. SD is fun but I think you have to live there to fully appreciate what it has to offer. A newbie showing up for a weekend will usually be eaten alive by SD.Hey Mr G, I am not a novice by any means but I am planning my first trip to DR. When you have some time, would you care to expand on the statement that one be eaten alive? Is it just SD or all of DR including north coast? Thx and Cheers.

SD is a big city with big city traps. The North coast especially Sosua is more set up for a virgin traveler to get the most out of the experience. Sosua is compact with beaches, clubs, hotels and bars within walking distance and Spanish is not necessary. SD takes time and hard lessons before you really know how it works. I didn't catch on until my third trip when I hooked up with BQ ribs, Jasosua and other guys that lived there to learn the ropes. My favorite times have been when a Dominican friend takes me to spots where there are no gringos. I'm talking colmados, car washes and even Dominican strip clubs where the girls dance naked and fuck in the back for 500-800 pesos. I've even taken guys from this board there on several occasions but it took years to cultivate these spots.
I would never advise a newbie to go to SD but they don't listen nowadays and have to learn the hard way. The only guaranteed thing about SD is GBP if you like bargain basement shopping the rest is a crap shoot and the odds are great that you will crap out.
SD until very recently was tops on my retirement spots to live but another DR city is looking better. Things are happening in SD that I choose not to discuss here to save useless arguments but PM me if you are looking for a permanent spot to retire and I will give you my Intel. People in SD can smell a newbie and everyone will get their hustle on with no shame. It's not a nice city so keep your guard up at all times. Say " no" before you say "yes". Keep to yourself until you develop a comfort zone.

I am glad somebody understood what he was saying!! LOL!! I disagree about newbies having a tough time out here I'm smashing a new chick every night, only buying dinner. If you from a big city in the states you should no how to move anywhere in the world. I've been enjoying your reports for years as you travel the globe and I'm surprised you haven't made it to the DR yet. SD is a big city with big city traps. The North coast especially Sosua is more set up for a virgin traveler to get the most out of the experience. Your idea about proofreading menus before printing them makes a lot of sense but it has nothing to do with the Dominican Republic. Example, many streets in Latin America are named after national and global heroes. In Santo Domingo, if you spot check them, you will find many of the heroes' names misspelled on street signs.

