I respectfully disagree with your opinion. I believe there is a corelation between usage and tightness. The viginal walls tend to collapse/shrink when sex is avoided for an extended period of time. That is why Doctors always advise pregnant women to have frequent sex while pregnant, so that the walls are expanded to ease the passage of the newborn. What you perceive as being tight, might just be dry. Consider perhaps that it's more a state of arousal, and she just ain't that into you. lol. I've dated a couple women who were so wet, it felt like I was pumping air. But on a personal note, my ex, after having given birth, was not sewn up as she should have been. So, there can be medical reasons as well as "normal wear and tear." Male and female organs come in varied shapes and sizes. How does that country song go; "if my shit ain't tight enough you can stick it up my....."

Often plumper girls are surprisingly tight due to the pressure of plenty of fatty tissue in the pelvic area surrounding the vagina, whereas slender girls are often quite loose even though they may be very petite.

In late pregnancy hormones definitely affect the ability of the vagina to stretch to deliver a baby. They also make it possible for the ligaments that hold together the pelvic bones to flex.

Frequent sex tends to make the vagina more elastic, and after periods of abstinence it may be a bit less stretchy, so you have to go carefully.

You are a wealth of info unlike the other guy mentioned. I was going to SD in Sept but because of that other guy I'm heading to POP. I don't know you except to read your posts but if the other guy moves to Aruba I would make it a point to stop in SD and buy you a beer. The three times I have stayed in SD prior to going to Casa De Campo I stayed at the Napolitano Hotel. Pretty good food & overlooks the malecon with loads of action. Again don't leave just chalk it up as a young immature punk. Best piece of advice "leave the drama to the chicas"

Stick around Jas, we and the newbies need info from all seasoned mongers (whatever their personal predilictions, lol)

Not sure too many will get good advice from guys that don't handle themselves well in clubs, and cause trouble on the boards.

Leave the drama to the chicas.

It seems that there are a lot of factors influencing tightness so maybe both are right. You are right. it's not the genetics factor alone.

I got a price of $74 dollars a night at El Embajador for ten nights at the end of this month. Taxes are NOT included so total will be around 100. Only caveat is that internet is 20 bucks a day extra.

Got this package from www.booking.com

It will be my first time in Sto Domingo and plan to game mainly non-pros. Non pros online seem to have very positive reaction to this spot. The price but mainly the pool sold me. They say they have a gym and sauna but I will not get my hopes up about those facilities. I will report on that.

One question:
Does anyone know if the Claro store in the aiport is open in the evening? My flight gets in at 8pm but I need to get a sim card activated. I am sure I could buy minutes at this hour but wondered if they have people who can activate a new account. Gotta hit the ground running.

Are you saying that the rate will be $95/night ($75 + $20 internet fee)? I guess it's worth it if you need to be in a businessman's hotel.

It's only my opinion, and it depends on your goals for the trip, but I think it's best to avoid flaunting your ability to pay $50 vs. $30 or any other amount - it will cost you.

Ten nights at El Embajador chasing non-pros will probably get frustrating and boring very quickly. Just my opinion but most of the non-pros you meet online are actually pros at pretending to be non-pros.

El Embajador is far from everything most mongers go to SD for. Have fun with the non-pros but I would seriously consider hitting the casas, split your trip up with a ride to Sosua for a few days, stay at a hotel closer to Gascue.

By the time you clear customs it will be 9pm or so and I would not expect the Claro store to be open. You can always activate your phone first thing the next morning. Bring an unlocked GSM phone and you are set to go. Most of the phone stores sell cheapie phones but that is what they are, cheapie phones.

I would invest in a half way decent travel phone preferably one that can be charged from your laptop or netbook using a usb to mini or micro cable. Once your phone is activated you can add minutes using one of the many online top up services.

I have been using etopuponline but there are others. etopuponline doesn't charge a fee but their exchange rate is a peso less per $1. No big deal but the convience is worth it.

Seriously, ten days as a first trip to SD can be a bit too much.

LMAO, are you in SD now? I am and doing the usual Sunday stuff. On Sunday you either get out of town or you stay in town and use it as a very relaxing day. If you have a car Sunday is a great day to go shopping because there is virtually no traffic.

Just about all the casas are closed. Later tonight the SW will be out and about on Independencia.

Sunday is the day to use your cell phone numbers for chicas........... give a chica a call and take her to the movies.

So true, and staying in the luxury hotels only sends out a signal to the chica you can afford to pay her more.

I have posted it before but I learned my lesson the expensive way. First starting out I thought nice restaurants and nice hotels would get me better service. It does not get better service. Only thing it gets is the chica wanting to charge you more.

There will be 26% in taxes that all bigger hotels charge in Dom Rep.

Some travel sites neglect to include the taxes in the prices that they quote.

Orbitz quotes the total price per night including taxes. If I were to stay in the same hotel in Santo Domingo for more than 7 nights, on the same trip, I would book a package deal through Orbitz, airfare and hotel and use Orbitz promotion code: 200entertain to save $200 on the price of the package.

Sometimes you can get a better rate booking directly from a hotel's website. For the El Embajador that would be Occidental Hotels webpage.

26% in taxes added on the $74 rate and then another $20 for internet per day, will put the per night price over $100.

I stayed at the El Emabajador for about 5 nights a few years ago. I like the pool there, the breakfast buffet in the restaurant near the pool was good. There is a building near the pool with a gym, sauna and steam room. When I stayed at the El Embajador wifi internet was free and the signal was good throughout the hotel, in the lobby, near the pool and the 5th floor lounge area (club embajador).

There is a small charge to park your car there. When you park your car, a machine near the parking gate will give you a small plastic coin. When you are ready to exit with your car, there is a cashier window near the lobby outside, you present the small plastic coin and they know how much to charge you for parking. You will be given another plastic coin that will open the gate when you go to exit the parking lot.

You may want to ask for a room with an ocean view. The hotel grounds are nice, with many trees and plants. There are a group of small parrots that live near the hotel and you will hear them around dusk in a big tree in the front of the hotel.

$100 or more a night for a chica friendly room in SDQ, you might be better served renting a nice apartment for around $70-$80 per night.

I have met a good number of Dominican chicas online. Some are pros, some are semi-pros and some are "normal" chicas looking for a boyfriend.

One problem with booking and paying for 10 nights at the same place, is that you are locked into that place. I have in the past, had chicas show up unexpectedly at my hotel and wait in the lobby and try to catch me with other chicas. Sometimes for peace of mind it is good to move around and change hotels.

I don't know what time the Claro shop closes in the Las Americas Airport.

Any questions let us know.

Only caveat is that internet is 20 bucks a day extra.I like the hotel el embajador. There is a bar in the lobby with tables and chairs around it, they serve food and drink at the lobby bar. When I was there, I did not find the prices at the lobby bar outrageously expensive, not cheap but not outrageous.

I had no trouble bringing in chicas. I needed a good internet connection for some work related stuff that needed to be done and I was given a room on the 5th floor, which is club embajador. There was a reception desk on the 5th floor for guests staying on that floor. Sometimes the workers at the 5th floor reception asked for a chica's cedula, sometimes they didn't.

As in many SDQ bigger hotels, you have to insert your plastic room key card in a slot inside the elevator to get the elevator to go to your floor. Club Embajador is more money and I don't believe it is worth the extra money. When I stayed there, internet, breakfast buffet, snacks and coffee throughout the day, were included in the room rate. I have an ex girlfriend who works at the embajador, who I don't want to run into while I am with other chicas, otherwise I would stay more frequently at el embajador (depending what their current price is and what is included in that price).

Non-pro chicas enjoy the el embajador, most rooms have large balconies with either a view north of the city or a view south toward the water. Non-pro chicas who live in neighborhoods like herrera will be closer to the hotel emabajador. Chicas who live in zona oriental will be further away.

I read that the former dictator Trujillo had a large penthouse type apartment at the hotel el embajador, where he would entertain his girlfriends. Also, as I have posted before, parts of "Scarface" was filmed there.

Parts of the pool are about 8 feet deep and the days I used the pool, I had the pool to myself. Many newer hotels have shallow pools, which are not as good for swimming.

Any questions just fire away.

For my next trip to SDQ, I may rent an apartment in Zona Colonial and maybe get a short term membership at a gym called Body Shop Athletic in Naco. Supposedly this gym has a good sized pool.

With a favorite chica you may want to go to the beach for a weekend. In the past I paid about $70 per night at the coral costa caribe all inclusive hotel for me and a chica. Staying at an all inclusive hotel can be fun for a few nights with a chica. The all inclusive hotels are usually laid back, usually security is good, so you don't have to worry too much about crime. You wake up with the chica have sex, then go for breakfast, then maybe the pool or beach, back to the room for more sex, then lunch etc. All you can eat food, drink and sex. Not Bad.

Barcelo Cappella all inclusive in Juan Dolio is about $120 per night during the off season.

Hamaca is an all inclusive hotel in Boca Chica. Hotetur Dominican Bay is an inexpensive all inclusive in boca chica. All inclusive hotels are not chica friendly. They are good if you bring a favorite chica and check in with her. Boca Chica beach is closer to santo domingo. Juan Dolio beach is about 15 minutes past boca chica beach. Juan Dolio is a bit more tranquil than boca chica.

You may to visit Santiago for one or two nights.

Nay Coolie, you got it all wrong. First you give the store brand bread the squeeze test. If the store brand is soft enough you buy that and save a buck and a half.

I don't have deep pockets full of cash like some guys so I learned ways to save a buck here and there. If I was only doing three or four trips a year I would splurge more. I prefer to penny pinch and make ten trips a year. For the past three years I have not been away from rep dom for any period longer than six weeks.

I follow a few of my basic rules. $50 a night max for a hotel, plato del dia for lunch, stock up the frig, don't rent a car for my entire stay, find chicas outside the casas at 1500 pesos max, instead of drinking at the bars i go to the colmados to hang out.

GBP is the only casa I will go to. 1000 pesos and a phone number to hook up with after work hours.

If I stick to my simple rules at the end of an eight to ten day trip I have saved enough money to buy a plane ticket to return again.

To each his own. Some guys look at the DR as a vacation. They buy new clothes, new sneaks for the trip and spend like there is no tomorrow. I am the opposite. I come to the DR as if I am just returning to visit my second home.

Sorry Coolie I forgot to share this with you.

When buying flight tickets try to always buy from an airline that has a hub in the city closest to you. Now with the airlines merging, Star Alliance, code share and all the other programs this should be easy to do.

In my case Continental airlines has a hub in Newark, NJ (EWR). I joined their frequent flier program years ago. I fly exclusively with Continental. There are a few times when I could fly AA or Jet Blue out of a different departure city but the savings is not worth the hassle of getting to and from the airport.

Stick with one airline, get a CC with mileage rewards with that airline, grocery shop, buy online using that CC and build up points. With Continental once I fly 25,000 miles I become an Elite member............ Well what is the big deal of being Elite? Simple, 24 hrs before departure I get a free upgrade to first class if a seat is available, which it always is.

There are a lot of ways to accumulate points with the airlines. You just need to learn how to get them. Only time I fly coach is when I get a ticket using my points for a freebie ticket.

BTW been in rep dom five days so far and have not seen a drop of rain.

Buscemi was being a funny smart ass and I had to join in but with all seriousness your right that you shouldn't splurge on a broad down there Cus if they think you got money they will try to upsell the price.

I can remember just as clear as day when I first took a broad back to the villa for the first time. She was like ooh you got money and proceeded to upsell more on the price.

Mr. Ribs,
I think, as you say there are two kinds of Mongers. The ones who regard it as a vacation and can justify excess spending but saying hey it's my vacation. I used to be in that catagory when I was a working man. Two or three nice vacations a year with no real regard for the money I spent. ( I always could get plenty of overtime at the job.)
Now I am living on a fixed income and have to be a little more careful on my trips. I seem to be home a month then gone for at least that long. It is no longer a vacation but almost a second home but in different locations. I take it as a task to get top value for my dollars that I spend. Except for my first mongering trip to Costa Rica ( I will not return there) . I have never spent more than $ 50 a night for a room. I also never rent a car and I eat a lot of fruit and buy food at the supermarket.
I have met some real nice guys in my travels and when we go out and try the high end spots I then try to make up the money I spend that night later on . I am a budget monger, but with good friends I throw that out the window and party hard with no regrets. I also have met a few stiffs who are always trying to make sure they do not pay their share of the bill. They seem surprised when I refuse to go out with them the next night.
I am mostly a Colombian traveler, but I am considering a DR trip this Nov. The only problem for me is my airline is Spirit and they to not go to POP. My wingman does not like to take buses so it is a problem getting to Sosua from either SD or Santiago. Of course I could just stay in Boca Chica, but for my money Sosua rules in the DR.

