Just spent about 3 hours in the clubs, mainly Hong Kong. I know it's fairly early still but there was hardly any good chicks anywhere. Tropical and Chicago were completely dead. Chicago had like less than 10 girls. Even Adelitas had better girls than them. Hong Kong seemed to have the B team in today. I left without even taking anybody upstairs. Like I said though, it's still early. Couldn't hang out late today, just got some food and now in Ready Lane. Line isn't too bad. Stopped at Farmacia Piri, 20 Maxifort Sildenafil pills for $18. Dont know if thats good or not, seemed fair to me but what do I know. I can't say for sure what happened to Tijuana, maybe not enough downtowns in each area, not enough highways, or simply too densely built housing. Was told south of Tijuana 5 to 15 miles is the same crap. Takes hour to drive to border area during weekdays. And the apartments, ok looking inside, but from outside, very ugly, near revulucion street neighborhoods prices are increasing rapidly, no parkign spots included, $850 month for 3 bedrooms. I'm gona be honest, I think I'd be sneaking into San diego if I was one of these people. SAN DIEGO looks like a paradise compared to what I was seeing. I would say Tijuana needs a trolley system but probably nobody would take it due to robbery.

Majority guys on here are making at least 5 k a month. Most probably make 7 k or more a month. No the guys are in Mexico because of law enforcement, and the girls who can be hired for sex won't be ghetto like USA. It is dollars. I do think prices can be lowered based on what the guy told me trying to get me to drink with him. Considering how slow it was I probably should have pushed for lower prices. 200 for 2 hours is not bad but I have gotten better. I also think the bar fee could be lowered in a slow night like that. Hoping someone can suggest where to park on the US side and still get to Tijuana border via a short Uber drive. I don't visit Tijuana often but the last time I ended up paying $27 per 12 hours I. E. $54/ day at the border parking, clearly gouging if you stay long. It's a Fri-Sunday trip I am contemplating and not driving my car is not an option.

Came to Tijuana to see the Halloween customes. Revolucion not as many as I expected. 10 yrs ago was in Miami and by accident was out and saw a lot. The chicas said Sunday is more of a Halloween day. Hk a bit boring today, had good luck other visits. Finding hotel on sat night at 10 pm not easy but I managed.
Few quick points / highlights from yesterday's adventure.
Joined a meetup group earlier in the day "Tijuana Walking Tours" where a nice local Tijuana guy "Lin" generously takes folks around Tijuana to interesting places. Visited a graveyard, lunch at a good restaurant and Norte Brewing Company (which has a GREAT view of Tijuana and the red light district) from the third floor (see pic).
One of the older guys on the tour was taking pictures of everything and he mistakenly took a picture of some young kid who was just drawing some picture on the street and her parents threw a bit of a fit, the police were called and they made him delete the picture. (the guy is lucky they didn't throw him in jail). I forgot about this law in Mexico as there are a few that will cause problems if your unaware of them.
Also the meetup group was so large that a few people got separated from the group and ended up walking back to downtown from the restaurant through the Red Light District! (they walked through those blocks that we never walk through knowing it's not good). Why they didn't just get in a cab is beyond me!! Just plain stupid.
Was great to see CAP, Frog, I got Fingers and several other bro's including Luke (the YouTube red light district guy) who I had never met before. Found a nice gal from Puerto Vallarta who is a "little" controlling when we went upstairs and she kind of wanted to rush the 30 minutes a bit more than I liked but she was easy to be with and let me take a photo etc. Was funny that she agreed to take a shower but I was thinking we take the shower BEFORE we fuck. But she said no. Take it after. (seems she missed the whole point of why I wanted to take a shower before).

As promised I did trip #2 on 10/29 and I was more adventurous. I walked the alley many times, went into the smaller bars in the alley, which was a complete waste of my time. Did not go into HK at all this trip as there was a line of guys at the door all evening. Did have dinner at Azul, seafood pasta which was excellent and inexpensive.
There seemed to be a 40% cost of living increase across the board, taxis wanted $7 instead of $5 got them down to $6. Girl as Adelita's opening bid was $140 instead of $100, but I got her down to $100 and received meh service from her.
Took a walk around Chicago at about 9 pm all the girls in costumes, looked like the Twitty Twister from Dawn to Dusk.
I think I will spend more time in Tropical next week and see how that works for me.

I had some plans for something in LA area Friday night, but it kind of fell apart when I didn't get out of work until much too late. Few quick points / highlights from yesterday's adventure.
Joined a meetup group earlier in the day "Tijuana Walking Tours" where a nice local Tijuana guy "Lin" generously takes folks around Tijuana to interesting places. Visited a graveyard, lunch at a good restaurant and Norte Brewing Company (which has a GREAT view of Tijuana and the red light district) from the third floor (see pic).
One of the older guys on the tour was taking pictures of everything and he mistakenly took a picture of some young kid who was just drawing some picture on the street and her parents threw a bit of a fit, the police were called and they made him delete the picture. (the guy is lucky they didn't throw him in jail). I forgot about this law in Mexico as there are a few that will cause problems if your unaware of them.
Also the meetup group was so large that a few people got separated from the group and ended up walking back to downtown from the restaurant through the Red Light District! (they walked through those blocks that we never walk through knowing it's not good). Why they didn't just get in a cab is beyond me!! Just plain stupid..I do like the beers in Tijuana. Had hit Norte a few times but unnerving walking up the spiral parking garage w cars buzzing by. Tried the stairwell on the north side but after the climb we found out that emergency exit was welded shut! No way out but back doing the spiraling car way and would hate to have one catch fire without another way out.

