I pass this hotel often on my way back to the Palacio. Now the Palacio is incredibly girl friendly (including the fact that the last time I was there, one of the maids offered herself to me when she came to clean the room; as she wasn't bad looking, I might have said yes except that I did not have the time).

Does anyone have experience with the Sofitel Frances Santo Domingo? It looks like a beautiful hotel, and it is relatively cheap on Expedia. Is it GIRL FRIENDLY (my only real criteria for a hotel. I have never been interested in the Jaragua for this reason).

Thanks

I interested in hearing more about this hotel, Palacio. I'm going in April and I need a new spot to rest. I getting tired of the struggles of Hotel Jaragua.

Sofitel Frances is an amazing place to stay, and yes, it is girl friendly. The building is centuries old and the rooms are incredibly beautiful, with the original high ceilings etc .. not your usual hotel at all ... I had a girl there for a short time once (I now live in Santo Domingo) and no problems.

Palacio also has an apartment building, with weekly rentals. Has anyone stayed here? How does it compare to the hotel? Here is a description from there website

"The Hotel Palacio has under his management small apartments for rent . This apartments ( studios and 1 bedroom apartments ) are located in the colonial city . 19 de Marzo street , next to the Conde Street and the Malecon. A new building ( 3 years old ) with the comfort you need . 24 hours watchman and emergency generator for full service. Cleaning service from Hotel Palacio daily. "

Where is this locationwise to Remington, Lapsus, etc?

Palacio is in the Colonial Zone. You can walk to Lapsus but it is a decent walk. Maybe 20-30 minutes by foot. Taxi would be 100 pesos, but not if you jump in a taxi out front of the hotel. Call Taxi Lino or Aero Taxi etc.

Remington is too far to walk, probably 20 minutes past Lapsus. I have walked from the Colonial Zone to the Jaragua which is very close to Lapsus many many times. From Lapsus to Remington I walked once! I was trying to grab a cab but Independencia is one way and I didn't have a cell that trip.

If you want to be closer to the action the Intercontinental is a better choice. For less money the Napolitano. For even less Riazor or Casona Dorada. . .and for the cheapest hotels that are not total dumps the places on Calle Danae are the cheapest that I would actually stay at. . . . .but I am not picky!

You are the man, thanks for the info. Between Intercontinental, the Napolitano, Riazor and Casona Dorada, which is better and more chica-friendly?

I will be in SD on Feb 10 - 12 and am trying to decide where to stay. I want close to action, extremely girl-friendly and nice. Less expensive would be nice, too. I am deciding between the Napolitano, Duque de Wellington and Riazor. Can anyone give me the pros & cons or suggestions? Thanks.

Has had a bad restaurant for a long time, maybe that has changed.

El Senorial around the corner is better all round. La Casona Dorada across the street is popular with many on the board, but I have always had problems with their rooms, many times and even having friends on their staff.

Neither is as nice as the more expensive Napolitano. Please share current prices after you get their.

Best of luck! The really pretty Santiago women that _are_ available are in SD and rarely found in Santiago or are at least not easy to bed there.

El Duque's rooms are nicer (i like the suites) but staff sucks. La Casona has a nice pool, though.

I'm not familiar with the Senorial. Based upon what I am hearing,my choices are now Napolitano, Riazor and Senorial. Are all girl friendly? Are all nice? When saying Senorial is best "all around" what does this mean? Anyone going to be in SD on Feb 10 - 12? Thanks.

Was in Casa de Modelos last night. Took home a gorgeous 20 yo morena who was lots of fun until we got to the hotel where she was all business and split after less than an hour of non GFE service (although she did look great with her clothese off).

That is the downside to the DR. There is far less "quality control" than the girls from the agencies in Rio. If she had been from Karla's, a phone call would have caused her serious problems. And,since you pay the house up front, you lose all of your leverage. Forcing the girls to stay the minimum 1 1/2 hours is never fun, so I let her go (plus, it was 3 in the morning, and I was tired anyway). She ended up calling me a "bad man" because I only gave her 100 pesos ($3) for taxi (that's all it costs the girls incidentally).

Casa de modelos is a rip-off joint that is best avoided.

Forest, I am sorry to hear about your bad experience. Did you make a complaint to the manager? I got a quote of 5,000 (from 1am until 10am) so I said "no" and left.

Gladiator, didn't you visit this place last August or September? I think you said the girl was too business-oriented.

Can you please tell me the girl's name so that I can avoid her? I went there two months ago and saw a very tall girl (average built) with big boobs and long hair. I forgot her name. But she looked very fine.....but 5,000 pesos is too much.

I found a girl at an internet cafe (she was browsing amigos.com) and I hooked up with her. I took her out to dinner and drinks at a bar. So spend the night with me. The food, drinks and cab cost me around 2,500 pesos. But at least she stayed until late afternoon. Better than paying 5,000 pesos. :)

NWO,

Yes, I was there last summer and had a similar esperience to that of Forest (but I didn't give her any taxi money), then I was warned by some SD regulars on another board that Casa de Modelos is really a rip-off joint.

Can't remember the ho's name, it doesn't matter anyway: don't pick up any ho in this place.

Thanks for the info.

Casa Modelo, Casa Teressa, The Mansion, etc. all gave me a quote of 5,000 pesos.

And its funny because whenever I stop by these places, there are only a few customers. The girls just sit on the sofa, chat, chew gum, etc.

Take care.

Does anyone know if Alan (an American and former owner of Cisne) will open up another place in the DR?

Alan ran Cisne very well. The girls were polite and the service was fantastic (no rush, GFE, multiple pops, great rates), etc.

Alan, if you read this message, open up another place buddy!!! :)

.........I met him (Alan) while he was running Club Alibi. Real nice guy! The problem down there (DR) is after you get shaken down by the military and the cops there's scarcely enough money leftover to pay the rent or the electric bill. :(

I hope he re-surfaces somewhere.

On a different front - I wish, when I return to SDQ I could have an honest, candid conversation with the owners of the casas of the city. I could explain to them that I hold a degree in economics and perhaps I could give them some advice to advance their business and increase their sales! :)

If you have dozens of attractive young ladies sitting on couches chewing gum with bored, disinterested looks on their faces and very few customers then, maybe..........YOU SHOULD CONSIDER LOWERING YOUR PRICES!!!

I mean come' on with the exchange rate hovering around 35 rdp to 1 usd - 5000 pesos is demasiado! (too damn much!)

Lower your "out-the-door" price to 4000 or 3500 or 3000 pesos and make it up on volume. This is the same "clueless" Dominican attitude about finance that results in guys like Alan being run out of business.

If you are a cop looking for a weekly "envelope" then consider accepting %10 now and %10 more every week - but don't ever "kill the golden goose"!

Keeping shaking a business down until it goes broke and has to close and then you get nothing! If you try explaining this to the powers that be in SDQ, good luck!

cheers......

In terms of looks, Casa Teressa is top notch. Find a girl name Patricia and you will know what I mean. :)

Btw,

I forgot the best part about those prices posted in the previous report. Those prices are valid if you go solo. I´ll explain.

I hired this cab driver named Juanito. He´s alittle guy maybe 5´1" and has to be 63-65 years old. So I tell him where I want to go and we´re off.

When we arrive at Casa Theresa he drives around the corner and parks two blocks away in front of a colmado. (grocery store) He parks and starts across the street. I get out of the car and ask "¿Juanito, donde vas?"

He tells me ¨"Mr Ford, I´m going into this grocery store and have a beer, take as long as you want and I´ll be sitting here on the stoop when you come out" "Casa Theresa is just up the block here on the left, you can see the guard sitting out front"

I asked, "But aren´t you going to come in with me"

"No senor Ford, I´m too old for all that stuff. The girls all touch you and its embarassing I´m not interested in that stuff anymore, but you have fun I´ll wait down the block"

So when I walked up to the gate and walked in nobody had a clue that even had a driver! I was there alone. The prices of 7500RDP for TLN is w/o a driver!

Tambien, don´t ever take girls for all-nighters. 3 hours is enough.

If you take a girl for toda la noche, in about 2 1/2 - 3 hours she´ll be bouncing around your room like a ping-pong ball. Next she´ll "squirrel away" in the hallway with her cell phone and have a conversation with someone she´ll claim is her mother.

She´ll return with big doughy, teary eyes and exclaim "Bad news mi amor, my daughter is sick. I need to go home right away!"

What are you going to say, No you can´t leave, I don´t care that your daughter is sick because I still want a "hummer" in the morning! :D O.K. leave, leave!

They´re mujeres de negocios (business women) after all. :)

Most of these girls were in the Amigos.com / Msn personals loop so I guess they didn´t have any more luck with those services than I did, because they´re all still in the country and all still working. ;)

I also picked up some new ones. (I stopped at a Nestles Ice Cream store off of Maximo Gomez and picked up the counter girl who was just getting off of work)

All and all an eventful night!

Here is the funniest part - My driver (Juanito) has a 1990 Honda Accord with 268,000 miles on it. The car has no working windshield wipers, and last night it rained most of the night here (kind of unusual for January). The rain was coming down so hard at times that Juanito had to look out the drivers side window to see where he was going! :)

Here´s the funny part - His car has no headlights, no taillights, only a faint interior light and no operational windshield wipers but every time we came to a red light and there was a cop standing on the corner, he would scramble and put on his seatbelt and motion for me to do the same.

So I asked, "Juanito, why is it so important to wear your seatbelt?"

"Well, Senor Ford, I don´t want to get a ticket" :D (ROFLMAO)

you gotta love this town.

I noticed that the difference between the bank exchange rates and the private agencies that are in the Zona Colonial area can be substantial. I was in the DR in December, and the banks were buying dollars at 32 and the private agencies were paying 38! Todays offical rate is 35.065. I would bet that if you look, you can get over 40 pesos per dollar.

Even at 25 pesos the sex is cheap (if you avoid the rip off casas). At 40, its probably the cheapest in the hemisphere.

This vacation has actually turned out pretty fruitful with ex´s and contacts hitting me round- the- clock. I´m still not very "juiced" with the quality down here but I´m having fun.

Last night I headed out to the Jaragua Casino. Got there around 10pm - right about the time the Licey baseball game was ended and in post-game highlights.

As I walked in there was a line of ´tween 10-12 women seated at the slot machines on the right. Its pretty obvious who´s working and who isn´t when the girls are seated at the slots but are facing the casino with the backs to the machines! :) This is one of there primary locations because it gives them a good view of the incoming players and of course they´re blocked from sitting directly at the bar due to a "one drink minimum". (and we all know that the only thing in those purses they carry are beauty supplies, a mirror, a brush and a cell number of a taxi driver available 24 hours) (lol) :D

I figuerd I´d screw with them, so I walked in said "Hola senioritas, aye que linda que linda!" and then I walked to the bar ordered a drink, and stayed transfixed at the television screen watching the baseball highlights.

This is when the parade started, one girl after another started their march slowly past me. I saw it all out of the corner of my eye but pretended to be totally engrossed in the T.V. I wish I had the whole thing on video it must have looked hysterical! :D

One girl would walk past me and stop as she approached me, smile and then she would contort her head in a wild motion from side to side to try to get my attention! Then that girl would continue to walk past (but of course she didn´t have anywhere to go) so she would turn around abruptly as if she was in some sort of military parade line and do an about face and walk back.

Then the next girl would start past me, slow down as she got closer and then she would start clearing her throat and contorting her head in the same manner as the first to try to get my attention and then she would continue on!

At one point they were passing me, and coughing and clearing and contorting three at a time! With all the coughing it struck me that the whole scene must have appeared like some sort of Tuberculosis awareness seminar had convened right in the middle of the casino. :D

All in all there were a few cuties, maybe a 7.5 here and there but mostly 5´s and 6´s. I didn´t choose anyone, but picking up here would be easy for anyone.

Casa de Coco.

Dilapidated little cement house that I have traveled to several times on my trips here. Its still in business and still offers some of the best prices in the Capital.

Now I honestly don´t think I could find it again if I had been dropping popcorn out of the window of my cab as we drove, but all taxistas worth anything will know where it is.

12 girls available Friday night mostly 6´s, 6.5 maybe a 7. Prices for tln can be negotiated down to as low as 2000RDP.

Took one of my ex´s from a trip in 2004 out the door for 2500RDP. Didn´t feel like haggeling.

(P.S. Here´s a tip - don´t ever go to the countries of Colombia or Venezuela. Very dangerous places! Of course I´m not talking about crime I´m talking about quality of women! Spend a few weeks in these two countries with imo the most beautiful women on the planet and you´ll never be satisfied in SDQ again)

Pretty good news!!! ;)

It sounds like the Jaragua Casino is still a nice place! :)

This casino serves free food between 10pm to 11pm. I usually eat dinner at around 6pm so by that time, I am hungry again. lol

If you can speak Spanish, then hit on the waitresses. Many of them will go out with you. The quality of the waitresses has improved during the past year.

One freelancer I highly recommend is a girl (I forgot her name) who has short hair (just before her shoulders), around 5'8" tall, and she usually plays Blackjack or sees people play Blackjack. She does not speak English. She is very slim and tall.

I had an all-nighter with her for 2,000. She does everything except anal.

If I find out her name, I will post it here.

Early last year I posted the merits of Sosua over Boca Chica. Looking back on that post, I feel that is was a bit misleading. Although, Sosua is STILL the better option over Boca Chica, flat out, hands down the...

South Coast is better than the North Coast!!!!

A planned 4-day excursion to the North Coast was cancelled for a 4-day trip down South. I put my "northern" traveling companions on a bus (Caribe Tours) to meet me down South for a new adventure.

Both are different and both have their own pluses and minuses, but South has many more pluses and fewer minuses. I have enjoyed my time on the North Coast, but if I only have 3-4 days to spend in the Dominican Republic, I’m returning to the South Coast.

Some of the readers may be skeptical and feel that I have flip-flopped on my earlier post. I still believe that Sosua is much better than Boca Chica; however, I feel that I tailored my post too much toward the inexperienced, newcomer.

There's much more to do in Santo Domingo, more women to see, and it's easier to get around on the South Coast (Boca Chica, Santo Domingo) than it is on the North Coast (Sosua, Puerto Plata, Santiago.) Yeah, if you're not the type of guy to travel more than a few miles away from your hotel room than definitely head Sosua, it's the best bet. Nevertheless, if you don't mind driving 40min. into the capital, then spend your weekend afternoons at beach in Boca Chica and your weekdays and nights in Santo Domingo.

Don't waste your time hanging out in Boca Chica if it's NOT a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Nevertheless, if it is a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, you MUST go to the beach!!! The other days and times, hang out in the capital (Santo Domingo.) Go to the Malls (Megacentro, Acropolis, Bella Vista...), go to the movies, go to the discos (the discos on Ave. Venezuela are a must), go to a ball game (yes, there are plenty of women here too!!!), go to El Conde (plenty of women here between 5-8pm), JUST GO!!!

Do you speak Spanish? If you do, then one place I like is the Jaragua Casino. Go at around 11pm. There will be a lot of girls (semi-pros and freelancers) that play the slots, Blackjack.

The Jaragua Casino serves free food between 10pm to 11pm.

The best quote I got was 2,000 for an all-nighter. If you speak Spanish, you can probably get a better deal.

Or you can also hit on the waitresses. They will be willing to hook up with you.

At the Casas, I got a quote of 5,000 for an all-nighter so I did not even bother.

During the day, go to internet cafes. Chances are, you will see a few girls browsing dating sites. Walk up to them and set up a date with them.

