Flights from New Jersey to San Diego 26 dollars a week out. Nobody is flying I guess and airlinesnforced to fly a minimum for their free money. In order for something like this to work, it will take the cooperation of all mongers to create a knowledge base of sorts that will out the scammers and keep the rest honest. For your part, it would require you to complete as short a form as humanly possible (mainly checkboxes) after you session with a chica and that data can be then published for all to review. I can get most of the escort data, but the SWs, SGs and BGs would be basically from scratch. And It will be a monger-friendly site: no charge ever and no ads (I do have a revenue model in mind that would probably be enough to maintain the site, but it does not involve mongers). After a review is published, the chica will be notified (if possible based on phone # or email) and given a chance to respond to the review.

Most of the boards I belong to have an annual fee which is waived if you post reviews -- so there is at least some incentive. Without that, I don't see guys actually posting anything.

Davis.I've been a germaphobe for few years. Cascadas and tropical hotels had similar rooms, similar sheets which were much better than Coachela. If you look at sheets in these hotels theres all kinds of stains but cauholla is much worse. Sometimes I don't know if the sheets are stained or just not changed from prior person. I ask for at least 1 new sheet. 90% ofbthe time I bring my own sheet as well own travel towell and pillow case and flip flops. Both hotels are acceptable. I've been in some tiny hotels in the area with girls who I knew well on their day off and the places were a disaster. Chicago hotel I did not like nor the 1 next to it. Izbiza looks ok but probably to claustrophobic to sleep in for me. My 1st times in tijuana I stayed up the block above the pharmacist for 12 dollars I was shocked when I woke up alive haha. The lowest bill for a root canal in So Cal would cost $500 cash min. Liberty Dental Clinic quoted $300 but agreed to do it for $200 a couple years ago, or 2,500 pesos with exchange rate of 12:1. Paying with pesos using 20:1 rate now, it would cost about $125. Abel is the office manager, speaking English. Try to work a deal with him. I put the charge on my CC, so got a good exchange rate. Have no idea what hours they open during CoVid lock down.
The office is pretty nice, clean modern with 2 dentists. I had a toothache and walked into the office at 9 AM on a Saturday. They were able to start on me quickly. The dentist was a nice, clean, personable, seemed very competent guy. They had real-time X-ray imaging machine so they could inspect the tooth in real time while drilling and extracting all the nerves. The guy was efficient and confident. He did a better job than my regular dentist using the old X-ray films.

A few prominent dental clinics in Tijuana quoted $500 for the root canal then another $500 or so for the crown. And yes, they said the crowns come from San Diego.
That's why Liberty Dental Clinic on Benito Juarez is a good place with nice, clean, competent dentists, flexible hours and excellent prices.

Vietnam is closed for travelers. The Philippines is closed to all foreign travelers right now. Citizens and residents are allowed back but subject to 14-day quarantine. Tough luck if they would open up by Thanksgiving. I don't know any decent mongering country still open to visitors.

Some of the people made it, some didn't, some new people showed up, and everyones rooms are all mixed together, your kitchen is in someone elses apartment your living room is in the other apartment, and another tornado is comming every day. Noth iij ng is reliable or consistent.
Maybe it's time for a trip to good old Tijuana again.

