs. Two DJs playing a bunch of trance crap. Not my cup of tea. Some kids sparked up near the bathrooms, nobody objected. After a beer it was approaching 5:00 and I was hitting the wall. Not too drunk, but tired. Ms. R was fitshaced. After a couple of tacos varios outside the hotel we found our way to the room and collapsed. She did remember to ask for some money before falling asleep. I forked over what I had allocated. It may not have been sufficient, as she made me promise to buy her a cell phone the next day. (Relax, they're under $30 at Oxxo). She needed one, as her other was trashed.

The pisser of the whole thing is that I couldn't sleep. Rocky snored like a lumberjack while I tossed and turned. The stupid-ass on-or-off-and-nothing-in-between air conditioner didn't help matters.

We finally pried ourselves out of bed in time to get ready before checkout. I wasn't in much shape for morning nookie, but was thinking BJ. But next thing I knew, Rocky made a dash for the bathroom. I guess she had to call some guy named Earl. Pobrecita. I guess that BJ was out of the question.

After some coffee we hit the Oxxo and then Caesar's for lunch. Caesar salad and some of the very best Flan I've ever had. Sadly, it's approaching 3:00 and I have to split. Traffic to the border seemed a bit heavier than normal, but there was a very short regular line and nobody in the Ready or SENTRI lanes.

All in all, a nice trip. Kind of short on sex, but long on fun. She's after me for a repeat. Ahh, so many women, so little money.

Thanks for another chapter of Phordphan does Tijuana. I really enjoy reading about all the things Iam missing as far as Tijuana nightlife goes. If I could only get out of that rut of Las Pulgas followed by the hot dog stand on the way to the room.

I can't picture where Chiki Jai is even though I spend alot of time on the corner of 8th & Rev. Is it by the massage and Kareokee place? Anyway you left my mouth watering for those mushrooms in garlic.

Last Sunday the day was spent taking the make believe GF and family to the movies. $20 to get in $38 dollars at the refreshment stand followed by $56 at Peter Piper Pizza = $114. Hot young pussy in HK $60 t0 $70 I probably need an examinacion por de cabeza.

Some of my chicas refuse to go there because of the crowds.

My bad on Chiki Jai. It's not diagonally opposite the Ticuan corner. It's on the NE corner of 7th and Revu. Definitely check it out. An old fave (Elena or Helena for you old hands who may remember) turned me on to it a few years back.

I hear you on the head examination thing. But it makes things more interesting. But how many people did you take to the movies? $114? Wow!

Well, it's been a while since I ventured down south. First, my favorita went back home during the holidays and it looks like she will stay there. Good for her.

Second, I went to my favorite playground, Brazil in June and before I go back down south, I needed to reaclimate myself. Tijuana is good, but it's not Brazil. LOL.

I walked from the parking lot to the zona. Good news is, while walking in I noticed there was no line going into the customs building. This was around 14:30. Actually the regular line was very shot when I went home around 21:30. I have the global entry so except for the fact, the kiosk for the sentri line was down, I had to go over to the ready line and wait for the three people in front of me. So whatever adjustments they made, it seems to be working.

I hit the regular clubs which I will write about in their threads. I also went into El Fracaso which someone had mentions a while back, and Rio Verde which I went to a couple of years back.

I can't say much about El Fracaso because when I went in around 19:00, the temperature inside the club must have been around 100 degrees! Yesterday was a nice day so I never expected any club to be that hot inside. There didn't seem to be any vents because the air didn't circulate at all. So I walked in, felt the heat and walked out. Couldn't really tell if there was anything worth my time inside. I guess I'll try it another day.

Then I cross the street to Rio Verde. I only pulled a girl from there one time, but it was a good experience. I haven't been back here since they closed it for a while.

It still caters to the local crowd but it seem most of the waiters speak English. When I say local crowd, the chicas are mostly on the larger size. Before, you could find a least a couple of smaller girls, but not today. Had one water to see if anything else would come in, but nothing new came in so I left.

Always nice to read your posts. They are quite informative and enjoyable. Thanks. I am guessing that your favorita is Angelita from Tropical, the little "fireball" you dated every Sunday for a while back? If so, she left the Zona for good? I wish her the best. Welcome come back again.

I will be heading down to Tijuana Sunday, spending the day watching football in the Zona and probably hitting a dance club at night. Probably stick around on Monday and see what the holiday is like in Tijuana. Just curious if anyone has been done there for Independence day what to expect. I imagine the clubs on 6 th will be busy on Sunday night as if it was a Friday or Saturday. If anyone has been down for the holiday please share.

I can't say that anymore people than usual weekend crowds in the zona clubs like AB or HK, but certainly car loads of people driving the streets honking horns and waiving flags. As most on here know, the summer weekend sausage-fest in the clubs happen all on their own, but you'll notice more than usual out on the streets celebrating. Actually, this is making me think about heading down for evening on Monday 16th.

Hey guys I'll be heading out to Tijuana after a long wait. Will be out there for 3 days. Have the time and considered 4 days but I am scared to run low on funds. I always say I can control the spending but once I am there it all adds up! The girls, the drinks, the escorts, the food and ahhhh yes. The shots of Tequila! I will be there a Thursday through Saturday night. I heard Sundays are good but I'd rather no over do it.

Since I only go a few times a year I like to really enjoy it and not hold back "for another day" as that will be many months from now. However, I suppose I can stay in the hotel and watch Football on Sunday.

In any case, just wanted some input from you guys as to any experience at New Body. I have heard mixed reviews of the place and just wanted a heads up. I really want to check it out and probably will but just wanted to see if anyone had been there and the experience.

I really like the escort and massage scene. I like to mix things up while in Tijuana. Plus I like the laid back atmosphere.

So for all you occasional mongers what do you budget for a 3 day trip? Is it hundreds? Thousand, thousands? I know we are all different but I'd imagine there is a somewhat general consensus.

Hey SlickVick, not sure if your dates are flexible, but seeing as how you mentioned Tequila you might want to be in Tijuana during the Tequila festival. This year the dates are Oct. 9.13 th. Great food, entertainment, and plenty of samples. However if you can't adjust your schedule, keep it in mind for next year.

Just a quick note. Last week I hooked up with my CL-sourced ex-AB fave, we'll call her Miss Y.

Per usual, after a chat over coffee we headed to La Premier. After we got into the room she came zipping out of the bedroom and asked, in a rather panicked voice, if I had seen her iPhone. Nope, last time I saw it was at the coffee shop. Seems she had it out of her purse in the cab for some reason and dropped it.

Well, I tried to calm her down, we searched high and low and came to the above conclusion. After a bit I asked her to call the taxi company. She did, and spoke to the dispatcher, who wasn't a lot of help. She asked him to make a broadcast (this particular Libre had a radio and the cabbie was using it during our trip). He told her he had a thousand cabs and there was no way to find the one. She told him yes, but you don't have a thousand that just dropped off two people at La Premier 10 minutes ago. But he wasn't too cooperative. So, I proceeded to call the phone about a bazillion times, hoping somebody would pick up, but no dice.

After more calming down and a massage, she was feeling a bit better. Then the phone rang. It was the front desk asking us if we'd called a cab because there was a cab there looking for us. We told them to send him in. She ran down and, lo and behold, there was the cabbie with her iPhone. He'd found it in the back seat and radioed into the dispatcher. Fortunately, the dispatcher remembered her call and told him that the owner was at La Premier.

Needless to say, Ms. Y was overjoyed. So happy, in fact, that she insisted I tip the guy 200 pesos. Methinks I got the shitty end of that deal! But not to worry, I only had so much money so I just took it out of what I would normally have given her. :)

But all was well, and the next few hours were a lot of fun.

Anyway, occasionally you meet an honest soul in Tijuana.

Nice Story! I hate when people bash mexico.I do agree with what Artisttyp says about the people you will meet in Tijuana. However most of us will never see this unless you do venture outside of Zona Norte. Seeing as how this is a mongering board many of us will travel to Tijuana and only be exposed to the Zona, where many Ratero's set up shop, and the goal of most people you run into is to seperate you from your money.

Over the last year I have spent a lot of time outside the Zona and have met many good honest hard working people. And even though some of them may be at a financial disadvantage that does not stop them from being generous.

A recenty display of honesty I witnessed, was when my amiga's aunt was visiting and she went to use her cell phone and realized it was missing. She became frantic and then realized the pocket the phone was in had a big hole. It could have fallen out anywhere we tried retracing her route with no luck. We then tried calling the phone and a lady answered. She was more than happy to set up a meeting place to retrieve the phone. There was no ransom demand, the lady was willing to go out of her way to make sure the phone was returned. When the phone was returned the lady was even hesitant about excepting a reward. But the aunt insisted. I did find it a bit funny when my amiga said it would be best if I stayed out of site during the exchange. Her belief was if the person returning the phone saw a gringo with them they might think AHHHHH money, and then would try to extort them for money to get the phone back. I just kind of laughed and stayed in the background.

