Something funny: I usually buy one of my favorites cloths and shoes (Yes she lets me shop for her! Crazy I know!) And I give her the bill. She will pay me usually in USD. At times she will pay me in Pesos and we haggle out the exchange rate! I think it is funny that most think the girls don't know what the exchange rate is. They know TO THE PESO! There are signs at the cambios all over the zona. Most girls pay rent in USD. They are PUTAS not IDIOTS!Yes I hate to genaralize and the girls you deal with on a regular basis seem to be on top of things when it comes to money. However my findings and experience with dealing with SG's has taught me that while they are not idiots, on the
whole they are pretty much uneducated. But it doesn't take them long to learn the art of the upsell.
Back in the old days I would have not bothered negotiating in pesos. But after following the advice of my mentor (the author of Tijuana street girls) my last 2 negotiations went like this.

Me: no thank you es solo blow job.

Me: es ok 100 pesos.

made the trip down this past sunday that turned out pretty well. arrived in tijuana around 4-4:30 headed straight to aztec massage for one hour massage $30. 00. massage was not too bad for tijuana standards.
after massage i headed to the zona, at that time 5:30ish the streets and bars were mostly pretty dead. had a few beers as i bounced back and forth between hong kong, adelitas and las chevals for an hour or two not seeing anything that really caught my attention.
went to walk around the block and as i walked through the gauntlet of food stands i came across the very aggressive skinny chick with a very nice ass. she may have been about 5'4 and early to mid 20's dark hair just past shoulders, braces and spoke english very well. i tried to get a way from her at first but she kept holding on to me and pushing he nice ass in to my boner that i eventually gave in to her.
she seemed to me like she must be on speed or something not that she looked it but she was just too happy and full of energy and talking a lot. got to the room and originally planned on just a quick session but i ended up doing an hour with her for $80. 00.

went to straight to taxi and the line took me about an hour at 9:30. i was back home and in bed by midnight.

What he can do to save himself aggravation and the risk of getting cheated is to bring lots of change : 5's 1's and 10's.
Go to your bank before you come down.The start of my Tijuana adventure ritual is always a stop at my SDCCU for $100 in ones and $200 in fives. They come in a nice envelope, left pocket has the ones and right has the fives. I have learned the value of exact change, half the battle in avoiding getting ripped off is ensuring I'm not handing someone a twenty and watching them try to figure out how to keep all of it.
I do get some unusual looks and comments from the bank,"Are you holding a garage sale?" If they only knew.

Your inputs are much appreciated! My expertise in Tijuana is only limited to the Zona Rio so probably I will stick with Dlls! My Spanish being rudimentary to nothing, I don't do the SGs.
On a separate note I have been meeting this chica from Sonora couple of times at Adelita and we have had some good times together, GFE action. She suggested that next time she wanted to me meet me at some La Mansion Motel outside the zona. She has her own car. Is this a sign of red flag? I am a bit confused. In all my visits so far I have been on the beaten path and never ventured out. Your thoughts and comments are very welcome!

KSI posted seperate reports of both an Adriana and a Carina (Karina?) , with physical descriptions, within the last month in the StreetWalker forum. Sounds like the Adriana that I met. I've never seen her again; She was the best paradita that I've had so far.
The exchange rate at the trolley stop cambios are about the best in the area and are higher than the ones in Mexico. The ones at Otay have much less competition and are generally slightly about that in Mexico.
Whether or not it's worth the effort depends on what you're doing. The main bars (HK, AB, CC, etc.) all keep a very close eye on the exchange rate and you'll save nothing by using pesos in these establishments. The exception is if the peso takes a quick nose dive and you've visiting Tijuana that day. You might, but usually won't, save money at the hotels.
Where you save money is with the girls or doing things out of the Zona. Generally every place in Tijuana accepts dollars but most give a less than favorable exchange rate. So, you'll save money at many local restaurants, bars, taco stands, etc, etc.I can agree with you on some points, but not all. Yes the camibos at the trolley stops seem to always have the best exchange rate, especially that last small store before you hit the trek from hell into Tijuana.
Because I'm there almost every weekend, the only thing I don't use pesos for are the dollar bills that I tip the hotties for a cheap feel in HK. I tried using a ten peso coin, but was never brave enough to try to insert the coin in one of their slots.
Normally, all of the big clubs use the 12 to 1 conversation rate, HK and AB included. In the last few months, I was always able to get at least 12. 60 to 13. 10 at the camibos, and even higher at times at the ATMs in Tijuana. Thus pesos was always the best way to go, at least for me; I always had the edge.
On the other hand, for the occasionally traveler to Tijuana, I would agree that exchanging into pesos would be more trouble than good. And for the poor married dudes, it is a question of what to do with the leftover pesos. It's no wonder why I'm single; fuck those worries!
For me, pesos rule all the way!

