sounds like Lucero de Veracruz, 19 about 5' 4"-6" 120 no kids, morena skin with dark piercing eyes, prominent nose and a small mouth? She is pretty good and fairly friendly. Not much english and does only do the quick sinkwash afterwards in the hotel. Likes getting eaten out so I made sure I only went with her early in the shift.

This time, it turned out to be a chica dancing directly below, on the standing room only stage(only room for 1 girl, sometimes you'll see two, and its really crowded.) Her name was Lucero. Not the cutest face, but an incredibly tight and toned body. She's probably 20ish.

One of the bosses took me for a private tour of the soon-to-be-expanded side of Hong Kong and it was mind boggling. This is a first class job designed to international standards decorated with slabs of marble, granite, stainless steel and tempered glass. Crisscrossing catwalks with double-tiered rows of cubicle style private rooms overlook the action below.
Although I'm friends with the management, I've never stayed in HK for a drink. The meseros are now dressed in some corny uniform consisting of what appears to be used Cal-Trans day-glow safety vests with no shirts underneath and plastic hardhats. With staff attired like members of the Village People, this creates an uncomfortable atmosphere. It's hard to figure what they are thinking on this one.
Although the interior construction on the new side appeared far from finished, I counted fifty workers supposedly on double shifts. Ordinarily, I'd guess them a month away from total completion but my friend insisted they'd be done and open for Wednesday evening's Grand Opening. A big-time Mexican film star is supposed to make an appearance.

Yes, this Wednesday. Normally, I'd say that this is impossible given the stage of construction when I checked it out Thursday but my friend was adamant and there were fifty guys working hard. I don't remember the name of the actress but he seemed pretty proud that she was coming. He also claimed that a whole new string of dancers would be on duty.
Considering that they are more than doubling the size of HK in one night, they would need a shitload of new talent. I'm curious to see if that turns out to be mostly gorditas or if they've done some serious recruiting. This renovation has to be close to a million bucks. Labor may be cheap but they used expensive materials. The start-from-scratch design was impressive as most renovations in TJ are just patchwork.

I left early. I'll go back tomorrow. The bad news is that beers are $3.50, even before 7pm. That's on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. On Monday through Thursday, it'll still be $2.
It was just too crowded for me to really get into it.

Well actually I spend about $5 for water once tip is included. Which I find very expensive. This goes the same for purchasing bottled water at all the other bars as well. Am I getting ripped off here? I should start sneaking in bottled water.
It use to be $3.50 for two beers before 7pm. Then, they changed it to $2 per beer before 7pm. Now, it's $3.50 per beer at all times Friday through Sunday. I think that water is $3.50 at all times.

No, the 2x1s are over. I'm walking there in about ten minutes, and will let you know if they did finally open the other side. Someone else said that they did not, last night, which is surprising because there was definitely a party atmosphere with balloons everywhere.

They didn't let people in until much later I'm told. I had left before they let people in, but I saw it when the maseros and girls were going in, and it looked real good.
Well, they did open the other side, and I have to say that I am impressed. Hong Kong Bar has, at least, tripled in size. There's another large stage. Next to the stage is a jacuzzi. There was a lesbian show going on in the jacuzzi. There's also another shower with a large dragon on top.
On the second level are seven private booths. Catwalks are everywhere. You really have to watch your step. There's a smaller bar a couple of steps up from the second level.
Of course, there are television screens everywhere, but above the bar are nine screens in rows of threes. They are not hooked up, yet. I'm imagining many different sporting events at the same time sprinkled with some music videos.
There was a good crowd, but then, I was a Saturday. I don't know what it will be like on a Tuesday. At least the beers will be cheaper. I ran into a friend. His girlfriend works at Adelitas. His prediction is that many of the girls from Adelitas will defect, and move to HK. He could be right.
I don't know about ab girls defecting just because ab has a lot of girls and then there will be fights between the girls, and hk is more of like a strip/lapdance/bar area whereas ab seems to be more of a bar and go upstairs kinda spot.
I'd really like to check out the new Hong Kong. It's true that the atmosphere in Ab is different from HK. HK is definitely more strip bar, while AB is more hang out bar. Unless HK conforms a separate area of the newly expanded bar to be more relaxed hang out area, then the AB girls will switch over to HK and stay in the hang bar area and only the wild girls will want to do the stripping dance pole part. This would cause AB to turn into another club that once had its heyday like Chicago Club is now. :(

Why would a guy get into a serious relationship with a prostitute? Either he doesn't really like her, is getting some kind of kick back from her earnings(a pimp), or has a bad view on relationships. Or maybe all of those things. I know I shouldn't be judging a person but I just see that as odd.

