Just got back from Tijuana today and it was no wait for Ready Lane and Sentri. General looked like 10 min top. If time is of concern, I suggest this for convenience. Also, while going into Tijuana, we crossed over to the enter US side and got a cab for 90 pesos to Zone. Yes, 90 pesos, the trip back was 100 pesos. Cheapest fare yet from Otay.I don't really understand the ready line. Last time I came through I was all prepared with my passport and went to the ready line. Short line but when I got there the guy said I needed to go to the back of the standard line, with all the people who didn't have passports and needed to try to talk their way into the USA. I waited about two hours to get through, once I got there the guy just waved me through. Before that there were all sorts of people with problems, and one guy who got led away in handcuffs which shut down the line for about 20 minutes.

I don't go enough, only once a year or so, to mess with the Sentri card. I wound up using the handicapped line, nobody seemed to mind.

Travelers who obtain and travel with a radio frequency identification or RFID- enabled travel document may receive the benefits of using a Ready Lane to expedite the inspection process while crossing the border. RFID-enabled cards approved by the Department of Homeland Security include: the USA Passport Card; the Enhanced Driver's License (EDL); the Enhanced Tribal Card (ETC); trusted traveler cards (NEXUS, SENTRI, Global Entry and FAST cards); the new Enhanced Permanent Resident Card (PRC) or new Border Crossing Card (BCC). I recommend you get the passport card which has the RFID but if you only go once a year you need a strategy to get back like time of day to re-enter. For ex...Monday - Wed from 11 to 2 am, there are very few people at the San Ysidro border.

I agree with sound7. It doesn't do any good to give the agents any grief. At best it will only slow the process for you and everybody behind you. Also keep in mind that ISIS has caused serious security concerns and that ISIS has successfully recruited Americans that might look exactly like anybody walking across that boarder. With the holiday and ISIS (and other threats), we should all expect crossing delays.

When you get your GE or SENTRI card you will cross without delay. You will wish you did it sooner.....so don't be late!!

There is no way of telling if any of the agents are milking the system for premium holiday pay. It certainly is possible.I do want to say I was talking to an agent who said they don't want too many (Unchecked) foreign people in one space inside a USA boarder area. And now just reported those Fuckin ISIS guys Beheaded another American. So I guess it is going to be EVEN WORSE. DANM.

I got in the general line at. 12:10 Labor Day and it moved 2 times in 40 minutes. I moved 20 feet in that time. The ready lane had a continuous flow. That's when it was time to GTFO and use plan be. When I reached the front of the line the gates where open, including the turnstile gate. Cbp was on the Mexico side the most I've ever seen. And like you said there was no line once inside. After I crossed the gates I was the 4th person from our friends in uniform. Usually there is about 25-35 people in front of me.

I stayed at the aqua Rio on sat as most hotel where booked. That's what I get for booking to late. Room 303

With the long weekend. It seemed like a good time to at least spend a little time in Tijuana. I tried to book a room for Sunday night but everything online said they were soldout. So I started looking for an alternate. I like to stay somewhere around Las Pulgas, it makes it more convient to get back to the room since I usually end up there. I decided to give Hotel Aqua Rio a try. This hotel has the same owners as the Ticuan, but is nowhere near as nice. I guess it wouldn't be a bad choice if your on a budget. The price was around 30 dollars. The rooms were clean and the shower had good water pressure. However the 2 major problems were no air conditioner (room was a hot box) and the parking sucked.

I spent Sunday afternoon hanging out in Adelita and HK. I had expected things to be packed. But Adelita was pretty empty and Hk seemed like a regular Sunday. I ended up meeting up with the MBGF in Tanapa bar, or something that sounds like that over on 1st st. Not a bad place to hang out if you just want to relax and have a drink. While sitting there the MBGF started schooling me on how the Zona works. She says " when I use to work en the bar Its muy importante you become an occtriz. " It took a little while to figure out what she was saying. But she was saying she learned how to become an actress. I don't know why but that just struck me as being funny, but they are entertaners. Maybe to coincide with the Oscars we could nominate chicas for an academy award. Here are a couple catogories, best performance in the sack, or while getting a ficha.

I headed back on Labor day around 12:30 p. M when I got in the ready lane from previous experience it looked like it was a 2 hour wait. However for some reason Cbp seemed to be manipulating the line. It turned out to be only a 45 minute wait. As soon as they let us through the turnstyle, there was no one in the building, and you could walk right up to the agent. Never seen that before..

.Per my previous post which I directly cut and past what an RFID card is and which carry them inside. As stated on the Ready lane web page: "RFID-enabled cards approved by the Department of Homeland Security include: the USA Passport Card; the Enhanced Driver's License (EDL); the Enhanced Tribal Card (ETC); trusted traveler cards (NEXUS, SENTRI, Global Entry and FAST cards); the new Enhanced Permanent Resident Card (PRC) or new Border Crossing Card (BCC)". .Going into Tijuana is very easy but coming back to the US is a pain. So for those who did not drive and park a car at San Ysidro or flew in and took a cab / trolly / bus and do not have a Sentri card or Ready Card. I suggest you enter Tijuana at San Ysidro but leave Tijuana at Otay Mesa. Yes, there are cabs on the US side and a bus route.

But since it has been explained they were just trying to keep the building clear due to the reports of ISIS plotting something and even reports of them coming up from Mexico. I will even appreciate extra delays if it means a better job of screening to keep terrorists from entering our soil.

Ahhh the good old days when ISIS was just the name of my favorite dive bar in Centro.

Hey guys,

Are any bars having two girl teams that'll both join you upstairs? Any particular ones better than the others for this? Or any street girls that are standing in pairs that will go up together? Any tips?About 2 weeks ago I was chatting with 2 HK girls in the booth next to me. After a few minutes one of the girls suggested we have a 3-way in cascadas. I wasn't interested so I turned down the offer. Later I saw them together on the upstairs shaving cream stage. These girls were not as sexy as the average HK girl.

So do the girls in Tijuana always want tu use a condom?

Thank you for you answers.

2. I think you are in for a wonderful vacation full of jacking off.

Thank you for you answers.I would say forget the rental car unless you stay overnight in California each night and want to check out San Diego. You do not need the car in Tijuana and likely cannot take it into Mexico anyway without paying a lot extra for insurance.

Also stay with HK, and Las Chavelas and Tropical for sexo natural (no condom) also called sin condon in Spanish. That or take pot luck with some escorts.

Pay for play is much, MUCH more expensive minute by minute in Tijuana than Asia.

Good Luck!

I've looked online like escorts / CL / BP and some say 3 some, but I'd rather have it happen more naturally like bar girls or street girls. Calling two girls to my room I've never seen before sounds iffy. Most likely a severe disappointment.

My approach has always been that while I am drinking with a girl I bring up the idea and if she entertains it I ask her to choose a girl. If I don't like the girl then I tell her to choose another one util we find the jewel.

Of course, this doesn't guarantee a perfect 3 some but it highly increases the likelihood.

Good luck and cheers!

Sorry for the delay in my report guys!! Posted a report on another site and stupid me forgot about this site. Will keep it short and sweet, and surely some of you have already read it on that other site.

Anyways, I was extremely but pleasantly surprised at how fast flights are. I must have spent more time waiting in airports that actual flight time. Flight from Vegas to San Diego was extremely turbulent, so much so that they did not have time to even pass out refreshments. It is extremely easy to get to Tijuana from San Diego Airport. Right after you get off the flight, and you get to baggage claim, exit the airport and you will be at the bus stop. You know you are at the right place if you see a pedestrian bridge overhead. You take the 992 bus and just pay attention the trolley station will be on the left hand side, the driver will announce the stops. Cross the street to the station and buy your ticket and wait, a trolley will be there shortly. (I was lucky enough to cross the street as the trolley was arriving. Bought ticket and boarded the trolley) Alternatively, if you'd like, as soon as you exit the airport; make a left and just follow sidewalk until you cross an overpass then make another left. The walk downtown is like 2-3 miles and is a great walk. The ride from downtown to the border is a bit long so sit back and relax, you cannot miss the stop as it is the end of the line. As soon as you exit the trolley look for the McDonalds, the street to the right of it is the one that leads to Mexico. Follow that path and you will eventually cross paths with the people coming back to the USA. Make a left and continue walking into Mexico. There will be a pedestrian overpass, if you go up, you will land in the taxi depot, just walk up to one of the taxistas and ask Adelita Bar. I always make it a habit of asking how much to a certain place he should say $5. He will drop you off in front of Adelitas, and there you go you are in the Zona. Full ride from Airport to Adelitas was about 90 minutes.

I'll go over the hotel next. I had been debating on either staying in Rizo de Oro or Hotel Ticuan, for this short trip I decided to stay in Rizo de Oro to be close to the action. Got the Master Suite which is really nice. The room is actually two rooms that are separated. The main room has a bed, a big screen, the jacuzzi, the shower (which is right next to the door so if someone opens the door the showeree would be in full view) the sink, and the toilet room. On the far end of the room is a smaller room with a bed, a small table with two chairs and a smaller TV. Very nice room. They will ask for a deposit for the Television remote and the key. Also one thing, when they walk you to your room, make sure they turn on the air conditioner if you need it. The guy thought he had turned it on and about twenty minutes later I was drenched in sweat. I am skipping the Chica reports on this report as I will put them in their respective threads.

Onto safety, as with everything make sure you are alert at all times when walking in the Zona, the phone can wait. Last thing you want is getting mugged or jacked or something. Stay alert! A good tip I received is walking either on the street or close to the street, don't get near the alleyways and doorways where people can pop out of. I made a huge mistake in giving someone a lot more time than I should have and he followed me around for the better part of two days. I consider myself lucky that I was only taken for $20 rather than my phone or my wallet or worse. I'll leave it at that but if anyone wants details I can provide. Also, anything you can get legally, you can get it yourself. You do not need someone to get you food or girls.

Speaking Spanish does help alot and I had an awesome time with some girls without going arriba. Just drinking, joking, and chilling. (Maybe some kissing!) Learning the language will help as you become more sociable, and for me at least, interacting with the locals is a very positive experience.

My meal of choice was going to the Oxxo next to Mermaids, and getting a lemonade there and then going to the Taco Stand on the corner next to Rizo. The Biztek Ranchero tacos there are amazing. There is also a taco place on I believe Primera, on the other side of Ninos Heroes, they have 10 peso fish tacos that are good as fuck, double tortilla and everything. They do have stands all over the place but I'm not a big fan of hot dogs so I only had the tacos.

That is all I have for now, the football is about to start so expect girl reports when I get back from work tonight. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

Haven't been to Tijuana in a number of years. Going down on Friday and hope to pick up some V and antibiotics. Can anyone recommend a good pharmacy with reasonable prices? Also, I want to declare them if I need to crossing back to US. I'd like a pharmacy that can provide a prescription.

Finally, what are the pedestrian lines like coming back to the US during the day. Any recommendations on best times? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Lines on Safurdays at midnight is about 1 minute long.

BTW Every one should be aware that Tijuana sells maximum strength generic vitamins. So easy on the stuff. Ask the pharmacist about recommended use. Don't just pop them like candy. Also don't buy them from HK or Adelitas where they're unregulated and you have no idea if you're getting quality or not. And they freaking price gouge you $16 for a generic that is priced $4 from a pharmacy.

I have not been to Tijuana in years. I am going to go down this week and just wondered how the scene has changed. Perhaps the board can share some tips.

1. I used to drive to the border and park in a huge parking lot. I think I paid $10. I then walked across the border, hopped in a taxi and simply told the driver Adelitas. Adelitas is in the zone so that's where I tell them to go. How much is a taxi now to Adelitas once you cross the border?

2. A drivers license was acceptable to cross back into the USA. But recent reports on the board indicate you need a passport now. Is this true?

3. I am reading girls (SW in the alley) are charging 200-300 pesos. What are most of you paying the SW?

4. I like to recharge in between SW. Where is a good place to sit for a while and recharge (restaurant, bar, etc)?

1. They charges $7 from Sunday thru Friday and $10 on Saturday for a 24 hour period. (If you parked on certain day, they will charge same fee for the rest of the parking) After parking, you have to crossed the big bridge to cross the border. If you are big guy, that is a big deal. LOL.

I usually pay 50 pesos to adelita without tip. That is less than $4. 00.

Showdown. You can use a DL but it's very likely you'll get shit from the agent and probably a lecture. You'll be better off with a passport. The exception is the new-fangled licenses (I forget the name) but not all states issue them. CA does not, AFAIK.

If you have a passport card you can use the Ready Lane and cut a bunch of time off of your wait, depending on what time you cross.

Thanks for the info. Are you using pesos or dollars for taxi and SW?

Can you give some general directions for Caliente casino?

Thanks.