There is nothing wrong with being a budget conscious traveler, but some guy's are just freeloader's who never give. Once I discover a guy is a freeloader certain rule's apply. I'm making memorie's for the old folk's home(I want to be that old man that's alway's smiling not the grouchy old man that's mad at everybody because he never did anything), so money doesn't matter as long as I enjoyed myself. A couple year's ago I was going to buy a BMW 650ci, but I said fuck that let's take a few year's and see some shit. That BMW would be paid for by now but I don't think it compare's to my expirience traveling.

One way we differ is that I alway's pay more than 50usd for a room. I have to feel secure because being victimized is not an option.

And good luck with Spirit airline's, they are to gimmicky and classless I will never fly them again.

See you in a couple week's in Medellin. Also I'm looking at Thanksgiving in Sosua.

Casa de Modelos and the Ensanche La Fe classics (Theresa/Pablitos, etc.) and several places in the Zona Oriental are all waiting for you on Sundays.Thanks.

Casa Theresa on Ave Ortega y Gasset, I know and near Casa Theresa is Casa Azul on Ave. Paraguay. Pablitos, I don't know, on what street is Pablitos?

I only found 1 casa de citas in Zona Oriental, the Mansion, which is off of Carretera Mella. I drove around Zona Oriental with two Dominican friends searching for other places. Ejecutivo I believe is east of Avenida Charles de Gaul on the service road of Las Americas highway, I have never been to Ejecutivo.

Any other casas in zona oriental that you can give information about, will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I was also told there is a somewhat famous place near casa australia, in or near villa agricolas, a runner outside bar 305 was telling me about that place one Saturday afternoon, when I was with Thirdcoast and Greek Niko.

For my next trip to SDQ, I may rent an apartment in Zona Colonial and maybe get a short term membership at a gym called Body Shop Athletic in Naco. Supposedly this gym has a good sized pool.

How much is the gym? I need to get my fat ass back in shape. Also, the main girlfriend is living too good a life with me and is getting a little soft, I need to tone her up.

I read on Dominican Today that the Body Shop Athletic gym in Naco got caught stealing electricity. There is also a Gold's Gym in SDQ. Supposedly in Zona Colonial is a basic gym that sells daily memberships. I don't know the prices yet. http://www.clubbodyshop.com/

I have seen Dominicans entering the Olympic park with workout clothes. From looking at the Google map of SDQ appears the Olympic park has a few athletic venues, maybe a pool.

Drinking lots of cerveza fattens me up and now that I quit smoking I am eating more.

Naco is a good neighborhood, might be some nice and firm chicas working out at that those gyms.

...I am mostly a Colombian traveler, but I am considering a DR trip this Nov. The only problem for me is my airline is Spirit and they to not go to POP. My wingman does not like to take buses so it is a problem getting to Sosua from either SD or Santiago. Of course I could just stay in Boca Chica, but for my money Sosua rules in the DR.
Hey Vic, how are you doing buddy? What about making that trip to DR a little bit sooner? I can't make the trip with our other friend to Colombia (Labor Day week), but I'll be flying into Santo Domingo September 17th and taking the bus to Sosua were I'll stay for 5 nights, then come back to SD for 2 nights. I'll be nice if I could see you there.

Tuesday and Wednesday departures in September, Jetblue has $69 one way fares. Total ticket price $271.

Many good all inclusive hotels are under $100 per night in September. Using 200entertain coupon code will knock $200 off a 7 night or longer package deal.

Hotel El Embajador for 7 nights, with airfare from New York, $772 (total package price which includes all taxes and fees using the Orbitz discount coupon and the Jetblue $271 flight) (departing on Wednesdays or Tuesdays in September).

$772(package price)-$271(airfare)=$501. The hotel el embajador would cost $501 for 7 nights, which is $71 per night (total price, no other taxes or fees). Good rate.

Unlike the massage parlors in Gazcue, I never heard or read about Spa Geisha getting raided or closing down. Because it was in Mirador del Sur (far from the action in Gazcue), I thought there was always the possibility that the place was still doing business (like Casa Azul).

I guess it doesn't matter. You, Jaosousa, and the gang are finding and documenting some pretty good places in the capital.

Good to hear you liked the Embajador. Cool to get the "Scarface" historical tidbit. Love dat shit. By the pics the place reminded me of the El Panama in Panama City. An old school sprawling tropical spread where the dictator and his harem hang out.

So I usually like to do about 80% NP and 20% PFP. Lima has been a fav place for being able to acheive that kind of mix. Sto Domingo seems to have similar potential. Of course, they are two completely different places which makes it fun too. Dominican chicks have bigger tits (rico!) but Lima has the better food (rico!). I have been talking to quite a few chicas the last few weeks. Following Helpmann's excellent classification scheme I have run into a few Tigres but thankfully more Gazzelle's. As he accurately observed the gazzeles tend to be the younger ones...under 20. The chicas in DR seem to quite direct for Latinas which is good...it saves time, especially with the Tigres. The Gazzelle's will use Usted with you in the first 5-10 minutes of the convo. Quite sweet. Of course, I am sure not all of them are without guile.

Thanks for the Orbitz tip. I will check that out in the future. Also, Spirit has a credit card that gives you three free flights with approval. I am waiting to hear back on that. They fly direct to Santiago as well. For this trip I used some AA miles so the flight will only cost me $75 RT from Miami.

I may head up to Santiago to check out some hotties. The girls up there seem cuter. I was at La Hamaca in Boca Chica with a cutie for Memorial Day weekend (did not go to downtown SDQ). You are right. It is a good place to take a nice girl. Plus, if she registers you get the Dominican rate even if you pay. We walked to the beach by the strip and we were almost the only tourists there so we got no peace from the plaga of vendedores and left after 20 minutes. I thought they were agressive in Cartagena. Cartagena is like f"in Scandanavia compared to Boca Chica ;-)

The hotel bar and pool at Embajador sound great. Do you know of any restaurants in walking distance from the Embajador?

I like the hotel el embajador.

The hotel bar and pool at Embajador sound great. Do you know of any restaurants in walking distance from the Embajador?Hotel El Embajador is off of Avenida Sarasota, about one block over from a major north - south street, called Avenida Churchill. Near Avenida Sarasota the street signs for Avenida Churchill will say Ave. Jimenez Moya. From the malecon up to Avenida 27 de Febrero, Avenida Churchill street signs will say Avenida Jimenez Moya. Just about every Dominican I spoke to refers to that section of street as Ave. Churchill, however, so that you don't get confused I mention that the street signs south of Avenida 27 de Febrero for Churchill will say Avenida Jimenez Moya.

Avenida Sarasota near the El Embajador is a nice two way street, two lanes each for moving traffic and there is an island separating the 4 lanes of traffic that is planted with grass and plants. El Emabajador is located on a side street about 2 1/2 blocks from Avenida Sarasota. On Avenida Sarasota there is a 3 foot hotel sign for the hotel, where you have to turn onto the side street that will take you to the entrance of the hotel.

On that side street, that will lead directly to the front of the hotel, there is a restaurant. Seems like a nice, expensive restaurant, I only saw it from the outside.

I believe there is a McDonald's restaurant near the intersection of Sarasota and Churchill (aka Ave Jimenez Moya).

When you exit El Emabajador and take the small side street to Sarasota, you can make a left or a right at Sarasota. If you go right that will take you towards Churchill. If you go left (west) you will see Hotel BQ which is on Sarasota. If you continue on Sarasota in that direction there is a a sushi restaurant on the right hand side of Sarasota, going west. Supposedly it is a good sushi place, I will have to find the name. If you continue to go west on Sarasota, at the end of Sarasota there is a shopping center.

Bella Vista Mall is near to Hotel El Emabajador. I have not been to bella vista mall.

If you are driving a car, driving south of the El Embajador can get a little confusing. There is a park south of the hotel and where the hotel sits the earth is elevated, as such there are not many cross streets that you can take north and south, between the hotel and the Sea.

Plaza Lama has a big store on the corner of Churchill and ave 27 de febrero. Acropolis Mall with Hooters and other bars/restaurants is not too far away from El Embajador Hotel. Plaza Acropolis is on Avenida Churchill north of Avenida 27 de Febrero. (Avenida 27 de Febrero is the major east-west street in the city, 6-8 lane roadway).

You really don't want to be traveling during rush hour. Traffic during rush hour on Avenida Sarasota is bumper to bumper slow.

Street chicas hang out on Ave. Sarasota near the embajador at night and sometimes on the side street in front of the hotel, as well as inside the hotel at night.

As BQ Ribs has stated you will be at least a ten minute taxi ride from Gazcue, where there are more street walkers, casas (305, piano bar, satin, girl's house) as well as Coppa Discoteca, which stays open late every night.

As Knowledge has stated, the El Embajador is a businessman's hotel, so you will encounter older guys who are in Santo Domingo on Business. I met one older American guy at the lobby bar who was in the sugar business, it was interesting talking to him. For his job he has to travel all over Latin America, he was telling me some interesting stories.

Jetset disco will be closer to El Embajador.

Boricua Online has recommended a place called the Hangar which will be closer to the El Embajador Hotel.

The disco/restaurant in a cave, Guacara Taina, will also be closer to the hotel El Embajador.

Take photos and post them here if you can, I enjoy seeing any type of photos, venues or chicas.

I never knew Nona was the word for grandma in Italian, I have an Italian restaurant near where I live with Nona in the name.

Sarasota is dark at night, the street walkers I saw on Avenida Sarasota were on the north side of Sarasota, that side has better lighting.

A SDQ chica invited me to play tennis with her and I offered to buy three new tennis balls. We went into a sporting goods store on El Conde, near calle duarte, we bought the tennis balls and while in there she asked about the different knives they had in a display case. They were mostly folding knives, some with two edges. The knives could easily be carried in a purse or in the pocket of jeans. Good advice about some Dom Rep chicas carrying knives and to be careful.

Also near the El Embajador is the Carol Morgan school, supposedly the best private school in Dom Rep. In the mornings and afternoons, rich parents can be seen near private schools dropping off or picking up their kids, usually in expensive autos.

At the end of Sarasota going west is a La Cadena Supermarket. Usually good prices for alcohol in La Cadena Supermarket. Probably a good place to stock up on stuff, that chicas may want from a hotel room's mini-bar (good tip from Boricua Online to save money), cheaper to buy mini-bar type items at the supermarket in SDQ.

Hotel Palacio:

Great hotel, the blend of ancient decor with modern decor is very unique. Friendly staff, with the owner on site. Pool and gym but I didn't indulge. Price's are 60-80usd per night. Room's are big and classy, with outstanding bathroom. Close to El conde. My favorite so far.

Hotel Mecure:

My first two time's stayed there in 07-08. Sometime's they have internet special's for 44usd. Great buffet for breakfast. Now I hear they charge 15usd for guest's. Room's are small. When I checked in first time they gave me key's to another room. The second time left my stuff in the room and went to sosua for three day's no problem. Nice balcony outside to have a drink and people watch on El Conde. But people seemed to know you were mongering. Late at night trick's linger for action. Okay but now it's played out, haven't heard anyone mention it lately Hmmm?

1- Hotel Palacio

2. Hotel Mercure

3. Napolitano HotelPalacio and Mercure are in Zona Colonial. Zona Colonial is nice during the day, but late at night Zona Colonial is like a ghost town. From Zona Colonial late at night you will have to take a taxi to find chicas or walk empty streets.

Bar 360 has chicas in Zona Colonial, but there will be a greater selection of chicas in Gazcue.

Palacio and Mercure charge extra when you bring in guests, with the extra guest fees, prices per night are from $80 to over $100.

