I would not recommend the bros to carry drugs, even marijuana, across the border, as they are still illegal in the US, may be caught by our own CPB, and could be an expensive headache. When you head north, the CBP sometimes has dogs. I presume these are trained to sniff for drugs and some other contraband.

Coming back Friday night after midnight, CBP reduced SENTRI lanes to only 3. Only 4 to 5 cars were waiting in each lane.
I dropped my non-SENTRI wingman near the metal gate. He just walked around the concrete barrier and went in. About 6 CBP guys were hanging out nearby, just bullshitting, not doing anything. They could have hassled my wingman for hopping over the barriers, but did not. If you were hopping barriers, it's safer to do it before the bumps marking US soil.
One guy was holding the leash of a dog. He leisurely walked the dog around the cars waiting in the SENTRI lanes. That was why the SENTRI lanes were slower than normal. CBP probably had intelligence someone was trying to smuggle some shit in SENTRI cars that night.

Thanks for the info in the Boner pills. All though I go to Tijuana late and Piri was closed. So, I walked back towards the arch and saw another Pharmacy right on the corner. They had Figral! 4 x $5, what a deal. I popped one and it started to work after 50 minutes or so. Woke up the next morning still feel the effects.
Tried to go to Sentri entrance last Sat. Afternoon via my usual route from zona. However, the usual way had a big traffic backup. A Mexican traffic cop forced me to move one lane to the left into regular USA Entrance lane. Had to wait for 3 hrs and 30 minutes to finally enter USA.

I've been meaning to post this report for the past two weeks, but due to the circumstances, I am just getting to it now.

I'm planning to stay 5-6 days in Tijuana or maybe more and I want to stay in a safe clean place away from the zona.
$40- $45 a day is out of the question it must be something more Tijuana price and less than tourist sucker price. If anyone here ever rent a whole week deal what was you total cost and what hotel.
Do you know if they give you a better deal when you pay for a whole week. I've done this before but only one night. I even stood one whole day night at Hotel Coahuila which was horrible they charged me $45 ripoff for a shitty loud and noisy "sauna" room with No Air. I couldn't sleep at all I'm not staying there again.
I'm not taking my car I'll be a riding taxi from to the zona. Just to mention Hotel Hacienda de Santiago I don't feel safe in that block so I rather go to sleep out of the zona. I have no problem taking a girl out of the zona because I pay for her taxi ride the next morning.
The Mansion was real nice like for a day but I don't think I want to waste $300 dollars in a room for a week I need all the dough I can save for the girls. I wonder if they offer a better week rate at this place.

Planning my next visit I find my self divided by two options: Go to HK or Adelitas and take a girl upstairs once, or for a little bit more money get an escort and have fun for an hour or more, twice.

Because chances are pretty good that they will mysteriously lose their record of your payment and will ask you to check out after a day or two saying that you only paid for 1-2 days. So make sure you ask for a receipt that is clearly marked with the number of days paid for. If you want to save money on hotels I would stay at Cascadas on Mon / Tues for $11/ day utilizing the VIP discount then move to a different hotel. Perhaps Velario which is in zona or maybe Caesars.

However, La Mansion does, indeed, rent their rooms for the entire night except for Fridays and Saturdays. On those days the posted rate is for 4 hours. Every time I've rented there on a weekday the guy tells me the checkout time the following morning. Others have an all-night posted rate and a special 4 hour rate. Some, like Motel Otay, will do an all-night on a weekend but it's a bit pricey and they wanted cash.

500 miles one way is a very long drive, perhaps 10 hours drive, to party and fuck some girls. By the time you get to Tijuana you would have to spend a day or 2 to recover from the fatigue. I admire your dedication to Tijuana and hope you have a wingman to share the driving.
One of my wingmen used to fly his Cessna 150 from Tucson to San Diego. It's about 400 miles one way mostly over the desert. His plane does about 100 MPH, so it's 4 to 5 hours flight, depending on the wind and how long he has to wait to refuel en route. The plane is equipped only with basic flight instruments, so he could be delayed by bad weather. But he was always eager to go. He did look like a lonely guy after his divorce, wanting female companies.
It's amazing how someone would go such long distances for female companies.

Heard from a friend today who got searched by the monkees. They foumd some maxifort on him and said he was going to jail unless he paid up. He said fine take me to the judge. They put him in the truck and drove him around for 2 hours. As the story goes he ended up in a field where they joined up with 2 more cops. At this point it was negotiated each cop would get a 20 (80 US total) and he would be a free man. They then dropped him off in a zona alley. Not a good way to start your trip.
So does anyone know mexican law as far as carrying ED drugs on your person. Would having a MX perscription made a difference since it was really all about extorting money from a gringo.

It's amazing how someone would go such long distances for female companies.I leave very early on a Friday, get to border crossing usually by 1. 00 PM. Get to hotel, eat, rest till night. The first night can be hard and at times I have found myself difficult to cum even if I have a stiff one. Next day is better. I no longer make so frequent trips, though I miss the chicas.

They were not dealing with the typical scared tourist. This was a stand your ground kond of guy, with hundreds of Tijuana trips under his belt. And he did demand to go to the station to sort it out.