Showdown.I use mexican pesos in mexico. Caliente is cross street from Hong Kong back door.

Ok I am getting two answers regarding id (I am a US citizen) -is it a drivers license or passport card etc?

Showdown.I know many people who are illegal in the US, but have driver's licenses from whatever state. Also, I am a US citizen and I have a Thai driver's license. A DL has nothing to do with citizenship.

Hi all,

New 25 year old guy to the monger scene, and am looking to start the hobby in Tijuana. Looking to go down for Halloween and have some questions.

1) Do the long term rooms in Cascadas have AC? I'm a heavy guy and hate sweating while I sleep.

2) Has anyone done holidays down in the zone. More specifically Halloween? I know HK is running an event but what about the other bars. Is it a lot more traffic in the area because of it?

3) I plan on going for 8 or so days, October 24th to Nov 2nd, but will be heading into Tijuana from San Diego. If I'm in the zone for that long, how much money should one bring per day? Is it safe to get to Cascadas, and kryptonite cord a document safe to something to store my money / things I don't want stolen? Do all Cascadas rooms have a safe? Has anyone ever had anything disappear from there room? How much money do why'all normally carry down there across the border and how much do why'all carry around to the bars?

4) my bank is wells Fargo. How do why'all go about withdrawing money down there. Do the ATM s work the same way, with a fee applied? What about credit cards down there?

5) do any of why'all plan to be there for Halloween? I don't have membership yet (so no PM) but will soon.

6) is there a dress code for the clubs. No gym shorts or flip flops type places like a lot of strip clubs in USA?

7) anything to avoid? Is there a map somewhere that shows the safe areas and those to avoid? I know tutes are all around, but is there areas that are to be avoided when looking?

8) are the police still doing shakedowns of tourists for trump charges? I know to avoid speaking to pretty much any random guy as the cops can use that as a pretense that you're looking for drugs.

9) finally (for now anyway) where is the closest pharmacy and convenience store to HK / AB?

EZ for us but a few feet can throw a newbie off course for awhile. Also they wouldn't know the front from the back entrance of HK having not been around when there was only the callejon (alley) entrance.

OK, I will now press iron my boxer briefs. LOL.

Showdown.Depends on which Caliente. There are a bunch.

There is one in the alley. There is a much larger, nicer one on Revolucion, complete with slot machines. I forget if it's between 2nd and 3rd, or 3rd and 4th, but you can't miss it. There's another one on Revu and 9th, with a fairly large sports book and a waitress to bring you drinks. There's another one right by the Yellow Taxi stand at the border.

Just want to shout out to all the greats here, I have been taking pleasure in reading all the wisdom there is to be shared on this forum and recently capitalizing on the successes of my fellow wingmen when we head down south.

I look forward to sharing some interesting stories of my own in the near future.

#1- Yes AC. I just stayed and it was very comfortable.

#2- Not been during Halloween but I am sure it should be fun.

#3- Money. There is an ATM at the check in area of Cascadas so it is inside and private (somewhat). I usually carry 1 $100 that is tucked away and when I get ready to go ariba I cash it buying a drink. I also have about 20 - $1 bills and a couple tens. That should do you just fine. The ATM in Cascada dispenses pesos so just do the math and you will be fine. Always have $1 bills as Tijuana and especially HK is a 'tip town'.

#4- I used my Credit card in the ATM. Service fee was $10 but for the convenience don't sweat it.

#5- No. I tend to stay away during holidays and go during 'slow' times like afternoons.

#6- No dress code. Just enjoy.

#7- Take a cab where ever you go.

#8- Probably but just act normal and you will be fine.

#9- There is a pharmacy on every street corner and the prices are all pretty much the same.

Hope this helps,

H1

Hi all,

1) Do the long term rooms in Cascadas have AC? I'm a heavy guy and hate sweating while I sleep.Do an online reservation and request a room with a thermostat AC. The new ones were remodeled and some of them have nice thermostatic AC. Do your best to get those (they require a $10 deposit for a remote). The other rooms have a poor so-called AC that can be loud with very little cool output. So if anything- if they say it's not available- it might be worth a tip to get one. Since you'll be staying for a long time it might be beneficial. I have never stayed that long as I prefer shorter stays. Many here might suggest you get a room at a real hotel- like the Ticuan or other nearby, real hotels and just use Cascadas as the working girl room. I find it very difficult to sleep- both because the cumboys like to sing / whistle while walking the halls at 4 am And because every time you do wake up you realize there are at least 40 cuties downstairs to be had for $200 pesos. It's difficult to go back to sleep with those thoughts in your head! So a little distance might keep you sane.

CASCADAS: The 6th floor (where I stay) have a NEW compressor on the roof for A / C. The rooms are now FREEZING! It will be great with this weekend with the temps in Tijuana around 100 F. Any other hotel: it will be TOO HOT TO FUCK! IMHO. But sweating can be SEXY if both of you and chica are drenched! And of course a Cool shower after sex is GREAT!

I norrnally would stay away from the zone at another hotel. It was like a win win situation after I've come to realize that the cum boys do not come knocking when time is up with the girl. So as soon as I felt a hard on, I headed back down and down again. It was great. Plus, I would think about some of the girls I saw in HK or when the shift changes so I was scared I would miss out on a treasure that has not yet been discovered. So I would grab a drink in HK. Now looking back, I think I may have gotten about 2 or 3 hours of sleep that whole night. But man was it a great night since I got to bang so many girls in 24 hours.

Hi,

I would love to know the details. All of us get ripped off regularly. Don't be embarrassed about getting ripped off because even hard-core veterans still get ripped off occasionally. Rip-offs come with the territory.Well, after doing my first lap around the alley and back towards Hong Kong, I was approached by this one guy. I made the mistake of giving him the time of day. He basically escorted me around the Zona for the entire day calling my hotel room and waiting outside of the hotel. I did give him some money in hopes that he would leave me alone. Nope, he tried pushing girls on me in the hotel lobby and would not leave me alone. After a sob story, I reluctantly agreed to meet one of his girls. By this time I was tired of his crap and a bit scared of what he might do. He had told me it would be $50 for an hour. He demanded I pay up front but I refused and said I would pay afterwards. He pleaded and asked for at least $20 up front. I agreed and I went upstairs to meet the girl. Turns out the girl had agreed to $30 for the regular 20 minutes. By this point I was so turned off I had a few problems and ended up not having sex with her. I didn't see that guy again for the rest of the trip, which I think was much better than if I would have gotten mugged or choked out or worse. Lesson learned.

leave HK to get a Mermaids massage. As I was crossing the street one of those guys follows me and tells me to go there. When I came out 45 minutes later he started pestering me for a tip, which I refused. I'd go in various bars and he would be there waiting when I came out. This continued for a couple of hours until I bluntly told him he never helped me in any way and I wasn't going to give him anything.

I feel bad for the lives these people live but if we give them money there will be more of them and they will get more aggressive.

The biggest mistake I have made in the zona is giving ANYTHING to anybody. I find you can't give just once and they expect it every time. That same smiley face can be a big fuck you the next time around. Now if you give then all of a sudden stop that is even worse than not giving at all.

The best line I've heard is from another fellow monger I know. You just say I don't give money out. Simple yet very effective. In that case you may want to throw someone a taco now and then. Yet again those are getting more expensive. The zona is a tough place to stay above water. Bob and weave!

as a general rule, i won't talk to the guys, nor will i give out money. there are exceptions, and if you do give money, do it as a local would.

i won't fork over money to beggars or the little urchins. there is some toothless meth addict chica who walks around begging in english. everybody's seen her. if she comes up to me i will usually give her some money. but, i reach into my pocket and give her a few peso coins. this is the local way. you don't want to peel off a couple of bills from your roll. i learned this the hard way in cambodia years back lol.

i'm happy to toss a couple of tacos to some of the vagrants, from time to time. use your best judgment. with experience you can be a bit generous without being a sucker.

I'm Mexican American and even I get approached by these guys. I handle it 1 of 3 ways. #1 I tell them to fuck of. I literally say fuck off. #2 I literally pretend that they are not there. I ignore the shit out if them. Sometimes I have to use #2 then #1. #3. They try to talk to me in English and I tell them in Spanish I don't speak English and that I'm from Tijuana. They have asked what part if Tijuana. Which barrio? I tell them in Spanish what do you care. #3 usually works the best. They are surprised and walk away ASAP. They want the American with the dollars not the Mexican with pesos. I am at times more aggressive by nature and I can handle myself so I'm confident when I tell them to fuck off

But there are guys like Fresh who are intimidated for whatever reason (language barrier, not their home turf, their nature, fear of what may happen if they don't comply) and they can sniff that out and use it to their advantage. I'm Black American and have never had the feeling anywhere in the world that something bad may happen to me; well, besides a USA Courtroom.

There was no language barrier as he speaks perfect English and I am fluent in Spanish. I do realize that my mistake was taking that extra second to talk to him. I can assure you, next time I go I will be on my game guarding against that.

Someone asked to describe him. Best I could describe him, is he is heavyset, maybe about five foot nine? Maybe late thirties early forties, speaks great English. He mentioned he lived in Chicago for a few years and was deported while living somewhere in California. His name is Jose.

...Lesson learned. They have so many games that unless you live in the country it is hard to keep up. Sometimes it is a new game while most of the time it is a spin on the same old game. From the sound of it the guy has pulled this stunt more times than you have in avoiding these type of situations.
Outside of your inured pride, you only lost a couple of bucks and some time. I've heard of people who were cheated out of more money and have been in much more dangerous situations. You handled it well considering the circumstances.

I always say, whenever I have been in these type of situations, that they can catch me once but never twice.

The good thing is that you are able to tell the story, warts and all, so that others on the board can learn and not fall into the same trap.

Fresh23,

I'll echo HorseTrader's gratitude, and say thanks for the really interesting insider view. It's enormous help to us Tijuana virgins.

Did your baddie Jose take you to an SG hotel to see the chica or to some other kind of place? Also when you walked through the door, were there other people around or just you and Jose?

On a related topic, why are the muggers in Tijuana so much kinder and gentler than the muggers in Missouri and Illinois? I've never read in a Missouri or Illinois newspaper that a mugger used a chokehold (sleeper hold) to rob someone. Instead the muggers here often use a hard punch to the nose or jaw to incapacitate their victim (resulting in a broken nose, fractured jaw, or some other long-lasting injury). A mugging here often involves moderate to severe bodily injury, not a few seconds in sleepy Zee Zee dreamland like in Tijuana. I guess the muggers in Tijuana must be humanists. Haha.

op was in very little danger of getting rolled. all of the hotels in the zona are well known. op would certainly not be dumb enough to leave the zona and walk, blindly, into some strange place with an unknown guy just to get a girl.

the zona is full of deportees, as is tijuana in general. most are waiting tables, acting as door touts, working in the bathrooms. most are relatively harmless and just trying to scrape by. in general, the worst thing that can happen is you get "taken" for a few dollars. $20 was a very reasonable price to pay for the knowledge obtained. to put a positive spin on it, op may have been fleeced out of $20, but, in the end, he gets to go home. jose may be $20 richer, but he still has to live in the shithole of the zona.

these guys rarely have anything you need. ignore them, don't get involved, and you'll be fine.

Been crossing here with a buddy every time we do a over night stay. Lately, my negotiation skills has been getting better with the taxi drivers. I always cross over to the entrance to the US side once I get inside Tijuana and head over to the taxi guy there. I negotiated $100 pesos from there to the zone which came up to a little over $7. 50. As I left the zone, I walk away from there for a few blocks and negotiated again for return of $100 pesos. Well worth the cost. As I got to the line, I walk directly to the Ready / Sentri lane. No wait. Walked right through. At the same time, the wait was 30 minutes compared to SY. I checked on my phone.

I frequent Tijuana and walk around the zone a lot and never walked in there until last night to place a bet on the fight. It was very cool and they have liquor and beer. Can't remember who recommended this place but it was a good idea. Very relaxing. I caught up with the sports and had a beer before heading back to see the SG and the bars. Thanks.

In mid-August I spent about 2 weeks working in San Diego and was able to make 6 or 7 trips to Zona Norte. This report is late, but some may find some useful information.

Street Tacos. I love street tacos, especially the 2nd taco cart north of the alley on Constitution. The posted price was $1. 25 and I had only US currancy. I asked the vendor if he had US change and he said he did. I bought 2 tacos and paid when I was served using a $5. 00 bill. The cart got busy for a few minutes while I ate so I didn't immediatly ask for change. When the vendor wasn't busy I asked for my change. The SOB said he already gave me my change. We argued briefly and then I gave up. I'm sure this happens all the time, but that has never happened to me. I've probably bought tacos at that stand more than 30 times, but I'm done with them; there are plenty of others.

