I guess you have fuck to learn how to ball in Sosua.
While what you write is true, he also has the balls to admit his errors. Hopefully, with time and you guys' guidance, he will ameliorate! I for one, enjoyed his report even though as a solo traveler, I shudder at the thought of a group tour.

Great read, James. I think first extended newbie report since PuntingGeorge? These are the sorts of reports that are most helpful to newbies and to those contemplating a visit.
So where were you doing her if not at the villa?
How were the girls at Pica Flor? Someone suggested they were mostly on the thick and pallid side, suited to Dominican and Afro-American tastes.Since we were 9 deep and the villa only had 8 rooms and I was the last man to buy in I had to procure my own lodging. I found a decent deal on a room that was less than ten minutes walk away but when I headed with the chica we called our driver. Quickest 300 pesos he has ever made haha.
As for the girls at Pica Flor I believe there is something for everyone. I suggest you arrive early to get a big selection. Also, when you travel to different parts of the world I would assume you want to have different experiences as well might as well try what the "Dominican and Afro-American tastes" is all about.

James, thanks for the great reports and being a stand up guy about some of the mistakes you made, everyone on this board made plenty regardless of what they may say. FYI, Pica Flor has free pick up and delivery, no need to pay a girl for a taxi, if the owner knew she tried to get you for taxi fare I am sure she would be fired, all the girls have the number to the place so they can call for a ride, they have five vans that they use. The owner there runs a VERY tight ship and insists on the girls giving a pleasurable experience, he has to if he is going to charge those high prices and he has been in business for 15+ years. One of the girls we took for TLN was allowed to leave early by us and instead of going back to Pica Flor she went out to a club, the owner found out somehow and fired her the next day and she was arguably one of his hottest girls.

I'm sure getting a good deal is the idea anywhere you go, and from the sounds of it that's the going price at Pico Flor. So I don't think we got taken there. Whether this business will survive or go the same way as Passions and CMP remains to be seen. The key issue is always "trafficking" or in Spanish "proxenetismo" which means third parties making money from prostitution and there is a certain amount of politics involved as to whether the procurator fiscal decides to collect evidence and make a case of it. Various posters here seem to be presenting anecdotal evidence that there is proxenetismo involved.
A place can look like a real restaurant, but if the menu is extensive and the service is very slow, it could indicate that the food is actually being prepared and paid for somewhere else and delivered via the back door.
Personally I do not care for these kind of places and the people who run them, but for visiting tourists the risk of getting caught up in a law enforcement raid is pretty slight.
Yes, picaflor has that connotation in Puerto Rico as well. In some other Latin countries, it is mariposa, which means butterfly. Thai hookers use 'butterfly' too, to mean you want to take out somebody else today instead of them. In Argentina they say mujeriego for a guy who would rather be with a different woman every night than the same damn one.

Elvis has been in the business for 15+ years so they aren't hurting for business believe me, a great deal of his business is from customers that don't even step foot in the building, I've seen vans full of girls leave the place to god knows where without being picked up by people in the bar. First time in Sosua day 3.
We decided to hit up Sosua Beach during the day and hope for some day time action. Fun place, a few day walkers but nothing worth propositioning. Also since it was a religious holiday they weren't supposed to serve bottled drinks. I. e. Beer, liquor.
After a few hours at the beach we head to Playero super market. On the way there I see a tight bodied chica and I wave her over. Unfortunately her smile was beyond repair and had to pass. But I did get good info that Classico won't open til midnight due to it being the Friday before Easter. She said go to cabaret, many locals will be there.
My group decide to hit up Cabarete early around 830. Our driver asks why we are going so early. It turns out the party doesn't start til midnight in cabaret either and he tried to warn him but didn't listen. It also turns out they have the same liquor ban til midnight in Cabarete as well. Since we were the only group at this particular beach bar / resto we worked out a deal on a bottle of scotch. There was a catch though, we were forced to keep the bottle in a closet behind the bar and go in two at a time to pour our own drinks haha. Crazy situation but didn't bother us. At least they found a work around to the liquor ban.
During the few hours we were there leading up to midnight the crowds grew and the worth while chicas started to show up. They tried to catch eyes with our group but nothing stuck out. In the mean time we meet a local who says he has the line on chicas, we explain we've seen the girls at PF already. He says that he'll work it out to where 30 girls show to our villa at anytime and we can choose whoever we like. Sounds like a plan! What's the worse that can happen? We clear it with the villa host and he says "of course happens all the time" haha. I'm thinking to myself why didn't we do this from night 1! Either way it's going to happen tomorrow which is Saturday and our last day.
1230 am rolls around and we don't choose a chica from cabarete and head for Classico.
Once we get to Classico the talent was lack luster. Half the group head to PF the other half head to bed alone. I choose to head home alone. No biggie.
Looking forward to another great nights rest. Now it's a countdown til 2 pm where supposedly 30 plus girls are to show up.

