Hey guys,

What are my options for traveling between Cabarete, Sosua and Puerto Plata? Taxi, Bus? Or is renting a car/Van better? Man, it's real work trying to find Ocean view Chica friendly hotels. At least it's hard for me. Anyone got any help on this? I'd appeciate it, believe me.

KaijuAre you familiar with the terrain? That determine's your options.

Private taxi between Sosua and Cabarette is 15usd but public taxi is about 50pesos.

Please excuse my silliness but is the ocean front hotel for you or the chica? and why?

Uhhh. Just how in the fuck am I supposed to be casual when walking in asking for head?

Don't say anything conspicuous or rude. Just walk in with a raging boner which is the passive internationally recognized sign least prone to being lost in translation. Get a shave while you're at it, but maintain the erection; it should tent the apron they put on you and be impossible to look away from.

Seriously, I have tried yet but I think that all that is needed is a certain kind of eye contact to get your desire across.

KaijuWhen I'm with my regular, for routine travel between these places, shopping, taking the kids out etc. we never take a taxi, but use the local cars and vans that seem to regularly ply the route picking up passengers here and there. I think it's called publico?

It's a great deal, only costs a few pesos, compared to the standard taxi fare of 25 US, but it may get a little crowded sometimes.

Problem is, the locals know when and where to wait for it, but I'd never find it on my own.

Anybody here know the routine?

For aiport trips and an evening out we usually take a taxi.

I gave the NG girls 1200 to 1500 for ST, Margareta 2000 per night, and the La Passion girls 2500 to 3500 with a 500 tip. I enjoyed their services & had no problems with any of them.Great REPORT-THANKS. Everything I needed to know. This will be my second trip and I feel that I will have much more control!

Not clear on how much you paid for La Passion girls. Did you pay LP 2500 for take out and an additional 3000-4000 to the girl? Not sure how much to budget for each girl per nite. Can anyone clairfy?

Thanks!

This is my first trip to the DR, and in the interest of honesty and clarity I am going to try and report episodically as things happen. It is meant to share a newbie's insights for the benefit of those that follow, as well as an opportunity for a bullshit check against from the veterans. Bottom line is while I didn't all out fail or act like as asshole I paid a little bit too much and didn't get the most for my dollar; I will need to make some minor course corrections as I proceed through the week.

As for me, I am in my latter thirties, as gringo as they come, speak passable gringo spanish, and am normal looking. I've never been married either but I am am a sympatico sweetheart to these girls. I've spent most of my mongering while traveling through the middle-east or asia on business but have also been lucky enough to hit both Costa Rica and MDE in the past couple of years.

I arrived yesterday via MIA with light baggage; I hate traveling heavy so I plan on using the lavanderia at least once in my seven days. You have to pay US$10 at the airport for a tourist card, pass through immigration, and then have a cursory bag check. It was all very low key and I wasn't shaken down for any propinas along the way. I arranged with the Hotel New Garden for a taxi pickup for US$20 this trip, but when you exit the airport there will be a mob of taxi drivers vying for your business if you like to negotiate over nickels and dimes.

The ride to Sosua is less then ten minutes from there. I was surprised with how easily I conversed with my taxi driver Silvio. I am far from fluent and rarely get a chance to speak Spanish but sometimes my mind unblocks and I do much better (this also happens when I've had a few but not too many drinks).

Checked in at the hotel with Omar which was very easy. I got a top floor room with the jacuzzi. Fortunately I don't use elevators which is good because they don't have one, so if you're old and out of shape request a bottom floor room. The place has a nice pool and patio dining area that is well staffed and usually has a harem of girls that will make your initial wick-dipping effortless.

At this point I was very tired and I hadn't released in a week so I was looking only for a quality BBBJ so I decided to hit La Passion. One of the other mongers at the hotel chided me a bit for this, which I respect on one level but each person and situation is different. He wants to be a player and enjoys the hunt. I wanted to be serviced without any hassle or drama.

So I walked down Pedro Clisante to La Passion. I stopped into the Claro station and picked up a cellphone for DR$500 which comes with a small amount of minutes. I don't plan on talking much so I didn't buy a card. Along the way I was propositioned by Haitian shoe shine boys, who were persistent despite the fact I was wearing sandals. There were also a few sharks along the way, particularly one on the right near one of the clubs (I forgot the name) who had a 'menu' with pictures of very hot chicas and spoke fluent English. For some reason this rang all sorts of alarms for me, especially when he tried to shepherd me into the club/hotel. Now this is in plain view on Clisante so I wasn't worried about being stabbed or robbed, but it very well could have been a costly hustle had I not excused myself. Maybe I'll give it a whirl later in the week to TOFTT and report back.

I made it to La Passion looking for Yari. I walked in and was amazed at the wall of smoking chicas behind the bar. I sat down and ordered water (as a severe problem drinker in the past I have completely given up alcohol these days), and Bella was there to just stare at me like I'm the Gringo Adonis. In fact it is a little unsettling at first because I was expecting I could sit down, preview the ladies, and have one sit down with me, but this place operates differently. Instead there are like twenty chicas in little, skimpy sailor suits behind the bar or walking on the bar and they all are in love with you. As Bella and a few passers-by stared at me I felt obligated to talk with them which threw me off, but frankly I think I was just being an AFC. Not only could I have just shut my mouth and enjoyed myself but I could have easily requested a different chica. But Bella is fucking hot so I just got lucky despite being an idiot.

So I asked for the menu, and only wanting BBBJ I went for the DR$1300 masaje. Went out back, gave myself a quick shower while she prepared the room, and then laid down for the massage prelude. She took off her top and showed off a nice tight little body and some spectacular tetas naturales and climbed aboard my back for the massage. She did an excellent job on my aching ankles and feet, then turned me over, tied up her hair in a cute white ribbon, poured some honey (miel) on my cock, and went to town and looked at me through the mirror. I take awhile to cum, and while she wasn't impatient she went to HJ mode a couple times expecting me to come, so I guess CIM was not gonna happen. Anyway I ended up cumming a load that I suspect may have triggered some local seismic activity, then I washed up and gave her DR$500 as a propina. In reality DR$200 would have been plenty but cumming clouds my judgment like a drug, and I was in the hopes that a repeat might lead to some CIM as her looks and overall personality are quite alluring. Looking back on it that was probably dumb but I'm also not here to quibble over $5.

By the way, La Passion is still under construction so no soapy massages. Also the girl (at least this time) doesn't shower you down and the water is cold. Not a big deal but these little things are what differentiate Bangkok's legendary massage service from what is otherwise an outstanding service at La Passion.

I walked up and down Clisante a couple times to get my bearings when a motocicleta dude approached me with some impeccable English. Now while he is indeed an angling shark my alarms did not go off with him and I knew this might be an opportunity to learn a bit about the area. So I jumped on his bike and he drove me around for an hour. Basically it was Man Tour Lite. I found Salon Figaro for future visitation, and we stopped and talked with chicas and I got a couple numbers. In fact I couldn't believe how easy it is to approach just about any chica. It is as if every chica knows that stepping out on Pedro Clisante is like putting up a sign and the goodnCatholic girls know to stay away. Every girl I made eye contact with gave me a wink or a smile and was easily approachable. I got a couple numbers on my cellphone.

When I got back to NG I talked with a couple tigresas. They wanted to double-team but I instead asked them to give me competitive sales pitch, and they turned on each other quite easily, LOL. I was very tired by this point and really needed to eat. So I ordered room service, took a shower, and ate. I then went downstairs for an espresso and ran into Marlin and Maria, whose fotos are in Gogo's thread. These two were a trip. Again, they were very easy going and did not trip my usual alarm bells despite being far from 'gazelles'. Marlin is a dark-skinned honey with a great sense of humor that is a just a little bit on the wild side. Out of the two she seems to have a genuine horny side that requires no coaxing to do anything. Marlin is also a cutie and seemed to be the leader of the two, but I was in love with Maria who has a certain Asian-Indian facial quality that I Just wanted to make my own. What I especially liked was that these girls seemed to be loyal to one another when I tried to play them against each other. Obviously I could have taken just either/or but I was kind of just going with the flow and decided to give them both an audition.

Anyway I negotiated ST from both of them for US$40 each (approx. DR$1400). While I did expressly clarify that I wanted deep BBBJ and not just the virginal schoolgirl kiss and peck I forgot to specify CIM. Guys, you have to make sure you get them to agree to whatever you want before the magic happens. I know, it detracts from the whole Romeo fantasy some of us like to have but you have to liken it to buying a car or house from a hot chick. Flirt all you want but you don't buy/accept the car until you specify/verify the options. With chicas in the DR you're in fact buying a service from these girls that has its own set of 'options'. Unless it is stipulated beforehand you seriously risk a "no paga, no placer' situation.

As we went up to my room I mentioned I had a 'juguete' (vibrating dildo) and they actualy got a bit excited. We got upstairs and the fun started. They seemed to understand I was interested in watching them perform on each other, and they managed to upsell me a bit ($10 more) and frankly I didn't give a shit by this point. So I sat on my chair and watched them use my vibrator on each other along with all the usual lesbian show. Eventually I managed to get in between the two of them, and you know how the rest goes. Afterwards we all cleaned up and joked in the shower and they were in no hurry to leave. No clock watching, no bullshit, just a nice combination of business and pleasure, I like it when the chicas actually manage to let loose and have a good time without being stoned, drunk, or destroying the hotel room. Eventually we traded numbers and they left holding hands, and I hit the jacuzzi to loosen up and then had an espresso before bed. I had to fend off more chicas at the bar by saying "Ya lo hago con tres chicas... NO PUEDO MAS!", LOL. I love this place already.

By the way, as far as Spanish goes, here is my take on the issue. Unlike MDE where Spanish is almost mandatory, you can monger here quite easily knowing little or no Spanish at all. The hotels are staffed by bilingual staff. They have American TV channels. The menus are in English, Spanish, German, and Italian. The German Claro store speaks fluent English. Many of the (more aggressive) street sharks speak near-fluent English. Most of the girls I met speak at least broken English which allows for some hilarious opportunities to practice pointy-talkie Spanglish. As for me I understood the girls almost 100% as they just knew to speak a little more slowly and simply like they would a grade-schooler.

Bottom line is Spanish will get you much farther if you wish to go outside the tourist areas or buy from the inside, local market and get the best deals and be treated like a player. But you can have a very good time here just being a gringo reading from a phrase book. If you do try and speak spanish, don't try and be fancy. Stick to the present tense because it is better to speak the right words incorrectly than to end up saying gibberish. I tried some fancy verb conjugation myself and got some hilarious "WTF?" looks.

BTW, one thing I was happy to see is how well our black brothers dominate here in DR. While I myself am whiter than snow and am certainly no race apologist I have seen firsthand some of the blatant racism that brothers get in South America and Asia where prices with the girls suddenly double or they completely refuse. Not so much here in the DR, and in fact I've already seen that the finest chicas on the arm of a brother. I hope I can pick up some game from you guys.

More to cum.

Great report TooJaded, seem's like you already got game.

Wilfred and Omar aren't going to tell you this but if your on the fourth floor you have a secret. On both ends on the top are open party space's. You can party there and see the whole city and it's very private. Go to the top floor hang a left and go to the end and open that door and Sosua is there with a great view. There is a the same thing on the other end but you have to go through your balcony door.

Gave you a few tip's in my thread also. Can't wait for your next report.

You will pay too much for something on your first trip, hundreth trip, and every trip in between. You have the right attitude, don't worry about it where it spoils your fun.

Looks like you are off to a good start. I always enjoy reading the reports from DR newbies as it brings back memories. Enjoy the rest of your trip and keep us posted.

Excellent day 1 report. Look forward to day 2.

I have not been to Sousa yet, and appreciated you taking me step by step through your first day there. That first day in a new location is always a little scary and tense, until you get comfortable with your new venues. On a short trip, this can take a major bite out of your time if you spin your wheels too long. I now feel more comfortable with the process of getting off the plane, and getting to the hotel to set up your base. The language barrier is always a concern to me. My Spanish is improving, which really seems to make things easier, and more enjoyable.

Keep the reports coming!

Rent a car at the airport. I always do. Why you ask?
I like to roam around with or without Chica on my side. I have approached many "normal" girls on the road and most hopped into my car. Nothing more romantic than taking your chica over the mountains to Santiago. Along the way there are many small rivers where you can go take a dip in cold mountain water. Nothing beats a BJ while driving. Or roaming your hand all over her body.
Meet girls on the road, take them to cabanas etc becomes easy. I also like to visit casinoes, disco places and local streets. Never been in trouble or accidents. In fact one time when I had a flat some local guys changed the tire and when I offered money would not take it. Many a time I have given rides to schoolboys and girls on the way to their school. Nobody complained saying I am a child molester. Many of these children walk a long way to school and appreciate the lift. You should hear them singing and enjoying the ride. If I had a girl with me they are happily grilling her about her relationship with me. Although I am not fluent in Spanish I can understand very well.
In fact I hardly walk. i go to the carwash or any place stop over for a drink and enjoy the scenery. I have gone to local gatherings and sit with them. On weekends they are out in some local bar or restaurent. Never felt threatened, even danced with few local girls who are with their family.
When you have a car you have the freedom to dine, drink, fuck wherever you choose even in the car.
Ok. enough rambling. How best to rent a car?
Do some research on the net and shop around all sites to find specials. It is cheaper by the week. I would rent a medium size car because there are potholes in many roads. Do not buy any insurance when you book the car. At the airport when you pick up the car they offer you bumper to bumper coverage with emergency service for about $20/day. American bought insurance coverage will be a problem because it takes time for them to verify and get approved etc in case you get into an accident.
So have fun with the freedom instead of sitting with the sweaty moto guy.

and just because you have a chica with you that could possibly verify your story, she will flip her story for whatever her dominican police friend say's. you my friend are setting yourself up. whats the point? you want to be percieved as a great guy? or is this your way of giving back?

go back a couple months ago someone wisely stated that insurance don't mean shit. when you get in an accident in the dr it's who you know and how many peso's you got that will determine the outcome.

on top of this you condone drinking and driving in the dr? let me get this straight. your pulled over for an accident after drinking, with an ****d child you don't know, with fucked up insurance, and you don't speak spanish. somehow i think you like putting yourself in bad situation's.

Great post.. Believe me, you have not been overspending. I got the ATM receipts to prove it. Take a mental note of who is asking what prices. Your always going to pay more when your a horney bastard a wash in a sea of what you like. Once the thrill is gone then you will be able to operate. However, there will be a few that you will gladly beat the market for. Also, some of the quoted prices on here are outright lies by x-pats and are for Putas you would not dare touch..

Have fun & be safe.

KaijuHey now Sammon has posted ALL the positive so I'm going to discuss the negative. To be honest if this will be your first time in DR then highly recommend that you do not rent or drive a car at all.

It's the worst driving that I've ever seen. FUCK getting a blow job while driving. Put twohands on the steering wheel look both ways and behind you at all times and pray to the almighty that you make it to your destination safely. It's that bad down there.

Do a little research on this Sosua board. In this past year you'll find the forefathers discussing to drive or not to drive and the discussion wasnt pretty. One monger got scamed and went to Jail!*

IMHO find and talk to a cab driver get his number and have him pick you up and take you to where ever you want to go. So if he gets into an accident the liability is not on you.

I agree guys. It's dangerous but rewarding. I've driven the vast majority of times that I been there. But I speak Spanish and I started out driving on the North Coast which is relatively easy. It really gets crazy when you head over to Santiago and Santo Domingo. Not for the faint of heart and the risks you take are dead serious with jail and money penalties especially for dribving while gringo.

That being said, the freedom a car gives you provides some great experiences, especially outside the cities. Picking up chicas along side the road is easy to do but few are ready to blow you as thanks for the ride. But it happens. More often, you end up with a kiss, a little carinosa and a phone no.)

You get to experience the people outside the cities where the pace is slow and they have time to talk and share. One time, two buddies and I drove from Sosua over to Gaspar Hernandez for the afternoon. Just cruised around town, talking to chicas, eating ice cream, hanging in the car wash behind the Shell. Other times, I've stopped in pueblitos for a bite or a drink and just shot the shit with people. Pretty chicas always seem to appear when there is a gringo around. Another fun thing to do is to cruise off the main highway up into the hills and see what you can see.