Thanks to Phordphan for his post about this place, I finally tried it this week.

I've walked past it on the opposite side of the street countless times. Just in the habit of turning up Revo from Ticuan, I always seem to stay on that side of the street out of habit. Chiki Jai is at the corner of 7th and Revolucion.

Really enjoyed the side order of the Chorizo and Tortilla Espanola, salad, Paella, and Sangria.

Bummer I couldn't stick around for more Paella on Sunday. Looking forward to reading your festival review Tomjackin.

Enjoy.

P. S. The tasty Scorpion was an off-menu dessert selection much later.

The last time I crossed back to the USA I handed the CBP officer my passport he scanned it, and then said " I'am afarid I'am going to have to deny you entry". Keeping a straight face he watched as my heart skipped a beat, he then focused on my hat and said it appears your a Packer fan. It turns out he was a Bears fan with a sense of humor. He then sent me on my way, and we both had a smile on our faces.

So many times crossing I have dealt with officers who treat you like you are the scum of the earth it was rather enjoyable dealing with a CBP officer with a sense of humor. Not sure if any of you have noticed the same thing, but the worst officers to deal with seem to be females. They seem to have a chip on their shoulder.

Calling the Tijuana police monkeys is a complete insult to the real monkeys. So I must apologize to the real monkeys, because they have more integrity than the Tijuana police! This is the second time this year being stopped and searched by these fucking clowns. Oops, sorry, clowns have more integrity than the Tijuana police as well!

I was headed to Nikki's around midnight when I heard two people yelling at me. This was about 100 feet from Nikki's door. There were other people on the sidewalk so I thought they were yelling at them. Nope, they were yelling at this old, fat, hairy Gringo! They called me over and had me spread eagle against their truck. They asked me where I was going and I told them Nikki's. They asked where was Nikki's and I pointed and politely said,"Right there." They did not seem to care.

The search started. The cocksucker, oops, sorry, cocksuckers have more integrity than the Tijuana police as well! He took the stuff out of each pocket and placed the items on the bumper of the truck. I had no idea what was going on behind me when he removed he pesos out of my left pocket. I did not know how much pesos I had on me, so I will never know if some money was taken or not. He said he was searching for drugs.

Now, for those of you that have met me, you know I look like the perfect drug dealer / addict! There is NO fucking excuse for this bullshit! Larry will tell you, when I went into Nikki's I was fucking furious! I stand my original statement. There are many reasons why tourism is dead in Baja California, but by far, it is because of these fucking so called police officers!

Hopefully no monkeys, clowns, or cocksuckers were offended by this post.

Hopefully no monkeys, clowns, or cocksuckers were offended by this post.Yes, it is indeed infuriating. Unfortunately, the MX fuzz don't need probably cause, or anything else, to jack you up. If you avoid the Zona Norte (like that's possible!) the odds of getting jacked up tend to decline substantially.

An old fave, who no longer lives in Tijuana, gave me her tip for avoiding rip-offs. When the cop stops you, place your money in your hand and show them that it's simply money. But keep in in your hand as they frisk you. I've not had to do that since they stopped jacking up tourists at the taxi drop-off point. But it's a good trick to keep in the back of your mind.

I suspect the cocksucking monkeys didn't take much or you'd have noticed that your bankroll was substantially lighter. Either way, it's still an experience that will leave one extremely pissed off for the rest of the evening. I hope you had a good BBBJ to take your mind off of it.

Thanks for the info. I now HK and others are better but I wanted to check this out since it seems to be more laid back. I was also thinking this could be a good place to catch the Football games.

How are drink prices? They have a bar downstairs. You can drink, watch sports game and also buy drink for the girls working at massage. I am not sure how much is the drink but it will be same like regular bar.

Calling the Tijuana police monkeys is a complete insult to the real monkeys. So I must apologize to the real monkeys, because they have more integrity than the Tijuana police! This is the second time this year being stopped and searched by these fucking clowns. Oops, sorry, clowns have more integrity than the Tijuana police as well!I was stopped twice recently by them, one time across the street from Hotel Nilo, the other time a few days ago on the bridge across the Tijuana river. The first time was a female police officer. She stopped me and asked me to take off my hat and sunglasses and demanded my ID. She then let me go with no further hassles. The second time was a few days ago as I was walking towards the arch on the bridge. Two male police officers yelled at me after I walked past them. They first asked me if I spoke Spanish, I said: "Un poco". Then they tested my Spanish by asking: "¿Por qué estás aquí en Tijuana?" I answered: "Mi amigo (Guitarfreak) tiene una sala de masage aquí why voy a tener un masage alli." Then one of the guys switched to English (pretty fluent) : "Do you have drugs on you?" Answer: "No." Then they told me to roll up my sleeves to check for needle spots. I did. And they found nada and let me go.

I only restarted walking to and from la zona recently since it is a nice walk. But now I have a reason to take the taxi again.

Years ago, I went through exactly what Tomjackin went through with one difference, that is the cops planted a tiny bag of white stuff in my wallet and then gave me an option to settle it privately or go to Tijuana jail. They demanded $600 "to get my name out of their system" so I would not be arrested if I went back again. If I did not give them the money, my name would remain in their system and each time I went back, I would be arrested by Tijuana's finest.

I told them that I had a Mexican friend living in Tijuana and I had her number and would like to call her to get the money. But they said "No." "You must go back to SD, get your money and come back. If you do not come back within 1 hour, we will arrest you when we see you again and put you in jail. However if you do come back within 1 hour with the money as you promised, we will provide you with protection each time you come to Tijuana." One of them spoke very fluent English. They told me all this bullshit while cruising the Tijuana street for over 1 hour, going through some rough and dark areas to try to scare me". As you would imagine, the story ended with me not returning with the money.

One thing I can summarize out of this is that they do not want you to contact any friends in Tijuana because that would expose their corruption. Another thing is that they do not dare to scam you if you speak some Spanish and have friends locally. Therefore learn your Spanish and make some local friends like Guitarfreak. LOL.

One big difference now is that they are not planting drugs on you. But with the recent frequent encounters with the TJPD, it seems to me that it is heading that way again. So fellows, keep your guard on and stay safe.

At that time, my Spanish was next to zero. After I agreed to come back to SD to get them the money, they drove me to la linea, told me where exactly they would be waiting for me and then dropped me off. This happened before Presidente Felipe Calderóand sent the federal troops to disarm and clean up the TJPD and the streets. But IMHO, as the economy is recovering here States side, the TJPD is recovering as well. So be careful out there.

I don't know when or where you read that it is not safe to walk at anytime. The walk has gotten longer since with the new south bound pedestrian crossing but it is safe during daylight. Some of the senior bros here in the board were reporting the policia catching you while walking around, and I also read from older posts about muggings in the Zona. This gave me an impression to take a taxi from border to Cascada, and use chicas only in HK / Adelita and may be chicas standing right next door and not to venture any where else in the Zona or near by.

Are you saying it is safe to walk from the Zona to Aztec or Viva Mex. Would it be safe to walk around 10pm. I understand shit can happen any where in the world at any time and we need to be watchful, but is it generally safe to walk.

ChrisSeems like they are starting to step up the stops and searches of foreign tourists at the zona lately. In the last few years after the "clean up", you could see them arresting locals all the time, but rarely bothering any tourists. However recently with my own experience of being stopped twice and the similar experiences from others on this board, I can see that the TJPD is venturing back to the old path again. Fortunately, there are no shakedowns reported, but it could be heading that way pretty soon. Exercise caution fellows.

I checked in the Ticuan around 3 on Friday and all was good. Did a couple of shots in the hotel (brought my own bottle) and it was off to HK. Chris Long was in town and we met up at HK and we played the,"Where are you heading next?" guessing game, which he won by the way. His schedule is way more extensive than mine; I was humbled. We ran through LC and I did not see my massage girl, so we moved over to BT. I seen a girl that I liked, so I bought her a couple of beers. Chris headed out the door on the hunt.

We met up again at Gloria and one of my favorite girls just got off the dance floor and was headed my way. I gave her $40 bucks for the barfine, told her to change her clothes, and that I would be back in 30 minutes because Chris and I were headed to CC for a bit. Well, when we returned she was nowhere to be found. I asked the manager if she paid the barfine and he said no and did not know where she went. He found out from the doorman that she said she was going to put minutes on her phone.

