This is why fewer and fewer guys post photos anymore. Unfortunately there are a lot of losers on this site.

This way, I only take the long bus ride only once.

i really liked this place just because it was across from d'latins and you could actually chill out but still watch the hustle. i also met my first gfe in sosua who was a bartender there. recently saw her working at d'latins last trip and didn't have the time to try and organize a meeting with how busy she was at the bar. plus, too much puss in every other direction lol.that is one of the reasons i liked del toro; there was a constant flow of women. the girls seemed to move back and forth from d' latin to check out future customers. last april, brother p and i camped out at my favorite table and we met a butt load of women.
i also used del toro for interviews. i would meet a girl in d'latin, ask her to join me for a drink across the street, and see how things went.
seems kinda shitty that the police raided it and found chicas **** there. seems real shady actually since that bar. from my perspective. was simply guilty of selling alcohol to minors because there was no bouncers or door men just like 95% of the other bars in sosua.if i recall, last april, no club was checking ids, including d'latin. even d'latin has change the way they do business. there used to be a side access to enter / leave, which is no longer there. they put up that damn green screen, see orgasmico's photo, so people could not enter on the floor section. now, it is not comfortable sitting at the sidewalk because your knees hit the damn screen!
That very bar "Latino" hosted one of the best damn" VIP party" in Sosua history. My partner in crime rolled in from the "westsideeee. i have no idea whatsoever whether the allegations of bribery from a condo developer to obtain the closing of all prostitution and sex tourist businesses is true. i would have thought that the forced closure of a number of smaller hotels such as new garden, don andres, don antonio, canto del delfin, casa valeria, casa cayene, europa, rocky's, atlantico, coco, romanoff, mary rose, voramar, etc. would leave sosua looking like a ghost town.
i would have thought the closing of passion's was instigated as part of the national pursuit of alleged sex-trafficking and pimping initiative rather than locally, particularly as the action was telegraphed weeks ahead by the national authorities, but what do i know? as regards el toro, i have no idea what was the real story behind that, and i did not even know that hotel colibri had been closed by the authorities. i think the restaurant is still open there.
After posting two "I'll do shots off your tits" and one "I'll do shots off your ass" trip reports, I wanted to come away with a different theme for this 7 night trip report. Thus, the title of the post. When I had two girls, taking the pictures were easy. But with only one girl, getting a decent shot was tricky to say the least!
Flight:
Flight was out of LAX to POP on AA for $750 and change. When returning, we had a two hour engine problem delay. That caused me to miss my connecting flight in Miami. AA put me up at the Doubletree Hotel and gave me a $12 voucher for dinner and $7 voucher for breakfast. Which I could use at the hotel or anywhere in the airport. I did not feel like that late drive back to San Diego because I really did run the streets hard for 7 nights; a much needed rest at the Doubletree.
Hotel:
For the second time, I stayed at Casa Cayena. Wilfried met me at the airport; as usual. He had a summer promotion going; stay 5 nights and get 2 nights free. Which worked out quite well. Casa Cayena also has a group (ISG) cash rate. The place is off the main road, kind of tucked in the back towards the semi private beach. The place is extremely quiet and well kept. I did get a chance to eat in the restaurant several times and the food was quite good. The complimentary breakfast menu had a ton of choices. Room security was never an issue. I thought the entire staff was professional and overall outstanding. I abused the pool almost every evening. I will continue to stay there.
Money:
I used the WU again and got a rate of 42. 22. The WU requires either a passport or a copy of your passport. Personally, I have a passport card that I carry for I'd, which they would not accept when I returned to cash in more dollars. No worries, there is a new change place just before you get to the small market, on the left side of the road; rate was 42. 20. The rest of the time I abused the ATM machines and vice-versa.
Cell Phone:
I went back to Orange and my SIM card was still up and running. I put 500 pesos of minutes on the card, which was plenty enough.
This trip I took notes; but still details escape me!
Day 1:
After my errands, I settled into the hotel. Turns out, there was a pool party going on with about 6-7 half naked Haitian women running around looking damn sexy. No, they did not go topless because Wilfried did not want any issues connected to the hotel. Hell, I knew four of the girls alone; nice reunion for us.
Nights at the Round (square) Table:
I was hungry, so after a run through Rumba and D'Latin, I settled to get something to eat from the hot trays at Rumba. Chicken and rice was ordered, then I settled down at the plastic tables to eat. Just as I started eating, I noticed a girl hiding behind a couple of people, and it turned out to be one of my favorite x-pregnant girls fucking with me. She sat down, had a drink and she started eating off my plate. Shortly thereafter, two more of my friends sat down for a drink. Within 20 minutes, there were six girls sitting and chatting, some eating, but all were drinking. It is really fun watching them interact and share with each other. They all hung out for about an hour before they realized it was time to work. The first girl that came, stayed with me for the night. Mr. Gogo, she said to tell you hello!
Day 2:
I was hanging with Herman at Siempre Sol and watching some sweeties walking back and forth. I spotted a hot Haitian and called her over for a drink. After a few minutes, we became best friends. So we headed to the hotel for pool & rack operations.
Later that evening, I was reunited with my best friend in Sosua, Juan. He was now working security at Rumba and as usual, I got a big bear hug. While sitting at one of the inside tables, two real cuties walked by and smiled, so I smiled back and said hello. They asked to sit down, and I was good with that. One girl told me she was from Santo Domingo and the other was from Haiti; I liked them both. Every time I said something the girl from Santo Domingo would translate for the other girl.
They suggested a Happy Hour and I liked that suggestion. On the way to the hotel, the translating continued. I stopped in the middle of the road and said,"Wait a goddamn minute, why in the hell do you speak French so well if you are from Santo Domingo?" She giggled and said she was also from Haiti. After about an hour playing in the pool, we brought the party inside. Inside, no translation was required; both knew exactly what to do!
Day 3:
Went to the beach, but there were thunder storms that kind of hampered things on the beach. I kept getting a text who I thought it was someone else that I met at the party on the first night. She wanted to meet me at the hotel, so a time was set. Got to the hotel and discovered it was a different girl, one that I known for over 3 years, but never fucked; I think. She was a tad chunky, but her attitude made up for the chunky issue. We spent a couple of hours in the pool and the room. It was a nice late afternoon romp.
Do I know you?
I was having a drink in D'Latin when some cutie walked up to me, smiled, said my name, and then gave me a kiss. I asked her,"Do I know you? Was it last April or before that?" She laughed and told me that she was with me last night in my hotel, with her friend! Holy shit! I must have been only functioning on 5-7 brain cells. I felt as stupid as Forrest Gump! My only thought was,"Run Forrest, RUN!" But I stayed and bought her a drink and I did apologize for being stupid. I made the same mistake a few more times throughout my stay.
Unexpected surprise:
I was sitting in Rumba hanging with Juan when this tiny dark skinned girl walked up to Juan and gave him a kiss. A bit too thin for me, but Juan told me she was a friend of the family and asked if I could buy her one drink. For Juan, it was no brainer, sure I'll buy the drink. Skinny and I started chatting, and the more I talked to her, the more I liked her. She hung and chatted with me for a couple of hours. I decided to bring her back with me for pool & rack operations. She turned out to be awesome in every aspect. I knew I would spend more time with her in the near future; Skinny was hot!

