La Mansion exact location and contact info has been added to the map. On Carretera Mella, Zona Oriental, half mile west of Hotel Aurora del Sol. Going east on Mella make a left on 9w were there is Lucerna Supermarket. La Mansion has a pool, you can see it on map.

One thing I tried to find out the last time I was in Santo Domingo, was whether the casinos have a sports book, to bet on American Sports. I was told that when Dominicans want to bet on Dominican Sports that they don't use the casinos, they use some other place. I asked a few workers in one casino and they didn't know about betting on American sports.
Most of the casinos don't have sports betting but you can go to any of the sports betting parlor, called bancas, there is a large one, just west of the Malecon Center called 5 star international, it has a restaurant/bar on site, and has about 25 televisions on site to watch different games. 5 star has an entrance both on the Malecon, and on Ave. Independencia, for your convenience. Good place to watch the NFL on Sundays or College on Saturdays.

The biggest rip is the cab drivers and prices to get from one area to another. RD $200 - $300 in those piece o shit cabs is a joke. $40 from the airport to Colonial Zone, non-negotiable.
If you are paying 200 - 300 rd you are paying too much, it should cost about 150 rd from one place to the next in Santo Domingo. Spanish of course helps, because the prices you qouted are definitely tourist's prices. You should always ask for the price before getting in the taxi, if there is a radio tell him to call his base for the price, because they will often try to charge you more if they think you are a gringo. If you don't get your price be prepared to walk away and talk to another taxi, often times before you get far they will realize you aren't a typical gringo and come down on their price.

Hmmm. thats interesting. I hooked up with a fellow monger during my recent trip to SDQ who was staying at the Hilton. He told me all they asked was for the girls ID and nothing more.
Me and my buddy stayed at the casa du wellington on Independencia. Nice little hotel for $45 per nite and 200 peso guest fee. Street girls right outside the hotel and good food places right next to it. Also girls house and more girls casas at walking distance.
Interesting, you guys are mentioning the Duque Wellington Hotel, as a monger spot. I had been informed by an expat that lived in Santo Domingo for awhile, when I inquired about that hotel that it was owned by a french gay guy and he mostly catered to a gay clientele, because of that I have steered some friends who have inquired away from it.
My inquiry is as follows: The information that I received was wrong, and therefore you guys recommend it as a monger friendly location? Yes or no?

Duque de Wellington is indeed chica friendly, however it is also chico friendly so if that bothers you, stay elsewhere. I would say 1/2 of the guests bat for the other team, and the other 1/2 of the guests are either mongers or budget minded travelers. It is in a great location, 5 minutes from Jaragua, Girls House, etc. It is a clean,budget option for a Gazcue hotel.

On Avenida Ortega y Gasset north of Avenida 27 de Febrero (while I was on my way to Casa Theresa and thereafter Casa Azul), I was told by a taxi driver those street walkers are transvestites. On Avenida St. de Paul I saw street walkers as I drove by, some looked like chicas, others I wasn't sure about.
In Santiago, on Calle de Sol near the monument and around the monument there were transvestites.
In Sosua, late at night, I can remember seeing what looked liked a transvestite trolling around the streets. You will also see a few transvestites in Classicos.
In Puerto Plata I can remember seeing dudes dressed as women in Mangu disco in Playa Dorada complex.

Next to Duque de Wellington is Hotel Navarro which is relatively new, it has 12 rooms on second level, 1500 to 1800 pesos, rooms were are clean (I saw one and has used on for short term on first level). National and international strippers from Foxys live there. I have made friendship with cuban bar girl which is cute.

I am heading back to the DR in a couple weeks for a lazy man's mongering trip.
This is my itinerary, I have a few questions:
I am flying into SDQ for my first time, meeting up with two of my favorita's that I met in PP but live in SDQ and taking them to Bavaro the next day by bus.
I am thinking I want a hotel for the one night that I am in SDQ near the airport so I don't have to pay the $40. Taxi fare into the center of the city but I am open to suggestions. We will be leaving the next day by bus to Bavaro, where is the bus terminal in relation to the airport? I read on a travel forum that there are two buses to Bavaro, one stops at every shithole on the way and the other is nonstop, anybody know which one is which? I don't mind bus rides but the less time on the bus the more time for "other things". Any suggestions in regards to hotel selection would be appreciated, I am only checking in one girl as the other is meeting up with us at the bus terminal, and if anyone can enlighten me on the bus situation I would be very grateful.

Bavaro is nice, many all inclusive hotels, all price ranges. Some good normal nightlife in Bavaro, some nightlife events are held on the beach, with tourists and some rich dominicans in attendance.

Supposedly about 5 kilometers from the airport. Maybe you can call that hotel and tell them you want to stay for one night and catch a bus to Bavaro, they might have more information about whether any buses stop near their hotel.
That is probably the closest normal hotel to the airport. There are some cabanas on the road to Boca Chica but I don't think you want to spend more than 4 hours in a cabana.
Taking a taxi into Boca Chica will probably cost 25 dollars or more.
Bavaro/Punta Cana is nice, good to see, some good normal nightlife at times, Bavaro some has nice beaches. If you just want to relax in an all inclusive with some chicas, Bayahibe is not bad for that. No nightlife in Bayahibe, nice beach, some good all inclusive hotels. All inclusive room rates in a good hotel in Bayahibe before January are about 115 per night for two people. Bayahibe is closer to Santo Domingo Airport then Bavaro/Punta Cana.

Jaosousa has said almost all, but with my limited knowledge of the city transportation system I believe you eventually have to move to the city to go to Bavaro. Expreso Bavaro goes directly to Bavaro and stops only on every hotel try to get the earliest trip which I am not sure it is at 9:00 am or 11:00 am. There is a bus scheduled every two hours. Cost was 300 pesos on July, it took me more than 4 hours to arrive to Bavaro. The other bus is on Parque Enriquillo, I believe this is the one with the stops. Both bus stations are west of river , see the map for location. You don't have to pay $40 for a taxi from airport, call Apolo taxi, they charge 1000 pesos or $28, I never paid more than 180 pesos for any intra city transfer, no matter how far the place was, no matter time of day, even with reasonable waiting time. I never waited more than 5minutes for any intra city transfer, they have units moving around the city 24/7 Stay at Jaguar or Riazor, you are not going to regret.

The Jaragua has the casino so it will give me something to do that night for a few hours other than bang my little spinner "companion" and at $75. it's not too outrageously priced.

I am no stranger to walking about in cities in Latin America but I am a lone wolf and stay out of the dicey areas at night,I'd rather take a taxi and have my health and sanity than have to deal with any shit but I also like walking around. ThanksIf you walk out the back entrance of the Jaragua, (through the parking lot and the security gate), directly across from the security gate is Manolos Restaurant. It has outdoor seating which is raised about three feet above the sidewalk, fresh fruit juices, cheeseburgers, chicken, pasta etc. It will be cheaper than the Champions Sport Bar inside the Jaragua (15-20 U.S. dollars for a cheeseburger with fries, after the 26% in taxes is factored in).
Drinks in the casino should be free if you are gambling. Otherwise to buy a small glass of Presidente beer at the corner bar in the casino bar is 250 pesos (almost 7 dollars) ridiculous. Live band every night in the corner bar, cute singers.
$75 is a good rate for the Jaragua (if the 26% in taxes is not included in that rate, the total price will go up by about 20 dollars).
Santo Domingo does not have many touristy areas where people walk around at night. Zona Colonial can be nice at night, but the later it gets, the streets in Zona Colonial get deserted. Near Atarazana in Zona Colonial are several restaurants with outdoor seating, which are romantic at night. The restaurants overlook a large open plaza (plaza espana?) with a view of the river.
One of best times to drive a car in Santo Domingo is later in the evening. Not much traffic and late night you are allowed to go through red lights (stop first if you have the red and make sure no other cars are coming on the other road). I have been told it is legal to proceed through a red light late at night.
Around the Jaragua is fairly safe to walk around. Walking on the Malecon between the Jaragua and the Melia and V Centannario hotels is safe at night.
Behind the Jaragua is Avenida Independencia which is busy during the day and at night it is a little dark with less traffic. Not many people walking around on Avenida Indepedencia late at night, you will see chicas looking for clients on Avenida Independencia at night. Some local guys hang around the rear entrance of the Jaragua and Avenida Independencia and will approach gringos offering to show where the chica bars are. Lapsus is close to the rear entrance of the Jaragua (across the street and to the left), one block down to the left and another left on a side street is La Parada.
If you exit the rear of the Jaragua and go right, after about a block or two, Avenida Pasteur crosses Independencia, make a right on Pasteur and girl's house and sky house are on the left hand side of Pasteur. You can also leave the front entrance of the Jaragua and take the Malecon to Avenida Pasteur, or the street where La Parada is.
I usually bring some dollar bills to tip the guys who will bring the luggage to the room.

