I have only seen the Policia Nacional pull over new, expensive vehicles. Taxi drivers have no money, the policia nacional will not waste their time on Taxis. That is one of the reasons of why I never drive in the DR, that can spoil a nice moment, also they drive like animals.

. My time is valuable and I don't go on vacation to be stopped on some busy dark street and be treated like a piece of shit, by some illiterate 20 year old Policia Nacional officer who is breaking my balls looking for a donation.

I cannot tolerate an arm of the Dominican government (policia nacional) being given free reign to hunt down tourists like me for the sole purpose of trying to extract money from me.The three worst things for me when renting are the PN, crazy drivers, and the final shake down when you return the rental.

If you use turn signals, both headlights work, car is not over crowded, no dents in the vehicle, these are all valid reasons to be pulled over.

A few times I handed over a few pesos and I was on my way. Lately I have decided to sit in my car and wait until the officer gets so frustrated with my non-Spanish speaking self he just tells me to drive off. If we continue to feed these suckers pesos they will never stop this BS. Maybe we should start posting on Trip Advisor or any other well read travel site of our experiences.

I will drive during the day but switch over to taxis at night for two reason. First, for the most part the streets are not well lit and second I prefer my brugal and presidente instead of driving.

Sure, if you only intend to stay in SD taxis will be fine. To get out and about you really need a car.

The PN can not write you a ticket so their reason for the pull over is bribe money, plain and simple.

Don't let this get you down bro, go bang a couple of chicas and things will be back as normal.

You promote the DR more than anyone here. You learn the language, respect the people and obey the laws. For this you are made to feel unwelcome. But Haiti, one of the most corrupt countries ever before the quake, welcomes visitors like yourself and fully appreciates the interest. Big bear is loved by all there.

I can tolerate the grime, the filth, the dirt of Santo Domingo. I can tolerate the chicas who say they will be at some location at a specified time and show up two hours late. I can tolerate the fact that Santo Domingo is not teeming with beautiful chicas (there are cute chicas there but there are also a lot of dogs). I can tolerate paying 26% in taxes for restaurants and hotels (prices that sometimes compare to New York City). I can tolerate the air pollution, the horrible traffic, the bad roads and the bad drivers.

Shame on you. Nice pics though, haha.

i have only seen the policia nacional pull over new, expensive vehicles. taxi drivers have no money, the policia nacional will not waste their time on taxis.

they will not pull over cars with broken headlights, or motorcycles with no lights, or guys driving old cars in the wrong direction on certain roads, or old cars that go through red lights. the policia nacional are not looking for criminals, they are looking for rich people to shake down. the gua gua drivers drive dented and scratched up vehicles because those drivers don't care about the rules of the road, the policia nacional never pull those drivers over.

the policia nacional will pull over guys like me, 50 year old white professionals who have money and are spending money in the dominican republic. somehow in their pea brains they believe that pissing off guys like me will somehow benefit their country.

i have been driving here in the states for over 25 years, i have been stopped twice by police in 25 years of driving here (one time for a broken brake light lamp, which was dismissed when i showed a receipt for a new lamp and one time 22 years ago for a speeding ticket).

compare that to the dominican republic, on my most recent trips in dom rep, i have spent about 20 days in santo domingo. in those 20 days in santo domingo i have been stopped by the policia nacional at least 10 times. i was breaking no laws. every single stop was an attempt by the policia nacional to extract money from me.

my time is valuable and i don't go on vacation to be stopped on some busy dark street and be treated like a piece of shit, by some illiterate 20 year old policia nacional officer who is breaking my balls looking for a donation.

i have encouraged other mongers to go to santo domingo. i have tried to be helpful. i will no longer recommend santo domingo. if a guy cannot rent a car and drive around santo domingo without being constantly harassed by rude, disrespectful, ignorant, threatening policia nacional, there is no point in going to santo domingo. there is nothing super special about santo domingo that outweighs the miserable conduct of the policia nacional. as i told some of the policia nacional who pulled me over, maybe they will be happy when no tourists visit santo domingo and therefore less money for the dominican government and the dominican people.jaosousa, you should accompany me on a trip to colombia, you'll probably never return to the dr.

i go to the dr for one reason and one reason only, the close proximity to where i live, new england.

i do not and will not rent a car in the dr because my spanish isn't fluent yet and if i were to get in an accident i would have a difficult time dealing with the police and other driver and the way they drive down there it is only a matter of time before it happens. you just gave me another reason not to rent a car. i also do not hit the ground running around non stop like you do. i do understand why you need to have a car from reading your reports and understand your frustration and disgust with the police,i only have one suggestion and it is not the best but i'll throw it out there and that is to take the money you spend on the rental and put it towards a driver, maybe hooking up with other mongers to split the cost.

the only other solution i would have would be to seriously take a look at someplace like medellin where you don't need a car to monger in the style you have. with your good command of spanish you would have a blast running around mayorista and el centro on foot all day and taking taxis at night(taxis are cheap in colombia) and cover more casas than you ever could in a car in the dr,besides, the girls are way hotter there than in the dr,you can find girls similar to boricuaonline's pics all day long, you'll spend your whole life trying to find them in the dr.

The three worst things for me when renting are the PN, crazy drivers, and the final shake down when you return the rental.

Don't let this get you down bro, go bang a couple of chicas and things will be back as normal. It is a good idea to post on trip advisor these types of experiences. I have a friend who is high up in the Policia Nacional, so all I have to do is call him. But it really should not be necessary. If a newbie goes to Santo Domingo and rents a car and doesn't know Spanish well, it will not be an enjoyable experience for him, being stopped by the policia nacional. And I don't want to have to call my friend at 3am because of some bogus traffic stop. And I don't want to give my money to some rude policia nacional.

I stopped driving in zona oriental at night because of the police stops. Now the Policia Nacional on motorcycles are going up and down the malecon and avenida independencia all night long, as well as in zona colonial. Now I can't avoid them at night.

On the North Coast and in Santiago, these stops by the policia nacional do not occur.

For a hassle free vacation don't go to Santo Domingo.

The last time I was stopped, they pulled me over outside the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel on Maximo Gomez. I know the guy was trying to provoke me. It was an older police officer with a younger police officer, I am sure the older guy was teaching the younger officer how to shake down drivers. The younger police officer was the one talking to me. I gave him the registration paperwork for the car, which shows that the car is owned by alamo. I don't believe the younger officer can read because he asked me at last three times if it was a rental car. They were trying to [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) me off and waste my time, asking me the same questions over and over.

I told them I have a friend in the policia nacional and they called me a liar. At that point I called my friend and put him on the phone with the older officer. The older officer knew my friend and after that the two policia nacional walked away.

So true. I've known since I first started going to LA 30 years ago that renting a car, IN MOST CASES, is more trouble than it is worth.

Sure there are advantages but, most of the time it's not necessary.

Why bother? Too much potential for trouble and complications.

I am very good at avoiding complications. No need to open the door for unnecessary, self induced stress.

BTW, great pics! All hot.

A few times I handed over a few pesos and I was on my way. Lately I have decided to sit in my car and wait until the officer gets so frustrated with my non-Spanish speaking self he just tells me to drive off. If we continue to feed these suckers pesos they will never stop this BS. You can easily get stopped 4-5 times per night by the police, giving 200 pesos at each police stops adds up to an extra 1000 pesos per night for police expenses. Add this expense to the over 100 hundred dollars in fees and taxes the Dominican Republic government adds to every airline ticket, then the 26% in taxes added to most hotel and restaurant bills, then the stealing of items from luggage at las americas airport, then some bars and restaurants will try to overcharge you on the bill, and the credit card fraud, drinks are not cheap in the nicer bars, asking prices by some chicas are over 100 dollars, enough is enough.

Add in that many DR chicas do not have a concept of time nor honesty.

I will return to the DR, but I have to be honest and give honest information for any newbies going to Santo Domingo.

That is one of the reasons of why I never drive in the DR, that can spoil a nice moment, also they drive like animals.I have been in some beat up taxis in Santo Domingo. Taxis where the windows didn't open, no air conditioning, missing the inside door panels, ripped up seats, rattling rust buckets.

If you use taxis in the Dominican Republic, you will probably have to have a Dominican cell phone, so that you can call for the taxi to come and pick you up if you are at a particular place. There will be a waiting time, for the taxi to arrive.

This past trip I paid 209 dollars for the rental car, with third party liability insurance and glass/tire insurance included in that price. I was given a brand new Nissan Tiida. I played my music from my compact discs, smoked in the car, the air conditioning worked perfect. I drove to San Pedro de Marcoris several times to visit my gf.

For exploring different parts of the island a rental car is good to have.

No, they are not that intellectual or community minded. They just want money for themselves so they can drive around and get laid by hot chicas. Inglorious basterds! That was a good movie by Torentino, lol. I found where the V Centenario Hipodromo is off las americas highway coming from the airport. The Dreams Massage place is located close to that horse racing track. Is it on the same street?

I usually agree with all that you post Jaosousa, but I have to dissagree with you. See the super special pics.Your Santiago chica (lisbeth) looks hot in the photo you posted. When I saw her in Casa Azul she was wearing something like a schmock. A one piece dress that chicas wear around the house when they are cleaning the house. It was a very loose fitting dress, that she had pulled over her breasts. She had no bra on, appeared to me she had mosquito bite sized breasts. All of her hair was trapped inside the hair net on the top of head, she had no make up on. She basically didn't move from her spot when abr mainline and I walked into the place and she didn't talk either. The braces on her teeth didn't add anything. I am almost sure her asking price would be over 2,500 pesos for 1 hour.

There are some hot chicas in Santo Domingo, they look even hotter after their hair has been done at the salon, and they are wearing either a victoria secret push up bra or a heavily padded bra, wearing some nice sexy clothes. You will see chicas like this sitting in bars at tables with $150 per bottles of vodka. Sometimes they will pull up to the bar in a 70 thousand dollar Porsche cayenne SUV. Their asking price? Who knows, but it will be well beyond what I am willing to pay.

More than likely you will see women like in the photo I have attached.

On my final day in the capital I drove to San Cristobal around 4pm to see a chica. I took the malecon going west. The malecon becomes an elevated roadway near where there are a group of around 10 cabanas. Soon after you pass the cabanas, there is a 30 peso toll. This road to San Cristobal is mostly one lane of traffic for both directions of vehicles. Lots of large trucks on this road, gua guas and other vehicles, it is not a scenic road. From the malecon and avenida pasteur to the monument in San Cristobal was about 35 minutes. I was told there is a faster road that you can take from Avenida 27 de Febrero to get to san cristobal.

I had met the San Cristobal chica twice before, but never had sex with her. Before this trip I chatted with her in msn messenger and she assured me that we would have sex when I saw her on this trip. I met her near the monument in San Cristobal. While waiting for her, I did see a couple of cute chicas walking around san cristobal. The chica arrived and got in my car and we drove back to sdq. She told me that she drives faster than me (she doesn't own a car) and basically complained that I was not driving crazy enough for her taste, by not passing other cars like a lunatic. I told her that it was my first time on that road and I did not come to the Dominican Republic to be buried in a cemetery.

We arrived back at the apartment where I was staying and she did not want to do anything. I said no problem. Boricua Online taught me the word bultera, but I didn't say it to her. She was a bultera, a person who says one thing and then does another thing. I basically ignored her in my apartment and went on my computer, she eventually got the hint and I walked her to the door. Adios chica y hasta nunca (see you never again).

The day before a chica who I know from online who lives in Haina visited me. This chica had shown me her tits before on her cam in msn and she had told me in messenger that she loves sex. She is 25 years old with no kids and goes to UASD. She was fun. No money was discussed. Within 5 minutes of entering the apartment we got down to business. No complaints with her. I gave her a 20 dollar name brand perfume that I had bought at Marshalls Department store here in New York and I gave her 800 pesos so that she could take a taxi back to UASD and get something to eat. Chicas like her are what is great about Santo Domingo. She let me take pictures, no problem. After her I was tranquilo (later that same night I was stopped by the policia).

My first night I stayed at Hilton Los Marlins Embassy Suites in Juan Dolio. I used coupon code welcome10 on orbitz and saved 10%. Price for one night for two people was 130 dollars, with a breakfast buffet included and a managers reception from 5:30-7:30pm, with drinks and snacks included in that rate. They offer an all you eat dinner buffet for 600 pesos (total price was around 750 pesos after taxes).

My first two days I drank presidente cervezas, but had I diarrhea afterward. I took some immodium and I stopped drinking many beers and I was fine. I had bought a bottle of vodka at duty free, but I never opened it and gave it away as a gift on my last day. I had maybe 2 beers after the first two days of my trip.

No, it did not, so over 100 a night.I believe one room at Hotel Palacio has a jacuzzi. Hotel Palacio prices start at about 80 dollars per night for one person. If you are only doing short time chicas, you could probably get away with paying the single occupancy rate. Hotel Palacio rates include the taxes. Hotel Palacio is in zona colonial and a 10-15 minute walk to gascue.

I recently stayed there for two nights. The apartment I sometimes use was occupied. I met the owner of Hotel Palacio, very nice older guy from Germany named George.

Hotel BQ and Hotel El Embajador are further away from gascue.