Just went to HK for a little bit and saw how much it has expanded, the street ab is on is where all the new remodeling happened, theres a bar to the left and stairt that go up to the right and theres like couchs all around the floor and if you keep going straight thats where the other side of hk is, the one were use to. More girls, look a better then I would say ab. But ab has more girls over all.

I hear ya but save those tears por favor. There are plenty of chicas at CC who like the slow pace very much. They realize that they could go up 3 to 5 or more times per night at Adelitas or other bars but they prefer not.
They have their regulars, work in a few out dates, collect some fichas and are very happy. Granted there are some at CC starving and sometimes go home less the cab fare it cost to get to work. They too, have a choice of staying or leaving. Some leave but plenty stay and new ones are coming in daily.
I hope CC stays basically the same. My only concern is for those who are really good quality providers and as far as putas go basically good honest people who are not making a decent living due to the over all slow down of gringos going to TJ.
I wonder if with HK expansion, and the need for more chicas, if the street girls will move up in status to the clubs. Maybe not HK but to the others when those chicas bail? I am not sure how the order of progression, if there is one, works.
Before you make a special trip to see the new Hong Kong, realize that they are still remodeling. I was there a while ago, and the new part was closed. They had placed a tarp between the two sections.
My guess is that, for now, both sides will be open during the weekends, and only the old part open during the week, That is, until the remodeling is finished.
I stopped in to see the new section on Tuesday night and it was blocked by the tarp as Roguesta suggested.
I juggled my schedule and took the day off on Tuesday. Luckily, it turned out to be good weather.
Go to the border at 1:15. It was nice, so I decided to walk to La Zona. It's only about 15 minutes walk from the UETA lot.
I wanted to check out the new HK, so went past AB to check out the new front door. Wow. Fancy frosted glass doors, big sign above saying the grand opening is May 23.
I walked in the front door, past the guys working, and looked around. It looks a lot like the old part, in that there are 3 levels, balconies, etc. But it's nicer and a lot newer. The stairs don't appear as steep, either. It looks like it's going to be really nice, but they're going to need a lot of girls to staff it.
After getting an eyeful, I went outside and around to the back. The halves are separated by a tarp, and they won't let you through. There seemed to be a lot of girls there, or maybe they were more visible. It looked a lot like a Thailand bar, in that there were bunches of girls on the "stage" dancing, both on the first and second floors. After a lap I literally bumped into the Divine Ms. S. Resistance is futile!
So, we retired to the 3rd floor and ordered cervezas. The waiter brought them, I paid with a 20, he brought back the change. It seemed about $1.5 light. When it came time for the next round, he broght the correct change. Then the light bulb came on. (I'm a bit slow) He'd charged me $1.50 for the stupid little bag of Cheetos that he'd laid on the table the first time. I didn't ask for, or want them. Oh, well. It appears that beers are $3, and the 2x1 is gone. LDs are still $7.
After some chit-chat and 3 for her, 2 for me, we decide to retire. There is some major construction going on in Cascadas, so some of the rooms, including the one we got, are really, really noisy. Lots of thumping and banging.

The third was sitting all alone at the small bar. She wasn't my type, so I kept going out the door. Big signs saying that beers are $2 Mon - Thur before 8, and $3 Mon - Thur 8 - 12. No idea what they want outside of those hours.
No line at border at 6:00pm, walked right through. Dork asked where I was going. Huh? Home.

Great! It was even worse than I thought! That means I probably got screwed on my other beers, too. I thought they were suppsosed to be cheaper, but I wasn't sure. I did know the 2x1 was gone. I'll watch closer next time.
BTW, they did the same in Tropical. I'll post a report in that thread.

After 5 trips HKG in 6 months last year, I've had to suffer thru almost a year of no travelling. Finally, I'm headed back for a few days and want to maximize my fun.