I visited the Zona a handful of days this past week. Most of what I write here will reflect the weekend experience.
I have zero interested in SG so this will be brief. They're out there still in decent numbers considering what's going on. I'd say 60%-70% of usual capacity. The weekends were closer to 70%.
Chicago Club: Parts of Hotel Jalos have been converted to a makeshift bar. Prices were $4/ beer and $9 ficha, which are $1 more than normal. There were a couple rooms that appeared to be former suites that were larger than normal quarters. One room had a stripper pole and DJ. It was very dark in there and you could barely see the chicas. I'd say maybe 12-15 in that room. There were a handful of other regular small rooms available for lounging. But you kinda feel uncomfortable going into a small room with a bed in it if there are already other mongers present. You feel like you are intruding in their private room. But of course it's not their private room but it just feels like it. I didn't feel comfortable doing anything more than poking my head in to take a look. The corridor on the lower floor was lined with chicas sitting in seats. Maybe 20-25 seated there. And another 35-45 scattered throughout the rooms above. Quality was dismal. CC normally would only have 2-3 hot girls working on any given night. Didn't see anyone I'd rate above a 6.
Adelita Bar's Hotel Coahuila was converted to a makeshift bar just like Chicago Club. Except AB's layout was worse. There were no large suites opened up. Just maybe 15-20 small rooms with beds. Again, felt very uncomfortable barging into a small room that was already occupied. The corridors outside the rooms were lined with many chicas. At least 45. Overall I'd say maybe 80 chicas present. None in the corridors were hot. And I didn't go peeking inside every room so I don't know if any decent chicas were available.
Tropical Bar's Rizo de Oro, as many of you already know, converted their suites into bars. The suites are roomy enough that you don't feel uncomfortable barging in. Beers were $3 which is $1 more than usual. Fichas were $8 or $160 mx which is normal price. Rizo had the least amount of chicas out of any of 4 major hotels that were open. But it was definitely more comfortable to hang out and relax because it actually felt somewhat like a normal bar with tables and chairs and no bed. Also, it wasn't near as dark as CC or AB so you could get a good like at the girls. Overall I didn't see anything that met my standards but it was still a cool spot to just relax and have a drink.
Hong Kong's Hotel Cascadas was open for business. The penthouses on the 7th floor were converted to bars. There were a few mini tables in the corridors as well that were occupied by chicas. I'd say maybe 100-120 chicas present with a handful of pretty hot ones. One was a heavily tatted blonde who spoke fluent English. Said she used to live in Houston. Her near-perfect body only diminished by silicon tits and tattoo ink. I've never seen her before pre-covid but she knows how to lure guys arriba. She's definitely high mileage as she's quite talented in her craft. There were a few other hot chicas but didn't get their names. Management had left the beds in the penthouses and there were chicas just laying on them, being lazy and playing on their phones. One chica I'm pretty sure was actually sleeping. There was this one dude I see almost every time I go to the Zona, who resembles a famous recording artist. Anyhow, this dude got on the bed and tried to sweet talk this young flaquita but the chica literally didn't remove her gaze from her phone the whole 10 minutes he tried to talk to her. Felt bad for the dude. He thought he was all smooth but the chica wouldn't even glance at him. It was like talking to a statue.
I recognized a handful of chicas. There was Marlen. And the chica with the fake tits and ass who's face looked like Ariana Grande. Her hair is now dyed florescent green and doesn't look anywhere near as good as before. The retarded puta was there, but wearing jeans and normal civie clothes. I saw Sasha dancing with some dude in one of the rooms. At times there was a DeWalt dildo show in one of the jacuzzi's.
So for those of you that are contemplating a trip, here is what you need to know. There is absolutely no social distancing practiced anywhere inside the bars. Just about all meseros and workers wear facemasks. I didn't see a single bar chica wearing a mask although some SG's do wear masks. The bars are a basically a covid petri dish. A crowd of strangers who are accustomed to a high-risk (healthwise) lifestyle, indoors, in close proximity to each other, many of whom are intoxicated, is the optimal breeding ground for the virus. Just keep that in mind. I don't have any doubt at all that the virus has been spreading inside the bars. All it takes is one infected person sneezing to infect 25. If you're in the high-risk category for covid, just give it a good thought before making a decision.
Booked my ticket! I'll be coming down next Thursday for the first time, if anyone will be down there same time and wants to meet up for a drink let me know.
Made another trip, was not fun like Saturday. Won't return till the bars open. The way things change who knows what the current price is. I have driven into Tijuana before so might do that, but was wanting to compare cost of car insurance vs parking for a couple nights and walking over. I know the big lot is pricey. Wow. Clam risked himself and really came through for the bros with his detailed report on the current operating modes of La Zona's bars.
I went into the clubs a few times on weekends in day time and found very few girls and virtually no guys. In all 4 major bars I did not find any girls attractive enough to spend time with. I felt the fun and sexy factors were just not there, and definitely not worth the risks of picking up infection even with very few people in the bars.
100-120 girls with a few hot ones partying in HK is very exciting, but partying in cramped bedrooms just feels awkward to me. I usually use dollars, but this time going to put my Schwab card to good use and withdrawal pesos, what's the usual limit on the ATM machines? I do plan to make multiple withdrawals, but not all on one day as it may raise a fraud alert (happened to me before in Colombia and Brazil, was burning through cash, but well worth it!) I’ll still have dollars as backup of course. thanks.
Yes Cap! This makes so much sense to close down Coahuila and turn it into a pedestrian street. Hell they can do it in Little Italy in San Diego.
Coahuila is Perfect to shut down as there is no "essential" traffic that needs to go thru the alley.
The one problem is you will have competing sound systems that could be a nightmare. But they should at least try this on a small scale. If anyone should have pull to do this it would be those who own these clubs!!