Meanwhile, I was hanging with an older chunky mesera that I promised that I would fuck her sometime in the near future. Well, Chris said it was destiny that my girl left and the mesera was available. I asked the manager if I had to pay $40 more dollars and he said yes. But if and when my girl returned, he would get the money from her and return it to me. It sounded fair enough to me.

I asked the manager what would happen if the girl returned without the money. He said he would not allow her to work until she paid back the money. I've known this girl for a couple of years and it was very strange that it happened. Meanwhile the mesera was a blast in the room so I ended up happy anyway. The other girl did not come to work the following night; who knows what happened with her.

Saturday afternoon, Sal and wife came to the hotel for drinks, For some reason, there were cops all around the Ticuan; street, entrance, and lobby. Sal went to check on what was happening and when returned, he said,"Let's get the fuck out of here!" I asked him why and he said the Chief of Police was in the hotel and the mafia wants his fucking head. I told him we should sit tight and see what happens. And if there was gun fire, I would hide behind him! He didn't seem amused whatsoever.

My favorite girl in Mexico showed up on time and we chatted with Sal and wife for a bit, then it was up to the room. She also likes Tequila so the bar provided us with an ample supply of lime and salt. My girl's mother and daughters were meeting us at the hotel in a couple of hours, so we got busy. Hell, we were passed out when her phone kept going off. It was her mother in the lobby and she had no money for the taxi; this rushed things up a bit.

This was the first time meeting the family, but I was okay with it. The daughters gave me big hugs and kisses like they knew me for years. I hired a taxi for a chunk of the evening for 300 pesos. First stop was El Rodeo, but not the one in La Mesa, the closer one. A great restaurant with really good food. The family enjoyed the place as well. The older daughter asked me if we could go somewhere next, but I was not sure what she said; but still agreed.

We ended up at some big mall with lots of soccer fields next to the place. We walked into this inner / outer amusement area. I bought the girls some tickets and they had a blast. I asked my girl where was the bar, and she just laughed walked away; I guess that meant there wasn't a bar close by? We spent over an hour there and then headed to drop them off in the ghetto. The taxi driver kept mumbling "dangerous" in Spanish as he blew through every stop sign and red light on the way.

I headed back to HK and looked for Chris, and a couple of my lady buddies said he was looking for me as well; never found him. After a stop at CC, BT, and Gloria, I was headed to Nikki's where the wonderful police experience happened. But I ranted enough about that, so won't anymore in this TR.

After Nikki's, I ran like hell to Malquerida. I'm sitting at the bar and my beautiful x-wife comes over and sits on the next barstool on my left. And to my right is my beautiful future wife. Yep, I buy beers from the bartender. So, I'm telling one of my stories in Spanish to my future wife. And when I tell a story in Spanish, it takes all my concentration and effort to complete the story. Meanwhile, my x-wife finishes her three beers; no surprise there.

On my left shoulder, I have this fat fucking mesero poking me and asking to open up another beer for the x-wife. I try to be polite and said no thank you. I try to continue my story, and the fat fuck continues poking me on the shoulder. I was still pissed about Tijuana finest police force. I turn around, grabbed the bottle off the bar, called the bartender over, handed it to the bartender and asked him to change it for a new beer. He does, so I paid and tipped the bartender, and then I gave the x-wife the new beer. I looked at the mesero and told him to leave me the fuck alone; forever! He waddled away slowly.

I was a little stoked about the Paella Festival on Sunday because it was very close to the hotel. I checked out of the hotel at noon, but the hotel stored my bag for me while I skipped my way to the festival. The smell was wonderful. But wait a goddamn minute, it doesn't start until 2? And I wanted some paella right fucking now! Oh well, I was too hungry to wait and I had things to do in San Diego. I grabbed my bag and headed back.

It wasn't my best weekend in Tijuana, but it could have been worst. I had more good memories than bad memories; I guess that's what counts the most.

Fairly recent. I have been going to Tijuana off and on for many years, and it never happened before. This was a first. I guess they used the excuse of me yapping to the cab driver through his window as a sign I was buying drugs. The worst part about this is America is doing the same thing with the stop and frisk in NY. One thing going to Tijuana has taught me is how precious our constitution is. We should not be afraid to go outside in America, because we might be frisked by the cops because we look a certain way. I can't believe bloomberg and Obama want to turn this country into a 3rd world toilet like Mexico. At least when the government is concerned. When I'm in Mexico I never dress nice, so I don't draw attention to myself from the criminals and the cops who are now one in the same. I guess if you're American, you can dress like a homeless person and they will still stop you. Everyone be careful. Don't look the cops in the eyes when you walk. Just pretend your looking at the shops.

If you only have beer money in pesos in your wallet, and 500 dollars in your shoe, they will think you are a broke american. When I was stopped, I didn't have much money on me, because I had a couple girls before the cops stopped me. I wonder what would have happened if I had a few cnotes in my wallet.

Let's hold on here, everybody. It's not yet time to panic. When that time comes, I'll let everybody know. :D

There is a huge difference between being stopped and frisked and being shaken down for money.

The cops can stop anybody, anywhere, anytime. No probable cause needed. If you're going to hang out for any length of time in LZN it comes with the territory. The point is, with these stops lately, has any money been taken? So far, that doesn't seem to be the case.

Personally, I never carry wads of cash in Mexico, just wads of pesos. I take what I'm going to use and leave the remainder in the hotel safe. However, that's not the point. If you get stopped, take out your money and hold the cash in your hand. They're not going to beat the hell out of you and take it. If you're clean, great. If you're riding dirty, that's another kettle of fish.

Be polite. Don't give in to any bribe requests. Ask to see the judge if necessary. Tijuana has 24 hour judges. But I'm not sure it's come to that yet.

Also, you can't ignore the possibility that Uncle Obama is behind some of this. The nimrods at the State Dept. May have asked Mexico to "crack down" on gringo drug users, for all we know.

When I was arrested I was going home about 6:00 AM Sunday morning to catch the Amtrak. I had a little over $ 400 USD on me. The two policia that stopped me found the money, and put it on the back of the car with the rest of my things. I offered to pay "bail" to them, but was told I had to go see "the judge". It seemed to me that the judge was the officer in charge of the jail at that time (he was dressed in a policia uniform). He also knew that I had the money. My fine for "being dis-respectful to a lady" was $ 1, 000 pesos, which I paid at the border as the two policia let me out with the rest of my money. This was over a year ago, so it may not be relevant now as we are talking about Tijuana, where anything can happen at any time.

Tijuana's finest phucked a lot of people out of money. I was going to Tijuana 2-3 times a month and spending at least $1, 000. 00 a month. While I still miss Tijuana, my bank account is loving it.

Health & happiness to all.

Of the 20+ years of going to Tijuana I have been frisked 3 or 4 times. Never has any of the Tijuana cops taken money from me or asked for bribe. The last time was several years ago while walking down the hill into the Zona. They were not rude with me. They simply searched me and let me be on my way.

The worst thing that ever happen to me was about 15-20 years ago while I was a little drunk and got pick pocketed by some chick on the street. I did not know what had happen until she was gone. Only $80. 00 lost. And lesson learned.

Also we can't ignore the possibility that you wear a tin foil hat, LOL.Maybe 4 years ago, or so, I was in line at Suvarnabhumi Airport, returning to LAX. The line was long and just crawling. Even the Premium Economy line. They were giving everybody the 3rd degree, checking and double checking passports, etc. Farm more than normal.

When I finally got to the counter I asked what was going on. The ticket agent said they had received a request from Homeland No-Security to be extra vigilant because there was some unspecified terrorist threats or some other bullshit. There were even extra pat-downs at the gate.

So, don't tell me that when the bozos in DC ask, other countries don't listen.

The Tijuana cops jack up more foreigners. Because of this, the odds of finding some dork holding goes up. It's a win-win for Tijuana's finest. They can show Big Sis (or whoever-the-fuck runs that insane asylum now) that they're doing as they're told, PLUS they can shake down drug-carrying gringos. The gravy is that nobody gives a shit if some idiot, who is stupid enough to carry drugs in a foreign country, has to make an involuntary donation to the Tijuana Widows and Orphans fund.

Thanks FJ. I welcome any forums to please go and give me your honest opinion!

The place is in a building called "Plaza Del Sol" (most taxi's know, but in case they don't, it is on calle 3ra, in between ninos heroes and constitucion) , the 3rd floor is a gym, my store is on the 2nd floor.

https://www.facebook.com/artederelajaciontj

This is the facebook place.

For forum members wanting to pay a visit, PM me prior to your visit, I will let my manager know to work extra time in.Hey GF, not sure if you've tried this but go to google maps and find you location and get the GPS coordination and post it here and your FB. So any mongers interested (me as well) can just plug it into our phones and just go there. If we take a taxi, we can always show the drivers where it is on our phones. Good example is my GPS coordination I used for Otay Mesa border crossing I posted.

