I can never find a good massage. EVERY place wants to offer me extras after 8 min overly oily half ass back rub. I know Sosua is not SEA but it hard to imagine there is no decent body massage or foot massage. It would be heaven after a long flight. I have seen this advice posted in the past -- pay in pesos, not in dollars. But as long as one is aware of the exchange rate, I do not understand the disadvantage in paying in dollars. Would someone please explain?

As I was visiting family who winter there, unfortunately this trip was pretty constrained to day time action which sucked, on top of Sosua being a lot shitter than I remember 2010-2017 . The Friday before Christmas was busy with a few lookers even during the day. The week of Christmas was dead atleast during the day.
I did make it it down the Friday after Christmas, perhaps I was a bit early 8-9 pm only saw a few that piqued my attention but couldn't be bothered to negotiate and find a ST room etc.
All my action was out of this place. The'Pina Beauty Parlor and Spa on Dr Rosen, there is another place beside it, both all Hatian girls. I picked this place cause it had the youngest and hottest. I was worried it might be a bait and switch. I can't recall her name but young and pretty but gave a really good strong massage. 600 for HH, 1000 for H. Extras 1000 for HJ 3000 for FS with 2000 for something in between. TBH it was nothing special but did the trick at a lower price than home.
Sosua is good for some living on the East Coast but I wouldn't go again would go to other places even if its further and more expensive.

1. Alicia Beach has arbitrary prices. Their Posted price for a Standard Room, King Bed, on the chalk board outside their door is $50. However I was charged $60 a night. Manager said the price just went up when I showed her a photo of the prices outside. Liar. And I had a one-star room, if that. Noisy ceiling fan, AC remote did not work, Bathroom bad shape, toilet seat loose, Avoid.