Make sure your hotel has a safe. Put all of your personal belongings in a safe such as your passport, credit cards, watch, etc.

If I remember anything else, I will let you know.

I just an absolutely incredible afternnon delight with a total stunner!!

I´ll give out the name and some photos when I get back to the states, so I can lock her up for the rest of my time here and keep her from the cazadores that are currently in town! (lol) ;)

Gorgeous face, gorgeous body, great personality and 20 young years on a small curvy frame! Awesome!

Last night unfortunately was more of the same - "cock-blocked" for lack of quality. Casa Modelos is a fairly economical choice with 3 hours out the door at 2500RDP. They don't currently have any rooms (onsite) available.

15 girls available for para llevar, alot of 6's, maybe a 7 here and there, alot with extra "junk in the trunk" Nothing interested me but then my standards are very high!

(Not that I have to tell any of you "seasoned" players this but) Avoid Remington Palace! Avoid, avoid, avoid! I can't belive it, but as I recall I actually posted some positive things about this place here on the board, two years back but its awful!

The first clue that this over-hyped dump is a mistake is the fact that there was not one (1) single customer in the place last night at 11:30 pm! Not one.

As you walk in, you are "bull - rushed" by literally 40 girls from every direction, mobbing you and grabbing at you. There is NO organization, no order to the place at all. "Hola, mi amor" "¿Como estas? mi amor" "¿Donde naciste? ¿Donde naciste?" Hands grabbing,....fingers poking,....its total sensory overload!!

I was so royaly turned off in such a short period of time that I literally ran from the place to the open mouthed laughs of my driver!

About 45 girls available last night, but no order , no quality, no thank you.

cheers...........

If you speak good enough Spanish for a basic level conversation, then you can negotiate a better deal at the Casas.

If you go to Casa Teressa (which I think has the best-looking girls), then ask how much for an all-nighter. If the manager and girls says 5,000, then tell them that you know a Chino (me :) ) who got an all-nighter for 3,000.

Or go to the internet cafes and restaurants or clubs and hit on the non-pros. I cannot hit on the non-pros because I do not know Spanish. But your chances are much much better.

If I were you, I would hit on the waitresses at the Jaragua Casino. These girls have great bodies and they will give you great sex. :)

Casa Theresa sure doesn`t have the best looking girls anymore! Last night a whole bunch of rough looking putas who have been around the block too many times! 16 girls available none of them could have paid ME 3000 rdp for an all-nighter! (lol) :)

The problem with SDQ is that, as I`m sure you true master mongers know is that if your out of the city for more than a few weeks there is an entire turn over and most of your info is out of date.

Hit and run, hit and run, hit and run, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat!

Casa Azul aka Casa Poblito has a beautiful 20 year old morena named Patricia. Short with natural perky b-cups, long brownish/red hair wavy down her back, gorgeous face and perfect little smile. She`s available mostly in the day.

All and all this was a happy return to SDQ for me my 4th time here and my 8th time in the DR. I think the quality is probably pretty consistent with what I found on my other trips but as I said in a past post - my standards have changed dramatically with my frequent trips to South America.

DR girls are sexy in other ways but as I`ve said time and time again on this board - If you are a monger from the east coast of the States, (Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta) and all you do is keep hitting the super saver fare button on AA.com and keep traveling from JFK to SDQ over and over again than YOU ARE MISSING ONE HELL OF ALOT IN THIS HEMISPHERE MY FREINDS! Ford,
Your analysis is right...especially since direct flights between NYC and DR on AA are farther and fewer between (unless I am a total expedia.com retard). I am a native New Yorker, and think invading the DR every 2-4 months is great for one's psyche and all that....but I tell you...one trip to Brazil is worth about 3 trips to DR...hands down. And based on how much DR flights are costing (around 500+ as of late on AA.com)....the extra 400 is worth it to see Brazil man...and with frequent flier miles...2 trips to Rio earns you a free trip to DR if you wanna get analytical about the a$$ =P

That said...for ease of sleaze...DR is much much much better than a sharp stick in the eye!

Monger on fellas!

Hello all,

I answered some of the pm's I recieved since I got home. Nine (9) in all, I'll get to the rest.

I'm sorry if I might have a few too many Presidentes from time to time and start ranting about quality. I also know that SDQ is a very favorite place to many of the board members here. Some of you are native born Dominicans others are long, long term SDQ travelers and you get personally offended when I say that Santo Domingo can't compare to S. America. I'm sorry.

I really love SDQ and I think Dominicanas are sexy, passionate women but all and all life is a series of choices and decisions and I honestly believe my passion may lie in the Southern hemisphere.

Board member "Fantasy", is a guy who doesn't post as much (in my opinion) as he should, but he's absolutely been friggin' everywhere! He is perhaps, more than anyone the person who is responsible for pushing me towards quality over quantity. He is a w/o question a man who has an eye for beautiful women!

I have absolutely no doubt that we will scope out a few more stunners before our time is done! ;)

I've been a member lurning int he background because I haven't had time and money to do much to report on.

I've set up a trip for the last two weekends in february. Who will be in the capital for those weeks? During the weekends will be heading to La Vega to have fun during the Carnival. Women are drunk and friendly during those weekends so the only expense will be R&R.... Rum and Room.

I've already made arrangements with my brother to use his chevy Tahoe and have a couple of girls who I am friends with who will hook me up with firneds of theirs but they are college students or work during the day so some nights during the week might have to monger a little.

Anybody know what the prices at the houses are going recently? Or have any independants they could put me in contact with?

My spanish is better than my english, and I lived in the DR for a few years when I was younger 4-8th grade, and still have relatives downt there but not the sort you could ask this kind of questions to.

Hope to hear from you guys soon, and maye I'll be able to post a nice report in march when I get back.

Anyone here looking for a guide would probably not consider one that has proven themselves ignorant. Jackson might continue to let you spam this board with your "two-Bit" guide service, but your own posts will seal your fate. A 100% retraction of your last one might allow you to grasp the Toilet seat before you are completly sucked in.
Anyone else agree?Well, I must admit, the words "spam" and "free advertising" did cross my mind. Unless, of course, Mister P does this out of his general love of humanity and accepts no compensation for his services. Anybody care to calculate the odds of that?

Free information is only worth the paper it is written on, which is to say nothing. All of the info/advice given on this board is free. If it is worth nothing, then there is no reason for the board to exist. By reading through past posts and noting the names that kept popping up for preferred hotels, bars, clubs, etc., I was able to plan several successful trips to the DR without the need for any sort of guide service. I believe the same would be true for almost anywhere. That is the strength and value of this board. Guys who have been there/done that pass information and advice back to the guys who are interested in going, and they don't charge a dime for it. Where else can you find a bargain like that these days?

I returned home from my vacation on Saturday, January 28th. I was in Santo Domingo for 11 days and I stayed at the Inercontinental Hotel, and the Hotel Hispaniola on Ave Abraham Lincoln.

The day after I returned I received an alert from Citibanks high-risk early warning system that I should review my account for possible fraudulent charges.

This is what I saw, $400 -Best Buy in Yonkers, $76 Metro card Manhattan, $350 Duane Reade Washington Heights, $85 Chineese Buffet Washington Heights, another charge from Duane Read for $105 Washington Heights.

Some of these charges were accumulated while I was still out of the country!

(Btw, I don't live any where near and have never been to these stores or restaurants. )

To Ford,
The credit card was used in Washington Heights territory. If you do not know it is predominantly Dominican. I try only using my credit card to withdraw money from the ATM, and occassionally for a hotel. Anything else I am careful about. Just be careful Ford.

Where did you use your card in DR?

Like others have said. I would only use the credit card to take money out or to rent a car or hotel. And would keep track of which one i used with which one.

Then again, if someone had ripped off my credit card. I'd be calling my uncle in DR to have the police down there look into it. Luckily he's a 2 star.

I would never use a credit card In the DR I do not care if it is insured or not!!I am assuming the quotation marks are in reference to my post. If you would have read my post more carefully you would noticed "I generally use cash" and suggested if you are going to take a credit card to the DR call the company first. Many people need to take and use a credit card while there. Try renting a car (very common for people who frequent Boca Chica) without one. but you're obviously much wiser and more experienced than I so I will defer to expertise in this area.

The way i see it your car was "skimed" (ran in a portable card reader) while checking in or out. Then the tracks were emailed back to NYC (nice operation, that makes it hard to track) and then the tracks were "written" in another card while changing just the name. Also they could have made a fake card but that gets a little more expensive to do and takes more time, when done this way they use it only in big purchases like computers and big tv's.

I guess they used an old card, put your tracks in it and changed the name (very easy to do).

Your $$$ should be back by now in your account and a new card is on it's way. Next time make sure your card is swiped only once into a real swipper attached to the front desk computer and not into a skimmer.

Better luck next time, bud.

Yes , very good Papirriqui this is what I finally concluded must have happened also. I think it just goes to show that this type of thing can happen to anyone and even at a place that you trust. I've been to the Hotel Hispaniola two times before and everything went smooth.

This was my 22nd trip to Latin America and the first time that I got scammed or lost money or anything so I guess I was overdue!

To Boriman - I know the "Heights" very well, my point was I just don't shop there. Back when I was in college I used to pick up rice and beans at the Caridad Restaurant in the Bronx (the one on Broadway) late nights after boozing up at a bar off of 230th St. :)

There is a very good chance I will be in the DR the last two weekends in february and I am also planning on heading to Carnaval. La vega, Bonao, Maybe constanza and maybe even Monte Christi. PM me for my DR cell number etc. I know santo domingo really well and would be glad to help you with any questions etc.

The Melia Sol is notoriously NOT guest friendly, I wouldn't chance it. The Jaragua and the Hotel Santo Domingo fall in the same category.

Opt instead for the Intercontinental, The Hotel Napolitano or the Hotel Naco on Ave Tiradentes.

Was 14 days in DR. had a nice time. will write more under San Ppedro Macoris. but if you are in SD, carefull in the parque Enriquillo. Always freelancers there. but this time, a girl took me to a cheap love-house. gave her 600 p and she stars sucking, but she did not leave her jeans... Was very unquiet and moving arond. Then suddently, she tells me, to look for a preservative. She went out of the room, then i found out, why she was unruly, she grabbed my wallet, which was in my jeans on the floor and took all the money.

So once mor, never give the money before, never let the girl go out before you have checked your wallet. But y was hot, and the head was not working.

Must say, other years, found very young and nice chicks there.

When I was mongering in DR, Lapsus was my favorite spot. There were usually at least 1 or 2 really hot chicas there. It is the complete opposite of Remington. It is a strip club, with a sizeable stage/dancefloor where all the chicas dance, so you can see what you are going to get beforehand. The bouncers will seat you and get a drink for you. The chicas will check you out, and the ones who are interested in you will walk by your table frequently, sit beside you, and chat you up. But they are not nearly as aggressive as at the Remington. I often said that I was looking first and would choose later. All of them respected that and chilled out. My best experiences ever in DR were with chicas from Lapsus. I don't think there are any onsite rooms in Lapsus.

That said, there is/was a negative about Lapsus, a BIG negative for me. The bouncers were WAY too aggressive. They always jumped on me as soon as I walked in. They got in my way and pointed me to some seat. When I said no and tried to go where I wanted, they would get in my way again and offer another seat. When I finally got to where I wanted to sit, they asked for a tip and what I wanted to drink. When they cam eback with the drink, they wanted to get a girk for me. They would interrogate me as to what I liked. It was like pulling teeth to get them to leave me alone to appreciate the pussy!

Then when I found a chica, negotiated good terms, and was ready to leave, it was "Gimme money! Gimme money! Gimme money!" I don't trust guys like that so I would insist on paying the cashier myself. When I did that, the bouncers would be all up beside me trying to grab my money as I passed it to the cashier through the window. Then they would demand, this time, a tip again! It made me go look for other paces like Tabu, Remington, etc.

Eventually, as the DR economy tanked, and attitudes worsened, I went to Costa Rica to monger. There are plenty of Dominicanas in San Jose, just now it is without the problems of DR.

I was in Lapsus about three weeks ago. I pretty much agree with everything Geoge90 says - he's pretty much on target. The place is owned by a tall skinny chain-smoking Italian guy who is real standoffish and not real pleasant.

Its ostensibly a sc but nobody ever strips - the girls sit around on couches waiting to be approached. The girls don't mob you but as George90 said the "coolers" are all over you ushering you to seats and pushing drinks on you.

The quality is not all that great 5's and 6's mostly - most with some extra "junk in the trunk" The girls can't really negotiate with you, the bouncers don't like to haggle and as I said the owner is pretty unapproachable.

It is located on Avenida Independencia No 503 and is tel# is 687-4866.

Ford,

So the place hasn't changed a whole lot, huh?

I have talked with the owner about his club. He says he makes good money, but that was 3-4 years ago. I found him to be decent with me. Ovre the years, mid 90's to early 00's, he got to recognize me and would sometimes nod to me when I entered. When the bouncers went over the top about something, I could appeal to him and he would get them off my back.

When I was going, the chicas did strip, and stripped very well. Somebody posted that the owner's girlfriend was a trained dancer, and she taught the chicas some dance moves and choregraphed their routines. Some strip routines had 3 or 4 chicas at once and that was when the training and choreography showed, because they never got in each other's way or were off the beat. If the chicas are not dancing anymore, that is a real shame. The dancing/stripping at Lapsus was what put it a notch above the other clubs, IMHO.

I like a "junky trunk" so they might not be 5's or 6's to me physically. Attitude is another story. As for negotiating, I was able to do that almost all the time. There was a fixed salida fee for the owner, and the rest I could, and would, negociate with the chica. I paid her directly at my hotel. This worked because of the frequency with which I had been going there. The owner knew me by sight as did some of the chicas, if they stayed working there long enough. The chicas all told me that they did not like working at Lapsus because the owner treated them badly, so I think there was a high rate of turnover.

Japan, I enjoy answering questions from newbies. I gives me alot of satisfaction to have a board member "pm" me 6 months later and tell me how much "Ive helped him with his trip" or "helped him have fun" - I even helped a couple guys meet their wives. (I'm not all that sure that was a good thing ;))

I got to tell you, trying to meet a true gfe in the capital on only a three day trip, with very limited Spanish - now that's a helluva tall order!

I was there last month and found alot of professionals, not exactly overwhleming quailty and that was with near fluent Spanish!

I'm quite certain things wouldn't have been better if all I could say was
"hi" "pants off" "room" "price" "go" "now" "like" "good" "happy" :D

In the future, if possible take a shot at the sleepy beach towns of Sanchez, Samana or the north coast towns of Rio San Juan or Cabarete or the often discussed town of Sosua. I think you chances of finding a true gfe for a night or a week or more is much, much better there.

Usted necesita practicar su español, también. ;)

What’s the current rate in Lapsus for TLN? I was there in July and it was, if I remember correctly, 2,500 p for the house and that included the girl fee too – whether or not you wanted to give something else to the girl as a tip was really up to you.

2,500 p for TLN look steep, but this is SD…

I agree that the level of quality there wasn’t outstanding, though I picked up a short girl that was fine and had a great attitude. She said she was happy working there, at least in Lapsus they aren’t kept like slaves 24/7 as in Remington and they can go home every night if they haven’t been picked up, they also had 1 day off per week, instead of 1 day off every few weeks like in Remington.