The PN must have really pissed you off this trip cause you always seemed the type to shrug crap off and keep pushing. I believe you set a record this trip for being pulled over. My record is three times in 8 days (twice in one day). First time pulled over I handed over 60 pesos and told him go buy a grande. Second time I acted extra stupid like all I know is Hola. Officer got pissed so off I went. Third time "no comprendo, no comprendo" and to confuse the officer and myself I would throw in a "no entiendo".

Once I pulled the "no comprendo" stuff with an AMET officer. Well he is trying to explain to me I ran a light. Honestly at first I did not understand him until he pointed to the traffic light and said "roja". Now I understand.....

So what do I do? I walk towards the traffic light with him. I stopped and pointed to the traffic light. I said "es no luz", which was about the best Spanish I could come up with for letting him know the light is broke! He shakes his head and waves his hand for me to leave.

It is not just you. I just happened to bump into this post on DominicanToday. This traffic stopping happens all over the DR.

Here is the post:
http://www.dominicantoday.com/dr/forum/living-in-the-dr/general-info/1414/What-is-AMETS-Purpose

(quote from DT)
What is AMET'S Purpose????
I like this country...really I do. But there is one aspect that drives me absolutely crazy and that is our men and women in green.....AMET.

Seems that they can only enforce one law at a time. One day it's motorcycle helmets...the next day stickers in the window...the next day...who knows what! Seems that you can get a ticket for no helmet on Monday and drive by an AMET officer on Tuesday...sans helmet...without even getting noticed by the same officer.

They turn a blind eye to the 10's of thousands of motorcycles driving without lights, driving through red lights, taxis with no doors and flapping sheet metal, squeegy kids and the likes pestering litereally all who are forced to stop....yet on any given day while driving through La Romana...iIget stopped and checked for papers....literally EVERYDAY...same spot....same cops....same BS. On Saturday....3 times at the same intersection!!! Why stop the car that obviosly has insurance...ownership and a drivers licence....all the while letting garbage roll down the road, held together by wire and string????

Want to save lives???? They won't by doing what they are doing!!!

What AMET refuses to see......

Overloaded vehicles....cars, trucks and motos
Bad tires
Insecure loads
No lights...front or back ( does not matter if driving in the day or night)
redlight running
Helmets

If the idea is to provide a controled and safe driving environment is the mandate of AMET...they are way off target. Harrassing newer cars and trucks at the intersection is not the way to do it...yet that seems to be the focus...at least in La Romana.

Until AMET takes steps to rid the road of unsafe vehicles and drivers, I have no support to offer them and feel that if the government would like to save a few dollars on wastage....simply eliminate AMET...as they do next to nothing to improve traffic flow and road safety.

Frist trip on autopista between POP ans STI, cop car pulled me over. One cop walked back, asked how I was doing, me and my partne are really thirsty. Here's 100P for a grande. Gracias, senor.
In 40-50 trips, I have only had problems with La Policia in SDQ. Like Jaosousa, I usually rent a car to run around the island but it is a pain with the traffic in SDQ. Last trip, I was stopped 3 different times, all by moto cops. One accused me of crossing a white line that didn't exist, another for running a red light when I was in the middle of a bunch of cars and the third didn't even pretend to have a reason. On the first two, I just argued with them and when they wouldn't give up, I said, OK let's go to the station. No, senor, I can help you here. You only have to pay half (or less) of the fine. If you continue to insist on going to the station, as I did, they will give up b/c there is nothing in it for them. Just more work. They always end it good naturedly with "Vaya con Dios."
Last guy pulled me over on the Kennedy up just past Los Alcarrizos. Had on a helmet with tinted face visor (which he never opened) and pulled up to my passenger window without getting off the bike. Gave him my license, he said I had to pay him a fine. I had a small car and my maleta was in the back seat which I think is what made me a target. How much? 40,000P I literally laughed in his face and he put his hand on his weapon. I got serious quickly and told him I only had 600P. He asked if I had more in my suitcase and I said no and we began arguing. The whole time, he was nervously checking the traffic coming up on us. Finally, I shoved 600P at him, he took it, threw my license in the car and took off the wrong way on the Kennedy to the exit. Broad daylight. A little bit scary.

There are rental counters inside the airport, just after you go through customs with your luggage. Depending on what time your flight lands, the counters inside the airport may or may not be open. If you arrive at an odd hour, either very late at night or very early in the morning, the car rental companies have additional counters inside of a building that sits in front of a parking lot outside the airport. When you exit the airport, cross the street and go towards your right to find that building. That building is also where you will return the car to and do the final paperwork when returning the car. Alamo is open 24 hours at the sdq airport and when I arrive at 5am in the morning I do the paperwork to receive the car at that outside building.

I haven't been stopped by AMET yet. I drove by an AMET officer in Sosua and he motioned for me to put on my seatbelt, which I then did.

In La Romana, I mostly drove around at night and never saw a Policia Nacional. Driving into La Romana one night from Bayahibe the drug police had a road block set up near the La Romana Airport, they were stopping and searching all cars, I stopped and they searched my car, they were pleasant, so I have no problems with them.

The article you posted, the guy is right, there is no legitimate law enforcement reason to be harassing people driving new cars that have all the proper paperwork and they let shit boxes stroll by. Emission controls on vehicles in Dom Rep would be a welcome sight. Some of those vehicles spew the foulest smoke. I am always appreciative when I drive here near where I live that the air is clean.

I have been in some beat up taxis in Santo Domingo.

There will be a waiting time, for the taxi to arrive.

.

I have a DR cellphone with Apollo taxi # on it. Apollo has dozens of taxi units at any time so waiting time is almost always less than five minutes. You can ask for a "confortable" which is a unit with a/c to avoid the use of a non a/c unit. Always ask for price when you call , an intercity ride should cost 150 pesos. See this modern taxi on picture.

That was a good movie by Torentino, lol. I found where the V Centenario Hipodromo is off las americas highway coming from the airport. The Dreams Massage place is located close to that horse racing track. Is it on the same street?

BoricuaOnline,

I will be in Santo Domingo this Monday Mar- 29th for a few days. This is my 3rd trip to the DR. Where are those places in the pictures? Are those bars? Restaurants? Clubs? Whereever that is, that is where I am going?

Hooters is on Plaza Acropolis, the disco is on Ave. Venezuela, an avenue with over a dozen places from discos, lounges and colmadones. See th Santo Domingo mongering map for places to go.

... A little bit scary.1. Why are you giving a Dominican police officer your drivers license? The only thing a Dominican police officer will ever handle of mine is a photocopy of my International drivers license.
2. Why are you asking a Dominican police officer how much? You're just inviting him to ask for something outrageous.
3. Why are you having a conversation with a Dominican police officer? These guys don't speak English!! Why help him hustle you by speaking Spanish?

What the hell is going on in Santo Domingo?!?!? I drive in Santo Domingo almost every night I'm on the South Coast and although I have been pulled over a few times, I have never ever given into bribes and I have never paid a fine.

For those who are proficient, fluent, or bilingual in Spanish, meeting women in the Dominican Republic, becomes a numbers game. One of the most efficient ways to meet a lot of Dominicanas is on social networking websites like Hi-5, Badoo, Orcut, Facebook, and MySpace. I prefer Hi-5, because I believe it has more Dominicana members than all existing social networking sites. Nevertheless, technology changes and one has to change with the times. Today Hi-5, but tomorrow Facebook, who knows. What you want is an opportunity to play the numbers, with the greatest amount of available Dominicanas.

The more "e-vites" you send out the more women you have in your "e-network." The more women you have in your "e-network" the more women you're chatting with on MSN Messenger. The more women you are chatting with on your MSN Messenger, the more women you are meeting in the Dominican Republic. The more women you are meeting in the Dominican Republic the more women you are fucking.

There will be those that recommend the use of sites like Dominican Cupid or Latin Cupid; however, I equate those sites to AdultFriendFinder or better yet, a trip to Sosua or Boca Chica. I like Boca Chica and I like Sosua, but if you are in either town 1) you are not playing the numbers and; 2) you are meeting a greater percentage of hookers and tigueres, much like the women you will meet on Dominican Cupid or Latin Cupid.

I have been chatting and meeting Dominicanas on social networking sites since 2004. I have met hookers, students, accountants, clerks, and a couple of Ms. Dominican Republic pageant contestants (before they were contestants). Nevertheless, at the end of the day it's about playing the numbers. Building a large network, then screening that network on the traits that you desire.

CREATING YOUR PROFILE:
1. Create a Hotmail account (i.e. tacogrande@hot****.com) to use on MSN Messenger and Hi-5
2. Create a Hi-5 account using your new Hotmail address
3. Activate your account
3. Personalize your Hi-5 account (first name, profile photo, country, DR trip photos)

SEARCHING FOR CHICAS:
1. Search by Country, City, Gender, Age (i.e. 22 - 28), profile photo (highly recommend that one search in the city that one will be staying in)
2. Browse through the 5,000+ profiles (to effectively screen these women follow the tips below)

Tips: a) Try to add 30-50 women a day over the course of a 1 - 2 weeks (you have to play the numbers)
b) Only add women who have a few photos of themselves (no time for fuglies)
c) Only add women who you find physically attractive (you have no time for just "ok")
d) Avoid adding women who have more than 500+ friends (they're too slick)
e) Avoid adding women who have less than 100 friends (they're too slow)
f) Avoid adding women who have foreign male friends (they're hookers)
g) Do not add lesbians (they're a waste of time)
h) Do not add women who are married are committed

CHATTING WITH CHICAS
1. Those women that accept your invitation should be contacted via PM
2. To save time, the PMs should be more like form letters [name of chica] [your email address for MSN Messenger chat]
3. Those women that accept your invitation to chat on MSN Messenger should be contacted via MSN Messenger

[i]Tips: a) Don't spend more than 5-10 minutes a day chatting with the same chica
b) Know when you will be in DR before you start chatting with a chica (preferably in less than 6-weeks)
c) Don't spend more than 6-weeks chatting a chica (you don't want a penpal for 6-months, you want a girl that you can bang in the next 2 - 6 weeks from first contact)
c) Be charming
e) Try to be sincere
f) A week before the trip, let her know of your possible romantic interests
g) Use the time to chat and see if there's a connection
h) Try to feel out how adventurous she is (nude photos or video)

MEETING THE CHICAS
1. Hopefully, before you arrive you should have 3-4 solid leads. If so, it should be no surprise to her that you don't have time to play games and that you're ready to be her boyfriend and spend the week together making love.
2. Have your #1 pick meet you at the airport and from there, leave for your hotel.
3. Upon arrival, while she's still off balance, go for the kiss and then the blowjob. If you feel that you can get more, than do so. If not, cum in her mouth, wash-up, then get drinks and dinner.
4. Now that you're thinking clearer and have some food in your stomach, you can now decide whether or not you want to spend more time with this girl.
5. If you're with your #1 pick and she could satisfy you with her mouth, then she should be a keeper. If she couldn't get the job done, then drive her home and call #2.

TIPS:
1. All online chicas should come to you. That's the most reliable screening process for getting laid in this country. I don't care how hot she is online. Any girl that won't meet you on your terms (whether that's meeting you at the airport, bus station, your hotel, or a cafe near your hotel) is usually full of shit! Within the first hour of meeting you, she should be on her knees blowing you. (Tigres find the best place to rest and observe and let the gazelles come to them)

2. You're facing an uphill battle to get a girl to come visit you in Boca Chica or Sosua; however, if you can, the girl knows exactly what's up!

Here is a pic of Dreams House:Is it on the same road as the horse racing track? I wish I knew about that other place that you and Buscemi mentioned earlier, the place with the pool near the ramp that goes toward the airport. I would have gotten off las americas highway on my way back from San Pedro de Marcoris to find that place. A guy I know who works at sky house on pasteur asked me if I had been to Ejecutivo. It is located on the service road for las americas near avenida charles de gaul.

Photo of a new chica casa that will open on Avenida Pasteur, it is located between girl's house and sky house. It is called something like Latin Dolls.

I stopped in bar 305 one night around 3:30am, the new place across from Villas Hernanos restaurant on avenida independencia. They have parking spaces for cars, you walk in and there is a big empty room, to the left, is a well stocked bar. I saw a youngish bald headed latino guy behind the bar and a 65 year old guy behind the bar. The cashier chica was cute. The female bartender not so cute. One thick chica sat next to me at the bar, nothing great. At first I didn't see any other chicas. Then some other guys walked in and about 4 chicas came out, all wearing black dresses. I didn't see anything to write home about, I really didn't study them hard, it was late.

For those who are proficient, fluent, or bilingual in Spanish, meeting women in the Dominican Republic, becomes a numbers game...

Classic.

Good to have a bunch of chicas lined up. Some of these chicas are great actresses and will promise everything while you chat with them online and then when you meet them in person, some act like monjas (sisters from the monastery). In MSN messenger, I right click over their msn name and then click edit, on the box that opens I click notes, that is where I put their phone number when they give it to me, along with sti or sdq or pop, depending what city where they live, along with their age and sometimes a few descriptors (cute, big tits etc). It can be difficult to keep track of who is who in msn messenger if you have a lot of contacts. I usually copy and paste their name, phone number, city abbreviation and descriptors into the subject line of email that I send to myself using yahoo email. Using the old yahoo email, I can copy the subject lines of 25 emails at one time and then paste it into a word document. With the word document listing all the names, phone numbers, city abbreviations, descriptors, I can click FIND in microsoft word, enter 4 numbers of a cell number, (when I receive a call from some unknown person) and I can see if that person is in my list.