But as the more experienced mongers cautioned, you better speak Spanish and have a good head on your shoulders before taking the risk.

Great post Coolie............... I agree with you 100%Me & my wingman drove down in La Romana. He drove & to fit in he drove like a nut. We hooked up with a waiter at casa de campo who took us to the local bars. We were like the side show at the circus. Our guide only was afforded cervases on us which was cool for us & him. He took us to places we would have never found. The second time we went to the local places we hooked up with the same two chicas. We didn't have a guide. My crazy wingman driving got nervous as the chicas were blowing us as we drove. I told him just to keep driving around in circles until the girls come up for air. On a side note are all Dominican chicas only interested in short term dinero. Pro or am Is there any hope that there is a beautifull, honest, faithfull Dominican chica.

The truth about renting, owning, driving around in the DR has been well documented.

Many have been caught up in scams. "The small town rental company rents there vehicle to you. A couple of days into the rental, your vehicle is stolen(by the rental company). And we all know where that story ends. "

You rent a vehicle. Have an accident. And if you live. You wish you hadn't.

You cruise around without a care in the world. And you have a great time. Without any problems at all.

All this being said.

I am a frequent traveler to the DR. I have access to my choice of vehicles and I keep a motorcycle at bay for my convenience trips (short trips and no rain). I use taxis without too much concern, motoconchos for the deliveries and publicos, buses for expanding my phone-list.

Life is a calculated risk and the rewards must be worth it in the end when you tally it all up.

Some of this stuff newbies can do by public transport extremely cheaply. Gaspar Hernandez, Rio San Juan, Sabaneta de Yasica, Imbert, Navarrete, etc are all towns which would cost less than $8 return to visit on the bus. And once in these towns, which are very small, you can walk everywhere.

It would take quite a few short holidays on the North Coast before a newbie runs out of places to visit by bus or carrito. After that it may be time to think about hiring a car.

From my discussions with other mongers and dominicans, that if you rent from the bigger companies and pay for the third party liability insurance, in the event of an accident, I have been informed there will be no jail time. If you rent from a smaller no name company, then that company may not have adequate insurance to keep you out of jail in the event of an accident.

I stopped one night at around 10pm for two well dressed chicas who were standing on the side of the road near the playa dorada complex in Puerto Plata, they were pleasant and if I wanted, I could have had sex with them, I would have had to pay something, but they were pleasant and were not hard core pros.

I have seen numerous chicas on the sides of roads waiting for gua guas, that motioned for me to stop and give them a ride.

Being in the Dom Rep without a car, I can't do it. The main highways are in good condition and oftentimes not a lot of traffic on the main highways (if you drive in the middle part of the day). On Friday evenings after 5pm, the highways from Santo Domingo going north (towards costanza, santiago etc) and east (towards juan dolio, la romana, bavaro etc) will have more traffic as people leave the city for the weekend.

If you drive slow, take your time, drive like a grandma going to church on Sunday, you should have no problems driving in Dom Rep. Driving at night and driving during heavy rains, not fun in Dom Rep.

In defense of Sammon, I would be lying if I said that I hadn't done most of those things in the DR. Drinking and driving (when it was legal), blow-jobs in the car, and almost everything Sammon refers to, BUT driving kids home. These actions were reckless and stupid and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Nevertheless, the car is "King" in Latin America, especially in The Dominican Republic and Cuba. Having a car in the DR, gives you greater freedom to get around and meet women. With greater freedom comes greater liability. If you visit the DR frequently and drive, it's not a matter of "if," but "when" you will have an accident. I have had (3) flat tires, hit a dog (bumper damage), have had (2) accidents with motoconcho drivers (one insignificant and one significant) and I count myself lucky.

For the first trip, there's little reason to be driving and very little need if one is staying on the North Coast. Just take the bus.

Man, it's real work trying to find Ocean view Chica friendly hotels. At least it's hard for me. Anyone got any help on this? I'd appeciate it, believe me.
KaijuAs Chief Justice wrote Sosua Bay Hotel has ocean view rooms in a monger section of their hotel (I would never stay in Sosua Bay Hotel/Victorian House, I am 90% certain the Italian owner of Sosua Bay Hotel was involved with the murder of an American). Victorian House is not chica friendly.

Blue Bayou condo rental has ocean views. Some apartments in el neptuno have a partial ocean view. El Neptuno apartments are across the street from the Victorian House. I don't know if any rooms at hotel rancho have ocean views: http://www.hotelelranchososua.com

Cabarete has numerous condo rentals with ocean views, do a search in google: Apartments Cabarete. http://www.activecabarete.com/lodging/

There are a few villas for rent in Sosua that sit on the water.

On the mountain road between Montellano and Santiago, I saw school kids hitchhiking, they were young, wearing uniforms. No sidewalks on that road and no school buses. I did not stop. I can see how some kids want to get home quickly and not have to walk in the heat, up hills, on a road with no sidewalks and it is probably normal for them to hitch hike. If I was them I would probably be trying to hitch a ride too. Some school kids with money pay a motoconcho for the ride home. That mountain road is dangerous, it has many curves, no guardrails in some places and people walk on the narrow road, because there are no sidewalks.

I live in the Washington-Baltimore area, in the suburbs, and that means I just about have to drive everywhere. It's fifty miles to the marina where I keep my sailboat; my one remaining close relative lives twenty-five miles away; before I retired, I commuted forty miles each way each day.

Do I really want to bring my auto-dependent lifestyle on vacation? Not really, if I don't need it. Nice to take a vacation from driving, too.

Part of the pleasure of my Blackbeard's vacation was that I wasn't driving everywhere. The beach was a couple of minutes' walk; Jenny's was maybe ten minutes away. Food, beverages, conversation and poontang were right on the premises. Why would I need a car?

My next trip will be to Sosua, and I plan to go scuba-diving in the afternoons. Google Earth shows me that it's maybe a ten-minute walk from any of the Calle Dr. Rosen hotels to the end of the beach where Diwa Dominica's boat picked us up. Once again, I can do that without renting a car. Why add a rental car to my trip, if "shank's mare" will take me where I have to go - or, if I'm going farther, I could get there by publico?

Of course, as always, Your Mileage May Vary....

i would recommend a first timer to drive in the dr if: you could communicate in spanish, has some driving experience outside of the us, and can spend a few days evaluating the scene before making that decision.

the reason you want to speak spanish is because you could get pulled over and need to understand what's going on. you might need to bullshit yourself away from an accident or scam. when i drove from sdq to sosua, i often took the mountain road northeast of santiago. many people flagged me for short rides. it was fun meeting local people from the country side, but i was aware of who i stopped for, which were mostly elders or women. some of the times in that route there was a police blockade with officers looking for weapons and drugs. they would ask to see my car rental papers and then let me go, never asked me for money or talked down to me. other times teenagers would stretch a rope across the road to force me to stop and ask for money. the first time i saw this i almost shit my pants, as i thought i was about to get robbed at gunpoint. then i found out the kids mostly have fun and are satisfied with a 5 or 10 peso coin.

driving in brazil and peru is hell compared to the dr, so to me the dr seemed quite enjoyable on the road. the main highways are in great condition and the rental cars are mostly automatic, which makes it a bit easier depending on what you drive back home. i did drink beers while driving, but i was driving around samana peninsula away from heavy traffic and populated towns. the few women that travelled by my side encouraged me to buy jumbo beers on the side of the road, apparently that is normal behavior in the dr. i never got a bj on the road and now i regret never asking for one.

be ready to accept that you will hit something and the outcome is dictated from how well you can drive in and out of those situations. in santo domingo it is normal and expected to bumper check publicos in rush hour, scrape the corners of your car while attempting to change lanes in heavy traffic, and hitting your mirror on other vehicles driving too close to you. in the north there are no big traffic jams, but you will see many motorcycles in puerto plata and be very aware of their presence. i had one minor accident in a total of nearly 30 days driving in my 2 previous trips. i hit the rear of a publico without brake lights and bent the corner of my front bumper. i took off quickly because i did not injure anyone plus i was nervous and did not want to play stupid and wait and see what could happen. i filled an accident report with casa del condutor and the rental company didn't charge me anything.

i think sammon was a bit misunderstood because he is giving advice to a first timer as if he was a dr regular, but in fact sammon sounds like a very experienced dr traveller with clear knowledge of what he does and its consequences. i will continue to drive in the dr because it is fun and the day they tell us foreigners can't do that anymore i will be very disappointed. on a side note, boricua online thinks i drive great in santo domingo because most likely i am a very louzy driver in the us. i think he is right.

Very good posts. Before my second trip I broke the "my 2 cents" rule and booked online thru Orbitz for a rental vehicle in Alamo. Bad mistake, not only did they not have the car I paid for, all they could give me was a manual gear auto. Eventually after some bitching they gave me a chevy aveo that was reserved for someone else arriving later that day, but had to pay a small price increase. Any plans to return to Cuba anytime soon?

Any plans to return to Cuba anytime soon?I reserve online through the Alamo website. Problem with using Orbitz or other travel websites to book rental cars is that oftentimes the travel sites don't give you all the insurance options for the rental car.

At the Alamo website I reserve at least 24 hours in advance, decline the CDW/LDW insurance which can cost $20-$25 per day (my mastercard credit card provides that coverage). I choose the third party liability insurance for about $5 per day and tire/glass insurance for about $3 per day.

I haven't had a problem with Alamo when arriving at las americas airport in Santo Domingo, they have always had my reservation and a few times upgraded me for free. I use one of the coupon codes from this site and save about $50: http://travel.bjs.com/promotion/bjs/carrental/default.asp#alamo

Nice sunny day, good music in the car, on the way to meet a cute chica, driving on a smooth highway without a lot of traffic, can be a pleasant experience in Dom Rep.

Taking guaguas or publicos gets you embedded in the country too.

Hiring a car is just getting to know some taxi drivers and making a deal to pay a flat fee plus gas for the day. My experience is that it about as cheap or cheaper to get a car and driver as it is to rent a car. I paid 1000 pesos plus gas ($27) in sosua last year for an 8 hour day. A rental with insurance would have been more and I still would have had to pay for gas.

Once you have somebody you like you can get them by cell phone anytime.

Go back a couple months ago someone wisely stated that insurance don't mean shit. When you get in an accident in the DR it's who you know and how many peso's you got that will determine the outcome. You are spot on with this one. One example happened to me last month in another LA country. I was in Nicaragua at the beginning of last month. I called myself getting back with an ex girlfriend there. She decided to take me to a romantic spot called Masaya. On the way an 18 year old girl in a Nissan Truck with the chrome bumper bars hit us square in the back of my ex girl's little Kia. Her father and other family members were with her.

We were on a main two-way street blocking traffic about 5pm. It was taking the police a long time to come so we moved the cars off to the side. It took the police an hour and a half to arrive. The father kept trying to get out of it saying he would pay $20 for the damage. Surprisingly it wasn't damaged bad. The bumper just had a small crack in it. But it was definitely going to cost more than $20.

The police finally arrived. He wrote some things up then everyone had to follow him to the station. The girl admitted hitting us in the back. My ex girl was told to come to the station the following Tuesday to pick up the police report. Somehow when she got the report it said that it was inconclusive because the cars were moved so the policeman could not tell what happened.

It was suspected that the girl's father paid off the policeman. Then get this. She called me saying I had to give her $250 to get the car fixed. As it turns out the whole thing was MY fault. If I wouldn't have come to see her then she wouldn't have called off work and wouldn't have been trying to go to that place so the accident would never have happened to begin with. I told her that she would have to wait until the 15th of Neveruary because this month I had to send some money to Thailand to help a friend who has a sick buffalo.

Personally, very experienced eighteen year old girls who have been selling their pussy for the last three - five years and can easily take it in the ass are the best. All things come with some risk. Accidents can happen anywhere anytime. I have lots of experiences driving in other countries so much so that I always rent a car. As I said this gives me the freedom to roam around with or without girls( Mostly with). In DR situation I am not into drinking all day or waiting till classico opens or not much of a beach person laying on the beach drinking. Rental cars come with unlimited mileage.
I disagree with other forum members saying newbies should not rent a car. How does the newbie gets the experience if he never tries? If he rents a car and uses extreme caution , next time he will be a pro.
Why many think people renting cars are doomed? We certainly are not interested in demolishion derby in DR.
As to the Bumper to Bumper insurance get it at the counter when you rent the car. As a added benefit credit card coverage is ok. Be aware that if you have an accident it takes a long time for the credit card company to approve the coverage and send money. They will not let you leave the country till the compensation is paid. This counter coverage is approved by the rental company whether it is Alamo, Avis or whatever. Yes it was $20/day last time. Many times it is more expensive than the rental. It is local coverage and if you get into a accident they will send somebody to take care of it and also help you with the police although I have not experienced because I never had a accident whenever I rented a car anywhere.

Last flight into SDQ, I sat next to an Mexican guy married to a Dominicana. We were talking about how crazy the roads were here and he commented that the primary rule for driving in La Republica is if you have an accident, don't stop.

And I refuse to use Alamo because they failed to honor a reservation twice. once was x-mas time but the other was not a holiday. There mentality was not customer service oriented, to say the least. The owners of Alamo at SDQ also own another car rental agency there, Hertz? or Avis?, I think.

If you look at the credit card receipt you sign at the car rental counter, the name of the company on the receipt is not Alamo, it is some company with S.A. at the end of the name.

Throughout the years of renting cars in DR, I have gotten to know people at Alamo and I have given them tips and small gifts, they know me. Before every trip I have a Dominican friend call the guy I know at Alamo, to confirm that everything is in order with the rental car.

The guy I know at Alamo told me that the same group of people own Avis, Nelly, Budget and Hertz and maybe Europcar. I had a problem with an Avis van that I rented in Puerto Plata and a guy wearing a Budget shirt came to repair the vehicle.

Avis tried to overcharge me twice the first two times I rented cars in Dom Rep and for that I said Adios to Avis.

Alamo is not perfect, Alamo pissed me off my last trip, but overall I can't complain. I would probably stay away from the Chevrolet Aveo, when renting from Alamo.

I don't think the other rental companies offer glass/tire insurance.

Alamo and National are partners in Dom Rep.

Also, some of the quoted prices on here are outright lies by x-pats and are for Putas you would not dare touch.
I don't know which ex-pats, and which prices, you are talking about so I cannot agree or disagree with you.

But ex-pats should, and normally do, pay considerably less than short-term visitors. For any one of four reasons:

1) The chicas may see them as repeat customers, or potential repeat customers, if they keep their prices realistic. With short-term visitors they just grab what they can whilst available.

2) The chicas know that ex-pats know what prices the chicas charge to locals (usually to Dominicans as few Haitians have any spare cash to spend on putas). So they feel they can get away with charging double to ex-pats but maybe not the three- or four-times as much they may charge short-term visitors. Typical prices might be for ST 500 to locals, 1000 to ex-pats, 1500 or 2000 to visitors. TLN 750 to locals, 1500 to ex-pats, 2500 or 3000 to visitors.

3) Once a chica has been with an ex-pat once and he has treated her decently she knows that she will be getting paid for undergoing, if not exactly an enjoyable experience, at least a comfortable and not unpleasant one, whereas with short-term visitors she is always taking a risk of being ill-treated.

4) If a chica sees a gringo living alone (like me) she sees him as a realistic target for marriage (or quasi-marriage). So they do more for less in the hope of furthering the connection. "More" might be in bed or around the house. I try to play fair and not lead them on dishonestly but it is hard to get the balance right.

As for chicas "no-one would want to touch", the ex-pat should be at an advantage as he has unlimited time to sort through who is available and is under no pressure to make a selection. There is many a chica on the Strip whom I initially found attractive but after repeating sightings over many months I am glad I invested my money elsewhere.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I took a newbie to Cristal last week and he was contemplating paying 1500 salida plus 3500 TLN for a chica I wouldn't have fucked had she paid me. We all have different tastes.

Another guy I recently took to my local puta bar for Dominicans felt so uncomfortable in that environment that he wouldn't even look at the chicas available. Granted, most of them were unappetising but from time to time I have found little diamonds there happy to stay the night for 1000 pesos and giving great service.

You have to look past the packaging whether it is Cristal or your local dive and that is easier for an ex-pat to do.

