Your right about the surroundings. As I was walking back to my hotel Saturday night I seen one guy get tackled outside of a club. I nearly got taken out by the scuffle, but my quick reflexes threw me into the street to get around. On the way back to LZN the next morning I walked by the same club entrance and seen drips of blood all over the side walk. Reality set in for a second to keep me on my toes. Also I was with a buddy of mine so the 2 of us together made it seen safer.

Well, a few posts before a gringo wrote that got a sg for 100 pesos.
But my point is to try to get a better cost-benefit ratio. May not be able to lower the 200 pesos but can find a way to get more for his money.

You're in a touristy town probably won't be finding street girl prices. But I have enjoyed the strip clubs Bada Bing, Bada Boom and Prestige, you can have sex or take the girls back to your place. Anyway, I will probably not be getting down to Ensenada any time soon (at least not for a couple months) but I will keep this board informed of the local action.
I have not yet been to Bada Bing but I will get around to it. I will attempt, in the next months, to write a more complete guide to the area's actions.
So far what I know is that this town, although rather sleepy and sedate, is host to Spring Break and the two big clubs on the beach (Club Iggys, and Papa's & Beer) become the place to be. There is also a Concert and Beach event called Mexicali en la Playa (Late July) in which a large mass of overheated inland Mexicans come to cool off at the beach.
There are many hotels in town but I don't know which have hourly rates. Learning this would, no doubt, tell me where to find the street walkers. The cheapest hotels here are about 200 pesos / night. The big hotels like Rosarito Beach Hotel are total tourist traps with prices to exceed American hotels. If one is staying long I suggest renting an apartment, not a hotel. Apartments here are cheap. One can find an apartment on or very near the beach for $250-300 (US) easily. A few blocks from the beach it is not impossible to find places for $150 / mth.
But this is all boring logistics. My next report in a week will hopefully be filled with the sort of action we all want to hear. And with some pictures too.

With one x-ray machine and up to 20 lanes of crossers, during peak times it could cause significant delays when most of the Mexican crossers are carrying nothing more than their lunch and most tourists are carrying dirty laundry. If they think you're a smuggler you go to secondary).

Still not getting why you guys are talking in $s instead of pesos.Everything in the mongering zone is quoted in US dollars. A lot of people think of a 10:1 currency ratio, but that isn't true. Right now it is more like 13:1. Yesterday I exchanged 400 dollars and got back 5200 pesos (Costco in Chula Vista). If a SG offers "20 dollars for me and 5 dollars for the room" you used to be able to get it for 200 pesos and 50 pesos. That no longer works (at least not for me). The street girl rooms are now typically 60 pesos or 5 dollars. One currency advantage I've found is a girl may offer 20 dollars normal or 30 dollars sin ropa, refuse 200 peso normal but accept 300 pesos sin ropa. I'm not sure that is an advantage at all, it wasn't too long ago that I was getting sin ropa for 200 pesos. Yesterday my HK drink was either 4 dollars or 44 peosos. Similar ratio at Adelitas. I find a slight advantge of paying in pesos, but dealing with dual currencies is a pain in the neck and I don't think it is worth the effort. I'll probably switch back over to dollars.

