There is a girl who is a internet contact and a friend of my favorite girl that has huge tits, she lives in Higuey but she visits Santo Domingo on a weekly basis. She told me she believes the Higuey chica is a 'Coppa girl'. If anybody sees her in Coppa call 911, my heartbeat increases every time I see her pics.

The chica in sky high told me she was from puerto plata and that she had been with daddy yankee, calle something guy and some other famous puerto rican guys. I saw her a few times walking around in zona colonial early in the day in normal clothes and bought a beer for her at hard rock. I saw her again when I stopped in sky high last week. Big tetas, Big lips, not tall, dark skin. I can't remember her name in sky high.

Definitely a mammalian species.Well, I for one am attracted to the mammalian species and the bigger the better (ok, ok. Within a weight controlled limit). Question: how naturally endowed are the DR women and / or should I be concerned when I see a fine sample that it is not the work of God? Just for information, I hate the man-made kinds.

I stayed in SDQ from June 21 to 28 and divided my time between two hotels: Riazor from June 21 to 24 and Jaguar from June 24 to 28. Jaguar was by far a better stay then Riazor because of the construction in progress in Riazor. They are building two more levels of rooms and although noise do not affect my sleep time it was annoying to hear noises while watching television. Riazor has a better location to Gazcue casas than Jaguar but it is just a 2 blocks advantage, not that much. Both hotels provide good service, but the service I received in Jaguar this time was unbelievable: I called to reception for any specific need and a person arrived less than ten seconds later to help. Riazor has better facilities in terms of access, they have stairs and elevators, Jaguar has stairs only. Both hotels have in room wi-fi but Jaguar signal was consistently better than in Riazor. You have to bring your own personal items to Jaguar (soap, shampoo) , Riazor provides it. Riazor bathrooms are more confortable (larger) than Jaguar. A / C worked great in both places but Jaguar also provides a ceiling fan that helps refresh the room better. Jaguar beds are the best I have ever used in Santo Domingo, I have stayed at Jaragua, Melia, Napolitano, Mercure, Navarro, Riazor, Conde de Penalba and has visited Discovery and Hispaniola but Jaguar beds can't be beaten in confort. One big advantage of Jaguar versus Riazor is that Jaguar is multiple guest friendly, Riazor allows one guest only. I stayed at room 301 because my room 302 was occupied by somebody else, I later learned that it was Koki the guest there but do not have the chance to meet him, maybe next time. Enricos was also there as I was informed later by him.

I spent my last day with Panman and BBL on daytime and then the night with Franchesca. I went with Franchesca to Blue Mall to see the Hangover 2, 250 pesos tickets, and a dinner at Chilis. Chilis is at the top of the mall with an open terrace, it has a nice view of the modern part of the city. She spent the last night with me and has called me everyday since then. Hmm. She gets robbed the day after my trip, the guys stole her Blackberry. I believe she was expecting me to pay for her Blackberry and believed that is the reason she has been calling everyday but she has a new Blackberry. She called me minutes ago.I was thinking about these 2 particular hotels. So would these be the ideal place for a newbie to the DR? I would imagine the construction would be finished before I get there in late Sept.

I received a PM asking about the location and photos of GBP. I posted these photos almost two years ago but will repost for the newbies.

GBP from Gascue: Take Avenida Bolivar to Avenida Lincoln and make a right. Proceed on Lincoln to 27 de febreo and make a right. Go past Supermercado Nacional and just past the gas station on the right you will come to an auto dealership. GBP is on the opposite corner from the auto dealer on the second level. The stairway is located on the side of the building.Wow, funny. I read a lot of pages trying to see what GBP meant. I was about to ask. I see the pictures and see GBP stands for GBP. Haha

I will be in santo domingo from July 21-24. I will be celebrating my 30th birthday. I'm staying at the courtyard Marriott and my Spanish isn't too good. I know a few words and question to start a simple convo. Just wondering if the courtyard Marriott is a good spot to meet chicks if not what other hotels are better? My Spanish is not great. Will I have a hard time meeting chicks? Where is a good spot to meet chicks. Sorry for all the questions.

I saw a few pics on the forum and they're really nice. Hope I will meet some ladies that look like them.

Without much Spanish, you will have a hard time picking up "normal" women, unless you are Brad Pitt. The old, fat and ugly ones are always friendly. Courtyard by Marriott is on Avenida Maximo Gomez, which is a busy street, sometimes with bumper to bumper traffic. There is a large supermarket, two universities and a US government office on Maximo Gomez as well as other businesses. I never saw any pros walking around Maximo Gomez.

As a newbie without much Spanish, probably best to stick with the casa chicas or the freelancers that still walk around various parts of santo domingo. Club 305 is probably the best place for a newbie who does not speak much Spanish. The owner of Club 305 speaks perfect English, so any questions you can ask him directly in English.

To make your life easier, you may want to change to a different hotel, closer to where you can find freelancers and the casas. Hostal Riazor is directly behind the Jaragua Hotel and Casino and from the Riazor you can easily walk to at least 5 casas. From the Riazor you can easily walk to zona colonial, where there are some freelancers who walk around or who lounge in Pacos Cafe on El Conde.

Staying at the Marriot on Avenida Maximo Gomez, you will need to take taxis every day, traffic in Santo Domingo during rush hour can be super slow.

Next door to the Hostal Riazor (it is a hotel but the sign says hostal) is a restaurant that is open 24/7 and at least one waiter at manolos restaurant speaks English. Riazor is on a major street, behind one of the larger hotel and casinos in Santo Domingo, so for a newbie it can easily be found. Other hotels are on side streets, which sometimes can be more difficult to find for newbies. I have never stayed at the Riazor.

Personally, I don't like to be in taxis in Dom Rep, some taxi drivers try to overcharge, some taxis are beat up pieces of shit and to sit in slow moving traffic is not the most enjoyable way to spend a trip.

If you stay at the Riazor or one of the other guest friendly hotels in the same area, you can walk around and find various options for women.

Riazor is about $60 per night.

Look at Boricua Online's google monger map and you can get an idea, where different venues are located.

Next door to Hostal Riazor is Manolos restaurant, open 24/7. Manolos sits on the corner, at that corner, Hotel Jaguar is about two blocks north, very close to the Riazor, but Jaguar is on a small side street, which can be a little dark and lonely to walk to, late at night.

Next door to the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel is the Hotel Melia and Casino. Coppa is located in the Hotel Melia and is about a 3 block walk from Riazor and about 5 blocks from Jaguar.

Lapsus has a bunch of chicas and is about one block from the Riazor. Supposedly La Parada casa is reopening, I drove by there recently and it looked like they were open.

I also noticed coppa bar next to the coast. Is that also a good place to meet chicks?Coppa has a bit of a reputation as a hangout for pro chicas. If you are unsure if some chica in Coppa is a pro, you can discreetly ask one of the waiters. Mint disco in hotel napolitano about 6 blocks from coppa, on the malecon (the seaside street is named Avenida George Washington, but most people refer to it as the malecon, el malecon) , mint gets a lighter skin younger crowd, mostly non-pros, some techno type music at Mint.

Hotel napolitano is guest friendly, has a pool and is located closer to zona colonial and is a few blocks from the baby dolls, foxys and D'Luis Parrilada restaurant. D'Luis Parrillada is a good, open air restaurant that sits on the seaside, reasonable prices, good service, meat is good at D'Luis. Some places in santo domingo print the bill (la cuenta) in pesos, dollars and euros.

Hey guys,

First time poster. I have traveled extensively around South America and a little bit of mongering is always part of the itinerary. I started when I was in the military and take at least one trip to South America every year. Although, I don't like to consider myself a mongerer, let's face facts. Anyways, A couple of questions:

A couple of questions about SD. I will be staying at the Jaguar. I speak fluent spanish.

1. Is there any one thing that's really different (or that I need to know) about SD than other latin countries when it comes to mongering?

2. Can you pay a hotel to use their pool for the day? If yes, can you recommend one that's close.

3. Can you recommend some day activities that are outdoorish? I usually like to snorkel etc. For example, last year I took a boat for the day to some islands off the coast of Cartagena.

4. For those who have stayed at the Jaguar, I called and spoke to Rafael. I sent him my itinerary. He said he would have someone pick me up at the airport. He also didn't take any credit card information. Is this the norm?

Also, thanks to Jaosousa for some great tips. Etc. Also, if anyone is there this time in August, let me know and maybe we can meet up for a drink.

After looking at both hotels I choose Jaguar. It's alot cheaper than my original hotel. What other advice you would give a person travelling to Santo Domingo solo?Best rooms at Jaguar are upstairs I believe the cost is $55-$60. $45 rooms are smaller. They have excellent wi-fi. Bring your own soap-shampoo, they do not provide it. There is a Supermarket a block away, see the map.

If you take a taxi always ask the price before getting inside. The cost for intra city transfers should be between 120 to 200 pesos for larger distances. If you pay more they are ripping you off.

Always try to know what a girl can give you before taking it to your room. You hotel is multiple guest friendly so no need for a cabana or short term rent hotel.

Price in casas is from 1, 000 pesos (GBP, Playboy Palace) the casas near your hotel are mostly in the 3, 000-3, 500 price range. I believe you should visit 305 first if you walk from your hotel. GBP is a 150 pesos taxi ride, Playboy Palace a near 20 minute walk.

After looking at both hotels I choose Jaguar. It's alot cheaper than my original hotel. What other advice you would give a person travelling to Santo Domingo solo?Do NOT exchange Dollars for pesos with any guys who may approach you while walking around on Independencia or other streets, they offer great rates, but they will try and do a scam with the money and you will get ripped off. Franks on El Conde, Banks, and a few other exchange places are reputable. In zona colonial off of el conde, there is one corner where exchange guys stand. I have seen those guys chatting with Politur, so they are probably reputable. If some guy approaches you in the street offering a great exchange rate, just say no gracias and ignore him.

A few blocks from Jaguar hotel is the supermarket La Cadena, on Calle Cervantes one block north of Avenida Independencia. You can visit that supermarket and buy soda, beer, juice, chips, bottles of alcohol, etc. Prices are clearly marked at that supermarket, prices are good.

If you can, bring an unlocked GSM cell phone that uses sim cards and you can buy a sim card to use with Claro, with minutes included, for under 500 pesos (appx $13US) , on the second floor of the airport (SDQ airport, Las Americas International, Santo Domingo). Roaming charges to use your cell in the DR can be expensive. If you don't have an unlocked GSM cell phone, you can buy a cheap, new cell at Claro, for around 500 pesos or less, with minutes included.

Just about all ATM machines in DR charge a $5US fee and your bank may charge a $5US international service fee, so to withdraw money from an ATM may cost you $10US per transaction. The Banco Leon ATM would only let me withdraw 2000 pesos at a time, terrible, so I don't use their machines. Banco Popular let you withdraw 5000 pesos or more per transaction.