Of course there are some chicas no-one should touch, druggies or those who obviously have health problems. And their are lots of washed-up broken-ass ex-pats on the North Coast (usually drug addicts or alcoholics) who might resort to fucking anything, but those guys don't post on w h o r eboards.

That is the upside to being an ex-pat. There are also considerable downsides, mainly to do with security. The chicas and their possibly criminal friends know where you live and maybe what you have worth stealing. And if they set you up to scam you with false accusations you cannot dash to the nearest airport and exit the country. Not to mention the repeated demands for hand-outs. Just because I fucked a chica once before Noah's Flood doesn't mean I have to buy them a drink or a meal every time they see me on the Strip years later, but they all try it on.

Is there any hope that there is a beautifull, honest, faithfull Dominican chica.I would say yes. Problem for me is settling down with one chica. The chicas get tired of my disappearing act, when I go to be with other chicas, and the chicas give me the adios treatment afterwards.

This topic has been discussed on this board before. Some guys believe every Dominican chica is only after a guy's money (or a Visa to get off the island) and that no Dominican chica could fall in love with a foreigner. I believe you can find faithful beautiful chicas in Dom Rep, some guys may call me naive or stupid, no problem, but it is what I believe.

Just because I fucked a chica once before Noah's Flood doesn't mean I have to buy them a drink or a meal every time they see me on the Strip years later, but they all try it on.Excellent post.

I had 3 accidents in the states within the span of 2 years (one my fault, and the other 2 someone elses.). I have been driving in the DR for 5 years or so now, and have been here many, many times during that period, and have never had an accident, major or minor. What I have learned during this time is that it's not so much how others drive, but how I drive. I drive as defensively here as I would anywhere else. Doesn't mean I haven't had close calls but, because I was cautious and alert. I was able to avoid disaster.

My attitude is that if you can drive anywhere, you can drive here, with just a bit more caution. I'm with the school of thought that you miss out on so much limiting yourself. And, besides, I have no desire to take public transportation and find myself crammed into a fu**ing guagua or taxi with no air-con and a bunch of sweaty people, myself included.

The benefits of driving here are great but, obviously, not for everybody.

When I rent a car in the Dominican Republic, I still have to keep my guard up. Even if the car rental agency has a good reputation (Thrifty and Alamo/National) it's still relative to the crooks (Hertz and Europcar).

1. I make a reservation on the company website (I don't book on Orbitz or Expedia).
2. I use a credit card that has a low limit (less than $1,000). Enough to cover the deposit and one that can cover the insurance (AmEx is great!!)
3. I show-up on time and I bring print-outs of my reservation.
4. If available, I get insurance on the windshield and tires.
5. I get to know all of the employees well and by name to insure better service (they know me and my women ;)).
6. I do a thorough inspection of the car, before I sign-off on the vehicle.
7. I keep a photocopy of my International Driver's License and US driver's license in the glove compartment.
8. I keep the rental agency office number on my cellphone.
9. After I return the car, I make sure that the carbon copies are torn-up
10. Even after the trip, I keep an eye on the charges to my credit card.

I have never rented a vehicle in POP, 2x at STI, and 20+ at SDQ. At SDQ, I deal with the rental agency clerks in the external facility (near the rentals), NOT the ones in the airport. For the last three-years, I have rented through Thrifty. Prior to that I used Alamo/National. Generally, I pay less than $200/week (taxes included) for a 4-door compact car (Aveo or Sentra).

Driving in the Dominican Republic is no joke. Not only are the drivers aggressive, but the poor lighting, awful road conditions, quantity of motorcycles, broken traffic lights, tiguere cops, and POS vehicles that we have to share road with make the DR a very challenging driving environment.

..........And I refuse to use Alamo because they failed to honor a reservation twice. once was x-mas time but the other was not a holiday. There mentality was not customer service oriented, to say the least. The owners of Alamo at SDQ also own another car rental agency there, Hertz? or Avis?, I think.

That is what happened to me last trip. I made a reservation online with Alamo.com. I arrived at the Maximo Gomez office and the tweety bird that works there told me no cars were available. This homo acted like it was no big deal and continued to talk to his buddy on the phone. He took my cell number and said he would call when a car was available, maybe some time later that day.

I never received a call and ended up renting from Eurocar the next day. When I returned home I wrote a complaint to the Alamo Headquarters knowing darn well they wouldn't help much as the Alamo offices are independently owned. Headquarters returned an email a few days later. All Alamo in the DR had to say was next time I make a reservation online to email them a copy of the reservation. I am like WTF.

I rented with Dollar this trip and the one thing I don't like is they have a Dollar Rent a Car bumper sticker plastered on the rear of the vehicle. To me this just says tourist, go rip him off.

Customer Service in the DR for the most part does not exist.

A friend of mine from the island of St Vincent always said to me chicas with a gap between their two front teeth are always good in bed. lol.

I find the chicas who have a little bit of the dracula type fang teeth, usually are freaks in bed. Now that I think about it you are absolutely right..from my experience. My Santiago gf has those dracula teeth and she is a stone cold freak. To add one more, if you want some really good pussy find a girl whose second toe is longer than her big toe.

I would add in that if you get the car during the day, in addition to inspecting the car, I also take a bunch of pix from all angles and all parts to document the prior damage.

If I'm staying on SDQ for the most part, then I forego the tire and windscreen insurance but if I'm going to be on the road, it is a must.

Customer Service in the DR for the most part does not exist.I would have to say I had excellent customer support from Budget at POP. They were there to help with the police report after the accident and were timely getting reports to me via email so I had my insurance claim within a month. I used Barrons through Expedia so can not comment on the credit card insurance. I never did try to get my $220 back from Budget on the liability insurance but the guy who talked me on the phone while I was at the clinic was very helpful.

I have never driven in SD but found the North coast fairly easy to drive except for the motorcycles everywhere. I agree knowing a little Spanish will go a long way getting fuel and directions. I do not know much Spanish but learning more every day.

With the non existent Delta connection into POP it looks like I will need to fly into SDQ next trip and drive to Sosusa. Should be an interesting trip. If other members have any tips on driving from SD to Sosusa I would be interested in your input. I understand going through Nauga is the best route. Does anybody have any input on Budget at SDQ?

Thanks

Ok, I may have gone a little to hard and too fast in my first couple days because now I feel like the 'walking wounded'. But I'll continue where I left off.

I am not the most hardcore monger, and am enjoying the sun, the pool, and the escape from the daily grind as much, if not more, than the chicas. So anyway I was down at the pool on Sunday just relaxing with a book while sitting in the pool or the sunbeds. It was early and I was not looking for action but at some point struck up a conversation with a chick name Pela who told me she is a CMT and not a sex worker. Yeah, right. I noticed that she had a Betty Boop handbag which I know for a fact I read earlier was a gift from another one of you guys! So anyway I agreed to a DR$500 'clinical' massage, we went upstairs, and while she is a good masseuse it of course ended up turning into a DR$1000 ST. Nice face, a bit of a post-natal kangaroo pooch, and good BBBJ.

As you may remember I mentioned that I might TOFTT and check out that place over by Passion with the hustlers outside. My motoconcho errand guy Charli like everyone else of course is a paid hustler including this place. Knowing I could turn his loyalties in my favor I agreed to go with him for a Sunday 'pool party' and figured I would check out what the deal is. The place is called CMP (Caribbean Men's Paradise).

Sunday night was relatively hustle free (although the real sell would come later). When I got there there was a darker-skinned dominicana named Angel with huge tits I started chatting and lightly feeling up. Being the typical white guy she is a bit thick for my tastes but I ended up taking her for a test drive later in the evening. They wanted me to sign some kind of membership form but I refused, so Fernando (el jefe) told the receptionist girl (Tomarys) I was cool and to let me in. I went to the bar and had a couple drinks. I ended up letting my comedic side out and started telling the girls I was an American super-villain named "El Lechero Loco" along with some other tonteria. This amused the girls, and particularly Angel, to no end and is now my official name in this place.

Anyway, while Angel is not my type normally I got the impression that she would be excellent so I talked to Fernando about the Salida. I also used this opportunity to chat up the receptionist who is so damned cute and shy and even went so far as to describe the beautiful caramelo bebes we could make together and I swear she actually blushed a little.

Fernando came back and explained how things work (or how he wanted me to think they work) and basically they want to be the escort service that competes/complements with La Passion's massage house. DR$1000 salida to the house and DR$2500 for TLN with the chica (they said they don't offer ST as a rule but read further). They apparently feel that their chicas are hotter and quality controlled, STD-tested, et cetera to warrant the higher price. Frankly while it is expensive I am surprised they didn't try to open higher.

I wasn't interested in TLN, I just wanted to sample the service. I explained that to Fernando, and assured that him that while I wasn't a cheap charlie I wasn't interested in TLN and was simply checking the place out. I said I might be interested in ST. Eventualy I managed ST DR$1500 without clock watching + DR$1000 salida and use of one of their on-premises hotel rooms. These are hotel rooms which are not in service and frankly for good reason. Normally I wouldn't agree to such a steep price for ST but I knew there was a deeper angle to discover so I agreed. They even give you a receipt.

I went upstairs with Angel and before we even got started she was squeezing her huge melons and squirting me with milk. I was too stunned to be angry and then I just had to laugh because I figured it would make a great story. So if any of you guys like to suckle on huge milky boobs, Angel is your girl. The AC was broken so we just opened the doors and went at it. I have to give this girl an A+++ for effort as she seems to love nothing more than to suck cock and talk dirty. She is also is not grossly fat, but again I tend to go for flacitas. She sucked every last drop and swallowed my leche so much that I ended up having to take a day off on Monday to refill.

Meanwhile Charli my new errand boy was downstairs getting Tomarys' phone number under the nose of management for a more conventional form of date without the salida on her day off (i.e. go out during the day, have dinner, have GFE sex, but of course still give her something for tuition/rent/medicine). This kind of bummed me out actually because she looked so innocent and shy, but I got over it quickly and may call her.

I went downstairs and got some drinks comped by Fernando and left shortly thereafter. But Fernando asked me to meet him the following afternoon to discuss a new service he is offering, and this is what was trying to discover.

So the next day I went snorkeling in the morning and then went swimming in the pool. I met up with a couple mongers including the guy who runs The Teflon Monger blog which is worth reading. The guy is pretty cool, and is easily recognizable from the fotos on his blog. I recommend buying him a drink and learning from this guy as he is on Sosua trip number #11 in barely a year.

I ended up getting a major sunburn at the pool after my sunblock washed off. I mean mi cuerpo me duele MUCHO! And what is worse is all that snorkeling has my lower back muscles very sore because it was just me and Andy the swiss guide so we ended up free diving and swimming some extra distance, and I am apparently way out of fucking shape. So I got no pussy at all on Monday in order to recuperate.

I went back to CMP to get the hard sell and met up with Pierre, a canuck and fellow recovering booze-hound who has been in the DR for about 20 years. After setting the initial rapport they explained their setup, which is basically a prepaid membership which gives you access to a private resort, included car rental or chauffeured taxi, or network of hotels and selection from what I admit is a rather impressive catalog of chicas. Basically it is like a timeshare for pussy, and I also got the very distinct impression that this 'VIP' service might eliminate certain barriers (i.e. BBFS) for longer term engagements. I also managed to gather some outside info that Fernando is also a retired police officer of some rank.

Anyway, like most of you here I was like HELL NO and not interested. So while friendly and respectful it turned into a car sale tactic. They offered a couple lower tiers of membership but again this is not at all for me, and Fernando eventually realized he was wasting his time. If you are a rich business owner or lawyer or whatever who would otherwise go to Oxygen or Vikings and want to party like a rockstar with a harem of hot chicas that get tested twice a month that you might be able to get lesbian party or GFE BBFS service from and can afford to drop $$$$ at a time then maybe this is for you. Hell if if I was wealthy I would possibly consider it myself. But for the rest of us that earn an honest living and come here to stretch our dollar's value I recommend that you stay away.

So while it cost me a little extra out of pocket for the short-time loving hopefully I can at least say I've done my part to go out and report some fresh info to the board.

On the way home I ran into Maria, the Asian-Indian looking flacita who was dressed all up like a schoolgirl in tiny purple shorts and purple hi-top sneakers looking all kinds of illegally hot. She and I sat down at Flow for a drink and made tentative plans for TLN.

I ended up finishing the evening with a great meal at Scotch and Sirloin and woke up this morning howling from the sunburn and back ache. So I may use that as an excuse to go out to find a chica to rub some lotion on my back and then let me lay back, relax, and service me. Because in this way I have something in commmon with Mel Gibson: "I deserve to be BLOWN!".

You gotta sympathize with that crazy son of a b*tch.

P.S. I have to mention my motoconcho guy Charli. When I met him I knew he was a local hustler but I have turned his loyalty. It was as easy as letting him earn some money and being friendly but assertive with him and letting him know I am not a gullible chump (I also told him I would post his pic and name online is he cheats me). I've bought him a few drinks and walked/drove around bullshitting with him, and he is arranging my jeep safari for which he gets a commission. I also gave him DR$500 when he needed a 'loan' as an advance on some taxi services so now he drives me around and has his wife do my laundry, and I also have him doing some other errands I don't yet want to mention (nothing illegal) until the end of my trip. We get along well and while it is still business of course I now have a local 'source' of intel. On my next trip hopefully I won't need him. But in the end his services won't cost me more than DR$500 plus a few drinks (plus his commissions which I don't pay) and both of us are happy.

New Years in Boca (Great Day! A. K. A. The Gap-Toothed Girl)

. The party starts to wind down, so I take the girls home and head back to the hotel. I am tired and it's not even 7pm. At the hotel I transfer my photos to my laptop and rest a bit. Around 8pm I head to the "Perch. " I chat with Ex-Pat a bit, then Yennifer arrives. She's brought a friend.

This girl is smoking, cute face, and all the good things (and none of the bad) are sticking way the hell out. I forget about my 2 leches w/ Fuck Puppet and Yennifer, "Lopi", and I all walk off to my hotel. Once we arrive back at the hotel, all I know is that I am fucking this girl.

We have some drinks, I give Yennifer $RD100 for her find, thanks baby, I offer Lopi Road$600 for her services, she agrees, I see Yennifer off, and I start to get down to business. Lopi removes her top and I notice something.

One boob is bigger than the other. She has a "D" and a "C. " I guess that's better than a "B" and an "A, " but it is bit of a let down. Oh well, I am still going to bang Lopi, but perhaps, I need to take a better look at her ass. I get her on her stomach and start banging her from behind. I love the feel of her ass hitting my thighs and after 20-30 minutes of fucking and sucking I cum.

Life is good,

Where exactly is this clip joint located?

It is in the former El Batey Restaurant/Campo Bar which is right before La Passion if you're heading east. It has a cabana look to it and a great big sign that says "Caribbean Men's Paradise" in front.

I spent a good part of the afternoon with The Teflon Monger this afternoon and mentioned the place to him and learned something interesting. He's pretty sure that it was operating until recently under a different name and that some guys he knows used the service and had some kind of crazy gonzo-style interlude with a group of girls from the service. TTM himself is into some more gonzo shit than I myself prefer (just Google him to find his site) so it must have been quite off the hook.

Anyway it still isn't a service I am interested in but you may get better mileage from the girls you find there albeit it at a premium.

So anyway, I made an arrangement for TLN with Maria, the Asian-Indian looking flacita I mentioned earlier. I called her at noon and told her I'd meet her at 6PM at NG, we'd go eat, and to bring some a swimsuit. I also offered to give her a very generous DR$2500 which she accepted.

Anyway, I get back to the hotel today around 4PM (two hours early) and guess who is already there sitting at the bar? You got it, it was Maria. I knew she wasn't there because she just couldn't wait to get on 2Js cock but I went and said hi and told her I had to go get a shave and that I would be back soon, and meanwhile told Rafael to give her a drink.

I got back at around 4:45PM and was unsure what to do. I didn't know if she was there trying to ST before our 'date'. While I have absolutely no illusions about these chicks I thought if she was it would be in incredibly bad taste to come to NG where I am actually staying to try and pick up a ST so close to our agreed upon time for TLN.

So anyway I went and very nicely asked her if she was hungry, and she said no. I asked her if she was ready to go with me, and she said no. I asked her what she wanted to do and she said something about waiting for her friend, but all in all it was kind of impatient and frankly a little bitchy.

