Belongs to HK / LC / MQ chain so you can bring girls from those clubs, doesn't care who the hell else you bring in and has A / see and usually WiFi. Top floor where they like to put you is a lot of stairs though. Cascadas does care who you bring, they want the girl to give her ID, and the $80 they want for a weekend room is stateside pricing. Like many other things at HK. Jalos is the worst, charged me $16 for a second girl, after having made me walk the first girl back to where she kept her ID.

Went on a Friday, not too hot, PedWest still closed, so long walk from where I parked free to the old building. Nobody at nearly 9 pm cared about any forms, although I did have to show passport on entry. The other day a CBP agent said that it would not open for another year. They sent a lot of agents to the border. So that is probably the same thing that happened to Ped West, they had to spread them out along the border leaving Ped West closed.

Holy shit, the line to enter Mexico stretched from the Border all the way up to about Coronado. I did not recall seeing an accident so it was just a whole fucking lot of people flocking to Mexico. Maybe Father's day had something to do with the traffic. Over at Ibiza, I met a girl named Yvonne. She was fucking stunninging gorgeous. Wanted 400 pesos for sex. Yes this happen occasionally especially on Friday evenings. One option is get off to get off on Beyer blvd from the 905 and then cut down to San Ysidro blvd. One time the traffic was so bad that no one would let me over to exit on Camino De La Plaza. I had to go through the turn around at the border. There was a lot of fools driving on the shoulder and the CHP was giving out a lot of ticket. Most of the people crossing the border are Mexican's heading home.

You can go to Tijuana for "Health" as is one of the options on the FMM form if they ask for it. So your tooth that is giving you a little pain is the reason your going. The dentist on Av Revolucion 868 is called "I Love My Dentist" and they are open Saturday's not too far from Norte where you can stop after the dentist.
They may ask for this form or not. I just crossed Sunday and just asked where I was going and I told them to a dentist. No problems and no further questions asked.

Yep Curry, I found the same with ratty hotels. But. They do make some good memories. Hotel room across from HK that I took a SG up several times. Shower didn't work. Pretty small cheezie room but it was an "experience" that I am glad I had.

When I powered up my Verizon cell after crossing the border from the US it took 15 minutes and several power cycles of my phone for it eventually to connect to Verizon. (I really wanted to use the phone for Uber etc.).
Myself and buddy ended up taking a Taxi to Playas to check out another friends $600 apartment. (she retired in Tijuana a couple years ago).
Anyway. Curious how are others deal with phones and privacy issues??

Yep Curry, I found the same with ratty hotels. But. They do make some good memories. Hotel room across from HK that I took a SG up several times. Shower didn't work. Pretty small cheezie room but it was an "experience" that I am glad I had.You want to see ratty, take a Rio Verde chica up. Memorable doesn't quite capture it.

G.You can purchase a mexican number for any unlocked burner phone and buy minutes on Xoom or other recharge websites. Go to TelCel Service Center in Plaza Rio. Easy Peasy. They have several unlocked phones on sale at the store. Easy peasy. When in TJ recharge at any OXXO 7 11 Or Soriana supermarket.

You can go to Tijuana for "Health" as is one of the options on the FMM form if they ask for it. So your tooth that is giving you a little pain is the reason your going. The dentist on Av Revolucion 868 is called "I Love My Dentist" and they are open Saturday's not too far from Norte where you can stop after the dentist.
They may ask for this form or not. I just crossed Sunday and just asked where I was going and I told them to a dentist. No problems and no further questions asked.

I did not like the products and I've given at least a dozen BGs my cell number. They all prefer WhatsApp (which uses your real number) and with 1 exception, they have never called or texted outside of that app. If you have a nosy GF or wife, I imagine it is not worth the risk. I don't give my number to every chica, but if there is some level of trust, I don't hesitate & I've never had a problem. Like I said I don't recommend it but just sharing my experience. Now, if I was one of the guys that just walks up to a girl with an offer, doesn't take time to have a drink or conversation, no way would I give her my number.

No problems going back. I said I was visiting a dentist (and did have a name of a dentist and address if they asked (which they didn't). Going back they only asked where I was going. And I said home, they said where is home and I gave them the address.
Also. They can't keep you from coming back in if your a resident of USA, they can detain you and ask questions if for some reason your passport had an issue or something like that.

