Is buying a HK VIP card for this trip worthwhile? Seems the hotel savings of 20% on Sunday and 50% on Monday and maybe Tuesday alone is worth the cost. If you are staying at cascadas for those nights then get the gold VIP card. It would have paid for itself in just one trip and is good for 4 months after that.
As far as cash goes it depends on you and your bank. They have a few American banks there like chase. I personally take as much cash needed for the trip and exchange it into pesos before entering mexico. I take a taxi straight to my hotel and checkin ASAP. I then only take whatever cash is needed for the day or night and leave the rest in my room. If I go to dinner then I take what is needed then return to the room and then take what is needed for the night.
If you have the VIP card go to the same place you bought your VIP card and tell them you need a ride to the border. They will ask to see your VIP card and call the van or limo around to pick you up and drop you off at the san ysidro border. I tip the guy a $1 and onto the line.

They're all also named after some relatively famous person, or something in Mexican history. It's a bit confusing because the North-South streets are also named after people, but have no numbers.
So, Articulo 123 (an article of the Mexican constitution) is also Calle Primera. Stick with the numbers and not the names. It's easier and the locals will still know what you're talking about. In fact, most locals I've talked to only use the numbers.

3) IIRC, ficha drinks are $7. The girls gets $3 of that. Once you see a girl you want to get to know, invite her over and buy her a drink. They aren't allowed to sit for long periods of time with a customer unless they have a drink.

I was at HK yesterday evening and decided to take advantage of the Monday half price special and stay the night. The room was $27. 50+$10 (key deposit). It was on 6th floor right below the new penthouses. The layout was almost same as the 30-min rooms on the 1st floor but much cleaner and with better linens. Also a little bid of more decoration like a cubic red chair, a floor vase at the corner, and somewhat contemporary erotic picture frames on the wall. Honestly, those Kamasutra pictures in the 1st floor rooms freak me out for some reason. Hehe Since I had the room I felt obligated to repeat with my favorita, although I knew I was contributing to her boob job surgery that is coming up soon. There is not one place that is perfect, there are a lot of thngs about the HK experience that I like, and some things I don't, but that can be said about other bars too. Spread yourself around to other bars, or go at a different time of day to HK, you may see things differently. Of course there is no argument about the commercialization you mentioned, I personally do not like having a mesero try to bring chips or cheese plate without asking, but it's pretty simple to just say NO, you aren't being forced to buy it, just waive it off.

KegHK does not do pat downs or charge $5 at the door on week days during the daytime from Sun to Wed I can't remember if they do at night its been a while. I was finally able to convince one of my long time friends to make a run to Tijuana with me. We arrived at HK at 9:00, right at the start of the lez show. Hello All. I am a veteran hobbyest but this was my first time visiting Tijuana for the hobby. In short, it is a poor man's FKK and I would go back. I would prefer longer more GFE sessions but I had a ball! I went to Adelitas and Hong Kong but I sessioned twice with girls from Hong Kong so I will post this in the HK forum.
I learned the following:

It is too late to amend but I should have included the following:

I was looking through my wallet and I cannot find that card at the moment. I will find it and put the address in here. It was an outstanding steak house and the house appetizer specialty is empanadas. I would say that paying after service is typical of most of the places I have been to where the service is GFE. So you are right, I probably should have insisted on this. Does this happen?Yes this can be acomplished. It is much easier to pull off if you are a regular to Tijuana and can establish some repeat contacts. The most important thing to consider is to find some girls who you have some chemistry with. It can get pretty uncomfortable if the sex is finished and niether one wants to be together for the night. As far as Tijuana goes the best tip I could give you is try to set up as many all nighters as you can for the same night. The chicas have been known to be pretty flakey. So if you arrange for 3 or 4 TLN's in one night if you are lucky one of them won't flake out.
As far as a good hotel for a TLN I would reccomend the Ticuan. The rooms are nice, you will have no problems having a guest. While not being located in the zona it is close enough. Having spent over 2 weeks in San Diego and making it to Tijuana for 13 of those days, I am now back on the east cost with few choices beyond the girlfriend, ripoff escorts, AMPs, and crack hookers walking the streets. Tell the front desk you smoke (or don't smoke), the elevator is noisy, you wanted a view, king bed (or two doubles) etc. Change hotels because you collect Hilton points and not Marriott or vise versa. Bow out of dinners by feigning that you are too tired or that the Asian diet doesn't agree with you and something made you ill. Turn in early because you are jet lagged or you have to dial into an international conference call. Do not share your latest Itinerary and arrive early or stay late. And my favorite is I went to visit Tijuana to practice my Spanish.

