BTW, Brazil has one of the fastest growing middle class demographics in the world but I will post this in politics.They still have a very huge gap so its all relative but believe me for a nation that big and basically energy sell sufficient they have a small middle class. Its a good thing that you say they have a growing middle class but in reality they have a lot growing to do as far as middle class.
The Politics in the DR forum is discussing not getting change back when making a purchase and the Santo Domingo forum is discussing politics again. No wonder newbies get frustrated when they read the threads.

Thanks againLapsus is near the rear entrance of the Jaragua Hotel and Casino. Lapsus has been open since when I first started going to Santo Domingo over 7 years ago. Lapsus the one time I was there over 7 years ago had some chicas put on a show, with flowery Las Vegas showgirl type of clothes. A Cuban guy who used to own part of 305, went from 305 to Sky High then to Lapsus. La Parada about two blocks from the rear entrance of the jaragua hotel and casino was the first pay for play venue I visited in Santo Domingo over 7 years ago. La Parada was in a nice house with a bar. Me and wingman walked in, sat on a sofa and had about 10 chicas stand in front of us. Me and my wingman were the only clients in the place. There were some attractive chicas who used to work there. Seems La parada the play for venue might be closed. Next door is a restaurant that is also called la Parada, the restaurant is open.
Bar 360 and Club 305 are two different places. Bar 360 was a small venue in Zona Colonial owned by a Canadian, that was across the street from the hotel abyta in zona colonial, I am not sure if bar 360 is still open. Club 305 recently was the venue with the most chicas. Club 305 is on avenida independencia around the corner from satin dolls and sky high. You can walk by club 305 and ask if they are open.
Playboy Palace has been running advertisements in Mundo Anuncio, appears they are open. GBP (also known as Gim Bar) appears to be open. Playboy Palace advertises one chica for 1000 pesos and two chicas for 1500. GBP in the past had the same prices.
The baby dolls has some attractive chicas. 3500 pesos for two hours takeout price.
Girls House on Avenida Pasteur is not recommended.

La Base bar on avenida espana is a big place that gets going some nights with some attractive waitresses in sexy clothes.
Streetwalkers in zona colonial, the malecon, some parts of avenida independencia, churchill. Freelancers in Coppa disco and hotel melia casino.
56 Pasteur I believe was the Piano Bar, there could be a place that reopened near there, so you can walk by and check it out.

There is another place on the service road between the airport and the city of santo domingo. That place has the painting of a silhouette of a woman painted outside on its front wall. I have been inside that place one time and there were about 5 chicas inside. Showgirls is another place in Santo Domingo city, on Avenida Kennedy. There is another casa, I visited one time a few blocks off of avenida espana, that had about 8 chicas. I am not sure if Venus de Milo is open, location supposedly off of Avenida Nunez de Caceres. Club MC, I have been to a few times, had about 8-10 chicas, about two blocks north of Avenida 27 de Febrero near Ave. Delfilo. I visited Playboy Palace one night with Koki and another Monger. Koki parked his car near the corner before the entrance of the Playboy Palace, there was a bar near there up some steps named Esedeku (from the airport code SDQ) , I walked inside the place and it seemed it was a gay bar. As a heads up for newbies going to Santo Domingo, zona colonial has areas that are gay hangouts including some bars, some parks and some hotels, that cater to a gay or lesbian clientele.

alright, so i'm in gazcue right now. flight came in this morning (3am). as my travel announcement post said, i had a feeling things might suck a little since the closings, so if anybody is up for a beer, let me know.
also, if there are any places you guys want me to report about, let me know and i'll check it out. i'll start out with a couple of hearsay and observations.
the jaguar apart hotel of raphael is not closed. everybody likes raphael (he is a gentleman) , but one thing you need are ear plugs to sleep here. the worker's were having a rather loud conversation right outside my door. instead of trying to complain about the noise, i'll just get ear plugs. the other thing about this place is that the wireless is pretty spotty. it would be great if raphael could put more router's and such in to expand network coverage a little to reach the floors. i'm not asking for blazing speeds, just some reliability would be nice.
i mongered from 4 am to 6 am last night. i took to the streets and saw about 5 sw. 2 were fat. i don't do fat. there were 2 light-skinned thin sw (8 out of 10) and 1 dark-skinned thin sw (8 out of 10). they hung around the intersection of av independencia and calle pasteur. they're going rates were $1000.
here's the problem with the 2 light-skinned sw's. i've had them way too many times. every trip into sdq, i've always had them. they're cheap, safe, reliable, and in good shape. just like a 2008 civic. but they are the only ones that i ever see.
the 1 dark-skinned thin sw turned out to be a nightmare and accused me of stealing $1000 from her. i think her name is maria. i was so pissed that i kicked her out of the hotel. she threatened to sit in front of my hotel. i was actually worried because i didn't want the police to come. i'm a foreigner and don't know the system in the dr, so i was worried about what the police would do. so i left her in front of the hotel and went to eat at the hotel riazor. 30 minutes later i saw her walking with some tall dark lanky guy.
i was worried she grabbed him to beat me up or something. i don't want problems in the dr. there are a lot of deported us convicts that live here. although i've always felt safe, when you're placed in sticky situations, you become more visible to others. including hustlers, gangsters, and thieves. maybe i should have just paid the $1000 and let it quietly settle? what would you guys have done?
anyways, there weren't any new sw that i saw last night. i'll be hunting tonight again, so i'm hoping for something different. this trip, if i have to fuck the same god damn sw's over and over again, i'm going to go batty. all the local street guys at night tried to take me to lapsus. if the sw's suck, i'll go check that out tonight and report back.
also, the english speaking old waiter (very nice person) , at the restaurant of hotel riazor, said that a bunch of bars were shut down last night on av venezuela for serving alcohol to the minors. he said these shutdowns are happening because of the political elections next year. i'm not sure if that's true, but i leave you guys to read the dr newspapers to confirm.
its 1pm right now. i'm going to la cadena to buy some beers, then the farmacia to get ear plugs and viagra. i'll be back at the hotel in an hour. afterwards, i'm going to eat a late lunch at adrian tropical and then walk west on av george washington to av abraham lincoln. i'm curious how the sw look around there near the hilton. its also just a nice beach side walk. and i've read there are a couple things to do around that area. if you guys want me to check out a couple places and report back to you on the findings, let me know where to go and i'll scout them out. i brought my camera, but forgot a battery charger, so i'll see if i have some juice.
i do have one question. i'm a big fan of techno music, like that european house / trance stuff. where would you guys go for that kind of music? are there any clubs that play that kind of music on av venezuela or somewhere in sdq? if that kind of music doesn't exist, where would you guys go for some classic rock or heavy metal? i'm getting real tired of this hip-hop rap-crap in the sdq clubs now a days. while i respect the african american population for creating alot of great rap songs in the late 80's and early 90's. this obsession with jay z and ludacris in sdq clubs and maintaining a thug gangster attitude is really sickening. this hip-hop crap sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

