You'll never get through the turnstiles without it, unless you cross late at night.

The point of having SENTRI is to walk to the head of the ridiculous line at the border and go through the gate marked SENTRI. The guard will insist he see your card. When you can't produce it you'll be sent back to the end of the line. The first time I used mine, I got to the turnstiles but still had the card in the protective covering. The guard made me remove the card and check it before being allowed past. The second time, I thought I was prepared and had the card out but was holding backwards so the guard saw it, stopped me, and checked that my face actually matched the photo. Now I check that it is face side out and completely visible as I walk through.

And I leave for Socal Wednesday AM the 8th.

Odds are low that an approval on 1/3 will be in my mailbox tomorrow. 1/7.

Am I going to catch total hell for "forgetting" that I forgot my card at home if I belly up to the Sentri lane at customs? Or can I reasonably play an "Oh crap. Guys. I screwed up. I was approved but I left my card at home. I JUST got it, can you help somehow?"

I will of course be well dressed, have my passport, my GE / Sentri I'd. Etc.I would not advise doing that at the Sentri kiosk. You run the risk of having your membership revoked and applying again. Happened to me when I drove up to the Sentri checkpoint. I didn't have my Sentri card and I was sent to secondary. After that I had to re-apply for Sentri and told me if I ever did that again. I would be banned from the program.

For those who drive their cars into Mexico.

When I got my SENTRI they inspected my car immediately after my interview, then put a sticker in the window. I understand they no longer do the sticker thing and that you apply on-line for permission to take your car through the SENTRI lane.

I applied for another car about 2 months ago, and still nothing. I check from time to time and it still says "Pending" on the web site. Has anybody else done this? How long does this take?

Lastly, what does everybody do for car insurance if you take your car to MX regularly?

I've had SENTRI for several years. I had to renew last year and I was also surprised at how long it took them to respond. If I remember correctly it was about 3 months before I moved past the "pending" status on their website. I got a sticker in the window as of last April. Because I drove into Mexicali weekly, I purchased an annual car insurance policy. The cost varies depending on the value of your car. My annual fee was just under $400 with MexUs of Calexico.

So the other night I receive a text from my MBGF in Tijuana. She is talking about missing me and wanting my penis in her mouth etc. Etc. And then within minutes I receive a message from my wife " DON'T FORGET TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH!".

I guess its a no brainer why I love Tijuana.

Sometimes I wonder if the wife knows about our mongering activities. Women are smart to understand when their partners sleep around. I would like to know how people still get away with it and continue to monger. In american society, these women don't realize how much you care and give them the security, the moment you sleep around or even flirt around becomes the whole reason for divorce. I wonder how people are still married and continue to monger. If there is any trick or a way to be still mongering around and continue to live happy with a wife, I would like to know. This has prevented me from getting married. I think my life will be more complete when I monger but still be with my wife and continue to provide her care and security. When does the society realize the fact that I am a man and my body wants sex with many girls and it has nothing to do with my love or affection towards my wife. I have tried to change and just be with one girl but my body rejects it.

This actually becomes a very philosophical question and raises many debates. As much as I feel guilty about mongering (because of the way society has raised us) , I question its very reason for the guilt. I am at a stage of life where I have to choose between mongering or having a family with wife and kids. This unfortunately has created a lot of stress, anxiety and I have been unable to come to a rationalized conclusion.

Nothing is more demeaning that being treated with utmost disrespect in your own house.

I request forum members should share their views on this topic. It will help me and certainly few others along this life journey.

Thanks.

For those who have their SENTRI stickers, you can remove them if you wish. Because of cartels targeting cars as mules by magnetizing their stash underneath them. I decided to remove mine.

Marriage is over-rated. Everyone knows that once the ring goes on. Your life just goes downhill from there. With the divorce rate at 50. I'd rather live a happy single life than a miserable married life.I wouldn't say anything like your life goes downhill after you are married. It was nothing like that for me. My wife was just boring. I was always having to do things alone and that is why I broke up. My friends were like you are crazy. Your wife lets you do whatever you want. But I didn't get married to do whatever I wanted. I got married to have someone to do things with. After we got divorced we stayed friends then she wanted to do things I could not beg her to do before. Shooting range, ride my motorcycle with me. Women.

I will agree though that marriage is overrated. It's no different than living with someone and paying bills together. When I was married me and my wife kept our money separate. She was responsible for the mortgage and I was responsible for all the other bills. Beyond that, my money was mine to do as I pleased with and hers was hers.

I would rather live any kind of life happy than miserable, whether it was married or single. I think the problem is that people don't make their ideas of how they want the relationship to be explicit at the beginning. For example, when I met my present girlfriend I told her outright that I am a player. I made it clear. She said that she didn't care because she does not see that in me. Now I would never disrespect her by being all in the open with it. I still keep what I do discreet. You will be surprised what a woman will go for if you just open your mouth and try to communicate.

I seriously doubt I will get married again. Whenever a chick brings it up I'm like why do I need to? What will it benefit me? All of my bills are paid off. I make a lot of money. I do what I want. I know how to cook and clean. I have never had a problem finding sex partners or girlfriends. So what's in it for me besides the fairy tale that TV and the movies sell? I stopped believing in fairy tales a long time ago. Like Monolith said, half of the time that fairly tale is actually a damn nightmare. But weigh the benefits versus the risks for your personal needs and expectations and see what you come up with. Everybody is different. There is no one size fits all.

Women do not know when you sleep around. What they do know is when you change your pattern. You have come home at the same time for the last 8 years. Now all of a sudden you are coming home later on certain days. Me, I never have a pattern. Women always tell me that they can not figure me out. And they never will because I am very erratic.

When my cousin got married, my dad told told him to never change his pattern. If you have always come in late then keep coming in late. My dad keeps a bottle of Hennessey under the seat in his truck. If he comes in late and has not been drinking then he will still take a swig before he goes into the house so it smells like he has been out drinking.

As much as I want to believe your answer, I also think that its the game of hide and seek and its just matter of when you get caught. Besides one has to live with the guilt of lying to your partner and cheating (which could be rationalized). Its hard to be on your toes all the time and thinking constantly before you act or say anything.

For your way to work, one has to be predetermined and plan his married life and train his brain to act in certain way well in advance. Its possible but difficult. Life could becomes a battle for some people. Most people eventually just give up screwing around. Having said this, I have to admire you for being successful in what you have been doing.

Our hidden emotions and mongering activities could surface unexpectedly as in dreams, or toxicated alcoholic state or extreme guilt or loneliness.

I however do believe that one could hide mongering activities for quite a while compared to flirting or screwing around in home town. The probability of getting caught is higher with romantic relationships, affairs, texts, phone calls, emails, casual flirts than with stranger sexual activities in a different town with no long term emotions involved.

I am just trying to make a healthy and intelligent argument.

People ask me if god and heaven exists and I tell them I found them in Tijuana and Bangkok.

I would like to hear what women have to say? What is their argument against mongering? Do we have a link to a feminist website which discusses this? Do they just argue or actually make an intelligent debate?

What makes marriage, or the idea of marriage attractive?Having family and raising kids is considered one of the utmost pleasures in life. People are getting tired of it and don't see it this way way because of the corrupt society. Its unrealistic expectations, false media and movie representations.

Family brings fulfillment which is far higher than joy. Whats the biological / philosophical reason to monger and sleep with plenty of women? If you analyze, Its continuing healthy progeny who are stronger, pretty and higher in numbers.

I bet most men will be ok with having family if the society follows biology. People who live in asia are married with happy family and kids and continue to monger. Their life is happier than ours. Women there accept it and live with it.

I have never been married and I am just fine with that. For me, mongering satisfies my sexual needs without the work that goes into marriage or family. What makes marriage, or the idea of marriage attractive? The whole point of marriage was to raise kids with a family unit. We see the results of high illegitimacy and single-parent households in every ghetto in the country. If one isn't going to have kids, one could make the case that there is little use in being married.

One major problem in the USA is that feminism has poisoned relations between males and females and completely corrupted the divorce laws. Deadbeat dads are punished but women who squirt out multiple kids, with multiple fathers, with absolutely no way to support them, are lauded as "brave." Women consistently use a man's kids as a weapon.

Yes, there are exceptions. But they are just that. Exceptions.

Marriage can be great fun with a woman who wants to be a wife and a mother and enjoys being a woman. I suggest middle-class Thai women, middle-class Filipinas, middle-class Mexicanas, just to name a few. American women don't make the cut.

Life could becomes a battle for some people. Most people eventually just give up screwing around. Having said this, I have to admire you for being successful in what you have been doing. You may be right. I have never thought of it like that though. Chasing women runs in my family so to me it is first-nature. Most of the men in my family have had kids outside of their marriage and / or been caught cheating. (I only have one child who is 17 years old, and I got a vasectomy today, so it was not as hard for me to learn a lesson as it was for others. 1 dose of 18 years child support did the trick.) It has sometimes led to divorce and at other times they have stayed together.

Even my great-grandfather, who was a preacher, had a kid with his much younger secretary and later married her. So my dad is like the same age as his uncle! It's like water off a duck's back though. Once my maternal grandmother hid on the floor in the back seat of my grandfather's car when he was going to see a woman. When they arrived, she got out the car and shot him with his own gun. Me, my dad, my brothers, my cousins, and my friends all monger together. So for me it has always been normal. For me, the TV family or guy who has to train his brain is unfamiliar. I don't think the men in my family have much of a conscience when it comes to women and pussy. Whenever I meet a new woman the first thing out of my dad's mouth is, "Did she give you some pussy yet?" When I got out of navy boot camp in San Diego, me, my dad, my cousin, and my uncle drove down to Tijuana. When we got to the zona my dad said if I see anything I liked, then it was on him. That was my first time in Tijuana. 24 years ago.

Hi all you dirty ass mongers. I haven't written any posts for a while, and decided I'd visit to say hello, and give my greetings to all my buddies, old and new.

Actually, the real reason I signed in was because I ran into a very sweet lady last night in Adelitas that I have had relations with in the past, but have not seen in a while.

The first words out of her mouth were,"why did you write about me"? I had forgotten that I had posted about her, and honestly replied I wasn't sure what she was talking about.

But then she persisted, and said she knew it was me because some of the details that I had written in my post. Vague memories of the post came back, but I still didn't want to admit to her, so I asked her if it was a good post or bad post. When she agreed that it was a good post, then I jokingly took credit for it. She didn't seem very upset, and luckily it was a fovorable post about her generous services.

Thought it wud be a funny story to share with you guys that I unintentionally outed myself. Guess I have no one to blame but myself. Woops!

Stay safe, abuse that Tijuana pussy, and watch the details you guys write in your posts, otherwise you cud end up outing urself like this dirty ass monger. This chica is STILL giving me the evil eye whenever I see her.

If you're reading this right now; baby, I did it for love. All I ever wanted was to help you, I never shared any private details of you, the moments we shared were magical, and I want to let the whole world to know. Next time I see you, ill buy you a drink, and take you upstairs to remind you why you were born a woman. Ok, besos, bye.

Hmmm. Maybe 'abuse that tijuana' pussy is not a very endearing phrase.

So ill just close with, beat that pussy up!

well i guess it was bound to happen i have been lucky. i have been in tj for 2 1/2 years. i have only seen the policia search mexicans. tonight (sunday) that changed. i was walking past enva. two cops call me over to the car. 2 cops one chico one chica. make me put hand on car. spread my legs and frisk me. chico grabs my passport (i have pesos in it) i grab the pesos. he is asking all kinds of questions hotel? my job, what am i doing in tijuana. now the chica grabs my wallet. i go to grab the money i have in the wallet. chico slams me down on the hood. chica takes out my money (3 $20s 4 $5s) gives it to the chico. looks through my wallet (taking everything out / on the hood.) the cops gave my passport and wallet back. they get in the car and speed off. i check my wallet and those motherfuckers took 2 $20s. my favorite calls me stupido (deserved)! she says never take more than 200 pesos with me (leave the rest in the room) i just love to get yelled at by a puta (even though she was right!) i could not do anything being ganged up on. i thought they were only going after mexican guys! lesson learned. i hate that i have to worry about the cops and not so much the rateros!bienvenidos a tijuana.

you've now had your cherry busted and are a true veteran.

now let's do some monday morning quarterbacking.

you carry a wallet in the zona? some guys carry a decoy wallet and that's ok. but never have something in your wallet you don't want to lose.

carry your money in your front pocket. when stopped, you slowly pull the money out of your pants and hold it in your hand while being searched. you can show them the money but hold onto it. few cops will be so blatant as to take it out of your hand.

it's very difficult, and may not be worth the hassle, but if you can look carefully, note any physical characteristics, time of day, etc, you can file a complaint. they'll ask you to identify the cops in question. that's the hardest part, as i don't think they have badge numbers, or anything like that. again, it may not be worth the hassle for $40, but if the amount were larger it certainly would be.

i have no empirical evidence, but it seems the shakedowns may be increasing. we all need to be on guard at all times, which sucks big time.

glad you made it through it with the loss of "only" $40.

I did some of these things and I thought I was prepared. I had Passport in one front pocket and wallet in the other pocket. I took the Pesos out of my Passport. I did not expect to get TAGTEAMED by them grabing my wallet at the same time. I had more value in the pesos and my passport than my wallet. Only $70 in my wallet but about 1500 pesos. I really was trying to grab my wallet but that fucker smashed my head on the hood of their car, and I think that is when she stole the $40 and gave the remaining dollars to the chico and she rifled my wallet (looking for drogas / they said / Motherfuckers!) As soon as they got what they wanted they got in their car and sped off. Oh well, as you said I am now a true veteran (not a distinction I relish!) As I have said before they seem to go for Mexicans but now more gringos I guess!

my biggest concern is that rip-offs from cops may be on the rise. this is not the only recent report of such.