I would find it very restrictive and confining these days to be obligated to group activity. But I've been there in the past and have some great memories of some great companionship.
For me Sosua is an individual experience, with no time table, and no schedule. You might try that, down the road.
But you are an optimistic young guy, open to the new, and obviously are an asset to any group.

I have never been to Pica Flor, but all the other places I am sure are registered businesses, so they have already published that information themselves.They don't post the owner's name and how he "guarantees service", and the details on exactly how he divides up the monger money between him and his 30 hoes. .

Yes prostitution is legal in a way that it is not legal in the US, but it is considered to be a necessary evil, and is not approved of by most people; it is not considered a great business to get a franchise in, or an investment opportunity, there are no college courses to get a diploma in sex industry marketing.

They develop a comfort zone where they think they can do anything they want and have no problem testing the limits. They think they are hustlers even while getting hustled.
There are traps you have to see coming to avoid them, no matter how good they sound. Saying no and being unpredictable works for me. Never go to a private residence that is having a party with more than 5 tricks because certain dynamics come into play the larger the group gets. The touts are pros at what they do because they do it all day. If you can't say no from the beginning to set boundaries then you are basically setting yourself up for them. Recently I was in Boca chica and the touts were rolling this dude from NY hard. From showing him bars that charged him 700 pesos for a drink to girls he was paying 5 k. Every time I saw this dude he had a trail of touts with him smiling. The third day I saw dude walking around Boca Chica with a handkerchief covering the lower half of his face like a bandit, and I asked him what's up. He said the touts won't give him a break and hopefully they won't recognize him. I started laughing because he was making himself more noticeable.
Another time I'm sitting on Boca Chica beach drinking with these two brothers from ATL. I got tired of the touts fucking with them (not me) while we were drinking so I gave them the scoop. Don't even look at them and what they are selling, ignore them and act like they are invisible. If you do want to buy anything ask for the price up front and then negotiate. They didn't listen so I let the hyenas eat. First the manicure Haitian girl came up and they asked how much and she said 600 pesos (I pay 300-400 for both a mani and pedi). The guys all got manicures and upper body massages for another 500 pesos each. Then they ordered food without a menu, drinking Remy shots, then two fat girls sat down and got them to pay for their manicures and beers. When their bill came and they saw the 5 k bill they looked at me, but I can't help them now. They both had wives in the States so I understand their weekend getaway and splurging somewhat. The kicker came when the two fat girls said they need 1 k each for the motochoncho home and to get their hair done to meet them later.

In regards to half of us going home alone its all about standards. Even during our past trips to Thailand and Philippines we have gone without ladies on certain nights. I don't want to sound like ass but the quality of the women just wasn't up to our standards. Yes there are a few 10's in classico but with 9 of us I doubt there were enough 10's.
Also not to sound like a bigger jack ass but we are not desperate for a lay. When I introduced myself to the board I said I was a 34 years old and started mongering in 2014. I usually use dating apps like tinder to bang chicks and sometimes go for freelancers when its tough to make the connection with the locals.
So in the end its all about the quality and our personal tastes. Even at at 1000 pesos, if I don't want the chica I'm not going to pay.

Morning of day 4 and we are all juiced. A recap of what's supposed to go down. We got the green light from your villa host that it was OK to bring what possibly could be 30 chicas to the Villa. He stated that this happens all the time. No issues at all. We weren't worried about anything before and we sure ain't worried now.
After breakfast it's off to playero to stock up on what should be an awesome day. 3 cases of beer, snacks and dinner groceries enough for 18. We're thinking optimistically that we'll be going for all night with the chicas and I'm sure they'll need more than beers and chips haha.
Before 2:00 pm rolls around we decided to have a blind draft to see how the order to pick goes. I end up with number 4 out of the 9 of us. Right in the middle.
2:30 a single van a chicas roll up. Turns out its just the first wave. They wait out front in our outside "reception area" within the walls of the property til the whole line up arrives. We couldn't see much from inside without being obvious about it by peering through the window like a little kid at a toy store. I guess we wanted to keep a little mystery til they all showed up so we just hung back and let them arrive.
Before long 24 chicas are gathered and we greet them as they walked through the villa to the backyard. Now picture this. The ocean in the background, our amazing backyard with green grass, tall trees, blue pool and now a line of 24 chicas.

Worked out a deal and back to room.

Maybe this created friction in the group because half were making do with what was available and the ones who went home alone resented this. First timers alone on a Friday night (In Sosua) speaks volumes about certain group members arrogance. Even if you can't find something at the clubs, the walk home would present other opportunities. His lack of a follow up report leaves us to speculate. Maybe these trusted touts pulled a closing power move and they are reluctant to tell us about it.
Remember this a supposedly well traveled coordinated group but half seemed to have a ball without the other half. I would rather have a trip report from the ones who broke the group code and freelanced.