near the hilton now, probably not much happening on the malecon side of the hilton (on the independencia side of the hilton, my last trip i met a 19 year old streetwalker with a nice body, no kids, she was wearing a blond wig). i was in the malecon center mall one afternoon in february and it was dead, no a / c, escalators were off and at that hour of the day the stores were closed, maybe the malecon center mall is better at night. the streetwalkers use to hang out in groups near the isla gas station near the hilton, but from what i saw my last trip the police have chased them further west. closer towards the malecon at its intersection with churchill (ave jimenez moya) there were groups of streetwalkers, also on churchill and the side streets near there. it would be a very long walk to churchill and the malecon at night from the jaguar. if you do the walk at night to the hilton, you could stop inside the dollhouse, expensive place from what i have read, i have never been inside.
mint on saturday night late should be packed, mint plays techno type music. mint is in the hotel napolitano (near the baby dolls, foxys and d'luis parrilada restaurant, which has good food). check out the jaragua casino and the corner bar in the casino, also the entrance for the jaragua casino that faces the malecon. last time i was near that entrance last february, a few pros were trying to get my attention who were standing outside (boricua online met his 500 peso bj pro there).
coppa (hotel melia) just about always has pros, asking prices can be high, but i read one report recently that said some will take 2000 pesos. beer cost is around 200 pesos. usually some pros sitting at the slot machines in the hotel melia casino.
if you walk from the jaguar to the zona colonial on independnecia, around 10pm, i saw streetwalkers on indpendencia east of the gas station. last time i was in pacos around 5pm, i saw ten pros sitting around looking for clients. one street hustler in zona colonial told me pros walk up and down el conde starting around dusk, he pointed a few out to me and told me most will take 1500 pesos. playboy palace i was told is open from 2pm to 2am, it is located one block north of el conde in zona colonial and about three blocks from pacos cafe (grands cafe, which is located at the beginning of el conde).
hard rock cafe in zona colonial plays rock music, probably on a saturday night it will have a live band, usually playing rock music, should be packed with chicas.

I'm in room 204. I asked the front desk guy to get me an ethernet cable (which he did). There are 3 ports and somehow he fit twhat looked like a phone splitter into an ethernet port and then the ethernet cable. I tried various combinations of plugging the ethernet cable into the ports and directly into the wall and none of them worked. I disconnected the Ethernet cable going to the Cable Box that provides television and plugged that into my laptop as well. None of that worked.
I know the cable connection on the first floor room (The horrible one where you take an immediate left as you enter the building) definitely worked last month. I'll try and email Raphael and get it resolved.
BTW, I switched plans and decided to eat at El Cunoco. Its really hot out right now. I got ear plugs BTW. But not the ones you would typically find in the US. My favorite are Hearos, very comfortable to sleep with. The ones at the pharmacy (farmacia) were marketed as Swimmer Earplugs. With my terribly broken Spanish I tried to ask if they were ok for "Dormir" (sleeping) , and she said Si (yes). We'll find out tonight. Its 3:40pm, took longer then I expected to eat, shit, drink, and grocery shop. BTW, things haven't changed much regarding day time SW. Av Independencia and Calle Pasteur are still empty during the daytime. I'm headed out west towards Av Abraham Lincoln and Av George Washington now. I have my water bottle in my pocket too. I'll be back in 2-3 hours or so with another report.

Room 204, LOL as that is the room I always requested. 204 doesn't have the front view like 201 and 202 but it always seemed a little more private as you won't hear everyone going up and down the steps. If Juan is onsite he should be able to get your LAN connection working. I had a problem once and he found an extra, extra long cable and connected in the room across the hall. Does the towel rack bracket in the bathroom still keep falling off the wall?

From reading your posts, I can figure out what some of your opinions might be; Jaguar is a great hotel (even though you switched to another hotel, that other hotel you switched to, you seem unwilling to identify on the ISG) ; your opinion of Boca Chica seems to be it is great place (even though you spend the majority of your time while in DR, Not in Boca Chica) ; 300 pesos per day for food and 1000 pesos for a chica is the way to go in Santo Domingo (what you actually spend on chicas, I don't know) ; 90% or more of the casas should be avoided; enclosed bars or discos in Santo Domingo should be avoided; sitting outside on a street corner in front of a Colmado on a street that oftentimes has heavy vehicular traffic is the way to go.
ISG members who have different opinions regarding Mongering in the Dominican Republic from yours, you seem to imply should not post on the ISG.
i think most of the guys here could benefit from information about something besides the jaguar hotel and its 1/8 square mile perimeter. it's been covered to death and now that you confirmed it hasn't changed very much, maybe it's time to move on to at least gbp. some guys have problems finding it so you can help with some tips about how to get there and what happens after you arrive.

the jaguar apart hotel of raphael is not closed. everybody likes raphael (he is a gentleman) , but one thing you need are ear plugs to sleep here. the worker's were having a rather loud conversation right outside my door. instead of trying to complain about the noise, i'll just get ear plugs. the other thing about this place is that the wireless is pretty spotty. it would be great if raphael could put more router's and such in to expand network coverage a little to reach the floors. i'm not asking for blazing speeds, just some reliability would be nice.
i mongered from 4 am to 6 am last night. i took to the streets and saw about 5 sw. 2 were fat. i don't do fat. there were 2 light-skinned thin sw (8 out of 10) and 1 dark-skinned thin sw (8 out of 10). they hung around the intersection of av independencia and calle pasteur. they're going rates were $1000.
here's the problem with the 2 light-skinned sw's. i've had them way too many times. every trip into sdq, i've always had them. they're cheap, safe, reliable, and in good shape. just like a 2008 civic. but they are the only ones that i ever see.
the 1 dark-skinned thin sw turned out to be a nightmare and accused me of stealing $1000 from her. i think her name is maria. i was so pissed that i kicked her out of the hotel. she threatened to sit in front of my hotel. i was actually worried because i didn't want the police to come. i'm a foreigner and don't know the system in the dr, so i was worried about what the police would do. so i left her in front of the hotel and went to eat at the hotel riazor. 30 minutes later i saw her walking with some tall dark lanky guy.
i was worried she grabbed him to beat me up or something. i don't want problems in the dr. there are a lot of deported us convicts that live here. although i've always felt safe, when you're placed in sticky situations, you become more visible to others. including hustlers, gangsters, and thieves. maybe i should have just paid the $1000 and let it quietly settle? what would you guys have done?
anyways, there weren't any new sw that i saw last night. i'll be hunting tonight again, so i'm hoping for something different. this trip, if i have to fuck the same god damn sw's over and over again, i'm going to go batty. all the local street guys at night tried to take me to lapsus. if the sw's suck, i'll go check that out tonight and report back.
also, the english speaking old waiter (very nice person) , at the restaurant of hotel riazor, said that a bunch of bars were shut down last night on av venezuela for serving alcohol to the minors. he said these shutdowns are happening because of the political elections next year. i'm not sure if that's true, but i leave you guys to read the dr newspapers to confirm.
its 1pm right now. i'm going to la cadena to buy some beers, then the farmacia to get ear plugs and viagra. i'll be back at the hotel in an hour. afterwards, i'm going to eat a late lunch at adrian tropical and then walk west on av george washington to av abraham lincoln. i'm curious how the sw look around there near the hilton. its also just a nice beach side walk. and i've read there are a couple things to do around that area. if you guys want me to check out a couple places and report back to you on the findings, let me know where to go and i'll scout them out. i brought my camera, but forgot a battery charger, so i'll see if i have some juice.
i do have one question. i'm a big fan of techno music, like that european house / trance stuff. where would you guys go for that kind of music? are there any clubs that play that kind of music on av venezuela or somewhere in sdq? if that kind of music doesn't exist, where would you guys go for some classic rock or heavy metal? i'm getting real tired of this hip-hop rap-crap in the sdq clubs now a days. while i respect the african american population for creating alot of great rap songs in the late 80's and early 90's. this obsession with jay z and ludacris in sdq clubs and maintaining a thug gangster attitude is really sickening. this hip-hop crap sounds like nails on a chalkboard.