I had to do some business in San Diego, so scooted over to Tijuana for the afternoon.
Left the car at the Carillo paint shop on Calle 3 for polishing. For 100 pesos (about $6) they have a guy buffing the whole car with a power tool and polishing compound, then hand waxed and buffed, making the paint look bright, shiny and the car look brand-new again. Even the head lights were buffed to look crystal-clear and brand-new.
It's much better than just washing and detailing the car, and is such a good deal. Just leave the car for 2 hours for them to work on while you head straight for La Zona for entertainment. Hehe.
His name is Ruben Carillo at Carillo's Paint and Upholstery, Calle 3, Tijuana. He's a reasonable guy, speaks good English and can be convinced to offer good deals on body work (his cell phone is 011 5XXXX 695 4058, shop 3XXXX24).
His shop is on the taxi route on Calle 3 from the border into Centro, immediately North of the right turn on Negrete to the Mercado de Artesanias. He does good body work and paint jobs, better than most shops in that area. The shop opens until 8 so you have plenty of time to go to the clubs than come back to pick up the car.

In the last 30 years I was aware of various programs to read cars' license plates crossing borders. A couple companies got a few million each to develop ways to read but they all lacked reliability, and had not been implemented.
I now personally confirmed that CBP has been reading license plates of cars, going and coming back, with high reliability. If Christopher Dorner had tried to cross the border into Mexico in his Nissan titan truck, he would have been caught.
Car thieves know license plates on stolen cars can be read automatically, so they put fake plates as they drive the cars into Mexico.

A border patrol agent, of who I could not determine his families origins (race), tells the guy that was waiting something like this "You know your name sounds Muslim. That's probably why you are being held here. I know not all Muslims do bad terrorist things, but you have to agree that most of the people doing the terrorist things are Muslim, your name sounds like many of the Muslim terrorists names. " I was thinking to myself. Wow, did he just really say that? I couldn't believe an Agent was that dumb to say such a thing. Too bad I couldn't have recorded that and handed it (or maybe sell it) to CNN or something. The so called Muslim guy was wearing normal California kind of clothes and had very short hair with a clean shaven face. So, he wasn't looking stereo-typical. But his name got him stopped by customs.
If you want to find out about how long the border wait is you can find that info online. Just Google search for it, and it will take you to the CBP website. Also they have a phone app that will tell you the times. It has been fairly accurate when I used it.
As far as crossing in to Mexico, a lot of Mexicans work in California and cross back in to Tijuana after work. So, I'd avoid the after work hours. I'm sure Friday about 5 PM would be very bad. If you have access to drive on a Military base, you can park your car on a Navy base, then take the trolley to the border. I have done this at Pacific Fleet Station (trolley station) many times. I park on base, and it takes about 3 minutes to walk to the trolley station. The only problem is if I wanted to come back to California between 1 AM and 5 AM when the trolley isn't running I'd be screwed.

Good to know about the app. Updating a wait time. I usually cross back between 11 pm - 3 am. It seems like I get stuck in a line at all other hours. But I wish that the Border Patrol would post their donuts and coffee break hours too, as I was stuck in a line for half an hour the last time I visited due solely to Agents taking a break and eating in the back.

It's the first shop North of Articulo 123 on the East side of Constitution. The barber is in the chair furthest from the entrance. It is actually one of the best haircuts I've had in a long time. If not for the 6 hour airplane ride, I'd go get another right now.

The cleaning preson found the body I'm the morning. I was in the calle at 9 am and the whole alley was closed. I talked to several sg amigas who were visably shaken. Drug killings ok but When it hits home they react.

I was talking a car buffing, not dick waxing.
Go to the shopping mall next to Caliente Casino on the way back to the border. There are much nicer, cleaner barber shops and nail salons in that area.

If you are thinking of using this place as a regular hotel that won't work. They rent the rooms in 4 hour increments. If you check in later in the evening they will give you the room for the whole night at the 4 hour rate, except on weekends. The rooms are really nice, but you can not come and go. So you can't get a room and head to the zona to find a mate to bring back or head off to dinner.
I remember the first time we stayed there we had a room with no garage and we wanted to go get dinner and go out dancing. They tried explaining it doesn't work that way. We played ignorant and argued the point. " WTF kind of hotel is this you mean we can't even leave and go out to dinner. " Well it worked they sent someone to lock our room and he came and opened it when we returned.Ok I had this same problem when I rented a room in El Parador, they told me you can't leave and comeback why everything have to be so screwed up in Tijuana.
What's the big friking deal if I go out for dinner or whatever and then comeback to the hotel. Also If you don't have a car you must leave your Driver License at the front desk. Thanks Baxter!

I went to The zona last week I haven't been in Tijuana for a year. First thing I noticed was the UETA parking was gone WTF? There's only one large parking on the south side by the frwy exit. They want $8 M-Th and $20 for weekends what a friking ripoff! Walked over the frwy and I crossed into Mexico I got the red light no big deal I continued to the taxi line and took a taxi to the zona.
$5 dollars later I arrived in the zona it was very creepy with police all over the area something I didn't see last year.
Of course when you ask the locals they always tell you that there's nothing to worry but I heard people saying there's been a lot of drug deals going bad and a few murders inside the zona that explains the enormous amount of police activity.
I took a stroll around the block from Adelitas at alley cat. I saw the State police searching a guy that looks like he works in one of the alley bars.
This was on Thursday around 4 PM.
The Street girls selection was poor and very few mongers walking on the alley.

