As a side note, I wanted to share a hometown experience from this past holiday weekend that made me fiend to be back in the DR. I was in a popular downtown club on Christmas Eve. I planned on taking it easy, but my bud dragged me out. Although I can still party without looking like someones Pops or Uncle, I'm starting to feel way too old for this shit. Most of the women there were anywhere from 10-15 years my junior. One chic was celebrating her 21st bday. Damn, time flies.

The irony of this compared to the DR is that I don't feel the slightest insecurity about my advanced age when I'm there. Actually, I sometimes feel like the young buck. Plus, I have the assurance that as little as $40 can yield a good time. So, I'm in this club. I'm drinking and scoping out the scene. I notice a few nice young honeys looking right! I perceive myself as a very confident guy, but I can't summon the nerve to step to any of them. It felt like a spotlight would flash on my ass as soon as I approached any of them.

As the night wore on and I ingested more liquid courage, I almost got the nerve to step to this one hottie that I watched off and on all night. By this time she was dancing right in front of me. In a lot of ways, she reminded me of PP chica, but she was just a tad bit thicker and not quite as pretty. She was still finer than a mf. I wish I could tell you that I made a connect, but I let her leave without even saying Hello. I spent over $200 that night and came up empty. I left that night feeling like a punk. Although I felt that I had a good chance of getting her digits, sex that night definitely would not have been part of the program.

How far will $200 go in Sosua. Let see. Uhm, you would be able to eat and drink (Presidente) all day. You could have a ST romp and a TLN. Depending on your negotiating skills and appetite, you might even have a few bucks left over for some type of tour or rent a scooter. I normally budget myself to around $200 / day while in Sosua. Sometimes, I don't come close to spending that amount. I think a person could reasonably enjoy themselves on $100 / day and a cheapskate can do better than that. I don't like the feeling of being tight and I don't do hardcore negotiations with chicas. Normally, a price is not discussed. A lot of mongers like to know upfront in order avoid conflict. I just say be a better judge of character and you won't have those issues. Knock on wood! I haven't had a situation yet. If I feel attracted enough to be with her and she performs well, I generally pay more than the going rate. That is just me.This reminded me of my last (read "final") night club experience in sex prison last year. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to go to the club on Valentines Day to hook up with single and lonely chicks. You would have thought that these "ones that didn't get picked" would have been happy to have some company, but that wasn't the case. Most of the chicks in there that night weren't looking for anyone, and most seemed content with dancing with their home-girls in a circle. They were (including myself) the "rejects" after all. These were the chicks that found out that day that they were just a "booty-call", and that there was no way their dudes were going to ditch their main girlfriends on Valentines Day to kick it with these "side-skanks", LOL.

Either way, I found myself standing around with my drink in my hand looking just as stupid as the other guys in there that night standing around with their drink in their hand wondering why we were constantly getting shot-down left and right. I finally realized there was one other place I could go; and, having not been there for almost an entire year (March '09) , I booked my 3rd trip to Sosua the next day and ended up going a total of 3 times that year.

Women in sex prison will look at you and determine 1) They will fuck you (sexually; not referring to monetary fucking in this instance, lol), or 2) They have "other options".

As a guy, it's always good to know we also have "other options".

I have only stayed in the jacuzzi suites in the new wing, but I was wondering could anyone tell me if the rooms in the new wing without a jacuzzi also have the bidet in them? I kinda liked when the chicas would use them instead of the shower before sex because some of the chicas look down-right scary after all the make-up washes away in the shower. Asking them to use the bidet was my polite way of saying "keep your make-up on, please". :D

The three times I stayed there (all non jaccuzi rooms) had them. You can make sure with the staff when you book the room.

few comments.

you speak about dressing up to go to the night clubs. i did that during my first couple of trips. it really doesn't make a difference, the chica's don't care, no one cares over there in sosua. esp. in the heat of the tropics you want to wear something comfortable. i usually go commando the entire time.

dr seems to be one of the easiest places for barebacking. never have i heard of this kind of attitude in cr, panama, mexico, brazil. colombia / asia might be looser. dr has upped its game a bit, used to be a lot more looser.

i splurge by my standards when i am there and rarely go over $250 a day (incl food and drinks for me / chicas etc) , thats the best thing about dr, same kind of activity could easily be double or more elsewhere.

i usually end up with the best deals when no money is spoken up front. if a chica doesn't demand or specify her price upfront, she is playing a weak hand and is leaving it up to you. start with the lowest amount you think is right. some are timid or feel uncomfortable asking, you can usually tell. thats some of the times i feel bad i under paid someone more deserving but it makes it up for all the nasty ones that rob you.

that being said, i know its better to always negotiate first as things could turn ugly.

the grand finale.

it's a harsh reality to return to sex prison. even with all it's shortcomings, the dr has provided me a few brief glimpses of what it feels like to be rich and / or famous. it is a powerful and comforting feeling to be surrounded not only by a bunch of attractive women, but nice young tenders as well. i had the opportunity to talk to a few expats as well as some foreign transplants and you can tell by the conversation just how spoiled they are. i will support this assumption later in my report.

as a side note, i wanted to share a hometown experience from this past holiday weekend that made me fiend to be back in the dr. i was in a popular downtown club on christmas eve. i planned on taking it easy, but my bud dragged me out. although i can still party without looking like someones pops or uncle, i'm starting to feel way too old for this shit. most of the women there were anywhere from 10-15 years my junior. one chic was celebrating her 21st bday. damn, time flies.

it is the morning of my final full day in sosua. i wanted to make the most of it. after a slow, sensual morning romp, i was able to get sleeping beauty up and out of the room by noon. i was not going to waste this day being lazy. i wanted to see and do as much as possible. i went to baileys once again for my lunch time breakfast. i really like this place. the food is ok, but my very first trip to sosua created a special bond. there is nothing quite like sitting in the open air restaurant and reminiscing about the previous days mischief. fyi, i saw a fine honey bartending. i never sat at the bar. she would definitely be a treat for somebody. just in case someone likes a challenge.

after i finished eating and checking emails, i walked all around sosua. some parts i had never seen before. some streets were more scarce than others, but i never felt unsafe. i guess it helped that it was around 2 pm and not 2 am lol i don't remember many of the street names, but i walked down one residential type street that led up to pedro clisante. i was on the opposite end of the main strip. i passed passions, but did not go in. in both trips this year, i had no desire to go to passions or cmp. although, i was curious to see how the new passions looked inside. i did plan on stopping through and just have a beer, but i never made it. i ended up squatting at four roses.

i like this bar. trust me. it is nothing fancy at all, but the clientele made it enjoyable and the bartenders are friendly and attentive. i mainly talked with an expat resident and a frequent visitor from florida. btw, i'm jealous as hell of all you catz that live in fl. man, i would probably blow through all my dough flying to all these third world countries for quick hits here and there. the flights are much cheaper and direct, so you save time and money. the frequent visitor is blue collar guy, but still makes his way to the dr 6/7 times a year. if i could find a way to visit that often, i would invest more in some steady novia's than just running wild the entire visit. we talked about a wide range of subjects, but mostly the conversations centered on either politics, religion, and pussy. time seemed to just melt away as i sat at the bar and sipped beer. finally, i found i place where i could just chill and drink my fucking beer! with an added bonus, i noticed more than a few nice chicas past by. the good thing is that they kept it moving. i wasn't in the mood for any attention at that point, so i didn't bother to solicit any female companionship.

i left four roses about 5 pm i was buzzed and i began to feel a little frisky. i headed over to rumba bar to hang out some. the activity started to pick up. earlier during my walk, i saw a beautiful specimen in one of the restaurants. i smiled. she smiled, but i still kept it moving. this was before i got to four roses. i can kick myself for not getting her number because when i passed back later, she was gone. this was a sobering day for me in a lot of aspects because i knew she now would wind up being one that got away. i guess you can't fuck them all. i think the fact that i was working with limited time transformed my laid back approach to something of a tigre.

i purposely went to rumba to find a st before going out that night. there would be no breaks or rest for me today. i was trying to squeeze as much out of this vacation as possible. rumba was ok, but i did not see any stunners or anything that really peaked my interest. i was just looking for a chica with that certain something about her that gave me a clue that she would be a good fuck. i was not looking for romance. i just wanted to pound the shit out of some pussy. man, that v will keep you pumped up! lol i was sitting at the bar scoping out the scene. of course, the money hungry wenches will try and pounce on any dude when he first hits the scene, but i wasn't having it. i tried not to make any contact, but two chicas were right in my view. after all the bs smiling and dancing in their chairs, i said f it and went over to them. i was not attracted to either one of them enough to bed them, but i decided not to be anti-social and strike up a conversation. it would be a good move.

after deflecting their constant offers to leave with me, eventually they settled down and we just kicked it like buds. i bought a few large presidentes and shared it with them. we were riding this one goof who was trying to practically swallow their friend right on the balcony. it was hilarious because when she was allowed to come up from air the look on her face was priceless. if he only knew how annoyed she seemed. but money talks so she wasn't stopping him. it's funny because the two chicas i was talking with told me how they only do certain things with certain men. no bbbj, no daty, no kissing, blah, blah, blah, but for you papi you can have it all. yeah right! i do think there are some women who probably go further with a certain dude, but i don' t think that is the case with them. they were just too eager and appeared desperate for dough. i bet they would do anything to anybody for the right amount and probably for a discounted rate. these chics were borderline 7's, but in this environment they have too much competition. i'm pretty sure 1000 pesos would have sealed the deal.

i was getting hungry. i guess it was near 7 pm i told the chicas that i was going to eat and i would return. i walked back down the other end of pedro clisante to a locals joint i passed earlier. the food was good and super cheap. i had chicken, beans, rice, a tiny salad and bottled water. i think i paid like 3 bucks with tip! the ambiance wasn't great, but i didn't care. the people working there as well as the customers seemed really cool. maybe they thought i was dominican? i walked back to rumba and made a beeline for the bano before going back to the bar. before i could reach the bano, i saw this light bright chica with huge breast and a thick body. i noticed her a few times during my vacation. she also has such a pretty and welcoming smile.

i was tempted to bed her a few days ago, but i didn't pull the trigger. i admit that i was on a power trip at that time. it was all about finding one of the top chicas just to pump my ego, but my agenda had changed (temporarily). seeing all these women floating around had me hornier than a mf. now, it was all about finding someone i felt attracted to and would fuck me good. she fit the bill perfectly. i tried to make a quick break without being noticed by the two other chicas, but i was unsuccessful.

ms. light bright had a real bubbly personality. she was always laughing or smiling. she took really good care of me. although she was a tad bit bigger that i normally choose, she had curves. if she lost some of that stomach, she could raise her status to a solid nine very easily. once in the room, we showered together. it was her request. she took really good care of me. i said that before right? lol she showered my entire body and i returned the favor. when i was washing the pumpum, i noticed she had fat pussy lips and a meaty pussy. i couldn't wait to fuck her. without going into detail, bbbj, daty, dfk, all on the menu. it felt so good to finger her. when i pushed in, the pussy just collapsed on the dick. it was so hot and wet. even with the rubber on, i had to take it easy. the pussy was just that good.

i didn't chill with her too long after that. i think she would have spent the rest of the night with me, but i had other plans. i had talked to my chica from last night during the day. she was coming back to sosua. i somewhat be. s'd her telling her that i wanted her to come. i was supposed to call her back@8 p. m, but i forgot. on purpose. i was concerned about getting too wrapped up into her. anyway, i left the room without showering and i just tossed on some shorts, t shirt, and flip flops. before you call me a dirty mf, i wanted to have a fresh shower before i came back out that night! lol i took the chica back to rumba and we parted ways.

the scene was popping now. i guess the time was somewhere around 8/9 pm i grabbed a beer and scoped out the scene as usual. i didn't want to hang out that long in my current state. some new chicas came on the scene with their clubbing gear, so i was feeling a little bummy. however, that didn't stop this one chic from posting up between my legs. i think someone mentioned her before. she is young. i think she said she was 19, but she had a young tyra banks type body only she was more brown skinned. she had a pretty smile too and at one point i thought she was about to kiss me. i really don't do pda's like that. what surprised the fuck out of me was that she slightly raised the bottom of her short ass dress and showed me straight beaver. she didn't have any panties on? wtf? at one point, she turned her back to me and bent over, but the pussy stayed covered. i really wanted to fuck her, but i was saving my energy for later on that night. i figured her to be a high volume chica because she was so young and pretty with a banging body. it took a lot for me to say no. i did cop me a bunch of free feels / hugs. the chica i had just brought back looked at me with disgust. oh well. i was finally able to shake tyra and was headed out. my two amigas from earlier called me over. i briefly chatted with them. they told me i had that fresh fucked look! lol they were kinda cool about it, but i knew one of them thought she would make some money from me. in a kind gesture, i bought them each a beer and rode back to the room to get dressed.

this is my last night. damn. in a way, i had enough, but the reality of being in sosua and knowing it was coming to an end hurt a little. fuck it. i saved my best gear for the last night. saturday night live! i kicked off my usual routine one last time. i shaved, showered, drank a brew, killed the last of my henny, and then i stepped onto my balcony to take a puffs and stare out into the star filled sosua bay. i savoured a few minutes of the scenery and then put my swagger in full mode. i ain't playing with these bitches tonight. game on!