I bought a 10.1 inch netbook for my last trip. An Acer Aspire for 300 dollars, has a built in webcam. 6-7 hour battery life. Nice thing about Acer laptops is that they come with a program called My Win Locker, which allows you to create a hidden password protected partition of any size you choose, on the laptop's hard drive. In that hidden password protected partition, I keep my list of chicas (I also have the list in my yahoo email, in case I ever lose my laptop or the laptop dies). I also keep the photos in that hidden partition, some Dominican chicas are like spies and if given the chance they will search your laptop for photos of other chicas, best to keep the photos hidden from them.

Only problem using the small netbook laptop was viewing boricua online's Santo Domingo map, with a slow internet connection it took a while for the map to load and then it was really small on the screen, while using google chrome. There must be some way I can get the toolbars and the borders to disappear in google chrome so that Boricua online's map will appear bigger on the small netbook screen.

A Dominican friend told me next week is Semana Santa (Easter) and that could be a reason why the Policia Nacional were ultra aggressive in making stops last week, that they could be looking for extra money for Easter. I don't know, it is plausible. I have read that around Christmas time the Policia Nacional are ultra aggressive trying to make extra money.

I saw some attractive female AMET officers, sometimes I try to flirt with them when I drive by, lol.

I have never seen a female Policia Nacional.

So what's in it for the chicas in your spreadsheet? My guess they are playing the numbers game also. Their victory is to play the numbers and find a few WU novios. I am positive they don't expect to run into a Helpman. LOL

It has always been said speaking Spanish is a big plus. For the most part it takes quite a bit of time to master the language unless you are highly motivated. I do know if you learn just enough spanish to get your point across and can read simple sentences it helps a lot. The chicas and Dominicans as a whole are more receptive when they see you are at least making an effort to learn their language. Trust me, it helps.

For the non-Spanish speaking guys, like myself, I found that most chicas are glad to introduce you to one of their friends. The chicas would rather you keep your cash in her little network. I had one chica bring her friend to my hotel. The friend wanted $RD1500 and the chica who brought her wanted no more than to sit in the chair and watch. Brothers, these chicas just as freaky as you and I. LOL

One afternoon a chica I know invited me to UASD, a large University located about 2-3 blocks behind the Hilton Hotel. I drove my car into the complex and was given a plastic laminated card that they give to all incoming motorists as way to deter car thieves, I returned the plastic card to the guy at the gate when I exited the University. I parked my car on the side of the road inside the University complex.

I was told most students have to take a physical education course. Some students choose tennis and I watched several students playing tennis. There appear to be no locker rooms close by, so the changing into the tennis clothes is done court side.

They have a baseball field, a soccer field and some basketball courts. If you want to play basketball, I am sure you could probably join into one of the impromptu games that were going on. If you know a student who plays tennis I am sure you could play tennis there. I saw chicas on the soccer field.

I saw some cute chicas walking around and I got some looks. UASD seems to be a nice refuge for some of these students, a place where they can relax by sitting under a tree in the grass.

There is a stadium there and there is small store to buy drinks and snacks where the small stadium is located, I believe 10 pesos for a small bottle of water and 30 pesos for a small bottle of coca-cola.

As I was walking around UASD, I thought to myself, if I was a professor there, the fun I could have.

UTESA and APEC are two other more expensive universities on Maximo Gomez, they appear to be much smaller in size than UASD. I thought to myself after I was stopped by the Policia Nacional on Maximo Gomez, that maybe the Policia Nacional have a special mandate to protect the area around those two more expensive universities. Maybe some politicians' daughters go to school there and they want their daughters protected, I don't know for sure, but could be a possibility. I can remember seeing a chain email in hotmail from some Dominican chica. That email had the photo of some white Italian guy in a car and the email said beware of that guy as supposedly he had kidnapped several Dominican chicas. I don't look like the Italian guy, but that email was going through my mind when I was stopped by one policia nacional, after I asked directions from one person on Maximo Gomez.

If I just needed a quickie for cash, I drive up the street to my friend's house to get an introduction to something good and fresh in Boca Chica. Nevertheless, the girls one should seek to meet on social networking sites, don't take or ask for cash. If anything, these girls would be either offended or confused if the subject came up. Just dinner, a movie, and a blowjob.

I arrived into Santo Domingo on a Saturday morning. I did the paperwork for the rental car and I told the guy I needed to buy some stuff inside the airport, my luggage was inside the car and I parked the car in an empty spot in the rental car parking lot. I took out my samsung claro cell phone that I had last used over two months ago and I tried to make a call. I got a message that my service was suspended (service is suspended after 60 days).

I walked back to the airport and went to the second floor and entered the pharmacy that is near the escalators. I asked the lady inside for a 100 peso Claro card and one cialis. On a prior trip I had paid about 680 pesos for two cialis at the pharmacy located at the corner of pasteur and independencia. I asked the price for one cialis inside the airport and was told 500 pesos. I bought the one cialis and the 100 peso claro card. Dialed 1133 and entered the code from the back of the card and I was able to make calls. My gf later checked how many minutes I had on the cell and I had 800 pesos in minutes. They had suspended my service after 60 days of non usage but they didn't delete the minutes that I had on the phone. I was happy.

I drove to San Pedro de Marcoris to the house of my GF. She lives with her mother, with no men in the house. I repaired a few things in the house for her. She has a scooter. I asked her when was the last time she changed the oil, she told me never, she has had the scooter for over a year. San Pedro de Marcoris does not get a lot of rain therefore dusty roads. I told her you have to change the oil, the air filter, oil filter, gas filter and the scooter will get better mileage and run better. She won't do it. I have never worked on a scooter before so I know nothing about opening them up and changing stuff like that on a scooter, otherwise I would do it.

Interesting how some of the homes are constructed, cement block, with pieces of wood about 2x4 serving as roof rafters, about 5 feet on center, with corrugated pieces of tin making up the roof. The electric wiring, don't ask. No screens on the windows. If I lived there I would probably cut out some pieces of the metal roof and install some clear plastic hurricane type panels to let in natural light. I would install a solar powered roof vent to suck out some of the hot air. Humble house, but they keep it super clean.

The gf and I drove over to the hilton embassy suites in juan dolio. Juan Dolio to San Pedro de Marcoris is about 10 minutes. I have stayed at the Howard Johnson Hotel Marcorix on the malecon in san pedro de marcoris, that hotel was about 40 dollars per night. It reminded me of some housing projects, I have been to in the Bronx and Brooklyn. Scratched up elevator doors with some graffiti type markings. I stayed about 6 hours and checked out. There is a nice hotel next to Jumbo in San Pedro de Marcoris, modern and clean for about 45 per night.

Embassy Suites in Juan Dolio is nice and tranquil. I drove over to the banco popular in Juan Dolio and withdrew some money from the ATM, after that transaction, no other banco popular ATM machines would give me cash. I kept receiving a message "unauthorized transaction". I used banco leon and banreservas ATM machines and they gave me cash no problem.

Some chica was getting married at Embassy Suites so there were a few cute chicas who showed up for the wedding. Seems many airlines use Embassy Suites to house their employees, I saw several pilots in uniform and other airline personnel in Embassy Suites. I checked in with the gf and when I arrived back at night with her into the hotel, there was a different person at the front desk and they didn't ask anything. Potentially could be chica friendly if you are discreet and don't have a parade of different chicas coming and going.

I saw a couple of chicas on the highway right past the traffic light where you make the right to go into boca chica, I was heading in the direction of Juan Dolio, a few of those chicas tried to waive me down, to get a free ride. I had my laptop in the car so I didn't stop. I saw one tractor trailer truck stop, but it seems the chicas weren't rushing to get into his truck.

After the main bridge into San Pedro de Marcoris, I did see a few street walkers late one night.

Embassy suite rooms are nice, they have a separate living room with two small sofas (one of which I believe folds out into a bed) with a tv. Microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. The bedroom has high ceilings with another tv. Air conditioning worked good.

There is a drought going on now in parts of the Dom Rep. It didn't rain the time I was there. Hot and sunny.

I stopped off at El Caucho one night around 7pm, in Juan Dolio, it was closed, I have not been in that place when it was open. Driving on the main highway to the airport, I did see the VIP club (that sits on the main highway in Juan Dolio) finally open. It was the first time I saw that place open. I had a flight to catch so I didn't stop.

I took the 1:46 am flight out of sdq to jfk on jetblue. I got to the airport about two hours before departure. The line to check in at jetblue was super long, I waited about 90 minutes in line to check in.

Recently, I have had similar experiences with Banco Popular ATMs. Last month and also in November, I received the "unauthorized transaction" message at Banco Popular ATMs in Boca Chica and Playa Dorado. In February, a RD$10,000 transaction went through without giving me cash, so I had to call my bank to "reverse" the debit.

Although, I have used the Banco Popular ATM in Boca Chica for years, I am going to avoid using Banco Popular ATMs in "tourist cities/locations."

-Helpmann :)I agree. I tried three different Banco Popular ATM machines (In the V Centenario Hotel and others in San Pedro de Marcoris) and no cash was given to me. I tried two different ATM cards using different bank accounts. On one card it kept saying "Unauthorized Transaction" on the other ATM card it would say something like "Wrong Account type". I could check my balances, so the machines were communicating with my bank. I also tried to use my credit card at the Banco Poular ATM and no cash.

So far my accounts don't show any withdrawals where I did not receive any money, but I will continue to look at my accounts.

Not defending Banco Popular because I think they suck too but "unauthorized transaction" a lot of times just means the machine is out of money,a common problem with ATM's in the DR.But usually when an ATM has no cash, it will flash a message saying something like "This ATM is temporarily unable to dispense cash." The Banco Popular ATM machines I used recently processed the transaction till the end and then the messages "unauthorized usage" or "wrong account". Something strange going on with the Banco Popular ATM machines in Dom Rep.

I had to report to my US bank and they always refunded the lost money and never questioned it. I started to use ATMs at supermarkets and never had the problem again. Seems a bit of a coincidence like tourists were the target.

What does she look like? (Is she from Santiago?) Casa Theresa seems way overpriced to me. 480 pesos for a chica drink (Alize) is highway robbery. I paid because the chica was fine and she was stroking my dick. I wouldn't rush to go back to casa theresa.

The small male bartender at casa azul is pleasant, he told me the owner (a former mexican wrestler) has bad health now. Casa azul is low key, safe parking inside the gate. The chicas are usually pleasant there.

The Santiago chica who sat with me at casa theresa, I could tell was all about the money, she was fine, but I knew I wouldn't pay her asking price, so I didn't bother to ask what her price was.Yes she was from Santiago, cute, reasonabley endowed and natural. I went with her a few times, and had a nice time but she always hustling for gifts, and money for herself, friends and family. Probably the most sick person I know based on the requests for money to go to the doctor. Have to concur with previous advice to move on when or before you start to like someone and the extra offers become available. Must never forget these are experienced professionals who recognize a sucker when they see one.

I bought one Santiago chica a drink in casa theresa, she followed me to the bathroom (to keep me from chatting with other chicas), then she asked me to buy her dinner. (tengo hambre= I am hungry) Some of those chicas have a good appetite, they can eat, most are always hungry for food when I meet them.

Quickest food for me to buy are those fried things (some are empanadas) that they sell inside Villas Hernanos restaurant (on pasteur and ave. independencia), I get them to go and eat them back at the room. The chicas usually like the salads at Villas Hernanos, prices are reasonable.

I had a Punta Cana newbie ask me why did his novia have 3 cell phones and 8+ male cousins hanging around all the time. WTF do you say? He told me he met her online and her profile stated she 22 & loyal, trustworthy, and faithful.

I ask the 50+ yr. Old fat fucker if he believed everything he reads. I told him not to be pulling out the dinero. Only his dick. The test of love is when you tell the chica you have no dinero.

Colon is the name for Columbus. The Faro de Colon (Columbus lighthouse, faro is the word for lighthouse) is a large building shaped like a cross. It sits on the other side of the river from the central part of Santo Domingo, with no traffic it is less than a 10 minute drive from Zona Colonial. Surrounding the Faro de Colon is a park, the times I have been there, it is a very quiet place.

I usually prefer the chicas take a taxi or gua gua or carro publico to meet me. Sometimes to avoid protracted waiting times for me, I will drive to where they live or near where they live. This past trip a chica I know said she lived near the Faro de Colon. I was checking out of the Hotel Palacio that day around 1pm, so I offered to drive over to the Faro de Colon and meet her there (this chica on the previous day had kept me waiting at the Hard Rock Cafe for about an hour when she arrived late). I called and told her I would be in front of the Faro de Colon in 5 minutes. Of course she wasn't there waiting. I called several times to her cell and no answer (that is another thing that sometimes annoys me in DR, a chica who is late will oftentimes not answer her cell). Eventually she answered her cell and asked me to meet her outside some billiards place near Faro de Colon. One good thing about playing "Mr. Taxi" is that I do get to know the roads and the neighborhoods.

If is the time around rush hour in Santo Domingo, 99.99% of the time, I will not drive.