It is not your fault you lost money. It's those fucking monkeys that wear uniforms. They have been searching Gringos a lot lately. When I left HK to go to Tropical last Friday, I looked both ways before crossing, not for traffic, but for those fucking clowns and their trucks!

The Ready Lane has really been a benifit for me over the last 3 months. However today was a little different. I crossed back to the USA around noon. Althought the lines were not to bad. When I got in line the Ready Lane line was at the exact same spot as the general public line. I still waited in the Ready Lane, which was a mistake the General Public lane ended up moving faster. I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

I think it was due to they had more officers working the general lanes rather than the ready / sentri.

This has only happened to me once, and several months ago, so I don't think it is a sign of any undesirable changes to ready lane. Next time I get into this situation, ill just get into the general lane, and take advantage of the additional staffing.

Seeing as how the ready lane stayed in one single file line. As the general lane gets close to the CBP officers it splits into about 5 lines. Anyway it wasn't that bad of a wait about 25 minutes.

How about making note of the number markings on the car and or the plate numbers? I would think this would be a dead giveaway.

As for money. Keep a limited amount in your pocket for decoy and keep the rest in your sock under the foot.

Its bad enough dealing with dirty corrupt people and even worse when its cops.

i've been going down to tijuana since january of 2013, having moved from san antonio, texas to san diego. at first it was a lot of fun. nice looking women in hk, adelitas, tropical and chevelas. the latter places, tropical and chavelas, didn't have as many good looking women as the other places but there were always a few. i used to frequent tijuana starting back in 1999. at that time up until about 2006, when i moved to texas, the biggest action in town was had in adelitas and chicago. chicago, in my opinion had even better looking chicks than adelitas. boy have things changed, however, i'm burned out on the whole scene.

when i moved to texas, i used to go with a friend down to nuevo laredo. it's a totally different vibe down there. some great bars downtown. the girls down there are a lot mellower and cooler than those in tijuana. you don't get the constant hustle from friggin waiters parading girl after girl over to your table and getting pissed when you don't keep ordering beers. nor do you get scammed like i have been in both tropical and chavelas, where i have been short changed on many occasions. then there are the police. in nuevo laredo, the police had all their weapons confirep001ed and all removed from their jobs due to complicity with the cartel. so, it's only the military policing the town, unlike tijuana, where the damn corrupt cops will rob you blind. i had an experience in tijuana, in the zona norte walking from adelitas to chicago, where 2 male cops stopped me and had me spread eagle on the hood of the car. the next thing i knew, one was pulling a planted baggy of mary jane out of my pocket. they proceeded to drive me around tijuana, rifling through my wallet. i had my driver license and an atm card in my wallet and they demanded i pull money out to compensate for their drugs. i told them i only had about $100 in my account, if that. one of them walked with me over to the atm and made me give him my pin number. then he took it upon himself to do the rest. luckily, i only had $120 in my account and they took it all. got back in the car, they drove me around a little bit and asked me how much i paid to park. i told them 8 bucks. of which they gave me the 8 bucks and dropped me off by the linea. that was real nice of them to do that as i had all kinds of visions of what they could have done to me. they are all a bunch of corrupt bastards. be careful to avoid them at all costs when walking from bar to bar in la zona. it's just a matter of time before they pull something. avoid j walking as they lie in wait to pop you and bribe you out of money. use the crosswalks and do not make eye contact whatsoever with them.

anyway, after getting totally hustled this past week by both waiters and chicas, i am totally burned out on tijuana. to be honest with you, i would say that adelitas is probably your best choice of bars as the waiters are cool and you can actually chill somewhat without getting the hustle. problem is, most of the chicas are professionals, many very hardened. they will take you up to la hotel coahuila and you'll get a knock on the door after about 20 minutes, which is usually the arrangement they have with the towel jockeys. it's all a ripoff! yea, i know some of you will tell me differently, and that's cool. i'm just tired of the whole scene and the hustle.

if you ever want a change of venue, head on over to nuevo laredo. yea, you may still get hustled, but not as much and i think you'll like the cheap drink prices and mellow chicks.

be careful though. in one month a few years ago, saw the aftermath of soldiers riddling a pickup with machine gun fire and seeing the dead in the cab as well as two people getting killed in the bar right before my buddy and i were headed over to it. other than that, it is a fun time.

SAN DIEGO (CNS). The increase in sexually transmitted diseases in San Diego outpaced the nationwide uptick in 2012, according to a report out Monday.

In figures compiled by the USA Centers for Disease Control, increases were discovered both nationally and locally for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis in 2012, the most recent year for which figures are available.

Gonorrhea cases increased 4. 1 percent in the USA for men and women, but the national rate for men was 8. 3 percent. In San Diego, incidences of gonorrhea increased 19 percent to nearly 83 cases per every 100, 000 people. About 30 percent of the cases were in men ages 20-29.

Syphilis went up 11 percent nationally, with three-quarters of the cases involving men who had sex with other men, according to the CDC. The San Diego rate jumped 12 percent in 2012 to 10. 4 cases per every 100, 000 people. 85 percent involving sex between men.

Nationally, chlamydia cases rose 0. 7 percent, compared to 6 percent in San Diego County, according to a report from the county's Heath and Human Services Agency.

Chlamydia rates in San Diego increased from 496 cases per 100, 000 residents in 2011 to 526 cases per 100, 000 residents in 2012. Forty-five percent of the 16, 545 local chlamydia cases were reported in women 24 years of age and under. Rates in men increased 9 percent from 2011 to 2012.

"Sexually transmitted diseases are a silent, national epidemic," said Dr. Wilma Wooten, the county public health officer."Doctors need to talk to their patients, and patients need to be open with their medical providers and disclose their sexual history."

Dr. M. Winston Tilghman, the senior physician and STD controller for the county Health and Human Services Agency, said people can decrease their risk of infection by openly discussing STDs, condom use and mutual monogamy with their partners.

Preliminary figures show the rates of infections per 100, 000 in 2013 were similar to 2012, Tilghman said. He said the 2013 statistics are not yet available for release.

Last year, the county started a free home testing program for gonorrhea and chlamydia available to women 25 and younger that can be accessed at DontThinkKnow. Org or by calling (619) 692-5669.

The county also operates four STD clinics, which offer testing and treatment for most STDs on a walk-in basis. The service is part of the county's Live Well San Diego initiative, which aims to improve the health and well-being of all San Diegans.

More information about STDs is available by calling (619) 293-4700.

WELL IF THE Policia are not bad enough, Cascada gets into the action! They raised the overnight rate by $5. This is the third $5 rate increase in the last 12 months! They reduce the VIP card to 4 months! What else is new! As it is they never have towels in my room when I get there! Good thing I know where their stash is (sheets TP and towels) I always help myself! They do have a 1/2 off Mon & Tue. Rate with VIP.Someone mentioned to me that the Increase in price was not really the fault of Cascada. They said it was because of the new 16% tax increase in Tijuana, and they were just passing it on to us! Mexico and USA, all the same (More tax for less goods!)

Since I usually have no room in Tijuana I have been carrying all my cash on me. I did attempt to sew a hidden pocket into my clothing. But I'm not a good at sewing so I almost lost my money twice. So I have gone back to using my socks as a hiding place. So now I have to ask GSR and others who have been searched how thorough the searches have been. Would it be likely for the monkees to find cash in your socks or shoes?

I try to be always concsious of the police while in the zona. I don't do drugs, and never get really drunk down in the zona, so I think I cud survive through a routine shakedown, but I've always wondered what are your options if the policia plant drugs on you during the shake? Are you basically completely F'd, and have to comply with everything they say?

I've read other reports for routine shakedowns that suggest you can callenge the policia to bring you to the judge, and can expect a relatively unbiased judgement. But does that hold true if the policia has planted drugs on you?

What are your options? What should you do?

I finished up with the "wife" at about 4pm, finished watching the game in my room, and decided to travel to Enva to see if some of my Favorite girls were around. It was about 5:30 and dark. I went past a couple of times and went to the arch mall area. I was going back to my hotel about 6 pm and in front of Enva was a policia car 2 cops and they were shaking down another gringo. As I passed not paying attention they called me over. Not thinking much I walked over. Not scared or anything just thought they wanted to talk. All of a sudden they turned me around, kicked my legs out and put my hands on the car. Instantly went to my passport other girl went to the wallet. I grabbed the pesos in passport. When the wallet came out the guy SLAMMED me on the hood. The girl had my wallet. They were good. I have stopped pick pockets in the US before but these 2 worked in tandem. Obviously not rookies! I could not keep my eyes on both of them. (not that I could do anything anyway. You can't run away from, and I was not doing ANYTHING but walking the street! I still am not effected too much by it, and of course I WILL still go to the Zona. I stay at Enva often "TLN"for a cheap alternative especially when I want an extended session with one of the Enva cuties! You know you guys ask about putting cash in your shue / socks. I don't and won't. Shit happens in all cities. (the cop situation was getting better / past few years) has the new government changed things back to the good ole bad days?

what are your options? what should you do?i have had friends who were asked to pay fines for trumped up traffic offenses such as speeding, running a stop light, etc. in these situations, you can sometimes do a 360 on the corrupt policia by saying you want to go before the judge to file a complaint. from my friends' experience, the policia at this point will generally lower the mordida (bribe) down to a low amount (usually 20 dollars) or just let them go.

now, as far as the planted drugs go, i think you would pretty much be screwed. generally speaking, the policia will ask for a larger "fine" in the several hundred dollar range while threatening to take you to jail where it will cost your family thousands and thousands of dollars, including hiring a lawyer to get you out. so, in this case, i would try to negotiate a lower fine and pay the damn thing to get out of jail free.

i was traveling with my friend in a border town outside texas called ciudad acuna and got stopped by the cops heading to a hotel in the early morning. the pricks said we were speeding and demanded 40. 00 so they could go get "breakfast." my friend, being the wise character he is, told them they can easily get breakfast for $20.00, of which they obliged.

here is another story. a couple of years ago, i had a friend and his brother traveling to san miguel near ensenada to go surfing. a mexican driver hit them blindside. they weren't carrying mexican insurance. they got thrown in jail, as you are guilty until proven innocent in good ole mexico, for an entire month. they were told to get a lawyer to handle the case. well, to make a long story short, they were able to get out of jail as my friend's cousin works for the fbi and got ahold of the us consulate in mexico, who in turn made a deal with the government to have them pay 5k to get out. mind you, they were not at fault for the accident. so, the theme is is never, never drive in mexico without mex insurance.

hope this helps.

ArtisttypReynosa is pretty much a bust. Nuevo Laredo had a red light district similar to Tijuana's Zona Norte. Used to frequent Nuevo Laredo's zona back in 2006. It was an awesome, fun place. There was a strip club down there called Danash that had the absolute best looking women I have ever seen anywhere. Well, Nuevo Laredo is home to the Zeta cartel. As things started heating up back then, the gringos quit going down to the zona. At this time, it is not worth going to. As a result, the action shifted to the downtown area, very close to the linea. There are some bars down there that are funner than hell. At La Montera bar, there is a live band that plays like from 5pm. 2am every day. You can grab a chica and dance and have a great time. Now, the quality and quantity of women in these bars is nowhere close to the calibre of Tijuana. With that said, there will always be a handful of good looking chicas to be found. The attraction for me, for example in the bar La Montera, is great waiter service and friendliness, totally cheap beers and mixed drinks (a chicas beer is $2. 00) , and no hustle whatsover. When this bar closes at 2am, everybody heads over to another bar called Jorochos until about 5am, which has been packed recently. There are some cool restaurants down in Nuevo and it's just a totally more mellow vibe than Tijuana.

Now, let me make it clear. You may be underwhelmed by the level of talent upon your first visit, but there are always a handful of good looking, attractive women to choose from. Things are a lot slower and mellower down there. No friggin policia to hassle you. Bbond, who often posts on this site, is the resident expert in Nuevo Laredo. Either of us can offer additional information. I'm heading out there on 1/31 if anyone is interested in meeting me out there. I'll show your around.

Nor do you get scammed like I have been in both Tropical and Chavelas, where I have been short changed on many occasions..That's a scary story. I never knew they took it so far as to plant drugs. That sucks. I'm glad you made it home.

I understand getting tired of the hustle. That's why I quit going to Tijuana for a long time, and just saved my Tijuana money for brazil. I mongered less per year, but when I went to brazil, I mongered like a rockstar. Unfortunately,Brazil is like Manhattan in price, so I am back in Tijuana. It really is a good value mongering destination, but its a shame we have to deal with the waiters, cops, and barkers. That being said, I will be back next month.

This makes the 20 bucks I paid for pissing in the parking lot sound almost fun. My buddy got nailed also for stealing sunglasses and only paid 40 bucks to go home.

Sorry that happened to you pal.

Hey all,

I've been trying to read and catch up with posts about crossing the border. I'm completely aware that you can cross into Tijuana with basically no form of ID and they're not checking. Back the other way is different though, obviously in the good ol USA.

I do not have a SENTRI card, and I'm under the knowledge they take a while to get. I have a passport, but it's expired. I have a valid driver's license, but not from a border state (from New England).

Now obviously I can get a SENTRI card or renew my passport, but both of those take a while. I was hoping to get down to Tijuana next week during my forced vacation days.

Has anyone got through the border with just their state driver's license? Or an expired passport? Is it simply not worth the risk of what could happen (what could happen at worst?)

