Who remembers Rumba Bar when it was crackin during the day and everything was open air? That Rumba/D'Latin era was epic. I got crazy memories of those spots.

You could pull some winners and often at a bargain price. In those days Classicos was the zenith of the nights. You would see more 10 s then you could count. My first visit to Classicos blew my mind. These days I prefer to score early and don't frequent the late night spots as much. Even though Rumbas is not what it was girls still hit the stroll around 3 pm everyday and the numbers on the weekend is still impressive.

DLatin was free, open air and bigger so NOBODY went to Clasicos.

Merengue Bar was open and the crowd wasn't in there either. I was able to get good talent for $1000 pesos out of Rumbar Bar during the day.

The last died out as other places opened and then the space was closed and boarded up until the Bourbon Street folks moved it. I was glad to see someone move in but I wish it would have been something other than a restaurant.
Yeah, back then there were a lot of bars and little hidden jewels on the strip as well as off the beaten path, in additional to the buildings that were dedicated to housing the chicas that came in from out of town.

My whatapp list are girls I have been with who performed very well. I like to take my time with these girls beach, dancing, movie and casino time. They stay with me all day and screw whenever I want. It's been a month and some change since I last saw her. I've been yearning for her touch. She's about 59 years old. 5'4" and in 175 pounds. My friend turned me on to her the last time I was there. I just got back from a last-minute trip to Sosua. I was lucky enough to have enough frequent flyer miles to fly into Puerto Plata. I tried to avoid the $25 taxi ride but could not find a way around it. Hahahaha. I stayed at the Anton hotel and they gave me a free ride back so it equals out OK. I had no idea it was Dominican Independence Day during my stay but that really did not affect much other than a bigger crowd at Alicia beach. As usual I met some interesting guys and their various viewpoints on what they look for in Sousa. I was there 4 nights and went through 9 condoms. I had a GREAT time! Google translate is a must if your Spanish game is weak. I did my five minutes of chitchat and then got down to what I wanted. I am kind a like Charlie Sheen I pay them to leave. So all my encounters were short time and I never paid more than 2000 pesos. I only found 2 ladies that said no to those terms. One of them claim to be from Venezuela and promised me the extra 1000 pesos would be worth it, as she was right.
I also found a pretty good massage place right across the street from my hotel where I paid 1000 pesos including the tip for a one hour massage (no extras). I also visited the massage place across from Terra Linda resort and paid 1200 pesos tip included for average massage and amazing BJ. Second way. Main road take a taxi. It will be 6-8 US dollar.
Or sometime a taxi is dropping off people at the airport and heading back to the main road. Same prices 6 to 8 dollars. Or 300 to 400 p.
Ten minute walk. Of course if you are in a hurry. Pay the $25.
Also the moto bike will offer as you are walking thru the airport parking. A little bit too far for me on the back of a moto bike carrying a suitcase.

I might add, for those who have pre-arranged a hook up with a chica, get her to pick you up. You won't be paying more than 10 bucks for the ride! Maybe even a cold Presidente too.
But for the regular fare of 25 you'll get an immediate, clean, air conditioned van, with music, your bags taken, which can be a stress free way to start your vacation in Sosua, especially after a long trip! I truly enjoyed myself. For those on this site giving me good advice, I appreciate it. Your advice was valuable. It was a very laid back, fun, and worthwhile experience. I only stayed (3) nights and (4) days at the Victorian House. Though this is a forum where we can post our experiences, there's no way I'm going to be able to post everything that went down. It was that much fun.
Now, for the others that didn't quite understand the logic of using Tinder, Bumble, and POF to contact these females ahead of time: it was done for purely "feeling" purposes. If you've never been to a country before, you will want to exhaust all of your resources to find out what's happening so that you do as little work as possible in the physical form. I don't owe any of these females a red penny. They can quote as much as they want, but I don't come out of my pockets unless I'm truly feeling the vibe. In fact, I come out of my mouth first. Pockets last. With that said, it was overwhelming. Truly. I regularly speak to women in my gym, on the streets, in the grocery stores. You name it. For those of you that don't allow rejection to stop you then you know what I'm talking about. With that same mindset, I ended up speaking to females working at the money exchange in the POP airport, the restaurants at the POP, and anywhere in between. I just wrapped up 7 days in Sosua. There is definitely a lot of action there. The streets are pretty busy at night. The police had a pretty strong presence all over the strip but didn't really seem to be bothering anyone. The street girls are not really my thing. I love to watch them but in this trip and also my last I had very good luck with girls I found on social media, mostly badoo. For short term it seems like the girls ask for 3000 but will come for 2000. I did have a fantastic toda la noche for 3000. One thing to note, I flew in to STI and my plan was to take an uber to Sosua. Uber was around 2000 pesos but when the driver showed up he wanted more money, he said 75 dollars total for that trip so I got upset and said forget it. He would not cancel so I couldn't get another uber. I ended up taking a taxi which was 85 dollars I think. After doing the trip I don't think anyone is doing that run for 40 dollars. Anyway just be mindful that uber doesn't always work flawlessly there. All in all it was fantastic trip. 4 girls over 7 days, some of them multiple times. Great food, great fun, and as always a great value. The Europa front desk was giving 50 pesos to 1 USA Dollar. I plan to return soon!

