This report is coming exactly in the middle of my first visit to DR ,I'm here 3 weeks and staying in the El Neptuno.
First the weather has been great, the condo nice and the food great.
The women? Honestly after Brazil and Colombia and Thailand , I must admit I am very laid back about beauty. Some people in DR I can understand 80% of the Spanish they speak, other people when they speak Spanish I understand 2%. After a bunch of beers, my Spanish always gets worse. Piergiorgio Hotel is nice at night for a beer, just down the block from El Neptuno, they have lights that shine into the water, you can see the needle fish.

Also, remember that some DR chicas have much more European blood that the sisters in the U.S. Check out some of the university chicas in Costambar, for example. I never had play in the U.S. like in the DR.

I would have said that there are far less fatties among the Dominicanas, compared to African-American women, and that they have a much better sense of style when it comes to hair and clothing, especially considering that they are usually on a very tight budget. They also have terrific smiles.
I am not so sure about the extra European blood, though. African American women also run the full range from light to dark and nearly all have some European genes.
On the other hand, Dominicanas don't exercise much, so are best taken when young, though the same applies to poor African American women.

You have probably been to Dr more times and I'm just basing my views on my first visit.
I'm just spolied with my trips to the latin american countries and asia countries, it's just a chemistry thing with me and those cultures we hit it off extremely well.
And as for play, well see that's the funny thing about my travels , excluding Brazil and Colombia I have done more in the states with women then in my travels. Sex has never been hard to get , yes , yes I know who wants to have a sex with a ugly woman , but it's just sex.

Saturday was the day I got to walk around and do some day time hunting. After a quick work out at the gym located on the 4th floor overlooking the ocean, I hooked up with B. Let me first say, that if anyone is interested in pumping a little iron while in Sosua, the gym there is very nice. A little price $45 a month but it is comparable to any gym in the states. I can't remember what the name of it is, but it is inside a very nice building with elevators and marble floors. Just read this in www.sosuanews.com today. Alot of money is being invested in a marina, beach renovations, road paving etc. It probaly won't effect classicos, the bars, or the girls. But once the affluent get control of the beach tourists (AI) and the infrastructure whats next. Sosua has always been a very affordable vacation hope it stays that way. Just a heads up fellows.

I can remember driving that road 5 years ago at night, for the first, I hit some potholes while traveling at 50 mph (Surprised me the tires never blew out).
Supposedly the guy who owns Sosua Bay Hotel owns the property in front of Sosua Beach and there was something in the news years ago about him wanting to get rid of the beach front businesses. Supposedly, he was threatened that if he evicted those businesses, then whatever he built in their place would be burned down.

So far I know Jenny's Market is the place to change your money over.Like Mr Gogo stated, Sosua is the bar-town, with streetlife (in the good and bad senses) lots of places to drink, a tourist town with wall to wall hookers.
Costambar is quieter, mostly Europeans with apartments. The beach is very quiet and you can often have the whole beach to yourself.
Sosua beach in contrast, is busy, with rows of stands selling food, drink, etc.
At night there is nothing in Costambar.
A small pizzeria/karaoke bar in the village and BB.
At BB, all the girls are on-site at the hotel, just make contact and go to your room. Trouble-makers are barred from the premises. The girls get monthly medical checks (I observed one bringing her card to the then-mamsan, Charo). Some call it being "spoon-fed". OK with me, I have no time and patience when on a short stay. I'd rather eat fish several times a day than go fishing all day.

Actually I think there is more than one because I remember we went to one place and it was closed. A quick trip, and girls available everywhere are the advantages here, but be prepared to pay the local merchants outrageous prices for everything else. You can move inland for better prices, but lose the conviences and selection.

I am flying into Santa D and was going Boca C but someone told me it is skanky and not the prime stuff. What are my options at 4pm getting from SD to Sousa by bus. Who, When where how much? One of the bad things about Sosua, is walking on the sidewalk and having a loud, dark smoke spewing motoconcho drive by. Colombia is not a rich country and Colombia places second as an environmentally green country in the Americas (behind costa rica).
The Dominicans are killing themselves by allowing the pollution from these vehicles. In Santo Domingo on some roads the air pollution is terrible and I am sure that contributes to many people having the gripe often.
And a Country with no oil or gas reserves, but gets lots of sunlight, I don't understand why the Dominicans don't invest more in Solar power.
All inclusives hotels are still a good deal in the Dominican Republic. I can get a package deal to casa marina for 5nts for 475 dollars. The airfare is about $350, so from this deal I would be paying about 125 dollars for 5 nights at a hotel that includes food and drink (50 dollars a night for a room, all you can eat food and drink, is a good price).
I'll be touching down in Santo Domingo or Santiago soon. I won't be visiting Sosua, (I have been to Sosua about ten times). I'll be in Juan Dolio, Santiago, one night in Puerto Plata and then back to Santiago and Santo Domingo. If you get to SDQ at 4pm, you are going to have to go to the bus station in SDQ (Caribe Tours or Metro). The price from sd-sosua is 290 pesos (about 9usd). The last bus leaves at 6 or 7pm. Its a 4 hour ride to Sosua, very sceenic. If you rent a car it can be challenging for a first timer. If you want light skinned chics don't do boca, sosua has more variety. The price scale varys, as you can see by the debate now going on in this forum. You probaly have to fly out of SD so maybe you can do both Sosua and Boca. You be your own judge. Boca can be boring, especially after Sosua.