Gladiator,

Since you mentioned it (Remington Palace) I figured I'd add my 2 cents. This place is absolutely, positively awful!! What a complete and utter dump!
I was there a few weeks ago and as I mentioned in my post I was the ONLY customer, and I think it was a Saturday night at around 11pm!

As soon as you walk thru the front door and enter the place you get completely mobbed in every direction by literally dozens of the most grungy collection of street skanks that have ever been piled into one club!

Girls are grabbing at you, fondling you, poking you, pulling at you - sheesh!
I can't belive that anybody, I mean anybody could possibly enjoy this. Newbie, experienced guy, rich guy , poor guy any guy!

Also, they must think that since they loose so much in quality they will make it up in quantity because they sure have one hell of alot of girls trying to earn a living there. At least 50-60.

When you get in a cab in SDQ, every driver will mention Remington Palace first but if you show you have some experience you should pass.

One night I was driving around and I asked my driver to stop over at Remington's just so I could look around.

He looked over at me and said "Mr Ford, that place might be o.k. for some tourists but not for you!" ;)

So I ended up going there. Was not impressed, sat there for about 20 mintues enjoying a cerveza and couldn't find anyone to take home. Last time I went to remington, I settled, and I did not want to do that this time. I saw a girl start to dance on the dance floor, not at the pole, just where everyone else stands around, she was dancing. So I thought to myself she would be fun. I called her over, her name is Alba. We sat for a little, she spoke very little english, and she was getting disapointed when I would look at other girls. I settled up, 2500 for the girl, 450 for 3 presidentes, and off to the cab we went. Again, she got disapointed I wasnt all over her in the cab, and once I was she was happy. When we got to the hotel room, and I saw her in some light, I realized she is basically a 8/4. 8 in the club, 4 at the hotel. She showered and then came to bed. She started to cry and pointed at my dick and said sorry, I forgot to tell you in club, I no like kissy there. I knew then this was not going to be fun. So I put on the condom, started to fuck her, which was pretty bad, I turned her over and started ramming her hard doggy style so that at least I can enjoy myself a little. I finished all over her back, she went to wash up, and asked me to give her cab money. I'm a sucker, so I gave her 200 pesos, which she said is not enough, shes not going back to the club shes going home which is an hour away. I told her fuck off, next time lick my balls a little and you'll get more pesos.

So stay away from Alba.

Hey everyone,

I am a big fan of this site. You guys deliver great information about these different countries. I need to know what are the best cities in the DR to travel to. I will be heading to the DR in early June with a buddy of mine. We are young guys looking to enjoy some sun and meet plenty of fine chicas.

Thanx in advance.

Do you speak Spanish? As I've said on this board many times despite the fact that the Dominican Republic is ostensibly an international tourist destination the level of English ability among the people there may be (on a % basis) the lowest I've seen anywhere in Latin America. This is clearly the result of a pathetic, dilapidated education sysytem.

If you speak little or no Spanish you are going to have a great deal of trouble moving around big cities like Santo Domingo w/o difficulty. Taxistas will be a problem - you'll get in cabs and not be able to explain where you want to go, and you aren't going to be entirely sure where they're taking you until you arrive.

Too, after the first couple of levels of management at whichever hotel you choose you're not going to be able to get a single English sentence out of anyone. The GM will speak English and so will his immediate assistants but after that you'll be on your own again. Staff, cooks, bellmen, maids all in Spanish.

Last month I tried to sign up for a Texas hold-em tournament at the Hotel Hispaniola and found that the two girls at the check in table could only explain the "buy-in" policy and tournament rules in Spanish.

Its gotten so I don't even bother with English anymore, I go straight to Spanish.

W/O at least %60 Spansih ability you should probably stick to town like Sosua and Cabarete. The locals don't speak English any better up there, but since POP is pretty much only a tourist area there are usually a large number of agreeable American tourists and "players" around who can give you a hand.

También, usted necesita practicar su español. ;)

cheers............

CheersGracias para tu respuesta senor ford. :) I know enough spanish to get by. I am not fluent but my reading and writing skills in spanish are ok. I just wanted to know because it seemed like the big city in DR would be great for two recent college grads looking to have some fun. I might consider going to SD and sosua and caberete. Hopefully wherever we go we will find lots of "culo grande".

About 2 weeks ago a buddy and I made our first 3 day trip to Santo Domingo. Lucky for us he had a friend that owns a business there and really knows the city. He picked us up at the airport and brought us to the Hotel Delta for our first 2 nights. This is a girl friendly hotel and he got us a $80 rate. I went upstairs to clean up and when I came down to the bar he had 4 young and very pretty girls that all spoke fair English, waiting to have drinks with us. After a few drinks I took my first pick upstairs for a pre-dinner session. I was very pleasantly surprised. I believe the girls were all simi-pros and this one provided a true GFE with DFK, a BBBJ, and very enthusiastic CS. 1 hour and 2 pops later we all met back at the bar. From there we all went out to dinner for a great meal and more then our share of cocktails and laughs. After dinner we decided to let the girls go and try our luck at a local night club. I gave my girl $2500 DR and she seemed very happy with that. There were tons of beautiful local girls at the club but I couldn't make much head way with my limited Spanish. They seemed very friendly but we just couldn't communicate. Still I went home that night drunk, but very satisfied.

The next day we went to the beach and that night was very much like the first. 3 new girls at the bar and another great hour before dinner. I gave this one $2000 DR and she seemed fine with it. Just the boys went to dinner and then to a casino. After a few hours of Craps I called it a night.

The next day my buddy and I were on our own and we decided to play golf. After about an hour cab ride we were at a very nice course. I could tell that we paid a non-local, $100 US rate, but I've payed more for lesser courses when on vacation before. After golf we went back to the city and checked into the Jaragua Hotel and Casino for our last night. We had dinner ther and hung out in the casino that night. There were plenty of girls to choose from. The quality wasn't as good as the first 2 nights (Nothing better then having someone with you that has conections and really knows a city) but it was still good. After gambling late into the night I took one of the casino girls upstairs. I heard they had a girl fee and there was security by the elevator but I just hustled right past him and up to the room. The girl commented that they sometimes get stopped but we got lucky. This one wanted $3500 DR but settled for $2500. She didn't let the bartering affect her service and this was another good session.

The whole trip was great and I didn't have one bad experience here. I'm stuck doing most of my mongering on US soil but I'll start taking the time to hit some of the great spots that I've been missing.

Be safe, Rider Jay

I agree 100%. You are right. So in that same area, anyone have any better recomendations than lapsus or remington? What about parada or modelos or something like that? I've heard of those 2 places.

Modelos is a complete rip-off IMO and in the opinion of some others that know much better than me the SD scene - I tried it once and it was enough: the typical rip-off experience with the typical runner, they even ripped me off with the drinks I had while choosing the girl, so that place is blacklisted for me.

I went once to Parada and made a deal with a girl directly arranging a date when she dinished her shift, if I remember right I paid ger 1,000 p for 1 hour, that way I avoided the bar fine. The girl was great, very good all the way through till the end, good looker and great attitude.

When I do arrive in DR, where is it better to stay? Should I sign up for an all-inclusive resort, or should I just get reservations at some of the local hotels in the DR? If anyone has any tips on what are the best hotels to stay in santo domingo, sosua, or cabarte, I would really appreciate it. I also promise to take lots of photos for you guys.

SDQ Ford Here! (lol) :)

When in the capital stay at the -
(guest friendly) Hotel Mercure, Hotel Napilatano, Hotel Duque de Wellington, Hotel El seniorial, Hotel La Casona Dorada, Hotel Palacio, Hotel Naco, Hotel Hispaniola (no fee in garden rooms) or Hilton ( w/fee), Intercontinental (w/fee).

DON'T Stay at the
(not guest friendly)
Hotel Melia Sol, Hotel Jaragua Marriott, Hotel Santo Domingo. (Lots of issues at these places w/ guests)

To answer your other question about all-in's. Anybody who has been a member of this board for more than 8 minutes will tell you NOT to stay at an all-inclusive. They give great packages, no doubt, you'll be able to eat like a pig and drink like a monkey but when you bring a girl back to the room you'll be out of luck.

Here you are walking into the lobby of your all-in resort with your arm around your little chica, and a "lump" in your pants and the front desk is not only going to stop you, but they're gonna' tell you that to bring your girl past the front desk she needs to have her hand stamped, a bracelet attached to her wrist and she needs to be signed up for the full meal plan! ;)

Full meal plan! "Are you kidding?" All you want is 1 hour between the sheets and they're going to be asking her what her seating preferences are for breakfast tomorrow!

All-in's are "all-out's" for hobbyists.

trust me on this one.

DR1 3/10/2006

Long power outages
The long power outages affecting Santo Domingo and the main provinces in the country contradict the official reports by the Superintendence of Electricity, which place the current deficit at 25%. Outages are lasting for more than 10 hours in some residential areas that do not present collection problems and should thus not have more than three-hour outages in one day. Piantini, Naco, Los Prados, Ozama, Alma Rosa and many other areas in Santo Domingo are complaining of the long power outages, averaging 8 to 10 hours in many instances.

................... ¡mucho apagónes! ¡mucho apagónes! All they need to have happen is loose all the power on the Malecon and tourism will really take a hit!:(

Hotel Hispaniola? Yes I was there a few weeks ago is that recent enough? ;)

Request a "garden room." Un cuarto del jardín. These are the ground floor rooms that run from the pool area down the length of the complex towards the east. There are quite a few, but they tend to fill up quickly.

By staying in one of these rooms you will be able to enter thru the lobby and walk unmolested past the front desk by telling them that you are going to buy the girl a drink at the restaurant bar. (It is open every night til 1am)
They never give you any grief. Also, sometimes they forget to lock the side pool entrance so you can also bring the girl in thru here. (But only to the garden rooms)

If you don't get one of the garden rooms then you're going to have to take the elevator to your room and this means you're going to have to deal with the rig-a-ma-roll of checking the girl in, likely being charged a guest fee and taking her upstairs. The hotel has 24 hr elevator operators so its impossible to get in w/o management knowing.

You can bring the girl in thru the casino entrance but the same thing goes - ultimately your going to have to get on the elevator. The elevators are antiques (like maybe built in the 1950's) so they have to be operated by an attendant. No floor buttons - but rather an antique lever and cage operation.

O.K. here´s the story of Day #1 in the capital. I arrive on my direct flight from the States and get to the front door of the Hilton at 1:00pm. They explain to me that I have to wait two hours before my room will be ready, becaue check in is at 3. They direct me over to the lobby bar and I sit down and have a Presidente Light.

After about 10 minutes of rapping with the chubby bar maid I get bored, and one thing goes through my mind - Patricia mi amor! (Hey afterall I´m a Senior Monger just because I haven´t officially checked in yet, that shouldn´t stop me from having fun!

I have the bellhop hold my big checked bag (the one with the clothes and shoes etc in it) and I grab my carry-on with my digital camera, my i-pod etc, jump in a cab and head to Casa Poblitos. "Hold my room, I´m on a mission!"

I arrive at Casa Poblitos, walk in and to my amazement not only is Patricia sitting there but two other girls that I had "soiled" on other past vacations!!
Holy Christ!

I took Patricia for an intense two hour session and she was (as usual) 9 -appearance, 10-attitude, 9-ability between the sheets!

On the way back to my hotel my driver Juan Ramon hit sick sick traffic! This all was made worse by the fact that they were filming some type of Brugal Rum commercial in the Colonial Zone so we kept getting re-directed and re-directed.

My driver came up with the brilliant idea that to possibly avoid the crazy 5:30pm traffic perhaps we should try to drive past the University. Many of the classes are getting out at this time but "I think it will be better"

EVERY RED BLOODED MAN SHOULD DRIVE PAST THE UNIVERSITY OF SANTO DOMINGO AS CLASSES GET OUT AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE HE DIES!!! Aye Dios Mio!

I have never in my friggin life seen such a collection of tanned stunning beautiful 18-22 year olds in my entire life! We weren´t doing any better weaving thru the traffic near the University either so I thought it might be time to stop and have a closer look...............

We are completely in grid lock traffic as we stop right along side of a bus stop with 14 (that´s right 14!!) gorgeous girls standing waiting for the gua gua. Here´s a visual
- beautiful faces, medium tan skin, full breasts, tight little low rise jeans, strappy sandals, tight cropped tops, bare exposed tummies, with clear sky-blue lens rap around sunglasses! All carrying school books. All around 20. :)

To the stunned amazement of my driver, I bolt from the cab and start chatting it up with them, "what classes are you taking in school?" "where do you live?" "Why am I not -right now- on top of you??" :)

Then the strangest thing happened. Can´t say I honestly have ever experienced anything like this before. I started to black out. (honest) Everything started going black and I started to get this intense heat sensation in my head. I leaned back and then fell back against the bus stop´s steel restaining post. Everything got real dark and hazy and I couldn´t get my bearings.

I can´t quite put my finger on what the problem was.......hmmm....
it could have been the fact that Patricia had pulled every body fluid , and 100mg of Vita V out of my body just 25 minutes before, it could have been the fact that the girls were all smoking hot, my driver was screaming at me to get back in the car or maybe it was the fact that its about 120 degrees down here in the shade-
like I said - hard to put my finger on it, but I started to black out....bad!

I made it back to my car and instructed my driver to get me right back to the hotel. "I thought you wanted to stop for a beer!?" "No beer señor, I need air conditioning before I drop dead!"

All and all not a bad first day. An amazing two hour session with a smoking hot 19 year old! I met and got numbers from a few 20 year old university students, and I had a minor stroke :D
All before I even officially checked into my hotel! Not bad!

cheers.............

Gentlemen,

I am planning to go to SDQ this weekend. It has been a while since I have enjoyed SDQ. Last visit was,

Casa Azul
Casa Teresa
Casa Modelos
Remington Palace
Lapsus
Tabu 1
Tabu 2

I have been reading the posts and only see a few things on these places. Normally I am late night owl. I have always had fun in these places. Are they still open and up to date? I also need some names of Day time ventures. I have seen Casa Poblitos posted but have not visited. I am bilingual and know the city well. I need info from an SDQ regular. I will be with my uncle who is 69 but raising hell every minute. Please assist. Flyjets

We need you alive to read your further adventures in SDQ and "beyond".

The decompression stop with Patricia made a lot of sense. But hitting on 14 univeristy school girls immediately after! Check the tables man, that is just not right. At least not without a "dive buddy"

Now if you go back today and close the deal with half of them - that will be OK.

I look forward to reading about Day 2,3, 4, ......

Keep up the good work

O.K. the stroke has past :D and I´m back in the game!

The Hilton Hotel is a hulking 20 floor building that is at the center of the Malecon. It occupies what is w/o a doubt the most impressive location in the city.

On one side of the hotel is the great Vesuvios restaurant, next to that is the Traitoria Vesuvios and on the other side is Tony Roma´s "famous for ribs".
Incredibly I ate at Tony Romas last night and not only did the food come out US standard good it came out US standard fast! From sitting down to paying the check 25 minutes which included two Presidente Lights.

This is got to be some sort of record for latin america! It is clear that they are trying to develop an attitude that caters to US travelers. Attached to the Hilton is the malecon center. Another hulking muti-multi store mega mall. It look like iot will be quite impressive when it is finished but right now all that is there is a mega-plaza movie theater a barber shop, a fine watch store and a bunch of Dominicans carrying around building supplies.

The chica watching is incredible though in just watching the girls that work there way up the escalator to the movie theaters! wow!