It is my favorite time of year to spend time in the Zona. The girls seem to be in a good mood and the clubs usually offer some free food. Decided to head down to Tijuana and had a disappointing time. There was quite a few SG's out, but I was disappointed by the quality. She change her hair from straight to curly. Paulette also changed her clothing style & possibley her makeup. Many of the chicas cange their looks often. I didn't think it was her at first, either. A bit so maybe you do not have to search so much;
Outside the terminal in SD look for the 992 bus, I think it runs every 15 minutes or so. I think that for $ 5. 00 you can buy a day pass, ask the driver, that will include the trolley. Take the 992 to America Plaza (Kettner & Broadway) , next to Sand Diego Amtrak. Get on the Blue line to San Ysidro / Tijuana. You will get off at the last stop. Look for the people walking over the bridge and follow them. This is the cheapest way to get there and will take about an hour and a half from the time you get on the bus. You can also rent a car, but do not go past the off ramp with the big yellow sign warning you about the last exit before Mexico. You can also take a cab.
Over the bridge turn to the right (follow the crowd) and go through two turn styles. You are now in Mexico. If you go straight ahead you will come to the yellow cabs ($5) , or you can turn right and you will see a McDonald's where you can catch a white cab. You may be able to get a white cab for $3-5, but for your first time you may want to take the yellow cab. Tell them you want to go to Hong Kong. Do not let them tell you that it is closed, or they know a better place. They are open, and the places they will take you are not better.
Once in the Zona there are five main Gringo haunts. Hong Kong, Adelitas, Tropical, Las Chavelas, and Chicago (after 10 PM at night). All of these are basically on the same block. If you know Spanish you may want to try out some of the more local haunts, but for you first time without a wingman I would stay with the five above.
There are hotels for the bars that are also used for short time ($12-15 per HH). You can get a room in them starting about $30. 00 per night. If you want to stay away from the action there are several on Ave. Revolucion Hotel Nelson, Espana, Caesars, and probably the best deal for a very nice Hotel Ticuan ($65 or so) per night. It is just south of Ave. Revo on Calle ocho.
If ladies smell newbie on you you will pay the newbie Gringo Tax. Ninety-five percent of the ladies will go for one-half hour for $60 or less. If you choose use peso's since many ladies will take 600 pesos ($50@12-1) instead of the $60 USD. Ladies drinks in the bar are generally about $7. 50, although if they want brand Tequila, etc, it will cost more. Watch for the mesero's at Hong Kong they are very good at dropping chips, plates of food, etc. On your table, and then giving you back change which include buying what they left. Hand it back to them before you pay. Watching the ladies and how they drink the ficha's will tell you much about how your session will be with them. If they pour them down, they will also probably hustle you in the room. If they take their time, they are probably enjoying their time with you and it will probably be a better session.
This is all just IMO, so it doesn't mean much. I'm going to try it out this weekend though.

There was something going on about 4:30 this afternoon. I walked into the zona and a motorcycle cop was parked in the middle of the intersection at Constitucion and Primera not allowing vehicles through. From the top of the hill I could see more than a normal amount of police vehicles close to the alley. I walked over to the corner of 1st and Niños Heros to check on a SG and there were two city cops talking loudly on their radios.

We decide this is the area we want to be in for the next two days. Hotel Nelson was right between the two places we would be walking to (zona and car).
I now exchange my money to pesos. The alley chicas are giving me prices from 250-300 pesos.
I got the 15 min. Starfish treatment and the no take off the top crap (I had no one to warn me).
Hong Kong had the best strip show, Adelitas was the highest priced and Chicagos was my favorite.
Three weeks later we return, after digesting all that had happened, with a game plan. 1. DO NOT get drunk away from the hotel.
2. Find chicas for the hotel room at night.
3. Ask about everything before paying.
4. Stop wondering around late night solo (this was mainly for my dumb ass)
Figuring 3x-4x what they were asking then was fair, so 1000 pesos sounded like a happy number.
I was hooking my freinds up with this amount at first. They spread their wings in finding chicas on their own but was paying $120-$150.
TJF gets a "frequent flyer " discount that he has earned so I guess it is unfair to use his price in my calculations.
I will try for a little less but not 600 pesos.
800-1000 pesos for her time should workout well for both of us.
Yes I do end up spending a little more total (eat, dance) but it is my choice and not part of the deal but a bonus after she agrees. I do love the company / tour guide of a female.

Based on this post, I'm trying more modest deals. 600 pesos for 3 hours in a good motel, following its purchase system. My results were modest. About 12 paraditas surveyed, only about 5 accepted, and of those only 3 accepted full GFE. Not one girl in the alley accept my offer, girls were accepted in other streets.

Just got back Tijuana. It rained all morning so I got a chance to witness how Tijuana works during rainy days. Basically people were getting into town later than normal. There were only about 1 or two girls standing in front of hotels. A few more began arriving at 11am but many regulars had not shown up. All bars were open.
There was a 10 minute wait at the border around noon.
I would suggest going down on rainy days getting served and leaving. No stress. It is a buyer's market.

