The video looked to be during the day. Are restaurants open or I have to cook for Myself?If you were a newbie, I would probably suggest that you hold off your visit, given that there are uncertainties with curfew hours and even incoming flights, after 1/10. On the other hand, if you can get over there, I am sure Sosua will cook up all sorts of stuff for you. Restaurants of all kinds, the burger / fried chicken or the local I. E, Dominican as well the fancy Italian / German kind are all working, within the constraint of limited hours.
I came back from there in the new year and I ate plenty in the restaurants.
If you come to Sosua, you can find hotels open and operating normally for guests. Most hotels allow guests, so hooking up is not a problem. Day staff must be home 3 hours after the 5 PM weekday curfew, (12 noon on weekends) Curfews are not enforced within hotel properties, but you cannot be on the street, except for valid emergencies and ticketed travel.
In town and on the beach, colmados, bars and restaurants are now allowed open at 50% seating capacity during non curfew hours, and delivery is available till 11 PM.
Tourists are still arriving at the POP airport.
The major problem for visitors appears to be the testing and quarantine requirements on arrival back in the home country.

But are the chicas out and about before curfew?Obviously not in great numbers. You can still find them strolling the beach, and around the bars, but the organized ones use their smart phones now to stay in touch with their clients.
On another note, all the main spots have wi fi, but after getting frustrated with the spotty signal on my laptop at my apartment, I got my Iphone set up as a "personal hot spot" with Altice for 1000 pesos per month. Works like a charm. Don't know what took me so long.
For me happiness is a fast internet connection in these curfew times.

So, my question, to the Expats on this forum and residing in the vicinity, is: is such a thing even possible, test report within 3 days of departure and if so, where and at what cost? There was a recent order from the CDC (USA) requiring all passengers have a COVID test 3 days prior to departure to USA.
I'm not sure if it applies to US citizens. Also not sure what date this requirement expires.

On the other hand, I discovered that to attract international tourists during this pandemic period, the DR is offering free medical coverage plus charges for any change to return flight dates due to illness, including Covid 19 while in the DR, from now until March 31st. To be a beneficiary, you will have to fly into the DR and check-in a hotel where there is an insurance form to be completed for the coverage. I do not go to AI and am not going to bet on what the DR government is or is not going to do. I have to find out what I can get done locally in the POP area and will decide accordingly if I want to undertake the trip. If it is easy, efficient and does not cost an arm and a leg, I may try for my short week long trip.
Sure, I will post any eventual answers from these two labs. So far this morning nothing. Not too surprising, that!

When I was there for Christmas there was a guy that had just gotten a covid test done. I asked him where he went and he said there is a place close to the superpollo supermarket that he went to. I don't remember all the details but the way he was talking it seemed like a cheap quick easy process.

Flew in from JFK to POP Thursday am, had planned to leave Sunday am.
Decided to leave a day earlier, not bc I had a bad time, but I bore easily.
Stayed at Casa Valeria. Not high end and expensive for what it is but convenient. I will say their food is excellent.
American breakfast, a nice sautéed fish with garlic and the goat dish with rice all top notch. Bar open as late as you want; but average looking girls. I think the girls are ok looking at best in general, but that's just me. After about 22 they start to gain weight and get hardened looking. Tough life; I feel for them. With the exception of a few taller Dominicanas, but they know it and are much less enthusiastic in bed. My Spanish is fairly non-existent, so Google translate works but isn't great for pillow talk. So I stuck with nice bodied Haitianas.
Lots of girls on the street and plenty at the hotel Inez or whatever it's called. Curfew is the real deal with all businesses closed. A few stragglers on the street but I definitely did not feel comfortable walking around a deserted street after curfew hours, not for safety reasons but I don't want trouble with police. But a taxi is fine and you can go wherever in what at pretty much anytime.
I think you will find it a worthwhile trip.

I have been trying now to find out if they do the PCR test which is the nose swab thing and acceptable to the airline / CDC. The whole thing is relatively easy, at least in my home town. I did it two times last year, sitting in my car and the results got sent over by secure web access within 24 hours. I am however curious as to what happens in the DR. In terms of the process.

CDC requires a RT-PCR test and I have a feeling that, it is not so common in the DR, also because the antibody / antigen tests are a lot cheaper, from what I am hearing.

Stay away from there if you can.
I was there for 3 days last year with a severe bladder infection, and they wanted to cut me up. If my regular had not took charge got me out of there, I might still be there, LOL.
There should be other alternatives available for the test.

In terms of the process.I had written to this Hospital / Clinic of Sosua yesterday by email. They confirmed earlier today that they do only Antigen / Antibody tests and not the PCR test. This means I and all others will now will have to figure out where around Sosua the test is available and soon as the CDC directive would be effective 26th onwards. The Canadians are already impacted by such a rule for return.

There should be other alternatives available for the test.The Canadian Consulate sent me this morning a response to my query. I am only including those valid for the North Coast. By the way, CMC in Sosua only does the Antigen test. Not valid for flying.

According to the Filipina rep that answered (sounded kinda gwapa), she said that a positive PCR test within the past 90 days, along with a doctor's note saying you've recovered from Covid, will get you boarded on the plane. I said well, since the passenger has been in the DR, the note would be from a Dominican doctor. Is that good? Yes sir.