Was out and about from 3-11:30 on Saturday. First pass thru HK the doorman asked me to put cell phone and keys and money in the basket. I sung him the Meatloaf song "two out of three ain't bad LOL) and passed true the detector which went off on me. Asked me to empty pockets and surprisingly the condom I was carrying had triggered the alarm. Metal wrapper maybe or they are controlling the outcome. Kept my three wads of money in my hand. I usually go down wearing clothing with at least six pockets. $1&5 bills for tips and beers. $10-20 bills for fiches and arriba bills in another. Also be ware on the USA side. I park one rail stop up and do the ride in due to weekend fees to park at border. It's free and faster than queuing up for 15 minutes to get thru the cluster f&#k of the Jack Box lots and it's $12-18 per 8 hrs on weekends. Got back to metro around midnight and home safe. I have an upscale car but make sure I leave the glove and console compartments open to show that there is nothing to steal.

Did not go into HK at all this trip as there was a line of guys at the door all evening.
Line is usually a lot smaller. Sometimes close to non-existent. At Las Chavelas next door. Very easy to walk in to HK through Las Chavelas since they're connected. That's what I usually do when I see a long line.
Made a trip last night. Couldn't find a parking spot at anywhere of my usual places which I think is the first time it's ever happened to me. Maybe due to Halloween parties? Said fuck it and parked by the border for $12, parking lot behind jack in the box. None of my regulars were at Hong Kong which at least I didn't have to feel obligated to get any of them but I couldn't really find anyone else. It wasn't as packed as I thought it would be either. After about an hour did rounds at Chicago, Adelitas and Tropical. Couldn't find anyone worth my time anywhere. Afternoons during the week I suspect it's much less likely they'd try to shake people down for the fee. Think their targets are moreso dudes who are crossing late at night / on weekends who clearly look like they're going to Tijuana to spend $$$ at the bars / clubs, thus would be much more likely to quickly pay the fee without too much resistance. With all that said, yes I had noticed my last couple of times visiting Tijuana this year that they look to be much less aggressive with the shakedowns.
Same experience with me the last couple of weeks. You no longer fill out the FMM cards. They fill it out. I have crossed into Tijuana at about 7 am, 4 pm, 8 pm, weekdays and weekends.

I've walked through 10 times in October nobody tried to sell me it. 3 times they looked at passports and waived through as the line got long. The other 7 times they stamped the book. 2 of them I had pre filled form, once they had me fill it out, other times just stamp and go. You can not ask them to not stamp, if you do it will certainly cause them to stamp. If you don't want the wife seeing Mexico stamp just say you forgot your passport and pay the 20 dollar daily fee which is unofficial and likely goes to their pocket. Do not call it a bribe as you don't want to sit in prison.

As promised I did trip #2 on 10/29 and I was more adventurous. I walked the alley many times, went into the smaller bars in the alley, which was a complete waste of my time. Did not go into HK at all this trip as there was a line of guys at the door all evening. Did have dinner at Azul, seafood pasta which was excellent and inexpensive.
There seemed to be a 40% cost of living increase across the board, taxis wanted $7 instead of $5 got them down to $6. Girl as Adelita's opening bid was $140 instead of $100, but I got her down to $100 and received meh service from her.
Took a walk around Chicago at about 9 pm all the girls in costumes, looked like the Twitty Twister from Dawn to Dusk..Did not know the going rate for taxis went up to $7?
Precovid days (pre March 2020) I used to walk from the border to HK only in the afternoon and if there were others that were walking (big guys) or take the taxi for $5.
This year (2022) I tried the colectivo (small bus that accommodates approx. 12 people) waiting left of the turnstile. For only 10 peso. You can get dropped off at Carrillo Puerto (3rd) and Constitution which is about 3 block walk to Ibiza.

Seakers, everyone at my hotel was in Tijuana to move to USA on Saturday. Germans, Russians etc. Uber wanted 8 dollars from the border to revoulcion street Friday afternoon. The 10 peso bus line was an hour long or more, gave up took the Hong Kong limo tipped a few dollars. In the future the limo will become more important as all transportation prices increase.

In looking at my passport just now, it's only been stamped on like 2 of my previous 5 visits I think. If they stamp anything they usually just stamp the FMM paper that I print out after filling out online. Have no clue about why they sometimes do and sometimes don't stamp the passports but I'd assume that stamping the passport is proper procedure. Never personally had any issues with them stamping my passport book (don't have a wife or significant other who'd look at my passport) but yeah, if it's that much of an issue for some people, it would seem the easiest solution would be to get the passport card as you just pointed out.

This year got a room at Ticuan to host one of my favorites. After I had my time with her I headed out around eight to walk the walk down to la zona. Never made it. Tijuana had a huge street party going on with all of Revo closed and tens of thousands of locals of all ages were flowing up and down the Ave. Roamed around and ate tacos and tipped beers for most of the night. I realized I can hit the red scene any given night but the people watching was beyond excellent. Had more than a few ladies, civies for sure, stopped to see if I wanted company. Took one back late and had a blast and woke up the next morning and rinsed and repeated. Definitely a different experience and was a bit funny when she walked into my master sweet and saw the filled but cold tub and towels everywhere from my earlier visitor. I just smiled and shrugged and we went to town on each other. Next morning I let her walk herself out and could tell she was a bit uncomfortable bailing from a hotel while the morning families were headed to breakfast as she was still in a costume like get up. I cruised down revo again and watched the massive cleanup. Had a $20 massage that was actually good and headed for the line which was quite long. Glad I have Sentri.

