The trip took place just before the hoax pandemic of 2020.
Mid to late February, so this report is really first timer impressions of DR, and given the time distance some details are hazy.
This isn't a report for the experts, its to help new visitors to understand the scene.

Use Uber from the airport to save on the taxis at arrivals. Its not a pretty city, in fact its pretty much hog-ugly. Like Birmingham in the UK with 25 degree heat. Freeways of dubious construction and endless mid and low level concrete accommodation. Cuba its not.
The lower levels of the hotel towards the front are a bit noisy from the ac units, and nearby parking lot.
Other than that its a good clean hotel, suited for monger activities. Not crazy party style, but send-her-to-my-room style visits.
Nice big bathroom and the toilet only smelled slightly of swamp. (Common in tropical parts). There's no room service but a 24 hour cafe was attached to the hotel.
Next day. Breakfast outside the thunderingly busy La Indpendencia, then a taxi into the main shopping street. "La Conde".
I took a seat at Paco's cafe at the end of the road and enjoyed the view. First thing: DR has a lot more mulatta and white women than I'd imagined. It was a much whiter population than I expected. Not to say there weren't all types though.

Of Imperial was priced at 985 DOP at Bocachica's Ole. The 1. 75 l. , a little over 2000. In general, brandy, wine and champagne are more expensive here than where I live in NY although prices there swing widely from one store to the other. One oddity,32 oz. Of Coors light for 138 DOP at the Ole vs. 22 oz of Presidente for 130 minimun at local colmados.

Here is my dilemma, right now I am not able to go on a monger trip for more than 2 to 3 days, which makes it expensive to go to sosua for just two days. Airfare to go to sosua is about $700 and to santo domingo it's about $350. If I spend 2 full days in DR I save already $350 by going to sando domingo, close to 20,000 peso. From what I read here 1 hour take out at a place like oasis is 5000 peso and 10,000 peso for all night. The flight saving from going to santo domingo allows me to have 4 sessions for 1 HR at 5,000 peso. Other options during the day could be GBP or maybe try my luck online but since I don't speak spanish it won't be easy to do the online thing.
What I want to know is how good are strippers as far quality and service. Are most girls in the strip clubs solid 9 or 10 when compared to sosua standards, and does the club expects them to perform well? For 5,000 I wouldn't want to hear leche papi after 10 min or being rushed.

He finally came back to the USA. He tried doing the internet thing and working abroad and getting USA wages but there were things that were just too expensive in other countries.

I am not sure things are cheaper in the USA as much as the cheap stuff is better organized. I have gotten great deals from street vendors in Mexico for example, but you just never know when they will be where.
As for booze, the best prices I have seen have been in Mexican border towns and in the USA Virgin islands and not the duty free shops. I have laughed at how expensive shit is there.
If I were a drinker, I would get an empty bottle of Patron and fill it with the tequila they sell in a border town for $5 a gallon and see if anyone could tell the difference. I bet no one would.
But the main reason for the variance in cost is taxes, and the USA was trying to do as much free trade as it could in the past. So the appliances we bought that are made in China are 50% cheaper than a lot of places that have high tariffs like Brazil.
The reason people in Argentina and Brazil flock to Paraguay is that they just have a flat 10% import tax. To me then, Paraguay is an interesting place: really hot and cheap women, an aquifer with double the water of the great lucks, a hydroelectric energy surplus, low cost goods, and low cost of living. However, I once had a "no show" who showed up 10 minutes after my back up (girl #2) arrived. Girl #1 was over 2 hours late. The front desk let her through as she was one of my regulars. But she walked right in on us in a very compromising position.
Of course, I did not feel guilty about having abandoned girl #1 but I felt badly about girl #2, whose privacy had been grievously violated. Girl #2 was also pissed at me, because she thought there was more romance than actually existed. And I was incredibly annoyed by all of the drama.

I stopped in JD about 2 years ago on the way to Punta Cana for one night. Not a whole lot to do here, as the cups said, might want to bring your on and go to the all inclusive. There are some good cafes and restaurants in town, however. And you can take some day tours to islands, etc. Not much info on JD, even 8 years ago.