So I said OK and walked away like a chump, thinking maybe I misunderstood some part of the dynamic. But only for a minute. Then I went back and told her very calmly that she need not worry, that I changed my mind, and that she was free for the entire evening to do whatever she wants. She started to act surprised but I nonchalantly walked away before she could try any bullshit. Her attitude just ruined it, which is too bad because my tongue in her pussy the previous night sure felt tight and she tastes dulce.

Worst is I had actually been looking forward to the evening and resisted the temptation to blow a load with another chica earlier because I wanted to make sure I had my full effect ready.

As much as I wanted to just let bygones be bygones I knew I couldn't let that shit go as it would have set the tone for the evening. If we ever do hook up it better be following a promise to make it up to me any way her little mouth can!

Edit: I just looked out my window and saw her walking back to Clisante all alone. So she didn't get the ST or TLN with Too Jaded. HA! I am sure she won't walk far before someone else scoops that shit up but it still made me feel good to see her walking away.

Gotta admit I was a little surprised to see Maria walking towards the N.G. as Perla and I were exiting this afternoon. And I don't think she was there two hours before the appointed time just because dominicanas like to be early.

Good move blowing her off bro - that chica to me projects major "my shit doesn't stink" attitude like few others around here.

Aha! The wily and diabolical "Lechero Loco" has met his match in the ripe and libidinous Angel! It's double trouble for him!

And here comes Captain Save-A-Ho to save the day! Swooping in on poor rejected little Maria, he doffs his super-hero hood, sweeps her off her feet, wraps her in his crusader's cape, and carries her off to his own secret hideaway for a rapturous and over-paid TLN session....

:D :D :D

ROFLMAO at your "Day 2-3" story. CMP sounds interesting - for some - but I'm not ready to buy a time-share either.

By the way, I'm with Mr. E - you may not describe yourself as a player, but your handling of Maria shows you've got more game than Parker Brothers. There are plenty of other fish in Sosua Bay. Well done!

I was in Sosua very recently and renewed my aquaintance with a cute little Haitian-Dominican chica called Julietta (D.O.B. 7/15/88). I believe she has one child, but you wouldn't know it. She is available in the daytime, but she also asked to to go and spend the night with her at her house in Montellano, which I declined. She is rather sweet and is looking for a boyfriend. I don't quite know what to make of her, since she has told me she loves me (yeah, right) based on a fairly brief acquaintance, but she did ask me to see if I could find a friend of mine for her, and one good turn deserves another.

You can find her hanging out at the massage parlor that is on your right as you walk towards Casa Marina, just before Casa Marina (about 30 meters) and next to an Internet Cafe. She gave me a very good pedicure too. If I was younger and single I might follow up on her, but I can't.

Check her out if interested. She is VERY cute. Speaks good Spanish and Creole, not sure about English. I don't think she goes out in the bars at night.

Never really gave DR much of a thought until I started seeing a nice mulatta up in Canada, but during my winter vacation, I don't want to continue to freeze my butt off by driving up further north, so I started thinking where it is that I can find more exotic mix-raced girls and some decent weather during the winter. Then I find that DR is full of hot mulatta who kind of look black but also kind of don't. The girls I find totally attractive are the current crop of La Passion models. As soon as I find some time off, I'm so there.

It is true, they can be faithful and loving.... until the money runs out.True for just about every attractive woman on this planet. 99% of attractive women on this planet will not be with a penniless, homeless guy for a protracted period of time.

An average foreign guy, with an average job can find a beautiful Dominican woman who could be faithful.

You do not have to be a millionaire to have a beautiful woman on your arm in Dom Rep.

You will have to spend some money on the chica. Normal guys with normal girlfriends usually spend money on their girlfriends.

My wife is beautiful and faithful, not so sure about the honest, though. Still you can't have everything.

She walks through customs coming into the US with two large suitcases packed with food from the DR.

Customs officer: "Do you have any food in those cases ma'am?"

Wife (big smile): "Food? Comida? Oh, no senor, seguro que no".

Customs officer (checking out her ass): "Follow the green dots."

I know, that's why she wants to hook up before middle age sets in with a vengeance.

I don't have a picture, but when I saw this photo on the Haiti forum I thought it was the same chica. Very similar appearance.

And who's that person who say's Hola Amor on your facebook wall? "Oh that's my cousin" lol

Walked away like a chump? Sounds like you walked away like a champ. You said you were not a hardcore monger, but it sure looks like you are a real player. Right then and there when you told her she was free to go, dismissed, that her services were no longer needed; you let her know that she was not the only game in town and you were not going to be affected for one second by any bullshit. Thanks for not going up to her crying, begging, and kissing up like many other so-called mongers would have done. And she probably respected him more bc he didn't chump up to her. I noticed when I have to get hard on some of those chicas, the next time they see me they go out of their way to accommodate me. Rules in D. R

I already bought my ticket! I don't know what drove me to buy a ticket at the spur of the moment. OK, it was the La Passion models page and the fact that I haven't had a vacation since April, well, if you can call 4 days off plus a quick run up to Canada a vacation. In any case, if anybody from this report is going to be there, drop me a PM.

It is in the former El Batey Restaurant/Campo Bar which is right before La Passion if you're heading east. It has a cabana look to it and a great big sign that says "Caribbean Men's Paradise" in front.

Understood, and I even said that upfront. And of course I got the usual reply from management about how their chicas are higher class, quality controlled, and guaranteed drug and disease free, and even said there was a money-back guarantee, blah blah. This isn't exactly a legally binding, notarized agreement so I took it all with a grain of salt.

In the end I only agreed to the ST in order to figure out the deeper mystery of this place's operation, and TLN was even more expensive (DR$1000 + DR$2500 + implied propina)!

It's all marketing, nothing more, but you can drive yourself crazy looking for the best deal in town. The most important thing is the chemistry between you and any individual chica, no matter what the circumstances of the commercial transaction. I think if you end the day feeling like you would like to get back with her again, then you have had your money's worth.

How do you guys deal with chicas that come up to you completely unsolicited and refuse to go away?

As annoyed as I am with every motoconcho and cambio guy hounding me with every step, I can live with that. And I can stand the endless parade of unsolicited introductions from chicas every 30 secs when all I want is to sip my drink and survey the sea of chicas in front of me.

What I can't stand is the chica who won't fucking go away. I was sitting at the Merengue waiting for a friend when some chica comes and stares at me all serious and evil, no smile, no nothing but this weirdly intense asnd creepy look. I kindly told her no, but she just kept staring. After progressively terse attempts I finally started to get annoyed and told her to get the fuck away from me, at which point she made up some bullshit about how she was free to just stand there between me and the seat next to me (and stare at me like a crazy person). I mean really, has this approach ever worked?

I ended up paying my tab and leaving my drink unfinished. I think I might be finally getting a little tired of Sosua, and the Haitians in particular. I am going to get into trouble if I give in to my urge to start angrily telling them all to go fuck themselves.

Another thing I noticed which bothered me alot was the amount of kids running around begging for money. There were times I was having a drink at some bar and as soon as I received my change for the bill I was getting tapped on my back by some kid begging. One day I let it get to me and told them rudely go away, gets old when it happens several times a day. The kids then started taunting and flipping me off, so I just had to go before one of them decided to take a step further and do something dumb. Let me not even get started on the haitian souvenir shops located on the way to the laundry lady, I just asked a NG girl I knew from my past trips to drop off and pick up my laundry for me.

The best way I was able to get rid of persistent women in Sosua was to persistently offer them 500 pesos for the deed, which seemed to turn them off quicker than throwing sand in their vagina.

How do you guys deal with chicas that come up to you completely unsolicited and refuse to go away...The only true "puta repellent" that I know of is another woman.

Nevertheless, if I'm by myself in Boca Chica or Sosua having a drink, and some biatch tries to move on me, I politely indicate with my head and/or hand that this ain't happening. If the biatch ignores my gestures and sits down anyway, I maintain my ground, politely ignore her, and get back to the business of chica hunting. It's her country, it's her town, and this is her business. She's just trying to make a living. If she has any sense, eventually, she will get up and look for a sucker somewhere else. I don't say a word to them (perhaps a polite chuckle), but I don't lose my cool.

Nevertheless, if the biatch put her hands on me, affectionately or otherwise, I have to believe that she either has no sense or thinks that I am weak or stupid. That's when my polite smirks and gestures become evil and ugly, like I could crack my Presidente bottle over their fucking head.

Travelling out of the country for the 3rd time thanks.

Without spanish Santo Domingo must be hard. I would recommend you try out Sosua for a few days. In Sosua you don't need any Spanish to get by, and everything you need is conveniently easy to find. I usually get tired of it after 3 days there because I tend to find more variety and beauty in the Capital. I will most likely be going back for a week in October as well, but I am not going to Sosua in this next trip.

How do you guys deal with chicas that come up to you completely unsolicited and refuse to go away?2JThere's a lot to be said for basing yourself around one or two home bars. They get to know you and will look out for you.

At the two bars I frequent you will eventually see all available chicas in town anyway, so you don't miss a thing.

Tomas, the manager at the corner bar has it down to a fine art. He reads body language and if you don't look interested he tells 'em to move on, they're not buying drinks anyway.

Sometimes, he gets a little too zealous cause he knows I'm waiting for my chica, who he knows and likes even though she treats him like shit sometimes. A couple of fine young chicas will come up smiling, asking for cigarettes etc, and before I can fantasize about a threesome, he's there protecting me, and hustling them out.

Hey Tomas, it's ok, I'll buy 'em a drink, and hope my chica shows up late.

She arrives with mock outrage, and I tell her I thought they were her "cousins". We all laugh cause she know I won't game from our family bar. Why spoil a good thing?

Early on, if I knew my chica was going home to bambina, laundry etc, I used to make eye contact with a potential, on my way to el banios, and indicate she should hang around awhile. Thought I was being smart.

Don't know how, but everybody, including my chica, seemed to know what I was up to, and those knowing smiles from my chica and the barristas, kept me from wandering.

There's so many other opportunities in Sosua, so its never a problem.

I agree with you 100%. I think most of us get lost in the thought of getting value and forget that the main thing is to find that girl who really turns you on after the deed is done. When you are planning to see her again you know you did well in your choice. The best ones are the ones who when you are home and you are making plans to return and you call her to see if she is still in the area.

There are some nutty chicas in Sosua.

I used to play the video game "Doom" and on the bottom part of the screen was the main character's face, the guy was always looking side to side (looking for some monster to pop out) raising his eyebrows with a mean face. Sometimes that is how I try to have my face in certain places in Dom Rep, sort of a mean face, even though I am laughing to myself inside. It's like poker, you can't give certain chicas even the slightest opening for them to think they can approach you.

Some of the chicas are crazy and it will not matter what you say. I have said in the past: "Esperando por mi novia, ella es en el baño" = I am waiting for my girlfriend, who is in the bathroom. My wingman is a little more rude, he says "Tu no eres mi tipo, adios" = You are not my type, goodbye.

Ok guys, I will be leaving shortly and while I am preparing my final report I had an idea that might be fun.

I am going to leave the cellphone I bought with Wilfred (the manager at New Garden) with some credits and phone numbers of chicas I put on my A-list. Anyone who wants it just ask Wilfred. Use the phone, add your own chicas to it if you like, and then leave it with Wilfred when you leave for the next guy coming in.

We shall call it 'The Monger Phone' and pass it from one generation of newbies to the next in a self-sustaining cycle of renewal.

Now on the phone there are some good numbers (I go for the small flacitas, so YMMV):

- Paola hangs at the NG and has hands down the best personality. She gives a great massage and also good BBBJ. She runs around with a Betty Boop bag and while she is a vet she is fun to hang with and wants to please you.

- Claribel is my local Thandie Newton look alike and is analogous to a Thai Spinner. She is muy carinosa, hangs out at Merengue, and personally is my ATF.

- I reported on Marlin in my first report and is pretty kinky and very fun. She has no problem doing threesomes or even massaging your prostate if you're into ass play.

Take it and run, then pass the baton, my brothers.

If you do NOT like the Haitianas ... better not to go if its not your style.
Excellent advice! Spend your holidays in Santiago, Santo Domingo, or maybe Colombia or elsewhere abroad and leave the haitianas in Sosúa to those of us who appreciate them.

Cheaper, better service, better educated on the average (many of them speak three languages just for starters), more appreciative, less demanding, and physically fitter. Looks are a matter of personal preference but I ain't complaining.

I look forward to Sosúa being 100% haitianas. The way things are going I may not have long to wait.

Haitan women are very unique as someone stated. But don't forget that hidden cultural dynamic.

As a non Haitian, appeciate the good qualities because if you fuck them over it's hell to pay.

That hidden dynamic is the unknown. The super natural. The mystical knowledge.

It's there but it's not displayed outwardly.

An older Haitian lady told me"if you go in the water you're going to get wet"

I'm not trying to take up space here. But I will elaborate further in my forum next week.

There is not, however, a country that has any sort of useful tourism infrastructure at present right next door. I will just add that during my visit to Sosua a couple of months after the earthquake, 3 of the 4 best chicas that I went with were Haitianas.

I was recently in Haïti on non-mongering business. I was lucky to find a small hotel room at US$110 with no hot water and aircon that had only two settings - "off" or "tornado", and switching between them was accompanied by an impressive display of sparks and burning rubber. The breakfast menu was the previous night's spaghetti served cold.

So why should I want to go there again to monger* when, as members have just posted, there are more haitianas than I can handle just down the road in Sosúa, and as many as I can handle on my doorstep here in Puerto Plata?

Sitting at Dominican Billy's new cafe on the Malecon I have had four fresh haitianas straight out of Haïti fall into my lap in two days. Talk about shooting fish in a barrel! A pair of them had never even heard of Sosúa.

But two months after they find their way there they will have learned to lie, cheat and steal as competently as any dominicana, so you have to catch them while still fresh.

Instead of complaining about the new intake, members should be complaining about the dominicanized veterans.

*But I do intend to support BadBear's new venture as soon as my funds and schedule permit, not so much to gain a mongering advantage as for my more general cultural education.

I had exactly that experience at Merengue the couple of times I tried. I never even made it up to the disco. Sooner or later I will try it. You definitely have to learn to say no to buying drinks or even paying polite attention to chicas you are not interested in (which is most of them in Merengue). This place is a good illustration of Helpman's Tigres. Gazelles are very rare here. The last time I tried the intensity of the charges by the tigres was increasing and one was standing there arguing with me about why I didn't want her to sit with me. There was a haitiana spinner about 20 feet away sitting by herself quietly wearing what looked to me kind of like a kids formal dress with ruffles (she was 24). I hadn't even looked at her much but I was aware of her and thinking about going over there. She wouldn't even look me in the eye. As the Tigre got really irritating I answered her questions about why I didn't want her to sit with me by saying my novia is here. She said "What?". I said yeah, that's her right there, pointing to the haitiana who had a deer in the headlights look as I was pointing at her and gesturing for her to come over to me.

The closer she got the cuter she looked and the happier I was with the whole impulse. The tigre was insisting that that was not my novia. The haitiana gazelle was denying she was my novia and I was suddenly relaxed and enjoying the fact that I was acting as crazy as the tigre and I had her confused- and that put me back in control.

I found the haitiana cute and charming in her first responses. She got over her initial shock quickly. She turned out to be a novia GFE experience in fact and I was with her for two weeks. She was literally trying it for the first time and had only been there for twenty minutes or so when I called her over and insisted she was my novia. I ended up taking her home and treating and paying her very well. Days later she viewed it as a sort of mystical experience and me as supernaturally sent to her.

LOL. Several haitianas have told me "God sent you to me", usually when I pay them or give them presents. It is such a strange thing to say, especially when I have just had my dick up their ass, that I think it must be some sort of traditional Haitian saying after making a new friend or completing a satisfactory deal with a stranger.

Dadycool, I see that you are from Montreal. LOL, and I thought I had found Mecca when I first stumbled on Montreal 5 years ago. You mean I can have a hot Quebec girl for $130 USD, and because there is no cloak and dagger hassle, it is as easy as calling up for food delivery? I couldn't believe it in contrast with the U.S. where I don't play due to frustration with the insanity.

