It's a cash cow for Rick because of the reasons you stated. No food (not even breakfast) is included in your stay. Since Rocky's is right across the street, it is an easy path for those that don't venture further, which puts more money in his pocket and you can talk to other mongers (if thatz what you are in the DR for).
Guess what, you can even do all of this without staying in Sosua Suites. For instance, you could stay at New Garden and still do this, but your breakfast would be included at NG, which means you wouldn't have to spend the money at Rocky's for breakfast (this should appeal to a budget minded person such as yourself). Also, if you want to talk to other mongers you can do that eating breakfast at NG or a host of other places while consuming your breakfast. That being said, I agree that the food at Rocky's is pretty good, as I have been eating there since before Rick purchased it from Marco.
I don't think Sosua Siites is a bad place, but relative to other options in Sosua. I think the ROI is low. All the "benefits" you mentioned were about location and had nothing to do with the actual unit. Besides security being good, everything else was stuff that is external to Sosua Suites.
The fact that the units have a kitchen and you still feel the need to eat at Rocky's speaks volumes in and of itself. If I have a decent kitchen, I prefer to buy groceries and have a chica cook breakfast. If I want to eat out there are a lot of options outside of Rocky's, for those that don't need everything within a 50 yard radius. On a side note, a lot of people sleep on the other end of the strip by Pasions because it doesn't get as much hype but there are a lot of hotel and food options in Sosua if you don't need the 50 yard radius.Yeah, I though the bit about "talk to and meet other mongers" was a bit weird. There are very few places in Sosua can you not do this.
I do have girls pick me up at airports and the last time I paid for sex I was in my 20's in Colon, Panama. I have nothing against it I just don't think I could do it because I have created options. I was young and the internet wasn't really a good tool yet. To me it would be like sticking my dick in a urinal. I currently use Facebook when I need to and other social networking sites.
I'm in Sosua at the moment and have not gotten laid yet and don't plan to! I think this place is a ghetto! I went to caberete in the blue taxis today. I paid for 5 seats because no one else was around. On the way back I was one of five for 25 pesos. Cabarete is worse than sosua because it is a ghetto AND it's on the main road.
This whole area (country) is like a huge Jaco, Costa rica. I can't leave the hotel without some ghetto guy asking me what I need. I'm going to eat in a few minutes and I dread walking out on the streets. I knew this place would suck but I just needed some warm weather for a few days. I can't believe the dumb asses that actually buy places here.
I had some french guy bragging about how he bought a place and 2 other guys that have been coming for 25 years! WTF really?
I guess competition for tourism is tough because there are a ton of vacant buildings here. I was also told that sex tourism is ruining this town but I guess at this point it is the only thing going for it. I feel sorry for the Austrian lady that runs Bailey's. Life must have really sucked for her in Austria.
BTW Santo Domingo is crap. Save your money and time.

Some of the forums in ISG do a great job of describing hotels, flights, tips and dating non pros and pros. Again I have nothing against guys or girls involved with paying for sex and I never thought I was god's gift to women. Infact I am probably a nightmare for women. But when you average out what it costs for a week (high or low season rates) plus the cleaning fee, plus the cost of additional days, the total cost to stay at SS is only $50 to $55 a day. The location is definitely a nice advantage. The little market is across the street, along with the internet center, and Rocky's Restaurant. A suck shack next door. True, the pool area is small, and the couple of lounge chairs are dirty as hell. But I don't use any of that stuff anyhow.
I stayed st Seabreeze a few times. $40 a night. The units I stayed in all had tubs you had to step in to take a shower. I like walk in showers, and Rocky's has that. Overall, the units I stay in at SS are adequate / comfortable. However, I have seen some units there where I did not like the layout and amenities in the suite at all. So I try to stick to the units I know and like. Wifi has been okay. Only been out for short periods. The units I stay in usually have the router there. So I have control in case it needs to be reset.
In November, I had the chance to go to El Neptuno to inquire about their apartments. Those apartments are very nice and modern looking. Now, if El Neptuno, was closer to the strip I'd probably book there every trip. It is the type of place you wouldn't mind cooking day or night, because it has a real full function kitchen with usable appliances and service ware. Lastly, I do not judge my hotel compatibility by whether I can use the kitchen or not. Part of my enjoyment in Sosua is going out to various places to eat. And when it comes to dining, I am able to find good meals with good prices. And if I want to splurge I have no problem doing that as well. SS is not the best, and not the worst. But for what I get out of it, I do enjoy being there. What I want to do, is look for other places in Sosua to stay so I have more options and maybe different experiences. Especially if Rick has the suites I like booked solid.