Quick points to mention from this weekends very good trip where I stayed overnight for the first time at Cascadas Hotel.
1. Brining up girls with no extra charge for the room was Wonderful.
2. Thanks for Cap's and other advice from the forum. No problem brining up wingman or girls, just act like you know what your doing.
3. Told border patrol going in I was going to dentist. He asked if had appointment and I said no. He said you need to have appointment next time but this time I will let you through with a warning. Both of my parents died who I lived with since 1999. Their health started to fail in late 2016, early 2017. My mother passed Sept of 2018, My step father March of 2020.
The house has been sold. My sister and myself will be moving out by August 1st or maybe a little sooner. I have my Second Draw PPP money and want to save the majority of it. So instead of renting a cheap apartment in LA County (the lowest I found was Lancaster for just under $700 a month for 1 bedroom), I thought hey, why not just hang out in Tijuana for awhile? I haven't been down since about 2017 so while I'm sure some things have changed, other things haven't.
The main reason for doing this is; My BK isn't quite two years old so I don't qualify for any FHA or USDA programs until that point which is Sept 2021. My next business is best run out of a house, townhouse or condo with two car garage because I have two cars and likey adding another. I may have to move to Las Vegas or Phoenix to get the kind of pricing I want but that's for another thread.
So my questions are -.
Any use Airbnb in Tijuana? Any other affordable options exist (fully furnished)?
What sort of flights are available directly from Tijuana? I think I want to scamper over to Costa Rica, maybe fly to Mexico City and then onto Argentina or Brazil?

Probably heading to Tijuana either Friday or Saturday evenings. Just wondering if anyone has been down there on 4th of July weekend. I went down on Sat on Memorial day weekend. Headed back that evening & thankfully the line was not long.Crap. It is going to be a zoo getting into Mexico Friday night. I would definitely go early in the day.

Half of that would be around $350. You can find an apartment for that money and possibly furnished but don't expect much in the way of furnishing. For that kind on money you are better off looking with boots on the ground and a local cell phone.
If you told me your monthly budget was in the $600/700 range you would be directed to a few of these yuppie all inclusive condo buildings going up. Some go up to $2 K a month but some studios can be had for much less.
I'd also say $350 gets you much more in the colonias. In centro that money will get you a 1 bedroom.
I would work out a deal with Hotel Leyva or Hacienda for a month or two while you look. Both those extended stay hotels are in your price range and in Zona Norte. You can do the same in a few other hotels around town as well. Have cash know where you want to stay and make an offer.
As far as dating middle class in TJ . The trick would be to present YOURSELF as middle class or above :) Most middle class Mexicans in TJ look down on American tourists or assume the negative stereotype . What would any decent middle class American be doing in TJ ? :) If anything "business" would be the best alibi. General tourism sounds flakey ..... " not with my daughter ! " :)

Fryer.The SENTRI lane is accessed from Bellas Artes. The entrance is immediately east of the "Regular Lane" overpass. Driving east you'll get into the left turn bay under the overpass. Driving west you'll turn right, just past the OXXO. There is a car wash on the NW corner of the entrance.

Most airports charge about 400 pesos per passenger for TUA airport departure fee for the use of the airport, roughly the same for both domestic and international flights, payable to the airlines in the ticket, at check in or at the counter, connecting passengers exempted.
Add about $20 TUA for each domestic flight segment Passengers leaving Mexico have to pay additional roughly 1,200 pesos departure fee.

Take the trolley.I think I'll leave my car up in LA, I get a spot in DTLA garage for $163 a month. I can take the bus down from that point. A little more complicated but vastly more familiar.
I didn't take that into account, last time I flew to Sao Paulo it was $529 are / T on Mexicana from LAX. It's around the same price now with Covid cases increasing in much of Brazil. A post further down on the first page got some cheap tickets for traveling around Mexico, I thought that would carry over into international flights.
If you live in San Diego county and are regularly in Tijuana zona norte then only buy a 180 days visa (6 months) for $ 30 and always go through the gate for Mexicans. Show your visa to a Mexican border agent and there are no questions or problems. Easy.I would do that if I can. Also money is essential for most chicas that may have families or kids waiting for them back in their hometowns. I love donating to single moms around the world. To be honest, I've avoided that place for months now because I just found the girls to be significantly lower than competitor bars. For anyone not tied to the States who wants to live in Mexico, CDMX runs circles around Tijuana. It is better in just about every possible way except for easy access to California. Another big plus is it will cost you less, far less because it's not filled with people making California pay driving up the price of everything.

