My only point all along has been that unscored pills should not be split, because they cannot be cut accurately, not because they are not homogenized. Obviously it does not matter very much if guys are biting off a bit of a 100 mgs Viagra pill to avoid taking the whole pill due to unpleasant side effects, but in a clinical setting professionals such as doctors and nurses are accountable, so they cannot use random processes like splitting unscored pills without exposing themselves to potential liabiliity if the patient suffers some kind of adverse reaction to the drug and the manufacturers recommendations for administration have not been followed.

After observing how the Cubans government handles its people; I can also say that Cuba will have a very slow transformation. The Sosua is the wild wild west. I'd advise you to RTFF for future questions, it's all pretty much there.
You could drive to MIA and take AA to POP. They have a daily nonstop. POP is only a 10 min ride from Sosua. It's a more expensive airport to fly into, but it is convenient. Only problem is that if you want to go home from POP you are still stuck on a daytime flight. I don't believe POP operates at night, it's only seasonal with a couple airlines. I personally prefer to get into POP and leave out of STI as that's 24 hours and I can get more time in Sosua.
STI (Santiago Cibao Intl) has flights from MIA, FLL, and JFK. I think others too. It's a 1. 5 hour ride from Sosua, you can take a taxi for $90-100. The ride itself is an adventure if you go through the mountain way. Especially at night. No lighting, dangerous, and bumpy at times. I like going through STI when returning home as I can take the late / early morning 2 AM flights through JFK. If you fly into STI, and leave out of STI, it will save a bit of money. But then you have taxi costs to / from Sosua. A bus (Caribe) is also an option and significantly cheaper than a taxi. It takes longer by bus but it's a matter of preference.
SDQ (Santo Domingo) has the most number of flights, including multiple nonstops from South Florida, but to drive from SDQ to Sosua is going to be time consuming. I usually find that SDQ is cheapest to fly into with lots of flight options, but if I go to SDQ its to stay in Santo Domingo and only once have I gone to Sosua from there. If you have time, you could do Santo Domingo / Santiago / Sosua in a week with ample time in each location. All three have something to offer.

The United States does not have Brazil on it's Visa Waiver Program. There are some countries (like Canada, Andorra, Belgium, and Singapore) that do not require a visa for entry into the United States. Brazil is not on this list so in retaliation they charge $160 for the tourist visa. You are allowed multiple trips, for 10 years, each trip not to exceed 90 days (for Canadian, Australian, and American citizens only).

Took Caribe Tour bus from Santo Domingo to Sosua Monday morning. Took exactly 5 hours, but was reasonably comfortable costing P325. In Sosua, Caribe Tour stopped just short of Sosua centre so took a van for the last couple of kilometers, costing P50. I am sure that was a Gringo price but I did not want to argue for a few cents. I am sure you can ask the drive to drop you nearer to the center but my Spanish and I are slight shy.
Checked in the New Garden Hotel, with spacious rooms, a small pool and is satisfactory in the main. Near actions on Calle Pedro Clisante. Sat with this great guy called Nicholas from Croatia at the beach and in front of Rumba. Girls will come to you, chatting you up and the rest is up to you. Most proposed an inflated price of P2 k+ without mentioned details. (I am Chinese so stood out a bit.) Anyway, I paid P1. 5 k each for a couple of girls for short time fun. EThat's as far as the Caribe bus goes. The Metro bus from Santo Domingo stops at the Texaco, 2 blocks from New Garden, but it only runs 3 times per day.

We were pulling dead bodies out the bus. We had to move the dead bodies to get to the live people. That was the bus we could have caught but we decided to drive. I was completely exhausted until the ambulance arrived. It took about an hour and a half for them to arrive. These pictures were taking after we pull people from the bus and two hours later . I wonder did I do something wrong because so many people were just standing and watching.I guess that's why I couldn't come last night. I work mami for an hour and a half.