Last time I got lost trying to find Guitarrfreak's shop holding a google map print out based on the address posted on https://www.facebook.com/artederelajaciontj. I think this is also because Tijuana does not really have any addresses. Each street has a couple of different names such as Articulo 123 also known as Primera, something like that, extremely confusing. In fact I tried 3 times to find Plaza Del Sol and got it the 3rd time only after I asked a someone for direction. If you try to find Plaza Del Sol in Tijuana on google map, it will give you a totally different location. I would suggest that Guitarrefreak draw a map with his great engineering skills and posted here. The shop is not far from the Zona, at all. I can find it easily now, but if you want me to tell you the direction, I still can't.

Ciao!

Whoever said that is full of sh*t. You can walk from the border to the zona during all daylight hours. It's actually safer than people think at night, but it can be a bit creepy. Walking to Viva Mex at 10pm is fine. Just don't be drunk and keep your wits about you.Good to know Phordphan.

I don't smoke / drink / drugs. Even then, what should I do, if the cops for whatever reason detain. I have read about the posts that says do not offer any bribe or give them bribe if they ask, too.

If I refuse to pay what happens next.

How does the process work, just to be aware of.

Also, across the hotel entrance is a good Argentinian restaurant called Fonda Argentina. Sorry if this doesn't help you with what you are after but it should keep your other head busy for a little bit. LOL.

Guys do you have any info about the Grand Hotel in the Business district? Is there anything interesting there? A couple of people have mentioned that there are pretty hot chicks roaming the bar there. The Gran Hotel is on Aguas Caliente Blvd. A main avenue with several decent restaurants within walking distance. I'd also like to add " La Lena" (grill meat / parilla) to the list. It is located just a few blocks up next to the country club / golf course. The hotel has a rooftop pool. Please report on it if you use it.

I've been in the hotel a few times for various reasons but never stayed there.

A cab to the zona should cost you anywhere between 50-70 ($6/7) pesos depending how the negotiations go. You may not want to stand right in front of the hotel when you catch the cab. They will definitely charge you more if they see you coming out of that hotel.

.if you're walking west on 3rd street also known as Carrillo Puerto. This is exactly what confuses people "as known as.". Generally speaking we do not have multiple names for one street. Washington Street is Washington Street. It is not also as known as "The First President Street". As far as I have noticed, Tijuana's streets have at least 2 names for each one if not 3 or more. But google map only gives you one name. The rest, you got to figure it out yourself.

Matiz
09-29-13, 22:24
It's certainly confusing to have multiple names for Tijuana streets. One way to keep track of the streets that cross Revolucion is that, beginning with First Street, the "alternate name" for the street begins with the corresponding letter of the alphabet. So, for example, First Street's alternate name-Articulo 123-begins with an "A", Second Street's alternate name begins with a "B", etc.

Hi all you dirty ass mongers. I haven't written any posts for a while, and decided I'd visit to say hello, and give my greetings to all my buddies, old and new.

Actually, the real reason I signed in was because I ran into a very sweet lady last night in Adelitas that I have had relations with in the past, but have not seen in a while.

The first words out of her mouth were,"why did you write about me"? I had forgotten that I had posted about her, and honestly replied I wasn't sure what she was talking about.

But then she persisted, and said she knew it was me because some of the details that I had written in my post. Vague memories of the post came back, but I still didn't want to admit to her, so I asked her if it was a good post or bad post. When she agreed that it was a good post, then I jokingly took credit for it. She didn't seem very upset, and luckily it was a fovorable post about her generous services.

Thought it wud be a funny story to share with you guys that I unintentionally outed myself. Guess I have no one to blame but myself. Woops!

Stay safe, abuse that Tijuana pussy, and watch the details you guys write in your posts, otherwise you cud end up outing urself like this dirty ass monger.

Arrived on Wednesday and stayed a free reward night at the Holiday Inn. Nice hotel but wasn't using it for mongering purposes so cannot speak to it's effectiveness on that front. It does have a nice spa on the first floor so if anyone was in trouble with their lady and needed some bonus points, it would seem a nice place to stay. Also, it is next to La Mansion and their drive-in units. I must admit some jealousy whenever I saw a vehicle enter.

As to the frisking and police presence, I walked the 3. 8 km (per Google maps) from the Holiday Inn to Hotel Ticuan on Thursday and the 2. 5 km from Ticuan to the border on Friday and never was molested or stopped. As previously stated, I do stand out as a gringo but it may be a different situation in the Zona as opposed to the parts of town I was in.

While walking on Thursday, whatever the police situation was at Ticuan, still appeared to be going on. As I turned up Calle Octavia, you could hear sirens start up all over town and several police motorcycles and trucks sped through traffic lights and were all surrounding the Ticuan when I arrived. It only appeared to be a drill to see how soon everyone could reach the hotel in an emergency but they all seemed to be on high alert and the whole weekend, there was at least one if not two or more patrol units outside the whole time.

I was staying in one of the jacuzzi suites on the backside which I thought would isolate me from the club music. Bad mistake. Friday night was absolutely horrible. Both Las Pulgas and the Jai Alai arena had staged competing musical acts. I went down to the OXXO on the corner of Constitution around 11pm and the line to get into the parking garage was as far as you could see. Around 2am, my bed was literally bouncing from the band in the club not to mention the rattle of the windows. At 4am, people started to leave and I don't know the reason, but they were blocked in the garage and could not leave. I assume either there was broken down vehicle or no traffic enforcement on the street but people started blowing their car horns throughout the structure from 4am until the situation finally relieved itself at 6:45am. It was made worse by a medical patient across the hall who decided to open the window to his room and yell out for at least an hour of the fracas, telling people to shut the hell up since we were trying to sleep. Just horrible.

Never did go to the Zona but just used escort services over the 3 days and nights. Mostly bad experiences with one highlight. I also ate at Chiki Jai on Friday and Saturday. I must confess, I never would have stopped in there if not for the recommendation here. The sangrias are good and the paella exactly what you would expect on Costa Sol. There were two tables pushed together on Saturday for a large family but Friday was pretty quiet.

The line at the border was short and within the building on Friday and Sunday. Both times, I was asked 'anything to declare? ' at the Sentri desk and then was on my way, no further questions asked.

good to know phordphan.

i don't smoke / drink / drugs. even then, what should i do, if the cops for whatever reason detain. i have read about the posts that says do not offer any bribe or give them bribe if they ask, too.

if i refuse to pay what happens next.

how does the process work, just to be aware of.generally, the cop either stops you on the street by telling you to "come here," or they pull you taxi over and ask that you get out.

you remain calm and polite. they will ask you questions of the "do you speak spanish" and "what are you doing here" variety. they will also ask for i'd and you'd be wise to have it. when they tell you to turn around and grab a handful of wall you politely remove your money from your front pocket (you really don't carry a wallet in the zona, do you?) and hold it in your hand. then let 'them frisk you (as if you had a choice). all of the stops i've read about or heard of in the past couple of years stop right here, if you're clean. i haven't been stopped in a long time, but all but one stopped here.

if they want something, it will usually be now (assuming they didn't lift a few bux from your wallet while searching it because you didn't have your money in your hand). they'll make up some pretext about holding viagra, jaywalking, dwg (driving while gringo) or some bullshit. then there will be some variation on this infraction costing some ridiculous amount of money. but, lucky you, they will accept payment on the spot. you will be nervous but you must act like this happens to you every day.

at this point you'll play it by ear. you'll need to counter with polite arguments that this alleged infraction isn't illegal, minor speeding isn't a $200 fine, etc. stick to your guns (politely). the requested amount will probably drop. everything is negotiable. when all else fails you can agree to travel with them to see the judge. don't let them tell you that they'll have to keep you until tomorrow. tijuana has 24-hour judges. no judge will tolerate the same damn cop showing up with bullshit arrests. however, this may be a time consuming process although it's very rare that it gets this far.

generally, by this point, they'll have given up and gone off to look for easier prey. but, worst case scenario, you may be forced to part with a few dollars in order to save hours of fucking around. but, i'll reiterate, it rarely gets this far. usually the gringo in question freaks out and forks over money. few resist. but i must stress that calderon got rid of a lot of corrupt police officers over the past 6 years, and the fact that jorge rhon is no longer mayor helped a lot, too. so, the odds of getting jacked up and fleeced are much higher than they were in the dark days of 2008/09.

one last thing. during those bad days there were horror stories of being stopped by cops and then being forced to go to the nearest atm and make a large withdrawal. i don't know if they were true or not. however, during that time i got into the habit of never carrying an atm card. this was one reason, the other was that i couldn't make any drunken withdrawals when the little head had taken over for the big head. i always took as much money as i thought i'd need, left the remainder in the hotel or car, and when it was done, so was i.

finally, just to beat the dead horse once more, today is nothing like it was 3 or 4 years ago. i haven't heard of any shakedowns happening in a long time, and i haven't experienced one in a very long time, either.