Hotel Europa has a little kitchen, no breakfast but it is 38 bucks a night when you book 3 nights with a pool. There breakfast is free muffins to help yourself which is not really a breakfast to me and it is a 5 minute walk from the strip and quite. The best value if you ask me and clean. New garden has the better breakfast but for the money you save at Europa, I go to New Garden for Breakfast.
I have stayed at Sosua Suites 3 times. Will be there next week. The key to my comfort and value is choosing the units that meet my needs. Runner up I thought maybe you fell on tough times. I have two bannana patches I will trade you for your airplane if you want. On another note you found the equivelant to them trucker babes you like so much in Medellin on your adventure to the DR. Lmfao I just got into Cartagena and nailed me a ten so not a bad day here. LOL.

In fact, I just booked a nice quiet location with breakfast and pickup / dropoff included.
I tried Sosua Suites based on monger recommendations like yours, but I soon realized people have different standards so I only go with trusted sources from now on.
For a place with a kitchen, it seems like Sosua Suites folks eat out a lot? Like I said, if I got a place with a decent kitchen I'm chillin while the chicas are cookin. For instance, here is a nice penthouse I rented not long ago in Sosua, which is more alongs the lines of what I'm used to.

I agree with you on the cooking thing. It's nice to have a frig to keep milk, beer, pop for a snack. But if I'm only there for a week or less, I'm usually quite happy to eat out. And Sosua has some decent and affordable places to eat.

Nor are they interested in chicas cooking. They are interested in the extra space that a condo / suite provides. The larger refrigerator over a tiny one. Many hotels do not serve the type of food I like for breakfast. I have to sacrifice and pick from a limited selection. Even the supermarket doesn't carry some of the things I like even if I was cooking. NG, Bailys and Rocky's all have something I can eat. I don't usually have chicas long enough for them to be cooking, so thats not important for me. My interest in Rockys has basically been their modest accomodations (small living room, large refrigerator & location) with more space than a hotel room (like Seabreeze ).
Oddly enough I wasnt really recommending or endorsing SS. I was merely offering feedback to those that need to know that all of the units are not the same. Some units indeed are a turn off. I have seen them. But I know enough to request the units I like. The other thing I was pointing out, was that the units further from the rear of the clubs are much quieter than the ones I think some members were complaining about. What is the name of the place you are talking about?

If a person confirms a reservation and then he is told it is not available and then waits 2 days to get his room and he disappears then it is a no go for me. I will never stay there. Why take a chance? There are several places that want out business. *This site is to help people, so BE AWARE of this place EVERYONE*

He also reported that when it was time to finally get the room he originally requested, the owner skipped town.

Rick has been great to me. He looks out for his guests. SS work for me. Walking to you room with your chica is very convenient. I do not cook on vacation but I love the full size refrigerator for my drinks. TV is a good thing but to tell the truth I rarely have time to watch anything but sexy ladies. Rick has a great reputation and I hate to see one disgruntel person tear him down. The food has been very decent and the price not bad. He makes you feel at ease and secure. It is a laid back atmosphere. No doubt there are places as good and better for acomodations. However you can not beat the location next to everything Or Ricks personal help.

A lot of babes I meet want to cook when they become cool with me or the people I'm partying with. I like having BBQs and stuff like that when I have a decent spot, and inviting chicas, mongers and sometimes even local folks that live in the DR over. This kind of stuff is not for everybody, as I know some guys are Rumbas to Rocky's mongers. Not about power or GFE. I eat out sometimes as well, but I like to change up.
I also like having a nice pool, but that's not important to other people. When I'm in the islands I like to swim, have pool parties and getting head in the pool. IMO, the pool in Sosua Suites was a joke and I wouldn't use it and didn't see anyone in it when I was there, except for the Dominican family that lives on the premises.
All in all, I don't think it is a bad place but just not for me. I'm not trying to get people to boycott Sosua Suites like Rick tries to do with places like Terra Linda, his competition. I was in a pinch so I thought I would give it a shot but never again.
I prefer spots that are off the beaten path and not discussed a lot on monger boards. Here is an example of a spot I hit for a nice pool party recently in Sosua. This is more alongs the lines of what I like versus a spot like Sosua Suites.