it was around 11 pm when i hoped off the moto at merengue. the activity had picked up significantly. it was quite a few fine honeys roaming around. my project was in the classico booth, but our "relationship" was kinda strained because i stopped showing her attention. i was kinda pissed for not hooking up with her. i stood at the opposite end of the bar and sipped a brew. i tried my damnest not to make eye contact with anyone, but i couldn't help looking and once in awhile i would get caught so i quickly turned away. one little hatiana strolled up really confident. she was fine, but my spidey sense told me that she was trying to maximize her earnings. she was 20 years old, about 5'4, but with a coca-cola petite body that was crazy right. under any other circumstance, i would have fucked her regardless, but i wasn't pulling the trigger this early and popping back on the scene later. i wanted a tln and even if she was down, i did not want to end my night at this moment. just to mess with her mind, i was like let's go. and she was ready. i told her i was just kidding. she wasn't mad. it was in a joking manner. the bartenders didn't like it at all. the kept giving me these shady ass looks. i did nothing, but stand there. what? i didn't tell little mama to be rubbing all up on me like that.

i used my bano trick to escape little mama's clutches, but i really had to [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140). i came back from the bano and set down next to this older retired german dude. he was cool, but after talking to him for some time he rubbed me the wrong way. he went on and on about $20 and they should be happy to get that. in my mind, i'm like gramps you should feel fortunate to be able to experience such young, hot pussy at your advanced age. this dude is totally out of touch with the real world, but again. this is how those who are down there get spoiled by the surroundings. i could care less how much he paid for his sex. i just didn't get the feeling that he respected them at all. i feel everyone deserves respect no matter your standing. i had to get away from dude before i let him know how i really felt.

it was time to hit the craziness of classico. my project gave me a saddened look and held onto my hand and the was line building. she didn't care. eventually, i pulled away and went upstairs. i got a lot of mean looks this night. i guess a bunch of chics were through with my ass flirting and not buying them drinks or taking them home. i danced some, but mostly stood at the end of the big bar. you really do begin to notice all the same chics after so many days. i could see how this could get tired if i lived or stayed there for a long stretch. i was hoping i could see a chica that i had never seen before. it was not happening. i chilled in the cut for about an hour. i had a great buzz going and the music was pumping. i did notice one light bright little stuck up thing walking around. she didn't say shit to nobody. no chicas, no locals dudes, no mongers, nobody. she was beautiful though.

i'm like damn look at little ms. ice princess. ok, let's really see what is going on. i'm want this chic. i got to have her. this will be the best way to end my vacation. i saw her peek my way on a couple of occasions when she walked around. she was standing about 5 feet away from me and i wanted her. i stared her down. i wasn't being coy about it at all. with my look, she could feel my intentions. after a few minutes, i saw a slight smile crease in her face and in my mind, it was game over. gotcha! damn it, damn it. as soon as i was about to step to her, guess who strolls right up? my fine chica from last night. i knew i would not have the power to deflect her and she fucking knew it. she told me she was at latino's and had three vodka drinks. she was buzzing good. she had a little more mischief to her tonight.

my night was effectively done. i chilled with her the rest of the night. we had a good time dancing and drinking until the club closed. when we got back to the room, it was instantly on and popping. the door couldn't close fully without her being all over me and vice versa. i can't remember all the details, but i do remember being propped up on my elbow sucking her tits. my hand traveled down to her pussy and i couldn't believe what i felt. she was dripping wet and hot. it felt like i stuck my finger in some hot pudding. her pussy was practically bubbling. she was on fire. she pulled on my shoulder urging me to get on top of her. then it happened. my dick just barely grazed her pussy lips and then her hips shifted a bit and my hips lowered a bit. bam, i was inside her raw. oh shit, it felt so muthafucking good! i know i was not thinking straight. i know she was not thinking straight either, but it happened. after going at it for awhile, i thought she had come to her senses and just wanted me to pull out, but she got on all fours so i could hit it doggie. i know i now had an opportunity to strap up, but i just kept fucking her raw. did i say how good she felt? just seeing my dick slide in and out of that wet pussy eventually pushed me over the edge and i came so hard i'm surprised i didn't pull a freakin' hamstring. i don't know if she felt me come or not, but she kept fucking me and my dick stayed hard. all of sudden, she says culo or some shit like that. it took her saying it a few times before it registered in my head. i tried to spit on her asshole like i see in porns, but my drunk ass just kept spitting on her ass. i did maneuver myself in her tight ass for a couple inches and i got a some short strokes in before i collapsed on top of her with my dick still stuck in her ass.

we made slow sensual love that morning. i had some of the best sex of my life with that chica and i really like her personality too, but i can't and won't catch feelings for her because i know the game and she is at least a semi-pro. we exchanged info and texted a few times, but i kinda let things fade to the background. however, i still will forever remember her and that experience. i just hope the doctor doesn't bring any bad news. i'm not proud of my cowboy behavior and i don't condone it. we all make mistakes.

all in all, sosua was a good time. i need more to do in other parts of the dr. my next trip will to the dr will be for two weeks and i will start on the south coast. i got a couple major trips next year that will eat at my time / money, but if i can find a way to sneek away for a prolonged weekend, i can think of no better place than sosua! bay-bay!

Few comments.

You speak about dressing up to go to the night clubs. I did that during my first couple of trips. It really doesn't make a difference, the chica's don't care, no one cares over there in Sosua. Esp. In the heat of the tropics you want to wear something comfortable. I usually go commando the entire time.Aside from sweating my balls off, the one time I did decide to dress up my wingman accidentally tipped over his Presidente and it spilled all over me and the chica sitting in my lap while in Classicos.

And I agree, as hot as it is there commando is the only way to go. The only time I have on boxers is the day I arrive there and the day I depart.

"Clean shirt, new shoes.

And I don't know what I am going to do.

Silk suit, black tie,

I don't need a reason why.

They come runnin' just as fast as they can.

Cause every girl is crazy 'about a sharp dressed man."

The Dominicanas, even the pros are usually more receptive when I have a nice shirt and nice pants. I have gone to venues wearing shorts and sandals and didn't really feel comfortable. Dockers and a button down, collared shirt, short sleeve with a straight hem so it doesn't have to be tucked in (shirts from Quicksilver, usually made of polysonic type material which doesn't wrinkle and dries fast if you have to hand wash it during a trip).

Dominican men oftentimes wear long sleeve button down collared shirts.

As a guy, it's always good to know we also have "other options".As a working class or middle class North American, you are rich in 95% of the world or so. This includes DR, Mexico, SE Asia, and on and on. WE have uncountable options. I have told one or two US girls this in no uncertain terms. I still remember walking into a bar in Sosua around noon and just wanting a drink. A cute 18 year old smiles. I flag her over just wanting to talk, and she offers me some attention for only 1, 200 pesos or so. Keep in mind, I wasn't shopping for any. When I tell girls that I travel for my business and to teach, they know damn well that I don't have to take nonsense from them. And some act accordingly.

It is a dissertation in sociology / anthropology and centers around the Sosua scene 1990-2003.

I spend about 4 mo. Of every year in the DR and Sosua. Good read which to 90% confirms my own research / conclusions.

This reminded me of my last (read "final") night club experience in sex prison last year.

Women in sex prison will look at you and determine 1) They will fuck you (sexually; not referring to monetary fucking in this instance, LOL) , or 2) They have "other options".

As a guy, it's always good to know we also have "other options".Put this post in Reports of Distinction.

Few comments.

You speak about dressing up to go to the night clubs. I did that during my first couple of trips. It really doesn't make a difference, the chica's don't care, no one cares over there in Sosua. Esp. In the heat of the tropics you want to wear something comfortable. You are preaching to the choir now brother. You are talking about a guy that wore a suit and gators to Help Disco his first few times in Rio. Now I'm all shorts, tank tops, and flip flops in the clubs in Thailand. As one of my wingmen would say,"You don't have to impress no hos."

ZZ Top:

"Clean shirt, new shoes.

And I don't know what I am going to do.

Silk suit, black tie,

I don't need a reason why.

They come runnin' just as fast as they can.

Cause every girl is crazy 'about a sharp dressed man." Jao I think you missed the most important lyrics in the song:

"Top coat, top hat. But I don't wear it cause my wallet's fat!

U don't have to dress to the nine but presentation of one self is DEFINITELY important. If your one of those guys that wear a Hawaiian shirt with wrinkle shorts and some old sandals that you had since '79, and smelling like old spice from a cologne that your mom gave you when you were a kid then yeah good luck attracting a fine honey and paying market value buddy. Whatever broad you take home she's planing to tax you for sleeping with your funky ass LOL.

I keep it simple. The way I dress or look fresh when I'm home in the states when I go out is the same presentation I'ma do when I'm down there.

Or as my pimp partner once told me."I don't impress these hoes I impress myself" Ya dig!

As a man of color I try to blend in on occasion in the DR. I will wear my jeans and a decent t shirt. I noticed Dominican men almost never wear shorts. I am not sure how well it works. I know I can tell when I see an another American Black or white. However I have the illusion that I am blending in. As long as I keep my mouth shut it seems to work. If I go to a disco or casino I want to look the part of big popi American. You actually get treated a little better. I think you draw the top shelf chicas or at least have them looking which I like. Like everything else cloths can be a tool on some occasions.

Are you serious Mr E? That is funny. Never have I seen one in a suit at any of these places. So you know what we are talking about. The chicas adore you ($$) no matter how you dress. They can smell a tourist, regardless of your clothes, color etc. Once they know that, next thing that matters is how you treat them and how willing you are to spend your money. Buying drinks to chicas at the club is a big plus, esp. If they like to party. Classico is such a great petting zoo, you can have a young attractive honey grinding / kissing / romancing you all night just for a few drinks, Just imagine how much that alone can cost you at "Sex Prison". After all the king treatment for several hours I have ended up not picking them due to other intangibles (like they cannot do TLN due to baby at home, bla bla). I felt sorry but I want what I want and there were still choices, it only happened couple of times.

My Classico monger suggestion would be a T-shirt with a collar or a shirt and decent dress shorts. Of course your stuff is going to be bought in US/Europe and makes difference. At a regular night club at SD or Santiago it would be more apt to dress up like Jao mentioned.

As a guy, it's always good to know we also have "other options".I cannot gather myself to go to another sex prison night club, even if pros were available. Imagine how much you would have to pay and how bad the service would be. I have "other options" locally. Today I had a Mexican buddy take me to a "40 dollar" place. You get limited time, CFS, but it works when you haven't had any in a while. She gets a poker chip for every customer and I was there at closing time and there were about 10 chips;) Mami was big but tight.

This is really nothing new, but this morning I was talking to a couple of young guys from New York who have been here before at least once, and they had just moved their accommodations partly because of being hassled by Dominican guys who are trying to "help" them. They told me that last night one of these guys was arrested by the cops right in front of them, so they got out of the way.

General rule of thumb is that if some Dominican guy who knows some English approaches and offers to help you find chicas, be your tour guide, etc. Tell them to drop dead and fuck off, not necessarily in that order. Do not under any circumstances offer them a drink or any food. This is equivalent to putting out a saucer of milk for a stray cat. Once they know where you stay and have established themselves as your "friend", the only way to get rid of them is to stop feeding them.

The problems is that they will want money from you for being your "friend" and introducing you to girls, then they will also be extorting money from the girls they introduce you to, so that will push up the price of the services of the girls too. Anyway, you just don't need these guys. The girls are more than capable of introducing themselves and ripping you off without the help of a pimp.

I must say I have never had a problem of this kind in Sosua, but I did once in Boca Chica, because when I met the guy I actually thought he was an American. I only got rid of the guy when I told him I wanted him to come to the Tourist Police with me. Anyway these guys managed to locate one of these tourist guides in Sosua and found him to be a complete nuisance.

Do what works for you. You can list a number of variables that aren't needed in Sosua. We all have our preferences. I'm not going to judge you and your Kmart short set and you don't worry about what I wear. I won't dress down because I'm in Sosua. I wear the same clubbing gear there as I would in the US. I like how some feel they have to school you on what to do. I like dimes and you'd better believe that most of the time you need to step your game up. I guess washing your ass and brushing your teeth isn't needed as well, but I can just imagine the skanks that you will bring home.

In the clubs there, what matters is not clothing style but as rightly mentioned, if and how much one is going to splurge.

In Santiago, on the contrary, in November, I was wearing a casual short sleeve collarless t-shirt and long pants with a baseball cap and I was not allowed to go in a dance club. I was alone so my take is that single guys spell trouble? What was funny is that the night before, I went in dressed the same way sans baseball cap but with a lovely chica and no one flinched.

Unfortunately there are always some visitors who like to play the flash American "big spender" and like nothing better than have these asskissers dancing attendance on them. They thinking they are impressing people but in fact the locals and ex-pats just laugh at them because they know most of these parasites and that they only settle on easy marks.

The problem is that they will want money from you for being your "friend" and introducing you to girls, then they will also be extorting money from the girls they introduce you to, so that will push up the price of the services of the girls too.You mean normally that is the problem. But if these petty criminals (because that is what most of them are) learn where you are living, or when you are leaving, or your favorite haunts and chicas, or which pocket you keep your cash or cards in, etc, etc, you could loose a lot more than a few hundred or a few thousand pesos extra on chica prices.

Stay away from Dominican and Haitian males in Sosúa. If they are not obviously engaged in some honest job (in which case they won't have time to pester you) leave them well alone. Don't give this vermin the time of day.

The point is that they can do nothing for you that you cannot do for yourself. Except boost your ego if you are a total prat.

But honestly, chicas will not know the difference between Kmart brand or Calvin Klein. The only thing that truly matters to them is that you have the pesos to pay them and that you pay them what you both agreed on.

I've never had a chica check me for clothing labels. I've pulled "dimes" (highly subjective term) walking around at 3pm in crocs, shorts, a white tee, and a towel around my neck, lol.

But as Temporteco said, outside of Sosua (like Santiago) it may be a different story.

I am planning a trip to Sosua next month but I could save two hundred dollars if I fly into Santiago. My problem is my flight get in and leave very early in the morning so I wanted to take a taxi but I cannot get a price. I heard that a oneway fare was $80, then $100 and now 35 dollars. I know about the two bus lines but because of the early flight times I would need a taxi. In the past I would just flight to POP with one connection total time under nine hours but now it is not that easy. Now two connection with a minimum time of over fifthteen hour to POP or an eight hour flight to STI and with the cab or bus ride will still be faster. Thanks for the help.

