I have always understood this Brugal place is just a bottling and storage facility so not really much to see. Would someone who has actually visited there please conform or otherwise. Thanks.Your right Charles.
From what I can understand the main factory is located in the Santa Domingo area. The finished rum is shipped to Puerto Plata in wooden barrels and they bottle it there.

The waterfalls is a nice trip. It is not for everyone as it is very physical. Bring some water, snacks and proper footwear. BB's has info. And also Maria (she sells clothes to the girls at BB's) set me up with her son who was a guide there at the time. I made as far as #17 before it was getting to late. Once you get there it is a bit of a hike to the start of the falls and there were lots of locals as it was the weekend.

How much do you pay for scooter rental and do you buy insurance? It is out of vogue to wear helmets, right? When I went to the Falls, there are guys there who sit there all day who I tipped 50 pesos to watch my scooter. If I hit classicos or club 59 I park up the hill a little from the stands where they make the fried meat, in front of "NYC SUBS, lol my ass NYC SUBS" and my Haitian guy will watch it all night for me for 100 pesos. If I hit the beach the guys there again will watch it for me for 50 pesos. Hey guys I'd rather be safe than sorry, especially when they hold on to your passport and make you sign a 15, 000 peso lost or stolen scooter waiiver.

She was driving down one of the dirt roads near her "house" and a guy knocked her off the damn thing as she was moving. They got the scooter, what little money she had and her cedula. She tried to fight them off and they gave her a hell of a beating. Poverty breeds desperation it's that simple.

LOLIf you ride in Puerto Plata wear a helmet or you will get a ticket, the police are always somewhere on one of the main roads giving out tickets to the hoards of people that don't wear helmets.

It will be my first time in DR, but I'm looking forward to having a great time and banging lots of beautiful women. At least I'm hoping so; What do you guys think? I have been reading all this crap about the crack downs in Sosua, but I'm not going to let that ruin my vacation plans. I have been waiting for this trip for a few months now, and I'm always checking this board to get a update on the conditions in Sosua.
If anyone is going to be there while I'm there I would love to meet up for a drink. Like I said this is my first time there and I'm not real sure on what to expect. At first I was going to stay at Hotel Casa Cayene, then decided on Europa, but in the end I decided to finalize and confirm a reservation Hotel D' Piero, which I guess is located near passions. I'm younger so I really don't mind walking accross town to party and have fun. Any more info you guys can give me would be great. I decided on hotel D'piero because he had great prices and they will pick you up and take you back to the airport for free, which I thought was cool. That would save me the steep prices of the cab drivers there. I will be sure to give him a nice tip though.

Actually it is every other SaturdayThey are now running the Bikini contest one week, and the "miss universe" contest the next, alternating between the two. The Bikini contest at BB is on the 12th and the Miss Universe is on the 19th for March during the period we are discussing. Hope this clears it up.
I'll be back in Sosua on the 10th of April for a few days. Need my fix. Any special events at new garden? I checked the BB site and everything happens on Saturday far as contest goes.

I've been a long-time lurker who has enjoyed your posts and would love to be able to meet. Unfortunately, I do not have PM and am currently trying to get Jackson to expedite my PM facilities. About time I stopped freeloading!
It will be my sixth trip to the DR which has replaced Bangkok / Pattaya as my primary mongering destination after literally decades of punting in the LOS I can relate to dealing with the Thai drama queens who will threaten to slash their wrists at every perceived slight.
IMHO, the DR chicas a lot closer to to the scene in India which I consider the holy grail of mongering.