You may pay X for a street walker but the service is going to be weak. And you pay x 2 at the casa and still have bad service. Its all hit and miss and I truly feel that the monger has 90 percent to do with it. Even though I had a great time with one of my chicas and she's worth the price in my book she may not be the same with you and then you'll feel its a bad deal.
If you have a budget just stick to it and hope for the best.
But the short answer to your question I enjoyed both in Sosua. Since the quality of the street walkers wast to my liking I had to pay up at the casa when the street was slim. In Asia on the other hand I mostly go for street walkers and never barfine gogo chicks.

In my posts. I have said that the quality wasn't to our liking, hopefully some of you caught that it was Easter Holiday weekend and I'm sure this affect the number of chicas there.
I didn't want to talk about numbers but I guess I should touch on it a bit. I'd like to say that some of us barely have 500 bucks in our bank accounts and others could have millions. So here it goes.

In many of my visits there this is the route I choose to go. It has always provided the best overall experience IMHO.
Some of us enjoy to have the experience and memories of sport fucking 9's and 10's for days on end and not caring about the cost while others like to go to the bar order a beer for 100 pesos, demand change, and then haggle over another couple hundred pesos with a 5 or 6. To each their own.
If you decide to go back let me know. I can put you in touch with some people on the ground there that I use to facilitate my trips.

Likewise I have a number of choices to get downtown for an appointment. I can drive, take a taxi, take the subway, take a bus. Depending on the time of dayand how important the meeting is I make a different choice.
It's good that we all share our favorite way to roll, but this is not a "How to survive on $10 a day" manual, so share, listen, learn, answer the questions asked, or just ignore.

You can make your own lunch and you can make your own orgasm, but if you go out to buy one, you are faced with multiple choices which may not be desirable, or even available to others. Appetites vary, food intolerances are common and for some the price may be prohibitive. Sending a newbie to a steakhouse is not going to work if he is a vegetarian, on a MacDonalds budget!

Although they do set maximum prices, as far as I know the female companions are all independent contractors who negotiate with clients and collect the fees themselves and are not required to turn over a percentage to the management.
It is disingenuous to pretend that there is no difference between dealing at first hand with providers and using intermediaries or pimps. One of the reasons that people travel to the DR is to arbitrage the difference between laws in the US and other countries and to do legally what would be illegal at home, so it makes sense to avoid getting on the wrong side of the law in the DR. I agree that it is unlikely that customers of illegal businesses would become primary targets of law enforcement in the DR, but then again they say that if you lie down with dogs, you may get up with fleas.

For my next getaway I have elected to go and sport fuck in Sosua. I have been to the DR (Cabarete, Santo Domingo, Boca Chica) but never actually in the town of Sosua other than to drive through. I looked at a couple different options but for this trip I need the thrill of the hunt so I'm taking to the streets, bars, and beach.
Having not actually been in Sosua before I have decided to go back 200 pages ITT and read up to get a feel for the layout. I'm through about 30 pages and feel like I have a pretty good idea of the lay of the land and what to expect. Even have two places narrowed down to where I think I want to stay. Going to keep going and get to more current stuff over the next week or so and then lock in specific dates and hotel.
One thing I noticed as I begin to plan is airfare has increased quite a bit from south Florida to SDQ and STI but has actually dipped slightly for POP. I was toying with the idea of going to Santiago for a night or two before moving on to Sosua but it just makes more sense to go into POP based off current prices and flight times.

BTW, The slowest days at BB, tend to be Sun and the early part of the week, for the simple reason that there are usually few customers there. In that case, if you see a photo of a girl you like, ask to have her called in. The weekends tend to be more filled with customers, and more lively, with events on Friday and Saturday nights, Just FYI.

You might get a lower hotel rate in hurricane season, than the rate on Superbowl weekend. Whether they are full or empty, whether they include breakfast or not, whether they include dinner or not, whether you are in the newest renovated room or not, king bed or not, air conditioning or not, double occupancy or not, or whether you stay for one night, one week, or one month. As a peaceful regular, you might get a better price, the best room, or a free upgrade.
Most travelers know and expect this sort of thing and don't usually make a big deal about it! :)

For a newbie, you get a degree of quality control in a controlled environment that you will not get on the streets. No druggies, no scam artists, no drama queens. You have somewhere to take your complaints. The girls get monthly medical checkups for STDs. There are local restaurants within walking distance, and a good one at the hotel. If you need a wild night life every night, than Sosua is it. If you want a more laid-back, quiet environment, try Costambar. On a good day, you can have the local beach all to yourself. You can rent a COT, and get a beer right on the beach.
As I said earlier, other people can tell you what THEY like, but try a little of both, and see for yourself what YOU like.
Sunrise is excellent and the food is very good. I also like Sosua Suites the apartment across the street from Rockies. The price is about 65 but it is very close to the action. My personal favorite is Europa. The rooms wifi are very good. $40 is excellent price.