Who is trying to tear Rick down. I simply wrote about my experience at SS, others may like to know the good the bad and the ugly about SS before they try staying there.
On the positive I liked having the little apartment setting it's great for entertaining. On my August visit I met up with Cuba Dave and other mongers and they come over and hung out. I wifed up for a few days and my wing man wifed up as well and the place was great for entertaining and have guest over. As you said the TVs are tiny little box TV but I never watch TV anyway so that was no big deal. There's no central air only the air conditioning in the bedroom but again leaving the bedroom door open helped. The kitchens are a bit old, no microwave and only a few dishes but enough. It's close to the action and there is no I'd check (had one forget her I'd on this trip, so that came in handy) and there's free airport pick up and drop off.
I was pleased enough with the place in August that I booked all four of my return trips to SS, this one, my trip in April my trip in May and my trip in July. I also made it a point to book the nicest suit in the place the owner's suit. Twice before coming down on this trip I contacted Rick via email and asked if my reservation was all set. Twice I get return emails telling me my room is reserved for me. I get there and I'm told I can't have my room because someone else will be in it for the first two nights of my stay. Rick did offer to let me stay one night in Mary Rose and then another night at SS and then I could have the room I requested. I didn't like the ideal of having to change rooms so much so I declined staying the first night at Mary Rose. The room I was given in SS was A3 It is LOUD on that side of the building and I mean LOUD every night until 3:am when the bars close. There is also a dog (a big dog) tied up in the back that barks its ass off all night long. Not to mention the bathroom door does not close in the suite. Mongers may want to know about these things before they decide to stay at SS.
Hot water is a luxury (yes I know you have to flip the switch 15 minutes before you want to take a shower) but even with flipping the switch the hot water heater is only 6 gallons. You are lucky if you get 2 or 3 minutes of hot water and many mornings I didn't even get that. This was also a problem when I stayed there in August no hot water. Mongers may want to know that hot water is a luxury if you are going to stay at SS.
You pay upfront for your entire stay at Rocky's so I paid Rick for my stay, to his credit he said he was not going to charge me the higher owners suit fee since I wouldn't be able to stay in it the first two nights (I didn't get to stay in it at all). After the money crosses the table and I pay is when I am told that the hot water heater is only 6 gallons and that I would only have about 5 minutes of hot water (was more like 2 or 3 minutes if any at all) that's also when I am told about the dog being tied up in the back barking all night long. This rubbed me the wrong way, I don't know if Rick realizes how this looks but it has the taste of some cheap used car sales men telling you about all the defects in the car after you have signed the contract and paid the money.
On the day I was supposed to switch I went to Rocky's looking for Rick and he is nowhere to be found. When I ask the restaurant employees they know nothing about it. I know enough Spanish to get into the pants of a P4P chica but that is about it and the employees there know even less English than I know Spanish, so if Rick s not around communication is difficult. Mongers may want to know that Rick is about the only one at the Rocky's establishment that knows English the rest don't.
I ask the employees there to call Rick and they appear to be on the phone calling him. The only thing they tell me after they hang up is Rick is at Mary Rose. Despite what Rick claims about being easy to get ahold of he isn't, mongers may want to know that Rick is not as easy to get ahold of as he claims.
I finally run into Rick around 9 or 10 that night he tells me he tried looking for me and couldn't find me so he moved someone else into my room, we set a definite time to meet the next day so I can switch to my room. Maybe we missed each other, maybe he made a feeble attempt to find me but I spent a good part of the afternoon that day going back and forth to Rocky's looking for him and supposedly the restaurant staff tried calling him for me. This again rubbed me the wrong way, if you have a guest who has a specific room reserved and you have already screwed him out of his room for the first two nights you don't give his room to someone else on the third night unless you simply don't want his business anymore.
The next day is just another repeat of the previous day, despite us having a definite time to meet. I look for Rick all afternoon he's nowhere to be found the restaurant employees appear to be calling him and then just tell me Rick is at Mary Rose. On another board Rick claims he looked for me again that day. This I highly doubt. I was in bed with a chica all morning until it was time to meet Rick so I would of heard any knock at the door.
In my original TR I never mentioned the toilet overflowing and running down the stairs. I'm lying in bed reading I get up put my feet down and the entire floor from the bed room into the living room in to the bath room and running out the front door is completely covered with water. Water is pouring out the front door of my place down three flights of steps like someone had turned on the hose. I go across the street to get someone, but you guessed it Rick is nowhere to be found and no one there speaks English, my Spanish does not progress much beyond asking how much for a BBBJ so there is a huge communication breakdown I'm trying to get them to come and see what's going on. Twenty minutes later the driver comes and sees the new water fall pouring down the steps, twenty minutes after that the real owner of the building shows up to fix the problem which takes another hour and half. Meanwhile its evening the chicas are starting to assemble along the strip, I'm getting horny and I have no place to take chicas.
In Conclusion:
I was left with the impression that Rick never intended to give me the room I had reserved. I don't know if he realizes how it looked but he appeared to be dodging me the whole weekend I was left with the impression that he really didn't value me as a customer, (which was confusing because I had booked in total four return trips with him) , that he really didn't care if he got my business or not.
Sasua Suites:
The good.
It's located right next to the strip, very convenient once you pick up your chica.
It's an apartment type of setting so great for entertaining.
Kitchen so you can prepare your own meals.
No I'd check so don't have to worry if your chica forgot her I'd.
Free airport and pick up and drop off.
The Bad.
No or very little hot water. If you love a hot shower in the morning you are going to be sorely disappointed.
No central air. (There is air-conditioning in the bed room, can just leave bedroom door open, helps a little)
No microwave and kitchen utensils can be somewhat lacking (but enough, unless you plan on cooking Christmas dinner there)
The NOISE, IT IS NOISY AS HELL, at least on the side of the building facing the strip until the bars close.
The Damn Dog Barking All Night (someone shoot that dog, please)
There's no one else to go to, if you have a problem you have to deal directly with Rick, if he's not around there's no second who can fix your problem, and from my experience Rick s not as easy to get ahold of (especially if he doesnt want you to get ahold of him) as he claimes to be.
Final Thoughts:
On my first stay in August Rick was Johnny on the spot if I needed something, on this stay he was ghost. If he wants your business he can be a very catering host, if he doesn't care about having you as a customer he is as reliable as a used car salesman.