The plan was to buy 6 month pass but he was too busy in gringo line. If you go a lot it's easier to buy the 6 month pass, its 1 stamp per 6 months and no forms or lines for 6 months. Tijuana looked dead Wednesday. Maybe the big Halloween weekend I don't know. Tropical nothing doing but beer was only $3. Adelitas, beer $4 not crowded. In Adelitas I go to bar, wait for woman to come. Nothing good last few visits although Maria from Colombia is fun, sexy, looks good, and can handle some teasing. I think I made that mistake of telling them it was my first time crossing to Tijuana about 3 years back. Been back every year since and never been hit with the fee again. Just came back from a trip. The intel an HK female employee gave me on when one of my ATF's would return to work ended up being spot on. She found me within 15 minutes of arriving at the club, around 3 pm. Used to have her number but she lost her phone when she took off during the summer, so didn't have her new contact info. Bought her some drinks as we caught up with each other then headed upstairs for a passionate full on GFE session. They gave us a room all the way in the corner so it was quiet and relaxed with nobody walking around outside.
Couldn't stay late today, but I still passed by Adelitas and Chicago just to see what was doing. Adelitas actually had a few decent options, more than any other time in recent memory, this was probably around 5 pm. Thanks in advance.My opinion from experience is that the printed FMM does reduce the chances you get hit up for a $20/$30 fee, assuming you have a valid passport. (Though from what I hear, Mexican customs has in general been hitting people up a lot less often for that bribe in recent weeks.) Over the years I've never even once been hit up for that fee with a printed FMM and valid passport. IMO, the printed FMM gives the Mexican customs more of an impression that you're an experienced border crosser who knows what he's doing, not some newbie crosser who doesn't know he's not supposed to get charged a fee. So it would be my advice to cross with a printed FMM.
To your second question, I think non-hispanics (whites, blacks, asians, etc.) can get away with it sometimes but I personally wouldn't bet on it and wouldn't try it. Luke Powell (who clearly doesn't look Mexican) has mentioned being able to walk through that line sometimes, though being very fluent in Spanish might help his cause I don't know.
One thing you can do is, if you have a stamped FMM, whether it be 7-day or 180, you can exit Mexico and re-cross the border with it through the Mexican line regardless of your nationality for as long as the FMM is valid. I'm very clearly not Mexican but have never had issues re-crossing through the Mexican line with a valid FMM from a previous visit.

One is you don't need to stand there and fill out a form if they require one, you can just hand them yours and it's just bit quicker.
Two is it also saves the Mexican border patrol time in waiting for you to fill it out.
Three is it makes you look like you know what you're doing so if there was border guard who wanted to take a little advantage of a gringo. They maybe less apt to do that?
The other thing I would do is get a little passport card. It shows them that you come to Mexico often enough to get a card and not carry around a big-ass passport.
I normally don't present my printed out and signed form unless they ask for it (and maybe this is a mistake if I get stopped in Tijuana and asked for it).
The last time I went to Tijuana the border guard grabbed a paper FMM form she had, hand wrote my name and stamped it so fast I didn't even get a chance to pull out my printed FMM form! Then she just kept it and didn't give it to my to have.
Kind of odd but inconsistency is what we can count on at the border for sure.

Thanks in advance.Yes print it at home save yourself 7 minutes filling it out standing up in front of the desk. Having one or not won't change if he's gona stamp your passport. It also shouldn't change if they charge you you a 6 month pass or not which is $35. Because they are not supposed to be charging and unless you look completely gullible they won't try. In fact if you say you don't want to buy that I doubt they would send you back to usa. And if they did you can try again at the Otay border or wait 2 hrs and walk in again. This print at home pass is not for walling in on the Mexican line and any white guy asain or black guy has a 95% chancebof being stopped on the Mexican line. You can walk in on the Mexican line with the 6 month pass but he's still going to ask to see it 95% of the time. It just takes 2 seconds for him to look. The advantage of the pass is less stamps in your book and no waiting in gringo line. I guess you'd have to cross about 10 times every 6 months for it to be worth $35 dollars. If I had passport card I'd just do gringo line but the government is horrible could not give me a passport card could not write me a coherent letter explaining, why, I eventually cursed at them in a letter and told them to keep my dam money send me my passport back after spending 30 dollars in overnight mail and the price of the card.