I visited the Zona a handful of days this past week. Most of what I write here will reflect the weekend experience.
I have zero interested in SG so this will be brief. They're out there still in decent numbers considering what's going on. I'd say 60%-70% of usual capacity. The weekends were closer to 70%.
Chicago Club: Parts of Hotel Jalos have been converted to a makeshift bar. Prices were $4/ beer and $9 ficha, which are $1 more than normal. There were a couple rooms that appeared to be former suites that were larger than normal quarters. One room had a stripper pole and DJ. It was very dark in there and you could barely see the chicas. I'd say maybe 12-15 in that room. There were a handful of other regular small rooms available for lounging. But you kinda feel uncomfortable going into a small room with a bed in it if there are already other mongers present. You feel like you are intruding in their private room. But of course it's not their private room but it just feels like it. I didn't feel comfortable doing anything more than poking my head in to take a look. The corridor on the lower floor was lined with chicas sitting in seats. Maybe 20-25 seated there. And another 35-45 scattered throughout the rooms above. Quality was dismal. CC normally would only have 2-3 hot girls working on any given night. Didn't see anyone I'd rate above a 6.
Adelita Bar's Hotel Coahuila was converted to a makeshift bar just like Chicago Club. Except AB's layout was worse. There were no large suites opened up. Just maybe 15-20 small rooms with beds. Again, felt very uncomfortable barging into a small room that was already occupied..
Ah. Guess I am not surprised but that's probably why their numbers are low.
Vietnam is closed for travelers. The Philippines is closed to all foreign travelers right now. Citizens and residents are allowed back but subject to 14-day quarantine. Tough luck if they would open up by Thanksgiving. I don't know any decent mongering country still open to visitors.

I have been searching google and the forum but I was hoping to get accurate pricing info for the paid parking lot behind jack in the box at San Ysidro border. The way things change who knows what the current price is. I have driven into Tijuana before so might do that, but was wanting to compare cost of car insurance vs parking for a couple nights and walking over. I know the big lot is pricey. I paid about $100 for a couple of nights recently and I'm hoping to avoid that scenario again, if possible. The card is good to go, just would like to know which ATM spots allow the highest withdrawal and usually what is the maximum amount? So I can gauge how many times I'll need to hit up the ATMs during my stay. I'll be in Hotel Ticuan, so I'm going to assume there's an ATM near there or on site.

Tijanua was on my to do list even before the pandemic, and it is even higher on my list now simply because there are no other options available to me. I read in the recent posts here that a lot of guys are coming to Tijuana from the East Coast for similar reasons.
I have two questions pursuant to this goal:
1) Those of you that have been able to cross the border despite the official closure of the border to non-essential traffic. Were you on a day trip from Southern California, or did you have luggage with you for an overnight or extended stay? I understand that a lot of guys have been getting across by claiming that they have medical appointments, but I am wondering how credible such a claim would be if someone from New York shows up with luggage for a longer trip.
2) As you may have read, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut are requiring people flying in from California and other states with high COVID-19 infection rates to quarantine themselves. What if any options are there to fly to and from Tijuana via Mexico City or other Mexican airports? Aeromexico is an option from New York, but the flights are ridiculously expensive. Viva Aerobus is another option at a more reasonable price, but it would require me to overnight in Mexico City in both directions.

But since people keep writing about it, yeah Saturday ideas drinking so I was able to set aside coronavirus fears. I'll probably die if I get it due to health issues. But I spent like an hour half in the clubs not getting sick yet. If you are coming from that far you could possibly make a dentist appt online then print out the email confirmation just as a back -up. I seriously doubt that you would be denied entrance with a formal appt confirmation. It wouldn't hurt to do the same for the hotel reservation. Just as a back up.
And while you are at it, it wouldn't hurt to have an affordable teeth cleaning done.
You can find several dentists online and email them. Many will respond in english.