Thanks guys, stay safe.

Thanks guys, stay safe. There are people who don't have any form of I'd at all. Legally they can't keep you from entering back to the US if you're a citizen or a permanent resident. They'll probably ask for your social security # and look you up that way or they will send you to secondary for some "interrogating".

They may even threaten you with some hefty fines. But again they can't legally do that as well.

Thanks guys, stay safe.I've done it twice with only a valid driver license. First time was because I forgot my passport, and second time was because my passport was being renewed.

Both times I explained the reason, and the boarder agents told me that as long as I had EVER had a valid passport at any time during my life, then could look me up.

They asked me a few verification questions, and let me go with no trouble. As long as you are really who you say you are, then you should have no problem.

The last time was about a year ago, so I cannot comment if the rules have changed since then.

Sunday 1/13. I crossed the border at san yisidro and the guy in front if me had no passport only a Atlanta I'd. He had no trouble crossing. He just said his passport was getting renewed. All you need is a valid I'd and a reasonable excuse and that's all it'll take if you are a US citizen.

The whole time he worried about if he was going to have a problem crossing back. It was a lot of worry for nothing. He just told them he was so embarrassed for forgetting his passport. He had a DL and a Ralphs card, he had no problem didn't even take him any extra time to cross.

Reynosa is pretty much a bust.

I'll show your around.Thank You for your response and your offer to turn me onto NL. You should consider becoming a senior member so people can send you a PM. I'd like to get in contact with you.

There is now a rope along the sidewalk all the way back to the taxi drop off that leaves the previous lanes open for Sentri and for anyone entering Mexico. The Ready lane and General lane now curve to the left under the curvy bridge and stay along the wall until where the entrance steps used to meet the line. Seemed more practical to keep those entering Mexico from having to cross through those leaving. Plus it left the Sentri Lane entirely empty. The line yesterday morning at 11am was maybe an hour, today at the same time, it was 2 hours.

Just a quick note. If you happen to be near Plaza Rio, and are hankering for some great tacos, I have just the place.

Keep going southeast along Paseo de los Heroes, through the Cuahutemoc glorieta (roundabout) to the Abraham Lincoln glorieta (it's actually walkable if you like). Just past Honest Abe (again, southeast bound) , you'll find an Office Depot on the south side of the street. Parked next to it you'll find a gourmet taco truck. It's there every day but Sunday, but only until 4pm.

Chile relleno tacos, milanesa tacos, pollo mole tacos, Spanish chorizo tacos, and a bunch of other exotic combinations. They're all 13MX/$1US. Well worth the trek.

Can someone tell me what the exchange rate is on the San Diego side. I checked xe. Com, and it shows 1327 pesos for 100 dollars. If I remember correctly, thats pretty high. Is it not? What time do the exchange places open / close on the US side. I remember seeing the rate was alot higher on the US side compared to mexico. If I get to the border by 6 am, is that 2 early to exchange money.

Thanks for your great info. I was in Plaza Rio area this past weekend. I saw the Office Depot. I will certainly try the tacos next time. There is one restaurant a few blocks away. It is called "La Casa De Mole", a very well known and popular restaurant in Tijuana. All the taxi drivers should know it. $1. 00 ride from Plaza Rio. There is live piano music and the food is simply fantastic. The place is always full and the service is very good. Price wise, it is also very reasonable.

Yeah going to bars and clubs and banging girls are on the top of my list of things to do, but there is nothing better than having a good taco on the walk back to Hotel Ticuan. My favorite is going to Playboy Club for 2for1 beers, then HK and Adelitas, bang an alley girl or 2, finally a few tacos. So far the best tacos for me is a little cart on the southwest corner of Revolucion and Calle Septima, out front of the OXXO store. Damn I can't wait!

But I haven't really found the need to change any money the last couple of visits, just about everywhere knows the exchange rate. AB, HK, LC all have signs up saying they'll take either, basically. San Ysidro was hovering around 12. 969, with Tijuana around 12. 7. I have found you are better off paying dollars in the bars. But when it comes to SG's definitely use pesos. While they will always quote 20 dollars as a base price, you can always counter with 200 pesos regardless of the exchange rate and they will gladly accept. A savings for you for sure. As far as Cambios and 6 a. M. I can't help you there I'm sleeping at that time.

I've read generally good reviews of these, but not tried myself. It is available at Farmacia similares and other places in Tijuana. I'm planning to try Maxifort on my next trip- there is at least one other generic vitamn V in production, possibly more. Also, Farmacia Similares does not carry Kamagra, according to their website. Better still, the Maxifort is cheap. 299 pesos for 10 x 100 mg pills.

I use pesos for everything except for tipping the girls after I put my hands all over them. They at least deserve a dollar fir that. Best dollar ever spent. A week ago I was quoted $80 and I countered with $60. She said no, $80 I said $70. She said no $80. I said I'll give you $800 pesos but that's my final offer. She said let's go. I basically paid $60 US dollars by paying the $800 pesos. Exchange rate was at 12. 96 to $1. I exchange money at the stand next to where you buy your trolley tickets.

The rates are a bit better going from dollars to pesos in San Ysidro. The rates are a bit better going from pesos to dollars in Tijuana. I don't think the exact kiosk makes much difference.

Be careful on the Tijuana side. On my first ever attempt to exchange on the Tijuana side I mistakenly went into the jewelry business next to an exchange place; the attendant tried to pass me a bad counterfit $100 bill. By bad I mean wrong color, too small, and made of cheap paper.

Headed down Friday and got my room at the Ticuan. The front desk sweetie confirmed what another board member mentioned, the prices of the rooms were raised because of the tax increase; damn taxes! And yes, the hotel seems to be full of huge medical patients! As I was leaving to return to San Diego, there were three monster truck size women on the sidewalk in their pajamas having a relaxing smoke. Lucky for me, my stomach was empty.

One of my favorite girls showed up and early to boot. We hung at the bar for a while and up to the room for rack operations and a much needed nap. I have been meaning to try the Italian place a block from the hotel, Vittorio's; so off we went. At 6:45, the place was packed and there was a short waiting list. We ordered the meat lasagna for two and a liter of the sangria; both were really good. After dinner, I sent her packing and I headed to la coahuila.

I was sitting in HK when I felt this pair of hands covering my eyes and she wanted me to guess she was. After I spitted out 15 or more names, I just gave up. When I saw her I was surprised to see Little Liz. Hell, she has been gone for a couple of years, how in the hell could I possibly guess who in the hell she was? Except maybe for the little hands. We reunited in the booth, but I was too worn out to take her up to the room.

Decided to make some rounds. Walked through LC, nothing earth shattering in sight. Went over to BT and met a new friend that was sitting on the stool next to mine. She did not speak English, so I enticed her with my shitty Spanish; worked out great. Over to Gloria and had a drink with a few of my pals. Then it was time for a spicy shrimp taco, stand just outside of BG. Then off to CC to have a drink with one of my favorites.

All in all, it was a great night. I only saw two police trucks and they seemed to stop molesting the tourists. Or maybe they were just taking a break for one night; who knows? Coming back at 11am on Saturday, there was no line whatsoever outside the main entrance. The only long line inside was in the Ready Lane; go figure.

I was down in Tijuana for the weekend and it was just going to be a trip to hang out with the GF, no Zona Norte, so I thought. We did the usual dancing and drinking at Las Pulgas on Saturday night. We were about to leave at about 12:30, when she decided to check on her 19 year old son who was possibly going to meet us at Las Pulgas. She reached him by phone, and he said he was at a bar called El Coral. She told him to wait and we would meet him there. She figured it was one of those bars on calle six. But after walking around for a bit we couldn't find it. El Coral then it hit me that bar is home to the infamous BJ Queen, its located ground zero in the middle of the alley. So off we were to Zona Norte and she didn't seem to happy about her oldest son discovering Zona Norte.

When we arrived he actually seemed happy to see his mother. A Zona bar would be the last place I would want to run into my mother. So as mother and son stood in the aisle with there arms around each other and having a talk I just grabbed a booth and ordered a beer. I'm sure she was warning him about all the heartless bitches of Zona Norte who were only after his money. Hey she should now these were her co workers for years. So after a little while a gringo walks in and sits in the booth right next to mine, and he is just kind of scoping things out. So eventually the GF is finished talking with her son and she comes up to me with her hand out, I say you need dinero Ms and she says Si, I hand her a dollar and she gives it back and says mas I pull out a $10 and she grabs it and gives it to the kid and takes my hand and we head for the door. As I was walking out I turned and looked at the fellow gringo and he was scrathing his head and had the look of what the fuck was that all about. So if that was an ISG member now you know the story.

As we were waiting for our room at the love motel. She got very serious and started talking about how she has been both a mother and father to her children, and now she wants me to take on the role of father and have a talk with her son telling him what a bad place the Zona. Of course I'm not sure I will be able to do that seeing as how I see it as heaven on earth. I have often wondered whether it would be a good idea to introduce my son. I would love to watch his face the first time he would be exposed to it. But then again I don't think I would want to see him get addicted and blow all his money down there. So I guess now I'm curious if any of you were introduced to mongering by a father or if you were able to enjoy some time with a son in Zona Norte.

I have been spending pretty much time in Tijuana without any kind of incidents. However this trip produced 2 scarey moments. First one was while we were taking a cab out of the Zona. The cab started sputtering in that bad area were all the deportees are encamped. The driver pulls over and turns the cab off grabs a big wooden club and gets out. I wasn't sure if I should be more scared about where we were stopped or what he planned on doing with that club. Anyway he approached the back door and then layed down and started beating the gas tank. And pretty soon we were rolling again. And then on Monday when she was going to drop me off, she came very close to changing lanes right into a motorcycle cop. As I yelled NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! She stopped. She then proceeded to tell me it would have been the cops fault because he should have known she needed to change lanes.

I really don't have anything to hide from them so I told them a few stories. They didn't know I had been to Tijuana before and started asking a bunch of questions. Their wives / girlfriends were not happy how interested they were at my stories. I don't think some of them will be allowed to travel to socal with me anytime soon. Haha.

I went by around 2 pm checked Adelitas about 15 girls and 2 guys. I felt like a piece of meat LOL the way they were trying to lure me into choosing them LOL. There were about 15 street walkers out. I only really found one I liked. $25 bucks and she offered everything. Not the $40 like normal. Must be slow! Coming back took 5 minutes to get thru the sentri line.

I'm going this next Sunday afternoon (yes, I know the days of the week!), if anyone would like or like to act a wingman. I'm comfortable & have been going there over 25 years, but always down to learn something new. Will drive from SD walk from fronterra / taxi back & focus on a Zona tour then prolly settle in to AB or HK. Good chance of a SG in there somewhere, as well. If we do join forces, no commitment, we'll team us only as long as we both want to. Wish me luck, if not.

I had some free time on Friday, so I decided to do a Monty Python and go for something completely different. I contacted a new CL chica. She was of a type that I suspect very few board members would consider, me included. But, WTF. The price seemed right. Whatever doesn't kill me, and all that nonsense. (I'll be a bit vague because I took GSR's post to heart)

I was a tad late, she was later. But we met at one of the No-Tels. After relaxing over a couple of beers and breaking the ice, she started to molest me a bit. Then we started some nice DFK and mutual groping. She then started to undress me and it was on.

What followed next was the better part of three hours of furious f*cking. Every orifice was on the menu, although I didn't avail myself of the greek. Maybe next time. She had a rather large, very hard, clit that she loved to have rubbed and sucked. After several minutes of that she stopped me and said "Fuck me!" Who was I to argue? As I pounded away in mish, every few seconds I could feel her pussy go into orgasmic spasms. I lost count after about six.

She absolutely loved perrito and wanted it hard. The harder I slammed, the more she screamed for more. I had to stop every so often to keep from busting. Then I'd start up again until the next time. I finally had to stop and rest for a minute.

After a few minutes, using her mouth and hand, she got me ready again, then asked for more perrito. Dayum. After another furious several rounds I couldn't take any more and, per her request, finished all over her ass.

I collapsed on the bed for a while. We finally roused ourselves, took a shower and got dressed. Then out for a quick bite to eat and we went our separate ways. I must say that I had a hard time walking down the stairs. :)

The damage was a couple of beers, a few tacos, the price of the hotel and about 1200 pesos, including roughly 150 tip. I have to say it was the most intense experience I've had in several years.

If so, just go through the Ready Lane. If not, I'm told you can go through the regular lane. They will probably give you shit.

I did notice the one next to the McDonalds is open 24 hrs.

On a side note, I have never seen this before but on Saturday, on the corner between the Jack in the Box and the trolley station there were a bunch of SD police officers doing some kind of special enforcment looking for pedestrian violations. They were writing many tickets for jay walking and crossing against the light. So I guess we have something else to watch out for as we anxiously make our final approach to MX.

I am sorry, But I am NO fan of Law Enforcement! On either side of the border. I work in Coronado and know several police officers. They are ALL assholes. YMMV but to me the power goes to their head. I watch them hide (Coronado police) in the bushes and shine their cameras on cars "leaving Coronado to go over the bridge". A real Safety hazard for the poor RICH folks in Coronado! Well it does not matter what side of the border they work for! It seems to be "culturally excepted" in Mexico to pay them off (Police) and generally being assholes! In the US no payoff (unless you are a SD cop- one convicted last year for extorting sex from a drunk woman) He is in jail, getting all the sex he needs now!

I know that regular US serviceman are not allowed to go to Tijuana, and I think I heard cops are not supposed to go either, I could be wrong. I know a few who do go. CBP agents are not the "happiest bunch" of people either, A lot have no Idea about Mexico and have no info on culture and people in general. Of course this is only MY opinion!