I found several people going to Sosua each flight coming into Santiago, maybe even start asking people at your last layover while the plane is boarding.

Most first-time visitors have little or no Spanish. Some guys have been coming for ten years and are still that way.

Very safe and fairly-priced places to start are Blackbeards and Field of Dreams. Or for a bit more variety, stay in Sosúa and hook up with more experienced guys to show you the ropes. Rocky's Bar is a good place to meet mongers.

Of course you can visit other places without Spanish but you might find yourself paying more than Spanish speakers one way or another or missing a few tricks.

If you can learn a few basic words and phrases (especially numerals for prices!) it will enhance your trip but it is not essential.

I am new to the scene and am dying to go to the DR to meet some of those beautiful honeys. Just wondering if it is possible to do this with very little knowledge of Spanish.Yes, amigo (Spanish for friend) you can meet honeys without speaking Spanish. But it would be a good idea to have a laptop or iPhone with Google Translate, so that you can communicate with them a bit. And even if you only have a couple of weeks lead-in time, you can learn some basic Spanish phrases like greetings and please and thank you before you come. There are lots of people LIVING in Sosua who hardly speak a word of Spanish OR English, and they are surviving perfectly well with their German, Russian, or Canadian French.

(Courtesy Google Translator with corrections by me.)

With this program you can actually speak a phrase in English, and it will translate it into Spanish and then play it back aloud in Spanish. Sometimes it gets it wrong, but the key to this is to keep your English inputs simple and grammatical.

Here's the deal. You save $200 but you incur the additional huge inconvenience of flying in and out at ungodly hours, and the additional expense of extra taxis, overnight stays in Santiago, and so on. You fly to POP, you are in your hotel room 45 minutes after landing, and on the day of departure, you have your room, bathroom, hotel pool, etc. Until a few minutes before you leave for the airport which is 10 minutes away.

It isn't worth it. However, if you really need to cut $200 off your total trip expenses, there are a couple of possibilities:

1. Check the price for each day of the week on American Airlines and see if you can change your flights to cheaper days of the week. For example Wednesday is much cheaper than Thursday, and it is cheaper to fly out on a Sunday (I think).

2. Consider cutting your trip one day shorter to save $200.

Either of these is better than going through all that hassle of late night / early morning travel. However, with an 8-hour direct flight to Santiago or 15 hours to POP, you sounds like you may be coming from Europe, so would have to take into account time differences etc. and what I am saying may not apply.

I have always flown out on Sundays and when I am playing around with the travel dates on Travelocity or Orbitz I find that the Monday departure dates bring down your fare some. I've also noticed that this applies to other destinations as well (CR, MDE, SDQ, etc.).

Absolutely agree 110%. The other advantage of being only 10 minutes away from the airport is on departure day you still have plenty of time to squeeze in a chica or two before checking out, and still have enough time for the free breakfast as well. Both New Garden and Terra Linda have always let me do late check-outs without any extra charge.

To enter and exit a cabaña (leaving your valuables in the room) with the intention of re-entering the same room later in the night, you would have to speak with a worker at the cabana (I am not sure whether they do that). Each room of the cabaña has a parking spot with a garage door. The way you know a room is available, is when a garage door is open. The only way into the room is through the space where you would park the car. Once you have entered the parking space for the room, you touch a button on the wall and the garage door closes and then you enter the room through a door (which you can lock from the inside). At a cabaña you are never given a room key. When you have finished your business in the cabaña room, you open the garage door and eventually exit the cabana complex. The workers outside see you exit and they enter the room to clean it (usually when they are cleaning it, they will put a traffic cone blocking the entrance of the parking space or they will close the garage door half way).

Probably you could speak with a worker at the cabaña and tell him you are coming back to the room, but your luggage will be in the room where the cabaña workers have access to it, as well as anyone else who might be able to sneak into the room (unless the cabaña workers have a way to close the garage door and lock it from the outside until you return). If you do all of that, you had better remember which room your stuff is in.

If you had a trustworthy taxi driver who picked you up at the santiago airport, you could leave your luggage in the taxi, stop at pasion after exiting the airport, have the taxi driver sit in his car with your luggage in it, while you enter Pasion to choose a hoochie and then drive to a cabaña with the hoochie mama. Cabaña rentals are usually 4 hours (you can stay for as long as you want, if you want 8 hours, just tell the worker). Zeus Cabaña which is close to Pasion nightclub, the one time I used it, years ago, was nothing special, I paid about 480 pesos (about $12US) for the room for a 4 hour rental. In that same area on the main road heading into the center of santiago are at least 5 cabañas. Bora Bora is probably the nicest. If the Hoochie wants to leave before you are ready to exit, you can pick up the phone in the room and ask the worker at the cabana to call a taxi for the woman. Same can be done when you are ready to exit. You can order food and drinks (including breakfast) at many cabañas. All transactions and deliveries of towels, soap, extra sheets, food, condoms, drinks, and payment of the bill is done through a small door in a wall in the room, the person on the other side of that small door doesn't see you.

And you would land on the north coast 15 minutes from Sosua, hence getting laid within an hour of landing instead of getting on a bus.

Getting into POP from any other place in the US but NYC, are often times cost-prohibitive. I just refuse to pay $900 for an economy RT ticket.

And the logistics of STI are daunting: AA arrives at 8m, Spirit at 3 am. Getting to Sosua by bus is out-of-the-question, and I will not even ride a taxi to Sosua a nighttime. Just too dangerous which ever of the three routes they go.

And then there is credit card churning. Which is what I do. Rather than pay $800+ on AA to POP for an economy class ticket, I'll fly in and out for $130 in taxes in business class. Five days after my return, I 'll be bound for Germany on US Airways for $135 RT. .

Zeus Cabaña is on the same side road as Pasion and by car is less than 2 minutes from Pasion.

All transactions and deliveries of towels, soap, extra sheets, food, condoms, drinks, and payment of the bill is done through a small door in a wall in the room, the person on the other side of that small door doesn't see you.Very good info on cabanas for those who are not familiar. $12 for 4 to 8 hrs is a steal. Well, in that case you can leave the bags in the taxi trunk while at Pasion, you can also inform the security guys outside Pasion and point out the taxi and driver to be more safe. But you definitely want to pre negotiate with the taxi driver incl. Wait time to avoid surprises. Pasion can offer many choices and picking one / negotiating can take a while. Having a Pasion chica onsite (ST only) is slightly cheaper but the habitations are not great and the chica will hurry you. Take her to the cabana with you for better experience. Negotiate multi hour deal or TLN (anyhere between 2k to 4k). You'll be asked to pay to the guy at the restaurant / bar outside. He speaks English and they have 'money back guarantee'. You can ask him about it with the chica, a good reassurance.

Such disparity of the quality of the "regular" chicas from the north and the south with the North sometimes make me feel like I want to never come back and the South looking like I would never want to leave, je je je. My friend I hope all of your kind offers still stand when I finally make it to the south! .

I guess washing your ass and brushing your teeth isn't needed as well, but I can just imagine the skanks that you will bring home.Whats wrong with kmarts short sets? Haha, but I go to Wall Mart for my "fresh gear" (translation nice clothing). (LOL) , but sometimes it "Aint wutcha look like, but wutcha smell like"I couldn't agree with you more Alwayshorny2, I've notice from reading no matter what you report, some negative ass person, going to take issue with your opinion. I, myself wear clean fresh and baggy khaki or jean cargo shorts (notice I said baggy, but not sagging off my ass) a Tall white Tee, pearl white socks, and some low top nike Airforce 1s and then "I'm there like swim wear". But the key is hygiene, before I step out, a nice half hour very hot, shower, deodarant but here's the key, body spray or scented body lotion, I wear, (Armani Acqua di gio cologne and body lotion) The chicas rave on and on, on how good I smell, and that all over body spray, makes for a great BBBJ, and had one chica, slobbing on that knob, for almist a hour, raving how good I smelled (she probaly was thinking about the pesos). LOL best sex in a long time, but just "Do you" and don't worry about them negative folks, keep up, them amazing insightful, entertaining reports. (Big 7foot!) shoutout to Coolie High, Tom "always traveling" jackin, Mandingo Al, Savepro, Jaososua, Mr Gogo, and the rest of you Mighty Mongers that share infornation, that makes us newbies life a helluva lot easier. Ill be in Sosua on April 2nd at New Gardens, just asked for El Caballo Negro (the black horse) and ill come galloping. Peace!

Spanish would make a trip to the DR easier and more enjoyable but certainly not necessary. I have visited Sosua 5 times and speak zero Spanish. I quickly learned how to play and enjoy the game. If you want an absolutely stress free and safe trip try Black Beards. Read the trip reports. They contain lots of useful information.Couldn't agree more. You can get by knowing the basics but knowing spanish will take your game to a new level. I find that the chicas that know a fair amount of English tend to be the ones that you always see in clasicco pure hoes. Been there 4 times in the past year and finally learning to speak to my neighbors here in NY since the only speak spanish. Now I know when they talkin shit about me. Keep learning only makes things better.

Hey everyone, I'm going to Sosua for the first time and I'm looking for a little general information. My questions range all over the place, so please answer what you can if you have a moment or two.

1. I've been to San Jose, Costa Rica a few times. It was recommended that you don't bring any large bills down there because they're not accepted by hotels, etc. Is it the same in Sosua? Do I need a huge pile of twenties or can I bring the more manageable large bills?

2. Being that it's my first time, I'm staying at the New Garden. Got a room for $60 / night. Basic room in the old wing. Are they decent or should I upgrade to the New wing? Are the jacuzzi rooms nice? I wouldn't mind paying a little more if it will enhance the experience. But if it's negligible, I'll stay in the basic room. I'm going for a total of 6 nights.

3. I know about Passions and the CMP Night Club and plan on hitting each one at least once. Are there any other places like 'them in Sosua? Do any of the bars have lesser operations? I. E. Just a few girls working with a few empty rooms available?

4. At this point in Sosua, are there independent girls available for pick up in most of the bars, providing you go late enough at night?

5. Options in the sack: Specifically, If I pull a girl at Passions or CMP, is an uncovered BJ fine? Eating pussy? GFE? Anal? I heard that negotiation is not allowed at those places, so I'm curious what is specifically offered.

6. Weed or whatever. If someone was interested in getting a little weed or whatever. Not me, this is just a theoretical question. Is that relatively easy? Is it too dangerous in relation to the criminal element or johnny law?

Appreciate your time.

I've been to their website and seen the "menu" but services seem to be defined strictly in terms of duration. If anyone can help, what I'd really like to know before I go is whether things like BBJ, MSOG and DFK are standard and whether some girls offer more PSE services like CIM / COF and GREEK. For that matter, any comments on what service levels are to be expected from P4P in the DR would be welcome as my upcoming trip will be my first time using P4P here.

If certain things are important to you it is best discussed before sealing the deal, discussing specifics like "greek" with a girl can many times turn the conversation into an awkward one but it is better than the situation you will put yourself in during the session if you don't discuss it. Personally I only discuss length of time with a girl. The only constant at Passions is BBBJ is mandatory there, if a girl refuses and Peter finds out she is fired. As for the others like CIM, COF and GREEK I have had all of these from Passion girls but it is rare.

Appreciate your time.1. Bring large bills and exchange into pesos, it will save you money.

2. If it isn't a deal breaker for you upgrade to the new wing, you'll be glad you did. I've never stayed in a jacuzzi room.

3. When you ask about places similar to Passions or CMP I assume you are referring to on site rooms and the answer to that is no. Personally I thought CMP sucked, the girls are extremely aggressive as well as the staff, both of my visits I lasted about five minutes.

4. Absolutely, you can go earlier and sit somewhere that has seating on the sidewalk or at least open to the sidewalk as there are girls trolling the area earlier, not nearly as many in the old days but still plenty but as you have already figured out the real parade starts later.

5. I can only speak of Passions and the negotiations not allowed are referring to the price not the girl's services. You will be hard pressed to find many girls at Passions that will do anal, they make plenty of money without doing it but there's always one or two that will, finding out which one will is a little tricky though.

6. Sorry but that's just a stupid question, then again at least you had the smarts to ask the question. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. Weed is illegal in the DR and there is nothing worse than being a gringo in a DR jail. You will be there for weeks or most likely months just waiting to see a judge and when you do it will cost you a ton of dough to get out. THE DR IS A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY, DON'T DO ILLEGAL THINGS THERE. Yes, weed and other things are easily available, the weed sucks for the most part. I like smoking weed as much or more than anyone on this board and I wouldn't even think of doing it and I have the connections to get out of jail quickly. GET THAT THOUGHT OUT OF YOUR DAMN HEAD, PERIOD.

I've stayed in the jacuzzi suite twice and it was great. The truth is though, I only got around to using the jacuzzi once, but the atmosphere of the room enhanced the experience greatly. You can also get a room in the new wing without a jacuzzi for $80/$74 cash. They should be exactly the same as the jacuzzi suite minus the jacuzzi (electronic safe, large tv, bidet, etc.). I had two buddies that stayed in the old wing and their rooms reminded me of some of the barracks my jar head buddies lived in. The old wing is definitely not a place I would do 6 nights in, but if you are one of those guys that only needs "four walls and a bed" they fit the bill I guess.