A 10 minute walk will suffice to cover all the mongering zones, depending on which hotel you choose.
As for finding your preferred type, light skin is in short supply, but you should have no problem finding the right body type.
I have traveled to the places you have been to, I still enjoy Europe but find it more expensive (not everywhere, but most of the places I travel to) and very hit or miss on GFE, mostly miss. I started off in Latin America by going to DR. I have gone several times to both Sosua, Santiago, and Santo Domingo. Santiago is different from Sosua, and Santo Domingo is different from them both. As others have said, Santo Domingo is very big and is not easy. But I go there because I've built up contacts on DominicanCupid and I get my GFE from there very easily, and there are some very attractive women there. Santiago is smaller than Santo Domingo, but much bigger than Sosua. I have passed through Santiago for a night or two, and have had good success with DominicanCupid there as well. You will find a lot of lighter skinned chicas in Santiago, and some of them are gorgeous. Sosua is good because there's a beach, there's plenty of P4 P and getting laid is as easy as getting coke from a 7-11. I have had some excellent GFE in Sosua, but it's different as there's not much time to really get to know the candidates that you're looking to stick it in. Well. You could have patience, but it's a different scene altogether from Santiago and Santo Domingo. While the afternoon and night time mongering is limited to bars around a main street, you can find some hidden gems in some of the other smaller bars that are off Pedro Clisante or further down from where the main action is. The beach during the daytime is a good spot to pick up girls as well, and it's a pretty good beach imo. As for the quality of girls, I was actually concerned prior to visiting Sosua my very first time. I am generally not attracted to darker skinned chicas, and didn't know if I'd be able to find what I was looking for. But I decided to take a chance and had a good experience that kept me coming back for more. While there are a lot of mid to dark skinned chicas, you will still find a few lighter skinned chicas. They come in all shapes and sizes as well, and at the bars / clubs at night you should not have an issue finding the good looking ones. They get dressed up, and some are stunning and have fantastic bodies. If you're looking for GFE, it's YMMV. I've had some pros who are non-GFE most of the time, but I've come across chicas who deliver big time. BBBJ is a hit or miss recently, the pros will go with CBJ and I have found that all my CBJ experiences in Sosua usually end up with subpar experiences overall. But again, I've had some very good experiences there.
With that said, I have been to SXM (Saint Maarten), Buenos Aires, and most recently Colombia (CTG and BOG, MDE is up next). It's different there. Buenos Aires is different from Colombia, and SXM is different from them all. Quality of women. We're probably attracted to the same type of women. I prefer lean body types as well, and I never have a problem finding that in SXM, BAires, or Colombia. But that does not mean you can't find it in DR, the bars on Pedro Clisante in the evenings (weekends) can be very busy and in peak season it's difficult to move around even. I've been in situations where there are a lot of average to good looking girls, and it's just hard to decide. I've also been in situations in the afternoon where there are just a bunch of dark skinned gorditas walking on the street, and it's just not what I'm looking for (but I'm sure that there are many of my fellow hobbyists who are looking for those types). I will say this. I know you looked at photos and what not, but don't go by that. You need to experience it for yourself. Everyone has different tastes and I've seen some pics on here of chicas that punters say were really good looking and a great experience, I take a look at the chica and think is this guy for real? She barely hits a 5 on my scale. When I get to Sosua, I go after the ones I am genuinely attracted to and have never had a problem finding it. Some of the women have had kids, and their bodies will show it despite them looking so good during the interview. It's not uncommon, but I think if you keep your expectations fairly realistic you'll have a good time. I find it hard not to have a decent time in Sosua, it doesn't mean I'm going to come out at the end of my trip with the best experiences ever. But even a bad experience is an experience nonetheless, and a majority of my lays have been decent to good. You get better with choosing as time goes on.
I recently visited Bogota for mongering, was very very unsure of what to expect. I had this vision of amazing women everywhere, and the hottest P4 P I'll ever come across. Then I saw some photos of Santa Fe, and videos on YouTube of walk throughs and was very hesitant. The videos and some photos make it look like it's going to be very hard to find a woman (so many trannies in Santa Fe) let alone a good looking woman. Then I stepped inside the clubs in Santa Fe, and good lord. I came across some absolutely gorgeous women and once again I realized the photos / videos I saw beforehand did not give an accurate picture of what it is really like, especially from the inside of the clubs. Sosua is no Colombia, but you can have a good time. And you can definitely have very good P4 P experiences there.

I have to say thanks for the game fellas! I'm glad I made this trek. Hotel BQ is dope the pool area on the 8th floor is a must see. Bad Dominicans everywhere in swimsuits, who can not love it. The drivers dropping off passengers either don't have the license right to pick up at the airport or if they do they have to go to the back of a line of waiting taxis (think New York City). This solves both those problems. Drivers with no pick up rights have to dead head out of the airport with no passenger. Drivers who do have pickup rights get a fare right away instead of waiting their turn (you know how Dominicans don't like to wait their turn for anything).
When you leave the first floor of the airport the taxi drivers all want $40 for a ride to SD. Go up to the 2nd level where taxi's drop off passengers for departure. Wait for a taxi to drop off the passengers and tell him $30 for a ride to SD. That's what I do and I get that fare everytime..

Brush your teeth with and drink tap water to save the cost of bottled water, then experience gastritis like the people in Villa Agricolas and La Cienega.