In my humble opinion this is the nicest place for the dollar you can stay in Sosua. I paid 72 cash a night. It is located in the same complex as Bailey and also owned by them.

For a newbie, you get a degree of quality control in a controlled environment that you will not get on the streets. No druggies, no scam artists, no drama queens. You have somewhere to take your complaints. The girls get monthly medical checkups for STDs. There are local restaurants within walking distance, and a good one at the hotel. If you need a wild night life every night, than Sosua is it. If you want a more laid-back, quiet environment, try Costambar. On a good day, you can have the local beach all to yourself. You can rent a COT, and get a beer right on the beach.
As I said earlier, other people can tell you what THEY like, but try a little of both, and see for yourself what YOU like.A lot of folks agree with you, because they do good business.

Sosua Sunrise rates are inclusive of breakfast and Dinner. Rooms are decent. I usually stay there. But if you take the girl for breakfast or dinner there is a charge. It is better to eat dinner there before hunting. Choices of Dinner is good.
Europa is ok with basic amenities. Never stayed at Rocky, s.

BTW, The slowest days at BB, tend to be Sun and the early part of the week, for the simple reason that there are usually few customers there. In that case, if you see a photo of a girl you like, ask to have her called in. BB's was my first official introduction to the DR. Had I not hooked up with two other guys staying there and also ventured into Sosua on the same trip, I would have likely been going back there repeatedly.
It's actually not a bad strategy to stay there for a day or two given you are guaranteed a certain level of quality and pricing, then move on to Sosua for the remainder of your trip.

However, your opinion does not account for the possibility and factual evidence posted here, that there are many men whose positive mileage with many women in Sosua may differ and has differed for a variety of reasons. And therefore, as evidenced by the numbers of guys still going to Sosua, apparently they still consider it a great mongering destination, FOR THEM.

Just tried to reserve a room Sosua Sunrise. Seems like they are going to renovate June 16th and will be closed for the time I will be there. What would be a good second choice to sunrise in terms of price and location? Casa Valeria? This would be my third time in Sosua within the past year and a half but have not been there in a year. Had a blast when I was there last May but all these reports are getting me nervous, but I will def not cancel. I feel like it depends on the person's attitude what kind of time they have in Sosua. I knew the language so when I was there it was a bit easier for me. Any help will be appreciated.

I will be in the DR next week. I always have a very good time. I have non pros semi pros and sport fucking lined up for my trip. If all you know or want to do is point and click go to a brothel or BB If you want to interact with the females learn the language and go for it. A guy who goes 10 years ago and spends 2 days in Sosua is not an expert. Sosua is an awesome place for mongering. You have a couple 100 girls of all flavors willing to service you. Since I have been going to the DR for a while I have more options with females. I have a small harem of females who know me and are willing to give me excellent sexual experiences. To begin with, its not like its any more expensive to go to Colombia. Airfare and travel time is in the same range from where I live. Different people have different preferences, and I've heard comments from both sides of the Colombia / DR debate claim that one gives better service than the other. And while it may be that the girls may be prettier in other places, but there is some special appeal about those Dominicanas that I can't explain.
I agree with Old Kool. The DR is a fun place and its easy to see why some guys prefer it, and get hooked on it. I've run the girls in Eastern Europe, Germany, Colombia and Thailand, but none had that odd appeal that the Dominicanas had.
I was in Thailand last fall, and while it was a blast, it is not where you will find an easy GFE, either. It was not really any cheaper or more expensive than the DR, as long as you didn't go to the GoGos and throw money at the girls. Though I will say if you go for a massage, traditional or carnal in nature, Latin America seems pretty shabby compared to what you get in a Thai massage parlor. I definitely want to go back, but the big factor for me is time, not money.
I visited Berlin year before last, and while its the bargain basement for mongering in Western Europe, the service is exceptional. Discounted first-world pricing for first-world quality with no haggling. But, when I was in Boca Chica last February, at times it seemed most of the guys on the streets were Germans. Funny how they seem to seek out only happy folks to complain to, and then you have to explain to them in detail why you are tipping the bartender, and don't necessarily share their miserable outlook on life.

When I talk to German guys here in Spain, they are always asking where the black women are. So I think that might have something to do with the appeal of the DR to the German guys. There are enough black women in the brothels in Spain, but not so many in the clubs. Always one or two, but not in quantity. German women are quite fond of black guys as well, and so can be found vacationing in places like Jamaica even though places with equally good weather are much closer in Europe.