ThanksYou can walk over to the Hotel Melia, less than a five minute walk from the Jaragua. Melia casino seems to be more popular than the Jaragua Casino, usually some attractive chicas in the Hotel Melia Casino and while you are there you can pop into Coppa Discoteca for a drink (which has an entrance from the casino, free to enter).

A taxi driver can act as a kind of Guide in Santo Domingo. Boricua Online has put together an excellent map using google maps, you can find the link for the map in the Reports of Distinction thread.
With the information on that map, you will probably be better informed than most so called guides. Post #1863 is the link for the map.
Other members have phone numbers of taxi drivers they used and can recommend.
Read Bijou's report, post number 2112, also in the Reports of Distinction thread. I believe Bijou also posted the phone number of a taxi driver that he used in one of his reports.
Most taxi fares in Santo Domingo are 150 pesos (a little over 4 dollars). A good taxi driver who waits for you when you visit venues will not try to grub free drinks from you. If you want the taxi driver to have a drink with while you visit different places, that is your choice, a good taxi driver will not try to get freebies from you.
Once you spend a few days in Santo Domingo you will begin to get a feel for the lay of the land there. If you stay at Riazor or Jaguar hotels you will be within walking distance of different places to score chicas. After you explore the city a little, you will see that you don't need a guide.
I have been to Santo Domingo several times in the last few years. I have learned that the Dominican people are always looking for an angle and should be trusted very carefully. On one of my trips , I meet a tour guide that spoke pretty good English (for the most part be careful with Dominicans that speak English). This guy was very friendly and helpful, I liked having a translator with me. We have become good friends and he has earned my trust. His name is Santo and he would be happy to be of service to anyone that is visiting Santo Domingo. He will stay with you for as long or short as you wish. He knows all the spots and always makes sure I am paying the right price not the Gringo price. Just call him a few days in advance and tell him that Chris gave you his number. Just speak slow and clear and he will understand you. I have recomended him before and everyone that has used him is happy they did. He stays with me all day and I give him $30. Santo is my friend so I take very good care of him, buy him beer and dinner sometimes. His number is [Telephone Number deleted by Admin].
I will be in Santo Dom. on Nov.19-23 who's in. You don't need a tour guide, but if you can find someone that you can trust, it is so much better to have one.

I arrived October 22 via AA, $199 round trip from San Juan of which $101 are taxes, mostly Dominican taxes. The flight arrived 30 minute earlier than scheduled which pleasantly surprised me a lot. I paid the $10 tourist card and my phone rang, it was Apollo taxi guy who was on his way to the airport. I called him from Puerto Rico 30 minutes before leaving and he picked me up as agreed by phone. Before pick up I had enough time to buy a phone card at airport pharmacy on second level, there is a vending machine where you can charge any phone, Claro, Viva, Orange, etc. with the desired amount. Drugstore also sells Cialis, Viagra, La Pela etc. Then I walked down to the exit where the taxi guys are. If you go out and walk to the right there is a bank where you can exchange dollars, the change was 35.45 at that time which was far better than the 32.25 exchange casa inside the airport was changing for every dollar. They have a large convenience store where you can buy drinks, groceries, etc. and a Pollos Victorina restaurant, a KFC like Dominican fast food.
We arrived to hotel Riazor, $58 with breakfast. The room was nice, carpeted floor, cold a/c, clean and large bathroom, closet, safe, cable TV and a queen bed. Balcony rooms which were unavailable at the time I checked in cost $2 more. Breakfast was poor, your choice of one kind of coffee, one glass of juice, and fruits or eggs. I used the ticket for my free coffee and juice and ordered toasts and ham or cheese from the regular menu. Breakfast is served at Manolos, a nice 24hr. restaurant next to Riazor also owned by the Riazor people. You can have room service from Manolos to Riazor 24/7. Riazor has a minibar on room, most items cost from $1 to $2 dollars so items are reasonably priced.

Many of the Domicanas are usually late. I have learned to tell them to meet me at some place at least on hour before when I know I will be there. And usually then, I am still usually there before them.

I have been to Santo Domingo several times in the last few years. I have learned that the Dominican people are always looking for an angle and should be trusted very carefully. On one of my trips , I meet a tour guide that spoke pretty good English (for the most part be careful with Dominicans that speak English). This guy was very friendly and helpful, I liked having a translator with me. We have become good friends and he has earned my trust. His name is Santo and he would be happy to be of service to anyone that is visiting Santo Domingo. He will stay with you for as long or short as you wish. He knows all the spots and always makes sure I am paying the right price not the Gringo price. Just call him a few days in advance and tell him that Chris gave you his number. Just speak slow and clear and he will understand you. I have recomended him before and everyone that has used him is happy they did. He stays with me all day and I give him $30. You can find girls in plaza independencia and in the paco's restaurant price is 1000 but bargaining you can get for even 500 but this girls are "not models" young but very used. on the outside part of the airport pic, you walk to the right and there is a bank that pays over 35 per dollar, good for a petty for initial expenses. My bank pays me 29 pesos per dollar if I use an atm so thats why I never use an atm in DR.

The photos on the website are accurate. I had the guy at the front desk show me one of the rooms. The room was very large and nice. You have to walk up two flights of steps to get to the rooms. I just felt lonely in the hotel. After dark there is nothing within walking distance to do. If you like to go out late at night you will need a taxi to go anywhere.
For the room rates it seems to be a good deal if you are not a night owl.

Drinks House is a hot spot on Avenida Venezuela for non pros.
El Hangar is another hot spot for non pros, a good place to met college girls, near O&M University.
There is a night club on Zona Oriental, Frontery Night Club that claims to have the hottest girls, massages etc, in an area of Los Tres Ojos. Anybody knows the place?I drove over to Avenida Venezuela last Friday afternoon. There is a group of at least 5 bars in a two block radius. The bars start about one block up from Las Americas. Somewhat close to the big white bridge (Bosch Bridge? from Las Americas highway). House Drink bar looks small compared to some of the other bars, it is located on a southwest corner of Ave. Venezuela. La Barrica bar about one or two blocks up from House Drink, looks like a big place. Reminded me of Kuka Macara bar near the Monument in Santiago (two story wooden building that looks like a saloon from the old west). I would have taken some photos but I forget to put the battery in the camera.
I have asked about Frontery Night Club, but no luck yet. El Hangar I will try to find. Maybe, I'll drive to La Vega tomorrow, some chica I met from my last trip has got my attention.
Lots of grinding and humping going on in Coppa Discoteca, very few luxury vehicles outside the Coppa, not like before. Coppa is good to go with a chica, it is not the easiest place to pick up a chica.
Avenida Venezuela looks like fun, if you don't like one bar, you have 4 or 5 other bars within a close proximity. I imagine parking in that area on a Friday or Saturday, might be a headache. Some of the side roads don't look the greatest.
I had one beer in Sky House tonight, the lineup was nothing special.