Since $30 does not appear to be guaranteed, I will likely just take my guy up on the $45, since it is only $5 more than $40. If I knew the area, I would go for the bus, but I don't so I will not risk it. Thankfully I do not really have to worry about money on this trip (within reason of course!
I visit the DR about 3 times a year. I spend about $1200 for a 6 days trip for everything including flight. I have a ball. I stay in nice but not extravagant hotels. I enjoy good meals and deny myself very little. I use public transportation when possible and have no problem with it. This saves me money to spend on the ladies. I try to cut corners on some expenses. $40 a night for decent hotel. Riena Isabela in SD and Europa in Sosua both very chica friendly. I average 2 girls a night in Sosua. SD I see my regulars and do a little clubbing.
At SD airport I have 2 strategies. I the past I would hookup with a fellow traveler and split the fare. Win Win. Every cab will take 30 bucks no need to schedule a driver. If you are new to SD you have challenges that require more preparation. I used Dcupid to meet some ladies in SD. I invited girls from other towns to meet me there. They were very excited to visit the capital and sleep in a hotel. Speaking Spanish is a huge asset. The out of town girls are on your turf and will put out to make you happy. Not every one has the time to chat up cupid girls but if you do GFE is very possible.

I have driven all over DR. From Santo Domingo to Bonao to Moca to Santiago to Sosua. On one trip I drove from San Francisco de Marcois to Punt Cana. It was a 6 hour drive. I will never do that again. A little history about me. I used to own a Condo in Cabarete. Make no mistake I am no rookie in DR. In October I will be headed to Rio. It was not my intent to belittle you or anyone. So please don't take my attempt at correcting your spanish personally. I arrived in Santo Domingo and as usual see a chick in immigration that I want to talk to so I go to her line. I throw her a brief rap while she is processing my passport and I leave my number with her. As I said, I do the same thing all of the time, BUT the problem is that I always forget that I did it. I went to the Budget rental car desk to get processed for that and the guy tells me that the only car they have is one a step below what I reserved. That was cool with me since I was not venturing out of town. So what is the price difference I asked? $1 the guy told me. MFs.
While the rental car guy is copying my information I get a call on my Dominican line. It is my girl from Santiago calling to see if I had made it yet. I told her yes and asked where she was. She said she was on the bus headed to the capital and asked me to pick her up at Caribe Tours. Since I had double booked I needed to know exactly where she was. She told me passing La Vega. See she was supposed to leave earlier but didn't. I walked outside immigration and went over to Bon where I was supposed to meet up with a chick that my brother hooked me up with. My brother had met a chick on Cupid a few days before he left for DR and decided to put me on her sister. The girl wasn't there, which was a relief. I called her cell several times, but no answer. I decided to wait 5 more minutes just in case then I started walking off to go pick up my car. As soon as I walked off the girl was coming toward me from the direction that I was going.
I asked her where she had been. She said that she didn't see me there earlier so she went where ever. We went to get the car and headed toward Boca Chica. I had been calling and whatsapping my brother since I had arrived but there was no answer. The girl told me that she had cooked chicken and rice before she left the house. I started thinking wait a minute. If I go all the way to Boca Chica how am I going to play it when old girl arrives at Caribe downtown? Since I was between a pimp and a hard place I had to do some quick thinking. Lucky for me the girl had been hard head and did not bring her bikini like I told her. I was able to play off that and tell her that I would just rather go back to her house and eat what she cooked since she didn't bring her beach clothes anyway. She thought it was a good idea so I busted a U-turn and headed back towards the city.
We pulled up in her barrio in Santo Domingo East. I went inside and saw that fine ass neice she had whose titties were damn near hanging out the side of her shirt. I had to sneak a picture on the sly. Finally my brother called my ass back and said he was staying at the Barcelo. I told him that I was at the chick's house who he had put me on, but I had to pick up my girl from Santiago when she arrived at Caribe and I would be there then. (Good thing the chick he hooked me up with didn't speak English.) I fooled around in old girl's house shooting the shit for a little while longer when the chick finally called to say she had arrived. I acted like it was my brother who was calling and said some jibberish in English while acknowledging the chick with a few "ok's" to let her know I would be there shortly.
I hung up and let Miss Big Booty know that I was going to go meet up with my brother and I would come back later. She insisted that she would go with me to see my brother, but I shot that idea of hers down quickly. She assumed that I would not return, but of course I lied and said that I would. She thought that I didn't remember the directions to get back to her house, but I told her step by step how we had gotten there so she was confident that I would return.
I picked my girl up at Caribe and called to let my brother know we would be there shortly. We parked in the lot and walked in Barcelo waiting for my brother to come down and get us. He first showed us the pool area then we went up to check out the room and sip on some Imperial. He had another chick with him and said that he hadn't had a chance to meet up with the Cupid girl whose sister he hooked me up with. I was getting bored at the Barcelo, not to mention I was hungry. I brought up the idea of going to eat fish and hang on the beach in Boca Chica. I asked my girl if she wanted to stay in the capital or stay in Boca Chica for the night. Hell, either one was good for her because this was her first time in Santo Domingo anyway. (She said that it looks pretty much like it does on TV and was enamored with the length of the shore on the highway to Boca Chica.) I said well the beach is in Boca Chica so she decided we would stay there. When we got to the car I saw that some a-hole had parked so close that there was no way I could get through the driver's side door, so I had to crawl in through the passenger side. Damn Dominicans! Since we were not returning to the capital, my brother and his girl followed us in his rental car.
First I stopped by Costa Lunga to make sure they had a room for us for the night. Yep. And at the same $45 rate that it has been since I first came to DR almost 10 years ago. (BTW later when I told my girl how much the room cost she thought it to be very expensive. I told her she didn't want to know how much my brother paid for the Barcelo then.) I told the day manager that I would come back for the room later that evening after we finished at the beach. We ate fish from the lady that I always go to in the blue stall directly next to the bank. After that we went to sailor bar to drink pina coladas. It finally started getting dark and I was tired as hell so I gave my brother a quick tour of the strip (previously I did not know that he had never been to Boca Chica before) as we walked back to our cars.
Guess what? My girl did not bring anything with her from Santiago because she did not know she would be staying so we had to go to a clothing shop to get her something to wear for the next day and to the grocery store for water and her a toothbrush. 30 years old and this is actually her first time staying away from home.