Last time I just missed this one on the drive from Santiago to Santo Domingo. This was right at the time the guy who said he was sure he could drive in DR because he drove tractor trailers and was the best driver in the world.That would be me, except I never claimed to be the best driver in the world. What I can't understand is why you, and a few others choose to attack and insult people rather than actually being helpful. It's a very common internet phenomenon. Just like anyone else who spends a significant portion of their time driving, I see wrecks as bad and worse at least 50 times per year, although the bus wreck is the sort of thing I only see about once every 10 years, although in the US, the body count is usually less and the emergency response is usually only a few minutes. Minor accidents (vehicles need towed away, but no serious injuries) I see a few every day.

I was gently corrected for complementing on the food in Sosua. Of course, after a month in Peru, anything tastes good. General living standard is lower in Peru. Also, it was obvious that the steak in Casa 21 was intentionally over-cooked because only good meat can be done medium rare. So it was not ignorance but dishonesty and disrespect. They treated me worse than than the girls on Pedro Clisante.
Girls on the beach and in town will try to sit with you, ordering food for commission or just hunger. I never invite them to sit with me as I do not want to entertain them. For me, sitting down is solely for browsing at the girls. If I need to talk to them, I stand up, chat with them, get their numbers and then say goodbye. If they are pushy, I delete their numbers straight away. Most of them have been in the game long enough to know what to do and try not to be pushy. First day they yelled out Chinos at me but they learnt quickly, not taking me as an easy target. Not yelling out on the second day on.

Back to Cuba for a week before Lima and Santiago (Chile). Still have to taste the ladies in these places.

They see a man with money, they go out with him, hoping that it turns into a relationship and he takes care of her needs and her family needs. She sleeps with him, and I'm sure that some sleep with men ASAP (hey, I'm not complaining) with the mindset that if I do this, he'll take it as a sign that I want him, and he'll take care of me. And the next day or a couple days later they might say they are feeling sad because they have to pay these expenses and those expenses, and she does not have any money. And she could look for a job, but it's hard to find a job and even if they do find a job it's very low income. This does not make them a prostitute. Some of these women don't even like to go out very much either. These types of women are on DC, and hope to find a man who wants them and can take care of them. They are not pros, and in the worst case they are semi-pros. To me anyways.
Then you have the other type of women. The ones you find working in the hotels in Santo Domingo, or Santiago, or in the malls in the bigger cities, or at the airport for the US airlines (some of the ones at STI and SDQ are gorgeous). These are women who probably have some level of education, and want to work to earn an income, give some to their family but also make something of their life. These are the types of women I like to look for on DC. And very very rarely, have I come across one that I've slept with that asked for money the next day or a few days later. Why? I consider these to be the more modern Dominican women, somewhat more in line with how a majority of us might see things.
Both types of women to me are non-pros, although one could be considered semi-pro. Just depends on how you view things. When we arrived based on the impact the truck was in the bus lane at least the front part was in the ditch. The bus stayed in its lane flip several times and landed on its side. While my experience has not been quite the same as Old Kool, most of whose women have two kids by the age of 17, it is my experience that there are many women in the DR who are single mothers who have either one or two children and that if they have jobs, the jobs do not pay enough money to pay for relatively expensive items like powdered milk, pampers, and the medications that children need for frequent infections with water born bugs like giardiasis and various other infections of childhood, not to mention electricity that is the most expensive in the world.
You simply have to compare the type of earnings that unskilled, or even skilled workers like teachers for that matter, make in the DR with the actual cost of things in the stores, supermarkets, and pharmacies to see that this is the case.
So yes, the majority of Dominican women who make themselves available for relationships with foreign guys are in it to some extent or other for the money that comes through cash contributions or an enhanced lifestyle through association with a foreigner. There may indeed be a tiny minority of successful single Dominican women who spend their earnings on foreign toyboys like Mr. Enternational, but that kind of experience will not be typical of most men who frequent this board.
The vast majority I have met have children and the welfare of their children is the number one focus of their lives and if they are asking for money it is usually to get things for their kids, though of course they also get money for their parents, and for themselves to go the salon to make themselves look good. Supporting toyboys is the last thing on their agenda.