Had a friend in the SoCal area, had never been to Tijuana, so we met up for a foray looking for fun. Enticed him with tales of great breweries, we got a room at Rizo. Quite favourably impressed. Crossed over about 11 pm after we'd made a couple of stops for beer already, waved past by border control as soon as they saw passports in hand, took Zona Shuttle in. Got a free Tropical beer card each on check in, so went to cash that out immediately. They brought us a couple of girls over who seemed OK, but mine had some GPS, starting her asking at 100, and his seemed a bit of a dead fish and lacking any figure. He got quoted 50 upstairs, but the meseroes were trying to tell him he had to drop another 50 on a bucket of ladydrinks too, which had him getting the hell out. I went to get food (quesadilla from the cart opposite Ibiza), and then found a cute Vanessa (I think) along La Gloria's wall, who offered up her back door for $40 in my room. I watched alot utube steamers in Columbia last two years, while it will be more easy to find a thin lonely, available girl to hang out with you for free even maybe, or few dollars, the streets were violent for a gringo. I'll offer my opinion. I'm a bit of a veteran now in both locations. Disclaimer: I do have a slight preferrence for MDE. But I want to give two thoughts.
1 - It's pointless to compare the two. At least not with a definitive answer. They both have pros and cons comparatively. But I would say the pro vs con depends on the monger and their preferences. So I'd say research and determine what you like. If HK is your speed, there is no HK in MDE. If you are into lengthier dates, MDE is where you should go. There are dozens of variables and plenty of fellow mongers to help you out. I'd just be aware of your "hunting" style.
2- I would never say MDE is more dangerous. Not sure I'd say Tijuana is more dangerous either. Yes, there is one area of MDE I would not wander around after dark. Beyond that, most of what you hear is overblown or speculation. Virtually all of the gringo areas in MDE are extremely safe. Here again, we all have different comfort levels. But if you avoid Centro in MDE at night, I don't think your odds of trouble are any higher in MDE.

I forgot to mention during my last trip I was questioned by local pd when I went to visit playa tijuana. First time it happened in the 4 trips I been there. Just thought maybe I'd share some advice and a heads up. So I was close to the beach near the boardwalk and I was looking for a nice area to take a picture. I came across some what of a alley that has steps that go up to the main street. I thought it would be a good spot since not a lot of people where walking up the steps. After a couple of minutes hanging out there and taking photos while I was moving around a portable $5 tripod for my phone I noticed 2 cops walking down the steps and sure enough they began asking me questions, what was I doing, where I was from, what do I do for a living, have I visited before etc. I didn't think of it at the time but I told them I've been to tijuana several times and everything has always been cool and no one's ever bother me. They could of taken that the wrong way. One of the cops asked me what I had in my hand and I explained to him it was a bluetooth clicker for the tripod to take pictures. After asking for my ID they informed me that they were doing random searches to look for any contraband or weapons and I said that's fine. I had a small cross shoulder bag on me and I opened it up for them, at the same time I was keeping my eyes on them making sure they wouldn't slip something in my bag. I had my wallet in there with like $200 usd and I was like shit I can kiss that money goodbye. He questioned me about some cigars I had and asked me if there was any illegal substance in it. But I kept calm and told them no and where I bought the cigars. To my surprise they they gave me my ID back and told me to have a good day. I thought for sure I was going to have to at least give some money up but apparently either not every cop down there out to get you or I just got lucky. Keep in mind there was 2 cops and I was alone in that pathway of stairs. They could of easily planted something on me and ask me to pay a fine to let me go. I was at HK club during an early morning for the finals for a 2018 World cup game that Mexico played at. And it was a blast. All the gals stopped dancing.
The club became a regular sports club for about an hour.

I get that for the games where Mexico is playing everyone in the club (including the workers) would be focused on that, but am thinking for the games not involving Mexico they'll have the music blasting with girls constantly approaching you. Would rather chill and focus solely on enjoying the game with other sports fans. With that said, I'll definitely still check out the Zona during the World Cup and at least see how it is.

Trying to find what the router for the purple striped van back to Centro is. ? I have taken the purple & white taxi van from Constitucion back to the border. There is a lot of good looking restaurants I would like to try that I just east of the Tijuana river?

Reporting back about an attempt to find a good massage parlour.
Was in Tijuana for a couple days and on the first full day I went in search of VivaMex and found it. HOwever, did not try it. I was talking to a local and said "Secret Massage" was good. I thought to give it a try and did, and it was terrible. It is on Miguel Hidalgo and Revolution in a yellow building. Repeat! NOT WORTH IT.

Seeing as how I'm near the Linda Vista trolley station I have always wanted to take it down to the border just to see what the trip was like and how long it took. I hadn't been on the trolley in damn near 10 years. So I went on it last night around 8 pm, arrived around 9 I think because I had to transfer from the green line to blue line. Everything was fine on the way there. It was on the way back, at about 20 til midnight when things got weird. About halfway through the trip a homeless man on the opposite side started smoking something out in the open. Nobody said anything to him. Since I was on the opposite end I couldn't smell what it was. Even still that wasn't too bad, but then a homeless woman got on with a disheveled look and came and stood right up to me. It was super awkward because there wasn't anybody else around. I had my AirPods in so I just ignored her hoping she would leave but she wouldn't budge. After about a minute she started talking to me. I told her I couldn't hear her because I was listening to music. She kept talking so I took my AirPods out and said look, you need to back off, you're in my personal space. I don't have any spare change or cigarettes, if that's what you're looking for. She then started screaming and cussing me out. I told her to back away as there was no reason for her to be standing so close to me. Thank God she actually backed away but she was still cursing me out. And then at another stop a couple other homeless guys came in and sat down a couple seats down from me and one basically keeled over and appeared to be dead. Wtf was going on here. Then the other one proceeded to start smoking crack right there in the open as if everything was normal. By the end I think I was the only normal person in there surrounded by deranged homeless people. Never again. At least not at night time. I honestly don't know how single women ride the trolley at night seeing as how as a man I felt uneasy about it. I would rather just drive into Tijuana or park near the border and walk over like I usually do.