My brother spent two years traveling all over the world convinced there was better out there. He finally came back to the USA. He tried doing the internet thing and working abroad and getting USA wages but there were things that were just too expensive in other countries.

I am not sure things are cheaper in the USA as much as the cheap stuff is better organized. I have gotten great deals from street vendors in Mexico for example, but you just never know when they will be where.
As for booze, the best prices I have seen have been in Mexican border towns and in the USA Virgin islands and not the duty free shops. I have laughed at how expensive shit is there.
If I were a drinker, I would get an empty bottle of Patron and fill it with the tequila they sell in a border town for $5 a gallon and see if anyone could tell the difference. I bet no one would.
But the main reason for the variance in cost is taxes, and the USA was trying to do as much free trade as it could in the past. So the appliances we bought that are made in China are 50% cheaper than a lot of places that have high tariffs like Brazil.
The reason people in Argentina and Brazil flock to Paraguay is that they just have a flat 10% import tax. To me then, Paraguay is an interesting place: really hot and cheap women, an aquifer with double the water of the great lucks, a hydroelectric energy surplus, low cost goods, and low cost of living. Besides being hard to get to, the other real problem with Paraguay is that it is boring as fuck.Ciudad del este borders Brasil and Argentina. Gray market is huge. I stayed on Brasil side at really nice hotel across from fox. Took a taxi to Paraguay and the driver said he used to buy electronics in Paraguay and then sell them to stores in Brasil. He would buy 20,000 worth of stuff and make huge profits. He said 1 out of 5-8 trips he would get caught and the cops would just take all his product. I asked why he was no longer doing it. Getting popped was factored into his expenses. I asked why he stopped and is driving a taxi. He said he got caught twice in a row and there went his cash tu buy product.
There was a guy in the crappy flea market place that did $7,000,000 per month in Nikon digital cameras. Last I heard they were buying up land and planting eucalyptus trees.
Paraguay is whacky. Asuncióand was actually cool and very cheap. Decent food at great prices etc.

I went back to the lab and collected the paper report that I presented at the airport today. You can still use the automated boarding pass printer at the airport but only after verification of the negative covid test results and clearance by the airline agent. You can not print a boarding pass from home or anywhere else. Don't let these covid related restrictive conditions scare you off the abundance of the wonderful times still to be had in the DR. By the way, on my return to the US, no one mentioned anything to me about having to quarantine.

But they were all wanting to help and, the young nurses, all females, couldn't have been any nicer; 3 of them tried too hard to stand out for being the best understanding my needs. But I remember the young ladies who collected the test sample asking me to come back for the physical report. I suspect it was their way of guaranteeing a 100% tight, boarding assurance and, a roughly $3 uber round trip, was a negligible expense for me.

I have been to Santo Domingo three times since the curfew started. They curfew is at 7 but they give you three hours afterwards to travel. So there is not problem getting where you need to go by vehicle during these hours, but once the time hits, curfew is enforced. Remember all restaurants close by curfew time at 7 and discos are still closed. There are some outdoor cafes that served alcohol that are open. YouTube toque de queda in Dominican Republic and you will see all the arrests during the curfew. New Years weekend the curfew was 12 in the afternoon because of the reckless partying during Christmas. It lasted for two weekends.

Not earth shattering info, but a while back I saw a post saying outback Santo Domingo was permanently closed. A few weeks back I made killer hot wings but wanted to order fries or similar delivery to save time. Outback was in the delivery app. Ordered blooming onion and maybe 20 minutes later it was delivered. GF and kids loved it, as most Dominicans dig anything new and "exotic" to them. They loved HRC last Sunday as well. Kids eat free sundays, so may be a semi regular deal.
For Starbucks fans the second Starbucks in SDQ appears to be where the bar and terrace was in outback. I did not enter either of them but it appears outback remodeled and downsized and Starbucks moved in. I am not a Starbucks guy but between downtown and acropolis you fans should be covered.
Was also surprised to find my fave piano bar was open. Decided to drive by when another bar was closed. Have not been in maybe two years. My old fave waitress met me in street though with a new lesbianish look. All good. Beer was ice cold. No dimes but some decent Dominicana's and venezolanas and good service. Not a casa, though I do not doubt deals are cut for after hours etc. May be worth checking other bars in the afternoon. This place opens at noon when they used to open at 4 PM. Good to know if I get bored.
Also espiral had a live band doing Marley tunes on Bob's Bday. They opened 11 am and closed 5 PM. Was great to get out and see some live music.
I may have to do more exploring when I have a slow work day and see what else is out there with modified hours etc.