It would be helpful if you could give a breakdown of how much some of your ladies earn and how that relates to their monthly expenses. I do know that the monthly electricity bill for a small apartment will ususally run $70 to $80 per month just for using lights, a small fridge, a tiny water heater, and some overhead fans, and a lot more if air conditioning is used. I also know that pampers go for about 15 pesos each and that it would cost about $60 a month to use a public taxi to commute to work, and double that or more if a motoconcho ride is necessary at either end. I also know how much gasoline costs in the DR and how much propane for cooking costs in the DR.
I also know that qualified professionals like nurses make about $500 per month and a lot of people in clerical or sales jobs make a lot less than that. For example a super attractive young woman who was bilingual in English told me she was making 6000 pesos per two weeks as a hotel receptionist, and teachers have told me they make about the same amount.
Is that a fact or not? How much are your Dominican girlfriends making?
To me it seems odd to go to a country 100 times and still not be able to have a basic handle on the national language. My Spanish is better than yours, but you are presumably also fluent in Thai and Portuguese as well as French.

Today I came to Sosua from Santo Domingo. I went to metro buses before noon just to learn that next bus to Sosua leaves at 4:00 pm So I took the bus to Santiago to check if Caribe which has a station next to Metro has a better schedule. Lucky me I found a bus that left 10 minutes after I arrive to Santiago. I met a guy from New York that is going to be 20 days at New Garden, nice guy.
I arrived to Casa Cayena. I reserved a month ago but there was only one room available on floor 3. I informed Winfried my preference for a poolfront first level room so if a room became available I asked for a change. Today I got a room in one of the poolfront bungaloos. Thanks many thanks!

Depending on how long you are planning on staying, the various bus services are a good, reasonably priced option. Metro a the Caribe run Santo Domingo to Sosua with stops in Santiago and Puerto Plata (Caribe also stops a few other places), Astrapu and Romana, and others run Santo Domingo to San Pedro de Macoris and La Romana. All have nice comfortable buses with A / see, some with toilets. There are smaller buses that also run to the smaller cities and towns.
You also can make some interesting connections on the buses, more so if you speak Spanish. Had a reasonably cute young thing try very hard to get me to get off the Astrapu bus with her, but I was focused on other plans, and I tend to be more cautious. On the Metro to Sosua met 2 interesting ex-pats that made the time go by quickly.
Taking buses, instead of having a dedicated car and driver will probably cost you an hour of travel time each trip, but it will save you quite a bit of money. It also keeps you from having to deal with the problem of the car breaking down. You might find yourself stuck paying hundreds just to get back on the road. Probably not an issue with an ex-pat driver, but definitely an issue with a Dominicano.
The hard part is finding bus information. Some of the larger companies have online schedules, but the rest, it's hard to find out much about them. One method is to get a profile on Dominican Cupid, and / or Latinamerican Cupid. Start talking with girls in the different cities you want to conquer and get the bus information from them. Also a good way to find out about local hotels, since many don't have a website and aren't listed on travel sites.

There are negative guys who put down others for having a good time. Seems they haven't been able to crack the Sosua Samba, and constantly feel ripped off. They usually hang in packs.