Your trolleybstaion, us the one just 1 minute past old Town Station. So you didn't even see the worst of it. I used to take that route in the day time before covid maybe 30 days a year to get rental cars. It turned intona homeless haven even before covid. You really shouldn't of said anything to these people. Because they carry knives. They will stab you. Their entire life involves street beefs stabbings stealing from othwr homeless. Yes don't take it at night. It's safer during the day as it's full of Mexican teens and Mexican woman men going back to tijauana after a day of school and work. If you take from old Town don't take the route that goes tobsan ysidro. Take the other one that goes through gaslamp it has tourists and it doesn't go through to the homeless haven stops in the city area. But yes it's very dangerous, I feel way safer in Zona Norte these days than the trolley part of it is I can't run away on trolley. Last week a gang banging 27 year old from LA was telling stories of shootings, his 15 years in prison, and I overheard and laughed and said to guy next to me that this is better than tik tok. He didn't know what I said exactly but was pissed and was comming at me. But the other dude was a fang member himself who did many more years than the other kid and told him to stay away from us. As a result I do not take the trolly from old Town. I'll spend the gas and drive to 2 stops before the border. Too risky. I also stopped taking the nyc subway as that's also turned to a purge crime scene.

Of course you see homeless people and the like quite a bit but that doesn't really bother me. They're generally harmless.
My only suggestion would be to consider parking at one of the trolley stations much closer to Tijuana. I. e. , Palomar St. Or closer (Palomar St. Is where I always park and never had issues there). Still free parking and minimizes the time you're on the trolley. No more than 10 minutes.

After entering the US on foot at 3 AM, there were several people in the area that were trouble.
I think it's just a sign of the times, and not just the trolley. When I arrived at SAN, there was a woman screaming, punching and kicking the ATM near the entrance doors in Terminal 1. It went on for at leaat 5 minutes before someone took her away. Honest to God, I don't fear these incidents but I do regret them; it's as though the US is more dangerous than when I'm in Tijuana.

A few weeks ago the parking was so packed and so expensive on a Saturday I turned around and headed for a trolley lot. The first trip was a bit scarey as a dude who looked like the axe murder starts telling me from across the aisle I'm to close to him. The return trip I notice a guy wearing a big knife and his face masked up. Damn I feel much safer in Tijuana.
But since then I have used the trolley a few times. The free parking and the ease of having the trolley feet from where you exit mexico and delivered feet from your car is great. For sure I will use this option on a day of the week when I know parking in san ysidro will be a shit show.
The homeless & other weirdo's don't concern me. If you don't feel safe call transit security. But some girls have told me that they don't feel safe riding the trolley's or buses sometimes.

Whether it be on the San Diego trolley or the public transportation I used regularly for 15+ years on the East Coast prior to COVID (now I mostly work from home and don't use nearly as much). Sure, there are plenty of homeless / weirdos that use public transportation but they've never bothered me other than very occasional asking for some change.
But I've personally never felt "threatened" and have always felt comfortable with the trolley and other forms of public transportation. When I travel from the airport to San Ysidro, I usually have a backpack and small luggage (containing some valuables) and even still have always felt comfortable and never been bothered. Don't know if it's maybe different for me because I'm a minority (African-American) with an athletic build, LOL. But my thought regardless is if you park at a trolley station within 3 stops or so of San Ysidro, the shorter ride should minimize problems. When the trolley stops at a station you can also always get out of the trolley car you're on and move to the next one (which I've seen people do occasionally) if you feel uncomfortable.
With all that said I do want to point out the two craziest things I've ever seen when riding public transportation (both were close to home on a subway system I frequently use on the East Coast, not the San Diego trolley):
1) Guy sitting down openly masturbating through his pants during rush hour. The subway car was mostly full but he was towards the back so I was probably the only one who noticed as I was also sitting in the back across from him. He was stroking it through his pants so wasn't exposed or anything like that, but was stroking it pretty hard LOL.
2) Several years ago a heavyset woman who was clearly mentally ill gets on the subway car I'm on and starts talking to herself for a few minutes. Both situations were obviously ridiculously weird but both were more amusing to me than uncomfortable.
Tijuana is expanding the pedestrian border crossing. The pouring concrete for a new lane for pedestrians. It looked as though they going to install new railings Supposedly this is to reduce line cutting. The US custocustoms should either widen or install another crossing gate where people cross into the US. They need a separate line when they need to more closely examine someones documents. Another possibility would be to have separate line for people with passports or US citizens with them. It is also strange that the US customs has not reopened Pedwest. My guess is that the US customs feel that it is better to assign more officers to Ped-east to speed things up.
I also noticed that the construction workers have finally started pouring concrete for the sidewalks on Nino's Hero's. They were also digging a trench on Coonstitucion. I don't know why they did not redo the streets one at a time. It is ridiculous that they have been bare for over a month now.

Back in September the new border chief for San Ysidro said she was going to try to open more gates and get PedWest open ASAP, she still claimed it was staffing issues. The truth is that they are using that to process asylum seekers and they had to start using it to process the Venezuelan immigrants that the Biden admin one day decided not to let into the country any longer. Since they were full in Texas they would fly 200 a day to Tijuana to deport them.

I rode the trolly from the airport down on Wednesday afternoon. Caught the san Diego flyer free bus to the trolly station. The driver let me off before the trolly stop because he said he had to pee so I had quite a ways to walk. I arrived at the station just as the trolly was arriving. I looked for a familiar machine to purchase a ticket from and there seemed to be only new "cruiser" ones. I finally gave up and jumped on the trolly. I made it to San Ysidro without being checked but worried the whole way. I got on the trolly at 2:30 pm. Flight arrived at 2:00 and I as across the border by 3:45.