Anyhow, it would appear that you had a great time down in Sosua. What are the pros and cons? I do know that in Montreal, the girls tend to stick around, so they want to have a good reputation, so if you just do a bit of digging, you'll know how the girl will look and perform before even meeting her. I don't suppose that is the case in Sosua with maybe the exception of the La Passion girls. Knowing the difference, would you go back again?

I'm still in DR at the moment and I've just spent lots of time with the sweety I met on the first night. We spent the night chillin' by the pool with other friends, then went to the room and had a good night sleed just hugging and kissing (no banging!) cause I just wanted so much for now. Went down to the restaurant after a shower for breakfast, later she left to get her 2 year old kid that I wanted to see (beautiful boy with his mother's eyes). I give her 1000 pesos to teach me spanish and stay with me all day and night and add 500 if we get into FS. I'm really getting all the best that life can offer and I'm enjoying every damn minute of it GEEEEEEZZZZZ. This is way more than GFE that I experience in Montreal. I have to to say that I'm lucky enough to have met many good fellow mongers from other forums that I feel safe with. They are being very caring and we watch each others backs. Plenty of good people around in my hotel and other hotels close by. Big Mike21 got a few of out to Puerto Plata for a tour and we had a hell of a good time. Party last night in Classicos for Buck's birthday that I just saw pictures of! Looks like it was really something but I could'nt go cause I had only cheap stuff to wear (all of my stuff was at the cleaners and was'nt back yet) and it would of offended my chica to be seen at such a classy place with a poorly dressed gringo. I respect that and understand her. She told me that she did'nt want the other chicas to laugh at me!

I'm going to a pool party at the Seabreeze this afterrnoon and it will have a bikini contest, free booze and food. Hey! Another shitty day in heaven!

Talk to you later.

LOL. Several haitianas have told me "God sent you to me", usually when I pay them or give them presents. It is such a strange thing to say, especially when I have just had my dick up their ass, that I think it must be some sort of traditional Haitian saying after making a new friend or completing a satisfactory deal with a stranger. They could mean as punishment.

Take it and run, then pass the baton, my brothers.A blast hanging with you over the past week bro. Hope your flight back wasn't too sad.

A couple of quick corrections on the chica names. Paola is actually "Perla" at the New Garden. Kind of a mother hen there with excellent pro massage skills. Lots of mileage at 31 with anything but a tight body, but very enthusiastic in the sack and willingly goes for her own pleasure. Both sessions with her have been very hot, at an average of 1200 pesos full service (though she didn't take a full pop en la boca as promised).

Claribel more frequently uses the name "Maria" when working, nice vet chica on the strip, usually out there trolling Latinos/Merengue by around 8pm, rarely goes upstairs to Classicos.

Marlin I think is actually spelled "Marlene". Slightly thick big booty chica with reddish/brown hair hanging around the New Garden presently. Fun, kinky and great personality.

I left the phone with Wilfred just before departing yesterday. For whoever picks it up: the voicemail code is 1234.

I couldn't have timed it any better. As I got to the airport my back went out on me and I barely managed to limp my way home... all that fucking finally caught up to me!

There was a haitiana spinner about 20 feet away sitting by herself quietly wearing what looked to me kind of like a kids formal dress with ruffles (she was 24)... I said yeah, that's her right there, pointing to the haitiana who had a deer in the headlights look as I was pointing at her and gesturing for her to come over to me... I was suddenly relaxed and enjoying the fact that I was acting as crazy as the tigre and I had her confused- and that put me back in control.

Days later she viewed it as a sort of mystical experience and me as supernaturally sent to her.Good post, you found a Gem, nice.

I hope you guys are looking at my lastest post where the monger special prices are very affordable. If you guy a ticket from FLL on Spirit it is almost a weekend affordable trip. I have ventured into the DR many times in the last 30 years and believe me even the Dominicans were easier to deal with here in Haiti. That was until some butthole decided to turn the Dominican houses into DR style houses and started charging the ridiculous prices that only the UN, NGOs, and help groups can afford with our tax money and donations. Before, you could go to the houses in Carrefoure and pick up a Dominican girl that was model material, take her back to your pad, show her a little Spanish TV, show her the kitchen, and then lay back and get fed like a king and screwed half to death before you would take her back and get another. And it would cost you maybe $20 for an all nighter or $50 for an all weeker. The Haitian girls change when they go to the DR and you guys need to take advantage while I am not too busy. When I start building the Mansion by the Sea, I will not have time to troll with you as much. Come on down
BB2000

I couldn't believe it in contrast with the U.S. where I don't play due to frustration with the insanity.....

I too stumbled onto the Canadian "escort" scene about that same time, spending a good amount of time in Niagara Falls and then Montreal. I had my first "sex tourist" experience when I was in Montreal for a week on business. Five girls in four nights and I thought I was living the high life. I spent a little more than $600 US with the exchange rate at the time. Now I look at how much farther that cash goes in the DR!

In the DR on that same amount of money I get AT LEAST 5 TLNs and 5 ST vs. 5 one hour stints in Montreal with the hope of "multiple shots on goal" if junior was up for it and the girl was agreeable. There is something to be said for the little French spinners I got in Montreal (I love spinners) but I can find spinners here in the DR and mix it up with different body types as well. If you like white meat, Canada is great, but I fell in love with the darker girls. I get off the same when I hear those little Frenchies talking French when I peg them as I do when I hear "AYE PAPPIE" from my little Spanish speaking Dominicans. And having the girls come to your door of the hotel on time like ordering delivered pizza is great, but the GFE in Canada is a far cry from the GFE I get here. The girls in Canada always have one eye on the cash and the other on the clock. Tick, tock,Tick, tock.

Now I save my money for a real sex holiday here in the DR.

If so, very nice and great job with the blog, very entertaining, informative and some very decent lookers among your photos. Personally with my limited free time over the next year Medellin CO has to be my preferred destination until that gets old (if it ever does...)..but maybe 2012 I will finally do Sosua especially if I can work another sabbatical.

I hope you have successfully laid down the law with the Haitian "wife" since your last blog post...

Ponderosa,

Thanks for the apples to apples comparison. I'm very glad to see that you are now having a better time in the DR. I did some quick mental calculations, and with a stay of one week, DR will work out to be a better vacation. In terms of total dollars spent, it will be about the same, but with the beach, the massage parlors, it will feel more like a vacation. The other thing with MTL is that since I have lived there, it no longer feels like a playground because I already know the city like the back of my hand and because at any moment, I could walk into someone I know. Then I'd have to explain why I'm there. Also, the winter is brutal. MTL will probably end up being a summer long weekend get away couple of times a year.

I don't have any particular allegiance to white girls. A hot girl is a hot girl. In fact, from some of the videos I have seen from La Passion girls, they are very attractive to me.

Great REPORT-THANKS.

Thanks! You pay the fee to the bar manger. The amount is determined by when you take the lady out. 3500 for TLN after 9:30pm?? and 2500 TLN after midnight midweek. I enjoyed the company of my ladies so I brought them breakfast and gave them a 500 tip.

I had the best results with a ‘take it or leave it’ pricing strategy. If the chica refused my price no big deal there were plenty of others around. If she excepted I knew she was happy with the amount and would provide decent services. Negotiating with a chica especially when she was all over me usually resulted in over paying for poor service.

However I was reading the blog of a monger who had a unique strategy. His philosophy was instead of using a time oriented pricing system use a performance oriented pricing system. “You think you are that good? I’ll pay you based on how many times you can make me cum. 500 pesos per leche.”

I’m not sure the 500 pesos per leche concept would work for me but a time/performance pricing system might work. I would consider offering 1500 pesos for TLN (maybe 2000 to the right chica) with an additional 500 pesos for each leche beyond the first. What do you guys think? Would it get the chicas to work harder or would they think I’m just another crazy gringo?

Try it. My impression in general is that the more you treat it as a negotiated transaction the more it will feel like one. I try to soften that aspect with a new chica by saying that I'm sure she is worth more but I can't afford anymore than x. To me the best sex is when she is trying to "turn you out" as a novio. The fact that you agreed to payment is your security that you don't owe her anything more.

Oakie,

Yeah, its on the corner of Pedro Cliante and Dr. Rosen.

As for your "negotiation strategy" thing is, there's no "road map" to negotiating. Sure, you'll get some good advice from the guys here, but the game depends so much on the personality of the monger, the chica, the current financial situation of both, and that thing hanging between your legs. If it comes to life by just talking to her, you should be willing to pay a little more because you at least you know you are halfway there.

A steak costs costs more than a big mac, but its always your choice.

You might even decide to invest a little time in "training" one up a little for repeat performances.

What's fun in Sosua is you can spend a whole week like some hollywood producer and his casting couch.

Enjoy the game, and don't be put off by one unsatisfying experience. The next one might blow you away.

They will give you a printed menu, just like a restaurant menu, listing the various services and prices for in-house and takeaway. The prices you pay to take out a chica depend on the time of day/night. If my memory is correct they start at around 5000 pesos if taken early in the day and drop to 2500 if taken at closing time. Guys who are clients of Passions may correct me on the actual prices, but you get the general idea.

The fee you pay in advance when you take the girl out includes her money and Passions' cut. There is no need to pay more but it is usual to give the girl her motoconcho fee home (or back to the bar) when she leaves. Many guys give a tip (say 500 pesos) if they are completely satisfied but it is not required or expected. Of course if the chica goes above and beyond the call of duty like complying with your unusual sexual practices (or cleaning your apartment and cooking you a nice dinner) then you should pay extra.

2500 + 4000 for the night? Gimme a break! It makes my eyes water to pay more than 1500 a night for any chica, which is why I don't patronise Passions, but they provide an excellent service for guys on short holidays with more money than time. Enjoy!

La Passion is too much like Mons Venus with full service now, not the little Blow Job shack in DR it used to be. Peter runs a tight ship and is probably dressing it up to sell one day.

Impossible to answer without knowing your ultimate destination and what you're going there for.
Puerto Plata and Sosua are on the north coast. Puerto Plata is the north coast airport.
Santo Domingo is on the south coast.
What are your plans?

Also how much would a taxi cost to get from the airport to SosuaThats a vague question Soul brother Brown. You have a few options when going to the Dr. You have Santiago, Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata. Santo doming is about 3.5 hour drive away from Sosua, Santiago is about an hour or so. If your main destination is Sosua, fly into Puerto Plata, but depending on your flight circumstances you could fly into Santiago and take the Bus or cab it to Sosua. The easiest option for you would be to fly into POP (Puerto Plata) and take a taxi to Sosua. I normally rent a car when I go But I can remember a guy taking me from Pop to Sosua for 500 pesos.

Since this is the Sosua thread and thats the city I assume you are talking about, Flying into Puerto Plata (pop) is the easiest way to get their by far, some of my Ft Lauderdale guys or NYC guys fly into Santiago and then pay $60-$80 for a Taxi.. from POP you pay $25 for a 4 mile ridiculously short ride from La Union, If I see a regular I can usually get away with $20, try to find some guys going to the same hotel and split a cab if applicable.

Yesterday I took a bus, for a nice ride from Samana to POP, for 300 pesos. Five hours, for a total of about $11 bucks. Make sure you ask a couple of drivers their price before getting in the taxi.

I used to like La Passion better a few years ago. I went there quite recently and couldn't stand the garish halloween colors decor and uniforms for the chicas and the loud pounding music. Difficult to talk to the girls with that going on.

Once it was charming, now it seems sleazy. I had one drink and left. I have had good times there in the past and they are probably still to be had if you get the right girl. I just don't care for the ambience now.

Here's my take on trying to answer the question about how much you should pay for a chica. How about this? It came to me in a dream.

Think of it as getting something to eat. Its just like food, So:

How hungry are you?

When was the last time you ate?

What do you feel like eating?

Take out, take home, or eat in?

Are you on a diet?

Check the menu, the good stuff is pricier.

How much money do you have?

Do you want to be eating a little all day, or splurge at dinner time?

You bored with the usual, want something different?

Is the kitchen clean, or don't you care?

Do they wipe off the spilled ketchup, before you sit down?

Will you need Pepto Bismol?

All these considerations determine what you pay and what you get. Same for chicas.

From POP to Sosua is a standard of $$25 for the 15 min ride. They expect a tip but its not necessary.

If you go down often, your taxi amigo will charge $20.

If your chica meets you at the airport, give her the $25 to pay the taxi and she'll be smiling all the way to town. :)

This effort seems calclated, political, and economic. If they eliminate the undocumented Haitians, there will be more money for those from RD. More RD chicas will arrive to work. The wages may rise. More money will be retained in the RD. Much less money will be sent to Haiti. Probably, less crime and agression. And of course, more votes for the establishment.

I'm heading over next friday with the posse', ill give you the 411 but in the past sousua and the government have made these types of (threats) promises where the girls who worked in the bars had to walk around with name tag photo IDS when leaving work after hours and were scared to be on the streets after closing for fear of being picked up by the POLITUR. I have a feeling that this might be some sort of similar project all under the guise of rounding up the many illegal haitianas but who knows. The other side of me says that this might be all hyperbole and when I get there it will just be more of the same ole hyjinxs.. lol

I assume you are talking about deporting all undocumented Haitians (not just putas) since you say that "less money will be sent to Haïti" and the amount sent back by putas is a tiny percentage of all the remittances (less than 1%?).

That will not happen since it suits the rich and powerful to have a source of (almost) slave labor working hard for a pittance. As you yourself say "wages may rise". This is not what employers want.

And the DR government already has every legal right to deport undocumented and illegal immigrants (which they do from time to time anyway), so why would they need a new initiative to justify it?

And even if they did deport them, the border guards would soon let them back in. It is a profitable racket for them.

If were talking about hard labor(construction), the Haitians are more efficient and the Dominicans' don't want to work at those wage's. Yes employer's in this sector benefit.

If were talking about "tricking in Sosua" the above paragraph does not apply. Haitiana's and Dominican'a can compete equally providing the same service at roughly the same price's. It only effect's the rich and powerful Dominican's when the Haitian's get superior number's and the Dominicana's can't compete. When this happen's there is less tourism dollar's going into the Dominican economy and more being sent to Haiti.

I don't know about a new Haitian initiative. But over the last few month's(since the earthquake) the Dominican govt has toned down it's contempt for Haiti as the world watches under the humanitarian cover.

Also sorry about the closing Of "The New Fod" i know you have a sense of humor?

It did indeed happen, but it was nothing more than the usual politur "money grab" - cash = release. If you think that any of these hookers is getting deported, you're kidding yourself...

What do they do with the influx of new Haitian's?

What economic affect will this have on Dominican's?

Will Haitian's be deported?

Please redirect replies to the" Mr. Gogo thread" where everyone can discuss this while keeping the Sosua thread reserved for Sosua.

I think it may be a bit more than a money grab. There's some politics involved with the new regime, and politics is ALWAYS about money. I have been informed that it was the National Police, so a bit more serious.

Bar Central was not allowing entry to Haitians (however they knew... profiling?) without proper ID and Visa.

I will have a LOT more info in a couple days, my regular girl is Haitiana, and last time I was there her visa had expired about 6 months prior. She hasn't been out a night since last Saturday, but said as long as she's with me it will be fine... (who knows?).

Part of the historical problem there is that when there are fewer and fewer gringos (and that's a sad sad fact), there are too many girls. The girls fight amongst themselves, and any of you that have seen, IMO the Haitianas are much more violent, especially with the broken bottle attacks.

Then, as evidenced 4 weeks ago, I saw very few of the Dominicanos (yes, the chulos) that hang out at Flow and such with nice haircuts, new shoes and clothes, etc. It was obvious when the money is slow to come in, the chicas bail on everyone but themselves and their kids. There have been a few serious violent events in Charamicos... more than normal recently.

In Cliff Notes: I think (IMO) this is a supply and demand issue that is being "corrected". It makes a hell of a lot more sense to "cleanse" the streets of undocumented working girls than ridding it of the Legal ones and ones that don't cause problems.

Take it for what it's worth, if history is any predictor, all the girls that BEHAVE properly will be allowed to stay. It might cost them pesos or a bit of pleasuring, but doubt THE GOOD ONES will be sent home.

When there is a serious crime the Politur, from what I have seen, pass the investigation over to the National Police.