Like I said before, different strokes for different folks. A lot of babes I meet want to cook when they become cool with me or the people I'm partying with. I like having BBQs and stuff like that when I have a decent spot, and inviting chicas, mongers and sometimes even local folks that live in the DR over. This kind of stuff is not for everybody, as I know some guys are Rumbas to Rocky's mongers. Not about power or GFE. I eat out sometimes as well, but I like to change up.
I also like having a nice pool, but that's not important to other people. When I'm in the islands I like to swim, have pool parties and getting head in the pool. IMO, the pool in Sosua Suites was a joke and I wouldn't use it and didn't see anyone in it when I was there, except for the Dominican family that lives on the premises.
All in all, I don't think it is a bad place but just not for me. I'm not trying to get people to boycott Sosua Suites like Rick tries to do with places like Terra Linda, his competition. I was in a pinch so I thought I would give it a shot but never again.
I prefer spots that are off the beaten path and not discussed a lot on monger boards. Here is an example of a spot I hit for a nice pool party recently in Sosua. This is more alongs the lines of what I like versus a spot like Sosua Suites.Thats a nice spot. Don't suppose you'd care to share.
If your woman was cooking for you and then refused to do it any more, then clearly the relationship is on the rocks and she sees no future in it.
Kicking people seems a bit extreme.Funny! Wouldnt recommend the kicking part unless you want to be exploited and begging to stay in a stairwell in POP jail. Yea most of the time I hear she stopped wanting to cook, you could be on to something there because from my experiences the DR woman always start falling apart the longer your with them.
I have meet Chris Long on a couple of occasions although he may not know who I am here and he is a stand up guy so what he has typed is accurate no doubt. But I have been dealing with Rick for Rockys, SS, and Mary Rose for a short while now and never had any problems and to be honest on a cancelled flight he handled it like a pro. I think expectations from what you are told can get you in trouble, yes Rick is trying to sell the places for use, nothing wrong with that, but when you dont have the hot water or room you were more or less promised it can [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) some off which I understand, me I just deal with it. For instance Mary Rose (very Nice) is advertised off the strip so it is nice and quiet only problem is it sits next to some chicken/rooster farm. So you dont have the strip noise but you have this annoying screaming from 3am to 9am from those damn birds. The locals get use to it so they dont think of it as a problem and I slip in my ear plugs I got from HD for 3 bucks and I am set.

If you are up for a long relationship and will spend time training one to cook, that's fine. But don't expect a decent meal on the short term. Heading to santo domingo at the start of March for the parade again, I'm heading for ten days, only planing on staying in sd for 3 days the rest in sosua! I've been to sd and enjoyed it.
Pretty cued up on sosua from what I've read here just one or two questions if anyone can help please!
1. Getting the bus from sd to sosua is it difficult without spanish?
2. Is the beach fairly safe see alot here on about picking up chicas there or on the way?
3. Ten days to short?
4. Can't honestly say felt 100% safe walking in sd would sosua be similar?