The Hilton itself is also quite impressive. Great casino, great restaurant, great breakfast buffet and to be honest I have a better view of the caribe Sea from my toilet while I´m taking a dump then i do from many of the other 5 star hotels I´ve stayed at in the past.

I don´t know what kind of price you can get on this place from Travelocity or one of those websites, but if you can get this place "comped" by your company or at a reduced price -"go for it" - you can do no better anywhere in the country. (and I´ve stayed just about everywhere in this country)

To two of my buddies on this board - tbird and Regulr Travlr - guys things on that other website I was using to meet chicas isn´t looking too good right now! ;)

It´s not that there is anything wrong with that site its just that I have WAY WAY too many ex´s in town right now! Its un -friggin´ believable but every girl in my little black SDQ book is in town due to samana santa (Easter).
I have 16 girls total, I´ve called 6 and they´re all in town and sitting around with nothing to do. (I think I´m gonna need more vita v!) (lol) :D

As mentioned on this board in the past I don´t think Samana Santa is a particulary great time to meet new girls becuase things really tend to die, but if you have a group of "regulars" it might be the best time! If they are working on other islands or other parts of the country they all seem to make their way back to the capital.

Tonight I´m doing the casino "walkaround". In January I couldn´t believe how good the Jaragua was - we´ll see if it pans out this time.

Picking up girls in a casino is very "un"-Ford like, in that it is easy, uncomplicated, doesn´t require a whole lot of skill and is very touristy. I prefer to work the angles, chat it up with regular girls etc.

However, every visitor to SDQ should consider spending a night doing the walk-around at the jaragua at least once while he´s here. I was amazed in january at the quality and I was amazed again last night.

The Jaragua Casino (the casino obviously attached to the Jaragua Marriott Hotel here on the malecon) is huge, w/o a doubt the largest in teh country and it seems like its packed with people 24-7.

As you enter, if you walk to your immediate right you will see several girls seated at the slot machines to the right. Its obvious that they are looking for company becuase for the most part they are seated with their backs against the machines and facing the room and incoming guests.

As you continue to the right up to the bar you will again see several girls working their way up and down the stairs to the bar and around the back of the bar near the cashiers window.

There aren´t going to be any girls seated at the bar because they require a 1 drink minimum to sit down and to be honest at $4.50 US for a beer - i was hesitant to sit down.

Last night I didn´t see anything that looked great in the usual spots so >I decided to do a walk around the casino. This is when it became really funny!

As any SDQ regular will tell you, many of the semi-pros that frequent the Jaragua are ony semi-pros because of the fact that they are degenerate gamblers. Girl after girl seated at the slot machines would be pressing the "spin" button with their right hand and grabbing at my pants with their left!

It was then that I spotted one tall, sexy looking very dark skinned morena, dressed in tight white pants and a sexy black top and strappy sandals.........

(We just had an apagones (power outage) the hotel is on generator)

.....This girl was a dark skinned stunner, easily an 8.5, and I was very interested! She smiled, grabbed for my arm and mouthed "Hola amor" as i walked past.

I stopped, played coy and turned away, but as I turned back - she had disappeared! What is she Batman? Where the hell did she go, she just vanished! As I turned around again she was back, then as I looked around the casino and back, again she was gone!

Suddenly it occurred to me what was happening. She would look at me smile, lick her lips, blow a kiss my way and then the dealer at the nearby roulette table would say "o.k. place your final bets!"

She would duck into the crowd of people, place a quick bet, wait for the outcome of the wheel spin and when she lost she´d duck her head back out, locate me with her eyes and start blowing me kisses again - degenerate gamblers! (lol) ;D

There is little doubt in my mind that if any of these girls spent any time with me in my room, the money I gave them would be lost about two hours later on a bad run of cards, or way to many 7´s at the craps table. :D

All and all abourt 15 women available last night in the casino - mostly 6´s and 7´s but a few 8´s and an 8.5 also here and there.

cheers,

This is a post that is alittle out of the ordinary for me, but I think its helpful.

One of the problems that "business" travelers are going to have in the capital, is that they are going to find themselves stuck either in their hotels or in the malecon area of the city and be compelled to eat their meals here as well.

Make no mistake about it the Jaragua, the Hilton, the Sol Melia, the Santo Domingo, the Intercontinental are the home for $5.50 Presidente beers, $9.50 cheeseburgers and $3.50 cups of coffee. (That's not a misprint a cup of coffee in the Jaragua costs $3.50 us either in the casino or at their little coffee and pastry counter)

There is an answer. Eat at Manolo's!

Manolo's is a cafeteria, panaderia located right next to the rear exit of the Marriott Jaragua Hotel. It is situated at #457 Ave Independencia and it offers great food at great prices.

They have traditional comida criolla, mofongo (mashed plantains w/ shredded pork and garlic) chivo guisado (goat stew) lambi (conch) pastelitos carne, pollo (turnovers stuffed with meat) chillo (red fish) as well as arroz de pollo and various sancocho (stews) as well as american fare - cheeseburgers, fries, ham and cheese sandwiches.

A cup of delicious Dominican coffee here goes for about 85 cents, a Presidente is around $1.60 and an entire meal incl tax can be had for about $8.00. :)

It is open 24 hours a day. All the taxi drivers know it, ask them to take you to Manolo's for food and save your $$ for the girls, the clubs and for your next trip! ;)

cheers,

To Circle - I just pm'd you, if you need more help let me know.

To Boricuaonline - I got your pm, thank you! Yes you are right I think I went alittle crazy on my first day and as David Lee Roth would say "Got alittle crazy from the heat!" You advice is well taken 25mg is plenty, I'm still a fairly young guy. Hilton casino is totally dead. They run some high stake Hold-em games there on Saturday nights but NOTHING for us ISG members - don't waste your time. The Jaragua has it all! The casino action is hot, surprisingly good quality and goes till 3am every night. It has the reputation for the "place" for the chicas to go to meet Americanos.

To "The Legend" Fantasy - I just emailed you my friend. I may not be the smartest guy in the world but I've been known to give good advice from time to time! :) Follow my email to you last night and I think you'll be in quality and value heaven!

cheers all,

We arrived early to Santo Domingo, went to a no girl friendly hotel, Melia Santo Domingo but at 70usd per night it was the best deal on the malecon. Excellent buffet , nice rooms. The no girl friendly costs us a lot because we were on “bellaco mode” all time, always looking for a girl. Each cabana trip costs on average 1,100.00 pesos per person , we were 2 persons ,that means 2,220.00 per trip or 63usd. Do the math, $70 + $18 tax plus $63 motel-round trip taxi =$151.00 daily , that includes only one trip per day. By the way "bellaco" means horny, the female word is "bellaca".

Taxi prices for the same distance, from Melia or Jaragua to cabanas varied from 180 to 500 pesos, exchange rate was 31.75 pesos per dollar at this time. We always paid 200 pesos, only once paid 300 but was a nice confortable taxi and I was with 2 girls and my cousin Eddie with one.

We went to “La Ceniza” or la Parada Bar, a five minute walk from El Melia for our firsts ice cold Presidentes. Three pretty girls with nice bodies were serving at the time we arrived, around noon. We chatted with the girls, had fun, drink three 22 oz. beers. The girls were so cute that I wonder if they also work on la Parada night club, a putero similar to Remington that is behind the bar. Anyway, we took some pictures ,say goodbye and walked back to the hotel on Independencia Ave. We walked a little more to Pasteur St., the one that cross on right side of V Centenario hotel. I saw a perfect 10 white blonde girl in front of a bus stop. I found that very intriguing. We walked a little more to find that there are three new puteros. Two of them are located were Elegant Center and Cisne were doing business, the other one is next to former Elegant Center. The blonde girls works on one of them. Guys were inviting us to enter but we keep walking. On the corner we saw 2 cute girls walking and they came to us. They are from one the puteros but gave us her phone numbers to see them by night without paying the “casa”a fee. We called the girls after a shower but they asked 2500 so we said goodbye.

We walked to a one of the casas, promoted on cards as the Green House, Sky High but the sign say another name that I do not remember. As we entered the girls aligned in front of the bar. A dozen very pretty girls they were all doable. We drank a small Presidente, chatted, choose a girl, asked for price. 3500 pesos they said. Ouch!!! Too much, more than a hundred dollars. Then they said 3000 to finally end on 2500. We agreed because the girls were really fine and beautiful and because we were very bellacos at this time. Paid the bar 180 pesos for 2 small Presidentes (ouch again). Then my first Cialis ever. I do not need the pills but they help you to lasts for a long time. A taxi and we ended on cabanas Tia Tania. All taxis took us to this same place during our stay. I wonder why.

Nicole is a pretty pettite white girl, long black hair, beautiful face small chest, rounded ass. Oral was with condom, very nice btw, a nice massage, kissing, varied sexual positions. I came doggie style, we chatted and drank a Presidente, then another session. I was very satisfied after 3.5 hours of sex. My cousin also with his girl. We went back to the casa, exchanged phone numbers.

The we walked to Adrian Tropical for dinner after 10 pm, very nice and recommended restaurant. Another walk to El Jaragua casino, chatted with some girls , had fun with her, met Lucrecia and some others. But we were just window shopping to find if there was anything nice for next night. There were over 30 girls some pretty, some uglies. I saw perfect 10 , a beautiful with blonde with natural full c tits. Very interesting girl, and very strange. After an hour we walked to the hotel parking and saw 2 girls with a man. The man let us chat with the girls and again a little chat and cell phone number exchange with Adrianne and Dariana. That ended our night, around 3 a.m.

This board is meant to help the average monger. All of us have different taste, but for the most part i think none of us prefer to dump a ton of cash on accomodations, and fine dining. Senor Ford's recomendations are aimed at mongers who want an edible meal (without getting sick), where it is close by and does not take all night to get served. Most mongers would rather spend the money on a "double" for the evening than on some of the tourist trap"s that Sunny is mentioning. But i truly believe that mongers on the board know who to follow. Maybe it is the 600+ posts. Don't mean to disagree, but folks who don't know what they are talking about should just read. Anyone who eats at Neptunos is sure to have Western Union saved in their favorites.

I consider Villar Hermanos a good place to eat with good prices an average of 3 to 7 dollars for an entire meal. From sandwiches to local cuisine, with an a/c area. They also have a bakery on premises. Not itebis or legal tax if you eat there. Is on Independencia and Pasteur corner, behind V Centenario and next to 3 puteros.

We went to a day trip to Santiago where we get some phone numbers from Santiago, Moca and nearby areas girls. We arrived to our hotel in Santo Domingo at 7:00 p.m. I was impressed of how girls on stores, on the street, every where we went were so friendly and always gave us her phone numbers. Some of them are going to be next travel contacts. Santiago girls are very pretty.

We went to eat and after dinning were undecided about what to do. We were near Remington Palace but I was thinking that calling Adrianne and Dariana as a better choice, so I called Dariana. Dariana, 21 is a pettite light tanned girl with b cups, long dark hair. Addriane, 22 is white, also dark haired with bigger breasts. She has worked on Passions in Santiago and Elegant Center on the capital and now works by herself but only a time or two per week. We agreed to met at Hilton hotel lobby around 11 p.m. We explored the Hilton lobby, it was dead, went upstairs to the casino, only gamblers, no action here.

The girls arrived and to Tia Tania motel again. My girl, Dariana began french kissing me just after the doors closed. We shared a new Presidente Light, tastes good, can recommend. We put some music and then she gave me a massage. She opened her bag and asked me? Have you ever received a thai massage? I said no and seconds later our bodies were covered with honey! She began rubbing her body over mine and saying nice things and it felt really good. After 20 minutes I was very hot, I proceed to lick her as much as I can, she gave me a bbbj. She put me a condom and then began to belly dance over me, very talented girl I have to say. We fucked woman on top, missionary and I ended doggie style.

We took a shower, another beer, a little chat. A little chat usually is a conversation about her childs, now they show you their babies pics, about relatives that have risked their lives to look for a better life in Puerto Rico and every imaginable sad story. I always change the conversation to other themes like sports, past times and less sad stories.

I still was under the 36 hour Cialis influence. We began again with the foreplay, then she put some music and make some stripping. Her pussy ended on my mouth and her mouth, you know. We fucked again with more intensity than the fists time. I shot my load over her breasts. We ended our 4 hour session at 3 30 a.m. I have to admit that being with Dariana was one of the most intense and satisfactory sexual experiences on my life.

Eddie also had a very good time with Adrianne. He come in her mouth once, she bbbj him , a nice GFE. We were hungry so we went to D’ Luis Parrillada for some good and unexpensive sandwiches and off course, more Presidente Light. We paid the girls 1500 and the meal that was on average 250 pesos with fries and beers. Went to sleep at 6 am with a smile on my face.

Planning my first trip to the DR in mid May - Should I exchange money right at the airport to pay taxi or do the taxi drivers accept US Dollars?

Also, I will probably stay at the Intercontinental or Hilton. Per my research here they are both girl friendly. Let me know if you disagree please. Are there ATMs right at the hotels where I could exchange money or does the hotel itself offer money exchange? Good rates?

Any action to be picked up right at those hotels or do I need to go out for take-out always?

Thanks bros!!!

Hi Bad Bad,

The Intercontinental and the Hilton ARE girl friendly, no issues. The Hilton is directly connected to the new "mega-mall" called the Malecon Center. There are two banks and atms already open inside. One ATM is literally 100 feet from the Hilton's entrance.

The Hotels both (I was at the Intercontinetal in February) will exchange pesos for dollars but not the other way around, and they both offer sub-par rates.

The cabbies will take you from the airport to any hotel for dollars but DON'T DO IT! Exchange your money first! This is because the cab drivers have about 2nd grade math skills - for example if the exchange rate is 32 to 1 they will quote you a price of 900 pesos ($28) to take you to the malecon/Ave Independencia are, but if you tell them "I'm sorry I don't have pesos how much would that be in dollars" They say "well lets say then $40."

Here's the play, at the Las Americas Airport you first go thru customs and then pick up your checked luggage. After that you will be ushered thru a line of locals and then to the airport exit. Here you will be mobbed by cabbies shouting prices and "tugging" at you. Keep walking to the right, make another right and walk right back thru the entrance and back into the airport. If you take the escalator up to the 2nd floor and make your first immediate right there is an exchange bank there. They give the standard rates and all they need is to see your passport.

Depending on your language skills, there is a cell phone store just before and right next to the bank. They exchange pesos for dollars also (at black market rates) but they kind of do it on the slide. I went in there two weeks ago and spoke with the guy at the front desk (of the cell phone store) showed him a wad of dollars and asked him "what's the price?" He exchanged $200 at 36 to 1.

The bank was paying 31.25 to 1. That little scam got me an extra 1000rdp and a free cab ride to my hotel! :)

cheers,

Bad Bad,

I missed the last part of your post. No very little to NO action directly at the Hotel. I scoured that Hilton casino every night and not even a wink from anyone.

Now the casino at the Jaragua is an ENTIRELY different story! 7 nights a week, from 8pm to 3am, between 15-20 girls trolling the slot machine area looking for someone like YOU! :)

They aren't hard to find, don't worry - one night a girl at the Jaragua stepped out in front of me while I was doing the "walkaround". She grabbed my arm and said (in English) " hello cutie, do you like me? I like you!"

I'd call that pretty direct.............:D

Try not to use the ATM's, they pay around 10% less than official exchange rate and most banks also charge a commision for money exchange on atm's.

I agree. The ATM's give a fair rate of exchange and do not deduct 10%. Usually your home bank fees are the problem.