Gracias!I don't think you have anything to worry about, La Mansion is a great choice on her part. It is located on Via Rapido in the Zona Rio area. Since you did mention spending time in Zona Rio it is located next to the Holiday Inn if you remember seeing that. So if your in her car and she starts driving you into some seedy area away from zona Rio then you might begin to worry. As far as the hotel it is a Love Motel, if you are there during the week it will cost you about $27 for 4 hours if you can spend the night with her take her to dinner and make sure to roll in after about 8:30 pm and you will be able to stay all night for the same price. Its not the kind of place where you would have to worry about her taking you back to a room where she has some dude inside waiting to jump you. The advantage to having her drive you there is you won't have to leave your I'd at the office they will just write her plate number down.
You will find the rooms to be very nice. Nicer than most rooms that I have stayed at in the USA. The room does have a DVD player so one thing I do is bring along a movie. Just make sure it has sub titles in Espanol so you both can enjoy it. This allows me to enjoy 2 pop afternoons. Sexo watch movie and recharge and sexo before your time is up, use all 4 hours. You also can have food delivered to your room and due to this lazy susan contraption you won't even have to get dressed when your food is delivered. However the food is not that good. Also another thing to be aware of, there are not in & out privileges.

Checked in at Adelitas. The talent was kinda sketchy. May be one of those days. Well had to do someone. Finally made up my mind. Little oldef but great attitude, coupld of beers and a tequila shot. Went arriba. Good action CBJ, cg rcg, doggy and finish in mish. 60 $ well spent back to border by 1. All good.

Looking forward to taking another trip to Tijuana. This time I'd like to fulfill a fantasy of a 3some. Are there any girls that are great for a 3some? I am used to the scare tactics used in San Diego to keep people from going to Tijuana. I have read in another thread that the street crime against gringos is up? I have never experienced any problems in Tijuana and don't want my luck to run out. I am planning on heading down there next Wednesday afternoon around 4:00pm and will be gone well before dark. My plan is to take a cab directly to Adelitas and likely not wander around anywhere this time to be safe. Taxi back to the line. Is it worse than usual and would I expect any problems?

I believe it was in the streetwalker thread it was mentioned that crime was up. Last time I was there, about 9 months ago the people were very gracious and said things like "thank you
Senior gringo for visiting". They were all very nice. I do try to be careful, not be stupid, don't get lost and roam the alleys and am generally out of there before dark.
I hit town Saturday. Rocky the Flying Squirrel and I hit a few places I'd never been, so I thought I'd share.
First, I came without reservations. And learned the hard way that none of the nice short-time hotels will let you rent overnight. At least not until rather late. An exception is Motel Otay, but you have to pay in cash, no credit card. I needed to conserve my cash, so that was out. We wound up at the Villa de Zaragoza, $60 was the walk-in rate. It's OK but certainly not great. But it was quiet and clean.
For those of you who liked the way Las Chavelas used to be, you may like going to La Cueva del Peludo. It's located on Diaz Ordaz, past the dog track. We took a red collectivo from LVZ and it was something like 25 pesos for two. Sweet. But they offer border pickup and have a nice web site. Google it and it'll come right up.
Anyway, they have a long bar where loads of the chicas sit and wait for you to pick them up. A large dance floor where they alternate strip shows with $1-a-dance dancing. Beers are 17 pesos each (equivalent to the zona's 2x1 offers, but you don't have to buy 2). Ficha drinks are 85 pesos, don't know what arribas are, but Rocky speculated they were equivalent to the zona. I suspect they'll be cheaper than the silly $80 being bandied about HK these days.
We got there around 9, IIRC, and the place was jumping. Had to wait quite a while for a table. As far as I could tell, zero gringos (except for one). The girls ranged from young to mature, from more "local" tastes to a couple of knockouts. I think there is something for everybody. It had a much more laid back attitude than the zona bars, no hustle by the meseros and, interestingly, the chicas didn't demand a tip when they sat on your lap and allowed a quick grope. I did anyway, but it certainly didn't appear to be mandatory. Except for the heavy smoke, it was an interesting place to hang.
Next we took the collectivo back and went to La Malquerida, a place she likes to hang out with her friends. Half a cubeta later and it was time to move on.
She really wanted to hit El Premier. OK. It's near the SW corner of Coahuila and Revolucion, near La Tropa (which looks like they've done a remodel). Anyway, it's a gay bar and they wanted a 100p cover for men and 30p for women. Grrr.
It has a rather long, skinny stage in the middle of the place and it's populated by some seriously studly male dancers. Several of the guys looked like they stepped out of some magazine. They did nothing for me, but Rocky was thrilled. We ordered a half a cubeta, I broke a $10 bill and handed her the singles. Then we started waving the dancers down to give her lap dances. I will say that the girls get a helluva lot more action in their $1 lap dances than we guys get from tipping the HK chicas $1. Dayum. There were a few ladies in there, enjoying the scenery, a few fag hags and loads of guys. I entertained myself by watching the two guys across from us kiss. The couple next to us (guy and girl) kept buying lap dances for the guy. Interesting bunch. Not a place I'd hang out, but Rocky really enjoyed it.