I've never stayed at the Parador, but the food at La Mansion, El Premier, Ensueno and even Otay is pretty decent. Far from gourmet, but better than expected.
La Villa de Zaragoza is on Madero between 7th and 8th. It's not fancy like a nice motel, but it's clean, you can come and go as you please and I've had many nice times there. Real del Rio is nice, but they really don't like girls traipsing in and out. But if you just have one for a TLN you'll be OK. Hacienda del Rio is nice and there is no front lobby to walk through so you can come and go more or less anonymously. The problem is that AFAIK they only have two twin beds in all the rooms. The Real Inn Tijuana is decent and clean, lots of families, but the location isn't too convenient. Aqua Rio is small, but clean and close to Ticuan and cheap but it fills up fast.
VdZ is about $45 a night, IIRC. The others are around $70 a night, IIRC. RIT is about $40. AR is about $30.

Very, very basic, and seems dirty and old. Maybe they have done something to update it now. It is near the big arch. I think the prices are less than $40, and has A / see, but the last time I stayed there they only had internet in the lobby. But, maybe they fixed it. Their restaurant is only OK.
I have stayed at the Ticuan, and it is double the price of what other cheaper hotels will cost, and the walk is very far to the zona. For the last, I guess 2 years I only stayed at Caesars Hotel, the place with the fancy restaurant and the place they claim to have invented the Caesars salad. I have never took a woman back to my room in Tijuana, but I have seen some guys take ladies back to Caesars. Everything has been fine in Caesars hotel. It is best to pay them in pesos though. They only used $1 = 15 pesos two weeks ago. Hmm. I already forgot the exact price. It is about 600 pesos with an airconditioned room. This year they have 50 inch TVs. It is a 4 block walk from there to the big arch, then it would take about 2 and a half blocks of walking to Adelitas.

I just found it, and it is better. They tell you the historical time averages with graphs along with the live times, and you can submit your time wait, and they have some live camera views of the car traffic. But, I see that the cameras they use suck at night. Maybe it will look better during the day. They have the other USA Border crossing times also, including the borders with Canada.

If you park Thursday you must leave Friday before 10 AM good luck returning from Tijuana and be in time. I like to get up in the morning around 9 AM when in Tijuana sometimes later have breakfast and be at sentri at 9 AM LOL impossible. Just hop on the trolley and you honestly don't really have to pay the $2.50 because its just 1 or 2 stops. If you've never taken the trolley just make sure when you board you don't see a trolley attendant or wannabe cop board the same car as you. Even if you get caught all they will do is tell you to get off the next exit. If you are staying 24 hours of less you can park in the trolley parking lot for free.

UETA is closed I hope they open again soon. I need to park my car overnight Friday and Saturday Night. The Border station parking by the frwy exit is $20 a night on weekends starting Friday. If you park Thursday you must leave Friday before 10 AM good luck returning from Tijuana and be in time. I like to get up in the morning around 9 AM when in Tijuana sometimes later have breakfast and be at sentri at 9 AM LOL impossible. The other one by the jack in the box is too small and I don't know what are the fees on weekends maybe the same what else is available. Here are a few pictures I took entering and exiting Otay. Standing in line it only took me 8 minutes to cross back at about 2 pm. It would have been quicker but I was in the wrong line and did not the that the Ready Line was open. No one was in that line.

You're right on the money man. My idea is to leave my car for two to three nights. Is that parking lot by the shopping area is $20 on weekends too?Unsure. I think it may be $8. One other idea is to leave one's car in a safe university neighborhood like near UCSD or CSU San Diego and take the trolley down.

I have stayed at the Nelson a few times during the last decade. But, that place is. Very, very basic, and seems dirty and old. Maybe they have done something to update it now. It is near the big arch. I think the prices are less than $40, and has A / see, but the last time I stayed there they only had internet in the lobby. But, maybe they fixed it. Their restaurant is only OK.
I have stayed at the Ticuan, and it is double the price of what other cheaper hotels will cost, and the walk is very far to the zona. For the last, I guess 2 years I only stayed at Caesars Hotel, the place with the fancy restaurant and the place they claim to have invented the Caesars salad. I have never took a woman back to my room in Tijuana, but I have seen some guys take ladies back to Caesars. Everything has been fine in Caesars hotel. It is best to pay them in pesos though. They only used $1 = 15 pesos two weeks ago. Hmm. I already forgot the exact price. It is about 600 pesos with an airconditioned room. This year they have 50 inch TVs. It is a 4 block walk from there to the big arch, then it would take about 2 and a half blocks of walking to Adelitas.I ditto your experiences to the tee with Neslon, Ticuan and Ceasers. Don't know why they don't make at least some basic upgrades at Nelson, if they did and charged a few more bucks a night I would stay more often.

I think that Long Don recommended the parking lot near the shopping area. You may have to walk an extra block but it was $8 if you exit by 8 am the next day. All of the lots on the other side of the bridge including the Jack in the Box charges per 8 hours. So one is looking at about 3 x the fees if one is leaving the car overnight for a weekend stay. Damn, for $20 + per day on a three day stay, it's tempting to drive across but would be hellish coming back without a Sentri card.If you turn right after exiting the highway at Camino de la Plaza, you will almost immediately see a Baja Mex currency exchange on the left side of the road with a tall sign that reads "Mexican Insurance". There is a small parking lot there that almost always has at least a few open spaces. $6 to park until 8 AM the next day, or $12 to park until 8 AM the following day. Same price on weekends.
I haven't ridden the trolley regularly for years but when I did freeloaders were regularly cited by the trolley "wannabe cops".
Just hop on the trolley and you honestly don't really have to pay the $2.50 because its just 1 or 2 stops. If you've never taken the trolley just make sure when you board you don't see a trolley attendant or wannabe cop board the same car as you. Even if you get caught all they will do is tell you to get off the next exit. If you are staying 24 hours of less you can park in the trolley parking lot for free.