And they said he deserves a new trial! I take it back, maybe the police in the SD district can be bribed!

Hey all,

I was starting to make plans for my first trip of this year and it just so happens that I'll be able to be there during Cinco de Mayo. Should I stay away during that holiday as they jack up prices and it gets too crowded or would it be a fun experience to be there for this holiday? Any and all suggestions and comments are welcome. PM as well if you can.

Thanks in advance.

I suspect 90% of a cop's job these days is "revenue enhancement." Tax collectors for the welfare state. The other 10% is probably looking for some poor bastard to beat the shit out of.

I talked to a friend today that was at a massage parlor in socal during a raid today. I trust him and he has no reason to lie to me. Here's what he told me verbatim.

"Went in and was waiting for masseuse to come in. While waiting, heard a ton of commotion from outside, banging on the door, lots of yelling. Cops.

Waited in the room and they came in. The door to the room was wide open because he was waiting still. They were there in full on raid gear. Body armor, helmets, assault rifles, masks, the whole nine yards. Told him to get face down on the ground, which he did, while they completed the raid. For about 10 minutes he waited on the ground with a cop over him, gun drawn, finger on trigger. Now keep in mind, my friend works in a professional atmosphere and is very respectful. He looked to the side and up at the cop and noticed the gun pointing right at him. He asked the cop, are you pointing that gun at my head. Another cop said, yes he is, don't move. After the 10 minutes or so went by, he was grouped with the masseuses and one client. Cuffed and gave personal info, name, dob and address in front of all the other people and the other client. There were about 15 cops in raid gear and about 5 other "suits". They were all proud of their raid and accomplishment. He was then taken into another room for questioning. He was just there for a massage, so he was not arrested. They said that those places are human traffickers and the women are forced to work there. Mentioned a few websites and asked if he was familiar with them. Cop asked which vehicle was his, he said oh ok, you just got here. We've been watching this place all day. Questioned, detained, and released. They walked him to the front door and said, you're free to go, but would you mind sticking around until we question everyone else. He said, I'm free to go? They said yes. He said, you just had a gun pointed at my head and cuffed me. I'm leaving.

End of story."

I couldn't believe he told me this. He was completely freaked out, fearing a criminal charge and physical harm during the process until he was released. Thoughts of his professional reputation, picture in the news, etc. I have been to Tijuana several times now and I appreciate even more the zona. I believe that the women in the zona have less miles than massage parlor girls. You can actually enjoy your time in the zona, enjoy a personal experience, chatting, etc. Not so much of a factory feeling. I'm sure for the price of 1 parlor girl I can have 2 chicas, a couple beers and some tacos. When there is a knock on the door, it's not cops in raid gear.

I personally think it's pathetic that this type of raid is seen as a success and a good use of police assets. Get a fuckin life. Go bust some gangbangers or some drug dealers. Really. 15 cops with assault rifles? Wafj. If they were watching the place they probably had an idea of who was inside so were they really feeling that threatened.

Yes I realize the zona and Tijuana is not a place to let your guard down but I'll take my chances.

The days of protect and serve are gone. Now they only enforce laws, collect revenue and act like thugs.

What city was this raid? I want to make sure I avoid it.

In the US, city halls, mayors, city council members, police chiefs, district attorneys are all elected officials and they are all political animals. They mostly whooore themselves out to those who have the most political pressure and can bring most bribes / contribution to their elections.

I suspect local police are under directions from city councils to respond to local complaints. They don't do raids unless someone file complaints and convince the police and district attorneys there are strong evidence crimes were being committed against city ordinances, and there are valid legal bases for them to spend manpower on stake outs and raids, and the city can justify the risks of their policemen get shot, injured or killed in the raids. When the pigs get hurt, they will squeal and sue all involved. City halls do have to vet these raids carefully.

Unlike most other countries, including Western Europe, we in the US are living under very strict laws and lots of restraints. The US society is so rigid it protects the population fairly well, but gives the rest little choices, liberties and reliefs. So there are a trade offs. I would live in a safe town and go into sketchy towns for entertainment. Man, I miss those beautiful Korean girls who used to work in Los Angeles. I uised to take trips into the exotic urban jungle of downtown Los Angeles to visit them.

In my area, a young cop was working as collector / enforcer under the table for loan sharks. They loan cash to desperate women to start up massage joints and naked / touchy cafes at 5% per month or 60% interest a year. The US economy is SHIT. These women are starving so they would take out very expensive loans to sell pussies so they can feed their families. This asshole cop would come by with his friends in their squad cars to harass and raid the shops who are behind in payment. He and his friends probably got a lot of free pussies out of those shops in the last few years too. After a while, the women could not put up with his harassment so they squealed and the city arrested to corrupt cop. He's probably having a lot of sex everyday in county jail waiting for trial.

Instead of raids and potential violence, US cities should decriminalize prostitution to protect both sellers and buyers against [CodeWord908] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord908), exploitation, abuses, diseases etc. And collect taxes. A few states have started decriminalizing Marijuana. So perhaps prostitution may be next on the calendar?

Make prostitution legal so the women can pay tax, prove incomes and get big bank loans to expand their businesses.

the days of protect and serve are gone. now they only enforce laws, collect revenue and act like thugs.the militarization of the police is a very disturbing, and very serious trend.

here's a raid, similar to the one described below, on a tn parlor. note the 6-month investigation, arrest for "massaging an erogenous zone" and confirep001ion of all cash.

http://www.policestateusa.com/2013/swat-raid-friendly-massage-parlor-tennessee/

here's a think piece from salon. note the ending, where proponents insist the militarization of the police is just right-wing kook fantasy.

here the sf swat is deployed to arrest one "violent" gang member. one.

and here's the video of the raid in ankeny, ia, the other day. yes, dangerous criminals suspected of credit card fraud require about a dozen heavily armed assholes to break in and terrorize everybody. the police department's excuses are laughable.

First off, the I-5 northbound on-ramp will be shut down again, this time from February 10th until March 24th. So we will have to truck it though lovely San Ysidro once again to return. On Friday, the exchange rate was 12. 90 at the store nearest the border.

After a couple of great tacos, I settled in at HK for a while. Ran into a couple of older favorites while checking out some new faces, and asses of course. The mesero push is now those damn calendars. The poor bastards have to carry them around until they sell theirs. The last mesero I talked to was willing to give the damn thing up for 3 bucks. Maricóand was ancy and kept pointing out women, but I was more in the street girl mode today. Besides, the two girls I had my eyes on were quite busy, no worries, I only live 20 minutes away.

Went though LC a couple of times. The music was different and I even saw 4-5 thin chicas; WTH? I hit the alley and it seems most of the girls have returned for duty, and there were more than usual; so it seemed. I decided to grab one of my favorite street girls and head to the Five Star Resort Los Monitos. When I walked in the room, I was surprised that the hotel changed the ceiling; it was quite nice. New lamp with nice blue lighting. The rest of the room was still crappy, but laying down while getting blown was more enjoyable.

Damn, worked up an appetite, so I headed to Nikki's for the first time this new year. I stayed away from Nikki's because the monkey police stopped me twice on that road. Went upstairs and ordered my favorite dish, the chicken in wine sauce; it was excellent. A few new faces were present. One of the girls came over and she spoke English and we chatted for a bit. I was a bit disappointed because I did not have a chance to amaze her with my shitty Spanish speaking skills; so be it.

Headed over to Tropical to see the chica that partied with me in HK last week, but I guess I paid her too much, because she wasn't there. Maybe she retired off that small fortune I gave her? Sat at the bar and then one of the meseros came over and announced that one of my favorite girls was no longer UA and returned to full duty. He grabbed her and my drinks and we went in the very back of the club. This mesero, BTW, is the most aggressive mesero in la coahuila and the last time I dealt with him was about 4 months ago. I thought I would give him a second chance; didn't work out.

First off, my girl pounded the first beer and I said,"What in the fuck happen to your beer?" She laughed and replied,"I was thirsty and it's a little bottle." My reply,"Are you still thirsty?" She said,"Not as much." I replied,"OK, I will buy you another if you are not that thirsty and make the next little beer last longer than the last little beer." She gave me the thumbs up! She poured half of the beer in her glass and was taking her time drinking. Meanwhile, when I was giving her some sugar, the fucking mesero took the rest of the bottle and walked away. The asshole returned and asked if I wanted to buy another. I was pissed, I told the cocksucker,"You will never, not fucking ever, be my mesero again! Get the fuck away from us and never return!" He seemed confused, but left nevertheless.

I wanted to cool off before returning to San Diego, so I stopped in CC. I really like the bartender there. He fucked up once with me a couple of years ago by opening a beer I didn't ask for, thus, I did not pay for the beer. We have been on good terms ever since. There were a few new faces in CC, but the place was still lacking customers. I grabbed my favorite girl and she eased my nerves within minutes. I wish I had more time and money to spend with the girls that I really like; life sucks that way. I was out of Tijuana within 8 hours, for two weeks in a row! the militarization of the police is a very disturbing, and very serious trend.

here's a raid, similar to the one described below, on a tn parlor. note the 6-month investigation, arrest for "massaging an erogenous zone" and confirep001ion of all cash.

http://www.policestateusa.com/2013/swat-raid-friendly-massage-parlor-tennessee/

here's a think piece from salon. note the ending, where proponents insist the militarization of the police is just right-wing kook fantasy.

here the sf swat is deployed to arrest one "violent" gang member. one.

and here's the video of the raid in ankeny, ia, the other day. yes, dangerous criminals suspected of credit card fraud require about a dozen heavily armed assholes to break in and terrorize everybody. the police department's excuses are laughable.

this whole thing has been a pet peeve for a long time. it seems to just be getting worse.well who needs tijuana when you are a san diego cop? on the news now another cop under arrest for extorting a helpless woman into giving him "head" to get out of a ticket! well you can say it is "cheaper" than tijuana. well i guess the cop will be getting all the "head" he needs in jail! (probably not the gender he would prefer!)

if they insist on going down this path, the people they face will excellerate their own deployment of weapons. as time goes on, this will only put themselves at risk as the people deploy wmds that defeat their mechanized combat gear. they will get precisely what they ask for. i, for one, will hold no sympathy for so-called "law enforcement" when they begin to live with the consequences of their own decisions.

I'm a once familiar face in Adelita's- missing Hottie Central and the Mexico I still keep in my heart. I'll be in Medellin this spring, but wish I could still go to Tijuana. Take heart- if they can clean Colombia up, there's hope for Mexico. Mong on, Mongers.

Nothing to do tonight and no commitments early tomorrow. A buddy and I are heading down to AB or HK in a couple hours. We should get there around 11pm . Send me a PM if you want to meet up. (New to the board, not new to mongering)

Also, if anyone knows of any GFE or mostly GFE girls that are cute at either, would you send me info?

Cheers

First, to each his own (thank God, or we'd all be chasing the same thing & only the richest would win!). Part of my enjoyment is the hunt & seeing what's on the menu. So. I had great time, even if it was a Sunday afternoon, with all of those inherent limitations. Made all the rounds, sat & played with a dozen of attractive women, got plenty of walking exercise, drank some beers with great scenery, and got laid. I've had worse days.

For the gormands, who want me to "cut to the chase", only "closed the deal" with two: Debbie SW just outside Gloria's Coahuila door. Begrudgingly accepted 250 pesos for sin todas ropas, BJ, sex. And Osiris at Mermaids, believe it or not. I've usually been in Adelita guy & just dabbled in HK & LC. Really didn't expect to find anything there, especially on a Sunday afternoon. TINY spinner, very pretty smile, truly amazing T&A (both) & very nice. Little on the timid / shy side, definitely not wild in bed. More like seducing the very tight GND. Not usually my style. But her body & smile closed the deal & made it worthwhile. Above average massage, too! Great time & what I thought was a great price: $70 (wanted 1300 exchange rate!) all inclusive hour. No upsell for cuarto, toallas, condom, more time, etc. True hour, no knock, and didn't even have to walk outside to street (access through side door to separate entrance to upstairs.

Just for the research & experiences, tried all the bars on "the block", but don't remember all the names; Gloria's, the three on the opposite side of the alley from HK / LC, playboy, etc, etc. Predictable quantity & quality, but not a "waste', for me.

Going again this afternoon, if anyone wants to meet. Will check here before I leave. Expect to be in the Zona around 2p. I usually walk to / from fronterra / linea in daylight, taxi after dark.

Happy hunting, be safe, and soak up the experience!

1) Regular members don't have access to the PM system. You have to be a premium member for that.

2) Posts from regular members are delayed pending moderation, which means your post wasn't seen until it was too late.

I've recently rediscovered the joys of Tijuana. I've been going down often. I've had a few minor experiences with the girls at HK, nothing to write home about. I've got my eye on a couple at AB. I'll post a report if I meet someone extraordinary. So far the standard. $60 $80 to go upstairs etc.

I get down there a few times a week. At HK I like them to get me a seat up on that balcony area. Sometimes I'm by myself, sometimes with a group or a hot red head (wing woman). If I have a sweatshirt on, you can verify it's me by seeing Zenshinzo on my left side or Studio 4Q on the back.

Say hi if you see me.