La Carreta. One of the girls in front of that bar was sexy and she coaxed me into the bar and to buy her a bucket (2 small for her, 2 large for me). As soon as I paid ($18?) She gulped down the first beer and then she said she had to dance. After her dance she gulped down the second beer, said thank you, and left. I would guess she spent less than 5 minutes at the table with me. I finished my first beer, had the waiter open the 2nd, and then I left. What a waste, I won't be back in there for a long time.

"Street Girl" Amy at La Gloria. It doesn't happen often, but I was in the mood for a street girl. The one that caught my eye was standing just outside of the North entrance to La Gloria. Her English wasn't bad and we seemed to get along well during about 2 minutes of chatting on the street. She asked if I wanted to go upstairs and I agreed. On the way up, I said "$20 sin ropa?" and she said "No, $100". Holy shit, that's a lot of money for a street girl! I said no thanks and turned around. Later I saw her working inside La Gloria, so I guess she wasn't a street girl at all. Still, $100 seemed far too expensive. But for some reason, she looked sexy to me.

Hong Kong Disappointment. Long time favorite had been Erika (supposedly her real name is Paloma). She is older, perhaps 28, and speaks OK English. In past trips I've enjoyed talking to her and taking her to the room. This trip I could see that she is a seasoned and hardened pro. No more chit chat except "You and me arriba, let's go. " Over the last couple of years I've taken her upstairs 4 or 5 times, each time was nice. Now she has become totally mechanical and is no longer worth the money. Maybe others will do better with her.

Hong Kong Favorites. There were several starting with Zuoyma, who generally hangs near the ramp in the middle of the bar. Thin girl with large natural tits. Lots of play in the bar, even better arriba. Highly recommended to all. Next was Sonia, who was very nice and a good performer. Another was Sorey, a small spinner with long straight hair and a very pretty face. Sorey said she would be in HK until the end of August and then spend 2 weeks in Mexico City before returning. She should be back to HK about now and she is well worth your time.

Hong Kong's Mad Venezuelan Squirter. Much has been written about her, if you haven't seen it take a look at my mid-May post and Tomjackin's subsequent wet mattress picture. I was chatting with a group of men when Ms Venezuela approched one in our group. He refused her advances, but later he bought her a drink after I told of her wild history. About 10 minutes later they wet upstairs and didn't return for more than an hour. His verbal report was just like my written report from mid-May and he showed a cell picture that was almost identical to the one Tomjackin posted in May. This girl seems to be consistent: aggressive, wild in bed, and a major squirter. I don't think I'll ever repeat with her, but every monger should experience her at least one time.

Tropical - My first visit was great with many hotties available. Picked a young, pretty girl named Dolce. Very nice time in the hotel. During subsequent visits they mostly had older, heavier girls that didn't appeal to me.

Adelita versus Hong Kong. I historically have preferred Hong Kong because the girls look hotter to me. The Adelita girls seem older but as a whole they seem to be better performers in the hotel room. Hong Kong girls typically ask $60 to $80 and sometimes up to $120 (at least before about 10 pm) but can be talked down by $10 to $20. The Adelita girls typically ask $60 and can be talked down by $10 to $15. The two hotels are similar, except the Adelita hotel only gives a single towel while the Hong Kong hotel gives 2 towels. Because of the better average performance at Adelita, I think I'll spend more time there in the future.

Favorite Food - Without a doubt, I prefer Viejo Lobo. Directly north across the street from LC. It's just a hole in the wall with 2 guys cooking and 3 stools for customers. I usually order steak, baked potato, veggies, and salad. No sign on the building, it's very easy to miss even if you are looking right at it from across the street. Can't stay away from that place.

I'll be returning to Tijuana in a couple of weeks, hope to see some of you there.

I crossed the border for a dental appointment in an upscale neighborhood. The reason is that I will save roughly $4,500 in out of pocket expense. One thing about American insurance, they mostly cover the non-essentials such as cleaning, but leave it up to you to pay for half of the important procedures.

At about 2 pm I arrive at Hong Kong. It was not yet crowed. Entertainment includes the infamous whip cream show, which is getting raunchier than before, approaching the level of disgusting which is why I only stuck my hand up their pussies twice. I too have my standard. Thank goodness the dancing is first class and would rival any American dancing establishments. Stayed there for about 3 hours until my stash of $20 groping money ran out.

I took a couple of walks around the block visiting fine establishments such as the Valentina Bar in the back alley, and La Glorita just around the corner from Adelitas. I would have given them a chance had they air conditioning. Because they did not and it was in the 90's, I did not. Adelitas was ok. Had a lot of MILFs. Not my cup of tea. That was fine since it was chow time.

Generally when I visit a foreign country, I eat what the natives eat. For some stupid reason, I went to the Chinese restaurant right down the street from Hong Kong. I ordered a noodle soup considering that it is almost impossible to screw it up. Wrong, they brought a bow of "Top Ramen" soup with added pork and vegetables. I've eaten enough of Top Ramen in college to smell it 100 yards away. From now on, I will stick with Mexican food while in Mexico. It was not worth the 70 pesos.

I finally got to Tropical at 7:30 pm. The place was getting lively. Enough gals were coming in for the average picky Joe to take a pick. I ran into a girl that I was with last week, and again we hit it off. Even though we went Arriba last week, she would not let my hands wander which was making me even hornier. Bought her a couple of drinks, we talk for the longest time which was interesting since neither of us spoke the other's language. At 10 ish, we decided to go up for an hour. I was in so much bliss, I didn't even discuss price. Since the hotel above the Tropical watch the clock religiously, I decided to take her to hotel on top of the Hong Kong Club as recommended by distinguished members. But before hand, we stopped at the HK itself where I purchased the VIP card for $50, valid for 4 months. What was interesting was that my girl could not even step in the doors of HK without some sort of HK I'd card even if both bars are owned by the same owner. Very rude policies. I came very close at having it out with the doorman.

What I was interested in was the 20% discount and extra time provided to VIP card members. Got in the room at 10:10 pm. Finished at 11:45. So it appears that you get time and a half or so. You also get the 3rd floor rooms where the rooms were less frequent. I suggest you memorize the room number if you like a room so that you can request the same one on your next visit. After I walked my girl back to Tropical, I went back to HK for my free VIP drink. Probably was not worth it since it was a sausage fest where the ratio of guys to girls seems 2:1 and it was impossible to walk or breath. At midnight, this Cinderella decided to go home.

Paid 50 pesos for the cab ride to the border. Just like the prior weeks, there was no wait for general Passport holders like mine. I gave my girl 1000 pesos + roses + 4 drinks + special request music + cigarettes. Yeah it was a lot. But fuck it. The memories of our time together is priceless. She was worth more than I paid. She'll be what I think about the day I die, not what I spent. Yeah guys, I am a hopeless romantic. Hell I would have bought the stupid zebra donkey parked in front of HK for her had she wanted it.

Summary -.

Hong Kong after 5 pm on a Saturday sucks.

The Chinese restaurant on the corner sucks.

Dentistry in Tijuana is about 1/2 the cost of American dentistry. I.

The VIP card is a deal just based on the extra time.

People here like being paid in Pesos.

I crossed the border for a dental appointment in an upscale neighborhood. The reason is that I will save roughly $4,500 in out of pocket expense. One thing about American insurance, they mostly cover the non-essentials such as cleaning, but leave it up to you to pay for half of the important procedures.Which dentist did you go to and what's the upscale neighborhood? Not familiar with Tijuana dentist, but would like to know for future reference.

Thanks

This is a great place to unwind a little. They have a/c which is a major plus. I always go here first while in the zona since I usually arrive early and have to wait around till noon or 1:00 pm to check into my hotel. I'm surprised a veteran like you hadn't been here before

Thanks..

I'll be returning to Tijuana in a couple of weeks, hope to see some of you there.Wow. Did they ask you to pay upon being served or did you volunteer? I've been eating street tacos in various parts of Mexico since the '80's. I've never been asked to pay on delivery. As with the girls, you never pay until you're finished. And these guys are sharp. They know exactly how many you eat. If their policy is to ask for payment on delivery, definitely nobody should patronize them.

$18 sounds about right - 2 x $7 (two ficha beers) and one 2 x1 beer (about $3. 50). I don't think I've ever spent any time inside La Carreta. After your post, I think I won't.

.When I do over nights my usual route is to stay off zone. I like to see what the city has to offer and this weekend I did the same. If I do a turnaround, I'm too busy thinking of the chicas and getting between those legs and just do my routine. Since this was fight night and I wanted to put a bet down, I wanted something in the zone and I remember seeing this place and never considered it until now. Yeah, you learn something new everytime. I've been so in the habit of doing the same routine it just never occurred to me. Once I get a routine, I normally don't deviate but this weekend was an eye opener. It kind of revitalized my enthusiasm since I came back from Medellin. Lots of diamonds in the rough almost like treasure hunting and finding good prospects as well.

Shit you and your friend taught me so much I think caliente across from LC is the only thing I could of showed you. But I thought you already knew about it. I guess you would have to be a gambling addict like myself to really find out about this place. I always go there to check on my bets and relax since they have AC. The other place I go to recoup is cascadas balcony. I can buy a beer and get some food and eat upstairs in the balcony while watching all the action in the zona. I usually go to these places when I stay away from the zona. This way I don't gave to leave the zona and re energize myself for some more action. If you're in TJ for next months tequila festival PM me your number. I had to reboot my phone a week ago and lost all contacts. I actually have a new spot maybe you haven't really been too. You might be into it

seriously, dude, give the mugging thing a rest. op's post is very valuable as an object lesson to noobs not to get involved with street touts. but don't make more of it than there is.

op was in very little danger of getting rolled. all of the hotels in the zona are well known. op would certainly not be dumb enough to leave the zona and walk, blindly, into some strange place with an unknown guy just to get a girl.

the zona is full of deportees, as is tijuana in general. most are waiting tables, acting as door touts, working in the bathrooms. most are relatively harmless and just trying to scrape by. in general, the worst thing that can happen is you get "taken" for a few dollars. $20 was a very reasonable price to pay for the knowledge obtained. to put a positive spin on it, op may have been fleeced out of $20, but, in the end, he gets to go home. jose may be $20 richer, but he still has to live in the shithole of the zona.

these guys rarely have anything you need. ignore them, don't get involved, and you'll be fine.i'm sorry if i caused a misunderstanding and an argument. when i said i was just glad i wasn't mugged or worse, what i meant was i was glad i lost money there with him, rather than walked a little too far and bam. yeah he brought the girl to my hotel and she walked on up ahead of me and i stayed a few seconds talking to the tout. downstairs it was just me jose and the cheering taxistas. don't worry about getting hurt, just pay attention and you'll be fine.

as far as tacos go, try the cart that is on the corner next to rizo de oro. the bistek ranchero is the best i have had in a long time.

Personally, I enjoyed your contribution. I much prefer "warts and all" postings, as they represent "real life" when dealing with the denizens of La Zona.

I think there have been past posts about this subject, but I can't find them now and don't remember the outcome. Do any of you ask to see a girls health card?

There have been a couple of times where the girl would show me some sort of license and something else. I really din't know what I was looking at. Somewhere I read that the older health cards were small books with stamps and initials that showed dates when various health exams were passed. I've also read somewhere that the new cards are only electronically readable.

I don't think they were looking for an HK I'd just any kind of I'd, and it seems to have nothing to do with age. While most bars don't seem to care, it seems that LC and HK are very strict on not letting a lady without an I'd enter the bar. I tried to bring a 40 something lady into LC on Thursday and it was no I'd no entry. It has to do with some law where a lady in the bar with no I'd and the bar can end up paying a big fine if there is a raid or the Policia were to check.

Great report Jackie888 thanks for contributing.

I bought 2 tacos and paid when I was served using a $5. 00 bill.

I'll be returning to Tijuana in a couple of weeks, hope to see some of you there.Elena the Caracas squirter is a must do! At least once! Wild girl. A little chunky. Loves to DFK! Extra towels on the bed A MUST!

Fresh23,

Thanks for the great, level-headed info. It's much appreciated. Hey I just saw on NBC Nightly News that the best time and day of the week to buy airline tickets is on Tuesdays at 3 PM, which is when airlines have cut prices and their competitors have matched them on as many as 20,000 flights a day. The cheapest days to travel are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday since there are fewer business travelers then.

Avoid buying a ticket within 7 days of departure when business travelers will pay top dollar. Buying 7 weeks before departure might save you big, big bucks. Even buying 2 or 3 weeks in advance will save you some bucks. Sunday is the most expensive day to fly since seats are often full with vacationers flying home. NBC even gave some price examples of a coast-to-coast round-trip flight between 2 specific cities:

The cost was $1149 if tickets were bought within 7 days;

$877 if bought two weeks before;

$742 if bought 3 weeks before;

And $465 if bought seven weeks before (a $700 savings).