Sosua, January 2010. First time on a mongering expedition, so me and my wingman got off of the plane looking like fresh fish. We had made some of the classic newbie mistakes, and were still blissfully unaware of what was to come. I remember standing on the curb at the airport, wondering how the hell we were going to get to the hotel, and was lucky enough to get spotted by a hardcore monger from the states who had also just gotten to the airport. He was greeted by 5 dominicanas (a couple of which were smoking hot) and gave a quick rundown of how easy it was to get women in the DR. He offered to split a cab with us (including his min-harem that he said were 'mountain girls' and would fuck either of us for the price of a large pizza LOL). We rode to Casa Marina (mistake # 1) and checked in before proceeding to walk around Sosua. We were accosted almost immediately by women (the last of the good old Sosua days) but when we tried to take them back to Casa Marina we ran into the usual difficulty. We ended up not taking anyone that afternoon as we tried to figure out an alternative plan.
We rested up for the rest of the evening and eventually made our way to the spot Classicos that we had heard about. We weren't disappointed. I know you all remember your first experience there: loud music, wall to wall women grabbing you and fighting for your attention, feeling like a king. I was so overwhelmed that I took the first cute thing that came up to me at around 10:15 pm (mistake #2, but I was like a deer in headlights) and agreed to go to her place since my hotel was problematic. Afterwards, I asked her how much (mistake # 3 not negotiating up front) and she told me $80 (mistake #4 was not having changed my money to pesos as I walked around with $500US). Having no frame of reference and not knowing whether it was a good price, I agreed (and all I got was ST LOL). She saw the concerned look on my face and told me that if by the end of the trip I determined that she had overcharged me, she would give me a refund (and true to her word, she asked and offered when she saw me on my last night. Hooker with a heart of gold LOL, I let her keep it).
The next afternoon, my wingman and I were groped by 2 hardcore chicas while walking around town, the cutest of the 2 jumping all on my friend. We told them no, but might see them later. That night in Classico, I did see the one that I thought was cute, so made a move to get her (I thought I was doing something by beating my friend to the punch, what a rookie I was LOL) and once again I was off to the hourly room. Had we continued like this (with the hourly rental of these dingy little rooms) , I'm pretty sure that this would have been the end of our trips to the DR. But the god of Mongering smiled on us.
After getting rid of the girls, my wingman and I were hanging out in front of the Casino when four guys from the states walked out and saw us. They struck up conversation, and upon hearing all of the mistakes we had made, offered to take us under their wing and show us the ropes. They took us to get change, showed us the hotel that they were staying in (Terra Linda, a beautiful spot and we ended up renting a room there to go along with our rooms in Casa Marina) , and offered to take us to Black Beards the next day. To say that these guys saved the trip would be an understatement and is a big reason why I've been back 4 times in the last 12 months. They also schooled us on the importance of having a DR cell phone, the right way to negotiate price, and how much was too much to pay.
After their guidance, I am far from a novice (but won't claim expert yet either as my mongering game continues to evolve). My wingman and I shared the Terra Linda room, and had a ball the remainder of the trip, able to go to Casa Marina to eat and drink whenever we wanted while we fucked to our hearts content in Terra Linda. This reminds me of a story.
One time I helped this guy I could see knew absolutely nothing about what he was doing.
I felt sorry for the guy trying to negotiate with the puta. Not long after I was sorry I assisted as the guy turned out to be a non-committal flake. I ended up dodging him for a few days even though he did leave with the girl. Funny enough, a few days later, the same puta spots me in the street. She came running over to me all pissed off. She starts chewing me out for steering her on to a flake and how he promised her extras left and right. I didn't understand how that transpired since he spoke no Spanish and she spoke no English, but I took her word for it.
So anyway, this puta wanted to hold me accountable because I referenced the guy as 'mi amigo'. Once I corrected her understanding that he was not 'mi amigo' but a 'conocido' she backed off.
The moral of the story for me was to not to always be such a nice guy to people I don't know anything about. I can't help the world and sooner than later, one or the other will turn out to a nut job. Because of this I tend to stay away from others at least until I can better gauge what there are like from a personal perspective.
Oh ya... and careful not to use the word "amigo" so loosely. ;-)

Could you tell me if it's a problem with girls in Dominican republic?Not a serious problem unless you go deep into the campo (countryside), which you are unlikely to do on your first visit to the DR (unless you are the adventurous outdoor type). You will have a better time for the same money the more Spanish you speak, though. If you go somewhere like Blackbeards or Passions, where the prices are set and the environment a known quantity, then it is not a problem at all. My first ever holiday here was two weeks at Blackbeards when I could not speak a word of Spanish (not a whole lot better now, I am ashamed to say) and I had the time of my life. I enjoyed it so much that I came back for another seven months (total) on seven further vacations and now live here permanently.
The other point is that a sizable minority of us actually prefer Haitian girls. Most of them speak enough French for you to get by and some speak it quite well because most schools in Haiti teach all subjects in French for all but the youngest students. And haitianas tend to be a bit cheaper on the average, so more fuck for your buck. Ten percent of the inhabitants of the DR are Haitian.