Will be traveling around Dominican Republic for a few weeks later this month (April). Was hoping to fill up some of my free time with preferably private Spanish classes. Any recommendations? Prices etc I already speak pretty decent Spanish, but want to improve it, so any professional local should suffice.

Also, are there gyms to work out in Santo Domingo where I can get a short term membership?

Thanks

ThanksMost of the bigger hotels have gyms. There is a sports complex near Plaza de Salud on Avenida Ortega y Gasset. There is a building on el conde in zona colonial, on the block before hotel de penalba, on the second floor of that building they had signs offering instruction for different things.

If you know where you will be staying, I would suggest finding a gym and a language instruction place close to where you will be be living so that you don't have to commute too far.

I found the map from doing a search for Gold"s Gym, Santo Domingo in google.

It is a good map. I learned a few things such as: "Hotel Atrium Santo Domingo, New place that has opened (as of January 28, 2010). Only has 7 rooms and the prices are RD$1,200 pesos per night. Very small rooms, but clean and cheap" Appears this Hotel is located in Zona Colonial.

Also: "Presidente Beer, At this location you can buy Presidente beer (and all other products they sell) by the case at a discount." Avenida Independencia near calle proyecto, Jetset bar is located near there.

Also: "Supermercado Dragon de Oro, This is the only supermarket (that I know of) that stays open 24-hours in Santo Domingo. Because it stays open 24 hours the prices tend to be a little higher." Avenida Romulo Betancourt #1351, Santo Domingo, (809) 533-5937.

Overall a good map. He doesn't have the chica places as does Boricua's Online SDQ google map, but he does list hotels, eating places and other points of interest.

Thanks, you learn something new everyday. Cine Lido, a porn movie theater in SD? Only problem is this a gay movie theater? Jaosousa when you get a chance go check the place out please.LOL. You got it BQ Ribs. Some of those gay guys have some beautiful female friends. The night I went to Cha with a 21 year old bisexual chica, I saw some cute chicas arriving at that gay club.

Maybe you can visit bar Click for me, a lesbian bar in SDQ. Bar Click looks like it is adjacent to Bar Atarazana in Zona Colonial. I never knew it was a lesbian bar. One afternoon I was drinking beer at the outdoor part of Hard Rock cafe and I met some 40 year old Dominican woman who lives in the United States, she was in Santo Domingo for a family reunion. Her nephew a 25 year old guy came to pick her up from the Hard Rock Cafe, that guy said he was one of the owners of the bar next door to Bar Atarazana, which I believe is the lesbian bar Click.

I learned from that map, that Park Duarte in Zona Colonial is indeed a gay hangout. I drove by that park one night and I saw 90% guys, seemed like a gay hangout and the map confirmed it.

Camilo House Apartments, http://www.camilohouse.com/index.html rooms have kitchenettes, prices around 65 US Dollars per night, taxes included. Guest friendly.

Foreigners Club Hotel, http://www.foreignersclubhotel.com/index.htm rates from 40 US Dollars per night, guest friendly.

Appears both of these hotels may be owned by Americans.

My only concern about staying in Zona Colonial is if you have car. Parking your car in the street overnight in Zona Colonial, your car could be stolen or broken into. Hotel Palacio in Zona Colonial has an indoor parking garage. If you don't have a car, then zona colonial can be a good place to stay. Most streets are quiet for walking in Zona Colonial. Also many shops, bars and places to at eat in Zona Colonial.

never park on the street overnight anywhere in sd. i won't mention the hotel name but their limited parking was full one night so i parked on the street directly across from the hotel. i came out in the morning and all four hubcaps were gone. a security guard sits in the hotel lobby all night but i guess he is a hard sleeper. needless to say i never stayed at that hotel again.

when i returned the rental i explained what happened. since the hubcaps were stolen i would have to pay but i was told if i said the hubcaps fell off driving down the highway there would be no charge.............. so i changed my story to the hubcaps fell off while driving 5kph below the speed limit on the autopista.

since then i have noticed the hubcaps are now secured with a plastic police handcuff. just a matter of time before the hubcap bandits start carrying scissors with them..........

Just a matter of time before the hubcap bandits start carrying scissors with them..........I noticed that too, plastic ties attaching the hubcaps to the rims. I look at the tires when I receive the rental. Last time the car was new and had new Bridgestone tires. Appears that when they need to replace tires, oftentimes they use no name brand Chinese tires. I will adjust my driving, according to what tires I see on the car.

Jaosousa have you stayed at either Camilo Apts or ForeignersClubHotel, and how come they are not on the monger map?Hotel Venezia might be a good option. Bq Ribs has stayed there, hotel venezia has secure parking, it is on Avenida Independencia, close to the chicas in gascue (ave. pasteur, girls house, sky house, bar 305, street walkers on ave independencia, etc.) and close to zona colonial. You can easily walk to Avenida Pasteur and you can walk to zona colonial from Hotel Venezia. Price seems decent. It would be easy to find if you drive your own car or if you take taxis. Driving in Zona Colonial can be confusing, until you know the roads there.

When a person doesn't have a great command of Spanish, generally that person should want a hotel that is easy to find. Cab drivers in sdq don't know the locations of all the smaller hotels. If you were to stay in hotel venezia and take a taxi, if the cab driver didn't know hotel venezia, at least you could tell him pasteur y independencia and walk from there or tell him "mas" (more) to keep him going straight on Avenida Independencia until he got to hotel venezia). Hotel Venezia is 3-4 blocks east of avenida pasteur on avenida independencia.

Looking into places to stay for my next trip,4/24-4/28 in SD.

Jaosousa have you stayed at either Camilo Apts or ForeignersClubHotel, and how come they are not on the monger map? From the photos on their webpages both of these hotels look good, decent. I would consider staying at either one of of them (security of my rental car would be a major concern for me). If you do decide to stay in a smaller hotel in Zona Colonial, ask for some business cards of the hotel where you are staying. You can ask the person at the front desk to write the cross streets on the back of their business card in large letters, or you can write the names of the streets yourself. If you are at some other venue far from the hotel, you can show a taxi driver the Hotel's business card with the back of the card having the cross streets in large letter for easy reading.

My only concern with Hotel Venezia is that they may try to charge an extra fee for guests. Hotel Venezia is on Ave. Independencia. Ave Independencia at that location has a lot of traffic during the day. If you are drunk one night and bring home an ugly chica, when you exit Hotel Venezia during the day, lots of people will be able to see you with that chica.

Some guys like hotel mystik on Avenida pasteur, next door to Girl's house, about 55 per night. I have stayed at Maison Gatreux before, it is one block east of pasteur and about 500 feet from the malecon, price 40-45 per night.

Zona Colonial is better in the daytime for hanging out than Gascue. At night Gascue has more chicas.

Where to stay depends whether you rent a car or not. Also depends how you want to spend your days and nights. You know Pacos on El Conde in the beginning part of Zona Colonial. You stayed at Jaguar which is in Gascue and you walked around Gascue. If you enjoyed your time at Pacos, then you may want to stay in Zona Colonial and you can take taxis at night to find chicas.

Hotel/ForeignersClubHotel are both American owned, called them both camilo is soldout 4/24-4/28 only has 5 rooms,so I made reservations at foreigners, they even said they would pick me up at airport($35), room rate $50 a night. One block from this hotel is the place that sells roast pork, that Bq Ribs recommends, Lechonera Mota (calle canela y calle pina). Foreigners club hotel is on calle canela and calle estrelleta (one block south of park independence).

There are some street walkers near park independencia at night. Don't change money in the street anywhere in Santo Domingo. You can easily walk to Frank's on El Conde (about 3 blocks from Pacos) to change money.

There should be at least one Orange shop in that neighborhood. I asked a chica I know who works in an Orange shop, how much is it to buy a chip for a cell phone in her Orange shop and she told me 200 pesos, with 200 pesos in minutes included.

I don't know if Claro sells chips. If they do, there is a large claro shop about two blocks north of Park Idendependencia. There is a smaller claro shop on el conde.

The night I went to Praia, 500 peso cover charge to enter. No Presidente cerveza. The place was populated with 18 year old light skin Dominicans. Service was good. Very cliquish place. One block over from Praia is cats chica bar. About two blocks from Praia is Stiletto. Stiletto appears to be a normal bar, maybe high end, I didn't go into Stiletto, (seemed to have a bunch of nice cars outside).

Man you do get around. No p4p at all I presume at these clubs.

There are working girls in Coppa Discoteca and sometimes in Bar Atarazana. Can be difficult at times telling who is just a normal customer and who is a working girl. One night in Coppa I was chatting with an attractive chica, I thought she was just a chica just out for drinks, until she said to me, 4000 pesos.

I made a reservation at the Marriott Renaissance Jaragua and found that they have the following special going on; stay 2 nights and get the third night free. The room is only $88. 00 per night plus taxes/fees so that's only $176. 00 for three nights. Not bad. Just a thought for you all.The Renaissance Jaragua has a good pool. Garden section rooms are old and dated. Tower section rooms are nicer. The problem with the Renaissance Jaragua is that it is not 100% chica friendly. Sometimes you can get some chicas in, but other times the security will stop you. Not being 100% chica friendly is a problem with the Renaissance Jaragua.

They are building something in the front part of the Renaissance Jaragua. Maybe they are building a disco to compete with Coppa.

When they have concerts at the Renaissance Jaragua, you can see some attractive Dominicanas showing up for the concert.

All of the major rental car companies are competitive in price. Just be sure to inspect the car. I have rented from Alamo/National, Budget, and Dollar without major problems.

You must use a CC when renting.

Can you rent a car at the Sdq Airport? If so, what is the going price a day. Can you drive from Sdq to Pop? If so, how long is the drive and is it easy to get to.Another member has posted that he paid about 40 dollars per day, paying cash, with adventure rent a car in DR.

There are numerous car rental companies at the airport in Santo Domingo. Alamo/National are partners in Dom Rep. Alamo is open 24/7 at the Santo Domingo airport.

One advantage to using a credit card for a car rental in DR is that most credit card companies will provide coverage for collision/loss damage. If you were to purchase the collision/loss damage insurance from the car rental company, they usually charge about 20 dollars per day for that coverage.

My past trip I used my credit card to rent a car with Alamo and to pay for a room at the Hotel Palacio in Santo Domingo.

I looked at my bank statement online yesterday and there were charges from Mexico (I haven't been in Mexico in over 20 years). Just about every time when I travel to Dom Rep and use my credit card, soon thereafter there are bogus-fraud charges on my credit card. Seems to me that someone in Dom Rep is selling my credit card information to thieves in Mexico, who make a clone of the credit card. Several times charges have appeared for travel expenses, seems the thieves tried to book airline tickets. To me it should be very easy to catch them, because they have to give their real name when they want to buy airline tickets. My bank cancels the card and takes the charges off of my account. But you have to be vigilant about checking your bank statements after visiting the DR.

The drive to Puerto Plata is fairly easy, about 4 hours from Santo Domingo airport, depending on the day of the week and the time of day.

The first time I drove in Dom Rep, I rented a car at SDQ airport and drove to Sosua. (American Airlines had jammed me, by not holding their 40 seat American Eagle turboprop airplane in San Juan for a flight that was less than an hour late coming from Newark. The 40 seat airplane would have taken me to Puerto Plata, instead American flew me into Santo Domingo around 5pm and they left my luggage in San Juan). I rented a mitsubishi small car, around 5pm for the drive to Sosua.

I got lost in Santo Domingo and in Santiago. I finally arrived at the hotel in Sosua around midnight. If you do decide to drive from sdq to pop, study the map and let me know and I will give you some pointers as to make the drive easier.

Praia is also located on Avenida Gustavo Mejia Ricart. Praia is located to the east of Avenida Lope de Vega and Cats is located west of Avenida Lope de Vega, they are about one block apart.

Cats is a small place on the second floor of a plaza that has other businesses. I believe the neighborhood is called Naco and there are new buildings in that neighborhood, it is a good neighborhood.

Cats I believe is run by a dominican chica, when I met her she had short curly blonde hair. Cats had about 4-5 chicas. In Cats they have a room behind some curtains where you can take a chica for lap dances (semi private or private time with the chica, I don't know how many minutes the 500 pesos gets you in the curtained room, but I am fairly sure you could probably grope and grind the chica in that room) for 500 pesos. I drove to Cats one Sunday afternoon with Abr Mainline and they were closed on Sunday. I would return to Cats.

Ok so I have RFF and have just about made up my mind to stay El Embajador as it's chica friendly and apparently per forum "has the best pool in SDQ" (which is where I want to chill) so then I read more about Renaissance Jaragua which a Marriott right? With what looks a great pool, casino with chicas hanging out but is not entirely chica friendly and on the other hand has garden rooms which are not in the main building and therefore possibly easier to get into and avoid security and the attendant walk of shame. But the garden rooms are tired.

I want the best hotel with the best hotel that is chica friendly. Actually doesn't have to be too too friendly; just chica ok; I can give as good as I get!

My first visit 2 days only!I booked through Orbitz a few years ago for the Jaragua, I paid about 112 per night. I checked in alone and I gave them no names of chicas who might visit me. They gave me a room in the garden section. There was always a guard by the entrance of the Garden section, with a printout listing the names of guests staying in that section. On two different days, early in the daytime, I tried to enter my room with two non-pro chicas, the guard said no and the chicas had to wait outside. I have stayed in the tower section and went to my room with a chica one afternoon without anyone stopping me. I was stopped one time at night in the tower section when I tried to enter with a different chica. Jaragua Hotel when I stayed there wanted about 20 dollars for 24 hours of internet service. You can invite whomever you want to hang with you at the pool at the Jaragua, the problem is getting them into your room.