I.They keep low profile. I added to google maps and they deleted. LOL. Total old school SDQ vibe. There used to be a ton of places like it. It is in between independencia and malecon but after Nunez. Will have to check a map. No idea of the street name etc. If you want straight P4P, this is not your spot. I am usually the youngest guy there and am close enough to 60 to taste it. The old businessmen that go there buy bottles, tip well and flirt a bit then go home to wife.
Was wondering if any of the upscale hotels are offering covid tests for guests to avoid dealing with clinics.

This morning I went to the main Amadita office in Gascue for a Covid Antigen test. I stood outside for 10 minutes and the line did not move 1 person. Last week my buddy told me he went to that testing center and before he got out the car, the line was back to the corner and the guard told him there is usually a 2 hour wait when it is that far. My buddy said he left and went to another Amadita clinic nearby at Independencia 362, where he was served straight away.
I was not about to stand there all day so I did the same. And in like fashion I was served right away. I paid 1,995 pesos with my American Express. I went in the back and the lady stuck the swab up my nose and told me to come back in 1 hour.
I went to eat at my empanada spot and kept checking the app for the results (there is a code at the bottom of your receipt that has to be entered along with your email and birthday), but nothing was coming up.
I returned to the clinic after 1 hour and received a printed copy of my results. I asked the lady why I could not pull it up on the app. She toyed around with my phone to no avail, then her coworker came. She said the email had to be registered in the system. She entered it into their system and viola, my results were available on the app.

Thanks for sharing that experience, that was my fear in the beginning. The other night I did a rehearsal run at that same lab's 24 facility just because I hate bad surprises. I guess it was around midnight when I went in. Took a few minutes to wake up the guard who was inside to unlock the door. Took another few minutes for someone to come out with a freshly brewed cup of tea, he was probably crashed out too. But same drill. 35 bucks or 2 k even. This place is fucking loud, and even though I enjoy a good salsa club (per my handle! In general I'm not of fan of the common combo of bad speakers and traffic noise I find here.
I'll report back more from my trip later. Met a bunch of hotties on Badoo before I came but they've been a bit flakey so far (no surprise I suppose). I have never been a fan of nighttime mongering spots, though I realize I am in the minority here. My post was really questioning the definition of "smart", as applied to women (or men for that matter). There's formal academic qualifications, and then there's "street smarts". Some OPs seem to place "my doctor chick" or "my lawyer chick" on a pedestal. I have been exposed to both in my professional career, and find the latter often lacking in common sense life skills, and in the ability to be truly happy with life.

Santo Domingo is where the big dogs roam. Bring your A game Spanish. I cannot recommend it for beginners. But that is how I started. With absolutely no Spanish skills. Got laid 2- 3 times a day my first trip (of a week). But since you are not me it means you may or may not be able to do what I did or even better. You are 45 minutes - 1 hour from Boca Chica and Juan Dolio respectively.
Punta Cana is a family area. But what no one has figured out here is that, there are a lot of girls that work there. And by work I mean regular jobs. If you are bringing basic game and Spanish skills your can work the locals. Plus, Higuey is 45 minutes away. If you work online game there is not a girl that will not come see you in Punta Cana. I fondly remember staying at the Jaragua Hotel. They had a piano bar in the lobby, a casino and a small night club where I would meet girls every night and take them back to my garden room in the back of the hotel.
Are hotel bars still a good place to meet pro and semi pro girls? Do they close early due to the curfew, or are they open to stay later since they are in the hotel?