I think the restaurant is still open there.I agree. The author seems to envision a social network publicity campaign defending sex tourism and businesses that profit from it. He must be a bit too close to the issue if he doesn't grasp the absurdity of that. Politics is often about framing issues in an unfair way that the opposition can't directly respond to.
The underlying theme is correct. The reputation of Sosua for sex tourism hurts local real estate values. Every so often the government tries to tone it down. It succeeds in lowering the profile for a few years.
One irony is that a lot of money in DR real estate is from cartel money laundering and the crime and social dysfunction that's produced by their paying locals off in product doesn't exactly help real estate values either.
I received a report today from two Haitian women I know who are definitely NOT prostitutes. They were on their way to the supermarket together in the early evening by motoconcho to get some food to go to the beach in Cabarete tomorrow when they were pulled over and told to get onto a truck which already contained some women, apparently including Dominicanas. They were asked to show their work permits, but pointed out that they had non working visas and were not working as they are students. After a bit of discussion and showing their passports with current visitor / student visas they were released. They were not wearing prostitute clothing, although on the other other hand they were not very modestly dressed either, wearing shorts and low-cut decolletages. I could not ascertain any information about the appearance of the other women on the truck, but I imagine they must have looked like hookers. This occurred just west of the Europa hotel, not too far from Passion's building.
I advised them that it would make sense to tone down the clothing and that they would probably not have been pulled if they were wearing a school uniform of pants and polo shirt and closed shoes, or similar clothing covering the body. Of course they did not like this idea.

Family tourism may reduce income for families but overall provides a more stable atmosphere for Puerto Plata.
How much are you really saving when you take into consideration the travel time and additional expenses?
The Metro bus takes appx 4-5 hours from Sosua to Santo Domingo. It will also cost you $35 for taxi from Metro Station in Santo Domingo to Airport.

you are 100% right that this could happen, but hope the hell not.
if the authorities wanted to end p4p in sosua they would not try to ban it all at once, tried that before and it didn't work. they would simply chip away at it little by little and let it die by a thousand cuts. first get rid of the mainly haitian operated mps under the excuse of not having a massage license, then get rid of the number one (foreign owned) casa in sosua, the reason of which still is not perfectly clear, then shut down one of the smaller less popular bars right on the strip itself, for apparently having **** customers. then let it slowly bleed away, mongers hear of the crackdown and closures and slowly start to dwindle away. the girls hear of these raids and closures and slowly start to avoid sosua. mongers report that there are less girls and less action and even more mongers start to dwindle away. the girls hear that there are fewer and fewer mongers and less opportunity to make money and even less girls start to show up, and then you have a negative downward cycle until the whole thing just dries up and blows away...

It's a bit grim on here. This owner gets busted, this place gets closed, massage parlours get shut down, this ex-pat is killed.
I'm there again in October.
I don't go to Sosua often enough to have any real feel for the direction of the town, not in any real broad sense. I hope things continue as is, or get better; I've traveled as a sex tourist over the last 8+ years to Medellin, Colombia 2x, San Jose Costa Rica 2 or 3 times, Jamaica 1x, and Sosua 5 or 6x. As I'm decidedly into the second half of my life, (45 years old, married with family, professional NY'er, white if anyone cares) , raunchier and have more disposable income, having a place like Sosua makes me happy.
I didn't start by coming to the DR, and actually at times prefer other women's looks, but have more fun in Sosua the 3-6 nights I can get away, than I do any other place in the world, any place I've been.
I was sad Classico's got shut down; a / see to stay cool, and a dance floor to watch the girls was great, but D'latin is also nice, albeit hot.
I don't know the broader reasons why 'times are a changing' and maybe its not permanent.
I hope it's not more than political posturing, I hope there isn't a push to bring more tourism dollars in, cruise ships etc, but as a business person I understand why that could happen. My $50 a night hotel, drinks, cheap food and 2,500 pesos a night girl are nothing compared to real family vacation dollars.
I just like Sosua for what it is; it's a seedy, low end, working girl town. I love it!
For those of us that agree, let's hope and keep those fingers crossed. If it does cease to exist, I don't know with where I can replace it.