Hey guys, I took the plunge and had my first trip to Sosua, or the D. R. For that matter for 3 wild nights. 4 days is definitely NOT enough time but I won't have much time off until later in the year. Only + is I work for an airline so getting down there is free.
I posted a report in the USA forums but will copy and paste here. I had a HELL of a time and will definitely like to have a Presidente with one of you guys the next time I'm down there.

I can appreciate you being a newbie and making mistakes, and I am really happy that you had a great time anyway. However, your trip could have easily gone the other way. The thought of a "fish" taking a girl to her home on his first night in a foreign land is downright frightening. Unless you know the chica well, never, never, NEVER do your business anywhere but your home turf, or at least a neutral site. The potential for danger-you getting robbed, sent to jail, maimed, killed- is increased by a thousandfold. I am telling you this out of concern, not to be a dick.
All of your mistakes could have easily been avoided with a little preparation. All information on chica-friendly places to stay; changing your dollars to pesos; personal safety; and negotiating with chicas can be found all over this and other boards. This is for you own security.
There are many, many experienced "good guys" that would be happy to help, but you have to ask and listen. The best idea for a newbie is to try to travel with an experienced person on their maiden voyage.
I'm sure everyone here appreciates your candor, and certainly the excellent photos you provided. Stay safe, and be smart!

I started mongering in Sosua over 8 years ago. I traveled with guys who wanted to stay in all inclusive hotels. We stayed a bunch of times at Sosua Bay Hotel / Victorian House All Inclusive and Casa Marina Beach All Inclusive. On one of my first trips I used a room at the Calypso Hotel, short term rooms at a low price (down the block from the liquor store). I used the Calypso one time, over 8 years ago with a chica I met at High Caribe disco and the room at the calypso then, was nasty.
On one of my first trips to Sosua my wingman met a pretty chica at the High Caribe Disco (now closed, located outside the center of Sosua, I saw a cockfight there one night, roosters fighting). My wingman with the chica in red (Lucy was here name, one of the prettier chicas in Sosua back then) and I drove from high caribe to bologna bar for drinks at 2am. My wingman then took the car and drove to where the chica lived, I stayed at bologna bar. My wingman told me, the chica in red invited him inside where she lived, her three brothers in their 20's, where lounging half asleep in the living room. She walked past them with my wingman in tow, unlocked the door to her bedroom and proceeded to blast her stereo with some music. She got naked, my wingman stayed there for an hour and then drove back to bologna bar where I was waiting. On another night my wingman drove a chica to Charamicos and parked behind a hearse in the street and enjoyed the chica in the car.
When I stayed at the Victorian House with a group of guys, two of us rented a condo at el neptuno to use as the place to have fun with the chicas. The side entrance for the el neptuno condominiums was across the street for the entrance of the victorian house, very convenient. The el neptuno condo was nice, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and balcony.
On other trips when we stayed at an all inclusive hotel in sosua, we rented a one bedroom condo from Marco at the tradewinds. My wingman is older than me, so when we used the condo at the same time, I let him take the bedroom and I used the sofa with a chica, sometimes I took the cushions off the sofa and put them on the floor and did my fucking there. We used to pay about $35 per night for a one bedroom at the tradewinds. During the day we would take turns using the apartment. Tradewinds pool is nice and I used that pool at 4am with some chicas I met.
I rented one time at the Palms, which is just after the tradewinds. I would never recommend the Palms. One night I met the chica in the attached photo (sunglasses). I told her I was renting an apartment at the Palms and she agreed to meet me later that night at the Palms. My wingman and I then met two other chicas and we took them back to the Palms that night. That night with my wingman and the two chicas inside the apartment at the palms, I walked outside to see if the other chica was there. The other chica in the photo did come by the palms that night and she invited me to her apartment. Without telling my wingman or the other two chicas, who were in the apartment, I went with the chica in the photo to her apartment. Her apartment was located on the ground floor of some building a two minute walk from the Palms. Nice apartment, we took a shower together, sex, I busted a nut, gave her about 1500 pesos and walked back to the palms where my wingman and the two chicas were waiting.
Hotel Orchidee and Rockys are located close to Classicos, if in the future you choose to stay at an all inclusive hotel in Sosua, you could rent lower price rooms at Rockys or Hotel Orchidee to use for sex. Tradewinds condos are not in the central part of Sosua. Tradewinds is more convenient if you have a rental car. El Neptuno is within walking distance of all.
Guys should always be careful in a foreign country, but unlike some other foreign countries, in the DR you generally don't have to be worried about getting kidnapped. Bad things about fucking a chica in her place; lack of air conditioning, sometimes no electricity and sometimes no running water. I have read practically no posts of mongers getting robbed when a chica invited them to her place in DR (doesn't mean it hasn't happened and it could happen in the future).
I'll be in Sosua April 10.