Excellent words of wisdom, as usual, by Phordphan. Newbies especially please get to know his post well.

Unfortunately, I may have been the one he was talking about that they took in. It is very unusual as he has said. Since I have previously posted about what happened to me, I will not go into it again.

Many are looking for a novia (I wasn't, but she told my wingman "she loved me"). I never saw her out of the club, never called her (I didn't even know her phone number).

Do not make a Latina lady jealous, you never know who they know, or what they will do. I found out the hard way.

I have a question about Oxycotin? I have never been a drug user, other than smoking pot a few times in my life, and want to try oxycotin once or twice. Can I safely try this a couple times, or is this a real dangerous drug and I should probably stay away from it. I have seen people on doctor Drew's show that were complete addicts, but I was thinking they might be real weak minded, and I could try it without getting addicted. I am assuming since its made by a drug company, and not some guy in a garage, it wouldn't have all the harmful effects of alot of drugs that I have no idea what they put in it. Can the experienced mongers that have tried this advise on this drug, and what doctor in Tijuana will prescribe a couple pills. I will not be bringing anything across the border. Is there any action outside the Zona Norte.

Is there a place where semi-pros, or normal girls who want to test the waters hang-in and go out. Any bars, clubs like that.

I have been to other latino countries, Costa Rica, Columbia, DR, Cuba to name a few, and found latina's to be open minded and it was not considered impolite if we ask someone whether she is interested in coming with us for fun. Sure there are girls who would not like to be asked this way, and when that happens, I apologize and leave. No harm done.

There are places on earth, where asking a chica like that will put you in big trouble.

Where does Mexican culture stand. Say I goto the pharmacy, and see a chica working there. Can I ask her whether she has boy friend, when she would finish work and whether she would be interested to meet me in the hotel. Would you senior bros recommend making attempts like this in Tijuana.

I have had the "opourtunity" to be in several rehab situations! A few Doctors and even a Airline pilot were "addicted" to this drug. (pain killer) Unless you need it (IMHO). As they say: "just don't do it!" Doing any drugs in a foreign country is NOT real smart anyway!

This will just be a experiment in Tijuana. Will you be taking it orally, snorting it or smoking it?

Orally, you're probably just going to get woozy and sleepy, but not unpleasantly so.

Smoking or snorting. Well, it's your funeral.

It is a very addictive drug. I would not get started with it. Crazy!

There is plenty of night life in Tijuana outside the Zona Norte. Of course Friday and Saturday nights are going to be your best bets as far as bars go. 6th St. At Rev. Has a nice variety of bars and the area gets pretty crazy well into the wee hours. The crowd you will find are mostly locals. Times have changed where many years ago Rev. Was filled with young americans getting drunk now you will find a young local crowd. You may also want to check Zona Rio a bit more of an upscale area, but a nice selection of bars.

I have spent many Sunday nights in Las Pulgas (8th & Rev) and found a decent crowd there. It is Tijuanas largest dance club, while it is mostly a civie place I always like to look around and try to spot the sex worker who I may recognize from the Zona. You will find them sprinkled in. The funny thing I have noticed many times the working girls will want to change out of there **** cloth and the civie's will be wearing the slutiest clothing they can find. Go figure.

Not sure what you mean by semi pro and testing the waters. But another option is off duty sex workers. Your best option for partying with them would be to check out La Maquerida bar (name could be wrong) it is located at Constitution and the alley. And Valentina Bar in the alley. Both of those spots you would want to wait until the wee hours of the morning.

Not sure about approaching girls in there work place, I don't think you will offend anyone, but just like the good old USA I wouldn't try it unless you are feeling a certain vibe from the girl.

From what you wrote, it looks like there are places for dancing, bar hopping etc, but there is no place outside the zona to pick up girls.

I was hoping there might be a place outside the zona, where non hardcore chicas might come over to do business. I am talking about girls who have regular jobs, but do this once in a while to make extra bucks or for the thrill of it.

Can I ask her whether she has boy friend, when she would finish work and whether she would be interested to meet me in the hotel. Would you senior bros recommend making attempts like this in Tijuana.First question, do you speak fluent Spanish? Mexican culture is still pretty conservative. Walking up to the pharmacy girl and saying "Do you want to meet me at my hotel" is tantamount to saying "Hey babe, want to fuck?" Good luck with that. Tell us how it goes. If she's a "good" girl it's going to take more than that. Unless, of course, you look like Aron Diaz. Then all bets are off!

As Hugo said, there is a ton of nightlife outside the zona. If you want to try your luck picking up a chica in one of the bars, you have a wealth of choices, depending on your age. Las Pulgas is a good idea for all ages. Circo is good for very young people. La Estrella is good for slightly older. You'll probably want a wingman. No guarantees.

Now, semi-pro is a lot easier to find, and is my personal preference. You'll find many on Craigslist. I've picked up some working as "touts" or sitting in a small bar. Most will hang out with you, drink or dance, whatever, accompany you to your room, all for a few bux. They're not hookers, but they do appreciate some extra income. Even many the "pros" on CL, after a few appointments so they know you, will be happy to go out on occasion for a very reasonable amount of money. You'll have more fun than sitting in Adelitas all night, and you'll spend far less.

I did a quick run to Tijuana Tuesday. The zona was very slow, many SGs MIA. I did see one Fav. And she was surprised and HAPPY to see me ($$$). She said no chicos. No business. (except ME!) Peso at 13. 00 at McDonalds at La linea. CBPs who were there were doing the "SLOW AND GO". Even in the building at 9:00pm it took 45 minutes! It's like the ones who were working (during the shutdown) were doing an intended "protest". That really sucks. This Filipino CBP agent with an attitude asked what I was doing in Mexico. I said Dinner and Sex with my girlfriend!

I didn't plan on snorting it. Just swallow it. If this stuff is so bad, how is it still legal. It's not "bad." It does what it's supposed to do. It's an opioid, sometimes called synthetic heroin, although that's not 100% accurate. It's also somewhat stronger than heroin.

It's a painkiller. If you have a family history of drug or alcohol addiction it's probably a very bad idea to take this stuff recreationally. If not, a couple of pills isn't going to kill you. If you've taken other oral opioids, like Vicodin, the feeling is going to be much the same, perhaps a bit stronger. IIRC, Oxy is made in a timed-release fashion so it lasts longer in your system. That's probably why most serious addicts like to smoke it. It's more of a strong immediate hit.

Personally, I don't like the dopey feeling I get with this sort of thing, unless I'm in a lot of pain. If you do, don't let us stop you. Good luck.

i've been lazy and remiss in my reporting.

3 weeks ago i set up an afternoon rendezvous with rocky, the flying squirrel. i parked at otay and hoofed it across (which isn't bad) and then up to bellas artes (which is a bit of a hike on a hot day). call me cheap but i have a philosophical problem paying $10 for a very short cab ride to her place.

i walked to our meeting place, we bought a few skyys and cervezas, and then retired to our favorite no-tel. we ordered a light lunch and, i must say, i've always been pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food at these establishments. you're a captive audience so they could give you any crap they wanted to, but it's always been good. ok, the guacamole needed a bit of salt, but i'm quibbling. &61514;

then we sat around and swilled our drinks and proceeded to get a nice buzz going. as usual, i was on the receiving end of a long, rapid-fire spanish lesson. i'm getting better at keeping up, but often get blown into the weeds.

after a while we proceeded to get more comfortable. we put on some music and started to get down to business. pretty normal so far, right? before things went too far we adjourned to the shower to clean up a bit before the main event.

back in bed things started out normally but then something changed. rocky got more and more passionate and affectionate as we progressed. lots of dfk, rubbing her pussy on my thigh, sighs and moans. next thing i know she flipped onto her back and pulled me on top of her and inside of her. condom? fuggedaboudit. ohh, que rico!

carnal relations with her had always been pretty good, but now she was taking it to the next level. i was merely a passenger, along for the ride, at this point.

we eventually finished and collapsed in a heap. after some recuperation we looked at the clock and then zipped into the shower. it's amazing how quickly four hours can go by when you're having fun.

i held out a few hundred pesos for emergency funds and gave her the rest, probably about 1, 200. then we walked out.

traffic was going to be a be*tch heading north, so we retired to the pool hall for a few games and a few beers. hoo, boy. i was just going to hang out for an hour, or so, until traffic calmed down. but we all know about the best laid plans, etc, etc.

we got a table and a couple of cues. then rocky starts ordering a steady stream of cervezas. i put some music on the jukebox and we played and drank. and played. and drank. next think i know, another four hours have passed. shit. i should go. ok, one more. another hour passes. damn. luckily i'the held back enough to cover the tab. i settled it. in the meantime, rocky's all over me like a cheap suit. what's not to like?

outside the cabbie wants more to take her home, and me to the border, than i have. i scraped through my pockets and came up with just barely enough, after a bit of negotiation. i got dropped off at the border around 10-ish, no line, cbp agent wanted to know what i was doing in mexico. dunno, dude. i just woke up in the street.

traffic was light on the way home, i will say that. since then, ms. r's messages have become a lot more affectionate. i think she's in love.