Hope this saves you fellas some big bucks when flying to San Diego for Tijuana titillation. The source is impeccable. September 15th edition of NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.

Even though southwest isn't the greatest airline you can cancel a reservation the day of travel in case something comes up. When prices are between $49-$69 I usually buy multiple weekend trip tickets 2 months out for several trips and cancel if I have something come up or I just don't feel like going. I can use the funds I canceled before to schedule a new trip within a years time from the cancelation date. I love southwest except when they delay my plane ride home and I leave Tijuana early. I I think if the extra sessions I missed out on while being delayed at the airport

That's a great question I wondered about too. NBC News never mentioned the time zone, so I'll assume it's Eastern Time since I guess their main news offices are in New York. You can probably watch a rebroadcast of the September 15th nightly news at NBC's web site to double-check, but I don't think a time zone was mentioned. Maybe NBC needs better editors. Heh.

The airfares which you listed are correct. The question is whether you can get GFE service in Tijuana. If you can not get GFE service you still waste more than 400 bucks. If you think of GFE as cuddling, sweet talk, DFK, CBJ, and CFS then the answer is "yes". You can get it from various escort services. If you find a girl at HK or Adelita and your personalities click, then you can get it there too. I've never gotten anything close to GFE from a street girl (they have been nice but very mechanical for me).

If you think of GFE as BBBJ, you will get it from many escorts and a few bar girls. I don't know about street girls.

If you think of GFE as BBFS, I expect it happens from time to time but I don't have any personal experience. I've twice had condoms break and in neither case did the girl panic or even seem upset; makes me think those girls didn't think it was a big deal.

If you think of GFE as spending several hours together, that too is available in Tijuana. You need to negotiate it up front.

Please advise.Like GSRR wrote, you will have more success after time/repeats/money. But I think what you are asking about is GFE during your first trip to the room. That is the way I work and I've had some success at HK and AB.

*** DFK. Some yes, some no. Ask her while you are still in the bar. Sometimes you will get DFK in the room but not in the bar.

*** BBBJ. No for most AB and HK girls. CBJ is typical.

*** CFS. Yes, this is standard.

*** MPOS. Yes, this is standard.

*** MSOG. Not likely. A normal session is 20 to 45 minutes, though I've had them last almost 2 hours when personalities click. I'm old enough that I usually can't do a second pop that quickly. Standard for these girls is to clean up and get out of the room as soon as you finished your first pop. That being said, there have been a couple of times where she allowed me to attempt MSOG.

The BBBJ and CIM is out of question in HK or AB. Are there any other places in Tijuana where the mongers can get CIM?

A SG / paradita are MUCH more CONSERVATIVE! I am not saying it can not happen, but more unlikely, until you get to know them. Of course if you dangle some SERIOUS cash in front of them -many will cave in if the rent is due and their children are hungry! That should make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

I think it was $20 standard, $30 with BBBJ, or $50 with BBFS. If she is offering it to me, she is doing it with anybody that can come up with $50. She looked good but I have no idea what viruses and bacteria were in her system. I passed. She was on the East side of Constitution, about half way up the hill.

Many of the streetwalkers look like serious junkies. I have no experience with them.

ADL- 1 min.

General 2 hrs.

Ready 40 minutes.

Sentri 3 minutes.

Tijuana SW pussy has a best steady value since 2007 starting at 200 pesos.

HK BG pussy in a flux as a marketing plan, AD pussy has been steady too with older than HK pussy. Across the street at Tropical at $50. Valantino and others depend on the provider.

Valantina and others depend on the provider.I thought La Valentina was not a Brothel Bar but a dance bar, with very little pay-for-play going on, even though some HK and AB bar girls might visit La Valentina during their off-hours. Anyone know how much pay-for-play goes on in La Valentina? If there is much pay-for-play there, is it mostly with HK and AB bar girls who are off-duty or is it with regular gals who don't work at HK / AB but who are just looking to make a few extra pesos?

While they do have a dance floor that the patrons can use it is also used for floor shows. There are usually 10 to 20 girls working there. The price they want to go to the room is usually 60 but with a bit of negotiating you can get to 40 or 50. In the wee hours the place gets pretty busy with off duty BG's and people who work in the near by clubs. Also a good place to drink without spending a lot, 2 beers for around $3. 50.

The reason I thought it was a dance bar comes from this guide to the Zona:

www.sandiegored.com/noticias/40743/Tony-Tee-s-How-to-guide-of-La-Zona-Norte-in-Tijuana/

Towards the bottom of the page, the guide writes:

"I love la Zona Norte but my favorite thing to do there is dance and drink the morning away at a Tijuana institution of partying, Las Valentinas. Nestled away in the Callejon Coahuila is a magical place full of very different people and incredible dancing, Las Valentinas is not a strip club, you will see no strippers on a pole here. What you will see is the number one choice for Zona workers (yes that includes strippers and prostitutes) patrons and randomness galore for having a drink after work. The place is amazing; I have given the dj a 20 dollar bill at times so he could play shine bright like a diamond three times in a row. The later you get here the more fun it will be. I have left the bar at 7 am and there is still 100 people dancing in there. Anything goes and the only word I can fully describe Las Valentinas is magic. This is my favorite place in La Zona Norte. "

Quite a ringing endorsement for La Valentina. But that's why I thought it was strictly a dance bar. Nice to hear it has BGs too.

Just saying. For the frequent flyers even weekend warriors if they can slip down mid week you can get them for as low as 400 pesos (current $31. Us) but of course you have to get to know them, take them up a time or 2. Price falls off as confianza builds.

NEVER pay extra for "extras". Extras are always on the table but you need to exercise a tad bit of "game" and patience to get them.

Trust me they are MUCH sweeter when "gratis" than paying extra.

Understood, this won't work if you are just there once a month or less.

Crossing back after doing my 1st CL chica independent.

Noticed a guy walking fast, past me in the building as we proceeded to the USA. He was 75 or 80 years old if a day. He went to the handicapped lane / line due to having a cane. LOL.

This guy, I kid you not must run marathons no sweat based on his calves and other leg muscle definition. Amazing!! Years ago it was the rent a bike scam. Now it is walk with a cane. After all you have a trick knee that could go out at any moment, right? Even though guys much younger than you can't keep up with you in the building. LOL.

Not advocating this but. Don't like to see anyone suffer for hours in line so use the info based on your own morals, pride, or whatever.

She was super hygienic. Didn't want to take her shoes off at first. Didn't want to walk on the ground between the bed and the shower. Wouldn't let me kiss her at first. But she then started kissing me in the middle of the session. She just wanted a baby from me. Strange but flattering.

Valentina's is okay. Lots of HK and AB girls go there to drink after their shift. But the DJ sucks. He'll play lame, slow banda music a lot and it drives a lot of girls out. Beers are cheap, I think 20 mn each. But there are putas that work there trying to hustle a $8 dls ficha. It does get packed late on weekends. But La Malquerida is much better. It's an upgraded version of Valentina with better music. Scenery is a bit more cosmopolitan. Beers cost more $25 mn. But it's worth it. Most nights they have live bands. I've left at 9-10 am on weekends before and it's still pretty packed.

I'll be damned if I wait for three hours some slimy bastard is not going to get away with it. And yes the CBP will react and send the bum to the END of the line!

Last night, I went cross the border for some panocha. I have been going to Tijuana for 25 years, and for years have been parking at the dumpy motel next to the JITB. Now, I haven't gone on a weekend night for a long time, but usually was accustomed to paying like $7 on a busy night, $4 during weekdays. I get there at 10 pm, and the guy says $20, I am like fuck that shit, I will park at the lot across the freeway. So I park over there and found out why. The new pedestrian way over totally sucks. Before, it didn't matter what side you parked on, now it does. It is a very long walk now.

Parking an older car at Blue line trolley station would save the $20 but not the same security level as the parking lot.

"Discovered" a taco stand that puts everything in the Zona to shame. It's a one trick pony, but, as Paul Simon said, it turns that trick with pride.

If you like birria de res, this place rocks. A ton of flavorful, slow-cooked until falling apart, juicy beef. Enough that the tortilla can barely hold all of it. Crowds of locals lining up for them, no gringos in sight.

I was only able to snarf down two. I wanted another, but just couldn't eat any more. 15 pesos each. Worth every centavo.

SW corner of 4th and Ninos Heroes. Daytime for sure, not sure how late they're open, but probably not after dark.

Hey gang,

I was reading about the border crossing times. Has anyone tried Greyhound from Tijuana to San Diego? Is the bus station area safe to go in and out of and how far from the HK is the bus station as far as cab cost.

Thanks to the veterans for all of the information. I am going to be there November 2, 4 and 5. Anyone interested in a beer or two and some hunting?

I believe the station is near the arch, and Art 123 (Primera)/ Two blocks from HK. But you will probably have to wait in the bus lane for a few hours. And the bus will let you off at the border gate and you will get out of the immigration crossing building at the greyhound pick-up: to the bus to 12th and Imperial Greyhound station. You may save some time waiting in the bus as opposed to waiting in line to cross, but the price will be (I think) much higher than a $5 taxi ride to the border and a $2. 50 trolley ride to 12th & Imperial Greyhound station.

Fellow mongers,

Let me start by offering my sincere thanks and appreciation to you guys who frequent and report on this board! Your reports are chock full of detailed info, which rivals any of the other online communities. After substantial research, which is ongoing, I'm pulling the trigger on a trip next week! Little bit about me, I'm a typical American staring down the barrel of 40 years old looking to have some fun. Relatively well travelled, I'm a veteran USA Hobbyist who knows understands the game and plays it well. I've mongered internationally (few spots in Canada, Europe, and South America), but it'll be my first time mongering in Mexico. I interact with people from different cultures on a regular basis, but only speak English, which I'm trying to change. My grasp of Spanish is very unreliable, and I can't get much past greeting people, and ordering food. I'm not afraid of trying to communicate in Spanish, and I enjoy doing so. I'm a responsible drinker who knows his limits and doesn't get much past that sweet spot twilight spot between buzzed and intoxicated. All this to say (1) I'm not a noob to the game, just the locale (2) I'm relatively well travelled, and know how to carry myself (3) I'm not an idiot or troublemaker.

My chica preferences are physically varied (I like slim, toned, thick, big boobs, small boobs, etc.) but always seek my version of GFE (passionate, DFK, caressing, and 69). I also like the occasional PSE, but don't get too crazy (if I can get in that ano, great, but not a deal breaker if not).

Plans are as follows:

1. Paid membership to ISG. (Complete).

2. Flights set to arrive at SAN on Thursday 10/16 around 1:00 pm, and leave Sunday 10/19 around 8:30 AM. (Complete).

3. Take the trolley and bus to the border.

4. Cross over and taxi to HK.

5. Here's where I'm up in the air. I want to stay in the Zona, but not sure if I want to go with staying above the HK or AB. My goal is to go arriba around 4 times a day for the 3 days I'm there. As I understand it, I can't pull an AB chica and take her to my room above HK and visa versa? Any opinions would be appreciated.

6. Looking to spend most my time in HK, AB, and TB. I'm especially looking forward to bar interaction time feeling up chicas. I'm a strip club guy from way back, and really enjoy the concept of feeling up multiple chicas for a buck tip. I'm still undecided about the SGs, but will likely try it at least once while I'm there.

7. Find one of or a group of you vets down there to hang with if you'll have me. I don't have any friends who are hobbyists, so meeting and bonding with you guys is something I value. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you're up for hanging out while I'm there (10/16 through 10/19).

I'm still RTFF, so this is mostly just to say thank you for all the info, and I'll be the Zona end of next week! Thanks again, guys! I'll be reporting on my experiences, and remember to let me know if any of you guys want to band together.

Thanks again, amigos!

Dante.

I would recommend staying at HK hotel cascadas. This weekend you will be going will be tequila festival. For around $6 dollars you will get to taste over 25 tequilas. What a deal. You picked a great weekend to go.Wow, that is great timing! I must be living right or something. Gorgeous women AND a tequila tasting! Thanks for the heads up, IMB.

Got me a room at the Ticuan because I knew I would be going to the tequila expo and driving home would not be an option. Because I'm pretty damn lazy and I like to dodge the Tijuana finest Keystone clowns, I took a cab to HK. While driving on Constitucion, I saw two police trucks loaded with males. One truck was around 6th and the other was around 4th Ave. After a short stop in HK, I headed to my favorite taco stand. While enjoying my taco, another police truck stopped at the corner and was searching two more males. They were loaded in an already full truck! I finished my taco, but did not leave the stand until the truck left; did not feel like joining the truck party!