I have not seen the Politur out very late at night, usually the very late at night patrols, are done by the National Police.

From what I saw, when I was detained in the small Sosua police station, next door to the Supermarket, many of the National Police guys were wearing civilian clothes.

Hello to all. I just walked in the door after a great week in Sosua! I read a couple of posts about the police crackdown and thought I would comment. Yes there is a crackdown going on. It's not an all out "raid", but it is evident. That being said, there was no problem finding talent. The police are out at night, but are pretty much stationary. Any girl walking the strip alone at night is a target. I spent most of the week with my Haitian "girlfriend", and she told me the deal. If a girl walks alone past the police she could be picked up. They are taken to the station and have to pay a 600 peso fine. After the fine they are free to go. Doesn't matter if they have a passport and visa or not. If the girl is walking with male company she is left alone. Period. The police don't enter the bars at all. MANY times I was walking with my girl, and another girl asked if she could walk with us. Sometimes it was one girl, other times three or four. We walked past the police and they didn't even give us a glance! Once inside a bar, the girl is free to work her trade. The motoconcho's are being pulled over left and right. The helmet law is being enforced. There was plenty of talent, and if I wasn't told what was going on, I wouldn't have even noticed. Most nights were actually very busy, and the police didn't detract from my week at all. I also have to give high marks to The Hotel Terra Linda. That is where I stayed, and it was fabulous. If you stay for 6 days or more, the rate is $60 per night. $69 for less than 6 days. Breakfast was included, and it was a very good breakfast at that! The pool was maintained very well, and the place was spotless! No problem bringing girls back. They have a rule about one girl per guy, but that is negotiable, like everything else down in the D.R. Slip the night guard a $200 peso "propina", and your good to go. The girl just has to be out by 6 a.m. Every time I saw him, he smiled, and asked if I was going to have extra company that night! He really seems to enjoy the rule, and the tip that it brings him each night! hahaha! Everyone who worked there was fabulous. The bartender by the pool in the afternoon was really great, and worked his ass of to please me. The drinks were VERY reasonable, and STRONG!! A couple of girls were let in in the afternoon, and they were more than happy to jump in the pool, and have a little "fun". I was also told that if you stop by, and buy a couple of beers, you can use the pool for free! The pool is very big, clean, and new. Stop by and check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Also just got back from a week in Sosua. The Politur grabbed girls almost every night and not just Haitanas. Dominicanas without cedulas also went to jail and had to pay the 600P fine. As with any action like this, there was some harassment or so the chicas reported. One of my regulars from POP had me meet her at the Parada and walk her to NG. There were two Politur who came by the NG just before the bar closed at 11 pm on the 2-3 nights when I was hanging there. Had a few slow nights in the discos and lots of new faces. Many of the regulars were missing. Not near the talent that I saw on my last visit over Memorial Day.

No computer, I don't recall seeing a typewriter, I don't recall seeing any supplies (no pens or paper).

The holding cells were upstairs, up a set of stairs that have no guardrails. The morning I was there, they released the people who were detained the night before, around 8am. No paperwork, personal property was thrown on the one desk and the people who were getting released just grabbed their stuff.

This is a beautiful country. The farms and fields, tropical hardwoods, hills, mountains, some of the most beautiful country of the DR. I would suggest a guagua or small bus to medium sized bus. You might get lucky and get a front seat. Just ask a motorbike driver to leave you at the bus stop. Once you get on the Peninsula to Samana, there is a lot of road construction. From POP, it is a 5 hour ride.

When I drove a few years ago the roads were 90% good, a few places with some potholes, but overall the roads were good.

Samana is nice, there is Las Terrenas, Limon Falls, Playa Rincon.

A good pair of sunglasses with polarized lenses can cut down on the glare and improve visibility while driving, when it is very sunny.

You will drive through some towns, so drive slower when going through the towns. The road when I drove had very little traffic.

Something I always think about bringing with me, but I always forget is a package of Windex wipes (glass cleaner) for the rental car. Driving at night in Dom Rep with a dirty windshield, the oncoming traffic headlights glare is worse when a windshield has smudge on it. You can also use the windex wipes to clean the wiper blades. Lots of dust in DR, so the car and the glass will get dirty fairly quickly.

Been there done that a couple times. Easy going the whole way.
Rio San Juan is nice with Laguna Gri Gri and Playa Caleton. Good places to eat. Nice basic hotel on the water.
Gaspar Hernandez has a good car wash and a disco.
Las Terrenas has a small strip and good beaches outside of town.
Samana is a little too quiet to my mind's eye. But I had some friends who really enjoyed the limited night life.

I have been here a couple days, and I can't really say that I love it or hate it. OK, to be 100% honest, I alternate between loving it and hating it. Having the girls "Hola" me as I walk past their bars is certainly an experience that never happens back in the States, and when I am able to put my mind on island time, I can prop myself up against an outdoor bar over a Presidente while the afternoon lazily crawls by me. This is not something I can bring myself to do back in the States; there are simply too many things to be done. With that said, Sosua clearly is a small town in a developing nation, and the farther I got from the beach area, the more obvious that point is made with the vacant lots strew with garbage, the guards with shotguns, the stray dogs, and little kids pestering you for change, etc. Take it with a grain of salt because I haven't been globetrotting in the last 15 years, so if these kinds of things don't jar you, then you'll have a great time. I see plenty of expats and frequent visitors seeming quite at home here.

La Passion is really nice. The girls are all solid 7 to 9s, and some of the girls are even more amazing in person, and they are exactly what I'm into. They have features that aren't African, but they all have dark, smooth skin. The one hour all inclusive was cheap by North American standards, but I know that I overpaid by Sosua standards. I was too tire to negotiate, so for ease of use, I got what I needed, but the service was far below average of anything I have gotten in the past few years. The BJ was a short, and then the girl hopped right to FS and proceeded to bang me out in 5 minutes. After a long day, I wasn't into prolonging the session into a marathon either, so I didn't complain. I'd like to see if the quality of the sessions improve with me more rested.

Unlike the first time when I visited Montreal or Toronto, I did not say to myself in the first day that I'll definitely be back because there isn't a world-class city to go along with the action. If I do come back, I'd like to spend half of my vacation in an all inclusive resort being surrounded by beautiful if somewhat sterile scenery after I have gotten my fill of the action of course.

Thanks for the board for letting me know the lay of the land before I arrived.

Greetings:

Will be heading back to the DR soon. Would appreciate current update on the following:

What is the current market rate for ST and TLN?

What is the street rate on DRP for US$?

Have not booked trip yet, have notced on travel review sites reviews of Casa Marina with complaints about professional girls on site. Especialaly on weekneds when hotel is open to locals. Has the CM become guest friendly? What happens on weekends with locals at the hotel?

Is Sosua by the Sea guest friendly these days? If not, then:

What hotels are now recommended?

Thanks.

Hi,

I am planning to spend about 4-6 weeks, middle of January.
Because I need to work on the internet first of all, I consider an an appartment more apppropiate compared to a hotel room.
Can anybody recommend an agency ?
And how much $ for cost of living for a month, excluding fun ?
I want a gym close by, and need fast internet.
Thanx in advance.

Thanks.I've been here just over a month now, and I think it's fair to say that with the current lack of tourism, there's been something of a "market adjustment" regarding prices. Very strong buyer's market at present - it's been easy to pull girls out of Classicos for 1000 pesos short time with very little negotiation required. 1500-2000 is common for TLN, though I've gotten as low as 1000 from a few haitian girls.

Exchange rate is still good - just got 36.9 from the bank today. The D.R. remains very economical compared to Colombia or Brazil, where the dollar is getting killed.

To the best of my knowledge, Casa Marina is still not a "monger-friendly" hotel. No knowledge of Sosua By the Sea. But there's a host of other options, including the popular "ground zero" New Garden, Terra Linda just up the street, Sea Breeze, Europa, Don Antonio, etc., all of which are chica friendly.

Erasmus I can help answer a couple of your questions, but not all. My group's rule of thumb for ST and TLN is DOP1500 ST and DOP2500 TLN standard aka MAX. Anything else, and I feel like you're fuxing the game up. For those I GOT TO have, I go up to those prices, and else wise, if the vibe/energy is really good (vibe/energy is always requisite. Learned that the hard way after my 1st trip) but she's more like a 7 than a 9 appearance-wise, I'll low ball and see if she accepts. Street exchange rate, while I do not know it at this moment, I've never found to be more than a peso or two different from the rate you might find on google "X USD to DOP" searches and such. Airport exchange and other thieving spots are different, though.

Regarding lodging, I used to stay at Residencial Hispaniola (sorta upscale villas, but affordable) as 1st choice, but in recently speaking to the manager there, I learned they've become far-less chica friendly than in previous trips. "I don't want to see them! " was one of her quotes from our conversation in August. I've heard many good things about Terra Linda, so I'm giving that a shot here soon. Will report back in a few weeks.

Can anybody recommend an agency?

And how much $ for cost of living for a month, excluding fun?

I want a gym close by, and need fast internet.

Thanks in advance. If you need a reliable as opposed to just fast Internet connection, then the hotel wireless probably isn't going to do it for you. I was testing some program I was writing that required Internet access, and for a good two hours, I couldn't get on. I'm not sure if it was the wireless or the fact that I typed in the wrong password, but for work, I wouldn't count on the hotel wireless.

I'll be in town this weekend and would love to watch the UFC matches on pay-per-view. Any chance a bar in Sosua or Puerto Plata will have it?

I've been here just over a month now, and I think it's fair to say that with the current lack of tourism, there's been something of a "market adjustment" regarding prices.

I live down here and I endorse all these remarks as "spot on".

The Dominican Peso shadows the US dollar so the exchange rate is never going to stray too far unless and until the DR Govt announces a major economic rethink. As they weren't hurt too badly directly by the recent recession (only indirectly with loss of tourism), and as the world economy is slowly on the mend, I don't foresee any major changes in the near future.

After being here for 1/2 a week, I am slowly adjusting to the stray dogs, the empty lots right next to the good-looking condos and homes, and the constant selling by the moto guys, the bar guys, and the food vendors. I'm even getting used to being ass grabbed by the girls, some of whom I wouldn't mind having private relations with save for the fact that negotiating in public still seems rather strange to me.

I ate some chicken grilled on an old oil drum BBQ and haven't worshipped at the porcelain altar as a result. Perhaps Tony Bourdain is right in that the street vendors don't stay in business long by poisoning their customers. Later today I'll try some of the delicious looking baked noodles and rice and beef from a vendor down the street.

I'm enjoying being able to go to a bar and drink a beer or two without calculating what percentage of my hourly wage those beers are costing me. Even with tips, the beers are only $1.50 to $2.00, so I can concentrate on BSing with the bar owners and fellow patrons or just chilling.

Today I'll be venturing to the beach in the late afternoon after a nap of course. My head is clearer than it has been in the past 4 months. I have written more code for my own business than I have in the past 4 weeks. Mistakes that I couldn't figure out for the last week got resolved in 10 minutes, and the new code I wrote are not full of problems. I guess not being constantly stressed out by the BS of work has ameliorating effects on one's mind, so this is why people take vacations! :)

Those are the good parts. The not so good parts has been the girls. The one super hot chick I pulled out of a well known bar was more interested in playing with my computer than playing with me. It was a strange experience. While I appreciated the half (distracted?) GFE and half PSE, the session left me feeling unfulfilled. I hope to get at least one wow session before the week is done.

To me that's the main NEGATIVE that I have about Sosua. Its a small town so everybody knows if your an out of towner and they have no problems begging you from sunrise to sundown. They bug the shit out of you cus they know you don't live there and that youll be leaving soon.

Just be firm with them and show no weakness. They can spot a sucker a mile away

They know that there fine so they want to charge more and if they've been in Sosua for a long time then your experience with her is going to suck.

I know its hard to negotiate a price all out in the street, it was difficult for me the first time, so instead find a female that you have chemistry with, don't ask about price.

Just go off of chemistry and instinct. In other words just pretend that your in a bar in your home town and your trying to find a female to take home. Find a vibe or connection with that honey. See if she's digging you. Body language can tell me a lot about a woman. We all want the finest woman we see but now you're the one being hunted so take your time. Your checking her attitude, her scent of perfume, her eyes and hips, just watching and seeing if she's moving to your rhythm or if her eyes is on you like urs is on her.

I know it may sound a little unorthodox but from my experience the best females I had was when I didn't say a word about money and vise-versa. I still paid them in the end so I figure out the going price rate for "newbies that don't speak no espanol rate" and go from there.

(BTW I believe the current newbie-no espanol rate is Daytime action usually be between 1500-2000 peso and night time is between 2000-2500 peso)

Coolie, good advice! I go out quite a few days a week back in the States to go Salsa dancing, and I know exactly what you mean. I can dance my butt off with the "wrong" girl and still have the dance end just in a friendly hug and a look that says, "Don't bother asking for my phone number." With the right girl, I can feel the crowd disappear, and it's just me, her, and the music, and when a Bachata comes on, she's there looking for me for a slow dance.

LOL, I should have adopted the same approach here. Instead, I took that hot chick out again thinking that the 2nd time is the charm. Nope, instead of making wild sex, she watched TV, ate my food, drank my beer, and fell asleep. She's in the other bed sleeping now. LOL, this is the TWE, Tired Wife Experience, about which I have always been dreaming. With North American pros, even if they don't find you attractive in the least bit, they'd still bang you out with a PSE and part way cordially. I have never had a TWE in my entire life. Let this be a lesson to other Sosua newbies to go with the girls who dig you, and if you must go with the hottest chick, then don't pick her from an establishment that demands payment up front at 10 PM.

I spent a few hours hanging out at CMP two weeks ago and liked it better than Passions. It is physically a better spot to have some drinks and play with the girls than Passions, esp. the new Passions. No hardselling, like you are sitting at a villa as opposed to the NY strip club style Passions.

The menu only had ST rates ($2500) and takeout from 9:00PM ($5000, ouch!).
The girls were on par with Passions as well.

I did not session with any of the girls, just played around with them and gave a small propina when I left.

I need some help , I was in Sosua a few years back and stayed at hotel Europa. I will be going back in February and want to know Should I stay at Europa or New Garden? Are both Female friendly? Cons / Pros?