Noticed quite a few more SW Saturday night on Avenida Independencia. Walk on the south side of Independencia to check out the chicas or walk on the north side to pretty much avoid them.
Bon Helado (ice cream store) has opened up on Independencia across from Villar Hermanos restaurante.
In front of Navarro Restaurant and Duque de Wellington Hotel is a small stand which makes some very good sandwiches at night.

My favorite is still Hotel Jaguar. Owner Rafael is very knowledgable. Staff is always helpful. Rooms are comfortable and reasonably priced. About 2 blocks to the Jaragua casino or Melia casino/Coppa Disco or Lapsus? 10 minute walk to Girl's House or Sky Bar or La Parada. Street hookers are all along Independencia late at night. Lots of little colmados and restaurants in the neighborhood.

First I want to thank JauSousa for his responses to my questions leading up to my virgin trip to Santo Domingo. Also I would like to thank Boriquaonline for a most helpful map of Santo Domingo, muchas grasias.
This was my first trip to SDQ but certainly not my first trip to the DR. I have enjoyed quite a few trips to BB's, FOD, and Sosua over the last few years so I decided it was time to venture out to other areas. To the many guys like myself who've never gotten away from the PP/Sosua area, SDQ is loaded with available P4P action, loaded. I highly recommend to any monger who frequents the DR that has never been to SDQ to check it out, you won't be sorry.
As someone who travels to South America from the east coast USA on an almost monthly basis I am used to shit happening, I fully realize that when you travel as often as I do not every trip is going to be smooth sailing especially when traveling to the places we all go to for mongering but it is one thing for things to go wrong and it is another when people who get paid(albeit paid poorly) to help you out and they just don't give a fuck. This is why I will probably never, ever set foot in the DR again. The infrastructure in these third world countries is poor to say the least and that makes it very difficult for hotels and such to help a guy out when he has a problem but the difference between the country I travel to the most, Colombia, and the DR is for the most part a Colombian will go to his grave trying to help you even if he or she can't help you. In the DR they try to figure out how NOT to help you. I know this is a generalization and there are exceptions to every rule but I have made plenty of trips to both countries to make this observation. By all means I am not trying to suggest anyone change their outlook on the DR, I am just giving my own opinion and welcome the criticism that the stalwart DR mongers will rain on me, to each his own. Please though, to those mongers who've never been to South America and specifically Colombia, do yourself a favor and check it out because you don't know what you are missing, the girls are WAY hotter and the people are WAY, WAY nicer.
Well, now that I got that off my chest I am off to Bavaro for a few days and then on to my little paradise, Manizales Colombia.

great deal of info. I stayed at Duke of wellington and found it to be a good spot. Get a room in the first floor if you can. Jaguar sounds good too but I was not aware of it when I was there. I dont think you can book either online, so you can go there and check them out for yourself. Get a room for one night at either place and see how it goes.
As a follow up to Boricua online's trip report, I took some photos of the places he mentioned.
I drove around zona oriental monday night. I visited the mansion, it is behind lucerne supermarket which is on carretera mella. I was told the street name is lucerne. View the photos to see the house number and what the outside entrance looks like. Rooms on site. I was told 3000 pesos, it is open 24/7. Big inside, nice house.
I searched for the fontery or frontery club, I asked at least 20 different guys in zona oriental. I was told by several that there is a good casa de citas, chica house in zona oriental but I couldn't find it.
Some big ass waitresses in very skimpy bottoms in eagle sports bar, service there sucks. 4 clients in eagle sports when I visited monday night around 10pm, at least 5 waitresses. I sat at a table, they saw me, not one waitress came over to take my order. 4 waitresses were sitting on a wall chatting amongst themselves, I left after waiting a fair amount of time for a waitress. I guess the waitresses are there only for eye candy.
Drove by la barrica on avenida venezuela, a little before 1am, lots of people outside. One or two blocks down on ave. venezuala is house drink bar and across from house drink is cool bar, they were closed.
Some 23 year I met online visited me sunday morning. We chatted, she has nice thick lips. She stayed in the apartment for a few hours, no sex, she cleaned the dishes and prepared a papaya (lechosa) milk shake. We left Cha around 1am Sunday night, my car was parked on the Malecon, a taxi pulls up close to my car and 4 chicas get out, one of the chicas was really fine.
I drove over to Mint in the hotel napolitano, entrance is on a side street, they let me in even though I was wearing sandals. Nice new place, good a/c, clean, lots of space. Presidente cerveza was 140 or 150 pesos which is cheaper than coppa. Good music, mostly electronic, trance which I like. Danced with the chica, stayed there for three hours, some other chicas were there alone. Left Mint around 4am and went to coppa (this was Sunday night, which became Monday morning). Not many people around coppa 4am, they would not allow me enter to coppa because I was wearing 90 dollar black sandals on a Monday morning at 4am, when they had very few people in the place (I had visited coppa just about every night on this trip and dropped some coin in that place on drinks), I doubt I'll enter coppa again, when it is packed it is too hot, they let people in with grungy t shirts and they wouldn't allow me in because I had sandals which are mostly closed.
Went to the apartment, the chica said she wanted to go swimming nude in the pool, I put on a pair of shorts and she went in wearing her bra and panties, afterwards went into the steamroom. Yeah, like I said I called the guy every spanish swear word in the book and then gave him $30. That as**ole had NO chance of getting $3500 pesos out of me. For another 1000 pesos I could get a taxi all the way to Bavaro where I am now, we took the Bavaro Express bus as recommended and it took about 4 hours due to traffic but the bus was comfortable except for the preacher they let on board who stood and gave a solid 45 minute serman and then collected a few pesos, overall a decent bus ride, bus fare was 600 pesos for two people, dirt cheap. We head back to SDQ tomorrow.

I do this not just because of cost, but because of safety. I have read enough Brazil/Colombia taxi cab secuestro stories to know better.
Yes, the taxi stand set-up at the international airport in Bogota is 100x better than the set-up at SDQ. Nevertheless, when I am in the DR, I never feel the need to phone a friend with the cabbie's particulars (registration#, name, destination, license#) before taking a ride.

Visited a place called showgirls last night in Juan Dolio. I also visited caprichios which used to be ilusiones. Behind the bar in Caprichios was an old white guy. 4 chicas, two were cute. Day 1 – landed at SDQ, got rental car at Avis, no problem. $130 for a week, and to get to Puerto Plata/Costambar/Sosua and back, not to mention taxi to/fr airport, seems like a deal. Driving is no worse than other places I've been, Italy, Mexico, Peru, etc! Got $90 rate for Melia hotel at priceline.comincluding fees, knew it was not chica-friendly but enjoyed the top-notch accommodations and wasn't planning to bring chicas to my room on first day first visit. Had booked one night only, thinking I would check out the Riazor and other places recommended by board members. The Santo Domingo monger's map was indispensible, thanks!
Went out for a walk around 7pm, went into Girls House first. Interesting set-up, bar and couches and at least 20 chicas in there, 2 or 3 guys at most. I stayed at Penalba for one day 3 years ago. The room assigned to me was the most beautiful I have stayed in all DR. The room I stayed (I supoose all are similar) has a beautiful colonial architectural design, king bed very confortable ice cold a/c, it was perfect. the price was $60 at that time.