Many ATM machines (caja automatica) will only let you withdraw cash, only when you chose Spanish as the language for the transaction. Efectivo is cash, corriente or cheques is for checking accounts.

Some machines keep your card until the end of the transaction, try not to walk away from the machine with your card still in the machine, you will not get the card back (I have lost a few cards in DR by forgetting they are still in the machine and walking away).

Many businesses in Santo Domingo will take Dollars, so don't drive yourself nuts if you don't have pesos right away. Bring some one dollar bills, that you can use to tip various people who may help you.

If you are at some location and you need to take a taxi back to the Jaguar and the taxi driver doesn't know where it is located, you can always say take me to the Jaragua (Ha-rog-wa) , letter J is pronounced like an H. Jaragua is a large well known hotel and casino and you can walk from the Jaragua to the Jaguar, or carry the Hotel's business card, so a taxi driver can call the hotel and ask for directions.

Ezetop and Etopuponline are companies whereby you can add minutes to a cell phone using the internet and a credit or bank card. Otherwise you can buy cards for claro and orange at colmados and pharmacies or use kiosks that have started to appear in some pharmacies, you can add 60 pesos. 100 pesos. 250 pesos. 500 pesos in minutes to your DR cell.

A2B transfers probably has the best rates for a shared transfer from the airport into the city; http://www.a2btransfers.com/

Girls House on Avenida Pasteur, next door to Satin Dolls and Sky High, generally has a bad reputation, beware if you decide to take some chica out of Girls House.

You don't have to buy a chica a drink in any casa you enter, if you like a chica you can offer to buy her a beer, you are not obligated. Baileys and other drinks in the casas can be expensive, it is up to you if you want to spend that money, it is not necessary.

PDThere is a small somewhat dirty beach near D'Luis Parrilada restaurant on the malecon. I have never seen anyone enter the water from that small beach. When people in santo domingo want the beach, they go to boca chica or juan dolio. There is also a small beach between boca chica and juan dolio. Boca chica chica beach is about 30-35 minutes from santo domingo. Small buses run back and forth between santo domingo and boca chica, the small buses are called gua guas. You can ask someone at your hotel where to get the gua gua to playa boca chica.

There are some mangroves off the beach at boca chica, not bad for snorkeling, a panga type boat can take you from the beach to where the mangroves are, for snorkeling. Boca Chica beach is not the most scenic beach in DR. I prefer Juan Dolio during the week, the water gets deep fast and has waves. Juan Dolio is very quiet during the week. Boca Chica and Juan Dolio get crowded on the weekends.

Zona Colonial is nice in the daytime, pedestrian only street in zona colonial is called El Conde. Hotel Conde del Penalbe sits on El Conde in front of a park near the cathedral and has an outdoor cafe with tables and umbrellas, where you can sit, drink and watch the people walk by. Hard Rock is half a block away from there and also has an outdoor seating area in front, with tables with large umbrellas. A presidente beer at the hard rock cafe is about 212 pesos and you can pay with dollars, euros or pesos. Hard Rock on a Friday or Saturday night, oftentimes has some pretty chicas.

Bocanegro bar just up a side street from Hotel Conde del Penalbe, one night had a special event, I saw some fine, rich chicas going into that bar.

Best to try and limit your credit card use in the DR. Credit card fraud is a problem in DR. Seems credit card info is sold by some people in DR, and thereafter a clone of your card is made and purchases are then made in countries like Mexico and Germany.

Mastercard and Visa usually charge a fee to the merchants to process the transaction, so some merchants prefer people not use credit cards.

There are various museums and churches in zona colonial.

Some casas say they are open 24/7, I have entered some casas early in the day, usually the chicas are just waking up and are usually in pajamas with the hair net thing on their head (called a tuvi in DR or tubie).

2. Can you pay a hotel to use their pool for the day? If yes, can you recommend one that's close.

PDEl Embajador Hotel (The Ambassador) , has the best pool that I have used in santo domingo and is guest friendly, but is located far from the main mongering area. I read on the website for the Hotel Napolitano, that they offer the use of their pool for a fee. I have only seen their pool in photos. The pool at the Hilton is very shallow and almost useless for swimming, for doing laps. The pool at the Hotel Santo Domingo is not bad.

In zona colonial there are some hotels with pools, Hotel Dona Elvira has a medium size pool, Palacio Hotel has a small pool and Hotel Villa Colonial has a small in ground pool.

Body Shop Athletic has two gyms in Santo Domingo, their gym in the Naco neighborhood has a pool, http://www.clubbodyshop.com/app/new/frontpage.aspx

Body Shop Athletic supposedly sells daily or short term memberships. Naco is a good neighborhood. There is an Olympic type park in Santo Domingo, not sure if they have a pool there.

Someone know a hotel very close to the bus station Caribe Tours? For a short night's sleep. Not too expensive.Last bus to Santiago from Santo Domingo, with I believe the bus company Cibao Express on Avenida Kennedy, is at 10pm. I don't know the schedule for caribe tours or Metro to Puerto Plata.

One Caribe Tours bus station is on Avenida 27 de Febrero not far from zona colonial and not far from the Gazcue neighborhood, where there are numerous hotels. A decent hotel will cost $40 and up per night. Some hotel on El Conde in zona colonial has a sign on their door saying they have rooms for $20US. I never went into that hotel and don't remember the name.

Hotel Navarro runs about 1300 pesos (about $34US) , the last time I checked.

To save money you can do a shared transfer into santo domingo from the airport with A2B transfer, rate might be around $16US.

The taxi from hotel navarro to caribe tours bus station, should be less than 200 pesos.

Hotel Navarro is located on Avenida Independencia, near several other small hotels, several casas are located from 1/2 half block to two blocks from that hotel. Also some SWs still ply their trade near the hotel navarro at night and also on calle danae (calle danae intersects with independencia).

Some chicas from Foxys live at hotel navarro. Foxys is an expensive pay for play venue in santo domingo.

Playboy Palace is inexpensive and would be about a ten minute walk from the navarro. GBP depending on traffic, a ten minute or more taxi ride away.

Hey guys,

4. For those who have stayed at the Jaguar, I called and spoke to Rafael. I sent him my itinerary. He said he would have someone pick me up at the airport. He also didn't take any credit card information. Is this the norm?

PDRafael is a person you can trust. Some hotels as for example Riazor and Jaguar do not take credit card info for reservations. Just be sure to follow up on your reservation a couple of days before your trip to avoid any problem.

Perhaps you know this too? How long does a taxi take to drive from Santo Domingo Airport to the Caribe Tours bus station?

Last bus to puerto plata is at 7 pm. Last to santiago is at 8 hours.

I come, without delay, at 5. 30 pm in the airport of Santo Domingo.

Than, maybe I could get the last bus.

What is there to do in Santo Domingo during the day?

Is there a beach near by.

I don't think I was going to this place, just curious. What's the bad reputation about that place?Various complaints by other ISG members when they took chicas out of Girls House, poor service or no service chicas and management at Girls House that was rude and threatening to one ISG member when he complained about a poor service / no service chica.

The owner of Club 305 is a very nice guy.

With any pro in DR, might be a good idea to ask her some questions before you choose her, sexo oral sin condon? (oral sex without condom?) , dos leches? (two pops?) etc.

Thanks, FoxLadrons (thieves) who are scammers will approach tourists on some streets in zona colonial and gazcue, they promise great exchange rates, but all they will do is try and scam you and you will probably lose money. Best to stick with the reputable exchange places and banks.

The biggest delay getting out of the Santo Domingo Airport, is the wait for the checked baggage at the baggage carousal. Immigration is fast (US tourist have to buy a $10 tourist when you get off the airplane, before immigration).

Caribe Tours is not far from the Juan Bosch Bridge, one of at least bridges that cross the river ozama.

Assuming you get out of the airport by 6:15pm, you could possibly make it to Caribe Tours bus station by 7pm. The delay will probably be some rush hour traffic on Avenida 27 de Febrero on the other side of the bridge.

On a Sunday morning, with no traffic, I have driven from Maximo Gomez and the Malecon to the airport in 15 minutes.

When you choose the taxi, you may want to ask if he has a new car, that he can drive fast.

Thanks, FoxThe English phrase you are looking for is Black Market. No there is no advantage changing money in the street versus a bank or change bureau, because it is all perfectly legal, so there is no significant premium on foreign currency.

Is this a good, reliable company. They have a good service?I believe you want to get to Puerto Plata. Caribe Tours or Metro Bus Company is the least expensive way to get to Puerto Plata from Santo Domingo. If you want to try and catch the last bus to Puerto Plata on the day that you arrive, then the fastest way to get to from the airport to the caribe tours bus station in santo domingo, is by taxi.

A2B has received good reviews on this board and seems A2B operates or arranges transportation in many different countries, from their website: "A2Btransfers provide both individuals and travel agents with a comprehensive range of international transfers, from airports, harbors and resorts via taxi, minibus, coach and even helicopter. All requirements can be met. Transfers can be booked online in 3 easy steps. We also provide instant online confirmation, cancellation and amendment of your booking."

I have not read of anyone get ripped off by A2B.

A badoo chica my last trip, sent me a text message, saying she was a pro. I asked her how much, she said 6000 pesos for two hours (she is not fine). I did not see her. A badoo chica the other day online, the third thing she wrote, she wanted money, then she told me in badoo, she would do a show on webcam, if I sent her 5000 pesos (which is not going to happen). Another badoo chica I met in person in Santo Domingo my last trip, she came to me meet, with her sister. I talked with her for a few hours where I was staying and I then had to go somewhere, she told me if I paid her 2000 pesos then and there, she would see me later in the night, I didn't give her 2000 pesos.

There are some "normal" chicas in badoo and other sites (including facebook) and there are pros and there are some who are scammers and would be thieves, on these sites.

SamVillas with pools are usually in the beach towns. Some very nice villas for rent in Juan Dolio. Some freelancers in juan dolio, as well as at least two casas in juan dolio. You could always drive over to boca chica and get freelancers and take them back to juan dolio.

There are some homes for rent, for people on vacation in Santo Domingo, none that I saw had a pool and none were close to the mongering action.

You could try to rent some apartments in the same building, one or two bedroom apartments in a condominium building, that has a communal pool, may not be easy getting three short term apartment rentals in the same building, at the same time.

Search online in google, vacation rentals santo domingo or vacation rentals juan dolio. Boca Chica, I don't know if villas are available in boca.

Years ago a bunch of guys stayed at the hotel palacio in zona colonial, there was at least ten guys. They had tables outside their rooms, with bottles of alcohol, they were playing cards, smoking cigars, etc. They invited some chicas to the small pool at the palacio. I don't like the management of the hotel palacio, but if you want to be all together with your friends, in the same building, with an available pool, in Santo Domingo, hotel palacio might be an option. Zona Colonial is close to some venues.