Thanks man, good to know. So if you're hanging around and plan on traveling to the US in the next 90 days, why not go get tested. You night get lucky and get a false positive at that point, rather than when you got your shit all packed and ready to fly. Go find a doctor and say you were sick but now you're feeling great. Problem solved in advance.

With superbowl around the corner this is the right time to open.Superbowl starts after curfew so I don't know how you would expect them to be open for Superbowl. I see the manager of the place almost every day and even he doesn't know when they are going to open. The curfew hours are really holding them back, plus another issue that I will not mention on an open forum.

Everybody expected huge price drops because only hardcore mongers and sexpats were going to risk travel. The problem is with all that stimulus it either increased sex tourism or the market for sex tourism stabilized. I just changed apartments and gave up a luxurious 2 bedroom on the northside of SD for a studio near the malecon for the same price. When I saw what I gave up I wanted to move back but the place was already snapped up.
Same thing for Sosua is the crowds lighter on Pedro sure but guys are still spending their PPE money in Ahnvee every weekend. That's why he knew he could raise prices for the superbowl. Guys are coming anyway. I know some girls who are already there.
On one of the travel groups a dude announced an 80 person group tour (men and women) going to Punta Cana in June. When you have actual vacationers willing to spend half of what they would spend in Miami or Vegas that's a problem for the budget monger. Even if people come on a family getaway you'd have to assume that the Family guy might slip and fall into some pussy by accident. The Island is too small If a chick can get one monger a month who spends 100 for a quickie and two a year that sends a one time payment of 100 through WU she's not going to want to accept 1500 pesos from a jaded sexpat.
Same thing is going to happen in CTG but Colombia is big Vacationers generally won't leave the coast go inland in DR or Colombia and prices will be reasonable. But the DR needs to work on it's internal infrastructure. The Blackouts and slow internet is a problem. The DR with the fact they never closed the borders or demanded a quarantine shows that it's Thailand West. They should acknowledge this and cater to the monger market.

Trip.For work reason I can't go back to Colombia until they drop the testing to enter requirement. But when they do Cartagena will be my new hangout. More expensive than sosua, but I don't care. I had a ball! The ladies, the city, plenty to see, amazing food. I can't wait to go back. For 10 k pesos, about 3 $, you can go pretty much anywhere. I saw alot of sosua dudes. But the city is big enough to move around. I got to get to know it. I need a bar or 2 in every area because I like to move around. All things in time. Peace.

So after almost 20 years of reading this board I hope we can FINALLY can lay to rest of the sky is falling crap I. E. The end of Sousa. Because as you can see from the latest superbowl video (see link at the bottom. If link don't work go old school and copy and paste) that even during an pandemic, Sosua is NOT dead.

If link don't work go old school and copy and paste) that even during an pandemic, Sosua is NOT dead.Only problem is that the video is centered on Ahnvee Resort, not Sosua. That is like guys staying at Blackbeards or Oasis and making a blanket statement about what is going on in Puerto Plata because of what they see in either of those venues. And there really are not many people in the video like you would find before on Pedro Clisante, especially during Superbowl. So while a few chicks from around the area may have gotten dressed up and stepped inside of Ahnvee for 1 night, that can not be used to say Sosua is poppin or not dead.

Just came back from a week long trip. The biggest issue was about the test for return, where, what and how much. I also decided to take a PCR- RT test before I left home to make sure I was okay. Once I was in the DR, I had several options and I had to figure out, which worked best for me.
In Sosua, the best option for me was the lab (Laboratorio Clinico Puerto Plata) right in front of Playero, the other side of the street. Antigen test 2000 (PCR-RT is 4400). I decided for the cheaper option. The catch is that, you have to go in the morning to enroll, return for the nasal sample at 11 AM and subsequently, get back one more time at 4.30 PM, for the printed report. The secretary there has a long face too which did not help. By the way, if you go, there is a machine there hanging on to the wall, on your right as you enter, with a ticket for your queue number but they do not tell you about that when you go in. It is part of your discovery process.
The other option in Sosua was CMC. That others have already mentioned. I did not bother to go there.
By the way, New Garden has the possibility to collect samples and deliver at a cost of 2500 Pesos. The day I checked them out, I was the only potential and so there was uncertainly as to whether they could invite the lab for one person. The process was quite iffy and I decided to go straight to the lab rather than using a middleman.
There were other options in Pto Pta, including the main office for Laboratorio Clinico Puerto Plata. They also offer a home collection option, 800 pesos if I recall.
Overall, there is nothing to sweat about in terms of the 3 day window and the airline looked at the "negative" and put it back inside the envelop.

They're not requiring that you take the PCR test. You can get an antigen result in less than three hours. The price was 2000 pesos.

When: Was in for 2 weeks in the area around super bowl week and next. Stayed near Puerto Plata area but was going back and forth all across the area.
Pandemic update: Everything seems to be pretty much upto speed. Places that I went are reasonably back to normal and it seemed that folks knew exactly how to manage around quarantine times. Weekdays 7 pm. In by 10 pm; Weekends 5 pm -in by 8 pm.
Chicas: This time I pretty much sourced from Tinder and some from FB. The interesting thing is that all the FB "friends' that I had made were in Tinder as well. All of them were fairly straight in terms of contact- video call, followed by whatsapp "quanto es?" conversation. Most of the numbers were from 3 to 5 k DOP for 2-3 hours. No chicas had any challenges with being around for the entire duration and were very pretty accommodating with various services. I pretty much went to every cabana near Puerto Plata. Best cabana (and also somewhat expensive at 1100 DOP for 3 hours) was Venus Cabana. La Rokka and Isla Cabana were ok. I also went to a cabana near cabarette that was decent (forgot the name). In general, I find the cabanas as an easy way to operate.
Overall: Pretty decent trip. Weather was great and I had quite a bit of supply to chicas to work with.
Antigen Test: Did that in centro medico Bournigal in the city of Puerto Plata. Went there AM -paid 2000 pesos. They sent the result by email as well as whatsapp messaged me the same day. Fairly straightforward with wait time no more than 15-20 minutes if you go at 8 am (as they open).