IMHO Sosua is way safer then SD. You will me among many friends. Men form all over the world are there for fun and women. The beach is a day time affair and is very safe. Plenty of places to eat and drink. There are girls there during the day but not many. However some of the girls working in the shops can be picked up for after work fun. I am not sure I could handle 7 days there. I would be exhausted. Almost every women you see in Sosua is on the menu. Almost forgot, the bus is a piece of cake. Go to the window and ask for bus to Sosua. It is a fun trip with stops for snacks on the way. Bring a sweater or a jacket because the air conditioning is crazy. Metro will drop you off in the middle of town Caribe you will need a taxi. I stay Rockys Sosua suites. 50 bucks for a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. Food at Rockys is decent and you can walk to everything plus the place has a guard at night who is very kool. There are many great places to stay. Sosua Suites is my personal favorite. The owner Rick would be very helpful getting your bearings. Sosua was made for us. There several hundred hot young girls waiting for you. Take pictures and write a good report. I have a trip planned in 5 weeks with two wing men. The return of the black Gomer Pyle.

They cook what they have. I enjoy their rice bean and chicken. I do not want to eat it everyday but it works when I am there. My San francisco chica can cook her ass off. Let them eat cake was Marie Antoinettes statement when she was told the people have no bread. hard to for dominicans to buy steak.

It is not entirely due to lack of different available foods, but they usually have a very limited knowledge of cooking techniques.
However today my mami cooked a wonderful lunch of fresh goat meat (very tender) with peas and rice, broccoli, carrots, green beans and a brown gravy that was NOT Sazon season all. I just added a little relish made from berries and it was as good as any meal I have had in the DR.
There are lots of excellent fresh fruits, vegetables and tubers if you just know how to prepare them properly. But don't look for things like quality cheeses or imported foods which are usually rather expensive.

It is better to stay in Sosua and make day trips to Cabarete if you want to do activities there. I'm no expert on Cabarete but I think that if you plan to pick up a chick in Sosua she may not want to go all the way to Cabarete. If you have already booked a hotel in Cabarete why would you also want one in Sosua? There is more activity here for a reason; that is because there are more activities in Sosua than Cabarete. Don't get me wrong, I do think Cabarete is nice, but if you want girls you are defeating the purpose.

During the day I have gone to the Mofongo King on the beach for lunch.
And it was pretty good. Any suggestions for any other spots on the beach.
And somewhere to go for dinner and or a late snack would be appreciated.
Still trying to find a place that can make a good fried pork chop, had a chica.
Cook for me a couple of years ago in Cabarete and they were awesome, there.
Has to be a good authentic restaurant somewhere in the area, I hope.

By the local vagrants, the police, any kids that need a quick $40. To be fair, I have met and conversed many locals. Wonderful people that are happier than I am with much less $.

You can get a good cheap plato de dia at Susanas, not sure where she is located these days, as her location has changed, very fresh, basic Dominican lunch.
There is a great local place on the left just past Super Super that has very fresh food for lunch, chicken, rice, beans, pasta, salad, etc, for like $RD150.

I want girls but I want other stuff to do during the daytime, I've read Sosua is not the place to be for daytime 'touristy' things, I am looking for variety.
I guess I could have gotten a hotel in Sosua then travel to Cabarete in the daytime, but I don't like being in the center of the action, safety in Sosua is a small concern, especially the hustlers in the street.
Sosua is mostly safe, but with an ounce of common sense.
Still haven't found an answer to best way to get to Sosua from Cabarete and cost. Google tells me 10 minutes with no traffic, so I will probably take a private taxi

Hey any reports on the ground for the Super Bowl?I spoke to someone that said there are a lot of crews from NYC walking around, but that's all I heard.
I was down there for the long weekend also. First thing I did was run to Passions when I arrived for a short time on site so I could relax and enjoy the rest of the night. I thought I would be safe staying onsite but I got a lame, don't do this, don't do that, won't do that starfish. I was like hell with it I am not getting into the whole complaining thing. I talked with a buddy of mine and another gentleman I meet at Baileys and both had a bad experience at Passions also. Its become obvious Peter is not stressing performance to the girls. I pay Peter a little more for it not to be a crap shoot.
To anybody reading these boards Passions has become far from a guaranteed good experience.
Always like staying at Sosua suites and found Rick to be accommodating. Yea no free breakfast but airport pickup is included which is more value to me. For us that refuse to drive and try to avoid over use of the risky motoconchos, location is everything so not sure how posters dismiss that. TV, hot water, internet is hit or miss in many places.