She also ripped me and my buddy off by saying the price was 1500 per girl instead of 1000pesos. I was kinda pissed about that when I got back to the states and saw what the real price was. So, I land at the airport in Santo Domingo a few weeks ago. Of course, I spoke to Jaosousa and he hooked me up with a sweet deal with Alamo. So, what does my dumb ass do when I walk out of customs I see my novia's for the night she looks good (met her in the barrio when I first visited Santo Domingo) and I am taking her to Juan Dolio for a night. I saw my friend Lucas who works for the police and is a captain in the airport. He has always looked out for me so when he say's rent from his cousin at a no name rental car place like a dummy I did. Do not worry it get's better.

So, I bang my novia (18 years old, great body, nice face, no kids) she is real inexperienced, but hey everyone can be taught. She will do anything I ask BBBJ, cim, but I never pushed anal. I stayed at the embassy suites in Juan Dolio it was nice place if you just want to chill with a girl.

Anyway, I drop her off the next day at bus stop and she takes bus back to Santo Domingo. I decide to go to Boca Chica for the day and see what I can score. I ended up not liking anything I see so I decide to call and meet my other novia in Santo

Domingo. I was pretty buzzed at this point, but lesson learned always still need to be careful. Anyway, I am driving back to

Santo Domingo on the main highway I past the airport and you know how fast people drive. I was just keeping up with the

Traffic flow when suddenly my front hood opens and smashes the front winshield and I blow a tire at the same time. So, now I.

Cannot see out the front winshield and I am going approximately 80 mph with a flat tire. I survived, but I was a little banged

Up and very lucky.

Now, here where it is important to have a good police contact. I was definitely buzzed, but when the police came I already had my contact on the phone who talked to them and they screamed at the rent a car people.

Moral of the story stick with the major rent a car companies no matter who tells you to go with another.

SamSanto Domingo is unlike Rio in Brasil. Rio in Brasil has beaches in the city. Santo Domingo would be similar to Manhattan, New York, has coastline, but really no places where people enter the water to swim. And like Manhattan, when people want the beach they head out of the city.

The closest beach with lots of people, to Santo Domingo, would be playa boca chica, about 30-35 minutes from Santo Domingo. Juan Dolio to Santo Domingo about 45 minutes (depending on fast you may want to drive).

Taking taxis back and forth between Juan Dolio and Santo Domingo, would be expensive, probably something like $50US each way.

If you want to monger in Santo Domingo, there are condominium rentals in buildings with pools, there are guest friendly hotels in Santo Domingo with pools. El Conde is the pedestrian only street in zona colonial, which stretches for about 10-12 blocks, with shops, restaurants, hotels and some freelancers. Hotel Roma is off el conde on calle duarte, if my memory is correct. I have never stayed at the hotel roma. Hotel Palacio is also on calle duarte, near el conde.

You could always rent an apartment (s) or hotel rooms in santo domingo and do a day trip to the beaches, either boca chica or juan dolio. You could take the local buses, called gua guas, one way fare will be under $3US.

There are a few short term house rentals in santo domingo that I saw, but I don't recall seeing any with pools.

In Santo Domingo there are various guest friendly lodgings with pools (not private pools) , and no beach for swimming, in the city of santo domingo.

On the North Coast, Puerto Plata and Sosua, various Villas with private pools, near the beach.

Juan Dolio has Villas and apartment rentals, some with private pools, some on the beach, some close to a golf course. Boca Chica, I have no idea about villa rentals for boca.

It was an amazing experince.Gua guas (vans and min-buses) , generally have little respect for other drivers in Santo Domingo. If you look at the gua guas, many have a multitude of dents and scratches, so it appears they really don't care much about coming into contact with other vehicles.

New construction projects that have been completed and others that are ongoing will lessen some of the traffic. On Avenida 27 de Febrero you can see the opening for the new underground subway line. A new ramp at the intersection of Ave. Ortega and Gasset and Ave. 27 de Febrero has improved traffic there, as well as the new ramps on Autopista Duarte and for Ave. Charles de Gaul at its intersection with San Isidro.

If you drive to bonao, santiago, moca etc, from Santo Domingo, you have to take autopista duarte. Autopista Duarte can have some very slow moving traffic (in some places Autopista Duarte has 8 lanes or more). There is ongoing major construction, on and near autopista duarte, one afternoon I saw about 20 large construction trucks near Autopista Duarte and Luperon.

I would not say Dominicans are bad drivers, if they were bad drivers, there would be many more accidents (some of the female drivers do bonehead stuff while driving). Many Dominicans are rude and obnoxious drivers (which can be said for many drivers throughout the world). I am on vacation in DR, so most of the time, I am in no rush to get somewhere. But when you drive on some roads in DR, you have to look forward, sideways and to the rear, because many Dominican drivers are in a rush and pass on busy two lane roads. So you have to beware when some guy decides to pass, because you may have to move over to the side if that other driver has a vehicle coming at him in the opposite direction of traffic, before he has passed.

I hope I don't see a head on end collision, between some guy passing and a large truck coming in the opposite direction. On some roads, guys do a lot of chancy passing.

Difference a day makes, when I checked yesterday AA and Jetblue had $332US non-stop fares to Santo Domingo from New York in September. Today the rate for American Airlines is $368US. Jetblue went from $332 to $422.

If you use Orbitz, you can search for flights first, then add a hotel. Orbitz offers the Plaza Real Hotel in Juan Dolio for $24US per night. I have seen the outside of this small hotel, it is located across the street from the new condominium buildings, the area is good. Not sure how this hotel offers beach access to its guests. Using orbitz and the above American Airlines rate. 7 night air and hotel package at the plaza real hotel would cost $538 for a single traveler. Orbitz has a $100US off promo code that works on some 7 night + airfare packages; 100Vacation. I have a $200 off coupon from Orbitz, not sure if they would allow me to use it on this package to cut the package deal down to $338 for air and 7 nights at the Plaza Real. I asked a friend to visit the Plaza Real Hotel in Juan Dolio and she told me it was dump (for $24US per night, I would not expect it to be luxurious).

I will check airfares for September, midweek next week, maybe I will get better prices. Maybe the airlines raise the rates slightly on the weekends, when more people have time to search for fares on the internet.

I had her about 3 weeks ago. (I think her real name is Glennys). She has a great ass on her but she is not GFE at all! CBJ and no kissing! She also ripped me and my buddy off by saying the price was 1500 per girl instead of 1000pesos. I was kinda pissed about that when I got back to the states and saw what the real price was. (GDP also ripped us off by claiming the price was 2000 for one girl and 2 girls for 2500pesos).I was also quoted 1500 for 30 minutes and 2000 for one hour, I'm glad I passed. I used to become very angry at Dominicans trying to rip me off, but came to understand being angry will not stop it from happening, and all you can do is learn from your experiences. I have yet to meet a person that has not been ripped off in the DR, specially during their first trip. Some years ago before I set foot in Santo Domingo for the first time, someone in this forum always wrote don't trust Dominicans. It's extreme to some people, but then I realized why you have to be skeptical about everything.

Some chicas when I ask to meet them in person for the first time, some bring along a friend. Sometimes I will take them to Hard Rock Cafe in Zona Colonial. If I get a little hungry or one of the chicas gets a little hungry, I will order the appetizer sampler (spring roll type of things, chicken wings, potato skins, chicken fingers, onion rings, salad, sauces) which is shared between me and the two chicas.

Sometimes I will take a chica to D'Luis Parrilada Restaurant for a drink, sometimes for an appetizer with drinks and sometimes for dinner. Good service at D'Luis. I have tried the beef on skewers one time and the meat was tender and good. I have also ordered the Fajita dish, slices of beef with onions and peppers served on a flat skillet, with tortillas to the side and chopped cheese, chopped tomato, lettuce and a sauce, on the side. Price is reasonable.

Also on the Malecon, near the park that juts into the Sea is the German beer garden place, I have not gone in there yet. The plaza (park) that juts out into the Sea, usually has lots of people and has some small places that sell food.

The Latin American custom is to throw firecrackers during the Christmas season, sometimes from moving cars.

I ordered a steak fajita last time, it was near $15, the service comes with only 6 slim pieces of meat and near a pound of green pepper, it should be called pepper fajita instead. Chilis in Blue Mall, it was nice to visit. Ok, there are dozens of Chilis where I live and I suppose hundreds in the states but the restaurant is located at the top of the mall with a nice open terrace that oversees the modern part of the city. They sing the "happy birthday" with a complete song perico ripiao style, whith drums, guiros even using Presidente beer bottles as musical instrument.

Hard Rock is not cheap. But I can walk there from Gazcue (where many small hotels are located) , so I can leave my car parked at the hotel. Hard Rock you can pay the bill in Dollars, Euros or Pesos and Plastic (bank or credit cards). If I use plastic at the Hard Rock Cafe, I generally don't have to worry about my credit card info being compromised and sold off, to be used for fraud purchases (I would never use my credit card at Bar Atarazana again, located in Zona Colonial). I sit outside at the Hard Rock and watch the talent walk by. Very easy to tell a chica to meet me at the Hard Rock Cafe, most know exactly where it is located. I have only ordered an entree one time at Hard Rock, a burger with fries.

The "Chain" Restaurants in DR, are usually nicer than their counterparts in the US. I went into a Fridays Restaurant in lower Manhattan, a few times and it was a bit of a dump. The Fridays Restaurant in Santiago, next door to the El Gran Almirante Hotel, is very nice, clean and modern, with a security guard outside, who watches the cars in the parking lot.

I usually drive over to D'Luis Parrillada on the malecon. Always some guy outside who wants a tip to watch the car, which is OK (happens in many locations in DR). Sometimes when I leave, there is a different guy near the car, asking for a tip. Some of the guys will stop the traffic, so I can easily make a U-turn after parking in front of D'Luis.

Next door to D'Luis Parrillada is another Parrillada restaurant, maybe called Parrillada 7, I have not been in there yet.

Most chicas like to eat early; breakfast, lunch and dinner. I took a chica to Manolos early one evening around 7pm, I ordered a cheeseburger with fries. What I received was more like a grilled cheese sandwich with a dash of chopped beef. Other times I received a burger with lots of meat, usually late night.

On a few occasions I have seen some fine, sexy chicas, exiting Hotel Riazor (next door to Manolos) at 3am or 4am, while I was eating at Manolos.

Some people said Parrillada 7 is as good as D' Luis.

Never take a non pro "campo" chica to one these expensive or casual restaurants. I once invited a San Jose de las Matas chica, a small town near Santiago who was staying in Santo Domingo to El Conuco in Gazcue, she read almost all the menu and asked: "donde estan las pechurinas con papas?" (where are the chicken nuggets with fries in the menu?). I had to order the breaded chicken breast and have them cut it in small pieces. With fries.