There are clubs located further Northeast in an area bounded by the Otay Crossing, Blvd 2000 and Macro Plaza. They make for interesting bar-hopping excursions, but are distributed over a wide area. If you're not driving, taxi is really the only way to visit them, especially late at night. (Most of these clubs don't start the action until after 10:00 PM.) My favorite of these is La Botana, located in Plaza Tigre.

Just look for the 5 Y 10 sign in the front window of the red cab and thats the one that will get you there.
We were in the area of La Cueva on Saturday and I was looking for a bar to watch the Final Four. Checked with the guy at the door to see if basketball was on tv, he confirmed Si basketball no problem. So we parked the car $4. 50 up front to park in there lot. We were greeted by a masero upon entry and told him we wanted to watch the basketball games, by now I noticed every tv had soccer on. He said come on and took us upstairs to a booth. Anyways we order a bucket and sat there for an hour trying to get someone to put basketball on, but nobody would help. Finally took the last 2 beers and shoved them in my pants and we left the car there and jumped into a red cab headed for the zona.
As we got close to Centro police cars were coming from everywhere with lights and sirens going. It was crazy they were driving on the wrong side of the road nearly crashing into on coming cars. We did learn later there was a gun battle involving AK 47's sounds drug related but the police claimed it was traffic related.
Finally we did have no problem finding the games on in the Zona. Of course to much drinking led to to much drama. On one of my walks around the Zona to escape the drama I did run into Artisttyp who seemed to be enjoying a nice night chilling in the zona. He did end up meeting up with us for a drink. Of course I must apoligize to Art for dragging into him into the drama. She latched on to his ear and the tears started flowing. I could read his mind, "this is no way to spend a night in the zona." So lo siento my amigo. And I understand your rapid departure.
And then if the night wasn't bad enough my MBGF narrowly avoided what would have been a financial disaster in her life. I better not say more. But a note to myself not a good idea for us to spend a nice night back in Zona Norte.

La Zona is where it's at.There are a couple of pleasant differences. Most of these clubs have few, or zero, gringos. While some guys may feel intimidated by being the only white guy in the joint (not referring to you, of course) , I've rarely encountered hostility, and usually friendliness. But, that's beside the point.
The nice thing is that with the lack of gringos comes a distinct lack of bullshit. Yes, the ficha prices are the same. But there is no cheese plate, sneaking in a bag of chips, dollar tips for every swinging dick who comes by. Meseros seem genuinely grateful for a 10p tip. As in a normal club, you almost always have the same mesero. Nobody is constantly hustling you for drinks. So, while the prices aren't much better than the Zona, the attitude seems to be much further ahead. I've always maintained that locals wouldn't put up with 10% of the bullshit gringos visiting the Zona put up with. That's why I do most of my partying outside the Zona these days.