I'll make it real simple for the uninitiated. You pay once and get a two-hour transfer window. Get the Pronto app. I pull up the app on my phone, scan when I get on the 992 bus at the airport and simply get on the trolley at American Plaza station knowing that I'll exit at the San Ysidro station well before my two hour transfer window is up. It's so fuckin easy a caveman could do it.

The time before that I was told it was free at the airport.There's a shuttle bus specifically operated by San Diego's airport that offers FREE service from the airport to the Old Town trolley station. From there you can catch the Blue Line trolley to San Ysidro without having to transfer. You do have to pay $2. 50 for the trolley.
Alternatively, you can catch the regular San Diego MTS bus (bus number 992 or something like that) into downtown San Diego where you can transfer from the bus to one of the Blue Line trolley stations, depending on where you get off (American Plaza or City College I think. Both also Blue Line stops). The initial bus fare is $2. 50 but the transfer to the trolley is free if you're using the Pronto card.
The Flyer shuttle and MTS bus stops are in the same general area, but are in different locations.
I pretty much always go the MTS bus route because it puts you a bit closer to San Ysidro and you end up paying the $2. 50 one-way fare either way. The Old Town bus stop is several stops further away than the stops the MTS 992 bus takes you to in downtown San Diego.
A final route to consider if you really know your way around is to take the free rental car shuttle to the rental car terminal, which is within walking distance from the Middletown trolley station (might also be a free shuttle that goes there). From there take the Blue Line to San Ysidro. Also not an optimal route since it's further from San Ysidro than the downtown SD trolley stops. It's only the best route if you're already at the rental car terminal dropping off a rental car.
As far as free bus rides, there was a several week period last year when San Diego was converting from their old Compass card to the current PRONTO one where all bus and trolley rides were free. So maybe you're referring to that I don't know. Or maybe the person who told you that was referring to the free shuttle to Old Town.

Have had the app crash at least twice when the officer came up to check, both times they just walked off and checked the other passengers' tickets. Almost every time I have seen the fare check there has been someone on the trolley that was causing problems, I think they use the fare check as an easy way to get problem people off. I will say I do like the new system a lot better than the old one. I always take the trolley from San Ysidro into downtown and then often transfer to a bus to get where I am going for the day. With the new system you never have to worry about buying a day pass or just using a bunch of single fares with TXFR. I know it is only a couple of bucks a day, it was always more of that quiet disappointment when I would make the wrong choice on that first ride of the day.

I think they do it to keep homeless out too so more ticket checks in the downtown to a few miles south area.

I rode both ways from SAN to San Ysidro. I did not purchase a ticket for the ride down and was not checked. I did purchase a ticket on the way back to the airport and though two security people got of the train around the naval yard they did not check any ones tickets. I asked them some questions and they were very helpful.

Bus 992 may be a bit faster and save some trolly stops but I was being cheap and did not want to pay the $2.25 for the bus plus the trolly fare. LOL $3. 50 together to get to the border is 1 1/2 hours is very cheap.
I have not felt any concern on the trolly during the days. Late at night it might get a bit skechy.

My understanding is if you have the PRONTO card, the transfer from the bus to the trolley is free (you still have to scan when you get to the trolley so you can be tracked in the system as having valid fare but you won't get charged if you transfer within a 2 hour period). So you're not saving money I don't think by going the Flyer route unless you're paying by cash (in which case you can't get the free transfer from bus to trolley so it's cheaper to take the Flyer).

Come on guys!! Pay for your bus / trolley ticket or use a Pronto Card. Don't you think it's worth not receiving a violation from the transit authorities? Why quibble over a $5 round-trip fare to the border and back or who is checking tickets or not? If they don't check your Pronto Card the balance amount will remain on your card for future use. Some of you pay that or more just to get from the border to Zona Norte. Is it really that serious? Just pay the $5.

Or, you can get an expedited passport renewal. (Mine took 3 days.) You'll need to somehow document that your travel date is coming up soon, so check out the state department's website.

You should be ok.I guarantee that you will have no problem whatsoever. Two months ago I went down there with a friend from Texas on 3 different occasions and he had a one year expired passport. They didn't even ask him any questions and let him in. This included once at Otay and twice at San Ysidro.
Generally saw a lot of new chicas in all the clubs. And the same chicas in the alley. Clubs were crowded and the street was sparse because it got cold pretty quick once the sun went down.
Watch out for the sidewalk area that got dug up. They are running sewer pipes through and some of the holes they dug were pretty deep. Tijuana has multiple bars in one very small area that you can roam between and when your in the bar you can feel completely comfortable. You don't need to be looking over your shoulder for safety reasons, you don't need to worry about someone drugging your drink. (yes you don't want to be totally unaware of your surroundings) I am just saying I believe Tijuana is much safer.
You can come as a solo and feel very comfortable. From my research and YouTubers talking about Medellin I have not gotten that feedback. Luke who's posts on YouTube has been to both and this is what I remember his posts describing as well.
If you speak Spanish very comfortably and you don't look like a gringo. Then. Maybe you would feel at much more ease in Columbia but I think Tijuana wins hands down for the better of the two. I have been to CR as well and enjoyed some "fun time", but while the girls were beautiful, it was not anything compared to the vibe at HongKong and Zona Norte / Tijuana red light district.