"Can you lend me some money please?" After I give her my policy, that I do not send money, she pleaded with me. I told her, that if I was with her there, things would be different. For one, I would take her to the store and buy her food. And I would do that even though I am not her boyfriend.
After that a little more pleading. Then I had to get a little deeper. I told her I have my own responsibilities here, and I do not have anyone to help me or to complain to. I can't be responsible for helping every woman in the DR just because we met. Then I told her."you are also still on dominican cupid looking for men to support you" "If I give you money, you are only going to take that money, use it, and look for more money from another guy on cupid" "And what do I get out of it, nothing?" "you will go on to the next man and do the same thing to him" "You asked me to loan you money. But how are you going to pay me back, with no job and no means of getting money?" "there is no guarantee that you will pay me back in the bed, once I come back to the DR, especially if you find a new boyfriend"
End result? Crickets coming from her end of whatsapp. LOL Of course I could care less. I wouldn't have said jack to her, as long as she didn't come right out and ask me for money. But once she did, she had to be told the deal.
What makes this situation interesting, is that I already sampled the juice. And paid for my time when I was with her last month. More often than not, chicas haven't even met the dude they are talking to online, and they start overloading a guy with their problems and sob stories, and then proceed to guilt trip a dude for cash, gifts or favors. But in this instance, having sampled the juice, and paid only after services were rendered, I was somewhat ahead of the game. There was another Santiago chica, I never mentioned. But everyday last month she was blowing up my phone, because she wanted me to send money to her Banco Popular account so she could "take the bus to Sosua to meet me". Yeah sure. That would have been money wasted. Especially since I didn't know what or who I was really sending money to.
The reason why I am reporting this situation is because guys should be reinforced on how good some of these chicas are when it comes to acting sincere and into a dude, when in reality they could care less about you. Their main focus is to get whatever they can get from as many men as possible, by any means necessary. Quite different than a monger who is quite willing to pay whats agreed upon between him and a chica.
I was sad Classico's got shut down; a / see to stay cool, and a dance floor to watch the girls was great, but D'latin is also nice, albeit hot.Classicos was open Friday and Saturday night and remains closed during the week.

Day 4:
While hanging at the beach with Herman, we decided to take a dip in the ocean because it was a bit hot. Skinny was scheduled to meet me at the beach at 3, but at 4, she was still a no show. She was Plan A. After Herman and I returned from our swim, more like dipping ourselves in the water, there were two new girls sitting at one of Herman's tables drinking a coke. I asked Herman if he knew the girls, and astonishingly he didn't. Fuck, he knows all the girls! But not these two. Herman asked the girls why they were there. They replied that they were looking for a Gringo. Herman knew I had a date, so he pointed to two other Gringos at other tables. They said no, pointed at me, and said, we like him. Jesus tap-dancing christ! I have enough on my plate without those two.
The two new girls (Thick & Thin) quickly became Plan B if my girl was a no show, I would take the new girls back to the hotel. It was their first day in Sosua; fresh off the bus! At 4:30, I received a call, Skinny was in route and would be at Herman's within 5 minutes. I had Herman tell the girls that I was sorry, but I would like to see both of them tomorrow at 3 at Herman's place; they agreed. Skinny showed up and was looking hot. We left the beach around 6:30 for pool & rack operations.
Later that evening I headed to CMP. One of the girls told me that 7 of the Passion girls now work at CMP. I like CMP because I can kick back on the couches and watch some fine ass dancing. However, the three nights that I went to CMP, there was a large dark ass chica that wanted to hog the one and only dance pole; she was nasty! But many of the other girls were hot! I did notice over the 3 visits, a lack of customers. Which I thought that CMP would have more customers with the closure of Passions.
On the way back to Rumba, I stopped at Ollie's for his great pork sandwich, and I picked up a whole chicken in case others were hungry. I hung at Rumba with some of the chicas that I knew for over 3 years. It was getting late and I was tired. The translation Haitian from day 2 stopped by and gave me a kiss. I told her I needed a massage ONLY. She agreed and we headed to the hotel. After two hours of pool & rack operations, I forgot our original agreement; she was really a hoot!
Day 5:
Hanging at Herman's and looking forward to my "fresh off the bus" dates, Thick & Thin to show up. They show up about 45 minutes late; that seems to be the norm for beach dates. The girls show up. They have no swim wear, they are thirsty and hungry. First things first, the drinks come, and then the menu follows. As they order, I go over to my favorite beach merchant and strike a deal for two bikinis. I return, grab the girls, bring them to the merchant, and the fashion show starts behind the curtain! I get my first glance at my new dates and I'm happy with the upfront investment. When we return, the food arrived. The girls are extremely happy at this point. I'm getting small kisses from both of them.
It was quite warm and the girls have swim wear; time to find out just how happy the girls are; let's hit the ocean! The girls swam like rocks, but they were fun to watch. They would rotate with me at times, and at other times, it was a 3 way hold and kissathon! They played well together. We headed back to the hotel around 6 and played in the pool for a couple of hours. They wanted to do a camera shoot for their Facebook pages; who was I to argue. I took about 30 shots and loaded them on their Facebook pages. The girls played really well during rack operations. I could tell they did not do the Happy Hour thing very often. Because they seem to giggle more, especially when the other was moaning, the other could not stop herself from giggling; it was refreshing to say the least.
After a good meal at Costera, and an hour long visit at CMP, it was back to Rumba. This big and beautiful girl (Biggy) came up to me, planted a kiss on me, and said hello. Here we go again,"Do I know you?" She looked at me and seemed shocked. She said that we talked last night for an hour and I told her I would take her to the hotel tonight. I was about ready to throw the bullshit flag. That was until she told me everything about myself: age, birth place, where I live, children, etc. So being a man of my word, I took her back for pool and rack operations. Her ass was rather big, but it was fun to play with nevertheless!
When Biggy left, it was around 3:30, so I headed to After One. The scene inside is always fun to watch, but the scene outside is even more fun to watch. I was hanging by Johnny's tasty sandwich cart and watched two different fights break out; all chicas. I ordered a sandwich and this chica with a beautiful face also ordered a sandwich. I suggested that we eat the sandwiches pool side at the hotel and she happily agreed. For whatever reason, I did not notice her huge Mack Truck ass until we started walking to the hotel. But I already committed; so what the hell. After the Mack Truck and I ate our tasty sandwiches, it was playtime in the pool and in the room. She was a ton of fun!
I was originally planning on taking a trip in the early spring as it's tough for me to take vacations in the fall and winter. I recently found out I had some use it or lose it vacation. I would have to take it in September. I have been thinking of a couple US vacation spots but would probably end up spending as much as a trip to sosua, so I'm thinking of just "maning" up and booking Sosua. I started reading the DR forums daily about a month ago and off and on for years. I'm a senior member on the USA forums but have no experience internationally.
Being that I speak no Spanish I've decided that BB or Sosua is probably best for me. I will also be making this trip solo. BB is tempting but I'm afraid I will get bored. I also like the hunt and the idea of meeting / dancing / closing the deal with freelancers. Will this even be possible todo with my lack of Spanish? Thoughts on this, is Sosua too much for a solo first timer? Ideally I would like to find a seasoned monger is Sosua to show me the ropes. Also do you think a first timer should be worried about the recent events? Thanks for any help or input guys.