Hotel Napolitano is closer to Ave. Pasteur than Zona Colonial, it is chica friendly, price per night approximately $70-$75.

BQ Ribs knows the area well and he has stayed in most hotels in and around Gazcue. For price and location, BQ Ribs recommends Hotel Venezia.

One hotel close to the action would be Hotel Mystik. Some guys don't like Mystik because usually there is a group of people outside who will see you whenever you enter or exit that hotel.

Several budget type hotels in Gazcue close to the action, Duque Wellington, Navarro, Maison Gatreux, Casona Dorada, Jaguar, Alcadeza (not certain if it is chica friendly).

I have never stayed at the Riazor. I have stayed at Maison Gatreux and for a budget, chica friendly hotel near the action it is OK. Navarro and Duque Wellington will have street chicas outside their front doors every night, therefore action is very close.

Venezia is a few blocks from the main action and therefore a little more quiet.

Jaguar is on a side street and thus a little more tranquil.

There will be street chicas on Ave. Independencia near hotel riazor at night.

In italian, grandmother is not Nona but Nonna.

Anyway. If they cook well, who cares?

Grazie,

I am glad you mention some of these hotels because the chica that I am coming to see out of the blue suggested these 2 hotels Hotel Palacio and Conde the Penalba with out me asking and of course I wonder why. I was considering the Riazor, but what is deal with these 2 hotels? Are they farther away from the action at night and thus that is why she said these 2 hotels? You say they charge a guest fee is that what makes it 80 to 100 a night is that included in when you check in?

I am not going to spend my whole time with her anyway so maybe I do one of these and book someone where else when I am on my own.

I stayed at the Hotel Palacio at least 15 times over the course of several trips. I checked in with a chica at the Palacio a few times and usually the price was about $100 per night. I don't really remember ever paying much less than $100 per night at Palacio. I was never charged an extra guest fee at Palacio. Koki posted somewhat recently that Palacio requested approximately 500 pesos ($13 US) when bringing in a chica after 9pm.

If you decide to stay at the Palacio and they try to give you a room to the right of the front desk, up some narrow steps, say no, the Air Conditioning in that part of the Palacio sucks.

If you want to impress a chica, Palacio is nice. Hotel Conde de Penalba seems very nice as well and room rates are under $100 per night.

At night the area around Gazcue (Avenida Independencia and Avenida Pasteur) has more chicas available for fun, than does Zona Colonial.

The beginning part of Zona Colonial (El Conde near park independence, Pacos Cafe) is about a ten minute walk from Pasteur and Independencia (Gazcue).

Hotel Palacio and hotel Conde de Penalba are in Zona Colonial and they would be about a 15-20 minute walk from Gazcue.

The DR chica who recommended hotel palacio and hotel conde de penalba, believes you are a normal nice guy tourist. Zona Colonial has more touristy things to do in the daytime than does Gazcue. There are parks, churches and museums that you can visit in Zona Colonial. In Zona Colonial there is a pedestrian only street with shops, restaurants and cafes.

The chica probably knows there are numerous pay for play chicas in Gazcue and she does not want you to be tempted by those Sirens and therefore is steering you towards staying in Zona Colonial, which is a smart move on her behalf.

Any questions just ask.

You have to get out and walk………….

During the day when chica chasing is at its lowest you need to get out and walk. There are plenty of areas to take a walk and check out the eye candy other than El Conde and the Malecon. Sure just about all of these chicas aren’t available but it doesn’t hurt to look.

Coming from Riazor walk down Independencia heading towards Parque Independencia. When you come to the fork in the road there will be a gas station. Instead of staying to the left take the right and walk down Padre Billini. Padre Billini is loaded with small comedors, small pastry shops, a couple of lavanderias, and even a small Antique Art Gallery. Most of these places are so small you will walk right past them if you don’t keep your eyes open.

There are two, three and sometimes four colmados at every intersection so plenty of places for a cold one and a rest stop. You can walk Padre Billini all the way to the end at Las Damas and make a left to end up on El Conde. If you can’t make it that far make a left at any one of the streets before Las Damas to be back on El Conde.

Another good walk is Avenida Mella. Standing at Pacos (Grands) facing Parque Independencia go to the right. Walk past Avenida Bolivar all the way to the fire house and make a right. This will put you on Avenida Mella.

Again, keep your eyes open. On the left you will see small, very small, markets selling everything from spices to live chickens. Take a walk back in this area. You can stop in the tourist trap shopping market Mercado Modello to browse a bit. Continue on Mella and you will pass many shops and the large market, La Sirena. Just past La Sirena is Avenida Duarate. Make a right on Duarate and ten minutes later you are back on El Conde. You can also go to the left and walk a bit in the SD China Town section. Good food in this area and some great bargains can be found on the smaller streets.

This third walk requires riding a publico, 20 pesos a trip. On Bolivar by Parque Independencia take a publico to Avenida Gomez. There are plenty of places to eat lunch on Gomez and check out the chicas. Walk Gomez a bit and when ready to return walk towards the sea and at Avenida Independencia you can get a publico to bring you back to Gascue or Zona.

Sure it’s a lot of walking and you will probably break out in a sweat but what better way to enjoy the day chica watching and getting last night’s Presidente and Brugal out of your system.

Please don’t limit yourselves to El Conde and the Malecon. The areas mentioned are safe as safe can be.

I have never been charged a fee for a chica at the Palacio, and I have been there at least twenty times. However, the price of a room for two is about $15 USA more than the same room for one person. Thus, it is a bit cheaper if you check in alone, and then have your girl arrive a half hour later as an unregistered guest. They will still want her to show ID, but you won't be charged.

Personally, the extra $15 isn't worth the hassle of separate arrivals, but others might feel differently.

I am fairly certain that Koki9290 made a post recently stating that Palacio requested approximately 500 pesos extra for any chicas brought in after 9pm.

I was never hit up with the extra fee when I stayed at the Hotel Palacio. Late at night the front door gate with be chained shut. The night watchman, who carries a pistol, will open the door for you, if you arrive late.

At least one time, I couldn't get my car out of the parking lot, because some other guest parked their car behind my car and blocked me in.

For a guy who wants a hotel that will impress a chica the Palacio is good.

I will never stay at the Palacio again. I met the German owner of Palacio, very nice guy named George, but he is not at the hotel every day. The German manager of Hotel Palacio, will not go out of his way to be friendly. One female who works behind the front desk at the Palacio, I can't stand her.

I had my fun at Palacio, I have found other places to stay, other hotels and apartments.

I found a chica renting a room in her home in Santiago, good neighborhood for $20 per night.

Has anyone used GPS to take them around the Dominican Republic. I am planning a trip, I would like to know if it is reliable to use GPS to travel from Las Americas Int. Airport to towns such as San Cristobal and Bani. I am prepared for the crazy driving conditions/lack of developed world driving standards and regulations. My big concern is not getting lost going from the airport to San Cristobal.

Thanks,

2009 was my first trip to SDQ and we (7 guys) stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel. Did some free lance mongering the first night. The following night the hotel doorman recommended Sky High (name may have changed) which was around the corner. I'm pretty picky when it comes to body and looks and this place had plenty to choose from. On a Friday night, we negotiated an overnight price of $150 USA The chicas left the next day at about noon. We exchanged phone numbers and they returned the same day at about 7pm. Long story short, the chicas hungout with us the entire weekend, they brought drinks and we had a private party in our hotel suite. No additional cost except food from room service.

The guys and I are planning a return trip Feb 2011 but were thinking about renting a villa in Juan Dolio and bringing the chicas to us.

I know things can change in 2 years. Has anyone had any luck with something similar? Know of any action near juan Dolio? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

TavernSan Cristobal is very easy to get to from Las Americas airport. Follow the signs for Santo Domingo from the airport. You will be on Las Americas highway heading west, towards Santo Domingo. Stay on that highway, eventually you will cross the Juan Bosch Bridge (big, modern, white bridge). After the bridge stay straight on Avenida 27 de Febrero, you can take the elevated, express part of Avenida 27 de Febrero after the bridge. Just go straight.

Eventually you will get to a big round about of about 4 lanes in the road, that is plaza banderas. Near Plaza Banderas is a highway for san cristobal.

The other route you can take to San Cristobal is by taking the Malecon (Avenida George Washington) west from Santo Domingo and just go straight and west on the Malecon and you will pass Ciudad de Amor, Haina and that road will lead to San Cristobal.

Other members on this board are much more familiar with the trip between Santo Domingo and San Cristobal and Bani. I did the trip to San Cristobal one time.

Another member posted information regarding maps he bought for his GPS for rep dom.

I have been informed that GPS works well in Dom Rep. I have not used GPS yet.

Sky House on Avenida Pasteur between the Malecon and Avenida Independencia and around the corner from Intercontinental V Centenario is closed. The owner of sky house bought a house next door to where sky house used to be and remodeled the house and moved the business into that house. The new business is is called Satin. Next door to Satin is Girl's House.

Continuing up Avenida Pasteur to the next street, Avenida Independencia, make a right on Independencia, cross over to the north side of Independencia and about 100 feet from Avenida Pasteur, you will find bar 305.

Bar 305 is the newest brothel in Santo Domingo, owned by a Cuban family. The chicas live in the house and you take them to your hotel to enjoy their services.

Some of the more popular chicas from other brothels are now working in 305.

Casa de citas or Casas is the Spanish way of saying brothel.

Juan Dolio has 3-4 brothels. Showgirls, El Caucho, Caprichios and V.I.P.

Prices always vary.

There are freelance chicas in Juan Dolio.

From your post appears you want to rent a villa in Juan Dolio for approximately 7 guys and get some chicas to spend the weekend there.

Chica prices in Santo Domingo start at 500 pesos (about $13 US).

7 clients with a good budget, I believe you could make a deal with the owner of a casa for a decent weekend rate or a good 24 hour rate.

Intercontinental Hotel is not chica friendly, to get 7 working girls into a Santo Domingo non-friendly hotel, (Jaragua, Melia, Intercontinental) will take some bribing of hotel workers, which will increase the price of the vacation.

Many of the Villa rentals in Juan Dolio are in the gated complexes of Metro and Guavaberry. Working girls who show up on motorcycles at the front gate of the complex, probably will not be allowed entry. To get working girls into those complexes they will probably have to be in your car and enter the complex while in your car.

I am not familiar with many villa rentals that are not in gated complexes, I have never looked for villa rentals in Juan Dolio. There are some very high end condominium rentals in Juan Dolio.

There are plenty of chicas in Santo Domingo, Boca Chica and Juan Dolio who would want to make money and spend a weekend in a villa in Juan Dolio. Juan Dolio has a nice beach and two golf courses.

There are some nice villas for rent in Guavaberry and Metro.

For how many nights are you planning for in Dom Rep?

On my last trip to the DR I purchased and installed maps on my Garmin GPS. The turn by turn direction were mostly excellent and kept me from going the wrong way down one way streets and ect. Took a wrong turn in Nauga and the GPS got me right back to where I needed to be. Did not drive in SD but I assume the results will be just as good. I suppose you can also rent a GPS along with the car but I was able to map out all of my routes in advance and save locations to my GPS for future reference.

I bought my maps from here. http://www.gpstravelmaps.com/dominican_republic.php

Hope this helps.

Like Jao, I have stayed at Palacio many times over the years. But I have moved onto other places because I like walking around at night and that area is pretty dead at night.

I had a novia with me in July and stopped by the hotel to see if I could get a deal as some of the staff know me. That was when they informed me of the chica charge because my wingman was solo. I guess the best way is to take a room for two and then if a chica spends the night, she gets breakfast.

By the way, they had a really good looking chica behind the desk that day. She was tall and thin but shapely. She appeared to be in training.

The place (as of last week) is called Sky High and was open. Mystik, Girls House, Satin Dolls, and Sky High all open. I had to look twice because Sky House is often mentioned but it is really Sky High, not that it makes a difference.Where sky house used to be, it is now called sky high? That would mean coming from the direction of the malecon walking towards independencia, would be sky high (formerly sky house) then Satin (formerly an empty house) then Girl's House, then Mystik hotel?

Another casa on Pasteur, good. Sky house needed a remodel, the furniture in sky house was from the 1950's. The small back yard bar at Sky House was nice.