Alright guys, I just got back from a day of fucking. But I will detail everything in another report in the morning. Right now, I'm going to bed. I sports fucked about 10 chicas tonight, all of them skinny with good faces for $1000. Others are rated higher of course but I'll got into the details in the next post. It is also a way to raise cash. You see a lot of it in the interior. Whenever a local municipality or police official is short on cash, checkpoints and enforcement raids pop up. Give yourself extra time if you are traveling in the area of checkpoints. Also, never let a law enforcement officer enter your vehicle under any circumstances, or you will have to pay to get him out. Good source in dr has confirmed the casa de sitas will be reopen within 48hrs. After almost 3 weeks everything has been resolved. Nothing was found in none of the clubs. It was just a matter of time and money of course. Rumors say that the old man at lapsus had something to do with it, but i think it really had to do more with the neighbors being assholes in the area. La pastel will be open plus club 305 aswell, and la parada. I here club 305 will be finalizing construction in the patio, and updating the inside. But i will know more as i arrive on saturday. The clubs in la venezuela were closed aswell, but those will take some more time to reopen. Personally i like sky high and of course 305. Let the games begin.

These are positive developments. It is long overdue. Neighborhood leaders have been demanding action for many years. It is only recently that we are seeing some leadership from law enforcement. I am especially pleased about the enforcement of rules against motorcycles in the tunnels and on the elevated roadways. I don't expect the motorcycle rules enforcement to last because I've seen it come and go so many times. You will still be able to find more girls than you can possibly get with in a lifetime. After a few days in Santo Domingo, I will drive to Samana, Las Terrenas for 2 or 3 nights and also vist Playa Rincon and maybe Limon Falls on horseback. Usually my first stop after the airport is at Eagle Sports Bar for some beers. If you are staying in Santo Domingo Este, I can meet you at Eagle. The new overpass at the intersection of Avenida Charles de Gaul and Carretera San Isidro should be finished by now, so traffic should be flowing better near where Eagle is located.
I'll post some photos of some of the Cabanas located on San Isidro that are located near Avenida Charles de Gaul. Some of those Cabanas have prices starting at 250 (about $6US) pesos for a short term room rental.

I met with a chica that I had got info from the last trip and she came over to Hotel Palacio Friday night we went out to dinner and had a nice time and came back to room and had a even nicer time. So later that evening Chica and I came back to Hotel and had another very good night than in the morning I went back to her place for about 2 to 3 hours because I had told her I was leaving later that day so she cooked me a good lunch and called me taxi back to hotel and one thing I was surprised at the lower rates she insisted on getting from taxis she got both rates coming and going at 150.
Well I got back to hotel decide to relax a little while and called my taxi guy to bring me a neighborhood woman well he brought a nice 29 year old mother of 2 around and to be honest she did not look 29 I thought she was like 21 or 22 and was surprised she was that age. Well we got on computer and talked a bit and relax and when it was time to get down this woman was very passionate and she took over and I mean in a very sexual way and it was assertive not aggressive and I honestly felt like I was in a porn movie that is how well she performed. Around the corner from the Palacio (walk to el conde from the hotel and make a right) , there is an old time coffee shop called la cafeteria, good coffee and fresh fruit juices, they also make sandwiches. To get the coffee to go in a Styrofoam cup ask for "para llevar" (Ya-var).

I met you one time in Santo Domingo after I had been in another city, an hour from Santo Domingo. I had to check into the hotel palacio, maybe I offered you a glass of Baileys, maybe the Baileys was warm from being in the car for over an hour, I really don't remember. I showed you the hotel palacio, then I drove with you to GBP, but it was closed on a Sunday, from there I showed you casa theresa, casa azul, club MC and then pink pony. After pink pony I drove to you to your hotel and waited while you checked out, put your luggage into my rental car and drove very fast to airport, so you would not miss your flight, all for free.
Good luck finding a guide who will drive you around Santo Domingo and then to the airport for free.

One good thing the entire hotel has free Wi-Fi. Sure you get quite a few more fancy bells and whistles here but probably not worth it. I just got back from DR 4 nites in SD and 3 in BC. Quick note in BC, I stay at the Dominican Bay a very inexpensive AI. 30 per day. The grounds were excellent. The rooms were 2 star quality. The food at buffets was tolerable, nothing fancy but for the price an excellent deal. I noticed many players there with their chicas. I only pushed back a week and by the time I got here everything was back open; However, more construction ensued. Mystik was just dumb to allow Putas at the bar and then let them go upstairs with the guest. It invited to much scrutiny. 305 never really closed, all they did was shut down the bar but you could hit the side fence and get a selection at any time. Only Noticeable change is a reduction of advertisement and noise. The real change was a great reduction in casas bank accounts. My buddy said his cash flow is fugged for the next three months.

The Courtyard on Maximo Gomez is a very clean and Chica friendly hotel. You can get weekend rates as low as $88.00 including breakfast from Thursday thru Sunday. On the website there is a tab for weekend getaways. Very safe area. There is a big differance between the Courtyard and the Mystic. The Mystic rents by the hour. I have rented from him a few times for a few hours, it was easier then going back to the Courtyard. How can you compare the 2 casas? If you have money and breath you can get a room at the Mystic. They will rent to anybody. And there is no comparison in cleanliness. Don't take your socks off!