Frontier and Spirit are flying from NYC to San Diego for around $100 RT. It takes about 8 hour 1 way with stop over in Denver or Las Vegas, very good deals.
Crossing the border with your Gucci luggage may attract attention, but lots of people go to work or school everyday with their large back packs. Back pack would not attract too much attention. Mexican Immigration would not care what you do in Tijuana, but if they ask, just tell them you have dental implants that need about 1 week of work.
Renting a car may require a long wait to cross the border back, like 3 to 4 hours even late night at 2 or 3 AM. The car lanes are unpredictable. Most nights it's 3 to 4 hours, some nights there are no cars waiting.

I have never had to do a FMM for Tijuana, Ensenada etc. Only if you go way south of the border are you required I believe.
For Tijuana I normally fill out the FMM online through the following link as then you don't need to fill it out there waiting for others before you etc. The crossing is called El Chapparal.

Just like the police let people sell medical passes to walk back to USA cut line. That turns a 45 minute line into almost 2 hours if you don't pay. If one er get a passport I'll have to get Sentri soon after before I get into a fight because if someone cuts the line, being from the east coast of usa, it's a problem and will lead to a fight. But the whole mexican line is cutting. People just walk and find someone they know and cut you. Medical pass cutters. Sentri. Its a bad situation right now with the border trying to get back. Don't return in the morning expecting to catch a flight it could be 2 hours and if something goes wrong could turn to 3 hpurs.

My question is, will I have any problems trying to cross back into the USA? It will probably look suspicious if I fly there from Ohio for a "doctor appointment" and stay there for 7 days. Do you think the USA Border officers will give me a difficult time when I try to cross back into the USA? Or will they not make a big deal about it?

Nobody has reports on zona this weekend? Landed in TIJ from MTY around 6 pm, Central time zone 8 pm for me. Upon exiting the airport, got bamboozled by airport agent collecting my permit on arrival. Damnit this is a stopover, I'm not leaving Mex!
Hindsight what I should've done but didn't: Take Uber to nearest land aduana and apply for a new 7 day permit.
Ordered Uber at arrivals area, first 2 drivers asked and canceled on me deciding trip was too short for their time. Third driver showed up, took me to Hotel Pacific for staging purposes, $22 for the night. Got freshened up, made a fuss on ISG about permit snafu, got another Uber and arrived in Zona Norte around 8:30 pm. Took a few laps around the blocks seeing available street prospects. Tried to peek inside Hong Kong, but staff said weeknights during Covid, clubs close at 9 pm, action shifts to attached hotels. Peeked inside one. Scoped out one girl, got quote of $80, looked around some more and left.
First session was a decent looking half-asian looking street girl. On entry, staff had me scan for temperature and wipe with hand sanitizer. It was down to the wire, and I swear what few screens in first hallway said go to Gate 5, so after XRays, I jog to Gate 5 on the right tip end of a horseshoe formation, get there and either read screen wrong or they flat out lied, VivaBus to CDMX was now at Gate 9 on the midway to left horseshoe. Conveniently PA announced final boarding call for my flight, I ran until I flat out ran out of oxygen.
The next time I fly in or out of TIJ will be too soon.

Yeah I don't really remember the exact details since I was pretty drunk and my Spanish is pretty bad. It definitely felt pretty scammy at the time with them charging 30 $ for the room or 50 $ for 5 fichas and a free room. I went with the 50 $ for fichas and free room cause it sounded like a much better deal but I'm definitely real happy with my decision. Oops. Had a 6 month pass with still 10 days remaining, only needed 4. Upon Bus entry into Nuevo Laredo, all foreigners apply for a land entry permit. What I didn't know is it costs $0. 00. What my dumb self did was flaunt my exisiting permit saying "no need officer" but they swiped it and replaced it. If I had said nothing, I could've had 2 permits, given TIJ arrivals staff 1 and no $ damage. Oh well, hindsight 20/20 in 2020.
Again if I had done more research, landing at TIJ, instead of Uber direct to hotel, should have taken an Uber to border aduana, give a faux bus ride story and get a new 7 day permit for $0. 00, get a new Uber onward to hotel and voila.
I accidentally stumbled onto airfare to Central / South America being crazy bargained vs USA a little over a year ago. Wrote a trip report on flights to Buenos Aries EZE out of DFW, IAH, AUS or SAT would run $1400-1500 ouch. That same time frame, catch a bus to Monterrey to fly MTY-EZE, it was $645 total. Any readers thinking of infiltrating Latin America via Mexico by flying out of TIJ / MEX / GDL / MTY? You are responsible to have a permit in hand when you report to origin Mexican Airport departures hall. Apply for permit at a land entry, that will save headaches. For international roundtrips flying in and out of Mexico, the return flight back to Mexico, the permit fee (about $25 usd) is already included in the fare when you booked the flight. (it adds this fee automatically on the booking screen the instant you blurt "I'm not a Mexican". You will be issued the permit in the returning plane's cabin.

