My girl spent the night and she had a early class this morning at a hospital (yes, that is correct: Medical Student) in Santo Domingo. I think it was a little before 7 AM and she was hitting Oper Taxi up in whatsapp. They were a little slow to respond so I said get on the phone. And I pulled out my iPhone to call her up a Uber (oh shit! I can hear the snickering now). She told me to wait. I called up program. Entered the destination and my location. Price estimate was 152 - 186 DOP with a 9 minute wait. My girl was like: "fuck that! Oper Taxi just told me 3 minutes". Thanked me. Gave me a kiss and she was out the door. Later, I asked her how much the taxi was to her destination: 250 DOP.
She is Dominican. She is paying with her own money. And medical students don't have a minute to waste. Now, I understand how some "struggle" to understand situations like this but I don't. Being a sexual tourist or sexpat with all the time in the world (and most of the money) allows one to leisurely move about the city (Santo Domingo and Santo Domingo Este) at ones own pace. I get that. What I don't get are sweeping statements that indicate a inability to step into the shoes of others and see their choices may make perfect sense to them.
In other Uber news: Waymo v, Uber trial. From CNET: "The trial kicked off on Monday with Waymo's lawyer Charles Verhoeven describing Uber as a cut-throat company that would do anything to win, including stealing from competitors and breaking the law. During Kalanick's testimony, Waymo attorney's showed him notes from a meeting held in late 2015 with members of Uber's self-driving project. The notes included a wish list that read: "source, all of their data, Tagging, road map, pound of flesh, IP".
Pound of flesh & IP. Wow! That's a smoking gun if I ever saw one! Good thing for him it isn't a murder trial. Because those notes go straight to showing motive.

You are correct about Embassy Suites and Hampton Inn. In the Colonial Zone a lot of guys stay at Hotel Roma on near the Conde on 19 de Marzo. The Penalba in front of the cathedral on the corner of the Conde and Arzobispo Merino is also girl friendly and closer in class to the Embassy Suites or Hampton Inn. The Palacio Hotel on Duarte near the Conde is also nice and accepts girls. You will find girls walking up and down the Conde. Prime time if late afternoon once the sun gets low and later. Just go to Boca chica, which is 35 minutes from SD and closer to the airport. Everything is walkable; Bars, discos, working girl houses and a beach.
The Conde gets boring quickly and the girls can be even more shady than BC.
No one ever listens when we tell them this and they end up paying 150 USD for a girl out the casa who usually does rush service. The girls on Conde will know you are new and run some kind of bullshit. Maybe BC might be too seedy for you but if you have money to throw around, good luck in SD.
50 bucks a night with a decent breakfast at the top of El Conde. The furniture is 2 years old and the place is well managed. Recently remodelled. You are 50 yards from a hang out spot called Pacos or Grands. Many expats sit and ogle what walks by. There are always 3 or 4 working girls drinking a beer waiting for some action. The working girls are not outsranding but many are doable. You can also invite one of the massage girls back to your room. Some of these girls are very attractive and will roll for 2000 pesos with no problem. I stayed at Roas last month and it is very worn but is very cheap. $40 bucks.

In my modest mongering experience in 6 cities on three continents, including the DR in the past year, I have found no connection between price and quality of the experience. In fact, I have found the best experiences have been at the lower end of the price range specific to the locality. As someone else posted on another forum, overpaying reaps bad service and resentment (or something to that effect). Paying a fair price without being a skinflint "Cheap Charlie" gets you respect, and the girl understands you expect her to perform to your satisfaction. Oh, and don't pay up front in the DR. Payment comes right before you open the door for them to leave. Let them linger and that's when the begging for a propina can get out of hand.

Its clean relatively cheap, $50 one bedroom apt, $70 two bedroom apt (decent space, two balconies, good security). I know the owner there and work directly with her. Also I have some, chicas there and a contact on the ground that can help you navigate. He would be considered a tout but has never asked me for money. I don't have out with him much anymore but when I do I would just get him a beer when we were out and give him any left over gifts (chocolate, body sprays, etc) I had when I was leaving.

The touts in Boca Chica will eat a newbie alive. The buses run multiple times per day and are like tour buses with air condition (think of the Mega Bus here in the US).