Now, DO NOT CONFUSE this parlour with a nearby parlour on Dr. Alejo Martinez (on the east side of the road, just north of the Dr Rosen-intersection), who later gave me a great massage for only 600 pesos, which was the cheapest I could find in town.
After my massage sessions I went to walk around the central areas to try to find a woman for some adult fun, but I didn't find anyone I like so I went back to my room. At around 8 pm I hit the streets again and most girls were quite expensive, they were quoting 2000-3000 for ST with only one shot. Later my host told me that about a month ago another customer had his wallet and phone stolen and the girl disappeared during his nightly 15-seconds toilet visit. So, be extremely careful and always lock in your valuables, these girls ain't no angels.

Uber was around 2000 pesos but when the driver showed up he wanted more money, he said 75 dollars total for that trip so I got upset and said forget it. He would not cancel so I couldn't get another uber. I ended up taking a taxi which was 85 dollars I think. After doing the trip I don't think anyone is doing that run for 40 dollars. One of the owners has been living in Sosua for ten years and is a musician with a huge following and tons of friends, when he plays the local bars in Sosua he packs the places, now he will be playing at his own bar. My point is that both of these guys have already been successful in business on this island, if anyone can make a run at it it's these two guys. Just returned home from 2 weeks holiday trip to Sosua. First time for me to DR. Normally I travel to SEA for sex vacations. Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam. But this time I thought a change in the routine would be welcome and took a trip to Sosua.
Sosua is a really compact place for mongering. It has nice beaches and the weather was perfect. Sunny and not too hot. Food is hit and miss. Some great stuff but also plenty of crap. The quality of hotels (not all inclusive resorts) was poor IMO for the money they charge (100 $/ night) and the atmosphere was kind of quiet and spiritless. I did not like this. When the light begins to change, I sometimes feel a little strange, a little anxious when it's dark.
The chicas were way too black for my taste. I should have known this, done better research beforehand. My bad. I prefer more light skinned babes, Caucasians and Asians. They are more sexy and erotic for me. On the positive side there were plenty of curvy women around and for a connoisseur of big natural breasts like me, Sosua had some large ones to offer. So not a completely futile trip.
Unless you are paying with cash, how does an uber driver up the price? Use a credit card and if all else fails you can dispute the charge with your card company. That won't likely be necessary because uber gives a price quote before the trip and always refunds excessive amounts if drivers take unnecessary detours or try other shenanigans. I agree we should report drivers who try stuff.

Anyway I ordered the uber at the airport they charged my credit card about 40 dollars as the price given was around 2000 pesos. The driver came right away I put my bag in the trunk and jumped in the car. He pulled up about ten feet and over to the curb and put the car in park. I do not speak much Spanish and he spoke no English so the next part was done with shakey Google translations but this is what I understood. He told me he can take me to Sosua but it will be 75 dollars USA he told me to go take the cash from the ATM. At this point I said no and got out of the car and got my bag. At this point he tried to tell me with translator something to the effect of because we are in the the. Are. My USA Payment method would not work. So I'm not sure if he was trying to get the 35 dollar difference out of me or have me pay the full 75 dollars he wanted in cash but at that point I didn't care as I was done with him.
Now my plan was to just order another Uber but on my app the only option I had was to cancel my Uber with the original guy which it said costs 70 dollars to cancel. At this point I was really pissed. I found out a couple days later it was 70 pesos actually. Anyway I disputed the charge with Uber later on. I was pretty worn down at this point so I just paid a taxi 85 dollars to bring me to Sosua.
I believe this is more of an Uber issue than a driver issue because Uber sets the prices. My drivers reviews were actually good and it said he has done 7000 rides. But after doing the trip from STI to Sosua I realized that 2000 pesos is not really feasible as its almost 2 hours each way for the driver. If anyone has had any success getting an Uber from STI to Sosua please chime in but I would advise any travellers not to expect that rate.