they found no sign of any organ trafficking, but officials say something unusual was going on behind the walls of the academy for future health, where several dozen mostly german expatriates had set up a secretive spiritual group whose website warns of ufos, the evils of the usa government and looming global turmoil. more disturbingly, officers seized an arsenal that included military-grade assault weapons, other firearms, body armor, targets and a crossbow.
on tuesday, a judge ruled there is enough evidence to try 62-year-old sect leader peter brunck and his son, daniel roland, on weapons violations and a charge of "rebellion." they face up to 10 years in prison, and prosecutors said further counts are possible.
but nearly a year after the october raid, the police involved in the operation are also in prosecutors' sights.
authorities are looking into charges that officers beat brunck and his son while they were handcuffed, shot at an unarmed gardener and stole some of the $1. 5 million in cash and personal property confirep001ed in the operation.

Yes. Or said more simply: never send money to chicas. They don't even get offended really when you answer "of course, sweetie, I'll be in DR soon and I'll be happy to help you then". I've had several girls let me access their facebook and they pretty much all ask for money to gringos, even non-streetwalkers. It's just kind of a national sport. Telemarketers don't get offended really when you hang up on them. They just dial in the next customer.
On another note, a sweet Cupid teen from Torre Alta that I managed to take back to my hotel in Playa Chikita left me a one page handwritten love letter while I was taking my shower this morning. In good spanish amazingly. Made me feel all emotional, even though I am as deep into mongering as most of you. Definitely a trophy worth keeping.

It is Sept 2, and I'm is Sosua right now. My first time here during the off season. Lots of girls are available, but it is hot as a mother fucker. I am staying at Casa Cayana and the beach down the street is empty. I tried walking in the sand and lasted about 2 minutes. I was certain the policia were going to find my sun burnt corpse a few feet from the stairs leading out of the beach the next day.
This time areound I purched a data plan for my smart phone. It was about 500 pesos for 250 MBS (about a weeks worth). So far a wise investment as I can use google translate for those times when my modest Spanish fails me.
Casa Cayana is nice. Perfect location and good internet signal. Staff is friendly and food is good. Rooms like all other hotels, are a little run down but that appears to be the norm for Sosua. The girls I have talked to seem to like it because of the pool. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend it despite the shitstorm about a $1000 pesos going missing earlier in this forum.
I am curious about the future of Sosua if the "Anti Open Air Bar" policy is legit. That will certainly spell the demise of all the bars on Pedro Clisante.

This seems to be the nature of the beast in the DR. My observation is that Orange and Claro seem to drop the signal at the same time, so it may be that they share infrastructure.
Signal is usually constant in Internet cafes, but not in cafes that have Internet, if you understand the difference.
You can buy dongles from Orange, Claro, or Viva. Yes, you need a passport. From Orange you can get 3 gigabytes for 320 pesos for a week on a prepaid plan, once you have paid for the dongle and SIM that comes with it. The others have similar charges, though Viva may offer the best value for visitors.
The dongles will work anywhere, beach, etc, but are still subject to intermittent dropping of signal. However for the most part the service is fairly good. I use the Internet for trading stocks and have never lost money by being caught unable to close a position due to Internet failure, though I do have some contingency plans in place.
So don't blame the hotel. It may not always be their fault.