All right gentleman I just finished a 10 day trip on Wednesday and previous went a week before this for week so I'll combine that trip report into this one. I'll just do some quick things I noticed one where can you find chicas with the curfew answer everywhere I went to bailey's a couple times for drinks and took note that chicas are in here looking for business all day everyday and pretty good quality also. I went to Anhvee about fives time its best Thursday-Saturday packed with ladies about 10 worth taking. One thing I must say I didn't take any chicas but I spoke to a couple ladies to get a fill of prices and must say they started at 4000 peso st which I thought was crazy for Sosua. This was my first time back in Sosua in five years so the prices of chicas was a bit surprising because in 2016 you would get lower quotes. This was a good trip even without taking a chica as I'm scouting for a location to wait until Asia opens so this wasn't a pure mongering trip. Got my covid test done at Laboratorio Clinico Puerto Plata. Sosúa 2000 pesos easy process. Just mailed in my passport to get it renewed so won't be going anywhere for hopefully just a month or two.

When you meet a girl you have coordinate transportation. It is a pain and expensive. Having to coordinate with all the guys in your vila is also a pain. There is always atleast one clown in every group and you have to deal with them. One of Sosua best features is being able to walk every where you want in 10 minutes.

Respectfully, the best intel for your upcoming trip to Sosua can be found by going back about 20 or 30 pages in this forum and reading, reading, reading. Pay particular attention to how the COVID situation has affected the availability of girls and the status of the clubs. Then, after all of that reading, if you have a more specific question, most definitely ask, and we will try our best to help you.
Also, make sure your buddy who runs the travel agency hooks you and your group up with a reputable and trusted driver and safe vehicle. Some groups of guys in the past have traveled to the Dominican Republic, trusted the wrong people, and ended up getting into trouble with law enforcement. I can't find the link, but I remember reading a story on Sosuanews a few years ago about a group of guys who rented a villa and trusted a local to procure some girls. The local ended up getting less-than-legal-age girls and police raided the villa while the party was in progress. Arrests were made.

Sosua is a small walkable town. I rent a car always because I like to hook up with a girl for a couple of days and make her my temporary GF.
I like to drive out of the places to go to nice locations, go to nice restaurants, out of the way beach and get immersed in local culture.
If all you want to do is pick up girls and have fun in the villa you do not need a driver and car. If you want to travel for the day you can hire a van for that day.
Maybe your friend in the travel agency can hook you up with some girls but it always comes with a premium. If you read the forum locations where the girls are is explained. As for rates it is all over the place. In my book negotiations are very important. Most girls once negotiated stick to the rates. There are few bad apples who try to cause problems. Nothing cannot be solved with few extra pesos. Negotiate type of service, how long etc.
There are expensive high end bars in PP you can try if they are open and also Discoes where pretty girls go if they are open.

I've finally taken my maiden mongering voyage last month. After doing my research I realized for the easiest experience as a newcomer to the hobby is to do the DR specifically Blackbeards and Sosua. Everyone was right, you basically have to be in a coma not to get laid out there. I did 3 days starting 2/6/21. I'm already looking to schedule some more trips to other mongering spots. Would appreciate any help on deciding where to go from the vets who know the game better than me. With that said, here is my trip report.
Day 1 - Fly into Puerto Plata, nothing special (though the clapping threw me off) and got a taxi to Blackbeards. Seemed pretty obvious he was upcharging me as soon as he figured out I was going to Blackbeards. Whatever, still cheap and head to Blackbeards. By time I arrive there are a decent amount of girls. Drop off my bags, go downstairs to order some food (food is pretty good for the price in my opinion) and was immediately approached by 2 girls for a threesome. Wasn't interested, they weren't my type. The girls in general looked a little worn. All were skinny dark girls. Someone said the be squad is out during the day. Finish my food and pick one of the girls, like the others, skinny dark girl. I wish I would of got her name because she was the worst one. She seemed inexperienced and rode me very awkwardly. Paid her and took a nap. Woke up and at this point some better girls were out. Definitely some 7-8's but if you go expecting to find some model quality girls you're going to be disappointed. If I go back, I'll probably stay at a resort in Puerto Plata and get a little smash pad airbnb as well and just bring girls out to me. The best luxury is hanging in a private pool with young beauties surrounding you! I will report back on the experience.

But please understand that many folks here go to their favorite destinations several times a year. So when you arrive for a short visit and pay gringo prices, next time they'll ask for more. Even worse, they'll brag about the overpaying gringo to their girlfriends (perhaps exaggerating a bit too), and now their girlfriends start asking more. It's a vicious cycle. It may not bother you on your 3-day visit, but other mongers who frequent the place. It will throw them off their budget. Just a few years ago, Sosua working girls were charging 800 pesos, then 1,000 pesos, then it was 1,500, then 2,000 and 2,500 and the more they can get away with, the colder and more hardened the service becomes. Asking 5,000 for ST (that's closer to $90 than $80, by the way), man, that chick has some balls on her.
When I appreciate the service, I may take the girl out and buy her or her kid something nice. I may give her a little gift I bring from the States. But I always negotiate, and I do not tip. Just understand, they ain't going to respect you more for overpaying. If anything, they'll think less of you, not more.