Now if you are an HK kind of guy I'm sure all it would take is sticking your head in the door and you would probably turn around and run out. However if you don't mind hanging out in a local type bar with larger than average girl next door types this place could be right up your alley. Now as far as the barkers and meseros this place employees, use extreme caution this place has been hiring shady characters for years. Every time I walk by, once they realize that I'm not interested in going in they will try to sell me every drug under the sun. Long time lurker, first time poster. Been traveling to Tijuana and back many many times over the past few years, and I've noticed a few common mistakes rookies like myself and seasoned pros tend to do every now and then. So I've decided to post some of the things I've learned in my years both on and off the track.
1. Don't bring anything you're not willing to lose. A cell phone? No problem. Most of the girls probably have better phones than yours, and stealing amongst girls is rampant. Your family heirloom necklace your mom gave you on your christening? That should stay home. Most meseros are."honest", but all it takes is one crooked one to ruin your trip. Keep your wits about you, and don't flash anything that would tempt someone to do something stupid.
2. Take care of yourself. When the season get warm, you get sweaty. If you get offended by a girl who's crotch smells like dirty pennies (or worse, like the outhouse door of a tuna boat) , don't be a double standard because she's not as enthusiastic giving you a BJ with your sweaty, vinegary balls. Bring some moist towelettes for Christ's sake. I'm not even going to start on dingleberries.
3. Don't get drunk. Everyone loves to drink. But when you're in a foreign country called Mexico, you have to be aware. A good buzz should be about as far as you go. Lay off, drink some water, and recover before the next round. This goes double if you're flying solo.
4. Nothing in Mexico is free. On the flip side, everything has a price. If you're willing to pay enough for it, you can get it. Just don't moan that it's too expensive. Negotiate. That's your responsibility. There may be an oil cartel, but there ain't no pussy cartel, especially with the number of ladies lined up on the average Saturday night. You have the money, you make the offers. She don't want it? Move on.
5. Speaking of moving on, don't get trapped by the same pussy. Strip club hounds have a term called an "ATF"- or "all-time-favorite." Forget it. You didn't travel across the border into Mexico to get guilt-tripped by a girl since you promised her last time after your last "mind-blowing" session when she came twice and no one had ever done that before and age doesn't matter because you're different and she can see past your outside to your good heart and that's why she's the only person you should be buying drinks for, not the 18-year old new hottie from Monterrey with the gravity-defying natural-C cups who you just offered to take upstairs out of frustration after waiting an hour for your supposed ATF to finish up with another client who means nothing to her like you do so she's really sorry so buy her a VIP, because she's your ATF, and also so she can shoot daggers and seethe at who just tried to take you, her moneymaker (I mean, her novio) away from her.

13. Asians are the goddamned wet dream of every single bar girl in the Zona. The overtipping, the lack of grabbiness, and the stereotype of smaller. Which is funny, because from what I've heard from girls, some Asian guys like to pretend they didn't understand the girl and pay less than what was agreed upon. White guys are next simply because the old ones don't cause too much trouble upstairs due to their age. Black guys, I feel sorry for, because I've seen some guys get shut down by street and bar girls because of their supposed size. Most of the ones I've shared a beer with in the Zona are straight shooters, so it's a shame that so many get dismissed out of hand. So I've decided to post some of the things I've learned in my years both on and off the track.

Wish I could stay each night at Ticuan, it is much better and rigth now it is less money.I would check the Rodeway Inn in San Ysidro. It looks to be about the nicest motel in San Ysidro from the outside. When I went past there last week they had a banner hanging down advertising I think something like $49 for week nights not sure about weekends. It might be a special rate so if you get quoted anything else ask them about the banner you saw on the building. Its also a short walk to the border.

Had opportunity to head down to the Zona for half a day. By the way, Masked Turbator posted a classic piece of work on 4/21. I usually step into the bars less traveled and this time was no different. Me: San Diego resident, semi-regular monger in Tijuana (anywhere from 5-10 times per year). I have a regular passport (book) that is current, and that's what I always use when crossing back into ther USA at the border.
Except, as an aside, there was one time a few months ago when I had spent a weekend further down in Baja with a buddy and, when we were sitting in the line to cross back into the USA, I realized I'the forgotten to bring my passport. I initially freaked out, figuring it was going to be a major hassle, but when it came our time to pass thru, I just showed the officer my Calif drivers license, told him I forgot my passport, and he let me thru with no muss no fuss.
At the time I figured I just dodged a bullet and counted my blessings. And since then never again have I forgotten to bring my passport with me when going to Mex.
So here's the situation: last week I decided I'd had enough of the long lines, so I went downtown to the S. D. County building and I applied for a passport card so I can use the Ready Lane. I brought my current (expires 2022) passport book with me, and during the application process they took my passport book away from me (which I hadn't expected them to do) as part of the passport card application process, and they told me I will receive my passport book back, plus my new passport card, in about 4-6 weeks.
So apparently, if you already have a passport book, and you apply for a passport card, you have to temporarily surrender your passport book to Uncle Sam until sends it back to you along with your new passport card.
So as of right now I am passport-less. Except I do have my old expired (in 2012) passport book. It's my old one that I never threw out a few years ago when I renewed it.
I figured. No biggie. I'll just not be able to go to Tijuana until I receive back my current passport book, and my new passport card, in the mail in a few weeks.
Fate had other plans. Just got a call from a buddy in L. A. Who's going to be in town Wednesday, and wants to hit up Zona Norte, but doesn't want to fly solo. And, as an enticement for my accompaniment, has offered to treat me to a round or two with HK or Adelita's finest (plus all I can drink and eat). Hell, that's an offer I can't refuse!
What should I do? My options are:

Forgive me if this is a bit long-winded but I could use a bit of advice from you learned gentlemen about whether or not I should head into Tijuana tomorrow.