PS: I sent you a trip report from PR last month. To define chica friendly hotel we have to do an extensive analysis. Chica friendly hotel has two elements: the chica and the hotel. A chica is a member of the female genre which usually has a vagina and two tits that can vary on size. A hotel is a place with more than one room that charges mostly on a daily basis for the rent of the room and the use of the facilities. Hotels do not have vagina or tits. Other thing to consider is the attitude of the dominant element towards the other element, in this case the attitude of the hotel to the chica. If a hotel lets a chica in to visit a guest without being a guest itself then the hotel is chica friendly. If the hotel allows a guest to receive a visit of two unregistered chicas or more then the hotel is multiple guests friendly. As you can see there is math involved here. You have stayed numerous times at the Courtyard in Santo Domingo and the employees there know you, as such they afford you courtesies that probably new guests are not afforded. You have entered the Courtyard with whomever chica you wanted and you had no problems.
A chica friendly hotel is a hotel where you can enter with multiple chicas after you have checked in, without having to had to give the names of the chicas beforehand at the time when you checked in. Usually the large hotels in Santo Domingo are not chica friendly, Marriott Jaragua, Intercontinental V Centanario, Melia. Three other times at the Jaragua, I was stopped by security and the chicas had to wait outside, while I visited my room. There is a big differance between the Courtyard and the Mystic. The Mystic rents by the hour. I have rented from him a few times for a few hours, it was easier then going back to the Courtyard. How can you compare the 2 casas? If you have money and breath you can get a room at the Mystic. They will rent to anybody. And there is no comparison in cleanliness. Don't take your socks off! YES, there is a big difference between the Courtyard and Mystik. In actuality the mystik is cleaner than the courtyard. Worse thing to do is mistake old for dirty. The basic charge for a room is $65 a day. IF your doing the by the hour thing your stupid. Your better off at a love motel. At the Mysyik your getting the same 4 rooms a guy just busted on the sheets three minutes before you checked in for your trist. The overnight rooms are extremely different.
I stay there because the food is good and the owner and his brother Emilio are cool. I have been in the kitchens of all the hotels in that area. TRUST ME, YOUR SAFER EATING AT THE MYSTIK! YES, YOUR SAFER EATING AT THE MYSTIK! I stay in an rented condo at the Malecon Center and go to the Mystik to Eat and when I'm to Drunk to walk back from 305, Girls House, Sky or Mystik itself. Emilio is an EX-US Navel Engineering officer and Jose the Tour Guide / ETC is an X Army OFficer. They have the best connections in the City.

On Maximo Gomez there is McDonalds, Supermercado Nacional, USA Consulate, Barcelo Lina Hotel and two Universities with some pretty chicas, UTESA and APEC. flacothe massage place on cervantes, one block up from independencia offers normal massages, as well as happy ending massages. years ago i found a woman who did massages in her salon in zona colonial, not sure if she is still open. i got her contact info from a brochure at the hotel palacio. price for an hour normal massage was about 500 pesos ($13us). i have gotten over 10 therapeutic massages in dom rep. some are betters than others.

From those in the know, what would be your Top 3 hotels to stay at considering the following criteria:
1. Close to Jaragua.
2. Girl friendly.

I can't figure out why there isn't a link just for hotels since this is probably the single most asked and important question on these forums. I stayed at Jaragua on my first trip that would not allow girls in and the Jaguar Hotel my second trip. It was nice but a little off the beaten path at night. Walking east on Avenida Independencia from the front of Hostal Riazor, toward the direction of zona colonial, the next guest friendly hotel would be the Hotel Mystik on Avenida Pasteur between the Malecon and Avenida Independencia. Around the corner from Hotel Mystik (going east on Independencia) is the Duque de Wellington Hotel which is across the street from club 305, rates for Duque de Wellington start at $47US; http://hotelduque.com/.
Next door to the Hotel Duque de Wellington is the Hotel Navarro, some chicas who work at Foxys live at the Hotel Navarro, price is around $40 per night.

Thanks again.I may try the Clarion Hotel for one or two nights, my next trip, price is around $100US per night. Clarion Hotel is in Naco, not within walking distance of most of the pay for play venues, although Cats should be somewhat close. Clarion has a pool and free wifi, some rooms have been recently refurbished. I have read that guests at the Clarion are offered complimentary admission to the Body Shop Athletic gym, which appears to be a nice gym with a swimming pool, located near the hotel. I have no clue if the Clarion is guest friendly, if it isn't, I can drive to a cabana. Naco seems to be a decent neighborhood.
I looked at photos from the hotel napolitano webpage, the pool and deck surrounding the pool look nice at the napolitano.
Orbitz has various promo codes. Dealpro10 knocks 10% off the room rate. 100vacation knocks $100US off the price of a 7 night, hotel and flight package.
Airfares are not coming down for the next two months, I found cheaper flights flying into Puerto Plata, than for Santo Domingo.

Day 1.
I would like to thank Jaosoua and all others who provided tips and info. The flight in was packed, in fact my wingman was trying to fly on a non rev ticket and he could not get a flight, ended up staying home frustrated. There was an interesting mix of mongers and families en route to Santo Domingo, LOL and unlike other trips most mongers were understandably guarded about the info they gave up on the plane. This was my first mongering trip in two years and it seems I forgot some basic rules:

I was given the name of the taxi guide by a fellow monger, to be honest, the guy was ok but I quickly realized that I didn't need his services. After clearing customs-I am usually one of the first off the plane, since I rarely check any bags and sit near the front of the plane (not necessarily biz or first class) just get a seat in the teen rows and zip by the first class dudes while they linger about. I exited Las Americans and taxi man is nowhere to be found, I called him and he says he is about ten mins away—damn, strike one. No money is discussed as we get to the hotel, they upgraded me to club level, showered and changed—then gave him a call. We go to a cambio and I change 150 US, the exchange rate was 37. 4 or there abouts. This is when I asked about the cost of his services: $40 dollars for the airport ride, and 50 dollars per day. Day is relative I guess. Sorry guys I forget where he took me but they were fair. Another monger told me of another cambio on the conde right across from KFC, did not go just passing the info along.
The best rates are from the banks via the ATMs, for those of you with a credit card with no foreign transaction fee, this is the best route. Simply withdraw your daily allowance and be done with it. Surprisingly, the Jaragua also gives some decent rates as well. 37. 2. We went to a local Dominican restaurant and the prices and food were very good. I spent less than 400 pesos for a salad, arroz and beans, steak, two sodas and a bottle of water. While sitting in the restaurant, a few local chicas walked in and at least two of them were pros. Ok but nothing special. Two of the chicas sat with us and small talk ensued, I wasn't interested but he took her number and some other monger will get to sample her later. It was then I noticed that I lost one of my bank cards and one of my credit card wouldn't work at the banco Popular at the Jaragua. Damn.
Day 3
Of a four day vacation, I decided to recalibrate, cancelled my card and got a decent breakfast from the Jaragua club.The ATM machine in the Jaragua Hotel and Casino keeps the bank card until the transaction is finished, last time I used that ATM, I was in a hurry and walked away from the machine without my card. When I realized I forgot my card, I returned to the machine and it was out of service. At the Jaragua front desk, I was told that the machine destroys cards that are mistakingly forgotten in the machine. Pro-acceso ATM machine or something like that.
Some ATMs only function to give cash, only when you choose Spanish as the transaction language and not English.
Jaragua pool is nice.
Between Sky High and Girls House is Satin Dolls, not sure if they are open now. There are other casas and streetwalkers in Santo Domingo. Club MC, Penthouse, Casa de Modelos, Cats, Pink Pony, the Mansion, Casa Azul, Casa Theresa, Grand Paradise Massage (Doll Palace) , Dreams House and a few others whose names I don't know. Happy ending massage place on Cervantes about 3 blocks from the Jaragua. Paco Club is less than 5 minutes from the airport.
Zona Colonial has some attractive chicas walking around. Eagle Sports Bar is on Autopista San Isidro a few hundred feet from its intersection with Avenida Charles de Gaul. There are numerous cabanas near Eagle (on the other side of Ave. Charles de Gaul).

I would like to thank Jaosoua and all others who provided tips and info. The flight in was packed, in fact my wingman was trying to fly on a non rev ticket and he could not get a flight, ended up staying home frustrated. There was an interesting mix of mongers and families en route to Santo Domingo, LOL and unlike other trips most mongers were understandably guarded about the info they gave up on the plane. This was my first mongering trip in two years and it seems I forgot some basic rules:
Trust your instincts.
Follow the sage advice of experienced mongers.
Always negotiate prices before hand.
Watch your bill at the casas!

I just got off the phone with a freelance pro I met 2 weeks ago in club Nipoliano bar in the hotel on malecon. She was all over me dancing at the bar she had a girl with her but, her girl had a guy and they both made it obvious they were working. I took her number and left. I've had about a month of this shit in the capital. I need to get away. She was very pretty and we spent two hours drinking at the bar, but when she tell me her price I laughed very high! What madness when you konw how many girls are available in DR, and sometimes for 1. 000 pesos.
Then this night in Coppa, I paid the bill at the bar (787 pesos) and let the girl and her claims. And I didn't accept to negotiate anything at this level of price! I recently went on a short trip to STI but did stay my first and last night in SDQ do to airport logistics. This wasn't a mongering trip so I will be brief on my observations. My first day there I checked in to Riazor for a one night stay to be followed by a Caribe Tours bus ride to STI in the morning. I had to change my reservation due to high chemical smells in the rooms they showed me. I believe it was due to the ongoing construction. Everyone in the Riazor was very nice and helpful. I was getting a headache from the smell, maybe my nose is sensitive. I walked around the block to Jaguar and Rapheal set me up in 302.
I hit the streets and began to call the numerous online chicas I had gotten numbers from. One flakier then the next, could not see me."Estoy livre manana papi." I killed time walking el conde and sipping Presidentes at various places. I called up Blk Big Bootyluv to see what he was up to. We had made some plans to meet up in the early evening since he had two chicas coming by and offered one of them. Thanks! I looked on the Google map for "La Castellana" but did not find it. Avenida Churchill is a major north-south street that is located more westerly from where most mongers stay. Use Boricua Online's Santo Domingo Monger Map if you want to get an idea where the Monger venues are located.
Dreams House is off of Avenida Churchill, a block or two north of Avenue 27 de Febrero. I have never been to Dreams House. Plaza Acropolis is on Avenida Churchill about 8 blocks north of Avenue 27 de Febrero, plaza acropolis has a mall, hooters restaurant and docks bar.
Being on Avenida Churchill you will be somewhat closer to certain venues. Pink Pony, Club MC and the Penthouse. The more well known venues will be further east of Avenida Churchill, zona colonial also is further east.
If I knew a cross street with Churchill near where you will be staying, I could give you better info.

After 10 or more trips to Sosua, I don't see myself returning to Sosua, it is just too small. The beach I don't need either, I do love to swim, so a good size pool and I am happy.
Vast majority of the online chicas I meet are in Santo Domingo. From Santo Domingo within about a two hour driving radius (depending on traffic) there are other towns and cities; San Cristobal, Bani, Boca Chica, Juan Dolio, San Pedro de Marcoris, Bonao, La Vega, Moca and Santiago. La Romana, Higuey, Boca de Yuma and Bayahibe. 3 hours or less. Generally easy to drive to the other towns and cities from Santo Domingo (I haven't driven to Bani yet).

Venus de Milo is less than half mile from Castellana, club MC is about a mile. Pink Pony is over half mile north of Castellana. El Penthouse and Mambo Bar are two miles away.

- Hotel Frances near the corner of Hostos and Mercedes (in the Colonial Zone but off limits to Politur & very discrete)
- Cappucino (Italian restaurant across Maximo Gomez from the National Theatre, north of the Texaco station)

The closest beach to Santo Domingo City is in the town of Boca Chica, which is about 35 minutes from the city. Many European guys enjoy Boca Chica. From what I have read, there are a good number of Haitian pros in Boca Chica. Many European guys prefer women with a darker skin color.
Sosua on the North Coast of DR is also preferred by some guys from Europe. Sosua has a good number of Haitian pros and Dominican pros. There are numerous businesses in Sosua and Boca Chica that are owned by people from Europe, including hotels, restaurants, dive shops and cigar stores. Sosua and Boca Chica are beach towns that have some hotels with swimming pools. Boca Chica is about a 4 hour car ride from Sosua.
For Boca Chica, the closest airport would be Las Americas International Airport, (SDQ airport code) , Boca Chica is about 10-15 minutes from this airport. For Sosua, the closest International Airport would be Gregorio Luperóand International Airport (POP airport code) , Sosua is about 10 minutes from this airport.
If you want the beach close-by and if you prefer darker skin women, I would suggest you try Sosua or Boca Chica.
If you want to meet mostly Dominican women and if you want nicer bars or discos and if you can live without the beach, then maybe go to Santo Domingo. There are several guest friendly hotels in Santo Domingo that have pools.