Then it is my bank. I retired 4000 pesos from an atm and my account was deducted by $147.05, so I received 27.5 pesos for each dollar, the official exchange that day was 31 pesos per dollar.

Thanks for the info. It was a Banco Popular ATM the one I used.

No it's not your U. S. Bank the U. S. Regulates fees it charges it's customers. Most DR banks charge at least 10% stay away from Banco Popular who is the strongest bank in the country better bet is BHD and the actual best bank conversion raio is Bank Reservas. BHD limits $300 usd per day bank resevas is $750 and gives the best rates. Good Luck.

Hi guys,

I'm in Merida, Venezuela at the moment, but I want to give my report for SDQ before I forget too much. As I have been into 4 countries so far on this trip, I will make this a general comparison between what I have experienced so far. So in the order of my favorites, here I go.

1) Dominican Repubic: I list the dominican republic first, for the main reason that santo domingo has the highest ratio of hot women to non hot women that I've seen yet. There are a few con artists and thieves, but overall it is safe and the people seem really happy and helpful (most of the time). It is a little more expensive than the other places I've been, but it has the best quality. It has several beaches to choose from, where you can have your beach, and eat your chica too (unlike playa jaco in costa rica, where they are even more expensive than in the capitol). Even in playa bavaro, where there are mostly tourists, at least there are hot european girls walking around topless. And I love watching them while sipping a fresh pina colada! In santo domingo, I even found a hotel la danae (on calle la danae #18, 238-5609) that was 5-10 minute walk from casinos jaragua and intercontinental (on the malecon) and cost only 900 pesos ($30). So that should be in anybody's budget. There was even a lot of action on the nearby street (independencia) for several blocks that I walked in either direction from where it intersects with pasteur. There was also a club on pasteur, 5 minutes from intercontinental called "the gin house" or "the girl house" depending on which sign you read. I had a look inside, and there were about 20 girls, several very attractive, and a couple I wanted to bring home to the US. I was quoted a price of 2000 pesos ($65) for all night, but I was too tired for take out.

So there are several places in the city to peacefully pick and choose a girl for a decent price (unlike in costa rica, where you have either cheap girls at lower quality and less selection, or higher quality expensive girls that think they are worth your entire bank account). Aside from all that, when I was coming into the country, I met some people from channel 5 on the airplane and they gave me a ride into the city on their bus for free. Then I met the daughter of a baseball player who drove me all over the city and showed me the malls and places to go out. She even payed for my entrance into some tourist sites (cause she has lots of money, unlike me). She also told me that the girls there want a green card to the US so bad that they will love you to death, or at least til the card comes. Thats fine with me, cause I don't want to buy, I just want the lease, anyway. So DR is in first place (so far).

2) Venezuela: I list venezuela as second, because it is quite cheap and the girls here are going to take Ms. Universe. Granted, I didn't spend too much time in caracas, but in Merida, which is a university city, there are not as many hot girls as in santo domingo. However, when there is a pretty girl, she can be so much more beautiful than the other nationalities (in my opinion). There is just something about these dark haired girls with light skin that I love. Prices have risen quite a bit here in the last couple years, but mostly to keep up with the devaluation against other currencies. Overall, it is the cheapest country I've been too, (although the taxis at the airport are trying to get 120k or about $55 to caracas, I suggest taking the bus for $4) and overall, the people are genuinely the nicest (once out of caracas). People actually like to practice english with you (the few that can speak it) and invite you to hang out with them, without asking for anything. I even got a phone # from a really hot girl when I took the cable car up the mountain in merida. She was returning home that day, but told me to come to punto figo and she would teach me salsa dancing. So I think that being a gringo here is better than in the other countries I've been to so far. There are aspects here that are dangerous, but from what I hear, there isn't much reason to go to caracas anyway, and once out of that city, everything seems reasonably safe. The price of p4p has gone up in the "strip club, " but the price from the escort agencies which operate from a hotel are stiil very cheap. 40k bolivares (less than $20) for one hour or 60k (less than $30) for two. I have yet to try out the service, I'm hoping to later today. For more info, look out soon for my merida, venezuela report.

3) Cost Rica: costa rica comes in next cause it is cheap (I had a girl-friendly hotel for less than $20 5-10 minutes wakling from blue marlin, check my san jose reports). There is a strong p4p scene, and there are some low cost options available. I also met an incredible semi pro there who blew my mind, sexually. It was more like having a girlfriend on call. However, overall, most independant girls (in gringo gulch) think too highly of themselves and have a horrible attitude. I don't care how hot a girl is, if she has a bad attitude, she isn't worth 2 pesos. I'd rather have an average girl with a good attitude myself (but I'd really like to have a 10 with a wonderfull attitude! ) the main beach here that has p4p action is simply horrible in terms of price to quality ratio, worse than in san jose. So you can't hang out on the beach and have cheap chicas too. So overall, costa rica doesn't rate too high on the list for me.

4) Cuba: I'm sure that if you are fluent in spanish, and get out of havana central, you could have a good time with some semi pros. But if you don't speak spanish fluently, you are asking to be ripped off, everyday. Even if you are fluent, and you stay in central havana, you will still be conned. Go to havana for the history, not for mongering. After figuring out the exchange rate I was given (and I use a french bank with euros), cuba was possibly the most expensive place I've been (maybe 2nd, after DR). However the taxis are cheap, but considering people are making less than $15 a month, I think the price of traveling in that country is just stupid. And you can tell that all the money that is being made isn't going back to the people. And when somebody asks you for money, they don't ask for 25 or 50 cents like in the US. They ask to buy them milk which after the exchange rate is about $6 for a bag a powdered milk (obviously at the gringo store). That is about 50% of the monthly salary. Could you imagine a bum in the US asking for half a month of minimum wage? It's just ridiculous. Avoid cuba for mongering unless you have some secrets that I don't know about.

So that's all for now. I'm getting ready to head to colombia (I'm being either brave or stupid, cause I'm going by bus) so if you don't see any colombian reports from me in the next week or two, call my mom and tell her I've been kidnapped (ha, ha).

Also, please excuse typos or missing addresses and phone #s. I'm traveling and I don't carry that info with me at all times. If anybody wants any hotel info, or anything else, just send a pm.

Adios

Circle,

Thanks for sharing your experiences for the board, and enjoy the rest of your trip! :)

Generally, I agree with your opinions and assesments. Costa Rica isn't terribly expensive but is overrated and the girls are very professional. All true.

My comments - I'm glad you liked Santo Domingo and I agree with what you said, but SDQ is only one side of the country. You can't judge the DR based on only SDQ because the north coast (Sosua. Cabarete, Puerto Plata) has its own personality and its own fans. I personally know 5 guys who LOVE the DR but can't stand SDQ. The DR for them is the north coast.

Second - You needed to spend more time in Caracas. The capital is the "hub" for women in Venezuela. I walked around the Las Mercedes section of CCS and everyday my eyes almost had a heart attack!! The women in CCS are incredible! Try to budget at least 8 days here next time you travel.

cheers,

CrazySunny69,

Great observations! I would say your 1-5 list comparing CCS to SDQ is right on! No disagreements. I would add also, that your remarks about girls being more sophisticated also is a product of a considerably better education system in Venezuela.

You are one of the first people who I ever heard remark that the ob/gyn doctors in the DR are cannibals. You're right. I have met dozens of girls in the DR who have those brutal c-sect scars and when I make a remark about it, I'm always told "the doctor told me it was a very difficult birth"

If these doctors are to be believed than I guess around %50 of the births in the DR are difficult. ;)

cheers..................

Hey Ford,

I am in ccs now and have been here for 4 days. Very disfferent from the D.R.

Here are the differnces, on average
(
Please note this is my second trip)

1. Women are lighter skinned
2, Women are more sophisticated
3. Women take care of their bodies more
4. Women arent as friendly as Dominicana womens
a. Example you can't just walk up to the average pretty girl in Caracas and say you want to bang and be banging in an hour takes a lil more effort but very possible
5. Less *****s per capita

Here is my overall opinion,

If you would like a change of pace Cararacs is much cleaner and the cities services are much better as the [people are generally more educated and their is a larger upper class than in S.D.. Although I love Mullato women the women in Caracas are definately better looking per capita. The prostitution scene is a better than sdq they have 5 SOLID clubs Angelus 100 GIRLS Divas 40 GIRLS Morrisons 25 GIRLS , Magnifique 25 GIRLS and Saxons 25 GIRLS all about the same prices as Remington Casa Modelo, Casa Teresa Blue House JASSIES AND SUTRAS AND THE MANSION BUT THE QUALITY IS BETTER. tHE GIRSL HAVE NICE FLAT STOMACHS AND YOU WILL VIRTUALLY SEE NO GIRLS WITH RIPPED UP STOMACHS WORKING THE CLUBS AS YOU SEE ALL THE TIME IN THE DR FROM BAD c-sections. If you are looking for prostitues then CCS Kills SDQ but if you are looking for normal beautiful Latinasthat go to the local University, although the girls in Venezuela are pretier you can accomplish this goal much easier in the D.R.

btw Bogota colombia is the best place to monger in all of Latin America!

Crazisunny69,

Interesting post.

Can you please post the price structure in those Caracas clubs? Do they charge by the hour, TLN or what? I am curious about Caracas and would appreciate that info, post it in the Venezuela thread if you like, as that is where it belongs.

Thanks,

Hotels like the Marriott will refuse entry to such girls. You might read a few posts here first, as this is a very common question. There are hotels in the capital more comfortable with the business.

"I don't speak Spanish real well is this going to present a problem in Santo Domingo?" (ever read post #112 on this board?) Well, Ford, there is nothing wrong with newbies, we all were and everyone has to learn but I agree, wasting people's time being too lazy to even make an effort certainly doesn't stimulate me to offer much, if any, advice .

I also think that for people of even reasonable intelligence, say able to tie their shoes, eat without dribbling, read at say grade 7 or 8 level, that Spanish is rather easy to learn. Now this of course presupposes someone would try (like trying to search, trying to research , trying to learn , well it is very trying to see nobody bothers).

I have learned, that when you travel to a Latin American country they speak Spanish (except Brazil, they speak Portuguese but many also speak Spanish), QED, learn Spanish.

Especially from those who have the agonizingly repetitive posts about Joe Blow from Kokomo who wants to meet "normal girls" and "college students" despite a total inability to speak one conversational word to them. I think these requests can be translated into " I think these 3rd world girls are pushovers and I am too cheap to pay". Hey fellows they would expect to TALK to you on a date, whipping out your dictionary makes you look like a goober.

NO Id has NO chance with NO one and should get NO help with NO effort. No Id(ea): Read all the posts at least back to 2004 or so, write down the confusing stuff, repost asking for clarification. Major hotels, all-inclusive resorts, forget them ( and they cost too much), no language, skip "non-pros", locations: read the forums. Get off your ass in other words.

Spanish benefits, and knowing how the country works, and what the customs are: I have two regular GF's , three if I want (the third is a chore at times but so cute) , who want stuff but don't want sex for money, maybe costs me as much or more for dinner and clothes and entertainment, but they are relationships not cash transactions. The ironic part? The latest one speaks fluent English and I have to tell her to stick to Spanish so I don't bounce back and forth while I am in country.

GP,
Thanks for you reply, I feel better! On other boards (Managua) you were the the one who was critical of people who asked redundant questions and people who refused to RTFB (and of course you were right) but I decided to take the higher ground and be diplomatic.

This time I just lost it! Thanks for summarizing my discontent so articulately! :)

Well some Managua posts were literally asking about hotels when on the same page there was posts on the hotels ( or posts under Leon asking about Managua, etc.) . OK, maybe searching is a chore but looking 4 inches down, please.

I get a LOT of PM's asking the same things. I used to reply, now I delete them outright. Why reply to someone too lazy to try even a wee bit?

Here's a two minute video on Boca Chica's beach.

I think it will give you a feel for the place. Is the beach nice? Well, its real crowded especially on weekends and can be a big hassle with "touts" and street vendors.

Boca Chica is hit or miss with quality. For nightlife Santo Domingo is el Rey!! (the King!!) and one of my favorite places on earth! :)

Gentlemen,

Can the veterans / locals recommend a really good masseuse or massage place in Santo Domingo? Female of course but no sex necessary (if offered great but otherwise I'll get that elsewhere). I know the top hotels will offer it in their health clubs but at huge mark up and I would prefer a recommendation.

Thanks for your help

read the board, guarantee your question has probably been answered already by someone.

Hilton SDQ yes, but the resorts? If you're referring to the Hilton all-inclusives in Boca Chica, Juan Dolio and La Romana the answer would be no. You're paying a price that includes meals, drinks and entertainment so management would expect you to pay a fee for any guests you bring in.

CrazySunny69,

Perhaps prices for the chicas have increased during the last several months but I think that $3,000rd is way overpriced !! Hell, the average female clerical worker only makes about $10,500rd for an entire month. Perhaps the $3,000rd is their starting price but I was thinking that some "Haggling" was the way to do business ?? If $3,000rd is the set price then a pro should be able to make about $75,000rd per month ($2,300 us dollars). This shit does not sound right to me. I would encourage fellow mongers to submit reports of the current actual prices paid for pussy so that the NEWBIES are not ripped off. This was an excellent report, thanks for sharing!

Very informative report Crazysunny, I have been to some of the places mentioned and my experience was the following:

You can negotiate prices on almost every place except maybe Remington. I have said no to prices and have get up to 50% discount. Some of the places on your list have classified adds with prices a lot lower than they offer while you are there.

I was on SD last summer and last April and noticed a decline on prices, at least the prices offered to me.

Some of the casa girls can also be contacted outside their casas for a lower price, just talk to the girls, if they say no it is mostly because they dont like to do it, not because they can't. Even you can do it with Remington girls as I have done before.

If you are good looking and have money yes, there are a 95% probability you are going to have a good time, if you are ugly and have money, probalility to have a good time goes down to a 94%.

Hey Dave,

The prices that Sunny posted are pretty much right on. Casa de cita owners in SDQ evidently never took any classes on supply and demand economics.

Many nights I would walk into a casa (Casa Theresa comes to mind) on a real slow night like maybe a Tuesday and at 10:30pm there are about 20 girls sitting around with absolutely nothing to do, staring at the wall with not a customer in sight - just me.

So the price is rdp 3,000 I figure let me haggle alittle, afterall its a buyers market! :) I offer rdp 2,000 for tln. "No señor the price is 3,000"
"I realize that but its real slow and these girls want to earn, lets say rdp 2,000"

"No señor, rdp 3,000. The price is the price!"

So they watch me walk out the door.

Do what boricuaonline said and negotiate with the girls on off days or on down time or do what Sunny said and go after the non-pros. There are real gems in this city. Real gems! I always enjoyed my time in SDQ y pienso que es mi ciudad preferida también.

(Pero, estoy cerca de fluido en español.....and that doesn't hurt.) ;)

I expereinced the same thing in Punta Cana but I was sure that Santo Domingto would be different with the law of "supply" and "demand". I would assume that the pros do not understand "Economics 101" and perhaps they only need 1 customer per week to pay the expenses.

I have also experienced this illogic at clubs in SD. But I don't think it is limited to pro chicas, I have had small stores and shops refuse to haggle, bargain, or improvise a mutually favorable deal. The impression I have is that
the owners instruct the workers that the price is THE price, and threaten them with firing if they stray even ONE MILLIMETER from store policy.