Reading the trip report for prices during covid. Things have change in the past year for girls.
I have been going to Sosua since about 2007. Gave up on long time. Too much hassle to get some action in the morning. So the going rate for short time in 2019 before covid.
I was paying 1500 p before 7 pm for short time. Sometime 2000 p. After 7 pm it was 2000 p for short time. Never had any problems with the girls turning me down after 7 pm. Plus I would give them one or two hundred tip for moto. (Going rate for longtime in town in 2019 was 3000 p).

Because "comfortable" has so many meanings, Questner's link provides good info on a basket of products, and you can find rental info on line depending on location, location, location. I'm only familiar with Sosua and PP apartments.
In Sosua, centrally located, close to beaches, supermarkets, restaurants, a vacation vibe in the air, a one bedroom condo, with pool, pool bar, maid service, and security (meaning no bars on your widows, doors or balcony) goes for around 700 per month, averaged out over the year.
Without most of the above mentioned conveniences, ex pats I know pay 350 to 450. Quite a difference.
A one bed apartment in a residential area of PP goes for around 180. Transportation required to the above mentioned conveniences.

The fewer Covid-19 cases are occurring as the nation is immersed in a nationwide inoculation drive. There is concern, nevertheless, that the great mobility of the population over the Easter Week holiday may bring a spike in cases. The effects of the Easter holiday on the spread of the virus will not be known until mid April.
The curfew is from 9 pm to 5 am on Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays and Sundays, the curfew is from 7 pm to 5 am. A three hour free transit period is allowed.
Open-air public spaces, such as parks and boulevards, can be used for activities other than social gatherings and always complying with preventive health protocols. Gyms, restaurants and bars are allowed to reopen to 60% of their capacity. A maximum of six persons per table is allowed, among other health protocols. Religious ceremonies are allowed three days a week, as long as they keep within 60% of the capacity of the church and churchgoers must keep their masks on during the service. Theaters have resumed showings under health protocols.

And 100 usd just to be with a female for a couple hours. Thats NOT a typo. I literally had my guide repeat what hes saying and let him know I for damn sure will NOT be paying that. First off I only talk in pesos. So if any female talks in American dollars and not peso that's a HUGE red flag.
So as you venture outside of sosua understand that since you're staying down there for 2 months you should be trying to get whatever you pay for down to domincian prices as much as possible. Remember stay in peso so not 100 usd but 5500 pesos (which is about 96 dollars). Most of the OG mongers stay out of that area simply because even at the prices you're paying is still consider ridiculous. Its like Vegas my main residence. A chica working in the casino at the Bellagio and the Wynn is going to start off no less then $500 dollars. Now you go outside the casinos and you'll see the same chica on Tropicana blvd working the street corner going for $75 dollars. Its the same within DR. As you venture away from Sosua you should have it in your mind to cut your Sosua prices in half. And your intangibles will play a big part in your cost. Do you speak spanish, do you have time on your side, how you treat a woman (because word spreads fast down there), understanding there culture etc all these factor into your cost negotiation. They'll be times that you can do everything right, negotiating up front etc and drama may still come your way. Don't be afraid to cut your loses and do what you need to do to end the drama ASAP. Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you but youll know not to deal with that chica any more.
Anyway since you're down there for awhile use your best intangible asset which is time. You have time to tell a sosua chick that I'm only paying 4500 peso for all night. If they say no that's cool plenty of options outside of town thatll take that and even less. Ooh and one more thing NEVER underestimate these chicas. They may not be book smart but theyll size a dude up real quick. So if you come wide eyes looking like a kid in the candy store she already uping the price. You lusting over her curves in her mind she thinking I got his ass. So be cool. Interview her ass over a beer. I spent couple of days SD then caught bus to Sosua. It was nothing like the good old days but there enough action to make it work. Had a couple winners and some not so great. My never again was catching a ride to SD with a girl I knew. The deal I buy 2000 pesos for gas she drives win win. Naaaaaaa. I said leave by 730. She comes at 650 great start and she has friend looking good. From here everthing goes down hill. She takes the scenics route to Santiago. 30 miles curved dirt roads. She is driving 30 mph she is the poster child for distracted driving.
Lighting cigarettes joints drinking beer while talking on phone. Scared shitless would desribe my mood. She stopped for beer smokes. Which made me nervioso for my flight. She has a very nice almost new car but the car over heating alarm came on. We go to a gas station to check it out more time. On the road again a road crew sprays asphaut on car covering front window a bit. We get some help from locals on side of road. This before we get to Santiago. Once in Santiago we stop again at a carwash to clean window car tic tic getting nervous. Why didn't catch 6 am caribe for 500 pesos. I figured 2000 pesos riding in comfort fair. My driver is now in afoul mood she loves her car.