Once you went inside, the wifi was very poor. IMO those instances has more to do with the type of equipment the establishment has setup and the placement of that equipment. As well as the problem may be the hotel has not taken on the expense of having more routers and / or extenders installed for trouble areas. In Sosua Suites, Rick had routers in certain units, and that router was supposed to cover several units close by. That usually was not adequate coverage for all to use. And if that router went down, someone had to get inside of that unit to reset it. Under those circumstances, I feel the hotel is responsible, not any of those companies.
Now before you give me a lecture on how much it may cost a hotel to update or install more equipment. (I can almost guess that response would come next ). That won't be necessary. I understand all of that. I'm just reporting what I have experienced and how I feel about it. So now, part of my strategy when I choose a place to stay is to learn quickly what unit is the best location for strong wifi signal. Viva's data plan / service may be just what will work for me. So thank you for that tip. I will look into it next month.

Since you didn't designate you were talking to anybody else for any particular point and nobody else was talking about wifi as I indicated, as far as I was concerned your comments were addressed to me. So I gave a response that reflected that. Now I'm relatively certain that if somebody reads my response, they might know exactly what I was talking about and probably will nod or get a chuckle. And for the record, like you what I said wasnt just for you, that was for others that read this forum too. BTW, I don't think there is anythjing wrong with taking or giving personally. Day 6:
While on my way to the beach, I called Herman and asked how many girls were around because I was stopping at Big Ds for some BBQ and did not want to eat alone. So I ordered a whole chicken, some ribs, and fries of course. Herman said the girls had a surprise for me and I thought he was talking about Thick & Thin; not the case. It turned out that my favorite Haitian Happy Hour duo just rolled into town; I was surprised and happy when I saw them. I was not in any mood for a Happy Hour, so I took my favorite of the two girls back to the hotel for pool and rack operations.

One day at the beach, I noticed a light skinned girl (SD Girl) , but did not have a chance to talk to her. She was in Rumba and I snatched her over and we had the best time getting acquainted. The perfect day! It started out at the beach. Herman cooked up some awesome steaks and my new favorite girl, SD Girl, was in route. She showed up with no swim wear; not a problem. I brought her over to my favorite merchant and within minutes, she was wearing a sexy bikini. It was Sunday, and the pussy parade was in full force; lots of eye candy. Spent some quality time with SD Girl in the ocean, then later in the pool and room. It is always hard to leave the beach on the last day; way too many goodbyes to say, many hugs and kisses, and many happy thoughts on what happened during the week.
I have a tradition that will live on in my life. Each trip, I always have dinner with Little Dancer at our favorite restaurant, Moura Mai. She always dresses to the tee and the place makes her feel very special. It is time and money well spent each and every trip. Rick, now manages Rumba, had a spicy menu of his own there. Some of his dishes are included in the new menu. The spicy pumpkin soup and the blacken chicken are outstanding! I ended the night in Rumba, and with the non translating Haitian coming to the room and she tried squeezing the last bit of leche from me; she tried like hell, but it was not going to happen!
A few other observations:
Universo, the new place on the corner, was dead the entire trip.
Cucu, a new place across of Ollie's. Nice, but dead, more dead than Universo.
The manicure places are open in town and on the beach.

While returning home, everyone boards the plane. Turns out there was a problem with one of the engines so we had to deboard the plane and wait until the problem was solved. During the second boarding process, I run smack-dab into Chris Long. We were both in Sosua for at least 4-5 nights, yet we did not cross paths whatever. As small as Sosua is, it seemed impossible not to run into each other. I guess we were both preoccupied with chicas; that must have been the explanation!
Final thoughts:
This was my 11th trip in less than 4 years and I watched this place with its ups and downs. Some places are closed while enough places are still open to provide a good assortment of chicas. This place still is one of the best values in the world, and also, if you make connections, it is a great place to come back to on a regular basis. I would not be too concern about the new policy. Sosua seems to go up and down that way. The girls will still come, maybe not as many, but enough to choose from. My understanding is that some mongers cancelled their trips because of the closure of Passions; just what I heard.

But venture out a little more and you'll see plenty of streetwalkers. Side streets down towards CMP etc. I was there for 4 days and explored more this time around, and while the action is still fairly concentrated. If you're someone like me who enjoys walking around, you'll run into a treat or two. I never got bored after 4 days.

The problem I see here for Passions is that you can't legally employ women as prostitutes, and yet if you hire them as bartenders and then fine them if they refuse to have sex with patrons, then you are definitely breaking laws regarding coercion to have sex.

dlatin, my favorita (sosua native) told me that they are in jeopardy of closing also because of the fighting, and **** girls. *i have seen the fights myself. *usually moto drivers showing off which turns violent, or haitianas with beer bottles trying to cut each other. *2 or 3 per night on my last 3 trips, usually starting around 130am. *with the metalwork they're doing (see pictures posted last week in the forum) i'm not sure they're closing anytime soon. *they were working on it today when i walked by. *they did finish the metal gates, and framing what looks like windows. *me thinks it's going to be a hot one in there once thy close it in. *and it's already damn hot! *you'll notice a really stepped up security presence checking bags and cedulas at the door. *the back side gate entrance is also closed.
hip hop bar across from classicos, still closed, but new counters and bars were being constructed.
classicos, open tonight (saturday) not sure if that's just a weekend only thing.
rumba. *they're building window framework here also. *closing it all in. *just like dlatin.
the old scotia bank is being converted to a clothing store.

The verb "traffic" like many perfectly good English words, can be used in a number of senses.

I was originally planning on taking a trip in the early spring as it's tough for me to take vacations in the fall and winter. I recently found out I had some use it or lose it vacation. I would have to take it in September. I have been thinking of a couple US vacation spots but would probably end up spending as much as a trip to sosua, so I'm thinking of just "maning" up and booking Sosua. I started reading the DR forums daily about a month ago and off and on for years. I'm a senior member on the USA forums but have no experience internationally.
Being that I speak no Spanish I've decided that BB or Sosua is probably best for me. I will also be making this trip solo. BB is tempting but I'm afraid I will get bored. I also like the hunt and the idea of meeting / dancing / closing the deal with freelancers. Will this even be possible todo with my lack of Spanish? Thoughts on this, is Sosua too much for a solo first timer? Ideally I would like to find a seasoned monger is Sosua to show me the ropes. Also do you think a first timer should be worried about the recent events? Thanks for any help or input guys.