I don't like the variable weather as I am California native. I am actually looking to Las Vegas in the short term as it keeps all the things that interest me within a reasonable distance.
The only reason I am considering Tijuana because of how I currently make money. If that changes my options open up more.

You can get a one bedroom apartment in Polanco, Condessa, Colonia Roma or somewhere else hip in CDMX for around a thousand bucks a month no problem and even less if you're willing to do some legwork. Also, keep in mind that Polanco is like the Beverly Hills or Park Avenue of CDMX. A monthly parking spot in Manhattan would cost a thousand a month if not far more. I lost touch with NY prices the last several years so not sure of current conditions.

How is the mongering in Tijuana during the daytime (typical work hours)? I have time off to burn. I figure I'll try hiding out there sometime.
Is knowing Spanish a must? I can only order tacos.
Passport required? Can I get by with just an ID?
How is the pedestrian traffic? Is it easy to cross on foot? How long does it take to cross the border?
Any spots to avoid? I plan to travel alone.

Planning a trip in the coming weeks and because I would like to partake in more than just HK I was looking at booking a room outside of the Zona Norte. I have done some research on Hotel Caesars and being that it seems like it's within walking distance to Zona Norte it's one of the locations I am considering. I have already that it is a provider friendly location but I also noticed that just up the road is another hotel called Rio Rita. I have yet to see this hotel mentioned anywhere on the forum and was wondering if anyone has experience at this location. It isn't too much closer to Zona Norte than Caesars but hey every little bit counts when trying to maximize time in Tijuana right? Anyone been to La Cueva del Puedo? It looks like their prices are lower than the usual HK and Tropical prices and the rooms look great. I like adventuring and thought Zona Norte was the only fun spot in Tijuana. I may have to try it out on Monday next week. Possibly take the vans to centro and walk during the day or maybe taxi / Uber it.

I am not from San Diego, but I have decided to make a one night trip to Tijuana when I visit there next week. My greatest concern is the trip back, where waits of an hour to get through immigration are common.
I have Global Entry and typically I entered the country using a machine in about 2 minutes (prior to COVID- haven't left the USA since Feb 2020). Is there anything like that at the San Ysidro border crossing? Does my Trusted Traveler status get me anything that will allow me to skip the line?
BTW: I have no idea where my Global Entry card might be. It has never been necessary at Miami or JFK, where I typically have entered the USA from abroad. I only have my passport.

This often goes on until her set is over, so you never get to see her dance much. OTOH, guys in the far reaches of the club get to see the girl up close, so I guess it equals out.
There is a small hotel on-prem, but I can't tell you what the price is. There used to be video screens above the urinals in the men's room with pix of the hotel rooms.
It's extremely slow in the afternoons, and really doesn't get going until 9 pm or so.
So, if you don't mind being the only gringo, and can speak some Spanish, and don't mind partying like the locals (in other words this isn't a hard-core fuck factory like HK or Adelita), then you'll have a good time. If you're looking for another HK Club, keep looking.

I only have my passport.With Global Entry you simply walk to the front of the regular line and show your card to the gate guards. They let you in and you walk to the border in the "SENTRI" line. You will go to the SENTRI checkpoints and they will process you through pretty quickly. You do not need your passport to return to the US.
You need the card if you plan to use it to walk across. The guards check the card to allow you to bypass the regular line.

That's because they let everyone in. It just depends on how much they want to hassle you. Maybe angling for a bribe, maybe just being a dick. You don't need to fake a dentist appointment. They will let you in.
But I agree that you should buy the $30 FMM and not worry about it in the future.