I initially freaked out, figuring it was going to be a major hassle, but when it came our time to pass thru, I just showed the officer my Calif drivers license, told him I forgot my passport, and he let me thru with no muss no fuss.
At the time I figured I just dodged a bullet and counted my blessings. And since then never again have I forgotten to bring my passport with me when going to Mex.
So here's the situation: last week I decided I'd had enough of the long lines, so I went downtown to the S. D. County building and I applied for a passport card so I can use the Ready Lane. I brought my current (expires 2022) passport book with me, and during the application process they took my passport book away from me (which I hadn't expected them to do) as part of the passport card application process, and they told me I will receive my passport book back, plus my new passport card, in about 4-6 weeks.
So apparently, if you already have a passport book, and you apply for a passport card, you have to temporarily surrender your passport book to Uncle Sam until sends it back to you along with your new passport card.
So as of right now I am passport-less. Except I do have my old expired (in 2012) passport book. It's my old one that I never threw out a few years ago when I renewed it.
I figured. No biggie. I'll just not be able to go to Tijuana until I receive back my current passport book, and my new passport card, in the mail in a few weeks.
Fate had other plans. Just got a call from a buddy in L. A. Who's going to be in town Wednesday, and wants to hit up Zona Norte, but doesn't want to fly solo. And, as an enticement for my accompaniment, has offered to treat me to a round or two with HK or Adelita's finest (plus all I can drink and eat). Hell, that's an offer I can't refuse!
What should I do? My options are:
1) Don't take the chance. Don't go.
2) Take just my CA drivers license and show that to the agent when crossing back over, and tell the truth. That my current passport book was submitted with my application for passport card and I haven't gotten it back yet.

Trust me, I have done that, twice. The people wanted a birth. Cert, or current passbook, but I showed them the instructions for the card app, it says an expired book can be submitted after the agency verifies you have a current book. Read the instructions, it is very clear on that.
But don't wait, just go as you did before, the state department told CBP that they cannot refuse entry to an American citizen. If you want to be on the safe side carry birth cert and a DL.

Just walked up to them said I forgot it in my car and they verified my info. Had to meet the Super but only talked to him for 5 mins after verifying my information he let me pass. As past advice, your DL is just as doable to cross back in.

I went down today with $105 and 70 pesos. I left San Diego at 2pm by way of the trolley for $2.50. I arrived at the border about 2:45. I crossed over and walked up the hill to get a taxi. I would check the Rodeway Inn in San Ysidro. It looks to be about the nicest motel in San Ysidro from the outside. When I went past there last week they had a banner hanging down advertising I think something like $49 for week nights not sure about weekends. It might be a special rate so if you get quoted anything else ask them about the banner you saw on the building. Its also a short walk to the border.Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work for me.
The banner was down by the time I arrived and the price was up to $60 on some nights and $70 on other nights. I took a look at one of the rooms and it seemed clean but tiny. I've been coming to Zona Norte for several years and have spent several days there over the last week. Not much to say that hasn't already been said a thousand times, so I won't go into the boring details.
I think the street girls have gone downhill a bit over the last few years. Too many of them are the same ones at the same spots as my first trip years ago. On Tuesday evening I was enjoying my taco from the best cart that I have found (south east corner of Calle Coahuila and Ninos Heros). I know people feel they save money by using pesos instead of dollars, but for me it simply isn't worth the headaches.
The biggest pain is having a wallet with 2 sets of currency. Most of the local businesses usually have reasonable exchange rates. For example, the tiny steak place across from LC (Viejo Lobo) charges $12 or 150 pesos for a really good steak dinner. If I used pesos that dinner would have saved me a whopping 41 cents (based on today's interbank oanda.com exchange rate of 12.9387).
In the end, if I spend $250 for a full day of mongering, I think using pesos would likely save me about $5 or $10.