It was inexpensive and not too bad a walk to the border. It's on google maps aerial view, but I can't tell if it's still a car parking lot (it's also used for semis).
Also, there is street parking along Nicole Tesla if you get there early. Lots of people use it, I've parked overnight before, never a problem.

According to the website the CBX lot is $15 per day. At least I still get $7 at Border Station Parking Mon-Thurs. Although I expect that to change during the summer.

Driving South on I5. The line at the border backed up to the last USA exit. Traffic slowed down but did not stop. It took about 15 minutes total to go through the border to get to La Zona.
I was going South on Constitucion. It was blocked off at Calle 1 by policias. A moto cop shone a flash light at my car telling me to take a detour West on Calle 1. La Zona was totally quarantined and blocked off at all major entry points by 30 to 40 Policia Municipal's white pick up trucks, plus squad cars and Army Humvees in desert camouflage paint with machine guns in their turrets. From a block away, I could see bar Malquerida was being searched by pickup trucks parked with beacons flashing in front of the entrance. II have not seen so many cops and armed soldiers in La Zona. It looked like a war zone, a major bust.
I drove West in heavy traffic on Calle 1. The run down hotel, next to the busted Nikki's BBQ bar and restaurant, was being searched by 5 or 6 policia trucks with half dozen guys lined up against the wall.
Nino heroes was also blocked. I detoured further West then went South on the wrong lane on Ninos Heroes to get into Pepe's parking. The rundown hotel across the street from Pepe's on Ninos Heroes was being searched by about 10 cops on 6 pick up trucks blocking the street. They were arresting about 10 guys.
The little shop across from bar Dulce and Guabana was being searched by 8 to 10 cops and soldiers. I walked in to buy cigarettes like usual. It was dark inside. A beefy cop tapped me on the shoulder and asked what I was doing. I told him buying cigarettes. He told me to get out. The place was being busted for something. They sealed the doors with red prosecutor's notices.
The hotel at the old school girls' corner on Constitucion was busted. The door was being boarded up by city officials. The mariscos guys at that corner were trying to assure me that the cops were acting for public security, but I could see they were all worried.
Chicas were hanging out in the alley as usual. HK's valet parking guys and others on the streets were telling me cops just wanted more money and were shaking down businesses. It appeared cops busted and boarded up any business for wide varieties of reasons.
Did not see any cops around HK. Las Chevelas and Adelita. Went into HK for safety and stayed all night. The place was packed with girls and guys and was not searched.

He was wearing sunglasss, black slacks and a blue guayavera style shirt. At first I thought undercover cop; but he had no police badge or ID. And this gun is not a normal kind that police use, especially one as shiny silver as a mirror.
As I walked past, I saw him looking at me. I immediately looked away, pretending that I didn't notice what I saw. Several mesero's were in the doorway area goofing off and laughing, like business as usual. A drunk man in his 60's was on the sidewalk, barely able to stand. A chica was going through each pocket of his suit, his shirt and pants, and he was so drunk he didn't know what she was doing. I kept on walking and never looked back. I don't know if the guy with the gun had anything to do with the chica and old man.
I have seen the exact same scenario near Hotel Eduardo with a chica rifling through a drunk man's pockets, but never with an armed man watching. I still get a bad vibe whenever I walk near that place.
On Friday around 5:30/6 pm, the military and the police conducted a huge operation sweep in the zona norte. HK was not exempt. I was in the first floor of HK waiting for one of the girls to get off work and meet me at the Ticuan. At around 6, she texted me from the upper level of HK and asked me if the military were conducting operations in the lower level, and I told her I did not see any military.
But in the upper levels, they were conducting military sweeps and she was contained with everyone else for at least 45 minutes. I went to the front desk and asked Miriam what in the hell was going on. She said the military came in and went upstairs. I decided to get the fuck out of there. When I left the front entrance, there were a shit-load of military vehicles, as well as police vehicles.
I jumped in a cab and all we saw was the military raiding many of the small stores and shops, as well as clubs. Some of the smaller bars were closed down afterwards.
My 6:30 date finally came to the hotel at 7:30, and she seemed somewhat shaken. I found out later that they rounded up a bunch of slugs and scumbags that hung out in the zona norte. Some of the places had illegal slot machines, which were removed as well.
Hell, I haven't seen that much military in one spot since I was on active duty!

First time back to Tijuana in over one year. I was shocked to see a new passport control at San Ysidro for foreigners entering into Mexico. Does anyone know if they are checking and stamping passports at the Otay Mesa border crossing. I would rather not have my passport stamped. Thanks.

A few years back, I was doing my deed with a woman in a short time hotel across from Cascades and walked out happy with a smile on my face. Right outside the entrance, there were tons of Federal police that had some Mexicans gangsta type spread eagled. The man in charge shouted some orders to me in Spanish and I did not understand a word. I tried walking away but he pointed that big old rifle at me and some more orders. I stopped. The Federal policia next to him realized that I was an innocent tourist and they let me go. Another time, when New York used to be a happening place, one night I walked in and it was full. The night before the local police had frisked me on my way to the hotel and they found nothing but Viagra. I was not happy about being stopped. At the far end of the bar I saw a single space to sit with a bunch of Mexicans already sitting down. I sat down next to them. They started talking to me and were quite nice folks. We chatted and I found that they were big time gang members, the top folks and one guy was getting married next week. One even showed me where a bullet grazed his face yesterday. I told these guys about being frisked by the police yesterday. They said that it will never happen again. I do not know if there were police guys also sitting with these gangsta. They also invited me to the guy's wedding next week. Anyway, this was few years back but to date, I ave never ever been stopped or frisked by the policia again. Don't know if it had to do with the gangsta connections or just luck.