- German beer garden just west of the Napolitano in between Pizzarelli & Pala Pizza (closer to Pala Pizza)
- Hotel Frances near the corner of Hostos and Mercedes (in the Colonial Zone but off limits to Politur & very discrete)
- Cappucino (Italian restaurant across Maximo Gomez from the National Theatre, north of the Texaco station)

La Castellana is not far from Winton Churchill but its exact location is between Gustavo Mejia Ricart and Nunez de Caceres, a little west from Churchill and north of Los Millones, apparently a good area. I looked on the Google map for "La Castellana" but did not find it. Avenida Churchill is a major north-south street that is located more westerly from where most mongers stay. Use Boricua Online's Santo Domingo Monger Map if you want to get an idea where the Monger venues are located.
Dreams House is off of Avenida Churchill, a block or two north of Avenue 27 de Febrero. I have never been to Dreams House. Plaza Acropolis is on Avenida Churchill about 8 blocks north of Avenue 27 de Febrero, plaza acropolis has a mall, hooters restaurant and docks bar.
Being on Avenida Churchill you will be somewhat closer to certain venues. Pink Pony, Club MC and the Penthouse. The more well known venues will be further east of Avenida Churchill, zona colonial also is further east.
If I knew a cross street with Churchill near where you will be staying, I could give you better info.

First of all, some of the comments at the bottom of the piece are VERY funny. I could see a red light district spring up like what the article describes. I don't think it would eliminate the trade in other areas for many reasons. Mostly because it's such a big part of the local culture.
This sort of thing already exists but it's not quite as organized as what's proposed in the story. There are cabana districts all over the country. San Isidro and the western Malecon are probably the best known. Street girls work the surrounding areas of every cabana zone. It's basically a red light district. What is different about the legislator's proposal are minimum wages, health cards, and taxes. That would be Curacao not the Dominican Republic.

The number one difference between colombianas and dominicanas (in my opinion of course) is the literacy rate. Colombia has a much much higher literacy rate than the Dominican Republic. Maybe even more important is a an equally literate Dominican will often be less knowledgeable about current affairs, history, geography among many other things. Because the Dominican Republic is much more culturally isolated than Colombia. So my point is you can have more meaningful conversations with Colombians on average than you can with Dominicans. Of course, that doesn't make much difference when you are balls deep but it makes a big difference before and after.
As far as the money, you can search these forums and you will see a big difference in cost between the two countries. Of course there is not much difference at the upper and lower extrmes of each country's price range. In the midde. E. G. A run of the mill massage parlor. The Domincan Republic is double the price and more/
To generalize about the sex, I don't think there is too big a difference on the whole but in either country the experience you will get at different types of places and with different types of girls can be very different. Check it out for yourself and tell us what you think.

It is easy, all they do is take a copy of theer I'd (cedula) and you sign a disclaimer thet the hotel is not responsible if anything happens to you. No cedula, no entry. Make sure she has an I'd. They are very easy and cordial. No hassles. I have been staying there for 4 or 5 years.
I think in the daytime you may be able to sneak them in, but at night there is a security guard near the elevator.

I am in my riazor room using their wi-fi which signal varies from poor to excellent. It actually works well with a fair connection. One bar is poor. 2 fair. 3 average. 4 good and excellent. They are also adding two levels to their building. I met with Panman and BBL at the airport, had my first Presidente a minute later. His landlord was so shocked at the idea he refused to allow BBL to park his motorcycle in his property if he ever decided to rent one. I suggested he rents one to travel short distances out of the city, no more than 2 hours away, for weekend getaways. If he ever finds a place I'll ask him to post prices here as I'm sure there are several people who would like to know.

It was a pleasant and festive night of Saturday in Santo Domingo. Everybody was getting ready to have fun across the city. A group of girls began to arrive in taxis, motoconchos and donkeys to the malecon area, in specific in front of Torre Veiramar 1 building, next to Hotel V Centenario. By 10 pm it was a group of 200 sexy dressed chicas. 195 of them handling a BlackBerry. Girls were supposedly invited to a summer party via Badoo. Com. Girls, now impatient for the over two hours wait began to yell and scream so a beggar who was sleeping in the malecon area gets awake and he angrily called policia nacional using his Blackberry.
The Policia Nacional arrived but they were not enough to content the riot of chicas so they called the Politur using a Blackberry. Politur arrived thinking the street girls of the malecon area after the Lincoln intersection with malecon decided to move there but they all were yelling something like Sousa, Sosua, Jaosa, it was difficult to determine exactly what they were yelling. The Police captain who has a third year of elementary school diploma decided that they were yelling that they were from Sosua, so they were sent to Sosua. The five chicas without a Blackberry were deported to Haiti.
I had a sick thought recently watching cable TV show Ice Road Truckers. Wouldn't it be crazy to unleash about a dozen Dominican guagua drivers and La Romana jeepeta drivers on one of those ice roads. It wouldn't last long.

A group of girls began to arrive in taxis, motoconchos and donkeys to the malecon area, in specific in front of Torre Veiramar 1 building, next to Hotel V Centenario. ThanksThere are choices in the city but I am not sure there is a like spa place with all that you want. Let me mention some places:
Gran Paradise Center: it is in a mansion in the oriental zone of the city, with pool. It has several rooms and they provide several different kinds of massage. You can have sex with Yanni or the other chicas, with Yanni and his husband, with Yanni and a horse, endless possibilities there.

I had a sick thought recently watching cable TV show Ice Road Truckers. Wouldn't it be crazy to unleash about a dozen Dominican guagua drivers and La Romana jeepeta drivers on one of those ice roads. It wouldn't last long.I wish I had a James Bond car with a missile launcher, for the way some of these fuckers drive in DR.
Arrived around 10am on a weekday. Rented from Alamo, as I always do and was given a new nissan with about 1 thousand miles on the odometer. Went to the Claro shop on the second floor of the SDQ airport, after first putting my luggage in the rental car and left the car in the car rental parking lot. I had not used my Claro DR sim card in over 4 months, no problem, I just had to add minutes, which the chica at the claro shop in the airport did for me and I had the same cell number, no problems. I use a nokia e71 here in DR with a claro sim card. I have a USB cradle and the cradle syncs with my computer (I can send text messages using ovi suite, using my laptop through my cell phone, and read text messages I receive on my cell, on my laptop, the cradle also charges a second battery, so I always have a 100% charged battery).
I met a 20 year old chica online before the trip, she has no kids and studies at a nice private university off of Lincoln, some beautiful homes near one entrance to that University. The chica waited for me for two hours at a mall on the day I arrived. I drove directly from the airport to meet her, with a stop at Pacos to say Hello, to boricua online, who was in pacos (zona colonial) with a pretty chica. After meeting the chica in the mall, I drove to cabana prive on the western end of the malecon (autopista 30 de mayo) , made a deposit in her mouth and drove her to her university.