So I could cut my per session cost down by $20 bucks if the puta's were cheaper. It still comes out to $100 per pop. Not a big difference in the big picture. And the dumb part is if you do more than 3 sessions a day, your avg. Per session goes down.
Listen, I am not advocating giving the chica's outrageous money. I come down here for P4P. I got my eyes wide open, and I know I am nothing more than a meal ticket to them while I am here. I like saving money just like everyone else, especially in these economic times. But then I look at the numbers above and I still know I am getting value.
Most everywhere you go in the world sex workers make more than the average joe. They put up with risks of disease and violence and more. They also have a short "shelf life" of maybe 10 or so years to ply their trade. Just because these girls are getting outrageous hourly rates, talk to them about how many clients they actually have in a week. You would be surprised.
I have been to their houses (or should I call them shacks). They do not live in the lap of luxury. Much of their money goes to keeping up their appearance so they can attract customers. Many times they are the sole breadwinner of 5 or more family members.
My take is, if you think you can do better somewhere else, go there. This is what it is. I am sure there are spots in Africa or the far east that you can do better in. I factor in a lot of things above and beyond the above equation. Proximity to me, the amount of time I have total for an adult vacation, and the service I get when I get there.
I like the DR. If you need to cut expenses and do better than what I outlined, simply do some research and go somewhere else.

Two very good coach services from SD to Sosua, I used Metro on Saturday, the other is Caribe tours. Its very easy & comfortable and the ticket was 320pesos, caribe tours is cheaper. The Metro stop is a few minutes walk to the lively part of Sosua with the popular hotels. I'm staying in New Garden Hotel.
You and me have the same taste in chicas buddy, but from my observation so far there are many more Haitians then lighter skin chicas here, but you do get gals coming down from Santiago where there are supposedly more lighter skinned chicas. I will make a visit to Santiago soon. When are you planning on taking a grip to Sosua?

From the Malecon you would take any large street that goes north like Maximo Gomez and then make a left on Kennedy which will turn into Autopista Duarte and just go straight, this road will turn into the highway that will take you to Santiago. From Santiago just follow the signs for Puerto Plata or ask people for the direction of Puerto Plata, it is fairly easy. Once you get into Puerto Plata just stay on the newly paved main road. At the end of this road is a roundabout, just go towards the right, you will see the Brugal factory on your left and just go straight on this road for about 35-40 minutes and you will be in Sosua. Sosua has two parts. The first part of Sosua that you will encounter is Charamicos. This where many locals live, you will go past Charamicos and see a large green section with trees and plants on your left, that is where playa sosua is located. You will come to a traffic light and after the traffic light you will see a playero supermarket on the right and then at the next traffic light you will see a texaco gas station, make a left at the Texaco gas station and the next street is I believe called Pedro Clisante, you are now in the heart of the mongering scene in Sosua. If you drive straight through the next intersection, Rockys will be on your right and further up on this same road is New Garden hotel on the right.
Hotel Palacio in Santo Domingo has an indoor parking garage. Maison Gatreux in Santo Domingo always has a guard who sits on the patio in front of the hotel. I never had a problem with anyone messing with my rental car while it was parked in the street in Santo Domingo. I never had a problem with my car while it was parked in the streets of Sosua.
If you decide to take a bus to the North Coast, you can use Caribe Tours or Metro. The last bus on Metro going to Santiago is 7 or 8pm. Not sure when the last bus leaves for Sosua. Caribe Tours has their schedule posted on the internet.
Sosua has a mix of light skinned and dark skinned chicas. Usually more light skinned chicas can be found in Santiago, but the mongering scene in Santiago is not the easiest.
Prices for chicas varies.