SpartanUsed to be that you could arrive around 11:00 - 12:00, have some fun, get back to the border at 2:00 - 2:30 and waltz across. But those days stopped a couple of years back.
So, despite it being a royal pain in the ass, just get a SENTRI card and kwitcherbitchin. Last Wednesday, got to the border at about 5:00pm. OMG. The line was all the way back tothe end of the sidewalk, but hadn't yet started to double back on itself. I figure a minimum of 1. 5 hour wait, and the bus line was full of buses too.
I whipped out my SENTRI card, walked to the head of the line, went inside, and literally spent about 2 minutes in line. So, these days, if you cross during the day, these cards are invaluable. If you cross in the middle of the night, then they're unnecessary.
Got down to the Zona around 2:30pm. Walked around for awhile and finally decided to go with Marietta for $25 CBJ and sin ropa. The BJ was fairly disappointing. Marietta did not go down deep enough. Saw basically the same SG's as last time. I just wish I could find another good regular in SD.

So, I sat, drank a couple of beers, waited, then I was allowed to leave. I don't know if it was a raid to check on working girls license, or drugs in another bar or whatever. But, I never saw any drugs in any of the bars that I had entered.
- Chicago Club was dead. I was the only customer, and about 6 girls, and only the 2 oldest ones spoke to me. I had 1 beer and left.
- I did not get stomach sick from the street food.
- Overall, the price of the Club girls does not seem really cheap (about $24 / hour for hotel, and $120 / hour for the girl: $144 / hour, round up to $150 / hour).
- I think better thing to do with Club girls is take them for 30 minutes ($12 for hotel, $60 for girl; $75 total). If she's good, keep her in mind for another day (or later that day) and then take her for 1 hour (but only if she did great in the 30 minutes session).
- My problem is I like to enjoy a full 50-60 minutes of sex (the touching, teasing, tickling, kissing, etc) , and 20-25 minutes does not leave room for foreplay but for the Club girls, because they are so expensive, it is probably best to go for 30 minutes first to find a more playful and satisfying girl.
- The pricing of the street girls is MUCH better, and I did see SOME hotties. But I will need to brush up on my Spanish to be sure to tell them what exactly I want. I will explore this more on my next visit and let you guys know how it goes (in May).

Good advice in general below, but if you are coming in from out of town, my advice, with 40 yrs of experience, is FORGET the Ticuan, nice place for tourists but 90% of the girls you meet never heard of it and won't go there, so you are cutting down your selection 90%.
The Tijuana scene is a red light 4x3 block area where it is legal, the cops (theoretically) protect the girls the hotels and the clubs, and 90% of the girls won't leave that safe area unless they have known you for a long time, so now you are going to have to rent a fleabag room for $5 for 15 minutes or $10 for 30 minutes to do the deed.
WHY? LOL.
Best bet: Walk across the border, grab a yellow cab 50 mts in front of the gate, go DIRECTLY to the Hong Kong Club. 10 minute ride for $5, pay $50 for a VIP card at the HK front desk, then walk right upstairs to the Cascadas Hotel, get a regular room for about $40, Jaccuzi suite for $65, nicer and cleaner than the Ticuan. It is the only place the HK girls are allowed to go, AND you can enter with any s / g, who will think you area high class guy for not making her go in the stinky $5 room. The place was completely remodeled over 5mm a yr ago and most of these cheapskates you are talking to won't spring for an extra $20 for the nice rooms, LOL.
The jacuzzi suites are on the higher floors, very little noise from the club below. Great restaurants on the street, clean food, room service, if you are coming from out of town why fuck around to save $20? You got everything there on ONE BLOCK. Check out the pic of the room with the champagne and jacuzzi that's the actual room = $85 MINUS 20% for the VIP card. $20 higher Friday Saturday, Immaculate and safe, and you don't have to go gallivanting around in taxis. The street girls stand right outside the door to the Cascadas. After a coupla nights there, WITH 200+ to choose from within 100 mts of your room, you will know the whole area, have lots of friends, and THEN you may decide to try somewhere else.