Days 3 and 4. Nothing new to report except that the grill (kitchen) at Dlatin is closed. No food, and noone at the stove for 4 nights. It's good for me, because now there's more places to sit.
2 Moto Politur followed me and hassled me last night for a minute. Asking me where I was going, my name, where I was from. I kept answering in English. Then they asked me if I was drunk and if I needed a ride home, and I started answering their questions in Spanish. I told them that I was going to my hotel, no, I didn't need a ride because I like to walk and need the excercise.
I think the Spanish got them, and they backed off and left. My wing was already in the hotel with his chica, so I was walking alone on PC. It was about 2:30a. Just a heads up.

What's the atmosphere inside Dlatins and the other bars? Is it really crowded? Hot?The few chicas that are "hanging out" during the day are all at Rumba.
Around 6pm, Rumba starts getting a bit crowded, and even more so if there a game on. All of the season openers were this week, so Rumba did good business until the game was over.
After the game is over, or around 9pm. Everyone migrates to Dlatin, and it's crowded, hot as shit, and you can't move freely. Same as any club back in the states. You can literally stand on the sidewalk, and feel the heat pouring out of the building against the cool air on the street.
I talked to a couple of expats at Rocky's today, and it seems like the goal is to get all of the clubs to close in their front walls, and force them to add air conditioning, with a future goal of also being able to set up tables and chairs on the street in front of the clubs. He mentioned that they wanted to get ready for more tourism. (Mentioned here a few pages back; search Carnival) I'm no expert on the local politics or situation, I'm just repeating what I was told.
The cigar shop has the usual amount of traffic. The place next to it has the usual amount of traffic with locals and karaoke. The bar below classicos is pretty dead. Rumba and Dlatin are your hotspots.

Extra security.The Milockie Hotel Safe Lock is made out of plastic so if someone wants to really get into the safe it shouldn't be a problem. There is a nylon strap that attaches the Milockie to the safe and it can be easily cut. Also, it comes with a cheap padlock. Need to buy your own lock. Not worth it for the $69 the company is asking.
As for travelsafe check out anything by Pacsafe. They are a good company.

Which model is this? The ones that I have purchased came with a key and you pry the plastic in the middle off to open the safe with the key. There is no master code. Even with my big Sentry safe in the States, once the code is changed from the original, then it is changed. The keypad screws off to change the batteries.

Orange Data Service.
I went to an Orange store with my chica today. She inquired about data for my phone. She was given a code to dial and from there just follow the selections for data, then choose a plan that suits your needs. All I had to do is add credit to my phone so when I made my choice there was enough credit to pay for the plan. I think I paid 300 pesos for a 7 day 700mb plan.
Last August an orange rep said I had to buy a plan for I think 1600 pesos for month. And he required my passport. This time no passport. Just a code. Very simple. Is this a new service or I just wasnt offered it back in August? Was I being treated like a local?
An expat friend of mine in Sosua told me a guy recently complained that $300 was missing from his safe. The Hotel is Condos Margarita across from Bologna restaurant on Alejo Martinez. This is disturbing. News because last August 2 guys I talked to thought they were missing money too. But they werent sure of the amount. But to them it appeared somebody else had been in one of the guys safe. I like the place but am leery about staying there. BTW their safes are keyed. And I dont think they are bolted or secured from moving. The unit I had I was able to pick the safe up if I wanted to.

Awaiting a few replies.You will be ok going solo to Sosua, just take precautions like when go anywhere else alone and keep your money in your front pocket or pockets that can be zipped up or buttoned up. Good place to hangout with expat would be Rockys. The owner Rick is a real cool dude. I will be there on the 19th this month staying at Casa Cayena.

The only sensible way to address such very vague and general questions is to read a lot of posts and form your own consensus. Even if one poster were kind enough to take the trouble to address all your questions in detail, it would still only be one person's opinion and might be very atypical of the average monger's advice.
For example, if you really have been reading, it should be obvious that at least 80% to 90% of the posts here are from guys who travel alone to Sosua. Why would they suddenly advise you that it is not safe?
Loads of detailed posts on the merits and demerits of New Garden and lots of other hotels and apartments.
Many widely different opinions on what constitutes "a hot latina chica" and dozens of different strategies for the best ways of meeting them (not to mention the admittedly small minority like me who wouldn't give the time of the day to "latina" chicas).
Honestly, it doesn't sound as if you have been reading at all.

It is also in your own best interests because you will get a better consensus from (say) thirty guys who have previously posted rather than (say) five who might reply to you now.
If someone asks for advice on growing begonias and says they have already been reading up, it is reasonable to assume they mean reading up on begonias not on servicing lawn mowers.
Yes, Americans do get robbed and murdered here, as do other nationalities. From memory (and I stand to be corrected) I cannot remember anyone who has suffered seriously who wasn't doing something stupid or morally dubious (drugs, loan-sharking, dodgy property deals, getting involved with lawyers, cops, and other low-lifes, inviting hardcore girls and their friends into their private dwellings, etc, etc). Bad things do happen, but for every one that does there are twenty urban legends. I have never heard of a short-visit monger who acted sensibly having a serious problem.
Keep reading, then ask specific questions. If you just ask "where and how do I find the most beautiful girls for the cheapest price" you will just get a lot of contradictory responses from people riding their own hobby-horses.