A lot of people including myself have never been stopped, let alone frisked. So it's probably a coincidence rather than any special treatment. Confronted with an active search, I would have just stayed in the hotel and wait it out until they finish. And if spoken to, I would show them my hands and not try to leave. I just prefer to err on the cautious side because I don't know what "stop or I'll shoot" is in Spanish and the cop may be yelling that at me.

I was in LZ from around 8 PM on Friday night until 6 AM Tuesday morning. At my arrival I noticed an increased policia presence, military humvees and a lot of closed businesses.
Around a dozen LZ businesses were closed. I happened to be walking from HDS to the Leyva at around 9 PM on Friday when two Policia pick-up trucks and two Humvees arrived and performed a raid on Hotel Pepe.
Both policia and guys in Military garb entered. Most of the guys in light desert colored camouflage (Mexican Army) took positions on the sidewalk as two men in the business were placed on the floor and handcuffed.
Later that evening Hotel Pepe was closed, as were other businesses. The closed businesses had yellow-sticky signs sealing the doorways. Some of these sealing-signs were issued from some municipal 'office of inspection'. Other were closed with sealing-signs that claimed to be issued from a municipal 'office of finance'. Some closed businesses had their entrances sealed with two stickers, one from each of these two departments.
Among the businesses I saw closed all weekend were (on constitution) the Acapulco hotel, another business near hotel Monitos, another business close to bar Zap.
On Primera I saw a couple of businesses closed, including the blue & white hotel (Grande cuartos, chico cuartos). Other businesses on Nino Heroes and many on Coahuila Ave. Were closed, including the Karoke Bar.
Surprisingly, the only closed business that I saw reopened was Hotel Pepe (it reopened on Saturday, the next day). Street girls told my quasi wingman that a lot of businesses were closed because they had illegal gambling machines on the premises.
I had no trouble finding my walkers and street girls this entire trip. They seemed unaffected by the crackdown as the policia seemed more concerned with businesses and young Mexican men in LZ.

I saw Policias haul away lots of people, properly only a few low-level dealers, no capos.
They probably pocketed a few good chunks of unclaimed cash and copped lots of feels of the poor bar chicas. Hehehe.

San Diego (KABC) -- More than a ton of cocaine and seven tons of marijuana was seized and six people were arrested after federal authorities discovered a nearly half-mile long drug tunnel connecting Mexico and San Diego, the USA Attorney's office said on Wednesday.
The tunnel was estimated to be more than 800 yards in length. That's more than eight football fields.

It connected a house in Tijuana to an outdoor fenced-in commercial lot in an Otay Mesa industrial park, about 500 yards north of the international border, officials said. The opening on the USA Side is a 3-feet-wide hole that authorities said was once covered by a large industrial dumpster.
The tunnel was equipped with rail and ventilation systems, lights and even a large, commercial elevator that led from the tunnel into a closet inside the Tijuana home.
In total, authorities seized 2,242 pounds of cocaine and more than 14,000 pounds of marijuana.
The six people arrested in San Diego on Friday were charged with crimes involving drugs and construction of the tunnel.
The suspects were identified as Martiniano Garcia-Sedano, Cruz Armando Parra Corrales, Alejandro Bravo, Juan Carlos Chavez Fabian, Alejandro Gomez-Baez and Osmel Martinez.
The USA Attorney's office said the Otay Mesa tunnel is the 13th large-scale operational drug smuggling tunnel discovered along the California border since 2006.
In the last five years, federal authorities have detected more than 75 cross-border smuggling tunnels, most of them in California and Arizona.
The San Diego-Tijuana region is popular because its clay-like soil is relatively easy to dig with shovels and pneumatic tools, and both sides of the border have warehouses that provide cover for trucks and heavy equipment.
I was in Tijuana a few weeks ago, but I didn't see anything unusual happen in the 5 nights I was there. Except for maybe the ladyboys near the big arch.
But when I was there in late 2014 they closed Ave Revolucion and had concerts, and shows, and many vendors, and I seen a car show with some very expensive cars. Cars such as Lamborghinis, Rolls Royces, Bentleys, high-end Mercedes, lot of Porches, etc. The majority of the car owners were Asian guys.
With some taxi drivers I talked about HK bar, and we ended up talking about the HK bar has so many Asian guys. I don't want to say exactly what I was told the Asian guys do, but two different taxi drivers, and a lady in HK said the Asian guys do some "special business".
I'm half Asian myself. So I was sitting in HK bar back then and a Korean guy, that I later realized was at the car show, came to the bar and said I look Asian. In a friendly manor he said he never seen me before and asked why I came to Tijuana. He slowly worked other questions such as where I'm from and what I do for work. Then he says I seem like a nice guy and starts to leave. And I said you seem like a nice guy too. Then he stopped and said "no, I'm a thug ha-ha". I asked him earlier if the other Asian guys were Korean, and he said he was the only one. He said most of the other Asian guys are Chinese. He ended up coming to talk to me again about 20 minutes later, but it seems like we talked about the same stuff.
When I was there 3 weeks ago I didn't see him there, and nobody was asking me questions. Maybe this is a small part of these police raids. But obviously, many, or maybe most of the Asian guys in Tijuana are probably just having fun like everyone else.