Orbitz has various promo and coupon codes that can save you some money. DEALPRO10 takes 10% off the hotel room rate. 100VACATION takes $100US off some 7night + airfare packages. My list trip Orbitz had a promotion, book two nights at select hotels and receive a $200US off coupon for a future 7night + airfare package and a $25US gift certificate from restaurants. Com. I booked two nights at the Barcelo Capella All Inclusive hotel my last trip and I received the $200US off coupon from Orbitz, that I will probably will use on my next trip.

Kayak. Com is a good site.

All inclusive hotels in DR don't charge the 26% in taxes, that many non-all inclusive hotels charge. Some travel sites give the room rates for those hotels without the taxes, it is only when you go to make the reservation, that the 26% in taxes are added.

(don't want to pay the guest fee) Hilton rates for their hotel in Santo Domingo are cheaper Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The other days of the week, the prices I saw were over $200US. All the big non-inclusive type hotels in DR will charge 26% in taxes. Some large hotels may try to add on on some other fee, when you reserve, look at the full price, before you make an online payment with your credit card. Nice rooms at the Hilton. Pool is very shallow at the Hilton.

Caribe Tours might have two stations in Santo Domingo. The caribe tours bus station that I know, is on avenida 27 de febrero, not too far from zona colonial. That station is probably closer to the airport, the other station might be further west in Santo Domingo.

http://abcnews.go.com/Travel/airlines-benefiting-ticket-tax-holiday-passengers/story?id=14154594Spirit Airlines seems to be similar to Ryanair and some other cheap, low cost European airlines, in providing the bare minimum to their passengers.

For a 3 1/2 hour flight, I would rather pay less airfare and not get the lousy hot meal they use to serve on some flights.

Jetblue (an American company) airplanes have leather seats, no business or first class on Jetblue. Seats seem bigger, with more legroom, than coach on most airlines (Fly Virgin Atlantic Airlines over the Atlantic and tell me how the coach seats are).

My last trip on Jetblue (SDQ to JFK) , I paid an extra $25US to sit in the second row (first four rows on Jetblue have more legroom) , the two seats next to me were empty, I laid across three seats with my head on one armrest and closed my eyes for most of the flight.

Continental has flights from Newark to Santo Domingo, some of which stop in Panama City, Panama (which are sometimes cheaper than non-stop flights to Santo Domingo).

American Airlines the last time I flew them, for trips to the DR, two checked bags were allowed, free of charge.

The Hilton is a nice hotel and much better than the Jaragua. I went through the lobby the last time I was in SDQ and I was impressed. Hilton is really not close to most venues (It is not within easy walking distance of Zona Colonial). If you have a car, you can drive wherever, without a car, from the Hilton, you will have to take taxis to most venues. Next door to the Hilton is the Malecon Center Mall, which I visited about 6 months ago in the daytime and it was dead, escalators were turned off, no A / C and most of the shops were closed. Maybe other days or at the night, the malecon center mall has people.

If the Marriott Renaissance Jaragua was 100% guest friendly, I would stay there. It is a bit of a dumb business model, that the three large hotels in Gazcue, Santo Domingo (Jaragua, Melia and Intercontinental) , are not guest friendly. Other large hotels in Santo Domingo and other cities in DR, are guest friendly.

At one time the Jaragua Casino had many pros, usually pros still hanging around by the Jaragua Casino.

Hodelpa Hotels in Santiago, I had no problem bringing in whomever I wanted. Hodelpa El Gran Almirante is a nicer hotel than the Jaragua.

Many fancy, expensive hotels in New York City, that have rich and famous guests, that are chica friendly.

Most hotels in other countries, that I know of, are chica friendly.

The smaller hotels in Gazcue, will continue to eat the three bigger hotels' lunch.

The Jaragua has a nice swimming pool, which the smaller hotels don't have. If the Jaragua wanted to make some extra money, they could sell day passes to use their pool.

Half the girls inside Merengue bar in Jaragua casino were hookers, plus a dozen or more playing slots or gambling with guys at different tables. Some girls dressed classy, some look more like streetgirls. Jaragua, Melia and V Centenario changed their guest policy almost at the same time so I believe it was a decision they take together. Today, the amount of hookers inside Jaragua Casino (currently under remodelation) is just a fraction of what you can see a decade ago. Jaragua girls has always asked me $100, some do not bargain some can go for as low as $40. Today the place with most girls is Coppa disco, but they dress a lot better than Jaragua chicas, in fact, you can't distinguish a normal girl from a hooker using clothing as a criteria.

It was just an observation I made during my stays there. When I visited in May, some guy went through the lobby with 8 security guys (eight!) the strict no guess policy keeps most mongers and their chicas away and that may have been factored into that collective decision.

In Rio some of the upscale hotels quickly changed their policy once they started to lose business. I just don't see the same happening in Guazcue.

Jao- I hear you but there some hotels who try to limit mongering activity, they only get a change of heart once their bottom line is affected. In the case of the Guazcue hotels, I think their casino income probably makes up for the losses from monger stays. Just a thought.

I stayed there in May with my Chica. Clerk asked if we we married when we checked in. That was a first for me. We had no problems once we were in. We were never hastled. I felt I could have brought different chicas if they were dressed right. I am not sure how much enforcement of the no chica rule is in effect. My chica is ral hot and dresses sexy all th time.

I have entered with some girls, no problem, they dressed and look decently. I once waited for a girl outside the Jaragua entrance in Avenida Independencia. The girl arrived in a publico, I walked her to hotel grounds in direction to main building. I noticed the guard at the entrance using his walkie talkie, he for sure was informing security inside the building that a cute "working girl" was going inside the building, possibly to the room of the handsome puertorican guy that was walking besides her. As we got near the elevator the guard stopped us: "sorry, only guests can go up". She took a room key (Executive level key) out of her purse, I took mine out also: "we are guests" and in we came. I registered a girl at booking time, she never showed up, she was her substitute. I gave her the other key when she went off the public bus. Later we went to breakfast buffet and they asked for room number, there were a guy and a girl registered to my room, no problem there.

Not familiar with Hotel Palacio area but is it close enough to the action areas or a hassle to get around? Any insight you can provide would be appreciated. I am considering staying here.In Zona Colonial, on Calle Duarte, about 100 feet north of El Conde (pedestrian only street). There is a Jumbo Express supermarket on the corner of Duarte and El Conde. On the other corner is a good hardware store, that sells fishing supplies as well, nice store. On the other corner of Duarte and El Conde, is a store called California, which sells clothes and toiletry items, cheap place to buy a chica a bathing suit. In the California store there is a banco popular ATM machine.

Hotel Palacio is one block from Mercure hotel and about two blocks from Conde de Penalbe Hotel, and about 3 blocks from the cathedral and the park in front of the Cathedral, and about three blocks from Hard Rock Cafe. Bocanegra bar looks like it could be a good bar, about 25 feet north of the Hotel conde de penalba entrance, on a side street.

Palacio charges a guest fee after 9pm. Guests must have identification (cedula).

Rooms on the north side of the hotel (to the right when you are facing the front desk) should be avoided. The rooms facing the main courtyard are better and two elevators service that part of the hotel. The rooms on the north side, you have to walk up narrow steps. If they try to give you a room on the north side, tell them you don't want it and get a room that fronts the main courtyard.

Cameras throughout the public areas of the Palacio, including at the pool.

Playboy Palace would be about a ten minute walk from the palacio. You could walk to various venues from the palacio; foxys, the baby dolls, club 305, satin dolls, sky high, lapsus, la parada, coppa. Walking around late at night in Zona Colonial, will be lonely, most streets are deserted. Some pros stroll up and down on El Conde and sit in the park in front of the cathedral. Pacos (Grand's) cafe at the start of El Conde, sometimes has pros. At night some pros hang around the park, across the street from pacos cafe. Walk around in the early evening and you will see some standing around.

Bar 360 is still open. I stopped there my last trip, to show ISG member Revere the place. Owned by Canadian guy, he offered to buy us a drink when we visited, he had two chicas available, he told us to make him an offer. The bartender chica was attractive. Bar 360 is across the street from the Hotel Abyta on a side street, about three blocks north of the the conde de penalbe hotel.

Conde de Penalbe Hotel looks like a good hotel, I have not stayed there yet: http://www.condepenalba.com/

Pretty pricey place. Might have to think of alternatives with similar amenities. You asked about the Palacio Hotel in your prior post, did you check the price, before you asked about it?

Conde de Penalbe Hotel is less expensive than the Palacio. Palacio runs about $100 per night.

Hotel Roma, I believe is on Calle Duarte, near el conde. Edifico Read apartment buildings, also on calle duarte, one block south of el conde, has apartment rentals starting around $35 per night.

There are some hotels in zona colonial with prices starting around $35 per night, some cheaper places exist.

Most guys stay in the Gazcue neighborhood. If it is your first time in Santo Domingo, might be a good idea, to follow the lead of how other mongers have done it.

Look at Boricua Online's Santo Domingo Monger map, you can see where the hotels are located in relation to venues.

Hotel BQ is in Bella Vista, on Avenida Sarasota, chica friendly hotel, but not with walking distance of most venues. If you stay at BQ Hotel, you will need to take taxis to most venues. Evening rush hour traffic on Avenida Sarasota, can be super slow.

Yeah but when I contacted them via email they were quoting me a price of $157. 50 / night but they never specified type of room. I am alright with paying $100 not $157. 50.Palacio in my opinion is barely worth $100US, with two people in the room. Seems Palacio rates now start at $100US for one person in the room, that rate might not include the 26% in taxes and might not include the guest fee that they charge if you bring in a chica after 9pm. Breakfast at the Palacio is nothing special.

Weekend rates at most of the larger hotels in Santo Domingo are less money.

If you want a colonial style hotel, you could look at El Beatario, http://www.elbeaterio.com/EN/, which is also on calle duarte about two blocks from El Conde. I visited this hotel, the workers seemed pleasant. 500 year old building.

Hotel Doña Elvira is another option; http://www.dona-elvira.com/.

On Expedia. Com, I did a search for Friday, September 16, 2011 to Saturday, September 17, 2011, for Santo Domingo hotels. Hilton is listed at $69US per night plus taxes (cheapest I have ever seen the Hilton in Santo Domingo) , $69US + $18 (taxes and fees) =$87US total price.

Rates of other hotels for the same dates (Friday to Saturday) , before taxes, from Expedia: Courtyard by Marriott $89; Intercontinental $90; Holiday Inn $99; Marriott Jaragua $80; Clarion $87; Nicholas Ovando $135; Hotel Frances $95; Mercure $58; Barcelo Santo Domingo $80; Embajador $100; Melia $101; BQ $73; Europa $42; Palacio $100.