So I have been to Tijuana at least 8 times now over the last few years, I love that place, it's a grown man's paradise. And I have never had any problems. I stick to the rules, don't act out of line and don't do anything stupid. This last visit was still awesome except I had some bad things go down. First of while in the strip club dolce cabana, I lost or someone stole at least $600. That really sucked but I sucked that up to my own mistake, not keeping tighter grip on my money. But then later that morning after leaving the club probably around 6am when the sun was barely up I was walking on the sidewalk when someone snatched my gold chain from around my neck. I suspect he was scoping me out while I was in the clubs because I kept my chain inside myself shirt. But as I was walking down the sidewalk I felt a quick jerk from behind and before I knew what was happening this scumbag was running off, I tried to run after him but he got away. So sad, because this chain was of sentimental value as my mother gave me that chain over 20years ago. And to top it all off I made the stupid decision in staying In a very high priced hotel in one of there best rooms (Camino Real) I was paying $200 a night, I later kicked myself on why I did that when last time I was in a decent room at hotel America for only $45 a night. Oh well, these are all lessons I learn so next time I'll be a lot more cautious and smarter in my future trips.

I am very sorry to hear about what happened to you with the stolen money and gold chain. I had a similar thing happen to me down in Nuevo Laredo in a shitty, dive bar. My advice is to not stray from the main bars. Adelitas, Hong Kong, Chavelas, Tropical, Chicago. While I have been ripped off by cheating ass waiters in Tropical, most of these other places have honest, hard working people that will look after you. The Camino Real is too far from these bars. Stay at Hotel Ticuan or it's sister hotel Aqua Rio. The latter is only $32 a night.

Better luck next time man!

You spent 200 a night in Mexico! You ever heard of the internet to search for the price or this board to get the heads up. You know, I really have no sympathy for some of the bone head guys that post these things. Sometimes I think you guys grew up in a sheltered home in beverly hills with butlers and maids, and then you were dropped off by helicopter from your mansion in LA to tijuana to bang hookers. Its one thing if you posted the cops shook you down, or a waiter ripped you in HK, but to wear a gold chain that had value to you in Tijuana is downright stupid.

The chain was tucked under my shirt so no one could see it, it's not like I was flashing it all around. This is a chain I always wear I never take it off, including in all my previous trips to Tijuana. The person that stoked it was no doubt scoping me out in a club and maybe got a glimpse of the chain. And second if you paid attention to my post I indicated last time I stayed at Hotel America for $45. So I'm aware of the hotel options I only did this because it was a special weekend. But later I regretted it.

Helprules I'm sure nothing ever bad happens to you and you always make the right decisions. [Deleted by Admin].

It is a mostly locals only bar with girls that all wear the same school girl looking outfits. These are some of the most boring unfriendly girls I have ever seen. Will never approach you. The place doubles as a massage parlor. It is bazaar. Every hour or so the overseeing matron of the place does an all girl call where all the girls up and go with her into another room to return 10 mins. Later. While some of the girls are really good looking, place is a piece of crap unless you just want to relax and drink a beer as a prelude to hitting the Coahuila.

Listen to advice, but make your own decision. Local bars can be a lot of fun. Mexicans take a back seat to no one when it comes to partying. In the local bars the women rarely come up to the guys. It's not done. They may stare at you and do their best to make eye contact, but they'll never come up to the guy. HK is the exception because it's run like a gringo bar. That's one reason the meseros in some places drag girls around to the gringos. They know the lady won't approach the customer and the gringo customer is too shy to approach the lady.

I keep meaning to poke my head in, but I've either been on my way elsewhere or was put off by the PITA touts that sometimes try to nab you as you come out of Ticuan.

I've been lax on reporting, so I'll try to catch up a bit. This is a foodie report, so those looking for cheap titillations should skip to the next one. LOL.

I was down the other weekend, spending the night with one of my CL faves. I asked what she wanted for dinner. She said Mexican food. OK, sez I, let's try Cien Anos. I've never been.

It's located next door to Hotel Real del Rio (I wasn't staying there this time, but I'll post a TR about it later). It's easy to miss because the sign is only on the door and not terribly obvious from the street.

So, we get there and she orders a salad! WTF? Later I asked about it, and she said she meant tacos and enchiladas. So, if you're looking for traditional Mexican food, don't bother. But if you like good seafood and steaks, this is right up your alley.

The place is rather small and sparsely decorated in a sort of traditional Mexican hacienda style, and I'm using the term loosely. But it's comfortable and the service is very attentive.

Anyway, they have some delicious hot, dense dinner rolls they serve you first. They didn't have a salad that met her tastes, so the chef custom made a very nice one, and he also whipped up some custom creamy blue cheese dressing. So, the service is top notch.

I tried the camarones de aguachile. Delicious, and extremely spicy. Fiery, actually. The main was Camarones de XXXXX (It's a guy's name, but I've forgotten it). Again, superb. Grilled shrimp with a very spicy sauce somewhat like Chinese chili oil, but a different flavor and much spicier. All of this was accompanied by a rather decent house Tempranillo, probably from L. A. Cetto.

We were both full but she wanted something sweet. We decided to split some ice cream, but they were out. Lucky us. We tried the flan instead and this is some of the best flan you'll find in Baja. The flan itself was delicious but the caramel was some of the best I've tasted. It was just on the edge of being burnt, but wasn't. This imparts a delicious sort of smoky flavor (for lack of a better term) to the caramel. Well worth going back just for that.

So, the custom salad and dressing, appetizer, entrée, two glasses of wine for me, a beer for her, the flan, plus a nice tip, came to somewhere around 800 pesos. Reasonable, IMHO.

However, what was not reasonable was the "band." There were three strolling musicians. Now, to be fair, they were quite good. Bass violin, violin, guitar, if memory serves. I figured why not, and had her pick some songs. They played four songs, and quite well. Then she said no more and it was time to pay up. She asked how much, the leader replied 400 pesos. WTF? I had to have him repeat it. Cripes. Even good mariachis get something like 50 pesos per song, but these guys wanted 100. Lesson learned. Ask up front. Dayum.

Next came an after dinner stroll where we stopped into Sinatra's for a cocktail. The drinks here are good. If you like mojitos the bartender makes a pretty decent one. Service is good, the music is decent and it's a good place to chill.

So, if you're looking for a slightly more upscale night out, you can do worse than these places.

After a couple of great tacos, as usually, I stopped in the customer service counter at HK. I was waiting to chat the customer service cutie (CS cutie) , but there was a,"She stole my wallet" situation going on. It involved an older monger, like about my age or older, a new girl, Edgar, and the CS cutie was doing the translating. He said while he was walking in the club, he felt someone taking his wallet from his back pocket. When he turned around, he saw some girl making a beeline to the women's bathroom. That is the girl he decided took the wallet.

Well, HK searched the chica and the bathroom and came up with zilch! Edgar asked the monger if he saw the chica take the wallet, but he didn't, thus, no case against the chica, whether she did the deed or not. I could tell the dude was really frustrated and concerned. He looked at me and asked for my help. The first thing I wanted to say was,"Why in the Sam Hill are you carrying a wallet, especially in your back pocket?" But I didn't because it would only rub salt in this deep wound.

I asked him how I could help. He asked me where I lived, and he lived somewhat near me. He said that he needed to borrow ten dollars for transportation so he could return home. He promised to contact me the next day and pay back the money. I gave him 10 bucks, gave him my phone number, and wished him luck crossing the border without an I'd. To give him full credit, he called me the next day and wanted to meet and pay me back, or take me to lunch; I appreciated the call and offer. I told him no worries and be more cautious next time. Maybe he can buy me a screwdriver or two the next time I see him in La Coahuila.

After getting my fill of eye candy, it was off to Tropical. The mesero I really like, number 5, met me at the door and threw one of the lazy ass chicas off the barstool I wanted. I was there during the chica dancing nude / mostly nude timeframe. Granted, these are not HK or AB body types, but the girls really put forth a great effort in dancing, whether they are chunky or not; I admire that. Then they parade around with the announcer for tips. That announcer knows me and finds me every time. Hell, I'm a sucker for naked girls walking around asking for a lousy buck. After the dancing stopped, BT started playing rap music, WTF? One thing I don't like about BT is every time I find a new girl that I like, she is not there the following week / s. Where in the hell do they go?

I was getting hungry, so I headed to Nikki's. There were some hottie meseras, but I was only interested in getting a sandwich. I ordered the Nikki's sandwich, which had several meats on homemade bread. Too much bread, so I transferred my meats and other goodies to one set of buns. It was good!

After a good sandwich, it was SG time! One of my favorites finally returned after a nice long break. She is not for everyone, her ass is huge! She went to book the room for 20 minutes and I said fuck that. Hell, it takes me 5 minutes to get undressed and even more time to get dressed; we booked for 40 minutes. Once in the room, I realized I failed to have a face / ass picture in recent time. While pondering my next move, I thought that the ass might be too big if she sat on my face; I had a "What the fuck" moment. Once she was on, I found it very hard taking a picture, no less breathing. With a lot of effort, I flipped her big ass over and went for that photo shot instead; breathing was easier as well. I tipped her well.

I planned to get my fat hairy ass out of Tijuana within 8 hours, but I had one more stop to make; Chicago. My favorite was waiting at the door like she was expecting me all along. We grab our favorite bar spot, got our drinks, and then kissed and played like kids on a school bus. One of the girls I took to my hotel a while ago, came by and was asking me for a drink. I explained that I was busy and maybe another time would be more appropriate to approach me. Last week she was a blonde with braids and now, a redhead? Pretty face, but a serious train wreck of a body. I sent her packing and we continued on with our school bus activities.

As the taxi was taking me to the border, there was DUI check-points set up in three different places. I actually made it in and out of Tijuana in seven hours; my timing is getting better.

So is there still a long wait time between Tijuana and San Ysidro border into US by pedestrian? The lines have loosened up a bit. It depends the time and day you go. I cross at around 10 pm Sunday. 15 min max. BUT on Presidents Day Monday I went back at 8pm. The line did not seem to long about 30 ft from the ped bridge. The CBP agents were putting on a "slowdown". Must of been milking the holiday OT. Pressing for DT and 1/2. Squirrely motherfuckers took 3 hours! The "ready" lane and sentry lane has cut down the lines. But I know by the agents questions if they are pushing people through or being pricks. It is totally up to those assholes! (I am not a fan!)

I ran across this today, while surfing around the 'net. This has absolutely nothing to do with Tijuana, but it is interesting. Also surprising, considering how conservative Mexican society is.

I headed to the zona last weekend right around noon for an hour of fun. I usually always walk to and from the border, using the ped bridge over the river and then straight under the arch to Calle Articulo 123 to Constitucion. Although I'm alone, I have never had a problem feeling unsafe since its broad daylight, always people around, and I've made the walk enough times. I walk confidently and wouldn't think I look like a lost tourist or first-timer 'Easy prey'. I don't dress flashy or even wear a watch.

As I left the Zona around 1pm, I stopped for traffic on 123 & Revolucion right under the Arch. I guy about mid-30's came up and asked me for some money. I politely said, 'No, lo siento' and continued walking across Revo into the pedestrian shop area. He followed me within arm's length, then started to ask if he could guess my name, 'Is your name Mark? You look like a Mark. Is it Bob? ' I continued to ignore him and not answer, figuring he would give up and leave. 'How about I guess your sign. Are you a Leo? Were you born in March? How about April. I bet its April, right? ' I continued walking, and refused to look at him or answer, thinking it would only keep him there longer. Right where 123 splits into a Y, I saw a street cop coming towards us alone. I thought about asking the cop to help get the guy off my back, but only figured that the guy might get mad and then wait for me ahead and do something to retaliate.

He followed me all the way to the next street (Madero?) and into the next block of shops, where a little girl about 5 years old came up to us and asked him, yes him, if he wanted to buy some Chiclets gum. He tells me, 'You want to see something, let me show you. Watch me. ' And he reached into his pants and pulls out money to buy some gum, but accidentally drops his money on the ground. As he fumbles around to pick it up, I walk a little faster ahead, but he runs back and closes the gap between us. His voice changes to a mean tone, 'See that? I have compassion. You don't have that. You are mean, and God will show you. You still won't help me? You think you're special? ' and so on and so on, non-stop talking the whole way to and across the next street Negrete, and into the little outdoor plaza towards the bridge.

Now I started wondering if he was going to try something physical with me on the stairs or on the bridge, or if he had some buddies on the bridge waiting. I can fight pretty good, but I started thinking about Mexican jail if I really kicked someone's ass and how crooked the cops are anyway. As I started the steps up the bridge, he finally called me an asshole and turned away. I kept looking over my shoulder while on the bridge, but luckily nothing happened. It was a really uneasy feeling.

This guy looked half white / half Mexican, with straight collar length hair, about 6'2, thin with a dirty black jacket and black pants. Although he had an accent, he spoke English pretty well.

Once I was walking around the block of HK and AD etc, a shoe polishing guy, speaking excellent English bugged me all the way from LC around the block to PB club. By that time, he was so pissed that I still refused to let him Polish my shoes, he started cursing."Hey you have the money to pay for pussies and you wouldn't even spare a dollar to help me feed my family" and so on. Hey guys what's the deal with the passport card. At Otay Mesa I heard the wait time on a Sat afternoon was like 5 min if you had the card. Is the wait similarly short at San Ysidro? Is this correct that I have to send off my current passport in the mail and they will return it with the card?

Thanks to the poster with the review of Cien Anos. I've been curious about that place but I can't seem to get away from Villa Saverios, its my absolute fav.

You can send your birth certificate along with the application. After everything is done they will mail it back to you.