Many of the clubs, such as Remington, have absentee owners. They need to be strict with the pricing so that they are not ripped off by the workers. So the chicas and the bouncers toe the line and watch us walk out the door without us spending any pesos. It is illogical from our point of view, but from the workers' point of view, they won't get fired when the club loses business due to our walking away, but they do get fired if they charge us a lower price than authorized, even if it brings in business.

Of course all quality comparisons are subjective but I've always found some 8's in casa Modelos (plus its real convenient to your hotel) and casa Theresa might be worth a look. Get a good driver who knows the entire city and you can hit all the major houses and see if there's anything that's to your liking.

Avoid Remington Palace! Aggressive, nasty street girls and also if you want quality you're not going to find it in Boca Chica. The quality on the south coast is in the capital. In fact after many trips to the south coast I am at a loss to say anything positive about Boca Chica. :( Overcrowded beach, annoying touts everywhere, rough looking girls and 2nd rate accomodations.

Whats going on there? My comments: Casa's are ok in any country. If your there for a short time and want easy access its ok.

SDQ has so many beautiful women. It rivals any city. Can you score these beauties. Dependes. Looks, dress, luck, game. If you do not live there or own a place there your less likely to meet these women.

The best girls are the street girls. "Street girls". any girl you meet just walking around day or night. You need to know if they are ok. Comes with experience and some luck.

Its a great place and will be for a long long time. Lean spanish, dress good and you will be happy there.

I like street girls, so im not a casa guy. The streets around the malecon are full of girls thur-sun.

Also the conde has lot of girls day or night.

Have fun

Hi Interdude,

I do. Go to the pool at the Hotel Hispaniola at the corner of Ave Abraham Lincoln and Ave Independencia. In the corner of their expansive pool area is a free standing little structure with a sign outside that reads "Clinica China" - it is a legitimate massage parlor, acupuncture center run by a male oriental acupuncturist and his three attractive chineese assistants. They perfrom legitimate massages, hot oil treatments, acupuncture. Place closes every night at 6pm sharp.

O.K. that's the "official" version of what goes on there. ;) A funny thing happens everynight at 7pm - the place re-opens! Except this time when it re-opens it is being staffed by 4 very cute Dominicana massage therapy students from the University! (seriously)

The little massage center is sub-let by a local Dominicano who figures that he can do some business by word-of-mouth. The girls are cute and they give real/actual massages. Afterwards, happy endings can be negotiated with the girls as well, but of course it has to be done on the q.t. "Supposedly" no one else is supposed to know. Give it a try, but visit in the evening unless you want a happy ending with a licensed chineese acupunturist. :D

cheers my friend..............

Superion,

I am not on a superiority horse. if you were to read my post one more time, I never said that black men cannot get pussy in the DR. I also made it very clear that I was making generalizations. I clearly stated that these thoughts also were based on my experiences only. Also, please note, I have had 3 african american friends of mine come with me on numerous trips to SDQ. We have experienced every social situation imaginable so my experiences arent made up.

You are correct their are places that have lighter skinned Dominicans such as Costanza, Bonai and La Vega but overall at least 80% or more of Domiicans have at least some African blood & roots.

Yes, being black can have it's advantages absolutely but overall, on average it is 100% clear Dominicans prefer lighter skinned men over darker skinned men period. That is not a generalization, but is true. Remember that is based on percentages and not in all cases. Obviously, there are many Dominican women that prefer darker men but on a percentage basis that is DEFINATELY not the case.

Furthermore, I stated in my post I didn't want this to be a racial issue. Growing up, I was always called (the n word lover,) so I think you should understand I am far from being a nasty racist or full of myself, and am very open minded and love all people regardless od race, color or creed.

Thats all, no disrespect man.

Thanks,

CrazySunny69

PS. Ford help me on tis one...lol

Of course there are Dom people that prefer white skin, but you still live in a fantasy world if you think that people want you solely based on the fact that you have white skin.

It's more so based upon status and white usually equates to having more wealth.

You still live in a fantasy world, if you think that you are "prefered" solely upon the basis of your skin color. If you were a BROKE white guy then you wouldn't get much more play than the black broke guy.

The only thing that is 100% "true" is the fact that you live in a fantasy world where you think that the Dom ladies like you soley based in your skin color instead of your alleged wealth. Being exotic looking surely doesn't hurt you. But to say that one needs to be "white" in order to be attractive to Dom. ladies is BULL.

it's only 100% clear in YOUR imagination that Dominican ladies prefer white men. There are many that do, but not all. You haven't taken any kind of legitimate consensus as to what Dom ladies prefer, so your theory of "percentages" is out of the window here, if not already irrelvant.

how can you tell what all Dom. prefer? Based upon what maybe a few hundred ladies at most have told you and your compatroits?

THEY TELL YOU WHAT THEY THINK YOU WANT TO HEAR. Get that through your head.

it's all about MONEY, POWER, AND STATUS here, not your straight blonde hair pal. Most tourist to DR are caucasians from the 1st world.

1st world = perceived MONEY and POWER.

I've had plenty of Dom. women tell me that they don't like white men etc. but I don't let that stuff go to my head like you obviously do.

By using your flawed logic, Dominican ladies would never screw local Dominican men because many of them are dark and unattractive. And you know that this isn't true!

Please think about what you're saying man. It makes no sense.

..and don't start with that "I have a black friend" stuff, you only make yourself look worse.

-peace

The only problem is that if you are not staying near the bus station you have to take a taxi to get there, but you can save at least $40 round trip. Taxi is the only choice by night.

The Non Pros

As per the women, the Non -Pros are 100% better than the pros. Dominican women are the easiest women in the Western Hemisphere to to talk with & score. They are so approachable, especially, for white Foreigners and they love white skin and straight hair. If you are good looking and white they will literally stare at you.

If you say hello 95% of the time they will say hello, which is a reallly nice thing. The best way is to meet women during the day although i am a night owl. Go to the supermarket, Plaza Lama, El Conde any fucking where during the day. Get a phone number and you are almost sure to have a good time with a young lady the same night. If you try to meet non- pros at night it is much more difficult because single women don't go out by themselves at night like they do in the U.S and Europe. Most females rely on the men to take them out and you will see very few single, girls out at night anywhere, unless they are pros. Dominicans generally look up to Americans and even if you are in your 30's, 40's 50' 60's or shit I have even seen beautiful 19 and 20 yr old girls with men in their 70's! Crazy shit that you never see in the states but the key is if you are white. I am not saying that if you are black you won't be able to scotre a nice Dominican girl but because Haiti is located next door and is so fucked up and impoverished, and their is a lot of prejudiced people in the D.R., due to lack of education, many Dominicans associate blackness as being more negative. Some fucked up shit, again I'm not saying this goes for all Dominicans. The craziest shit is 90% of all Dominicans are black themselves, so one may ask how the fuck can they be prejudiced? Who the fuck knows and some things you can't explain!

Enough of the race bullshit, in conclusion the non pros are the way to go n the DR.[/blue]This is total BS.

First the poster is apparently completely unaware that African Americans in the US span the entire spectrum of DR skin colors. A friend of mine tells a story about being introduced to 3 chicas along with his white buddy. He approaches one to start a conversation and she basically tells him to get lost. You know why? Not because he was black, but because she thought he was dominican. After she found out this was not the case she spent the next 1/2 hour trying to apologize.

Second the poster extrapolates his experience to apply to all other white guys. One of the reasons the poster had luck with non-pros can only be attributed to his skill with the language. Believe me if you can not hold a minimally decent conversation in Spanish do not even think about approaching a non-pro. If you got decent spanish level skills then you could be blue provided the target thought you had money you were willing to spend. With language skills and a demeanor that contains a bit of flair there's even the possibility of steeply discounted sex. I'm talking drinks and dinner here. As to being stared at, if you are attracting that kind of attention at home you will get it in the Republic no matter what your skin color is. If you do not, do not expect it.

Basically for the women 95% of the tourist have a shot at the overriding important point is whether or not you got money to spend. There are additional criteria depending on the woman, but that is the first hump that needs to be navigated. Yes, there is a color hierarchy in the country, but it tends to apply at the upper levels of society. Below that it’s all classicism. They love Americans regardless of color simply because they believe we are all rich and generous. In spite of that women have preferences. A domincana friend of mine would rather be seen with a black guy simply because she is not automatically thought of as a "puta" as she would be if she was with a white guy. Are there domincanas that won’t date a guy who has darker skin than hers? Yes there are. However, stating Dominican women in general don’t date black guys is flat out bad information.

None of this is either here or there if you don't let it influence your actions. My advice based on my experience is if you have basic Spanish skills go after anything you find attractive. One thing the poster had correct is that these are some of the most approachable women to be found. You will be utterly surprised at the quality of women (external) that will engage you in conversation if given the opportunity to do so. Are you going to have a 100% success rate? Hell no, but it will be ten times or more your success rate at home be you black, white, or something in between.

In my frequent and extensive trips thru the DR I have noticed that in large measure, the girls are colorblind- they don't see white or black they only see one color - green! ;)

The socioeconomic conditions and the substandard level of education in the country make many of the girls rely on the help and companionship of tourists as a viable and consistent source of income with which they can use to support themselves and their family.

If you want to meet a sexy Dominicana than much more important than the color of your skin is your ability to communicate competently in the Spanish language.

If you can understand and express yourself in the Spanish language then the girls in the DR (regardless of their skin tone or yours) will see you as a potential and viable BF or long term love interest. If you cannot then it makes little difference if you look like Brad Pitt or Denzel Washington - you will be nothing more than a quick "payday" and a one night stand.

cheers...........:)

I think you and I share this knowledge but you are flogging a dead horse 99% of the time, Ford. I know 15+ year guys to the DR who know at best, 100 words of Spanish. But they lust after the college girls too (without luck). Money is not everything in LatAm minus street girls and casas/MP's.

Cheers. :)Mr Ford. Well said. You summed it up. You would be a interesting person to meet in SDQ. SDQ has so many beautiful women. Good food, night life.

Color, age does not matter. Many of these girls are very intelligent. Many of these "beauties" are the main providers for their families. They build the homes, make the major decisions, provide for the family, extended family and the bario.

Like the old song "girls just want to have fun". DR girls love to have fun.

When they are happy and have fun they make you very very happy.

My response is - well said Sunny, and very well done!!

3) The education system is deplorable. It is likely the single biggest factor in determining why the DR continues to sink economically behind other countries in latin america on both a real and per capita basis.

5) The carne de res sucks! (true) But the mariscos frescos, makes up for this! ;)

12) Rajas (bars) are a way of life in many latin american countries - ever driven thru Costa Rica, Nicaragua? They aren't always indicative of a high crime area. Its a cultural thing, if everybody on the block except you has bars - where's a burglar going to go? Its kind of like keeping up with the Joneses.

All round excellent Sunny!

Yours is a report of distinction! :)

I love Dingo,

I went to SDQ for Tues and Weds night last week. I have not been there for a while. It was refreshing to return. My company puts us up in the Jaragua (Not girl friendly). However, we always grab a room at Hotel Villa Italia 1300 pesos $40 (AKA Hamilton) for slaying the ho's. We hit the regular places of ill repute. Casa Modelos, Casa Teresa, Casa Azul aka Rosada, Tabu, and Remington Palace.

Well, the peso has come around some, still not great but, it has come back to earth with the prices. Most of the places quote you at 3000 pesos and charge 150 pesos for beers. However, Remington Palace had prices of 2000 pesos for the evening. Walking into Remington we felt like terds being attacked by flies. It was something I have not seen for a while. Desperation on the grandest scale. It was a bit over whelming but, it was nice. There were about 25 girls in Remington, myself and a buddy. We pulled 2 girls from here and they stayed with us for the evening. Super carinoso and very GFE. I must report SDQ still lives and is worth a couple of days to visit with the girls who have migrated from the farm lands to sell their goods. The colonial zone was full of hot locals looking for some action, however, Spanish was required to pull them. We had some cocktails at Pate's Palo a 400 year old bar. Pricey but some hot locals hanging around. I could have stayed for a week. The place is great and is a must do for all. Suerte and happy hunting!

I have reciently spent four nights in the DR for a first time visit and wish to share the experience. The reports will be divided into four parts as I had rented a car and spent a night each in four different locations. Each part will be posted into the appropriate DR forum section.

In summary we have:
Day 1 - Santo Domingo
Day 2 - Bonao (Other Areas)
Day 3 - Puerto Plata
Day 4 - Boca Chica

Santo Domigo

I tried to follow some good advice found in the forum to change money at the airport by taking a series of right hand turns to end up at the departures area to use the cambio counter there. But, after two delays on my flight from Miami, I did not arrive until shortly after 9PM and the counters were closed.

I had arranged for a rental car to be available the next morning and had prebooked a night at the Hilton. I found a taxi to the Hilton for $35US. I also found that the casino at the Hilton will change any amount of dollars for 32 peso per. The front desk would only agree to change $100. After settling into a very nice room with an ocean view (booked on Orbitz for 120$), I found a taxi and presented the driver with my list made from the forum information.

We went first to Modelos, where I seemed to be the only customer at that time. I ordered a 20cl bottle of JW Black as this was my first stop and needed a few drinks. There were up to 10 chicas and one caught my eye and sat down at the bar with me. I had learned from the forum that negotiations were generally refused, but this being my first stop, I had to try. After some chitchat, I was quoted 2700 from the bartender. I offered the girl 2000. She was visable interested but had to defer to "the man". The man shook his head and refused to budge. I asked for the check, complained about the lack of cooperation on his part, paid and left. His only repsonse was a smug cross-armed stare. The small bottle was 1000. In hindsight, Modelos had the best selection of girls, the least competition, and the best price I would be quoted that night.

I went Theresas which was full of clients and chicas. There were perhaps 6-8 girls not taken. I found a table and selected a girls to talk to. After a couple of beers and conversation, I had my finger on the trigger to pay the waiter a bill for the drinks and 3000 for the girl. For some reason, it occured to me to ask her if she had an ID for the hotel. I guess that at that point I had thought about checking her in and thought to ask her. I turned out that she did not have an ID. I did not quite understand all of ensuing discussion that took place between her and the man collecting the bill. But it ended with him looking at me and shrugging his shoulders. So I paid for the drinks and left.

At this point, I am a bit hazy and cannot swear to exactly where I went next. It was either Cocos or Poblitos. Whichever one it was, it had nothing that attracted me. Whichever one it wasn't, is where I ended up finally. I know this is bad reporting, but I do drink when I am out there in the field.

I am pretty sure that I ended up at Casa Poblitos with a sense of urgency to get back to the hotel. I ended up with the girl in the attached pictures for 3000 and had an enjoyable if not too memorable time back at the Hilton. Sorry for the shoddy memory at the end of this post.

The one thing I do want to comment on with her is that this was the first time that I sought to use a female condom. I had read a bit about them in the forum and had purchased some from a local adult store before I left. They were not available at the two major chain drugstores in my area and I had no time to order online.

I presented the condom in the package to her along with the instruction page so that she could study the pictures. She had never seen this before but she was not resistant to try it. After showering and some foreplay, I inserted the condom into her, trying to use logic and the instructions to get it right. The problem that I had was that upon insterting the small ring, my finger are not long enough to place it deep enough so it seems bunched up. With my penis inside, I still need two hands to make adjustments to the outter ring. I tried to forget about the problems and concentrate on what was sure to be a good sensation. After several minutes of missionary, it was time to change positions. We both looked down to see that I was actually wearing the condom. Its oversized material and semi rigid hoops were in a bunched up wad on the tip of my cock. It looked nothing like the instruction page illustrations. This was enough for her to insist on a traditional condom for continuation. I did not protest and figured that I needed some time to think about what went wrong. More about the female condom in my Bonao report.