Napolitano Hotel is guest friendly, on the malecon, for the above dates on expedia, Napolitano had no availability.

Hello, friends, I am staying in Juan Dolio and I was wondering what are the best and easiest casas to get to in Santo Domingo from Juan Dolio.Casa 21 in Juan Dolio, is in a nice new house, with a pool in the inside courtyard, it is a few blocks off the Boulevard (Boricua Online posted photos of the place). When heading east on the Boulevard, make the first right after Caprichos. At that corner there is a sign for some restaurant. Casa 21 will be on that side street, on the left, looks like a normal house from the outside. Ring the bell or knock on the door and some one will open the door. Caprichos is on the Boulevard, Juan Dolio, had about 10 chicas, when I stopped in July. 2011. VIP may be open, on the main highway. Plaza Chocolate and the bars near the public beach may have pros.

From Juan Dolio to Boca Chica. 10-15 minute ride. Boca Chica has SWs and Boca has massage houses.

Continuing west towards Santo Domingo from Boca Chica, the next venue would be Paco Club, near the airport. Thick legged chicas, the one time I stopped in there at night, owner is a friendly guy who speaks English. Bar, dance platform and a pool, may only be open at night.

Continuing west, the next venue would be grand paradise massage. Big house, home of Michael and Yanni, if you are going with a group of guys, you may want to call first.

Casa Ejecutivo would probably be the next venue, off las americas highway, on the service road near Ave. St. Vincent de Paul. Before Ejecutivo, you could exit Las Americas at Avenida Charles de Gaul and visit Eagle Sports Bar. After Eagle you could take Ave. Charles de Gaul to Avenida Espana. Usually pros standing around at the beginning of Avenida Espana, at night. There is a casa off avenida espana, but I didn't like it, so I won't go into details about its location.

Continuing west on Avenida Espana towards Santo Domingo, you could stop at La Base Bar, then Living Bar then El Tronco Bar. Eventually you will cross over the pontoon bridge and be near zona colonial, on the malecon. You could stop at Foxys, then the baby dolls. Then drive to Pasteur, visit sky high, satin dolls and around the corner from satin dolls is club 305. After club 305, you could walk to lapsus and la parada.

Playa Guayacanes is in Juan Dolio.

Yeah but when I contacted them via email they were quoting me a price of $157. 50 / night but they never specified type of room. I am alright with paying $100 not $157. 50.Hotel Frances, Mercure Hotel and Hostal Nicholas de Ovando are in Zona Colonial and are owned by Accor; http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/usa/index.shtml

For the Hotel Frances and the Nicholas Ovando Hotel, Accor offers a promotion, stay 3 nights for the price of 2 nights, breakfast included.

For September 16, 2011 through September 19, 2011 (3 nights) , double occupancy room rate at the Hotel Frances for three nights is $278US (which includes the taxes) , price per night would be about $92US, includes breakfast for two people.

Hostal Nicholas de Ovando has a pool, if I were to stay at the Hotel Frances, I would ask if I could use the pool at the Ovando.

Mercure is guest friendly, usually for a fee, might be the same at the Frances and Ovando. Hotel Frances has about 16 rooms in an old colonial building.

It is one or two blocks north of el conde, on calle sanchez (calle sanchez 157). If you don't have a rental car, could be an option, rate is around $65US with breakfast, if you want A / C, supposedly another $10US per night. The day I visited, there was a a Haitian guy working the front desk, nice guy, I saw no guests at the hotel, rooms were nice, small in ground swimming pool, the water looked clean. http://www.villacolonial.net/

Suite Colonial is nice too, I visited one afternoon and a worker there gave me a tour, very friendly guy, nice hotel inside. Suite Colonial seems more busy. Price on their webpage says $63US. http://www.hotelsuitecolonial.com/room_rates.asp

Hotel Luis V is nice (I visited, did not sleep there) , just north of park independence, near the claro store and near some government buildings, on a bit of a busy street, secure parking overnight might cost 100 pesos. http://www.hotelluisv.com/. A pleasant Haitian worker showed me around the hotel, I practiced my Kreyol,"sac pasay, nah bu lay"

Jao, I read the Casino was closed at the Hilton. Maybe that is why the price is down.

The Hilton has the best hotel rooms and security in SD.The Barcelo has undergone some refurbishments, with some new rooms. Also the Clarion has some newly refurbished rooms.

I agree, the Hilton rooms are nice, nice wood doors, nice tile in the bathroom.

Holiday Inn is the sister hotel of the Intercontinental. The Holiday Inn is one of the newer hotels in santo domingo, modern style, with a roof top pool and is usually more expensive than the Intercontinental.

Supposedly a bar or lounge on the pool decks of the Barcelo and Holiday Inn, that might be open to the public.

I may try the Clarion Hotel, supposedly they offer complimentary admission to the body shop athletic gym, might be some cute chicas working out at that gym. In the Clarion, there is Bottom Bars, supposedly popular for Karaoke some nights with the "non-pro" MILF types.

Yeah best security to keep your chicas out of your room. I had to jump through hopes to get my chicas into my room at the Hilton last year. I accomplished but with too much effort.Staying in a nice apartment in Santo Domingo, makes mongering much easier.

One ISG member reserved an apartment through this site, he had to cancel his reservation and his deposit was quickly given back to him, as such, this site seems reputable: www.santodomingo-apartments.com

On tripadvisor. Com there are several vacation rentals reviewed for santo domingo. One is of a penthouse apartment with a rooftop jacuzzi, another place is a modern apartment that is near acropolis mall. If two or more guys travel together, renting a nice two bedroom apartment, the price can be split.

Whether a hotel in santo domingo is chica friendly or not, or how chica friendly it may or may not be, and whether they will charge an extra fee, puts uncertainty in staying at some hotels in Santo Domingo. With an apartment, you can come and go as you please.

I have a promo code for orbitz for $200US off (air+hotel package) , that I have to use in the next month, so on my next trip I may try the Hotel Napolitano. I will call the Clarion to see what their guest policy is.

My warmest thanksYou are asking a lot. It would be like asking someone in New York City, to list and rate every neighborhood in the five boroughs. Santo Domingo appears to me, to have over 20 named neighborhoods. You may want to post your question on the DR board that is not monger centric.

If you have specific questions about certain neighborhoods in Santo Domingo, ask away here. But to ask for a list of all neighborhoods in Santo Domingo, with ratings for each, I don't see you getting a detailed response here. Hotel on the other side of the pontoon bridge, appears to be located on the road that goes from the pontoon bridge, up the hill, to Avenida Espana. Price for 2 people in a room, starting at $48US plus taxes, breakfast included, additional guest fee $16US. WIFI, parking, Kitchenettes, seems like a cute place. Probably more convenient for guys with rental cars. How guest friendly it may or may not be, I don't know. Probably a ten minute walk to the zona colonial (over the bridge, I would not recommend doing that walk late at night).

Santa Domingo vs Boca Chica and Puerto Plata vs Sosua.

Which area is better in prices? Food? Lodging? P2p? And percentage of good looking girls and percentage of non pros to pick up at clubs or wherever.

I am splitting my 4 week vacay in half, first the south in SD / BC then to PP / Sosua. I am researching painstakingly on how I should split my time between each of those pairs of city (I take forever). Taking the Metro bus to the north, anything better? on the coco tours webpage they have a good video showing the drive from zona colonial to sdq (las americas airport). the driver takes the pontoon (floating) bridge, then goes up the hill to avenida espana, at the end of avenida espana he gets on las americas highway. (on avenida espana is the national aquarium, a water park, la base bar and some street walkers near where avenida espana ends, at night) there is about a 30 peso toll when heading in the direction of the airport (same direction to go to boca chica beach). name of the video on the coco tours webpage is "a speeded-up transfer from the colonial zone of santo domingo to las américas international airport (sdq)": http://www.cocotours.com/cocotours/english/dominican-transfer-videos.htm

Sosua will have a high percentage of pros. Boca Chica is spread out, the main tourist area of Boca Chica, will have a high percentage of pros. If you prefer Haitian chicas, Sosua and Boca Chica have a higher percentage of Haitians.

You can use online sites to meet chicas before your trip.

Metro is a good bus company, the metro bus stop in sosua is about 2-3 blocks from New Garden Hotel.

Santo Domingo has various bars / discos where "non-pro" type chicas hang out. Santo Domingo has over 10 pay for play venues with prices starting at 1000 pesos. Some of the more popular venues will ask for 3500 pesos. You can try to bargain them down. Repeat customers are usually given a discount.

If you don't rent a car, you can take taxis, buses, gua guas, carro publicos or motoconchos, prices from ten pesos and up.

Boricua Online's Santo Domingo Monger Map has many places pinned, with information. There probably is a custom google map for boca chica, with venues pinned. Some guys are working on a monger map for puerto plata. HB69 has a map for santiago and Boricua Online has pinned some locations for Santiago.

Sosua is small, just walk around and eventually you will see all.

if you want to buy a house or buy an apartment, then you will have many options of which neighborhood to choose from.

if you are a tourist who is looking for a daily or weekly rental, then the number of areas where you can stay decreases. if you only want chica friendly hotels in decent areas, then your options are decreased further.

there are numerous hotels are in the gazcue section of santo domingo. some are guest friendly and some are not guest friendly.

bella vista neighborhood is scenic and has two hotels that are guest friendly, embajador hotel and bq hotel and probably another smaller hotel (i forget the name). bella vista is a scenic neighborhood. traffic on avenida sarasota during rush hour can be terrible in bella vista. from bella vista you will have to drive or take taxis to get to the venues for p4p.

zona colonial has numerous hotels, many of which are chica friendly. most of zona colonial is like a ghost town late at night.

gazcue has some large hotels with casinos and bars including coppa and other venues, all within walking distance of the large and small hotels.

in zona oriental, on carretera mella (other side of the river) is the hotel aurora de sol, which i have been told is not chica friendly.

there are probably a few hotels in isabelita (off of avenida espana and las americas highway) on the other side of the river, but i have not really read anything spectacular about those places, and for me personally, i have no desire to stay in isabelita.

hostal marina real, looks nice, it is on the other side of the pontoon bridge from zona colonial.

hotel clarion in naco is not guest friendly.

hilton in malecon center, seems to be chica friendly for a fee, one isg member had trouble bringing in a chica to the hilton. hilton is really not within walking distance of much.

hotel santo domingo and hotel hispaniola, quiet, but again, not close to p4p venues. gotik disco is in hotel hispaniola. i have no clue how guest friendly the hotel santo domingo or hotel hispaniola, may or may not be. dominican fiesta hotel, i have never visited and seems far from most venues (no clue if it is chica friendly).

there are probably some short term apartment rentals rep001tered around santo domingo, i am not familiar with most of them.

you say there are 10 good areas in santo domingo for a tourist who wants to fuck. maybe you can share your info with this board.

what constitutes a good neighborhood for fucking will depend on the monger. some guys have rental cars and want secure parking. some guys want to be within walking distance of casas. some guys may not mind being a taxi ride away from venues. some guys may want to rent an expensive apartment, some guys may not want to spend more than $50 per night.

i would like to see your list of 10 areas good for fucking in santo domingo. thanks.

cabanas are short term rentals (from 2 hours and up) , so i would not include cabanas in you list (30 de mayo before haina and san isidro near charles de gaul and autopista duarte after carrefour).