My plan was purchase motorcycle, tour island and get laid. No matter how physically fit you are, I would have said no to motorcycles. A fellow poster on this board, on his first time visit to the DR, got onto a bike. Everything was fine, until he got hit by a car in Puerto Plata where he had rented a place. He almost lost his life and it took him a long time to recuperate once back into the US. I was in Sosua my very first time in the DR, in 2011. Airtickets were still cheap for POP. Anyway, hung around there for a week, also thanks to Frannie's help "in loco" and help from others on the board, Charles Pooter in particular. Went back there a couple of months later but for two days. Both these times, I had consorted with available women in Sosua, for pay of course. Subsequently stopped going to Sosua altogether. However, lately, I have gone there almost every trip to the DR, to spend a couple of days and for, please do not laugh, for food. I eat DR food while there and after a while, I miss other kinds and Sosua is a treasure trove for high quality food -genuine Italian, German, French that I can't find in my town. Women visit me there from other towns and so did not have any need to meet the locals.
I have no specific place but I spend more time in Santiago. And then, because I rent a car, I am mobile. From Monte Christi, Santiago Rodriquez, to La Vega, Bonao, San Francisco de Macoris. Try to avoid the capital because of its traffic and big city issues. As you know, you can find women anywhere there. Of course of a certain socio economic group so whatever others might say, I always pay.

Sosua Update June 19,2015.
I still spend more time than I should in Sosua however, as time goes on it is less and less. Below I have listed some of my most recent observations for your review.
City Lights:
City Lights remains dead during most of the week however on Wednesday nights they have karaoke. The bar is set up with a stage and microphone along with a screen for the lyrics of the songs to be posted. On the night I attended there were maybe ˝ dozen people there mostly women. Despite the fact contestants sounded horrible it's worth a look.
Chez Mon Real:
Chez Mon Real remains a late night gathering spot for socializing and eating. Sometimes couples can be seen eating and freelancers can be seen standing in the area. You can sit inside, outside or grab something at the fast food window.
Rumbas:
Rumbas remains a great place to drink eat and watch chicas and is ground central for everything from the 1500 pesos chicas to the 3500 pesos chicas they can all be found in Rumbas. AS usual it is slow during the week and rocking during the weekends. *Be careful of the chicas who hang outside and never enter, some are [CodeWord902] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord902) despite the fact they don't look it.
Club X:
Club X remains an alternative to Classicos however recently it has taken more of a Dominican feel. Dominican and Haitian men frequent the club because there is no admission unless there is live entertainment. Classicos / After One:
Classicos admission is 200 pesos and can best be enjoyed IMHO Monday through Thursday when the crowd is lighter than on the weekends. Yessssur Classicos is a "RIPOFF!" However your armband gets you into After One free of charge. I like the vibe of After One because it is more laid back and the monger has more leverage dealing with the chicas because it is so late. However, don't get it twisted there are still chicas that want 2500-3000 pesos ST, you just have to know how to negotiate.
Tarifas:
In short 2000 pesos is the new 1500 pesos and it is common for women to ask for 3000 pesos ST and 4000-5000 pesos for TLN. Of course the old prices can be had with regulars, stragglers and those you have built a rapport with. At the end of the day the advantage is the exchange rate of 44 DOP 1 US.
Temporada Baja:
It is low season in Sosua and you can tell be the looks on many of the chicas faces they are disappointed. It is difficult for the chicas who stay in Sosua long term because they have daily expenses that are simply not being met during this time of year. True it is a buyer's market however some chicas are still not budging off their high end prices, however this season can be used to the mongers advantage if you know how to choose, relate and negotiate.

Just landed in Sousa. I will be here for a while. I have not been to Sosua for almost 9 months now and Right now everything seems slow. I went to Classicos last night and it was slim pickings. Nothing but hood rat trash from Rumbas. Maybe I'm getting older and becoming more picky since I have been to Brazil and Columbia. The women in south America are way more classier and take care of themselves. It's hard to pay a girl 3,000 pesos when she has a beer belly and stretch marks. Also Classicos now charge $2000 pesos if you want a seat down or if you want to sit by the door. But anyways I will keep you guys posted with more live updates. Heading to the beach!

