I have always driven into Mexico for the last 20 or so years. I've been going down there from SD for about the last 40 years on and off. The last time I walked over around 20 years ago no ID or anything was needed, you just walked right in. I'm thinking about trying a walk over when things settle down a bit with the virus. I have Sentri. Can I walk into Mexico with just a CA drivers license and my Sentri card or do I need to bring my passport? I do not have a passport card and would rather not bring my passport if not needed. Thanks in advance for any info on this.

Does anyone have info about whether any of the following are open or have a good chance of being open by the first week of July?
-Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT).
-Playas de Tijuana and / or Playas de Rosarito (beaches).
-Shops down and along Avenida Revolucion, in particular some of the breweries and the various souvenir shops. I know the breweries currently do to-go / carryout but I'm wondering about them opening up soon for dine-in. I understand venues that are strictly bars might not be open for a while but I wonder if it's different for cases where the bar serves food (so can technically be classified as a "restaurant" which is generally the case in the USA As bars that serve food have generally been allowed to open earlier in many states in the USA So don't know if it's the same in Mexico).
Looking to hang out down there the entire Independence Day weekend without having to cross back over into the USA (walking over by foot) so hopefully there are at least a few things to do / venues such as the above to patronize. So if anyone has info let me know.
I have heard most outdoor taco stands are operating per usual, including the one by HK.

Drove over for a day trip to Tijuana with a wingman Saturday afternoon, arriving about noon, planning for lunch and some fun with the girls. Very few cars and pedestrians were in San Ysidro and Tijuana on a Sat afternoon, about 5% normal in dry, sunny, warm, 78 F weather.
There were no immigration checking either sides of the border and virtually no policia presence in Tijuana. Parked the car at hotel Posada, formerly Leyva. Front desk wanted 615 pesos for single and 715 P for a double room for the weekend. Walked through the alley to the Cathedral's plaza. There were people on the streets but all restaurants only did take out. Restaurants in the trinket alley next to hotel Nelson were all closed. Again number of people on the streets were about 5% normal.
Went back to the school girl corner for shrimp coctele. The food carts all had police tape around them for distancing. We were advised to stay way. There were no stools to sit down. It was hard eating standing up. The vendors all looked worried and unhappy.
Went in Cascada's North lobby to check out HK girls. Half a dozen grumpy meseros were hanging out in front of the elevator. They were very careful confirming we were not undercover policia before inviting us into a small lounge with a small bar behind closed door. 4 girls were sitting on couches in a drab room with bright, flat lights. Looked like clients could order drinks and sit with girls but it felt weird in the small room with bright light and everyone looking in. The 4 girls looked very happy we came in but they looked older and unattractive so we just walked. HK's VIP desk declined to credit the VIP card for its closure in Mar, April and May. Everyone looked hungry and worried in HK's makeshift lounge.
Adelita / Coahuila hotel had no girl. Front desk guy said may be after 4 PM a few would show. All other bars were closed.
There were no pedestrians in the alley except us. About 30 to 40 girls were working in the alley, around the bar block and on Constitucion, some looked young and far more attractive than the 4 HK girls. Camilla and Edith were there along with half dozen regular girls near Cascada's back door. Half dozen girls were near hotel Garcia. Took Seides (upstairs. Mexico is a month behind in reopening and the US is barely reopening now, but are clubs reopened? Clubs are the last to reopen. I don't have the website on hand but the local Tijuana website posted their plan and clubs are absolutely last to reopen and Tijuana is in their early stages. Last time I read the hospitals in Tijuana were still at capacity and there were 573 active cases right before June. Let me ask you something too. If HK was able to reopen soon like June 15 why have they not advertised on their instagram. They would instantly do it. Again, the best source of information is straight from the local Tijuana government. Businesses find out the same time as the public when reopening occurs. From what you guys that go over there now have to said it could be any time from next week through September, I had 3 sanctioned fights cancelled over this and have only 2 more masters events left in September and October for the year, so I won't be going back there until October anyways. I usually start going back in July every year until the end of the year. At least when I go this year I will have a little extra money to spend. Please keep your eyes and ears open and I will check with my friend in Rosarito as well. If I get anything firm from her I will post it on this forum.