I took a look via google and calle des pizzas looks nicer LOL.
Called conde runs from west to east. On the west end there a "local transit hub" so many dominicans going in and out. The street is lined with restaurants / cafes, gift shops, etc. The further you go east you see more hotels, and restaurants aimed at tourists.
Interms of women, there a lots normal dominican women walking around either going to school, work, or just shopping. For a newbie that dosent know sd, speak spanish, and have a lot of time, if you don't have a taxi, tout, guide or whaterever you want to call them, you will be limited to casa chicas, car washes or streetwalkers. Be aware that if a taxi driver takes you to a casa and you take a girl, then he will get 500 or 1000 pesos from the casa, which will be paid by you to the casa as part of the chica fee. The bus from Santiago to SD is excellent for about 500 RDIf you are willing to pay the taxi you should insist in paying upon delivery of the goods by having her forward you the driver's number and dealing directly with him. In regard to the pills I take Elevex regularly (cialis) without any side effects (120 for 3). You don't need prescription for anything other than narcotics (codeine for example) and amphetamines. Yes, you can buy any of these things over the counter in any pharmacy, or even in convenience stores. There are pharmacies all over the place, except on the Malecon, so if you are walking just ask anyone where the nearest one is, or if in a taxi, ask the taxi driver to stop at one. There will also be one pharmacy that is open all night for medical emergencies and taxi drivers will probably know which one it is, or able to ask other taxi drivers until they find out. The generics are fine and much cheaper. If anyone has died from taking them, they have probably swallowed a whole bottle at once so as to get really, really hard. I would not rely on any information of this kind from chicas anyway. Most of them are not in the 90th percentile on the SATs.