Its $25 to Sosua. When you get out the airport goto there will be guys standing next to a big ass sign with their cab prices. But its $25 to Sosua. Enjoy.Yah watch out for the guy that will say 30 usd, or if one guy that's hand you off to an other taxi and is looking for a tip, only tip your driver if inclined to do so!
I was in Sosua 12/27 to 1/7. I had never been there over New Years before. My only complaint for the week is that I should have set up a date for New Years in advance. There were not a lot of girls out and about that night. Had to settle for what I could get. But for the week in general, I was able to find good girls throughout the week. So I just got back from Sosua for the first time. And I had so many observations. Mind you I arrived Monday and left Friday morning, so I didn't get the weekend experience.
For one I am a late 30 year old black man from the Bronx. I am surrounded by beautiful Dominican women on a daily basis, so I figured I should travel to their homeland to get a real experience.
For one, I was surprised at how many middle aged white men were in Sosua. The impression that I got was that mostly black men travel there to get their rocks off. Boy was I wrong. And its funny because it seems like all the black men congregated on one side of the street at a certain bar (Rumba), and the white men were on the opposite side of the street at another bar. LOL.
I have a tendency before I travel to any location to get on dating apps and just lay some groundwork before hand. Like alot of you mentioned, tinder was not needed. I didn't expect to see so many women just available for the taking. Alot of them were on tinder. It's like the entire economy of that area revolves around prostitution. I was like a kid in a candy store. Every shade, shape, size was available to me. I don't know what its like to be Lebron James and just go out and have women gawking at you, but being in Sosua gave me a small experience of what its like to be him. The men are hunted there and the women are the hunters.
So the first thing I did when I got there Monday afternoon was go to Baileeys for food. It was kinda dead when I got there. Then I went to get a haircut at Santana Barbershop. I had been following them on IG for years and was intrigued to say the least at the services they provide. The barber gave me a great haircut for $20 USD and of course they had the mamis in there shaking their asses. I'm sure I ended up in the background of one of their IG videos. Upon leaving I exchanged info with one of the women there. I later texted her and asked her what she charged for a one on one session. She quoted me 100 USD which is like 6000 DOP. Because of forums like this I knew that is very high for Sosua. She is was like a solid 7 with a nice natural jiggly ass. . So overall, Sosua was cool. Would I go back, hell yeah, am I dying to go back not so much. It may be crazy to say this, but I don't like it when they are so forward offering you sexual favors. At times I found myself more interested in the waitresses than the prostitutes. If I was to go back I would do some things differently. First off there is no need for Tinder. Secondly the moment I see a girl, I'm going to pounce. Because its not guaranteed I will see them again. There was this one mega booty chick I saw one time, I gave her my number, but she didn't hit me up. I definitely could have smashed that night. Also there was another girl who a dude at my airbnb must have called over and she was smoking hot. I saw her walking up to a room as I was leaving one night. What I should have done is just wait it out and get her number as she was leaving. She reminded me of Bernice Burgos.
I also should have aimed higher while I was there. Like shoot for more 9's and 10's and leave the 7's and 8's alone. Unlike in the US there is no such thing as rejection out there.
But you live and you learn. Last but most importantly, you have to budget while out there and stick to it!! Cause although it is not an expensive place, the money goes quickly with all the women at your disposal. So those are my takeaways from Sosua. Maybe I will try Colombia next. On Saturday, I arrived in Sosua at noon. I took a taxi from the airport, which is a rip off at $25 for a 10 minute ride, and I was too tired to walk out and grab a "gua gua. " After dropping off my bag and taking a shower, I headed to Super Pola to buy a local sim card and get some cash from Caribe Express. I discovered that the best way to avoid ATM fees and get the best exchange rate is to send money to myself in advance.
In terms of the local scene, I found that the food at Baileys, where I had lunch, was mediocre considering the price I paid. Unlike Thailand, there were no street vendors selling spinning toys and not many chicas approached me. However, I did notice a few chicas on the back of motorcycle taxis calling out to me, inviting me to join them like "vamos pappi chulo".
Overall, my first day in Sosua was a mix of practicalities and observations about the local environment.
I arrived back at the hotel and decided to catch up on some much-needed sleep. The delay of my flight had left me completely exhausted. Later in the evening, around 7 pm, I headed to Rumbas, a bar with a front-row seat to the main strip. It didn't take long for things to get interesting. I witnessed not one, but two fights that were loud and quite sketchy. The police quickly arrived and arrested a few individuals involved. To add to the excitement, a group of guys on motorcycles headed towards the bar and started throwing punches. As a seasoned traveler, though, I wasn't fazed at all. Everyone around me seemed curious, trying to figure out what was going on. I struck up conversations with a few locals, a few chicas offered me their services as for a hefty price of $100 an HR. However, I managed to negotiate the price down to 3 mil pesos per hour exchanged numbers but didn't bother. It's important to ask about any restrictions beforehand, as failure to do so may result in being turned down or having the price hiked up on you.
I decided to leave the bar and started walking around. That's when I saw two chicas and struck up a conversation. They were amazed by my Spanish skills and told me they were visiting from Santo Domingo. They seemed alright, but nothing too special one was a slimmer shorty and a taller curvy chuca. Knowing the local language has its advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, it allows me to communicate effectively with the locals and navigate my way around. On the other hand, there are times when it can work against me. One such instance is when I noticed that the people at the hotel treat me differently compared to other foreigners. It seems that they can be quite rude to the chicas, which is something I do not appreciate. It's important to treat everyone respect, regardless of their background.

When a place is cheaper guys think well back home this costs more. Never in history has someone gone to a place where things cost more and thought about things are much cheaper back home and thought they are getting ripped off because back home is less. A good rule of thumb is to try to gauge what things actually cost in that particular place by asking friends, looking on the internet, or even inquiring at the hotel reception desk.
Seems you made up for the haircut with the prices you were paying for most of the girls though. Many Sosua veterans report paying more for their girls than you managed to get yours for.

I Bought some electric clippers at the grocery store a few years back. I Use attachment 8 on top, 4 on the sides and taper down to a 3 towards the bottom, sometimes I use scissors around the ears and a plastic bic razor to shave the back of the neck. Hand held mirror lets me view the back with one hand while I use the clippers with the other hand. Much faster, takes about 5 minutes to do a good job, and no waiting for a haircut while others are ahead. No issues over the cost, its free, easier and more simple. No body has ever criticized my haircuts and I save about 45 minutes of dead time waiting each time, and probably $20-25 US each time.

So I just got back from Sosua for the first time. And I had so many observations. Mind you I arrived Monday and left Friday morning, so I didn't get the weekend experience.