A lot of people including myself have never been stopped, let alone frisked. So it's probably a coincidence rather than any special treatment. Confronted with an active search, I would have just stayed in the hotel and wait it out until they finish. And if spoken to, I would show them my hands and not try to leave. I just prefer to err on the cautious side because I don't know what "stop or I'll shoot" is in Spanish and the cop may be yelling that at me.

If you are thinking of using this place as a regular hotel that won't work. They rent the rooms in 4 hour increments. If you check in later in the evening they will give you the room for the whole night at the 4 hour rate, except on weekends. The rooms are really nice, but you can not come and go. So you can't get a room and head to the zona to find a mate to bring back or head off to dinner.
I remember the first time we stayed there we had a room with no garage and we wanted to go get dinner and go out dancing. They tried explaining it doesn't work that way. We played ignorant and argued the point. " WTF kind of hotel is this you mean we can't even leave and go out to dinner. " Well it worked they sent someone to lock our room and he came and opened it when we returned.Solid reviews from Yelp. Google it!

I don't want to be known a a racist. I want to be as fair, objective and scientific as possible in my observations in this sensitive issue. I am throwing some facts out, hoping to shed some light on it, hopefully it may help a few people.
They were cheering when Pacquiao landed his blows, but there were far more grumbling, and swearing when Mayweather landed his. When Mayweather was announced winner, a lot of people got upset. They were booing. Even the janitor was swearing some ugly words at Mayweather.
I don't know if there was bad blood against Blacks in Mexico previously.

I know you are supposed to get a travel permit from the Probation Officer but what if I don't get this. Will they know I am on probation and will I be detained? Any information will be helpful.

However, it was not too long ago, about 2-3 years ago, a Latina came to Tijuana with her African American boyfriend from LA during one of the American holidays and while in a bar, the Mexicans ganged up on the African American and beat the crap out of him. I do not know what started this but I guess it probably had to do with jealousy. I usually see the Hispanic gangsta from LA / SD who cause trouble and are rounded up by the Mexican Police.

The next time I came through Atlanta immigration I asked an officer if he would be arrested when he came through. He said if he came through Atlanta immigration he would, but somewhere else he would not. He bought a ticket to enter the country in Dallas and he was not arrested.

Well, a few years back, I had a bench warrant for arrest arising out of failure to pay a traffic ticket in Las Vegas. I was crossing the border to visit Tijuana sweethearts every week and CBP did not know shit. It was an infraction, a crude extortion by the deadbeats in Las Vegas' city council. Does that count?
I am not sure how local LEs coordinate arrest warrants with Federal agencies. Most local LE will not arrest illegal immigrants for CBP, so I assume CBP will not return favors by checking local warrants and make arrest for your dumb local sheriffs, except serious fugitives when the FBI is involved and sends out alerts to CBP.
I read about cases where federal arrest warrants were sent to all Interpol offices. The fugitives were arrested overseas and shipped back to the US by countries with extradition treaties with the US.
The guys who skip child support payments in the US are all subject to arrest warrants, high-priority wage garnishments and assets seizures. I heard a case where a guy hiding out in Asia had his passport seized by Asian immigration, who turned it over to the local US embassy. The guy could not leave the country. He had to pay all his back child support and hired an US attorney to clear the arrest warrant in court before he could get his passport back. So it's wise not to fuck around with the draconian US family courts.

I'm requesting the judge give me a travel permit for the 20 -22nd of May. This way, I will be legit. It will be interesting to see if they say anything to me when I cross back. I have read several of the forums going back a few months. But there is a lot of data in there and I don't really have any frame of reference to orient myself by.
I'm in SD in a couple of days (Tuesday) and have an opportunity to head down to Tijuana for a few hours in the afternoon and early evening. I have an early curfew, so will have to bail around 7-8 pm. I've never been to Tijuana, am starting in downtown SD, and won't have private transport to the boarder.
I understand that the trolly will get me to the crossing for a few bucks, and I can grab a cab on the MX side for 100-200 ps, so where do I want to go? Given my short leash and early hours what do I want to focus on. Is HK the place to go or is it dead that time of day? Do I understand that there are hotel rooms associated with the clubs? Would I be better off looking for SW chicas? Is is like Amsterdam or Hong Kong (the one in Asia) where the girls have their own rooms, or do I need to secure a short time hotel for fun times? Should I bring greenbacks or change my cash into pesos?

Ask to go to Adelita Bar. Check it out, sometimes very good. Just to the west is Hong Kong. Walk through it and into the alley. Walk the 1 block of the alley. After you've done those three things, you have seen the most popular attractions. Still, there are other bars and more street girls, escorts, and Craigslist. But you have limited time so this is what I recommend you see first.
The girls are all associated with a hotel and will be happy to take you there. Some of the street girls use nasty hotel rooms. AB and HK girls will take you to small but clean rooms with sink and shower. The AB hotel gives towels when you check in; recommend you pay the extra $1 so both you and the girl can have your own towel. The HK hotel (Cascadas) will have 2 towels in the room. The room might be too warm (not fun); good luck getting one with decent A/C.
For a short trip like you are taking, greenbacks are fine. You could save a little bit of money with pesos, but I don't think it is worth the hassel for a short trip.
Biggest concern for you is the return crossing. Wait times at the border can be anything from 3 minutes to 3 hours. If you have Global Entry, bring your card and get in the Sentri Lane at crossing.
You need a passport (or passport card) to get into Mexico. Passport or card will get you out, but Global Entry card is much faster.