The owner of sky house brought the fish from the large tanks that used to be in sky house over to Satin.

PM Me.The company that owns Mercure appears to own the Nicholas Ovando Hotel and the Hotel Frances in Zona Colonial, Santo Domingo. Not sure if your Mercure discount can be used at these other hotels.

The Nicholas Ovando Hotel is usually one of the more expensive hotels in Santo Domingo, with a discount, could be a good opportunity to visit it.

My question is what is the general rate for lets say an above average girl in the city and I know it depends on where you are getting them from, but I just want a general idea. What is the going rate for lets say an overnight stay with an average and above average girl there?

What I mean above average is a pretty hot girl, but she does not have to be the knockout type because In my exp the knockouts do not deliver as well although there have been exeptions to this for me.

In New York the prices can range from $10 (crack head on the street) to over $10,000 from a high class escort service.

The economy stinks all over the world, tourism is down. Europeans are not traveling to the Caribbean like they did before. Also if you travel during the off season, September, October, November, May and June, there are less tourists in DR and some chicas will lower their price (supply and demand).

Guys who speak Spanish usually can negotiate a better price.

From your post appears you might be traveling with a group of 6 other guys. Each guy has a different taste in women. Many guys on this board will suggest doing a chica for a short term session before committing to an all nighter.

If you will be staying in Juan Dolio and want to get the chicas from Santo Domingo to take back with you to Juan Dolio, that scenario makes things a little complicated.

When I was in Showgirls in Juan Dolio, there were at least 3 pretty chicas. They dance nude, on an elevated stage, which is nice, because you can see if they have any c-section scars etc.

Caprichios in Juan Dolio had about two above average chicas. El Caucho in Juan Dolio has some pretty chicas and there is also VIP in Juan Dolio.

Maybe you and your friends want a long weekend together in a villa near the beach. I once traveled to Sosua with 6 other guys and we rented a van to drive around.

If your mind is set on Juan Dolio, you could rent a villa there, check out the places I mentioned, I am sure a few of the guys will find something they like. If you can't find chicas you like in Juan Dolio, then you could drive over to Boca Chica, less then 15 minutes away from Juan Dolio and check out the chicas in Boca Chica.

If you can't find anything you like in Juan Dolio or Boca Chica then the next stops would be Pacos (near the airport) after Pacos going towards Santo Domingo when coming from the direction of Boca Chica, would be Grand Paradise Massage Center.

After Grand Paradise Massage you could get off Las Americas Highway at Avenida Charles de Gaul and visit Eagle Sports Bar to check out some big ass waitresses in small uniforms. From Eagle you could take Avenida Espana and stop off at La Base to see some more sexy waitresses.

From Le Base on Avenida Espana take the Pontoon Bridge to the Malecon, next places would be Foxys and Baby Dolls on the Malecon. After those two places, drive less than 5 minutes on the malecon to Avenida Pasteur and visit, Satin, Girls House, then 305, then Piano Bar. Depending what time it is you could go to coppa disco on the malecon in the hotel melia (higher price working girls hang out at Coppa). There are other places in Santo Domingo to find chicas. There will be chicas walking the streets on Independencia near Avenida Pasteur.

The only problem is that when you hang out in Santo Domingo and your villa is in Juan Dolio, you will have about an hour drive from Santo Domingo to get back to Juan Dolio and getting 6 other guys to agree to travel back to Juan Dolio at a certain time could be difficult.

There might be some homes for rent in Santo Domingo. If you and your friends want to Party and see as many chicas as possible, might be best to stay in Santo Domingo (guys could easily take taxis from different venues to get back home). If you and your friends want to mix a beach vacation (golf, beach etc) with mongering related activities, then Juan Dolio could be OK.

The easiest mongering scene is Sosua.

I personally prefer the South Coast; Santo Domingo, Juan Dolio, San Pedro de Marcoris. For me after 20 trips to Dom Rep, I have a comfort zone in Santo Domingo and it is a big city with a diversity of chicas.

Any questions fire away.

I apologize, I thought you had asked about Juan Dolio before (that was Biceps1963).

From your post you will be staying in Santo Domingo. Street chica prices are around 1,000 pesos for a few hours. Casa chicas you should try to get for 2500 pesos for two hours. Some places will quote you 3,500 or 3,000 for 2 hours, I would try to negotiate that down.

Some GBP chicas can meet you after work or on Sunday, short term stay about 1500 pesos.

Some chicas in Coppa will ask for $100 US or $150 or 4,000 pesos. When I start hearing those prices I walk away.

If you can spend some time with the chica before you take her out and ask questions to determine what she is willing to do, is better.

I paid 2,500 for a casa chica and she stayed with me for more than 8 hours. Each casa is different, each chica is different. Sometimes you may chose the wrong chica and it turns out to be a waste of time and money, it happens, don't let a bad experience get you down. There are plenty of good service chicas who don't cost an arm and a leg in Santo Domingo.

If you speak a little Spanish it will be useful.

GBP has the two chica special, on site.

There are many places in Santo Domingo where you can encounter chicas, Brothels, Malls, Bars, Discos.

I see where the starting rate is around 500 pesos in Santo Domingo and of course like The USA, Brazil it can vary.

The short answer is 2,500 pesos ($69 US) and up.Usually about 2,500 and up for casa chicas. Street chicas and freelancers you can negotiate a better price. You can try to negotiate a better price for a casa chica.

Last one I paid 2000 and she stayed from 5 am to 2 pm. I had things to do and had to kick her out.

Sorry but there is nothing, absolutely nothing in SD like Classicos. If you vision SD to be anything like Sosua you are in for a really big surprise.

Santo Domingo is the capital of rep dom and a large city without a beach. You won't find a thing in SD that will remind you of Sosua other than the chicas.

Don't get me wrong because SD is my favorite city but if you are a Sosua lover you may not enjoy SD.

I have yet to find a bar in SD with freelance chicas.

I see you knjow your way around and I am on my way to SD and want to stay near someplace like Classicos in Sosua.Sosua is a small beach town with Classicos being the main pickup spot after 11pm.

Santo Domingo has at about 20 named neighborhoods. An older neighborhood called Gazcue is where a lot of the mongering occurs in Santo Domingo.

Gazcue, Santo Domingo has a mix of things going on. There are three large waterfront, non-chica friendly hotels with casinos in Gazcue. There are many medical offices including plastic surgeons with their offices in Gazcue. The ruling political party has their main headquarters in Gazcue, also the Communist party has a building in Gazcue.

There are at least 7 smaller chica friendly hotels in Gazcue that range in price from $40-$75 US.

In Gazcue there at least 4 places that have chicas for p4p. Starting around 7 or 8 pm at night, streetwalkers start showing up on one of the main streets in Gazcue, Avenida Independencia.

The area around Avenida Independencia and Avenida Pasteur is somewhat similar to Sosua in that there is a high concentration of working girls in this area. Unlike Sosua, there are many normal Dominicans in that area during the day and early evenings.

Some street chicas will take 500 pesos, others will take 1000 to 1500 pesos. There are groups of chicas looking for clients from 7-8pm on Avenida Independencia near Avenida Pasteur, until 4-5am.

On Avenida Pasteur between the malecon and Avenida Independencia there are two casa with chicas (possibly a third casa), Girl's House and Satin, each house has between 10-20 chicas, prices 2500 pesos and up. Half a block from Girl's House is bar 305, the newest brothel in Santo Domingo, girls live in the house, over 20 chicas in bar 305.

On Pasteur north of Independencia, Piano Bar, prices from 1500 pesos. Happy ending massage place open during the day on calle cervantes one block north of Independencia, price around 1300 pesos.

Lapsus is some type of strip club on Independencia.

From Independencia and Pasteur you could walk to Hotel Melia and Coppa Disco in less than 5 minutes. Pros hang out at Coppa Discoteca and inside the casino and outside the Hotel Melia, also next door at the Hotel Renaissance Jaragua and Casino.

The nice thing about Santo Domingo, is that the population is much greater than Sosua. Sosua has mostly working girls. In Santo Domingo you will see working girls and normal women.

Hotel Mystik about $50 US is next door to Girl's House on Avenida Pasteur. Hotel Riazor about $70 US is on Avenida Independencia within 3-4 blocks of the action. Hotel Navarro is on Avenida Independencia, about $40 per night (not sure if the rooms have safes), there will be working girls outside the Navarro every night and some chicas who work at Foxys strip club live at the Navarro. Next door to Navarro is Hotel Duque Wellington, about $45 per night, not sure if the rooms in Duque Wellington have safes. Across the street from Hotel Navarro is Casona Dorada Hotel, price about $45, if you stay at the casona dorada ask for a room with a safe or put your valuables in the lock box in the office.

Half a block from Navarro on a side street closer to the water is Hotel Maison Gatreux for about $45 per night, small basic rooms with good air conditioning and good security.

Two blocks from Hotel Riazor on a side street is Jaguar Hotel, a favorite of several guys from this board.

About two blocks from Navarro on Independencia is Hotel Venezia, a nice, quiet, clean, hotel with a secure parking lot, price about $45 per night.

If you go to Santo Domingo you will have fun. There are numerous places in Santo Domingo where you can meet chicas. Gazcue the area around Avenida Pasteur and Avenida Independencia is a good place for mongering.

I have been to numerous pay for play places in Santo Domingo, but I have not been to all of them yet. I have not been to Venus de Milo and I have not been to Dream House near Avenida Churchill.

Any questions just ask. There are numerous guys on this board who know Santo Domingo, Boca Chica and Juan Dolio very well.

Yes, La Base is not a P4P location but me and my cousin do OK in general in nonpro places such as La Base.

We had a couple great visits to Teleorferta, we love to dance, have balls, and fluent in Spanish. Hell not a boast I feel anyone speaking Spanish can do it. Just a couple Puertoricans from Chicago.

you forgot to add young, good looking, and money in your pocket. lol hell not to boast but i do pretty good with the pros being old, ugly, and money in my pocket. on a serious note santo domingo is a fun city for all peoples.

you guys would probably make out great hanging at some of the larger colmodas rep001tered about the city. i noticed one one avenida duarate just above avenida mexico one weekend night that had a really nice large crowd. in my travels throughout the city i have seen a dozen or more. maybe a reliable taxi driver can show you the best colmados on your next trip.

i know it is a little late now but maybe for your next trip you guys should try avenida tiradentes between 27 and jfk. i walked that stretch one night coming back from a baseball game. there was a "liquors 2 go", a hamburger joint, and quite a few establishments with small groups of chicas (all non-pro) just hanging out having a good weekend night. these were your jeepeta driving chicas, not the publico riding chicas.

I agree with you on the avenedia independencia SWs. There are some really nice chicas mixed in that bunch. You just need to take your time and scout them out. What makes them great is they do very little business so most won't hesitate at un mil.

I would agree with you. I see a big difference in the chicas guys are pulling who can speak fluent Spanish. I have finally learned enough words to just about make sense when speaking. Just with the little I know it has made a difference when it comes to just BSing with the chicas. Most chicas find it pleasing that I am at least trying to learn their language.

OK, The first evening before checking into the Hotel Jaguar which is the same hotel we stayed this last trip, we stopped at a Domincan barrio bar. After a couple of drinks and not paying attention I tripped on the curb. Needed 7 stitches in my forehead, 12 in my leg, one eye half closed and blackened, the other eye had a mouse (sp?) under it. I also had several facial cuts. That did not stop me from having a good time although I was a mess.
Being a former amateur boxer the beating was not the first one but at my age its not good and hopefully won't happen again.

Regarding restaurants I stayed with typical Dominican food which I enjoy.

Wow, you took some fall. Were you drinking Brugal? Did you fail to pour some Brugal on the ground after opening the bottle "para los muertos"? If so maybe the spirts came to get even with you.

How was the medical treatment you received. I have read SD has some great hospitals. I often wonder what might happen should I need medical assistance while in rep dom. Do you remember what your doctor bill was? How did you know what hospital to go to?

Typical Dominican food is good but I can only take so many meals of rice & beans. I usually get the plato del dia a few times but they just give me more rice than I can get. I don't complain because for less than $3.00 you can't beat it. There are a few lechernos(sp) a few blocks from parque independencia. I really like their roasted pig (cerdo asado?).