I stayed at the Barcelo SD, and it had some minor maintenance issues but they upgraded me to the 9th floor executive room with addl benefits. The Piano Bar they have in the lobby area is quite nice.
Hit Zona Colonial a couple of nights with one of my chicas who came in Santiago for 5 nights. Not impressed with the area. Saw some streetwalker type girls hanging around. Also, older women clearly looking for a customer at ONNO's bar and restaurant, if that's your thing.
Uber works great in SD and I highly recommend. Checked out Blue Mall and Sambil Mall a few times for restaurant selections. Sambil in particular walking dsitance from Barcelo or 70 pesos with Uber.
Sambil has a number of banks and at one money exchange place. Banks were same rate for USD of 47.40 in both SD airport and Banks. Small exchange booth USD was 47.80 . Very good rates IMO given WSJ rate of 48.04. Also, many places to get a RD SIM card if you want.
Had second chica, who I also knew from before, come in from Puerto Plata for 4 days. And another I met up with in Punta Caa who was working now at a different resort. Never talked money with any of them ahead of time and paid all of them 2500 per day..So the Barceló is chica friendly?

I don't know what the Pasteur places are called these days. You will have zero problems locating them. There are two or three and they are the only buildings with doormen outside. There are no girls officially at Mystik but girls who work on the street behind the malecon hotels wander by and look for guys drinking at the outdoor tables. While I agree that Santo Domingo offers way more for the hobbyist (one with balls!) Sosua has its charms. It's just a different experience, apple vs orange. Sosua has a nice beach, and is very relaxed. SD is a big unfriendly city.
They are only a four-hour bus ride apart, so my solution is generally to do both in the same trip.
That said, Santo Domingo is really a hidden goldmine. It's certainly more difficult to navigate than most mongering destinations. Left Guyana at 14.30 hours on copa flight it was on time.
Arrived in Panama at 17.20 hours then left 19.00 hours to Santo Domingo.
Got in at SDQ 22.30 hours flight was half full paid 10 USD for tourist entry then immigration was finger printed.
No checked luggage so pass customs quickly. As there was very few tourist I paid airport taxi 30 USD he wanted 40 USD I said 30 he lets go.

I arrived here in Santo Domingo Saturday, and rented a car for the first time. I now understand the mobility that it provides. Driving around has been a breeze so far. I did get pulled over by the police yesterday on avenida Espana on my way to Juan dolio, but I just spoke English only, and was on my way. I didn't pay them a dime. Thanks to this board I was prepared, and kinda expected it. Tonight I plan to hit up gbp. You speak Spanish and have a history of putting cops on the defensive and holding them accountable but someone who doesn't speak Spanish and have no understating on how to handle it might get fucked. Driving in SD is demolition derby. I drove there successfuly for 1 week. I promised my self I would never do it aqain Not sure how teflon Mr E. Long overdue report, but my mongering buddy and I were in Santo Domingo for 5-days in December, stayed at Hotel Shakey in a 2-bed apartment on the top floor, which was a perfect Chica friendly hotel in a great location, only catch is your only allowed one guest each. Nice apartment with full kitchen and living room (no AC so get a top floor unit so you get a breeze from the balcony), and two AC bedrooms. Good security and nice front desk dudes. Pasteur & George Washington Avenue next to the Crown Plaza hotel.
This was our second DR trip, both in Santo Domingo, and it was better than the first. My favorite 305 club was closed so we mostly hit the smaller clubs on Pasteur avenue for takeout, $100-150 for 2-3 hours, and even a few street walkers for $50 or less, mixed results of course. One girl was a total ***** and my friend threw her out before either of us fucked her, another was awesome and we double teamed her for hours, did lines, gave us nonstop BBBJ's, and even took it up the ass (covered of course). I think we payed her $50. Can't beat that!
Oasis was our go to spot, great selection of 30+Chicas with some real spinners in the bunch, I think it was $80-100 for 1-hour on-site, rooms were clean with AC and bathrooms, and girls like to party with the gringos. You are dead on point! If I didn't live here I wouldn't drive here either. For my first seven months of being here I didn't drive. I took taxis nearly everywhere I went or walked. And now with Uber in full effect that is another extremely effective method of transportation for many people. But, I've also been known to take a guagua or "transporte publico". So, I'm not sure if anyone should be taking Dominican Republic transportation advice from me. We are all grown men, some are in the arena (like me), some are critics (you know who you are). One has to weigh the pros and cons of driving here to get an idea if it's worth it. I've been coming here since 2012, and this is my first time renting a car. I've enjoyed it, and will probably do it again on my future trips, but I totally understand why someone wouldn't want to or in many cases shouldn't do it.