Decided to rent a car at Dollar rental at Ave. Independencia. Got quoted $55 a day (all coverage included) for the lowest model available at the time (Hunday Accent). Took a trip to Boca Chica sunday afternoon with the non pros I met the day before. Started getting Santa Marta flashbacks as there are plenty of beach vendors and propina hunters out there. Tried hard to get some action from these non pros, but they were playing hard to get. Was hoping to find some girls to accompany me and my wingman to Samana on monday, but that trip will have to wait for now.
Monday morning met up with Bqribs, cool dude with good advices, gave me a tour around the area. Then I did some shopping around El Conde and went back to the place formerly known as Pacos to drink an extremelly cold presidente.
At 3pm called Australia and she told me she had some girs available. Studied the BoricuaOnline map and drove thru rush hour as it rained hard, traffic almost came to a hault. After much headache finally made it. Map location needs some correction, as the pop up tells you to make a left at Seybo before making another left on Ramon Ramirez, however once you get to Ramon Ramirez you have to drive all the way back like 3 or 4 blocks anyways before you see number 125. Went in the house and got greeted by Australia. There were 2 fine ladies there but looked kinda young as previously posted. According to Australia, one girl was her own daughter and the other her niece. I got quoted $2000 total (1500 for girl 500 for lady), tried to bargain because BoricuaOnline got it for cheaper on his report, but the lady wouldn't break. Took both to my place and agreed to send them back by taxi. On the drive back saw many pretty college girls all around Ave. Maximo Gomez.
Girl#1 didnt deliver, was full of attitude and wouldnt even remove her bra during the deed. Every position hurt her in some way, she rushed my wingman to finish. When he got mad she begged him not to call Australia because she was going to get her ass beat if that happened. Meanwhile I was having fun with girl #2 in a very passionate GFE session. After first hour girl#1 knocks on my door, seems like she wants to leave and take my girl before the scheduled 2 hour agreement. I told my friend to endure the bitching and tame her while I get one more pop, but now I feel my girl seemed a little out of focus. Sent them their way with cab money and some tip, and then called Australia to let her know. She said my friend will have a discount next time he returns. The one to avoid is hard to miss, she has like 2 or 3 front teeth missing due to an accident, however she is very pretty and has a big juicy ass.

Other person then clarified that the 500+1000 price is for repeat guests. The agreement with my girl Ginnette was for 2 hours 1500 and 500 for Australia. She stayed with me almost 5 hours and did not want to leave. She did not ask for more money. We repeated the next day and again near 6 hours and she had to leave because it was 5 am and had a family beach tour.

The girl you had, Ginnete, wasn't there. However the second one, la chinita, was there and her name is Caterine. She looked around 5'7" or 5'8", very nice girl. I felt she would've stayed there as long as I wanted, but after the other girl knocked on my door and said some things into her ear, she kinda shut down and didn't even get wet like before. Still, I would repeat her without bringing the friend, of course.

I can't recommend a trip to Samana in the off-season; however, if you're just referring to the Samana Penisula, you "might" enjoy Las Terrenas, it's a bit like Cabarete.

Yes, you can make the left on "Calle Moca". Go one block and make another left. Slow down and look for Australias on the right side of the street. Her casa has large numbers "125" on the front. Australias, like any place in the DR, can be hit or miss. I have read mostly good reports.
I need to change my previous post. I bumped into JoeRomo Saturday night at the colmado across the street from Casana Dorado on Independencia.
Do a search for some of his previous posts. He seems to have a good set up for newbies in SD. He has a local who hangs out with him for translation and places to go.
If you are doing a first trip his approach may work for you.

I was meet at the airport by my friend Santo. He tells me that he has a girl that he would like me to meet. I was not to hot about the idea just because I like what I like, not what you like, but I said sure what can it hurt. She works until 3pm and will meet me after work. I was sitting at the colmado and this vision of beauty walks up and says Hello, to Santo. It turns out she is the sweetist women I have meet in quite some time just to go along with the fact she was beautiful. I stayed with her each day and night and loved every minute of it. I think I broke the code and fell in love. With Santo it makes it easy to talk with her. My Spanish is getting better with every trip but still very poor.
I ran into Bq Ribs, he was very nice to chat with. He really seems to know his stuff. Hey Bq, I went to that baseball game. It was so much fun. At times during the game I had to remind myself that it was not the 7th game of the World Series because the crowd was acting like it. In the bottom of the 2nd in a 2-2 tie game a player stole a base and I asked Santo if he just broke a record or something because the crowd was going nuts. Everyone was into every pitch. So much fun. And the game was at 5pm not 8pm. Thank you for the help. I like having Santo around for many reasons. I like having a translator with me, makes it easy to talk to girls. I also like to drink too much sometimes and he keeps me safe.

I used the ATM machine in the Hotel V Centannario casino. I usually chose 5000 pesos and was given 5, 1000 peso bills. I then went to the cashier at the casino and she gave me as many 100 peso bills as I wanted. Getting change for large bills can sometimes be a problem. The casino cashier had no problem giving me 100 peso bills.
El Caucho, Showgirls and Caprichios are brothels in Juan Dolio, they open around 6pm during the week. I was also told chicas are available in Chocolate bar in Plaza Chocolate, just down the street from Coral Costa Caribe hotel on the small beach road in Juan Dolio. The toll plaza going to Santiago now has EZ pass and the chica at the booth can also collect the toll. The toll plaza going to the airport in Santo Domingo still has the chica in the booth give you change, then you drive 5 feet and throw the coins in the basket.
Some chica who I met online took a taxi to visit me Sunday night around 11pm. I told her to meet me in front of the V Centannario hotel. Many of the taxis in sdq have heavy tinted windows. When I am meeting chicas who are arriving in taxis I have to wave at the taxi and hope the chica I know is inside. The chica who showed up Sunday night was sitting in the front seat with the window closed. Sometimes I will drink beers in the Hotel lobby bar at Embassy Suites in Juan Dolio, even when I am not a guest at the hotel. Air Conditioned bar. Most hotels you can enter and drink at their bars. Hotel Napolitano has a terrace bar on the second or third floor near the pool. You don't have to be a guest at the hotel to drink at their bars.

I was told that a person can only get a cedula (dominican identification card) when they reach the age of 18. I was told age of consent for sexual relations with a foreign guy is 18. For Dominican men the age is less.
Never stay at Discovery. My brother get robbed by hotel personnel, near $2,000 dollars. Hotel manager told my brother he is a liar. The incident was aired on national tv.Good to know, I'll never go into that hotel or their restaurant.
Has anyone stayed at hotel Penalba,looks like a decent place. I went there for lunch last week and the food was outstanding,pricey though.I never stayed there. Hotel Palacio on calle duarte just off el conde and about one block over from mercure hotel is very nice. The chicas usually like the hotel palacio, it has a small pool on the 4th floor.
There are two other smaller boutique type hotels in Zona Colonial, Coco Boutique hotel and Hotel Atarazana, these two hotels have from 4 to 8 rooms each. Prices for Palacio, Coco and Atarazana are about 100 per night for two people.

I didn't know you drink. LOL When I first met you I believe you were buying your second Jumbo and also had a bottle of red wine on your little plastic table. The chica your were with is that your favorite? She seemed like a nice person. A lot of guys may say you don't need a guide but I think Santos works out good for you. For the small fee it can make things a lot easier. You seem to have your program together in the DR. Maybe next time we can chat more if you can get your eyes off of that chica.