She would have to switch buses un SD to go to BC. Sounds to me as if she's taking you for a ride. If you send her money earlier than the day she is supposed to come see you, expect her to ask for more money.
You might get lucky, but chances are slim you'll get GFE and slimmer that you'll get to use the anal lube. You're better off buying a small bottle and bringing it with you, same with condoms. Please note that the buses like Caribe, all, end their trips at Santo Domingo city, coming from the North, as in Santiago. The buses that travel towards Boca chica, are smaller buses, known as guagua and those leave from different terminals requiring one to grab a local bus or similar from say, Caribe terminus. As Charles Pooter stated, chances are that the lady has connections in boca chica which explains her routing prior to Santo Domingo for Barcelo. I also agree 100 pesos (for guagua) from Boca Chica to SDQ is a very honest price, I recently paid 70 pesos from Parque Enriquillo (all Boca Chica bus terminus) to Boca Chica on an express mini bus.
I also agree with Frannie about the DR women on their SAT score. Their grapevine stories are better ignored. Drug stores are a dime a dozen and you get the brand names as well as generics.

Don't try to apply logic to the way things are done in the DR, you'll only end up with a headache.
If you're only planning on sending $50 and you're staying at Barcelo, that's not much of a risk. That's about the difference between the room price for one night at Barcelo rather than at one of the hotels more commonly used by board members. You will want to verify the guest policy at Barcelo. Unless she is with you at check-in, they may not allow her in your room. I don't remember whether they are chica friendly or not. I'm sure the answer can be found here somewhere.

Nobody commented on your trip report, so I'll take a stab at it. I think the phrase "eaten alive by SD" is a bit of a hyperbole. Sure you may overpay a couple thousand peso here and there, wasting time chasing after dead leads, and you may most certainly get hassled by the cops in the capitol. To me "eaten alive" would mean some serious shit like a monger was drugged, robbed and held ransom. So far I haven't seen that in SD. In your case looks like you knew what the casas were charging going in, so you weren't ripped off, rather just didn't quite live up to your expectation. And you handled the cop fine - 500 pesos is a good deal.
Did the Haitian kid catch your attention because he was speaking English to you? Next time you know not to bother. I'll let them shine / shampoo my sneakers when I'm sitting on a park bench, that's about it.

Caribe tours from Santiago to Santo Domingo stops in Santo Domingo. To get to Boca Chica via Caribe she will have to get off the bus in SD, then take a different bus to Boca Chica. Don't try to apply logic to the way things are done in the DR, you'll only end up with a headache.
If you're only planning on sending $50 and you're staying at Barcelo, that's not much of a risk. That's about the difference between the room price for one night at Barcelo rather than at one of the hotels more commonly used by board members. You will want to verify the guest policy at Barcelo. Unless she is with you at check-in, they may not allow her in your room. I don't remember whether they are chica friendly or not. I'm sure the answer can be found here somewhere.Caribe does not stop in Boca. Guaguas run every 10 minutes or so and that is how all the locals travel. If you have a big bag like 40 kg it is taxi time. From centro SD I was quoted 1500 to 2400, I paid 900 dop, just by asking 3 taxis returning I paid 1200 in August.