Sitting at the bar drinking beer and chatting with other friendly tourists, there was a commotion near the pool, about thirty feet away, it was about 5pm, hot and sunny. An 8 year kid drowned in the pool. 30 feet from me, some tourist tried to do CPR. No lifeguards and no one at the hotel seemed to have any rescue training.
I then drove over to embassy suites hotel in juan dolio and met ISG member Revere for the first time. Cool guy, he met me in the lobby for five minutes, because he had just started to pound the dominican chica who was staying with him.

torrential rain in santo domingo now, lots of lighting, the lighting can be beautiful to see in dom rep. over a foot of water rushing down pasteur toward the malecon right now. strong wind, the rain is going sideways. i have never seen this amount of water in the streets of santo domingo. i have a chica here with me, very compliant and sweet, perfect type of dominican chica. no taxis available, very few cars driving in the streets, maybe in an hour, i can get her a taxi, so she can go home, maybe in an hour the streets will be drivable. need a boat to navigate some streets now.
i stayed in a small hotel i never used before in santo domingo and paid $50 per night, very nice small hotel. family type place in gazcue. secure parking, refrigerator in room and small outdoor patio where a person can smoke by opening the sliding doors of the room.
i have been to higuey, santiago, juan dolio and san pedro de marcoris. santiago chicas with me, are 80% of the time, a waste of time. bad service or no service seems to rule the day with santiago chicas. i stayed in santiago for two days and drove back to santo domingo at 1:30am and entered independencia near manolos a little before 3:30am, less than a 2 hour drive from the monument in santiago to independencia near hotel jaragua in santo domingo, at 1:30am. i was not pushing the car, i drove calm because it was late at night.
i did san pedro de marcoris to santo domingo in about 35-40 minutes, speed about 140 kilometers per hour, nice sunny day without much traffic.

The Hotel Frances is a charming boutique hotel owned by the Accor group. The same company that owns the Mercure and Nicolas de Ovando. It's very conveniently located just around the corner from the Mercure. Enjoy.

The day Riazor construction employees began at 7:52 a. M. To hit the building with hammers during the construction process I yelled "mal rayo parta carajo!". The day a cab driver tried to charge me 500 pesos for two transfers I yelled "mal rayo te parta cabron" and paid him 250 pesos. They day I noticed I spent $75. 00 for a bottle of Grey Goose and a bottle of Patron for a "no summer party" I yelled: "let's buy some lemons and cranberry juice to drink this!".

i would strongly recommend hotel palacio in that price range. it is chica friendly. 300p for a chica at night, better location, nicer furnishings and a pool on the roof. only downside is the breakfast sucks.to hell with the hotel palacio. i saw the owner of the hotel palacio, german guy named george, on el conde the other day and i said hello, to him, he didn't respond and he looked at me like i was a piece of garbage. the manager of the hotel palacio is a german guy in his 40's who drives a silver mercedes, that guy is not overly friendly either. a few workers at the hotel palacio are pleasant. most of the female women who work at the front desk of the hotel palacio are grumps. one thing that is generally better in santiago is customer service from male workers in some hotels and restaurants. montezuma restaurant in front of the monument in santiago, every-time i have visited in the early afternoon, the guys working there have always been great, same for the hodelpa hotels in santiago, very friendly guys who go out of there way to help me.
hotel palacio is not the only hotel in santo domingo with grumpy reception women. the two women who work the front desk at the hotel venezia are not overly smiley, with the younger less attractive one, really not friendly.
i stayed at the hotel venezia for a few nights this past trip, no internet for two days, air-conditioner would only function on a very slow speed, it did not pump out huge amounts of cold air. i paid one day at the venezia using a 500 peso bill that i had received somewhere else, that had a small piece of the corner torn off. two days later the woman at the front desk of hotel venezia gave the bill back to me and told me i had to give her another 500 peso bill, which i did, i didn't feel like arguing. i used the torn 500 peso bill to pay for beers at capricho (casa de chicas) in juan dolio, with greek niko. another night i entered the hotel venezia with an online chica and i told the younger woman at the front desk, that the chica would visit for 30 minutes, i had to pay a 500 peso guest fee, first time that happened to me at hotel venezia. no internet for two days, barely functioning air conditioning unit, you think the hotel venezia would refund part of the room rate, good luck, not happening and 500 peso fee for a chica to enter the room, grumpy front desk women at the hotel venezia. i found a better small hotel in santo domingo on a quiet side street, with friendly workers, wifi in room, strong air-conditioner and a friendly owner (not the jaguar).

Nicholas Ovando is expensive, sometimes around $200US per night. Hotel Frances is about $140US per night. Hotel Frances is an old colonial building with thick walls, built with large stone blocks, good location, a few blocks from the cathedral and hard rock cafe.
Hotel Villa Colonial on Calle Sanchez, beautiful hotel inside with a small in ground pool, rates are around $65-$75 per night. I have not stayed at Villa Colonial, there is no sign outside saying it is hotel and when I visited, seems there no guests there, the owner might be a bit loca. I will re post photos from Villa Colonial.
Hotel Dona Elvira is in an old colonial building with a pool. Hotel El Beaterio is in a former 499 year old monastery on calle duarte in zona colonial, nice rooms.
Edificio Read building on calle duarte in zona colonial rents out apartments starting at $35 per night, one block south of el conde.
Narai building is nice in zona colonial, roof top pool, in a newly remodeled colonial building, apartment rentals around $100 per night, with secure underground parking and an elevator.

-the raid has evened out the quality of chicas a bit but 305 still has the best selection imho.

independencia is dead at night, less than 10 streetwalkers out and about the nights i walked independencia. streetwalkers are rep001tered around the city, calle danae a few blocks up from independencia had a few sws. pain in the ass street to find, to drive south on at the beginning. calle danae has about 5 small hotels. isg member revere was staying at the hotel riparbella and i told him i would drive over to his hotel from hotel venezia, pain in the ass to drive to that street, some ******* must have been drunk on rum when he decided which streets would be one way and which direction they would flow. it was night when i drove over to hotel riparbella, and i couldn't find the beginning of calle danae (supposedly a one way street going south). i decided to ask some dominican guy for directions, this was in the gazcue section of santo domingo. the dominican guy was about 30 years old, standing on a sidewalk with no shirt. i stopped my car near him and asked him for directions to calle danae, he had something silver in his hand, i thought it was a cell phone. the guy looked at me, it was around 8pm, and he told me in a slurred, drunken speech that he has an arma (gun) and sure enough on closer inspection he had a silver plated 9 millimeter pistol in his hand. i drove away.

i have not been bothered by the policia nacional in san pedro de marcoris or in higuey.