I hope to meet up with you one trip. You sound like a fun guy to hang out with.

Ya I really did a number on myself but amazingly the only pain I had was in the lat muscle on my left side which only hurt when I got up from bed or a chair for about 2 weeks. I also got an infection in my leg that was stitched when I got home and that was because I wanted to drink so I did not take my antibotics like I was supposed to. What the hell I wanted to enjoy DR, at my age I don't know how much time I've got to do these things although I'm still in good shape.

I'll continue my drink of choice is Gin with orange juice.

I would rather not say where my treatment took place as the young female doctor that stitched me and I have a " friendship " thing going. My cousin has one with the receptionist. The entire experience at the clinic was really good. The young doctor had a technician do 5 x-rays on me. They would not take my Med card but the entire cost was only $ 200. I finally got around to sending the bill to my insurance co. Of course this was an emergency but base on my experience I would recommend their care if need.

I like (Lechon ) cerdo asado also.

As of now I plan to go down again in Nov. around Thankgiving. I first went to SD long before a lot of guys on this board were born, 1967.

On another note if any of you guys go to Medellin Colombia one the owners of the Mansion and the Castillo, Robert a follow Puertorican from Chicago and a friend asks when I'm coming down I've yet to do that but it looks like its a fun time. I think he is tired of me not showing but I will someday

I just want to say that we ISG members go there for our reasons, however not all the girls are putas although sometimes it may seem that way. In 1980 I married a Dominican, prior to our wedding we were chaperoned all the time up to the night before the ceremony. It only lasted a few years but it was my fault for the failure not hers. You don't have to tell me. I get out and about in rep dom and I know there are some very, very nice chicas in that country. I was fooled my first few trips to rep dom because I started out in Sosua. I was told by other mongers the entire country was like Sosua. Little did I know they had never been anywhere else.

One day I just got tired of the Sosua scene and ventured out. Hitting Santo Domingo was one of the best things I have ever done. I enjoy myself in Santo Domingo doing non-puta chasing stuff as much and sometimes more than chasing the chicas.

One of the main reasons I like to post different things to do during down time is because Santo Domingo is a great city just to have a nice time.

An economic fact about the Metro: A trip cost 20 pesos (or a similar price); it cost the government 178 pesos per passenger to subsidize the cost of the Metro. Do the math: it cost less to the goverment to pay a taxi ride to any individual than to subsidize the metro.

I can answer your question, my first travel was in 1998. Cost of airfare from Puerto Rico was $69 round trip, it now costs over $200.

A taxi to the city was $25, now, thanks to the forum and my research work I pay $20.

The airport was ugly, no computers, no a/c, now it is relatively modern and confortable.

Chica cost has not changed, you can get the same range of prices that were quoted a dozen years ago.

Total taxes were 16% versus 26% today.

Beer prices has gone up because of taxes but you can still get cheap beer.

Elegant Center was the place to go on Pasteur, rooms on site, sex on massage tables, girls had to be careful not to fall to the floor. Very nice place. It is Sky High now. A little south to malecon was El Cisne. Lapsus has always been there, nice strip show on midnight, I do not know if they still do the show. 52 or Yellow house was almost in front of Jaguar Hotel. Cost was $40. Remington Palace, the place to go on mid 2000's, cost near $50, up to 4 hours, located near Isla Gas Station on Independencia. Casa Teresa, Pablitos (Azul), Modelos were there. Jaragua chicas were on the left area of Merengue bar, now are spread over the casino. Herminias , the most famous SD brothel ever was closed in 1998, Le Petit Chateau in malecon closed a decade ago. It was easier to find girls while walking by the malecon.

Lot of chimis and sandwich carts on malecon, cold cheap beer.

On year 2006 the sales of ham and cheese sandwiches, balloons and wooden parrots increased 1700%.

Ah Casa Herminias, started going there in 1967. Loved it

Come on now, I only bought one parrot. I can confirm the sandwiches and balloons increase in sales. LOL You need to be on stage with your comedy act.

I have seen the word chimis used before but my Spanish dictionary doesn't have a meaning. So xactly what is chimis?

Perhaps you could give the chicas a menu with specials, a Chimi is a Dominican hamburger, aka Chimichurri, Aunt Clara has a great recipe for them if you so
choose to expand the kitchen. According to Aunt Clara, the name was borrowed from The Argentinian sauce of the same name , but has nothing in common!

From Dominican Today:

If there's one place that every single Dominican go out to eat at (or take away) regardless of their social status, skin color, beliefs (political, religious and baseball) and where they live, it has got to be the chimi stand.

Chimi is short for chimichurri (not to be confused with the Argentinian sauce). A chimichurri is simply a hamburger "the Dominican way": beef patty, boiled cabbage, onions, tomato, ketchup (called cachú here), mayo, mustard and tabasco sauce, but you can choose which ingredients you want out (I don't eat it with mustard, tabasco or onions). The vendors make the hamburger in front of your eyes, and to me what the experience is all about is to sit down at the stand and eat the burger there, as chimis will always have plastic chairs and sometimes tables available.

They also offer hot dogs: sausage, boiled cabbage, mustard, mayo, ketchup, pork meat or ground beef and corn; and pork leg meat sandwich: they buy a pork leg and fry the meat in front of you, then they have the same "accessories" as the chimi.

The chimi stands are usually in front or next to a colmado, to provide with the material that runs out or to buy beers or drinks, and always on the street. They're usually very clean and everything is boiled or fried, so they're usually very safe to eat, but the fact that they're cooking in an open grill and the food gets an "exhaust gas dressing" might put some people out. Because it is street food I suggest you take the necessary precautions to avoid diarrhea or something worse.

Got cha, funny thing I have never seen the word Chimi on a menu. I have seen hamburgesa but not chimi. As you know my favorite spot in the New Jersey Parrillada just up the street from the new plaza on the malecon. Would this also be considered a "chimi" stand?

One thing I gave up on is telling them what to put on my sandwich. They will slap that mustard, mayo, ketchup, etc. on your sandwich quicker than a blink of the eye. Once you get used to all the condiments the sandwices really taste good. No need telling them hold the mayo cause they won't listen or they will give you a look like are you crazy.

What's with the beef in the DR? I have yet to have a burger that tasted anything like a good ole USA burger. Last trip I had a plato del dia with meatballs. To this very day I am still not sure if that was ground beef or something else.

My vote for the best "chimi" stand in the Gazcue area.

Have any of you guys got sick at those food stalls/stands ?

By the way for some good fun try some of the towns around DR especially if you have some Spanish skills. We hit San Cristobal and Bani we are surely going back to both on our next trip. The problem is that in my experience the 3rd date is the charm with nonpros in those towns but that is time consuming.

YMV who knows.

Well, I am just now getting over the worst food poisoning of my life here in the DR. I was so sick I had to cancel my flight home,I hope to have the strength to rebook my flight tomorrow. Not sure where exactly I got it from as I was bouncing between Sosua,POP and Costambar.

What the hell I wanted to enjoy DR, at my age I don't know how much time I've got to do these things although I'm still in good shape.I saw you after that accident while you were sitting in Eagle Sports Bar. I saw the bandages, good to see that you recovered without any serious damage.

I've been to DR more than 20 times in the last 2 years and am very comfortable traveling of the beaten path. I love going to the Rio and the Beaches were tourists don't go.

The last time I was down I went to Nizao and at the end of the main street is a bridge over the river Nizao, next to the river on either side are bars that serve cheap cold beer and frituras that sell all that fried goodness.

So I take one of my girlfriends and go down river, a lot less people, we go for a dip and start a little action in the water. This girl is up for anything. The funniest thing happened, when I finished my leche was coming out of her and all the little fish in the river starting eating it and going between her thighs to get more, she was freaking out. The little fish don't hurt but startled both of us on the amount of fish and their little nibbles everywhere to eat that protien.

Yes I've not had any problems due to accident but my doctor back home was furious with me for not taking my medications and thus the infection. Hey fuck it I wanted to drink but won't due that again as it took 3 weeks for me to recover from the infection, I'm a slow healer. You can miss Tele Oferta it is on Maximo Gomez just north of Avenida 27 de Febrero. We went there last friday and sunday. Actually on sunday we first went to Venezuela I can't remember the name of place but it was a wooden structure 2 floors, wall to wall with Dominicans we had a great time. Nobody gave me a second look although I'm half P-Rican but look totally gringo has you may have noticed.

I have driven by at least one location, seems like it was near some parking lot, probably north of 27 de febrero, on a major north-south street and I saw a large group of young Dominicans partying on the sidewalk with guys and girls hanging around their motor vehicles.

I stopped one night at a Colmado at the Intersection of Carretera Mella and Avenida Charles de Gaul and there was a large group of people hanging out near that intersection.

I was at eagles once with 2 chicas, the waitress are pretty hot. I don't remember the location can anyone provide?Very easy to get to, take Avenida Espana (Pontoon bridge from the Malecon), go in the direction of the airport. At the end of Avenida Espana when going east, don't get on las americas highway, go towards your left and there will be an overpass that goes above las americas highway, that will be avenida charles de gaul, you will travel north on Avenida Charles de Gaul for about 5-7 minutes and you will get to a busy intersection, the cross street is Carretera San Isidro. If you make a right from Charles de Gaul onto san isidro you will see at least 10 cabanas.

Eagle Sports is to the left of charles de gaul when driving north at that intersection.

The times I drove I couldn't make a left on San Isidro, so I continued up ave. charles de gaul and made a u turn and then drove back to san isidro and made a right. Eagle is 10 seconds from Avenida Charles de Gaul on san isidro.

Might be easier to make a right on San Isidro from charles de gaul, when coming from avenida espana and then make a u turn on san isidro to get to the Eagle (I believe making a u turn on san isidro will be easier).

Making a u turn on Avenida Charles de Gaul soon after carretera san isidro is not easiest thing to do.

Yes that is the name of the place on Venezuela. Actually a new found Dominican friend took us there. It seems to me that on the weekends there are many areas were large groups of folks get together for fun. Above a 1/2 mile west of The Eagle bar on San Isidro on Sunday evening there was a large group of young people hanging out on the sidewalk and in a colmado. This was on the northside of the avenida. We stopped there just to have a look, many many hot chicas. The guys and chicas were very friendly in a social way and seemed to be surprised that we had the balls to stop and talk to them. Man if I were 30 years younger I'd be trying to hit on a least 2 dozen chicas that I saw. I still might try next trip, who knows.

Forgot, on the road toward San Cristobal along the shore about 2 miles before the motels a chica from San Cristobal I met through LatinEuro took us to meet some of her friends who hangout along that section of the road. She is no young chicken but hot in my eyes.

We also stopped at the Copa disco, many putas at about 3 AM but the kids and guys in front of the joint are a big pain in the ass.

I've had reasonably good success with LatinEuro, I tell them the ladies what to expect and most decline but some even jovencitas say no problema. The thing is I've yet to get laid, it takes time so I not going that route again.

That has been my concern with the online chica sites. I am not interested in meeting someone and have to take them on a date several times before I get in their panties. If I just want a chica for a "date" I can use one of the SWs, casa chica, or a puta I met somewhere else. At least this way I know there won't be any problem hitting la cama later on that night.

I have taken several working girls on regular "dates" and they really enjoy a nice evening out for a change. Plenty, if not all, of them chicas hang around for hours and hours doing nothing but wishing for a pickup. They would rather be doing something enjoyable than sitting and waiting.

A good screening before trip increases your chances in the city with the internet girls. Se habla Español.

For somone who speaks fluent Spanish and willing to invest the time it may very well work out. I would think for the vast majority on this board it is not a feasible option. You must admit the guys meeting chicas online still end up at the casas or with the SWs most of their time while in SD.

Just my opinion but I think the online chicas are still putas. Only difference they are waiting for their payment on a later day down the road.

Just for the record when I use the word puta I don't mean it in a derogatory manner. I guess a working girl would be better and reserve puta for the hard core chicas.

You should give it a try. Like BoricuaOnline screens the internet chicas you just need to screen the SWs. I find the SWs easier to take on a regular date because they aren't bound to be at the casa at certain hours. Most casa chicas won't be available until midnight. The free lance chicas will be more than glad to meet you at 9pm to go to the movies. Most of these chicas get tickled pink they are going on a "date".