This was my first time with a passions girl in all of my trips there. She was Excellent! I'm a marathon man and take for ever. Old heads know the bar next to El Flow as Sosua Life. Very bare and no activity in the club behind it. DLatinos is the be all and end all every night. Huge bars and dance floor area, but no actual disco on property. Early evening Rumba and El Flow are still good. At 3am EVERYONE (the whole block) goes to After One disco. Enjoy.

Was there mid-January. Classicos bar is beautiful, but the disco upstairs was still closed. Old heads know the bar next to El Flow as Sosua Life. Very bare and no activity in the club behind it. 2/4.) The two beaches are equally very safe. Granted like any where on earth. If you stumble around drunk and incoherent; you will be mugged. By the local vagrants, the police, any kids that need a quick $40. To be fair, I have met and conversed many locals. Wonderful people that are happier than I am with much less $.
3.) Seven days in Sosua is much the same as. How many days in Las Vegas is too long? On the fourth or fifth day you will be telling yourself,"Get me the hell out of here." Once past this transit feeling. You will telling yourself,"How can I stay here for ever?" Sexy women, decent food, fun loving people, good internet access and great beaches. What else do you need in life?True, I like to think I'm quite aware of my surroundings even anything can happen still. Didn't want to leave sd last time had a great time. The only problem I found with sd is there wasnt much to do during the day except going to the mall and el conde and so on maybe it was just I didn't look hard enough.

And per your report, still closed. So basically the only place to dance is the After One club, that does not start up until about 3 am. They have these two bedroom rooms that have huge kingsized bed tht are high off the ground. Hell, during the week they give away free lunch. You can't beat that. I also like that it is one of the few small hotels that I can reserve and book my room online, before I get to town. Just go to their website http://www.perladesosua.com

Firstly, apologies, as I somehow got the idea this was your first visit to the area. Obviously not.
I was not actually recommending you stay at FoD. I am sure you would find somewhere suitable in Sosua (assuming you will arrive during daylight hours and have time to ask around). I just mentioned it as an example of different strokes for different folks. We all have different priorities when choosing where to stay, For one monger a decent pool might be important, for others, good wifi, or a good restaurant, or airconditioning, or distance to the Strip, and so on.
Staying in FoD and using a private taxi to go to and from to Sosua would not be cost-efficient. You could have an extra chica each day for what you would be spending on taxis. It would be better to book into a more expensive hotel in Sosua, although, as I say, I don't think that will be necessary.
But since you ask, Field of Dreams is about 15 miles from Sosua and 3 miles from the centre of Puerto Plata.
There is public transport running 24/7 along the main road outside FoD to the centre of Sosua. Takes about 25 minutes and costs 45 pesos each way (50 after dark).
Waiting in Sosua for a publico home is safe enough as there are plenty of people about even in the small hours, but if of a nervous disposition you might not fancy the walk from the main road down the driveway to Field of Dreams entrance if late at night. (Better these days than when I used to regularly do it because one of the successive new regimes installed lighting along the entrance drive). So I suggest you tip the driver 50 pesos to divert off his route and drive you to the front gate. Still a lot cheaper than booking a private taxi which will probably cost you 800 pesos one way late at night.
Another option when staying at Field of Dreams in the busy season (now) is that there may be other guests willing to share a cab or guys with rentals who could give you a lift if you chip in for gas.

Kiteboarding in cab is thrilling and fun, but pricey for the lessons, I would recommend kite club as the best for lessons, be ready to pay several hundred USA.

Sounds like the place works for you. But the original poster (Chris Long) reported that the room he requested in advance, along with having the reservation confirmed by the owner, was not available once he finally arrived. He also reported that when it was time to finally get the room he originally requested, the owner skipped town.

I learned a long time ago that it's best to get as much information as possible before drawing concrete judgments from only one persons account of events. That being said. There is no doubt that some things Chris mentioned are true. The dog barking could be an issue, the loud music, the limited hot water etc. The dog is not a problem for me. The music isn't either. But the limited hot water is. I have to take a shower before I let a chica get in. My friend in another unit said his water was hot most of the time. The wifi was very bad this trip. I hope Rick gets to resolve that soon. Personally, I wish there was security during the day. The way it is now, anybody can come on the premise without being stopped. This trip, I had a chica I know come directly to my room looking for me. While sitting on the balcony, eyeballing chicas. If I flirt with one walking by, they will and have come inside the gate and up to my door. But then again, perhaps many hotels are open to the public in the day? Of course there are a few that also have security or someone present to see who is coming on the property during the day.
Aside from those inconveniences, I enjoy my stay there. The location alone is what really makes it work for me. On many days, especially when it's raining, I do not even have to go around the corner to the strip. I can sit at Rocky's bar and meet girls walking by all day long. I may give some other places a try down the road.