Arrived in La Zona 4 PM. There were probably 80 -100 street girls in the alley and surrounding streets.
Hotels Cascada, Rizzo de Oro, Coahuila, Jalos were shut down by authorities with suspension seals on doors. That means no more clandestine parties. Ibiza, Garcia and the small ST hotels are open. Suspended hotels would pay fines, make a few big promises, then they would likely reopen in 2 weeks.
The bros heading for Cascada should get rooms in Ibiza, owned by and has the same quality as Cascada.

Only the major hotels with clandestine chubs were raided and shutdown: Cascada, Rizzo, Coahuila, jalos. Ibiza did not party and was not raided, still open for business as of Wed, Garcia had the front door sealed, but the side door was open.

I was in the Zona Monday night until 5 am Tuesday morning. The hotels were up and running as usual so the raids must have taken place on Tuesday, not Monday. First stop was AB and honestly I don't remember a thing about it. Next was TB and there weren't very many chicas. Maybe 25. Nothing above a 6. Same thing with CC except that there were slightly more girls, maybe 35. The blue haired one wasn't there. She looks decent from far away but she has aged badly for being so young. First time, long time. After months of not returning to Tijuana, I finally built up the courage to go for a short trip. I live in the SD area, drove to the border and parked in a paid lot per usual. I went during the week, but traffic wasn't bad and plenty of parking. Walked across, line was short to get in. They asked how long I'll be visiting, usual stuff. Uber driver's over there all wear masks and seem to be following guidelines. Didn't go to the ZN, just downtown. Most restaurants were open with outdoor seating and social distancing. Not much different other than bars being closed. Crossing back was just as easy. No line, asked what my nature of my visit; said Dentist appointment. They let me go right ahead. If anyone's having any doubts about the logistics of visiting Tijuana, it seems like its business as usual, at least when crossing on foot.
P.S. Exchange rate is pretty good, its a shade over 20:1.

MEXICALI, BC. - The reopening of the bars will begin this weekend in Tijuana, only in some hotels and under a trial scheme, revealed the Ministry of Sustainable Economy and Tourism (SEST), in an interview with El IMPARCIAL.
Mario Escobedo Carignan commented that the reopening will apply later in the rest of the municipalities in which their mayors agree, as long as the bars demonstrate the design and application of their health and safety protocol.

Tijuana (Border Report) — Baja California officials claim it will be extremely difficult to allow bars and nightclubs in the city to reopen in the near future.
In recent days many bar owners have pushed to get their businesses open again.
"Until all these clubs finalize and put in place hygiene protocols it's going to be difficult," said David Gutierrez, head of Baja California's Health Risk Protection Commission. "When someone is in a frenzy, one doesn't reason or think, that's why we need to be very careful with all this stuff about opening when we're in no condition to open yet."
On Monday, more than a thousand bar and nightclub workers staged a demonstration in downtown Tijuana demanding they be allowed to return to work, many claiming they haven't drawn a salary in months. More than 80 bars and nightclubs have petitioned the state for permission to open, saying they have complied with demands to institute health protocols.
But the vetting process takes time and most establishments have yet to be inspected.
"I'm worried about places that sell alcohol, where many people gather to eat and drink where there's a lot of human contact and interaction," Gutierrez said.
Gutierrez mentioned one of his inspectors received a death threat during a recent inspection.
"It's irritating and uncomfortable knowing a death threat was issued to one of your inspectors who was told he will be dead when the sun rises," he said.
Gutierrez did not single out the business nor the person who allegedly made the death threat. All he would say is that it happened in the Zona Norte, a part of town known for its strip joints and brothels.
"We've been told an apology is forthcoming. In the heat of the moment, sometimes you tend to say things, sadly what comes out of someone's mouth is hard to take back," said Gutierrez.