One of my funniest moments I picked up a working girl to take to the beach one day. I pick her, her daughter and a few of her nieces and nephews up. Everyone piles in the car and as I am driving down the highway I look in the rear view mirror and somehow her mother was in the back seat.

That is the mother on the left and my working girl friend on the right. Yes, before you ask that is a balloon in the picture. I am known to travel with a few hundred balloons every trip. You want to see a kid smile? Break out a bag of balloons, blow them up and start balloon twisting. I can't speak fluent Spanish but the balloons work as a great ice breaker.

Hotel Doña Elvira in Zona Colonial has a pool. This hotel is located on a quiet street. The pool is in a courtyard in the middle of the hotel, there is a large tree near the pool and there is some netting above the pool to keep the fruit from the tree from falling into the water. Hotel Palacio has a small pool but it is nice, and the 5 or so times i've spent there the only people in the pool were me and my guests.

It's pricier then other hotels around, but is very nice.

I had sex in the pool once and got busted by security (I did not notice the cameras), but they were discreet, the guard told me the pool was closing and we need to leave.

for those looking for things to do in zona colonial the following website is a good source of information http://www.dr1guide.com/

the following information is from http://www.colonialzone-dr.com/transportation2.html colonialzone-dr has a lot of helpful info from movie theater links, restaurants, to hotels, and so much more.

metro de santo domingo, república dominicana/ the santo domingo metro
trains run from 6am to 10pm daily. the entire ride takes about 20 minutes from the beginning to the end of the line.

the newest addition to public mass transit system in santo domingo, dominican republic is the metro. it is our very own subway system inaugurated january 2009. there are 16 stops along the route of which six are elevated and ten are underground. it has 19 three-car trains traveling at maximum speed of 100 miles per hour along the 14.5 km/ 9.6-mile line.

this subway was the idea of president leonel fernández to help with the heavy traffic and road congestion. the building of the metro was very controversial at first but when it was finished being built and ready for use the dominican people flocked to the opening. taking the ride from the lst stop in villa mella to the last in la feria. there are five more lines in the planning with the second line under construction now (2009)

all in all the trains seem to be running smoothly. they are very clean, quiet, fast and very organized. a ride costs $20 pesos for a 1-way trip. they sell a metro card/ tarjeta metrocard that you can add money to use for fast entry or you can pay per ride at the fast moving ticket windows.

......Jet Blue with the TV's is the best. I do not know why more airlines do not do the same thing. It makes the time pass by much faster...........
What's with the TVs? Don't all airlines have TVs or you mean you like the individual TVs? Does JetBlue charge for the TV.

Yeah each seat has its own TV with 50 direct tv channels. You find a good show or game and your at you're destination before you know it.

There is even a channel to see exactly where your flight is.

I had a promotional upgrade so it was free. But they charge a fee normally.

what's with the tvs? don't all airlines have tvs or you mean you like the individual tvs? does jetblue charge for the tv.jetblue has fairly new airplanes, all seats are covered in leather and jetblue has the most legroom because they configured the seats so that they would not be over a certain passenger seat limit, that would require an additional crew member.

behind each seat there is a small television screen. while the airplane is in us airspace you can watch espn and other cable television channels. each flight for the dominican republic from new york, they offer two movies free of charge.

they also have a channel that shows the the airplane's altitude, speed and location over a map. they also have sirius/xm radio channels free of charge.

the first four rows of seats and the two rows near the emergency exits offer more legroom, those seats can be reserved for an additional $40 each way when traveling from or to new york (for dr flights).

the last 10-15 trips to dr, i have flown jetblue, flights usually leave on time and many times arrive earlier than the scheduled time.

jetblue airplanes have no first class or business class, all the seats are the same size, first 4 rows and two rows near the emergency exits have more legroom.

I have considered such a plan. Please let me know when you teach this class, as I would like to audit it. The mothers of some of these girls are not bad either. After all, a 23 year old in the DR may have a mother of 39 or so. Both would be fair game, if I could pull it off. :) Better yet, can you image a girl of 18 with a mother of 34 and a grandmother of 50. This would be a logistical feat.

jet blue has an individual tv in the back part of every seat. controls are in the left or right arm of your seat, an earphone is provided. there is a channel where you can see the plane route, altitude, flying speed and your credit card balance. mmm, no credit card balance.

i believe jet blue gets their signal from direct tv satellite. no charge for the tv.

The waitress chica I met on my last trip, I was talking to her on La Parada Bar and she suggested going to an all inclusive on my next trip. I told her a weekend in Juan Dolio will be nice. I was talking about the two of us. She smiled and said: "how much it will cost you to take me, my two sons, my brothers and my mother to the resort?" I have not checked the price yet.

These girls think every one of us have not a bank account but a bank. I am not a millionaire although I have spent more than a million on my trips to Santo Domingo, a million pesos, lol. She was serious about it.

She also suggested that I can rent a suv on my next trip, then she got a better idea: that I can buy her a yipeta (suv) and that I can use it every time I travel. That reminds me of a puertorican joke about an old guy that went to the Dominican Republic and had sex with a shy young girl. The girl told the old guy that she was virgin until he made love to her. He was moved and thankful to the chica for letting him being her first so he offered her a gift. "Ask for anything you want", she replied: "I want a flor (flower)". "A flor?", he asked, "you are so humble, so decent, tell me what kind of flor do you want? A margarita(daisy)? Una rosa (roses)?" The girl replied: "I want a Flor Explorer 2010 with sunroof"

My first experience with the family comes along was back in 2006. A friend of mine was in SD for his first trip. I was seeing this chica so she introduced him to her sister. Sunday being a slow day we decided to take them to El Conuco restaurante in SD. My friend and I are thinking it will be the four of us for dinner and maybe afterwards we will just walk around a bit.

We arrived at the house to pick up the two chicas. My chica asks would it be OK if her mother and father comes. I say sure, no problem. A few minutes later she wants to know if her other sister could come. By the time the car was loaded up I was hanging halfway out the window trying to drive.

The dinner party of four turned into...... myself, my friend from the states, my chica, his chica, the other sister, the mother and father, the younger brother, my chica's daughter, the other chica's daughter, and two nephews. I think that was it.......

As soon as we got to El Conuco restaurant I marched them right to the buffet area cuz wasn't no way I was going to let them order a meal off of a menu. The total bill was less than $100 so it was no biggie. Actually we all had a really good time and I was not the least bit pissed.

I have often heard it said when you date a Dominican chica you date the entire family and it is true.

OK, I take it this is something new with Jet Blue. Continental Airlines has been phasing in the individual TVs for the past several years and I believe by now just about all their aircraft has this setup.

When selecting your seat online it is always good to check with seatguru.com first. A good example are the comparision of the two exit row seats. The first exit row seats do NOT recline so it is best to select the second exit row. Some seats do not have under seat storage. Some aircraft have electrical outlets to power up your laptop.

I can't speak for all airlines but with Continental when you check in online 24 hours before departure a lot of the better seats become available and you can switch your seat. Continental recently added a small fee if you want a seat with extra legroom.

As far as having a few drinks during your flight just crack open the bottle you purchased at the duty free shop. Technically it is against airline policy buy if you are discreet about it the flight attendants won't say a thing. It sure beats $5 a pop for one of them minature bottles of booze.

One other thing. Last trip I took a netbook instead of my 15" laptop. The netbook is sooooo much better to bring. The netbook does just about everything the laptop does but so much easier to carry around.

LOL, you a mess. You need to be writing comedy instead of posting on ISG.

Like I have said in the past it took me awhile to learn these chicas don't appreciate a good meal at a nice restaurant. Anything more than a plato del dia or maybe a sandwich from a "chimi" stand is a waste of money.

Did I ever tell you about the chica I took to Adrian Tropical on the Malecon. We had a lovely table right on the cliffs overlooking the Caribe Sea. The menu comes and the chica goes straight to the pescado section. Instead of reading the left column she scans down the price column and wants to order the most expensive fish dish without even know what it is. I think it was blackened fish she would have been ordering. I just shook my head and laughed to myself.

Play it safe, feed them ham n' cheese sandwiches day and night..............

If for some reason you guys do take a chica to a nice restaurant you are better off ordering for her. A lot of them don't understand a menu. Anything more than 12 selections in a pico pollo they are completly confused.

Another story BQ, this one from my July trip. I went with two 19 yr. old girls to a restaurant you recomended: Chef Pepper, by the way, good restaurant, thanks! I ate a tasty and juicy ribeye there. We went on the yipeta (suv) of one of the chicas, which is a distribution manager of a bottled water plant. While looking at the menu the girls were straight to order the main dish, they are not used to a full course meal. I ordered chicken fingers with a sauce as appetizer. They tasted the sauce and said "hey, this sauce is so good, what it this?" I tasted it and replied "it tastes like honey mustard" . "Honey mustard? What is that?" . "Una mezcla de miel y mostaza (A mix of honey and mustard) ". They were like how can a mix of honey and mustard can taste so good. They asked the waiter: "What sauce is that?" his answer: "honey mustard". I was like a celebrity to the girls, they were amazed on how much I know. I ordered a salad for the girls so they can have their full course, and we shared a dessert at the end. They wanted a pie, I suggested to add ice cream. Yes!!!!! a pie with ice cream! they replied. So I said to the waiter "I want an a la mode pie". The girls rapidly replied: "hey but you said we were ordering a pie with ice cream, not with that mode thing! " LOLLOLLOL!!!

When you take Avenida Lincoln north, past Avenida 27 de Febrero, the road will fork, to the right will become a street called Avenida Lope de Vega.

Chef Pepper Restaurant is off of Avenida Lope de Vega on Avenida Gustavo Mejia Ricart. Also on that street near Chef Pepper is Praia disco, which has a 500 peso cover charge and is populated with young, rich Dominicans. Within a block of Prai is Cats which is a small bar with about 6 chicas and a curtained off room where you can have a chica dance in private for you for 500 pesos.

Near Chef Pepper, about two blocks away, is I believe a place called Stilletto, which seemed to be a popular normal bar.

Off of Avenida Lincoln, north of Avenida 27 de Febrero and before Avenida Lope de Vega are the bars on Avenida Roberto Pasoriza, including Zambra.

Also between Avenida Lincoln and Avenida Tiradentes on the southern side, east bound direction, of Avenida 27 de Febrero is GBP. (Avenida Tiradentes south of 27 de febrero on the Google map is called Avenida Alma Mater.

I enjoy going to bars and places to eat with female wait staffs. Years ago there were many around Avenida Churchill and around were the Post Office is located now. I've not seen many of such locations on my last 2 trips. It does take time to get close to the chicas but I like doing that. Any other suggestions. The Cats bar sounds like a place I need to investigate. I do have a cousin, a Dominican by birth who spends time between NY and SD. He always takes me when we met up in DR to places I did not know of before so there many locations for action that are not known to the casual monger or change for time to time. The problem with that is I get stuck with family members who always want me to be with them.

Avenida Lincoln north of Avenida 27 de Febrero has some good places. Lincoln Road Restaurant looks like a nice place, it is not small and I have read that the food is good there. Close by is a new Adrian's Tropical Restaurant, which I have read serves better food than the Adrian's on the Malecon.

Near those restaurants on Avenida Lincoln is one of the newer more expensive hotels in Santo Domingo, the Holiday Inn. Modern style looking hotel, with a roof top pool, owned by the Intercontinental Hotel Group, the Holiday Inn on Avenida Lincoln is more expensive than the Intercontinental V Centanario on the Malecon.

Ok I guess I have to call now do they just use the card to hold the room because I usually like booking anything out of the country online and not by phone ,but I guess I will call them because it seems for a newbie that location is where I need to be thanks. You could book online for another hotel that is chica friendly for your first day and night and during your first day you could walk over to Riazor and check it out and then pay in cash for future nights.

There are several chica friendly hotels that you can book online using orbitz, expedia, travelocity or the hotel's webpage, among the chica friendly hotels you can book online are Palacio, Conde de Penalbe, Mercure, Napolitano, Embajador, BQ Hotel and probably others.