Will be down there this Sunday if in that neck of the woods.When you buy 6 months visa on the paper visa is printed: your name, date of birth, US passport number or passport card, visa number and stamp with date of transaction e. g. July 3 (today) - so your visa is valid until January 3 - 2022 So you can enter Mexico without restrictions until January 3. I always use the entrance for Mexicans, shows a visa and passport card, never have any questions or problems with entering. Very easy. But it's important not to lose your visa.
I went to Tijuana all day Saturday, staring early. Holy shit, the Mexicans forgot it was a holiday weekend and did not open additional gates. At 8 am, it was a fucking zoo getting into Mexico. Tijuana traffic was extremely heavy. On the other hand, the number of mongers in the Zona Norte was about average or even below average. By about 2 pm, I was in HK having fun. But left HK by 5 to avoid the Saturday crowds, so I'm unsure how crowded it got. Finished the night out at Tropicals where it was pretty mellow.
Dentist. Check.
Brake job on the car. Check.
Chugga chugga a favorite. Check.
2 delicious and affordable Mexican meals. Check.
Sucked on 6 pairs of titties at $1 a chica. Check.
One of the things I love about traveling to other countries is that it's a constant process of learning. And Zona Norte feeds that quite well!
Couple points to mention.
1. Instead of paying $$$ a day to park at the border I did the trolley for the first time. (made the mistake of parking at Palm Ave trolley station) and should have went to exits further to Beyer Blvd which is just much closer to the border.
2. Stayed at Cascadas. Got there early before 1 pm to do some stuff around town so I checked luggage at the Hong Kong bar desk downstairs as Cascadas rooms are not ready until about 2:30 pm. (wonder if your VIP if it makes a difference. Anyone have comments on that).
3. I had a room at Cascadas on the 5th floor near the front staiirs. OMG it was noisy! Which I am sure isn't a surprise to anyone.
4. Went over to Rio Mall and got a Mexico sim card with Telcel as Verizon sucks so much down there in the bars.
5. Bars in Zona Norte were really dead about 3:30 pm when I finally hit the clubs. For a few hours I thought. Dam, I should not have come down on a Sunday holiday weekend etc. (but that perception did change after a few more hours).
I learned you need to be patient! The place was rockin by 7 pmish.
6. Cute tiny street girl in the alley behind HK wanted $25 for 30 minutes. Said it was $10 for the room but if I took her to my room at Cascadas it would be $60. Not sure why but I was tempted as it was so dead at the clubs.
7. I looked for Mileidy in Tropicana who I was with for the first time the week before. Frickin Amazing small tiny body. Very easy going girl. I kept bouncing between bars and going back to Tropical every hour seeing if I could find her (does that sound desperate. Haha.
8. Thinking I would not find Mileidy at Tropical this trip I had bit of chemistry with HK girl and made a hasty decision to take her upstairs for $80. Should have bought her a drink first. I made out better paying $149 for room rather than paying $20 every hhr since I spent 4 hours with the chicas (would have cost me $160 for basic room). I will try for 9th floor in Cascadas when I get time. The sound system was just a sound bar and sub, but makes a big difference as the chicas like putting on YouTube and their favorite tunes. I have basic understanding of Spanish and listen to some of the tunes during gym sessions. They like Karol G, CNCO, Becky G, etc. I like to travel light so a Bluetooth speaker wouldn't work for me, but good idea if I ever plan to stay overnight. I think the room service guy went into the room to turn down the volume when I left as I came back and the sound bar was at lower volume. I've walked up and even asked to pay the $30 for the 6-month visa. Why? At least half the time I went, they didn't even give me an FMM. That was no big deal because I'm almost always staying in MX. But if you are going back and forth, the benefit of having that FMM is that you enter the country in the Mexican line. Show them your FMM, and maybe you'll have to show them your passport. First time back to the Zona in 3+ years. Covid entry / exit has me worried. I'm by foot Friday night, Saturday and Sunday afternoon / evening and crossing back over to S. The. Each time.
Do you guys recommend filling out a FMM online or just as you walk up? I'm unsure how to fill that form out as it asks for local Mexican hotel, reason of visit, business activity etc. Any special ways to fill that out to avoid problemas.

Thanks a bunch. Now that I have 180 day no line entry it might motivate me to stroll by more often. If I filled my info out correctly LOL. Few tricky parts for anyone filling out online. 1) entry "El Chaparral" 2) reason for entry Other 3) Ministry guess health works too. I found a helpful YouTube video:) how to complete your online FMM. If you're me. It was helpful. Last time I was down there it was a construction zone. Now I guess there is West. And East. You can easily go to their website with that name in google. Not sure if your looking for the car your whole time in Cancun or just a couple of days. Just to let you know it's almost worth the rental price to take it from the airport to your hotel since no Uber and taxi prices from airport to most hotels is pretty high. If you decide to not get the car at the airport they will deliver it to your hotel when you need it. They will just charge a small fee for that service. Also they will require a deposit before they deliver the car so don't think they are ripping you off.
The pills I never had them ask for any proof. If your worried about it just take them out of the package and put in your pocket and they will never know since the metal detectors won't pick then up.