I was at HK Wednesday afternoon and was having a drink by myself and probably about to leave when a girl came up to me. On a whim, I said, sure, why not, and bought her a drink. Long time lurker, got a lot of helpful tips here. Wanted to contribute by writing a short trip report.
Got to HK about 4 PM on a Wednesday, there were about 30 girls of varying hotness, and about maybe 50 patrons (mostly Mexicans but some gringos too). Patdown at the door, no cover. Waiters were doing a great job and very attentive. Had a beer, took a couple of walks around, and was itching to see the talent at AB (its like the itch to see what else is on tv after you find something that you like on). AB was comparatively much more dead. Maybe 10 girls, 15 customers. Was offered arrriba for 40 from a 6.5/7, not bad at all. Went back to HK and one of the messeros asked me what kind of chica I liked and brought over a real hottie, shortish dirty blond hair, face looks like Penelope Cruz, skinny, ideal fake tits. My general impression of going solo on a weekday was that it is ridiculously safe (I know that this is always mentioned but wanted to reiterate this point). There is a lot of hustle and bustle going on in the alleys and streets immediately surrounding HK with a ton streetwalkers and everything else but the police presence is crazy and there wasn't anything that made me feel uncomfortable. My main issue with zona compared to Pattaya and to some extent also MDE is that the local language seems necessary to have a great time for me. In MDE the case was the same, but the GFE made up for it, even in the casas. What is the etiquette, between you and your lady, when you have rented a room at Cascadas for the night?
When I am renting by the "arriba," when the time person comes a knocking I usually pay for additional time, and end up paying the girl for additional time. How does this shake out when you have already arranged for the room? Do you talk about this upfront with her in the bar? Is there an understanding that she is implicitly on the hook for additional time? Does it depend on how well you are connecting?

Since I am close by and really like Tijuana, I don't know whether it is best for me to try to pick up spanish or better yet do some research and find a new spot or change my approach at HK and AB because the environment at these two gogos is ideal (drinks reasonable, safer, etc.).I find in Latin America it's always best to be able to speak the girl's language. A little Spanish goes a very long way in improving one's experience.

Just to be pedantic, HK and AB hardly have reasonable drinks, I doubt they're any safer than any other semi-upscale club in Tijuana (in fact, they may be more dangerous because, IMHO, drunk gringos tend to be more belligerent than drunk Mexicans) and no local in Mexico would put up with the shit they routinely pull on gringos in HK.
I have been lurching around this forum for the last six months and finally was able to go down Monday night. I am posting this in HK since that was my base of operations, but I did enjoy more of the Zona than just HK.
The biggest issue was coming up with an alibi. I think there should be a whole section on the forum for the alibi. I live in LA / OC area, so the trek is long enough that I can't just go down and back in the afternoon or evening. So the shortest amount of time I could create an alibi for was 24 hours (and that was pushing it). The day I left, I had thought through where I was going to stay, how much money I was going to take, and even when I would text and call. But the thing I didn't count on was the phone ring if I received a call. I left a message on the forum and realized that if I received a call in Mexico, that the person calling me would hear a different ring tone. So at the last minute, I decided to put my phone into airplane mode so I wouldn't connect to the Mexican phone service. I decided that it would be easier to say that my phone died and I was charging it, than to try to explain the strange ringtone.
As a prelude, let me just say that I had been to Adelita's about 10 years ago. At the time, I thought it was great, but the thing I didn't like about it was that since I didn't speak much Spanish, I couldn't make conversation. Also, if there was a "ficha" drink I didn't know about it. So all I was doing was picking a hot girl, negotiating and taking her upstairs. I know, some of you would say, "What's wrong with that. ". I agree that is pretty awesome, but I just wanted to ease into the transaction a little bit. So when I started reading reports about Hong Kong, I realized that this was what I was looking for. The stated rate is $55 for Mon-Wed with a 1:00 pm check out. I did stumble onto the Las Chaveles website the day I left and noticed a ½ off coupon for the hotel. But you had to buy a bucket of beer, which costs $20. That would have been fine, but when I walked into LC, I wasn't impressed with any of the girls. So it didn't make sense to spend any time there. So I ended up paying full price. I checked into the room and to my surprise it wasn't a total shithole. It was actually pretty clean. And of course, the benefit to having a room is that you aren't paying the per deed rate. You just pay the front desk $1 for a condom. I did not figure out how to get more towels. There are only 2 in the room and that is not really enough. I am sure if I had tipped the guy that brought me to the room, he could have gotten me more towels. If you are going to bring girls to the room, you've got to get more towels. If each one takes a shower, they are going to want a fresh dry towel. And you don't want to take a shower yourself with a used wet towel. I only ended up bringing one girl up to the room, so she used one towel and I had the other one for myself.

It was very refreshing after a long night of drinking. I was worried about getting sick from it because I don't know if they use tap water, but I was fine.
Morning in HK:

CTDanThis is just my experience. With HK girls at Cascadas, if you pay $60 - $80, I think there is an implicit agreement for 30 minutes. But if it's slow, or the girl is service-oriented, or she thinks she may get more drinks or a repeat visit from you, or she's into you, she may stay with you longer. I would probably discuss the time upfront if it was my first time with a girland I wanted more than 30 minutes. If I was repeating, I wouldn't discuss the time, and just see how things played out. I had a favorita (Paris) at HK who would stay with me the whole 45 minutes when I got the room short-term as a VIP, or an hour when I got the room for the night. She gave me great GFE. I always paid her $70. This was 3 or 4 months ago. She may still be there.

I've started learning how to ask basic questions. I. e. Where are you from, what kind of music do you like, etc. And trying to answer them in simple Spanish.

I never expect them to be honored, and am always prepared to pay full price. However, I have successfully used the half-off coupon after just buying a soda. The bartender even threw in a free soda. I didn't need to buy a bucket of beer. The waiter (Primo) had to talk to the manager first, and get a signature, and then he personally took the coupon to the desk clerk at Cascadas. I tipped him and the bartender a couple bucks each, and got the room for $27.

Sounds like the plan is to get the HK VIP Card for $50 because it gives you extra time with the lady in the short-term $12 hotel room (45 minutes compared to 30 minutes, in your helpful example), and the VIP card will discount overnight Cascadas hotel rooms by 20 to 50 percent.