4. You can find all the independent chicas you can handle in Merengue Bar, Classicos (upstairs from Merengue Bar) , Rumba Bar, (sometimes) El Flow and Latinos. To find either of them just ask someone where the "Pedro Clisante" is, or ask for each by name. If you exit New Garden (NG) and head left, as the street curves around the first intersection you come to is the Pedro Clisante (PC). Just look to your right and there is the main drag with all the bars lined (somewhat) in a row. Rumba Bar will be across the street from El Flow / Latinos. The PC picks up around 8pm and Classicos starts to get filled up around midnight. Merengue Bar is a good spot to watch all of the sexy chicas going upstairs into Classicos, but there is a good chance you won't make it up there right away since a lot of chicas hang around Merengue Bar as well.

6. See Manizales911 and Professor 1's advice.

Hey I want to thank you guys that took the time to answer my questions. I got nothing but good advice and information I certainly appreciate it. For sure I'll be upgrading my hotel room. If not to the jacuzzi room, at least to the new wing. And I'll be staying away from anything illegal. It was going to be a small part of my trip, at most, if it was low risk. But I don't want to end up on an episode of "Locked Up Abroad." Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow.

Again, appreciate it and I'll post a trip report when I get back.

SavePro, funny you mention the bidet. You really like that French stuff. B. T. W.. the rooms in the new wing I stayed there was no large tv. Just an average picture tube. I never turned that thing on, TV is the last thing I want in Sosua. I should try the jaccuzi room once. My last trip, my buddies stayed at the old wing, the rooms were not so bad IMHO. They were much smaller, not too much room to walk around and the bathrooms were older but everything worked. Plus some of the old wing room are in a great location, esp. during daytime to sit out and have a drink or a smoke. They are right by the pool in the first floor.

Appreciate your time.If its for you or not, the guys on the street (hustlers + motoconchos) will offer you weed and all other stuff without even you asking for it. Being sober, you'll most problably walk away from this, but at times when you are in seventh heaven they may trap you and become your buddies (or in reality leaches). Never mind the stuff they offer you is bogus or useless, they won't let you be alone anymore and make your stay miserable by hounding you therafter. Apart from hounding or petty crimes, they have developed wings and will try their new tricks at any unsuspecting/easy tourist targets. I am not saying dont take a motococho, if you have to do so but only for that purpose.

MY ADVICE TO NEWBIES, IF YOU AVOID THESE GUYS FROM THE GET GO AND STEER CLEAR, YOUR SOSUA TRIPS WILL BE WONDERFUL AND YOU WILL HAVE ETERNAL BLISS IN THE LAND OF WARM AND WELCOMING PUSSIES.

SavePro, funny you mention the bidet. You really like that French stuff.I have no use for it personally, LOL. Like I said, for ST I ask chicas to use it as sort of a polite way of saying "please keep your make-up on" which would just wash completely off in the shower. I guess I make a big deal about it because I am one of those guys that likes to keep the lights on while banging in order to get the "full effect". I'm sure you've run into chicas (hell, all women world-wide in general) in where once the make-up came off you were like "damn, what happened to the broad that was here a just few minutes ago?".

And I agree. Both of my rooms in the new wing were on the first floor but just too damn far from the pool. I always ended up sitting in front of my wingman's room (which was in the old wing on the first floor directly in front of the pool). Best damn view in the house!

Last year was my first time going to Sosua. I went solo and the first day I had show me around after that I realize everything I wanted to check out was on ONE STREET. After the first day he kept asking if I needed a tour, I told him no. No matter where I went and what time it was just always find me crying he's hungry and other bull. After the 3rd day I had to yell at him to go away. It lasted about two days then he pops up again like he didn't remember me telling him to go away.

Yea those guys can really put you in a bad mood sometimes. I hate to be rude to a local in a different country, but sometimes they really push you.

Are there still kids / hustlers hanging out at the rumba bar or classicos in the late evenings or nights. There particularly annoying.

If its for you or not, the guys on the street (hustlers + motoconchos) will offer you weed and all other stuff without even you asking for it . I am not saying dont take a motococho, if you have to do so but only for that purpose.I spent a total of eight months in the DR spread over eight trips, and I have now been living here for two and half years. I can honestly say that I have never once been offered weed or drugs. I agree with using motos only if there is no other convenient option, but where I live and with my routine I have to use them a lot. They are dangerous and I have already been lucky to walk away from one accident with hardly a scratch.

The point about buying weed or illegal drugs is not so much that the danger of the cops catching you. They are lazy and incompetent. The danger is that you will be framed by the seller acting in concert with a cop and sometimes a lawyer and / or puta are involved too. Same applies to under-age girls.

I have changed USD$100 at certain places, but the bills are new. You cannot go wrong bringing USD$20s. I always ask my bank for new bills in advance.

You can find independents at any time, including the early afternoon.

I advise you to avoid such activities.Professor, please expound on your comment about new bills, I'm not sure what difference it makes new vs. Old.

Professor, please expound on your comment about new bills, I'm not sure what difference it makes new vs. Old.New bills can mean two things in this case. I am not necessarily speaking of the DR when I say this because for the most part I use the ATMs there and do not exchange money. But in countries where exchanging money gets a better rate new means:

1) The current series.

2) Bills that are not worn, torn, or faded.

Once the bank gave me a note from the old series of $100 bills. In Thailand when you exchange money at some places they put it through a machine and it tells them whether to accept it or not. The machine rejects the old series. Likewise places that don't have a machine will not accept the old series.

If a bill is worn, torn, or faded, places are inclined not to accept it. I had a torn bill in Peru once and the guy did not want to exchange it at first, but I settled to take a lower rate from him in exchange for the torn bill. In essence, it would be wise to make sure the currency you are looking to exchange is in good condition.

Good intel and thanks! I wasn't aware of the difference and the resulting process either. This is my first trip to DR, so this will be a fact finding trip. I am taking it that "large Bills" means $100's or $50's (US Dollars). What would be better? I have read the forum and I am still a little unclear on the best place to exchange Dollars to Pecos. I will be staying at BB in Puerto Plata for a few days then I might go to Sosua for the remainder of my stay. Should I exchange them at BB or go to a bank?

Thank you,

I am 54 years old and have been offered things of that nature several times whereas I have traveled with some younger friends and they have been approached numerous times.

Your point about being framed is very well taken, not that I would do anything stupid such as buy drugs in a third world country, I just hope the poster that inquired heeds your advise.

I have bought weed from total strangers in: México, The Bahamas, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Colombia (it is legal there though) , Argentina, Perú, Thailand, Spain, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada (as well as my native US where I can now do so legally). I only do it "on the spot," meaning if they don't have it with them I don't go anywhere or wait around or anything. Then I leave immediately and don't return to that general area for a couple of days at least. I have never had a problem.

Yet.

Sir Charles, no disrespect intended but I think the reason you haven't been offered any drugs is because of your age.Of course you are right that is a consequence of my "profile", of which age is the most important element, but I am sure I could greatly enhance the chances of my being offered illegal substances, even at my advanced age, by dressing and behaving like a total dickhead.

I only do it "on the spot," meaning if they don't have it with them I don't go anywhere or wait around or anything.Good advice if it works out that way. Most times it takes a minute or two of uncomfortable wait time or having to come back in 20 minutes.

In regards to the countries you mentioned I agree minus Thailand and Colombia. Smoking in Thailand would scare the shit out of me. When I first went to Colombia kids were smoking out in the public parks with a police officer present. The next time I went back they were playing a cat and mouse game with the cops who did rounds every 15 minutes. IMHO Colombia is a grey area due to the american influence with the drug war. IMHO I would say YES and NO but don't get caught. There have been marches in Medellin rallying against the repealing of the consumo law. It was unclear to me what the laws really are. As a gringo I wouldn't push it.

Peru is a buzzkill in many ways. Available but in general not accepted by mainstream culture as in Mexico. Even chicas will gawk at you with bulging eyes when you admit to it. I had a VERY close call once in Lima. Had to flush gemstones! I just couldn't take the risk and my instincts gave me red flags all over the place.

The DR is a MAJOR buzzkill. Who wouldn't give a nut to chill out on a nice beach or in the mountains appreciating the beauty of this earth with a cool buzz. The culture in the DR is way too conservative for it. Forget the motoconcho guys or the hip hop want to be's. The majority of the country frowns upon ANY drug. Herion / Marijuana are all the same in countries like these.

I'd hate to see a fellow monger go down without knowing the dire consequences some countries impose on drug users. If anything always buy small as annoying as it might be.

My only problem was I was so paranoid I almost did not enjoy myself. I was surprised at how many chicas did not smoke. Here almost all do.

Professor, please expound on your comment about new bills, I'm not sure what difference it makes new vs. Old.In many countries, like Costa Rica, Mexico, and Guatemala, banks and exchange houses will not take torn or damaged bills. Even a slight rip can be fatal. This could be a problem if you only have large bills. So, as Lonely Planet suggests in a few of its series, I only travel with new, undamaged bills. I tell my bank what I need about a week in advance, and how I want it split. When I arrive, the bank has new, clean bills for me. I do not know if the DR is as strict, but many countries are.

I will be staying at BB in Puerto Plata for a few days then I might go to Sosua for the remainder of my stay. Should I exchange them at BB or go to a bank?

Thank you,

JJWhen I went to BB's I was told (by the vets in the Puerto Plata forum) to exchange my dollars at Jenny's Supermarket as they have a better exchange rate than you will find at BB's. While on the way to BB's from the airport I asked the driver to stop at Jenny's (probably pronounced "Henny's" in Spanish, but they should know it in English) , and you go into a secure room at the back of the store and do the exchange. When I needed to exchange more dollars for pesos I just walked to Jenny's (BB's is in a secure residence, so you'll be fine. If concerned just as a monger to walk with you) to exchange more. We got lost but everyone in the neighborhood helped us find where we needed to go. Check with the guys in the Puerto Plata forum to make sure that Jenny's is still in play.

As far as Sosua, I mostly use the ATM's, but sometimes they do not work or run out of money towards the weekend. If you still have dollars I always use the Cambio (exchange house) in between El Flow and the clothing store. BUT I would only go there between morning and afternoon when the older gentleman is there. I would not go there at night as other Senior mongers have posted that the young guy there at night will try to rip you off, even going as far as handing you fake bills. Supposedly there is also a guy from the beach who can meet you at your hotel if you have a large amount of money to exchange, and many mongers on this site can vouch for his credibility. Check back a few pages on this forum to find out the guy's name and contact number. I have never exchanged money with the guys in the street, so can't comment there. You can also take your passport into the bank and stand in line to do a transfer from your checking account at Banco Popular, but the line was so long that I did not bother with it. I have also exchanged money at the Western Union that is on the way to Sosua from the airport, but I would may sure that you had "New Bills" because one monger reported that they ripped him off by saying that one of his $100 bills was a fake and that they were keeping it to further investigate, LOL.

I like to use OANDA's currency converter: http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter

But all you have to do to know how much you should receive back when exchanging dollars is to take the exchange rate and multiply it by the amount of dollars you are exchanging. This will tell you how many pesos you should receive back:

ex. $100USD x 38.00DOP = $3,800 DOP (Dominican Pesos)

If you wanted to know something like how much short time (ST) sex with a chica should cost you in Dollars:

1500DOP/38.00DOP = $40.00

Most of the times the people you are exchanging with will have a calculator and will show you the amount you are receiving back, but it wouldn't hurt to have your own pocket calculator so that you can see for yourself what you should expect to receive back. ALWAYS ask them what exchange rate they are giving you. It should be anywhere between 36-38. Someone else who has been there recently maybe can comment on this.

If I exchange $2000 the difference in the two rates would be about $25. I think $25 would be a small amount to pay for the convenience.

There is more discussion here on weed and booze than at AA. LOL.
I enjoy a drink but isn't a woman (or a harem- for some) inebriating enough and a lot headier? Add then a nice beach, blue water, full stomach and a beer to go with it. Where else is paradise? But then I am just an old fashioned male!

The whole point of the DR is that it is a place you can go where (like many countries) it is legal to pay for sex, unlike the US where you could be entrapped or arrested for doing so. It seems rather contrarian, to say the least, to go the the DR for legal sex and then spend your time there using illegal drugs which could lead to you being entrapped and arrested. Obviously you can get away with paying for sex in the US or using illegal drugs in the DR most of the time, but the consequences of getting on the wrong side of the law in either case can be very severe, and if you have a responsible job or official position, for example in government, education, social services, law enforcement, you might even end up jobless and unemployable, especially if you miss work time while detained overseas.

Do not underestimate these chicas in the age of computers and technology. A Haitiana saw me carrying a small flat screen TV with a computer cable attached and said,"Quiero eso. Puedo aggregar un CPU y una tecla, pues tendre una computadora de mesa."

Useful phrase: "Amigo con derechos". Friend with benefits.

I asked what is the difference between a friend with benefits and a novio."A novio loves you and gives you plenty of gifts, and can kiss you and make love to you whenever he wants. A friend with benefits has to make a date and give you money for sex."

"When you are pregnant, you have an ultrasound and they tell you if the baby is a boy or a girl. Then you can go out and buy clothes for a boy or for a girl."

"Why do you do that?"

"You get white or blue clothing for a boy and pink for a girl so that other people can know the sex of the baby."

1. Renting a car, giving up your passport, having a "problem" (minor damage to a concho bumping you) and being extorted in exchange for return of your passport; (see: impedimento de salida)

2. Trying to get "free pussy" or developing a "relationship" with the girls, then finding yourself entrapped on false charges for abuse, or even worse, if you've been hanging around the kids and family, these charges can get insane;

3. Being in possession of illegal drugs, or someone planting illegal drugs;

4. Buying property in the Dominican Republic, people thinking you are wealthy, having a fake deed drawn up, being tied up in court, charged impossible fines you can't pay, deciding between prison time for non-payment or leaving the country;

5. Anything else they may find to "entrap" you into their "legal system" that will create a "impedimento de salida", possession of your passport, or even worse, encarceration;

6. Finally, they don't just arrest you and set you out on bail until trial or resolution, you wait there until they decide;

GOOD LUCK, no matter how "Dominican" you think you are, or how much of a "Tigre" you may be, you are a foreigner, and perceived to be wealthy. Take care, have fun, but love 'them and leave 'them

Would it be wise to rent a car for a day or two to take a Chica on a day trip? Is so, where would be somewhere interesting to go, and where should I rent a car near BB.