If you will be doing p4p chicas I would not stay at the Jaragua. If you will be doing online chicas, you can give the names of those chicas at check in and those chicas will be able to visit you at the Jaragua. You could also rent a room at the hotel navarro for around 1500 pesos and use that room for sex, while you have your main room at the Jaragua.

Overall I would not recommend the Jaragua for mongering activities.

Hotel El Emabajador (they filmed parts of "Scarface" there) has a big deep pool, with a nice quiet garden around it (also a small building near the pool with a gym and sauna and steam room). Not many guests use the pool. I have a semi-gf who works there, so I no longer stay there, because I don't want her to see me with other chicas. You can make reservations for the El Embajador at the Occidental Hotels webpage. I have seen prices for around 90 per night. If you don't have a rental car, I would probably not recommend el embajador, it is in bella vista, off of avenida churchill, kind of far from gascue. If you really want a good pool to swim in and a quiet pool area to relax then el embajador is good for that. Just know that most of the chicas in gascue will be about a ten minute taxi ride away. When I stayed at Hotel El Embajador they had free wifi internet throughout the hotel. There are working girls on Avenida Sarasota which is the main street near hotel el embajador, some working girls hang around near the lobby and play in the small casino at the el embajador. The small side street directly in front of the hotel embajador has some working girls. If you were to stay at hotel el embajador you would be closer to the chica bar (a-1 divas?) on avenida nunez caceres, near avenida Kennedy. You would also be closer to el penthouse, those two places would be about a ten minute taxi ride from the hotel.

Hotel Napolitano (close to baby dolls and foxys) has a pool on the second floor overlooking the malecon. Hotel Palacio has a small pool with a nice small lounge area around it, where you can take the sun. Hotel Palacio (about two blocks from hard rock cafe in zona colonial) has free wifi internet.

If you use Orbitz, enter promotion code "10FABSAVE" (expires June 30, 2010, for two or more nights) and that will cut 10% off the price of any hotels in DR that appear on orbitz.

Any questions just ask.

What rental car companies are the best to use at SDQ airport? Can you rent a car with cash or do you have to use credit card? How is the driving from SDQ to San Cristobal?

ThanksOther members have said stay away from hertz in the DR. Another member I believe said stay away from Europcar.

My last 15-20 trips, I have rented with Alamo/National. Rates are usually about 40 dollars per day (cheaper if you rent the really small car). The 40 dollars includes the third party liability insurance and I usually pay the 3 dollars per day for the glass/tire coverage. I make the reservations online and I receive a confirmed price (I always print out a copy of the reservation that has the price on it, in case someone at the car rental place tries to overcharge me, I can show him the price from the printout of the reservation).

The cheapest car that Alamo has is a manual transmission Chevy Spark (made in Korea or China). Good little car.

Another member has posted that Adventure Rent a Car takes cash. They have a webpage on the internet. If you rent with Adventure Rent a Car, appears they don't have an office at the sdq airport. You would have to call them or send them emails asking about their procedures for arriving passengers at sdq airport. They most likely would send someone to meet you at the airport and that person would take you to the Adventure rent a car office, to do the paperwork and receive the car.

There are coupon codes that you can use to save money on the car rental. I would suggest paying the extra 5-7 dollars per day and get the third party liability insurance (in case the vehicle comes in contact with a person).

San Cristobal is an easy drive. There are two roads that go to San Cristobal from Santo Domingo. You can just go straight, west, on the malecon (35 minutes from Melia Hotel, near pasteur and malecon). The other road you get from Avenida 27 de Febrero soon after Plaza de Banderas. The road from Avenida 27 de Febrero, I was told is faster. If you take the malecon to get to San Cristobal, there is a part that becomes an elevated roadway, near that area you will see about 10 cabanas, about 2 minutes after that, there is a 30 peso toll (try to keep loose change in the car, there is a sign at the toll plaza saying they won't give change for large bills, so try to have some 50 or 100 peso bills with you). Coming back to Santo Domingo using that same road there is no toll.

Dictionary: car·rot (kăr'ət)
n.
1. A biennial Eurasian plant (Daucus carota subsp. sativus) in the parsley family, widely cultivated as an annual for its edible taproot.
2. The usually tapering, elongate, fleshy orange root of this plant, eaten as a vegetable.
3. A reward offered for desired behavior; an inducement: "Yennifer has been “modeling” the "carrot” for the last 2 days and now putas want to know how they can earn a “carrot” as well. So I tell them, I have enough “carrots” to go around and I’m more than willing to spread the love."

Probably the best map you can get would be from Mapas Gaar.

What I also do is use maps.google.com and print out a small section of the city I will be visiting. This will give more detailed street information, maybe just a 10 block radius per page.

If you are comfortable and happy staying at the La Casona Dorada, that is good. Good advice, to put valuables in that hotel's safety deposit box. The location of that hotel is good. Hey,

Where can I get a great map to the Dominican Republic? I will bee doing a lot of driving, visiting Samana, Sosua, Santo Domingo and Santiago. So I need a good map I can use in the car.

Thank youI had two of these maps. The last one was stolen from the outside pocket of my luggage at SDQ airport (why a Dominican would want to steal a map of the Dominican is beyond me).

Laminated Dominican Republic Map by Borch (English, Spanish, French, Italian and German Edition) (Map).

I bought this map at Amazon for around 11 dollars, it is laminated so you can get it wet without it falling apart. It has details of the larger cities including Santo Domingo, Santiago and I believe Puerto Plata.

My first night I will be hanging out in El Conde Pacos or Hard Rock Cafe with a dom. Chica who I meet on my last trip, she use to work at A-1 Divas she quit and moved to San Pedro. She and her sister are to meet up with me for drinks and whatever happens, she wants me to bring my friend(Jaosousa) with me, she likes how he dances haha. I will PM you my dom. Cell #, I have to find a charger for it. Left my Claro/iphone chargers at Jaguar Hotel, but will hookup it should be fun. Bq Ribs are you in?

That would really be nice to have somewhere to go to listen to some live music. I would be happy with just some local talent. Jaragua Hotel / Casino Lounge has live entertainment but that place can get boring real quick.I actually enjoyed the live talent at Jaragua hotel/casino.It was free, not to crowded, and had two hot girls singing.I went with Elizabeth(the big booty girl from previous pics).

Probably the best map you can get would be from Mapas Gaar.

What I also do is use maps.google.com and print out a small section of the city I will be visiting. This will give more detailed street information, maybe just a 10 block radius per page.

http://www.mapasgaar.com.do/If you are driving and have Garmin GPS this might be a good option. I have purchased the maps and will test them out the first week in May. GPS is great in US cities so hopefully the same will apply in the Dominican. $50 for turn by turn map.

You can buy a Claro cell phone on Avenida 30 de Marzo, that is the main Claro shop. I bought a ZTE brand cell phone there for 495 pesos (with minutes included). You can also bring along your cell phone from the States and ask them about a chip for that phone (bring your passport if you buy a cell phone or chip there). This Claro shop is just north of the Foreigners Club Hotel on the other side of park independencia, the Claro shop is on the google map for sdq, you can use Boricua Online's map to view the location better: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&ie=UTF8&ll=18.480627,-69.965143&spn=0.009891,0.019248&z=16&msid=106767774275556555984.00046d685b11334063b43&mid=1246199584

The chica said she lives in San Pedro de Marcoris? On a a gua gua, Santo Domingo to San Pedro de Marcoris is at least 90 minutes. The last gua gua back to San Pedro de Marcoris from Santo Domingo is around 9pm at night. Some gua guas from San Pedro de Marcoris let off passengers near Park Independencia. The other place they let off passengers and get passengers is near Avenida Mexico, just north of Zona Colonial.

If you have a TJ Maxx or Marshalls store near where you live, those stores sell regular sized, name brand perfumes from 10-25 dollars. A 15-20 dollar perfume is not a bad gift to give a chica.

On El Conde (near the large Art School) about one block from Hard Rock Cafe is Siegfredo Zanetti Espresso bar, inside that bar they have the "Beds". A place with about 12 large beds, where you can lounge and have drinks with your chica. Drink prices are about the same as hard rock cafe.

I have no clue which of those companies is best for DR. Good to know that Garmin has Dominican Republic maps. I look forward to reading your post in May after you have used the Garmin in the DR.

Another member has posted that he paid about 40 dollars per day, paying cash, with adventure rent a car in DR.

Maybe that is why I like plastic chair and table service. It is much cheaper! At the right colmado you can have a great time watching the local chicas dance while sipping your Prez and you have a much better chance of picking up one of them chicas.

It looks like they are just adding a street entrance to the casino so you won't have to walk thru the hotel lobby. A new entrance directly from the malecon with bright lights should draw a larger crowd and at the same time the lobby and restaurant areas will be quieter.

It is a 3 +/- hour drive from SD to Sosua all depending on traffic in Santo Domingo and Santiago. Quite naturally the bus is a little longer because of the stops. You can take either Caribe Tours or Metro to Sosua, both are modern comfortable buses.

Thanks for the Info. Do you have a good Map. Does a Naviation system works in th DR. I woluld like for you to give me some good pointers. I never been to Sdq but i did went to Sosua and was of the chain. In your opinon which city do you like better out of Boca Chica and Sosua.Sosua is better than Boca Chica. However, if you want to fly into SDQ, then Boca Chica is 15 minutes from the SDQ airport.

Driving to Sosua from SDQ airport. Less traffic late at night, but the roads are dark, as a first time driver in DR, I would not recommend driving at night from SDQ to Sosua (I did it my first time driving there, but it was a long drive).

Best time to travel is in the middle part of the day after morning rush hour traffic and before evening rush hour, especially in Santo Domingo. On the weekends there is usually less traffic.

If you rent a car at SDQ airport, when you exit the airport parking lot you will make a right onto a road that has two lanes of traffic for both directions of travel (you will pass a Texaco gas station on the right, that is where I usually fill up the car, before returning the car to the rental company). After less than 5 minutes the road you are on, will split. To the left the road will elevate and that will put you onto Las Americas Highway for Santo Domingo. The other part of the road goes toward the right in the direction of Boca Chica.

Heading into Santo Domingo on Las Americas you will pass a toll plaza that has rounded things embedded into the asphalt, as a way to make cars slow down. Going towards Santo Domingo, there is no toll there. When returning to SDQ airport you will have to pay a 30 peso toll.

Keep going straight on the highway Las Americas. After about 30 minutes you will come upon the Juan Bosch bridge (puente Juan Bosch), it is a big modern bridge. When you have gotten over the bridge you will have three choices. Going to the left will bring you toward Zona Colonial, you don't want that. Going to the right will put you underneath Avenida 27 de Febrero for local traffic (you could go that way). If you go straight after the bridge you will go up onto the elevated portion of Avenida 27 de Febrero. If you take the elevated part, eventually you will need to make a right turn off of Avenida 27 Febrero onto a major street and head north to Avenida Kennedy. Several large streets cross avenida 27 de febrero, where you could make the right turn.

Might be best to take the local route (non-express) after the bridge. You need to get on Avenida Kennedy. I haven't been on Ave 27 de Febrero after the bridge in a while. Only problem with taking the express elevated part is that I am not 100% sure you can make a right onto Avenida Maximo Gomez to head towards Avenida Kennedy. (there are parts of the express part of Avenida 27 de Febrero that go below ground). Ave 27 de Febrero and Kennedy are somewhat close to each other near Avenida Maximo Gomez. The further west you travel on Avenida 27 de Febrero the distance between 27 de febrero and kennedy becomes greater. Easiest for you would probably to make the right onto Ave. Maximo Gomez and take maximo gomez to kennedy, where you will make a left on kennedy.

Once you reach Avenida Kennedy make a left. Just go straight on Avenida Kennedy and it will become Autopista Duarte. Keep going straight, after about 30 minutes there will be a 30 peso toll. Once you are outside of Santo Domingo it is a good 4 lane highway (2 lanes for each direction), you will stay on this road going straight, after about 2 hours (depending how fast you drive) the highway will enter into Santiago.

I'll continue after a short break.

Caribe Tours and Metro bus service both go to Sosua from Santo Domingo for about ten dollars.

When I drive into Santo Domingo from the airport, I get off of Las Americas highway and take Avenida Espana to the small pontoon bridge that puts me on the malecon near zona colonial. A person wanting to get to Sosua from SDQ airport, there is no point in taking that route.

When I am in Zona Colonial and I want to drive to Santiago, I take Avenida 30 de Marzo, near park independencia, to Avenida San Martin, which will put me onto Avenida Kennedy. If I am near the Hotel Melia or Hotel Jaragua, I will take the Malecon (also known as Avenida George Washington) west, until I get to Avenida Luperon, I will make a right on Luperon and take Avenida Luperon north until I reach Autopista Duarte, then go left on autopista duarte for santiago.

When you enter into Santiago, there are different ways can you go. In Santiago you will be on local roads with traffic lights for about 20-30 minutes, until you reach the highway again.