No she was not a friend. She like most Dominicans I know will take advantage when they get a chance. I was being a friend to her. I thought it could be a win win. She used me as much as she could. I was in a bad position. I did not wnt to miss my flight and did not have many options. I actually considered calling a Uber in Santiago. My total cost was closer to 5000 pesos. !0 times what the bus cost but less then 50% of a cab. The driver and the other female in the car were fussing with one another so I moved to front seat. Years ago, a fellow monger introduced me to his friend, a retired colonel in Santiago. One day, he took us to the army base at the top of some hill for some national holiday party. Which was fun, but on the way back, down those pitch-dark windy mountain lane, he's nursing a cigarette in one hand, rum in a plastic cup in another, all the while talking to my buddy in the back seat and steering with his knees at some points. I'll never forget this ride.
I feel very fortunate to have survived. Honestly watching on coming cars coming while passing.

Just arrived in POP a few days ago for a quick 2 week recon trip. First time in DR, staying in the Cabarete area but I rented a car which has definitely come in handy so far. Road and drivers aren't too bad, if you've driven in Mexico or CR or Bali then it's pretty much the same.
Finally had a chance to check out Sosua this afternoon but only for a bit. Decent talent out in the sweltering heat around 4 pm, but I imagine there's a lot more ladies out and about further in the evening. I got one chica's number that had massive tits, they looked real to me and her two friends were pretty cute too. I'll be checking out Sosua more thoroughly tomorrow (Friday) when I have more time, I'm traveling solo per usual so if anyone wants to grab a drink and chew the fat the first beers on me. Also, any advice on where to eat? Everything has been lackluster so far, I thought Colombia was bad but the DR is definitely giving it a run for its money. So far I tried pretty decent wings at Crazy Ranch, an ok seafood bowl at Fresh Fresh, and pretty disappointing food at Cafe Tropical cafeteria. I'd love to try some authentic local food that's reasonably sanitary but I'm open to any and all suggestions. There seem to be some nice trendy cafes in Cabarete but I feel silly traveling all the way to the Caribbean and eating gringo food.
One other quick note, I was checking Tinder and noticed most of the girls seem to be located 25 or more miles away at a nearby college or something. Matched with one chick nearby who said she came to Sosua to work for the weekend but her pictures were nothing to get excited about. And besides, most of the girls on Tinder seemed like normal girls, not as many obvious prepagos like in Medellin. Is there any online action here at all or is it all in the streets and bars basically? Unless you live here I imagine of course.
!st parking is free and you park all most any where. Sosua has good food. Bailey offer good food and is a stomping ground for women. Rumbas and Ahnvee are the 2 best spots for meeting women and the beach. Just remember almost any woman you see is a potential bed mate.

The best places to meet mangoes in Sosua are:
Pedro Clisante. They have a lot of bars, restaurant, Chica friendly hotel and girls walking in the street. Ahnvee is also in Pedro Clisante. Same girls in Ahnvee wiil be in the areas.
Sosua Beach: Fast Freddies on Sosua Beach if you want great sea food / You will see both pro and non pro there. Best time is from 2 PM-5 PM. After 5 PM go to Pedro Clisante. I have not tried tried the other beaches yet but I will try them next week.
I would not recommend to use Tinder for chicas in Sosua. It is a waste of time unless you are looking for a relationship. I been in DR for 2 weeks now and I did not try to meet any girls from tinder.

Sanchez, parking for Sosua Beach is a long the busy highway as you probably know by now, then you walk down the hill to the beach. Alicia is a nicer beach but Sosua is where the hookers roam in the afternoon. Then as Kong noted, in the evening it moves to the streets around town.
Don't know about local grub but by far the best restaurant I found is up the hill from Playero Supermarket. Hispanolia overlooks the golf course for a great ocean view. Try the tuna, it's insane. And ask for some garlic butter sauce for sopping, and mushroom gravy for the potatoes.
My experience on Tinder is opposite Kong's, it's mostly all players. Make sure your distance is set within just a few miles, obviously, but the search automatically widens as you go through the ones closest. A lot of them live in Sosua Abajo and Montellano, which arent that far, they can take a motorcycle. You might want to pay the 30 bucks to see who "liked" you. Also that lets you change your location to the next place you'll be to get a running start.
Personally, I like the beaches better in Sosua, but I think Puerto Plata is a lot better for good poon. Especially since you have transportation, you need that to get around the town. There's a ton of them on Cupid, better quality in my opinion than Sosua, where they are much more hard-core and overpriced. The beach in Puerto Plata is windy as hell whereas Sosua and Alicia are protected (the time of year I was there). But the strip of beach along Costembar is nice. It's good to bounce back-and-forth for a week at a time if you can.
I'm permanently working remotely now (perhaps the only positive thing to come out of COVID) and I am dying to take a working trip. I imagine staying in a hotel and being able to walk out the door between meetings and lunchtime and grab a girl and go back to the hotel and get to work. I'd like to go to Bogota but it seems they have alot of restrictions there so I was thinking of Sosua for this purpose. Any thoughts on this plan? Perhaps Boca Chica would be better? I'd like to stay in a nice place that has good wifi (need this for work).

Most accommodations here provide a basic WIFI service with varying reliability. Bars and restaurants have free WIFI. So for the price of a coffee, agua or beer you can set up at a nice table inside or out. My carrier is Altice, so I don't even bother to carry the data package anymore, as free WIFI is available almost everywhere I go in town.
You can also set up your phone with Altice as a "personal hot spot" if you roll outside the local coverage.
My regular gifted me her personal rented Huwai router, so I'm not relying on my spotty apt service at home.
Also if you are a resident you could subscribe to a local expat entrepreneur who puts his own tower and sells 4 g to clients in his area. Love the lack of regulations, and free enterprise here.