Thanks in advanced.

JJJimJames,

seeing as this will be your first time going to the DR you should forget about renting a car. Read these two reports if you think I am kidding you:

Keep in mind that the horror gets magnified by 1000 if you speak little to no Spanish.

Also,

Just stick with the taxis and save yourself a major dolor de cabeza (headache). A taxi from BB's to Sosua should be 1500. You will not need a taxi while in Sosua until you are ready to go to the airport. Everything in Sosua is within walking distance. If you don't feel like walking, a motochoncho (the guys flying around on the motorcycles (dirtbikes)) will take you to and from your destination for 100 pesos (50 pesos each way).

Has anyone stayed at Casa Valeria or rockys? How do these hotels compare to the new garden? Is Rocky's located on the same street as NG?I stayed one night in Casa Valeria and changed then to Linda. Just for example, Valeria's washbasin has only cold water. But its ok.

I stayed one night in Casa Valeria and changed then to Linda. Just for example, Valeria's washbasin has only cold water. But its ok.Wow. That's a detail I would not notice, especially in a hot country where cold is better.almost!

I was there in September last year. I found the place to be excellent. Room was nicely decorated large enough with locker. Nice bath and well stocked up bar. The restaurant is excellent should one wish to eat and the location is superb in that it is there in the hub of things and yet quiet once inside. The English Manager.whose name eludes me was very nice as was his stand in. A Dutch guy. Highly recommended.

P.s.: they are all there....Rocky's come first as you make the left on (is it ?) Rosen...followed by Terra Linda, then Casa Valeria , then New Garden....all on the right side as the road meanders up....

Thank you for the detailed reply. I just received room confirmation at BB. I asked them and they say they can exchange Dollars me at the rate of 38 / dollar. The site you recommended has a current rate of 38. 4903. If I exchange $2000 the difference in the two rates would be about $25. I think $25 would be a small amount to pay for the convenience. When I was at BB in early Dec. They were exchanging dollars at 36 to 1. They explained that the 2-3 pesos different from the official rate was their profit margin. Not bad for the convenience but Yanny's wag giving 38. 40 and I got 38. 25 from the exchange stores in Sosua. Your BB bill can be paid in dollars or pesos.

In September, it was bloody hot. Are you telling me there was a time when they did not have A / C? I liked the. Kind of US southwest decor. Bright yellow and pergola roofs.

As far as geckos are concerned. Frankly, I did not notice. Thing is that, with A / C, they will have had to plug all holes on the walls which would prevent easy entry. I am also inured to those as I grew up in India, where too they are all over (as they are in Mexico) ; these would come through the holes and would chomp up the bugs but I imagine, it could be repugnant to one who is not accustomed to those little dinosaurs.

You might change a small amount one time just for convenience, but I would look for the best rate for my main money changes. Incidentally, you can get a perfectly good rate at the BanReservas office on the OUTSIDE concourse of the POP airport before you even get into a taxi. That is what I would recommend. Also ask for some small bills like 20s. 50s, and 100s, because these are hard to come by.

1/9/12.

Leaving the cold and snowy state of Maryland, I couldn't wait to get to the Dominican Republic. It had only been 4 months since my last trip, but to me it felt like a year. And this trip was going to be different, it was one of my wingmen's birthday and we were going to do it big! I was the first to go down, deciding to try my longest stay ever in the DR- 13 days! We also decided to do a bit of hotel hopping for this trip- 2 days in Rocky's (a first time for me) .5 days in Hispaniola Villas, then off to Blackbeards for 3 days, then finishing it off with 3 days at Casa Valeria. A pretty ambitious itinerary, but I was down for it.

Landing in POP airport, I couldn't help but be overtaken by the rush of enthusiasm that I always get when I see this tropical paradise. The feeling only escalated as I caught a taxi and rolled down the road to the familiar sights of life in the DR. I pulled up to Rocky's and despite some small mishaps, eventually got settled. My trip to the Scotia Bank (where, as a Bank of America member, I could avoid ATM fees) was thwarted (a lot of stuff was closed Monday, must be a local holiday or something) but I managed to find an ATM that gave out 8000 pesos, which should definitely tie me over until Tuesday. After a quick trip to reactivate my DR phone, I was officially locked and loaded. The hunt was on.

My first observation was that the stranglehold that el Politur had over the women was definitely lessened. You could see women walking all over the place. Not quite like the 'good old days' but much better than the recent past. I saw a few 7's and 8's and even a couple of 9's that had already been snatched up. It was going to be an interesting trip.

One of the things that I had committed to on this trip was that I was going to smash at least one woman that was out of the norm for me (I routinely target petite and youngish women with big tits and a certain innocence about them). Recognizing the need to knock the dust off, I decided to kill two birds with one stone. Walking past Rocky, I saw a very pretty lady with huge tits but much thicker than I ever consider. Not quite fat, but a couple of tacos away from being fat. She kept trying to get my attention and as I walked past her heading towards Clasicos, and she flashed an amazing smile. I stopped to chat with her for a moment and was pleasantly surprised that she spoke decent english. She asked if she could walk with me and I agreed. By the time we had made the complete lap and ended up in front of Rocky's, she had convinced me to let her give me a massage with the works for 1500 pesos (remember the dust and trying something different).

She was cool, but a bit of a cold fish in bed. After sucking me for a while and as I reached for the condom, she informs me that I have to do it missionary style because she just came off of her period! I was a little worried about that, but she assured me that it was just a precaution. Had I not been harder than Chinese math, I might have said 'thanks, but no thanks. ' and sent her on her way. Luckily, the sex went on without incident, but once again was nothing to sing about. She came. I came. And all was right in the world of Sosua. She asked about staying the night, but seeing as it was only 8:30 pm, that was out of the question. She settled for me taking her number and off she went.

Now, blessed with the quiet and peace that only busting a nut can bring, I had time to mull over my options. The threat of rain continued to hang in the air, so I suspected that Pasions might make a good backup plan after a little recon. So I showered and dressed and headed out to see if two of the beautiful women that I had put on my 'to do list' based on the Pasion website were still there.

It was a little early for Pasions but there were a few lovley ladies in there, mostly faces that I didn't recognize. I said Hi to my buddy Luis (he had hooked me up on multiple occassions with CD's full of MP3"s with DR music, and made sure that the women that I wanted were available for me. A really good guy to be cool with) and asked him about the two ladies. One had been gone from working there for a while but the other was there with a different hairstyle.

Now I need to say a couple of things about her. Benja is absolutely gorgeous with this incredibly innocent smile and the biggest brown eyes I've seen. I had taken her out of Pasions one night in September and she had been such a sweet and passionate lady, one of my best GFE's ever. Brown skin, long natural hair, big breasts, tiny waist, perky ass. If they ever reported her missing from the DR, I wouldn't be surprised if I was the prime suspect. She is that beautiful. I was actually trying to figure out a way to fit her into my suitcase for my return trip home LOL. She has become a star at Pasions, but still manages extreme sexiness with that schoolgirl innocence in a way that will make your heart flip and your dick jump in your pants!

Anyway, back to the report. So I chat with Benja for a while, having interrupted her conversation with some other guy and not really gving a shit. She remembered me from September and how well and kindly I had treated her (the guys that talk about the benefit of being able to speak some spanish are right on target) and wanted to know when I was coming to get her. I told her that my plan was to have her come spend a night with me in Hispaniola and she was ecstatic. I gave her a big hug and a kiss on the cheek and allowed her to return to the other guy who had been giving me the evil eye the entire time that Benja and I were talking. Obviously I didn't care as I said goodbye to Luis, blew a kiss at Benja, and laughed in his direction.

I had to battle the rain on my journey to Clasicos, playing a wierd game of 'red ligh-green light' with the occassional downpours but eventually made it. I got a seat in the front and could already tell that it was going to be a slow night. The place was fairly empty (the combination of Rain and it being a Monday night) but I really didn't care. I found myself in this strange zen state of euphoria that I have only truly experienced in the DR. The sound of the rain, the freshly fucked glow from a few hours before, the 3 santo libres that I had knocked back. If I had been any more relaxed, I would have been a corpse. I love this place. I just sat there at the table, sipping my drinks and deflecting the advances of the many marginally attractive to outright ugly chicas walking around.

Most of the women there were either hardcore putas or just uncute ones, at least until one of my favorite women from a prior trip showed up. Cesarina is my typical type of woman and she definitely saved me from a night of going to bed alone. We retired to my room at 1 am and I was barely in the door before she was all over me. Clearly she remembered me too!

She gave me head for what seemed like hours, being very deliberate and skilled with her tongue. I finally coudn't hold out any longer so reached for the condom and had her flipping all over the bed like a damn gymnist. She stayed the night and I woke up to the feeling of her mouth on me again! That girl is trying to win the puta of the year award! I paid her $2500 pesos (I know its a little high, but the combination of our history and her outstanding service made it seem right. She never even counted it, just smiled at me, kissed me on the cheek and whispered 'gracias papi. ' Rapport with these women goes a long way.

Anywho, I walked her out and sat down at Rocky's for breakfast (easily one of the best options around in terms of being economical, tasty, and filling) and to write the first day's adventure while it was still fresh in my mind. One of my wingmen arrives tomorrow, so I have one more night of the lone wolf approach to mongering. Going to make the best of it and report in then.

Imagine not being told this until the day you showed up on their doorstep!

And it is becoming obvious that Terra Linda is doing their best to discourage "us" from staying there. A buddy of mine told me that they are now asking for $79 a night for 1 Bed/person Queen rooms. They could at least put a larger TV in the rooms to trick me into believing that the price hike isn't related to the over-ambitious restaurant attached to the place.

and it is becoming obvious that terra linda is doing their best to discourage "us" from staying there. a buddy of mine told me that they are now asking for $79 a night for 1 bed / person queen rooms. they could at least put a larger tv in the rooms to trick me into believing that the price hike isn't related to the over-ambitious restaurant attached to the place.inflation is kicking in. recently some internet cafes in sosua doubled their rates from 1 peso per minute to 2 pesos per minute, and a popular massage therapist increased her charge from 500 to 600 pesos for an hour. i was told one massage / beauty salon in a good location is three months behind with the rent, which is 10, 000 pesos per month, and will almost certainly be out of business any day now. another small grocery i know is in a similar position.

at playa dorada there are many empty spaces in the indoor shopping mall, and there is no longer an internet cafe or codetel office. i was offered $38. 70 there for cambio on the us dollar.

one chica i know is spending her ill-gotten gains on driving school lessons and has been zooming up and down the malecon in puerto plata so that she can prepare herself for a better future.

i doubt whether any hotel or establishment can afford to turn away custom, though obviously if you have guests who you think would be a deterrent to other valued guests, you might try to deter them, however i would think that given the location of terra linda, there is no way they can function without the single male guest, though i must say that $79 a night sounds like a lot, though it may be seasonal if there is actually a shortage of beds in sosua around this time as has been reported here.

All the the places that you suggested me were booked for super bowl weekend. I seen terra linda for $98 a night on hotels. ComYou might try Romanoff. They usually have rooms.

I do not know about Super Bowl weekend. I just asked the Terra Linda about this weekend through Monday (1/23) , and they shot me a price of $65 / night including breakfast. I guess I would rather be down there for the playoffs. So many more games.

Veterans,

I have a few buddies coming down over Memorial Day weekend. They are trying to recruit me because they think I'm some type of expert. I can only be there for 4 days (Thurs-Mon). I'm curious to know if it is generally crowded around this time. I would rather stay away if there is too much activity. As usual, all assistance is greatly appreciated!

As per my talk to Lorenzo of New Garden, Jan thru Jul / Aug are busy months for him. I asked him if he would raise rates like TL did, he said no since overall economy is slow and he doesn't see any reasoning to do so. The thing about Sosua is, its not so bad when its crowded, there's always supply when there is demand. You would have plenty of choices, news spreads like fire when there are more mongers. If you can arrange for accomodations you'll be fine. I am hearing so many options now with Sosua bay, Casa Valeria with Air conditioing and good old remodeled Europa. Any season is good for me as a single traveler except when there is a curfew, in all my travels there was just one night when classicos and every other place was closed due to elections, that was the only night I slept alone, though there were still some chicas at TL restaurant and they were telling me of some bars / clubs in the beach that were open, but I was in no mood for it.

B. T. W found this on wikitravel. http://wikitravel.org/en/Sosua

Don't know who contributed to this. But this is what is says in the "Stay safe" section. Interesting.

"Prostitution is common in Sosua, so men should expect to be propositioned by women offering "massages" which extra favors. In general these individuals will not be overly aggressive, so if you keep walking and simply say "No Gracias" there shouldn't be any problems. In bars, men will have lots of women vying for their attention. Keep in mind that they are not smiling at you and grabbing at you because they are suddenly in love with you. Take great care when sleeping with the local women to know the exact price for services prior, which is 1000-2000 pesos normally. For those looking for this sort of activity, you are probably already aware of the many risks and precautions that are necessary, but it is worth noting that AIDS is a specific concern with many of the local working girls."

Thank you for the below. Yes, I understand the message below. Did not know if there was a "agency" that would do the GFE for a longer time period, etc. Any insight? Or do I negotiate with the ladies one on one? Any idea cost for a week with a Chica? Thanks.

You do not need to contact anyone. As soon as you exit the guagua and start walking, a nice young lady will smile and wave you over. Yes, it's that easy.