Oh well, these are all lessons I learn so next time I'll be a lot more cautious and smarter in my future trips.I plan to go back to Tijuana at the end of March if any chill monger friends want to hang out let me know. 1st rounds on me. (PM me) , but to add to my not so pleasent experience. Watch out with the Taxi drivers, I've been so used to just paying $5 for the taxi rides to get anywhere. I don't always tell the "$5 esta bien" so there was one instance where the taxi driver took me to my hotel and then he said he would wait for me to check in and take me to Adelitas so not thinking much about it I said ok. I checked in then took my bag to my room and went downstairs probably about 15-20min went by. Then he took me to Adelitas, once there I was thinking I'll give this guy $10 since it was 2 places he took me to (the hotel and the club) as I was giving him $10 he said no its $50. I said "what" its always been $5. And he gave me some crap about waiting for me etc. So after a little back and forth I gave him the $50, I wasn't sure what I could've done in that case. I didn't want to get into a fight over this and have the police called. And another time going from the hotel to Hong Kong the driver charged me $7, while pointing to a chart he had attached to his dash showing $7. So dammit, next time I'm down there I will make sure I ask them everytime to confirm, and if they ever wait for me. If they want to wait for me I'll let them know I'm not paying extra.

For a guy who's been there 8 times already, you're making some seriously newbie mistakes. So, as Principal Strickland said,"Here's a nickel's worth of free advice."

First, there are about 50, 000, 000 taxis in greater Tijuana. You certainly don't need to have one wait for you. If you truly do, you discuss how many stops you're going to make, your intended destination, and then come to a price. Otherwise, just let him go and get another when you're ready.

Now as far as the $7 goes, where was your hotel? IIRC, you were staying at Camino Real? Was this a Yellow (or Economico) taxi, or a Taxi Libre? A $7 fare, from just past Plaza Rio (the location of Camino Real) to the Zona Norte, is about what an Economico will charge, as their fares are based on zones. You can't get "anywhere" in Tijuana for $5. It doesn't work that way, and prices vary depending on which taxis you're using and the distance involved.

I was in Tijuana during the New year holidays, hanging out in the bars and the alley.

There were about half a dozen beggars, including an old woman in a wheel chair, who would follow me around, begging noisily and were very annoying. Around the tacos stalls, there were different guys who would beg for money or tacos. I could not eat in peace. I just ignored them like other Mexicans.

1 hairy, scrawny, filthy, old guy was following me all around the block, speaking fairly good English, giving me all kinds of shit about how I was too cheap to give him change. I just hate these stupid lazy begging assholes.

He was so invasive and annoying, he really pissed me off. So I turned around and told him loudly " FUCK OFF! POLICIAS!" He immediately shut up and walked away. The next night he found me wandering in the alley but just looked at me with fear without even approaching.

So calling policias to stop harassing beggars should work. I used it on other beggars and they left me alone. If you even give them a dime, next time they will remember you and target you again.

My local friends told me the people who parade children around the tacos stands begging for food or money have been arrested. So you no longer see them begging there.

Put the policias to work for you so they have less time and energy harassing and stealing from gringos and putas.

No disrespect but he saw a sucker and took advantage of it. In Tijuana always talk price before anything happens. Talk to these guys with confidence and don't be afraid to say no and be firm with them. This includes the chicas when negotiating. Walk and talk like you've been there before.

My opinions of similar situations evolved over time

First off, I am definitely not a local, and I speak horrible spanish, but it makes the girls (and sometimes guys) laugh so what the fuck, I don't care, I have also being pulled over by cops a few times driving down there and was able to maintain a reasonably courteous conversation and not have them rob me or give me shit.

Introduction complete.

For taxis and meseros, they are always trying to push your limits, obviously, $50 is a very high price, you may or may not have tried to reason with him but it is water under the bridge, point is, did you ask him politely (and perhaps sarcastically) if he was really serious? When someone gives me shit like that, I ask him, do I look like a tourist? You don't think I know how much this should cost? Most of the time this shuts them up completely and they will offer me something reasonable or ask me what I would like to pay.

Or did you just fork over the money like he asked? In that case, hopefully this is a lesson well learnt.

I used to be naive (still am, in some cases) and just chose the path of least resistance, being there for a while has certainly toughened me up a little, and I don't put up with as much shit as I used to.

Nothing that I have said is intended to make you feel like shit (sorry, forgot who the original poster is while writing this) , but the lesson learnt, and I shall quote from a movie I like very much, boiler room, in which ben affleck's character says "behave as if"

Happy mongering.

Hi all,

There is a treasure trove of travel tips in here in General Reports, so I've been reading the fine forum in order to not be a stoopid Americano tourista.

I'm planning a visit for a couple days in April and would like to know if the quality & quantity of working girls decrease during the days leading up to Easter Sunday? I am aware that many Mexicans are Catholic and was wondering if they might go home & visit family, and choose not to work in observance of Good Friday through Easter Sunday.

Should I visit before just before Easter or immediately following Easter? If I do make it to Tijuana then I will certainly be posting reports here on ISG.

Thanks in advance,

BR

BRBR,

Good question. Certain days in that timeframe can have an effect on chicas working, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter.

You are correct in assuming that many chicas are Catholic and may observe those days, but not to the effect that it shuts down business. There's always chicas making money, even during holidays.

Visiting before or after a holiday is just about the same, because if a chica intends to skip work, she'll want to make money before, and then upon return want to get back in the grove making money.

You should be fine.

Cheers,

Keg

I was just made aware that I can't get PM's unless I'm a senor member or I pay for the membership, so I will be paying for a subscription later today, I intend to increase my Tijuana visits and would like to get to know some cool people to hang with while down there.

-I did question the taxi driver why he was charging me that much when it should only be $5 per location. And he was giving me a hard time explaining why. He seemed cool up to that point. And I didn't really want him to wait for me, but he offered and I didn't expect to be that long.

Like I said this is a cautionary tale, when you go so often to Tijuana you may forget about some of the rules because nothing ever happens to you, and you become complacent. But you can't let down your guard because thats when someone is just waiting to take advantage of you.

I will say that last time I was in Tijuana I got the best shoe shine of my life on the sidewalk outside HK. The guy really did a great job.I would let one Polish my shoes when I need one. In fact, I even tip them a dollar or two on top of the asking price if they did a good job. However this particular English speaking guy seemed to be a newly deportee trying to make a few quick bucks. He did not have a fixed spot. He was just following people around and did not even have the professional equipment with him. He was holding a box of shoe Polish and a towel and talked shit if people did not let him do it.

As far as the beggars are concerned, many of them are professionals. They actually rent children to beg for them, or to make people sympathetic so they would give them money. I also heard that there are "gangs" controlling and feuding over "begging territories". Some of the beggars are hired and controlled by some "begging mafias".

I'm wondering how things have changed in Tijuana since I made my last visit to the gentleman's clubs about ten years ago. From reading the posts it seems prices (for chicas) have gotten cheaper and the supply more plentiful and better quality now. I remember going into a club, paying $100 for the chica and then going upstairs to a dumpy room and paying an extra amt for the room. The chicas weren't all that impressive. I usually go to Argentina for some sexual R & R. I realize that Buenos Aires probably doesn't compare to Tijuana, but I'm just down the road from Tijuana, so to speak, and am planning a weekend trip to Tijuana and Ensenada in March. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you.Hmm. Callejon Coahuila is now paved. HK has been significantly expanded and will be unrecognizable. Rio Rosa is gone. Botanas is gone, taken up by the HK expansion. Miami is no more, again taken up by HK. Chicago Club is now one of the deadest venues in the Zona. Several places have changed their names. Adelita expanded, as did Bar Tropical.

I don't recall any girls commanding $100 back then. The dumpy rooms have been remodeled in many cases and are even more overpriced than before.

Lots more going on in Tijuana than Ensenada.

Planning to make my visit to Tijuana in a few weeks. But I absolutely need to be able to use my cell phone while there, and it is 100% imperative that my cell bill doesn't say anything about international minutes. I have verizon and in order for me to use it in Tijuana I have to open up a int calling plan. I choose a pay as you go global plan. There are several to chose from. Once you chose a plan it will send me a text message once activated. So this is not really the way to go if you are trying to hide it because it will come up on your phone bill. Best thing to do is to call verizon and ask. I can not use my iphone in Tijuana without this feature.

Depending on how long you will be there you can simply do a pre emptive strike and say to your wife that you are having trouble with your phone before entering Tijuana and once in Tijuana just turn it off or don't answer it. That's what I did the first couple of times I went to Tijuana.

Thanks guys. You're SOL with Verizon. Actually, you're screwed with most carriers. You *might* get a signal on the upper floors of some of the zona hotels and be able to use the USA Verizon signal, but it's very iffy.

You could get a Mexican cell phone, but I suspect that would defeat the purpose of being able to use your cell phone, your number, etc.

That's what I was afraid of. How is the wi-fi in Cascadas Hotel? I need to be able to make a phone call not only because of my wife, but because I'm trying to go for my birthday and I'm sure a lot of friends / family will be calling. I also need to make a business phone call but that could be done anywhere. Would be weird if I didn't answer or return any birthday phone calls for 3/4 days to family / parents / friends / wife / etc. (she thinks I'm going to SD to visit a college friend getting married).

But if there is really good wi-fi I could always receive calls over that. I'm sure it's just in the hotel, but at least I'd be able to get text messages while around the zona.

Thanks guys. You are going to have to get creative. And be ok with lying. Tell your wife you lost your phone. Tell her you are going to go buy a burner phone to use until you can get home and buy a permanent replacement. Call her from the burner.

Does she know you are going to be in San Diego? If so, you could tell her you went to dinner or something in San Diego, it was close to the border and Verizon must have made a mistake yada yada yada.

Whenever I stay on the top floor of either Hotel Ticuan or Cascadas my Tmobile phone changes location to Baja California. Baja California is Mexico.

Sometimes I even get ATT from Ticuan. On the other hand, a buddy of mine reported that he got Telcel from a cruise ship just a short distance west of Point Loma.

When I'm in Tijuana, I just don't make calls unless I get the ATT signal. I get ATT often enough so it really isn't a problem. When I'm not making a call, I keep my phone turned off.

Hey all,

Planning to make my visit to Tijuana in a few weeks. But I absolutely need to be able to use my cell phone while there, and it is 100% imperative that my cell bill doesn't say anything about international minutes. Can anyone share a little info on cell phone use in Tijuana? I have Verizon if that matters between the carriers.

Thanks guys.I have verizon. This is how I make a phone call or texting in tijuana. Firstable adjust your phone. Go to setting&tools. Go to phone settings. Then go to system select. Then select Home only option. Now you can get a signal from san yisidro tower only, but not from mexico provider. You get the signal from 2 to 6th floor at hotel cascada north side, not inside hotel room. Or adelita hotel north side. Also hotel hacienda de santiago (perfect signal so far). So when you are at the bar, you are not going to get any signal, but when you come back to any hotel north side you get signal. If you wait 30 second, you get the all the text messages and voice messages which didn't go through before. But not the missed call. If you have more question, pm me.

I will be making my first trip to Tijuana. Will be down there from 3-15 to the 18th. I've traveled quite a bit and read all of the forums on here. My questionis what to wear down there? Obviously no jewelry, watches etc. But actual clothes. I'm staying in San Ysidro and will be going back and forth. I know it's a noob move to do that but I have some things in SD to do also. Thanks for any input.

That place is awesome, you'll become addicted. There's no particular clothing preferences except maybe hold off on dressing like a gangster or chollo but you'll see people dressing in all types of clothing. Also make sure to keep close tabs on your money, when you buy anything let the waiter know what your giving them. Also in taking taxis make sure before they take you anywhere it's understood they are charging you $5, which is the normal charge for any one location. Have fun in Tijuana, it's a grown mans playground.

Staying in San Ysidro is not a noob move, it's convenient for your needs. I think the uncertainty of border crossing wait times makes it a smart decision if you have things to do in SD.

You can dress causally for the zona, check the weather channel before your trip, a light windbreaker may be necessary, but it's warm inside the clubs so you may be uncomfortable wearing a sweater or long sleeve shirt. You can always wrap the wind breaker around your waist when you're inside the club. You can also wear a watch so don't worry about that. There's a lot of good info on the board, so if you have been reading the reports you're going to have a good time.

If you do have some time during the day, you can walk Revolucion, and a subsequent trip you can feel better about exploring other parts of town. Do you speak any Spanish?

Since you'll have all your things at a hotel in SY, I would also suggest that you also get a hotel room in the zona. If you're on a budget, a room at Hotel Coahuila is inexpensive, about $35 for the night. That is the hotel associated with Adelita Bar. You will have a place to chill throughout the afternoon / night, and can take as many chicas from AB as you like If you don't have a budget limitation, then Hotel Cascadas is a nicer place, it's associated with Hong Kong. Costs

More for a room there. On your first night in the zona, you can go to the front desk of each of those hotels and ask if you can see a room first because you're

Considering a room for the night. You always decide later if you want to do that, but at least it's another option.

Cheers,

Keg

Keep it simple and not flashy. In all honesty modesty will take you so far in Tijuana. Mexicans are nice people who work hard and honestly just want to make you the tourist happy. Whenever I go I respect the fact that I am no longer in Southern California and wear my oldest shoes, plain jeans, and a basic t-shirt or worn polo shirt. I always think that a mugger / crooked cop is not going to bother with a guy wearing old funky ass shoes. I have been looked up and down walking through the staircases by the bridge that takes you to the arch by cops before and by some thugs walking around, nothing ever happened. I just keep walking and acknowledge that I know my surroundings and see you too. The whole cops thing is something I hope I never encounter and thus far have never seen anything go down. Tijuana like any urban city has problems but like any urban city you the visitor must be smart. I am not going to lie, there is something extremely liberating about walking from the Zona to the border, passing the arch, stopping on the bridge to see the Tijuana skyline (sort of) , and to see the big bad wolf in the flesh. As if the border area is where all the problems are. It's not. Just be smart and respectful. Have fun.