You pick the destination and the payment method for your trip. I only use paypal cards when traveling and have had no issue with uber.

Maybe investigate Air Canada to POP via Toronto or Montreal. You will have a stop off in one of those cities but you can travel the entire route with this airline.
You can also travel via Miami with British Airways / American Airlines.
Not sure if the above suggestion is better or worse than traveling from Punta Cana to POP but might give you some further options.

Thanks.Well, if I was traveling from the United Kingdom and spending 8 to 10 hours on an airplane, I would want to land as close to my destination as possible. So that being said, the United Kingdom to New York City to Puerto Plata would be my option. If you travel from the United Kingdom direct to Punta Cana, Google Maps / Directions suggests it's a five and a half hour trip from Punta Cana to Sosua by car (Punta Cana to Santo Domingo to Santiago de LOS Caballeros to Sosua) with tolls along the way. Maybe somebody will chime in and confirm the trip by car from Punta Cana to Sosua is a shorter time span with no / few tolls.
When I traveled to Sosua a few years ago, I landed in Santiago de LOS Caballeros (just known as Santiago by many) and then took a taxi to Sosua. The price of the airline ticket was about $250 cheaper than flying into Puerto Plata, which was a savings even though the taxi from Santiago to Sosua was $90 (I likely overpaid by several dollars). Is flying from the United Kingdom to New York City to Santiago an option?

Travelling from Punta Cana will cost you the best part of a day each way out of your hoiiday. If you are coming for a month, it may be worth it.
There are no flights UK to Santiago.
All my Brit friends here (since the cheap charter flights to POP dried up) fly from the UK via Belgium or Germany. Much cheaper than the US option. But check it out yourself. Things can change before October.
These sorts of questions are much better asked on DR1. Very few posters on this board fly to and from the UK.

A few tolls along the way. I would recommend looking at a map and knowing the route, as the GPS was unreliable for me at times.

Thanks.I do not know what time you plane lands in Punta Cana but do not attempt make this drive at night. I made the trip from Punta cana to Sosua once years ago. If your plane arrives in the afternoon, stay a night in Punta and tackle it the next day. Or travel 2 1/2 hours to Santo Domingo and stay the night. You will at least be half way there. The roads are good but there are many unlit areas, especially that second leg. Many of the cars in DR do not have rear tail lights which is dangerous and I also came closed to hitting a cow at the side of the road for not seeing it until the last second. You also want to be able to see the signs. You can express pass Santiago by bypassing going through town and going around instead.

These are retired Brits on a tight budget but all the time in the world to research flights and prices so I guess they found the cheapest options.
Via Spain is another option. Less of a detour but more expensive than the Belgian / German options.
I am not flying anywhere so I have not done any research. Just saying, worth looking into.

I woke up again with a hangover yesterday morning after a night at the bar with regular and her beautiful GF. They were both in the next bed going at each other! I joined in for a little while, but left them to it.

But some of the women who showed up was looking nice in their outfits. But I could not see paying that price but some people must be paying it if they are asking. 1) Spent a week in Sosua. Flew in to Pto Pta and left via Santiago. The flight prices are ridiculous but as they say, "charge what the traffic can bear. ".
2) The food scenario for me has turned out to be rather shabby. Ever since the Italian chef GianLuca left at New Garden, food is reasonably dismal there. I tried the Austrian place. Once they knew what an Italian expresso was. The new local inductee brought me a cupful of expresso, instead of a spoonful. Yuk, and the tira-me-su was definitely not worth salivating on. The Germany bar and Grill was okay but the Canadian place at the main intersection. Boy I am not going there ever. And I asked for a mere decent hamburger (their big mac)!
3) By the way, I tried that idiotic Jamaican restaurant in front of Casa Valeria for their Curry Goat. They had the gall of charging me a whopping 850 pesos while goat in a typical Dominican place is 350 pesos. Still pricey as goat is considered the priciest compared to pork / chicken / beef. Stupid me, I should have asked for the price before sitting down. I had a place to cook and so in desperation, I bought some goat meat (which too is frozen, unlike the fresh cuts in Santiago) and cooked. Fish too in Sosua is mostly frozen so the only way one could eat it, is as fried. Fried, as we all know, everything is rendered good including shoes. As an Italian saying goes.
4) The good news was the mangoes. There was a large variety and I devoured quite a load. The other good news were the women, even though I had 2 poor experiences with newbies. Generally never paid more than 2000 and on occasions, 1000 but I treat them well. Beer / juice, food where applicable and a small gift. I also must repeat that I never pick women from the streets and hence NEVER negotiate. Most women, came during the day and at night, I slept alone.
5) Noticed quite a few of the young women are smoking including the new fangled vapor gizmo but regular cigarillos as well. It is curious how the US, so quickly engulfs the smaller cultures, things that are "cool" and bad for you quickly became part of another culture. The rise in fat, is another clear indication of that colonialism. Soda is ubiquitous as are all things fried and just like the inner cities in the US, veg and fruits are way too expensive to be affordable. Add the alcohol. No wonder women turn out to be fat within a short space of time. I gave mangoes to a girl who on her next trip back told me that those were nice and sweet. Imagine that, in a place where mangoes are everywhere.
6) Even though, it has been routine by now to hobnob with 20 somethings, I realize that at home, it would be hard to find anything lower than 30 and the mind games, not to speak of my pocket. I guess I will continue to indulge in the pleasure the Good Lord has allowed me to partake in, pure happenstance, until I cannot. Long live La Republica Dominican!