I went to stores and markets full of Mexican shoppers frequently for 3 months but tested CoVid negative last week. I was hoping to test positive with anti bodies so I have immunity. Finally I figure if I did not catch it with Mexicans in SoCal I won't catch it in Tijuana. I was tested in good heath so I think I will just blow the virus out of my system like a few other bros.

Someone posted this video on the CB website Saturday which has a lot of local Tijuana mongers on it. As you can see it seems like business as usual but the bars are closed. Most girls not wearing masks. People talking to each other face to face with no mask. A total shit show.

Interesting comment about strong immune systems. I was looking at India and what their population is and how few people have died or gotten sick. It's crazy that they have not had more deaths and I would think it's in part due to their immune system. Any people who can bathe in the Ganges river and not get sick. Can handle Corona.
As the vast majority of these girls are young and developed strong immune systems by the nature of their work. Most of them would be asymptomatic, had they caught the virus. If there is indeed a wide scale communal spread in Tijuana. The street girls would have almost certainly already been infected / recovered by now, and developed anti-bodies.

I was in La Zona last Sat. Few pepel on the street. Everything is nice, quiet. You should have no problem. If you have problems, go in hotel Cascada lobby where there are HK meseros, or any hotel. They will protect you or help you figure a way out.
All hotels in La Zona allow visitors. You should stay in a hotel in the alley, where bar girls and street girls hang out. Hotel Cascada on Coahuila is convenient if you want to pick up HK and street girls, but it's pricey, like $60 for a single. Lots of girls hang out in front of hotel Mini, on top of bar Capirucha in the middle of the alley. It has sparse rooms but with large wall mirrors for cheap. Girls like to watch their own porn and get turn on red hot. Hotel Edouardo has lots of street girls hanging out in front. Rates are cheap.
If you drive over, Posada hotel next to Chicago club, fairly clean, has singles for about $30, including free secured parking.
Stay away from and don't talk to the few drug dealers in the alley, mumbling "Cuanto, cuanto. " They may cause problems. Girls in La Zona are easy to deal with. They will show you how to have a good, sexy time. La Zona is safer than downtown San Diego. Stay in the bar block and you will be safe. There is no secret place with the hottest SGs. All of the SGs you'll be interested in are concentrated in the little alley called Callejon Coahuila. There are others scattered along Constitucion, although they tend to cater more to local tastes. The few you might find on Ninos Heroes are probably best avoided. Outside of the Zona Norte, aka The Zone of Tolerance, it is illegal for a lady to stand on the street and solicit business.
All of the SGs stand in front of "their" hotel. That is the hotel they use. *Some* will walk with you if you have a room at Cascadas (the one appended to Hong Kong), or Hotel Coahuila (appended to Adelita), or maybe Rizo de Oro (appended to Tropical). But they are often the minority. There are many reasons one won't go to another hotel, and that's a discussion for another time.
There are NO hotels outside of the Zona Norte where you can drag street girls. They won't go. The SG scene is pretty much a wham, bam, thank you Ma'am kind of experience.
Do NOT confuse the Paraditas, aka SGs, with their SW (streetwalker) counterparts. A SW in Tijuana is a drug-addicted girl with no place to stand on the wall, and no health papers, and possibly living in Tijuana illegally. You really want no part of that for your first trip.

SGs won't usually accompany you to an outside hotel -- most of them prefer to use the hotel they stand in front of, although some will go to other hotels in the Zona. It's almost unheard of for a SG to accompany you to a hotel outside of the Zona. If you don't want to stay at a Zona hotel, just get a room at whatever hotel you like and pay the extra $6 to use the street girl's room.
The "hot spots" for street girls are the alley behind Coahuila, and the streets perpendicular to it (Constitution and Ninos Heroes). Venturing past that gets you bottom-barrel women, and then trans-women.