When I said I was reading up, I was just implying that I am new to the forum, and was commenting and thanking all of you for making the contributions to the forums. Both, you are correct, it is better to get different responses from many people rather than getting a few replies from a few individuals. I cannot get too entangled into the urban legends that surround cities and countries as well, or I may not ever travel. I cannot tell you how many times people told me not to go to Brazil and Colombia, although in Medellin, Bogota, and Rio I felt safer than in many cities where I live. But, they did try to steer me away from not going, and I have many unforgettable memories from these places. Now, does that mean I would go to Caracas, Venezuela. Probably not. I have just heard too many bad things about the crime there. Thanks for the advice again guys.

Guys need a fairly thick skin on here, but that is fair enough because it's good training for Sosua! One cannot be too thin-skinned there.
I like Old Kool's cheerful and enthusiastic attitude but I don't entirely identify with his rose-tinted view of Sosua. It is no sort of "heaven" and you can get burned if you don't keep your wits about you, but it is great value for those coming from the Eastern Seaboard or Florida and want cheap and cheerful sex. Don't get drunk, let some ex-pats or regular visitors show you around your first couple of days, dress inconspicuously and don't wear jewellery or flash money and you will do fine.
Aaahh, what a wonderful time I had in Sosua and Santiago this weekend. I was told that Boca Chica was shit compared to Sosua. What an understatement! I thought I left Disney World in Fl. Definately more rides in this "Small World afterall". We Arrived around 10:30 pm Friday and headed directly to the strip after checking in. Spent 20 min or so "swatting flies", before I succumed and took a thin pretty one from the bar. How many times can you have your crotch stroked before you loose your mind, right? She was very sweet but once in la cama, she was very aggressive. After an hour, I sent her on her way and took a few minutes to aquaint myself to my room and freshen up. Back to Rumbas. Now I decided to take my time and find the one I was really after. For me its big tits and ass. What a selection! Within 2 minutes, found one with ample goodies. Time for more pie, LOL. In my room, I found myself with THE NICEST SET OF KNOCKERS I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. I'm talken big, perfect, natural DDs. Wow, had to keep her all night. Woke up with morning light shinning through.
Next day, decided to let my sleeping dog lie. I just wanted to have some beers down on the corner and watch the world go by. We were joined by a few girls, if you can believe that, LOL. Within minutes my buddy left with his girl. I drank with mine. Her name was Blausia. I told her it wasn't going to happen with us (was holding out for 12 piece) but I would'nt mind her company. We sat and drank and had a realy good time. I just about broke down with her, but decided to leave and relax at the hotel, solo. I was'nt in my room more than 10 minutes when there was a knock at the door. The maid said I had a visitor. It was Eva. She read my mind. For three more hours, my dreams came true. Now, this girl never asked me for money and she gave me more than I could give back. It was very special! I swear this girl came right out of Playboy magazine. We all had dinner and back down to the bar on the corner for beers for a couple hours. My friend grabbed a couple girls and we went back for a late night swim in the pool. The gaurd was unsure, but allowed our little party provided we keep it down. Skinny dipping, dick sucking, pool fucking fun for all. Back to my room for more lovin with Eva. (yes I did give her some cash, but I willing gave it over. She never asked me)

Had breakfast and took some pics by the pool with Eva. Her dark skin glisening in the sun light. Very photogenic. One guy asked if he could snap one of her. Due to time and flight scheduling, I had to leave for Santiago for my flight home on Tuesday. Kissed Eva goodbye and off we went for a little road trip. Around 3:00 checked into a dump of a hotel I stayed in a couple years ago called the Colonial (seems to be a Colonial hotel in every latin country) , I like the place because there is a balcony over the street and I can watch all the people down below. About 10 blocks away is a Cathouse called the Tropical. I've been here before and we decided to go again. I had quite a few beers there and made a deal for 2 girls, a white one and a black one for $50. 00. What the hell. I'm in. Wow, they threw me around like a little rag doll? The funny part was they wouldn't fuck me with the same rubber on. We went through 4 rubbers in about 40 min. I just love watching porn while 2 chicks are servicing me! Thats about the jist of it, dinner from a bodega and trying to sleep in a hotel with very little a / see. Caught my flight the next morning with reality calling my name. Can't wait to go back!

i don't understand everyone's obsession with new garden. overpriced and crappy. some people say there are girls on site, well the girls i saw on site were horrid looking and some had that washed up druggy look to them. i wouldn't let my dog swim in that pool, it was cloudier than a fall day in seattle. the front desk staff were rather incompetent and always gave funny looks to the chicas i brought back.
i stayed there 2 nights then moved down the road (toward **** cl. can't remember the name, had a big restaurant that was up a few stairs) and had a nicer room, better pool and more professional staff who just did their job and go the girls cedula without making comments or faces.

Yeah, let's not downplay Sosua Beach. I love Sosua Beach albeit not for the women. Sometimes a man just wants to pull up a plastic chair, grad a shot or two of mamajuana, grab a plate of pica pollo, light up a Dominican cigar and chill the fuck out. The ho's back in town can wait.

I went to a local strip club in the DC suburbs. I compared the club to the action I see in sosua clubs. The local girls on average are older average 25 or so. Attractiveness; the local girls were not bad, They were mostly 7 or better with huge nice asses. I felt like a midget because they all wore 6 inch hills. If the local girls were on the menu I would not have to leave home. The local girls are dedicated street girls. They seem harder then the Sosua girls. My conclusion was that if Icould fuck the local girls for the same money I would be very satisfied. There were about 30 girls in the club and every one was doable.