Spent a few hours in HK; the new girls just keep coming. The meseros carrying the cheese plates, chips, and cameras no longer exist; this is a good thing. I met a few new girls and spend some time with a couple of girls that have been there forever and a day. There was one new girl that was quite friendly and I really liked her, but I already made a date with one of my favorite street girls. So I said goodbye, went to the alley, picked up my girl, and then headed to the hotel!

Later, I went to the Tequila Festival with my best running mate Artistyp. Got in the place around 8 and there was a good size crowd. For the entry fee of 6 bucks, it was a great deal. There were a lot of booths and they all offered free samples, small, but tasty samples. I did my old sailor try to get a sample from all the booths, but a came up short by 3-4 booths.

The highlight tequila was the Tekys Ladies. So damn smooth and tasty. I figured if I could only bring back one bottle, I had to have that special bottle! Yes, it came with a hefty price, but what the hell. Life is too short to drink crap. Artistyp is shown modeling this great bottle. You might also want to notice that HE is sporting his "I have everything but the kitchen sink" carry on pack.

At one point, the old sailor threw in the towel! Oh the fucking shame!:(

Arrived in the zona around 2 pm, and walked back to the border. The back of the ready line was all the way to where the taxis meet the freeway ramp. I entered the line at 4:50 pm, and it took exactly and hour and a half to reach the gates. Even the general line wasn't this long, but the ready line did pass up those people. Once inside the customs building, about a 10 minute wait. As usual, saw at least two people taken away in handcuffs.

One thing I never experienced before, was that there were 3 CBP agents and a dog checking everyone walking IN to Mexico, about 50 feet from the border turnstyles. Everyone's heard of people smuggling drugs from MX to USA, but never the other way around. Maybe smelling for guns (Gunpowder in ammo) ? Later when I walked back to the US, after the agent checked your passport, everyone leaving the desks had to walk around a roped area and get funnelled past an agent with a dog.

My plane reservation was scheduled in May for this event. This is my favorite Tijuana event. I like the beer festival but I'm more of a tequila drinker. It brings in lots of people. I hooked up with a girl from Sd at the festival last year on the last day of the festival. She moved to LA 6 months later but I niw have some LA pussy because if the festival.

I will be prepared next year for a possible date change. I'm not missing it next year.

I was told they are looking for large amounts of cash leaving the country. You can't take more than $10,000. 00 out without declaring it. So my question is everyone is carrying cash, what the hell are the dogs trained for? Smelling only LARGE amounts of cash. I didn't have to worry though I was only carrying the usual $30 in ones $50 in fives and $100 in tens.

i had the surprise of my life yesterday. well, maybe one of the top 10.

for the salma fans here, she seemed to fall off the face of the earth a little over two years ago. maybe somebody has been able to make contact with her since then, but i've spoken to people who said the same. i figured she had made it to the usa to stay with her sister, or that she was dead.

i was standing next to the church, with rocky the flying squirrel and daughter in tow. they were doing something else and i was checking my phone for e-mail. suddenly a hand appeared over my eyes and somebody said "guess who?

i turned around and just about fell over. for one of the few times in my life i was completely speechless. there was salma, standing there and smiling. my entire (limited) spanish vocabulary vanished. i could barely speak english. not that it mattered, i couldn't get a word in. i kept stammering novia, amiga, and looking shocked.

she had lost a lot of weight, which does make her look good. however, she has the beginnings of sunken cheeks and a somewhat gaunt look about her. she was dressed in a mish-mash of different clothes, and had the overall look of somebody who had been living on the street. drugs? maybe. i think her bipolar had kicked into high gear due to her much faster than normal (her normal, which is twice anybody else) speech patterns.

she had been in a car accident fairly recently, like in the past few months. i think she was crossing the street when a car hit her. i really couldn't understand much about it. she still had some minor bruising, but appears to have recovered.

she no longer works in la malquerida (duh!) and doesn't appear to have any form of employment. i asked about her kids and she seemed to indicate that they were still with her, but everything was vague and rapid.

i gave her my phone number, as she had lost most of her numbers at some point. then rocky came over and wondered what was going on. i tried to introduce them, but nobody could get a word in. salma looked embarrassed and, after a quick peck on the cheek, beat a hasty retreat.

needless to say, rocky was not amused. i got the 3rd degree for the rest of the afternoon. i tried to explain about being speechless and i thought she was dead. rocky just said "no mucho falto. " dayum! catty!

the upshot of all of this is that it looks like she could really use some help. i'm not into captain save-a-ho stuff, really. but anybody who has known her in better times has always liked her. i have to say i truly felt sad to see what seems to have happened to her. if anybody wants to send her a few pesos, please pm me and i'll give you her number.

Instead of giving a day-by-day summary, I've broken it down into topics.

- Getting from San Diego airport to San Ysidro border is cheap and easy. The only city bus that stops at the airport goes to the trolley. Should only cost a few bucks for the entire trip. Unfortunately, my USAir flight was 4 hours late and I just missed the last bus. So I had to pay $70 for a taxi. They'll tell you $50 at the taxi stand, but it came to $64 and I gave $6 tip.

- Marriott hotel was great. First, in my experience, it was girl friendly with no charges. Second, if you are Gold or Platinum, you get access to a lounge with free breakfast and free happy hour. My room was nice and quiet. Third, book your room, then go to trivago.com and find a lower price. Then fill out the guarantee form at Marriott.com and you will get the lower rate plus an extra 25% off. I paid $75 per night, got free breakfast, and free happy hour (2 drinks and food). The only downside is that it's an $8 taxi to Hong Kong area. One more plus, it's walking distance from Caliente Casino with a sportsbook and poker room.

- Food. TacoNazo (near Costco) and Taco shop (Revolution near Arc) had excellent tacos and service. They don't try to rip you off. I hate the street carts in the zone because they play games with your change.

- Hong Kong. Not my thing. To hot, too crowded, and only a few really attractive. It is a must see experience once or twice, but after that I prefer other places.

- Peanuts and Beer. Perfect for me. I went Fri and Sat nights. There were only 2-3 other groups of guys and 5-6 girls. A few were young and not so good looking. But the older (35 yrs) ones were probably some of the better girls at Hong Kong when they were younger. The mileage I get there is great. You can get a great GFE. It's also easy to hang out with a girl for an hour before going to the room. You just need to buy 1 drink. The waiters will keep asking for more, but just tell them "no way". Trust me, the girl with you won't be leaving.

- Waiter scam. I can see them hiding the dollar now before they take my order. So I give him a $10 on purpose (instead of $20). He switches it to $1 and I tell him NOT to fuck with me and to give me my $20 back. he says he's just kidding around and goes to get my drink. Then he brings my drink and says "please you gave my $10 and not $20 really really". I make a big stink about how he ripped me off. I tell the club to give me a free drink and we're even. So funny, the scammer gets scammed. That's how they will learn.

- I got a hot girl from an escort service. I don't want to give any details because I don't want the girl to be identified. She was so pretty and nice, but during 69, she had a very hairy ass. A big turn-off. I never experienced that before. Also, after sex, there was a reddish brown stain on the sheets. There was nothing on my condom that I could tell. Very strange. I don't think Mexican women have the same level of hygiene as Colombians or other Latinas.

- OMG, never walk across the border at 11:00 am on Monday without Sentri. The line was crazy. I have Global Access, but I couldn't figure out where to go. You just have to walk past all the people waiting until you get to the gates and a US agent will look at your card and open the gate.

It works fine on the street, in restaurants, all along the area by the arch, in upper floors of Cascadas, and in AB. The biggest exception is where I spend most of my time: Hong Kong. I have no idea why it works in AB but not in HK.

Be careful when you use your cell phone in public. I worry about somebody grabbing it and running. Or picking my pocket while I've got my nose in the cell.

I don't think Mexican women have the same level of hygiene as Colombians or other Latinas.I strongly disagree with this statement! I've boned Latinas from Tijuana to Buenos Aires, and all kinds of places in between, and I did not notice that the Mexican girls weren't as clean as other Latinas. In fact, I found all of the girls I was with to be extremely clean with no unpleasant odors, rashes, or leaving stains on the sheets LOL! The only thing that got "stained" was my tongue on their clits! Like I said in my reports, I stuck 100 percent with the club girls, and I would tend to believe that they will be cleaner on average than the street girls. Not that you can't find a clean street girl. I'm just talking about playing the odds. Lucky for me the averages didn't link me up with a chica sporting a hairy culo hahaha!

The HK, AB, TB, and LC girls have also been perfectly clean. I've only sampled a couple of girls from the smaller bars and some could have used more trips to the shower. Street girls have been a mixed bag, some are very clean while others not so much. Of course you would expect imperfect hygiene for anybody who's primary post-sex clean up tool is a roll of toilet paper. I've never sampled any of the wandering street walkers, but some of them look too filthy to consider.

Ok, fellow mongers. I'm sitting at the Praga restaurant as I write this and reflect back on yesterday, last night, and this morning. Suffice to say, the Zona is just as wonderfully dirty and bizarre as you all have indicated. I love it!

Since the step by step into Tijuana has been thoroughly covered, I'll simply say I came from the airport, took the 992 bus to City College, southbound Blue Line trolley to the SY border crossing, and crossed the border into Tijuana with no hassles. Took about an hour and a half in total. Taxi to HK where I picked up my VIP card and checked into the Cascadas. I had booked the master suite online for my stay, but they couldn't find the reservation record and the master suites were all taken. Hmm, I don't buy that, but I pick a jacuzzi room instead for a lower per night fee. $72 with my VIP discount. I pay, insist on getting my receipt, and get settled in the room. I was carrying about $600 on me, and since the room didn't have a safe, I pulled the old money in the shoes trick. I removed the insoles of my shoes, split my cash up between the two, and put them back on.

Out the door and headed to meet ClamSlammer who graciously agreed to show me the ropes. It's about 1:30 pm. We hit Adelitas, Hong Kong, Tropical, the&G, and a few other little bars in an 11 hour session. Serious kudos to ClamSlammer! Suffice to say, many beers were drunk, many chicas were groped and kissed, but I refrained from pulling a girl from any of the bars. Finally, after being up for 25 hours, I went for the first SG in front of HK I found for a standard solo sexo session for $20. I just wanted to bust my Tijuana cherry at that point and get to bed. She was hot, I nutted, paid, kiss-kiss, then I was snoring. Great first day! More reports to come in the appropriate sections.

Lessons learned:

Nothing beats a street taco when you're hungry.

Bring a neck brace to help with the whiplash of looking at chicas.

There is no donkey show anymore.I love the "Ask A Mexican" pieces the LA and OC Weeklies. Last week's was re: this very topic: in sum- never were any.

http://www.ocweekly.com/2014-10-16/columns/ask-a-mexican-donley-shows/

Dear Mexican: I've heard the Tijuana donkey show featuring a female is not real other than the fact they do bring out a donkey and do some simulation for people who are drunk.

Down-Low Loco.

Dear Gabacho: You're right. And after months of research, the Mexican can confirm the full history of donkey shows, the supposed borderlands specialty in which women have sex with donkeys before a live, paying audience. Not only are they not a thing in Tijuana (or Juarez or Acapulco or anywhere in Mexico frequented by tourists), but they're also a wholesale gabacho invention that says more about how America projects its fevered perversions onto Mexicans and Mexico than anything about Mexicans themselves. None of the Tijuana Bibles, the infamous X-rated comics of the Great Depression that showed all sorts of degradation, make any mention of such shows south of the border (the excellent 1997 anthology, Tijuana Bibles: Art and Wit in America's Forbidden Funnies, 1930's-1950's, even points out that the foul funnies got their name not because they were made in Mexico, but "as a gleefully sacrilegious pre-NAFTA slur against Mexicans" The earliest published account I found even mentioning donkey sex shows in Mexico only dates back to 1975, in the book Binding With Briars: Sex and Sin in the Catholic Church. Before that, mentions of "donkey shows" in newspapers, books or magazines were exactly that: donkeys on display at county fairs, nothing else.

But after porn star Linda Lovelace claimed her then-husband was going to force her to get "fucked by a donkey in Juarez, Mexico," in her 1980 memoir, Ordeal, the act quickly seeped into mainstream American culture. Three years later, the search for a donkey show in Tijuana became a plot point in the Tom Cruise film Losin' It; by the mid-1980's, a pioneering ska band called themselves the Donkey Show—based out of San Diego, no less. Really, the biggest culprit in spreading the donkey show myth is Hollywood—in the past decade alone, there's been mention of the act in at least a dozen high-profile projects, from The 40-Year-Old Virgin to Two and a Half Men and more. This proves once again that Hollywood's portrayal of Mexicans and Mexico hasn't changed in a century—but what else do you expect from producers and screenwriters (notwithstanding the awesome writers at the new ABC sitcom Cristela and the upcoming FOX cartoon, Bordertown, for which I'm a consultant) who know Mexicans almost exclusively from previous Hollywood depictions and as their nannies, car washers, gardeners, cooks and the janitors in their offices?