You're pretty much not going to get around the $25 taxi from the airport. They have a pretty solid taxi mafia here.
The best way to get around the ATM fees is to get a Schwab visa check card. I'm sure it's been mentioned here before but they reimburse all ATM fees. It alleviates the need to carry cash because you can hit an ATM anywhere. Just keep enough cash for a back up in case the ATMs are empty.
I have found that Baileys is overpriced with bad service. There are a lot better places to eat, one of them being Mateo's on Pedro Clisante.
Most of the girls on the street or just ghetto ho's or ratchet Street rats, and pickpocket. At most I would give them 2500 pesos.
As you found out, the girls in the casino are nothing but the daytime street ho's, just dressed up and with make up and trying to charge $200.
One other thought, never negotiate or pay in dollars. Always use the local currency.

These drivers are ripping you guys off laughing all the way. A cab from PP to Sosua cost 20 to 30 bucks at most. They have the port locked down so you guys think they are the only options. Your driver was keeping others from ripping you off because you were his pigeon. Locals pay 1 dollar to travel between PP to Sosua. Sosua is full of cab drivers to bring you back. Glad you had fun but no way should you have to pay $200 for transportation. Day time action at the time of day you were there is a challenge. Glad you were able to fine some.

Because, let's say you give a small tip the first and second time. Then let's suppose the 3rd time you are short on money or just feel that the initial payment is sufficient. Well guess what, since she became accustomed to getting the tip, she's probably going to notice that it's not there this time, and be none too happy. If I am in a foreign country for more than a month I just get a local sim and keep the Fi for calls and texts to and from the USA I understand why they do that but the odd thing is if you spend 29 days in one country then go to another country they don't shut off your roaming data until you hit the 30 day limit in the new country. I just spent 26 days in the DR and 32 days in Colombia and they didn't shut my data off until I hit 30 in Colombia. It comes right back on when I return to the USA.

Yes but be very careful. Make sure you know the girls because if you don't they are likely to tag team. One fucks. One rifles your wallet LOL. There were never any repercussions besides her spitting insults at me when she'd see me on the strip, but it was a learning opportunity for me. When I had chosen her, I was only looking at the body and paid no attention to her body language and attitude. If I had been more attentive, I would've known she wasn't the type of girl to bring back. It was a situation that could've been avoided and my mistake for ignoring the signs. But I learned from it. I just arrived back in the states after spending a week in Sosua and it was a very interesting experience. For starters, I'm a 23 year old guy who is basically invisible to women in the states. Thankfully I make good money for my age so I'm able to easily afford to travel out the states. My experience here was interesting. I got more attention from women in Sosua in one week than in my entire life in the states. My tinder was absolutely on fire though. Here's the problem though. I met up with 3 girls on my trip and the experiences didn't go as well I hoped. The first girl's name was Ana (apparently she's very popular and has been on guys youtube channels before who are in Sosua).

Casa Valeria is probably the classiest in that the kind of guests it attracts. Not exactly cheap but not very pricey either. It is run by the Dutch and for a long time, and has its own restaurant with good quality food. It is smack in the middle of action and literally you can whistle your catch in.

There are guests there at times, playing what passes for music to some. The owner has another property the opposite side and it might be better noise-wise but no personal experience. The Sosua Inn, next to Bailees, draws, for me, the wrong kind of crowd and so that is out for me. My recommendation of Casa Valeria still stands as I always found it quiet and if you stayed around the pool, even better, despite the fact, it is practically smack in the middle of town. The rooms are also very decently appointed, more so, after renovation and are pricier than other properties. The other places I have stayed at are not as close, walking wise. The norm is, the further away you are from the main street the quieter it gets, but for those cretins who want their music to be heard by the whole world when they drive.
Clearly, these days there are AirBnBs that are not anywhere close to the main street but would be quieter if one is so averse to noise.

I was in heavy into Sosua from 2013-2015 thought it was great then I went away for year came back in 2016 thought it was trash. I promised myself I'd never comeback however covid happened and I retired didn't want to live in America everything was closed Mexico was the only other country open. At this time youtubers were showing up making Sosua seem like the go to spot. So newbies started showing up.
So to me the only people who enjoy Sosua are newbies who don't know any better or vets who have a lot of friends in town have regular chicks they deal with so they are not hunting on the streets so the fact that the prices are up and quality is down don't really bother them.

To me, the bar scene attracts the worst of the worst. At least using an app, your reach is significantly expanded outside of the bar area and you get a much larger variety of chicas.