Would any one recommend any apartment in Santo Domingo close to malls and a nice gym?

ThanksThis rental says it is steps from Plaza Acropolis (which has a nice mall, some bars and restaurants, including Hooters) http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/152498?af=86284&c=all15

This one with a Jacuzzi under the stars, looks like it could be a fun place (these are not inexpensive rentals, I have not seen either of these apartments in person) , http://www.alwaysonvacation.com/vacation-rentals/1056833.html?t=VSC&f=zaa#photo

John the owner seems like a nice guy but back then he wanted a $1000 deposit and I balked. Told him there was no way I would pay that. The $59 insurance is new, guess he took that advice to heart. Although the apt is chica freindly, he didn't appear too comfortable with the idea and said to be respectful of the building and it's residents.

The jacuzzi apartment, the owner has photos on trip advisor, that seem to suggest he is not promoting the apartment for church retreats. One photo of a chica who appears to have no clothes on in the jacuzzi and another photo of a morena sitting at the bar, inside the apartment. Location of this apartment is a bit far from the venues, probably is close to jetset disco. Outdoor private jacuzzi, you know that could be fun.

It is understandable that most apartment owners will tell renters to be respectful. I have not had any problems with the apartment I used in Santo Domingo, bringing in chicas. I have rented apartments in Sosua and had no problems.

Hey guys,

I will arrive in Santo Domingo in the early morning (4 am) in a few weeks. I wanted to take the first Caribe / Metro bus at 6 am to Sosua. But it came to my mind that I could get a girl & a cabana for 1-2 hours before heading to Sosua. Since I've never been to SD, I have no clue which place I could possibly hit at that time (I guess I would be out the airport at 5 am). I have a few favoritas there, but I intented to see them when I get back from Sosua. Any ideas which of these places like 305, gbp, etc. Are open at that time? Or any other ideas. What is THE After One in the capital?

What is THE After One in the capital? The Baby Dolls on the Malecon, says they are open 24/7. Take out or eat in, price is the same, around 3500 pesos. At 5am you may want to call first, or ring the bell (buzzer) outside until someone opens the door. The Baby Dolls is close to Zona Colonial, if your taxi driver takes avenida espana from the airport and then the pontoon bridge, then the malecon, the first venue you will come across is Foxys, then a 1/4 block away is the baby dolls, some cuties in the baby dolls.

Another place that claims to be open 24/7 is the mansion in zona oriental, which is on the same side of the river as the airport. The Mansion has themed rooms and is in a very nice house, off of carretera mella (santo domingo este).

Casa de Modelos, somewhat close to the Hilton, I was told is open 24/7.

To save money you could ask for a room for a short time (por un rato) at the hotel navarro, which is across the street from club 305. Boricua Online has posted, por un rato room rate at the Navarro is about 800 pesos.

Appears you will not have a rental car, so eat in option at the venue might be better for you, to save on hotel cost and taxi cost to and from the venue to a cabana or hotel. Cabanas are over a 10 minute drive from the baby dolls, hotel navarro would be less than 5 minutes from the baby dolls.

305 at 5am will probably be very quiet, no eat in option at 305, only take out at 305.

Manolos on avenida independencia, behind the Marriott Jaragua hotel, is open 24/7 in case you are hungry at 6am.

I would take Metro to Sosua, the stop for Metro is in El Batey, Sosua, closer to the hotels. Metro has a nice bus station on Avenida Winston Churhill, north of Avenida 27 de Febrero. Remember rush hour traffic in the morning can be slow (if you want to be at the bus station for a certain bus departure).

Hey guys,

I am not much of a writer, but here is my trip report from Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata. 1 Aug to 6 Aug 2011.

Got into SD at about 3:30pm and got to the hotel at about 5:30pm. Stayed at Jaguar. Cabbie had no idea where it was and was really pissed about that. Oh well. Anyways, I tried to confirm my reservation with Rafael a day before but could not reach him by phone or email. The front desk people had no idea what I was talking about.

Once I arrived, the front desk was accommodating and I got my room. Met a guy staying their from Boston. It was his last night and he had been there a week. We went out and he showed me around. Ate down on the Conde. Went to Club 305 at about 8:30. Was pretty dead. There was one girl I really liked who was there though. We shot the shit and then I took her back to the hotel. I tried viagara for the first time from recommendation from my friend. I liked it, but seems like you could get mentally addicted to it. It was good sex. The Boston guy and I went back out (we passed the girl I just fucked waiting for her cab). We then went to Lapsus. I had never been to a place before where the girls were so aggressive. There is no way you can relax first before choosing one. I chose one. She was attractive. Fooled around on the couches and I took her back to the hotel. She was pretty decent in bed but was kind of weird. I didn't end up going back to Lapsus. However, they did have a big selection to pick from.

The next day I went to the Colonial part and sight saw. It was cool. I liked the history part.

When I was in an internet cafe I saw a newspaper talking about Tropical Storm Emily. I had no idea this was coming. I was pretty bummed to find out about that.

At night I went and played Texas Hold'them at the Melia Casino. I won 5000 pesos. The guys there are terrible at poker. Complete donkeys. And I am not very good. All you have to do is just push them around and they back down. Easy money.

I went to the Copa in the Melia after poker. Had a few beers. Noticed this extremely attractive girl walk in and sit down alone. She didn't look Dominican. I was guessing maybe Argentine. I asked the waiter to ask her if she was looking for a date. He reported back "no". Ok. Had a few more beers at the bar and was enjoying the music. I noticed the girl had moved over behind me in a table. Still alone. She then moved to the bar and I struck up conversation. She was from Cuba. Didn't seem like a pro but was looking for $$$. Well, we chatted and danced and then went back to my hotel. She stayed the whole night. Mulitple pops. She left at about 9:30am. She is extemely attractive. Very tall. I liked her a lot.

Next day took the bus to Puerto Plata to escape the storm. Got in about 6:00pm. Had no plans and didn't do any research before hand. Told the cabbie to take me to a hotel with a casino. He took me to the AI Be Live Merian. Nice place. Mostly people from Spain, Holland, and Dominicans from NYC. I didn't meet any other Americans. Went out that night to the casino to play poker. The players were much better here. I lost $$$. For anyone who doesn't know, the locals won't play against each other. It's kind of lame that way. After the casino went to the Copa in that hotel. Place was packed and played a good variety of american hip-hop and latin music. Started dancing with these two girls who were friends. Danced for a long time about 4:00am. Was about to go when one of the girls asked if I wanted a threesome. I really was tired but decided a threesome would be fun. Went to a cabana about 10 minutes away. Had fun there. One girl (the leader) was terrible at fucking. The other girl (a 19 year old dark, black girl) was better. In the end I CIM of the black chick. Went back to the hotel.

Next day was raining all day because of the storm. Went to the casino and played poker at night. Went to bed early.

Friday got up and went to 27 Charcos to do the waterfall jumping. Really awesome experience. More dangerous and harder to climb the rocks than what I would've guessed. Word of advice: don't book through a hotel etc. Just tell a taxi to take you there. MUCH cheaper.

Took the bus back to SD. Some really HOT girls got on in Puerto Plata and got off in Santiago. Rich, white Dominicans.

At night, went to a couple of other casas (after poker). Here is the what I experienced:

Playboy Palace only had 4 girls there at 11pm. Terrible.

Then went to the place down on the Malecon (Satin Dolls?) Place was even worse. All dark black chicas. Not my favorite.

Went to another place that was ugly girls too. Might have been Latin Dolls.

Finally decided to go back to 305. There was a group of black americans there playing gangster. They seemed like idiots. They took a bunch of girls out right when I got in. I decided to go back to the well and take the first girl back out from the Monday night. It was a good time. Really good sex and muliple BBBJ with CIM.

However, I should've called up the Cuban. She was special.

Went home on Saturday.

Couple of things: I took money out on Friday for the hotel and for the taxi ride to the airport. I budgeted the right amount. However, my bill at Jaguar was 40 pesos more.

Than what I thought. 40 pesos is like $1. The hotel made kind of big deal about how I owed them $1. I didn't want to go to an ATM because the surcharge is much more than 40 pesos. After paying for 5 nights, come on. $1?

Anyways, good experience all in all. SD gets a little boring during the day. 3 days is plenty. Puerto Plata was fun especially the waterfall jumping. I wish I lived in Miami so trips to Latin America would be cheaper and the travel day much shorter.

He is now renting it for $250, way down from the $350-375 he advertises.

We are getting jacked on taxi prices, my chica called her taxi service and we never paid more than 300 pesos, most of the rides cost 120-150 pesos. She called a taxi to take me to the airport, they charged me 900'pesos from the Jaragua vs 45 dollars.

Perhaps I am being nostalgic of the good old days in Rio when mongers used to greet each other at the airport and genuinely look out for their fellow man by giving out tips and info. I think the fact that DR is a smaller country probably pervades the every man for himself mentality. If more mongers shared info, the chica network and the domincan ladron touts could be kept in check.

One other aspect that is glaringly obvious is that DR is a genuine vacation spot for families and couples, so engaging in monger banter while sitting next to Suzy and her daughter is prob not a good idea. LOL

LOLIt is nice to shoot the shit and speak in your native tongue with other mongers from this board, while in santo domingo. I have met up with numerous guys from this board in santo domingo. Its usually easier and more relaxing to visit venues with a wing-man or two. By myself, I don't have the desire to visit certain venues.

When I used to fly into Puerto Plata Airport, I would usually see more fellow mongers. Last few trips into santo domingo, mostly Dominicans on the airplanes that I was on. (last trip a five year old Dominican kid kicked the backed of my sit for an hour, I turned around several times, the mother couldn't control the kid, I didn't make a fuss).

Thanks for the info man! Really appreciate. I was leaning towards the jaujar hotel but I'll check these out too. I want to stay in a place where it is easy to monger but also want to be close to the clubs and bars. Imma try to find a freebie first then if I strikeout, I'll go the GDP way.

Another question a out gdp's. Are BBBJ and Greek a standard here or will it cost extra. What is the going price for an hour and overnight. ThanksMost things are negotiable. Some pros are more open to certain things, than others.

BBBJ is usually the norm. Greek is the exception with most DR chicas.

I always rent a car, so I need a place that has secure parking for the rental car. If you will not be renting a car, then you will have more options for hotels.

Is this your first trip to Santo Domingo?