I agree with you about not wanting to make a long distance call and give your credit card information over the telephone, I would not want to that either. Riazor is convenient and easy to find for a newbie, but it is NOT the only chica friendly hotel in that area.

Jaguar hotel is 2 blocks from Riazor and usually has rooms, you could just show up and ask for a room, Maison Gatreux usually has rooms and is about 4 blocks from Riazor. Hotel Venezia is close by.

You have options, you don't have to give your credit card information over the phone if you don't want. I try to limit my credit card usage while in DR. Many hotels will ask for a credit card so as to pay for any incidentals such as items from the mini bar, even if you have already paid online for the room.

I would not sweat it, I have never been inside the hotel Riazor. You may like one of the other hotels that you can book online better than the Riazor.

Hotel Europa in Zona Colonial might be chica friendly.

I doubt any hotels in Santo Domingo have 100% occupancy this time of the year. The only time I saw high occupancy rates was immediately after the earthquake in Haiti, when many people were basing themselves from Santo Domingo, to work in Haiti.

Presently, I am sure you will have no problem finding a chica friendly hotel room in Santo Domingo, even if you do not have reservations before hand.

Just call and make a reservation, they do not ask for a credit card. It is better to call than showing without a reservation because the hotel is sometimes full and you will be at risk of not having a room available. Rooms are from $58.00.

The Cats bar sounds like a place I need to investigate. Koki found Cats bar on Ave Mejia Ricart. I was following behind him in my car. It was not the easiest place to find. Bq Ribs was in Santo Domingo at the same time that trip and I had invited him to go to Avenida Venezuela that night. I started the night at Acropolis Mall at Docks, then I met up with Koki and we found Cats, I was with a Dominican friend who I dropped off at Prai Disco, while I went to Cats with Koki.

Cats is a small place on the second floor of a plaza that has other businesses. Koki and I stayed for a beer and got a tour, I bought some light skin chica a small presidente and I was massaging her ass while she was standing next to me.

Some times the places outside of Gazcue can be more fun, because they get less tourist clients, so when a tourist walks in, some times you get more attention. I have had fun in Pink Pony on Avenida Nunez de Caceres.

The house off of Avenida Espana near las americas highway, that place sucked, the chicas had no energy and they quoted me 4,000 pesos.

One night a chica in bar 305 did a show with hot wax, there is a stripper pole in front of one of the sofas when you walk in (to the right), the chica was pouring hot wax from a lit candle on her tits and tota, the other chicas were going crazy when they saw that.

I would also go with Rapido's advice. Play it safe and book in advance. Also keep the name and address of two backup hotels on a sheet of paper tucked in your wallet. If your initial reservation some how gets screwed up you are not at the mercy of the taxi driver. Most airport taxi drivers won't know the best chica friendly hotels in SD.

For a SD vet it is easy to just try different hotels but someone new to the city it can be stressful.

Apologies for the poor lighting but most of you probably understand the reason why. This is a session room in GBP. Still 1, 000 pesos and decent service but as you can see it is not the most comfortable environment.

Girls have told me of guys buying them furniture, computers, electronics and appliances so I do not doubt some guys have bought cars to their chicas and the word have spread. Some others send the girls a monthly WU that is 2 or 3 times bigger than the girls will earn with a job in the country. The waitress chica I met on my last trip had a boyfriend from New Jersey that was sending her $500 per month. She has received from me...3 phone calls.

A girl I know from internet asked me for some money to buy college goods. I told her Western Union closed all their offices in Puerto Rico because of the Junior Capsula case (Jr. Capsula, a puertorican drug lord recently arrested that lived 10 years in the Dominican Republic) . She believed me, lol. She told me I can send money to Vimenca. I asked if Vimenca is her sister. She replied is a money transfer service. She also told me about internet transfering services. These girls do not know how to eat at a restaurant but have a master degree on money transfering.

Dominican Republic ranks 19 in the world in the list of money transfer receiving countries.

I use to hit GBP back in 06 & 07. Very few ladies, but no pressure and priced right. I thinked I actually banged a girl on the treadmill there once!

You ever run into Jasmine? She's a short, cute, morena, (an 8) with natural small C cups, now about 24 y.o. I sampled her there once solo, and then a few months later with another girl whose name I forgot. I also had her come to my pad twice when she wasn't on duty. boca chica is an easy day trip from santo domingo. for the big crowds go on sundays or holidays. the eastern end are the beach bars and restaurants. but if you really want to have a good time go to the western end of playa boca chica which will be nothing but locals, cheap eats, cheap beers, and cute chicas.

I did book at the Riazor like you guys said . Now I notice on this site its says taxi service http://www.santodomingohotels.com.do/en/hotels/riazor/ does the Riazor has its own taxi it uses? If not what is the cost of the Taxi ride from airport and which ones to use?

I am coming this weekend barring any storm and thanks for all the info and I am expecting this to be the first of many trips here.

.....does the Riazor has its own taxi it uses? If not what is the cost of the Taxi ride from airport and which ones to use?........
There are three or four taxi drivers who hang out on the corner by Riazor. Their business cards say Taxi Service Hostal Riazor. These drivers will take any fare or the desk at Riazor calls them for their hotel guests. They are not exclusively for Hostal Riazor. If you book a cab with Riazor you will pay the going rate, maybe a couple bucks more. A driver will be waiting with your name on a piece of cardboard. No biggie...........

You can just as easily walk out the airport and get a cab with the airport taxi service (guys with yellow shirts). Do NOT take a taxi from some dude whispering in your ear "taxi?".

There are just as many gimmicks in taking a taxi as there are taxis. Easiest thing to do is take the legit cab. The going rate is $40. I know, I know, I know you can negotiate, go upstairs, wait for a taxi dropping someone off, and so on and so on. Ask the driver the rate. His response will be $40. Offer 1,000 pesos or $35 and start to walk away. Most likely you have a cab to the city for that rate. As this is your first trip I wouldn't even bother with the BS. Just be prepared to pay $40 at the maximum and have a nice ride into town.

When you exit the airport and see daylight go to the right and there are ATMs to get you started with pesos.

Hostal Riazor has computers for use so keep posting while you are in town.

Print out sections of the map, especially the Riazor area. Review the map for walking directions to El Conde. El Conde is no big deal but a nice strip to just walk, eat, and chill out.

Don't forget to keep info for two backup hotels tucked away in your wallet.

Thanks for the taxi info. I plan on being in the DR in late November for a couple of weeks and for the purposes of adventure plan on taking the Metro bus to Puetro Plata/Sosua. Could somebody help me with a couple of questions. How much would one expect to pay for a taxi from the Riazor to the Metro bus station, and how much is the ticket from SD to Puerto Plata?

My plan is to stay one night in SD and then ride the bus instead of renting a car. My Spanish is not great but I will have finished disk three of Rosetta Stone before making the trip. I feel foolishly confident I will be able to get around with the little I know.

Any tips or thoughts on the advisability of taking the bus would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Smart move not renting a car. A taxi from Riazor to the Metro Station should be 200 pesos. Most cabs take you just about anywhere in Santo Domingo Centro for 150 pesos. The Metro Station is not that far but most times there will be traffic. 150 or 200 pesos? It is only like $1.50 more paying the 200 pesos and you have a happy driver. So 200 pesos for the cab and I am guessing around 300 pesos for the bus.

Here is the Metro webpage. Look under the STGO/POP/SOS listing leaving from Churchill. The Metro Station is on Avenida Winston Churchill in Santo Domingo.

As far as the Spanish goes you will get along just fine. I know a few words but can't understand a thing and I never have problems.

Rosetta Stone works pretty good in that you associate words with pictures and have to use a mic. to talk back to the computer for pronunciation. Over time they take simple concepts and start putting the thoughts into sentences and keep reinforcing the words you learn throughout the program. A year ago I couldn't say hello and a year later I could carry on basic conservations with the chicas in Sosua/Blackbeards. A friend who is fluent in Spanish is amazed at my progress and feels I should do even better this trip. My problem now is that I am not around Spanish speakers enough to help beyond Rosetta Stone.

The price is steep but torrents can be found if you are so inclined. I would recommend the first disk to anybody who does not know Spanish and is planning a visit to the DR. This would at least let greet a person, ask names, order food and buy stuff. Much better than the culture/language shock I had on my first visit. The chicas really do like it when you try to talk to them and some even want to be your profesora which can be fun.

Thanks for the taxi/bus pricing. I decided on Metro after reading several threads on DR1. They indicated that Metro stops less often than Caribe Tours cutting almost an hour off the total trip time. Also Metro drops you off near the hotels in Sosus where as Caribe Tours is about a mile away from my ultimate destination. I plan on stopping at BB for a few days before traveling on to Sosua so maybe that would not be an issue.

My nephew just got back Monday from his first trip to SD. Now Junior
( not his real handle ) is an experienced monger, I took him under my wing long ago, he has been to many of the great locations for women in the world. However he was just gushing over a couple of nenas he met at the Copa Disco this past weekend.

It is not like him to go gaga over a puta or any other woman for that matter but from what he tells me these Dominicanas living in NY and visiting their land of birth were really hottt. I don't think the SOB ( just kidding ) will give me the contact information. His comment was " I'm in love with both ".

The good news is they hang at the hotels on the Malecon when in SD which I understand is frequently. I asked how would anyone know who they are without specific information his response was you'll know.

The bad news is they are expensive.

Nah Rjsss, no Grey Poupon but you did notice the Patron........hahahahaha

One of the best goodies as far as snacks to bring is chocolate. The local stores by me usually have $1 sales on the eight packs of chocolates and I stock up. Chicas love chocolate..... The colmados don't stock chocolate because of the DR heat, the chocolate would melt. If you don't have A/C having chocolate is useless that is why it is such a big treat for the chicas.

Another cheapo trick I do is right after a US holiday I go to the store and stock up on the boxes of chocolate. Example, On February 15 all the Valentines Day chocolate is half price so I buy the large assorted boxes. Once in the DR and I rip off the wrapper who the hell knows this is Valentines Day candy?

Not yet, I still can't get these chicas to understand when you make a sandwich you have to put on more than one piece of ham and one piece of cheese. Look at that skimpy sandwich the chica made. I had a frig full of cold cuts but NOOOOO, one piece of meat and one piece of cheese.

Probably for causing rear-end accidents (no pun intended). Seen a couple good accidents from people checking out the girls and breaking when they see one they like. They take their driving serious in the DR. Fortunately, all they do in the DR is honk their horns (all effin night:). If that happened shit in the US, there'd be an uptick in vehicular homicide!

The report do not mention the reasons, I can only infer that they want the girls out of the streets. The girls are back to business. In my opinion most police action in DR is for the purpose of enriching the police officers. As another guy said, police in Sosua are requesting 600 pesos from some street chicas as some type of fine.

The owners of brothels in Santo Domingo, I would guess are making payments to the police and to politicians.

I would guess some street chicas are being shaken down for money by the police.

The politicians in Dom Rep, don't want to pay for a professional police force, so the police officers do what they have to do, to supplement their income.

What is yours or anyone else is take on this situation does that mean that the chicas will not be on Avenida Independencia anymore ? I'll be heart broken if that is the case.If the police harass the street chicas, the chicas will adapt, they will probably go and hang out in the casinos and wait for clients.

Ave Independencia, Malecon, Ave Sarasota, Ave Espana, Ave St Vincent de Paul are a few of the streets where pros hang out. The pros will not disappear from Santo Domingo.

To me it seems like the chief of police is throwing some of his officers a bone. He gives them the green light to go out and harass street walkers, so that those officers can make extra money.

But seriously, is it for loitering or what?I was stopped by the police in Santo Domingo while driving. I explained to the Police officer that in the US, there has to be probable cause ("a reasonable belief that a person has committed a crime") for a police officer to stop and detain a person.

The Dominican police officer responded to me that they don't need a reason to stop anybody. He said they can stop and detain any person they choose to, without a reason.

Whether prostitution is legal or illegal in DR is not important in DR, the police will do what they want. If they have been given the green light to harass street walkers by their supervisors, then that is what will happen. The street walkers can demonstrate, but not much else. Appears there is no group prepared to file a lawsuit that would protect the civil liberties of the street walkers, as such the street walkers are stuck without recourse from police harassment.