The good news is it keeps the place from being boring as there are always new venues popping up with surprisingly good stuff (for a while anyway).

I just wrapped up 7 days in Sosua. There is definitely a lot of action there. The streets are pretty busy at night. The police had a pretty strong presence all over the strip but didn't really seem to be bothering anyone. The street girls are not really my thing. I love to watch them but in this trip and also my last I had very good luck with girls I found on social media, mostly badoo. For short term it seems like the girls ask for 3000 but will come for 2000. I did have a fantastic toda la noche for 3000. One thing to note, I flew in to STI and my plan was to take an uber to Sosua. Uber was around 2000 pesos but when the driver showed up he wanted more money, he said 75 dollars total for that trip so I got upset and said forget it. He would not cancel so I couldn't get another uber. I ended up taking a taxi which was 85 dollars I think. After doing the trip I don't think anyone is doing that run for 40 dollars. Anyway just be mindful that uber doesn't always work flawlessly there. All in all it was fantastic trip. 4 girls over 7 days, some of them multiple times. Great food, great fun, and as always a great value. The Europa front desk was giving 50 pesos to 1 USA Dollar. I plan to return soon!

I bumped into two black women, rather on the rotund side in terms of size, at Playero at the closing hour one evening. They were dressed scantily drawing attention to themselves, also with their long false eyelashes etc. They had a Haitian looking man with them who spoke some English and had picked a bottle of Hennessy cognac, which I later found to be rather pricey. In any case, these women, and I stood behind them on the check out line, was asking the man, if there was a "food stamp" card that was available in the DR. One of these women then went on to pay and used her card but it would not work. After a lot of attempts, when it still did not go through, I had enough and changed line and told her that her "food stamp" would not work, all the more so, if she was buying alcohol. Anywhere. I wonder if these two were part of that fistful of exotica trying their luck off shore. Certainly not worth worth more than 25 bucks, but if you are in love with an English speaking foreigner in Sosua, that might be your cuppa tea.

Personally, with my regular, I ignore all requests, and set my own limits by giving money, an occasional shopping trip to Playera or La Sirena, based on my own budget and services received, and good behaviour. LOL.
I limit my time with her to two or three days a week (at my age) on a regular basis, so she has to live her own life for most of the time independent from my support.
She, and a couple of her friends have grown comfortable with this arrangement, and I am under no obligation to pony up for rent, hospital costs or other expenses they incur from time to time.
But the little I give her on a regular basis, does make a difference in her life, and is appreciated. Visitors and ex pats in Sosua can take for granted the relative safety of Sosua, with it's endless patrols of Tourist, Federales, Nationales policing. ATM guards with sawed off shotguns.
But they are there for a reason.
It is very important for ex pats, and visitors alike, to keep a low profile and opt for security in their choice of residence. I can reduce my rental considerably by moving a few blocks away from town, but I enjoy a beer and walking home safely at night!
A low profile also prevents you from making local enemies. It's a very small town. You are watched and remembered. Stay away from altercations with, or between locals.

He's a big guy, and can take care of himself, but the culture here is different from back home, and there's no real right and wrong, only survival.