I have taken the mountain road from Santiago, several times, to get to Sosua. That mountain road is not for the faint of heart. It is a narrow road, sometimes with one lane washed out, with 500 foot drops to the side of the road. Lots of turns on that road. It is a very scenic road. That road will take you near to the town of Montellano, where you will make a right to take the highway into Sosua.

Probably the easiest route to take through Santiago is to get on Avenida Estrella Sadhalla going north. When driving from Santo Domingo, you will know that you have entered Santiago when you start to see a bunch of Cabanas. The highway will then turn into a local road with traffic lights. There will be signs for Avenida Estrella Sadhalla, follow those signs and once you are on Avenida Estrella Sadhalla going north, you will go straight and that road will eventually become autopista duarte, which will take you to another road that will lead to Puerto Plata.

If you miss the turn for Avenida Estrella Sadhalla, don't worry, just keep going straight, you will eventually get to a round about, stay towards the right at that round about and you will pass Hotel Matum (in front of the Monument). Keep going straight on that road. From the google map that road will become Avenida Imbert. Which will run parallel with Avenida 27 de Febrero in Santiago. You want to get onto Avenida 27 Febrero going north. Avenida Imbert crosses Avenida 27 de Febrero, there you can make a left onto Avenida 27 de Febrero. Avenida 27 de Febrero will take you north to Autopista Duarte, when you reach Autopista Duarte you will go left onto Autopista Duarte.

Autopista Duarte is known as highway 1. You can take that highway until you see a sign for Puerto Plata, you will make a right onto highway 5 (canada bonita) and take that road north to Puerto Plata.

It is a fairly easy drive. If you are lost, the people are very nice about giving directions. If your Spanish is not great, just ask " Por Puerto Plata?" or "Direccion por Puerto Plata, porfavor", porfavor is please.

Highway 5 will take you right into Puerto Plata. The main road in Puerto Plata was redone about 4-5 years ago, with new street lights and new asphalt. You will take that main road through Puerto Plata, depending on traffic, you will be through Puerto Plata in 20 minutes.

At the end of the main road you will go right. Soon after you go right, you will see the Brugal factory on your left. Just go straight on that road for 35-40 minutes and you will enter into Sosua.

Sosua has two parts, separated by Playa (beach) Sousa. The first part of Sosua that you will see when coming from Puerto Plata is Charamicos (kind of like the slummy part of Sosua), after about 5 minutes you will enter into the El Batey part of Sosua.

If you want to take the mountain road, from Avenida Estrella Sadahalla going north, you will make a right onto Avenida Bartolome Colon, where you make the right you will see a tall building with "HACHE" written on the building near the roof (that is Plaza Hache). Just go straight on Avenida Bartolome Colon and that road will become the mountain road.

I think that is what he is talking about, taking the coastal road from Sosua to Nagua and then the new highway to SDQ.

What is this chit chat about building a new road from Samana airport to Las Terrenas. Only thing I saw last trip was repair and resurfacing of the existing road.

There is also a lot of much needed repair being done on the road over the mountains to Las Terrenas. No way in this world would I drive on that road at night, no way.

Can you rent a car at the Sdq Airport? If so, what is the going price a day. Can you drive from Sdq to Pop? If so, how long is the drive and is it easy to get to.You can also rent cars from Payless Car Rental, I've rented with them a bunch of times and never had any problems. Their prices start at $19 per day for a picanto without insurance, of course if you want insurance that'll probably go up to $35 or so per day and their credit card hold is only about $250-450 around there.

I also read some guys asking about cell phones? I tried to purchase an Orange sim card and NO they won't sell to foreigners, I also tried 2 stores and NO! I bought a sim with Claro and they had no problem selling me a card, of course I had to show them my passport.

I have one question, can I buy another SIM card with Claro since the first one that I bought was lost somewhere in the plane coming back? They won't give me a hard time about me having a SIM card already?

Nothing blocking the finished part of the highway from the unfinished part. I was driving at night, I drove on the unfinished part for about 50 feet and made a U-turn and then drove back to a local road where I made a left turn turn, and it was all local roads to Las Terrenas from there. I arrived at the hotel in Las Terrenas around 11pm. The new highway is completely finished to Nagua and a pure pleasure to drive. From the entrance on avenida las americas it is about one hour and fifteen minutes to Nagua. There are three tolls, $RD 43, 139, and 165. There is one rest stop about an hours drive up the highway for gas, food, and tourist trinkets with typical tourist prices. At the end of the highway go right for Las Terrenas, Las Galeras, Sanchez, or Samana. If you make the left it will take you to Cabarete, Sosua, and Puerto Plata.

For Koki to go from Sosua to SDQ in 2.5 hours is very easy taking the route he took. For me it would take a little longer as I like to stop for a beer, stop to eat, stop to take pictures, stop for maybe a chica on the road who might want to go to a cabana ST.

Keep in mind the new higway is on avenida las americas (close to the airport) in santo domingo este. If you are going to or coming from santo domingo centro add another 30 minutes to this driving time.

We did it on a Sunday so therewas no traffic going into the city. Also no chicas along the highway to waylay us.

It is a New highway.

Lots of big changes in the Las Terrenas area.

A new project with 1500 units. New roads and cruise ship port in Samana.

They are working fast.

Thanks man, thanks a lot. I am new to the Samana area but am slowly starting to fall in love with the north east. I will be out that way next week. When traveling on the new highway where should I look for signs of the new new highway being built. I can't say enough good words for the SDQ-Nagua road, it is the best!

Thats great, the two times I drove Sosua.Sd I went different ways. One time I went sosua, cabarette, thru Moca(21i think) then picked up the main hwy to sdq.

The next time I took 5 west sosua, pop, Santiago etc. Now I can do sdq-sosua faster with the new road.
Mr Gogo this new highway (actually a little over a year old) is the best thing to hit rep dom since topless chicas in G-strings.

A quick 5 minute drive from the airport to the entrance. Set your cruise control on 100-120 kph and smooth asphalt awaits you. Just like zooming down the tarmac at the airport except you are in your rental listening to some bachata or merengue and a Presidente tucked between your legs.

The only stretch of the road where you can not pass a slow moving truck is when driving through los haitises national park. Then again you really don't want to drive too fast as this is really beautiful country.

The road was put through a palm tree orchard (the trees are perfectly aligned), another part appears to have rice paddie fields on both sides of the road. One part goes through some cut outs in a small mountain. The last toll I came to before the mountains, it was night time and it had started to rain, the toll booth lady told me to drive very carefully. I did see one horse on the highway at night. There aren't any towns along the road, so no motoconchos, but I did see some people walking along the side of the highway in spots. In the daytime, it is a very easy road to drive on.

My novia has just started using a computer (taking classes) and I let her use my computer the other day, when she ran into some unencrypted photos of an "amiga con derrechos" nothing racy but we are embracing on the beach. She was very upset, crying and asking me how many DR girlfriends I had before her. I told her the truth about the girlfriends but not about the putas.

She wants to make sure I don't go running around anymore so she gives it to me 3 to 4 times a day now. Every time I get a hard on she's there to make sure it gets taken care of. When I'm down there I have no time or energy to screw anyone else.

I'm loving it.

Jaososua has taught me how important it is to memorize street names and landmarks.

My question is I know both of you have thousands of pictures, do you leave them on the memory cards and buy new ones? Do you download where I know they take up alot of space on my cpu? Or do you have an external storage for photos?

It seems when providing info here its important to maybe have photos for further details.

I have an apple macbook for traveling but I hate loading alot on it. I also have a home pcu with external storage.

I never did quite well in English courses in school so pictures express my words much better. At the end of each day I load my pics onto my laptop. I subscribe to SugarSync for online backup. A major criteria for me is my hotel must have in room fast WiFi and of course a frig.

Once I have the pics on my laptop SugarSync automatically uploads the pics for backup online and at the same time the pics will be downloaded to my desktop at home. Actually my pics arrive at my house before I do.

Also at the end of the day I delete all chica pics from my camera so the following day a different chica will not be able to see them. My laptop is set up where personal files need a password. In most cases I format my SDHC card before each trip and start new. I like to leave the pics on the SDHC card for a few weeks just in case something goes haywire and I lose them on my pc.

One more thing I do is back up my pics every few months on an external hard drive. One of the $50 ones. In essence I have my pics stored on my laptop, desktop, online, and external hard drive. It may be over kill but I enjoy looking at photos, especially when finances don't allow me to go to rep dom.

If you have a 4GB, preferably 8GB, SD or SDHC card you can take zillions of pics in high resolution and not run out of storage space. You would also be surprised how many short videos you can also store.

I take two cameras when I travel. A Canon G9 with 8GB SDHC card for daytime tourist pics and in hotel chica pics. When going out at night and sipping Brugal and Presidentes I take a compact Canon SD1200 which is about the size of a pack of cigarettes.

SugarSync works fine for me but there are plenty other online backup services. I backup photos, documents, and email. I don't worry about my music as I always have the original CDs.

First Presidente on me next week. Some chicas are like spies. If you have msn messenger be aware of what folders, photos are downloaded to. I have had chicas click the "Pictures" folders in the start menu and photos that chicas sent me were in that folder.

Also in msn messenger by default in your msn profile, it is public who you are have added to your msn messenger and the comments section are also public. I went into my profile and changed everything to private after some chica read a comment another chica wrote.

I try not to give them any ammunition that they can use to try to shoot me with.

TrueCrypt is a free program wherein you can make encrypted hidden drives on you computer, to store photos and videos, that you don't want chicas seeing.

Acer laptops come with My Win Locker, a similar program with which you can make hidden password protected drives on your computer.

Turn on your guest account and have a password to log into your main account. Have the password be required even when the computer is coming out of sleep. You never know when your laptop might get stolen, best that the thieves do not have access to your main account. Click "start", then "control panel" then "user accounts" to change settings.

There are quite a few chicas out there who are not at all putas who have learned from momma and the other women in family that the way to keep a man is to make sure you drain every drop of leche at every opportunity. For these chicas rule #1 is to never ever withhold sex - because that's an opening for a man to stray and dominican chicas are well aware that it would take you about 2 minutes after leaving the door to pick up a cute young thing who would be happy to do whatever you like.

Put the same chica in Nueva York and everything changes because she knows you don't have the same options.

I have an apple macbook for traveling but I hate loading alot on it. I also have a home pcu with external storage.I have about 5 external hard drives, I have taken thousands of photos in DR and also many videos. TrueCrypt is a free program that enables you to make a HIDDEN, encrypted, password protected drive on your computer's hard drive. http://www.truecrypt.org/

My WinLocker is a similar program, which you can probably buy.

Usually at the end of the day, I transfer all photos from a digital camera's memory card to the password protected drive on my laptop. I usually travel with 5 SD memory cards for my digital camera. It is good to have a few cards for a couple of reasons. Some chicas will try to erase photos from the camera, if you have some good photos, you can swap out the card before the chica gets a chance to delete any photos (with a blank memory card in the camera, you can even say to the chica that you deleted all the photos). Another reason to have at least 3 memory cards for the digital camera is if you are meeting up with multiple chicas in the same day. You can swap out memory cards after each chica. Just remember if you put a memory card in the car's glove box, don't forget to retrieve it before returning the car. (that happened to me).

The small USB pen drives come in sizes from 1gb to 32gb. Prices have come down for all memory. SD memory cards are cheap, a 2TB external hard drive can be purchased for around 100 dollars (I buy many electronics from Newegg.com). If you want to, you can encrypt and password protect an entire hard drive using truecrypt. If you have a complicated password, might be useful to email yourself the password.

It has been two years now I have been backing up online with no problems what so ever. I used Dell back up online the first year since it was free with my laptop purchase. I switched to SugarSync primarily because of it's ability to sync between multiple computers. You can open a free account to give it a test run.

https://www.sugarsync.com/

When in rep dom I also take a lot of tourist pictures which I share with family and friends. My rated "G" pictures I upload to Picasa Web Albums and email the link. You can obtain PicasaWeb free from google.com.

I also travel with a portable HP photo printer. This comes in handy for printing out 4x6 pics to give to the chicas. Nothing like watching a half naked chica lying on the bed waiting all googled eyed for her pic to come out of the printer.

Another thing to pack are USB powered portable speakers and a couple of bachata or merengue DVD music videos and a DVD movie. A frig filled with food, movies, music, photos.......... equals one (or more) happy chica. All the junk I take easily fits in a very small carry on.

Like I mentioned in another post I am going to try to hit the bowling alley with a chica this trip. Funny part about that is I didn't know SD had a bowling alley until Jaosousa posted a link to the map "Gay Santo Domingo". Also on the map is a location for a small porn movie theater in SD.

It doesn't take much at all to have fun in SD. Most things you have done in life and take for granted many chicas in rep dom have never experienced. I still become amazed when I go to the larger stores and see chicas who have never been on an escalator.

Many of the chicas live upstairs although some live off "campus". There are a few rooms and they have as many as 12 or more chicas in a room. (bunk beds). If you get a chica that lives outside and you take her for short time, you might get lucky and turn it into TLN. The girls who live at 305 have to return after the two hours if you salida them for un rato. From what the girls told me, the cubanos (father and son) treat them quite well and working there is a big step above anywhere else both in treatment and facilities.