I'm planning my first trip to the DR and from the amount of activity in the Sosua thread, I'm guessing that's the are to be. Any objections to that assessment?
On to the main question: do any of you know of a contact in the DR that can set my friend and I up with a nice house and girls? I've had this done for me at other places I've traveled, but don't have any contacts over there. Essentially someone arranges a nice house and gets a few girls that stay with you for the extent of your trip.
Any recommendations? Good idea or bad?

I'm planning my first trip to the DR and from the amount of activity in the Sosua thread, I'm guessing that's the are to be. Any objections to that assessment?
On to the main question: do any of you know of a contact in the DR that can set my friend and I up with a nice house and girls? I've had this done for me at other places I've traveled, but don't have any contacts over there. Essentially someone arranges a nice house and gets a few girls that stay with you for the extent of your trip.
Any recommendations? Good idea or bad?

Sosua is a big mongering center, with girls on the streets, in the bars, everywhere, but most of that involves trolling those areas to find your own. The Sosua fans enjoy the "hunt. " Its possible to rent a villa locally (check Casa Linda online) but you need a little local savvy to line up girls. Same with dealing with a "provider. " If you have no DR experience, limited Spanish, etc, it might well be a time consuming process.
If you want to have everything "set up" for you, you might be better off using one of the other venues. In Puerto Plata, a short distance from the airport, there are a couple of alternatives. Across from a large resort complex, Playa Dorada, is 'Field of Dreams. ' You could rent a few rooms and likely have the walled complex to yourself. There is a bar and place to eat on site, and girls on site as well. That said, the quality has slipped considerably for all of the above.
The other alternative is Black Beard's, often referred to on the forum as BB. It is in an inconspicuous location, not the bars and nightlife of Sosua. It is a hotel in a walled complex, with bar and good quality restaurant on site. There are about 30 or so girls that are permitted to ply their trade there if they adhere to certain rules of behavior (no drugs, thieves, scams, etc). They also get checked monthly for STDs. Prices for girls are fixed. I believe the current fee for one time with a girl is about 1800 DR pesos. (Current exchange is about 47 pesos to the dollar). They work in two shifts, day and evening. If you find one you particularly like, you can make your own arrangement with her, using the "mama-san" as translator and intermediary, if needed.
Some criticize it for being "too easy" or "spoon-feeding" but if you want everything "set up" for you, that might be what you are looking for.

But then, although I was pushing 70, on a minimal budget, and with only a few phrases in Spanish, it would never have occurred to me to ask anyone else to "set me up" with accommodation or girls. I never saw the necessity for that.

I, like you, discovered DR rather late in life. Our experiences were very similar except the BB part. I went into Sosua total immersion completely alone from day one. It was a wonderful experience that actually changed my life.
But when I looked at his post again, I could see the real questions.
I maybe wrong, but there is two parts to the post.
One is about general travel, the other is about putas.
I don't know about you, but I had a reasonable level of world travel experience, so how to get around without speaking the local language to any real extent was not a problem, neither was where to stay, where to eat, and I had a built in radar for the tourist hustle, and the taxi business.
As far as banking, exchange, that was all available on my laptop. I just needed to know where was the best place most of the putas hung out. I and I found that here on the forum.
Mongering for a well traveled person is much easier. For the Non traveled newbie I would imagine it is twice as hard and fraught with more learning problems.
As you say, he got good advice already, so I just wait for more info, before adding any comments.

I made my decision and elected to reserve my entire stay at Blackbeards. Even though I am booked for the entire time at BB I fully intend to travel to Sosua for a day or two and get a place there for some fun.
The reasons I selected BB as my primary location is that there is at least some customer service that I think I can count on. I desire to engage in 3 somes and BB seems like it would better allow this. I also know what to expect and close trusted voices of reason who are familiar with the place and what I like have strongly suggested it. The concerns I have going into this are based on the recent reviews the girls clear out of BB by 11 and that is when the place shuts down. It will be good to have Sosua as a backup option on some nights since I like to go well into the night of the mood strikes.
I leave in 66 days. Can't wait.

If BB has an 11 pm "closing time" that must be a new development. It used to stay open later, particularly on the weekends, with the scheduled events, etc. Unless your goal is drinking all night, by 11 pm, most guys have already made their choice and are back in their rooms with them. The girls certainly will not leave if they have an interested client. Client or not, they are required to stay until the evening "shift" time is over. The girls typically leave only if they have no prospects for hooking up with a client that evening. No clients at the bar = no girls sticking around after their required shift time.
I did a quick check online, and the weekend events don't start til 9 pm, so unlikely its over at 11. I also noted that the restaurant stops serving at 11, not sure about the bar, but seems unlikely if the restaurant is open till 11, the bar would close so soon.
Like anywhere else, each girl is different, and chemistry may be good or bad. You can only find out. Consider using the jacuzzi for your "auditions. " You may find the occasional "clinker" but most will be fine. Note, the hotel will offer cards for you to "rate" each girl on her performance. This helps reward the "jewels" and identify the "clinkers".