Also we went to a place (Bar) that was like 20 minutes away from Europa that was in the middle of nowhere It was a Bar that was in the woods and looked like a bamboo tiki hut and in the back was some rooms for the girls to do their business. I want to visit that place again but dont know the name any help?

stayed at hotel europa, i know people have moved on to new garden, sea breeze etc etc, but the europa for me is "good enough" clean enough and huge rooms, ive been going there since 02' and diego who can get difficult from time to time has always given me a good rate and treated me well, the rest of my posse' stayed at sosua bay and the sea breeze. p.s. bring your own toilet paper, i'm serious.

i like to eat at ricky's which is right up the block from the hotel, the food is always good and fresh, not cheap though for comida tipico, rice, chicken, salad and a soda can cost you 280-350pesos($10) with small tip. then there are the usual good places, pj's, bologna pizza. choose your destinations carefully to avoid the shits. this can fuck up your whole trip.

hung out a lot at the beach, my friends working at the beach are in dire straights, it is very very slow and the people seem to be in desperation. you will be bombarded by every single type of vendor known to man, say yes or no aggressively or they will never leave. my friend says that the politur is harassing the girls that used to walk along the beach in abundance. bad move for the tourist trade.

real bright spot, cmp sosua is a real gem! the owner is from spain and a real nice guy! they created this place to offer competition for passions and i think they hit it spot on.. it is about 2 blocks before passions on the same side of the street. it is more like a resort with girls lounging around chairs and tables in all states of dress(around 20), rather than some kind of thai bar ala passions where all the girls wear the same outfits, are on the other side of the bar on which you just share a hand hold moment and really stare you down (so fake) like you are brad pitt and the last man on earth.. plus the owner of passions thinks hes a real tough guy and seems to rub me the wrong way. to each his own.

at cmp sosua the ladies are very friendly but not overly aggressive, now here"s the kicker, not one chica in there asked me for one peso or for anything not even for one beer, obviously this must have been something that was strictly enforced to the girls. so something happens when girls don"t ask me for drinks, i offer one to them! after having a beautiful girl sit on my lap for a long while i am also glad to give up some small amount of pesos for their time for which she is very much obliged.

last but not least, the pool party on saturday's never have i seen gringos have such a great time all in one place, plenty of naked women for all, good food, great pictures, good dj and not one gringo with attitude. just an all around good time with a wet t-shirt contest at the end to top it all off. i would like to post some pics but it would involve a lot of "face editing"

night life: start at rumba and flow, both have cheap large beers and good place to start off looking at any eye candy and free lancers walking by. next stop latinos down stairs, look at the eye candy, free lancers and watch the girls walk up the stairs(nice pantie shots lol) next? upstairs to classicos, always a selection of hell no's and some not bads and few hotties.

this is a buyers market guys with a 4 girls to 1 ration. i was able to negotiate tln with some of the higher end girls for 1500, plus 50 pesos for motoconcho. how was i able to do this you may ask? simple, i speak perfect spanish, i don't look bad, dress well, pretty good shape now, have gift of gab(most important) and i tell them that "i pay 1500, look around and if either if us don't find anything we go together. i tell you 9 times out of 10 i was going home with the girl. all you mongers out there paying 2500-3500 are just fucking shit up for everybody else, don't give a shit or are weekend warriors who just want to [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) away their money. tighten up your negotiating skills son and don't be afraid to walk.

then for you night owls hit the casino just up the street open til like 7am, all the left over gringos and ladies will end up there for a last chance gig.

final thoughts, many less haitans around imo, less street walkers, much much more police and politur presence. good or bad? i'm not sure yet. got shaken down though. police pulled me over on my scooter for not wearing my helmet, they were on pedro clisante and not on the main road above were they usually hang out. i tried everything.. "no speakey spanish, i know the police sergeant, i'm a tourist who has been coming down for 8 years", blah blah blah, the guy wouldn't budge he wanted to be greased no matter what. he threatened to confirep001e my moto. so while filling out the "official" paper work i asked him what was the process he said that i needed to go to some bank and wait in line and pay this shit then return to the police station with the paid receipt. i then told him "how about i just give it to you and you drop the money off" he said "ok" i gave him the money and the "official infraction" went into a rain puddle in the water and my 1000 pesos went into his pocket.

if they start hassling tourists as a norm over there to get greased for petty bullshit i will not be returning for this was my first run in with the law in 8 years. this practice will only hurt the tourism business in the end. you can't imagine how many poor motoconch drivers are so upset with the policia and transito there.

then for you night owls hit the casino just up the street open til like 7am, all the left over gringos and ladies will end up there for a last chance gig.

final thoughts, many less haitans around imo, less street walkers, much much more police and politur presence. good or bad? i'm not sure yet. got shaken down though. police pulled me over on my scooter for not wearing my helmet, they were on pedro clisante and not on the main road above were they usually hang out. i tried everything.. "no speakey spanish, i know the police sergeant, i'm a tourist who has been coming down for 8 years", blah blah blah, the guy wouldn't budge he wanted to be greased no matter what. he threatened to confirep001e my moto. so while filling out the "official" paper work i asked him what was the process he said that i needed to go to some bank and wait in line and pay this shit then return to the police station with the paid receipt. i then told him "how about i just give it to you and you drop the money off" he said "ok" i gave him the money and the "official infraction" went into a rain puddle in the water and my 1000 pesos went into his pocket.

if they start hassling tourists as a norm over there to get greased for petty bullshit i will not be returning for this was my first run in with the law in 8 years. this practice will only hurt the tourism business in the end. you can't imagine how many poor motoconch drivers are so upset with the policia and transito there.great report and excellent take on the scene at present. agree that cmp offers a much-needed alternative to passions, and am anxious to check out the pool party tomorrow. also, there's absolutely no reason to pay more than 1500 for anything in the current buyer's market. overall a great value scene, though i could sure do without a lot of the street urchins begging for money constantly.

Im sure MHO knows this but was just passing along the info for anybody who might think they would want to partake.Agree, $5000 is too high for me as I have a few trips under my belt. The price is probably on par with Passions (9:00PM until ?) but still too high, maybe on principle alone.

As MiamiHeatLuver said, it is a really nice relaxing spot. I hope they get some business or else the girls will go and it will become another failed business in Sosua.

I really have no problem with a reasonable salida because if I want it, then I should have it. There was 2 menus, one with a $1000 peso salida but I was told that was an error and the only salida was the $5000 (ouch again).

Hopefully, they will work on the salida a bit and lower or pro-rate it a bit. Lower the price to get more business, sell more drinks etc.

Yes, I know that I can go to Classicos and get an independent and say "Fuck the sailda" but it is always good to have some alternate palces to go, switch it up a bit.

I want to visit that place again but dont know the name any help?New Garden or Terra Linda.

p.s. Ive seen almost all of the chicks from CMP at classicos in the wee hours were as i've seen some Passions girls there as well, just in smaller numbers at Classicos as well.. There you can save on the multa(salida).

There you can save on the multa(salida). For me, the value of the girl drops exponentially with the time of night and the number of drinks that I have had. Coming back to the hotel at 3:30 and struggling to bust one (I have done this many times) is not really a TLN in my book.

Some of my best nights in Sosua have been,

1. Having my nightly chica prearranged and arriving early, mess around, pool or dinner, mess around, TV/drinks/food, mess around, good night sleep, morning session, breakfast and then "adios mi amor".

2. Going on a bar crawl and spending time with my friends, the girls become secondary at this point and sometimes I will come back alone just to get some sleep.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I would not sweat a reasonable salida. Not everything should come down to worrying about $500-1000 pesos, you should aim to have the best time possible when you are on vacation.

Who says that?

Any report I have read on this or other boards from sensible posters says that it is business much as usual. Certainly on my last two visits to Sosúa this month there have been as many chicas as ever.

There are longer term issues to do with the economy and fall off in tourists which may be affecting the number and quality of chicas. Long-time visitors report that quality "semi-putas" are being driven off the scene by more hard-core or desperate chicas but this is nothing to do with the reported purge. (If anything, the "purge" might help to reverse that trend).

I think there is some truth in what they say but it is also that after five or so years of visits the excitement wears off and guys get more picky. They compare the scene today with a selective pick in their memories from the best over several years. We all do this whether talking about our favorite music, sports players, restaurants, or whatever. It is how the "old days were best" syndrome comes about.

A lot of those guys are now going to Colombia instead. I have no doubt that in five years they will be saying "Colombia is not what it was" and this will be partly true because increased demand pushes up prices and an influx of weekend warriors who speak no Spanish and don't know how to behave will harden the chicas as it has done in Sosúa. But also it will be the selective memories at work.

Very well put, ive been going to Colombia as well since 2005 and literally seen prices DOUBLE in Medellin and TRIPLE in Cartagena so ive been going to other cities through connecting flights and keep my mouth SHUT, lol

Hey Guys,

I am heading to Sosua with a couple friends and we are thinking of renting this place http://www.1villacalifornia.com which I know several members have stayed at. The question I have is this in a gated community or is it available to some thieves to rob the place?

Thanks

actually there is a good lesson here. she is playing the "i'm a good girl role" but everyone must understand that a "good girl" would not go anywhere near sosua. sosua is about money and sex period, don't get it twisted fellas.

interesting story.

once a wingman and i went to santiago to see my regular(good girl) and her friend. i gave my wingman the prep talk. we are staying in cabarette not sosua. i also told him no matter what don't say sosua.

well were sitting at the table with the family and he asks me what time classicos closes? i ignore him but the girls brother asks him"classicos in sosua"? he said "yeah". when sosua was mentioned everyone stopped eating and looked at me. i continued eating as i felt everyone staring. then my girl asks my boy if we were staying in cabarette. he said yes with me. then she asks what hotel? my boy looked at me as i ate(for help) then said newgarden in cabarette. her brother says newgarden is in sosua. i'm thinking"this motherfucker just killed me" so now i have to throw his dumb ass under the bus. i said i'm in cabarette and he is staying in sosua. we finish eating and my girl says i'm going home with you. i say i'm tired and just want to sleep and rest. needless to say she never called me and i never called her again. as me and my boy drive to classicos i ask"do you remember the gameplan" he gave me the fuck them hoes speech and i let it go.many girls from santiago say they are good, or they seem good, got had by some up there. diana and her friend jael frequently visit sosua and got taken by them. i was with diana and her friend kept wanting to, do me , meanwhile i see jael in sosua and passed on being good to her. many of girls come semi pro down to sosua for extra loot, be ware if you run into the so called "good girl"

That house is around the corner from Art Tarlow's home in Playa Chiquita. To answer your question, it is not in a "gated" community, most larger villas there are individually walled in, in the case of Mister Tarlow, someone had the keys.

My sept. 2010 trip. Banged some new faces never seen before. Repeated with 3 chicas from last year. Very few tourists compared to other years. Lapassions used to be the bomb, Now, the new lapassions is dead to me. Not worth my time. There's a Men's Club with the same type pricing as Lapassion, not worth my time. With more experience plus spanish, I could get short time from 500. 1000rd. I pay no more than mil peso. The women from other latin countries may be better, but Sosua, It's closer and cheaper for me. Tourist police seem to harass the chicas walking the streets, so they have to walk with a man or run into the bars, club. Cannot tell how long Sosua is to survive with the Tourist police harassing the chicas. I had mucho fun mixed in with relaxation. I go for the chicas in the range of 5, 6, 7, 8. For me, My age preference is 25 and up. Don't like them any younger. Just when I think I need a day or night of rest, I end up banging another one. Is it just me? But El Flow always seem to have some fight incident every time I visit. Another trip filled with good memories.

Duke. If they are visiting Sosua they are hoes. There is no such thing as a good Santiago girl that comes to Sosua except with here family during semana Santos. If she is from Santiago and she is in Sosua she is looking for some money.

The theme of this report is Accountability. I was on my 5th trip to Sosua and this was my first visit since spending 8 weeks in Sosua 2 years ago.

Accountability (as defined by Miriam-Webster online): an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one's actions.

This is what it is all about.

Hotel Don Andres: Stayed here 3 nights for $40/night. Very basic accomodations but Bert and Henrik are friendly and reliable. They have some nice 2 room apartments that have more space than other places. I returned here because of good reliable service in the past and its chica friendly.

Hotel: Terra Linda: I had very poor or no Internet connection during my 3 days stay here. They are one of the most expensive hotels in the area, yet they did not get this right. I inquired to the front desk multiple times and they kept telling me they would get to it. I believed them at first but after the 2nd day I grew weary of "I'll look into it very soon". I'm a regular internet user who checks email regularly, uses Skype to make calls to the States and likes to do a bunch of surfing. I ended up leaving my hotel to do those things and going to the small internet hole in the wall just up the street. That is totally unsatisfactory compared to paying $69 vs. $40 or $55 I paid at other places with very reliable Internet service. Upon checkout, I asked the clerk on duty to provide me a small refund to compensate the service that was paid for and not provided. He told me that there was a problem with the service and he could not do anything, they would have to call someone. I said I paid for a service for which I didn't receive, and yes this was his problem. He went on with the "well, this is the DR and one can't control these things. " Meanwhile, the unattractive hole in the wall just 40 yards away had reliable Internet service each time I left my comfortable hotel room to use the Internet.

An owner /manager came out of an office right by the front desk and was overhearing my complaining. He asked the clerk directly, "When does this customer check out? " I interjected and said "I'm leaving today". The clerk told him I was in the process of checking out right now and he said "Good" to the clerk and did not address me although I was 4 feet way. This total disrespect was very infuriating. I promised them on the spot I would write a letter which would cause them to lose hundreds of dollars. Here I've kept my promise. Too bad they did not keep theirs.

Now accountability: This hotel will not get any repeat business from me. That costs them about one week every year or $483/year, and probably $1500 over the next 4 years. This all could have been saved if they would have refunded $4-$5 per day for the lack of Internet service. There was no apology, no I'm sorry, no offer any type of other compensation. Just "sorry, there is a problem and it is not within our control". I gave them an opportunity to be accountable and did not respond. This failure to be accountable is a bad business decision as no doubt this report may cost them several thousand dollars more in lost business. It is a nice hotel, but for someone who depends on reliable Internet service, this is not the place for you.

One other annoyance I had was that I was in the middle of a nice romantic swim in the pool with a beautiful chica and a waiter comes up and asks us if we want a drink. WHILE we are swimming. WTF! Never interrupt me when I'm in the pool with my chica.

LA PASSIONS: I have been to this place on each visit I've made to Sosua, usually just to look and once going with a chica onsite. I found the lineup to be much younger and tighter bodies than in previous visits. I took Rhianna out the first night because she gave me just a great vibe while we talked in the bar. She is beautiful and her face reminds me of Halle Berry between her eyes and her mouth. She was a great GFE although in the morning she did not want to french kiss. That was a little disappointing after an otherwise great night. Good eager service, friendly and super adorable. She did perform very well in the morning, just no kissing. She has a great-shaped B-cup breasts that you can't really tell when she has a shirt on. I am still day dreaming about her 3 days after my return. I paid 3500DP for takeout at 10pm, return at 10am. That is a big amount for Sosua, however the roughly $100 is 5 couch dances at my local gentlemen's club. In that respect, it is a great price.

There was another smoking girl at La Passions named Diana. She had a wonderfully flat stomach and legs to die for. She was taken 2 nights I wanted her. I met one guy who got an onsite BJ. He said her service was lackluster and she didn't take her top off so I'm probably better off for not going with her. But I found her body so tight I just loved to sit and watch her in the small outfits. One other good thing about La Passions is they wear skimply clothing and occasionally remove tops and strip down to the G-string. This is great to know what you are going to get ahead of time. Often times at Classico's or Latinos the girl can look good in clothes but fall apart upon disrobing.

CARRIBEAN MEN'S PARADISE. I stopped here which is 2 blocks from La Passions on the side closer to Latinos. It is a good second option with plans similar to La Passions. I thought the lineup was better at La Passions, but some very doable girls here. I was there twice and the worst part was there was not many other guys. While this could be an advantage, I had the feeling that my move to talk to a girl, buy a drink, etc. Was being watched by about 20 pairs of eyes and I didn't light that feeling. I spoke to one girl who said she used to work in La Passions for several years. She was 29, look 25-26. The idea of the mileage on her for several years at La Passions was discouraging and I didn't go with her.

CLASSICO'S, LATINOS, EL FLOW, etc. I spent a good deal of time walking up and down the street of sitting at a table and watching the traffic go by. Having lived here for 8 weeks 2 years ago, I notice a good bit of change. Some bars are now closed and very quiet while El Flow, Rumba and X-Club now exist and have decent crowds. La Rumba is owned by a guy from New York and cater to a more upscale Dominican crowd and I did not see much chica action over there. El Flow seemed to also be mostlly local Dominicans but many of the girls were in play. Latinos dance floor was much quieter than 2 years ago and didn't really get busy until later, about 12am.

I met a pretty Haitian named Joselin at Classicos. She was about 5'6", nice body, large breasts and very pretty smile. I interviewed her and about what she did/didn't do and she said "anything you want. " I took her back to my place and she was a relatively poor performer who gave me "cold fish" service. That is a girl who lies on the bed and expects to lay there and you do them. I had directly told her that french kissing was very important to me and she said no problem. Well here she said she didn't like to do that. In my mind I picked her up and threw her out on the street. I hate when chicas do this.

Here's a case where a chica who could earn repeat business and get a good tip if she offered good service. She lost out. 2 nights later I saw her again at Latinos. She came up to me and smiled and said "let's go". I said sorry, you did not french kiss the way I wanted last time. She said she would this time. I said that is no good, you have to be accountable for your actions last time and you were not trustworthy. Her face/body was an 8, but her service was a 4.

The age of the chicas I was with was 22, 19, 20, 19, 20. I personally love the young skin and tight bodies of the younger chicas. Not to mention the idea of low mileage. Yes some of them are immature and haven't mastered good techniques.

Friday afternoon I was walking to the beach to go for a swim and as I walk past El Flow I saw this incredible young and beautiful face. I kept going another 2 stores down and then thought to myself, "What the hell am I doing? This is the youngest, freshest face I've seen down here in years. " I went back to El Flow and approached her and her friends. Her name was Daniella (Denis Daniellla on her ID). She had great natural boobs, a low-cut shirt to expose them and very tight body all around. I asked her is she had a bathing suit and she said she didn't. I said if I bought you one would you go swimming with me. She agreed and I bought her a suit and we went back to Terra Linda for a swim. She claimed her friend was a Sosua regular and this was her first time and she didn't plan to "work" as her friend did.