I was in Arequipa for three weeks learning Spanish, then a week in Cusco and Machupicchu. Living standard is low, making turn-over in any restaurant slow and dishes not well-made and enjoyable. Altitude was high, making food difficult to digest and enjoy. Worse still, for personal reason, I cannot eat chicken, the main meat for Arequipa. Chifas are in general bad and I did not finish any dishes from them, against my childhood upbringing.
Ceviches are famous but its acidic and spicy nature hurts my stomach. I cannot physically eat another after the first attempt.
I am Chinese, old and with comfortable means, so I eat less but eat better. Where I am frequent, we like restaurants which are expensive, offer good food in small quantity for taste and not for substanence and we like to walk out teased and slightly hungry. If a city is low in living standard, it tends to offer something not to my liking. But then each to our own.
Anyone planning a gastronomic tour will include their own restaurants and the lists by individuals will be very different from each other's. I do not share the tastes of all my friends (and enemies). Great to have variety in life, in food and women. If we like the same thing all the time, it will be very strange indeed.

I had trips to Cotui and Moca cancelled due to chica malfunctions so I have been itching to hit the road and break the monotony of Puerto Plata- Sosua. I met a chica on Dominican Cupid from Bonao so I decided to take a road trip. I have been 3 times since however all my trips have been on Carribe Tours and the Bonao Gua Gua. This was my first time venturing out in my Jeepeta beyond the north coast and what an adventure it was. I know there is a way to get to Bonao by taking the Navarette- Puerto Plata Hwy into Santiago but my GPS directed me to the Ruto Panoramica and when I got on that road I could have slapped the lady in my phone for taking me that route I was a State Trooper before I was a local LE so I am familiar with rural country roads but I have never seen anything like this in my entire life! The Ruto Panormica from just outside Puerto Plata to Santiago provides incredible views but the road is absolutely TERRIBLE! It is paved one minute gravel the next minute and dirt the next minute then start all over again. Holes in the road can you say "YEAH!" Any vehicle other than a truck or SUV would have a difficult time traversing this road.
One of the highlights of the trip was being stopped by 2 Policia Nacional officers on a motorbike. 1 flags me down and the other stands there looking at me. So I asked if he wanted to see my license but he said no he wanted some money for gasoline. So I identified myself and his eyes got big and the 2nd officer stood to attention and saluted me. Then they started calling me "Hefe". WTF? I asked for directions to Santiago and after he finished I drove off. There were some decent views but I couldn't stop to take many photos for fear I might get run into and this road is the wrong place to have a wreck! I saw everything from men with macehttes walking down the road to knuckleheads drag racing on their motos. One thing I learned going forward on these excursions I need to be prepared to pick up hitchhikers I saw some women who wanted a ride but none were worthy of me stopping. Maybe next time.

New Gardens Hotel.
New Gardens is pretty much the same, really good breakfast (Best in Sosua) and it look like Lorenso kicked out the Chicas, girls are not allowed to hang out in New Gardens anymore. Not that I cared anyways, it was mostly hardcore chicas looking to catch your typical.

You know how awesome it was when girls were asking for 500+200 for room comes out for 700 pesos. Yeah 700 pesos now I need to waste my time bringing the price down because men are not only not asking for less but are also giving them gifts and over tipping. I actually don't dislike anything about living here and the food is the same for me since I my wife is Dominican.
See the thing is that no matter what you do they will know / suspect you are a traveler. It all goes on what you wear. Like I said negotiate at the end they want to make a quick buck. There are places that have been "untouched" by tourism tho you do see in some of them a couple of tourists but mostly older guys. The ones who know how bad things are getting.
Also for you guys hating. Let me clear things up ask anybody how the scene was before compare to now. Most of us now are looking into new turf like Cuba. Most of us don't want to sit on a plane for 17+ hours.
In the next couple of years things will either be better or worse. If we are able to travel to Cuba like how we travel to DR then that will take some weight off of DR now how will that affect the working girls. It can go both ways either they lower their price or keep on asking for more.