He asked me how much $ I did have, and I actually did not know (he counted it; it was about $950 plus $100 in Mexican pesos). I usually carry about that amount of cash when I leave the country, as I have had credit cards fail me from time to time. The reason the dog sniffed me out was undoubtedly due to the strong scent of marijuana that came from my briefcase. I often store joints in my brief case (but I had no marijuana in the brief case today). I live in a state where recreational marijuana is legal, by the way.

I was so pleased that I even gave the cab driver $10 to take me to the Ticuan Hotel, even though the sign outside of immigration clearly says that the cost of an official cab into the center of the city is $5.
The moral of the story, if you want to smoke pot, buy it in Tijuana. I a not certain why US immigration cares about cash, but I bet that carrying a large quantity of cash puts you on the DEA's radar screen forever.
Caught a Uber back to the border. The price for Uber has dropped back down to 40 pesos or roughly $2. There is quite a few taxi drivers that are now trying to charge $6.

I used to be an investigator and first thing they do is 50 state FBI hits and FINCEN. If investigated, then probably best to have a good explanation.

I never heard of FINCEN (google tells me this means "Financial Crimes Enforcement Network") until just now, but I agree that it is not wise to mess around with them. Despite my cool exterior, I was a bit anxious when the German shepherd got crazy with my baggage. I also agree that it is foolish to "act smart" with LE by making up some story for one's personal amusement. It is always a good idea to remember that lying to LE is a felony, with fines (and occasionally jail time) that exceed whatever crime you may have committed.
That being said, I have done nothing illegal and have no plans or desire to do anything illegal. I only wish that immigration would as much energy into making the lines move faster as they do hassling innocent civilians.
Getting busted over pot or mouthing off could come back on you. In the USA, it is estimated that the average person commits 3 felonies a day without knowing it because there are too many laws. Read the book, Three Felonies a Day, How the Feds Bust the Innocent, if you want to know more. And if motivated, the cops will find out which of the three you committed. Someday you may want to get a Sentri card. Talked to a guy in HK last week, said he was busted over some small crime years ago and when he tried to get a Sentri card recently, they checked his history and denied him.

I arrived in the Ticuan Hotel. It gets 3 stars by me, which is my usual. It is clean, but everything is old. The showers have hot water and it is quiet if you are not in a room next to the disco. They took my skin temperature because and had me sterilize my hands. This seems to be common here (they did this at Hong Kong too! But one cannot blame people for wanting to minimize the risk for COVID, even if the measures they are taking do absolutely nothing.
I took a nap and ate excellent Oaxacan food at a restaurant across the street from Caesars (cannot remember the name). I had the ribs in a dark mole sauce. Border control is how CBP and HSI arrest criminals. Arrest warrants for class I and II felonies from any state will hit the FBI's arrest list and CBP will have them in their system. Guys who owe more than $50 K in back tax may be denied entries or arrested at border.
Marijuana may be legal and California but is still illegal and prosecuted by Federal laws in both US and Mexico. Carrying a single joint is enough to be busted by federal agents. So be careful.
Recently a wingman added his car to his Global entry card, got his card revoked after review by State Dept due to his address was linked to prostitution or trafficking. He gave his name and address to an escort for reference. She had probably arrested for prostitution but used his name as reference for visa application. The feds know a lot more about you than you think.
A bro applied for G E and was denied, he said due to a minor assault conviction, but he could be minimizing a more serious charge. I know guys who got GE with battery misdemeanor conviction, but it was 15 years old. I did tell him about GE's disqualification thresholds, I. E. Unlike an Allegiant captain approaching Detroit Municipal in a snow storm on an Airbus A319 packed with gamblers returning from Las Vegas, ran low on fuel, unable to reach Chicago O'Hare for alternate, refused to declare a fuel emergency, but insisted on having priority landing ahead of half a dozen planes holding for landing. He landed, ran out of fuel on the runway, his license suspended, got busted and lost his job with Allegiant. With that 'minor' infraction, he could never get a job with any airlines or reputable operators again, probably flying freight or charter in Central America or Asia.
Try very hard not to break federal laws, or at least don't let them prove you had intentions.