I feel that Boca Chica is a bit dirty as well, although the ease of picking up girls (both pros and non-pros) is pretty nice. It is not Sosua (hooker central!) but Boca Chica is one of those places where you never need to sleep alone if that matters to you.
Personally, I far prefer Juan Dolio, although I can remember the names of any of the hotels in which I have stayed because I usually spend my nights in La Capital. InDriver is a ride sharing service. And works just as well as Uber but you need to know your prices. InDriver has less overall availability. The entire city has always been open. Are hotel bars still a good place to meet pro and semi pro girls? Do they close early due to the curfew, or are they open to stay later since they are in the hotel?

I been to DR a few times, however I only been to Santo Domingo one time, 2 months ago. I spent some quality times with 3 girls from tinder when I was there. I felt like I had to lied when I wanted to be free from there and don't want to create a relationship when I go there. My plan for my next trip is to try to get some girls from places like GDP and some girls from the bars or the streets.
For the men who been to GDP, is there a time of the day that it is more crowded. The last six months I've been on a DR island hop with no time to really post. I've visited Sousa, Puerto Plata, Nagua, Boca Chica, San Pedro, San Cristobal, Bani and my new favorite spot Barahona. Santo Domingo is still the spot especially where I live in Zona colonial. Good seeing all the guys from this board, Mr E, Triple darkness, Sam and the rest just passing through La Capital. For the adventurous few who aren't scared of traveling off the beaten path, I recommend Barahona. Beautiful water and waterfalls. They party at night till the curfew at the gas station / Colmado / restaurant, bars with pretty ladies everywhere. If you are there at night a wingman might be needed.
Cartagena appears to be the new Sousa but I'm watching Baranquilla for the summer.I'll see you there!

I have never found the Jaragua to be GF. I have stayed there twice in 15 years, the last time about 10 years ago. They kept hassling me over my registered GF (who was a dark skinned morena). Furthermore, the chicas in the casino are not very pretty, in my opinion (but, in a pinch, it is nice to know they are available).

I know you can purchase cigars at any grocery store but I had to hunt to find a cigar shop with a larger assortment of fine smokes. This one Cabinet has a nice selection but not too large. Google maps took me to the wrong address, but my Uber driver figured it out. So use the address on the card if you are trying to locate. The small shop is the store but adjacent left is a bar to smoke your cigar and have a drink. I went back to my hotel and enjoyed a smoke on the terrace.

I fly in this weekend for a 6 day visit. I normally line up two Latinas (in series not parallel, LOL) but this trip I will spend my time with only one. As my others, I met this one on Seeking. Patagonia was incredible but had gone downhill the last I went. Sofia over rated. Boga Boga I had veal so no clue on the steaks. Don Pepe is more spanish food but steaks are good. Don Nestor is good. Have not been in years and want to try the plaza de espana location. I have been customer of asadero argentino since 98. At argentinan places I prefer entrana or skirt steak. Ribeyes I do better at home.
The best ever was che tango in santiago. Better than any place in Buenos Aires. On most nights asadero argentino is on par with the best of Argentina but have had some so so nights as well.