It's a few blocks long / wide, not sure exactly where the borders are, but that is irrelevant because you should not be venturing out of the "block" where HK is located and it's immediate vicinity. There are "SG's" who are pimped and assigned a specific spot to stand. Then there are "SW's" who are freelancers and roam as they please. Most are drug-addicted Americanas.
Then there are girls who work inside the bars. But the bars are "closed" so they work inside the associated hotels. Cascadas and Rizo de Oro have lounges or converted penthouses they use as puta bars. Cascadas I don't know if they serve drinks. I haven't seen it but I only visited two nights. Rizo definitely does.
If you're asking about street girls, I imagine that you're more of a budget monger and not as interested in the higher-priced BG's. SW will pretty much go to any hotel around the block they are not banned from. SG's are assigned a hotel but many will go to other hotels in the vicinity such as Cascadas, sometimes for a nominal fee.
Right now, as you might guess pickings are slim. On any given weeknight there may be 35 or so SG's available. So just keep that in mind. If you need more help pay the upgrade fee to get PM access.
If you are mainly interested in just street girls, I would recommend La Caretta Hotel. It's somewhat modern, only about 5 years old or so. It's located right in the heart of the alley. I'm guessing price is around $30/ night. If you are interested in lounging, having a few drinks and having BG's available, I would recommend Rizo de Oro. Cost is maybe $50/ night.

You'll find nothing north of the border for under $1600/ month and that will be a dive shithole. Figure around $3 K / month for anything decent.
That leaves Tijuana. There are small, unfurnished Studio and 1 BR rentals available for under $500 near Rosarito, and, of course, in the further-flung areas of Tijuana. None will be built to "American standards. " Very few will be in a gated community, although some may have security. Nicer apartments and condos, in nicer areas like Zona Rio, will run at least $1 K / month, although that may include furniture.
I think you need to reevaluate your budget and do more research. Craigslist is a good resource for gauging the prices of rentals in Tijuana.

Previously, I've just bought pesos with cash at exchange places on Revolucion; however, I've read (on this forum I think) that it is better to get pesos from an ATM on the US side of the border.

Is there a FAQ about buying pesos / ATM's in Tijuana / San Ysidro. ?
Previously, I've just bought pesos with cash at exchange places on Revolucion; however, I've read (on this forum I think) that it is better to get pesos from an ATM on the US side of the border.
Do the bank ATM's near PedWest spew out pesos, or just the private ATM's near PedEast?
What is the approximate difference in rates?

Take a 20 to another window. You need small bills in mexico people don't do change like in USA. 500 pesso is tough to get rid of. Even hotels I owed 500 pesos to did t want it. The difference of each place is fairly minimal to be worried about. But more bang for the buck on USA side. But near hk is a place 500 feet away and if you just grabbing 100 bucks it's no big deal difference wise.

She proceeded to LOS Amigos bar next to her house. They informed her that bars are supposed to open tomorrow including LOS Amigos. So hopefully the bars that opened jumped the gun by 2 days. I would recommend boots on the ground next weekend for verification.

I was planning on crossing the border on Wednesday, taking a taxi to Playa's, and spending a few nights and don't want any hassles.

I've gotten pesos from 15 to 20 different ATM machines. All were located in Mexico (that dispensed dollar & pesos). I haven't run into an ATM in the United States that dispensed anything other than US currency (although some might exist).
Why don't you check back on your reading since you seem to be so certain?

Personally, I cross into Tijuana with left over pesos from the last trip. Then, I use my CS card in the ATMs in HK or the hotel. Always a better rate.

I'm constantly calculating the marginal differences in rates or costs of goods. It probably occupies 30% of my brain (you know, the "discounted", king size bad of potato chips is actually more expensive per ounce than the small size. What a time waste).