You are correct. Both Great guys and treat the Chicas very well. They understand the principles of investment. They help the Chicas to have stable home lives so they may perform at work. YES! I said it. That sounds crazy for a ***** house but that’s how it is. (80's Pimping 101)The Chicas love them. I can only rationalize, that you have to make sure they are not overly starving for cash and hustling the customers to much. However, we all know they are women’s so good luck. They have some connections with the Government we were told. I do get the feeling that they were the hands off owners of several other now closed places that just decided to consolidate and so doing the vacuum of their methods sucked up the others clubs ASS-ets literally.

Place is at the end stages of its build out. There is a Jacuzzi pit waiting on forming and gahnite, outside bar waiting plumbing and shelving, as well as several noticeable trim inside and out. (Sorry Contractor by trade) Back half of the place seemed to be living quarters as well as front second floor.

Had three of my best friends with me showing them what I know about Santo Domingo. We all had two a piece over 4 days all about 7+ all with great service. Our Driver Jose Sanchez if you know him may attest. We normally don't mess with the locals but Jose was a great translator and goes get it guy. Knew when to leave and knew when he would be needed. You got 2 hours from the time the girl exits and signals the concierge. There is no on site.

Like Alex said, good quality chicas. The calvo is Ronny, the son. Very personable guy and treats the customer. The two nights I was there were slow Sunday and Monday but the selection was diverse and very good. I'm told weekends are even better. Tall, short, flaca and voluptuous, a veritable smorgasboard. And unlike the other houses, there seems to be a minimum quality standard. I was told that the chicas can get room and board and even decide if they want to go with a guy. When the jacuzzi and back bar are done, this should be like paradise. Stopped at Girl's House before hitting here and there was no comparison. Had to cancel my trip next week but I'll be back there the weekend of 5/14 and will take some pix.

Good report. I sometimes buy Cialis at the pharmacy that is on the corner of Pasteur and Independencia (diagonally across from Villas Hernanos restaurant), small low key kind of pharmacy.

I love this place....I Bought 20mg for 12bucks, Reupped Minutes on phone, bought some pliers to fix suitcase, condoms and exchanged pesos at the Bank ATM.

Anyway, can someone confirm what Romeo was saying at 305? The statement was;" All women that work casas must have a health card. If the police come to crack down and one girl does not have a health card the place is shut down for the night and the owners are fined heavily." He was explaining that most of the sw's you see are girls that can not work at a casa because they can not get a clear card, simply crazy or Haitians. He also stated that you would have to be a complete fool to deal with a SW for any reason viewing this fact and safety concerns. Commented that the plan for the President for the capital was to encourage investment by removing SW's and concentrate simply on ensuring safety and health at the casas. Pointing that, as long as the CASA is simply a show place for the workers/Girls the casa is fine and may make money off of housing, providing security and alcohol sales but In no certain circumstances may on site services be rendered.

I also was hearing that the Government is really working on the Haitian that manages the estate of the big lot across the street from the Pharmacy that runs all the way down to the Mistick13. State says that the estate must do something with the property. Says it’s an eyesore, Housing vagrants and prohibitive of the area growing economically. The Haitians response; Raise the selling price from 4 million to 6 million pesos. That’s not going to end well. In the municipalities I have worked for in the US, they would have the health department condemn it. Half as clean it up and charge him for while auctioning it for the average Square footage of surrounding properties. Sold it, took out all kind of fees and fines and a year latter remitted him a check for 5 cents on the dollar of its actual worth. Yep, In America we do private citizens like that.

Anybody....Shiat sounds too logical and practical to be in any way associated with Government. Just want someone to comment. My new 5-8 novia asked if I wanted to see her Health card is why I can only half way think it’s true.

Any body got a good Sosoua Mongering Map heading there in August.

I guess I fall into the category of being a complete fool. I have had pretty good luck with SD SW. Just last night I saw a half dozen real cuties hanging on the corner by Navarro Hotel. There were SW all up and down Independencia as usual. I did read they wanted the SW to not work the Malecon.

Quite naturally an owner of a casa would have bad words for SW. The owner wants your business. You can see a chica working a casa one night wanting 2500 pesos and the next night she will be working the street wanting 1500 pesos. No need to be a rocket scientist to figure out the best value for your pesos. I have never been a big fan of casas.

http://dominicantoday.com/dr/tourism/2010/3/23/35189/More-Police-patrols-aim-to-make-Santo-Domingos-Malecon-saferThe headline of that article should be: "More Police on the Malecon to shake down drivers"

I doubt the police will harass the street walkers on the Malecon. More likely the police will be there to harass people driving new cars at night. I never felt unsafe on the Malecon. I never saw any criminal elements on the Malecon in the past 8 years. More Police on the Malecon will probably have the effect of lessening street walkers, because the police will harass guys driving new cars, who are out late at night looking for some action and those guys will stay away from the malecon, to avoid the harassment by the police and therefore there will be less clients for the street walkers. Harassment of drivers on the Malecon and less street walkers, will benefit the owners of casas.

305 is allowed to stay open late after the curfew, a clear violation of the law. I would guess the police chief is getting a nice cash stipend, from the owners of some casas (some casas will have to charge more as way to make up the money they have to pay the police and/or other government officials). Casa 305 is on the same street, two blocks away from the main PLD party headquarters (the ruling political party in Dom Rep).

There is really only one area on the Malecon where the streetwalkers congregate, near the Isla gas station, commercial area. At night, only the gas station is open there. The police will drive down the Malecon and then turn onto Independencia, to do a loop. They will pass many street walkers on Independencia, they will pass Casa 305 and see that it is open after curfew. The police will be looking for new cars to stop to try and get money from the drivers, the police are not looking for criminal activity.

To me the police driving around at night in Santo Domingo, are the thieves.

Jo, your all collaborating what I was being told. According to the conversations, The goverment wants the action pushed into Casa and will tolerate a few minor violations to clean up the streets as long as health and pandaring laws are enfoced. They want to clean up the image so they may go after more tourist ship traffic.

Why is all this of interest to me? Well, I have some friends that are thinking of investing. The slow rumer in the caribbian is that Obama/U.S.A. are leaning to easing travel and trade restrictions with Cuba in the next two years. The evident implications is that the inclusion of Cuba as a Port of Call makes several caribbian islands more attractive for cruise ships travel. If you look at most routes, the illogical lat stop before coming back to USA/FLL/MIA is to Mexico.

Somebody tell me I am wrong. Information is Key and I don't mind being told im crazy...

Aurora the little bar behind Jaragua hotel is a thing of the past along with all the other little stores in that section. Aurora was always hit and miss but at $RD 1800 take out it was the cheapest casa in Gazcue. All the buildings were demolished and I don't have a clue what will replace the shops. If you look at the photo of Aurora No Mas to the extreme right you will see Manolos Restaurant. The other Aurora No Mas photo is a pile of lumber that remains from the demolition. I don't remember everything that was there, but there was Aurora, Dominican comedor, a seamtress shop, and I think there was also a small call center.

Jaragua Hotel Casino has opened it's new casino entrance on Avenida George Washington. You can still enter the casino via the hotel lobby.

The plaza on the malecon appears to have something going on every weekend. I know my last few trips on Saturday night there was some type of free show.

I also noticed a few extra police vehicles parked on the malecon today. I don't know if they are there because of the increased police force mentioned in the news or if they were there today because of this evening's show in the plaza. Then again they could just be getting prepared for when Jaosousa returns. LOL

Good photos. Lapsus was some what adjacent to Aurora. Is Lapsus gone?

I feel like a gangsta rapper about the police in Santo Domingo, I remember that one song "F_ck the PO Lice".

The police on the motorcycles have been the ones breaking my balls recently. In the past I would see the police truck type vehicle on the malecon and they never bothered me. When I drive around at night checking out the street walkers, I do a couple of loops, to check out the inventory on the Malecon and on Independencica. The other guys I see doing the same thing are driving new cars. The more driving I do there now, the greater the likelihood I will come across two police on a motorcycle.

Further down on the Malecon past the Hilton, 20 year old Dominicans park their cars on the Malecon and hang out there at night. I saw the Policia Nacional breaking balls there as well. If you read the comments section of the articles in Dominican Today, many Dominicans feel the same way, they see the policia nacional as ball breakers out looking for easy money.

What's the best time of day to walk el conde, when do they have to most action? Morning? Noon? Evening? Night?Action as in working chicas? El Conde is busy throughout the day, mostly normal people walking on El Conde. For working girls, Pacos (now called Grands) at the end of El Conde is the place that will usually have some working girls throughout the day. Other parts of El Conde I saw practically no working girls. Later in the evening most of Zona Colonial resembles a ghost town. Near Plaza de Espana and Atarazana there are people out at night. There is one park in Zona Colonial where gays hang out at night. Off of El Conde on some side streets there are some bars.

The street chicas start showing up on Avenida Independencia, near Avenida Pasteur around 7pm or around the time when the sun goes down.

Lapsus is still there. Everything from Lapsus's parking lot to the corner is gone. It was weird to walk up and do a double take since I was just there about a month ago. It will be interesting to see what will be built there. Since Manolos did the remodel job on the old restaurant that used to be there a different clientel can now be found in the area.

Thanks for the response. I was just asking about action in general, because I'm taking two of my friends with me for their first time to SD and didn't want to go there and it's dead. My first time, I was blown away at how busy it was and wanted them to experience to same. I'll probably arrive around 1:00 pm and take them to check out El Conde and the Colonial Zone, then after that hit the casas! We'll only be there for two days so I want do as much as I can b4 we head up north.

Baby Dolls should be open at 1pm, it is on the Malecon near to the Zona Colonial. Sky House on Pasteur should be open at 1pm. If you go to a casa early, you will most likely see chicas with a hair net on and wearing pajama type clothes, usually sexy pajama type clothes. I am not sure when bar 360 opens in zona colonial.

GBP is a small fun place with good prices. GBP, from what I have been told doesn't stay open late. I don't know what time the new place, Bar 305 opens, it is on Avenida Independencia across from Villa Hernanos restaurant near Avenida Pasteur.

There is a happy ending massage place that is open during the day on Calle Cervantes up the block from Ave. Independencia, next door to the supermarket.

You can start off in Pacos (Grands) have a few beers there, check out the scene, you can then walk south to the malecon to visit Baby Dolls, then you can walk along the malecon to Pasteur, turn right and visit sky house (maybe girl's house will be open). From Sky House and Girls House you can walk to bar 305, then if you want you can walk to the happy ending massage place. From there you can take a taxi to GBP (walking in the heat is not for everyone, it is safe walking around during the day, plenty of taxis around, 150-200 pesos).

Casa Theresa opened at 7pm on a Sunday, maybe they open earlier other days. Casa de Modelos, not sure when they open. Boricua Online has pinned a place at 56 Pasteur (about two blocks north of Ave. Independencia), 1000 pesos, I have not been to that place.

If you are flying into Santo Domingo that day, you could ask the cab driver to stop at Dreams Massage, near the horse racing track, it is off the highway when heading from the airport to Santo Domingo (only problem would be worrying about your luggage in the taxi). There is another place that has been mentioned, that is north of the ramp from the airport to the highway.

I haven't heard anything about health cards for chicas in casas, yet. My parents went on a cruise a few years ago and their ship stopped in La Romana. From what I have seen mostly cruise ships with Europeans are stopping in Santo Domingo. With the price of fuel likely to go higher in the future, the cruise companies will look for ways to shorten the distance of travel of their ships. San Juan, Santo Domingo are closer to the US.

Opening up travel to Cuba, I doubt it in my lifetime. The politics regarding Cuba is tied to the politics of Florida. Getting the electoral college votes of Florida is important to winning a presidential election, I doubt anyone will greatly mess with the Cuba policy as it now stands, with the possibility of losing Florida.

Is there a reason you want to stay en SD este?

I have stayed at Aurora del Sol which was a really nice hotel. Unless you have a car and really know your way around there isn't much you can do on the other side of the river.

If you are bringing a chica with you it can be nice but don't go solo expecting to find chicas galore within walking distance.

Gentleman;

The police in Santo Domingo are crooks, thieves and continue to prey on foreigners in rental cars; In fact to the point where almost without question you will be stopped on the Malecon after dark any night for no good reason. They are not there for anybodies protection other than to fatten their own wallets, please don't think otherwise.

This post is to say GBP is still alive and kicking. It has been several, several months since I have been to GBP. Today all telefono lines went dead on replies from chicas I know.

Well I say grab me a taxi and go to GBP. I first went to Nacional Super Mercado and had a bit to eat from the hot buffet and a small bottle of Brugal with a coke. I just sit, eat, enjoy the air conditioner, and play a few games on the iTouch.

OK now I am full of food and watching eye candy so I head off to GBP.

GBP still has a special of $RD 2000 for dos chicas para un hora. I saw this one chica who was maybe a 7 but really cute. I know I want her........

I ask where can I smoke a cigarette and they point me in the direction........

That is where I met rock my boat bebe.

I took both to the room for the discount price but half through the session I was totally into chica number two. Chica number one just sat on the other side of the room and watched.

When all else fails,,,,,,,,,,,,, try GBP......... dos chicas, un hora, 2 mil pesos, and tipping is NOT required

Sometimes they advertise one chica for 1000 pesos and 2 chicas for 1500. GBP is a funny crazy place.