Wendsday morning I carpooled down to Tijuana with a few of the fellas this was going to be a rare overnight trip as far as the carpool thing goes. After last year we decided the Tequila festival should require an overnight trip so nobody has to drive after all those samples.

I have not done a regular mongering trip to Tijuana in quite a while due to the regular GF thing. As some have mentioned on here thoe secret missions to Zona Norte are hard to keep secret, there are alot of eyes in the Zona and you never know who will rat you out. And with my buddy Artisttyp in town it was worth the risk just to be able to hang with him for awhile.

I met up with Artisttyp shortly after arriving and we met up at one of his favorite restraunts and had a nice lunch. By the way if anybody on here needs food recomdations hit up Art or Phordphan they got the Tijuana food scene wired.

Next we headed to the Zona my plan was to get a room at Cascadas and use the coupon I had. It required getting a bucket of beer at LC bar and then they would give you your room for half price. It is a great deal if you are a beer drinker. Good thing I had Art with me to help me finish the bucket. Of course using a coupon in Tijuana always seems to be a hassle nobody seems to understand how a coupon works. But anyway after standing around the desk at Cascadas for about 20 minutes they figured it out and sit me up with a nice room on the 6th floor for 25 instead of 50.

It dosent take much to get me buzzed and I don't remember how the time got away so quick. I do remember ending up in La Gloria bar doing some slow dances and then we noticed it was going on 8 and were supposed to be going to the Tequila festival so we headed over there. We met up with the other fellas who all seemed to be pretty loaded, amazing what numerous samples can do to someone. It probably helped that due to the rain there were not alot of people there and each booth was more than happy to see someone show up for samples, they were very generous. I'm not big on Tequila but I was able to drink some of the flavored samples that tasted pretty good. I do remember getting a sandwich at this Argentinian booth that was out of this world be sure and look for it if you go the festival this year.

Eventually we found are way back to the Zona and hung out for awhile in different bars. They were passing out free drink cards at the festival for a free beer at HK and I do remember using them and getting some pretty generous touching for a 1 dollar bill in HK. Again details get a little fuzzy Art headed to the room and I wandered around until 4:30 in the morning. Amazingly no encounters with the monkees or the Rateros. Pickings got pretty slim as far as SG's go but I did settle on a nice slow long BJ with Cecila who stands between Valentina's and Cascada.

Before I knew it it was 8 a. M. And I couldn't sleep. Staying overnight in the Zona reminds me so much of when I'm in Vegas. No matter how tired you are you can't sleep because you are afraid you are missing something. So I headed down looking for a good morning SG. It was very slim pickings, as I was walking around I decided to stick my head in La Malquerida Bar. This place has a reputation for an off duty Zona workers hangout. So I walked in just to have a look and I see some girl upstairs waving, I turned around to see who she was waving at, and there was nobody behind me, but I continued to ignore her because I didn't have any idea who it was. She did send a masero down and he said are you Hugo and I said yea and he said your friend wants you upstairs. So I go up and there are 2 girls and a big bucket of beers there, she gives me a big hug. And I don't have a clue who she is. These girls are always changing there look and besides I'm missing that gene that allows you to remember faces. Anyway I soon figured out she was a girl I had been working on as a back up plan awhile ago, just in case the GF left me heartbroken one day. She had been gone for months and wow it was good to see her back. So anyways now its 8:30 in the morning and for the next 3 hours I sat there getting drunk with them and having the time of my life. Who gets drunk at 9 in the morning. You have got to love Tijuana. Now I probably should have offered up some money and brought them both back to the room, but I have figured out it is easy enough to find sex in the Zona and sometimes it is better to keep sex out of it and establish a relationship that will pay dividends in the long run.

So I did leave the bar around noon and found a SG who provided great service for the 200pesos and got one more session in before checkout. The few times I have used SG's in the last year have been awful. So everything this trip worked out great and I had a wonderful time in Tijuana.

I see there is a web site for checking historical border cross wait times. My question is, is there any way to check the real current wait times from the zona before heading back to the border.

Here is my worry. I want to maximize my time in the zona and also do not want to miss my flight out of San Diego. If I anticipate 4hour delays and come to the border, and I happen to pass within 30 minutes then I will endup being a dump idiot wasting time in the airport, and I would rather be having fun in the zona. On the otherhand if I stay too late then will miss the flight.

What is the best way to check the backlog from the zona. Do I have to come to the border and then go back or can I check from some place in the zona itself.

Has anyone stayed at the Marriott. Location? Chica friendly?I've stayed her quite a few times when I can't get my "go to" room at another location.

The hotel is on Aguas Calientes right next to the giant Caliente Casino in Hippodromo or next to the Plaza Galerias. It's a bit more further out from the Zona Norte. Add another 10 minutes on travel by taxi.

For me. It's very chica friendly (maybe because the staff knows who I am). But once in a while I did see other patrons checking in their chicas during the early parts of the morning. But I believe they are "chica friendly".

Has anyone stayed at the Marriott. Location? Chica friendly? It is chica friendly but you have to be prepared. The first thing is if using an escort, meet her in the lobby instead of her going to the front desk. If you are bringing in a chica from outside with you, walk past and no one will bother you (as the front desk is very busy all the time). The second thing is that the elevator is only accessible by using your room key. A chica can get in the elevator but it will not move without a key. I saw it happen twice. Nice hotel otherwise. Ask for a room that faces the golf course for quieter sleep.

My wingman and I will be heading be heading to Tijuana for a couple nights of debauchery on Oct. 31. This will be our 3rd trip to Tijuana. Has anybody here done Halloween in Tijuana before? Looking for a little insight on what to expect that night. Will it be crazy busy (the clubs and the city in general) Do you think the girls will be charging more because its Halloween / Dia de los Muertos. I know HK is throwing a Halloween party, not sure what to expect. Anybody else goin down that weekend? We're dressing up for the occasion in costumes. We're staying at the Ticuan as usual and will be there till the morning of the 2nd.

I have spent the last 2 Halloweens in Tijuana, and plan on making it 3 in a row. Its nothing to crazy but much more festive than a usual night. You will probably find it to be more memorable than your average trip.

Some of my Halloween memorys. Having a pirate giving me a BJ / HJ in a Zona parking lot. Suprised at the number of people who would take there kids trick or treating in Zona Norte. One bar was passing out candy to the kids and condoms to the adults. A lot of drinking and crazy costumes make for good photo oppurtunities. The last 2 years I went dressed as a monger. This year I'm feeling some pressure to go in costume. Not sure what to do.

Anyone here eat at these stalls? Talking about the one across from the corner in the vicinity of Adelitas and there's another one on the side of the Alley when U-turn right from HK. They serve them up in a cup. Was salivating watching people eating them but wasn't sure on how fresh they were.

So as to avoid an ultralong post I'll break this up onto multiples.

Rocky the Flying Squirrel wanted to get together this last weekend. (I call her Rocky because she has lots of energy, is very short and I feel like Bullwinkle, tall dumb and slow, standing next to her). So I made some reservations for Friday night at the Villa Marina in Ensenada.

Friday came. I'd loaned my car with the SENTRI sticker to a relative who proceeded to lose the registration and insurance card. So, I had to dig up replacements which took time. I was about 90 minutes late because of all that. I crossed at the Otay checkpoint and picked her up. After dropping off a relative near 5 why 10 we hit the road. It was a warm day and a very nice drive. I hadn't driven to Ensenada in probably 20 years or longer, although I had stopped there on a cruise probably 5 years back.

We finally arrived and checked in. Tijuana spoils you for choice in good hotels, among other things. All the nicer places were booked or ridiculously expensive. VM was neither. Upon arrival I saw why. It's very old and very basic. The room was clean but, again, very basic. A bed (very hard, like a Thai bed, which I liked) , a table and two chairs, a couple of nightstands and a sort of desk. No dresser for clothing. Ultra thin carpet on the floor. Shower / tub combo with a neat feature. No matter what temperature you set the water on it would cycle from cold to absolutely scalding every 20 seconds or so. It made showering a bit of a sport, trying to time your lather and rinse so as not to freeze or become hospitalized with 2nd degree burns. Oh, well. It was only $62.