Avenida Independencia at night in Gazcue is DEAD. I visited club 305 one time, for one beer. I was with ISG member Revere and I was showing him various places. I never went into another casa the rest of my trip in DR. Lapsus chicas are locas and Lapsus has lousy air conditioning and lapsus has some fugly chicas, with a few cute ones. I had fun with my long time prior friends and some newer chicas who go to University such as Catholic University off of Lincoln. I don't need the casas or streetwalkers to enjoy myself in DR.
I also don't confine myself to Santo Domingo. I drive where and when I want in DR. Or what?I confirmed the apartment was available a month before the party, then a week before the party, then about three days before the party, I arrived in DR midweek and spent my first two nights in Juan Dolio and then headed into Santo Domingo on the Friday before the party to get the keys to the apartment. I met the guy, who gives me the keys to the apartment, on Friday, with ISG member Revere. I was informed that the owner of the apartment had to give the apartment to some relative who had surgery and could not travel, as such I could not use the apartment that weekend, as such the fiesta was cancelled. One taxi driver I know in Santo Domingo told me I could use the restaurant of a friend of his in Gazcue for a party, I spoke with Koki about that option and we agreed that would not be a good alternative. I stayed in the apartment two nights this past week and BBL and his Spanish professor visited.

He decided to rent from from some no name company at the the airport in Santo Domingo. He was given some 9 year old car. On his second or third day in DR, he was driving into Santo Domingo on Las Americas highway at 50mph or more and the front hood of the car suddenly popped open and hit the windshield, blocking his view of the road. He told me that the car eventually crashed into the side barrier. He told me to this post this information, as a warning to be careful, with whomever you may rent a car from in the DR.
I rent from Alamo and always choose the glass / tire insurance. I had two flat tires on the same day this past trip, the tires were new Bridgestones. Both tires had v shaped gouges in the sidewalls. Alamo sent a truck to my hotel with two new tires and the Alamo guy changed one tire. Policia Nacional guys changed the other tire (not all Policia Nacional guys are bad).

to hell with the hotel palacio. i saw the owner of the hotel palacio, german guy named george, on el conde the other day and i said hello, to him, he didn't respond and he looked at me like i was a piece of garbage. the manager of the hotel palacio is a german guy in his 40's who drives a silver mercedes, that guy is not overly friendly either. a few workers at the hotel palacio are pleasant. most of the female women who work at the front desk of the hotel palacio are grumps. one thing that is generally better in santiago is customer service from male workers in some hotels and restaurants. montezuma restaurant in front of the monument in santiago, every-time i have visited in the early afternoon, the guys working there have always been great, same for the hodelpa hotels in santiago, very friendly guys who go out of there way to help me.
hotel palacio is not the only hotel in santo domingo with grumpy reception women. the two women who work the front desk at the hotel venezia are not overly smiley, with the younger less attractive one, really not friendly.
i stayed at the hotel venezia for a few nights this past trip, no internet for two days, air-conditioner would only function on a very slow speed, it did not pump out huge amounts of cold air. i paid one day at the venezia using a 500 peso bill that i had received somewhere else, that had a small piece of the corner torn off. two days later the woman at the front desk of hotel venezia gave the bill back to me and told me i had to give her another 500 peso bill, which i did, i didn't feel like arguing. i used the torn 500 peso bill to pay for beers at capricho (casa de chicas) in juan dolio, with greek niko. another night i entered the hotel venezia with an online chica and i told the younger woman at the front desk, that the chica would visit for 30 minutes, i had to pay a 500 peso guest fee, first time that happened to me at hotel venezia. no internet for two days, barely functioning air conditioning unit, you think the hotel venezia would refund part of the room rate, good luck, not happening and 500 peso fee for a chica to enter the room, grumpy front desk women at the hotel venezia. i found a better small hotel in santo domingo on a quiet side street, with friendly workers, wifi in room, strong air-conditioner and a friendly owner (not the jaguar).on my last visit when i stayed there i spoke to that guy and he barely spoke like it really pained him to speak to me and the look he gave me was how dare you speak to me. right or wrong i got the impression that he was one of those europeans that really did not care for americans and displayed that disdain that some (not all) have for americans.
I would like to recommend that all of you be very very careful saying these words to anyone. I can think of very few situations outside casas where you wouldn't be in big trouble after saying this. Even in casas you could be making a problem for yourselves.

I stayed in SDQ from June 21 to 28 and divided my time between two hotels: Riazor from June 21 to 24 and Jaguar from June 24 to 28. Jaguar was by far a better stay then Riazor because of the construction in progress in Riazor. They are building two more levels of rooms and although noise do not affect my sleep time it was annoying to hear noises while watching television. Riazor has a better location to Gazcue casas than Jaguar but it is just a 2 blocks advantage, not that much. Both hotels provide good service, but the service I received in Jaguar this time was unbelievable: I called to reception for any specific need and a person arrived less than ten seconds later to help. Riazor has better facilities in terms of access, they have stairs and elevators, Jaguar has stairs only. Both hotels have in room wi-fi but Jaguar signal was consistently better than in Riazor. You have to bring your own personal items to Jaguar (soap, shampoo) , Riazor provides it. Riazor bathrooms are more confortable (larger) than Jaguar. A / C worked great in both places but Jaguar also provides a ceiling fan that helps refresh the room better. Jaguar beds are the best I have ever used in Santo Domingo, I have stayed at Jaragua, Melia, Napolitano, Mercure, Navarro, Riazor, Conde de Penalba and has visited Discovery and Hispaniola but Jaguar beds can't be beaten in confort. One big advantage of Jaguar versus Riazor is that Jaguar is multiple guest friendly, Riazor allows one guest only. I stayed at room 301 because my room 302 was occupied by somebody else, I later learned that it was Koki the guest there but do not have the chance to meet him, maybe next time. Enricos was also there as I was informed later by him.
Panman picked me at the airport with BBL, seconds later I was drinking my first Presidente. I checked in, had lunch with the guys in Villar, I have no problems with my Claro cell phone. We went to Franks to exchange money; it was 38 pesos per dollar exchange. BBL bought sunglasses for half price but had problems to bargain on chewing gum. I went to GBP with Panman and Kenia was there so I paid 1, 000 pesos for a nice GFE with her. The girls were a little shy that day. I went back with BBL and Panman in July 27 and it was funny, more girls, some very nice looking ones and a nice atmosphere. The parking garage is tiny and one night some other car parked behind my car in the garage and the workers at the Palacio did not know whose car it was and I could not get my car out of the lot that night and hence I was without car for one night.
Palacio charges a guest fee after 9pm.
There are better and nicer hotels in Santo Domingo, with workers and owners who are polite and friendly.
If you get a room on the north part of the hotel, up some small staircase, the A / C will probably suck in those rooms and when I was there, some of those rooms had the doors and windows open and the rooms looked like a crime scene.
La Roma Apart Hotel just off the conde isn't a bad place either. You guys don't seem to talk about it much.There are two Roma hotels in zona colonial, one on calle duarte and another one two or three blocks away.