My rookie trip as a monger was to Santo Domingo 17 years ago. I was not aware of the existence of the mongers training camp like Sosua or Blackbeards. I did not know of the existence of this forum or any other that will provide helpful information to this rookie. In fact the original intention for the first trip to Dominican Republic was to have a regular vacation. So I told everyone that I was going to Santo Domingo for vacation. Every one began to warn me about the country. My mom told me: be careful, I have heard that once you leave your plane there are lots of prostitutes outside the plane offering their services and they will throw stones to you if you dont accept their advances. She was serious about it. A co-worker and other people told me to be careful with putas. So I got the impression that all Dominican girls are putas. Later I learned that all guys are cab or motoconcho drivers. So I asked my brother about the city because he had been in SD several times. So he showed me lots of pictures of his trips with his coworkers and the Dominican ladies.
They were having fun and thats what I want.
It was summer of 1998 when I first arrived to Dominican Republic. My airfare cost was $69 roundtrip. My first surprise was not seeing a city next to the airport. My second surprise was to pay an entrance fee, something that was unexpected. My third surprise was entering to an airport facility with no air conditioning, outdated worn out furniture and unprofessional service and very long lines. After customs I went to change dollars for pesos, I believe the exchange rate was around 15 pesos per dollar. I paid the cab driver $30 for my trip to the city, I thought it was expensive until I learned how far the city was. A distance like that cost more in my country so it was a good deal to pay $30 pesos this rookie thought. Later on the trip I learned that it was not good to use my countries cost as a reference of what to pay in SD. The trip to the city was scary for me as I was not used to the way they drive in the Dominican Republic. My soul went off my body several times. The driver offered me to a place with 300 working ladies before reaching to my hotel but I declined, I just wanted to be inside a safe place.
We arrived to guest friendly Hotel Jaragua 30 minutes later. I got a room in the gardens with breakfast included. It was nice, the first pleasant surprise of my trip. I spent a couple of hours in my room while waiting for my brother who arrived a couple of days earlier and was staying in another hotel. He took me to Villar Hermanos which was an open place with no air conditioner, the noise and fumes from cars on Independencia were not nice for this rookie. I went back to my hotel and later that night I went to the Merengue Bar inside the casino to enjoy live music so I seated in a corner of the bar. The band was performing and I was enjoying but having the strange feeling you sometimes have when somebody is looking at you. I decided to look to my right and wtf! There were about 15 girls next to me, they all smiled when I peek at them. It was shocking and took me a couple of minutes to realize that all were working girls. I was not used to this scenario, girls providing sex services in the very same place I was staying was something out of my mind. I chose a girl who asked me $100 US for an all nighter, I told her I was going to pay her $40 and the rest the other day when I got more money. My uncles often tell stories about the late 90's in SD. Puerto Plata was just a one dirt road town and Sosua was just a beach but SD had a university full of willing women waiting on a gringo. Gringos were rare and exotic with a sense of adventure. You took the tourist route that's why the girls were asking tourist prices but if you had taken a risk and explored you would have experienced a different SD on your first trip.
I'm in the process of enrolling in OPEC to further develop my Spanish but it confuses me to see Latin guys with all the gifts taking the same road non Spanish speakers take. But I guess some Latin guys don't want the commitment and just want to fuck, which is cool.