Then I told him the birders open and you can go in with no passport and pay 20 dollar fee. I never seen a 65 year old man so happy, he just got paid 10 grand of unemployment backpay. He was headed to Tijuana next day with his money. He had a lot good stories all the woman he bangs in Tijuana, many just normal store workers hotel workers. I am definitely an advocate for Tijuana even if I'm critical as well.

My first trip to Tijuana was a satisfying experience, despite the sub-optimal circumstances of the pandemic and some major downsides of the Tijuana scene that predate it. The most redeeming features of Tijuana for me were: the relative ease of access from the USA, even during the pandemic; the very comfortable weather; Mexican culture in general; the excellent and affordable food; the highly rewarding loyalty program of Hong Kong / Hotel Cascadas / Restaurante Azul; the convenience of "one-stop shopping" in the small, compact area of el Zona Norte; the low prices of the street girls; and the relatively consistent and reliable performance of most of the street girls, albeit within their very narrow limits. The significant downsides included: my distaste for the common body types and facial features among many of the street girls; the low standards and limited range of the services that they provide; their general coldness and lack of GFE; the low quality of many of the short-time hotel rooms; and the efforts of local guys to make money off me. Unfortunately, I missed most of the makeshift club scene that had cropped up in the attached hotels, as the authorities had shut it down just before my arrival. The little bit of the club scene that I did sample suggested to me that it might not have been my cup of tea anyway, even under normal circumstances. I would be willing to go back again: under normal circumstances, to see el Zona Norte in all its glory; if and when I find myself in the area for other reasons; or if and when I feel the need for a mongering trip when other options remain inaccessible.
Why I Went There.
I had historically excluded Tijuana from my range of foreign mongering destinations for security reasons. My 2018 and 2019 trips to the Santa Fe red light district of Bogota, which also has a reputation for security risks, persuaded me to reconsider Tijuana. Reading more about Tijuana's Zona Norte on ISG and elsewhere online persuaded me that the security risks were manageable, as had been the case in Santa Fe. I liked Santa Fe's combination of club and street action for "one-stop shopping" in a very small area and therefore found the combination of club and street action in el Zona Norte appealing for similar reasons. Other reasons for my interest in Tijuana included: my surprisingly rewarding mongering experiences in other parts of Mexico that have little or no reputation for mongering (Cancun and Cozumel); and my interest in traveling to the area for other reasons (specifically, scuba diving). I hoped last year to combine a scuba diving trip to San Diego with a mongering trip to Tijuana, but the combination of logistical hurdles and physical demands deterred me. This year's pandemic upended international travel and left me with hardly any viable foreign mongering options other than this place that I had been hoping to visit anyway, so the choice was easy.
How I Planned My Trip.
The combination of the Hong Kong Club and the attached Hotel Cascadas and Restaurante Azul seemed to be the obvious choice for my base. Hong Kong seemed to be the most popular and highly regarded of the clubs, and Cascadas seemed to be the best hotel choice at ground zero. The view of Callejon Coahuila (henceforth "the alley") and its street action from the balcony of Azul, enabling me to check out the street girls while I ate, was another advantage. Another key selling point was the Hong Kong VIP card, which provides significant discounts for lodging and dining at the attached hotel and restaurant. I bought the VIP card as I was checking in, and it paid for itself and then some just when I paid for the hotel room. I ate at Azul regularly and thus realized even more savings. I liked the Vegas-like design and thecor of Cascadas, and their linens were so comfortable that I wanted some for myself.
Nonetheless, they clearly have inventory control problems. My room key card deactivated every afternoon around lunch time; I had to go to reception to reactivate it every day. One night at about 3 am, security banged on my door and claimed that the room was not registered in my name which was clearly false, as the reception verified my name whenever I went to reactivate my room key. I had to show the security guard my receipt, and even then he questioned its authenticity. I am curious as to whether or not this was an attempted shakedown, and why they had to do this at 3 am.