I didn't find out about ISG until my second trip, and I'm glad I did as it has helped me avoid other mistakes (thanks guys). That's why it's imperative that seasoned mongers keep an eye out for newbies. A lot of us are open to advice and guidance, and would love to have the best time possible.

Another guy and myself rented condominium apartments in Sosua, only to use when we entertained chicas, the majority of the time was spent at the all inclusive hotel or at the bars.
On one trip, Marco had no available apartments at Tradewinds and the owner of the el neptuno apartment (a guy from the States) told me his apartment was booked. I found info about the Palms online and made a reservation over the internet. The woman who managed the apartment at the Palms was probably Canadian and she worked at some bar in Sosua. I met with her in Sosua and paid for 5 nights. After I paid her, she told me that I could NOT bring any Dominican chicas to pool. When I stayed at the Tradewinds and El Neptuno I was never given such restrictions.

The Palms has a few parking spaces near the main entrance, across the street from the main entrance there is a house with a big yard that has geese, turkey, ducks and maybe some other animals. In the field across from the Tradewinds are a few old General Motors corvette automobiles that are partially covered with plant life.
Palms has a gated parking area down the hill closer to the pool. Near that parking area is a dirt road, where I had sex in the car one night.
Many nights in Sosua I stayed out till 4am or later. Some chicas I met, I invited them to go swimming at 4am at the Tradewinds pool. They entered the pool in bra and panties or nude.
Marco the Canadian guy at Rockys would give me the keys for the Tradewinds apartment, he was always a very good guy with me. The American owner of the el neptuno apartment was a very nice guy. I never received any complaints when I stayed at the Tradewinds or El Neptuno.
The Palms with their Apartheid like pool policy (which only applied to men and dominican women) and their intolerance of but the minimalist amount of noise, their no refund of money paid in case of wrongful eviction, for these reasons The Palms gets two thumbs down from me.
Maybe the Palms is different now, I have relayed my experience there.

Azul was a half Colombian, half Dominican chica, who used the pool with me at tradewinds at 5am, she was a regular in Sosua. I think you can add to the demerits at the Palms poor security and internet service, judging by my friend's experience. Even so, several intelligent Sosúa vets I know (who are more than aware of all the other options) always choose to stay there so there must be good aspects. Good thing we are all different.

Tradewinds has a nicer pool, surrounded by grass and plants, a little separated from the apartments. Palms pool is surrounded by cement within close proximity of the apartments.
Male Sosua vets or female Sosua vets? Seems the older white females run the place over at the Palms and do whatever they want at the Palms. I guess they would have evicted me super fast, if I dared showed up at the pool with a Haitian chica. (Some women at the Palms don't want Dominican women at the pool, I can only imagine how they might feel about Haitians). But if you are happy hanging around such people, have fun. It is not for me.
Some folks own apartments or their friends own apartments at the Palms and for that they would stay there.
Unless the Palms has loosened up with their rules and regs, I would advise any Mongers looking for a short term apartment rental to look elsewhere.

I always found if I took lots of pics (many of them very mundane and not for posting) I was able to remind myself what happened and in what order once I got back home and piece together a report then.
I didn't mention this but when I was there the police did try to get 100 pesos from me as I walked from CMP. I was with a hatian guy when they pulled up beside us and told the hatian to ask me for a 100 pesos. The cops didn't speak english. I ignored them and kept walking. They followed me a bit but. Not many people would fool with and they got that vibe and rode off. Most chicas told me they don't like Calle which is where classicos and everything is. Police like to people.