Just a side note. You will see a lot of people dressed better than you especially on a thurs-sat night as that is a big "go clubbing" night and some dudes are dressed up as nice as fancy as the girls.

But the escort website mexico lindo bar dot com is having a fiesta on Saturday 03/15/14 at 7:30pm at the El Torito Pub, he says he'll probably have like 30 escorts there. I'll probably stop by for a bit around 8pm. Too bad I can't PM you so I can give you my number so we can meet up at Hong Kong or something. I have a iphone 5. Don't think it'll work me.You can turn off the following setting under "Settings- Cellular- Roaming" on the Verizon iPhone: "Voice Roaming" and "International CDMA". After you make those changes, your phone will work only in areas where it can catch the Verizon (USA) signal.

I had a Verizon iPhone 5 during my first visit to Tijuana in August last year. I switched to T-Mobile recently and my iPhone 5 was able to catch the T-Mobile signal in a few specific spots (like outside the HK club's front entrance and across the street between Mermaids and Tropical) on my most recent trip to TJ.

Cascada DOES NOT take credit cards. CASH ONLY. Make sure you budget for this. Make sure you reserve on line for the "Internet rate" ($5 off) If you want Quiet (6 floor) Believe it or not TV channels vary by the room! I don't understand why?

Book it online. When you get there go buy your VIP card ASAP. Once you have the VIP card go upstairs to check into your room and show them the VIP card and tell them that you reserved it online.

Hello hobbyists,

My name is Sampson, but I think I was registered here some 10 years ago, but here I am again.

I probably have met many of you as I have spent my last 15 years in Tijuana, but wanted to share some information about my favorite place in our beloved Zona Norte.

Nikki's bar is on Articulo 123 between Constitucion and Ninos Heroes. It is in the middle of the block and on the North side of the street.

Nikki's closes at 3am nightly and I believe opens at 8 or 9am. They have a great breakfast available at reasonable prices. I normally get their Grand Slam, which is Two Eggs how you want them, two sausage links and two slices of bacon with 2 pancakes and an OJ. The menu has lots of offerings, both American food and Mexican food and BBQ as well.

Upstairs is the nicest bar in the Zona and when you are there, you would never believe you are in the Zona. Now they have a hotel below and rent rooms by the hour, and longer. I think you can get a room for 30 minutes as well. Most of the chicas in the bar will go to the room and you have to negotiate the price with your chica. They offer ficha drinks, but check before you order as some are expensive. I think the least expensive is 50 pesos and many are 105 pesos.

During football season a group of about 15 met every Sunday to watch games and talk football. We all have grown a great affection for the place and the staff. The place opened I believe in September of 2012 and is building steam and I am quite happy to know most of the staff and the owner who is a monger as well and it has become our "Cheers" as it has a special feeling that you don't find in other bars.

I was there tonight and there was basketball on the TV's and maybe about 20 guests. They have several laptops available for their clients both in the restaurant and the bar. The bathrooms are nice and clean as is the entire place.

They normally run promos on US Holidays. I had turkey on Thanksgiving, and I cannot remember what on Christmas, and they even had a special Valentine's Day menu. I remember it was pork chops on Valentine's Day and as best I know they still serve them even though I have not seen them on the menu. Now I cannot really speak for the entire menu as I am a simple guy, but they offer chilli dogs, corn dogs, hamburgers and many pasta dishes. Most beers are 15 pesos but the bucket of 10 is 200 pesos, so a lot of guys order 8 beer buckets for 120. I believe the buckets are more expensive as they prefer to sell individual beers and give the staff an opportunity to earn tips.

I know that I will be spending Thursday and Friday days in their the 20th and 21rst as I love the NCAA tournament and will most likely eat 3 meals a day there.

Now with me coming on here and making my first post about the place you may think I have a financial interest in their business, but I do not. I do want to see the place grow and succeed. I appreciate that most do not want to be called by their handles in the Zona but if you want to ask for me my name is Dennis and I answer to Sampson as well. I'm really there more than anyone should spend in one place, but if you come in and ask for me, I will show you around and introduce you to folks if you like.

Happy mongering to you all.

I know that many "undocumented immigrants" all have "green cards" or "driver's licenses" for $5. 00 to $10. 00 each from some places that are specialized in making fake IDs. These "immigrants" actually use these fake IDs to get employment in the US, which I personally handled years ago. The IDs looked a little flimsy, but hey, as President GWB said: "Employers are not law enforcement officers and are not trained and therefore not responsible to tell if the IDs are fake or not." All the illegal workers have "green cards","social security cards" and sometimes "driver's licenses" to be checked upon when getting employed in the US. Even their SSNs are fake, Uncle Sam still gladly accepts their taxes and looks the other way simply because they are cheap labors for the economy and Uncle Sam never has to pay them social security benefit since their SSNs are non-existent in the first place. This huge amount of tax from the illegal immigrants is free money for Uncle Sam. Great deal, isn't it?

Anyway, is it a problem if a Mexican police caught you using a fake I'd or the so called "novelty I'd"? Any ideas? Thanks.

However, I'm not sure that information is all that valuable. Your PP card number isn't the same as your regular PP number. The card is only good for travel between the US and Canada / Mexico. So, it's going to be worthless for most uses. Since the motel isn't going to steal your card they'll need a fairly sophisticated setup to duplicate it. I suspect any identity thief will have a hard time stealing an identity with just a name and passport card number. I think it's less risky to give them a PP card than to carry around a fake ID.

Having said that, there is one of these no-tels that don't ask for ID, at least the last time I used it. I've not used it for a couple of years and the name escapes me. It's on Primera, I think a block or two west of Ninos Heroes, on the south side. You can't miss it as there are always a couple of ferocious-looking trannies hanging around the front. You can drive up or walk up and they only ask for the money. It's clean but not nearly as nice as Premier or Mansion, but perhaps a good alternative in this case.

The rooms look to be about the nicest you will find in the area of Zona Norte, and the price is reasonable. I have been meaning to try it out. But the thought of making the walk to and from the Hotel late at night in a not so good area has kept me away. However what I have been hearing about the choke out robberies they seem to occur in the morning hours rather than late at night.

Is it acceptable to walk past everyone in line on the right side of the rope to get to the ready lanes?Yes sir. That is the way it is designed and supposed to be used.

Is it acceptable to walk past everyone in line on the right side of the rope to get to the ready lanes?Yes sir, I just passed yesterday Sunday 03/16 at around 4pm and the line was super long but luckily I have a passcard so I went right through, what couldve taken about an hour waiting I was through within about 10min. Thank goodness because I spent a little longer then I should have at Hong Kong.

It is in the middle of the block and on the North side of the street.Hey Sampson! I remember your posts from wayyyyyy back. I mean way back when Brockton O'Toole actually posted here. Or was that another forum? Anyhow. Weren't you affiliated with MLB? No- Not Major League Baseball, the other one. Anyhow, Long time no hear from. Glad you are still alive and kicking. I used to use a different handle back then too. I don't remember which one though. Middle age, hahaha.

I headed down to Tijuana Saturday afternoon. Sorry I can't report on sexo in Zona Norte, but just a little bit of this and that on my recent trip. I arrived a little bit after 3 pm and parked a few blocks from the San Yisidro point of entry. As I'm walking towards the turnstyles about 20 ft away are about 10 CBP officers 8 of them are just kind of leaning on the fence and 2 of them are jacking up a couple of eldery black ladies. As I pass by I hear the officers say "Before we conduct a search I need to know if you are carrying any guns or ammunition. What the F? Upon entering MX I see the line leaving is extremely long and there didn't appear to be a seprate line for Sentry. I guess those agents should have been manning some booths to help move the line along, but thats our Govt. I did start up a conversation with a guy next to me about the CBP. Not sure if he was a fellow monger, but he stated he comes to Tijuana frequently and in the past he would always face extensive questioning when crossing. He said he started wearing one of those medical masks and now they barely want to stop and talk to him and he gets waved through pretty quick (interesting).

Now came the hard part trying to negotiate a taxi fare to my MBGF's casa. Without an address and just trying to describe roughly where it is I got quoted a reasonable fare. The problem is once you are half way there the cabbie starts wanting to change the price, acting like he didn't realize it was that far. Thats when I have to tell him he is crazy and I come here all the time and it never costs that much and then he just shuts up. I prefer to take the bus since it takes me right to her door for about 75 cents. But I was running late and the bus takes way to long.

I always have a good nights sleep when I stay at her casa. For some reason as soon as I hit the bed I'm asleep in 5 minutes unlike my bed where it takes a while to fall asleep. So I fall asleep around 11 about 2 in the morning she wakes me saying something about LOOK its Las Pulgas in my front yard. I go and look out the front window and the courtyard is filled with people drinking and dancing. There are disco lights bouncing off the windows and the music is so loud the apartment is shaking. Not sure how I slept through it, when I went to sleep there wasn't a sole around and all of a sudden there is a raging party. After watching the party for a bit we started hearing all kinds of sirens coming from the rear window. There were numerous police fire and ambulances. We couldn't see the what happened exactly but it appeared to be a bad accident there were people all getting out of there cars on the overpass and taking pictures. And the whole highway was shut down for hours. So who needs tv? To switch channels we would go from the front window to the rear window. Needless to say I never could fall back asleep the party didn't end until almost 5 in the morning.

The next day we decided to check into the Ticuan for some peace and quiet. I used to be a regular at the Ticuan but have not been there in a while. In the past I have always been given a room on the 5th or 6th floor. I always assumed they would segragate the hospital patients from the mongers. I assumed the patients must be on the 7th floor. So when I was given a 7 th floor room. My first thought was to be on the lookout for dripping fluids. Does anyone know if a certain area is set aside for the hospital people? The only major change I noticed in the hotel was now the TV's have a ton more channels than before. I did spend a lot of time going through the channels trying to substansiate the rumor of porno on the Ticuan TV's, but found none.

We went for an early dinner at Vittorio's at the corner of 9th and Rev. Who would have thought you could get a nice Italian dinner in the heart of Tijuana. After dinner, with some time to kill before meeting some friends at Las Pulgas, I was able to talk her into hitting some Zona Norte bars. There was a problem getting into LC, since she didn't bring her I'd. Apperantly they have been having some problems with the police making a lot of bar checks. And they said if the police find a girl inside the bar without an I'd they get fined it didn't matter if she was just a customer. We did hit a few other bars without any problem. I did find it interesting when we went to the bar where she previously worked there was not a single girl she new from the 2 years she has been gone. However almost every Mesero remembered her and came over and gave her a big hug. I guess that just shows the turnover ratio for the girls is way more than the meseros.

We ended up at Las Pulgas from about 9 to 11:30 and burned out early probably due to a lack of sleep. And made that nice short walk back to the room. The next morning had a nice breakfast at the Ticuan. The food is still pretty good. And then I was off to La Linea. Around 11 a. M. The general line was a mile long looked like at least 1or2 hour wait. This time the passport card really came in handy. Absoulutely no wait in the ready lane, I walked all the way to the front.

I'm getting better at getting in and out of Tijuana within eight hours. After I settled in at HK, I was joined by one of my favorite girls and that is when I noticed there was something different about HK; none of the meseros tried to take our picture while we were enjoying our tasty adult beverages. I jumped up and went to the service desk and it was confirmed; no more meseros with cameras was the new policy. Well, that's one less annoying thing at least. And I haven't seen a cheese plate for over a month; maybe that will go away as well.

Shortly thereafter, I was surprised when I saw Daigo and PerroZ arrive and Maricóand rearranged the booths so we could enjoy more chicas than we could handle. We stayed long enough to see what the next shift would produce; nothing stunning enough to keep us there; we moved on to Tropical. The mesero brought over two brand spanking new girls; they sat on our laps. But they were way too timid for Daigo and I; so we launched them when they finished their drinks. Saw Asshole sitting in a crowd and we invited him over to LC.

In LC, we got a large double booth and settled in and started looking for not real big chicas; not an easy task in LC. Daigo and PerroZ both scored a couple of hot chicas. Then for whatever reason, Daigo calls over Humpy Dumpy (HD) to meet me. She slides in the booth, with some help from lubrication, and seems to be very thirsty; OK, I'll buy one. She whispers all the fun things that she wants to do to me in the room, and I said,"Hey HD, don't get too ahead of yourself here." Meanwhile, Asshole arrives and gives me the,"What in the fuck are you sitting next to?" look; I only had the look of shame in return.

Shorty thereafter, a stunner walked by, smiled, and sat in the booth behind Asshole. I had my hands tied up with HD, but Asshole jumps up and grabs the hottie; fucking Asshole! She sits across from me and I wanted to ask her,"Are you lost and just stumble in LC by chance?" Finally HD squeezed her way out of the booth and then there was another girl that kept walking by and smiling. I called her over, started chatting, and then she spoke English; strike one. Then she took out her phone; strike two. Then she drank her drink too fast; strike 3 be%ch, you are out!

Fuck! Everyone else had a great girl and I was sitting in the booth licking my wounds. Maybe Asshole would free up his hottie, fuck no; fucking asshole. I did a walk about and I felt this hand on the Little Sailor and then I realized that it was HD! I had a "Fuck it!" moment and took HD up to the hotel. Hell, no one was looking anyway. In the room, she was a bit less than fun, but still served the Little Sailor's purpose nevertheless. Returned to the booths with much shame; but the guys are a forgiving group. Turns out we were joined by SAM. Asshole was still hogging up the hottie; fucking asshole!