Since you have done this before at other places you have traveled to, you probably have a better idea of how to go about this than anyone posting here. Personally I would think you would be setting yourself up for a logistical nightmare dealing with the personalities of "a a few girls that stay with you for the extent of your trip" that would be exacerbated if you are not fluent in Spanish, but since you have done all this before in other countries, then really you are the expert. This past March / April I was in PP for a week. I stopped at a bar that had karaoke on Saturday nights. During my drive from Lifestyles in PP to sosua, this bar was on the right side of the road closer to Sosua or maybe it was in Sosua. The bar is simple and open and was almost on the road. The building was set right on the side of the road. Can anyone give me info about this place? Anyone know the girls there? And is it avail to take out?

It will be my first trip to the Sosua area but not my first to the DR.
Good to know about the hours. One of the more recent reports (I'll go back and look) gave me the impression that by 11 pm the ladies left and that was it even if they were with someone. I assumed TLN could be arranged but the reviewer did not appear to mention it in his report as far as I remember.
About the cabs "pricey" is a relative term. What am I looking at cost wise?

I made a recent trip to Sosua, after a couple of days at Blackbeard's. I will post about that in their forum. This was the first trip in about 2 years. Aside from the mongering, I like to hang in Sosua. It has good restaurants, a good beach with good food, and the bars are fun to hang in. Several cheap massage places in town, less then $20. Mostly no extras.
I had 3 days here after Blackbeard's. My first trip was about 3 years ago, Sosua was supposedly on the decline according to the forum. But on my first trip, there were plenty of women in all shapes and sizes, enough stunners to go around. This was about the same on the second trip. It is harder to find companions during the day. I wasn't in the mood to hang at the clubs until late in the evening, so my selection was made around 7 pm I saw a couple of cuties at the Son the Bar, couldn't tell if one was available or not. Another girl named Angelica, I think, came up and seemed nice, so I took her back to the casa. I rented a condo on this trip from Airnb, about a 2 block walk from the strip. Much quieter here, and the security checks the girls in at night.
Angelica had a good personality, tall, caramel complexion, long curly hair. Some baby tummy, not too much, somewhat slim. We did several positions, she was very accommodating and into the sex. Probably close to 25. After changing positions several times, I lost feel with the condom, then she gave BBBJ and I finished this way. She held it for a while, then went to spit out in the sink. I gave her $2000 for her efforts.

I loathe nearly all taxis and have tried to avoid them. The only exceptions are the town taxis within Puerto Plata which will take up to 5 passengers anywhere within the city for 150 pesos (about US $3. 20) which I consider a good deal. I always give them an extra 50 pesos for a second passenger or for a longer trip across town but this is not obligatory.
Having said that, if you are at Blackbeards with a group, sharing a taxi to Sosua is not unreasonable. Say 1800 pesos split between three or four. Coming back at night you could hire a dedicated publico for (say) 1200 pesos split between your group.
If there are only one or two of you going it gets more expensive per person. In which case you might want to consider a moto each to the Parada de Sosua in Puerto Plata and a publico from there to Sosua. Cost each under 200 pesos. Coming back I would still recommend the dedicated publico all the way to Blackbeards despite the expense. You do not want to be standing around on deserted streets waiting for transport in the small hours.
Remember your mongering this trip is within Blackbeards, and any visits to Sosua are only recon for possible future trips. Staying in Blackbeards and mongering in Sosua is economically bonkers.
Do not sleep on Puerto Plata City. Worth at least one night out. Many experienced mongers and ex-pats come to prefer Puerto Plata to Sosua for the quality of chicas (not so hardcore and cheaper) but you will need some Spanish and to know your way around, so something for the future. It is just a smaller version of Black Beard's.

Just to be clear. Although I love to incorporate a little mongering into my travels, my mongering days are mostly behind me, so my "expertise" is very limited. Traveled with a buddy to Sosua for 3 days, followed by a 1-week stay in Lifestyle Tropical in Puerto Plata, purely for R & R.
I'm not a fancy-pants, but I love to enjoy the place where I stay. We booked a 2-bdrm ocean-front penthouse in Charamicos, which was fantastic. This was not my first time in Sosua, and I like the beaches there, both the main one and Alicia. As opposed to the beach at the Lifestyle (Cofresi), which is shit.
The streets were filled with walking girls, but cops were everywhere, too. Saw one girl taken away, but she didn't seem too upset. I don't know how they decide which girl to pick, because there are hundreds of them walking the streets undeterred.
Contrary to some previous reports I read, I noticed that the girls weren't overly aggressive, and they wouldn't approach me unless I look at them directly and smiled. Maybe it was the fat, ugly me or maybe the abundance of cops. Or maybe slow weekdays, I don't know, but it's hard to imagine not being able to find someone to your liking. It's a fun town. Not too much to do, but a nice beach, cheap prices, and hordes of chicas (even if many are undoable) must count for something.
That concludes my Sosua trip report. Next time will go alone, I think, since my buddy is even a lesser monger than I am. Maybe I'll get bored enough and get more action next time.