Business had me in San Diego for over 2 weeks, which gave me lots of time to hit Zona Norte. Some has already been written, here is a little more.
During the daylight hours I normally walk to Zona Norte from the boarder and I recommend it. I walk pretty fast and for me it is 35 minutes from the UETA lot to Hong Kong. During some of my walks I would stop at the shops along the way. If I bought something there were extras offered; prescription drugs, weed, and girls were typically offered. I felt safe during the daytime walk, but I would not try it after dark. The worst part was the walk over the Tijuana river because the smell was so bad and I didn't appreciate listening to the people that live under the bridge yelling up at me.
Renting a room in Cascadas is pretty normal for most of us, and I'm no exception. I started out renting a room for the day, then I switched to renting a clean room for each girl. There are 2 problems renting a room for the whole night. First, you only get 2 towels with the rental. 2) SENTRI and GLOBAL ENTRY ROCK. So does NEXUS. Over the past years been to secondary twice one for having newspaper in my pant backpocket and using SENTRI car lane. Random selection. The questions have varied from a wave to deep discussions on the "One litter rule" "48 hours stay rule / One litter", "what did you do in Mexico?, What did you buy?"and various other location questions / road trip deep in Mexico.
It seems to me you have the VIP SENTRI package for some reason and you are not a CBP staff. That is great HT!

Keep in mind there is some sort of customs house building that is on the right side just before the entrance turnstiles, and the line for THAT sometimes backs up into the Ready Lane line, and makes it look like there is a second line, for the Ready / Sentri entry, to the right of the general public line.
I only bring this up because, the very first time I used my Ready card, I made the mistake of wasting about an hour waiting in that line, thinking it was for Ready / Sentri entry thru the turnstiles, only to see that it wasn't for Ready / Sentri entry at all but rather for locals waiting to enter the building on the right...and if I had simply walked past that line, I would've seen that the Ready line was only about 20 people deep near the front. I've never made that mistake again.
In general, I've never seen the Ready line backed all the way up to the Pedestrian bridge, even during the busiest of periods. In fact, I've never seen it backed up so far that it goes out of the building (if that). But that's in my experience.

From the other Tijuana site, Nikki's is a bar, BBQ joint cum brothel with rooms on the premises. It's owned by a couple black bros, one named Larry, from San Diego.
It's not doing too well in food, drinks, rooms or chicas, reportedly older and chubbier women with high prices. Other bros have been patronizing this joint to help the business going, but that area is dangerous to walk to day or night. There have been a number of choking and robberies reported recently.
For policias to bring in armored vehicles for the raid, they must anticipate resistance and shooting like cartels. It's very serious business.
I hope the bros did not get caught up in child prostitution business. It could be very bad for all involved.

Next month I will be going down with my Brother who is slightly disabled and can't walk far, so I am going to have to drive across. It will be my first time doing that except for mistakenly doing it 4 years ago, like the Marine who's stuck there now. Any advice on where to park, and how best to return? I'm assuming there's a special line for Sentri but my car is not approved since I got a new one. I think I'm going to have to have it inspected before I go across next time or have they loosened up those requirements?
AFAIK The haven't waived the prior inspection requirement for adding or replacing a vehicle on your Sentri card.

I seem to remember reading about it and it being a big pain so I just continue to park at the border for overnight stays due to the hassle.

Just as many people with passports as cards. Everyone was asking "why" But yesterday was a whole different story. At 7 pm I crossed the Ped bridge / no line! I don't think I'm going to bother was getting my car registered for Mexico. I don't see why it's even necessary when the person driving it is responsible. What good does inspecting the car do when you can just refit it later for smuggling if that's your intention?

IIRC, there are signs that say you can't park longer than 24 hours. However, maybe that has changed. I've parked overnight, along with others, and had no problems.
I believe that when all is said and done the southbound pedestrian entrance will be back on the other side of the freeway. I am pretty sure that when it is all done there will be entrances to Mexico on both sides of the freeway. The problem is that the US has not funded the next stages of the expansion. Mexico has finished its part which must mean they are richer than the US.

Mexico's first game is 8:30 Friday. I don't know what Clubs will be open that early but I am sure it will be rockin in the Zona for a few weeks. Sports and Girls! WOW! I LOVE Mexico!
HK is the prime choice viewing location if open and not going thru a cleaning process, large TV screens. Are their others showing the game on Revolution? Keep us posted on the observation thanks.
Parking overnight at a Trolley / Coaster station requires to be in a designated area to avoid the ticketing (72 hours limit applies). This is not posted at the stations. Ask station security to identify the parking area. They are hard to find at some stations. Most are private security with limited knowledge. Give it a try. The 24 hrs parking limit is posted at staions.