Anyway I am now thinking of going back to Sosua in October (is that the slow season)? Furthermore I will be staying at Sea Breeze hotel, would you guys recommend it? Stayed at New Garden in my first trip.
I'm on a tight budget (flying in from the UK) so distance / airfare wise I am also thinking of going to monger somewhere in Asia.
Problem is I'm looking for the most bang for my buck but I do have a type and that's curvy women with big butts! So would you all agree that asia isn't an option?

Compared to going to POP from gatwick, a return to samana with thomson only costs £10 less when I researched it. One of the firends you mention isn't Weyland from the other board by any chance is he? As he advised the same to me.
What I plan to do is to wait closer to the flight's date and hope the price goes down, around £570 at the moment which isn't too bad. But then a direct return flight to Bangkok costs the same and I haven't been there.

I holidayed here from the UK for three years (eight months in total) and have been living in Pto Pta for the past four. I have never picked up many girls in Sosua. Mainly go there to socialize with gringo friends. I don't really like the sort of full-time pros who comprise most of the Sosua selection and I am too old and wrecked to attract non-pros, so I have mostly gone for semi-pros.

Arrived to Sosua yesterday to hotel Vormar for a 8 days. Went out to the strip last night, pack evey where with girls more than enough. When coming from the SDQ ahead toward SD going to Sosua. There's only one turn to the right to get you on the correct highway; it is a very quick with no signs, if you blink you'll miss it. If you miss it, you will have to go in the city of Santo Domingo this would add about 30 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. There will be no other opportunity to make a U-turn because that road does not offered an exit. I didn't see a exit coming from SD ahead toward SDQ. The ride took us 2 hours and 45 minutes. The GPS in HTC phones works excellent, just remember to Turn Your Data Off. GPS works with satellite and data it is not necessary.
We arrived in Sosua 5 deep Saturday at about 5 o'clock. We went to Rumbas. There were about 25 girls ranging from 5 to 9. Brandon and the two of newbies we're starting to lose their composure. The owner called a police officer to service security while we were there. We all regroup and hit the strip about 12:30 am. Brandon the youngest of all of us about 27 years old runs into his frat brothers on the strip. Poor Greg, Sly and Brandon could not make up their minds. Too many chicas, too many different flavors, too short of time. Brandon called his father complaining that he could not make a decision. I had another cultural experience. What I am looking for is info on leaving Sosua for a 1:15 flight out of sdq, will I be able to catch the bus out of Sosua with plenty of time to get to the airport, would like to be at the airport no later than 11:15am (I leave on the 28th its a Monday, the last time I paid the extra money and took the return flight from pop).I do this all the time as the SDQ Delta flight is always the most reasonable price it seems. He often made out well on this as sometimes it was only a few minute ride but I was too tired and it was too hot to walk. It is an inferno in Sosua now. Cabarete cost 600 pesos there and back for the one time I used him and my one trip to POP was 850 pesos. I'm sure you can make other arrangements with him. While the rates might not have been the absolute best, I wasn't going to worry about a few dollars and sacrifice reliability and comfort. I also used publicos to go to Cabarate a few times and Puerto Plata once. They're a real bargain and only cost about 150 or 200 pesos. I spent much of my days in Cabarete.

as mentioned earlier, i spent last week in sosua. i really have nothing to add that hasn't been said about the wimmin. all i'll say that it's not my type of scene. however, some of the beaches are incredibly nice.
i first went to playa sosua, which i thought was dirty, small and generally not very nice. it was fairly empty mainly because it's low season now. that was the only good part. after the first day, i did some exploring. i walked along the water where the hotels and condos maintain "private" beaches. as far as i know, private beaches are illegal, but this is the dr. i started from my condo apartment on calle ayuntamiento. you have to go through a private condo to get to the walkway by the beach. only one time was i stopped and i just smiled and said i only wanted to take a walk and they let me through. there's several private beaches on the way to playa sosua. i don't know the names of any of the beaches, but all of them were pristine and virtually uninhabited. then i came to the beach by the hotel, sosua by the sea. i started talking with the caretaker and he offered to let us on the beach with chairs and umbrellas for 300 pesos. can't beat that and the decision was a no brainer. we were alone most of the time on the beach and they brought us food and drink. this was one of the nicest beaches i've ever been to as far as cleanliness, swimming and the beach itself. and not a tout in sight! the only negative was the heat. even in the shade of the umbrella it was hot as hell.
i also liked cabarete beach. it was also clean and the water was nice. it was much nicer than playa sosua and worth the small effort to get there and see the town. it was actually more pleasant weather-wise because the winds made it feel cooler. however, the winds weren't sufficient enough to really enjoy the various [CodeWord118] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord118), i. e, kiting, wind surfing, etc. supposedly, september is not a windy month. the touts didn't seem to be out in force and didn't bother me too much. but those "private" beaches in sosua are first rate. however, i doubt they're so empty in high season.

Four hundred million pesos for renovation Sosúa beach?
The Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier Garcia announced that for the restructuring of the bay of the resort town Sosúa the government has made four hundred million pesos available. According to Mayor Ilana Neumann of Sosúa good agreements have been made with all current owners of the casetas (souvenir shops). When the renovation of the historic center of Puerto Plata is completed, they will start with the renovation of the beach of Sosúa. There will be constructed two shopping center where the current owners of the casetas can rent a shop at both entrances to the beach. With these changes, Sosúa should be more attractive to tourists who demand better service and more luxury.
With the cruise port in Maimóand and the renovation of the historic center of Puerto Plata, the north coast will be culturally more attractive, says the Minister of Tourism.