As far as the clubs and restaurants, well Sosua is a small place and you can discover everything just by walking around on foot and looking. The Scandinavian restaurant is at the beach. There is a new disco (High Caribbean) that has just reopened after being closed for years, which is about 3/4 mile from the center, that might come into play, but most everything else is close together. You could get a taxi driver to give you are tour of Sosua, Charamicos, and Cabarete if you want. There is not much to it.

Sosua is nothing like AC. But if you know AC, pretend you are sitting outside at Kokomos and the beggars or viagra salesmen (but in this case it would be hookers) are parading back and forth down Fields and some are coming up to you from streetside asking if you want to go to the room (instead of buy viagra). There are also a couple of places like High Society albeit 1/8 of the size.
All the girls in Sosua are freelancers, so they are not working in any bars with bikinis on dancing on a stage waiting for you to buy them lady drinks and barfine them. The various bars that you will go to in Sosua are small and only have a few barstools. The Sosua mongering area as far as the bar scene is concerned might be half of the street (Vian St) behind Fields where Wild Orchid Hotel and Tequila Reef are if that.
Spent 5 days in the DR. 1 in SD and the rest in Sosua. On my 1st full day in Sosua I met cute chica who made me want to wife up. She was far from the sexiest or most beautiful girl in Sosua but my chemistry with her was great. I spent 2 full days with her and paid her little over 200 dollars and a few meals. I have to admit it was like going to a buffet and eating the chicken. Some times chicken is all you want.

I've stayed at the Playa Dorada complex several timeS, and the beaches adjacent to the complex were fine. I stayed at the Hotel Barcelo several times with a novia. The room prices quoted on Hotelsdotcom were for double occupancy, and were often very reasonable, considering its AI for meals, drinks, etc. The notion of charging people to use the beach with crazy prices sounds like standard business procedure in the DR.

As you know the building was constructed over 30 years ago, and many of the furnishings are from the time of the original construction. This past year, we have received many comments and suggestions related to renovating the rooms and facilities. This past spring, we sent out a survey to over 2400 clients collecting your views on your priorities in any renewal plan.
The rooms, bathrooms and common areas are what you said were most important to you.
I own the hotel business; the building owner is our collaborator and I need him to be committed and to contribute to the renewal plan.
During this spring, he reviewed the possibilities and the significant investment that would be necessary to accomplish the scope of renewal we felt was needed. Unfortunately, due to several factors he is unable to conclude the financing to launch the renewal project.
Rather then continuing to operate in an infrastructure that no longer meets your needs, I decided that it is best to cease operations. This decision was not easy, but considering my continued commitment to you, my clients, and being in a situation where I believe it would be impossible to deliver the quality you expect, brought me to the conclusion that it is the only option.
I will be closing June 15th meaning the last night of operation is June 14th.
Moving forward, the building owner is hoping to have a new operator in place sometime soon.
My plans are to take some vacation (my first in the last 4 years) and enjoy the warm weather, the beach and time with friends. You will most likely see me around if you are here in the coming months and please do not hesitate to stop and say Hello,. Gentlemen I had an excellent time, 2 ladies were all day dates one being 2 complete days. I ate at my favorite eating places. Not low rent places. Baileys twice, Bourbon Street and for the first time German Grill for dinners. $1200 pesos a day for food. Average dinner was 600 pesos. I picked up 2 dinners and a breakfast with my sweetie chica that was covered by my food budget. Water and snacks were also covered in the budget.
I went to Caberreti, Caribean Jeffs and the Casino near Dulce Secreto where I won 3 k pesos playing black jack. I was accompanied with my chica which made these activities more enjoyable.

Those figures sound very realistic for someone who is careful, has common sense and knows a little Spanish (not much, but familiarity with numerals is vital). It also helps to be able to think in pesos rather than dollars or euros and this is something newbies can practice at home before travelling.

The absentee owner is interested in maxing out the bottom line, while the operator needs to personally keep the customers happy and coming back.
You get to to point where operating becomes very frustrating if the owner won't spend any money, while you are trying to grow the business.
But, I can easily see why the owner is not impressed by some 2400 mongers telling him what they would like him to do with his money. After all, it is still one of the highest rated monger hotels in Sosua.

But Willie is to be commended for doing a great job, apparently under difficult circumstances, and handling his closure in a professional way, so far.
He will carry the good will of his customers to any new venture, me included, so he'll be OK!
It's just another example of the musical chairs that locals take for granted. Over the years they closed my 3 favorite bars, but I still have no problem finding an ice cold Presidente Lite, a little music, and lots of smiling chicas to drink it with. Salud!