Last time I was in Tijuana was in July of last year. I made a sojurn to Thailand in December and have been avoiding the zone due to trying to save money for another trek to land of smiles but I figured what the hell. A couple hundred dollar expenditure isn't going to kill my budget and I have until the end of August and begining of September to save up some more for Vacation. I have to admit I was very, very nervous. This is the first time this has ever happened. Also, this is the very first time in Tijuana where I actually drove my car after going to a bar.
My turn came and they made me go up the stairs and sit at a little desk. Some slimy cocksucker in a blue shirt started asking questions. I played dumb again and he just said "Americano?" No shit, Sherlock. Then he put a tube into the portable breathalyzer and told me to exhale into it. I did, as slowly as I could, while he warned me not to stop.
The machine beeped. He looked at it and it said. 034. He looked a bit disappointed and told me, in a rather curt manner, that I was free to leave. Well, chinga tu pinche madre, cabron.
I collected my license, registration and keys from the uniformed lady at the front of the trailer, got into my car and left. On the way down Agua Caliente there was another checkpoint, but, thank God, they didn't stop me.
All this on a Thursday. Dayum.

I knew it was a mistake the second it escaped my lips. I wasn't hammered and I don't think I smelled of alcohol. The kid was in his 20's, so he probably had little experience anyway. I should have just said no. In my particular case, over the past 3+ hours, or so, I'd had three beers, one shot of mescal, several dances at Las Pulgas, some carne seca and two street hot dogs. My last beer had been about 30 minutes before being stopped.

Go to Rosarita or Ensenada to relax and enjoy the playa then come to Tijuana to play.

I've been told you have to go to the other side where the trolly station is to cross into Tijuana.
I used to take the exit ramp at camino la plaza and drive straight to the last parking lot for $9 and just walk thru the iron spinning gate or whatever the name is and take a taxi by the McDonalds to the zona.
How do you do cross by foot nowadays?

I parked for two days there this past weekend and they now charge $7. 00 per 8 hours or $21.00 per 24 hours /1 day.

Is it worth the risk between 11 pm and 4 am?I can't comment on the driving safety issue between 11 PM and 4 AM. Personally I would NOT do it or suggest anyone to drive at that hour, just too risky, I would not even suggest a cab ride at this hour. Last October / November 2013 I took a cab back and forth (Tijuana-Rosarito) but this was between the hours of 12 pm and 6 pm.
Now the good news is that the new highway is in and done so it is almost a straight shot from Tijuana central to Rosarito (you don't have to follow the scenic route on the coast). Then a month and a half ago I drove down to Ensenada and back but again in daylight hours.
Have fun! (and consider changing your hotel reservations, stay in Tijuana hotel and travel by cab or car for touristy stuff in Rosarito in the day linght hours and play at night in the Zona.).

You can park for free just down the block from Jack in the Box on Border Village Road by the Good will store or in back of CVS which is about another block down. Border Village drive splits off where the KFC is. I have never had any problems parking there.

.If the 50 mgs work / go for it! Some of us need a stronger dose. I get some pills for a co-worker in the states and he will cut the 100's in 1/4 and "happy day"! I have had Years of destruction to my Body (Drinking, Diet, and work out consisting of walking and lifting a beer can! I need the full 100's. Even that sometimes don't work if I have not gotten sleep! But when working 90% of the time / it lasts 5 hours (for me) I have to say, I am 60 years old. I quit drinking 6 years ago. I have lost 80 lbs in the past 3 years. I eat healthy, and I exercise and I am in the best shape in my life.

I get a little lightheaded and short of breath when I walk fast, but not severe. Viagra works by blood going from major organs to "extremities" (penis). Also the pill will not give you an "instant hard on (it takes about 1/2 to 1 hour!) And you NEED to be "turned on sexually' It just does not give you wood in 30 minutes! Hehehe.

I usually get a generic 100 mg in T-J for $4 up to $8 depends where you go. And brand name I see go for 10 to 12 dollars each. I can't remember he name of the place but they close early like 5 or 6 and are just past the taxi's after you cross the street at Mcdonalds and on the left as you walk south towards the pedestrian bridge to the zona. My last trip they tried to sell me 5 for $20.00 but I did not want to carry them on me so I passed on the deal.

Best price I've found is for generic in sousa, dr. A convience store. 90,100 mg pills for a great price. Quality is name brand equivalent.