If your spanish is good and you can convince some chicas that you are a long term catch, that will affect the price that you can negotiate. Having a phone is almost essential for setting up daytime action.

I have been reading the posts today and I agree they are entitled to make some money after all it is a Democracy. How many of these workers speaky the English. I can order food and pay for it but outside a restuarant I couldn't get to much going without gesturing. I have had some road blocks in Nica and Costa R but always got what I wanted with very little problem. If I am patient and look around will I find a young tight thin package that speaks some English and is willing to do everything. Someone told me most DR girls don't like Greek or if they agree they scream and say it hurts is this true. What about hearing that alot of them do it for drug money? How is the legal issue in the DR with Druggas like weed and C. In Central American you are fine if you stay in your hotel. I would assume the girls could make these things available or do you need to find your own? A relaxing Dube is always a nice tension breaker.

he got me a free sim card , rented and car and took me around for 2 days for about 2000 peso's with me buying the food, introduced me to local women in the villages. spent the day with a family visiting there relatives,. Very social people who invited me into their homes offered me food and asked for nothing.
Francis on the other hand tried to milk me and I had to fire him , but before I let him go , reminded him , he could had made in 6 or 7 days more money then he could make in a week , but he got greedy. of course he won't learn .
The women I saw and met , yes some were beautiful , but what is up with the belly pouch, even the skinny ones got them .Classico or Passions wasn't my thing, great comedy hour though.
After 3 weeks my conclusion is that DR women aren't my thing , I got away from the bars , saw the country , loved the beaches but the women??
I rate them far behind Brazil and Colombia and Thailand for sheer beauty and presense, but ahead of Jamicaii and Tahatii, I',m not basing this on sexual performance , but my likes and chemistry with the woman .As I stated before in my post their just too close in looks and behavior to black women for my taste .Besides in my 3 weeks I only went with 4 women .
It was a cheap trip compared to Brazil and Colombia , but I picked Dr becasue it was a short trip compared to Thailand and wanted to try a new country.
But will go back to Colombia for my short trips next time.
Spanish lessons worked wonders, glad that I took them, spent days in my apartment with a 20 year old who spoke zero english, nice country girl who I spent time with her family , so almost everyday she would spend the day hanging out with me in the apartment , told me she was a virgin , I didn't want to find out if it was true or not , but good company who wasn't a service girl looking for money.
So it was a very relaxing and good trip for me. Will I be back ?
Probably not , I'm looking for a country I can do 6 months in when I retire and Dr doesn't quite fit the bill.
But no regrets in coming . Stayed at the El Neptuno , great place , quiet and close to markets and ATM's great choice for the first time person who wants to go the action but doesn't want it around them all the time ,

NOWRATHIn hindsight, to expand your choice of chicas, especially since you were in Dom Rep for an extended trip, you could have tried to meet some other Dominican chicas online. You could have joined the international version of Match.com or Dominican cupid. Especially when a guy is in the Dominican Republic for an extended trip, it can be very easy to hook up with chicas that you meet online.
I have a met of bunch of chicas from Colombia using the international version of Match.com (as well as dominican chicas). No doubt that there are some fine chicas in Colombia.
So far in my recent life I have been hooked on the Dominican chicas. Usually the sex is very good. There is mix of different types, white dominicanas, morenas, triguenas, dark skinned. The good ones are not ball breakers and don't pester me for money. I am generous with the ones I like, but nothing crazy.
You have to go with what you like. Each guy is different and has his own personal preferences. My father kids me about liking third world chicas. My father prefers blondes with blue eyes. I personally prefer chicas with a little bit of spice in their blood.