Caught the opening night festivities at the double-sized HK Friday night. Got there a bit after 10 or so. Walked in the new entrance and was handed a can of Tecate. “Gratis, free tonight only my friend.” Nice start. Walked in. It was bumpin’ loud and PACKED. Chicas in short little stretch dresses with Hong Kong imprinted across the ass where everywhere.
Straight ahead, down a couple stair and around a pillon. That took about 10 minutes. Did I mention it was packed? I mean wall-to-wall, shoulder-to-shoulder. The place was a circus: including a fat guy in a clown outfit with a rainbow afro wig blowing a whistle non-siop, pounding musica, fast Spanish talking DJ yelling without let-up, confetti everywhere, a man and woman mines striking stupid poses in the new shower area, dozens of maseros in jester hats trying to push their way through the crowds, dozens of strippers in New Orleans/Rio Carnival outfits (bird masks, tons of glitter, body paint, big feather boa things sticking out the backs of their thongs), live video of the action up on the big multiscreen, a million guys of course, lots and lots of good-looking nicely dressed non-stripper girls who where just there for the fun, a few curious streetgirls wandering in for the free beer, and dozens and dozens (seriously) of chicas in those Hong Kong dresses dancing arm-to-arm EVERYWHERE, across all the catwalks and up and down all the staircases. Wild!
They had set up a boxing ring next to the downstairs stage. I first wanted to check the place out, having not been there for a few months. Very hard to move on the first floor, but doubled back and made my way up the stairs slappin’ 8 or 9 “Hong” checks along the way. Second level was a bit less crowded, you could kinda move along if you were patient. Every inch of the catwalks were covered, so you can lay to rest any worries around how sturdy they are.
Third level was a reasonable short cut from side to side. The top level bar on the end actually had a little bit of breathing room. Ordered another beer as waiter service was impossible that night. Made my way back down the stairs on the new side, this time slapping all the “Kong” cheeks on the way down. Played my cards right and managed to get a set at the stage. After one of the Carnival bird girls was finishing her set, the reign of weirdness started.
With the DJ screaming something completely unintelligible non-stop, a parade of the Hong-Kong-Dress girls made their ways down the stairs onto the stage, then started dancing elbow to elbow for a couple of songs. I counted 17-18, assume the same thing was going on on the other stage. There were guys playing drums along with the musica while the girls did their best to dance within their one-square-foot and not fall off the stage. They later conga-lined back off the stage and where soon replaced by three women in black batlike costumes. These three, non-very-attractive women just stood there for the most part, then eventually slowly waved their long black wings up and down back and forth. We were all pretty much waiting for the point to occur, but things like that don’t happen much in Mexico. Then they left and a small guy in a tuxedo-like outfit began semi-Flamenco dancing around on the stage. I thought he was just going to do the setup for the shaving cream show, but that never happened. Instead, he was up there for a LONG half hour lip-syncing and joking around in Spanish. This wasn’t just “gay.” This guy was clearly flaming gay. Nonetheless, all the girls were thrilled stuffing dollars in his belt. Those that could understand Spanish where laughing throughout, so he was clearly a good comedian, but for those who aren’t fluent, we were just uncomfortably clapping when everyone else did and waited for it to be over. And waited. And waited.
Coming up next was the boxing match, and the one thing not coming up through all this was my dick.
I love HK, It is the only place I go to in TJ. I sit at the stage with a pocket full of singles, enjoy a beer or two, rub the parading pussies and nipples, maybe buy a girl a drink and then it’s arriba-time. But tonight wasn’t HK business as usual. There were some guys at tables with girls, but mostly non-hooker girlfriends/wives. This just wasn’t the kind of atmosphere where you could do business. Realizing that, I made it over to AB before the fight started to clear the ringing in my ears and get my freak on (more on that in the AB posting section).
When I came back after my session, the crowd had thinned a bit. The weirdness seemed to be over and things where starting to get back to the usual stripping/hooking business. Hung out at the old stage for a little while, but didn’t want to get covered in stripper glitter, so eventually, around 1:30 a.m., made my way out the new side while they were taking apart the boxing ring supporting structure. Walked across the border with zero wait time, just 3 people in front of me.
All-in-all, a great party experience. Lots of fun, lots of wildness, a little weirdness, not much sexiness. But I guess that’s OK for one night.
I was back about 12 hours later and am happy to report that it was nearly empty, the new side was open but dark and I was able to conduct business as usual.

Greyhound has routes from L.A. to downtown S.D. for about $30 round-trip;check out their website. Once in downtown S.D., you would catch the trolley to San Ysidro(S.Y). Or you could catch a metrolink train from L.A. to Oceanside, then take the Coaster to S.D., then trolley to S.Y.

The cost is about $17 each way. 3 different bus lines including Greyhound but Greyhounds service is not every hour and is not usually express. I normally take one of the other two bus lines because they are express and travel time is 2 hours or less.

I went to the HK club Sunday and although the club itself has improved dramatically, the quality of the women has not. Same old beasts walking around.

Too many brain-dead customers pay inflated prices at night. If they ask for $100, laugh at them and send them on their way. There is no reason to pay that kind of money for a 30m session.
Anyway, during the early shift it is rarely a problem to get sessions for $40 or $50, full hours for $80 are not too difficult. Evenings should never go above $60, especially if you buy her a couple of drinks. If they demand more, blow 'em off. TJ is a buyer's market.