Or do I negotiate with the ladies one on one? Any idea cost for a week with a Chica? Thanks.Strongly suggest you do not contemplate a week-long stay with a chica you did not previously know, especially not in Sosúa where most of the putas are more or less hardcore. It will either end in tears or excess expenditure, probably both.

If you are hell-bent on that sort of holiday you would be better off at Blackbeards or Field of Dreams. The putas would still be hardcore but at least you would have fixed prices and a protective environment when things inevitably turn sour.

There are guys who have favorites in Sosua with whom they happily spend a lot, or all, of their trip, and to whom they return on subsequent trips, but such relationships are best entered into gradually as they get to know the chica over a period of time and successive visits.

A high proportion of newbies become infatuated with a chica, which usually ends up costing them excess money or grief. It is excusable because the chicas are experts at making guys fall for them. Most of us posting here have been through that stage at the start of our mongering careers. I got off light (apart from a few thousand pesos expended on presents to "impress" my supposed new girlfriend) because I was in protected environments at Blackbeards and Field of Dreams.

It is hard enough to avoid being caught in their net, but if you arrive with the intention of finding a week-long romance you are positively volunteering to become a sucker or "pendejo" as it is called here.

Meet up with experienced mongers at Rocky's and other venues and sample different chicas in succession. If you really hit it off with one you can always meet her on a subsequent trip, but do not, under any circumstances, offer to send her money once you are back home.

What you want is possible, but not in Sosua or any other tourist town which attracts the scum of the island. But to achieve it in the "real" DR you would need to know a bit about how things work here and you will certainly need reasonable Spanish.

I agree with him 100%. You should look at staying at Blackbeard's in Puerto Plata if you are brand new to mongering (traveling to foreign countries to pay for sex). Start off in the Puerto Plata forum and ask the guys there which chicas at Blackbeard's they recommend that are possibly GFE and such (Yanqui69 would probably be a good person to contact over in that forum first). Also go to Blackbeard's website and subscribe to their monthly newsletter so that you can get an idea of how the women look that you would be interacting with. Blackbeard's also has a Mamasan and if you tell her what you are looking for she should be able to help you find the best chica for your preference.

I also agree that you should not start off trying to spend an entire week with only one chica. Try a few out and then decide on one that you may want to spend an extended amount of time with.

I have nowhere to stay now with me and my friends in sosua.Take Manizales advice and see about renting a villa for you and your friends. Coolie High has had great times staying at a villa with a private pool in Sosua. I used to rent a one bedroom condo at Tradewinds Condominium and go swimming with chicas in the pool there at 4-5am after the disco. There are numerous places to stay in Sosua and I doubt all of them will be booked full the first week in February. Hotel Romanoff across the street from the 24/7 bar restaurant (capareinha) was pleasant the one time I visited there.

I reserved 4 rooms for Super Bowl weekend a couple of weeks ago. I called today to confirm and they said they didn't have it and that all the rooms are booked! And all the other hotels in sosua are booked because of the Super Bowl. Fuck the new garden and all the stupid Dominicans that work in there!First of all I agree, Grandnash 84, I would be hella pissed off and livid, if New Gardens fucked up my reservation, a few weeks before the superbowl trip, but calling all the Dominican that work there "stupid"is a bit harsh! I've had New Gardens fuck up my reservation up, but the house keepers, didn't do it, nor the restraurant staff, had a hand in your screw up, I also agree Jenny is a idiot (fine as hell) but a screw up, as well as the front office, but to Generalize all the Dominicans that work there as "Stupid" makes YOU sound Ignorant!

I had a great time chilling on my balcony at Sosua Bay looking out over the beach. I also had a great sexual episode too! He, he The chicas seemed to get very comfortable as well. Too comfortable. I had no problems bringing guests. Just make sure you go for the breakfast only option. If you do all inclusive, your room will be on the other side and you will not be able to bring guests.

Miata,

Do yourself a favor and sip a beverage at one of the bars around 9 pm and just survey the landscape for a couple of hours. If you need to take the edge off, go to La Passions. I think it is worth a visit for the newbie.

Again, practice patience when searching for a GFE. There will be a few seasoned veteran putas who will smell your eagerness. It is up to you to use good judgment. We all have been fooled before. Sometimes you can get caught up by how sexually appealing a chica appears that you just go with it and she turns out to be distant and hardcore. It's ok with the sport fuckers, but many veterans are turned off from Sosua because the GFE can be so elusive.

I still have much luv for Sosua. I think it is the best option for those with limited Spanish skills and those new to the environment. I play the game right back with those ho's. Please don't act like a kid in a candy store. You will undoubtedly play yourself.

Its big enough that one can relax there during the day, you don't feel confined plenty of space to roam around without being harassed by working girl's or peddlers. You get the use the gym in casino building if your into staying fit. The other side of the resort usually has families and people vacationing that are not in Sousa mongering. Hopefully he will be there tomarrow cause I'm going to give him a piece of my minD.Even when Wilfred worked there the reservations at least for me were difficult, now that he is gone this is what you get. Lets face it how many smart gringos with any buisness skills that you can trust are available to hire in the DR? Not many if you ask me. The expats that are there who were successful in life certainly aren't going to work for those wages, or they are too old, you would be more likely to see them doing nothing or owning their own buisness. The New Garden with Lorenzo isn't the only place on North Coast without a competant person to take reservations or manage the Hotel.

I booked in Hotel El Rancho from February 3 to 5. The hotel is in front hotel Cayena. I tried Cayena, New Garden, Terralinda, Europa, no rooms available. The guy from NG told me because of high season and Superbowl no rooms are available, he gave the # of El Rancho, he told me the hotel is relatively new and unknown so there should be rooms available, and there were so I got a $40 room. Anybody knows about this place? Does it has a good location?

It is my first time in Sosua for an almost 14 year Santo Domingo veteran.I stayed there once, A / C didn't work, the room safe didn't work, the Clay tiles floors stained everything that made contact with it. The mouthy woman owner wanted to argue about the things in the room that they did in fact work, calling me a liar, good thing she was a woman because if she was a man I would have drowned her in the pool. Another guy stayed there almost at the same time and had exact same issues with a bonus of having the toilet spit sewage all over his room. Good luck!

It is my first time in Sosua for an almost 14 year Santo Domingo veteran.Yes, the location is OK, very close to the new park and beach and a couple of doors down from Belkis' massage, and within easy walk of everything. You might even have an ocean view. The street it is on is called "Calle sin Salida" which means, like the Hotel California, that you can check in, but you can't check out.

Not only does it help but one is not supposed to flush toilet paper in the Caribbean.

Be aware that the pipes used in plumbing are much narrower than those in the US or Europe. Hence flushing toilet paper will guarantee that eventually everything comes back at you!

Gross, gag!Usually the bin is lined with a supermarket plastic "funda" and people fold the papel hygienico. Anyway this is 100% normal practice in the DR, so get used to it. Most hotels ask you not to put paper down the inodoro, however that may not be the case in all-inclusives, I don't know. If you are in a hotel room, normally the maid service will empty it daily.

Europa was pretty good the first couple of times because (on a friend's recommendation) I requested room 108 or 110, which actually have a living room and a bedroom and a bathtub. It has an entrance outside of the hotel as well as a sliding glass door in the bedroom in front of the pool. The second time they had deadbolted the external door though and I was not allowed to use it. Another drawback was that the AC was in the living room and (even when it was working) you could hardly feel it in the bedroom. From then on I was always given shittier rooms upstairs. It is my first time in Sosua for an almost 14 year Santo Domingo veteran. For two nights, just about any of the small hotels in Sosua should suffice. If you take Metro Bus from Santo Domingo to Sosua, the Metro bus stop in Sosua would be about 50 feet from the hotel don antonio. The metro bus stop in sosua would be about 1 block from Rockys. 1 1/4 block to hotel orchidee. 1 1/3 to terra linda (I believe is owned by Boricuas) and about 2 blocks to New Garden Hotel.

If you take caribe tours the bus station for caribe tours in Sosua is on the other side of playa sosua, from where most hotels are located (about a mile) , you could take a motoconcho or a taxi from the caribe tours bus station.

If you want to stay where some of the chicas live, you could rent a room at the hotel cubano, about 1 1/2 block south of the Europa Hotel. Years ago I knew chicas who lived at the hotel romanoff.

There is a small love type motel (small, clean rooms) south of the main road on the charamicos side of Sosua (existed when I was in sosua years ago).

I had no problems bringing guests. Just make sure you go for the breakfast only option. If you do all inclusive, your room will be on the other side and you will not be able to bring guests.

Whatever you do, don't get it confused with Sosua by the Sea. You will come in late one night with a Chica and you will be pissed!

Hotel Voramar will be a 10-15 minute walk (I never stayed there, but I know the location). You can ask Helpmann about the chicas in the Voramar webapge.

Hotel Cuabano and the Calypso were dumps when I stayed there (the delfin hotel on the main road across from the supermarket, the room needed work). Casa Valeria I visited one time, (it is next door to new garden) the room was OK, seemed the owners were a young family at casa valeria, from a country in central america (if I remember correctly). I have never stayed at New Garden and have never set foot in that hotel. I remember when it is called something like "Garden Keti" hotel.

Sosua Bay Hotel is a nice hotel (rooms have not changed in 10 years, rinse the air filter of the A / C unit in the bathtub) , the owner is a scoundrel from Italy. Sosua Bay Hotel and the Victorian House share the same grounds.

The calypso room had condom wrappers laying on the floor, no toilet paper. It was a dump. Maybe earlier in the day it was better or maybe it has improved in the last 8 years. I stayed less than an hour at the calypso and never returned. Price back then was cheap, maybe a few hundred pesos for a short term rental, but the room was just nasty.

The motel with the small rooms on the charamicos side of sosua, that place was clean and much nicer than the calypso for a short term romp.

Nowadays for a short term rental there is a cabaña in Sosua.

ok. i had to share this story out of order for my trip. this is for night #5:

january 13, 2012.

ok, this friday the thirteenth shit is real! the day started innocently enough. i knew that i had to get noemi out of the house so that i would have time to pick up my brother from pop airport, but she was seriously into sleep mode and looked like she was molecularly bonded to my comforter and mattress. i let her lounge for a bit, confident that i could have her out and about by 1:30 pm to give me plenty of time to drop her off wherever i needed to and get to the airport. i finally shook her awake at 1:35 and she smiles up at me and enquires "podemos tener sexo mi amor?" dammit! women and their timing. there was absolutely no time to get us both in and out of the shower and have the boxspring rocking. after quickly dismissing the idea of doing it in the shower, i firmly told her no and she frowned before shrugging it off and hopping that beautiful ass into the shower.

that should have been all of the hint that i needed that the day was going to be an odd one, but it wasn't. her and i showered together and i was able to drop her off at her sisters house who happened to live near the airport (a lucky break for me). i boogied to the airport just in time to get my brother coming out of the terminal, so all seemed good. i dropped him off at the villa that we were renting then, after he got settled, we went on the usual dr activities runs (shopping for rum, a run to the phone store, hitting the bank, etc). we then killed some time at passions and cmp before heading to classicos around 11.

now the club was packed and the place was live! chicas everywhere, mongers everywher, it was bananas! my brother and i went upstairs and spent a couple of hours scouring the place for the 'perfect one. ' he found his pretty early, a brown skinned dominicana with an incredible ass. my search took a little longer, until at 12:30 i spotted her. (with absolutely no idea of what was to come).

she was petite with nice size tits, a slim waist and a plump little ass (just the way that i like them). it also didn't hurt that she had her own hair flowing to the middle of her back and a very pretty face. she wasn't a 10, but was a strong 8 bordering on 8. 5 when she smiled. i licked my lips in anticipation as i approached her standing by herself at the bar. i had noticed a couple of other guys trying to talk to her earlier and didn't think to ponder on why they all had walked away with a perplexed look on their faces. i should have.

i walked up to her and said 'hola, como estas? ' and she smiled beautifully before turning around and grinding that firm ass on me. i thought to myself, 'hell yeah! ' and reached around for a handful of breast and met no resistence from her. we bumped and grinded for nearly half an hour, all the while me hard as hell and her getting freakier with each passing song. my brother turned to me and asked if she was the one for the night and i replied 'absolutely! ' i turned to ask her if she wanted to go home with me and she replied to me in sign language! she was mute.

now i'm like, what the fuck am i going to do. clearly this broad can hear, but am i really trying to fuck someone handicapped? am i that far gone as a monger? do i really want to go to that special hell? then my eyes fell on her body and the answer to all of those questions was an obvious yes. so i repeated my question and this time she just nodded. i asked her if she wanted to stay the night, and she nodded again. cool, or so i thought.

so we get into the car, her in the front passenger seat with me, and my brother and his new friend in the back seat. as i'm driving, i hear this odd clicking and chirping noise coming from my right and turn to see my date signing and making these wierd ass little noises! i ask her if she's ok, and she replies in sign language and those wierd alien like noises that aren't really words at all. my brother is in the back seat laughing his ass off.

so now i have a bigger dilemma. i have a mute and mentally impaired woman sitting besides me with a killer body, a beautiful face, and a desire to get fucked for money. i am absolutely confident that a special hell awaits me if i do it, but we are already almost at the villa and i have absolutely no idea how i would break it to her. i'm feeling stuck, damn friday the 13th!

i finally man up and decide to go for it, what's the worse that can happen. bad question.

i get her to my room, trying not to notice how hard my brother is trying not to laugh. i lead my hand gesturing and mouth clicking / beeping date to the bed and suddenly she is all over me. regardless of any issues with her vocal chords or parts of her brain, the rest of her anatomy clearly worked! before long she and i were both naked and going at it heavily. the wierd noises seemed appropriate then, but the hand signing was still a little unsettling as she rode me. i had to hit her doggy style to get that shit to stop. i will give her credit, her body was exceptional and she really knew how to use it. and talk about tight pussy.