And also as you all have stated once your knowledge of Spanish grows your pool grows. I have shook those 3 I met but have a whole new group and have more hope for these as we talk more on what app, skype and tango but I always keep in mind to be guarded because if you ain't Dominican or there every month you still get in the club but you ain't a member LOL. Planning another trip in October open to any suggestions to refine my hunting. Set out a wide net but narrowed it down to 3 and hoping to mix in some Casas this time. I can't offer deep insight like you all vets but I want to give a shout out because with you all game I was able to work it out. So to offer mine to the board I'd tell a rookie don't get too wrapped up in it because them pretty hoes will have you going get ha Spanish up and it's levels to this shit meaning me I do a bit pre tricking as one member stated, tell me you will bring perfume or lingerie one I'm talking to now what's a vibrator jajaj maybe a few WU trips for me $50 here or there ain't killing me just keeps me off the stroll at home hahah but they will already be greased up and ready, but do what you can be ready to say no, and when you do be ready to find another haha. l.Spanish knowledge helps, off course. During my first years all large hotels were guest friendly. It was common to see girls in the casino, lobby, alleys and gardens of the hotel. I had fun just by sitting by Jaragua Independencia parking area alleys looking the girls walk up and down. All of them talked to me offering their services. I was with a cousin when we met two pretty ladies, we paid them around $40. We went to eat to the, Luis Parrillada, it was my first time there and I liked it. One of the girls wanted to get food for her mom and the other who apparently was the leader of the two told her no because she was abusing of us.
My cousin and I spent the second half of the trip in Juan Dolio in a villa complex that wa part of Barcelo Capella. Yes, it makes day to day living more convenient but it also makes it easier for scammers, touts, and corrupt police to ply their trade on you. We have tap water service in 100% of the island while in Dominican Republic you are advised not to drink tap water. I have 24/7 electricity all the year, in Dominican Republic only certain areas can affirm that. Although we have inflation because of new taxation most items are cheaper and original (not counterfeit) in Puerto Rico compared to Dominican Republic. The list can go on.
When I first traveled to Dominican Republic I know little about this country. Our major reference about DR was hundreds of people trying to arrive to my country every month in fragile boats persuing a better life. The people that I met from DR before coming here first time were all poor so my impression about DR was biased. Every time a discussion about DR was about how poor that people was, how grateful we should be of our relationship with the United States (this impression is now changing because of the effect of current public policies of the US that is harming us). So when I first visited DR I was impressed by airport outdated facilities, the lack of air conditioner in a lot of places, malls were not common, the street noise and car fumes were terrible compared to my country among other things. But I fell in love with this country and I have been here over 40 times.
My parents are a lot different than I am. They believe and were raised under catholic values. I once heard my father horrified talking to my mom about a news related to certain new perverted modality called oral sex. So now you can understand my mom warning.

In Puerto Rico you are not going to find girls in malls and colleges to arrange for sexual encounters, I expected Dominican Republic to be similar so I did not venture into those places. Puerto Rico is similar to the USA in that aspect. I also was warned about how dangerous DR was so I played it safe.

Although Puerto Rico is currently in financial trouble in general terms our standard of life is a lot better than in Dominican Republic...Thanks much for that post. I have never visited Puerto Rico and my knowledge is influenced by movies (actually, great musicals) such as The West side Story (with legendary Natalie Wood) on one side and the recent news of Hedge Funds telling the Island Government to cut down on public expenditure. Of course, I would expect the infra structure in Puerto Rico to be way superior, being a US territory but I assumed the culture of the two islands would be similar. Your story reminds me of another: About 30 years back, when I visited Richmond, VA, for the first time, I was surprised to see the airport had a wooden structure, something unthinkable in my neck of the woods, where it is concrete. SD cabanas are wond4 erful. The DR is criticized for not doing things very well. However their cabanas are great. Most cab drivers can tell you the best ones. Baseball and Cabanas the DR is world class.

I am thinking to rent again and I found a nice 1 bed apt at Apartamento Ejecutivo Vista Ciudad. This place has a large swimming pool and it is next to Guibia Public Beach so I can spent a few hours a day in a resort-like environment swimming and sun-bathing. From the forum I learned that for a newbie with very little Spanish it is better to stay on or near Av. Pasteur where the most of the P4P action takes place. Although the said area is just within 20-30 minutes of walk distance from the apartment, I wonder whether this distance would be a problem when taking girls out to my place for an hour or two session. I appreciate if more experienced members give me a hint or two in case I am missing something worth considering.

In the past, where large hotels were guest friendly and the other choice available was to go to the far away cabañas area, short term was 4 hours, I do not know how much time it currently is but have read about 2 hours in some posts.