I used Viagra one time years ago and paid about $8 per pill, in Sosua. The Viagra made my skull pound with a headache (I was drinking beer). The Cialis hasn't really given me any side effects like that. I felt the effects from one Cialis for about 2 days, my last trip.

Classicos appears to be recession proof. The ratio was 5 to 1. The girls appear to have newbie radar as they zero in on my wingman. It was like I was invisible as he got all the stares. My wingman had two fine light skinned girls from Bani sitting with us but a couple nice honeys were lingering around for scraps. I was playing peace keeper to give my wingman outs. I thought I had a secret, but today a gringo told me about the same spot, damn. Its a little past Cabarette, I think its called Sabanetta. Please elighten me on where "Charamicos, Sosua Abajo, and Maranata are located in reference to Sosua Batey? I will be travelling by car and would like to visit. Out of all the times I have been there I have not been to these locations. Be there on the 30th. Thanks.If you drive from El Batéy towards Puerto Plata along the main road, Los Charamicos and Sosúa Abajo are the first and second shopping areas you will come to. Most of Los Charamicos lies to the right of the main road and extends to the ocean. You can of course also enter it by walking all along the beach path from El Batéy.
Sosúa Abajo is much smaller and what there is of it lies to the left of the main road.
Maranata is up a side road, inland, from Sosúa Abajo and is much more spread out.

There is a new Russian TV station in Sosua. Dee is no longer in Passions parking lot selling food. Saturday the ratio was about even as I guess alot of guys are coming just for the weekend now. The beach was packed with european families. Classicos is the last frontier. Its all that remains of the old Sosua, will it fall soon?

If you drive from El Batéwhy towards Puerto Plata along the main road, Los Charamicos and Sosúa Abajo are the first and second shopping areas you will come to. Most of Los Charamicos lies to the right of the main road and extends to the ocean. You can of course also enter it by walking all along the beach path from El Batéwhy.
Sosúa Abajo is much smaller and what there is of it lies to the left of the main road.
Maranata is up a side road, inland, from Sosúa Abajo and is much more spread out. Thanks for the info. Reading from the most recent reports looks like they are trying to kill off another one of our great mongering spots. Will Classicos go the way of Help? Let's hope not.

Ok guys, my trip was really good. I know there has been a lot going around about not many girls out during the day, but while I was there, there were girls everywhere all day everyday. Saturday there was a concert in puerto plata. She paid for both our tickets the day before and never asked me for money. The waiter brought the bill and it showed the price in USA dollars and Road. It was 109. 00 USA I was like shit, cause the guy gave me the bill. Since I had come back she has been texting me and telling me she misses me. She will text me every couple hours and tell me how she is doing or what she is doing things of that sort. Now here is the stunner, I asked her if she needed anything to get by or help out and she said NO! She wants me to keep my money so I can come back to see her sooner. In Passions in Santiago, I visited the place before (same night I had seen Mr. Pooter in Puerto Plata) midnight and many of the tables had bottles of cranberry juice on the tables, for the clients who would come in later and order bottles of vodka.
For a group of 4 or more people, might be cheaper to buy a bottle in a bar in DR, rather than pay for individual drinks. Belvedere and Grey Goose vodkas are popular in the DR. Some vodkas are smoother than others, if you want to lose your mind for a little while, vodka will help take you there.

I'm not a drinker either, and it seems to me that all the marketing of expensive wines and spirits is basically a scam, because all alcoholic drinks contain the same ethyl alcohol and have the same effect on your brain. As for the VIP table, it is also the case that any time you pay a lot of money for a drink, you are basically paying for the table, the chair, the ambience, the music, the view, or something other than the cheap industrially produced alcoholic drink.