This would be my first trip to DR. I plan on being in DR for about 6 nights in November.

After reading a lot of posts it seems the best option for a first trip is to stay in SD.

The second option is to split the time between SD and Punta Cana.

I am not planning to drive on this trip.

It seems quality chicas are available both in SD and PC. Beach proximity is not that important to me, other than spending a day or so at the beach.

I would like to hear the opinions of senior members as to any other options and your recommendations. Thank you in advance.

Sosua would be an easy mongering destination in Dom Rep. Quality of chicas varies in Sosua. Fine chicas can be found in Sosua, at times.

Sosua is a very small town and there is a chance that you won't find fine chicas every night.

Punta Cana/Bavaro is predominantly a resort area with many large all inclusive hotels, the nearest city to Punta Cana/Bavaro is Higuey, about 45 minutes away. Most hotels in Punta Cana/Bavaro are all inclusive hotels which generally are not chica friendly. For sex, most times you will have to rent an additional room at a small inexpensive hotel/motel.

Prices for pay for play, appears to be higher in Punta Cana/Bavaro.

Santo Domingo is a large busy city. Chica friendly hotels start at about $50 US per night. Taxi prices are about 150-200 pesos ($4-$5.50 US). Chica prices start at around 1000 pesos ($27 US).

In Santo Domingo there are chica friendly hotels located within walking distance of street chicas, brothels and casino chicas. Street crime generally does not occur in the main mongering areas. Choose a hotel with a safe and lock your valuables in a safe.

Many guys prefer Sosua because it is a small beach town where you can learn the streets (locations of places) in about 30 minutes of walking around. Higher percentage of Haitian chicas can be found in Sosua, than can be found in Punta Cana or Santo Domingo.

By bus, Punta Cana is about 4 hours from Santo Domingo.

Condominium and Villa rentals do exist in Punta Cana/Bavaro, I have not checked for what their prices are.

I know some non-pro chicas in and around Santo Domingo who I spend time with and when those chicas go home at night (or when they are at work or University), I visit the brothels or disco or casinos.

More numerous and generally cheaper flights into Santo Domingo (SDQ), than Punta Cana (PUJ) or Puerto Plata (POP).

Punta Cana/Bavaro is spread out over a fairly large area. Proximity to Pro chicas will depend on what hotel you choose (or what condo or villa you rent). Unless you choose a hotel or other lodging close to where the Pro chicas hang out in Punta Cana, you will need to take taxis or motoconchos (motorcycle taxis). In Sosua, Boca Chica, Juan Dolio and Santo Domingo you don't need a car or taxi to find Pro chicas.

Some guys recommend Black Beards in Puerto Plata as a good starting place for a newbie to Dom Rep.

In my opinion most police action in DR is for the purpose of enriching the police officers.
The politicians in Dom Rep, don't want to pay for a professional police force, so the police officers do what they have to do, to supplement their income.

There is a dominican movie in the cinemas all over the D.R. which is called "La Soga" and which also deals with this kind of problem.
You can watch the trailer of it on youtube the movie does not have english subtitles

According to google translation, la soga means rope.

Thanks in advance guys .Hotel Riazor to GBP is about 40 blocks, it would probably be close to an hour walk in 85 degree heat. Taking a taxi may take the same amount of time, with the traffic in the daytime.

305 is close to Riazor, a five minute walk. Also close to Riazor; Lapsus, also the happy ending massage place on calle cervantes near the supermarket, also piano bar on ave pasteur, satin and girls house on Ave Pasteur.

Directly in front of the hotel riazor is the hotel jaragua hotel and casino, you can enter the complex from across the street from the Riazor. You can walk through the lobby to the casino. Pros hang around inside the casino at the jaragua. You can exit the Jaragua through the front entrance, facing the malecon and the sea and make a left. The building next door is the hotel melia which has a busy casino and the bar coppa. Pros hang out in front of the hotel melia, inside the melia casino and inside coppa disco (it is a medium size bar, not a huge disco), there is a balcony for coppa where you can go and smoke cigarettes.

After hotel Melia you can again make a left as you exit on the malecon and the next street will be avenida pasteur. On one corner will be torre veiramar (an apartment building) and on the other corner will be the Intercontinental V Centenario hotel. I usually go into the casino at the V Centenarrio and use the ATM machine near the cashiers. That machine you have to choose Spanish in order for it to function. That machine gives 1000 peso bills, which I take over to one of the cashiers and I ask for change, she gives me ten 100 peso bills for every one thousand peso bill I give her. There is another ATM inside the lobby of the V Centenario.

Usually taxi guys hanging around in front of the V Centenario. I had one guy offer some cute chica for 1500 pesos, he called her over and she was massaging my dick over my pants on the street in front of the V Centenario, she was a cute chica. Most of the guys who hang around there know me, because I have stayed in that area many times.

After you exit the V Centenario make a right and the street will be Avenida Pasteur. Stay on the right side of Pasteur, be careful as parts of the sidewalk on that side of the street is a little crumbly, it will be dark at night. You can walk in the street, just move over to side when a car drives by.

The first house you will come to is Satin, newly remodeled. I am friendly with the heavy set bouncer there. I have met the owner of that house, an attractive woman. Inside Satin there is an elevated dance platform in the middle of the bar area, the chicas get up and dance there with the stripper pole. If you like a particular chica, you can take her to the second floor where there is a smaller bar with seating and another stripper pole in front of the seating.

Satin usually closes at curfew, but often times some of the chicas hang out on the front porch and are available.

Many times when you first walk into a casa the chicas will almost bull rush you, it can be a little unnerving having 10 chicas lined up in front of you all trying to get you to choose them.

I don't know what is the best way to handle that. You don't want to be rude and tell them all to scram. I usually don't want to have to choose a chica in under 5 minutes. You could visit the bathroom to get some breathing room, or go directly to the bar and face the bar, with your back to the chicas.

Drinks can be expensive in casas, so my advice don't offer to start buying drinks immediately. If I sit down and a fine chica comes and sits down on my lap and starts massaging my dick over my pants, I will usually offer to buy her a drink. I usually try to only buy a cerveza (beer). Presidente beer for a small bottle is about 150 pesos in most casas. Miller Beer is more expensive and Corona is more expensive. Baileys and other drinks can cost 400 pesos and up.

For peace of mind, try to have pants with buttons on the pockets. Getting fondled by three or four chicas at the same time, more comfortable knowing your money can not be easily pick pocketed or fallen out. I only had one experience where a light skin Santiago chica in the Mansion in Zona Oriental, tried to get close to my money that was in my shirt pocket, while I was sitting next to her on a sofa. Most casa chicas will not try to pickpocket you, but for peace of mind try to have your money secure.

GBP, see post #1582 for exterior photos.

You can very easily walk to Club 305 but to get to GBP you will need to take a taxi (150 pesos). Most cab drivers have no idea where GBP is. Tell the driver to take Bolivar to Lincoln and make a right. Take Avenida Lincoln to 27 de febrero and make a right. Proceed on 27 de febrero to the large car dealership just past the gas station. GBP is across the street on the second level.

If you don't mind walking you can also have the taxi driver drop you off at supermercado Nacional. Nacional has a nice hot foods section where you can have lunch. I sometimes have lunch, buy a bottle of Brugal at the supermarket and watch the eye candy before going to GBP. From Nacional to GBP is a good 10 minute walk.

To get to Club 305 just walk out Riazor and go left. The third block will be Pasteur. You will see Villar Hnos restaurant on the corner. Go 50 meters past Pasteur and Club 305 will be on the left (north) side of the street. I can't tell you anything about Club 305 as I never had the desire to go inside.

305 is owned by a Cuban father and son. I have spoken with the son who speaks perfect English, very pleasant guy. If you see a bald headed 35 year old guy behind the bar in 305, most likely he is one of the owners. You can speak to him if you have any questions or concerns.

When the inside bar is closed at 305, early afternoon or very late at night, oftentimes you can enter through the metal gate near the driveway and go to the back of the house. There is an outdoor bar in the back of the house with tables and chairs. If you need to use the bathroom while in the backyard, you will probably have to enter the room of a chica and use the bathroom in her room.

While walking around the area of the Hotel Riazor and near 305 and Satin, you will be approached by Dominican guys offering to show you bars with chicas. Generally you do not need their services. Sometimes they may tell you a place is 5 minutes away and in reality it could be 20 minutes away.

I usually bring with me at least 50 one dollar bills. If someone helps you with something you can give them a 1 or 2 dollar tip.

Most times when you enter 305 or girls house or satin or baby dolls about 10 chicas will line up in front of you and will stay there until you choose one. I would try not to buy drinks for any chicas you just met in a casa.

If you take a taxi to GBP and you stay at GBP for an hour or so. When you are ready to go back to your hotel, you could ask the bartender or one of the chicas to call a taxi for you. You could give a 1 dollar tip for that or give nothing, depending how much you spent in GBP.

Try to get a local cell phone, it will save you money. ZTE brand Chinese cell phone from Claro with 100 pesos in minutes can be purchased for around 500 pesos (about $13 US).

Starting around 7pm usually the street walkers start showing up on Avenida Independencia near the Riazor and bar 305.

You ever run into Jasmine? She's a short, cute, morena, (an 8) with natural small C cups, now about 24 y.o. I sampled her there once solo, and then a few months later with another girl whose name I forgot. I also had her come to my pad twice when she wasn't on duty. A good performer, very tranquila, and sweet.Heck yes me and my illustrious bastards (you know who you are ) know her and I have her cell if you need it. Although I did not take Jasmine I got her number just in case.[/QUOTE]

Thanks! I still have her cell, but it's been over 2 years since we spoke. 1st hooked up with her there in 06. Am surprised that she's still there. Very rare for a girl to work at any locale for more than 1 year. She had a cousin I think named Jennifer that also worked at GBP with her for a while. She was cute (7.5), chubby, with big natural titties, about 24 y.o. now. I sampled her once, but I preferred Jasmine.

The taxi from the airport and your hotel will gladly accept $USD. Everything else pay in pesos.

Thank you all for the info but I do have one question and that is do the girls and others take dollars. I was under the impression that I would have to exchange and only use pesos. Now my question is do I need to keep some american cash? For just about everything it is better to pay in pesos. I bring with me a minimum of 300 US dollars cash. I have three credit cards and 2 ATM cards.

If I go out during the day or night, sometimes I will have 25 US one dollar bills in one pocket. 25 bills is a little thick so I can feel and know those are the single one dollar bills in one pocket. In the street, at a bar, in a hotel, if I want to tip someone, I can reach into that pocket and feel for one or two dollars and quickly tip someone 1 or 2 dollars without taking out all my money and exposing it.

Many places have trouble giving you change for a 1000 peso bill (about $27 US). So it is good to have some 100 peso bills. You will receive many coins when you buy stuff. I don't like walking around with a pocketful of coins. Loose coins are good to leave in the car.

100 pesos is about $2.77, often the smallest bill I will have is 100 pesos. A 100 peso tip for certain people is too much and if you use all your 100 peso bills to tip people, then you may have to wait when you buy a small item paying with a 1000 peso bill, waiting for the change.

I usually carry a few $20 US bills just in case along with pesos.

I exchange dollars and I use ATM machines to get pesos.

Many restaurants will give you the bill with the price in pesos, euros and dollars. If you pay in dollars any change you get will be in pesos and many times the exchange rate will not be in your favor.

Some people don't like to tip and tipping is purely voluntary. However being in a foreign country, where you may not be an expert in the language, a 1-3 dollar tip here or there, will not make you bankrupt and most Dominicans remember and appreciate any tip you may give.

You can tip chicas in casas with dollar bills, if for example they give you a lap dance.

After drinking a lot of alcohol and being in a dark bar, some Dominican paper money start to resemble one another, you could mistake a high denomination bill for a lower denomination bill.

If it is late at night and you need cash, probably the safest place to use an ATM machine is in a casino or the lobby of a large hotel.

I usually never walk around with large sums of cash. ATM fees can be $5 dollars or higher per transaction. For me, I don't mind using the ATM machine to get pesos (most ATM machines offer English or Spanish as the language, many ATM machines in Dom Rep will only function when you choose Spanish as the language).