Are there sex shows between humans and animals in Mexico? I'm sure there are, just as there are in the United States—in fact, the earliest account I could find of people paying to see a woman-donkey coupling is in the November 1915 issue of the St. Louis-based medical journal The Urologic and Cutaneous Review, in which a doctor recalled a case in which crowd members at such a spectacle (including "a judge, sons of a social reformer and a secretary of a girl's aid society") were criminally tried after a woman died during the act. But leave it to gabachos to stereotype such debauchery as being as exclusively Mexican as the Aztec pyramids and a corrupt government. Pinche perverted gabachos.

Very dark and dingy in there. Girls are wretched. Extremely high pressure to buy buckets. They literally bother you every 30 seconds to buy a bucket. HK meseros are angels compared to the ones at P&be. On a scale of 1-10 I would rate this place a 0. Complete waste of time. Unless things changed drastically from 2011.

Hey all,

I'm wondering what new year's eve is like down in Tijuana. I'm thinking of heading down there for a few days at that time. Any info appreciated.Went down there for NYE 2014. A distinct lack of working girls, and a lot of competition from guys buying drinks and taking them upstairs. Most of the girls seemed to be on holiday visiting their families, so the ones stuck behind tended to have attitudes.

Not worth a special trip, IMHO.

Not worth a special trip, IMHO.I agree. To me I hate ALL Holiday's in Tijuana. (To me EVERY WEEKND is a Holiday) Of course I am selfish. Too many horny gringos looking for pussy they have not had since the "last" holiday! Many girls are on Vacation, (of course there are good finds in Tijuana ALWAYS! But for a special trip (and crazy EXPENSIVE airfares) you are better off passing. Hong Kong has a "celebration" but it is much more fun to dodge the Midnight gunfire in the streets! Jajaja But if you must you can take a chica up to your room for a midnight kiss. Well if SHE allows kissing. YMMV! Maybe an upsell before you go up! Or find a girl (if you can in a club) buy her a drink and steal a kiss. You can always get laid one way or another. A lot of guys can't say that on NYE. So good luck.

As it turns out we wound up at Cueva de Peludo. After a couple of substantial and delicious chorizo tacos across the street we went inside. We watched a few strippers, the girls had a few beers. I, having to drive, had 2 light beers over the course of about 1. 5 hours, or so.

We left, got into the car, and pulled onto Agua Caliente. We hadn't made it a block before we got lit up by Tijuana's Finest. I use the term loosely. Very loosely.

Rocky says Oh, no. Then tells me "You don't speak Spanish!" No prob, I have the dumb Gringo act down pat.

The first guy, who speaks English, comes over. Greets me. Shakes my hand. Wants to know if I've been drinking. I told him no, I was the designated driver. He asks for license and registration, which I hand over. Since I'm blocking an intersection he asks me to pull into the side street.

As I'm moving, Rocky insists I drink as much of an old bottle of Gatorade as possible, and she starts gulping too.

When I got parked, Officer Fife asks me to get out of the car. He then asks about drinking. I'm not drunk and I have him convinced that I haven't been drinking. Then he pokes his head into the car and starts talking to Rocky. Meanwhile his partner rolls up my registration into a cone and wants me to blow into it. I do a half-assed blow, he then sniffs it. He doesn't speak English, but starts questioning me about open containers in the car. At that point I had to drop the "No Espanol" bit and tell him that there was no open container in the car (which there wasn't).

Office Fife comes back and wants to know why I lied to him. He told me it was very serious to lie to a police officer. He then told me that Rocky had told him I'd been drinking. (Shit. We forgot to sync our stories. Now I didn't know if he was bluffing or not, or exactly what she told him.) So, I told him I'd two light beers over the course of several hours but it was so long ago I figured it didn't count. He insisted that he needed to know all I had to drink and that the amount of time didn't matter. So, I told him that I had a couple of beers yesterday, too, and did that count? (I wasn't drunk, I was being polite, but I wasn't going to take any shit off this clown, either. Unfortunately, I knew once he knew I had a beer he was going to insist on a breathalyzer, or some such).

Then Officer Fife asks who the girls were. I told him my novia and her friend. He then wants her name. I told him and it seemed to satisfy him. Dayum! If most criminals in Tijuana are white, middle-aged guys, in mid-priced sedans, with California plates, why is it so damned hard to catch them? But I digress.

Officer Fife then tells me I need to go over to the Alcoholimitro (or however you spell it), just as I suspected. Been there, done that. But I had a really funny feeling. In the back of my mind I knew I was in the right, but I was in Mexico. Would I get a fair shake? Would the machine read right? Do they have two, one for locals, one for gringos? All of these thoughts zipped around in my head for a couple of seconds. I figured it wasn't worth the risk, at least initially, and I'd try a different tack.

Officer, I haven't done anything wrong. I'm not drunk. We're heading back to the hotel.

Jes, but joo need to go over there and they will check.

Look, we're a bit pressed for time. If there is some sort of fine, perhaps we could take care of it?

What did joo hab in mind?

I don't know, I assume that if there is some kind of fine, maybe we could just take care of it.

Umm, well, joo go ober to them and they will tell you how much of a fine.

Yes, but it would be much quicker and easier if we could just take care of it here.

What does joor girlfriend think about that? (WTF? How did she get into this? Hell, this was practically her idea.).

Oh, she won't say a word.

Joo know, she might talk, or complain to somebody.

No, definitely not. She is fine. She won't say a word.

OK. Pull around the corner there (He motions around the corner onto a dark side street).

I ask for my license and registration back, then I hopped into the car and pulled around the corner where nobody could see us.

I dug into my pocket and started pulling out money. I was going to pull out a 200 peso note. I asked Rocky how much. She said it's up to me but 200 pesos should be OK. I agreed and got out of the car. Officer Fife is sitting in the passenger side with the window down. I walked up, crossed my forearms and rested them on the window sill. Then I dropped the folded bill into his palm and watched as it quickly dropped it into his pocket.

I turned to go and Officer Fife told me to turn around, turn left at the corner and then turn left again. That way I would avoid the Alcohol Metro. Actually, that advice was probably worth 200 pesos alone.

I then got back into my car, did as he suggested, and we were on our way. This whole thing has turned into one big game. I was actually smiling about it, thinking I had another Tijuana story to tell and it only cost me $15.

Bienvenidos a Tijuana.

You got off lucky, so I think. It could have been more of a cluster fuck!Yes, and had I been borracho or belligerent it could have gone sideways very quickly. But that stupid I'm not.

Rocky is pretty good around cops. She has a pretty good grasp of the mordida system, and that helps a lot.

But, really, the only reason I tried this was the cop's attitude and body language. HE wasn't being a hard-ass, despite the lecture about lying to the cops (which I think was bullshit). You could tell HE kinda wanted to come to an "arrangement" but didn't dare broach the subject first. Which is an interesting thing compared to the way cops used to act not so very long ago.

The frustrating part is that I rarely drive at night in Tijuana. Due to this nonsense we take a taxi everywhere if we even think alcohol might be involved. The only two times I've had a drink and then drove I've been nabbed by the fuzz. I'm 2 for 2, and I hope never to repeat.

Why bother driving in Tijuana? A white guy behind the wheel of a USA Car is like a giant all-you-can-eat buffet with a neon sign in front that's flashing "Come and get it, big boy".

Now, alongside "bungee jumping" and "skydiving" I can write "driving in Tijuana" as a thrill-seeking thing white people do.

I'm glad all it cost you was 200 pesos. Next time it might cost you your anal virginity!

I refuse to drive in Mexico. My GF is always trying to get me to drive her car, but I let her do all the driving. I probably look kind of wimpy I think there is the machismo factor, but I don't want any part of it. While she is a really bad driver we have avoided any accidents or tickets so far. She really scares me when she is navigating those traffic circles in Zona Rio. The only problem we ever had was after drinking in Las Pulgas one night, she drove the wrong way down a one way street and was headed straight for a police car. He flipped a U turn and pulled us over. She got out and after talking to them for a little while she came back to the car and asked for 10 dollars, and that was it we were on our way. Something like that could have cost a small fortune, so there are times when dealing with corrupt cops is not such a bad thing.

While we are on the subject of Police and Tijuana traffic. I was watching the news the other day and they were showing a pretty funny Tijuana cop dancing while directing traffic. It looked like the Zona Rio area. Just curious if anyone has spotted him and if he is always in the same place.

First of all if you want to drink go buy a couple of six packs and sit at home with your buddies and watch the football game. Or go to a local bar and try to keep under the limit. Driving in Tijuana, I see it as a mission. Get from the border to the parking lot in the Zona. Never any problem if you drive a few blocks past Revolucion and approach from the west. While you're there, the drinking just fogs you up. You're there for the pussy, not to get wasted. Not having all of your wits about you makes you 10 times more vulnerable to problems of all kinds. Stick with water my friends. They sell it in an aluminum can. The meseros can't see if it's empty or full so just hold onto it while you're sitting there even if it's empty. And when you leave, head out a few blocks to the west before looping onto Second. You will miss the cops that way. If you do get stopped, you haven't been drinking, your car is clean, your pockets are clean, so be polite and just stand your ground. Don't give those fools a single peso. They'll eventually get tired of wasting their time on you, and move off. Then go home and drink a bottle of tequila and have your blackouts if you want. But driving in Mexico is about the same as driving anywhere.

My friends I work with in San Diego (Mexican) NEVER / if they can help it. Drive in Tijuana if they can help it.Well, I also know Mexicans, with whom I work, who refuse to visit relatives in MX due to the drug violence in Tijuana. I know others who swear the saw the Virgin Mary in a stain. So, basing all your decisions on what some local Mexican thinks may not be the best way to do things.

I noted that Officer Fife, after we parted company, drove back to the same area he was lurking in. He was loitering a short way from the La Cueva exit, waiting to nab people coming out and getting in their cars. Unfortunately, I didn't see him. My point is that the club was full of locals, and I think maybe two gringos other than me. He probably wasn't targeting just gringos. As an aside, if one of the members of this August board was the tall ultra-dorky looking guy, with baggy gym shorts, shower shoes, a too-large T-shirt and hair that hadn't seen a comb in about a week, get a fucking life and clean up your fucking act. I've seen winos who dressed better.

I've only been jacked up by the cops, in car or afoot, after dark. In this case I was driving well after I have usually parked for the night, due to extenuating circumstances. I will certainly redouble my efforts to not drive after about 7:00 pm.

La Mordida has become a fact of life since the Spaniards shook down the Indians. It truly sucks, but, if the "bite" is small, it may just be a cost of doing business in Mexico. My time is worth more than the $15 spent avoiding fucking around with these guys any more than I had to. However, being in the right, had Officer Fife demanded some exorbitant amount I would have marched over to the station, blown into that fucking machine and then told the Jefe all about dear Officer Fife and his demand for a bribe. That might have been interesting.

I wouldn't normally drive, and I don't really enjoy driving in Tijuana, but, despite having a lot of taxis it can be rather hard to get around. Try going from your hotel in Centro, to, say, 5 why 10 to pick up a Craigslist date, to a short-time hotel on Via Rapida, then to lunch in the Zona Rio, then back to your hotel. It's doable in a taxi, but not fun. You can take a trip to Mexicali or Ensenada in a taxi, too, but it's going to be a bit pricey. So, these days I find a car a necessary evil, primarily because I don't hunt much in the Zona these days.

THE GOOD:
Found a fairly attractive provider who gave me an hour of excellent GFE service.

THE BAD:
$35 for the cabbie.
$60 for the massage room.
$120 for the girl.

THE UGLY:
Wading through the mass of humanity & traffic on the border, as well as the hour it took to actually find the pedestrian entrance.

With these sky-high prices, I don't really see the advantage of mongering in TJ.

Can you give a few details? What massage place? Where is it located that cost so much to get there?IDK the name of the MP. There were two rooms with a shower, and two rooms w / o one. The manager said the rooms w / o a shower were $50 an hour, and the rooms with a shower were $60 for an hour. He said I would need to negotiate with the girl separately.

The cabbie drove me around for about 2 hours to three different MPs. I gave him a $5 tip.

One MP we went to gave me a price menu book were the prices were listed between $160-250 dlls per hour.

I'm used to paying $30-40 at the MPs in Juarez, so Tijuana gave me quite a sticker-shock.

Ah well, newbies always pay more.

I hope you busted a good nut anyway.

Mermaids across the street for las chavelas in la zona has been a few hits for me.

There was a period of time I used to bang a chick there who reminds me of melanie iglesias (I would reference another asian celebrity but you guys will be like huh?

Room was 35 + 80 for the chick for 1 HR of GFE.

I would not trust the cabbies to take me to any massage parlor.