One was glad to give me three days for my initial 1000 pesos TLN at no extra cost except for feeding her. No way she wanted to go home in the storm to her (probably flooded) hovel.
Another strategy if a serious storm is imminent is to book into Blackbeards or Field of Dreams where everything you need is on site.

There are direct flights from SDQ and there are no restrictions as for US citizens. So how does this affect what Dominicans pay prostitutes in the DR, if at all?
Anyway, I think you are just getting local rates in the DR whether you realize it or not, and good luck to you, but if all the foreigners were only willing to pay no more than local rates, the DR sex industry would fade away. It is not entirely a coincidence that Sosua is the main focus of the sex industry in the DR, being a city founded after World War II by Jewish émigré refugees, (hence somewhat out of the sphere of influence of the Catholic church,) and in the north coast area with the greatest concentration of expatriate European residents in the DR, with numerous condo developments, schools, and such like.

Yes, 5 days in Sosua is excessive. Not! When it is time to go home you will wish you had another five weeks.
Best place to meet guys is on the beach by day. Meeting them in clubs at night it is harder to judge if they are assholes or not, what with the deafening racket, the alcohol and the hustle-bustle of chicas.

I'm not certain a place that tells you up front they are charging you inflated prices, qualifies as a clip joint. Now if they tell you 150 pesos for a drink then charge you an extra 50 pesos for each ice cube, that's a clip joint.

However you pay for convenience plus probably 1000 pesos commission goes to the taxi or tout who brings you in. Or at least 500 pesos, but I suspect more. By your standards anything behind the security checks in any airport is a clip joint, like the place I paid $11 for a sandwich recently at Miami airport as I was in a hurry and my connection was boarding at the last call. Places like Disneyworld and Busch Gardens are also clip joints as anyone with an all day ticket will be forced to pay for overpriced food and drink or will have to leave.

ThanksNone to worry about in Sosua. All you might watch are the taxis and the chicas. I haven't heard about any problems in Sosua, but in Santo Domingo, if you don't settle the price up front, you might find yourself being charged $50 for a $5 cab ride, or $100 for a $25 lay.

Thanks.In Sosua no. Though moto drivers will ask for 50 pesos for a 30 peso fare, thus overcharging by about 40 cents in US currency. Also some pharmacies will charge twice as much as others for the same medication, so worth shopping around.

The biggest one is the accident set up, if you are driving a motorized vehicle.
Likewise cops who stop you in a less public location are looking for a small gift.
After that is credit card fraud. Never ever use a credit card down there. The Waterfront Restaurant comes to mind.
Even if you trust the hotel, there may be later add-ons that can be troublesome to resolve from home.
Pickpockets are another way to lose your daily dinero. Don't be groped.
Paying in dollars for anything.
Paying tabs in dark bars with unfamiliar colored bills, and stuffing the change back in your pocket (without counting it like a nerd).

Apparently the Coconut Telegraph has "blown a nut" somewhere by reporting that I sold the hotel or plan to close it after 13 successful years. This is absolutely not true, and additionally, I don't have any partners either. Although I have been absent recently for personal reasons, I continue to invest heavily in improvements in all areas of the business. Just follow our newsletter for current updates.
As of last week however, I have decided to retire and sell the hotel. I guess that when I received my application for Medicare, my friends told me that it was MY time to relax, sit by the pool and drink a few beers with a good looking Chica! In the meantime, absolutely nothing will change. All of my employees are fully aware of the sale and have agreed to stay and expect that the new owner will keep them employed.

Hey all!
My favorite is having a birthday this weekend and I want to get her a little something. Since I am not going back til fall.
I was thinking of getting a gift card for something online, but have no idea what may be a good place to do that for her, since obviously the Spanish speaking internet world is far different than mine.
It will be like a 50 dollar gift, but I feel it is worth it as she has been very good to me! I really don't care if she gets gifts from others or fucks other guys like me. (Sure she does). I like making her happy and she will repay by letting me fuck her friends!
Any ideas for a good site for that sort of thing?