We all rolled into Nikki's, I was hungry and bruised. Afterwards, we headed to CC to listen to the crickets. My favorite has yet to return. I had my big, big ass chica buddy with the great hands give many of us massages.

I decided to head back to SD and there was no one in the Sentri line, but 3 people in the Ready Lane line. I flashed my Sentri card and proceeded to the agent and our conversation went like this:

Agent: Would it have killed you to let the three people on your left go in front of you?

Me: Oh, I'm sorry, are they Sentri card holders?

Agent: No they aren't.

Me: Then I do not feel I should give up my privilege as a Sentri card holder. I paid my fees, why should I let them go ahead of me?

Agent: They paid their fees as well, some paid a lot more than you did.

Me: Did they go through the wonderful interview process, giving up personal documents, and providing fingerprints?

Agent: No.

Me: So be it; have a good night.

In and out within 7. 5 hours!

Have not been down to Tijuana in maybe 6 months, possibly longer but I think its time. My dark passenger has been telling me for the past few months I need to go, so I should be down this Saturday. Is there anything new to note or same o' business as usual?

Thanks

No Sentri . No Mexico Viva Sentri :

Sentri line has unpreditable interview process and behaviour stating with the private security guard who at times demand that one wait and use the general entrance and this has happened on few visits.

Bad mouthing Sentri clients is a typical for these private guards.

CPB staff interviews has been varied for most visit to the standard questions,"Anything to declare.","What are you bringing back?" "Purpose of the trip and duration!"."Are you visting family?","you could lose the Sentri Privilege! And so forth.

Extended encounter like yours regrading the privelage of the Sentri is a rare encounter I would think. I am glad someone took CPB staff to task about the Sentri Privilige.

Is this going to be reflected on your file and have any impact on the renewal process? I hope not.

7. 5 hr with Sentri a real luxury trip to Tijuana (in and out) I would say. I am surprised no mention of Lobster Village.

Thanks for the info.

I made a quick run for the border yesterday. First time in the Jacuzzi room of one of the no-tels near Otay. Nice room. Nothing terribly exciting to report on that score, outside of some pretty decent boinking and a relaxing nap.

But I was turned on to another great place to eat. It's Chewin's World of Fish (yes, the name is in English). It's in a dumpy little center located on Industrial in Otay. Industrial roughly parallels Bellas Artes. The center is approximately straight south of the 7-11 west of the border crossing. So, it's close. It's open-air with the front covered by plastic and canvas hanging covers for when it's chilly. They have cold beer, tequila shots and two jukeboxes that will blare out all the Banda you can stand.

But the point is that they serve great fish. They have an extensive menu of fish tacos (huge!) , various ceviches, pulpo, etc, etc.

The house special is the pescado Chewin. It's priced by portion size. It's a fish, split lenghways and grilled over charcoal. (There's a gang of surgical-masked kids slaving over this giant grill) Then it's put into foil, some somewhat spicy red oily sauce is added, shrimp put onto the top, a bunch of Jack cheese sprinkled all over and then broiled. Yes, I know. Fish and cheese are strictly verboten. But this works. It's served with tortillas, roasted chiles, grilled onions and limes. And the beer is reasonable, too. A 10-bottle cubeta, of "ficha" size bottles, is 90 pesos.

So. 1 KG of fish and 1 cubeta of beer, plus tax and 10% tip came to about 440 MXN.

If you like to cross at Otay and are looking for a decent meal at a decent price this is a good spot. I'm told it's packed on the weekends.

I've been reading some concerns regarding Sentri lately and while crossing back into the USA last Sunday around 9AM when I got inside the building I noticed about 30 people in the SENTRI line. As a SENTRI holder I have never noticed more than two people waiting in line. When I got to the end of the line I told a CBP officer that I was Sentri and was told to go to the front of the line. After placing my card into the reader I asked the CBP officer in the booth why there were non-SENTRI people in the SENTRI lane and was told they were trying to expedite people through as the line were starting to back up on the Mexican side.

Hard to believe but it's been about 6 months since I have been down to Tijuana. Went this

Past Tuesday. Wasn't sure if anything changed since I've been gone. Not much

Has change but there were some changes. I took a girl up from lc and when I

Paid the hotel guy at Cascadas, I gave him a $200. 00mx note and was waiting for

Change. He said no change and that is what it cost to rent a room now.

What didn't change was the policy at hk that you can't bring in a backpack.

I guess my one man protest about this policy isn't working. At least from what

I read recently on the hk thread, other members have been staying away from

There also. I know hk has some of the hottest women but luckily, I was able to

Find some good company in the other clubs.

Also, since P usually writes about restaurants, I went to one I have not

Been to before. It's called La Taberna Espanola. It's located on Aqua caliente

Blvd. Just across the street from the big boy restaurant. It's a Spanish

Restaurant with lots of Tapas choices. The waiter recommended the Paella. The

Paella wasn't the best that I ever had but it was very good. Since I went

Alone, I only had the Jamon Serrano for the tapas, which was very good.

I parked behind the jib where it is now $7. 00usd for 8 hours. Not sure about

Weekend rates. The lot had a lot of empty spaces.

Coming back in the Sentri lane, no one was in line but when I got to the

Front both machines said not functioning. The ready line had a lot of people

There so wasn't sure what to do. Do I cut in or wait till called upon?

Anyways, one of the agents was walking by so I said excuse me but the machines

Aren't working, what do I do. He said give me a minute, I'am opening up the

Lane. About 30 seconds later the machine was on. He just ask where I'am going

To, and let me through. Has this happened to anyone else. If it did what are

You supposed to do? Since the ready line uses the machine also, I would feel

Weird cutting into their line.

The hell with their line; Sentri rules the line. Cut it and be proud of it!What's bothers me is I went thru the interview process which involved lots of personal questions and a review of my tax returns, etc. To obtain Sentri and now it appears as though since so few people have Sentri the CBP is starting to squeeze people into the Sentri line or not have it available. Since the issuance of the Passport Card and the machines that read them, the CBP may be looking at Sentri as a a waste of manpower to manage it. I liked it before they had the Passport Card, s etc. It was great arriving at the border seeing the two hour wait for everyone and going to the front of the line!

A little confused.

So now the pedestrian SENTRI lane is used for people with passport cards? If you have a SENTRI card you bypass these people while holding your card up?

Please Advise.

Also let it be known that I've never been able to use the TSA Pre-Check line with my Global Entry Card. I've been told by airlines that I need to join the miles club or something similar. I have no idea what they were saying. To remedy this situation I now call ahead and ask for wheel chair assistance to take me through security. Part of the reason for getting a SENTRI card is so I wouldn't have to stress my lower back anymore than it is by removing shoes.

Either way I'm getting mine!

Once you get Sentri take your Passport and have the CBP validate your passport as Senri holders are automatically eligible but need to have their Passport validated in the system. After getting this done when you make flight arrangements enter your GOES number and it will identify you in the system for TSA pre-screening. TSA prescreen has nothing to do with frequent flyer miles, etc. The best part of Global Entry is the pre-screening, when I flew back from the DR last month when I arrived in JFK there was a 30 minute wait to get thru security. Nobody in the Pre-screen lane, no shoes to remove, etc. It's the best feature as any time you fly domestic or international from the USA you won't be waiting in long security lines.

Been to Tijuana tons of times but not for about a year & half.

I am now handicapped (need two new knees) and I was thinking I could just walk to the front of the.

Long line entering the U S.

It is very painful to stand for that long of time.

I am going to bring my handicapped placard and hold it in my hand as I walk.

Has anyone done this?

I would think it would be O K?

Thoughts anyone.

Thanks much,

I haven't crossed the line since October, so others probably have a more up-to-date idea of this as things change overnight- but, when you enter the building and you hit the long hall of lines, the far left line is a disabled line. You should be able to go straight up to it. And the line tends to be pretty short. I have never done it, but I see older people use it and those with canes. Sorry- bad knees suck.

DaNuckThere is a lane designated for handicapped. Just walk right to the turnstyle, show your placard to the guard and follow the signs to the handicap lane. You will be ahead of the game with a placard I have seen people just limp or carry a cane without showing any documentation of a handicap. The only drawback is the handicap lane merges with the people coming off the buses. But most of the time it will be clear sailing.

Lorca continues to run the paella special. It is paella for two, salad for two, great bread, and a carafe of sangria for less than 25 dollars. Even less if you pay in pesos. The paella was a mix of fish and meat. It takes at least 30 minutes to prepare the paella. Lorca also has a kids menu and we ordered some chicken nuggets for my friend's daughter. We also ordered the cheese platter with sausage.

I favor the paella over any that I had in the San Diego Spanish restaurants!

I always walk from the border to the Zona. Day or night. I never have problems with the locals and others who walk the 20 minute walk. Yesterday I discovered that they made one of the "towers at the west end of the "river bridge" a muni police substation! NOW I am nervous. Shit a nice walk, and now I have to keep my eye on those "outlaw cops!" Also the plants that they put in on the bridge died! WOW go figure! Nothing says "Welcome to Mexico" than the smell of the Tijuana River! You would NEVER catch me in the Ocean in OB!

You would NEVER catch me in the Ocean in OB!Years ago when those towers were manned that bridge was the only place where I ever had my pockets searched by the gangstas in uniform. They probably stole some money but I will never know for sure. They seemed pretty concerned with the wire covers I had forgot to take out of my pockets. That was quite some time ago back in the days when the Police would wait by the taxi drop off point at la linea, just to steal from the tourists as they made there way out of Mexico. Thanks for the warning GSR.

That was quite some time ago back in the days when the Police would wait by the taxi drop off point at la linea, just to steal from the tourists as they made there way out of Mexico. Thanks for the warning GSR.I used to walk across a lot, back and forth. A couple of months ago, I got stopped by two Mexican cops right on the bridge. First they asked me if I spoke Spanish in Spanish, I said: "Yes a little" in Spanish. Then they asked me why I was going to Tijuana and where and who to meet, etc. I told them that I was going to see a friend who had a business on 1st street. They then asked me to roll up my sleeves to check if I had any needle marks on my arms. Then they let me go.

My suggestion is that if you get stopped, be calm and tell them you speak Spanish, even if just a little bit and even you answer them in English. Then tell them that you are going to see a local friend who has a business or whatever in town. In this way, they would be hesitant to rob you or scam you since they would be afraid of the consequence if you told your local friend about it. Make sure you are friendly but at the same time let them know that you are paying attention to their name badges if they had any on them.

Years ago, two cops took me for a ride in Tijuana for over an hour trying to scare me into getting them $600 dollars while they waited for me at the border. They took a picture of my ID and also threatened me that they would arrest me they next time they saw me if I did not come back with the money. And at the same time offered me "protection" and even police ride to the border if I did come back with the money. However, they were totally against the idea that I called my Tijuana friend to bring them the money.

Recently, I have been taking the 10 peso taxi to Revolution Ave. And then it is just a couple of blocks walk and there are plenty of people around you. It is far short of a walk and a lot safer from the Tijuana cops than walking across the bridge. Just my 10 cents.

I have been toying with this idea for a while. Will it be cost effective and convenient. If yes then where to change the money on US side or after crossing over? Thanks in advance for all your inputs. Looking forward to my next trip.

The ones at Otay have much less competition and are generally slightly about that in Mexico.

Whether or not it's worth the effort depends on what you're doing. The main bars (HK, AB, CC, etc.) all keep a very close eye on the exchange rate and you'll save nothing by using pesos in these establishments. The exception is if the peso takes a quick nose dive and you've visiting Tijuana that day. You might, but usually won't, save money at the hotels.

Where you save money is with the girls or doing things out of the Zona. Generally every place in Tijuana accepts dollars but most give a less than favorable exchange rate. So, you'll save money at many local restaurants, bars, taco stands, etc, etc.

What he can do to save himself aggravation and the risk of getting cheated is to bring lots of change : 5's 1's and 10's.

Go to your bank before you come down.

I always stock up on small bills. You will find it to your benifit to use pesos when dealing with the street girls. They will always start out asking for $20 all you do is counter with 200 pesos and you will immediatly save about $4.

Does bargaining in peso also works with bar girls like Adelita or HK?

Does bargaining in peso also works with bar girls like Adelita or HK?Bar girls seem to be a little bit slicker when negotiating. They are more likely to agree with your counter offer in pesos if it is slow or they are desperate for business. With SG's it seems doing the math is to much of a chore. One time when I was negotiating with a SG she pulled out a calculator. I watched as she pushed some buttons and pretended to know what she was doing, and seconds later she just said ok.

Crazy I know!) And I give her the bill. She will pay me usually in USD. At times she will pay me in Pesos and we haggle out the exchange rate! I think it is funny that most think the girls don't know what the exchange rate is. They know TO THE PESO! There are signs at the cambios all over the zona. Most girls pay rent in USD. They are PUTAS not IDIOTS!

Just to add some advise, take it or leave it: These girls are professional shoppers and fuckers! Especially the street chicas. I stand and talk with a lot of them. All the time there are street vendors (all day and night) pedaling goods. They haggle constantly. As for fucking. Know YOUR stuff because they will fuck you (some not in a good way). They play and try to get the highest amount they think they can get. Clients or goods- its all the same to them. Don't back down and don't get "screwed " pun intended!" Unless that is what you want!
I got thrown off another forum because of MY opinion that these girls are not as stupid as a lot of mongers think and that because they hook they are ALL stupid. My reading of a lot of posts were that most guys are misinformed and I confronted them. I was told I did not play well with others! Boo Hoo. As always this is MY opinion, and I have been around the block a few times!