Stayed at Maison Gartreaux in Gascue, a two star with low price and nice staff. About a fifteen minute walk to Colonial Zone. Saw most of my regulars except the Venezuelan Vanilla flavored 36 DDD who has sadly disappeared. Maybe she went back to Venezuela with her new baby. I don't do the casas because it's cheaper and better to have them come to your hotel room IMO. For economy accommodations I stay at Maison Gartreaux in Gascue (it's behind the Crowne Paza on the Malecon). Clean, quiet, breakfast around $30/ night. Not the best of neighborhoods but I've never had any trouble. Fifteen minute walk to Colonial Zone. Sometimes I splurge and stay at Napolitano for the great view and swimming pool but it's $100/ night. I'm pretty sure every place in DR is guest friendly.

I've not found a good massage in SD. Avoid the touts in the Colonial Zone because they are ripoffs and not good massages. If you are willing to take 2 buses or a taxi to Don Julio beach there is an excellent massage girl on the beach there. I think her name is Mary. One was on a side road the other direction. Without directions I wouldn't find either one they are pretty hidden but had a surprisingly large number of girls in both.

If the goal is pick up girls from random encounters I think there would be better odds at transportation hubs like Parque Enriquillo, Luperón parada, or Duarte con Paris. One does not got o a mall for a pickup. Blue Mall on a Sunday night in food court is popping with chicks. You can be baby from cash money and pop. I'm not a huge fan of the heat, I'm an AC guy. I've always liked the malls for daytime action unless I'm in a place like San Jose that has good daytime action too. DR is not New York City. Parking is free. Gas is negligible at 1200 pesos/tank. So it is more like $100/week, not per day. If you are spending $20 to get to Boca Chica or $40 to get to Santo Domingo from the airport, then the car has already paid for itself.
I'll be in Santo Domingo July 12 - 24. Possibly go up to Santiago sometime in there or over to Samana or just Don Julio. If anyone wants to hang out for some beer PM please. I visited Santo Domingo using the ferry from San Juan, Puerto Rico. We left my island by 7:00 pm And arrived to Santo Domingo by 8:00 am Cost was $180.00 round trip plus $30.00 taxes ($10 entry $20 exit) plus $23 per dinner and breakfast buffet per way and $65 per room per way up to 4 people. Once we get out of the ferry we called an Uber to Hotel Palacio. The cost was 90 pesos, less than $2. Most of our short rides were around 90 to 120 pesos with Uber. For larger routes taxi companies provided cheaper rides. I never paid more than 170 pesos.
We booked two rooms in Palacio, one standard for $60 per night for my nephew and his La Romana girlfriend and one $80 suite for me and my multiple guests. I get my room shortly after 10:00 am While my nephew had to wait until 2:00 pm We went to my room. It has a king bed with a living room with two leather loveseats, a desktop computer, one bar with the mini bar fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and a kitchenette. My stay was as pleasant as it can be with the ice cold air conditioner working to perfection.
We went to Franks and exchanged at 49.20 per dollar. Banreservas was giving 48.90. We headed to Supermercado Nacional to get some snacks and drinks. At that very moment the girl from the cruise ship texted my nephew telling that she is in Colonial Zone. Less than a minute later we found her in front of Roma so guess what? They old ferry was destroyed by a fire so they get a newer, bigger and remodeled one months ago. You can transport your car (you should have car tittle) from and to Santo Domingo. I love Santo Domingo. Was a wonderful mongering trip. Pulled the most girls out of Casa Theresa, I did some tinder and stuff and picked up some girls at the mall. At the Jaraguar you have to check in the girls, the JW elevator is on Blue mall ground floor so you can pass right by the front desk which is on like floor 14 ish. Let me start by saying that I was pleasantly surprise with my first trip to SD. I went there for a wedding on July 4 but I didn't start getting dirty unitl Sunday night. MR E recommended Hotel Danae on calle Danae near el centro colonial and el Malecand. I used to SD google maps link on this forum and walked 3 blocks to Bar 21 and another club next door all on Av. I would think that the Dominican women are as much normally distributed as any place else in the world, having factored in social class, poverty and education, given that they are part of the human race but we also know people are stereotyped all the time. I would also say those "extranjeros" that think that way, are also outliers. They would think the same of Thai or Brazilian women or their neighborhood in the Bronx or wherever.