Every now and then a chick will say 100 pesos more for no clothes and all positions. If this happens then I just say, "No. Es mucho. (No. It is too much.) and move on to the next one.
A very common mistake that foreigners make when going to other countries is trying to buy things in US Dollars. 90% of the time they are going to get ripped off this way. When in Rome, you negotiate in Roman currency for immediate goods or services. At today's rate of 18.11 pesos per USD, 200 Mexican pesos is $11.04. $20 is 362.16 pesos.
P.S. I think it is working the same way with the taxis. I think I heard talk of $5 to go from the border to the zona or vice versa, but they accept 50 pesos each and every time.

SENTRI card reader for sure at SY crossing. The SENTRI line is not 24/7. Global entry chip is attached to the passport works well at certain airports, follow the flight crew to locate the Reader. Passport card, passport and other government issued documents accepted in the general line. Can be more than three hour delay at certain time.

JetYour questions were not overbroad, and you received a lot of good advice because you had done your research and asked intelligent questions.
I think most of your questions were answered. I'll toss in my 2 centavos, too.
Yes, you WILL need your passport or passport card, not just GE or SENTRI. GE and SENTRI are not "valid identification" in other countries, just a way to speed up reentry into the USA.
It's easy to exchange dollars for pesos, as there are several places at the final trolley stop. However, most newbies overthink the process and start trying to convert everything from pesos to dollars, and vice versa. For a short trip, don't bother. The savings won't be enough to justify the bother.
It's pleasant on a nice day, but don't try to walk from the border to the Zona. It's OK for those who know their way around, but you don't, so take a cab. $5 is the price, DO NOT PAY MORE. Yes, it's cheaper in pesos, but that won't be an option.
As another poster said, you MUST take into account the crossing time back to the USA. Why do you need to leave at 7 or 8? Do you have a flight to catch? The busiest times at the border are in the evening when people are off work and going home. But Tuesdays are usually slower than weekends. It's a real crapshoot. If you do not have Global Entry then you must budget 1. 5 hours to cross. Often it does not take that long, but sometimes it does. It's very difficult to predict. If you have GE then there is little problem, as you simply walk to the head of the line, show your GE card to the guard and he'll let you pass. Stay in the SENTRI lane and you'll get right through. Budget 45 minutes from hotel door to crossing the line.
In case it wasn't clear, the hotel rooms are "associated" with specific bars. The girls, themselves, do not have rooms. But they must use the hotel that is associated with their bar. When you take a girl you must leave the club, walk a few feet to the hotel entrance, and go upstairs. (This skirts the anti-brothel laws). You'll be charged an exorbitant fee for 30 minutes in a more-or-less adequate room. Something like $17. Leave $1 in the room for the cleaning guy. NEVER pay the girl up-front. Ever. If she insists, walk. Ask for a refund of the room price, or an assurance you can get a free room when you bring up another girl.

Sentri and Global Entry are faster. I've never waited more than about 5 minutes for a global entry pedestrian crossing.

I know it's obvious to many, but Friday afternoons and Monday mornings are the worst time to cross. On Fridays the best time to cross back is 11 pm to 3 am. On Monday morning, the best time to cross is before 4 am. Otherwise it is a 2 to 4 hour line. The wait on Three day weekend lines is extremely long.
On more than one occasion, I was unfortunate enough to try and cross back at 8 am. Spent an hour in a non-moving line, wised up, turned around to go get breakfast and head back to HK, and saw a couple of guys do the same. So if one is stuck in line, I recommend extending one's vacation for 15 more hours and cross back Saturday night after 11 pm.

I hopped the blue line trolley to San Ysidro. Decided to exchange some dollars for pesos, went to the first Cambio booth I saw. I spent about 10 minutes in line to get into Mexico with the other gringos. Followed the crowd out to the cab stand. I passed up all the yellow cabs in the circle and got one on the street. Asked for the fare before I got in, was told US $5 to take me to the Hong Kong. Easy. Arrived in the Zona at roughly 4 pm local, I decided to check out a couple other bars before going into HK. AB was too dark to see anything, and too loud to hear. A brief stroll around the place and I moved on. Las Chavelas next, I found myself laughing out loud at the fat couple dancing to what must be Mexican Country music. So apropos in that setting. I could at least see the talent here. Not much enthusiasm on display apart from the large couple in front. Went out the back and walked around the block. Plenty of Street Chicas standing about. Walked into Tropical, they had a couple pretty girls at the door giving free shots to anyone. Nice contrast to the doormen at the other establishments. Inside was an uninspiring assortment of evidently uninterested girls. Back out the door, across the street and finally into HK. Frisked as I walked in, although so lightly it was strictly pro forma.

A large collection of normal (civie) clubs in downtown Tijuana is on 6th street, in the blocks adjacent to Revolution.

Yes, the girls in HK and Adelita, especially on the weekends, tend to be straight-up hookers. Adelita has been known as a fuck factory, but HK has caught up. Weekends tend to be very busy, some might say sausage fests, and the girls are there to make as much money as possible. I'm with you, and I'd rather take a bit more time and enjoy the experience.
As you speak Spanish you're way ahead of the game. Try the smaller bars and you'll generally find much less of the hard-core attitude. I do agree here. The "Pueblo Amigo" actually has a decent sports book and is a nice property. I stumbled upon that place about a year ago (my 2nd visit to Tijuana) and was fairly impressed. It is true that the Sports Book across from Cascadas is "grimy" (Is that how you spell it?) to say the least. But it is a way to get down on a game or a horse if need be. The location is pretty good if you are staying in the Zona. As for the Agua Caliente Casino, I have heard that is (by far and away), the nicest. Still, what I don't care for is the 3% tax they charge on winnings (sports and horse bets). Thus, you are laying -113 on straight bets essentially. That is miserable.