Did you just get into the cab and ask him to take you to a massage parlor?

You've already figured this out, but Tijuana isn't a good place for massage. Outside of the couple legit ones on Revu, I can only think of two. Mermaids in the Zona and the one across from Ticuan, also called Mermaids I think. I'm sure there are others, as you found out, but they are few and far between.

As they were so difficult to find, they must not cater to the gringo trade. That must mean they are geared to locals. Elite locals. But nobody catering to elite locals could ever be described as "fairly attractive. " At those rates they should make the Tecate Edecanes look like fishwives.

$60 for a room? $160 - $250 for an hour? Those prices are insanely high. After all these years I thought I'd heard all the Tijuana ripoff scams, but I was wrong.

But, at the end of the day you minimized your losses to some degree. Craigslist has a lot of women who want $120 for an hour, although I'm not sure I'd describe them as "fairly attractive. " A nice short-time hotel is between $25 and $50, depending on location, Jacuzzi, etc. So, you lost the amount of the cab and about $30 on the room. Actually, all things considered, a cheap lesson.

Am I screwed? I always have my passport. I'm a US citizen, born in the US not naturalized, and I obviously have a valid passport, just not on me. I have absolutely no one who can bring me my passport or birth certificate, but might be able to have someone fax me scanned copies, I just can'take count on it.

Any feedback or people with similar experiences please reply. I would love to hang out for a few days, but sadly I have work obligations to meet and need to get back to San Diego by tomorrow morning.

I keep a scanned copy on my phone and a copy on the cloud. I don't know if that will do me any good if I ever need it, but I figure it can't hurt.

For your current situation, perhaps just go to the border and give it a try. I'd start by talking to the guard at the SENTRI entrance at the big turnstile. He can at least tell you where to go.

Others have reported that your drivers license is all you need, but I don't know that to be true from personal experience.

Good luck with it and let us know what happens.

Thanks! It depends how you roll and if you drink or buy fichas.

Street Girls can range from $20 -40 depending on your needs Bar Girls $50 - 80 Street Walkers $20. Drinks for girls are around $8. Yours are $4/5. I usually budget $125 a day but get away with much less. I don't buy fichas and I mainly session with SGs or SWs.

No more than $200 IMO for a careful spender.

Thanks!I just get pesos with my ATM card while in Mexico. You're usually better off paying in pesos because the exchange rate with your ATM debit card is usually the best option, especially if you've chosen one of the online banks with a 0% foreign transaction fee.

I just returned on Thursday and spent way more than $200. Paid cash for a nice room at Cascadas $50 to $80 per night, bought some drinks, private dances, and sessioned four times in one day / two nights. Also paid $50 for Hong Kong VIP card which was worth it for me since no knock on the door, discount on room, half off lap dance, first drink free, no hassle admission, etc.

What you spend depends on your interest. I was generous with dollar bills for the girls and service and enjoyed the sights in Hong Kong, bought some drinks for mutual groping, enjoyed the lap dances for $21 each (almost whatever you want and good amount of time), and paid $60 per session with Adelitas and Hong Kong girls. Also had a duo of street girls at $20 each, $40 total. Turned down one who would not come down from $80. A little more for taxi on arrival, some food, drinks.

Great session with Francia and Jarila from Hong Kong and Dulisa (from Adelitas. She's nineteen, mother of an 11 month old, only working a bit over a month.

Also recommend visiting www.hktijuana.com.mx for discount coupons for drink and dance.

Thanks for the info. I will post a trip report after. Since it's my first time, I was wondering if anyone could suggest how much time to allot for getting back across the border Sunday afternoon? Was going to take the trolley back and catch a 6 pm flight.

Many thanks!

Many thanks!Sunday afternoon is about the worst time you can think of to cross back, unless you have a SENTRI card.

If you have a passport card or a Passport with the RFID chip you can use the ready lane. The regular lane will probably be 2. 5 to 3 hours, maybe more. You can shave probably an hour off of that with the Ready Lane, but on a Sunday afternoon, you never know.

The trolley is 45 minutes to America Plaza, plus time to get to the airport. Better get in line around 11:00 am.

Many thanks!Don't even think about coming back Sunday evening.

I did that last week and I had company so did not use my sentri.

The line was a 2 HR wait at least, even at 8:30 pm.

You want to make a 6 pm flight, you better think about coming back by noon, 3 HR wait, another HR to get to airport, sounds horrible.

I crossed the border on Saturday night / Sunday morning about 1 in the morning just prior to the time change taking effect. There was a female in the SENTRI lane and I used the Ready lane, but no one else was even there. A few people used the general line but were immediately seen and processed. They seemed to have more agents than customers crossing the border. When originally going across into Mexico at 3 PM on Halloween the line entering the USA appeared to be backed up for at least two or three hours.

I don't live in the Southland but I've been reading these Tijuana forums for months and am sold on the sting-less mongering bargain this city seems to be (particularly the SG's), so I've tentatively decided to fly down to San Diego in January for 15-20 days (completely avoiding the year-end holiday travel rush) for some serious debauchery. The main thing I'm pondering is whether I should try staying in Tijuana or across the border somewhere in San Diego County (perhaps within walking distance of a trolley station near the National City / Main & Division strolls), or even roughing it out in the sticks somewhere for free on the US side if the weather is dry and warm enough. The obvious benefit of remaining in Mexico is not having to repeatedly deal with the northbound border line and inquisitive US border guards (I have a passport), but I'm a nonsmoker and have trouble sleeping in rooms with more than a hint of cigarette stench, and fear the Mexicans may be more lax about vigilantly maintaining non-smoking rooms than many US motels are these days (particularly in the cheaper hole-in-the-wall places in the Zona Norte). I've also read conflicting things on the Internet about whether the tap water in Mexico is still unsafe to drink or brush your teeth with, and should be completely avoided (I somehow got sick on it when I visited Mazatlan many years ago even though I was trying to avoid directly ingesting it) -- so what are your recommendations on all that?

Another major concern I have is avoiding girls under 18. I've looked at numerous pics of Tijuana SG's on Google, and many of them could be a little under that age for all I know -- particularly the ones who exaggerate their youthfulness by dressing in Mexican school girl garb. The situation is further muddled by the fact that even full-grown Latinas generally have a much smaller stature than Caucasian females. Am I supposed to just assume all the girls in the main strolls of the Zona have been checked out by authorities as being of legal age? Do they usually carry official identification, and can I request it if I'm nervous? The US State Department warns: "Soliciting sexual services of a minor is illegal in Mexico, and is punishable by imprisonment" -- then elsewhere on the same page warns of the horrors of the Mexican penal and criminal justice systems (plus if you survive imprisonment in Mexico, the US feds can then take a crack at you for traveling to a foreign country to engage in sex with minors). Yet despite these huge potential risks, I've seen little or no worry or discussion of this issue in the Tijuana forums.

The State Department also generally advises not to take Libre taxis, Volkswagen beetle taxis or any taxi not summoned by telephone in advance. I know some parts of Mexico are more dangerous than Tijuana, so I'm wondering if that precaution is necessary just to go from the Zona to the border?

Finally, where's a good place to buy pepper spray in SD or Tijuana, because I doubt the TSA will let me bring it on the plane.

Why do you want pepper spray? Don't bring it into Mexico! You are new but I think that Tijuana might not be for you if you are really paranoid. Things you hear in other parts of the USA, shit even San Diego, are from UNINFORMED people. I have not seen any [CodeWord902] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord902) paradita girls on the street where they legally post WITH health (Mexican government issued) cards. They have to show you if asked. They pay 400 pesos a month to get rechecked. They actually look like a seniti type card with two photos of the girl on them. Also the "real" name and address (and AGE) (which the chicas really don't want you to see!

Also the "real" name and address (and AGE) (which the chicas really don't want you to see!I don't know about that. I hit a girl the other day who told me she was 32. I could have sworn she was no older than 21.

While I am posting, I also had a SG rub vaseline all over my dick before a BBBJ. I had never heard of that in my life. She said it makes it better. I don't know why she would want all of that vaseline in her mouth, but it did feel kind of good.

Also, the best exchange rate that I saw was right next to the trolley. It was over 13. Even though the interbank is 13.63 right now, it seems the Mexicans don't want to give more than 12.90.

Finally, where's a good place to buy pepper spray in SD or Tijuana, because I doubt the TSA will let me bring it on the plane.1. Staying I a tent, in the SD area, for 20 days? In January? Are you serious?

2. Stay in Tijuana. I can't imaging staying in the Zona for 15 - 20 days. It's OK to try, but it's your funeral. I'd suggest moving around a bit. RTFF for many hotel recommendations outside the zona.

3. If you're that offended by cigarette smoke, perhaps it's better to stay home. Yes, smoking in the clubs is "illegal," but it's not well enforced. It varies from club to club. As far as hotels go, if you stick to decent places (Ticuan, Villa de Zaragoza, Real del Rio, etc. ,) they are pretty strict about keeping their non-smoking rooms non-smoking. But avoiding the merest whiff of tobacco smoke? Good luck.

4. Even the locals don't drink the tap water. So, take your cue from them. However, they do brush their teeth with it, as do I, and it's been OK. I doubt you got sick in Mazatlan from drinking water. It was probably something washed in contaminated water, I. E. Fresh fruit, salad, etc. Eat in slightly more upscale gringo places, or eat where the locals eat, and you'll be OK.

5. Don't go with girls who appear to be under / close to 18. If they look to be mid-20's you'll be fine. Rocket science this ain't. Ask for their health card if you have doubts. Ease up on the paranoia. If you're a kiddy-fiddler trolling for kids in Mexico, you deserve whatever happens to you. But the authorities aren't combing the zona, looking for gringos picking up chicas menor de edad. In fact, I think I can count on one hand the number of SGs I've seen who appeared to be menor de diez y ocho, and I may have been wrong. In the clubs I think the management takes the age thing seriously, too. Stick with the mid-20's rule and you'll be fine.

6. No Taxi Libres?? If that were the case, probably 80% of Tijuana would be riding the bus. I have no idea if that advice was for Mexico City, Tijuana, or whatever. There are no Beetle taxis in Tijuana. There are basically two types of taxis for the average gringo. Libre and Economico. Most Economicos are yellow, but not all. However, the ones that aren't will have a sign in the window, or something. Those are supposed to operate on a "zone" basis, where it's a flat fee from one zone of Tijuana to another. It's too complicated to get into here, but, in general, the Economicos will cost more. The Libres simply run all over town. Flag one down, ask about the price to wherever you want to go, haggle a bit if necessary, and go. Anywhere you want to go should be about 50 pesos. The vast majority of locals who use taxis use Libres. In all these years I've never had a problem with a Libre driver. Most are nice guys. One old guy took it upon himself to help me practice my Spanish. One told me all about his life in Seattle, pre-deportation. One, when asked how much I owed him for the ride, simply said Whatever you want to pay. If you must depend on a taxi you call beforehand, you'll be waiting around for a long time. If you're really going to hang for 20 days, get the number of a Libre driver you like and call him when you want to go somewhere.

7. Don't take pepper spray into Mexico. You really don't need to be jacked up by the cops, and they find an illegal "weapon" on your person. I may be speaking out of school, but if that happens I suspect you'll be in for a rather bad, and / or expensive, day.

The girls at "school girl corner" looked young and hot to me on my first visit, which was several years ago. But now they look much older and less attractive, some may be the same girls that I met on my first visit. These girls also have a reputation of rushing you in and out of the room as quickly as possible. I no longer consider hiring any of these girls.

As far as minors, most work off the grid. In homes and shit hotels, not in the Zona.

Taxi drivers are nicer than expected, just work out a price before you get in.

You could probably rent monthly place somewhere online. Playas de Tijuana may be a bit far from Zona but it has lots of monthly options.

I went once before to Tijuana and brought USA Dollars. Is dealing with pesos really the way to go?Pesos does save you a little bit of money. For me, it isn't worth the headaches of dealing with two currencies. If you do switch to pesos, you get a better deal in San Ysidro than in Tijuana. If you convert anything back to dollars, do that in Tijuana (but be on the lookout for counterfit US dollars).

Mr Enternational

I went once before to Tijuana and brought USA Dollars. Is dealing with pesos really the way to go?This has been discussed ad nauseum. They will tell you $20. You say I only have pesos. They will say 200 pesos then. $20 = 260 pesos in the real Tijuana world (actually 272 pesos at today's interbank exchange rate). So if you want to save yourself $5 on each street girl then you better be using pesos. The clubs really use a little less than the real exchange rate so it won't make a difference there, but on the street it does.

They are JUST a cut above a tent, but you don't have to have all your shit wet, when it rains in January, or you freezing your balls off, when it gets down to 40 F EVERY NIGHT / but it will be cold in the rooms. You can "use the bathroom" #1 & #2 (hope that passes the censors!!!) in the luxurious bano down the hall and can take a shower!