Drove over to the Acropolis Mall, Ave. Churchill north of Avenida 27 de Febrero, underground parking. Had drinks at Docks which has two parts that sit at the top of the stairs from the street. You can smoke in Docks. Had the baseball game on tv that joe roma went to, I can remember the score being 2-2.
Groups of chicas at tables, some couples, groups of guys. I got the phone number of some big chested dominicana. Lots of teenagers walking up and down the steps.
Then I met up with Koki at cats a-1 divas (maybe it has a different name). Small bar with about 4 chicas, curly haired blonde dominicana supposedly runs the place and will try to accommodate your requests for particular types of chicas, I was told. This bar has a curtained off side room with A/C, with a stripper pole where you can go with a chica for 500 pesos and the chica will dance for you. This bar is on the second floor of the plaza pictured in the photos. The door is next to the last door going west on the second floor. The plaza is located about 100 feet west of Avenida Lope de Vega on Avenida Mejia Ricart.
After this bar I met a friend who was in Praia bar which is also on Avenida Mejia Ricart on the other side of Ave. Lope de Vega, 500 pesos entrance, all light skin teen aged rich dominicans inside Praia, no presidente cerveza in Praia, only Brahma beer, which I don't like. I drank Vodka and Orange juice. I stayed at Praia waiting for a 23 year chica who was coming with a friend. As always the chica took over an hour to arrive, when she arrived Praia was closing.
There is another place one block south of Ave. Mejia Ricart and west of Ave. Lope de Vega, maybe called rumba, that place had a traffic jam outside of it.
We then drove over to Mint. Mint was packed Saturday night late. I stayed till after 4am, then went home alone. The 23 year old took a taxi over to the apartment to visit me at 4:30am, but I was sound asleep and never heard her phone calls.

From Santo Domingo take the highway toward the airport, but stay on the highway towards boca chica. After the gas station in boca chica, the highway is wide open. Great road to drive on. After about 10-15 minutes or so, you will see a sign saying BOULEVARD, you want to get off there. Boulevard, Juan Dolio. That will put you on the main road into Juan Dolio. You will see a sign for Guayacanes beach, just keep going straight. That main road in Juan Dolio is usually lit up good at night, they have many tall street lights. Three places with chicas are on that main road, very easy to find them. Showgirls has a bright sign, at night you can't miss it, it will be on the right. 150 feet further down on the right is El Caucho. Caprichios is at least a half mile after El Caucho on the right.
I am sure I can find it on google earth and send the images. Chocolate bar is on the beach road after coral costa all inclusive hotel. Showgirls has another entrance toward the beach road next to some outdoor seating area. Boricua online's cute chica from Santiago worked in el caucho, her name was yatna or something.
Always nice to see the chica do a nude dance before you pay to play with her. One light skin chica in showgirls, nice body, no stretch marks, you could tell she had no kids, everything was nice and smooth.

-L. S.Guaguas (smaller type buses or vans) are probably the cheapest, no more than 100 pesos (less than three dollars) from boca chica to santo domingo. When you are in Boca Chica, depending where you are in boca chica, you can ask a motoconcho "Quiero un guagua por santo domingo", quiero sounds like key aire oooo. From what I remember the guaguas congregate on the main road in boca chica not far from the gas station that is on the main highway, you can walk there as well, or pay the motoconcho no more than 25 pesos.
Some guaguas let off passengers on Avenida mexico just north of zona colonial, others let off passengers near park independencia, also near zona colonial. From there you can get a taxi to gbp, 10 minute or less taxi drive to gbp from there. Pay the taxi between 150 to 200 pesos. When returning to boca chica, do the opposite, tell the taxi driver you want a guagua to boca chica. Just be careful, some guaguas do not run all night to boca chica, you may want to ask when is the last guagua back to boca chica.
Taxi will cost 25 dollars or more between boca chica and santo domingo. Watch your pockets in the guaguas. You should have no problem taking a guagua.

If you're traveling to Santo Domingo from Boca Chica take the gua-gua. The most convenient location to grab a gua-gua in Boca Chica is in the city's main park across from the cathedral. There you will be driven to a local bus station, where you can transfer to an express bus to Santo Domingo. The entire gua-gua ride should cost you about RD$50 and take approximately 40 minutes. You can disembark near Ave. Duarte and Ave 27 de Febrero, which is near the markets after you cross the Ozama River. From there you can grab a taxi for a fee of about RD$200. Give the driver the cross streets of your destination and negotiate the price. To get back to Boca Chica, grab a taxi to the bus station near Enriquillo Park, which is near Ave. Duarte and just a few blocks south of Ave. 27 de Febrero, your original disembarkation. Then board a Boca Chica EXPRESS bus back home. The bus will take you back to the park in Boca Chica. If you intend to return to Boca Chica by gua-gua, I highly recommend that you return before sunset. Gua-guas stop running around 8pm.
If you intend to return to Boca Chica by taxi, it will cost you approximately US$30-US$40. By the way, the cost of a cheap hotel or an overnight stay in a cabana will cost you less. You can reach Apollo Taxi at (809) 537-0000.

This girl sounds similar to one who worked in Sutra before it closed down. They used to call her "Princesita" (Princess) when she came out stage. She was short, had dark hair, ample bussom, nice butt, no tattoos and about 22 to 25 years old.She was the hottest chica in sky house. Kind of a sour attitude though. I went into sky house on another night for a beer, the chicas did the lineup except for her, she continued to sit at the back of the bar and she couldn't care less.

Helpmann has the method - unless you want to pay $30-$40 each way by taxi, and it works very well. What you save on taxis in a single round trip will pay for 2 cute 18 year old chicas.
The bus you get in the parque central (the north side) takes you to the gua gua station on the main highway across from San Andres and doesn't cost anything - it's just a shuttle. You then get on the express bus for SD. You pay the cobrador after the bus takes off and it's useful to have a 50 peso note ready.
You can get express gua guas in the opposite direction to San Pedro and Romana up by the gas station at the entrance to BC from the main highway.
Surprisingly few tourists take these buses. It's very possible to meet interesting chicas on the bus. They're not uncomfortable, you get a nice tour and the cost is less than $2.

Big thanks to all for your suggestions.
I've been taking "gua-gua"-type buses almost daily for the first half of my life... I'd be lying if I said I didn't care about $70-80 round-trip taxi fare and all I wanted was "authentic Dominican experience," but I like taking local transportation when it's safe and as long as there are no chickens in the cages hanging above me (i'm don't mind if the cages are on the floor.) Ride on a "local" bus may even bring back memories from the childhood :)
Staying in a cabana overnight - yep, it shows who has real, on the ground experience and who (myself) doesn't. I thought about renting 1 night at Jaguar, the place where i stayed for 2 night in May. Cabanas are easier and cheaper solution. Again, thanks for the info! Beers are on me (Dec 5-12 in B.C. and a few nights in between in SDQ)

Last time I picked up some street walker on the Malecon near the Isla Gas Station, I thought about taking her to the hotel Navarro and renting a room for a short time, I believe Boricua Online said the price was maybe 800. I've been taking "gua-gua"-type buses almost daily for the first half of my life... I'd be lying if I said I didn't care about $70-80 round-trip taxi fare and all I wanted was "authentic Dominican experience," but I like taking local transportation when it's safe and as long as there are no chickens in the cages hanging above me (i'm don't mind if the cages are on the floor.) Ride on a "local" bus may even bring back memories from the childhood :)
Staying in a cabana overnight - yep, it shows who has real, on the ground experience and who (myself) doesn't. I thought about renting 1 night at Jaguar, the place where i stayed for 2 night in May. Cabanas are easier and cheaper solution. Again, thanks for the info! Beers are on me (Dec 5-12 in B.C. and a few nights in between in SDQ)

Short time on Navarro is 800 pesos, daily on second level is 1500 pesos, near $40. First level there are a room or two for short time and other rooms are reserved for Foxys strippers. Cuban bartender usually works there early pm, she also works on Foxys bar.