The old price structure of 1000 pesos short time and 2000 pesos for long time (amanecida) is no longer easy to obtain.
He has tried the-latin and many other venues and he only found 1500 pesos for 1 hour service, which many times turns to be only one pop. Had to really dig well into the night to find a sole bargain of 2000 pesos a LT.
His wingman suffered for the same price inflation and so some italian guys he finally decided to ask for crosscheking information.
Therefore is that true or just the after superbowl price boom?

Its all ST which I thought was two hours but now appear to be one hour, and LT which I thought was short of TLN but now appear to be just more than two hours. D'Latins now appears to be "Pussy central" which allows the chicas to set the minimum. Deals can be found outside of D'Latins but guys arent looking elsewhere.

Of course you can pay more or less. We dont need to drive up costs thats for sure but are you really looking all night long after you caught a several hundred dollar flight and spent on a hotel for 500 peso or 12.50 in dollars!
Therefore is that true or just the after superbowl price boom?My understanding is that prices are higher that weekend because you have an influx of Simps, novice mongers, married dudes enjoying their annual getaway with the fellas, etc. That pop into town for the weekend with pockets full of money, maybe even being more ostentatious than guys that live there or go there often enough to know how to get more value for their peso with little effort.
In general the value has been decreasing, IMHO, in the sense that even if you pay the same, you are getting less than you did a few years ago. Of course Sosua is still a good time, maybe just less for those that experienced Sosua when GFE was common and the gangs flying in for short stays on Jet Blue were less prevalent. For guys that didn't experience the Old Sosua or places like Rio when Club Help was open, they can't miss what they never had. These are often the guys that see Pasions as a bargain.
I still have a great time in Sosua, but I find myself more attracted to other cities now because I don't go to the DR to listen to the latest hip-hop, as I don't do that even at home. I prefer to be more immersed in the Dominican culture than with a bunch of gringo mongers. Sosua has kind of become too gringo-fied for me and not in a good way. That being said, I still love the beach and talking with many of the expats that live there.

I am going to be in Sosua in a few weeks. I was planning to spend half the amount of time in Sosua and the rest at blackbeards. Instead I decided to cancel my blackbeards reservation as I never expeirnced Sosua for more than a day or two. Anyway I have a room reserved at new garden for the first 4 days of my trip. However since I cancled blackbeards I have not reserved a room for the remainder of my trip yet. Would I be able to walk up to a hotel and get a room? I know during the off season you can usually do that. I just want to be sure I can do it this time of year.

On the ground in Sosua on Thursday night, confirmed Dlatins is the Only place to be.
Place was packed, mongers, weekend millionaires, couple of gringa tourists and of course chicas.
1 I'm attracted mostly to mulattos, light skinned morenas, or gringa looking, and slim, all of which were in short supply but can be found, you just have to make the first move, smile, wave her over, generally chicas do not initiate except for a look, some can be aggresive.
2 TLN was 4k for the better looking. 2 k for st, deals can be had if you take a hit on looks, of course this is subjective and based on your preference.
3 I am at terra Linda, super nice, new garden and all others booked up, tl is pricey but comfortable, nice restaurant.
4 Cabarete do not go for chicas, was there before for kiteboarding, fun but not a good launching pad for sosua, too much distance to get to Sosua, cabarete is bizzaro or reverse sosua, where the old blonde European or aussie women go to run a racket on Dominican men.
Classsicos IS open tonight was told, including upstairs, don't see the point tho, only reason if you're looking for a better dressed chica, which I kinda like so I might go.