After deplaning the security in uniform was directing some passengers toward some testing or health check. Thanks to Mr. Entertainment's advice, I avoid going with that group walked to the opposite side with only a temperature check. No delay. Went upstairs to grab an uber to hotel Jaguar. I will consider going to Airbnb next trip thanks to El Moreno 92 the Torre Armonia, looks like a great spot.
Jaguar had a temp scan for guests. I had a whatsapp lineup of DomCupids, GPB, and other non-casa chicas. Fantastic advice SubCmdr about cabanas, huge thanks for the extensive write-up. Got into town in the early afternoon, long drive to downtown to the hotel. Traffic from the bridge to the hotels was abysmal. I could have walked faster.
Got cleaned up and decided that I would go for a long walk along the Malecon to kill some time till stuff opened. Made the mistake of walking on the North side of the street until it was convenient to cross (Remember Frogger? Didn't want to go splat, I'm on my last quarter.) and had a literal allergy attack from all of the smog from the trucks. Always walk on the south side. I should have known better.
I ended up around the Malecon Center and the Catalonia, right before La Parilla, when I decided to turn around and head back along the ocean. Looked for "Shangri La" at the Malecon Center and couldn't find it. Was hoping for a fun afternoon massage. (The place I used to go in the Malecon Center was shut down over a year ago.) Can anyone clue me into where it is? All that was there were a few shops and government offices, it's not where google maps places it. Or I'm an idiot.
Ended up walking all the way back along the ocean down to where the clubs and bars are. Past the Adrian Tropical. Ended up getting picked up by a straggler who wanted to tell me the history of the town and be my tour guide. Ole' BlueFlyer's mama taught him to be polite so I let him give me his tired old pitch, and I was even kind and gave him two bucks for a Coke. But when he offered to chaperone me I had to tell him to "Fuck Off" pretty strongly, especially after he came back towards me a 2nd time to try to get a commission and raise my prices by at least 30%.
Ended up at Oasis. They were the only thing open at the time. The selection was pretty bad. I like the same type as the Cups and they only had one that barely fit the bill. Ended up talking down the bouncer from the original quote to a much less touristy price and headed up to the gal's closet. Would not recommend. Hot, uncomfortable, and she was a bad actress. As we did the dance of the positions she flipped around on me and a rank ass smell floated up from her backside. That immediately me shut down and not unlike the UK right now, my flag flew at haft mast. Was able to finish but not the experience I was hoping for.
I probably won't be back to Oasis for a long while.
Headed back to the States the next day.
Next time I'm in town, which will be next month, La Parilla to eat (maybe Villar Hermanos) because I haven't been there in a year and after everyone is talking about it it's probably the best food in the area. And something better Chica-wise at least more top heavy. I'll take any recommendations. And better directions to Shangri La if anyone has them.

My experience with Tinder girls are as follow:
Once I match with them on tinder, we chat and after a few convo, I would tell them that I would like to meet them. If a girl has naughty pics or she has pics in hotel room or hotel establishment, she might be a semi-pro (may not be %100 accurate). If a girl has a naughty pic, I would mentioned how much I would like to see her body in person. I only had one girl asked me to send her money before meeting and I unmatched her. Once they come to my hotel, we would spend about 30 minute chatting before I make a move or they would give me a hint. Once they leave, I would give them about 2000 Pesos, if I see them a second time, I would give them 500 pesos-1000 pesos to catch a ride depend on where they live. I never mentioned money with them.
My recommendations.
Don't make the impression that all Dominican girls are semi-pro or pro. Some girls on tinder are looking for relationship, friends with benefits and some want to have fun with tourist and hang out and some want to maintain arrangement relationship. Don't offer them money and be upfront with them. Just know that they will expect you to give them something whether after you had fun with them or after a few meetings.

Just returned from my visit to Santo Domingo. Entry and exit was easy although SDQ was very busy on my outbound flight. Took 45 minutes to get through security. I used the E-Ticket for entry / exit and VeriFLY for my exit. Covid test, attestation & <24 hour symptoms. Highly recommend.

I had there ribs which were ok. They have good cuts of meat. My first day I had to do plan b. Called one of my SD go to girls. This girl always satifies.

I think that guys go to the barber shops on the Conde for the tug (or to get laid, which is also possible) and could care less about the massage. The Conde barber shops have always been sufficient for a quick afternoon BBBJ to take the edge off. Last time I was on the Conde, a girl offered me BBBJTCIM for 3000 pesos (I passed but appreciated the rather expensive offer). The real problem with the Conde barber shops from my perspective is that 3/4's of the chicas are fat.

I no longer stay in hotels when in the DR. Uber and Airbnb are game changers I use to stay close to El Conde because it was safe easy to fine. With Uber and Airbnb the whole city is inplay. You get way more for your money and no hassle.I'm an Airbnb host and a guest. And having stayed off the tourist track, I must say that I'm found that Zona Colonial, Gazcue, Piantini and El million are the spots to stay at for decent internet and no to little Blackouts.