The next morning, I enjoyed the views and the coffee at breakfast at the Hyatt. The buffet offerings were cold and uninspired. I took a taxi back to the airport to get my car.

Day 2 with be posted in the Other Areas section.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I certainly hope that the author or somebody else will post a link to this report in the Reports of Distinction thread.

Arrived in SD via guagua from BC and checked into EL CONDE DE PENALBA on the Conde at the end across from the park. $60 USD for a nice air-conditioned room with a park view. Guest friendly, for ST, if not for the whole night. TLN is another $10USD. However, on the first night, the pigeons cooing and squawking on the balcony outside woke me at about 6AM. Damn! Changed to an inner, windowless room for the second night. Much better. Good bathroom and excellent air-conditioning. Bed was queen and comfortable.

First night went to CASA DE MODELOS. Time for the rip-off. I'm no 3000 peso monger! There were about 10 -15 girls, all light skinned Dominicanas, friendly and not aggressive (I had had my fill of that in BC!). The guy in charge, Julio I think, was a cold-hearted bastard, maybe 30 years old, who never met your eye, talked to you looking away, as if you were some kind of pest. He quoted 2700 for the chica, but I insisted on 2500 (another monger from Atlanta on the premises that night told me to ask for it). After a few times, he agreed to 2500. Went with Beatrice, a slim, dark-haired hottie who was friendly and professional without being GFE. She asked for 200 more for taxi and propina for her. I gave her the 200 extra and said "sufficiente". She looked like a Latina Vegas showgirl, with a body to match.

The next night I had written off these 2500 P4P nights. I found my way to the large open air dining area near the Conde area. It was like Europe, very upscale. It's where HARRY'S BAR is located for those who use guidebooks. Had an expensive dinner at a Spanish place, almost $30USD with tip for not the greatest food, but it was pleasant sitting outside and watching the scene unfold around me.

Then.....here's where it gets good (finally). As I'm walking back to my hotel on a semi-quiet steet about a block from the giant food court, I see a young black chica sitting on the wall, looking for something in her purse. She looks familiar. "Carina?" I ask. She looks up. It's the girl I met in the parque in BC. The one who I had the best GFE with while I was there. BINGO! Of course she lives in SD and visits BC when she needs some cash. We chat it up a bit, stop for a cerveza and up to my room. The pussy from BC transplanted nicely to SD the second time around. Same big clit and tight little spinner culo. The stuff dreams are made of! Wet ones!

Feeling lucky and satisfied...it was off on the final leg of the trip to Sosua, the place where all dreams come true...

Well I just got back from my first trip to Santo Domingo and I have to admit it exceeded my expectations. Thanks for everyone who leaves great information on this site and specifically to FORD who directly aswered a few extra questions I had!

Ok. We arrived on Thursday (July 6) and basically just ended up getting a taxi. I had tried to find a good driver to be around for the whole weekend but didn't find any real good recommendations [only a couple in past posts]. Anyway a Taxi was better than a Rental Car (after the scams I heard about). So off we were to the Renaissance Jaragua. I know I know. This is not a chica friendly hotel and we decided to go ahead since we got a $75 room rate and I am a Marriott platinum member. I thought I would give it a shot. In the end I won't plan on staying there again because their security is ridiculous and I gave hell to their management. However, there I was able to have at least 1 session in my room and the rest were in Casa's anyway. Before I get to the chica let me add some additional restaurant info. I love good food and boy did I find a great place. If you want to see the hottest (non-working) chick’s in Santo Domingo you have to go to Sophia’s. Now this is an expensive restaurant. I mean Miami prices. I was paying $8-9 a drink and our meal was around $50-75 a person. But this is the kind of place I like and we went there 2 nights out of the 3 we were there. I think I had the best Mojito I have ever had at this place and the Caipirinha are good also. The women are stunningly beautiful here and they almost all speak English (because this is the Elite of Santo Domingo). I was surprised no one else referenced this place but I tell you. It is definitely worth it! As for clubs. Check out Loft! It was really good and those who love the club scene with hot chicks will like it. If you want a little more low key but still a great time try a place called "Trio". There is also another little bar behind Trio and up the stairs that was playing great music and had a fun little crowd.

So lets get to the good stuff. Luckily my friend was acquainted with one of the owners of the Casa Mansion. So we had him pick us up and off we went. There were about 22 girls in the place and I was impressed with the quality. A few 8-9 and most of the rest were around 7’s. I am pretty picky so this is a good number. Anyway I picked up this really cute little spinner who was just awesome. I mean this girl just wanted to keep going and going. I nick named her the Energizer bunny. I am normally not a multi guy but damn if she did not get it out of me and I was even considering a 3rd. I had serious thoughts about taking this girl to my place the next night. She kept saying she wanted it 6 more times. LOL!

On Friday we decided to go with our friend to try a different Casa and also a strip club. We first went to the strip club. I think it was called "Sutra". Not that big but it was pretty nice inside. There were about 15 girls and there were a couple of stunners. Woo man! Me and my friend picked out the 2 hottest ones and decided to go get a dance (1000 pesos for 2 dances, but they are good. You can’t get too much out of it, but a hell of a lot of fun). Anyway they wanted like 7000 to take a girl to a room and we said Hell no. We in stead made plans to meet these 2 girls the next afternoon for lunch and hopefully a little more. After "Sutra" we headed to Casa Pink House. This was recommended by our friend but I really don’t know why. It was no where as good as Mansion but I ended up getting a chick that was about a 7 – 7. 5 It was her lips that did it for me. They just screamed BJ! Luckily the experience was pretty damn good and once again she kept me going for round two and I was loving every minute. [I really love how these Dominican girls get into it! ]

Now Saturday. We get a hold of the 2 girls from "Sutra" and they meet us as our hotel. We went to lunch and had a great time. We then went to the mall where (of course) the girls wanted us to buy them something. One of the girls got her belly button pierced and since I had never seen that before it was pretty classic! Anyway we had a great time and we got them back to our rooms. My friend was in the Garden room and he had an easier time getting her girl to his room. I basically had to sneek my girl into the elevator with me and luckily we managed to get through. This girl is so hot and gives a great GFE experience. We really had a good time and I definitely plan on seeing her again on my next trip. Considering I only spend about 2200 Pesos in the mall it was a great bargain to boot. Saturday night we kept pretty easy since we had already had our fun and we just went back to Sophia’s for a great dinner and ended up at Loft and Trio partying to 5a. M.

Overall a great experience in Santo Domingo. I was very impressed with the beauty of the women and I will definitely be returning. My normal travel destination is Panama City where they have some Hot Columbians working (and I have had a lot of luck with regular Panamanian women) but I think I will have to start splitting up my time!

Why do I live in the DR?

I often ask myself why I live here in the DR a 3rd world country?

1) The #1 cause of Death is auto accidents.

2) Dominicans homicide rate is 44 out of 100,000 people compare to NYC which is 11 out of 100,000 people. There were appx 2,500 murders in the DR in 2005 with a population about equivelent to NYC which had under 500 murders.

3) Only 10% of the people graduate High School and only 25% make it out of grade school. Not much intellect across the board and wealthy Dominicans are lighter skinned than darker Dominicans and the upper 70% of the wealth comes from the top 10% of the people. Also the DR pays the least amount of money per Capita per child on education in all of Latina America. It sounds as if the wealthy people don't want the poor people taking any of their money.

4) The average Dominican does not have potable water or a bathroom in their house. It is a fact of life & horrific that, in many barrios more than 50 families share one bathroom.

5) The Meats suck and forget about getting a good hamburger. If you want really good food there are some fine restaurants in Santo Domingo & Las Terranas but you will have to pay for it. When going out to eat the taxes and tips add up to appx 30% and that doesnt include a tip for the waiter. The propina on the bill goes to the restaurant owners mostly.

6) The average Dominican has only 6-8 hrs of electricity a day and Electricity costs double what it costs in the states and Europe. The main reason that there is no electricity in this country is that noone pays everyone taps in on free lines and the corruption adds to the problems.

7) The cost of gasoline is well over $4.00 a gallon approachung $5 USD per galollon. It is for that reason that many people are using Propane Gas which is cheaper but has such horrible fumes that sometimes it ios difficult to breathe if stuck in traffic.

8) Many mosquitos carry malaria so you have to be very careful especially in Higuey, Punta Cana and by the Haitian border.

9) The World factbook says the HIV rate is 2.5% in the DR but a recent study published it at 12%. Think about it the average dominican makes approximately 1300 pesos a week, assuming that he/she fucks 3 times a week. Why would he or she by a 3 pack of condoms which cost 150 pesos more than 10% of his/her weekly income? Now you have to say that if the rate is 12% well whats the hiv rate for *****s between the ages of 18-25? Since they are the ones having the most risky sex its possible it could be as high as 50% pretty fucking scary. Bottom Line is always use a condom.

10) Health Care If you do not have money or insurance and you go to the hospital, the doctors in many cases will not help you without payment There is scarce medicine available at hospitals and you must go to a pharmacy to purchase medication.

11) If you call an ambulance the ambulance may come in 1-3 hours depending on where you are. So, again, I suggest be extremely careful when driving.

12) The theft rate is one of the highest in the world. As in many other latin america countries people have metal gates on there entrance from top to bottom & bars on the windows to prevent theft and break ins.

13) In a recent study, per Capita Dominican women make up the largest percentage of prostitutes gloabally. FYI The top 3 countries with the most prostitutes are as follows, Thailand was #1 they have a population of 65 million people, Brasil 2nd with a 180 million people and the DR third with only 9 million people.

14 Corruption: The police are only paid $25-30 a week so they literally shake down motorists and make arrests so they can take a kick back to let people off. Remember, the policia has to put food on the table for their families too and 35 bucks a week aint gonna cut it.

In most cases the police practically beg you for money to feed their kids or for a beer, when they pull you over. And when I say pull you over, I mean pull you over. They set up roadblocks on any given night throught SD and just stop motorists and ask for money. If you don't give them money they might try to screw with you.

Why I love it here in the DR and why the negatives outweigh the positives:

Dominicans are very proud people and when I ask them why they are so proud of being Dominican 9 out of 10 reply. "I don't know why, just because I'm Dominican".

That's kinda how this topic came up cuz with so many negatives I don't know why I am here? Well maybe I've figured it out a little.

If you make a decent living you can avoid all of the pitfalls above except for the meat, milk and driving.

The women are the friendliest females in the world. Guys are a little bit of a pai in the ass as there are soo many hustlers aka (Tigres) but the women are awesome! Period. Dominican men fuck them, cheat on them, beat them abandon them at alarming rates, so If you treat them well they will appreciate your kindness and treat you like a king. (el rey)

The weather is fabulous & the beaches are amazing.

You feel a sense of freedom living in the D.R. people dont bother you for trivial stupid things.

Despite all the negatives Dominicans are geuinely happy people and I feel much younger living here. If you have a decent pension I think he DR is a perfect place to retire but you must know how to handle the pitfalls.

Santo Domingo was recently rated one of the cheapest & most affordable cities in the world.

I would love to hear your responses.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I certainly hope that the author or somebody else will post a link to this report in the Reports of Distinction thread.

My response is you present a fact based and realistic image of the country. Many residents aren't aware of some of the facts you reported.

I recommend the readers use it as a guide to evaluate the other information you see posted. My opinion is that any other information that doesn't mostly line up with the facts of this post contains some bullshit.

unbornson. . .sophias is certainly upscale. I drove past last week during the day and the cars lined up outside were insane. Lamborghini, 2 ferraris, jags and the more pedestrian Beamers and benz. . . ouch. . . .40% luxury tax on top of hefty price tags for those cars.

Yea. I told you. Sophias is definately top notch and the prices show. However you can still get a relatively good deal there by getting a bottle of Malbec red wine (which was not too expensive at like $22 a bottle) and get the Churassco (it was FABULOUS! ). Then maybe one appetizer. The portions are large so it should fill you up and not be too bad on the wallet. But it is more expensive than any other restaurant I went to. Oh. And be prepared to wait, make a reservation if you can but even then we waited at the bar for over an hour (happily drinking a Mojito and looking at the beautiful women. So it wasn't all bad)

Hi Unbornson,

Can you please tell us...how much the girls charged @ Casa Mansion, and also approx % of blancas in the line up...

Agree with you about DR gals...went to Santiago in 2004 and picked one from Passions, and I still remember her fondly...

I have been living in the DR for a while now and I would have to say that I agree with CS69 all day. And then some. Now I am a bit more blunt and I really don't give a shit what people think. I only say what is real and this country is it's own worst fuckin enemy. It's a very nonproductive place to try and call home be/see if you have money everyone is trying to take. And being broke is something The Platinum Castle won't stand for.

The problems are simple, people have no idea how to be clean, responsible, successful, independent, or use their brain in any way shape or for. This crazy ass dude I paid like 20k pesos for a queen size bed for one of the rooms this mutha fucka brings a queen size mattress and a full size frame and says. "it's suppose to hang off like that". YOU KNOW HE GOT CUSSED OUT LIKE HE STOLE SOMETHING. Point is it doesn't matter how stupid what they do is they will make up a reason for it to be so stupid and try to make you feel like your an idiot for saying something about it.

The real problem is:

The men of this country don't mean what they say and they don't say what the fuck they mean. They don’t back up what comes out of their mouth. These people are not a third world country by accident, it's there own fault. They believe in things like every man in the country or caribbean is suppose to wear long pants and a collared button down shirt and its 200 degrees outside, or they don't take you seriously is what one person that lives here said, I don't know about you but if it's 200 degrees anywhere in the world I am going to be as close to butt nekkid all the time that I can. Doing business, eating at a restaurant, shopping or whatever. The people of this country are only interested in how things look to other people and what they will say about it. Honestly who gives a fuck ain't nobody got no money in their pockets, and because they don't know I do they look down on me like I am the piece of shit. LOL. Go fuckin figure. I don't get that but that is all they do.

They will lie for no good damn reason

Case in point:

The electricity was off for like 3 days and me and the neighbors were all coming outside, inversor’s stopped working and the whole works, so me and my assistant see the 2 guys that work for the electric company come and start working on a pole. We go ask them if they are fixing the light and they say no, they don’t have anything to do with the part that is broken. They then say they called in and have a confirmation number on this ripped piece of newspaper and they are on the way. So an hour goes by and I ask my asst. If it felt like he was blowing smoke up our ass or what be/see my butt cheeks got tight. Out only baby, I have enough smoke of my own to blow up my own ass, so when someone else does my butt cheeks get tight. Anyway I told my asst. To call and find out.

Here is the real story, the electric dude never called and never told anyone and they had no idea anything was wrong, they then made a confirmation number and were there within a half hour and fixed the transformer which had blown out one night.

My point is there was no reason for these 2 dumbass dudes who work for Ednorton or however you spell the electric company's name to tell that fuckin story. None whatsoever but they do it anyway. So I just cuss everyone here out when they fuck up and try to fuck me and then they run away scared be/see everyone here only says what will make the other person shut the fuck up. That doesn't get anything done.

I don't give a shit what they think, how they do things or anything because their whole outlook on everything is ASSHOLE BACKWARDS so when they try to tell you some shit like they have to much blood and that’s why they give so much, ask them who told them that or whether they came up with it all by themselves be/see most of the shit that comes out of peoples mouth here is shit they thought up on their own. My maid my food that was nasty and said it was my tongue. Then everyone in my girls family commenced to dumping the food in the garbage an hour later when they came over. They have excuses people. Don't put up with them.

