Going to Sano Domingo next month not sure I can rely on action in Sosua. I have 5 ladies waiting in SD. Very hard to choose between the ladies but that is always the case in the DR. Those first two weeks of July that include the 4th of July is are always hella expensive.

I will be in SAnto Domingo in a few weeks. It is not point and click place. There are internet sites you can use to meet willing women. I have had success with Dominican Cupid. If I only traveled to DR, Brazil, Colombia, etc, then it may be okay to use the country specific one. But no sense for me to pay for them individually when there is one with them all together. If you are going to be in the country for months you will have much more than enough time to figure it out on your own. I and others can give you some time saving tips but we would only be guessing since all you said about you and your preferences is how much you expect to pay for your flight and your city of departure. Speaking on that, my flight will land at nighttime in the middle of the curfew times.
Anyone, who is on the ground now, care to share what is it like in Santo Domingo with a curfew?
This will be my first time being in place under those conditions (out of 100's of lifetime trips). I just curious.

Well that's a silly question. How do you expect it to be like, DEAD. If no one can be out during a curfew how could it be anything but dead.

This will be my first time being in place under those conditions (out of 100's of lifetime trips). I just curious.Travellers from and to the airports will be allow on the roads upon showing some proof that still seems undefined. Uber will be serving those people and I imagine you will have to send copy of your itenerary when booking. Beaches will remain open but no pools or river "balnearios". Regarding girls, if you have been here for a while and have a network of chicas, there is not change to speak of. Now if you just arrive the opportunities will be less since all night venues won't exist. Try social media for a few days before arrival and see what pops up. Eliminate anyone requesting gifts. Very low probability of air traffic stopping again given the preasure of the resorts sector and the need for foreing cuurency.

Now if a mf is doing some volunteer work (non-pro) you may let them choose from a list of times and a list of tasks. It was as you described, very inconsistent. I know I could have skirted the test requirement but I was curious about the procedure and interested in a PCR result. One was Mexican place outside bella vista mall. Even the little Venezuelan place around the block was open but most places are pretty empty.

Curfew has put things on a damper but if you are in SD during these times then make the best of it. Hotel Napolitano on Paseo Presidente Billini gets cranking right after curfew. The outdoor pool on the 2nd floor is where most of the action is. Music, food and drinks. Some chicas in the pool, some walking around flirting. It goes on late into the night.
During the day a few chicas in Parque Cervantes. People sit out and drink and listen to music. There is also a barbeque truck there. The ribs are really good for less than 200 DP, includes 1 side. El Conde is kind of slow. Little action. Colmado El Romodromo on Calle Palo Hincado has cold Jumbo Presidente beers for 150 DP.

I flew in last Sunday to SDQ quick temp check at airport and I was on my way via Uber to my hotel in the Colonial District. Nice room with ocean view, restaurants, pool & bar. Due to Coronavirus I wanted to keep the fun inside the hotel. I video chatted with about 10 woman I met from Seeking and selected one to show up Monday noon for 3 days and another on Thursday for one day. I had a great time and will return in 4-6 weeks for another round. Trip back to the airport was just as easy as coming in - 75 minutes from hotel to my gate.
My lessons learned.

But I can certainly get around and do all the things I need to do, and understand most of what I hear. Not to discourage anyone, but fluency is a long road for most of us. I still want to get there, but I'm not getting any younger and the only thing that would help now would be to live in a Spanish speaking location / situation, as in all Spanish, no English.

All true, but also true is the volume of deaths, hospitalizations, and confirmed infections are all significantly down in recent weeks. With the annual make or break tourism peak season coming up there is little justification for extending the curfew. On a practical level the curfew has been unenforceable in marginal barrios, large segments of the population are crammed into the metro, the cable cars, and carros publicos during daytime hours, and home delivery drivers are flying around the cities at night.

So far according to Dominican Today that hasn't been done, meaning this time they prob will end it for sure. Also people are beginning to protest, especially club / bar owners and employees. They want to be open just like hotels are. I'm heading there for two weeks in OCT hopefully I land in some good party vibes.

Sept. 27th is when the CURRENT curfew ends, it has been extended a zillion times, I expect it to continue but hopefully have the starting hours extended to a later time, fingers crossed as the President's wife has come out in support of a later start time and so hasn't Frank Raineiri the father of the AI resort in the DR, both having a lot of pull with El Presidente.It is now somewhat official, the curfew has been extended but the hours reduced to 9:00 pm on weekdays and 7:00 pm on weekends. Yes Sir, it is a done deal. I would be surprised if on the next review date (October 15 or thereabouts) the curfew is not eliminated entirely unless there is a massive uptick in virus cases. To leave any part of it in place would devastate the all important Christmas / New Year tourism season.

I was just informed from a woman I know that the curfew has now been changed to 9:00 pm Monday. Friday, but still remains 5:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully that will give a little more time for evening hookups. I will be heading there on the 22nd of September for a couple of weeks, so I will give my report.
I enjoyed last weeks visit to Santo Domingo so much that I just arranged my next trip in October. I will book one of the ladies I spent time with last week for the first two days, then spend a day drinking beer and smoking cigars to recuperate and try out a new lady for my last two days.

Tourism in the DR is dead as as a doornail as long as countries like Canada and others require a 14 day quarantine upon returning to their home country, the curfew does not affect tourism that much because most tourists to the DR go to all inclusive resorts and are not affected by the curfew one iota.

Something else to consider is the extensions are subject to review at least once during the 25 day extension periods. As for all inclusive resorts, they would need curfew exemptions for their employees to operate at peak season capacity. I agree that Semana Santa is as or more important to Dominicans as Three Kings / Christmas / New Year but of course all inclusive resorts and international tourism have little to do with Dominicans who don't work in the industry.

Today I'm doing my usual two hour walk on el Conde in the morning when one of the expats stopped me after my workout and said it's a festival going on just north of el Conde. We decided to go and it was nice, even got to meet the police chief Mr Sosa, cool dude. After the festival we went to the monger / expat office, the cigar shop by the park. One expat had his JBL portable speaker playing old school r&b then some jazz. Lovely spot to post up. Girls parading through, events like quinceras, people taking pictures with the pigeons, groups riding bikes and an old school painter in front of el Conde restaurant. The curfew is extended till 9 pm so this is the first time I've been out at nighttime.
My lady and son were at my apartment so I needed to get home but the party wasn't over. I mentioned to a friend at the cigar shop that I was going home and I had some Leyenda Brugal at the house and off we went. We saw another expat in front of National and invited him also. We sat on my huge balcony overlooking Zona Colonial and sipped on the liquor after my girl brought three glassed out, a bowl of ice and sliced lemons. Boney James played on my Sirius radio tv channel. The expats spent the next hour arguing about who has the worst Spanish LOL. I'm laughing because they both feel they are right and never admit when they aren't, funny shit, but I call it wasted energy. My girl came out with three plates of grilled chicken strips, French fries and tossed salad. I didn't even know she was cooking. We ate and the Fellas left at 9:15 pm not even worried about violating the curfew.
Anyone visiting Santo Domingo and wants to have a drink with the old city in the background hit me up. I just ask that you don't have insecurities about critics on an anonymous chat board. I'm a positive dude so let's appreciate the good things.