Decided to make another trip to the border on the trolley from Linda Vista even though I said never again last time, but this time I left a little earlier. 1. When choosing a destination I go back a long time to see how it is. So when reading about CDMX I would always respect what JC from that board would say since he basically lived in CDMX. He's the one that would talk about CDMX not having places like HK due to the law of no third party making money from sex.

Just wanted to share for anyone flying out of Tijuana using CBX (cross border express bridge).
For the second time we parked on the street for free! Here is how you do it.
There is a several block industrial area within a few blocks of the CBX / Tijuana airport on the US side. If you go there a bit early and drive around a bit (and don't mind a 5 or 10 minute walk to the terminal you can just park on the street which I have done two times now.
If you have someone with you just drop them off with the bags first, then drive around and find parking and walk to the terminal.
See attached picture with red line showing some of the streets to find parking for free. (I can't believe this will last to many years. It's too good of a deal). Kind of like $80 hookers at HK. Get it while you can as it's rare!
Plan be is the overflow parking for the CBX is at the Southwestern College Center 8100 Gigantic St. ($15/ day and they have a 5 minute shuttle to the CBX and shuttles run every 15 minutes). We didn't need to use it but it's good to know it's available if needed.

Generally speaking, if the small bar (Like La Gloria) has an associated hotel, the girls will need to use that one. I think theirs is Hotel Garcia. So, you may not be able to go back to Cascadas.
I'm not positive about all the tiny places. I think they all have some sort of relationship with specific hotels, but you may get lucky. I just wouldn't count on being able to use Cascadas.

Just returned from Tijuana yesterday afternoon. The HK driver takes us back to the border to a line that I wasn't familiar with. I straight up ask him "is this the line to cross the border"? He says yes. I'm tired and not really paying attention so I just go to the back of the line and wait. I just assumed the pedestrian line was probably longer than usual so was extended out to an area I wasn't familiar with.
After 30 minutes or so of waiting I realize that it's actually not the pedestrian line, it's the line to catch one of those Tijuana to SD buses that cross the border (I'd never taken one of these buses before). I was disappointed because I'd just assumed I was in the pedestrian line but I'd already been waiting 30+ minutes in that line so I wasn't going to get out at that point to go to the pedestrian line. Ended up costing $10 for a bus ticket, which wasn't bad at all. The entire time it took to cross from when I first got into line to getting past the USA customs official was around 90 minutes.
As the bus was driving us to the border checkpoint, I saw a longer pedestrian line than I've ever seen in my life. So some might be trying to use Otay to save time but it's actually longer.
I've seen a FB page mentioned a few times in different articles in the local paper but never tried it. It's "cómo está la línea hoy", I imagine it's in Spanish so you might have to do some basic translation but with the numbers posted I would think most anyone could figure it out. The good thing is it has lots of members and it's supposed to be updated from those in line or have just crossed. Maybe this will help for those of you deciding if it's worth it to leave the Zona or those of you that need to catch a flight.

They were supposed to deport them back to Mexico if caught, the first report was that they were going to deport 200 per day to 5 different cities, Tijuana being one. It's seems they in forced this for a short time but different reports I've read is that now it's up to CBP officers on Weather! To let them in. Unfortunately I can't verify this.
#5. Now it's been a few years since I crossed but I was under the impression that they have cameras now when you talk to the officers for facial recognition in order to help speed the process. So I would think this has reduced people trying to use the "using a different persons Visa that they look like" game. Even when crossing the Sentri the other day I noticed the cameras where you hold your card out and the camera 1 said driver and camera 2 said passenger. So it seems like they are doing that for cars now as well. I remember when the new port director took over she mentioned one way to speed up crossing times was with this type of updated technology.

They've been telling that staffing BS for some time now. The port director even came up with the claim that it was also due to new hires not getting trained or something because of COVID. Also if Title 42 does go away it will only get worse.
Also for those in California the governor went to Mexicali last week to visit shelters and was with the Baja governor. He said he would continue to fight for them and helping them to come to the US. The next day he goes on with the media and cries that the immigration policies are hurting California because of the costs. So he only declares things a problem when he is looking for the federal government to give him money for problems that he caused.

Is there a bathroom on the bus?No, at least not on the "bus" I took 2 days ago. The "bus" I took was more of an enlarged van that looked exactly like the one in the link below. If you have large enough luggage (which I did) they make you load it in the very back of the bus before you hop on.
At least when I took it a couple days ago, once you get on, it doesn't take very long to get to the border. The bus goes through a special line that's reserved I guess for tour groups and the like.
I'm fairly patient so don't mind pedestrian lines up to 2 hours, but if I think the wait will be longer than that, this will be my go-to option going forward.

Everyone from Tecate to Tijuana is crossing the border to get to the San Ysidro Outlet mall to do their Christmas shopping. The lines are going to be a pain in the ass if you do you have Sentri.

I probably should not post this technique / trick. But here is what can easily be done to expedite your walk across the Tijuana border at San Ysidro.
Note: I already said I shouldn't post this. So don't beat me up. And I do not condone anything illegal. This is just my trick I discovered. Here it goes:
The Goddamn US Passport Card AND the protective sleeve will get you past the guards and Mexican customs / police when you get dropped off by taxi up by the overpass and see a huge line. Just confidently make eye contact and say "Sentri" and show them the BACK of your US Passport card. The back of your US Passport card looks very similar to the Sentri. Plus the protective cover IS exactly the same one used. Walk up the Sentri. Then buy a Soda at the final shop. Install your earbuds and magically get in the front of the line and maybe hand that soda to the ladies singing or selling chicklets in the left line next to you. Works every time. Like magic you saved 2 hrs. Note: Don't USE the Sentri line! Don't stand in the right lane (HandiCap) Just skip to the front and blend in to the left while chatting with the locals.
P.S. Yes I know some don't have a passport card. Well then pay the extra $30? And get one.