Bali was surprising as at the airport they have a sign that states if you bring anything illegal into the country, then face the death penalty like a shooting squad. Some guy comes up to me and says for $40, he will get me past the line in 5 minutes. I paid him $40 and he walked me to the front of the line where a sign says that SENTRI card holders can go to the front of the line. In other words, I did not need him because I have Global Entry and that is part of SENTRI. He quickly disappeared and I walked ahead of everyone and had a 5 minute wait to get to an agent. Live and learn!
At that point, the agent tells me my card is inactive! I almost shit my pants thinking that they are going to send me back to the regular line but they just took me to secondary screening and 5 minutes later I am out. It turns out that you do not need an active card to fly to the USA, but land crossing is different. It has to be activated online but it can only be activated within 90 days of receiving the card. I was told that if I came across the border again, I would be subject to secondary screening again.
Thus my short journey has ended! But I now know how to do the crossing, which was my biggest worry. I only got ripped off once (although the chicas could have been bargained down a bit, I suspect).

I told her in my (rusty) Spanish and we both had a laugh about the whole thing. I forgot her name, but I'd know her immediately if I saw her. So all in all a great three nights and I'm glad I decided to move here. At least for a little while.
Now I must get down to business and get used to working from 11 pm-7 am (my company is based in Germany / France) and I moved into an Airbnb which is about 12 kms from the border (Campos area) so I'll probably keep it to only hitting Zona Norte Saturdays. Leave it to Tijuana to liven up life a bit. Got a ride from a coworker down to Zona Norte as he drives from work to Tijuana every day. It was Great skipping the parking headache and time to cross.
I was grabbing a bite to eat at Azuls overlooking the alley and a couple guys started having a fist fight where one guy got perty bloody. Finally another one of the guys started chasing the guy off with a large wooden stick. It only lasted 3-4 minutes and no police were called. Just a regular alley fight I guess.

The lines have gotten long in the afternoon lately. Hopefully pedwestopens up soon.
I pulled into the San Ysidro border station at 1 pm. I felt like I had arrived in one of the outer circles of hell. The line was easily half a mile long! Some guy comes up to me and says for $40, he will get me past the line in 5 minutes. I paid him $40 and he walked me to the front of the line where a sign says that SENTRI card holders can go to the front of the line. In other words, I did not need him because I have Global Entry and that is part of SENTRI. He quickly disappeared and I walked ahead of everyone and had a 5 minute wait to get to an agent. Live and learn!
At that point, the agent tells me my card is inactive! I almost shit my pants thinking that they are going to send me back to the regular line but they just took me to secondary screening and 5 minutes later I am out. It turns out that you do not need an active card to fly to the USA, but land crossing is different. It has to be activated online but it can only be activated within 90 days of receiving the card. I was told that if I came across the border again, I would be subject to secondary screening again.
Thus my short journey has ended! But I now know how to do the crossing, which was my biggest worry. I only got ripped off once (although the chicas could have been bargained down a bit, I suspect).

I suggest you let this little experiment wait until you have about ten years available for prison time!I had an experience Cbp found some empty cannabis vape cartridges in my car and they gave me a warning. I had to sign some piece of paper. Honestly I don't know what the paper even said because I was nervous thinking I was going to jail. The cartridges were empty but still had tiny trace amounts of cannabis liquid in them. So it's possible if you get caught with something small like a joint you might only get a warning. Maybe. Don't quote me on that.
Am I missing anything? Seems I always forget to bring something when I head to Mexico. This list is perhaps a bit overkill but here is a list of items to bring / do before the mongering trip.
1. Cash – $20's, $5's, $1's (go to bank and get $60 in singles (bring any extra foreign currency you have from a previous trip).
2. Money Clip.
3. VIP Card For Any Clubs.
4. Passport.
5. Copy of Passport.
6. Visa – if applicable.
7. Belt – With plastic belt buckle for going through metal detectors.
8. Condoms / Lube.
9. Pills-Viagra etc.
10. Phone – With Downloaded songs that will work when not connected to Wifi or cell carrier.
11.2nd Phone with Sim from country visiting. (Download and special apps, Uber, DiDi, Lyft, Google Translate) (Take pictures of CC's and back contact numbers incase loose or stolen).
12. Bluetooth Speaker.
13. Basic Language Book.
14. Clothes – Any special pants / shorts with hidden pockets sewed into them.
15. Toiletries – Regular plus Scope / Mouthwash / Toilette paper.
16. Emergency Numbers (for when shit really hits the fan).
17. Friends / Family numbers (if going solo it's often good to let someone on the US side your going down there).
18. US Consulate +55 8526 2561 from Mexico or 844-528-6611 from US.
19. Lawyer#'s List of Numbers for Lawyers from US Embassy in Tijuana.