So working as a puta or for fichas is one of the few opportunities these women will have to live somewhat decently. The process:
Very simple, you present your boarding pass and CBX ticket, and entry into the Duty Free shopping area. Then up an escalator or elevator, then start walking to the airport. When you get to the airport, take the escalator or elevator down into Mxico Immigration. There, you present your passport / card, and Visa to one of the Mexican agents.
BTW, I was scolded for taking a picture in that area. Two of the female agents told me to erase the photo, but I honestly do not know how to delete just ONE photo, so they both tried, then they both gave up! They both told me, "Do not take any photos again!" I smiled and said, "Lo siento. " They let me off the hook.

Returning:

Well I have returned from my Tijuana cherry trip and the brief depression phase from routine life has set in. I had so much fun that I was looking at airfare for a future trip the night I returned home, the word addict comes to mind. I learned so much from the vets on this forum and want to try to give back at least some useful information. Although I can't match the writing style of my friend BeHeMoth, the Ernest Hemingway of ISG's Tijuana section as of late, hopefully I can provide some good stuff.
First off, I can't say enough about the convenience, location, and appeal about Cascadas. For someone new to Tijuana, I think it's an absolute must. Perhaps a bit more expensive than other accommodations, the extra cost is well worth it and depending on the days and length of your trip, a VIP card can significantly lower your average nightly hotel expenses. You truly are in the middle of all the action there.
I went down there thinking I would be at HK's exclusively and maybe try a couple SG's, however, this was not how things played out. The first bar woman I spent time with was Aileen from Las Chevelas. She was older than the average BG at HK's and didn't look as good but provided excellent service. I think I paid 700 or 800 pesos after I bought her a few fichas. Rooms rent on a monthly basis at the Leyva for around the equivalent of $400 per month. A better property, also owned by the Leyva family, is Hacienda de Santiago, where most of the rooms have kitchenettes, rent for around $100 or $150 more per month.

I have been hitting Tijuana for over 15 years but not much last 5 years as it has gone down hill. I travel the world, at least a couple of countries each year and I just use Tijuana as a pit stop between my trips around the world, to make sure all my body parts are in working condition. I do not even consider Tijuana a mongering destination as it is so limited. Only thing is that it is close (not too close for me) and sex is guaranteed.
Tijuana sure beats spending $10 K for a boring Europe tour, looking at churches and stores, eating rock-hard plain bread for breakfast, cardboard cheese-free pizza for lunch and plain spaghetti mixed with just olive oil, no meat, no tomato for dinner.Dude. Tijuana is a shit hole, with corrupt cops. If they didn't have cheep, legal hookers, with a good exchange rate, and accessible by walking across the border and a 5 minute cab ride for 5 dollars (find 1 of them in the states, LOL), why would we go there? The tacos are good, but. ?
I live on the east coast. Ill fly to San Diego, hang at the beach during the day. At night, hit the bars. Repeat 3 to 4 days. Not speaking much Spanish, and visiting once a yr, I find it hard to find a good combination of appearance and performance.
I'll also hit some of the islands, using the day beach, night club concept. Similar issues of chica selection, but sometimes easier to get recommendations, since girls work daily, on a multiple month contract. DR advantage is everything is OTC, so you're not banging to a timer, and tln is not expensive.
It's true the lack of reliable and high-speed internet in Tijuana is a drawback. It's the only major market that has not installed a fiber backbone. You can subscribe to Telcel for their tel and internet service for about $50 a month, getting about 1 Mbit per sec download speed, surfing via WIFI. I lived and worked in Asia for over 10 years. I still travel extensively in Asia and work with some of prettiest and sweetest girls and classiest women in Asia every day.

I am planning to take tram from San Diego airport to to the border and cross border walking and planning to take take yellow cab to the hotel in the action area.
1. Do we need car rental for mongering in Tijuana?
2. While going into Tijuana anybody checks passport or any immigration stamping happens?
3. Do we get LT girls in HK club or any like in Pattaya or only short time. And how's the rates for LT.
4. While coming back to US, I have read that we have to go through US custom and immigration. Can you please tell is this same place from where we entered by walking. I am asking because I wanted to check will taxi be able to drop me there for US immigration and from there can I walk to San Diego tram stop.

Thanks in advance.You won't need to rent a car to monger in Tijuana. You may get your passport inspected and stamped while entering Mexico. In order to avoid getting your passport stamped, instead get a passport card and use it at the border. Unlike Pattaya, Tijuana is geared toward S / T sessions. Few providers offer L / T arrangements. Prices vary greatly. When I'm in Tijuana, I'm mostly interested in 100 pesos BJs, so I'm not the best source for info on L / T arrangements with Tijuana providers. You can return to the United States at the same San Ysidro crossing you used to enter Mexico, just ask a Tijuana taxi driver to take you to "La Linea por cincuenta pesos".

2. Yes going in at San Ysidro as a ped. You must present a passport. However they may not always stamp it.
3. While the most common is short term. Long term seems to be more available based on becoming somewhat of a regular and if you are able to build some chemistry. Cost can very from free to a couple hundred.
4. Don't know about a tram. But if you are talking about the trolley. No need to worry when you exit the building you will be right at the trolley station.