Had a blast! A great little town, but the action (lots of it!) seems to be concentrated into a very small block or two. A monger might find that a whole week there would be a mite repetitious, as there aren't the number of different locations to check out, as in good ol' Sosua.
Checked out early on Sunday. Novia's room which they made me paid for was never used. What a waste!
Checked with the amigos around the lobby for bus info to Punta Cana. They all shook their heads, but one taxi guy offered to take us to the bus station. The connections seemed complicated and tiring. Boca Chica. La Romana. Higuey. Punta Cana, so we made a deal for the taxi to take us straight to Punta Cana for 160 US. Turned out to be a good move.
Once on the road, Princessa has instant rapport with driver and sends him out for snacks, drink and cigarettes for me, selects some music from his CD collection, and we're on our way. Life is good.
3 hours or so later we're at the Punta Cana resort, a huge area comprising 3 hotels, villas, and their own airport. We drive around for half an our looking for the right entrance. Stop at the gatehouse, where driver (not us) has to pull out all his I'd before they let him through, then another seems like half an hour to get to the main lobby.
Buddy, wife and teenage daughters meet us in the lobby, and they check each other out. Princessa left her "just come from disco" look in the suitcase, so she is dressed appropriately, bless her! The hotel is full they say and had trouble getting a room for us, but to us the whole place looks deserted, and judging by the empty micro bar in the lobby, this ain't no party place!
That's the whole point, buddy says. They are staying in a villa on a nearly deserted beach and you get around by shuttle or golf cart. Princessa is impressed, but everything is a high end big deal and we don't get to our room for another couple hours. I long for the familiar informality of Casa Marina and the Hamaca. We walk back to the lobby and ask ride to buddy's villa, I give them name and villa number but they say no one there by that name and no such unit No. Sheeesh!
Call buddy and he says stay there, we'll come and get you. He shows up later and explains they are at another hotel in the complex 15 mins away. Another Sheeesh! This ain't the Dominican Rep, that I know and love, much too formal, and its 2 hours after arriving before we get that first cold Presidente!
2 days on the beach, a couple dinners (including my birthday) at a local high end restaurant and that's about it. A very relaxed time and everybody got along just fine.
On Tuesday, back to La Romano for me and on to San Juan for her. Buddy and I give her some pesos for the family (he's met them) , but by the weekend she's texting for a little money for her birthday party. What happened to the money we gave you? She says she bought a macina to clean her clothes. WTF is that? I ask."a washing machine".
Lord, they soon catch on.
Anyway Buddy and I and Princessa will be in Sosua in April, this time in a condo.

Heck, at the Popular, there's a guard posted up outside by the ATM at night (the one near the square and just north of NG and the farmacia) with a shotgun.In nearly all incidents of ex-pats or (even more rarely) visitors being involved in violent crime or kidnapping it turns out they have chosen to associate with shady characters or are participating in illegal or controversial activities (drugs, money-lending, etc). Mongers who don't get drunk, or otherwise go out of their way to draw attention to themselves or insist on having the last word in disputes with locals, have little to fear.
I was mugged myself with a knife to my throat by two guys but that because I was walking home up an unlit lane in a rough area after midnight despite numerous warnings from my condos manager and other residents not to do that sort of thing. Stupidly, I thought I knew better and I was lucky to get away with the loss of 80 pesos (although I was carrying over 12000 and a half-decent camera). I learned my lesson cheaply.
Use more common sense that I did on that occasion and the DR (even Sosúa, which attracts lowlifes from the rest of the DR) is no more dangerous than other places, and a lot less dangerous than some.