On my last trip there were more chicas walking the streets during the day light hours then in the past. Colombian chicas are gorgeous without a doubt. However the effort getting to them can be challenging form what I have gleaned. May be I am a bit lazy but the idea of vacation is to not work. nails that aspect of vacationing to the wall. The whole town is dedicated to making us happy. I am willing to let them.

Gentlemen I had an excellent time, 2 ladies were all day dates one being 2 complete days. I ate at my favorite eating places. Not low rent places. Baileys twice, Bourbon Street and for the first time German Grill for dinners. $1200 pesos a day for food. Average dinner was 600 pesos. I picked up 2 dinners and a breakfast with my sweetie chica that was covered by my food budget. Water and snacks were also covered in the budget.
I went to Caberreti, Caribean Jeffs and the Casino near Dulce Secreto where I won 3 k pesos playing black jack. I was accompanied with my chica which made these activities more enjoyable.
Lastly, My nuts were totally drained, the chicas I wifed up with gave me very strong GFE. Whenever I was ready they satisfied me.Thank you for the breakdown. I stay for at least 10 days to make the most of the cost of the flight. If I stayed on 5 days I might spend a little more. $700 round trip flight. $60 a day at New Garden, transport from and to the airport $70. I walk only in Sosua, no motor-coach. $15 a day on food. $30 a day for drinks in clubs an beach. $70 a day for two nuts. Around $10 in tips a various places. Mine is not to far out from Oldkool budget. You only live once!

transport from and to the airport $70.Either this is typo or you are not talking about Puerto Plata airport. Last time I rented a car for 5 days for $54. You would come out better doing that and driving yourself to New Garden even if you didn't use the car the rest of the time.

I paid $30 each way to the airport. New Garden had some pick me up and drop me off. I know I paid a little more than I should. But I made it up the difference draining my nuts for 1000 pesos on the girls hanging out at the bar inside the Hotel. LOL. I did not rent a car because I did not leave Sosua except when I took a girl on a shity tour package to Puerto Plata, the driver was included in the deal which was around $80.

I'm starting the Free Sosua party. I'll go down there and break the union. Membership of my party will be relatively cheap. My first cabinet appointment is Mr Charles Pooter.
Its a common situation in the tourist business.
The absentee owner is interested in maxing out the bottom line, while the operator needs to personally keep the customers happy and coming back.
You get to to point where operating becomes very frustrating if the owner won't spend any money, while you are trying to grow the business.
But, I can easily see why the owner is not impressed by some 2400 mongers telling him what they would like him to do with his money. After all, it is still one of the highest rated monger hotels in Sosua.

Next!I predict any new owner will fail. Plumbing and electrical aging and jerry-rigged.
Casa Valeria remodeled. Baileys opened their own place (but is doing poorly). Wilfried not getting younger. Mayor is changing things radically. Signing any new 5 year extension at higher prices would present many risks. Too bad. I liked the place only because of Wilfried and his management.
Glad I found some new options in Cabarete. Will back off Sosua, except for maybe 20 pc of my days, and have my chicas come to upscale digs in Cabarete. Like Wilfried, I'm not getting younger either! LOL.

In Sosua, the sex it is so easy and available that you don't need to spend a lot of time chasing it, so the other amenities, good restaurants, beaches, fresh seafood, hotel room on the beach, instead of a mile away with good A/C and WiFii, and good morning coffee and breakfast close by, play a big part in your overall enjoyment. Nothing is more than a 5 minute walk away, so no need for car rental, parking, damages etc.
Your fellow monger friends, or in my case local friends, and acquaintances always happy to see you, are a big part of the fun!

THEY themselves would never fall for any "shyt" like that. They always seem to get the sex some other poor sucker is paying for for free, or at cut rate prices, because they are operating at the "next level", from the other poor mongers.
You don't need to be a qualified psychiatrist, like our Wrxxy, to figure out they have certain "issues" :)
Sosua has it's warts, who doesn't? It's a third world poverty stricken place. We all know that and you must exercise a little common sense and caution, like you would anywhere else. Everybody makes the odd mistake and bad judgement, but we have guys here that research every old post to remind you of any mistake you freely shared with the group. That, and the "abused wife" insults, has a chilling effect on honesty here, and also the fact that a lot of these posters know and hang with each other personally, adds another dimension to the mix, that you don't find on a lot of other anonymous boards.
But Sosua offers an awful lot to the average monger, and even to affluent businessmen from all over the world, who do actually do "know better", I travel with one, these days.
I'm here for a little balance, so they don't chase away all the fans, and especially newbies!
My message to them is, "C'mon down to Sosua, the water's fine!". Just remember business is slow in summer and hurricane season, like now!