If you're traveling to Santo Domingo from Boca Chica take the gua-gua. The most convenient location to grab a gua-gua in Boca Chica is in the city's main park across from the cathedral. There you will be driven to a local bus station, where you can transfer to an express bus to Santo Domingo. The entire gua-gua ride should cost you about RD$50 and take approximately 40 minutes. You can disembark near Ave. Duarte and Ave 27 de Febrero, which is near the markets after you cross the Ozama River. From there you can grab a taxi for a fee of about RD$200. Give the driver the cross streets of your destination and negotiate the price. To get back to Boca Chica, grab a taxi to the bus station near Enriquillo Park, which is near Ave. Duarte and just a few blocks south of Ave. 27 de Febrero, your original disembarkation. Then board a Boca Chica EXPRESS bus back home. The bus will take you back to the park in Boca Chica. If you intend to return to Boca Chica by gua-gua, I highly recommend that you return before sunset. Gua-guas stop running around 8pm.
If you intend to return to Boca Chica by taxi, it will cost you approximately US$30-US$40. By the way, the cost of a cheap hotel or an overnight stay in a cabana will cost you less. You can reach Apollo Taxi at (809) 537-0000.

The carro publicos looked very crowded, six people in a two door 1980 toyota corolla, with no A/C, stuck in traffic on Avenida Kennedy.

I bought a refurbished digital camera on newegg.com for 40 dollars that I bartered for sex, the chica was a non-pro, good in the bed, nice thick body, plenty of cushion for the pushin.

Talking to some of the chicas on the cell can be like torture, with the noise in the background where they are. I saw advertisements in the sdq airport saying that you could use your orange or claro phones outside the Dominican Republic. I have been told Orange is more economical to use, but Claro may have better service. Some people use Viva. I was also told that that the phones with chips generally work better than the phones that don't have chips. And as Boricua Online mentioned the chicas are quite knowledgeable about cell phones, many chicas want a new apple iphone or some other expensive cell phone as a gift.

When heading East on the Boulevard in Juan Dolio, the small beach road will be towards your right. Two public beaches in Juan Dolio, Guayacanes has parking on the beach probably for a fee. The other beach is Juan Dolio beach, just follow the signs off the Boulevard. That beach has perpendicular parking adjacent to a bar and few other smaller bars and restaurants, in front of the beach. You will see Italians hanging out with their Dominican girlfriends, you will see some working girls looking around for clients as well. I didn't see any cabanas in Juan Dolio, so if you choose a street chica not sure where you would do the deed. Showgirls has rooms on site, probably caprichios and el caucho as well.
As you can see from the google images, the highway from boca chica (and santo domingo) veers north after the exit for BOULEVARD in Juan Dolio. You really don't don't want to miss that exit. After that exit for Juan Dolio, there are not too many exits on that highway for a while.
A chica in La Vega told me GPS works good in La Vega. I have never used GPS in Dominican Republic.

According to their charts the lowest fee (converted to minutes) is 5 cents per minute (before the 28% tax). Dominicans do not have the unlimited calls option even on yearly plans. If you are going to buy a DR cellphone, buy it from Orange, the reason: most girls have Orange cellphones and you can save a little on Orange to Orange calls. I used my Claro cellphone for a week on July and spent over $100 United States dollars on one week. Girls are going to "missed call you" everytime, expecting you to call back. This time (October) I spent near $20, I reduced my blah blah a lot.
There is movement in the DR against phone companies because the people consider they are paying as much as 400% more than US, based on a 2000 minute monthly use. The fact is that for us getting a phone is a convenience and a saving compared to hotel room phone or a call house, but for them rates are expensive.

I have always kept no more than $RD150 or so in my account with spare cards in my wallet. Juan Dolio is small, there is the main road also called Boulevard. From Santo Domingo take the highway toward the airport, but stay on the highway towards boca chica. After the gas station in boca chica, the highway is wide open. Great road to drive on. After about 10-15 minutes or so, you will see a sign saying BOULEVARD, you want to get off there. Boulevard, Juan Dolio. That will put you on the main road into Juan Dolio. You will see a sign for Guayacanes beach, just keep going straight. That main road in Juan Dolio is usually lit up good at night, they have many tall street lights. Three places with chicas are on that main road, very easy to find them. Showgirls has a bright sign, at night you can't miss it, it will be on the right. 150 feet further down on the right is El Caucho. Caprichios is at least a half mile after El Caucho on the right.
I am sure I can find it on google earth and send the images. Chocolate bar is on the beach road after coral costa all inclusive hotel. Showgirls has another entrance toward the beach road next to some outdoor seating area. Boricua online's cute chica from Santiago worked in el caucho, her name was yatna or something.
Always nice to see the chica do a nude dance before you pay to play with her. One light skin chica in showgirls, nice body, no stretch marks, you could tell she had no kids, everything was nice and smooth.

I was in Juan Dolio around 4pm and showgirls, el caucho and caprichios were closed. Some worker outside of el caucho told me there were chicas available in chocolate bar. I drove past chocolate bar, it is an open bar and I saw a few chicas hanging out in the bar, from my car they looked like nothing special, so I didn't go in.
Barcelo Talenquera all inclusive hotel is closed and barcelo removed their name. The Decameron hotel is closed (the Decameron casino is open). The two bigger all inclusive hotels now open in Juan Dolio are the Coral Costa Caribe and the Barcelo Capella (Embassy Suites has an all inclusive package and a place on the beach that guests can use with a shuttle bus they have). The Coral Costa Caribe has a bar (small disco) that is open at night, near the lobby and inside the bar with the pool tables, I walked in one night, even though I wasn't staying at the hotel, it was around 11pm, nothing great. I have stayed at both the Capella and the Costa Caribe in the past. They are O.K. if you get them for a good price. The Capella I paid about 120 per night for two people. One night I paid about 80 dollars for two people at the coral costa caribe.
I would go back to Showgirls and I want to visit El Caucho when it is open. From what I remember showgirls was just past the sign for the Playa Juan Dolio, where you make the right off the boulevard to go to carretera local (public beach with the perpendicular parking).

I had to use a pay phone to call my cell and then drive to carrefour to meet the chica to retrieve my cell. During the time the chica had my cell, she answered every call and told every other chica that she was my girlfriend. (I had just met that chica at coppa disco and never had sex with her). Now, sorry I have no minutes, I'll buy you an Orange or Claro card or I'll watch my cell like a hawk if they use it.

I finally registered after reading all the Caribbean Reports for the last couple of months. Currently traveling the Caribbean (On Company Buck". =)) This week I am Santo Domingo so I expect to check out some of the action, starting today. I did get my copy of the monger map. (thanks to Boricua Online. Perfecto!). At least every other week I am traveling the islands, Hopefully I will be able to contribute on reports from other islands. I am Looking forward to get some action suggestions and advice.

I notice over a month ago that DR1 copied our map.
About BQ idea I post on other regular forums and some have a "sticky" area. On this area the useful info is posted and mantained at the beggining of the forum. Instead of a reports of distinction thread I reccomend a sticky area where useful info as for example currency conversion, places of interest, maps are always found in the same place.

Your math is correct but I usually do not include the tax on calculation because phone companies gives you 20% free minutes plus other discounts depending on comsumption so the 10 peso you calculate is reduced to 7 or 8 pesos with the free minutes. This is 2 pesos over the 6 pesos you can get on a calling center but portability is going to save you time and money on other items . On flex plans yo get a peso per minute on weekends, plus a discount to a favorite phone. Hotel room phones charges as much as 25 pesos per minute.
Claro Control plan offers 1 peso calls on nights and weekends so considering taxes and discounts you get 33 minutes per dollar. if you do not redeem the "free" minutes then you get 28 pesos per dollar nights and weekends.
Anyway, phone service on DR is expensive, they do not have an unlimited plan option to customers.