Thanks.As of this writing there are none on 1 D or Via Rapida. Checkpoints seem to be sporadic. I've driven through them on D1 at the toll past Playas on the way to Rosarito, and very late at night / early morning on the auxiliary road that feeds and exits Via Rapida. This is due to traffic. If you make good eye contact you're likely OK as they're looking for drinkers and sick people. A little Visine goes a long way.

I'm afraid its hopeless until a vaccine is here. A bar opened in Florida Jacksonville and almost all workers and 16 friends got sick. Saw on google today. Bars are probably the biggest problem. I guess hk is a little better with less conversation amongst friends but right now it looks like the bar scene in all countries will not be returning for years unless a vaccine shows up.

So if you get this hotel, you really can't be taking a street girl for a walk to this place. Most wouldn't go anyway. For this guys situation, he should go get hotel ticuan, or hotel nelson, and do escorts, and then pay the room rate for the street girls. Right now, if it was me, ID stick to escorts at adelitas, if you can find one that will go. But it can be hard. ID be a little worried to be seen in tiijuana with escorts at most hotels right now if I'm new, not from mexico, etc. So actually the more I think about it, right now, to avoid legal issues, as a newbie, ID just go to hotel cascadas and stick to whatever woman are still in that hotel.

The World is not ready for a major epidemic, and I'm classifying Covid as a moderate epidemic at the most. Though the response was major and the economic & social fallout could be pretty significant. I.
The data for significant illness is under 2% now and the death rate is probably 1% or slightly lower worlwide. Though the numbers were quite a bit higher for people that got hit earlier on.
The scale from severe illness & death is nothing close to the 1918 flu or the plagues of middle ages Europe. If a really severe disease becomes widespread the entire global economy will collapse. I am talking 90%+ unemployment, massive crime, starvation and generally mass chaos.
You will need to move to some remote tropical location where you can put pick fruit from native plants or get a bunker or remote "in the woods" outpost and stock up on years worth of food & supplies. You should max out all your credit cards at this time and from now until then try to get as much credit and money resources as possible. No need to worry about repayment of credit score impact as the entire financial system will have collapsed. There would probably be a new currency anyway and all the Financial systems would have to restart from 0.
People are doing so much damage to their bodies with obesity from years of bad diet, smoking, drugs. Both illegal and legal and generally way too much stress. The death rate would be 0. 1% if people kept themselves healthy.
The massive overreaction and halfass measures have let me realize you will need to live off grid whenever the major one hits.

Does the border patrol agents take that seriously?A USA Citizen or permanent resident can still easily cross both ways with minimal hassle. Not much different than before. Getting back into the USA Is no issue at all. Going into Mexico can potentially be an issue, but likely not. Driving into Tijuana is less hassle as the chances of you being recognized as a gringo and questioned is exponentially less than walking in where you are automatically stopped and questioned and asked for you documents. Just tell them you're going to the dentist and you should be fine.

There are a handful of independent liquor stores that offer beer at inflated prices, usually about $400 mx for a 12 pack. People are selling beer on Facebook Marketplace, although I would imagine selling alcohol violates the terms of use. Ads usually don't contain the word "cervesa" which is likely a term that will raise a flag. They just put up a pic of a 12 pack on their ad and don't write a description. Prices again are in the $400 mx range for a 12 pack. Before the crisis, I used to buy 12 packs of Bud Light at Ley for $92 mx and Calimax / Soriana for around $110 mx. Some major retailers like Calimax and 711 get in sporadic shipments of beer, and when they do people share with their friends on social media the location, which causes people to flock to that particular store and empty out the shelves pretty quick.
The legal limit to import into Mexico is 6 liters, which is about 17 beers. Whenever I cross, I usually bring a 30 or 36 pack with me. So far I haven't been stopped. An effective strategy for passing the motorist line without getting stopped is to find another vehicle crossing that is large like a van, large SUV, pickup truck with a full payload or even a normal vehicle that is packed to the brim or weighed down. Then get near it as you approach the inspection area, either behind, in front, or next to. The chances of you getting stopped diminish dramatically if you cross in close proximity to a "juicy" vehicle.