If you need to save that much money you NEED to probably stay home!

Or perhaps discretely hop on a passing freight train. Better yet stay home because even Tijuana putas will refuse service if it's obvious you haven't showered in a week.

Back in 2001 when I first started going to Tijuana I would sleep on the US side on E Street Chula Vista at a place called The Good Night Inn below the 5 freeway. Across the street is the Chula Vista Nature Reserve. It is basically park land that surrounds the bay. Most of it is dry but heavily condensed. In the very middle of the park (far from peering eyes) is a cement block that you can sit on and gaze onto the bay. A perfect spot for Artisttyp to recollect his thoughts and unwind.

On one trip I was sitting out there and noticed a young guy walking towards me in the distance. I was thinking maybe he smelled the good 420 and wanted a few drags but as he approached he opened his jacket and made me aware that he was carrying a gun. As to not F around with him. Anyways when he came closer I offered him some 420 and we started casually talking. He was concerned about being robbed since he was squatting with another guy and they were looking out for each other. I told him I was just a traveler coming to party in Mexico. We shared a few hits talked some more then he left.

No big deal. I hope that was dramatic enough for you.

Is the $50-80 for the bar girls include the room fee, or is it all for the girl?

Finally, where's a good place to buy pepper spray in SD or Tijuana, because I doubt the TSA will let me bring it on the plane.Definitely stay on the Tijuana side. Crossing the border every day will ware you out. Its still 2-3 hours during 'normal' times. Not too long if you cross from 1-6 am. Try hotel La Villa de Zaragosa, most rooms are non smoking, the smoking rooms are kept in the back. Plus you're far enough a way from the noise of the Zona Rosa. Buy bottled water, there's plenty of AM-PM type stores around. Yes, don't go with the underaged girls. And have fun.

Seeking info for a safe paid parking lot for long term parking (6 days) close to the the GreenLine/Blue Line in walking distance. Closer to old town/Little Italy and downtown okay but not the San Yasidro border.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. . . I'm mostly concerned if she'll let me stick my tongue down her throat LOL.

That will be hard to find; seriously.

YES That Chica is Famous! I've had my throat cleaned. To the point I had to come up for air!. Also I pity the guy who has to use the room AFTER her!Geeze. Here I sit 2800 miles away. Talk like that is going to drive me nuts. And none of my San Diego customers need me out there for the next couple of months. Time to call the airline and cash in some of my frequent flier miles.

Regarding tonsil exams via tongue, I've found quite a few girls in Zona Norte who approve of it. But I must admit, Elana is in a league of her own. Every monger needs to take her arriba at least one time.

As GSRR pointed out, never take Elana to a room where you plan on sleeping. She needs a short term room with the VIP cardholder's extension of time.

Some good 420 to put everyone at ease.

Ok. I know how much you love drama so here it goes.

I hope that was dramatic enough for you..

HOW ABOUT THIS: When I first started going to Tijuana I would stay on the USA Side, one night while I was having trouble sleeping I walked to a nearby park to enjoy some 420. I was sitting in the park minding my own business when I was accosted by homeless men with guns. After robbing me of everything they proceeded to look through the photos in my phone. After discovering I was the infamous T J butt licker they forced me to return to my room. While holding me at gunpoint they proceeded to have me lick their butts. All I can say is thank god for Comic con, the next thing I know a drunkin super hero accidently entered my room by mistake, causing the perpetrators to flee.

So what have we learned. These days I will never stay on the USA Side while visiting Tijuana instead I have found I can stay for weeks at a time in T J and enjoy the safety and drama free good times that the city of Tijuana provides me.

A months back I found myself landing in San Diego. With my small bag I headed for the Airport exit.

Caught the 992 bus just outside, purchasing a day pass on board headed the few miles to America Plaza- just after the RR tracks where most of the passengers were getting off I figured this must be it, cross the street to the red trolleys marked San Yasidro, Tijuana.

Sitting the direction we were headed for the Mexican Boarder, this trolley was full of some characters, felt I was in a foreign country already, clean and new I like the mode of trans.

After a thirty min ride I was impressed to see for the first time the hills filled with shanty houses & huge Mexican flag of Tijuana. After exchanging around $300 for Pesos I headed up and past the McD and through the turnstile

Not stopping on my way past the Mexican customs or the guy holding the rife, down the stairs and between the line of people headed back to the US then left, past the guy telling us all to take the bridge for a taxi, I turned around and started up the bridge then decided to keep walking ahead, asking some christian missionary if more Taxis available down the street like I hoped, Yes they said, walking ahead I seen the yellow taxis walked a little further and found a taxi Libre, ask him the price for Hotel Aqua Rio on Constitucion, $6 I think it was.

Tijuana was much more hilly then I imagined and reminded me of Rio a little, arrived at the hotel were I would be for three nights, they spoke little English my Spanish is next to zero.

Had trouble finding my Reservation I booked with their website, I also had a room at Cascade booked figuring this might happen. They finally found me a room on the second floor, nice small room for $33 night, but with the humidity the two fans in the room were not enough.

Around 2:30 pm jet lagged I decided to take a shower then walk the block north to hotel Ticuan for some food. Walking the wrong direction up a hill outside before I got my bearing & directions.

A nice meal and one drink then headed up revolution to the arch then right, across from the wax museum I went inside a pharmacy to purchase some 100 MG Viagra in the original package it looked, took it in the store and headed back to ave. Constitucion seeing the street girls for the first time and finding the alley.

Around 6:00 pm entered Hong Kong and sit at the bar, was meet quickly by a masero who ask me if I want a drink, bought one, place was a little bigger then I thought and very nice facilitys but this waiter would not leave me alone for long and was following me around LOL.

Just wanted to chill A little it was early Friday night, brought several chicas over I finally decided to have a drink with Melony mostly to lose my shadow. Not really my type too many tats and I could tell a pro by her good English.

She ask $70 if I wanted to go to the room, I countered with $50 she countered with $60 I got up to leave she said ok $50 for you honey, up to pay the guy for the room, better rooms then Rio de janeiro IMO and probably the FKK's in Germany I was impressed.

After the jet lag and the large meal I wasn't really feeling the Viagra. She had a nice body, ok face, turned how my picture request. CBJ a few positions but I could not finish, it was ok I was still happy to be in a City I Imagined would not be this good.

The next day I was feeling better meet Marybell at Adelita agreed on $60.

Other girls, , street girl 40 pesos, Michelle-Adelita $60, Anna SG w greek $50.

Bella- Adelita great from the chest up -Adelita $60, Natalie $35 S&F.

Went to the Bull fight Sunday, I think the bus was $1 from 3rd street, good time.

Did get stopped my a cop heading to the alley one night, lost some money I should have left in the room.

More moment that fade with time, wish I could have reported earlier, Spent some time and walked to new body (massage place) but they did not have ATM. Nice place, did pick a girl the next morning at the massage place close to NB, spent too much for the service there. Overall I will definitely return, not the safest place to travel solo, watch your back.

Spent a few more days vacationing in SD, stayed @ Days Inn.

Chula Vista, was showing a lot of wear. Pic is Michelle. Adelita.

Rocky the Flying Squirrel, and I, headed to Playas on Saturday. I was looking for that place, Terraza Vallarta, that was featured in Anthony Bourdain's 2012 Baja episode of No Reservations. Well, I found the place. Or, more accurately, where the place used to be. The giant Titanic is still atop the building but the place appears to have suffered the same fate as that benighted ship. Bummer.

But, a few doors down is a large place called LOS Arcos. There's an upstairs and downstairs, both with tables and a long bar along the back window so you can eat and look out at the ocean.

They have an extensive menu but, for me, the fish ceviche tostada was the standout. A tostada "shell" piled with a huge mound of fish ceviche (fish, cucumber, tomato, red onion, etc.) and a slice of cucumber on top. Squeeze some lime over the top, slather on as much hot sauce as you like and you're stylin' I managed three before I had to throw in the towel. The best part is that they are only 10 pesos each.

Rocky's filete al diablo was expertly cooked but, for me, the sauce was a bit on the sweet side. It had enough heat to make it interesting.

As a bonus, if you're into very loud, live, Norteno music you'll be very happy here.

It's not the only place in Playas, but it's worth checking out if you're in the area.

Oh, and later that evening we spent a few hours downing a few caguamas in Zacazonapan. Great place to chill, great jukebox. The trip to the men's room is like walking through a Grateful Dead concert.

There is also a LOS Arcos in Zona Rio, which I took one of my girls there for her birthday. In the section we were in, there was a couple singing current Latino music; very low key.

In search of a young girl with a tight body who enjoys DFK, I hit the red light district last night (Nov. 11).

Following Golfsexrroll & Tomjackin's advice, I didn't have any problem finding a $5 cabbie to take me to & fro the border.

I spent the first hour or so bouncing between Hong Kong and Adelita's paying for drinks and tips for Hong Kong's greedy waiters before I hooked-up with a 21 yo native-looking hyper girl named Alexandra at Adeliita's.

Transfixed by her beauty, I quite stupidly agreed to pay her 120 dlls for an hour of DFK (I say 'stupidly' because every monger knows you pay the minimum for first-time sex. I should of paid for only a half-hour).

When we got to the room, Alexandra became difficult. She didn't want to touch or such her breasts because they are "for her babies". I told her to fuck-off and lost my 147 dlls (120 for Alexandra, and 27 for the room).

Then I spend another hour bouncing between Hong Kong & Adelita's. I suppose Hong Kong isn't bad if all you want to be grouped by somewhat attractive women and harassed by waiters.

But I wanted more. So I eventually found a skinny 22-yo named Damitsa at a bar next to Adelita's. I agreed to pay her 60 dlls for 40 minutes with DFK, plus the 17 dlls room fee.

But because I really enjoyed watching her tight little body have multiple orgasms, I eventually paid for an additional hour until she said she couldn't take anymore.

The most horrifying part of my trip was when my GPS took me back over the border, and I almost got run over. Eventually I found the Sentri lane (even though I'm not a Sentri member). Now I'm hella worried about getting a ticket in the mail because I was driving a company rental, and I'll be in deep shit if they found out I went to Tijuana.

Thanks guys for your honesty in relating your stories. I guess it's a little tougher when you're in Tijuana for the first time. Thank you for the nice photos, MoneyShot. There are plenty of good choices at Adelitas for about $50. But as Coyote's post shows, all details must be fully discussed before going upstairs. I am a little curious about your interaction with the cop, MoneyShot. Did he actually rob you? If not, how did he get your money? Were you doing or carrying something illegal? There's no need to pay off the cops just for stopping you. My best plan of action is to arrive first at Hong Kong, relax on my own, with a drink I will nurse very slowly, and take in the sights and smells, and get about 10 one dollar gropes. That will get me plenty horny to go search among the SG for the diamond in the rough (200 pesos + 60 for room). Again, always agreeing to every aspect of the session before hand. After that, a street taco, and Then to Adelitas to relax with a drink and a nice GFE session with one of my favorites, or somebody new like that Michelle. The total bill comes to about $24.50 (gropes and Adelitas Hotel, and tips for restroom attendant and cum boy), and 1100 pesos counting sessions, drinks, SG room, taco, tips to girls and parking. $100 well spent.

Well at least we have the benifit of being able to recognize posible trouble ahead if we keep are eyes open. In Tijuana where some of the banditos are forced to wear uniforms it does make it a little easier to avoid them. Whenever I see them I will do anything to avoid contact. Duck in a bar or store or cross the street etc. Ect.

That's when I noticed I was missing some $, this happened quick. Not a knock, buy why carry a money clip and wallet? IMHO, a wallet is an invitation to pickpockets, especially the uniformed kind.

I carry folding money and my passport card / SENTRI card in a front pants pocket. I find it's easier to keep track of a single item, should I have to assume the position.

Other than that, you did everything right. It appears that things may be degenerating. In the old days, under Jorge Hank, the cops were simply brazen. They'd lurk at the taxi drop-off and shake down drunk gringos right in front of God and everybody. Then Calderon sent in the army to clean up the Tijuana police force and things did get better. I wonder if we're witnessing a return to the bad old days.

Oh, and Tom's right. You no speekee Spanish. I'm not sure why this is axiomatic, but whenever I've been jacked up Rocky the Flying Squirrel always tells me "You don't speak Spanish!

I went once before to Tijuana and brought USA Dollars. Is dealing with pesos really the way to go?A bar girl who wants $80 but will except 800 pesos will save you $21 as you pay her the 800 = $59 at current rate of 13.4 cambios San Ysidro.

$15 for a street girl who agrees to 200 pesos $5 saved or about the cost of the room.

No, best to not bother with pesos. LOL.