NOWRATHI can understand where you're coming from. I had big expectations for Sosua, but they've not been met. My last night in Santo domingo I went to La Parada, took a nice looking girl home with me (the only pretty one there); once in my place, heard nothing but complaints and requests for more money before doing anything. I had already paid the 3K upfront to La Parada and she wanted another 1K to do things she said she would. I got pretty pissed off and sent her packing with no more cash.
Sorry, back to Sosua. I popped in to La Passions today, hoping to meet Keyla who was on their website. Unfortunately she's left. All those remaining had big bellies, pretty disappointing line up. Spoke to 1 who was big but she had a cute face. Caught sight of her hands and she had some pretty disgusting scabs on them, I asked what they were, she said she burnt herself cooking, hmmmmm right!
Saw a fairly cute chica in the street today, stopped her and discussed business, she said shes wants 2k for 2 hours. I said, what about for 1 hour, she still wanted 2k. Looked at her close up and her skin wasn't so good close up, she had some zits. From her general mannerisms, and lack of enthusiasm I made a judgement that she probably would not be the best choice. Decided to pass. There are many on the main red light area, many are fat around the waste. Some of these Haiti girls are like leeches.
Just overheard a conversation from some mongers next door about a girl who was trying to hide the fact she has herpes and wanted to keep the lights switched off. Needless to say, in a place like this you don't take any risks.
I stay at the New Garden hotel, walls are thin I can hear the conversation of people outside by the pool and next door like its in my own room. Also since I've come, and in the last few days I have to say I have not seen even 1 good looking chica hanging around here. If I stay in Sosua longer, I'll probably move to a cheaper hotel or studio. Theres nothing wrong with the hotel, its just a little expensive for the time of year. For roughly same price you can rent a 1 bed apartment inside a really nice condominium which is visitor friendly, or a studio for less. The good thing is that after a few days if you havnt taken any of the chicas here at NGH they stop trying to call you over everytime they see you. I kind of like to come home to a bit of privacy, and realise now that I'd prefer not to have these girls hanging around outside my door, although it seemed like a good idea before.
Maybe its the season, or maybe its on a downward slope. Perhaps Chicas are getting greedy and have been spoilt too much by the extranjeros.
Anyway, mongering in DR may not be up to some peoples expectations, especially if you're used to stunners/gfe's like in Thailand, there's no comparison. I'd say in terms of quality and reliability its behind Thailand, Malaysia, Germany, S Africa and Dubai.
However I have no regrets coming since I've picked up a lot of Spanish which was my aim, and met a lot of interesting people. As a non-mongering off the beaten track holiday location, its an interesting experience and worth a visit, however you do always need to keep your wits about you, for your own safety and security. I will be doing more tourist stuff now and will go on some excursions, I've also found a local guide who seems pretty reliable so we will hit the nightlife of Santiago and PP too. I'll report back on these locations later.

I did a search recently on alamo.com, for 7 nights picking the car up in sdq airport and entered the id number and coupon code from the above link. If you do a search on google you can find various discount codes for most of the larger rental companies. Many codes will not work in Latin America, so look for ones that state that they will work in latin america.
I have rented at least 6 times from alamo and really have not had a problem. I have become friends with one chica who works at alamo and i usually get a free upgrade, I usually give her some small gift.
Make your reservations online and print out a copy of the reservation. For whatever reason people at car rental companies try to be cute sometimes and charge you more when you return the car. If you have the printed out reservation which has the price clearly stated, you can use it to correct any people who may try to overcharge you. I had that problem with Avis twice in Dom Rep and I never rented from them again. The only insurance I pay the rental car company is the for third party liability coverage and glass and tire coverage (one time my wingman used the car and some nutty chica threw a presidente bottle at the window, it didn't break, but since then, for 3 dollars a day I am covered. I blew out a tire on a Avis van I rented and they wanted to charge me over 200 dollars for a new tire.) In hindsight, to expand your choice of chicas, especially since you were in Dom Rep for an extended trip, you could have tried to meet some other Dominican chicas online. You could have joined the international version of Match.com or Dominican cupid. Especially when a guy is in the Dominican Republic for an extended trip, it can be very easy to hook up with chicas that you meet online.

There are tons of haitians in Sosua because the Europeans fancy them, especially the huge German & French Canadian expat community.
If you want a nice looking chica in Sosua, you either have to wait till the night and check out Classicos or Latinos, because I personally know a bunch of very nice looking chicas that only go to the discos at night. You will never see them trolling the streets in the daytime looking for a "Happy Hour". These girls usually sleep all afternoon in those 300pesos a day rooms above stores on pedro clisante and go clothes shopping in Puerto Plata during the day and at night they get ready for the Disco. Sometimes on Saturday or Sunday afternoon you will see them drinking at El Flow with their friends relaxing. These chicas are not fat (No Chichos), No kids and are under 22 years old.
Or, you can wait till Friday when the chicas from Santiago & SD arrive on the Gua Guas, Metro or Caribe Tours for the weekend. But on Monday, they are gone. Secondly, If a monger does his homework thoroughly as he should then his expectations should be met most times. Great beaches , cheap prices, colorful scenery I was satisfied with my new experience.
As for the women they were pretty much what I thought they would be , some lookers , yeah I saw the slim ones with big boobs , but I drive a city bus , I see that all day .