I knew that Tijuana mongers are typically on either day trips from Southern California or on long weekends from elsewhere in western states, and that the size of the scene may limit its viability for longer trips. Coming all the way from New York, I felt the need for a longer trip to justify the length and the cost of the flight and the resulting jet lag, and I did not have any specific reason to stay in New York or get back at a certain time. I decided that I might as well stay as long as a week and "panic buy" or stockpile pussy while I still had the chance, since it was uncertain when I might have the opportunity to monger like this again in the near future. I arrived on a Wednesday afternoon to give myself time to settle down and familiarize myself with the environment on Wednesday and Thursday before the action peaked on the weekend and slowed down into Monday and Tuesday. In retrospect, Wednesday through Sunday would have been sufficient. The action was very slow on Monday and Tuesday, by which point I had already explored most of the street talent pool and had begun to scrape the bottom of the barrel.
It nonetheless worked out well that I stayed so long because I just missed Hurricane Isaias, so it might have been worth it just for the weather. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Tijuana was nowhere near as hot as I would have expected for the middle of summer; indeed, there were often refreshingly cool breezes. More importantly, it was a dry warmth, with almost no humidity. If nothing else, it was a relief to escape the sweltering heat and oppressive humidity of New York in the summer. Aside from Medellin, I cannot think of any other mongering destination where the weather is an attraction for me.
I would add that I found the general environment of Tijuana, including downtown, more appealing than I would have expected. I appreciated the local color, such as mariachis, or the contrast of old-timers in cowboy hats and cowboy boots next to deportees that look like they just stepped out of a Cypress Hill video. Mexico may be relatively low in the ranking of foreign mongering destinations, but it does seem to me to be a more interesting place to visit for more general purposes than, say, Colombia or the DR.
No Clubs.
I had hoped to go to the makeshift clubs operating in the attached hotels at night, as well as sampling the street meat during the day. Unfortunately, the authorities shut down the makeshift clubs just before my arrival, as I learned when I turned on my phone as my plane was taxiing on the runway. I debated whether or not to return to New York but decided to proceed once I determined that the cost of changing my flight would have actually been greater than the cost of one week in my hotel room in Cascadas. I reconciled myself to having only street action, which would at least be better than nothing.
In retrospect, I wonder if this ostensible disappointment might not have been a blessing in disguise. The cheaper street scene may have actually been better than usual under these circumstances, and what little of the club scene I did experience did not persuade me that it would have worked out much better for me. Some of the Hong Kong girls were still around Cascadas and available as "room service" for guests. From what little I saw, the visual quality of the talent was significantly higher than the street meat. They were also extremely aggressive and gave off a predatory vibe that reminded me more of Las Vegas strippers than Latin American hookers. I learned a long time ago to be wary of Latin American hookers that speak fluent English and quote prices in USD, and these girls definitely fit that profile. I nonetheless ended up trying one of them at a point when the street scene was not yielding results, and I ended up regretting it. In retrospect, I should have aborted when she showed up at my door with an uninvited second girl, falsely claiming that I had requested a threesome. I sent away the uninvited girl and proceeded with the girl that I had requested, which turned out to be a disaster. It was the second-worst session of my trip, and, at $80 USD, it cost far more than any street meat. The service was extremely rushed and half-assed in a way that must have been deliberate.
The worst session of my trip was at Adelitas, which had reopened its makeshift club operations inside its attached hotel a few days after the authorities shut them down. It took quite a bit of effort to find a suitable prospect through the combination of darkness, loud music, cigarette smoke, and aggressive meseros. I would normally prefer the "meet & greet" environment of clubs to street action for the opportunity to interview girls and assess chemistry, but the environment here was hardly more suitable for this purpose. It was unclear to me if this difficulty was due to the makeshift nature of the club, or if I would have had a similar experience under normal circumstances anyway. The girl that I eventually pulled did not seem aggressive, and she did seem to be making some semblance of an effort. It was just that she simply lacked sexual skills and probably got by on her appearance alone. I had heard and read beforehand that the quality of service in Tijuana, particularly among the street girls, was low, but I was not expecting it to be so downright bad among the club girls. It was unclear to me if this poor service was representative of the clubs in general or a product of the unusual pandemic circumstances.
Bar La Gloria also resumed its makeshift club operations in the attached Hotel Garcia after the authorities had shut such operations down, but it was hardly worth the effort and the cigarette smoke. Surprisingly, the visual quality of the talent inside the club was significantly lower than the lineup of street girls outside Hotel Garcia. I finished my one drink, left, and returned to street action.