I completely agree with you. As you, I have read numerous reports speaking to nothing but negativity for the Su and everything about it. Sosua has every thing you need you just need to learn the flow. The week days are not great. There are plenty of girls but they are more hard core. The weekends girls come from all over the Island and post up. These girls tend to be safer and more professional. They post up in Rumbas, Baillies and Playa chicita casino (100's) on the weekends. Your biggest problem is picking just one. I have experienced Sosua in its hay day. Never the less I still have a great time every time I go. I posted an AirBnb recommendation a few weeks ago, I have stayed at Condos Dominicanos and Garden Condos. The Garden Condos were nicer, but when I was there a year ago, Dominicanos looked like it was being renovated. However, someone posted that guest were now not allowed. Not the case at the Garden Condos, which was a very nice complex. But I would check with the host as these are individually owened. Of course, you can look at photos on the listing to get an idea of the fridge, and other amenities.
I booked an room at Villa Antallioa back in May 2023, for some odd reason they didn't give me a key to get into the estate and after reading 50 pages back I can see why. Because of the mass drama dealing with the chicas! The guy who owned the Villa some German man told me how to get to Sosua beach and it was on a week day I got there. I made it to Pedro Clisante via motochonco and my first encounter was with a young Haitian lady. I read off this site never pay over 2 mil pesos and I'll address this after I finish this post. I offered her 2 mil pesos she told me give her 500 more and the deal is set. I then told her I'll tip her if the service was good. I left with her and she took me to the German bar which operated as a brothel also and I think I was the only person using the rooms LOL! They had the prices set in stone 700 1 HR and 1000 1 hour with 2 girls! And it gets worse from there. Regardless this was my best option I paid the room fee for 2 hours and the cashier wasn't aware I am fluent in Spanish she cracked a joke stating that his ugly ass will be finished in 2 minutes! I spared that ***** and went up to the room extremely cheap bar of soap used it to shower and I tore that young Haitian ass up. 25 minutes later I left the room and paid the chick 3000 pesos got another Haitian lady and brought her there an all of a sudden they excepted me to pay for the room again and security gets involved some fat lazy Zamboanga guy. Who told me to either leave or the police will be called I left and I figured that place was a ripoff. The Haitian woman took me to an abando 9 blocks away and we got it on in there I paid her 3500 pesos and left I mainly over paid her because she right along with the other Haitian provided me with an ridiculous amount of information about Sosua and the girls mentality.
As the night began to fall I called it a day ate at Rumbas and I went back to my Villa. And that's when I realized none of my keys worked on the front gate and it was not a guess friendly Villa mainly because of the chica drama that plagues Sosua. As daylight broke I left and went back to Santo Domingo by via autobus.