Just back to the states from a short trip to DR. This was my second visit to the island so things were more familiar which makes DR an easier place to negotiate.
Me and a buddy stayed at Mystik. It has the obvious advantage of being close to a lot of action and the hotel is girl friendly. The a/c in my room worked great, hotel security and staff were all more than adequate during my stay. Breakfast was included in the price of $55 USD.
The main reason I decided to write this report was our side trip to Boca Chica. I had not been before, so after having spent several days in the city it was nice to finally get out and see more of the island. We used the same guy that picked us up at the airport. He had charged us $40usd to pick us up at the airport and take us directly to the Mystik. We felt like he overcharged us last trip and did the same again this time. He charged us $80usd to drive us from Mystik to Boca Chica and back. He did wait on us as well, we were at the beach for about 4 hours.
While at the beach we ate a a pizza joint, I have no idea the name, but the food was okay, we had a girl come offer us a massage while we were there, were several other girls that made it known they were available. This was on Sunday afternoon and the beach was pretty packed. We went for a walk on the beach afterwards and stopped at another place to have a presidente, while there a young girl that worked there propositioned us so the women were very aggressive. I have not seen so many young women with old men in my life.
We ended up meeting three girls while walking down the beach. One was not good at all but the other two were cute. My friend was chatting up the one girl in his broken spanglish while I was trying to communicate with the other one. Funny enough, she scribbled the number 1500 in the sand. They were from Santo Domingo as well, so they took the bus back and then a taxi to our hotel. Our guide hammered out the details in spanish.
The funniest part, they all three showed up and were sitting at the bar, I got my girl and my buddy got his leaving the big girl sitting at the bar. When I was done we went to my friends room only to find out one of our other friends took the big girl from the bar. The other two girls seemed shocked to find that she was not in the bar waiting for them.
I recommend DR for sure, I enjoyed this trip more than the first and look forward to going again.

i had a small car accident in santiago, hit the corner of my front bumper into the back of an old publico, a mid 80's corolla without functioning break lights. i didn't want any problems so kept driving. back in santo domingo, asked my taxi driver friend to take me to a body shop, they quoted me 1200 dp to scrape and repaint the corner. couldn't find any cheaper places, so then decided to get a report at casa del conductor and told them someone hit me while i was parked and i didn't see it happen. took the report to dollar rental and they decided not to charge me anything.
last night here while removing money from the atm machine i forgot to remove my card from the machine. my mind was somewhere else, i really hate atm machines that keep your card untill the transaction is complete. called the 1800 number to block the card and had my second bank card ready just in case. always have a back-up plan.
went to the supermarket and bought a bottle of siglo de oro for 1700 dp. very good rum made by brugal, limited edition as they don't make them anymore. comes in a nice navy blue box with gold letters, highly recommended for those who enjoy their rum.
after the ride back to the airport, the taxi driver had the balls to ask me for 1500 dp. this was a different driver than the one i normally used. next time i will call apollo taxi service, recommended earlier by boricua online.
don't know when i will return, but i can't see myself running out of options in this country. i felt safer here than in colombia and brazil. driving here is much easier than i imagined, only santo domingo during rush hour (3pm to 9pm) should always be avoided. i found dominican women to be less jealous than colombian women and very easy to talk to. if i could have changed something, i would have made my first trip a bit shorter than 17 days. i think i will return for one or two more trips in the near future, as there are places i want to see that i could not.

I paid nothing to get the report, they only asked for driver's license and rental contract. At the end an officer stamped the paperwork and it was done. The whole process in Casa del Conductor will take about 1 hour.
I later found out my insurance only covered damage above 12000 DP. I was relieved nothing else had happened while I was there.
I gave the car back the same day I arrived in SD, thus I spent my last night riding taxis. However, when I was staying in the apartment hotel one block behind there on Calle Canela, I paid some bum to sleep next to my car overnight and nothing ever happened to the car while there.

A little over a year ago I got sideswiped on the autopista coming from the airport. I went to the tiny police station on the autopista a few days later to get a police report. The report was type written on a very old manual typewritter. I know I paid too much but I think I gave the officer 300 pesos for the report as I did not want to have a problem with the rental company. The car had major damage and had to be towed back to the car rental. I presented the police report to the car rental company and paid nothing as I used the credit card CDW.
Quite awhile back I contacted MasterCard, not the issuing bank, and they emailed me a copy of the coverage they provide free of charge. I keep a copy with me when I travel and I also have the email saved in my document folder on my laptop.
Driving in the DR is not that bad but not the best. I try my best to avoid driving at night except in SD. The highways without street lamps are quite challenging at night. Santo Domingo rush hour traffic is terrible, terrible, terrible.

Now that is funny. I should have thought of that two years ago when I parked on the street overnight and woke up the next morning and all four hubcaps were missing.
I drove by the Isla Gas Station on the Malecon just past the Malecon Center last night. There were about a dozen chicas hanging on the corner. Quite a nice variety. Jaososua has mentioned this spot before and that is why I went to check it out. If in SD you can add this spot to your list. I believe Jaososua mentioned the chicas are un mil and up.

I have seen the girls for a few years but the amount increased after the closing of Elegant Center, Cisne, Remington Palace and increased more after the impact of the world economic crisis. There are girls on malecon and independecia and other areas.

Just got in from a nice slow walk and yes you will find a few chicas on the Malecon. I will try to get back to the Isla gas station on the Malecon again before I leave but I kid you not there was a very nice selection out there on a Tuesday night.
Independencia is pretty much the same. Chicas on just about every corner from the Jaragua Hotel/Casino to parque independencia. From the chit chat I get from the chicas most of them are out every night and only get two or three clients a week. 1000 pesos is the starting price and you should max out at 1500 pesos.
For you guys who will be in SD between now and the end of January Iguana Park is open on avenida luperon. Iguana Park is a temporary amusement park and a nice place to take a chica for a few hours. Admission is 600RD. Add the cost of a pizza and a bottle of Pepsi you can really have a nice time.

Many around the large Isla Gas Station which stretches to Avenida Independencia in front of the San Geronimo casino (some chicas stand on Ave. Independencia at that location) I have seen the National Police drive by and stop to talk with them at night. Two cute chicas offered me a happy hour for 1200 a piece in front of the Isla Gas station. There are chicas there till 4-5am.
Many street walkers on Ave Saint Vincent de Paul, many appear to be transvestites. The National Police have guys on many streets in Zona Oriental at night and they will tell you to pull over if you are driving, I saw them Ave. Charles de Gaul, st vincent de paul, mendoza, carretera mella.
Also pros on Avenida Sarasota in front of the hotel el embajador, a few blocks west of Avenida Churhill (which changes it name to Jimenez Moya in that area).

For the first trip I was given a room in the main building (tower section) on a high floor. I paid about about $120 per night for that room with no breakfast. My first day there, a chica who works in a hotel in Bavaro visited me. She was with me while I swam in the pool. After the pool (it was around 11am), I wanted to shower and change clothes. There was a guard at the entrance of the garden section with a printout with the names of all the guests staying in the garden section. When I checked in I didn't give the front desk any names of chicas. The guard would not allow the chica to enter my room. She had to wait outside, while I showered and changed my clothes (for sex with her, I had to drive the ten minutes on the malecon and then pay for a cabana). The next day I tried to bring in another chica early in the day and the guard stopped the chica from entering.
Strike2 will be arriving into Santo Domingo at 10:30pm, he probably will leave the airport around 11:30pm (waiting for luggage and car rental paperwork), if he drives into Santo Domingo, he'll probably enter the city around 12:30am. If he checks into the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel and Casino, the people at the front desk are familiar with many of the Pros that visit the casino, they probably see the chicas when they enter form that back entrance and have to walk through the lobby to get to the casino. Maybe Strike2 can be successful getting a Pro into the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel and Casino, but I would put the percentages at 80-20, that the Pro doesn't get in. Small bottle of local beer in the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel and Casino is about 7 dollars. Cheeseburger with french fries in the sports bar probably 20 dollars. (As an aside, the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel and Casino was built by a brutal dictator, Trujillo, who would powder his face to look more white ala sammy sosa).
I have read posts where guys have said the Melia and the V Centannario are difficult about allowing in chicas. I can understand the policy, some of the chicas are crazy thieves and if I was running a Hotel in Santo Domingo, I wouldn't want them in my hotel.
Boricua Online has stated that the Hotel Napolitano is chica friendly, cost is about 60-70 per night. Hotel Napolitano is on the Malecon, with a Casino and Discoteca that stays open late. Hotel Napolitano is an option for Strike2. Checkout time for many hotels is 12pm or 1pm. Entering a hotel at 1am and paying 80-100 dollars or more for 13 hours (with a hotel that may not allow in the chica of your choosing), kind of a waste. I have never stayed at the Navarro Hotel, but the location is good and parking in front might be useful in keeping the car from being broken into (added bonus, chicas from Foxy's live there). Maison Gatreux rooms are basic but for 40 dollars and chica friendly it was good enough for me, also close to the action.