I lost my old DR Sim card. Since December they have been requiring passports or identification to issue new Sim cards. I'm not comfortable with leaving my passport information in a Claro store. I've witnessed them taking previous people's passport information and using it to assign other people Sim cards off that information.
Now I just pay for an international plan Through my normal carrier. My T-Mobile here works better than it does in the US.

Perfect for a short term remote work experience.So I just got back from a 2 week stay in Barranquilla and Santa Marta and stayed in several high end, resort style hotels in bot locations and I can assure you I had no problem getting women into any of them. One did charge me a small fee because I had 2 women overnight (for a couple of days actually). But none of the others gave me a lick of problems.
It may have had something to do with the fact that I had a Colombian girlfriend with me and we checked in together at all of them and typically either we went down together to meet the girl and went to the pool deck for drinks first. Other times I had her go down and bring them up. We also met several women at the hotel bar or pool that led to some adventures and twice met couples for the same.
I absolutely love Colombia and will be returning about every 6 weeks from here on out for a long weekend or so.
Based on all the reports about the DR and Cuba I probably need to expand my horizons a bit though. LOL.
Sure beats the hell out of the quality of woman you will typically get in the states unless you are willing to fork out tons of money.
I'll take Latin America over the good ole USA for mongering everyday.

Gogo explained to me along time ago you have to switch your countries. It makes you enjoy them both better. Cuba and Colombia gave me the switch up I need it. When I finally made it back to the DR I was more Appreciative.

I just tested my internet speed again right now and it's 4 up and 4 down. No idea why, maybe because it's Sunday. This is all using speedtest.net and I'm staying closer to Cabarete (Cable Atlantico SRL). I'm also staying at a larger shared building so maybe someone is hogging all the bandwidth here today. But it definitely doesn't feel slow for some reason if that's any consolation. I've had much worse internet at my last condo in Medellin.
Quick mini monger report: I've only had sessions with 3 girls since I've been here, mainly because I'm not staying in Sosua proper and been busy with work and other stuff. But it's definitely true that prices are higher, the quality of girls is somewhat lacking, and GFE is definitely not the norm. Also most of the women seem to be older and they almost always have had kids already. The plus side of the chicas here is that they are definitely more voluptuous on average than Colombian girls. I like my girls curvier and all-natural so I'm not complaining. But if you're looking for model type spinners they are definitely more rare out here. Out of the 3 girls, 2 had great big natural tits, 2 were MILFs with gnarly see section scars but not a whole lot of stretch marks surprisingly, and one was a 20 yo flaquita with nice perky be's and no kids. Only 1 of the girls was GFE light, the other 2 were definitely more business like. I should also mention 2 girls were from Ahnvee, one was from a cafe on the street. All 3 were visiting and not from this actual area. Two of them started out asking for 120 usd but agreed to 5 k pesos. The flaquita accepted 4 k pesos. There was a street girl near Valeria offering a massage and sexo to basically anyone passing by for 2500 pesos tho so the deals are still out there, who knows how the service would have been like though. Also, I'd estimate about at least 60 or 70% of the girls out here are black or black mixed, not a whole lot of light skin or European looking girls out here but there are some. Colombia definitely has hotter women for way less money and even more GFE on average I'd say. Sosua is more like Jaco I guess, but it's been years since I've been back there.
Quick tip for newbies about Ahnvee, it really only starts to get popping starting at 9 pm at the very earliest, better around 10 to midnight and they are open until 3 am apparently. Curfew really doesn't seem to be enforced out here but I heard there are roadblocks if you're leaving Sosua heading to Puerto Plata or heading out east leaving cabarete. But I wouldn't have even known there a was curfew if everything didn't close at 9 pm basically.

Sosua really isn't that complicated when it comes to mongering here, the hard part seems to be having the time and patience to filter through all the chaff to find the hidden gems. Finally found some decent places to eat too but nothing amazing to be honest.

It doesn't prevent you from getting the virus or transmitting it. That's the purpose requiring everyone to take a test to re-entry the US.

I don't make up this shit!!3 weeks after your second shot you have probably 90% protection. There's still the 10%. And. There is a possibility (probably not a high probability) that people that are immune to Covid can still carry it in their nasal passages because the antibodies can't get at it there. Who knows. But, the big reason is that you basically have to have everyone wear masks or no one. Otherwise you can't enforce or do anything with public rules. Stores are not going to have the ability to determine if your claim to have been vaccinated and when is sufficient to let you in without a mask.
So. For the meantime, suck it up. Wear a mask. It really doesn't hurt. And it helps your fellow man. And when enough get vaccinated that this thing dies down everyone can take them off.

I don't make up this shit!!No, you don't. The shots dramatically reduce transmissions, infections and severe cases, but don't eliminate them. It's been clearly communicated by the CDC, state health departments and the media.
On a personal level, vaccination surely didn't hurt me since I didn't catch the disease while being in close proximity to a few sick relatives for days before and after they showed symptoms. Just get your shots or it'll never be over.

In my personal experience I have been to many casas in Santo Domingo / Santo Domingo este with prices quotes of less than that. A search of the Santo Domingo forum will reveal them.
But if you are a casa hater then you would not know this now would you? Still even if you hate casas that is no reason to spread information that is not accurate about them.