No, I've mongered in 5 countries, though mostly in the DR. I have been to a number of places in the DR other than Sosua, some of them way off the monger track like Palenque, San Pedro, and Samana.
Yes, of course models and actresses have all kinds of personality attributes that make them more desirable to be around than many of the girls you meet in Sosua, but just in terms of finding perfect physical specimens who make good sex partners, you can find plenty in Sosua and area if you look hard. Oh yeah, Frannie is full of it. I don't reply to his posts anymore. Generally, most of Frannie's posts are rants and critiques on other people's posts and opinions with no value added. I lived in New York City for 40 years. I dated a good number of Dominicanas in Nueva Yol, some who had normal jobs and others who I met in strip clubs. I haven't mongered in New York City in many years. The last place I was in was a bar in Greenwich Village. Yes, your limited Spanish WILL be an issue in places other than Puerto Plata. Therefore:
Go to the Puerto Plata section, scroll back until you find post for December 2007, read until you make it back to May 2009.
By then you should have all the info you will ever need about any and everything.

Where are the girls? Where does one begin?.......
1. Read through the places as advised to learn a bit first.
2. Ask specific questions.
For a first-timer, with little Spanish, I think a majority would advise
you to check out BlackBeard's in Costambar, just west of Puerto Plata.
You don't have to leave the hotel area fo look for girls.
(THEY will come to YOU).
The atmosphere is a controlled one, so you don't have to worry about thieves, pickpockets, rip-offs, etc., and there is someone to handle any complaints. Bar, restaurant, pool, jacuzzi, girls, all on-site.
Very nice beach and a few other restaurants, a supermarket to change money and a pharmacy for "pharmaceutical insurance", all within 5 minutes walk. Some call it "spoon-feeding" but for a first-timer, its ideal.
In Sosua, or other places, you are on your own, brother.
You can probably pick up a wing man at BB, share a cab with a few guys and take a day trip to Sosua to check it out.
Once you feel more comfortable, you can look/book elsewhere on your next trip.

I agree with this and the rest of Yanqui69's post but would also suggest as an alternative the revamped Field of Dreams on the eastern edge of Puerto Plata. Slightly cheaper and better placed to get into Puerto Plata and Sosúa by very cheap public transport for which you won't need Spanish.
Both are good options.

Santo Domingo probably has the highest concentration of what you are looking for.

Dominican guys do pay for it though- even net. Other than the Chulos and barrio guys who don't have much spare cash, middle class dominican guys pay for it all the time - though not much in the tourist towns, why should they pay more? Not counting secretaries, favoritas and novias - they pay up to about 500. They even pay salida. Most small pueblos have discos tipico that have lots of chicas who are techically waitresses on very low wages but who are there to dance and hang out with customers and more rarely go out with them (salida is the fee paid to compensate the bar for the loss of the employee for the rest of her shift).
P4P is an integral part of the culture, not just a tourista thing.

You will see an open space for parked cars to your right and further to the right a Texaco gas station. In front of the open area for parked cars, there is a pharmacy, inside the pharmacy is where you buy the tickets for Metro Bus.
Caribe Tours bus station is in Charamicos section of Sosua on the other side of Sosua Beach.
Rocky's and hotel orchidee, have inexpensive rooms, prices last time I checked were about $25 per night, these prices may have gone up, hotel orchidee (I believe it is german owned) has a webpage and you can call Marco who owns Rockys (he is Canadian and speaks English) to inquire about prices and availability. Both of these places are very close to the action (about one block from classicos) and are adequate to use for sex, since you will be staying in an AI, you can leave your valuables in the AI hotel. Hotel Calypso is a cheapy short term hotel, about 3-4 blocks from classicos. I used Hotel Calypso one time about 5 years ago, no toilet paper, no towels, condom wrappers on the floor. Other members have used it more recently and said it was clean.