I've heard of NG chicas through reading reports. I did stay at NG the last time which was my first time there. I saw some girls but none looked like they were working. I like Plaza Europa. If you pay in cash the rooms are cheaper. I believe you can bargain also. They have apartments on the other side which are around $30 / Night. Some apartments are good. There is a small pool there also. It is nice and secluded with full security at night. I am sure if you tell the lady $35 / Night for the rooms upstairs paying cash upfront she will agree.Thanks Sammon. I seem to remember the Europa isn't too far from the NG. This place is not live like it used to be, however there were still plenty of chicas walking up in Classicos last night. (By the way they are charging us 200 pesos now to go in.) I rented a car from Ace / Nelly in Santo Domingo to be returned in Santiago on the 7th. $148. I hit the road heading north. Since I have not been in DR for a while I had to buy a new SIM. Just got back myself from a week in Sosua. Stayed at Hotel Sosua Bay. In my opinion, the best place to stay. I own a time share and anyone looking for great deal PM me. I have nothing to say negative. All in all one of the best trips I have had. Sea Breeze is defitnately a dump. Never stayed anywhere else ecept Sosua Bay. Now that they the adult entrance on the beach side it works very well. Latinos had it's own crowd and not bad in my opinion. Pulled some sweet honeys over the weekend and Classicos is still the hot spot. Seems Friday night is the best. Guys come in and pull the fine chicas and lock them' down for the weekend. Saturdays are slower than Friday due to that fact. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday are all chicas. 3 to 1 seems to me. Get phone numbers for the day action and move on. I like the city now as in the past when it was wide open. I think putting in the controls has saved our spot. how many times do i have to explain this? a free lance chica is just a woman trying to make some money to get by. she is not a licensed professional like a hair stylist in the usa, or a taxi driver operating off a fixed tariff, so the idea of "going rates" can only be an approximation.
it is important to understand this concept, that the chicas are not just a business. if they were just a business, it might make sense for her economically to charge 750 pesos and to go with a different guy every 30 minutes. she could set up appointments like a hair stylist. but this is not how the dominican chicas operate and if a freelance chica operated in this manner it would be bad for her self esteem and her peer group status.
all you can say is that in sosua a guy can easily have sex with a fairly attractive freelance chica for 2000 pesos or less, maybe even 1000 pesos. possibly even free if she sees you as a longer term revenue source. however, if you are offering 1000 pesos and another guy is right there offering 1500 pesos, then you are probably out of luck.
market forces apply and the actual price you will pay will depend not on your race or language skills, but on how much you want to pay, the level of attractiveness of the chica you want to go with, and whether she thinks she can get more from other clients.
now, if you are dealing with a brothel, then it is a business, for example la passion massage, where you can go and have sex with a girl for a set price that includes the room. the price for straight sex is 2500 pesos. if you had to rent a short term room elsewhere i think you would pay 400 pesos, so you are paying about 2100 pesos for sex and this includes a profit for the house. but you are getting a bit of a discount because these chicas may be having sex several times a day, and this is a full time job for them.

Brothas don't dig the whole "Euro Vibe" as you see where it has gotten us in the New Sosua. Having the beach in Sosua was nice, but I don't know of any brothas (including myself) that would hang there. I had two bros take me to the beach once. 1. Transportation. Flights from the US to POP originate out of Miami, Atlanta, and the New York area. Atlanta is a predominantly Black city, but I suspect that when we are talking about African-American mongers, we oten tend to be referring to guys coming from the New York region, flying out of airports in that area.
2. When I discovered the DR as a good place for sex, I immediately asked myself why there were relatively so few mongers in Sosua. Wouldn't every single guy in the Eastern US want to get down there a few times a year and get fucked stupid?
However, when I thought about this, it appeared to me that the vast majority of guys have family ties and contacts who know where they are at all times and who would strongly disapprove of even a suspicion that they were traveling for purposes of paid sex. Also religious and church affiliation is a factor for a significant part of the population, and a vast percentage of the population does not live within 4 hours drive of one of the gateway airports, making access for a "lost weekend" less convenient and more expensive.
3. In my work I know hundreds of people and it is well known that I have been to the Dominican Republic many times and that I have a Dominican wife, and that I speak Spanish. Sometimes I am called on to translate. Yet over several years NO ONE has ever asked me about prostitution in the DR. Not even my male friends, although I get the occasional oblique hint about attractive Dominican women.
I think this is because this would be seen as a very inappropriate thing to ask about in the workplace, and because I have an ultra respectable image, so people would not dare raise the topic with me for fear of causing offense. I want it this way. I would not want there to be even a whisper to suggest that I am a person who would use prostitutes.
When I travel to the DR, I always travel alone (or with wife). No one other than some people who know me in the DR knows that I have ever paid for sex.
4. Black mongers in Sosua or at Blackbeards often seem to travel in groups, or at least in pairs. This suggests to me that they are much less concerned about being exposed back home, so I wonder whether the black community in the US is more tolerant of paying for sex than the community at large. Another factor may be that there are many African Americans in the military, who may have developed a taste for paying for sex while serving overseas, and many of the AA mongers we see in Sosua may be ex-military.
I know that when I was a young man I would not have dreamed of paying for sex, because it would have seemed to me that such a thing was sleazy and an admission of failure to be found sexually attractive by potential partners. I didn't pay for sex until I was in the late 40's and the age differential equation came into play. Simply put, by paying I could have sex with a woman younger than what I could get for free (and better looking too) and since I was now more affluent, and less concerned about looking for "relationships", the inhibitions about paying for sex were lifted.
5. To be a monger and travel to Sosua requires that you have a passport and a reasonable amount of money. This rules out convicted felons and the poor and makes mongering basically a middle class pursuit. While you may see guys in Sosua at the weekend wearing basketball shirts, baseball caps on backwards, and earings, chances are that they are respectable citizens-corporate employees or civil servants-in their day jobs, or that they have some kind of responsible uniformed job-cop, firefighter, prison guard and that they are playing the part of "hip-hopper" as a kind of fantasy fulfillment.