anyway, so after we're done, we're laying in the bed trying to have a conversation. now i speak a fair amount of spanish and usually have absolutely no broblem engaging dominican women in after sex talks. i was totally unprepared for a situation where i couldn't understand a fucking thing that she was saying! as she lay there, those perfect titties in my face, chirping and clicking and signing (yes, i know that saying this will guarantee a special spot south of the equator in hell, but i must) i was struck by the memory of a favorite cartoon show of mine as a child.

surely you remember battle of the planets (also known as gatchaman or g-force) with the wierd little boy named keyop who could only talk in clicks and beeps and whistles? well i did, and at that moment i was struck with the thought,"i just fucked keyop!" i didn't mean to, but i erupted into laughter, and without her even knowing what i found so funny, she started to laugh too (and click and beep and whoop).

i had had enough. suddenly i became afraid that if i let her stal all night, i'd be responsible for finding away to get her home in the morning (and i had very little confidence that she could communicate where she lived to me or mr. motoconcho). i neede to get her back to classicos asap in the hopes that her friends / handlers were still around after they failed so miserably in their duties by letting her go off with a strange man. reasoning correctly that she might not notice the change in plans, i handed her her clothing and started to get dressed. thankfully keyop took the hint and quickly got dressed. then the final piece of insanity took place.

normally, i always discuss price with a chica before having sex with them. in my initial excitement and subsequent shock, it had slipped my mind. it clearly hadn't slipped hers as she excitedly typed something in her phone and shoved it into my face with a click and chirp that i assumed were full of satisfaction. her phone said "3000." i damn near fell off of the bed. keyop was trying to punk me! i told her no way. 3000 was more than i'd pay for an all night lay and that i would give her 1500. of course that was followed by another round of sound affects that would make a human beatbox jealous before she typed (and i swear that this is not a typo by me)"20000. i just looked at her, suddenly tired of the whole thing, and reached into my pocket for the 2000 pesos i had and handed it to her. she frowned, clucked (yes, it was a new sound, rather chickenish) then got up to head for the door.

suddenly, something on my floor caught her attention and she once again got animated with the signing and pointing and noises. i figured out that she was talking about my trojan ecstasies in a box on the floor. she pointed at the box and held up one finger. i said 'why the hell not? ' and nodded. she tore off two and quickly stuffed them into her purse. i herded her out of the house and into the car, speedily making my way back to classicos to drop keyop off into the caring hands of her friends. i then hauled ass home to write every detail of this fucking day.

ok, this friday the thirteenth shit is real! the day started innocently enough. i knew that i had to get noemi out of the house so that i would have time to pick up my brother from pop airport, but she was seriously into sleep mode and looked like she was molecularly bonded to my comforter and mattress. i let her lounge for a bit, confident that i could have her out and about by 1:30 pm to give me plenty of time to drop her off wherever i needed to and get to the airport. i finally shook her awake at 1:35 and she smiles up at me and enquires "podemos tener sexo mi amor?" dammit! women and their timing. there was absolutely no time to get us both in and out of the shower and have the boxspring rocking. after quickly dismissing the idea of doing it in the shower, i firmly told her no and she frowned before shrugging it off and hopping that beautiful ass into the shower.

that should have been all of the hint that i needed that the day was going to be an odd one, but it wasn't. her and i showered together and i was able to drop her off at her sisters house who happened to live near the airport (a lucky break for me). i boogied to the airport just in time to get my brother coming out of the terminal, so all seemed good. i dropped him off at the villa that we were renting then, after he got settled, we went on the usual dr activities runs (shopping for rum, a run to the phone store, hitting the bank, etc). we then killed some time at passions and cmp before heading to classicos around 11.

now the club was packed and the place was live! chicas everywhere, mongers everywher, it was bananas! my brother and i went upstairs and spent a couple of hours scouring the place for the 'perfect one.

' and nodded. she tore off two and quickly stuffed them into her purse. i herded her out of the house and into the car, speedily making my way back to classicos to drop keyop off into the caring hands of her friends. i then hauled ass home to write every detail of this fucking day.deaf mute or not, always negotiate price before taking a girl to do the deed. i think that her not being able to talk would be a big plus and next time i am in sosua i'm hitting that shit for sure, lol. no, seriously.

Hmmm, thanks Jao, that spot looks real nice. I have been meaning to go to Sosua so I may give this place a look.

I wonder what was asking price for these condosDaily prices from $90 to near $400 for weekdays, weekends cost more, there are discounts for extended stays.

If she was the one for the night and I replied 'absolutely! ' I turned to ask her if she wanted to go home with me and she replied to me IN SIGN LANGUAGE! She was mute.

Now I'm like, what the fuck am I going to do. Clearly this broad can hear, but am I really trying to fuck someone handicapped? She can't hear, but she may be able to lip read. The reason she cannot speak is that she is deaf. She is a complete pro and I do not believe that she is mentally handicapped in any way. Certainly she can read and write better than most. Often she has a pad of stick-it notes and I have seen her happily exchanging notes with her amigo du jour. Do not feel sorry for her. She must be one of the most popular and highest earning girls in Sosua.

Only sex. If the sex is good there is no need to complain. Yes, ofcourse every girl will negotiate on the price either before or after. Deaf mute or not working girls are intelligent street smarts.

Was this the one? Joselina? If so:

I have a mute and mentally impaired woman sitting besides me.I am not saying either person was mentally impaired in that session but if there was, it wasn't her. She is a smart operator. She has learned how to turn her disability into an asset by playing on guys' sympathy (guilt, even). She is particular popular with our German colleagues.

I need to get her back to Classicos ASAP in the hopes that her friends / handlers were still around after they failed so miserably in their duties by letting her go off with a strange man.Don't worry about that. She could survive in Somalia or Afghanistan.

You got off light. She filled a plastic bag with my toiletries, condoms, food and drink! That was six years ago when I was a naïve newbie.

The other things I remember were how many Presidentes she could down in quick succession with no apparent ill effect, how passionate her love making was (I still had the claw marks weeks later) , and her waking me up at 3. 00am and making me catch a publico to the filling station near Jose Luis to buy pizza (then back for more sex). This was an adventure for me as it was my first publico ride and I had no idea where we were going.

She had great legs in those days. A couple of years later she was involved in a pasola accident. The girl driving was killed. The strong and enduring rumor was that Joseline had had a leg amputated. I didn't see her in Sosua for another year and she was then always wearing jeans. I assumed she had an artificial leg and it wasn't for a further year I was relieved to see the rumor was BS. (Unusual for rumors in the DR. You can usually trust them 100%).

I met a deaf girl in Santo Domingo during my last trip while talking to a fruit vendor. Yes, I did her, and yes, it was good. I did her in a rather humble dwelling. When I was done, she held up five fingers. I knew she could not have meant 5, 000 pesos, so I gave her 500 pesos and took off. LOL.

Calypso is squalid. Somewhat better is the short-time room at the Central Bar (next to the Merengue Bar). The cabaña in Sosua is called Secreto Dulce and is at Playa Chiquita (400 pesos for 3 hours).Calypso sits low on a lower side street and gets flooded even with moderate rains and the first floor rooms are unrentable. I would doubt it has hot water. Some of the out of town girls used stay there 3 or 4 per room during the hey days. It must have sure deteriorated more with the slowdown.

Boricua: Good choice! I've stayed here 3 times so far. It was recommended to me by the owners of Casa Valeria when they were overbooked and put me and my 2 wingmen there at the last minute. Here is what's great about it: 1) Great location on a dead end street with its very own public, yet very clean beach about 150 yards walk away, shared with the adjacent all inclusive. 2) Much quieter at night with less moto concho noise. 3) Chica friendly but you MUST escort your chica to the front desk after you're done or they won't give her cedula back. No cedula, no entry either, excellent night security. 4) Great breakfast at their little restaraunt on the ground floor, don't even bother leaving for bkfst. 5) Convenient location, easy walk to everywhere in the town center, not a problem. 6) Built less than 2 years ago and everything works. 7) English speaking owners for those who don't speak Spanish, I do so not a problem but others might want that. 8) Good wifi signal. 9) Reasonable rates. 10) has a private ambiance inside their little compound with a small pool for cooling off.

This is now our hotel of choice when we travel to Sosua. Enjoy.

It is my first time in Sosua for an almost 14 year Santo Domingo veteran.

It must have sure deteriorated more with the slowdown. The whole of the front part was gutted, renovated, and reroofed just a couple of weeks ago. Don't know if there were any changes made to the rooms though. I am not aware of any hot water there. I have not seen the rooms flooded. When it rains heavily the water collects quite deep outside the liquor store on the corner of Calle Ayuntamiento and Pedro Clissante, but Calypso is just a bit further down from where the water collects.

A lot of post speak of mongers with cell phones. Do you think I would benefit if I got one for the week?

Thanks,

JJYou will definitely be at a disadvantage if you didn't, LOL.

Most of us get cell phones because you will more than likely:

1. Meet a chica that you want to bang, but just not at the moment (especially if you've been banging other chicas all day and are out of leche)

2. Bang a chica that absolutely rocks your socks in the sack and you wish to repeat with her again later or another day.

For number 1, just hand said chica your cell phone and she will input her cell number. You can either buy a cheap international / unlocked quad-band phone from Amazon.com to bring with you, or just go to the Claro or Orange store once you get there and buy a cheap Dominican phone. There is usually also a guy walking around Sosua with a rack of phones for sale with minutes on them already. Just make sure it works before you give him any money.

Sometimes chicas will call your phone and hang up. Just call them back. They are just trying to save their minutes on their phone (incoming calls are free to them). If you call a chica and her phone is off, she is either with another guy, or her phone is dead (electricity is not 24/7 in the Barrios) , which is why it is always good to get multiple numbers from different chicas.

If you run out of minutes you can always buy more at most of the little supermarkets and they will give you a card with a code. I always ask them to do it for me (never could figure it out, lol). You can also just go to the store where you bought the phone and buy more there.

You can also just go to the store where you bought the phone and buy more there. For Claro if I remember correctly it is something like *1122 press send and enter the code under the scratch off part of the phone card.

I use the internet to add minutes to my DR cell. Aryty, etopuponline and ezetop are three online companies that you can use to add minutes to a claro or orange cell phone, using a credit or bank card. You can add $5US and up per transaction.

For Claro (if I remember correctly) , *122# press send and you should get a message with your balance (how many pesos you have available to make calls).

Amazon unlocked cell phones have worked well with Claro in the DR (GSM cell phones that take SIM cards are usually best for the DR, ie ATT unlocked phones. Cell phones for Verizon usually use the CDMA network and oftentimes don't take SIM cards and usually are Not the best for the DR). SIM cards with a DR cell phone number can be bought at Claro, Orange or Viva stores (have your passport) , price should be under $10US.

It is possible find what you want, but Sosua is about the last place in the Caribbean to start looking.

You would improve your odds by sorting through haitianas fresh over the border but, if I recall correctly, you prefer your putas to look as European as possible, so that rules out that option.

Which typically means either our AT&T and T-mobile. Nada mas. A reasonable phone that allows you to text is going around 1000 pesos ($28) activation and all other things taken into account based on my November Santiago buying experience at Orange for a chica. There might be cheaper ones but I understood this one was pretty basic at Orange but it could play music.

Just thought I would add a quick review of the Sosua bay beach club complex here since several guys here on the last few pages going on about how great it is. I have stayed there 3 times this year, in February for 2 weeks and again this September first for a week and once I returned from Santo Domingo, for another 10 days. Firstly, it does have a great location, views, a great breakfast, the pool is fine, and some of the front desk staff are very helpful. However, on the downside, they have frequent total power cuts, which are bad enough when you are in your room, but when they happen when you are casually running down the stairs outside at night, and suddenly fall into total darkness, they are downright dangerous! The water in the shower also ran cold and even cut out completely several times during my stay there, which was a total pain when it happens when you're trying to get out of the room for the day. A fellow visitor told me the reason why they have frequent power cuts is because they only have their own generators to rely on. They are not connected to the Dominican power grid because a while back they were caught stealing from it, and are now banned from using it.

The worst thing about this hotel is the following though. On my first stay there this September I had a good room in building 5, however when I returned a week later was told this was full and had a smaller room in building 6. On returning to my room a couple of times and turning on the lights, I saw cockroaches scrambling to disappear between the cracks. I told the front desk, who did send somebody straight away to fumigate my room. However the damage was done, I cannot deal with the likelihood of cockroaches appearing at any moment. I had asked to change again back to building 5, top floor (where the rooms are larger as there are no balconies). I was promised such a room within 2 days by the front desk staff and reminded them, and was assured several times this would be available. However when it came the day to change the manager tried to convince me all these rooms were full, even thought the cleaning lady had shown me they were empty. What had really happened was that he had already promised the rooms to other American guys arriving later that same day, and they had all tried to just bullshit me. I cannot deal with liers and people taking me for an ignorant tourist. Only after wasting over 4 hours of my time going back and forth to the front desk, having to tear them new ones and making enemies out of at least two of them, did the manager finally relinquish and give me the room I had been promised. I can be very good at arguing when I need to be, but this is not what I go on vacation for! However, this incident left a really bad taste in my mouth, and because of this and the cockroach incidents (I also saw several huge one's dying outside my room in the morning several times) , I doubt very much I will be returning. On top of this, the head of security has dumped his crashed car right outside the beach entrance, which looks terrible and gives a rotten impression of the hotel (photo's attached). What else, well the elevator was out of order, as was the one going up to the gym at the Casino next door. You have to walk up 4 flights of stairs instead. I also have my concerns about security there, once a group of 3 American guys (who were not guests there) were allowed through the beach entrance without showing any I'd's, as they said they wanted to go to the reception and could not be bothered walking up the hill outside again. Twice also guys were allowed to bring in chicas without showing any I'd's in the early morning hours, they were asked for it but when they protested just kept going and were not stopped. There is no internet available in the rooms either, and the signal only works fleetingly in some very extreme corners of the outside patio. If you are not all-inclusive (ie just paying 50 USD per day) , you cannot even buy a drink at the bar uptsairs or a snack at the bar on the ground floor. However the local Dominican patrons, (who basically take over the hotel on the weekend and the pool area turns from dead to a cacophony of noise) , only pay around 60 USD for all-inclusive, and can eat and drink as much as they want for this price! So, let's hear it for the Sosua bay beach club? Well. Not sure about that !