In La vega some venders will board the bus to sell you food and things. The buses are frickin cold! I had this bueatiful chica going to santiago next to me. Also there are a growing number of Russians who are big spenders and v rich, they're partly resposible for changing Londons puta market price by driving prices right up and having establishments predominantly Russian which attract the best girls, because of the ridiculous amount of money they pay them, and lavish them with champagne all night. Thats what they do in Moscow too, that's why its f'ing expensive there, shame because Russian girls (in Russia) are amongst the best looking in the world.
The darker skinned more traditionally african looking Haitian girls (the majority of girls in Sosua are dark skinned) accept less, but they will steal anything they can from you so beware. Many guys have been robbed. And don't give them your phone numbers unless you want them to call you 50 times a day and hangup each time because ofcourse they don't want to pay for the call. Never ever pay them a peso before you've got what you agreed, because DR chicas will make an excuse and leave quickly if you do. I was ripped off in Santo Domingo by a girl called Giselle from La Parada where you pay beforehand 3k to the establishment. She was from Santiago fair skinned, quite tall, wears a lot of makeup, speaks good english, the best looking one there, then when I got to the hotel she had a menu price list for just about everything, I ended up kicking her out of my hotel, learnt my lesson. I've had a few girls insist on getting paid beforehand after you or she have started undressing in Sosua. I simply say no, I never pay before hand, 'tienes prisa? ' (are you in a hurry is that why you want to pay before hand, 'Me no gusta Rapido', I don't like to be rushed). If they insist further I'll even get up and get dressed repeating the words above and pretending I don't understand any other spanish. Eventually they will agree to be paid after, and will therefore make more of an effort too, because they understand how stubborn you are. You could ofcourse tell them before taking them back that you only pay after. Remeber, you can always walk away from chicas here, don't act desperate, there are plenty more fish in the sea, and even the same chicas you will see again in the same establishments the next day. Don't believe them if they say they're only here for 1 day. Infact best policy is to not believe anything they say at all, because they're all actresses.
Other tips, there are some other scams to be aware of, if you go for a girl who looks youngish check closely her I'd photo and birth certificate copy, because they can work incognito with the police to trap you, legal age of consent for foreigners is 18 (in the UK its 16), and you can even be trapped for molesting a girl if you put your arm around / touch up a girl under 18. She was the first chica I ever spoke to in Sosúa. I was taken into town from Field of Dreams by a bullshitter (nice guy, but a total bullshitter) who told me she was in love with him and would go with him for nothing when her shift ended. I was a newbie and believed him! Events later that evening proved him wrong. Cool elegant lady who has greeted me politely every time I am in town ever since. Never had her myself but I have seen her go with with a few guys.
You want more lighter skin chicas who have that novela type look go to CR, Panama, Colombia, or Brasil thats what I do. It is very rare you will find that type of look in DR selling that ass unlike these other countrys I mentioned where most of the chicas/garotas in these countrys have that type of look I look when I monger. I don't believe the racist spin about Haitians which is current among Dominicans and which visiting gringos swallow wholesale. In the block of condos where I live most of the guys prefer Haitians as being somewhat more honest, whether it is chicas for sex or guys for working around the place. These are gringos with decades of experience of living there, not weekend warriors who speak neither Spanish nor Kreyol. I am not suggesting there is much difference, of course. You need to keep alert with both nationalities and also with ex-pat gringos.
Remember that every crime or act of dishonesty where the offender is not caught red-handed is always blamed on Haitians and the police will indiscrimately round up and sometimes punish innocent Haitians for them. It saves them the trouble of doing any real police work and avoids offending the real criminals and their families which could start a vendetta.
The majority of dark-skinned girls in Sosúa are Dominican, not Haitian, and there are also some lighter-skinned Haitians who everybody wrongly assumes are Dominican.

Question was would you recommend more Hotel Don Antonio or Don Andres? I have read that the owner of Don Andres could sometime be a J_ _k to use a mild term. Thanks to those who will take time to answer me.

Sosua is one of a kind. I spend many a trips looking for its equal all over central and South America. Not found it yet, but I will die trying!!
If you just want quality, head for San Jose. No GFE, a little more pricey but cheap flights and cheap hotels make up for the higher priced girls. besides, you have a wife for GFE. Head on over to the Costa Rica board and start reading!! If you like the wash, rinse and repeat lifestyle, heard to Campo Allegre on the Island of Curacao. Now don't you Curacao lovers attack me, I happen to hate feeling like I am at the tag office with four guys waiting for their number to be called!!! But reading all your posts now, I'm wondering if I better shouldn't do it. What's with the girls? I don't want to see that 50% who are now there, I've seen already in January. Hmm, then again. Is Sasha still at La Passion? I loved her so much. : D
The last time I stayed at the New Garden. It was okay, but I didn't like the fact that the safe deposit box had to be used with a key. (I prefer a code just like in Hotel Europa). But I also hated the breakfast and the crew wasn't very nice (not the German boss and the people who stayed there).
What's with the Seabreeze, do they have a refrigerator and a good safe (can't find information about this on their homepage)?
Overall the latest posts really make me don't want to book all this. It would be fucking expensive anyway (coming from Europe).

If you want to lock up your laptop you may want to lock it in your luggage.

Sure its the same girls but maybe check out POP or SDQ. Diego at Europa has just fired Sally and her son for no reason, he is a hard guy to get along with. Wilfried at New Garden is cool but stay at the new wing. Jihad at seabreeze is still sneakey as shit. Europa restaurant is closed. Seabreeze has the keyed safe. Overall Sosua is not that exciting if youve been more than three times. Learn your spanish and venture out.