As to be expected my online preemptive strike hit a road block. Maybe it was just the guy at 8:30 pm who didn't want to stamp my online prepaid $30 180 day visa. I'm going to try again today hopefully with better luck. I'll share any new final info I learn about180 day visa. What I didn't like was $13 non-overnight parking. Overnight was some crazy amount. This is the LZ lot with attendant. Used to be maybe 10 for 24 hours. So that same lot wants $25 for Saturday's.loco. Has to be a better rate. That just adds insult after you some fleecing by the ladies (as expected). I tried some advanced search on parking to no avail. I did have a nostalgic night back in the zone after a long break, had fun in HK even though I prefer the street. Did some street carne-shopping including the corner tacos after my decent HK chica but was too tired to follow up with a few nice SG's. Amazed covid. Now delta not slowing anything down viva Mexico!

I did tell him about GE's disqualification thresholds, I. E. Any violence or drugs felonies however old, plus recent misdemeanor and DUIs.I applied for GE in 2015 and when it was time for the final paperwork I did it in San Ysidro (on my way to Tijuana). After 15 minutes of standing at the counter about to be granted the card a DUI and another misdemeanor, both from the early 70's popped up. Then the asshole in charge comes over and decides to say no to my GE card. Soon after I decided to write the CBP Trusted Traveler Ombudsman and I got my card. So it doesn't take much to get denied and there are options if you do.
Also, I realized I needed to renew my card and I tried to do it 2 months before it expired last May. Mistake. It takes them months and months to do a simple renewal so I'm still waiting for my new card. They say on their website that the old card is still good until you either get your new one or they deny you but I don't trust them. I won't go back to Tijuana until I have my new GE card. That's my story. All the best.

Something else in your background, or the way you talked to CBP, may be the reason for denial.
Normally it should take only 2 to 3 weeks to renew GE cards. Your application was in May 2020 when CoVid forced majority of federal workers to stay home and go to work only 1 day a week. That causes lots of delays in every federal services. You may want to write them a few letters of inquiry.
Meanwhile you should print out the statement that "expired GE is good until replacement arrives" and show it to CBP if asked.
I wonder if they ask you if you have an apple every time you cross. My file probably says likes bars and returns early mornings.LOL. The notes would be funny. Mine would say something about this guy has a ton of dental work done for weeks and weeks.
I remember the US border guard asking me if I was bringing anything back once and I told him "just memories".

Per CBP web sites: Live animals, uncooked meats, fruits are prohibited.
Cooked meats and fresh seafoods are OK to cross back. I walked back with a cooler packed with frozen fillets of marlin, tunas, mahi mahi caught in Cabo San Lucas, lasted me and my friends a whole year.

I did follow up on my GE card renewal in June by phone and was told to chill and wait. The printing of the their rules and statements is a good idea.
As for why I was refused was not because of a bad disposition by me. I know when to be polite and I was. A kid (young guy) was doing all the computer work as I waited. At the last minute before everything was okayed a 45 year old DUI popped onto his computer screen. The kid said not to worry and then called his boss over. His boss was a really pompous ass power tripper. He came over and just played God. He was rude and condescending and told me no w a smirk. He enjoyed doing it. Some guys are like that thankfully very few.
The DUI was actually a reckless driving conviction in 1971 but Mr God wanted it to be a DUI. So I was bummed (and shocked at the unfairness) and wrote their ombudsman. I spilled my guts about my troubled beginnings and let them know why I had a couple of run-ins w the law. I spelled it out and reminded them that I have lived a productive life since then. A month later my card arrived.
I hope things continue to get better re the virus and maybe I'll try my Tijuana luck sooner rather than later. Thanks for your input.