Thank you. All of you points are understood. I have a phone here in the states that uses a SIM card. Do you think I can use it in DR? . If not I guess I cheap phone bought down there will be okay. I will just keep it for future visits.

JJYes you can. Call your service provider and tell them you are travelling international and want the unlock code for your mobile. Usually they will give it for free or there will be a one time fee for the code. Once you put the DR sim it will ask for unlock code and once unlocked you can use any sim with it in future. I believe only US providers lock their mobiles, most other country GSM mobiles come unlocked.

SIM cards with a DR cell phone number can be bought at Claro, Orange or Viva stores (have your passport) , price should be under $10US.Good reminder about brining your passport along to the store. You also want to bring a business card from your hotel because they will want the info from it also.

The last few trips I stopped doing business with Claro. They had this stupid rule in where if you were not going to be staying in the DR for more than 3 months to a year they would not sell you a SIM card (when they had just done so on a previous trip). I've been using Orange since then. The guy in the Claro store kept telling me to go to Supermercado Playero to buy one (I was about to until I spotted the Orange store and went there instead) , so maybe things work different in there.

I think GSM phones are the only ones that work there. Which typically means either our AT&T and T-mobile. Nada mas. A reasonable phone that allows you to text is going around 1000 pesos ($28) activation and all other things taken into account based on my November Santiago buying experience at Orange for a chica. There might be cheaper ones but I understood this one was pretty basic at Orange but it could play music.Verizon used to operate in Dom Rep, but sold that business a while ago (if you look on the big antenna in Sosua, you may still see verizon labels on the metal). I believe Verizon became Codetel.

Years ago I brought to DR, verizon cell phones, that I was no longer using and had them unlocked in DR and they worked with Claro (the verizon prepaid cell phones they sold at walmart also worked in DR after being unlocked). A few years ago I had trouble with one of the unlocked verizon prepaid cell phones, that I had been using in DR. I was told it is best to use GSM cell phones that take SIM cards (if you have trouble with the phone that takes a SIM card, all you have to do is buy a new SIM card). The verizon cell, even though I had used it before in DR with Claro, on a subsequent trip the service was interrupted and two Claro offices I went to were unable to get that sim-free cell to function with Claro again. After that I use GSM cell phones that take sim cards in the DR. You can also buy cell phones that take 2 sim cards (have a sim card for claro and a sim card for orange in the same phone).

I was with Sabor about 6 months ago when he bought a basic cell phone at Claro for around 800 pesos (about $21US) , with some minutes included. Sometimes Claro and Orange have promotions where they sell cell phones for under 500 pesos.

Do you think it wise to get some type of supplemental insurance offered to people that travel abroad. My friends that come to visit me form Canada pay for health insurance so they are covered while in the states.

JJ$20 to unlock a phone? You should be able to do that for free if you call the phone company and tell them you will be out the country and need the phone to be unlocked. They should provide you a code if I'm not mistaken.

I must also say, I have been having them as my carrier for 4-5 years and the android contract was about a year when I asked them. Of course I do not know if that made any difference.

The good thing is T mobile is GSM just like At&T which works in most parts of the world except places like Korea / Japan etc.

My health insurance covers me anywhere; however, it is on a reimbursement basis for claims outside the USA I had to see a physician outside the USA after a minor motorcycle accident. I went to a private clinic, paid with my credit card, and got a receipt. I submitted the claim and receipts, and was reimbursed before the credit card bill arrived. You should check with your policy.

If you plan to relocate, that may be a different situation. Check with an expat who lives where you are going.

dude, thanks for the laughs! i think with the amount of laughing i did, reading your post, my trip to hell may be on an ez pass lane.

what added to the comic relief, was that while i was in sosua, back in july of last year, one of my boys spent a night with "click clack". we had no idea she was a mute until the next morning when we saw him trying to "shoo" her off, as we approached them. when we saw the sign language, that was the beginning of the end for him. we tormented him for the remainder of his trip, as friends should. we would often remind him."you came to sosua and fucked probably the only handicapped chick in the neighborhood! no bueno!". although none of us knew what the hell we were doing, we all jokingly communicated with him in sign language and clickity clacks, for the rest of the day. just to fuck with him. (i know, i know, hell for me. ez pass lane remember?).

but just when we thought things couldn't get any funnier, she came back to our hotel (looking for him) the next morning, with her sister (so she says) , who just so happens to be a clickity clack too! yes a mute! holy shit. 2 of them? seeing the look of horror on my boy's face, was well worth me peeing on myself a little bit, from laughing so hard. for the next 4 days, although being repeatedly rejected, the two sisters hounded him, apparently wanting a "menage a click clack".

ok. i had to share this story out of order for my trip. this is for night #5:

january 13, 2012.

ok, this friday the thirteenth shit is real! the day started innocently enough. i knew that i had to get noemi out of the house so that i would have time to pick up my brother from pop airport, but she was seriously into sleep mode and looked like she was molecularly bonded to my comforter and mattress. i let her lounge for a bit, confident that i could have her out and about by 1:30 pm to give me plenty of time to drop her off wherever i needed to and get to the airport. i finally shook her awake at 1:35 and she smiles up at me and enquires "podemos tener sexo mi amor?" dammit! women and their timing. there was absolutely no time to get us both in and out of the shower and have the boxspring rocking. after quickly dismissing the idea of doing it in the shower, i firmly told her no and she frowned before shrugging it off and hopping that beautiful ass into the shower.

that should have been all of the hint that i needed that the day was going to be an odd one, but it wasn't. her and i showered together and i was able to drop her off at her sisters house who happened to live near the airport (a lucky break for me). i boogied to the airport just in time to get my brother coming out of the terminal, so all seemed good. i dropped him off at the villa that we were renting then, after he got settled, we went on the usual dr activities runs (shopping for rum, a run to the phone store, hitting the bank, etc). we then killed some time at passions and cmp before heading to classicos around 11.

now the club was packed and the place was live! chicas everywhere, mongers everywher, it was bananas! my brother and i went upstairs and spent a couple of hours scouring the place for the 'perfect one.

JJYour handset and contract needs to meet certain requirements to unlock for free. Otherwise you'd be paying. 20 sounds about right. I also like to carry my Android phone for all the features it has and video / still Cameras. Unfortunately its a CDMA phone and I can't use it for calls when I am there and I am not paying the outrageous fees to activate it. However, I do collect / store chica phone numbers if at all the need arises which rarely does in Sosua. Another simple way if you like a chica is to inform her time and place you want to see her and the odds are she will show up. You may have some trouble turning her away if you have changed your mind. LOL.

The phone I have I am comfortable with. Not having to have to learn a new phone is a plus. JJSome guys lock up their expensive smart phones in the hotel safe. If you have lots of personal info on you cell phone, be careful, password protect the cell phone (in case it gets lost or stolen in DR) and / or lock it up in the safe. Pickpockets have existed in Sosua in the past in the streets and in bars, be aware if a chica or chicas start to "feel you up" in the street or in a bar on the dance floor. I had an experience in Sosua with a chica who tried to steal a cell phone from an apartment, she pushed the cell phone up her pussy to try and conceal it. I read a post years ago, where some chica robbed a guy's camera by tossing it out the window and then retrieving after she exited the guy's hotel.

If your life will be difficult if you lose your cell from home, you might want to consider buying a cheap cell in the DR that you can use when you are out and about in Sosua (that if it gets lost or stolen, will not be a great loss).

This is an online program on the Internet that you can access with a computer or one of those battery powered telephones that everyone has. Set the program from English to Spanish. Type in the words you want in the left hand panel for English. For example:

How much for a bare back blow job? (When you type in the English words it will help if you use simple grammar and correct spelling and write them out in full instead of using initials.)

The computer then types back: "¿Cuánto por una mamada a pelo?" These are the Spanish words that mean "How much for a bare back blow job?" If you want to hear these words spoken, then you click on the little loudspeaker icon on your screen. You can practice saying the words before you leave home. If you have something like an iPhone or iPad, you can also use this program in the field anywhere there is a wi-fi signal. Most restaurants have it.

CIM a bit rare. Diseases more common.

Yes, but peso is more important than espanol. Learn a few phrases. That will maximize your fun. Don't behave like a stupid gringo. Except when it is a strategic move.

Like when I was ion Colombia and was not enjoying the 3-some and the chicas wanted to leave after 3 hrs of continuous sex and the only thing stopping them was them getting paid. They had tried everything including faking orgasms, a headache, declaring that the chica had a period but I had agreed on a full night. So I acted like a gringo who did not understand spanish and kept them working for 2 more hours until I had to catch a plane. Bitches got my digital camera and the liquor in my room, though!

Dominican Republic is a pretty place with friendly people, but I had two bad experiences with chicas.

In Boca Chica, ¨Carolina¨, a thin, dark girl with a pretty smile, came to my room and wanted payment in advance. We agreed on half in advance, then things went to hell, with lots of bad attitude. She stopped and changed positions twice, just when I was enjoying myself, then said she would finish me orally, but then wanted more money. I kicked her out, but we had a nasty confrontation about balance due, involving hotel staff, and I ended up throwing the balance at her to get her to leave.

In Sosua, ¨Jessica¨, dark skin, nice body, agreed to all my requests in advance, including payment after sex, but then her attitude changed when we got to my room. Every request was met with resistance, and the total experience was a huge turnoff. The blow job was one of the worst ever, and one of many things she was bitching about was that I did not shave my pubic hair. That's a new one on me. I kicked her out too, but she made it clear that she was not leaving without getting paid, with implied threats of violence, so I paid. I have had great experiences with girls all over Asia and Latin America, but if my two experiences here are any indication, the name of the game in the DR is to provide a terrible, frustrating experience, get out fast, and demand to be paid anyway.

You should take the average bad times you've had with chicas vs. The overall experience. You mentioned having having two bad experiences with two different chicas in two separate places (Boca Chica and Sosua). But how many other chicas were you with in those places?

I've been to Sosua five times and will say that out of the 8 or 9 different chicas I am with on each trip, there is always one that will cut up. I have never gotten to the point in where we had to involve hotel staff or security though. It was similar to the same problems you had. One chica I was with agreed to TLN but got dressed once we finished, so I paid her half of what we agreed on. She tried to protest (but not too much) and I stood my ground.

Either way, you will never be able to tell beforehand how out of control a chica is willing to get in these situations. Most of the problem-chicas do not walk around with "nutcase" stamped on their foreheads, LOL.

Most of the problem-chicas do not walk around with "nutcase" stamped on their foreheads, LOL.Good points, but I think it is important to put them on your clock and make them adapt to you. This is where the interview process pays off. If they are rushing and go straight to prices that is a flag to me. If she finishes every sentence with" Lets go" thats another flag. If she is looking around for other options, thats a flag. If her phone rings every five minutes, thats a flag. If she drinks more than you, thats a flag.

Some guys choose by looks, without doing an interview.

If problems occur in the room you have to be tactical. You have to get her out of the " Winning enviornment" she has which is your hotel area. She knows you don't want drama where you are staying. Get dressed and tell her"lets go", if she doesn't follow you out, you have problems and are better off cutting a deal. If she walks out the room with you, then you have control and can choose your options. Once outside the hotel you can offer to buy her a beer and calm her down before you give her a few pesos and walk away, or you can just say" Fuck it" and just walk away, but you might get cussed out in public as you walk away. Also keep your eyes on her eyes when things go foul in the room. If she starts looking around for things to throw or steal get close where you can stop her from destroying your room and just make a counter offer. The main point is that its not about the principle, but its about getting her out of your room before she sets it off.

Dominican Republic is a pretty place with friendly people, but I had two bad experiences with chicas.

In Sosua, ¨Jessica¨, dark skin, nice body, agreed to all my requests in advance, including payment after sex, but then her attitude changed when we got to my room. Maybe she WAS a nut case, but if you got a blow job, even if it was a lousy one, then you have to pay unless the agreement was that you would sample the blow job before deciding whether to purchase. In La Sirena supermarket in Puerto Plata there is a sign that says you may not try on underwear and then return it. It is a bit like that with blow jobs. If your penis passes her lips, then there is no refund.

If you have long pubic hair, it may have been tickling her nose. We will assume that you were freshly showered and that cleanliness was not the issue. A beard trimmer is a useful accessory for the well groomed monger to display his tools and equipment to look their best, and a variety are displayed here:

As others have suggested, a pre-coital interview to establish the sanity of the other participant (s) is generally recommended. I can't ever remember having to prepay, but some girls have told me that some guys "abusan las chicas" and try to get services gratis. One solution is to place the necessary funds in a neutral location as a form of escrow account, but frankly if the matter became an issue before the fact, I would assume that the necessary chemistry was not there and would seek an alternate provider.

If she drinks more than you, that's a flag.If you buy her alcohol, that is a double flag, because you don't know how she will handle the alcohol, and because you are wasting money, which will make her think you are an easy mark.

It just goes to show that the same way we size the chicas up to see who are the tigresses and who are the gazelles is the same way they are able to size us mongers up and tell who they will be able to Deebo around and who they will not.