ByeBarcelo has an all inclusive in Playa Dorada complex, Puerto Plata. Sosua is about 35 minutes from there, by car. Some action can be found in Puerto Plata city, which is about ten minutes away from Playa Dorada complex. (i.e. crystals bar and other bars that have been previously mentioned near the port). Sometimes chicas hang out in the bars in Playa Dorada complex, coco boingo, roadhouse and I believe mangu disco has reopened. You can rent a small car, for about 200 dollars for 7 days. Driving is fairly easy there. In Sosua it is easy to find chicas.

ByeCheck your info, but I think that you are talking about the Perla de Sosua, who is part of the Barcelo Hotels. If so you would be in town of Sosua, there is no need to go to Field of Dreams. as you will be downtown Sosua. Just scoll back to around November 2008 and read the post, you will have all the information that you need. This Hotel is not known to be Chica friendly but as said by reading the post you will have a map of city including Hotels you can rent for couple of hours for about $20.00 US. You may also want to go spend couple of day at Black Beard in Costembar. Taxi will cost you about $45.00 each way, plus the extra Hotel expenses. There is also a lot of Haitian Girls in Sosua, who like to speak French. I can forward you a contact that will be pleased to introduce you to members of his community-:) Just P.M. me.

ByeIf you mean Barcelo Puerto Plata Hotel (all inclusive hotel) then Field of Dreams is close by. From the Barcelo Puerto Plata Hotel, you could walk to Field of Dreams. From what has been previously posted, Field of Dreams is on the other side of the small highway, from Playa Dorada complex.
For a wider selection of girls, you would have to travel to Sosua.

Galatica - Galacticos is closed
Valcion - El Vacilón is closed
the carwash - Ojilvy's is still open
la barriga - La Barrica is still open
the Ferris wheel - The Ferry is still open
Club Mangu is closed
Having said which, some of them may have re-opened under the same or different names since I was there in March. As you say, things can change fast.
If you are taking a group of guys for mongering, surely Field of Dreams would be a better choice than Portofino Hotel for about the same charge? Unless you will be visited by your family and need to look more respectable?
Two other posters have just claimed that Field of Dreams is isolated, but with a group to share taxi fares that should be no deterrent.
The curfew is still in place and has proved a success so is unlikely to be lifted except on special occasions.
TLN prices in Sosúa are usually 1500 to 2000 though many guys pay more and a few (with advantages - younger, better-looking, fluent Spanish or good dancers) sometimes pay less.
TLN prices in Puerto Plata for regular putas are no cheaper but I find less aggressive haggling and fewer scammers than in Sosúa. Also a greater range of semi-pros who might cost less.

I was last in Sosua in October 2008, there was one bar in Sosua, in el batey, on the same street as the municipal building, that stayed open 24/7, served drinks and food. It was across the street from hotel romanoff, the bar was called caperinha.
Any disco or bar that is attached to a casino is allowed to stay open after the curfew.
Appears Club X bar, across the street from Classicos, stays open until 4am, from what I have read in the posts.
Also the bars in playa dorada have an exemption from the curfew and I can remember reading that they they were going to let bars stay open an hour later in cabarete.
Curfew does suck, the chica bars in santo domingo shut down early.
Members who have been to Sosua more recently can probably give a better report as to closing times of bars in Sosua. When I was last in Sosua, I think Classicos closed around 2am, then many people walked over to "after one" (which was allowed to stay open because it was attached to a casino) ("After One" disco, I have been told is closed and has been replaced as the late night destination, by the bar across the street from classicos, club "x", which is supposedly allowed to stay open after the curfew) and years ago, before "after one" was opened, people would head over to the playa chiquita casino disco (after classicos closed).

Curfew for some bars, not for all. I was last in Sosua in October 2008, there was one bar in Sosua, in el batey, on the same street as the municipal building, that stayed open 24/7, served drinks and food. It was across the street from hotel romanoff, the bar was called caperinha.
Any disco or bar that is attached to a casino is allowed to stay open after the curfew.
Appears Club X bar, across the street from Classicos, stays open until 4am, from what I have read in the posts.
Also the bars in playa dorada have an exemption from the curfew and I can remember reading that they they were going to let bars stay open an hour later in cabarete.