My understanding is that prices are higher that weekend because you have an influx of Simps, novice mongers, married dudes enjoying their annual getaway with the fellas, etc. That pop into town for the weekend with pockets full of money, maybe even being more ostentatious than guys that live there or go there often enough to know how to get more value for their peso with little effort.
In general the value has been decreasing, IMHO, in the sense that even if you pay the same, you are getting less than you did a few years ago. Of course Sosua is still a good time, maybe just less for those that experienced Sosua when GFE was common and the gangs flying in for short stays on Jet Blue were less prevalent. For guys that didn't experience the Old Sosua or places like Rio when Club Help was open, they can't miss what they never had. These are often the guys that see Pasions as a bargain.
I still have a great time in Sosua, but I find myself more attracted to other cities now because I don't go to the DR to listen to the latest hip-hop, as I don't do that even at home. I prefer to be more immersed in the Dominican culture than with a bunch of gringo mongers. Sosua has kind of become too gringo-fied for me and not in a good way. That being said, I still love the beach and talking with many of the expats that live there.Yeah I was in Sosua January 2013, Its pretty much wack now, Most of the Girls are no longer GFE, and every chica is all about business now, Alot of American's have found about about Sosua so its like another Costa Rica. Its all business now.
That why I'm glad I went and discovered the Philippines. Its one of the few last mongering places that is all GFE and you get more bang for your buck. You can bang girls for 500-1500 pesos,
Plus I know that it will never become like Brazil, Costa Rica or DR current state that it is in, Because the average American is not going to travel on a 20 Hour Flight. So I'm pretty much retired from Sosua DR, its corny now, Its just not the same anymore.

On the ground in Sosua. Saturday night Dlatins was the still the central spot to be, despite Classicos upstairs being open, seems classicos renovation and closure benefitted Dlatins greatly, no cover to go upstairs at classicos and the place was empty.

Arrived the Friday before superbowl with 5 other friends. Got two 3 bedroom condos at Las Terrazas which I booked 11 months in advance! As soon as we landed put our stuff in the condo and went to get a haircut on the main road not too far from Passions. Got our haircuts and went to passions and got a nice mulatta for the hour. Can't remeber much after that but a whole lot of fucking and pulling trains. Haven't been to Sosua 8 months so a few things change. Almost the main clubs are dead except for Rumba in the day and dlatins at night. Dlatins gets packed at night everyday. To my surprise Classicos is dead, Winners sports bars is dead, the bar next to winners on the side street was completely closed. The new classy club / lounge on the coner on rosen and Pedro Calisente was alwas empty, maybe a few people in there and that was during the super bowl. It is a real nice layout but probably expensive. Dracula is fucking garbage. Having not been there for 8 months ran into a lot of the regular girls there. Starting to get to know a lot of them, is that a bad thing? LOL still a lot of nice ass walking around, had tons on fun. Too much fun and fucking. At least 4 bottles of ron barcelo a night plus fucking at least 3 different girls each day. Price was 1500-200 short term didn't do tln with any of them but some of my firends did. No one paid more than 300 for tln. Probably cause we were having crazy parties in the condo and they just wanted to stay and kick it. 1.) When you get settled in, go to the liquor store and buy a couple, or a few, cases of beers. Since you are live anyways, you will probably have a few bottles that you bought from the duty free. Make sure you buy tequila cheap because these broads are not really hip to tequila.
2.) Stay at your spot and get faded as long as possible. The best broads come out later.
3.) Go on the block and keep getting faded with your boy. Even if you see something you really like, go to step 4.

Hey all. First off, I love reading about all your exploits and adventures and can't wait to make one of my own. My work just told me early this morning that I need to burn some of my vacation days saved up starting this weekend. I've searched the net for cheap flights to my desired locations-CTG, CR, and Sosua- to find that Sosua offers the best bang for the buck [no pun intended, ] including lodging, flights, and mongering. I'll probably be booking the flight tomorrow to Sosua from 19 Feb-28 Feb. I've heard that is a long time to spend there mongering but being from Hawaii, the beaches are a huge draw for me as well. I'll probably do some day trips to Cabarete here and there to kill some time and maybe try to catch a few waves if there are any. As for lodging, I think I'll try and stay at Rocky's simply for the price of rooms for at least the first few nights and maybe try something else along the way. Are there any other hotels worth staying at with similar prices? I remember reading the forums over a year ago and NG, as well as, Terra Linda were cheaper in price. Seems inflation hit hard.

But apparently they didn't have any experience dealing with Dominicans on the business front. As long as the money was pouring in, there indeed was a crackdown of draconian proportions. Don't forget at one point in time they made the clubs put up partitions to block the clubs' view from the street. But I'm guessing those investors probably got tired of getting pumped for money while being promised the moon by the Dominicans.

I was in Sosua in March 2010 (staying at New Garden) and I remember a guy from L.A. showing me where he was staying (TL) and how big the pool was. I walked into the lobby and got a card from the front desk.
I also remember walking into the lobby and seeing a chica I had banged the previous night (the famous Egenia) sitting in there with Presidente and a group of guys standing around drooling over her.
Incidentally, it was the last time I ever stayed at New Garden. I have been staying at TL every since May 2010. Probably will do something different going forward.