Greyhound is partnered with Crucero USA. Phone: 714-542-2215. The tickets are $18 each way. Usually the bus you ride will be a Crucero bus.
The other bus line is Transportes Intercalifornias. Phone: 714-569-0040 or 619-428-8259. Most of their buses are older than the Greyhound or Crucero buses and the seats are closer together which means less leg room. The last time I took this line the tickets were $17 each way.

It shows departures every hour on the hour from 5am through midnight. I didn't see a chart the last time I was in their San Ysidro terminal. I think the last departure to Santa Ana is around midnight. I've left their phone number in a previous post. On 2 or 3 occasions I've found myself in San Ysidro trying to get back to Santa Ana after the last bus was scheduled to go to Santa Ana (about 12:30 am) and I did not want to hang out in TJ until 6 am. I knew there was a Greyhound bound for downtown LA so I talked to the drivers directly and they charged me $15 and dropped me off in Santa Ana.
To find out the departures and returns for Greyhound/Crucero you can go to the Greyhound site and use the Search Schedules feature.
Transportes Intercalifornias location in San Ysidro
Locate the Jack and the Box and Motel on the east side of E. San Ysidro Blvd (east side of the 5 fwy) near the border. Directly across the street (west side) there is a parking lot and a building with several businesses and this is where the terminal for Transportes Intercalifornias is located. This is also where you catch the bus back to Santa Ana but it is NOT where you will be dropped off when arriving in San Ysidro. The drop off point is on the west side of the 5 fwy on Camiones Way about 100 yards from the border.
Greyhound/Crucero location in San Ysidro
The Greyhound terminal is on the east side of E. San Ysidro Blvd and is South of the end of the Trolley line. It is the last office at the end of the block. The drop off and pick up location for Greyhound/Crucero is at this location.
The bus depot in Santa Ana closes at 8 or 9 pm but there are still departures up until midnight. If you don't have a ticket and the office is closed you can approach the bus drivers and pay them directly.

This is one difference I notice of HK and AB;
I like HK for the shows and the dancing but I have bad luck there with the chicas. From all the times I've been there I've only had one girl sit with me for drinks. Recently HK manages to bring in a few good-looking chicas, some are $20 alley girls.

Arriba simply means "up" or "above," at least in this context. So, you would go up, or upstairs, i.e. to the "on-site" hotel.
Taking a girl back to one's hotel isn't all that easy, nor is it inexpensive. It's tough for them to leave mid-shift unless you pay a bundle to the bar (this is known as a salida) and the girl will usually ask for an extremely optimistic amount, generally based on what they think (hope, wish) they'll earn that evening. There are exceptions, but you get the idea.

I can only write from my personal experience of going to the HK club for the past several years. Here are the facts as I see them:
1.

I'm sure that's not true. In AB, its supposed to be that they are required to gain so many fichas in one work day to basically pay off their bar working fee. It doesn't matter if they get guys to buy them drinks or not, they can go upstairs as many time as they like before completing their ficha quota. The last time I tried to use only my driver's license, the customs agent who screened me gave me a lot of grief. Pretty much agreed. But HK's remodel has improved the place. I think the popularity will taper off after a while. I will say that the more I go to TJ the less tolerant of stupid scams I become. HK was my favorite place before the remodel. I haven’t been there since they’ve redone it because, till recently, I’ve had a gal here stateside(that has changed). I’m looking forward to the new layout of the place. The reason I like it more than AB is the dance club atmosphere. And I don’t go clubbing or dance, (too old). I like the music, dancing girls, the $1 feel ups, and the lezzy show. Overall the gals are better at AB than HK, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t diamonds to be found if you take the time. That’s where the good atmosphere makes it a better overall experience. AB just has the gals standing around waiting for you to go up and cut a deal, then it’s upstairs for the wham, bam, thank you mam’. Very mechanical.
As far as cover charges and extra fees; I learned quickly that walking away is the simplest way to have the “fees” waived. A waiter losing beer sales and tip and gals losing a trip next door speaks volumes. I am polite but insistent that I won’t pay superfluous charges, and then walk away. A trip around the block, a taco or two and I go back; often they don’t remember and the terms have changed. Bear in mind I go mid-week so I’m sure they are more sensitive to losing business on off-peak days than on the weekends.

i just returned from TJ for the first time since the renovations. WOW! What a great looking place. Was there Tues, Weds, and Thurs nights. No cover, not many patrons, and a few girls dancing/working. Both HK and some street girls use Cascadas. You are right that the 2 rates for for different amounts of time: 15 minutes for $6 (actually $5.50) and 30 minutes for $12. It's not the entrance that makes the difference.