Prices vary, usually from 1000 pesos to 3500 pesos. There are lower prices and higher prices.

Having a nice apartment, helps with the mongering. Chicas are impressed with nice lodgings.

And what are the taxi prices? Thanks

With the price that you gave me, how long is that for usually? And what are the taxi prices? ThanksThe Baby Dolls. 2 hours take out price is 3500 pesos, in house one hour is 3500 pesos.

GBP and Playboy Palace offer 1000 pesos for one chica in house, usually an hour or two chicas for 1500 pesos, for one hour.

Satin Dolls and 305, from what I understand, takeout is for 4 hours.

You can probably get better take out rates later in the night.

GBP closes around 11pm and the chicas don't live at GBP, so sometimes, some are available during their off hours. Casa chicas who live at the house (casa) usually have no free time and usually can only see you if you pay their salida (exit).

A friend of mine got Greek from a chica at casa azul, one afternoon, for around 2000-2500 pesos.

Casa Theresa sometimes has some amazon sized sexy chicas.

Club MC and Pink Pony are away from the tourist areas, with prices starting at 1200 pesos, in house.

Dollhouse and Foxys are probably the two most expensive places, prices over 5000 pesos.

Some freelancers in coppa will ask for 5000 pesos. Some will come down.

Try to look at boricua online's sdq google monger map. There are numerous p4p venues in santo domingo (or places where pros hangout) ; SWs on the malecon near churchill, around park independence, calle danae, some still on independencia, some on el conde in zona colonial. Venues include ejecutivo, dream house, paco club, gran paradise massage, cats, penthouse, australia, bar 360 (zona colonial) , lapsus, la parada, casa de modelos. Showgirls is not in a touristy area and BBL had fun there, for not a lot of money.

Taxis from the airport into the city, will ask for $40US.

Taxis within the city, mostly 200 pesos or less (about $5US or less) , unless you travel some long distance. Many venues are within walking distance of guest friendly hotels.

Jao, the private jacuzzi with bar is what sets this place apart. He also has a stereo system upstairs so definitely a party spot. Oh and, supposedly a couple of guys from the Miami Heat rented the place last week. Biz has picked up since he lowered the price and removed the $1000 deposit requirement.

The taxi my chica called for me got lost serveral times, don't think he could read the street names ah well but he was a gracious older fellow. The apt is in an upscale residential district near the Dominican Fiesta Hotel.

http://www.hotel-rn.com/hw/a241111/index.htm?lbl=ggl

Taxi cost me 175 pesos, and it's about a ten min drive from the Jaragua going towards the direction of the Hilton and beyond.Dominican Fiesta Hotel is in the neighborhood Los Cacicazgos. Dominican Fiesta Hotel sits on the upper, north part of Parque Del Mirador Sur. Driving in that part of Santo Domingo can be a little confusing. The park blocks north-south traffic except for a few roads and parts of the earth are elevated near the park. Los Cacicazgos neighborhood is somewhat close to Avenida Luperon, which is one of the more western avenues that run in a north-south direction. Staying at that apartment you will be closer to chicas who live in Herrera and who may live near carrefour. Cabanas will be close, the drive to Santiago will be a little shorter. If you know chicas who live in Santo Domingo Este (East) , Zona Oriental, they will have a long ride to visit that apartment.

I would usually take the malecon (which becomes autopista 30 de mayo) to Avenida Luperon. From the Jaragua to Luperon, times will vary depending on the time of the day. Late at night the malecon has very little traffic. During rush hour, there can be bumper to bumper traffic, could take 30 minutes from the jaragua to avenida luperon, during rush hour. Last time I was in Santo Domingo, a part of the east bound malecon had construction and only 1 lane of traffic, somewhat near the hilton.

This apartment near the Acropolis Mall, the location is probably more convenient, more centrally located (it doesn't have an outdoor, private jacuzzi) ; http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/152498?af=86284&c=all15

This apartment is on Avenida Lincoln, which is major north-south street (hotel santo domingo, hotel hispaniola are on Lincoln). I don't know what cross street with Lincoln, for this apartment. ISG member BBL knows the area around Avenida Lincoln, monger venues proximity would depend on what cross street with Lincoln; http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/121741?af=86284&c=all15

This apartment is nice and safe. There are a couple of nice chica's working there too. It is located directly across the street from hotel Santo Domingo which is also next to hotel hispaniola. From the Malecon driving north on Lincoln, avenida independencia is about 2 blocks up. As soon as you pass independencia the apartment (lincoln suites) is on the left. Nice apartment and right next to what I believe is a high school for future police. Keep driving north on Lincoln and in about 5 minutes you'll reach febrero 27. Make a right and go a few blocks and gbp is on the right. Leaving the apartment making a right and driving south you can make a right on independencia or the malecon (again 2 or 3 blocks down) and you'll cross maxima gomez and be at the casas (305, lapsus, etc) in less than 5 minutes.

Police barracks for male and female National Police on the corner of Independencia and Avenida Lincoln, across the street from the Hotel Hispaniola. Attached to the casino for the Hotel Hispaniola is Gotik discoteca. Hotel Santo Domingo is a large complex that sits on the malecon with sides that front lincoln and independencia. (Hotel Santo Domingo has a nice old lobby, safe location if you want to use an ATM machine late at night, if you are driving near there).

I will visit Lincoln Suites next month. Good to know it is located near Independencia and not way north.

I got some pictures of some sexy girls I had there. One gave me her number. Sadly I had to burst the managers bubble when he said this was the best in the DR. I told him sosua has better looking women with better attitudes.

Does anyone have any information regarding the massage houses in SD? Are they FS and worth the effort? If so, any recomendations? Thanks in advance. In Santo Domingo there are places that provide eat in or take out services. Some places are only take out. The venues are generally not called massage houses in Santo Domingo anymore, you can ask for casa de citas (house of appointments) or casa de chicas (house of women) , you can also ask for massage houses, but the venues don't use massage in their name (except grand paradise massage). One place off of avenida independencia does offer normal massage and a massage with a happy ending.

Whether you want to partake in house or take out is your choice, there are venues that offer both options.

GBP, most guys on this board recommend. GBP (gymnasio bar privado or Gym Bar) is a small, hole in the wall type of place, not fancy inside, with about 6-8 chicas. They will do a strip show and a lap dance in a small bar area that has two sofas. 1000 pesos for one chica or 1500 pesos for two chicas, when you choose a chica, you go with her to the one of the rooms, which are off a small hallway, from the bar.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One ISG member loved the chicas at casa theresa, another ISG member hated casa theresa. Visit the different venues and see for yourself what you like. Prices vary from casa to casa and from SW to SW. The owner of 305 speaks English and is a very nice guy. Sky High is new inside. Foxys and Dollhouse may have chicas from other countries, but are expensive. Some places are not located close to the tourist areas (penthouse, club mc, ejecutivo, mansion, cats, australia, pink pony). Casa Theresa and Casa Azul are located close to one another. I have always had fun in casa azul, it is a low key type of place, not fancy inside and no pressure. Casa Azul is owned by a former Mexican Pro Wrestler, who is not in good health now. Late at night after the curfew, you can probably go and drink at casa azul.

Girls House has gotten bad reviews.

I stayed one night in Barcelo Domingo (formerly Lina) thanks to a 50% Expedia promo for Executive level rooms, I paid $77 for the night. Executive level has exclusive facilities for executive room guests: 24 exclusive check in-out desk area free computer room with internet, a terrace with sauna and an Jacuzzi. 24 hour drinks (Presidente beer in 12 0z bottles, sodas, juices, water. 8 varieties of coffee). There is also pastries, cakes, fruits, cheeses, ham and bread available from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The room is modern, in fact was remodeled last year with flat screen tv, a confortable queen bed and all the facilities you can imagine. Fruits were served to our room. I was with my favorite chica so no need to go out in search of girls. Next to the hotel to the right there is a place where you can drink for cheap. You can cross the avenue, walk a little and there is Teleoferta, a popular terrace, a good spot to meet non pros. You can take a 5 minute walk to the left from hotel entrance and there is a train station. We went to Villa Mella in train but the chicharrones vendor are not a esay walk from train station so we went to La Sirena an ate a delicious meal for two for barely over $10: rice, a full pasta with meat and salad, a big service of pork ribs, avocado, water and a soda.

The pool was also almost new, it has a bar next to it. 4 chaise lounges inside the water and a cascade. Nice being there with my chica, sometimes we were the only people there.

Room minibar is expensive, but room service is cheap, most of the items from the restaurant menu were priced for less than 200 pesos before taxes.

In terms of sex, well I was with my favorite chica which is not a pro, so we were like a normal couple. We had unprotected sex all the time. She took at pill that works for 3 days after the first sexual relation that avoids her to get pregnant. It is sold in drugstores over the counter, cost like 4 dollars.

Overall Barcelo Santo Domingo is nice, guest friendly hotel. If you are a newbie do not stay there, it is not near most of the places of interest for the monger.

The nearest place is Showgirls strip club, less than half a mile north, practically walking distance and GBP is a mile west on the same Avenue.

Hi guys,

Since I will be visiting Santo Domingo for the first time soon, there are still two thing I'm not so sure about.

1. I stay at the Hilton. Is the guest fee per girl per day or is it just per day? Meaning, I pay 2 times the guest fee when I have a girl at noon and one in the evening?

2. I will be there on a Sunday. I remember reading that 305 is closed. Any other place that is closed and I shouldn't have on my list?

I checked in with a Dominicana the one time I stayed at the Hilton, as such there was no extra fee for her. If you have a rental car, you can enter the Hilton from the 4th or 5th floor, where it is attached to the parking garage. There was a security guard, he did not stop me when I entered the hotel from the 4th floor parking floor with the Dominicana, who I checked in with.

I have read the hilton charges a chica fee, not sure if it is per chica or per day. You could always play dumb, just enter the hotel and go to your room with a chica. If they stop you, you can say you didn't know about the chica policy (It is a total retarded policy that some large hotels in Santo Domingo, don't allow you to bring in whom you want).

Barcelo Santo Domingo and El Embajador Hotels are large hotels in santo domingo that are chica friendly.

Earlier in the evening and late afternoon, some independents on el conde in zona colonial and in Pacos cafe (now called Grands). Barcelo Santo Domingo and El Embajador Hotels are large hotels in santo domingo that are chica friendly. The Mercure Hotel on El Conde, is guest friendly for a fee. I believe it was $17. $20. They have a great buffet breakfast and outdoor tables where you can sit and watch the pussy parade on El Conde.

What % of Dominican girls are either black or dark compared to the normal latin looking girls or white.

Thanks!DR has a mix of skin colors, from dark to light. Generally more lighter skin people can be found in the center part of the island called El Cibao which includes La Vega, Santiago, Moca and others. Generally towns and cities along the coast have a greater percentage of darker skin people. (similar to what you might find in Colombia). There are historic reasons why some coastal towns and cities have more darker skinned people.