Thanks in advance.I have been to the DR about 25 times in my life, mostly in Sto. Domingo. I have also been to Brazil about the same number of times, although maybe only 10 times in Rio. Its hard to answer your question, because you have not defined your priorities.
Here is how I think about SD. If you just want a pleasant no hassle situation, and are wiling to pay a little bit extra, the Palacio fits the bill. You can bring in three chicas at a time, as long as they have cedulas, and the hotel management won't care. There are no extra charges, nor any real hassle, although the receptionist may look at you as if you are a pervert. This can be heartbreaking, as sometimes the night receptionist is a knockout, and you know she thinks badly of you, but asi es la vida.
I think that the Palacio is really nice, especially the suites (which are very spacious and impressive in an old money kind of way), but it is not a 5 star hotel by any means. The pool is just OK. You would never confuse the Palacio for the Jaragua, but when it comes to taking women back to your room, its much less hassle. And, its not terribly expensive (usually between $75 and $130 a night), its very clean and has good security. I find it to be perfect for my tastes and my budget. Its also near the Parque Colon, which is a great meeting place, and occasionally a place where a pretty hooker can be picked up. There is great dining at the Plaza de Espaa, which is in walking distance from the hotel, and there is cheap food on the Conde.
On the other hand, I have been checking out some apartments, and they are definitely an attractive alternative. I worry that they might not be as secure as a hotel (I have been robbed several times in the DR, but never in my hotel). I believe that some of them don't really do a identity check, which can work in our favor (some of the girls stupidly forget to bring their cards, but are clearly safe to bring into the hotel) or can be bad (some of the girls are [CodeWord902] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord902), and the hotels figure this out quickly. Without the cedula check, a mongerer could easily get into trouble in the DR. Furthermore, the girls know that if they steal something from you, the hotel has their name and address. I actually strongly favor the identity check). As for the distance to the main mongering areas, I would point out a few things: 1) there are girls to be found virtually EVERYWHERE in Sto Domingo. You are never far away from action, and if you don't believe me, ask any cab driver at 11 pm at night. Girls are never more than 15 minutes away. 2) Taxis are really cheap. The problem for gringos is that the drivers routinely try to charge us double. Ask a girl to negotiate the price or (if you stay in a hotel) ask the front desk to ask what the price is for a ride, and you will be fine. As a general rule, you should never get into the taxi until you know what the driver intends to charge you.

Mister was also very nice, the girl I usually hang with called me ended up hanging the rest of my visit, she's a sweetie and always pleases, sin limite. We spend a night drinking at La Barreca and various other spots all over town. She complained because of having to drive but I'm sure not going to.

For this reason I picked Hotel Ramada Princess Casino, since I figured it'd have women either in the casino, or the two clubs inside. Turned out there were no stray putas hanging about in the casino, I was told the management prohibits it. But the clubs -- wow lots of talents! Lots of beautiful young women in miniskirts. At first glance a lot of them came in groups, and or with male companions. Everybody was dressed up and made up. I saw a few expat gringos types who look like they've just gotten off work. I danced with a few girls, but the high decibels of club music made it difficult to communicate. Well actually it was due to my lack of game. But wait, I thought all Dominicanas are full-on pros?? I trust the Intel on this forum right?

Somebody explain to me why some go to the capital after being told its not microwave action. There is an abundance of action but it takes planning, language skills and at times capital. I use to hate this but god dayum RTFF.

What is the GBP? What does that stand for? Where is it located?GBP is Gimnasio Bar Privado, I remember the place had a room with exercise equipment, I do not know if they still have them. The place is located on 27 de febrero Avenue in Plaza Guridy which is next to Arysmendy Motors. Ask a cab driver for Arysmendy Motors as the place do not have a visible sign from the street. It has a neon GBP sign on the door. It is on the second level of Plaza guridy, once you go upstairs it is the first door to your right.
The place is a bar with working girls, it cost a fraction of the casas near the malecon.

It is funny I was expecting from you the description you provided. I asked 2 working ladies I know about the place. Experienced girls have been in almost every hotel of the country. They described the place as very nice, pretty and modern. I understand they are comparing the place to their neighborhood houses. Your description fits some travel comments I have read. A comfortable bed and an ice cold air conditioner are a plus and the hotel is girl friendly too It is not expensive. I understand there is not much to do walking distance from the place.

It seems that no matter which one you have a reservation at, they will try to send you to the other one. There was a lot of confusion while they figured things out. Took almost an hour before I could get into my room.