We were famished and went to find some food. All the stuff to do is along Lopez Mateos. Right by the hotel is the El Cid hotel and the attached El Rey Sol restaurant. They have a nice little outside eating area and we opted for that. We had the mushroom appetizer (plenty for two) consisting of large button 'shrooms sautéed in butter and onion, flambéed with brandy, deglazed with white wine, then beef stock reduced into a pan sauce. Prepared tableside and absolutely delicious. Next was a Caesar Salad, also prepared tableside and even better than Caesar's in Tijuana. The waiter claimed they won a recent Caesar Salad competition, beating Caesar's in Tijuana, and I believed him. They have a rather extensive local wine list, much of it from the L. A. Cetto vineyards. The place is almost as expensive as anything in LA, but the food is delicious. Highly recommended.

Afterwards we strolled over to the waterfront. It was getting to be dusk, the cruise ship had weighed anchor and things were winding down. Hell, the whole place beginning to look like a ghost town. We hired a fishing boat for a harbor tour (200 pesos) and watched the moon come up over the hills. Quite nice, highly recommended. Then we walked back to the hotel. It was getting a bit chilly and we wanted to change before going out.

We arrived in the room and began to change. She was standing in front of the mirror at the desk when I walked up behind her for a hug. I began to nuzzle her neck. She began to moan softly. Suddenly the dam burst, clothes went flying and we were going at it like minks. Mish, CG, Asian CG, back to Mish. I was wearing out when she asked where I wanted to cum. Just as a joke I said "Your mouth." She just stuck out her tongue, pointed it in the air as if licking something. Then she slid down, stuck Jr. In her mouth and started stroking him for all she was worth. Damn. I started pumping in and out of her mouth and it felt great. But I wasn't getting there despite her best efforts, so I switched back to Mish to finish, covering her belly with my "tres litros" as she calls it. What a gal! She went to clean up and get ready and told me to take a nap. So, I obliged.

We were both ready to head out about 8:00. We went up to the top floor where they have a dance floor, live music and a bar. Beer is 30 pesos but it's 2x1. The music (at least that night) was mostly Cumbia variations. All the patrons were locals, confirmed by the waitress. After dancing. 3 beers each and some carne seca with Clamato, it was approaching 10:30 and time to move on. Down the elevator and out into the night.

We walked out of the hotel and down Lopez Mateos. I remember the days when it was wall-to-wall tourists all night. Now most places are closed up tight by 8:00. Kinda sad.

Things began to pick up the closer we got to the "bar area." Hussong's looked like it was starting to get busy, but Ms. R made a beeline for the place next door. It was decorated on the outside like a pirate ship, presumably for Halloween. You go through a hallway, up some stairs and into the main bar that has no roof. Somewhat glitzy white chairs and banquettes, purple lighting, weird tall rectangular boxes served as tables. The name of the place was Lutzenkirch (with an umlaut over the you) , which the waiter insisted meant "illuminated church" in German. I suspect the person who named the joint didn't speak a word of German. They played a house mix reminiscent of Coko Bongo but not as loud. We were the only two customers in the place. I will say that things tend to get started late there, as it was beginning to get a bit busier by the time we left somewhere around midnight. Three appletinis, two flaming shots and one tequila shooter set me back about 500 pesos, perhaps explaining why it wasn't as busy as other clubs.

We left and I insisted we make a lap of Hussong's. In the old days it was wall to wall gringos. The last time I was in there, about 5 years ago, there were exactly 4 customers. Dark days indeed. But now it was paced to the rafters with locals. Mariachis playing in the middle of the floor, more waiting in the back. Like Tijuana, it seems the Ensenada bars have reinvented themselves.

Out the door and across the street to the original location of Papas & Beer. There is another large one in the area, with different music, but we didn't make it to that one. Again, no more drunk-ass gringos, just loads of locals. We grabbed a table and had a couple of brews. The mix here is much more on the techno side, and it really wasn't my cup of tea. After a couple of beers we decided to split.

The waiter at lunch had recommended La Choperia, so that was the next stop. It was now somewhere around 1:00am. The place is laid out in a similar fashion to the one in Tijuana. The joint was jumping. We found seats at the bar where I got a huge icy mug of Modelo and she kept knocking back her Tecate Lights and flashing her tits at the bartender. Well, to be honest, only once or twice. They had a decent band in the other room and, after a while, we picked up and moved closer. Then closer. Then a lot closer. Actually, Rocky moved and I just followed. The band was pretty good. Even the guy running the mixing board belted out some great vocals that all the girls loved.

Closing time. 3:00am, finally arrived. We were both still standing, although Rocky just barely. The place started to clear out so we followed suit. Seems all the places close at 3:00 and there were no after-hours places that I could see. It was just as well. So we headed off, rather unsteadily, to find some food and the hotel.

After leaving La Choperia I had to find some grub. Here's where things got weird. I may have forgotten to mention it, but when Rocky drinks the filter between brain and mouth disappears and whatever thought crosses her mind at any given instant becomes verbal. Things like telling a waiter what a fun guy I am, another one what an unfaithful louse I am because she suspected I went to a hotel with somebody else, that we're visiting from Tijuana and LA, etc. It can be fun and terribly embarrassing, sometimes all at once.

First we hit the only available hot dog stand for some great hot dogs. Is there anything better than coming out of a Mexican bar half drunk, into the cold night air, and having a bacon wrapped mystery-meat hotdog? Nope, didn't think so.

Next we started trying to navigate down Lopez Mateos to the hotel. We passed a taco cart with some delicious smells and I had to have one. So we walked up and ordered a fish taco. Rocky suddenly wanted to sit down and demanded to know if they had chairs. The proprietor chased away some lady sitting in a chair and gave it to Rocky, then another for me. This was surreal. But she plopped right down so I followed suit. Very strange.

After paying we toddled closer, ever closer, to the hotel. But an evil 7-11 popped up and blocked our progress. Rocky darted in and demanded to know where the sandwiches were. OMG. Then she wandered around for a bit, nabbed a can of juice, then accosted the clerk again, inquiring about the sandwiches, which were directly in front of her. I was just along for the ride at this point. The clerk and were just exchanging glances. She picked out a sandwich, I paid and we were off again.

So close. But a block away, up ahead, were two figures. As we drew nearer I could tell they were women. One was semi-OK, the other looked as if she'd fallen out of the Ugly Tree and hit every branch on the way down. As we were approaching, Rocky starts blurting greetings and announcing where we were from. The girls turned around. Next thing I know Rocky is inviting them up to the room. OMG. The scary thing was that the girls seemed amenable to the request. I made some lame ass excuses about the bed being too small for four, not having any power (seems that one only works in Thailand) , etc. As I tried to gracefully extract us from the situation and head the last few yards to the hotel Rocky says "Ooh. Putas!" Then told me something to the effect that we could have them both for 1, 000 pesos. I don't know if she made that up or what, as I didn't hear that. But the last thing I needed was two strange streetwalkers, at 4:00am, in my room with no safe and me passed out in bed.

We finally made it into the room and got partially undressed. Rock laid on the bed and said something like "Come here and fuck me." I said wait a minute while I remove my contacts, which took about 1 minute. When I got back to the bed she was sound asleep. I can't say I was surprised.

If you stay in the hotel and want to sleep late, don't choose the 3rd floor. The traffic noise is unbelievable. I woke around 10 and couldn't really get back to sleep, but we dozed until close to noon. Poor Rocky had a headache. She did her best to give me a good handjob but I've never been a morning person and even less with a minor hangover.

Now here comes the funny part. Over coffee later she mentioned that she had no recollection of buying the sandwich. So, I started asking her about the tacos, the chairs, the putas, etc. Poor girl just blushed and her eyes got a little wide. She had no recollection of anything after the hotdog cart. OMG. I laughed my ass off telling her about trying to have a foursome with two streetwalkers.

We headed back to Tijuana in the afternoon. It was an uneventful, scenic drive. Traffic in Tijuana was a mess, as usual. I took her on a couple of small errands then dropped her off at her place. I gave her 1500 pesos, then headed for the Otay SENTRI line. Got into the line about 5:45 and was across before 6:00. Cool.

So, tons of fun, will repeat. My SCUBA instructors were correct. BWRAF. Brown Women Really Are Fun.

Asian CG is CG but the woman squats and remains on her feet. Regular CG the woman is usually on her knees. If the woman has reasonably strong thigh muscles Asian CG will result in longer, better stroking action than regular CG.