Henry Louis Gates Jr. Did a TV series recently about Blacks in Latin America. An excerpt from an article Gates wrote:

"From afar, I thought, the Dominican Republic seems like heaven on earth. I thought of its seemingly endless beaches, its long tradition of merengue and its dominance in baseball. And I love its cuisine, especially the dishes such as chofáand and locrio, characterized by its flavor-filled burnt rice, called concóand. I knew that the nation was filled with black faces. More than 90 percent of Dominicans possess some degree of African descent. And that the very first rebellion of black slaves occurred here in 1522.

But I also knew that the Dominican Republic has a complex past. Few people here self-identify as black or Negro; rather, a wide majority of Dominicans. Most recently 82 percent in a federal census. Designate their race as indio, while only 4. 13 percent designate themselves as black. And I wanted to understand why." http://www.theroot.com/views/dominicans-denial

Anyway- I think its a valid question. I do not like real dark skinned latins or black latins. I am more into the lighter skin Latins.

So instead of saying my comment is dumb you could help me out an answer the question. (if you know)

Would be like someone coming to the USA to monger and saying, what percentage of the population is white, compared to black, asian, hispanic et. Nothing wrong with the question because someone who doesn't know about the USA would assume most if not all people are white. As is the case if I asked about Haiti. Yes I assume most people are black but I guarantee there is a significant white, and latino population. In anycase I assume you get my point and if someone knows please feel free to answer. Thanks

I am planning a trip to SD. I saw a few nice apartments in the Naco area of SD. Is anyone familiar with that area? Is it not too far from Gazcue or zona colonial. To be clear I am ok with a 15 minute drive or so on a taxi to get to Gazcue or zona colonial. But if it takes like 40 or more minutes to drive than I consider it too far.

Is there internet in the apartments?

Body Shop Gym has a location in naco with a pool. If the Clarion Hotel was guest friendly, I would stay there (Hotel Clarion is not guest friendly). I saw one nice short term apartment rental in Naco. You will be closer to plaza uris (shots, sinatra bars). Not very far from GBP. Cats p4p venue is in Naco (small place, I visited one time with Koki, pleasant chica latched onto me and I was squeezing her ass, they have a curtained off area for privacy, private lap dances or something, I have not been there in over a year). Praia is in Naco (disco for young rich Dominicans). Naco is an upscale neighborhood. During rush hour a ten minute ride, could take an hour. Late at night, Naco is less than 10 minutes from from Gazcue and zona colonial.

Thanks!Sounds like stats needed to write a book or an article. What a strange question to ask on a monger forum. Just look at photos and make up your own mind. Photos are all over here and the web. It seems every few weeks a new username pops up asking statistical questions. Not sure if it is the same guy trying to write a book or what.

Good to know it is located near Independencia and not way north.I am thinking about staying here. Every website renting apartment that I reach out for available space they keep pointing me to this Lincoln Suites. I wonder if they got a bunch of realtors on commission.

Naco is north of 27 de febrero, near ave. Lincoln, ave. Lope de vega, ave. Gustavo mejia ricart.

This site has a nice apartment in Naco, seems to have a heavy deposit fee. I have no experience with this site. Their zona colonial apartments, are also advertised as a hotel on another site, I visited that place in zona colonial (could not enter, only saw it from the outside, I probably would not stay there, lonely somewhat deserted street in zona colonial). Naco apartment looks nice; http://www.rentindominicana.com/english/naco_apartment.html

Lincoln Suites do not offer internet service in the apartments though there is an area off to the side of the lobby with chairs and wifi available. There is also wifi available on the roof where there is a pool a lounge area and gym.

The only issue I had at Lincoln Suites was the security deposit. It was quite high. If I remember correctly they wanted $600 or $700 for a 10 day stay. I said to the manager that I thought they'd have problems attracting more visitors with such a hefty deposit. They did return it in dollars after my checkout.

Safe parking. Nice, clean, quiet room. Helpful staff. I had no problems at all there. I would definitely stay there again if my other preferred locations are not available.

Jaosousa, I read where you stayed in Hostal Marina Real once before. Can you lend some more information? I'm looking to stay a few nights there later this month and am investigating now. When I look for apartments in the capital other than safety of course I look for secured parking, internet service in the rooms and a kitchen with all the amenities. Narai Building in zona colonial, was nice, with a roof top pool.I've stayed in their apartments on many occasions. The apartment on the Malecon is located on Malecon and alma mata. The entrance is next to the lavendaria in the strip mall next to the doll house. The front of the building sits on the Malecon and the rear is on Independencia. It is directly across the street from the Platinum club on Independencia. Decent apartment with secured parking and kitchen. It's located on the 4th floor of an 8 story building. Location is good and safe. Best thing about it is all the college girls traveling to and from school and hanging in the eateries directly behind the building on Independencia. The apartment faces the Malecon and the ocean but you come out the front door of the apartment and directly across from that door are windows to the back of the building. Looking through you can see Independencia, the Platinum club and all those stores. Plus there is a bus stop there where all those college chicas are waiting. Maxima Gomex is two blocks east. If you can speak spanish and am interested in young fine chicas in the 20. 30 year old range you could have a ball in Platinum. Only p4p chicas there though will come in with gringos.

They have two other apartments in Gazque that I've also frequented. Both are in the same building with one being on the third floor and the other directly above on the 4th. The building is one block north of Independencia and two blocks east of Maxima Gomez. Great location as during the day you can walk to Pasteur. Probably a 5 or 6 block walk. The apartments are nice have king sized beds and secure parking. These are my first choice when staying in the capital. Also there is a supermarket in the neighborhood down by Pasteur.

Oh by the way, all of their apartments have wifi.

It seems the capital has been quite busy during August as everything was full and I'm finding the same holds true for September. Currently trying to find alternative lodging for my next trip which I hope will be in a couple of weeks now that plane tickets have come back to reasonable rates.

Discreet reception. Do thay have thier web site where it is possible to rent them?

Thank youReally it depends on where you want to be. The apartments in Gazque are a few blocks away from the casa's and large hotels on independencia & Malecon. I would probably say for most people these would be the best locations. The location of the apartment on the malecon is not bad. If you have a car then it's really no difference between any of the locations. Lincoln suites is on abrahim lincoln and is further away from the areas mentioned but again it may be a better location depending on where you want to go and be.

I would say lincoln suites is less descreet than the other two apartments only because the security guard has to let you in at night and if you're not driving you would need to walk through the front door lobby and past reception. The other two apartments provide you with a key so you would only need to pass the security guards but they don't bother or ask questions. The link to their website was posted by Jaosousa already. Just look down a bit.

As I much prefer chicas with African hertitage this is a selling point to me but if you like light skinned Latin chicas go to Columbia or even Cuba as they are a larger proportion of the population.

Haiti by the way other than NGO employees has only very small white population mostly middle eastern. It's basically a west African country ethnically that's in the carribbean.

Since I am flying into SDQ and I will arrive there at 4 am in a couple of days: Is there still a place open where I could hang out until I take a cab to the Caribe Tour bus station for the 6 am bus?

Jaosousa, your help is much appreciated. Thanks.I have done the Jetblue flight that leaves New York around midnight and arrives around 4am. A wingman loves that flight. Temperature is not so hot at 4am in santo domingo, the airport is quiet at that hour.

If you have checked luggage, you will have to wait at the baggage carousel, usually at least 30 minutes. From when the plane lands in santo domingo, until you exit the airport could be 45 minutes.

I usually rent a car, alamo is open 24/7 at the Santo Domingo airport, at 4am you do the paperwork for the car rental, in the building outside the main airport building near the parking lot for the rental cars.

If you exit the airport at 4am, with no rental car and you want to hang out somewhere until 6am (for caribe tours) , depends whether you want to fuck somewhere for an hour or two, or whether you just want to wait someplace until you can could catch the bus.

More people will be out late on the weekends, but you will have your luggage, so it is not like you can walk into some disco at 4am with luggage. If you just want to hang out for a bit, you could go to manolos restaurant and order food, coffee, etc, for an hour or so, with your luggage with you at the table. If you want to fuck, you could go to baby dolls or casa de modelos, choose a chica, pay around 3500 pesos, probably fuck on site or take the chica off site. If you want to fuck off site, Hotel Navarro may have rooms for around 800 pesos for a few hours. Hotel Navarro is close to the venues. The cabanas are further away from the venues.

Looking for temporary housing, up 18 months or so, while I look for a permanent place. Thanks for the info. Narai is a newly remodeled zona colonial building with secure underground parking. A British woman rents / rented one apartment there. There are about 20 apartments in the building. Rooftop pool. Building is on a nice street in zona colonial, I believe the address is Calle 19 de Marzo, #105; http://narairesidence.com

I stopped inside the place one afternoon unannounced and I was shown one apartment, that I was told I could rent for $100US per night, with a two night minimum. New kitchens, bathrooms with marble, it is a well done remodel of an old colonial building.

I sometimes stay at an apartment owned by a friend of friend, located near the V Centanario hotel. Nice new building, two bedroom, two bathroom apartment. Send me a PM and I could get you the contact info for that apartment, if you wanted to rent it.

I have had good sexual experiences in Santo Domingo, when I stayed at that apartment.

I've been to the DR at least 50 times but only to Santo Domingo twice. I'm giving serious thought to wintering in SDO but really don't know the city. I'm looking for a 3-4 month rental but don't really know what area might be better for a white guy that has the Spanish language skills. Looking for a safe and walkable area both day and night where there might be some grocery stores, restaurants / bars, basically an area where most of what I need is within a half mile or so. Hell, at my age I'm usually in bed by 10:30 pm so I don't need convenience to the 4:00 a. m. nightlife but I insist on an upper scale area. I know its a big city and taxis will be needed from time to time. So given my considerations, put yourself in my shoes guys and please provide some input.

I read that a Google map of SD, with clubs, cacas, etc. Was made and posted here somewhere. I have tried to find it since I will be headed there for the first time.

Can anyone link me to it?

Please PM me.

So given my considerations, put yourself in my shoes guys and please provide some input.Piantini, Naco, Bella Vista, Gazcue, Zona Colonial have some nice places to live.

Hi Folks. I will be taking my first trip to DR (Santo Domingo) in January. I will be going for 4 weeks, and renting a condo while I am there. Would any of you who are familiar with the area, and the vacation rentals that are available, please take a look at the link below, and comment on the area (proximity to Colonial Zone) and if you know of the property.

I have had good luck renting condos in PI, and Colombia, but being that this is my first time to DR, I could certainly use some advice.

Thanks for any help. Simon

A webpage that includes that apartment and others: http://www.santodomingo-apartments.com/

Area is close to venues and is an easy walk to zona colonial.