She came back to the hotel room changed into the bathing suit and DAMN if she wasn't amazing looking. Not a flaw on this girl. We went down to the pool and did some cuddling, kissing and light swimming. There were 3-4 guys throwing a football in the pool and I could read all of their minds, "Where the hell did you find this fine girl? I want her as soon as you are done with her. " She dressed well, carried herself well, a different class then the Sosua locals. After the swim we came back up to my hotel room. She cuddled with me in her underwear but was not open to doing anything more. I told her I wanted to spend more time with her and she said she wanted to get back to her friend. I walked her back to El Flow to meet her friend. She told me she was planning to go back to Santiago later that night. I left her and went for dinner.

Two hours later I was walking by El Flow and there was Daniella with her friend. I was happy to see her even though I felt she lied to me. She said here friend had made her stay and that she wanted to leave. Seemed like they were just enjoying the music, the crowd and the beer at El Flow. I couldn't totally figure it out. I offered to take both her and her friend just to see if they were open to it. She said they were "waiting" for someone. My mentira-meter (lie detector) was going off quite loudly now. I left again. Ninety minutes later I walked by and heard her friend Michelle trying to negotiate a price with someone. I'm still confused by that one. I wanted to ask "You don't like my money? "

Later this night I came across Eliani, a cute 20-year old who has 1 bambino. I got her number and made plans for Sunday morning. She's a pretty girl though has 2 scratches at the top left-side of her cheek. I didn't ask how she got them. I think 8-10pm on Thursday through Sunday is the primetime to meet a lot of good talent and get their phone numbers for later. I did call her Sunday and had her come over to my room at Terra Linda. She came over and immediately said she was hungry. I gave her 250 pesos to get food and return. She did. She got chicken and rice, brought it back and then ate it. Then she was tired. I let her nap for 15 minutes on the "cama rica" (rich bed). After that we showered and fooled around some. Overall her personal hygiene left something to be desired. I did DATY but the bad smell (even after a shower) killed my enthusiasm for that shortened my visit there.

Overall she has a great little body, breasts show some from the bambino. I had thought I might spend a couple of hours and really go at it with her but something about her said "this girl is unclean" and it killed my desires. She ended up being with me for 2. 5 hours with meal, nap, music time and shower included. I gave her 1500DP. I had 700 pesos sittiing open on the counter. She asked for a 500DP tip. I said no, I had paid her well and also gotten her lunch. I gave her 100DP. She grabbed the 2nd 100DP note and said can I have this too. Please, Please, Please. I said no. I have been very generous with you and it was ugly to be begging (I speak reasonable Spanish). She cried and whined and kept pleading. I said please put my 100 pesos back, I did not give that to you. I said if you don't, I will talk to the manager here. She finally conceded and said "Here's your F-ing 100 pesos. " The 100 pesos, about $3 isn't that much, but it was the principle. The fact that I could be very generous with her, accomodating her hunger, tiredness, etc. Then, when she picked up my 100 pesos and I asked for my own money back, she got really upset with me for asking for something that was mine. That is the street-chica element that I do not like about Sosua.

Sunday night I went back to La Passions and wanted to go with Diana or petite girl who had both caught my eye of previous visits. Bases on my friends weak review of Diana, I went for petite girl. If you go do Passions website, you can see photos of all the girls who work there. I found the girls better looking that their posted pictures. I really liked petite girls' look and got a good vibe from her. I did take her TLN for $3500. The one thing about La Passions is that they are accountable to the owner of the place, so stealing and other abusive behavior is very unlikely. This is worth something in Sosua as my experience with 20+ girls there is that roughly 50% under perform what is promised and 20% of the street chicas lie, deceive and get abusive.

Petite girl and I got back to my place, she was a good sport and came down to the pool in bra and panties at 11pm and stuck her feet in the water while I took a swim. We went back to the room and started making out. She has a great little body, a little spinner. She has 1 child and her breasts did reflect that. I did notice on this trip more than any other how the girls who had children had much more sagging breasts than those without children. This never stuck out so much to me before. I wonder how much of it depends on how the girls nurses and maintains herself. I have even found a few chicas that have breasts that are like deflated tires.

So I'm making out with petite girl and a pattern is developing. I told her in the bar I really like french kissing and she says that is fine with a smile/wink. Well as we kiss, it goes kiss for 2 seconds then she turns her head so I'm at her cheek and neck. Then I reposition face to face to kiss her mouth and the pattern repeats. I cannot get into it. I stop and tell her and she says Ok. She then starts kissing me but very forcefully puts her arm behind my head and pulls my head hard towards hers. This was way to forceful to be enjoyed. I tell her I don't like the arm behind my head. She then kisses me hard with her lips tight, rubbing hard back and forth across the front of my mouth. I'm wondering if she is trying to do what I want or is she exaggerating and trying to hurt/annoy me and saying "Ok, you wanted hard, deep kisses, here you go! " Whatever the hell is was, it was not soft and sweet. What I was looking for.

I stopped, laid on my back and said "I don't feel good". She asked if there was a problem. I said I was looking for something soft and sweet and this didn't appear to be working out. She said that it was important that I was happy and if I didn't like her, I could get my money back and go for another girl. WHAT? Did she really say that? I was a little afraid she might be about to get hysterical angry with me and I was cautious. I was trying to tell her I thought she was beautiful, and I liked her, but the chemistry in bed did not seem to be working. She agreed and didn't seem to be upset. She said she would give me my money back and I could get another girl, maybe from Carribiean Men's Paradise.

If this girl did not work at La Passions, there is no way in hell there would ever have been a conversation about returning money. The fact that she was accountable to the business owner was worth a lot. She took out 3000 and laid it on the bed and said here. Now when you pay $3500 for takeout at Passions, the girl gets $2500 and the house gets $1000. I gave her back $1000 as I didn't want her to lose money and respected her willingness to return my money. I really so, so respect La Passions for having girls who would do this. That is the kind of accountability and customer service that has customers return.

I gave petite girl a ride to the moto concho stand so she could get a ride home. She gave me a polite, professional goodbye even though she very likely was annoyed herself at the events of the night.

Later in the evening I found "Lady" in Classico's around 3am. She was the best of what was around at that hour. 19, lives in Sosua, 1 child. She has a really nice body though again having a child her breasts are not what they once were. Her performance was lackluster "here I am, do me". I so enjoy when a girl is sexy and energetic versus just laying on her back and waiting for you to come to her. If I could invent a system for chica pricing, the price should be $500DP and then service bonuses of $500-$1500 based on performance, so the cold fish would earn $1000 and the top-performers would earn $2000.

When you just have 1 week in the DR, having top-performers or at least having a provider who is accountable for their quality of service is a very important thing.

Thanks to everyone for reading and thanks to those before me for sharing their stories and knowledge. All the best.

this right here is too funny! hope she wasn't a dime!

actually there is a good lesson here. she is playing the "i'm a good girl role" but everyone must understand that a "good girl" would not go anywhere near sosua. sosua is about money and sex period, don't get it twisted fellas.

interesting story.

once a wingman and i went to santiago to see my regular(good girl) and her friend. i gave my wingman the prep talk. we are staying in cabarette not sosua. i also told him no matter what don't say sosua.

well were sitting at the table with the family and he asks me what time classicos closes? i ignore him but the girls brother asks him"classicos in sosua"? he said "yeah". when sosua was mentioned everyone stopped eating and looked at me. i continued eating as i felt everyone staring. then my girl asks my boy if we were staying in cabarette. he said yes with me. then she asks what hotel? my boy looked at me as i ate(for help) then said newgarden in cabarette. her brother says newgarden is in sosua. i'm thinking"this motherfucker just killed me" so now i have to throw his dumb ass under the bus. i said i'm in cabarette and he is staying in sosua. we finish eating and my girl says i'm going home with you. i say i'm tired and just want to sleep and rest. needless to say she never called me and i never called her again. as me and my boy drive to classicos i ask"do you remember the gameplan" he gave me the fuck them hoes speech and i let it go.

I am asking you this because you have been to Sosua in the last 2 weeks and you have experience traveling in the area.

According to posts on another site, these has been a major crackdown in Sosua. They say girls girls are being arrested on the street if they are not with an escort. They also report that there is no action in town during the day, and only late at night at the 2 largest discos. They claim the the mayor is trying to get all chicas of the street and it is working.

At first this report seemed beleiveable. Another site (****) had over 200 inquires on this but they closed the thread on this.

Since then I have read several reports from Sosua including yours, which do not mention a crackdown. The guys who seemed to start this are a couple of bitter egotists who seem like like they might start a hoax.

So I ask you, are there any signs of an actual crackdown in Sosua? I know things are slower than they used to be, but that would be far from a crackdown.

I was in PP from mid August to late September and was staying at my apartment and the internet was ATROCIOUS. It might very well have been just as bad in Sosua. So, do I believe it may have been beyond the control of the hotel in Sosua? Yes. However, do I believe that they should have compensated you for their inability to provide you what you paid for? Absolutely! Then again, this is the DR.

Nice reporting! Yeah that sucks that you had a couple of dead fish. Shit happens in Sosua. I love to french kiss as well and if a female can't oblige to a simple kiss then it's time for her to get the fuck out! Luckily you got your money back cus usually you take the "L" and pay there ass too leave.

Curious were you able to find a true novia that satisfied your needs while in Sosua or were all the broads you dealt with have some issue?

Many thanks, Kyle, for taking the trouble to write such a detailed and literate report.

You have been unusually honest about everything. I must say you don't seem a good fit for Sosúa. You come across as very precise, rational, hygienic and fair-minded. Sosúa is sloppy, irrational, squalid and opportunistic (or worse).

I had to laugh about your reporting the waiter who offered you drinks in the pool. Had that annoyed me it would have lasted about two seconds and I would have forgotten about it two minutes later. You are kind of finely tuned, aren't you? You won't live to my age if you sweat the small stuff.

I am amazed at your story of the Passions chica returning all your money, having already gone that far. I have never heard of such a thing and I think any other guys expecting the same customer service will be in for a disappointment.

By the way, the chicas there are often very reluctant to kiss. Many would accept your dick up their ass but not kiss you on the lips. Partly it is just a hygiene thing but it is also a superstition that they reserve kissing for their "real" boyfriend or partner. Those that will kiss are maybe not in a steady relationship at that time.

Like you I prefer chicas of 22 and under but I wouldn't rely on them having low mileage. Most of them will have been fucking guys in the barrios for a few pesos since they were 14 or earlier. And usually without condoms.

Dominicans and even gringos running businesses in the DR don't do refunds. My landlord, who has lived here for 17 years, bought a brand new grill. First time he used it all the enamel crazed and came loose. When he took it back for a refund they said they couldn't give a refund "because it had been used".

Of course you are right to "punish" Terra Linda by withdrawing your custom and posting a negative report. But understand this. They don't care! They don't think about the money they will lose tomorrow, let alone next year. All they want is for this annoying customer to get the hell out and leave them in peace for the rest of the day.

Accountability (as defined by Miriam-Webster online): an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one's actions.
I live in the DR and love my life here, but if there is one thing which is diametrically opposed to the Dominican mentality it is "accountability" and that applies from the President down to the lowest street-rat. It is not necessarily that they are craftily evading responsibility. They simply do not understand the connection between cause and effect.

A chica I spent a few days with was cooking with her one-year old playing round her feet. The child was splashed with hot oil and suffered (and continues to suffer) great pain. When the police arrested the mother she was baffled as "obviously I didn't mean to do it". It was just bad luck (or God's will for the religious ones).

It was obviously God's will that your internet did not work.

There is definitely a crackdown. Mainly targeting unescorted and undocumented girls which, in the nature of things, includes many haitianas.

Hard to distinguish the effect of this from the usual seasonal downturn and the effects of the economic downturn. Also many "oldtimers" are saying there is general decine in quality since the "good old days". This may be true but is a separate issue and would not be obvious to those who have only been going there within the last four years anyway.

Nothing to stop anyone going with a positive mind and having their usual great time. May need to shift your asses away from the New Garden and the Strip a bit more and explore the surrounding areas, but you will be glad you did afterwards.

Well said sir.

If you are of a positive mind and demeanor you can take a lemon and make lemonade.

The "crackdown" has occurred in the past and it will happen again in the future.

To me its NO IMPORTA because I know how to navigate the island and not just depend on 1 street (Pedro Clisante) to satisfy my carnal desires.

Carpe Diem...

Great report Kyle.

And I applaud your business model.

NEVER REWARD BAD BEHAVIOR...

Well done.

I wanted to get report or some feedback on el colibiri. I have my trip planned for this upcoming January with a group of friends. I wanted to know how far away from the strip is this hotel and if it would be problems when bringing the ladies back. I previously stayed at the casa marina before for my 1st trip and now where trying to step it up a little. The group consists of 4-7 people and we wanted to have an apartment style hotel. Any recomendations will help. Any villa/condo thats in walking distance of the strip would be good if not any hotel with apartments of suites close to the strip.

Thanks

Ok, I am in Sosua right now. I did see police/army? Last night at the main intersection of Clisante and Rosen, but I didn't see any effect on the girls. In fact, I wish they would crack down a little just so I can walk down the street in peace, at least during daylight hours. This place is nothing but an open brothel. It is my first time here so here is my report in a nutshell.

Go in any bar on the main street you see local women sitting alone and assume they are working. It is not complicated. The major places, Classicos etc, have more. You will not be allowed to sit alone long. I usually tell them right away, in Spanish, go away and leave me alone, unless I am interested. I'd say 80% of them I would pay *not* to touch me. The other 20% are excellent depending what you are into. I have found 2000 to be the typical price but I don't bargain too hard if I like the girl. Then I finally found Passions which is way down the other end of Clisante. I was told the girls will leave you alone unless you call them. This is not true but they are much easier to deal with, and more importantly, much hotter. The 'menu' of services gives you prices up front and you have some nice rooms and they are expanding. Plus from my experience and others says level of service much higher. There are some other clubs as mentioned nearby but I didn't try them because there were so many I liked in Passions.

Fwiw, I always walked to and from Passions even though parts are very seedy. It is a long walk. If you are not used to this just take the mototaxi who are almost as annoying as the street girls.

There are some really good people here but this place has seem much better days.

I was in SDQ this past weekend for 5 days and did not see one chica on the Malecon nor on Independencia. Ran into one chica, cute little spinner named Alexandra, outside the restaurant next door to the Mystik Hotel but when we came out of the Girl's House twenty minutes later she was gone. She went down to the casino and not a minute too soon as the Police pulled up at the exact spot where she had been hanging.

I had been in Sosua the first week in September and the Politur was randomly cracking down on chicas without cedulas, walking alone and Haitianas at that time. At that time, 600P got them out. I've been told it has gotten worse and they aren't letting them out til the next morning. There were still plenty of chicas but as usual this time of year, the selection was not what it will be in late November, December and January.

No. That's not how the trade works on the North Coast.

Why would you want to look at a brief and probably misleading newpaper entry when you can walk out of your door and choose "in the flesh"?

Remember that most of the DR population is illiterate (consistently rated worst educated population in Latin America in survey after survey) and, judging by many posts on w h o r e boards like this one, a lot of mongers are hardly better. Of course there are newspapers, but you rarely see anyone reading one except in barbershops or dentists (etc) waiting rooms.

Yeah, sorry for the late check in, but my last two days in the DR turned around completely when I met an expat living in Cabarete. This guy has more regular girls then you can count on two hands, and he was nice enough to show me around to the nicer areas outside of Sosua and to introduce me to some of his girlfriends' friends. Changed my take on DR completely. I am now seeing one of his girlfriends' roommate.

Frankly, I have nothing against Sosua as a resort if I were to stick close to the beach area. There is a casino, plenty of decent restaurants and bars, and a beautiful beach. However, if judging by what others have said about regular girls and their reactions to Sosua, for my return trip, I would like to have a hotel recommendation for Cabarete. All I need is something on par with the Sea Breeze but not in Sosua. So far I have not found anything comparable except for Hotel Kaoba which averages $64/night on Expedia. Any other suggestions?