Street Action.
In contrast and as a pleasant surprise, the quality of the street action exceeded my modest expectations. ISG members have written that the closure of the clubs and general economic hardship may have improved the street scene by attracting former club girls and fresh meat with no other way to earn money. I met up with an online mongering contact, a Southern California local with extensive Tijuana experience, who observed that the visual appeal of the street girls was noticeably higher than normal.
With that said, the street scene does have major limitations. It was sometimes a challenge to find an appealing girl. I noticed that the street talent pool appears to have a higher proportion of indigenous blood than the lighter-skinned and more Caucasian-looking club girls. I have no problem with a darker skin tone, but the more indigenous facial features often did not appeal to me. I had a bigger problem with the prevalence of what I can only describe as the "Spongebob Squarepants" body type: a rectangular mid-section with few or no curves. I learned to avoid the street girls wearing corsets, which they use to disguise this common body type and to create the false impression of curves. With that said, I did find some surprisingly high-quality talent on the street, and not just former club girls. One advantage of the street girls over the club girls is that they did tend to have a more natural look and relied less on extensive makeup, fancy clothing, and plastic surgery to enhance their appearance.
There was clearly a geographic pattern to the multiple tiers of talent within the street scene. The girls in the alley and spilling around the corners of the alley and Constitucion at Hotels Ibiza and Garcia were "the A Team," in terms of both appearance and service. This top tier of street talent included former club girls and often used short-time hotels with nicer rooms, such as Hotel Coahuila (attached to Adelitas), Hotel Ibiza, and Hotel Garcia. I had the best results with girls near and in front of Hotel Coahuila (including former Adelitas girls) and Hotel Eduardo. The second-tier girls were further up that same western side of Constitucion as one walks away from the alley, and on the opposite (eastern) side of Constitucion. The appeal of the talent in this area was lower, but I found some diamonds in the rough. The short-time hotel rooms here were of lower quality and often hotter than outside. Toward the opposite (west) end of the alley, the girls on Ninos Heroes were the bottom of the barrel.
A significant minority of the street girls wore masks. A majority of those girls wearing masks were concentrated in front of Hotel Ibiza and Hotel Garcia; perhaps those hotels want the girls that use their rooms to wear masks even when they are outside. The masks were an obstacle to checking out the street meat, since they partially concealed their faces and obscured their facial expressions. Perhaps there were more girls that would have caught my eye without masks, and they missed out on business.
The low standards of service and general atmospherics posed another, greater problem. Many of the girls seemed to have a cold, disinterested vibe, and I got the distinct sense from a few of them that they simply did not want to be there. Given the circumstances, I was grateful that I had the opportunity to monger at all, and the street scene often exceeded my expectations at very reasonable prices. This trip also reinforced my broader interest in traveling to Mexico in general and for other purposes, which is good if only because I might find it hard to travel to many other countries for the foreseeable future. I doubt that Tijuana would be high on my list of mongering destinations if and when the world returns to some semblance of normalcy, but I would hope to check it out again if and when I come to the area for other reasons. My main reservation would be that the club scene, which seems to be the main attraction, may not work for me if my admittedly very limited experience with the club scene on this trip gives me any idea of what to expect under normal circumstances. The club scene costs a lot more than the street scene, both for the girls themselves and the additional expenses. The visual appeal of the club talent is clearly much higher, but I would find it difficult to justify the greater expense if the quality of their service is on par with that of the street girls, or even lower, as I found.

My first trip to Tijuana was a satisfying experience, despite the sub-optimal circumstances of the pandemic and some major downsides of the Tijuana scene that predate it. The most redeeming features of Tijuana for me were: the relative ease of access from the USA, even during the pandemic; the very comfortable weather; Mexican culture in general; the excellent and affordable food; the highly rewarding loyalty program of Hong Kong / Hotel Cascadas / Restaurante Azul; the convenience of "one-stop shopping" in the small, compact area of el Zona Norte; the low prices of the street girls; and the relatively consistent and reliable performance of most of the street girls, albeit within their very narrow limits.