German restaurant / bar near Hotel Central on Pedro Clisante is a nice spot from 5 pm to 7 pm.
You can try a bar inside Europa Hotel. Later into the night bar at Ahnvee Hotel, bar at Coco Hotel, Casino Playa Chiquita, Caribbean Diamond, Copacabana restaurant, and bar at Las Palmeras.

My room was poolside and very nice. The food in the restaurant was very good and the hotel is chica friendly but limited to 1 overnight guest. Internet was acceptable. Also, enjoyed stay at BB albeit a rather limited selection but definitely picked up on the Friday evening I was there.

Smells like they are having to wet some big beaks. The information comes directly from my personal experiences, observations and direct discussion with both locals / expats. Restaurants that I enjoy for Valué are Matteos Seaside Pub on Pedro Clisante. Ramonas for their Dominan Plate also on Pedro Clisante is part of or connected with Hotel Europa. Osteria Toscaña for their pizza also located on Pedro Clisante. Flip Flop Sports Bar also on Pedro Clisante near Casino Coral and Osteria Toscaña. There are several local restaurants on Pedro Clisante just pass Surfs Liquor store where you can get a 150RD meal of a rice, a meat and salad. I'm a pizza guy and out of the 5 restos I've tried, NBlounge, Osteria Toscaña, Margot, bologna, call a pizza, my choice is osteria toscaña for quality. Margot / bologna would follow although my wait time avg has been no less than 40-45 minutes. The worst would be call a pizza, a margherita pizza is sauce, cheese and fresh basil in my book Not oregano. Bars that I enjoy for value are Rumba / Kings on Pedro clisante, Flip Flop Sports bar, brick city flames, ramonas, md's, matteos and jarabli. All locations are on pedro clisante. One thing that I learned by asking questions is that all restos charge an 18% (itbis) tax. The items price may or may not include the tax. The second charge is called (legal / ley), this is the 10% service tax (tip) that may or may not be included on your bill. If not included in your bill then you can decide to leave a tip. If it is included in your bill and you leave a tip you are essentially tipping twice. Value means quality, location, consistent, price. So, when I go to ramonas for the dominican plate rd250 or matteos for breakfast and café rd275, I know their prices include the 18% tax and you can leave a tip if you choose to it's not built into your bill. Some restos will include the 28% tax in your overall bill and expect you to tip as well. Travel, when traveling to Puerto Plata, ill take a taxi (aka carrito / taxi colectivo directly across the street from la bomba / gasolinera / tex ahhco to the hospital and get out at the semáforo (traffic light). The hospital and taxi stand / carritos de sosua will be on your left. From there you can grab a motoconcho for 30-35 to the local vicinity (la sirena, jumbo, miami bar, atlanta lights, metro bus station, guramboa and along the malecon. When it's time to return to sosua say carritos de sosua given them 35 pesos and they will take you to the taxi stand near the hospital. Once you arrive their may be a cue / line, wait for a taxi, the first four people are let in, you pay 90 pesos (you say para sosua or sosua) and you'll be dropped off at the same spot, directly across the street from texaco. Same process and location for Cabarete but the cost is 35 pesos for taxi. Yes, you can make requests to be dropped off in between their designated route. For example, if you wanted to go to the malecon you could get off near the roundabout and catch a motoconcho for 30 pesos. After hours Sosua: on weekends Friday and Saturday after the bars close (10 p, m-f, 9 p, sat / sun) are Ahnvee, copacabaña, ramonas, treehouse, casino coral reef with disco. I can't speak to Caribbean Diamond or Hotel Voramor having afterhour service. Cabaña, Dulce Secreto is located in the Playa Chiquita área off of Calle alejo martínez in the direction of Hotel votamos and caribbean diamond. If you needed another location to spend time with your female friends. Cost:750rd-4 hours, 1500rd-night. Finally, after curfew I've walked the streets mostly and I've seen travel amongst the community in cars, motoconchos and on feet. I'll see the cops and continue on my journey with no problem. On other ocasiones I would be stopped shaken down and asked where are you going or they may ask for documents. At this point I would present my phone and show a foto of my passport, and tell them any combination of the following: I'm a tourist on vacation, I'm traveling to my hotel, I'm traveling to the farmacy I'm traveling to the restaurant. This three hour travel window is unclear but I've noticed if you travel by motoconcho cost is 100rd and they will employ escape measures if they see any cops / roadblocks. The taxi minivans can cost 300-500rd from your location to say ahnvee. Chirito is a dominican taxi driver and he speaks some english cost is 300, +1 (829) 275-7551. Enjoy your travels gents.

German restaurant / bar near Hotel Central on Pedro Clisante is a nice spot from 5 pm to 7 pm.
You can try a bar inside Europa Hotel. Later into the night bar at Ahnvee Hotel, bar at Coco Hotel, Casino Playa Chiquita, Caribbean Diamond, Copacabana restaurant, and bar at Las Palmeras.
There are girls few that probably close to their 40's and still working, most are slim and still look presentable. I usually give them my nicknames. Same with chicas, you can take your chances on the street, or take a little time to pick from many in the bars and beach over a coke or a beer. Most serving staff are available, and if you tip well, they'll be all over you like flies, LOL.

The cops came into my bar today and shook hands and hugged the owner, as usual. They told him that as of today no alcohol can be served in bars or restaurants, or Colmados, after 3 pm for the next week. The servers were asked to put on masks and transfer the beverages to foam cups, then left.