I just returned from my second visit to Jarabacoa. Jarabacoa is a nice overnight or two night trip to get out of the city and into the mountains for awhile. The town of Jarabacoa is a very small town but you can find enough to do to keep busy for a day or two.
There are a couple of waterfalls you can visit either by foot or horseback, white water rafting, canyoning, horseback riding, mountain biking and more.
Your best hotel choices are Gran Jimenoa and Pinar Dorado.

Getting to Jarabacoa is very easy by car or Caribe Tours bus. If driving the exit is just past La Vega and the road is clearly marked to Jarabacoa. Driving time should be about two and a half hours.

Airport guys charge 40 dollars or 1440 pesos for an airport to city transfer. You can bargain down to 35 dollars. I got a guy from a leading taxi company who pick me up and transfered back to the airport for 750 pesos, less than 21 dollars. Very nice personality.
Inside the city it should cost from 150-200 pesos, ask the price before leaving or ask the driver to call their central for the rate of your entire trip. Be sure to explain the driver if your trip is going to include stops or waiting time. Some drivers are going to bill you for each stop as a complete transfer so if you, for example, go from Jaragua to Casa Teresa, wait 5 minute and took you to a cabana 5 minutes distant from Casa Teresa he is going to charge you 150 twice, he should charge 150 to 200 instead plus any waiting time premium you agree to pay. Some taxis do not add extra cost for short waiting time and or do not charge twice, there are a few decent ones.
Try to avoid taxis that serves major hotels which have inflated rates and are very expensive.
It is a convenience to have a local cellphone with a major taxi number on your list, Apolo has dozens of units around the city, your are going to wait less than 5 minutes 95% of time. Be sure to ask for cost of transfer before accepting.
I bought 250 pesos Claro cards and get 100 pesos free, a 40% minutes adition.

I learned a few things about Casa Australia on my recent trip. Australia asks you 500 pesos for each girl you take. you pay the chica 1500 pesos. The girl I chose told me that sometimes (maybe always) Australia takes and manage the money you pay to the chica. You can not generalize about the safety of a whole country especially in latin,central,or south america as the level of safety changes dramatically from street to street. That being said both the DR and CR are relatively safe during the daytime but don't get off the beaten path in either country. Nighttime is iffy everywhere nowadays.

Yes, the guy at the front desk of Riazor speaks English but I dont know if he can make an advance reservation. When I called he said rooms were available and asked me to show up and get the room. I dont think they get sold out enough to start making advance reservations. I personally did not like Riazor, there were families with kids staying there and you have to walk through the lobby to get to any room. Try other hotels on Independecia (there is a lot of info on this forum). The Hilton also I heard is chica friendly if you can find a good deal. You can lookup the number for Riazor online.

This is the single most overlooked point here in the country. If someone does not have ID (they call it cedula) steer clear. BoricuaOnline is right about missing birth certificates, but thats on really old people. Anyone 17-28 has no problem obtaining id. And most hospitals have the records. Copies of lost cedulas is quick and easy. Replacements even easier. They use biometrics (fingerprints). Have a great girl who said she lost it. Maison Gatreux is low key, you can probably just show up and rent a room. I have stayed there several times and the workers there were always very nice to me. Very basic rooms with safes. I had at least one chica sleep over, we entered around 5am and she slept like a bear hibernating, she woke up the next afternoon and no one at Maison Gatreux bothered me.
Many guys like the Jaguar hotel (not the Jaragua). I am sure BQ RIBS has their contact info. There are a number of chica friendly hotels in Santo Domingo, I doubt you will have a problem finding a room.

As a follow up to my prior post, there are a number of small hotels close by to the bigger three hotels on the malecon (Intercontinental V Centannario, Melia and Jaragua). The owner of Maison Gatreux runs a private security firm from the Maison Gatreux hotel, so there are usually a number of private guards around. The owner of Maison Gatreux I have been told is a colonel in the police. I have seen guards from his company outside the Conde De Penalba hotel in Zona Colonial. Masion Gatreux is about 400 feet from the Intercontinental V Centannario hotel (convenient to tell chicas to meet you in front of the V Centannario and then take them to Maison Gatreux) rooms are basic with digital safes.
I would imagine most small hotels in Santo Domingo would be chica friendly. Within 5 blocks of Maison Gatreux there are other smaller hotels. Another small hotel about half a block from Maison Gatreux is the Hotel Alcaldeza. Hotel Alcaldeza used to be a radio station, prices supposedly from 35-50 per night. About one block from Maison Gatreux are the Hotel Navarro and Hotel Duque Wellington. Many times I have rented rooms in Santo Domingo without making reservations before hand. I really doubt most of the hotels are fully booked.

I have been staying at Jaguar exclusively for a few years. You can call to make a reservation or better yet just show up and look at the rooms first. Jaguar, just like most hotels, are never booked to capacity. I would not worry about a reservation. Just show up with locations for a couple of hotels and pick the one you like.
I am in SD now and for a change of pace I am staying at Carey House Hotel. Carey House is chica friendly, $43 a night for a small room, A/C, frig, etc. Carey House is in a residencial area and a taxi is best at night.

I have been to Santo Domingo several times in the last few years. I have learned that the Dominican people are always looking for an angle and should be trusted very carefully. On one of my trips , I meet a tour guide that spoke pretty good English (for the most part be careful with Dominicans that speak English). This guy was very friendly and helpful, I liked having a translator with me. We have become good friends and he has earned my trust. His name is Santo and he would be happy to be of service to anyone that is visiting Santo Domingo. He will stay with you for as long or short as you wish. He knows all the spots and always makes sure I am paying the right price not the Gringo price. Just call him a few days in advance and tell him that Chris gave you his number. Just speak slow and clear and he will understand you. I have recomended him before and everyone that has used him is happy they did. He stays with me all day and I give him $30. The problem is are there any nice hotel with a pool that is girl friendly. Do any hotels not check for their ID or make you pay extra?? Either on malecon or colonial zona??

Maybe you should go to Sosua instead. All of the $50-60 hotels have pools, and most are girl friendly. The beaches are also better than near Santo Domingo.

The Hispanola Hotel and Casino has an olympic sized pool and if the girl is with you, she can use the pool too. It was girl friendly last time I was there, but that was a couple years ago.

I have been in both hotels.
Best pool in a chica friendly hotel, for me is the Hotel El Embajador, a 1950's era hotel where they filmed parts of the movie Scarface. The pool is deep and big, very good for swimming, usually empty. Lots of plants around the pool and a separate building near the pool with a sauna and steam room and gym. The hotel is on ave. sarasota off of churchill (jimenez moya) about 5 blocks from the malecon.
In zona colonial the hotel palacio is chica friendly and has a small pool on the 4th floor.
Hotel Napolitano on the malecon has a pool and is chica friendly.
Prices for these hotels range from 70-100 dollars per night.

Hotel Napolitano is probably the closest to the action. Hotel Palacio is 300 feet off el conde and about one block from hotel mercure.