Travel Addict is right, for a one or two night trip staying at the cascades is your best bet. But for longer trips I prefer to stay out of the zona as I do enjoy other aspects of the city and it's good to be away from the hustle and bustle of the zona while I'm trying to sleep.

There is no single hotel that is perfect for everything. Street girls won't go to Ticuan because of the distance and they want to stay in their comfort zone. Escorts won't go to Cascadas because they don't want to go into the zone (I just learned that a week ago from a recent post and found it to be true from personal experience the next day). Not all street girls will go to the Cascadas, many want to stay at their own dive hotel.

OK. I got down to Tijuana around 10:30am. I changed over $40 to pesos at the border. This is highly recommended as they do NOT charge any fees. Many of the spots in Tijuana charge fees even when they say they do not.

But, yeah, you cannot google translate an SG's spellings. She was spelling phonetically. I usually do not try to ask SGs to write because it can be an awkward moment.
Many of the people we deal with in Tijuana are at the bottom of Mexican society.
For example, I have found that lots of times, SGs cannot understand my Spanish because THEY are educationally deficient. They make this face to demonstrate that I am not making sense. But the educated Mexicans I deal with in San Diego have no problem at all. We must always remember that many of the people we deal with in Tijuana only have the upper-hand (seemingly) because they speak Spanish fluently and are residents. But in terms of Mexican society in general these people get snubbed, cheated, etc, by Mexican elites.
I used to get angry about being treated unfairly (like the time they refused to let me use the bathroom in McDonalds. The racist a-hole Mexican, see I am still a bit angry) but now I just laugh, cross the border and enjoy my relatively good life.

Somtimes I will walk from Hong Kong (alley side) to the arch to the school girls and back to Hong Kong 3 round trips without a break and then do it again in 2 or 3 hours. I go up one side of the street and down the other, it is exercise between rounds. I seldom walk Ninos Heros. Then I will do it again and again over the next few days. I have never been confronted, except by the normal street girls, beggers, doormen, gum sellers, and very few obvious con artists. I've never lost a single peso to a pickpocket or become afraid of a single encounter. I'm an obvious gringo and have worn clothes ranging from nice office casual stuff to old and stained construction clothes. The only difference I notice from the first pass to the last pass is that the street girls pay less attention to me after they know that I'm not interested.
I'm wondering if your appearance and actions are related to the confrontation. And, have you been confronted more than one time?
I agree walking around the Zona has never been a problem except for the banditos of course. I usually walk around 2 or 3 times to see what girls are available. I usually don't stay to long in the Zona, because only interested in the girls. Tijuana is kind of depressing to me. So I don't spend much time down there.

It takes years to get good service from SGs but it is possible. I have a few that I have established relationships with over *time. It wasn't until my last trip that I was able to get them to agree to off premises 45 min sessions at another zona hotel. I can get that for $50 45min plus $7 for the hotel. It is not far from a BG session but you never know when the cum boy will knock at the bar. At least on the streets you and the girl have no middle man to judge your time for you.
The best way to get good service by SG's is TO BE IN THE ZONA OFTEN. If you come by for 3 days every 6 months you won't get it.
Hargow is there often enough. Maybe there are other reasons for him receiving less than desirable service.

Personally I have never seen any pimps in the Zona watching the girls. Some of the hotels have lockers for the girls. I am not sure what arrangement the girls have with the hotels. I am guessing that they recieve free rent.

Some of the girls are willing to go to other hotels. So it's hard to say. Some of the girls live outside the Zona. My guess is that the girls have arrangement for a room and board. The hotel owners also probably help to pay their travel expenses when they first arrive in Tijuana.

If those 1 or 2 SG's fail you then what? I break it down into sex acts. Some girls are only good for BBBJ's. Others I would only let RIM me. Then there are the chicas that let me lick their ass. Choosing the right chica depends on what sex act I want to do that day.
The zona is not a good place to be picky. You should consider a trip to South America or even Central America.