The translator then says the driver said he can put me on the next bus to Santa Ana at 3:30 or I could wait until his next run at 5 am. I told the guy I'll take the 3:30 am run and we get off the bus. After we get off the guy tells the driver I'll take the 3:30 trip but then they tell me their friend is driving to Tijuana right now and he can drop me in Santa Ana for a small fee. I ask how much and they say $30. I say NO WAY and then the bus driver gives the guy $20 to drop me off at Santa Ana and off I go with my new chauffeur. 30 minutes later I am in my car and on my way home.
This trip and report turned out to be a little longer than I expected but worth it.

Comparing the schedules it appears the buses leaving Tijuana stop in San Ysidro as the Tijuana departure times lead the San Ysidro times by 45 minutes to 1 hour but this is only speculation. If this is not the case and you find yourself in la zona Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday you can hop on the bus in Tijuana at Ave. Paseo Tijuana # 9030, Zona Rio Tel. (664) 683-62-81 and 683-6282 (which I believe is the main street just across the border).
Next time you are in Tijuana you can stop by the Transportes Intercalifornias office. They have a sign behind the counter with the departure times and you can ask the guy at the counter for more information.

This is good info. However, the SA office was saying last bus leaving San Ysidro is 8PM, which would really interfere with La Zona schedule.

I agree if the last departure is at 8 PM you have to question is it worth while to make the trip down but I have in most instances caught my return bus between 10 pm and 11:30 pm.
The greyhound bus terminal closes at 8 pm but they have buses departing after that hour. (Check the schedule on Greyhound's website before you leave home at http://www.greyhound.com/home/). Buses departing after the office is closed will be parked right next to the office and will have either a Greyhound or a Crucero logo. To get to the Greyhound terminal when you return to the US side of the border, walk across the trolley tracks, make a hard right and walk to the end of the building.
I believe the Transportes Intercalifornias office is open at least until the last bus departure. I have caught their bus from San Ysidro after 11 pm several times and the office was still open at that time. Their office is located right across the street from Jack in the Box.
Greyhound can take you to San Ysidro, probably cleaner and safer than Santa Ana Taco Express! HornyTraveler,
There are advantages and disadvantages for Greyhound/Crucero and Transportes Intercalifornias.
Greyhound/Crucero buses might be a little cleaner and their staff can communicate in English (for those of us who cannot speak Spanish). They have a late/early bus that departs San Ysidro at 12:55 am bound for Los Angeles but Santa Ana is not a scheduled stop. (I have taken the 12:55 am bus to Santa Ana on at least 2 occasions dealing directly with the bus driver.)
Greyhound/Crucero buses going South often have more stops including Oceanside and San Diego before arriving in San Ysidro which adds 30 minutes or more to the trip. Also the drop off point in San Ysidro is at the Greyhound bus station which is on the east side of I-5. To cross over to Tijuana you have to go up the ramps, across the bridge and down the ramps on the west side. (This isn't a long walk but why not avoid it if you can.) These ramps may close daily in the early morning hours as I can remember arriving after 2 am on different occasions and the ramps were closed and locked. To cross the border I had to take a considerably longer walk north on E. San Ysidro Bl, west on Camino de la Plaza on the bridge across I-5 and back south on Camiones Way (about 3/4 of a mile total).
Transportes Intercalifornias goes directly from Santa Ana to San Ysidro nonstop and you get dropped off on the west side of I-5 which is a very short walk to the border (maybe 75 to 100 yards). The buses are usually less crowded as well.
I prefer to ride Transportes Intercalifornias south from Santa Ana and return on Greyhound/Crucero.

Bus terminal addresses and phone numbers are at the bottom of each page showing scheduled departures.
Ticket prices from downtown LA are the same as from Santa Ana. $18 One Way and $24 Round Trip.
The website lists departure times but not the time of arrival at the destination. It looks like the Southbound buses from downtown LA stop in Santa Ana on their way to San Ysidro. Avoiding peak hour traffic, from Santa Ana to San Ysidro you can plan on 1 hour and 30 minutes. If you want to leave from downtown LA that can add 1 hour and 15 minutes making it about a 2 hour and 45 minute trip. I know it doesn't take 1 hour and 15 minutes to get from downtown LA to Santa Ana but I believe that is how they plan it comparing the Centro Los Angeles and Santa Ana schedules.
The buses have bathrooms.

In the years past I have always thought of our hobby as fun, exciting and so on.