Arrived in the Sue on Thursday. I can tell by the amount of chicas on the bus the Sue was going to be packed. Everything seems a bit busier for a Thursday.
We got the word on Anhvee that night. They are only allowing their residence entry. A lot of girls triple up together to buy rooms hoping not having to sleep in there rooms.

You can't expect a guy who travels for a weekend to turn down the best looking girl in its standard because he didn't want to spend an extra $20 or $30. This is madness. Especially if the guy is spending way more on hotel, flight, and bottles (assuming the person is a baller). Everybody who leaves in sosua or dr has time on his side, than most of us don't. Even when classico, merengue, and rumba were all opened, I have always preferred to get girls before 10 pm, then go back back to classico, and pick one when the club closed because after that most girls had to make a decission either you go home with nothing or you get 2500 peso.
The only thing we on this board have control over is to write good reviews, that will make more guys book a trip to Sosua. I was hesitating about between sosua and cartagena, but after I read grownman report I was like fuck that I am going to sosua. I didn't want to spend my time worrying about which hotel or airbnb is girl friendly or not. That's why I decided to go with the familar sosua than cartagena. I booked my flight for early August, and I will make sure to write a report after I get back. This is the only way we can help prices go down. The more guys decide to go to sosua, more girls will decide to come down to Sosua, and prices will have to adjust.
It's not because a girl sell pussy that she can't see what is in her best strategy to make more money. All the guys going to Avhnee have a limited number of nuts, girls got it figured that it is much easier to hold the line at 4000 peso, than going for 2000 peso. Ahvnee is the prime target to overcharge guys, why would you expect them to charge what they charge the same guy during the day or during the week.
Everything follows the supply and demand law, the advantage girls have in sosua over us is that they know each other and have a better chance fixing price for them. And that strategy will work for some, unless more girls decide to come down sosua. And for that to happen we need more mongers, which means more good reviews coming from us who were there or who plan to go there. That's the only thing we have control over because nobody here is sharing the numbers of girls who charge 1500 or 2000 peso.
A good comparison to what 's happing to sosua right now is the price to get an hair cut in the US. I used to pay $20 to $25 before covid, now I am paying $40. And now most of them want an appointment. There is probably the same numbers of barbers available, but many of their customers learned to cut their hair by themselves. But prices didn't drop to $10 instead they doubled.

This place used to be paradise on earth from what I've heard but I keep hearing the chica prices going up to $150-$200, wtf? Not just here but videos on yt as well.
I am planning a mongering vacation and DR was my first choice but Colombia is looking more and more promising. $20-$40 there on average for chicas consistently across the board.

Why is the board always focused about the weekend warriors...I agree. The weekend warriors focus on the hardcore hoes anyway. My next trip will be after the current curfew of July 15. I have girls I can see from years back, who are still nice and a lot of fun. Also, there are a lot of new semi-pros caused the pandemic. They are easy to spot. If you meet a nice girl in POP, for example, she'll find her way to you apartment to make some money and enjoy company. I think 2000-3000 is still the stand for the semi-pros because they know its better than nothing.

So most of the times you get professional, cold and rushed service ala leche papi leche. CBJ is often required.
Asking for even more money after the deed is also very popular and it seems that the weekend millionars have teached them that also.
IMO DR is not worth it.
Only the Haitians were mostly ok, but then I prefer to go directly to Mombasa. Much better and cheaper Mongering there.

2. History and old architecture. If you care, pick Cartagena.
3. If all you care about is mongering on a budget, that's Bogota. Or Medellin, which might be slightly more expensive, but has better climate.

There are miles of essentially unihabited beaches between Cartagena and Santa Marta, some windswept, some sheltered. The beach northeast of CTG airport is wide open for miles and filled (overfilled, IMO) with decent hotels, condos and Airbnb's -- probably easy to get an incall, or is a pretty short ride to El Centro. Santa Marta's city beach is Rodadero, which is not quite as bad (touts, crowding, murky water) as the beaches in Boca Grande (CTG). From what I saw in Santa Marta (five years ago) there are a ton of broke Veneca SWer's. Really nice sheltered beaches in Taganga, which 30 years ago was a hippie / nudist haven, but I've heard has become more of a shithole with prostibulas and drugs!
Personally, I would fly to CTG, rent a car and stay in an Airbnb NE of the airport. Here's a google earth image looking SW towards CTG

What I like about sosua is no need for transportation, and the farthest you will have to go with a taxi or motocycle is maybe less than 5 minutes away. And it's way more easier to get girls in sosua compared any other monger destinations in the world. According to my friends only Bogota can give many options throughout the day like in sosua. Then Bogota during the day it is mostly santa fe which is full of harcore streetworkers, and you are not using your hotel. So when your time is up you get a knock on the door or pay more. Cartagena doesn't have too many options during the day.
What I don't like about sosua, girls try to run games. You got to really study the behavior of girls you decide to take. If you are being rushed, she is probably going to rush in the bedroom too. Expect CBJ from most girls but that always depends on you. If you speak spanish then you will have an advantage that I don't I have. But I still do fine with limited spanish.
As far as who is hotter, if you are more attracted to white looking girls then go to columbia. If you are into mixed or black girls then go to DR.
Both places have hot women. One thing about sosua is you are not into the big booty girls you probably won't be in direct competition with the weekend warriors LOL.