Secondly I wouldn't recommend looking for love with a prostitute in the Latino world unless you have years of experience dealing with them in America! And from where I hear you're invisible in America then you're invisible in the DR also. If you want a true GFE experience with a prostitute I strongly recommend you go to Asia in particular Thailand, Philippines or Cambodia. All the countries I've been to Thailand offers the best service and you get the most respect out of the women and I rarely ever had a disagreement with a Thai bar girl or Thai massage girl over money! I just arrived back in the states after spending a week in Sosua and it was a very interesting experience. For starters, I'm a 23 year old guy who is basically invisible to women in the states. Thankfully I make good money for my age so I'm able to easily afford to travel out the states. My experience here was interesting. I got more attention from women in Sosua in one week than in my entire life in the states. My tinder was absolutely on fire though. Here's the problem though. I met up with 3 girls on my trip and the experiences didn't go as well I hoped. The first girl's name was Ana (apparently she's very popular and has been on guys youtube channels before who are in Sosua).
The experience with her was very transactional and she tried to rush me. Wouldn't recommend. 2nd girl I met up with was a girl off tinder. This girl turned out to be a single mom who basically only saw me as an ATM machine. After I paid for her for our meetup she has been messaging me non stop on whatsapp asking me for money for x, why, z. And let me say this the Dominican women will ask for a tip and motochonco fare. While the Haitian women would only ask for taxi fare unless you take her somewhere far out like to an Airbnb. From the conversations with the women if a dude offer them a low price and they stay somewhere far that's literally grounds for set up with an confrontation with a mafia chica. Those women actually make the other girls come off as real be**ches but they want to teach you a lesson. Unfortunately I never had a one encounter with a mafia chica sexually but I set down and had a beer with some. Most women try to charge a moderate to high price due to the high cost of living in Sosua, they have to pay for housing, they have to pay for childcare and they have to pay for someone to watch their stored clothes near the strip. All this eats at their disposable income. A lot of these women have pimps and that's something I do want to point out and they are under an tremendous amount of stress and pressure to bring home enough money to. Me personally if she looks attractive and she's asking for 4000 pesos plus a tip I'll do it. I never go over 5000 pesos and to be honest I witnessed some girls charge some guys 11000 pesos but offered me 5000 plus a sample. I guess your mileage may vary within this country. But as of lately none of the girls will take 2000 pesos from me in Sosua.
I want to give a shout to the OG's for posting information on Sosua and the BS that can happen in the room the DR is located in the Caribbean Islands right along with Puerto Rico and Cuba they are normally associated with being Latin America but unfortunately they have fire in their souls like Caribbean women. Which means they can come off as extremely ghetto, ratchet and aggressive. Personally that type of shit does not scare me at all. I've been to Sosua a total of 6 times since 2023. Overall my experience with the women have been rather pleasant. And that's including dealing with the ratchet women. It appears the types of services I be searching for is not offered by Haitians. I beat down around 40 different women in the DR and hears the breakdown. I haven't had anal sex in over 12 years! And it seems like that service is literally rare world wide! I couldn't get that in Africa, Europe, Asia, US and when asked by Dominican women I was told they no longer do that and becareful because some women will say yes only for you to pay for expensive pussy sex. The Haitians will flat out tell you no! And give me a stark warning for asking for that service. Ok, bare sex is easily attainable in Sosua but it's mainly by Dominican women and the highest price I got for it was 5000 pesos and these girls are not on drugs. The Haitians will cuss you out if you ask for it and they won't budge on it period! Just returned from a 5-day jaunt and had a great time. Stayed at the New Garden Inn and strongly advise it for short stays. Dickson is the nighttime security guard and an overall super nice guy. If you need help, look him up as he knows the area quite well and the chickas.

WiFi. Wifi at the hotel is not an issue at all. The problem is that you have to select the correct hotspot based on your building location. To exacerbate matters, they don't give you the WiFi code. Building / Room: The hotel has three buildings, ask for the back building as it's more modern and quieter and yes each it has its own pool, which is super nice. I was in Room 188.
Restaurant. While I don't come to the Su for specialty cuisine. The hotel restaurant was pretty good, especially considering the price. I took the free breakfast (0800) and then ate a late lunch around 4 p which was all I needed. Out of a 5-day jaunt, I think I ate two dinners overall.
Room. The room was fine for my needs, with lots of hot water and the bed was just fine for all uses.
Amenities. While the hotel itself is a 2/3 star property overall, the location, security, pool, and free breakfast certainly kick it up a notch.

On several occasions at night when changing money this guy repeated try to short me. So be on the lookout and count your money he exchanges your usa dollars. I even saw a Dominican guy go in with an American, he exchange the dollars and I overheard the American say this is 500 short repeatedly. When you are suppose to get 5700. He will give you 4500. Then when you give him the money back, he gives you 5200. So make sure you double check and check him on that shit. Funny thing though, hes going to try same shit every day. Place, don't know the street name but when you walk from Baileys straight towards Pedro he is on the right hand side next to a barber shop. There rates are reasonable and never had this problem of being paid short. Never exchange on streets.
I have always found his rates and Bank rates to be different by 0.10 pesos.
A lot of them feel like they got to work harder for less money, some of them get mistreated by client and sometimes dudes don't want to pay them money. Hey just a quick update on my situation. I'm actually heading back to Sosua this month to give it a 2nd try. If it doesn't feel better this time around then I will officially call it a wrap and consider other places like Asia. My biggest problems with Asia are 1. The women aren't thick. Theyre just way too slim for my liking and 2. The flights are incredibly long. For those two reasons I would really rather deal with latinas instead and no I actually wasn't invisible in the DR at all. Like I said, I got plenty of attention from women in person and on Tinder. The biggest thing I've realized though is I need to somehow find a sugar baby relationship I can have with a girl rather than seeing escorts.