There is a place near the horse race track formerly known as Dream House (they changed the name because there was another Dream House), the new name is Gran Paradise Center. They have a special, 2 hands massage 1000 pesos, 4 hands 1500 and full service 2000 pesos. Place has received good comments. They open from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm with reservations in advance. Phone and email available in mongering map.

Good post. When I was there I had to smoke a cigarette by the small back window, you have to pass the room where some of the chicas change their clothes.

I have been in SD just about a week. Things have been kind of slow for me. I guess I have been to SD and rep dom so much I have just mellowed out and don't find the rat race hunting for chicas the number one thing. Don't get me wrong but I am more selective in finding a GFE chica than banging 5 hard core putas a day. SD vet know what I am saying.

GBP still has a special of $Road 2000 for dos chicas para un hora. I saw this one chica who was maybe a 7 but really cute. I know I want her.

I ask where can I smoke a cigarette and they point me in the direction.

That is where I met rock my boat bebe.

I took both to the room for the discount price but half through the session I was totally into chica number two. Chica number one just sat on the other side of the room and watched.

When all else fails, try GBP. Dos chicas, un hora, 2 mil pesos, and tipping is NOT required

ahh yes GBP. Jaosousa and I went there. Actually the smoke area is down that hall you have pictured toward the rear window.

The main room couldn't be no bigger than 10 by10. One big bar and two high bar tables, also has a couch. The chics were beautiful with some kind of Hawaiian/Indian theme uniform.

Jaosousa was relaxing, as I was over whelmed. But I was quickly bought back to reality when they said 5mil tln.

Claudia is still on my mind and I shall return. The Hawaiian hula outfits. You have a good memory remembering names. Claudia, beautiful mouth, tall chica, suck your dick blowjob lips, no doubt.

Gentleman;

I have been to SD about 8 times now and never have had an issue with a policemen. Actually, they have cut many hustler and chicas (as if there is a difference) short and gotten me out of 1or 2 situations. I have paid a propina or two too set the stage for a pleasant surrounding. However, NEVER been hustled like some of you are stating. Once again, EVERY incident I have seen has been a monger showing his ass from Sosua, POP to Sdq. I'm sorry if you guys have had issue and don't doubt it but after renting cars et all never had any issues of strong arming.

GBP is the most outstanding for the dollar. It's the Target of cases. First stop of every trip from now on.. As well as a few holes in the wall on pasture. A couple don't have signs but WOW!

And what does mean that abbreviation?

Where is it? I read the reports about it, but don't find the adress.

Thank youBq Ribs has posted a series of photos of the place from the outside. Gimnasio Bar Privado (GBP). It is on Boricua Online's SDQ monger map: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&ie=UTF8&ll=18.480627,-69.965143&spn=0.009891,0.019248&z=16&msid=106767774275556555984.00046d685b11334063b43&mid=1246199584

It is a hole in the wall type of place. Nothing fancy about GBP. When you get to the door, you have to ring the doorbell and a chica will come and open the door. Above the door is a neon sign: "GBP".

The place is not the easiest to find. It is on a major street, the south side of Avenida 27 de Febrero between Avenida Lincoln and Avenida Tiradentes (depending where you are coming from, usually most guys are coming Gascue, take Ave. Lincoln north until you get to ave. 27 de febrero where you will make a right, about 3/4 of the way going east on ave. 27 de febrero before ave. tiradentes, you will see a sign for Arismendy Motors). It is on the second floor of a building that is right after Arismendy Motors. The building has round openings in the walls. There is perpendicular parking in front of the building for about 8 cars (the building has letters on the outside "Guidry" or something like that). If those spots are full, you can make a right on the small side street right after Arismendy Motors and park your car there. At the corner of the building there is a set of exterior stairs. Walk up one flight and GBP will be on the second floor, it is the first place nearest that corner of the building.

Boricua Online's google map is a great resource, he has pinned the locations of many, many places. He has included phone numbers and pricing information for some of the places.

GBP is the most outstanding for the dollar. It's the Target of cases. First stop of every trip from now on.. As well as a few holes in the wall on pasture. A couple don't have signs but WOW!You have been lucky. If you drive at night in Santo Domingo Este (Zona Oriental), the policia nacional have groups of police stopping cars on just about every major street there, Carretera Mella, Carretera Mendoza, Avenida St Vincent de Paul and Avenida Charles de Gaul. When I was stopped in Zona Oriental, for the most part the policia were polite.

My last trip, getting stopped twice in the span of about two hours on Avenida Maximo Gomez by four rude, nasty, obnoxious Policia Nacional, pissed me off. I was also about to be pulled over in Zona Colonial, late one night, I was lucky because I got to the indoor parking garage of the Hotel Palacio before the two policia on a motorcycle could get to me. I saw policia on motorcycles circling around on the Malecon and Independencia late at night. All I have ever seen them do is pull over new cars.

I could be OK with them for pulling me over for nothing. I let the cops see my license and the paperwork for the car. No drugs in my car, no guns, no smell or marijuana in my car, no smell of alcohol on my breath, no other persons in my car. Everything perfectly legal, they should say: "Have a nice day", but they don't. With a rude, threatening manner they ask the same questions over and over (Usually dark streets, one cop told me to turn off the inside light of the car after I was stopped, they have on bullet proof vests and 9 millimeter pistols at their sides and it is two police riding on one motorcycle). They are purposely trying to waste my time and [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) me off. For that reason, I have no use for them. As the other member stated, they are not interested in any legitimate law enforcement endeavor, they are out to make money and they are purposely trying to waste your time and [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140) you off. Unless you give them a tip. I have given money to the policia nacional in the past. But if I get stopped two or more times per night by different police, the cost can add up. If they are rude, then I really don't want to give them one peso.

ThanksHilton Hotel is in the Malecon Center. There is a casino next door and a mall with shops, restaurants, a few bars and movie theaters. Close to the Hilton there is a strip club with international chicas (Doll House) most with silicone tetas. I have never been in there, from what I have read, asking prices 200 US Dollars and up.

Closest thing to a disco with working girls is Coppa Disco in Hotel Melia. All types of people hang out there, except really poor folks. It is not a big place inside. Can be difficult telling who is a pro and who is a non-pro there. Coppa is open every night.

Hilton Hotel is a nice hotel, with nice rooms, most with views of the ocean. It is chica friendly for a fee. They charge extra if you bring in a chica who did not check in with you. The fee they charge is on their webpage, something around 20 dollars, last time I looked.

There are plenty of other options for pay for play chicas in Santo Domingo, besides that disco.

Any questions just ask.

I'm arriving tomorrow night but already have a GFE (novia segunda) lined up and leave for Sosua the next day. I'll be back on Sunday. Will you still be around?Would have been nice to meet you but I am out of here Saturday. That rock the boat chica has a name but I never asked. LOL I might just repeat with her so I will be sure to get a name and a few more pics.

You know how them chicas do that fast sexy dance where their pelvis moves one hundred miles an hour. GBP has these paper thin doors so you can hear the music playing at the bar area. Some song came on hot chica likes and she started dance fucking. She was worth every peso.

I did a dumb thing the other night. I let a chica use my phone to make a call. Today I went to send a SMS and a few chica phone numbers had been deleted. Just so happens the numbers that were deleted were names of chicas this chica knows. No problem though as my phone book is backed up and synced with my laptop.

So beware, always have phone numbers stored in more than one place.

The fact that you let this action occur is the more troubling of the scenario. She deserves a good tongue lashing and never to be fucked with again. I guess you never had a chica delete her photo from your camera if she didn't like the picture.

I have two cell phones in rep dom and normally never let anyone use my main phone with Orange. My second phone with Claro has just basic phone numbers saved and that is usually the one I will let the chicas use. I made a mistake, ain't my first and sure won't be my last.

A propina? That is exactly why the Policia Nacional pull people over. I don't have the trophy for the most times pulled over but I have had my share and the policia are always looking for a propina. I had one PN pull me over and told me flat out I had to pay him $100 USD for making a left turn with a right turn signal blinking. It took five minutes before he understood No Hablo Espanol and I wasn't going to pay him a dime.

The malecon has been beefed up with a few extra foot patrols and police vehicles.

Dude, I have had one licking my nipple, one sucking my dick and another waiting in a chair looking to get in on another sucking my boy off as he tried to get back in the game. My wallet has been on the bar, my iphone, passport as well with 20,000 pesos and no one touched shit. I even let one of the chicas use my iphone to call her cousin caulked full of pictures of the just finished debauchery and with a category called InflagranteD filled with 20 differing chicas I have met or intended to call while in Santo Domingo and she did nothing nor tried nothing but what I said she could do.

As for the propina for the police. I find it par for the course when dealing with Hispanics PERIOD. To tip a government official for services rendered is generally appreciated and more importantly expected. I stick to what I have seen and my previous statement. Gringos don’t generally get fugged with in this climate coming from the President especially in Santo Domingo unless they are acting arrogant.

Giving a propina for services rendered is one thing but to give a propina just because the PN decides to stop you is another. It happens a lot more than you think.

Here is a list of holidays celebrated in rep dom.
2010
1 Jan New Year's Day.
6 Jan Epiphany.
21 Jan Our Lady of Altagracia.
26 Jan Duarte's Birthday.
27 Feb Independence Day.
2 Apr Good Friday.
1 May Labour Day.
3 Jun Corpus Christi.
16 Aug Restoration Day.
24 Sep Our Lady of las Mercedes.
8 Nov Constitution Day.
25 Dec Christmas Day.

I have not seen anything special being advertised except for the usual signs posted along the road for who is playing at the clubs. Except for Christmas, New Years, and Easter I have at one time or another been in the DR on the other holidays. Restoration Day there is usually a parade down the malecon which is not bad and Independence Day is a military parade. If you miss either one you didn't miss a thing.

There are very few events in SD I would alter my travel plans for. When the Carnaval is in SD, Amusements of America comes to town, Merengue Festival in July and possibly when the circus is here are about the only things I would work my travel dates around.

At the moment they are setting up the stage in the plaza on the malecon quite possibly for some event this coming weekend. I have not made it as far as Plaza Espana so I don't know what is going on on that side of town.

I often wished there was one website you could find all the entertainment from Santos at El Base to some opera at Teatro. Wishful thinking, I know.

Maybe you were there much earlier as when I questioned if I come at 9pm for TLN would it be more and the answer was yes. GBP closes at midnight so if you do a TLN at 10pm that would be the last money they would make on that chica for the night so I guess the reason for the lower price.

When I left there were easy ten chicas there. At the front door I had to wait for this fine ass Asian/Dominican looking chica with perfect titties to put her bra on before she could unlock the front door.

GBP is a good bang for the buck even if you have to pay cab fare going and coming.

What are the other options for pay for play chicas in Santo Domingo that information will do me just.

ThanksStarting from the Hilton at the Malecon Center. You can easily get a taxi in front of the Hilton. Closest casa would probably be casa de modelos. If you are driving your own car, go west on the Malecon, at the first cross street you get to, you will see a large Isla Gas station, at night there will be chicas standing around that gas station, prices from 1000 pesos.

If you continue to go west on the Malecon you will pass Doll House on the right. At the second street from the Hilton (Avenida Alma Mater), make a right, at the next intersection make a right, that will put you on Avenida Independencia (a one way street at that location), at the next street make a left (Calle Fray Vincent Beltran), casa de modelos is located on that street close to Avenida Independencia, on the left side of Calle Fray Vincent Beltran. It looks like a normal house.

From Casa de Modelos, you can take Avenida Independencia going East. You will pass the San Geronimo Casino and the same Isla Gas Station, there will be chicas on the street there, prices 1000 pesos and up.

If you continue east on Avenida Independencia you will pass the rear of the malecon center and the hilton hotel. At night Avenida Independencia doesn't have much traffic. You will see other chicas on Independencia after Avenida Maximo Gomez. As you approach the rear entrance of the Hotel Jaragua you will we see more chicas on the streets.

The next place you can visit is Casa 305. It is on Avenida Independencia (it is on the north side of Avenida Independencia (about 300 feet east, from the corner of Avenida Pasteur). If a taxi driver does not know Bar/Casa 305, just ask for Villar Hernanos restaurant and from that restaurant you can walk to three casas (houses) with chicas. Girls House and Satin Dolls are on Avenida Pasteur just south of Avenida Independencia and Bar 305 is in that same area.

If you still want to explore, from this location you have a few options. If it is late, after midnight (12am), you can walk over to the Hotel Melia and visit Coppa Disco. If it is earlier, around 9pm or 10pm, you could take a taxi to La Parada. La Parada is on the first side street after the Hotel Jaragua (going west). Or you can go east on the malecon and visit Baby Dolls (nude dancing) or Foxys (also nude dancing).

In the daytime the options are different. There will be no chicas standing out on the streets looking for clients in the daytime.

GBP on Avenida 27 de Febrero between Lincoln and Tiradentes is a good place. You can also visit Casa Theresa on Avenida Ortega y Gasset. Near Casa Theresa is Casa Azul, on Avenida Paraguay. El Penthouse is an open air place on the roof of a building. Cats is a small place on the second floor of a plaza in the neighborhood called Naco. A-1 Divas is further west, on Avenida Nunez de Caceres. Venus de Milo, I don't know in person, looks like it could be good. Bar 360 in Zona Colonial is a small bar owned by a Canadian guy, sometimes with cute chicas.