Thanks Phordphan for a great report and another restraunt review. Before I did my Ensenada getaway I to was there once on a cruise ship around 5 years ago. Hmm wonder if we were on the same ship.

Ensenada sure does make for a nice mini vacation. A great place to take your favorita for a nice getaway. The drive down is beautiful and it actually feels like you are going on vacation. When we ended up leaving the bars in the wee hours the place was like a ghost town. I do remember seeing a 7-11 but streetwalkers and food carts, wow where did you find those?

The hotdog guy was doing a fairly brisk business and I saw no others. The taco cart was the only one I saw and he looked as if he was ready to shut down. The streetwalkers were an absolute fluke. The stretch between the bars and the hotel was completely empty. These two were probably headed home and we just happened to catch up with them.

I agree with the mini-vacation thing. It's a nice getaway.

Hi Gang,

I'm planning to be in the San Diego area on Saturday and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good sports bar for Saturday night in T. J.

I'm hoping to catch the Aztecs-Fresno State and Stanford-Oregon State games before returning to the beloved Calle Coahuila area for a night cap. Hoping to see the games at a place that will have some audio and not too much noise from the music, etc.

Big hello to my old running mate Tom J. Hope to run into you again sometime soon.

I haven't been down in a month because I've been busy and was still a tad pissed about the last weekend trip. However, I was itching to see my favorite and it was Artistyp's birthday on Saturday. So with those factors, I had to stay for the weekend.

The exchange rate was 12. 66 to one; so I stocked up. I get to the Ticuan around 3 on Friday, check in, and said hi to all the staff; I'm family there dammit! The female manager is freaking hot! Her ass is made for my face, but I'm too scared to tell her that. A quick shower and change, it was off for tacos and HK. When I entered, Diago was already there sitting with a real hottie. We scored our back booths and just waited as our buddies (chicas) came by and say hello. Artistyp came in and it was game on. We had the cousins over for a while; I love them. They sit, play, and drink very, very, slow. I call one mi esposa (the dominate one) , one mi novia, and the blonde, mi hija.

A couple of days before I came to town, Artistyp e-mailed me and said he had someone I had to meet. Damn, he gets around and I'm always grateful for his mass knowledge of every place he visits. While in HK, I'm texting this new girl, let's call her the Bomb, short for Bombshell. I set up a meeting at the Ticuan for 7:30, because we have plans for Las Pulgas for later in the evening. But before my date, I wanted to make a run through LC, BG, and BT. So at 7, we leave the cousins in tears (because the future lack of fichas in the their near future).

LC, no one that I knew, but Diago knew a few. Stopped in BG and I'm just standing near a booth scanning the place. This fucking drunk local walks up and wants to beat my Gringo ass because I was blocking his way to his booth, even though there were three other ways to get to his seat. He was a small dude and I'm sure one good punch would do the deed, however, he had a few other friends in the booths. After being sucker punched in HK, I try to avoid conflict at all cost. So I backed away, but Diago moved in and went face to face with this fucker. Basically Diago told him that he was drunk and he was sober and either back off or get fucken hurt; the dude sat down quickly.

In BT, I see this petite hotty and quickly fell in love! But it was one of Diago's girls; fuck! However, Diago and I have been known to share, so I do get her number, quickly finish my 2 for 1 drinks and head off to the Ticuan for my date. Walk in the lobby, seen my date, and was very fucking happy. We went to the bar, had some cocktails, got some sliced up limes and salt, and headed to the room.

I have a bottle of Corralejo in the room, and it turns out she loves Corralejo; BINGO! We are doing our best to drink the damn bottle, laughing, playing, so forth. Hell, now the meet up at 9 turns into after 10. Turns out that Diego and Artistyp are in the hotel waiting for my dumb ass to show up. We come down, and I introduced the Bomb to Diego, and I'm not sure, but I think he started salivating! I apologized for being tardy and off we go and meet up with 6 chicas for the concert at Las Pulgas. We turned the corner and it seemed like hundreds and thousands of people were in line going to the same concert.

I was about trashed at that point, and knew I needed to keep moving to survive. If I had to wait in that line, I would need a nap first. So I slowly backed out and said my apologizes again to Diago. Artistyp jumped on my bandwagon and we headed back to La Coahuila. Back in La Coahuila, I entrained Artistyp for a couple of hours with my drunken antics, it was a good time; I think. When all was said and done, Artistyp safely tucked me into a cab and I headed home to the Ticuan.

On Saturday, I woke up surprising early, at 10. Headed for breakfast at 11 at Cenaduria. I'm sitting down, drinking red wine, hung over as hell, and then heard my name being shouted in English. Well, the staff know my Spanish name, so I was confused. It turned out to be Keg in the back of the place. He joins me and we discuss monger destinations and such. After we part, I'm back to sleep. My favorite is coming to the hotel at 3, and I need to rest for her. At 3, I'm at the bar waiting for her, I get a text that she is working until 5; fuck, back to bed!

At 5, I find ABC out of the hundreds of channels for the Florida State / Clemson much awaited game. I was ready just to relax and watch Florida State stomp the fuck out of Clemson, but got a text at 5:30; dammit! Usually I have the TV on HTV (Latina video music channel) , but I was not about to miss the game. So I put the TV on mute, and streamed in HTV music on my laptop; all is good now. During sex, the best position to watch the game was doggy. Reverse cowgirl also worked out well. Turned out to be a great session. Florida State was scoring a lot and so was I; best of both worlds!

Met up with Artistyp and we headed to Nikki's to chill, but the fights were still going, so it was not a chilling atmosphere. Guitarrefreak joined us as well for the birthday celebration. I asked Larry about the few complaints in relation to his sandwiches and he gave us a couple of sandwiches to checkout ourselves. The pork and beef sandwiches were pretty damn good! Larry also provided the birthday cookies and ice cream, with candles to boot! As Artistyp blew out the candles, I'm sure he was making a wish for some nice ripe asses to lick for his remaining days in Tijuana. Thank you Larry for helping with the celebration and the tasty sandwiches!

Artistyp wanted to head to Playboy. I personally swore off the place, but it wasn't my birthday, so what the hell. Playboy has done some remodeling and has a different look and a different feel; I like the changes. I was attacked from behind from America, who used to work at Nikki's, and then AB. I asked her why she made the move to Playboy. And in an animated way using her hands and special noises, she told me she was getting fucked too much and how her pussy was gaping wide at the end of the night and she could hear echoes coming from her snatch. Fuck, she had me in tears laughing.

But I was there when the Earth Stood Still in Playboy! I fucking kid you not, Artistyp brought a girl over and BOUGHT a ficha. Jesus tap dancing christ! I thought, what's next? The pope would start liking little girls? She was quite the cutie. When she had to dance she threw her panties at Artistyp. Big mistake on her part, because he fell in love with the panties and the heavenly scent that came from them. She almost had to fight him to get the panties back, but he did let go; reluctantly! Lucky for me, I know that Artistyp has good sense of humor. I should have headed back to the Ticuan at this point, but I met one of Artistyp's street cuties and ended up a 4 dollar five star hotel.

It was a good weekend, no cop or girl problems. And the bonus of hanging out with my buddy Artistyp on his birthday to top it off.

To the guys that have been with a lot of the escorts from the main 3 agencies, and have talked to the girls or owners, how many guys would you say the attractive girls do a night / week compared to the HK girls. I had a HK girl say she used to make 800 or so a night when they had more gringos. That's crazy money for Tijuana or anywhere, but more importantly a crazy amount of men per night if its 60 a pop. I wonder what Cumintj / Mlb girls do a night. Any info would be good.

Does anyone have experience staying at any of the hotels on revolution street as you're walking from las plugas to downtown where HK is. I noticed, when I was there last time, they had a few hotels on both sides of the street, but I never checked the rooms for prices or star level. They looked good from the outside. I planned on checking my last day, but never got around to it. It would be nice to stay for 35 a night with no extra for guests if the rooms are nice. I know its tough to beat ticuan but the prices are getting higher there.

The question you need to ask yourself is what ammenities you need. Very few have heat or AC so that alone disqualifies several for me.

La Villa de Zaragoza.

Hotel America.

Are the only ones that fit this description as fas as I know. If anyone can add to the list please do.

Tijuana is loaded with hotels. If you are willing to be a little distance away from the zona there are tons of options for $40 and under.

From my experience a guest poilicy in these places depends on how you negotiate. I always opt for the straight forward approach and say that I will have a gust visitng me now and then. I mention that they will leave their I'd at the reception until they leave the premises.

They are clean and the price is reasonable. It's been a while, but IIRC they have double beds, maybe queens but certainly not kings. No room safe. The receptionist lady used to have an attitude, but if you escort your guests in and out you'll have no problems.