A big disadvantage of meeting chicks online is that you can not fully check them out. Sure you can cam, but that does not tell a full story. I was dating a chick in Colombia whose friend had met an Australian guy online. They dated online for 1 year and even talked about marriage before he finally went to see her. The Tall Man.Having lived in northern british Colombia and alberta towns where you went to the bars for entertainment to watch the Saturday night punchups, I was amazed while living in medellin for best part of 7 years of never seen a punch thrown in a bar, that includes the bars and strip clubs north and west of conejitas opposite plaza botero, accidently bump into a colombian and he says sorry, an albertan liable to punch you out.

Our flight lands in Santo Domingo at night so should I just wait till the morning or is it a safe way to go at night. Also is new gardens still the best spot to stay. I was thinking of a villa but I don't think its necessary. And what else is there to do in Sosua besides the chicas LOL. And lastly I'm bringing about 1500 bucks. Is that enough for a great time for 5 days.

Take the Metro Bus. It cost 9 dollars and it will take you to Sosua from Santo Domingo in appx 4 hours.
The bus is clean, air conditioned and has a bathroom. Its very efficient.
Tell a taxi driver to take you to the Metro Bus Station in Santo Domingo which is about 15 minutes from the Airport -- all the drivers know where Metro Bus station is.

1500 is plenty. When I am there I spend an average of 100 dollars a day for food, fun, and fucking.
The easiest, but also most expensive way to get from sdq to Sosua is a private taxi right from the airport. I would not suggest you try and navigate the whole bus system on your first trip with so few days to enjoy.
I always stay at Europa and have no real complaints about it.

Relax, stay over in Santiago, and maybe even let your adventures begin there!
A viila is ok for a group, but most often requires transportation to and from, which adds complexity.
In Sosua, the most recommended chica friendly hotels are New Garden, Europa, or Alicia. Check out Don Antonio too, all close to the action. Things are slow here now so negotiating is advised, they may thrown in breakfast! You can walk to all 4 in 10 minutes or so and see who's hungry for your business.
As to other activities, besides fucking, there is the usual stuff to do in a small beach town, decent and varied food, and side trips to PP and Cabarete.

Caribe Tours bus line would be a good choice to Sosua, but their last last bus to Sosua leaves at 7 pm. First bus out is at 6 am. (Schedules online).
Not sure how much time you have to kill, whether its worth reserving a room in SD, etc.
$1500 US is plenty for 5 days, but I would not wander at night dragging luggage and a fortune in cash.

The easiest, but also most expensive way to get from sdq to Sosua is a private taxi right from the airport. I would not suggest you try and navigate the whole bus system on your first trip with so few days to enjoy.
I always stay at Europa and have no real complaints about it.

A viila is ok for a group, but most often requires transportation to and from, which adds complexity.
In Sosua, the most recommended chica friendly hotels are New Garden, Europa, or Alicia. Check out Don Antonio too, all close to the action. Things are slow here now so negotiating is advised, they may thrown in breakfast! You can walk to all 4 in 10 minutes or so and see who's hungry for your business.
As to other activities, besides fucking, there is the usual stuff to do in a small beach town, decent and varied food, and side trips to PP and Cabarete.

If you have never been here before, or arriving at night, I would book a room for the first night, get a good night's sleep and take a short walk around town after breakfast to get your bearings, and see where you'd like to be for the rest of your trip.

I live here now but in the three years I was only "tripping" I relied on ATMs. If you do the same I would recommend:
1) Advise your bank well before you leave. First World banks are rightly suspicious of the DR, one of the most corrupt and incompetent nations on earth, and might block your card if they unexpectedly see sizable sums being frequently withdrawn here. You might want to nominate a maximum amount to be withdrawn to protect your account.
2) Bring at least two cards in case one ceases to function for any reason.
3) Draw money during banking hours inside the bank at the teller counter. You will need your passport. This is safer than doing so on the street, you will not be in danger of having your card cloned, and you can ask for a selection of small bills and change (which can be elusive otherwise, leading to over-paying). You might want to write down a "shopping list" to make things clearer to the teller. For example to draw RD $20,000 (about US $400) I ask for:
10 x RD $1000.
10 x RD $500.
10 x RD $200.
10 x RD $100.
20 x RD $50.
RD $1000 en moneda (coins).
4) If you must draw money outside banking hours, use an ATM outside a bank. These will normally have a security man on guard. Also, if the machine eats your card or fails to issue cash, the matter will be more easily resolved if you go straight to the bank when it opens next day. For an ATM in a store or filling station, it could take days to resolve, with all parties passing the buck.
5) When using an ATM draw an "odd" amount, such as RD $4900 (rather than RD $5000). This will give you some smaller bills.