The excuses and lazy ass attitude is the cause of them being so damn broke, they want me to understand and accept there fucked up ass ways which I have and they don't want to be open to anything from someone who is and always has been successful. American’s! Nor teach their next generation of young men how to be anything but a lazy piece of shit that gets over on everyone. They are just happy being dumb!

I went to Francifold or some shit like that, I guess it's where the fuckin snobs hang out or whatever, they told me I couldn’t' come in because I had diamond earring s in both of my ears. Not just any diamonds, these are the real shit you bling bling with, you know how we Americans like to shine. Needless to say they asked me to take them out, and I told them in the most non insultive way I could, I won't be back to this piece of shit and each of my diamonds represent my daughters and have never been out of my ears. Therefore I was livid. I haven't been back and won't go and the other place I think is Tribeca told me I couldn't come in with Timberlands on. I would be willing to bet that I had more money in my pocket then anyone in the club and they said I couldn't come in be/see I look like I don’t. I had no problem with that either be/see they are both the same owner.

I did go to the IE bar downtown and the owner treated my like a celebrity. I really appreciated that and even though it’s a ritzy place, you can't put a price on being treated well.

Very few people in this country get it and it starts with the men. They are full of shit and they are dumb as a fuckin bag of rocks. They beat the shit out of their women, don't work, make the women go sell there ass to feed them and their kids and then go fuck other women like they are the shit. What they don't know is all of this shit is caused by them. They are completely ok with dirt and sharing germs and not being hygienic. They have no appreciation for anything at all. My advice is stay the fuck away from the men be/see they are not men at all, they all need their fuckin ass beat. They are teaching the other children to be pieces of shit too and they try to talk bad about me be/see I won't conform to their dumbass ways of lying and getting over.

Honestly I think we should put all the men of this country in the corner with a pointy hat that that says I am a dumbass on it. You will see it soon be/see I am recording all this stupid ass shit over here and when the rest of the world see's it and says they are stupid maybe they will make a change for the better be/see this way does not work in any way shape or form.

The country is disappointing to say the least but what makes me cool here over everything is the women are just the opposite of the men if you treat them right, but they have no faith in anything be/see all they see is backwards ass bullshit from there leaders and kings. So if you want a GREAT woman, come to DR be/see they are just that and then some if you treat them right and mold them they can be (and I mean everyone of them) have it in them to be Queens.

I am ciphering through the shit to get to the diamonds and wow what a find when I turn over some of the rocks I come across. Anyways, the Platinum Castle doesn't have time for this country's bullshit so we don't participate in anything but the benefits of the country. The women! Everything else is invisible and doesn't get into the Castle.

One more thing I found out, is the reason everyone only does the bachata here is be/see they are afraid they will look stupid trying salsa or any other latin dance or hip hop for that matter. The craziest shit I ever saw in life is a whole club doing the same dance for 6 hours. That shit made me sick so we have our own club in the Castle where we play everything including hip hop especially hip hop and you can be and do any fuckin dance you make up in your head and we will be doing the same.

I have one more. This is the last one. I went to Ochoa to buy a pool for the roof. I bought 2 small pools and I get home to fill it up and one of them has a hole in it, I then take it back to Ochoa. These mutha fucka 's tell me I have mucho problemos. I told them I just bought the piece of shit an hour ago. They said ooooooh no, you have mucho problemos. They then put a patch on it that of course didn't work then I came home to find out that the other one had a hole also. Ain't this a *****? . One big fuckin loss. These fuckin people trip me out with this type of bullshit but it let me further understand that nothing in this country is new and the rest of the world takes a big dump of all the shit that don't work and sends it here. So never buy anything from here. Ever, ever, ever. Get it from the states. So here is my take on the bullshit. Fuck off with the dumbass shit people, you have the resources to be a great country. Stop being so damn lazy. To all those Dominicans who are doing the damn thang and handling your biz. Props and big ups now would you please stick your foot in the rest of these fools ass PUHLEEEESE!

Thanks for listening and hope this info was helpful. And remember Tpc always keeps it real!

Although I dont agree with everything he says (not that is matters) I might as well agree with about 95 percent of it. Living here in Panama City, Panama it is the SAME bullshit. Or for that matter every latin america country I have lived in or vacationed. Guess its just a "trade off".

unbornson. . .sophias is certainly upscale. I drove past last week during the day and the cars lined up outside were insane. Lamborghini, 2 ferraris, jags and the more pedestrian Beamers and benz. . . ouch. . . .40% luxury tax on top of hefty price tags for those cars.Pytr,

Next time you drive by, check out how many of those cars have license plates beginning with the letter "Z." Those plates indicate a vehicle that was imported tax free. Among the beneficiaries of this policy are diputados. They get to bring in a certain number per year at first world market rates and resell them locally. Nice work if you can get it eh.

Very important thing to understand about the DR, things are rarely what they appear to be on the surface.

Bottom Line is, that after the death of Trujillo, Dominicans have become very uneducated people and have a very poor family structure and system. Most people live in broken families and this is why the FAMILY value system is so screwed up.

Dominicans are warm, friendly people but I once read a book that Dominicans don't think a Lie is a lie as long as it doesnt hurt someone. Well if you take that into account, that is why they try to con Gringos as much as possible because they all figure we are rich and we arent getting hurt by their bullshit scams.

In General But Not all Dominican Men are not humble at all, they lie, steal, cheat, and are lazy, dirty, selfish, pieces of shit with no education levels and not too many qualities to help improve the Dominican society. In my book this equates to low lifes. These Low Lifes make other Latinas look down on Dominicans as a whole, as well.

I know many educated respected Dominicans who are embarassed at the climate of the country as a whole.

However, I love their women who hate their men!

And its all thanks to the low lifes treating their women like Animals!

I hate to sound so hateful but in generallizations I can make these statements because I have experinced it for many years living in the DR. And it all reverts back to education, I will write more inetersting facts about living in the DR coming soon!

Cheers,

CrazysunnyI haven't been here for years yet but I have to say that the "Low Life" element of the country is probably about 95% of the men and it's a shame how someone could actually fix their fuckin mouth to not just say but put in writing "a lie is only bad if it hurts someone" That's the same dumbass shit that got them in this fuckin mess. My girl got mad at me because she believes that if your hands are hot. LOL like from ironing or cooking you can't touch the refridgerator or anything cold. And of course I laughed extremely loud because that is some of the stupidestist fuckin bullshit I ever heard. She got really pissed because she believed this bullshit her whole life.

Let me emphasize dumb. Can somebody send an elementary school here from the states. So we can teach them things like HOW TO READ AND WRITE and not what to do when your fuckin hands are cold cuz it really doesn't matter. That was yesterday. Let's see what the hell they come up with today.

I hope this information isn't to late but I just read your post. I stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Delta about 4 months ago. I was brought there by a local business man and through him I got a suite for about $80 per night. It is 100% Chica friendly with no fees and no questions asked. The place is clean and it would probably get a 3 star rating in the US. The only thing I didn't like was that the elevators were like shoe boxes. Since the power in the DR can go out a couple of times an hour it wouldn't be a very good place to get stuck. If this sort of thing might bother you just ask for a room on the 2nd level and pop up the stairs.

As a side note I had a blast in the DR, can't wait to go back, and would stay at that hotel again.

Be Safe, Rider Jay

Does anyone have experience at the hotel delta in Santo Domingo? www.hoteldelta.com.do

Do visitors need to register there with their cedulas? A visitor's fee? Please e-mail me with any info. Thanks in advance.

Is your place made from materials from the stealth bomber? I can't seem to find it, or anyone who has ever been there. Can you supply me with and address, and a photo of the neighborhood where it is located? So far it appears to be a website full of used crack *****s from sosua. I congratulate you on your new place, but could you turn off the cloaking device long enough for someone to see it?

I can reccomend Hotel Palacio. It's a very good hotel in a Side street to El Conde. It's a bit expensive, but chica friendly, and a perfeckt location. No extra fee for the chicas, they only take a photocopy of her cedula.

I also have been bowled over by Latina superstitions! There are some doozies out there. I had a chica from Colombia who drank cinnamon tea to help relieve her menstrual cramps. The thing is that the only way to make it so it would work was to heat the water in the oven with the cinnamon sticks in it. Boiling water in an ordinary kettle wouldn't work. I heard some others but forget them as quickly as possible. If you remember too many of these superstitituons, your brain gets addled! LOL!

Any recomendations about Intercontinental hotel? I have a good offer there. I have stayed at both hotels. Intercontinental and Hotel Palacio both are girl friendly. I have never had a problem at either. Hotel Palacio was cheaper for me.

Intercontinental hotel is a business hotel with great service. Hotel Palacio is a older hotel with nice rooms and located in the old city. Some of the carpets in Intercontinental smell. If the price is right then then the Intercontinental is ok.

Intercontinenta will speak english....Hotel Palacio..depends on what time your there. My next trip i will stay at the Palacio. In december i will stay at the Intercontinenta. New year is good there.

Hey,

I am in Sanot Domingo until Monday. If anyone wants to grab a beer and some chicas give me a pm or leave a message at my hotel. I have not had any great experiances in the DR yet but everyone keeps telling me if you know where to go you can indulge in semi pros, non-pros, and straight hardcore pros. I have a couple of young chicas down here that I met on my last trip. 18-20 years old. Very cool chicas and they are solid 8's. But they are non-pros and I just got into the ones pants. I had been talking to here once a week from back home. I am forced to come do to this rainy abis once a month to vist my son so I'm stuck here now. I have never been here(my 5th trip in 5 months) and it has not rained the entire time. ie...its storming right now) I'm down for the regular clubs strip clubs or whatever even a damn good sports bar would be like a trip to South Beach right now.

I'm at the Courtyard Marriott on Maximo Gomez

Hey Chacha,

I have been to both, numerous times. Both places are alot of fun, and will definitely do the trick! I think, however as the war in Iraq drags on (and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on) the real question is where are you flying from and what kind of deal can you get on airfare to both places. Are the air prices comparable?

I remember I could fly from NYC to SJO or SDQ in 2004 for around $300 each (direct) now I've seen airfares to CR of $600 and more. With fuel costs so crazy, the flight price has become most important, especially if you plan on traveling for only a long-weekend.

cheers..........

How safe is the dominican republic? And are the girls typically light skinned blacks or are they closer to the haitian variety?

I used to work there in 03 - 05. It really depends where you go that will dictate your experience. If you stay in the tourist areas, that is very cleaned up, that's another world compared to the way people really live. If you want to spend time with the locals, there are some parts you will need some protection to get through. There are some places I never went without being armed or having someone I trusted being armed.

Although they like foreigners, there is still a large percentage of the population that sees you as nothing more than a meal ticket. Not unusual off the beaten path to see a drunk German getting their ass kicked, just because they are foreign.

Outside the tourist areas when they don't have to be nice. If you spend enough time with them you will learn what they think of people. In generally I got this impression:

Canadians are perverts who like to have sex with animals and the women are *****s.

American men are weak and the women are *****s.

Europeans are weak yet very arrogant and the women are *****s.

Some of the stories they told me were quite funny, they said Canadians used to come around wanting to rent a goat for an afternoon for sex. That's how they got that rep. The ***** part, it's really not that uncommon to find foreign women looking for a boy toy down there. And the women often get drunk and at like sluts at the resorts so, the reputation of them being sluts is earn.

If you are American, you will have to prove you are no push over, otherwise they never will fully respect you as a man.

How safe is the dominican republic? Safer than Brazil, not as safe as Cuba.

And are the girls typically light skinned blacks or are they closer to the haitian variety?"About 75% of all Dominicans are mulatto, that is, of mixed European and African ancestry. Some of these could also possess a smaller degree of indigenous Taíno ancestry. The presence of Taíno ancestry in the Dominican genepool needs to be further tested, and without proper scientific investigation sweeping claims cannot be made about the exact composition of any indigenous bloodlines.

There are also black and white (primarily Spanish descended) minorities. A smaller presence of East Asians (primarily ethnic Chinese) and Middle Easterners (primarily Lebanese) can also be found. The culturally indigenous Amerindian population is practically extinct..." www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominican_republic

I went in June, used some American Airlines miles, and stayed at the "Hostel Riazor" across from the rear of the Jaragua Hotel. Cost was about $45. The first night they tried to charge my $55 by telling me all they had available was a delux suite with balcony. I had no choice but to accept that for the first night.

I went to Lapsus both nights and pulled out a stunner each night, one 18 with no kids, the other 22 with one kid, but they were both duds with attitude back in the room. I paid the club 2,500 pesos for a 2 hour salida, but was disappointed on the service each time. Problems included cell phone talk while you are undresssing them, wanted to run out after the first pop, my baby has a fever, etc. I always hear the same shit from the Dominican girls, since my first visit in 1995. I told the girl with the kid to shut up and go to sleep until 2 am. She knew I spoke spanish and had heard "the kid has a fever" bullshit before. This is typical for the Dominican girls, they are alot like New York girls, very street wise to steal from you.

The last night I stayed at the new Marriot, normal cost was about $150 for a corner room with ocean view from both sides, but with my govt. ID they gave it to me for $80 or so. Watch out, alot of these chains add on a 15% surcharge for service, without telling you up front. Then they also add on a few dollars to help the "poor children". When I protested they removed the dollars to help poor children charge, but not the service surcharge. The clerk said it was a "tax" required on the island. bullshit.

I also ate at Manolos, back side of Jaragua. Good, solid food. I went into Tony ....... Rib House? by the Marriot, an American chain. I was not hungry and asked about ordering half an order of ribs at half the price. They brought it out and I asked the price and turned out they tried to charge me for a full plate of ribs. I was so fed up with this Domican rip off of gringos I just walked out and left the Ribs on the table, untouched. I told the manager exactly the problem and walked out.

My last day, Sunday, I went to Casa Modelo and looked around, about noon, but the girls were still sleeping. 2,500 pesos was the standard 2 hour fuck charge there also. No negotiation allowed. Only one girl came down the stairs, so I left.

I went a nightclub bar about 4 blocks from hotel Riazor on "Paloso?" street, the one with the name spelled wrong, and tried to negotiate from 2500 pesos. One girl was well endowed, was first willing to salida for 2000 pesos, but when I told her up front she had to turn off her cell phone and give me a BBBJ she changed her mind. She would have been a runner anyway. So the last night I just relaxed.

I remember too. In 2004, flight costs from NYC to San Jose were about $260 (not includ. tax.) I should have gone then. Now the costs are comparable to Rio. Well, I'm not going "back" to Costa Rica in October...

I'm glad someone also liked the food at Manolos. It is directly outside the back exit of the Jaragua Hotel and is open 24 hours. They have a long menu of Dominican comida criolla (typical Dominican fare). The "Rib House" you refer to is the well know American chain Tony Roma's "famous for ribs".

It is located in the brand new Malecon Center right next to the Hilton Hotel.
I have eaten here many times. Yes, you are right. Real good food but definitely not exatly what I would call cheap.

By the way, Ford, Manolos appears to be a chain. I was in Panama City, Panama, 3 weeks ago and across from Casino Veneto and club Oasis was "Manolos" restaurant. Must be a franchise?

There were a few good looking girls there on the porch at Manolos in Panama City to pickup, but not like Habamos. Has anyone else been at Manolos in Panama City Panama?