Actually it is an interesting question, that could be considered on a number of levels.
1. Transportation. Flights from the US to POP originate out of Miami, Atlanta, and the New York area. Atlanta is a predominantly Black city, but I suspect that when we are talking about African-American mongers, we oten tend to be referring to guys coming from the New York region, flying out of airports in that area.
2. When I discovered the DR as a good place for sex, I immediately asked myself why there were relatively so few mongers in Sosua. Wouldn't every single guy in the Eastern US want to get down there a few times a year and get fucked stupid?
However, when I thought about this, it appeared to me that the vast majority of guys have family ties and contacts who know where they are at all times and who would strongly disapprove of even a suspicion that they were traveling for purposes of paid sex. Also religious and church affiliation is a factor for a significant part of the population, and a vast percentage of the population does not live within 4 hours drive of one of the gateway airports, making access for a "lost weekend" less convenient and more expensive.
3. In my work I know hundreds of people and it is well known that I have been to the Dominican Republic many times and that I have a Dominican wife, and that I speak Spanish. Sometimes I am called on to translate. Yet over several years NO ONE has ever asked me about prostitution in the DR. Not even my male friends, although I get the occasional oblique hint about attractive Dominican women.
I think this is because this would be seen as a very inappropriate thing to ask about in the workplace, and because I have an ultra respectable image, so people would not dare raise the topic with me for fear of causing offense. I want it this way. I would not want there to be even a whisper to suggest that I am a person who would use prostitutes.
When I travel to the DR, I always travel alone (or with wife). No one other than some people who know me in the DR knows that I have ever paid for sex.
4. Black mongers in Sosua or at Blackbeards often seem to travel in groups, or at least in pairs. This suggests to me that they are much less concerned about being exposed back home, so I wonder whether the black community in the US is more tolerant of paying for sex than the community at large. Another factor may be that there are many African Americans in the military, who may have developed a taste for paying for sex while serving overseas, and many of the AA mongers we see in Sosua may be ex-military.
I know that when I was a young man I would not have dreamed of paying for sex, because it would have seemed to me that such a thing was sleazy and an admission of failure to be found sexually attractive by potential partners. I didn't pay for sex until I was in the late 40's and the age differential equation came into play. Simply put, by paying I could have sex with a woman younger than what I could get for free (and better looking too) and since I was now more affluent, and less concerned about looking for "relationships", the inhibitions about paying for sex were lifted.
5. To be a monger and travel to Sosua requires that you have a passport and a reasonable amount of money. This rules out convicted felons and the poor and makes mongering basically a middle class pursuit. While you may see guys in Sosua at the weekend wearing basketball shirts, baseball caps on backwards, and earings, chances are that they are respectable citizens-corporate employees or civil servants-in their day jobs, or that they have some kind of responsible uniformed job-cop, firefighter, prison guard and that they are playing the part of "hip-hopper" as a kind of fantasy fulfillment.
I see a disturbing number of racist and semi racist comments from my fellow mongers. Maybe we need to open a cultural sensitivity thread to help everyone keep a civil tongue in their heads. BTW, I love Sosua. (see how I keep it on topic for this thread).

Well, fine, good for you, but many in many fields where people with doctorates are employed, letting it be known publicly that you are a monger would be professional suicide. For example in education, medicine, law, public administration. In general I would say that people in the higher echelons of society would be LESS likely to visit Sosua because they have more to lose through public exposure.

I was trying to point out the inappropriate generalizations that you were making about Black people and the Black men that go to the DR. There may be some 'thugs' that go to the DR, but there are also successful folks that go to have fun too. Let's just be careful of how we generalize about others, that's all I'm saying.