I believe this is Tijuanas future. Close down revolution and the alley and the street in front of hk. Put the music outside, the church next to hk god bless them. Have the woman all prancing around outside, put some stripper poles outside. Hey it works in Mardi gras, the streets are more fun than the bars in new orleans. Her report is as follows. In Rosarito you can open your bar if you pay the authorities $1,000 American dollars. A bar called LOS Amigos in Rosarito did just that and has opened. She went there "undercover" on Thursday night and they had a band. She said the bar stools were removed and you needed a mask to get in but then you can take it off once your seated. It sounds to me like they are shadowing San Diego policy with the exception of the money to open. When I asked her about Tijuana she said she believed they would have their own policy because of a different mayor. I do not feel this operative can provide anymore input for us so I thanked her and told her cease any future surveillance.

The reason was to both avoid damage of passport in my pocket at hk and everywhere else in tijuana and also to stop filling it with stamps. No matter how much I begged 90% of the time they insisted on stamps. Only when I went with a girl did they allow no stamp. They insisted I was going to hk. Sometimes I was just going to a hotel to save $. Often I paid the now 24 dollars about, for the 6 month visa but that still gets stamped once and sometimes I don't want to pay for the visa if I'm leaving San Diego soon. Now I'll have to wait in line but it may be few years till I'm going back to hk unfortunately I don't think any vaccine is comming.

Ticuan is really nice and the shower is worth every penny and is the reason I quit HK CC Adelitas, because you just can't beat calling a girl there and showering together and everyone is clean in a large beautiful room for 1 hour at 75 bucks.

My old passport expired in October 2020, I applied after a trip to Cancun in February because I was planning a trip to Europe this summer. I also have Global Entry and I updated my information with my new passport number today. I am ready to go as soon as the borders open. Driving over is quick and effortless. I have been driving over 4 times since the CoVid shutdown. Traffic is lighter than before. Was never checked for paper or anything at the El Chaparral check point or anywhere in Tijuana. I also drove all over downtown and Zona Rio last week with no one impeding.
Drove over with a wingman Sat July 4. Got to La Zona quickly about 3 PM, parked in HK's covered lot on Constitucion, only 26 pesos an hour and 120 pesos for 6 hours. With the high parking costs in San Ysidro, I don't understand why the bros just won't drive over, much quicker and cheaper than walking.

You can buy one at the airport and if you are going to CDMX, you are supposed to have one. The last time I left (2 weeks ago), they were also checking on departures, so you'll be forced to buy one. There is a kiosk there in the airport to buy them.

As you know, all bars, restaurants and strip clubs in Tijuana are shut down. Tijuana is not as much fun as before, but the rest of the mongering world is also shut down. So you just have to make the best of what is available in this pandemic.

Then you get on the bus and they do drive you about half a mile and it does drop you off at the front of the line. When I did it, basically it formed its own line. At the time, there was still a general lane, ready lane and then this 3rd bus line. When it was time to let people in, CBP would alternate between the three lines.
Did it save me time? Not much, if any. But the man (gringo) that told me about it swears by it. I never did take it again. You pick it up near a parking lot. I don't know the name of the road. But if you walk into Tijuana from PedEast, walk to Farmacia Milenio, and keep walking about a quarter mile past that, it's there on the left. The buses used to be branded as Ticketron, if I remember correctly.

Your question was clear. When there are long lines at Ped East, there is sometimes, not always, a person that walks around near the end of the long line, offering a bus / van ride to the front of the line. It can be 5, 6, 7 bucks.
Sometimes, it is a great deal for some, while others end up sitting in the damn bus / van for a long time, and in the heat, it sucks (so I heard).
Disclaimer, I never used the service because I've always had Sentri. But I do know several others that used the service and they have mixed reviews.