I do agree with you about the Classico cuties getting picked early. I actually found the best chicas hanging around the Merengue bar before Classico's even opened for the night. Yea if you walk past all that and down toward the end of the beach there is a nice spot, no rocks in the sands and nice shallow water. There's a kid named Alex that runs the spot with his family, doesn't harass you for stuff and charges the right prices for food and drinks. I hung out there everyday and around 1 to 3pm you will see some local girls walk by, just call them over. They sit and they chat with you and most of them are non-pros, so you pay less. The times I've been there (4 so far) I noticed that there are way too many unattachated cuties at closing time (at Classico's) that I wished I didn't have a date already. Just be patient my friend, most cuties are not even out by 10 PM!

spent 10 nights in Sosua ( moved to SDQ yesterday) will do a full report when i'm back in the gringo-land.
IMHO, the last Monday night was no different from the Tuesday night. very slow until mid-night, and slow again after 2:30. mostly aging hard-core pros, trannys and junkies - not the types of providers i'm looking for. IMHO, it's much more crowded on friday and saturday nights and selection (IMHO again) has more non-pros. my best classico pick-up was before 10pm on friday night.

spent 10 nights in Sosua ( moved to SDQ yesterday) will do a full report when i'm back in the gringo-land.
IMHO, the last Monday night was no different from the Tuesday night. very slow until mid-night, and slow again after 2:30. mostly aging hard-core pros, trannys and junkies - not the types of providers i'm looking for. IMHO, it's much more crowded on friday and saturday nights and selection (IMHO again) has more non-pros. my best classico pick-up was before 10pm on friday night.
true, whenever i saw a good looking chica that stood out - she was with a european gringo, probably on a long- or intermediate-term retainer. but it was just as true on Monday as on Sunday or Tuesday.
i walked twice from classico in the direction of plaza europa around 10pm - saw lots of chicas walking in the opposite direction (to classico) and made one pick-up before the chica even reached the classico/latinos block.
prices: was propositioned starting prices between $3k+taxi/night to $2k/2hours. paid from $1000+$200taxi for 1hr to $2500+major propina for full night (10pm friday - 11am saturday.) call me stupid pendejo all you want for "inflating" and all i'll tell you is that those were some of the best pesos i've EVER spent. besides, i've got serious indications that this chica only works very infrequently anyway.
because more than half on my stay was in an "AI resort", i started by visiting La Passions a few times. IMHO the chicas on average are better than classico average, but no stunners. $2500/hr is more than average, but i had good sessions every time. showers, fresh towels, full hour, multiple pops, massage (above average but far from excellent.) nice rooms too. to sum la passions up - IMHO chicas are 6-7 (probably 8 in someone's eyes), service is 7-8, maybe even 9 if you hit the right chica.
overall, the sexiest chicas i saw in Sosua were the chicas who stayed in the same AI hotel on a weekend pass. too bad my spanish is probably at a 3-level, and the understanding of fast-spoken dominican chica dialect is at 0.5. plus, all of them seemed to be with kids and husbands. watching them for 2 days in a row kind of made the classico lineup on sunday night especially boring....

first reaction: sosua is pretty quiet. not nearly as busy with tourists as my last trip at the end of 2008
spent more time at the beach and in local bars from cangrejos and montellano to sabeneta than in the disco meat markets on p.clisante. prettier girls. fewer ladronas.
stayed at a condo in el batey near city hall for two weeks. power, security, wifi and no mention of the working girls as long as you are a little discrete. nice setup.
stopped in and bought liquor around the corner from my condo at supersuper and saw a cam pointed out the door and asked. and yes! it's on the web live. could watch from my condo to see what was out on the street a block away.
discovered there are cams at my condo place and also a new one going in across the street from jolly rogers. owner says they're going to point it down toward the discos for night viewing. now from home i can watch and count the hours to my next visit in october.

new bar just around the corner. on the corner of clisante and the street running past the school. were working on it while i was there and opened the last week. red see through drapes. kind of arabian themed. good lookers there.
what's with the drapes? mosquito netting? seacrets has them now too. white. seacretes has new management. they need new new management. 180 pesos for a cuba libre, and fat ugly barmaids. walked in, turned around and walked right back out.
el flow still busy and clogging up the main drive.
weather sucked. rained a lot. streets flooded several times. water running off from garbage and mosquito filled extra lots. you do not want to go wading thigh deep through that. stay home and make a night of it with your chica(s). i did! worked for me!

I have the Sousa withdrawal symptoms, I was having lunch with a buddy of mine, we visited DR together two weeks ago. We see a group of Dominican girls walking by the street in new york and I turn to him and said that looks like a 2000 peso chica.

I knew some guy who went to live there. He stayed at El paraiso. For everyone else it's across the street from New Garden. He said it was ok except for the water or the lack of it. He didn't say about the security. It may be a little less than the others price wise. I saw him there last July. I didn't see him in Feburary, Don't they have a website?