Sorry in advance, this was more of an eating trip report than my usual "Face in the Ass" report.
I headed to Tijuana for a couple of nights to celebrate another old ass birthday on Thursday night. Parked at the Duty Free lot for 7 bucks a night. Booked the Ticuan as usual and took out a butt load of pesos with my CS card, got 12.91 per the dollar.
My number one regular showed up at 5 and she put the birthday hurting on this old bastard, that is what I get for playing with a girl in her twenties. After a lot of questions were answered, I decided on Villa Saverios for the big dinner. What a great place! We ordered the two house specializes, the short ribs and the prime rib. We both shared the plates, both were outstanding, but the short ribs were incredible! We had a couple of drinks, one appetizer, two entrees that came with soup or salad, and a tasty birthday cake for less that 80 bucks!
Sent her home and then headed to the second home, HK. The night manager bought me a drink, I really like that dude. After, headed to LC, and one of my favorites told me it was her birthday on Saturday, and asked if I would stay around for her birthday; could I say no? Stopped a few other places, last stop was CC, as usual. Partied with Denise and Iris (the tall girl). Iris is really a sweetie and naughty at the same time when she is drinking; had a great time!
The next afternoon, when I woke up, I headed to the recommended La Fruiteria for a late brunch. I had the recommended Omelette Bicentenairo with roast beef, onions, tomatoes, and three different sauces; excellent! The World Cup was on TV and Holland was kicking the shit out of Spain; enjoyable to say the least. BTW, the World Cup coverage was everywhere in Tijuana; I liked the vibe!
Later I headed to HK. It seemed that it was "Big Ass Friday" at HK. The talent was sucking and there were a bunch of big ass chicas dancing, no not dancing, just walking around with their big asses on stage. I was disappointed in HK for the very first time. The best thing about HK that night, was the big screen was showing the final game of the Stanley Cup; yea Kings! After a few stops, CC for the last. I partied with Iris and a new girl, name escapes me.
Woke up late, as usual, on Saturday and decided just to eat at the Ticuan. The food is good there and I was being lazy; worked out well. My LC date was scheduled for 5, so I just chilled in the hotel for the most part. But it was the LC girl's birthday, so I walked down to 5th, took a right and headed to flower shop land. I picked out a nice floral set and took a cab back. Did not want to look like the only Gringo walking around with flowers dork.
As I was waiting in the bar for my "Better late than ever" date. Some US dude came up as asked if I was part of "The Event. " The dude reserved all the comfy seating in the back of the bar for the event. The event was about American men meeting Mexican women. Out of the 5-6 men that showed, only one spoke Spanish. When the women starting arriving, they were arriving by the tonnage! Holy fuck! They kept getting bigger as each one arrived, and not young either. Only one or two women seem to speak a little English. They all set around looking and smiling at each other. The whole event seemed pathetic.
The birthday girl finally showed and was hungry for seafood. Before she got there I searched on my Surface tablet for restaurants. The one that showed up the most was Los Arcos, number 8 on Trip Advisor. I thought, what the hell, and we headed there. I have been to Mariscos Negro before and did like the food, but hated the 10-11 piece band that blasted the music throughout the restaurant. I was completely impressed with Los Arcos! The food, music, and meseros were all outstanding. The place really did a great job for her birthday as well. Cake, music, and tequila were all part of the celebration. My dumb ass just had to try the tequila in the jar with the dead snake inside; why in the hell not! The tequila was good. Two mixed drinks, two tequilas, one appetizer, birthday cake, and two entrees were less than 65 bucks!
Headed back to the hotel for birthday rack follies. Afterwards, she said she wanted to sleep for a little bit, which turned out until 6 in the morning. Usually I don't have sleepovers, mom does not allow such actions. But it was her birthday; exception was made. Later, I went on a hotdog run, and when I returned, I saw the dude who organized the "Event" and I asked how it went. He said it went great and I could join the group for as little as 100 bucks. I said, "Dude! I saw the talent that showed up; no thanks. " On my way back to the room, I saw one of the attendees of the event. He was asking the bell hop about getting a girl this time of night. I told the bell hop in Spanish, "Just send him to Hong Kong or Adelita!
It was a great 3 nights for sure!

Thanks for a great report Tom J. I would like to learn more about " The Event" . Seeing as how I'm easily amused and enjoy people watching, I think there might be some comidic value in just watching the thing unfold. So do they just sit there and look at each other and if there is a love connection they head for the vrooom. Or do they head out on a date?
I also appreciate the restrauant reviews. I have passed by Los Arcos many times, but now I think I will try it. As far as Negro Durazno goes I love the food there, but that band is annoying as hell. Now I will usually skip the one down there in the Costco area and go to the one in La Mesa. There is no band there. My favorite is the Mushrooms and shrimp appetizer covered in a thick cheese. HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY.