Most Americans can not just cut the line and not deal with screaming people. I tried to move up after 3 hrs once, just moving up 20 feet caused 20 guys to verbally attack me to the point I had to retreat. That day took 4 hrs I went home and did global entry that eventing. Unless your a give no fuxx kinda guy you won't be ready for the people yelling. I have seen line cutters use the sentri, with something or another, maybe fake, maybe expired, maybe someone else's I don't know, then right before the last check point they run over to the non sentri line. If you do this and get caught ubprobablybeill never be given sentri.
I have officially solved the line problem. Take southwest every time. They have flights everyday at 6 or 7 in the morning. You can cross over at 4 am and catch the blue trolley at 4:34 and catch your flight. Spirit and frontier don't have early flights available at that time.
So at the last minute the PedWest was going to be reopened at 6 am 12/21. Supposedly since Title 42 was ending. The Supreme Court ruling made CBP change those planes and it will continue to be closed. So I think that's proof it's not a staffing issue. Not sure what plans they have if any when asylum seekers come after Title 42 unless they just let them all without making them wait and just trusting they will appear to court later.

Nobody has to show up to any asylum. Hearings. Its probably good to try because it may or may not be better to have citizenship. For instance it will allow you to travel to your real country a few months a year. But many places don't require papers to work. LOS Angeles just made a law for government jobs no papers needed. In most states you can have accessed buy a home open a business no papers. Health sinsurance car insurance, most New Jersey and long Island and upstate ny suburbs have become predominantly Spanish speaking. Not from Mexicans. The benefit of no papers is you get more things for free and can go to jospital when sick and like up half million medical bill and not have to pay it. 90% the alumni speakers will never receive asylum. At some point 30% people in isa will not have papers.

This is a awful idea. For starters the mexican police are only checking ID anyway 10% of the time. Most Americans can not just cut the line and not deal with screaming people. I tried to move up after 3 hrs once, just moving up 20 feet caused 20 guys to verbally attack me to the point I had to retreat. That day took 4 hrs I went home and did global entry that eventing. Unless your a give no fuxx kinda guy you won't be ready for the people yelling. I have seen line cutters use the sentri, with something or another, maybe fake, maybe expired, maybe someone else's I don't know, then right before the last check point they run over to the non sentri line. If you do this and get caught ubprobablybeill never be given sentri.Will add that as I was taking the SDTJ bus from Tijuana to the border this past Sunday afternoon, we passed by the (several hours long) pedestrian line. Near the front of the line there was a prolonged fist fight that broke out between a couple of dudes in line, which involved several people. Including even a couple of older women nearby. Trying to break it up. Provided quite the entertainment for a few minutes for all the onlookers on the bus LOL. The fight actually broke up and then started over again 2 or 3 times. Eventually one of the women yelled up to the Mexican National Guard, who were visible from all the way up in the area where we all exit customs into Mexico (I think most of you are familiar with that general area. After the customs check and the bag screen you walk out to an area outside where there are always multiple Mexican National Guards just standing around.) One of the guards came down the stairs with one of those big-ass rifles they always carry and walked into the line towards the fight to break up the commotion. But by the time he got down, one of the guys involved in the fight had already walked away quickly towards the back of the line, out of sight.
Point in telling the story is we suspected the fight initially started over one of the dudes trying to jump the line, though we couldn't be 100% certain from a distance on the bus. But that definitely provided some solid entertainment on the bus ride to the border. A grandma walks past, the 12 yo five foot grandson was behind like 7 feet the cop tried to stop the kid. He kept saying he was with his grandma and he did not hesitate, at all, as soon as the cop put his arm put, to shove the cops arm away three times. It was pretty funny. He put that cop in his place like a boss.

This does not include airfare or other misc travel costs but everything once I cross the border. This would include hotel, vip card, food, drinks, girls, tips & hotel deposits since you don't get back until your going home.
On average, I usually stay 3 nights. I do trade in dollars for pesos before crossing the border for food and street girls. I will also probably keep $50-$100 in $1 bills since its convenient for tips & buying my own drinks.
If I trade $150 for pesos and have $50 in $1 bills. I'm down to $700. A VIP card & hotel deposit can bring my total down to under $500.

$500 for three days? Sounds like you'd be spending a lot of time basically hanging around and doing nothing. When I plan a trip, I take the number of times I expect to take a girl upstairs and multiply that by $200, and add $30 a day for meals and incidentals like water. Hotel, VIP, room deposit, etc. Gets added on top of this.

Usually stay 3 nights ($300) and session once or twice a day and the money works out. The hotel I stay at has free breakfast which I load up on and so I just pay for food once a day and for coffee. So food costs for me are max $20 a day.

If it's the carrying cash that concerns you and you're staying at Cascadas, would strongly consider paying for the room at Cascadas and for the VIP card with credit instead of card. That's what I've done for several years now (in part for the same reasons as you. Not comfortable carrying that much cash around) and not once had an issue. You even get a few bucks back assuming you've got a credit card with rewards LOL. Paying the hotel / VIP with credit frees up the cash you're comfortable carrying around for other stuff.
